73m 6s
The transcript blends personal storytelling with health and wellness advice, highlighting key themes of self-discovery, authenticity, and resilience. Yvonne Orgy shares her journey from childhood silence and bullying to finding her voice through comedy, faith, and self-acceptance, culminating in her new animated series *The Chosen Adventures*. Her story underscores the importance of trusting one's inner voice, especially in the face of societal pressure and cultural expectations. The narrative also includes discussions on health topics, such as the use of probiotics for targeted benefits and the risks of Botox for chronic migraines, emphasizing medical caution and personal responsibility. These elements are interwoven with moments of humor, cultural insight, and deep reflection, creating a multifaceted portrait of empowerment. The tone is warm, relatable, and uplifting, celebrating personal growth, community, and the power of staying true to oneself. Through her experiences, Yvonne emphasizes that joy, faith, and authenticity are not found in conforming to norms, but in embracing one's unique path, even when it's uncertain or unconventional. Like, when I tell you I was poor, I was eating.
Salads with no protein. It was just arugula.
Okay? It was just, there was no guac.
This is good. Look at it.
Come on.
Well, I'm right.
Flying a tennis racket.
Yeah, thank you so much.
Did you bring a tennis racket with you?
I don't make the rules, but you have to say it.
You walked away from me.
What the fuck?
You came in my head.
¿Qué es el problema con todas las gentes?
Entonces, problema.
So what happened with the pageant?
This is what happened, baby.
I'm telling you, it's a good story.
It's a pageant.
You got that?
You're trying to kill me.
What is up, neighbors?
We've got Yvonne Orgy pulling up to the house today.
Now, you may know her as Molly from Insecure or from her hit HBO comedy specials
that prove she is just as quick on stage as she is on the screen.
She's got a new animated series called The Chosen Adventures
and a third comedy special on the way.
She is quick.
She's hilarious.
And she is groundbreaking.
She's talented in her faith.
And I bet that she's the kind of house guest that when she shows up, you plan, it goes out the window.
But you still have the best time full of deep belly laughs.
You look good.
You look good.
I like this.
I like this.
Is that cashmere in there?
Yeah.
You know what they say about cashmere?
What do they say?
It breathes.
Does it?
Somebody said it once.
I don't know who they said it to or what they were talking about, but I remember it was cashmere.
I was like, I thought it felt like a hug.
Yeah, but like a breathable hug.
Ooh.
Is that how you like your hug?
I am so excited to have you at the house today.
I'm going to just say that right now.
I'm actually excited to be at the house.
Yeah.
I like you.
Same.
I don't really be outside for no reason, for nobody.
Baby, when I tell you I understand what you mean, I understand what you mean.
And I like a lot of people.
I'm not one of those people like, I don't like people.
I didn't know that celebrities didn't like people until I was around people in the public eye.
And I was like, y'all don't like people?
Nobody in this room?
You really?
Because I get my energy from people.
I also get drained from people.
Right.
But I enjoy the interactions.
Right.
And so when I was with people, they're like, I want to leave.
I'm like, we got here.
You just got here.
My problem is when I'm in public, I'll be like, people think they know me.
And so I have a very bad short-term memory.
So in my mind, I'm like, they probably do.
They do.
So I interact with them like, hey.
Hey.
And the way they come at you, it feels so familiar that it's like.
Of course.
It's so late to be like, what's your name again?
Yeah.
So I'm like, hey, yeah.
How you doing?
Look at you.
Amazing.
And then they go, five minutes in.
We don't know each other.
Oh, why'd you do that?
I'm out here doing gymnastics trying to be like, using context clues like, is it high school?
I thought we went to, we had the same babysitter.
What's your mom's name?
Which one should we go to?
Yeah.
Turns out, turns out none of the above.
Jesus on the main line.
Is this my favorite drink you're making?
It's a Hugo Spritz.
Yeah.
You like a Hugo Spritz, right?
I love a Hugo.
Do you know how many people I put?
I put onto Hugo Spritz.
Winston Duke and I were in Milan for Milan Fashion Week.
Put him onto this.
Like, three weeks later, he was like, what was that drink we had in Milan?
I was like, they owe me money.
Do you remember where you were the first time you had it?
I do.
Momentito, momentito, momentito.
Okay, okay.
Esperanza.
I think I was in London.
Yeah.
I'll just randomly go to Spanish.
I love what you think in Spanish.
I love it.
Esperanza.
Entonces.
Momentito.
Pero, pero, pero, like.
You know what?
I was in London.
You were in London.
I was in London.
I was in London at Shortage House.
What is this?
What is this?
There's so much going on, yeah?
So, yeah.
I've been to London three times, and I'm like, yeah, bruv.
You know what I'm saying?
Ain't that?
Oh, are you smacking that ass?
Yeah, you gotta.
Yeah, you gotta.
Yeah, she like it a little.
I ain't never had my Hugo Spritz, man.
Girl, you ain't been doing it right.
Oh.
Teach me thine ways.
Guys, you gotta smack a mitt.
You gotta smack the mitt.
When was the last time you smacked a mitt?
Yeah, you gotta make it clap.
Ooh.
I mean, are we still talking about this drink?
I mean, maybe.
Okay, Topo Chico.
Okay, we have.
Ooh.
Yes.
I like the way you make a drink.
You like, you put your all into it.
Yeah, I have to focus.
So, I'm not a very good multitasker, I'll be honest.
Ooh, it already look and smell so good.
And then that lemon's gonna set it off.
You already know.
Ooh, you love it?
You love it?
Make you wanna dance, slap your mama?
This is a dance of the loo.
There's gonna be music playing underneath this.
Yeah, yeah.
When are we doing a movie together?
I mean, you the one with the Sony deal.
Come on, girl.
I'm just saying, when are we doing a movie together?
What do you wanna do?
This already feels like fun.
Like, we're already on vacation.
Yes.
The plot is, we just outside.
I love being outside.
Yes.
I don't know what the A and B story is.
We're just, you know what?
What's the, why can't we just have a movie
where everyone's just having a good time?
And then, like, that's it.
Remember the 90s?
Remember the early 2000s?
Yeah, when it was just like.
Well, everyone was having a good time
until I smell, I smell.
Tell me what you think about that.
Okay, hold on.
I literally have to introduce people to Hugo
for the first time with me.
Right.
Because it has to be done right.
Because one time I had a Hugo's first,
and they added lemon juice to it.
Wait.
Like, lime juice.
I'm sorry, lime juice to it.
And I said, why is it foggy?
I had a gin one, and they added Sambuca.
Not us doing a very bad telenovela.
Hello?
I'm really ready for Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl, baby.
Let's go.
Okay, hold on.
Wait, wait, wait, hold on.
Oh, baby, that's, um.
Right?
You love me.
Right?
You love me.
Okay, we're going to have to do a counter
of all the songs that we break into.
Why don't we just have a podcast for the episode?
The episode has a podcast.
You're welcome.
A watch-along podcast for the Houseguest episode.
It's like, remember Papa Video?
Papa Video?
Do you remember Papa Video?
Do you remember?
Yes!
Yes, of course!
You have to remember that these are the reasons
why I'm on TV right now with these experiences.
