You Will Transcend Your Cards

In this podcast episode, Robert Lee Camp discusses the spiritual practice of accepting reality without resistance. He begins by recounting a lesson from his teacher, Alaya, who, despite being an awakened soul, acknowledged that she could still face the same painful experiences again. This insight helped Robert realize that the spiritual path isn't about avoiding challenges but about no longer fighting them. He encourages listeners to observe their daily reactions: are they accepting what is or resisting it? He quotes Eckhart Tolle, noting that fighting with reality is insanity. Robert connects this to the card system, which he describes as a mirror for duality—showing our attachments to pleasure and aversion to pain. He shares his own recent accident, which caused severe physical pain, and how he uses it to practice choiceless awareness, or awareness without attachment to outcomes. He notes that even though he still uses cards and astrology for readings and personal insight, he has reached a point where being present in the moment is more important than analyzing the cards. He concludes by encouraging listeners to let go of the need to have everything figured out, as miracles happen when we stop clawing for control. The episode ends with a brief share from a participant about author Stephen King's similar experience with a life-altering accident and his recovery through reconnecting with his passion for writing.

[BLANK_AUDIO] Well, I forgot something. [LAUGH] Hello, makeup there, Robert. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] Welcome everybody, I hope you're having a wonderful Monday, wherever you are. It was 70 degrees here today in Florida. Little warmer than we thought. But it did get cold here, we did have some really cold weather. For Florida, it's a little warmer. And all the lizards fell out of the trees and they, they took that as an opportunity to call them so that there was not so many of them. They're an invasive species down here. Let me see, what do I want to do here? Okay, still letting people in here. So for those of you who might be relatively new to our podcast, the past episodes are on Spotify. And there's, believe it or not, there's over 140 episodes on Spotify, recordings. And we've taken all of those and we've made them into videos of just the topics that I'm talking about. And I'm releasing those on my YouTube channel. So if you're on YouTube, just search for my name, Robert Lee Camp. And you'll see a bunch of videos and there's new ones. There's, I've been putting one new one out every week there. And some are about cars and some are about spirituality and so forth and so on. So take advantage of these free resources. They will definitely aid you in your card knowledge for sure. And you might find some inspiration from the other ones as well. Okay, yeah, still below freezing in New York City. Yeah, believe it. I believe it. So where to start with this topic? This is a very important topic. Okay, so I have a spiritual teacher in Asheville. You guys have heard me talk about her before her name was Alaya and she's, she's an awakened soul. And, you know, I used to see her every week for like years, for at least two years, every week. We was me or me and Lena, my wife would go together and see her. And, you know, I got to know basically her life story, how it went, you know, in the earlier years. And then when she started to wake up and how things evolved and so forth and so on. And I remember once I said, you know, I was looking at her and I said, you know, she talked about a really difficult time that happened. One of her daughters got really sick and was close to dying. Like she could have died. Her condition was so severe that she might have died. And I, you know, having a having children of my own, I know how that can be just the most intense thing you could ever imagine is the possibility of when your children dying. And I said to her, well, aren't you glad that, you know, that you, I don't know the exact words I used, but basically what I said to her was, aren't you glad that you've evolved past that and you won't have to experience that again. And she said, oh, I don't know that. I don't know that I couldn't experience it again. It could happen again. Anything can happen. And it just blew me away when she said that because I had this image of her being somebody that had reached a certain level like she got a graduation certificate or something and she was never going to have certain kind of problems again or certain kinds of challenges again. And yet her response was, I have no way of knowing and I don't even, I don't need to know. And I don't need to know. So that really stuck with me, her response to that really hit home for me and it helped me to kind of realize that on the spiritual path. You get to a point where it's the same stuff can happen. The same stuff can happen to you that's happening your past, but you're not fighting it anymore. You're not against it. You're not, you're not, you know, you may not enjoy it. You may not like it. But you're not pushing against it anymore. You're not pushing against life. So it comes down to, and I realized this, the more I thought about this tomorrow, I realized this is something that all of us face every single moment of the day. And that is we have this choice that we have to make. Are we going to accept what's happening? Are we going to embrace and accept and acknowledge what is happening around us? Or are we going to resist it? It just comes down to that little bit. By the way, the show is going to be a little shorter tonight because I'm actually recovering from a pretty severe accident. It's a long story at all. I don't want to get into it. But I'm just going to do my talk and then we're going to call the night. Okay. So some time around half an hour. So I can go get some rest. You could probably hear my voice. It's kind of weak from this accident I had. So anyway, it's like every just look look back over your day, look back over your day today and look how you had these things happen. Little things, big things, little things, big things. And every time they happen, you