And what's crazy to me to think about is that, like,
not only have you had this incredible career on television,
right, and film, but now you're venturing off
into the animated world with this Chosen series.
Talk to me about how that, how you even get your mind around.
You're right, it is The Voice.
The Voice is.
You know what?
Here's a story of my life.
For so long, this is just the overarching theme of my life.
Yeah.
I was silenced, and then God gave me a microphone.
Is that right?
I grew up youngest and only girl, family of four.
Yep.
And. Just be quiet back there.
Women are to be seen and not heard.
Also, what are you saying?
What are you talking?
What are you talking about?
Hey, then shut up!
And I was like, all right, cool.
And I didn't really listen, but I just was like,
I'm going to read books.
Right.
And then I was bullied in school.
So at home, it was like, be quiet.
And at school, it was like, nobody likes you.
I don't know why they have an accent,
because I was in America.
And so then, like, because I was silenced,
and so I don't think I really liked my voice.
But what's so funny is, I didn't realize how. Because, you know, like, you have Chris Rock.
When you hear, like, the voice of Little Penny,
like, the shoe, you're like, that's Chris Rock.
And so, Yvonne Orgy is the same way.
I don't know that.
And so I was literally somewhere,
and this woman, like, broke her neck and turned around.
She's like, I heard your voice.
And I thought that was you.
I was like, come on.
That's it.
And so I was like, okay, that's for me.
Okay.
I love it.
And so now, this animated series,
kind of based on the. Le Bibliou.
Right?
Le Bibliou, that's the Bible.
Le Bibliou.
So I was like, wait.
But also, the Chosen Series.
Yes, non-animated, live-action version.
Right?
On Amazon.
Yes.
What is the name of your character?
The Winged Wanderer.
Winged Wanderer.
I mean, they want to call her One-Legged Pigeon,
but I want to call her Winged Wanderer,
because don't put some respect to my character's name.
Okay?
Because why she got one leg?
I don't make the rules, but you have to say,
you walked away from me.
No.
Don't walk away, boy.
Don't walk away.
I am the one who hurt you.
And will hurt you.
The fact that we both have the ad-libs, too.
This is crazy.
Remember when we were on the plane?
On the plane.
And y'all took all my seats?
First of all, we were on a version. First of all, we were on a version of Soul Plane,
headed to Washington, D.C.
Delta, y'all came through on that.
Let me tell you what happened.
Because that flight, we was rocking.
Y'all were rocking.
Because here's what happened.
happened? I have diamond, okay? I have diamond on Delta, okay? I said, I will always get this upgrade,
okay? And I was just going home for like a second. Happened to be Black and Iconic weekend for BET.
Had no idea. Had no idea. Had no idea. It was Icon weekend. It was gay pride. It was all the pride.
It was a lot of stuff. And I was like, I'm going to be fine. When I booked a ticket, they were like,
would you like to upgrade? It's an additional four that I said. No, I'll be fine. No, I'm diamond.
I'll be fine. When I tell you I got the plan, I was like, hi, have you guys? But I literally saw
you at the gate. Hi, hello, I'm here. And they were like, everyone just checked in. I said,
everyone? And I was like this. And then it was like you. What the face? I had the nerve to put
me in the seat behind your hose. It was crazy. Because then I look back and everyone's like,
can you send me a drink? It was like.
They're feeding them. Y'all have so much fun up there. I feel like I'm a twist. Please, sir.
Can I have some more? My cheeks already hurt. I was cold. I was sitting next to a baby. The baby
was nice, though. If you're watching this, that was a cute little family. She was like, are you?
And I was like, yeah, it was a last minute trip. It was a last minute. You sit in the middle.
I was in the aisle. They were in the middle. And because then we made all
this commotion. And she was like, are you?
And I said, I am. When I tell you, when I tell you, they were like, can you all please have a
seat? And the you all definitely had like the tone of like, if you don't. Because there was a white
guy in the middle of Brian. And I'm like, and he was like, I'm just trying to read the New York
Times. Right. On my Kindle. I was like, this is the best room of your life, sir. Own it. Get into
it. It's a reminder to me that we always see each other. Great. It's a reminder to me to pay for the
upgrade. If they give you the option, go ahead and do that thing. Do that thing. But we always see
each other outside of LA. In New York, in LA, in Europe, like all over the place. I like us in
Europe. Do you know what I'm saying? We need a European adventure. Baby, can you imagine us in
Europe? Can you imagine us traveling? Is that a show? The answer is yes. And it's a travel show,
luxury. Yes. High, low. High, low. Let's not forget our roots. But get the upgrade. Yeah.
But chosen adventure, right? This animated show on Amazon.
Yes. We're going to choose our own adventure today. We're going to spin the globe. What?
Because I always see you. Okay. Okay. I see what you did there. I like
it. I see you everywhere. I liked it. So here's our little. Okay. Ooh, I love all the joy, career,
faith. We can go so far. Right. So you get to choose where we're going to go. No, you choose.
No, no, you choose. You're the guest. And then we've got some questions to answer based on where
you choose. Okay. You know what? Because I'm in my joy season. Joy. You're going joy first?
Joy, joy, joy, joy, joy to the world. The Lord has come. Let earth receive. That was the DMX
version. I'm sorry. It came out of me. Okay. Here's the first question. Who brings the most
joy into your life and why? I think it's a multiplicity of people. Okay. You like that
word? The multiplicity. I don't even know if I used it right, but I feel like it went there.
It is the people in my life that are easy.
Mm-hmm. That are easy to be around. That when we are together, all we have to be is
ourselves. Mm. I mean, because I'm always myself regardless, but it's even a step further
when it's a safe space. Yes. When I can just, I can be goofy and I can be like, I don't
understand. I can be like, and then the third repertoire of, you know, like I can be all
the things. You can be extra and a little and not at all. And it's still good. And I'm
in the season now where I'm laughing at stupid stuff. Just like stupid stuff. I'm in the
like, just stupid stuff. Like the, like the, the friends who send you the memes that you're
like at two o'clock in the morning, you're like this hoe. But the crazy part is when
they sent, when they send you like this, you. And I'd be like, first of all, right. What
brings me joy is not having to explain myself with the people in my life that I love and
that know me because I can just beat me. I'm going to be, I love Jesus too. Y'all hear
that? Sexy red.
That's a good core. Got that back situated. Maybe cause you know, got a lighter cane patch
on right now. I'm in the recovery stage of my life. Hello, baby. What I think when I
play tennis, I have a full two hours of recovery afterwards. Don't play with me. Two weeks.
You're exactly right. Yes. For, for, for two hours of play, two weeks is two weeks for
me. I'm like, it's the whole, it's the whole thing. The hot tub. You got to stretch. I
have like a physio. When I tell you a sneeze. Baby.
After 35, a sneeze. You got to brace yourself. You got to call off work. I have to activate
my core to sneeze. Are we good? Are we good? Are we good? I stumbled up a step and I said,
Oh, I got to do a cat cow. I got to do a cat. I got to do a child's pose. I went up the
steps. Okay. I'm going to go. I'm going to go adventure. What's a fear you conquered
while traveling? Well, I would say it was when I first started solo traveling. The fear
was what I would find out about myself. In the quiet and alone time. Cause it's easy
to just be like, and then when you're by yourself, it's like, it's just you. Yeah. And it's just
like, well, I like what I discover. Did you? I do now. I'm going to tell you your trip
to Bali inspired me. Like I was like, Oh, I want that experience. And it seemed like
you were there for 17 weeks.
Almost a month. But I was, I was prepared to say for the whole, I was like, Oh, so what's
happening in America? Yeah. I live here now. If you saw me in a robe and a, and about don't
ask no questions. Bali was a transformational. Like my body composition changed. Is that
right? I was getting massages every day. Your body composition is going to change. Like
to the point where when I started, I was like, yeah, can you use your elbow and your big
toe? Like get up and cause you got to work with my work.
And then by the end of the trip, I was like, can you just do like a lymphatic? Can you
just like my voice changed? I was, I was mini-reporting. I was like, Hey, like really? The Nigerian
left me. I was like, hi everyone. I am. I'm just, I'm just really happy to be here. Whoa.
And then I got to the West and I was like, I know what I said. Why ain't people talking?
Everybody leave me alone. Yeah. It just came right back. Came floating back. To the sound
man. I'm so sorry. He was like.
He's like, you didn't warn me about this hoe.
I would say trying new things on a menu recently.
What new food did you try that you were like, oh, kind of like.
Escargot.
Okay.
And I was like very prepared to not like, shouldn't like it.
For sure.
There's so much about it. That's like, it's a snail.
Well, here's the thing. Snails in Africa, very different than snails in America.
Still a snail.
Here's the thing. But caviar, escargot, I too was like, I don't understand it.
But caviar, I'm there.
I had a 10 minute caviar conversation with Martha Stewart.
Okay. Okay. Humble brag.
No, but here's the thing.
That's okay. Me and Martha, we were just talking about living and things.
Me and Martha.
Me and Martha. We were just talking about, you know, life. And then I said, hey, Martha,
caviar. And she was like, hey, yes, caviar.
Caviar.
She said to me, she said, how do you know so much about caviar? I said, well, excuse
me, the same way you do. I eat it.
That's not the way she knows.
Martha, she was so different.
Martha was like, I went deep sea diving. She was like, I went deep sea diving.
I said, well, how do you know so much about caviar? She was like, hey, yes, caviar.
Caviar.
I eat it.
Right.
And I, uh.
I have cultivated my own.
I have caviar in my backyard.
I thought, I thought.
Me or you are not the same.
She did look at me like, that's really cute.
She's like, oh, so you just eat it? I grow it.
How do you feel about oysters?
Love a raw oyster.
I love oysters.
I love oysters.
I love oysters.
I'm like.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, it's, it's alive when you eat it.
I get it.
The oyster.
It's not like.
I get it.
I get it.
I get it.
I get it.
I get it.
I get it.
The oyster.
It's not like.
It's still.
Yeah.
It's still.
It's still doing like this.
I'm sorry.
Is it the.
Is it the Michael Jackson oyster?
What is.
Why?
Why?
Tell them that it's human nature.
Why?
Why?
Whoa.
Who wants to slur me this away?
It was like Michael Jackson if he was in a Nike commercial.
Is what you just gave me.
J.M.
I'm just saying.
My neck just hurts.
Okay.
So, I want to tell you.
I want to tell you.
I want to tell you.
I want to tell you.
Okay.
I want to tell you.
I want to tell you.
I want to tell you.
I want to tell you.
J.M.
I want to tell you.
I want to tell you.
I want to tell you.
I want to tell you.
I want to tell you.
J.M.
I want to tell you.
Faith or finances?
I love this question because, one, it's so real.
And two, the way my God is set up, he said, I don't have to choose.
He said, I will give you the exceedingly abundantly above all that you'd ever think, dream, ask for or imagine.
So, yeah, I think the same God who knows the number of hairs on my head, even with the units, wouldn't want me to sell myself short.
I'm with that.
Yeah. Well, I think Cardi B say, I'll get them both. I don't want to choose.
Yeah.
Yeah. That was the ministry of Cardi. It was Luke 1 and 7.
Uncle Luke.
Hey.
Uncle Luke.
Are we?
Look at Uncle Luke.
I love it when Uncle Luke come on, you got to brace yourself.
You got to tighten your core. Have you been in a situation, though, where you have had to consider, OK, the situation is right.
In this way, but it's not right in this way or it's all together in this way and not together in this way.
Therefore, I have to make a different choice.
For me, like when it comes to love, it's a whole it's a package.
Yeah, it's a total package.
Like people can be like, oh, he cute.
And then, like, well, not people, me, I go, oh, he's fine.
And then he opens his mouth and you're like, no, I think we're good.
And then I can see someone's like, oh, I'm not the type I would normally go for.
And then there's like things about them.
They just like enrapture you and you're just like, wow.
Like.
Expand my world.
Yes, I'm I'm in it.
Yeah.
And then, you know, like with every relationship, it's either it ends in marriage or it breaks up.
Like there's only like I mean, for me, there's.
Right.
But then you also want you to spend a lot of time with yourself.
You also like know what you like.
And like what is important.
And what you need.
And what you offer.
Because I bring a lot.
I'm a fantastic girlfriend.
I believe that.
I'm like, I'm really good.
You're a fantastic friend.
So I imagine that.
I mean, I've had to learn things that weren't great.
But in but I but I'm the kind of person that will do the work.
Right.
So in having also done the work, I'm even I'm girlfriend 2.0.
Like I'm I'm like actually really amazing.
Like I'm not like I'm not even like I'm not even playing.
Like I'm actually like you're like you should love me.
Which means I would imagine that when you're in a in the initial phase of whatever the attraction might be with someone that like they really have to bring the best of themselves.
You know, some people like I feel like now we're getting a little lazy.
You can't be lazy with me.
We're getting a little lazy with like our our how we follow up with one another, how we how we how we prepare to see each other, all of those things.
Right.
I mean, it's such I'm not pressed.
OK.
Phase of my life.
I hear that.
Like when you're not pressed, like I'm like actually really content.
Like, you know, I joke on it.
I'm like, I'm single.
But I'm like, I got my life.
And so my thing is, like, if you're going to like invade my life in the best way, maybe like make me be like, oh, my gosh.
Yeah.
Not like, hey, man, my best friend should be better than this.
Please.
That's the door.
I'll lock it from inside.
Like, are you the kind of person that can see the good that you want for your life?
The things that you are waiting for, welcoming, preparing for in your life.
Yeah.
When you see them happen for other people around you, are you able to celebrate that?
I love it.
I'm so not the hater in the front group.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I am the like and even if I do feel like a tinge of like, what is that?
I check myself.
I'm like, what is that you're feeling?
Yeah.
Or like, why do you think that this is your time for that?
Or like, I like I'm more like your path is your path.
Yeah.
I love it when my friends.
But who wants to be the only one winning in their friend group?
That is crazy.
That's not fun.
Like, I want to like I'm the biggest celebrator of my friends.
And that's why I like I want to know and fully understand like who you are, what you want, what you desire.
Because then when I'm in a room, I can be like, this is Scott.
OK, so his biggest dream is to be on Broadway.
When we first started running into each other, we started seeing each other.
You would ask me very pointed questions about.
Yeah.
And I'd be like, why is she asking me?
Yeah.
Because you're so talented.
Then I'm like, what do you want to do?
And but like, not just like, what do you want to do?
But like, what do you dream of?
Yes.
Are you happy?
Yeah.
Like, what are your wildest dreams?
Yes.
And it was like such a refreshing conversation to be having with someone you are becoming friends with.
Because now I know that not only was it about getting to know me, but about my dreams so that you could be in.
Service to that when you are in those positions.
Because it cost me nothing.
If me offering your name in a room means it takes something that took something away from me, then it was never mine.
Because like, baby, everything that is mine has always come.
It's going to find it.
It's going to double dutch its way to to me.
Like, you can try.
You can try keeping it from me.
But the way I got it set up, he will put you in the lion's den, baby.
OK, to get my stuff to me.
So I don't have no qualms whatsoever to help someone.
And it's not even like because I helped you.
Now you got to help me because I have some people I'm like.
Oh, that's how they wanted to.
Oh, didn't know that's how we were working with.
But I keep my heart open.
But also like eyes and ears.
This industry is so focused on like, what have you done for me lately?
And I'm more like, how are you in the midst of everything?
And it's like a breath of fresh air.
Are you taking a break?
Yeah.
Are you happy?
Because sometimes we can see the blessing in a thing and think that it's blessed.
But really, I'm like, hey, how you feel?
Are you tired?
Because I've seen you on every plane that I've been on and I know I'm tired.
There's so much good.
And there's also so much like fake.
Yeah.
And there's so much like, oh, and there's so much awe.
And it's like a mixed bag.
Yeah.
And so you just have to take the bag that fills your cup.
And it doesn't mean that the bag someone else will take that someone else takes is crazy.
It's just that people drink coffee.
I'll drink coffee.
I drink Hugo Spritz.
My problem is when people are drinking from a cup that they think they need to drink from.
But they don't even like.
That's when I'm like, baby, put the cup down like we can make you another drink because that's that's a hard place to live.
And I don't I don't like that for me.
And I don't like that.
That's why when I when I am becoming friends with someone, I'm like, hi, you know, I'm being friends with because if I'm friends with you, we got bus wide open and not like that.
I mean, we're just like heart space, heart space, center chakra.
And so if it's like I don't even know who you are because you don't even know who you are, then I'm like, I don't know who I'm friends with.
And then it's not going to work.
It's not sustainable.
Right.
I don't know how you feel about this.
When you read the like Instagram post or you read the whatever and you you hear the person that's like, I spent 10 years of my life being this person because someone they told me I was supposed to be this person.
You know, the image that my team projected.
And for me, that hurts my soul because it's like, damn, you really wasted a decade fighting to be the person that you were always predestined to be.
Right.
And now because the world.
The world doesn't understand or like nuance.
People are judgmental of the version of you that you were meant to be.
I want to just like this me.
Yeah, this is it.
Hey, so take the good spit out the bad.
Whatever you want to do.
But this is it.
This is it.
Because it's not I'm not I'm not like double dutching.
Well, I don't have a good memory, so I can't remember who I said I was supposed to be.
I just lied to y'all.
Who the hell?
Who am I supposed to be today?
God dang.
Is it Wednesday?
Right.
It's too much.
Yeah, that's what I'm like.
This is it.
And the problem is the problem, too, with this society is then everyone has a judgment even on that on that.
And that's why I'm like, I don't care.
Right.
I mean, I care.
But like, not really.
You care because you're a human being, but like, not that I care enough that you're going to change the purpose that was already put on me.
And I spent a lot of time getting clear on that purpose.
Baby.
So we don't keep to that.
Before season one of Integra, we were in the Pride Lands, I think.
Really?
We were in the Pride Lands.
Like, when I tell you I was poor, I was eating salads with no protein.
It was just arugula.
Okay.
It was just there was no guac.
It was just.
I'm talking Scar took over the Pride Lands.
And that's where I was.
Okay.
And God was like, cool.
I've got a lovely bunch of.
God was like, I'm going to hide you.
And I remember a pastor saying.
I mean, if the light that's shining on you is greater than the light shining in you, then the light shining on you will kill you.
Whoa.
And that always stuck with me.
This was before I came to Hollywood.
And I remember, like, I kept me hidden.
And it was like, what does integrity look like for you?
What does character mean to you?
Because success is coming, but that's not what I'm.
I'm not afraid of success.
I'm afraid of who you will be if you don't know who you are when you get success.
Right.
So let's figure this out now so that we don't have to have this conversation later.
Wow.
And you don't hoe and trick off the blessings I'm trying to give you.
That part.
That's why I care now about people and their things, because my thing is like, you're going to be blessed.
You're going to be.
That's not the problem.
Right.
Who are you when you're blessed?
Pop, go to Wizard, because the Wizard's so pop.
I'm hungry.
We got some Thai food.
You want some Thai food?
You know, we travel the world.
So I was like.
I thought you was going to make me do law friends, if I'm being very honest.
Yeah, so I made the base.
I did.
I made a little tomato base.
Okay, so how did you make it?
It was like, it was tomato.
Tomato.
And then the onions.
With the, yeah.
With the chicken stock.
And the chicken stock with the.
You didn't make the base.
No, I did.
I did.
With the bay leaves.
You were like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
With the bay leaves and the coriander.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And so how did, that's what happened.
And then that's where, yeah, that's where it was.
I wish I had the evidence of this.
I want to see, because I would have been like, all right, let's call my mama.
Let's fix it.
Because, you know, I can't make it.
Fix it?
- You know what he did?
- Got us some Thai food?
- He got us some Thai food.
- Yattu Sai!
- Hello, hello!
Oh, are we having like Patsy U?
Patsy U, Patsy Mow.
I have to ask you a question.
This is a real question.
How do you like your fried egg?
Do we like it runny?
Do we like it well done?
Hard.
Yes.
Hard.
With a hearty yolk.
I don't like a runny egg.
I don't like a runny nothing.

Yeah.
Okay, so you know I love language.
The weight of my heart is through my stomach.
Is that right?
Feed me.
Well, baby, this one thing I'm going to do is make sure you eat.
What is it about Thai food?
You got rice, you got noodles, you got salad, you got egg rolls, you got fried, you got sauteed.
You got everything.
For me, it's the sauce.
I'm a saucy chick.
It's the sauce for you.
Because had you made the jollof rice.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
You would have seen.
That's some good linen.
Come on.
This is good linen.
Come on.
Well, all right.
You got sponsors.
I love you so much.
Are we locked in?
Are you my friend?
I love you.
That's it.
Okay, hold on.
We just have to say grace.
Let's do it.
You going to say grace, black man?
No, you go.
You got it.
You got it.
You got it.
I defer to you, black man.
Okay.
Thank you.
See, I'm learning.
Submission.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
You are learning.
You said I'm learning.
It's on my heart.
It's on my heart.
It's on my heart.
It's on my heart.
It's on my heart.
I got to practice.
You know me.
I'm like, I said it in the name of Jesus.
No, I'm just kidding.
Oh, my God.
I'm just kidding.
Lord, bless the hands that made this food.
It wasn't us.
It was not.
Bless the driver who delivered the food.
Bless the folks who called me on the phone because I had a complicated order who talked
me through the situation, Lord.
Bless them.
Thank you for the team that we have.
I've gathered here today for this incredible house guest episode.
Thank you for delivering us, Yvonne, safely and in high spirits, good spirits, and ready
to share herself with the world in a way that she's never done before.
I ask that you bless this episode.
You bless the people who are watching.
Amen.
And in Jesus' name, I pray.
And I thank you that you remove all calories from this meal.
I thank you, God, that all carbohydrates are just expunged from our inner workings of our
small and large intestines.
In Jesus' name, amen.
Prayers always, sometimes about the things you want, right?
The things you need.
Won't end me.
Don't act like I didn't bring a sweatshirt.
If y'all see me in a sweatshirt, just know the ab muscles were fine when I hadn't eaten.
Just know that she showed up to the house looking like the lead singer of a 90s girl
group.
I said, come on, SWV, TLC.
My love will be right here.
Right here.
Be right here.
Do you know that he gave them that sample?
That was a gift.
He just said, here, you can't afford it anyway.
But if you could.
Huh.
Yeah.
He probably was like, and I want all your royalties.
I want all your royalties.
So I used to get bullied in school.
We used to have talent shows.
Okay.
This was before I knew that I was talented.
But in my mind, I was like, oh, if I do well at the talent show, then I'll get friends.
So like a silly goose, because I had no friends, I would do a lip sync to a song.
That required a group.
So I'm like, I'm doing lip sync to I can't say weak in the knees.
I can hardly speak.
I lose total control.
And that's like, I'm doing all part four part harmony that it goes to show it tracks, but
it gets worse because I was like, oh, you know what else?
Because that's trying to get the girls for the dudes.
I was like, it's bone and biggie, baby.
I was doing.
But it's any different.
It's the bag is like it's more recipes.
Natasha.
I don't know where you at.
Girl, where you at?
We have not heard from Tasha since that song.
Don't need to.
And Natasha.
Don't need to.
DM me.
What was the insecure the show finding?
Remember the show that everybody was watching on the show on the show?
Finding that that's what we need.
We need to find Natasha.
The black girl who's going to miss it?
Yeah.
After this episode, don't worry.
The interwebs are going to work.
Yeah.
They're going to be like, Tasha right here.
She's right here.
I wonder if she still does the riff.
You know, you know what?
She's about to come out on the Brandy and Monica tour.
She's about to be.
She's about to be like, and Tasha, the boys, the boys, man, and Tasha.
You need professional help.
You need professional seek professional help right now.
And Tasha is crazy.
But you know what my registrar was?
Like my singing registrar.
Can you guess what R&B singer?
I identify.
I'm already.
I'm already so nervous.
Very deep.
Johnny Gill.
What?
That's high.
What?
Nah.
Since you've been gone, I've been thinking about you.
You're going Barry Manilow.
No.
You're going Barry.
It's a Tony registrar.
Jumped in my head.
Okay.
I don't know.
That sounds a little.
We were talking about.
I wasn't talking.
I was eating.
No, we were.
Cause you said, you said early on, like before you knew you were talented in this way that
you were doing like talent shows and stuff in school.
And I'm curious about when you, it was, you discovered that you were talented as an actress,
that you had talent as even a standup.
You know what I mean?
Like how did you discover that?
Jesus.
Jesus.
That's the full, that's the full stop period.
Yeah.
As the young people do this.
No.
What is it?
I remember being in Nigeria.
I was in Potakot.
I'm in Potakot, yeah.
Burner Boy is also from Potakot.
Fun fact.
I didn't know that.
Potakot, Nigeria.
Potakot.
Cause then we don't pronounce that like ours.
It's like Potakot.
It's very harsh.
Well, there are ours in that.
I always say like Nigerians are not like, it's not like the sexy.
It's very like, baby, baby, how are you?
Baby, do you want to?
Have relations.
Like it's very, it's like not.
The word I found incredibly intriguing was the, was it the yash?
Nyash.
Nyash.
Yeah.
So when a woman has nyash, she has girth.
She has, it just goes like this.
It's like a fucking drum and the drum is beating, beating.
Nyash.
They hate us.
Everyone here is like.
Well, I love it.
I'll tell you that right now.
Okay.
So I was in Nigeria.
Yes.
And my father is like, my father.
So I have three older brothers and a father and a father.
So I grew up with a lot of men, but my dad is one that he would hold court.
Like he would, like we had a, you know, we have a compound.
Right.
And so, um, set the man with acreage.
Don't at me.
This is acreage.
Okay, Earl.
All right.
Like the dew in the morning.
Let me rest upon my land.
That's, that's what the song is.
There's a deer running as the deer pandits.
So does my soul.
Anyway, um, my father was holding court.
I love you too.
My father was holding court.
And I remember just being like, I want to do that.
Like it was like, it was like when you hear like African men drinking Guinness and Heineken
and like, they're just laughing.
It's like a, a belly laugh.
And so that's what I told him.
I said, you're a foolish goat.
And everybody was like laughing.
And I was like, I'm going to do this.
Right.
Well, this is power.
I'm going to wield that.
And of course my dad was like, y'all enjoying senior jokes.
Oh yeah.
Get out.
And so how I got to, uh, where you all know me, I'm, I was getting my master's in public
health because I was running away from being a doctor.
Um, and all of this is in my book.
That boosted by Jesus.
How God tricked me into the life of my dreams.
Now available on Amazon and wherever books are played.
You love it.
I do.
I'm good.
I'm good at my job.
Every time you, uh, endorse this and that.
And that.
That's a chance.
Since you've been gone.
Uh.
So, and don't this, what happened was, um, there was an F, uh, in organic chemistry.
Ooh.
Well, cause I thought, here's the thing.
I thought we was all prepared to fail.
Right.
Cause nobody really understood it.
I started bringing essence magazines to class.
Like it was actually disrespectful what I was doing.
Cause I was like, Hey man, no one else understands this.
We're not doing this.
I was like, man, look at fall fashions.
While they're like covalent bonds.
And you're like, maybe there are like, uh, X and Y chromosomes.
That's not even, that's not even organic chemistry.
See, that's why I was going to fail.
That's biology.
But it was everything.
It was like conjugate this.
And then again, not conjugate a verb.
That's Spanish.
I was prepared to fail because if everyone fails, then there's got to be a curve.
The curve has got to go.
I'm going to get a B.
The tide and the rising of the ship.
Well, these hoes was out there studying without my knowledge.
And we definitely
got our test scores back and i said is that an a oh fuck did we not come together as a unit and
decide that we're failing and they were like even you've been bringing magazines to class we're not
the same and i was like so long story short um i ain't getting an early selection program and it
was at that point you have to know things about yourself i'm not good at standardized tests like
i didn't like back in whatever they were doing like i didn't break a thousand um act or sat
sats pero i graduated like very high in my class like i'm i'm a study i understand i'm a i'm a pass
but the standardized test no like self-taste i'm not good at that you put me in a room baby i'm
sure the director's like i mean it was more of that please the point is i know i know my strengths
yeah that was not one of them right and so then i was at this crossroads where i was like well
like okay i'm
i'm already in the major and my parents are paying for this i kind of have to continue this
right what are we what are we gonna do and i also didn't know and like it wasn't it was a lie but it
wasn't because it was like i didn't have another option it's not like i'm like i've always wanted
to be a makeup artist but i'm secretly undercover as a dentist like no like it was like i the only
thing i've ever done has been science and math right except for when i used to talk to myself
in the mirror because i didn't have friends that was the first acting class i ever took like
playing back the things i would have done taisha i stabbed you in the face then why don't you come
over here don't don't tell me with a good time i'll kill you and your mama and then when taisha
really would see me i'd be like hey girl you want a capri sun not how i practice this scene but that
that is that you know you're ready to improv you know what i mean would you like a capri sun i have
lunchables she really does hate me but i definitely was like wait in your room in the mirror anyway so
i'm getting my i'm getting uh my undergrad degree i'm getting my undergrad degree i'm getting my
undergrad degree i'm trying to figure out like what do i do now because i like i can't tell my
parents i don't want to go to med school because i really don't i also didn't like blood still don't
every month i'd be like again 28 days comes so quick oh my god dang it it's so much blood
you're trying to kill me you're trying to kill me i know what your intention was today you said
i'm gonna kill him on the show i'm gonna kill him and so i'm not gonna do surgery no no and it was
for your parents to know well no because i kept lying to them um i decided to go get my master's
in public health because i was like okay i gotta be in the health care field but i did global health
because i like traveling yes so i was like if i'm gonna help people it has to be madagascar
you know i think the people of bolivia really need me
they need me there they mozambique requires my assistance the maldives the dominican republic
but i actually did i didn't study abroad in the dr so that's why i'm like all my spanish is like
very dominican are you the kind of person that when you when you land in a new place i immerse
myself are you like i could live here you find a coffee shop jay-z said i could sell water to a
whale you plant me anywhere and you are an expat i'm a local oh snap a local hello hello my people
i'm i'm home i want i want two experiences i want to like leave me alone i'm luxuriating yeah i just
want to get that out of my system and then i'm like how do locals live yeah so where are we going
where are we going and i think because i'm nigerian like i don't have that like oh no this is unsafe
i'm like have you been to lagos uh lagos is fine it's fine please i don't want no problems
but you know you get a you get you get some you get some street sense about you exactly because
you know if you could it's kind of like if you can't live you can't have anything like if you
live in new york i don't think milwaukee's gonna be a problem for you exactly what did you how did
your parents react when you told them that you were going to not only not be a doctor but they
were going to pursue acting and comedy kept running do they think that you are a doctor
right now i'm in scrubs at this moment i'm in scrubs when you go home you'll be like oh the
shift was hard today you've heard so much bloody friday you've heard all the switch movies i
transform like step on our girl i'm in step on our girls i'm like they still don't know i act i
wear a stethoscope around them all the time did public health then i was like i gotta get a job
i'm like that's just how it is right worked in uh dc in public health and then an opening came up
in war-torn liberia like after the war like guerrilla warfare right madam ellen johnson
became president and i was like you know who needs me the people of liberia and so my mom was like
what but why don't you come to nigeria if that's the case i'm like no no liberia needs me so i
went and did global health work in liberia post-conflict what the year was 2008 now
and then recession happened so now i'm back in america and i was like oh this is the best decoy
ever no one has a job because recession right so i'm going to move to new york and start pursuing
comedy but before this happened this is how i got into comedy right i was getting my masters so this
before i don't know why i'm using that as like post-conflict liberia like the war i was getting
my masters and then a pageant happened it was the miss nigerian america pageant yes it's very
specific this is not one of the you know his patches this is this is something else this is
a are you nigerian are you american then maybe can you pay the entry fee
so i just thought like oh i just need a pretty dress and a swimsuit and like i was like i just
got my wisdom to take it out so i was really skinny and so i was like i can do it i can't
pray that was the best diet ever my god i was like i look like one of the like brad's dolls
actually no it's the steve madden dolls like because my head was when you got to eat pudding
for a week guys oh zephyr is not it go to the dentist and ask them if you got back molars i
gotta go out okay because oh my god here you are still in the health business you are still
i know walmart is selling those epic now but i got something better just get your molars out get
your wisdom tooth out it's covered by insurance so what happened with the pageant this is what
happened baby i'm telling you it's a good story so i you had to sell tickets again you had to
sell tickets to the pageant so people can come and support you so i was like this is great i i'm
smart enough to know like there's gonna be a final question so i'm like working on whatever my final
question is it was the first time i ever bought like a outfit for macy's thinking like oh my god
this is so much money it was like 120.000 i was like oh my god this is so much money i was like
kept the tag on this is how i was walking because i knew the tag was right here i said
this is my wave because it's going back i want you to see that tag it's going back i said
wing and wonder see cool circle i'll let you like that call back full circle you're welcome
i'm good at my job come on chosen adventure shoot me now on amazon so they a week before
they were like hey yvonne what's your talent i said i don't want to say what you're talking about
they were like no everyone who competes needs a talent i said but isn't this a this night's
nigerian american pressure you all know africans don't have no talents we're just getting straight
a's we got no hobbies and i'm not tribal dancing either because my yash was good but i wasn't
i wasn't prepared to do that on stage and they were like yeah well what are you gonna do everyone
who competes needs a talent so either you're not going to compete but my problem is i just i sold
tickets so my mom was coming so we're gonna do something and i so now i'm like in my master's
program so me and jesus we've had a relationship for a long time so this is when i'm like hey
hey god how are you glad we had this chat um they say this is when uh you really come through for
people uh people are coming to see me i don't have a talent i need your help what's my talent
gonna be before i finished the prayer he said do comedy and i said hey no um try again i was like
god i i just got over being like the like the the the muck of being rejected i'm not going to
willingly put myself in front of africans who are the worst i'm not going to willingly put myself
in front of no because like if you want in front of americans they're like oh she wasn't really good
if you bought in front of africans whose daughter is this nonsense nonsense i spent my money for
this nonsense i want my money back meanwhile you're still on stage doing it live can she shut
up is there anybody else no put my daughter on yeah she's better than this hoe and so then how
did you decide on actually doing it because god said i'm not going back and forth i ain't going
back and forth with you
i'm not going back and forth
he said either you're going to learn to trust me or you're not dang and the voice went away
like like people like you heard yes i heard a voice you think i willingly put myself it really
was you heard a voice he said i ain't going back and forth with you hoe not like that but he said
either you're going to learn to trust me or you're not and that was the moment that was like the the
fork in the road with our relationship like are you riding with me or you're not riding with me
because you sing these songs like it's all you lord i will trust you lord you can have my life
can i or can i not
right and because people had failed me like up until that point in my life i was like i gotta
trust him and what i got to lose so i spent the next week walking around my house and my mama
trying to figure out what is funny with that dual lens of being both nigerian and american
because it's the miss nigeria in america pageant right did you kill killed like baby here's the
thing i didn't i didn't anticipate laughter so i studied my set like it was a script so
people laughed yes and my mom was like so proud she was like i'm gonna do this i'm gonna do this
she was like ah my daughter yes she got that joke for me because you know we were amongst
family and friends yes so all the other parents were like
we do we do that
yeah it was great we're in
same company right so I was like
oh this is cute guy came through okay
I'm gonna pay my tax and then
um I was like God if this is
really you because then people like really were like
do you do weddings I was like
book me book me hold on
come here come here come close
yeah I'll take care of it
not went straight to the tinder profile
yeah I'll have to take care of you
if you don't tell me what
your parents say
they don't know
oh my god
your neighbors are like what in the hell
no they know they do
oh my god are they black too oh not one of them
so it worked out good
because we were amongst family and friends
I did the set again at the DC
improv because I entered another
competition it was DC's funniest college
student and part of winning
pro college students is that you get to
perform at a DC improv again I invite
all of my family all of my friends and anyone who else
wanted to pay for tickets right my mom and dad
were there they were not as
thrilled because now we're in mixed company
right and I was like you know
my parents really want me to be a doctor
and so they like literally at the
end they're like so is it a box
team for bringing you to this country
I was like wait what
so it fucked up everybody
you're telling them and I was like I think my dad's
about to beat me also I'm gonna
live at the club now because I don't want to go home
right so it didn't end well it wasn't
it wasn't great and so then
I did this thing of double dutching
again I'm working I went to Liberia
and I was like it's just a hobby
it's just a hobby and then finally my
cousin thank god for her
thank you Ifatu she said
Yvonne unless you marry a doctor
or become a doctor they're never gonna
be happy so please go do what you want

order I was not great but I said up
enough money after three weeks to be
like I'm moving to New York so that's so
I had the plan and I was like mom dad I

dad is a cook so he was making I
remembered vividly he had to skill it

as an entertainer Wow I thought the
skillet was gonna come in my head and
so that's I was like women girlfriend

station
oh my god I didn't think it all the way through there I only worked for three weeks I only had money for the acting class I only had money for the acting class I only had money for the acting class
There was no Uber back then.
I think it was stuck.
I was like, so.
But also, like, what about the apartment, the metro card?
I got on the bus with nowhere to live, and I was like, I do have four hours to figure it out.
That's why when people, when I say stuff now, I think people, the way my God is set up, like, anything can change.
So, like, please stop telling me about, like, what's normal or what's, like, what the industry is.
I'm like, cool, cool, cool, cool.
I was never normal, bro.
Like, so I don't actually know what normal is, because my normal, like, my, like, the spectrum of normal is so, like, it's his.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, I got on the bus.
My dad gave me a ride.
It was a very somber ride.
Thank you, daddy.
You know, he gave me, I'm daddy's girl.
I'm his only daughter.
I'm with him all the time.
Right, right.
You can reach me my real way.
I don't care how you get here.
No, no, no, no.
No, you're not going to do me like that.
You are not.
You are not.
So, I got on the bus, and I was like, you got four hours.
And I put on Facebook at the time, because that's what we were using.
Right.
And I was like, hey, if anyone has an extra room or a bedroom or a couch, you know, I'm coming to New York to be an actress.
And this woman that I met my last day before I left Liberia sent me a message, said, call me.
Jackie, I'll never forget you.
Jackie Corey.
And I called her.
She was like, hey.
When do you get here?
I was like, uh, at 7 o'clock.
She was like, yeah, you can stay at my place.
My daughter's in college, and so we have an extra room.
But I was already on the bus.
Got made away.
I have people right now that are like, I'll move to New York when I have enough money.
I say, you're never moving to New York.
Never.
Because, like, you're never going to have enough money.
I got to, like, build an ark.
But what's rain?
Build a motherfucking ark.
Right.
So, I lived with Jackie for six months rent-free in New York.
Like, got made away.
Wanted it!
Yeah, you will.
I'm going to tell you right now, I know some of that story you have told before.
Yeah.
But I ain't never heard it told like that.
You mean that Stendhal version?
I ain't never heard it told like that.
That was the full album version.
Right.
You know what?
I'm ready to play this game.
You ready to play this game?
I'm still eating.
Well, come on, girl.
Come on.
Bring it with you.
Bring my plate?
Yeah.
I'm such a hungry African.
For 60 cents a day, you too can sponsor.
Oh, my God!
I'm going to tell you this right now.
Good luck editing.
If this is just a little taste, I cannot wait for this comedy special.
Alhamdulillah.
Hallelujah.
That's what it's going to be called.
Okay, hold on.
Wait.
Hi.
I need you to cover me.
No, no.
I want you to stand up.
No, no.
Stand up.
Cover me!
No, I want you to stand up.
That's a day.
Show the people.
Show the people if I know.
Stand up.
Come on.
Come on, cleaners.
You walk over.
You're walking over.
But you're living back.
Come on, Inga.
This is not tennis.
No, it's something like it.
You know, I know you love tennis.
I love tennis.
So I figured for our game today, we're going to play a little game called Over the Neck.
It's like above the rim?
Kind of.
Here's the thing.
I'm a purist.
Okay.
And so I really don't do paddle or pickle.
Come on.
I know you.
I know you.
Can I have a tennis racket, please?
Fly in a tennis racket.
Okay.
Well, we'll see how well that helps you since we're literally right here.
Let's figure it out, baby.
Yeah, okay.
In this game, it's our take on trivia.
Okay.
So we'll get a trivia question.
And in order to answer the question, you've got to win the rally.
Who got game?
She got game.
Who got game?
Yeah, I saw you.
That's all.
I don't know.
That was from the Above the Rim soundtrack.
Yep.
So first question.
What country was the setting for season three of The White Lotus?
You ready?
Yeah, let's do it.
You want to use the racket?
I mean, let's figure it out.
See how you lost that already?
What?
You just lost that.
It's not.
It's in.
No, that was above the line.
Cross the line.
Oh, that was the practice round.
Okay.
You still want to use the racket?
Bloody hell, Batman.
You ready?
Yeah, I think so.
I think so.
You came in my head.
It's to me.
Wait, but you got.
I'm not in the olive tree.
It's to me.
Okay, all right.
Didn't know my own strength.
I'm not even like a man.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Did you get me?
Mice of Man.
Steinbeck reference.
We are a family like a giant tree.
I can't not with you.
Branching out to the sky.
Okay.
All right.
Soft.
Oh.
Oh.
Thailand.
Oh, yeah.
All right.
That's a point for me.
Mm-hmm.
Yep.
It's not how you start.
It's how you finish.
It's what they say.
That's what I know.
All right.
Next question.
Let's do it.
Which popular comedic creator went to NASCAR in white face?
Are you going to serve this time?
No, it's okay.
No, you go first.
Submission.
That was out.
You know the answer?
Can I phone a friend on this one?
Phone a friend.
Hey, friend.
You know the answer.
Nope.
Who knows the answer?
Is there a friend?
Hey, Drewski.
Yeah, I feel like the answer is Drewski.
Yeah, that's the point.
Yeah, that's me.
I got a ball.
Yeah.
Blue ball.
I hope not.
I don't know also why I went down like that.
Yeah, very seductive.
Hard to snort.
Hard to snort.
I snort.
I'm not ashamed of my snort.
I snort.
Do you snort?
No, I snort.
I don't.
I mean, but not cocaine.
But just, you know.
For clarity, just in case anybody was wondering.
A good snort.
Like, that's how you know the laugh is real.
Like, when you're like a, that's so good.
It's a deep, real laugh.
Like, I like you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And that was very funny.
You're welcome.
Speaking of funny, because you and Issa Rae are such a good pair.
That's my boo.
On screen, like, y'all have such a good chemistry.
And it seems almost unnatural how natural y'all are.
Yeah.
Kind of like us.
Exactly.
I just have that effect on a lot of people.
The reality is that the limiting reactant is me.
And I am so gracious.
I love how you worked in that organic chemistry.
You got me.
I love how you, you know.
Baby, let me tell you right now.
The one part of the class you did stay, you stayed paying attention to.
Don't call no EMT.
No, no.
Call the EMT.
Definitely call the EMT.
How did y'all capture that kind of relationship?
I was a fan of hers.
Obviously, when Aqua Black Girl came out.
Not knowing that she was a fan of me.
Because I had posted this, like, video before I went to Liberia.
Ka-ka-ka-ka-ka.
Once you're in country, before I went, I posted this video because Obama was about to become president.
And I was like, I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to do that.
And, like, Africans everywhere are going to, like, start claiming him.
Like, Obama.
Obama for president.
Obama.
Obama is my brother.
Like, it was like, let's let it happen.
And it did happen.
So, anyway, unbeknownst to me, she's from Senegal.
She's half Senegalese.
And so, she really liked it.
And this was when, like, a YouTube clip, like, people could see it.
Right.
Because there was.
That's Earl.
Who the hell?
That's Earl.
Apparently, he's like what you're saying.
He's richer when you're right.
Is Earl a human?
Earl is a chicken.
Copy.
He's a rooster.
Because I didn't know.
I didn't know what.
I didn't know what the sound it was.
You were acting like you didn't notice it.
That's why I was, like, confused.
Anyway.
Cool, cool, cool.
Anyway.
So, Issa started following me on YouTube.
Right.
Moved to L.A.
And I was like.
I sent her a tweet.
And she was like, oh, my gosh, girl.
I think you're amazing.
Do you want to come over?
I'm having, like.
She really did have wind downs with her friends.
Yep.
And I was like, oh, my gosh.
Twitter works.
Like, you can just hit up people.
They come.
So, I went to her house.
And, of course, her friends were like, how y'all know each other?
And I was like, social media.
Out of your mind?
She was like, you think I just invite strangers from my house to my house?
And I was like, well, I thought that's what I was, so.
Right.
And that's when she shared.
She was like, no, I've been following your career.
I think you're really funny.
Wow.
So, it was really, like, an aha moment for me.
And then we just became black girls who, like, respected and honored each other in Hollywood
on the come up.
Right.
At that wind down, I got to see how she and her friends interacted.
So, when I went to do the audition, I already kind of had a language in my mind.
Because it's nothing at all like how me and my friends interact.
If you.
If you say some stupid stuff to me, we're not friends anymore.
But I could see that, like, oh, this is the language that they use amongst their friends
group.
Right.
And it is love.
So, because I remember that first audition, like, people were, it was a scene where Issa
and Molly were in a car.
And people were doing it in the, because, again, this is my first, like, acting thing.
Right.
And I was like, I think Molly comes back for another scene, right?
Does she get killed in the first episode?
Because they were fighting, like, I hate you so much right now.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I was like, I hope she comes back.
Right.
So, I was like, hey, man, I don't know.
I don't know if this is what they want, but I have to trust my own gut and my own instincts.
I was like, I'm just going to play it kind of, like, fun.
I'm going to go cute.
Six seasons.
Five.
Six seasons.
Okay.
Issa, did you call Scott?
You see me willing?
You see me willing?
Six.
I see what you're doing.
Six seasons.
Who will be Molly's love interest for season six?
Period.
He's bad enough for you.
Maybe.
I don't even know who that is.
Okay, next question.
But this was a hair, though.
He was a man.
This was an outfit.
This was an outfit.
Finish this line.
Yeah.
And name the movie.
Okay.
I'll play you one game.
For your heart.
I'm a basketball baby.
Come on.
You have to play the damn game.
Wait a minute.
It's not rapid fire.
I'm sorry.
You know that's my favorite movie.
If they lose the footage from Love and Fire.
I love a basketball.
I am Monica Wright-McCaul.
Don't be mad, ma.
She just mad because she bow-legged.
My favorite movie.
Well, let's see if you can get the point.
I know every line.
Okay.
Oh, you serve.
No, you serve.
No, you serve.
No, you serve.
No, you serve.
You're my guest.
Be my guest.
Be my guest.
I insist.
Put your man into the test.
Yeah.
We're the same person.
I cannot.
Out.
He wasn't mad enough for me.
No, she wasn't.
Out.
Okay, put your little point in there.
We're going to play to three points.
Okay.
You got two.
I got one.
Okay.
I'm getting hot.
Take your sweater off.
I can't.
Chicken Little, take your sweater off.
I'm committed.
I know.
I know what it's like when you're committed to the outfit.
I'm committed.
And there might be some situation up underneath this.
I mean, I committed to this outfit, I was like, oh, he's moving.
Oh, the crunches.
Oh.
All right, give us a negative.
These are not Tiana Taylor abs.
These are, I'm doing the best I can with what I got.
I got abs.
It's an ab.
Next question.
Sorry, okay.
Because the way she hit that question.
She said, okay.
Question.
I was like, okay, okay, Sister Mary Clarence.
Next question.
Kim Kardashian's latest Skims underwear features what unusual detail?

Wah, wah, wah.
Yeah, and then it has--
Do I get a chance to steal?
Wait, hold on, I wasn't done.
No, you were wrong.
It also has, like, all of this.
What?
What's this?
It's like breathable, like, ca-ca.
Breathable ca-ca?
Ca-ca-ca-ca.
And then it had, like, all the shades.
Nope.

You wrong.
No, it did have nipple piercings.
Nah, come on.

Like, like, recently?
And I am seated.
At the right hand of Jesus.
In a conversation with Andrew Garfield,
it was in reference to her having a seat.
But wait.
There's more.
People been saying I'm seated before that.
Yep.
Oh, is this, it's like, it's not a real claim.
Maybe.
Match point.

You can find your preferred Precise Probiotic at a Walmart near you.
Chronic migraine is defined as having 15 or more headache days per month, with each headache lasting four hours or more. It is diagnosed based on frequency and duration of symptoms.
Botox (botulinum toxin A) is prescribed to prevent headaches in adults with chronic migraine by reducing muscle contractions linked to pain.
Serious side effects may include difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems, or muscle weakness, which can indicate a life-threatening condition and require immediate medical attention.
Patients with pre-existing conditions such as ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome are at higher risk for serious side effects from Botox.