had a choice, whether to accept or embrace, acknowledge or to resist and push against. Right. And, and you know, like Eckhart Stolley says, he says, he says fighting with reality is is insanity. You know, fighting fighting with reality is insanity. Yeah, for fighting with what is whatever that is, you know, however, you might describe it. However complex it was to get into that situation, whatever situation you're in in that moment or in this very moment. To resist that is insanity because it is what is real. What is happening is what is real. Everything else is all mental chatter. Think about it. So I'll just mind chatter. Okay. You know, they say to a saint, a lump of coal and a lump of gold have the same value. They have the same value. The same doesn't get excited about a piece of gold or unhappy about a lump of coal. You know, this is, this is an awareness. And you know, what's it's so cool. What's I think is really cool about it is that we have we we have opportunities. Every single moment to practice this every single moment I can ask myself, okay, this is what's happening. Am I fighting it? Am I judging it, blaming it? Am I putting a label on it, trying to categorize it? Or am I okay? Am I allowing it to be? Think about it. Are we allowing our life? The light that that we're drawing into ourself specifically for us, like the light that you live and I live each one of our lives is specifically designed for us as an individual. It's our individual relationship with the world, you know, and when you get into the card system, you're looking at the DNA of duality. You know, I mean, when you look at the grand solar spread, the life spread, the spiritual spread, you go to that life spread. And there you have duality in its full blown expression. Okay. You have duality. And that's the world that we live in for the most part. And that's the world of duality. good and bad. I like, I don't like, I hate, I wish I didn't have, I wish I had hopes and fears. All this stuff is all there. And the card system is a direct interface to this world that we live in. It's all set up. It's in it's only on planet Earth. The card system is all the good on planet Earth because only planet Earth has the 365 days, 52 weeks and so forth and so on. See, I mean some planets don't have any, they don't even have seasons. You know, if you don't have a tilt to the planet, there's no seasons. There's no changing like that. So here we are, we are using the cards as a mirror and it's a wonderful mirror. I mean, it really shows us how attached we are to a certain expressions of reality. We want reality to be like this and not like this. We want to have this show up. We wouldn't, we don't want that to show up. We want to have these people show up and we don't want these people to show up. And so we have all these guards and protection around us. We try to create our life in such a way that we don't have the bad stuff that we don't want and that we have more of the good stuff that we do want. We want pleasure, we want joy, we want happiness, we want fulfillment, we don't want sadness, we don't want pain, we don't want depression, we don't want anger, we don't want fighting, we don't want things that don't give us what we want. It's a long list. It's a long list. I remember I had a friend and she was always like, I don't like that, I don't like that. And I said to her one day, you should think about this list of things you don't like and maybe make that a little smaller. Like why not have a list of things you'd like be bigger and things you don't like be smaller? As a choice, as just a choice, you know. So I've been in an extreme pain for the last two weeks. I'm not going to go into to why, how, but it's still happening. I'm on pain killers right now. I'm kind of stoned right now from some pain killers I'm taking. And I'm getting treated and so forth. So it was really good for me to feel this pain. It was really good to feel it and to kind of like see like, okay, what's my relationship with physical pain? This is physical pain. This is not psychological pain. This is not, I got my feelings hurt. This is just physical pain, okay, like a toothache, something like that or something that's broken, so forth and so on. So it's been really good to watch myself reacting to what is and what is is the pain. A lot of pain. Now I'm sure some of you here also might be experiencing pain in your life. Physical pain. There's also emotional, but you know, most pain that we experience in life is what's called psychological pain. And that is like we have an expectation in our mind and it doesn't go the way we plan. That's, I mean, that's basically it. So it's, it's selling so simple, but it's so profound actually. It's so profound that you know, we're resisting life because we have, we want it to be a certain way. We want it to turn out a certain way. We want it to have the things we want to have and don't have the things we don't want to have. So when I look at my teacher, Alaya, she's a five of diamonds and I've watched her very carefully over the years, you know, and I know lots of five of diamonds people have had lots of five of diamonds friends. They're my Uranus card and my life's red. And she displays none of the negative traits of a five of diamonds. None. She does display a lot of traits of five of diamonds. Just not the negative ones. Like when she got married, she told her husband, I'm not making any promises. No vows. No vows. That's a five thing, right? I'm not going to be constrained by some, you know, patriarchal system of promises, whatever you want to call it. Yeah, that's the way she decided to have her wedding and she's still married, happily married. And I think it's been over 20 years. So, you know, but even, even I've heard her say, my daughters are almost grown and when they reach, when they really are on their own, I might just decide to take off. You know, like a five, you know, go on a trip. I mean, five's love to travel. They absolutely love traveling. They love changes. They love new experiences and so forth. One of my teachers in the past, his way of saying this was he called it choiceless awareness, choiceless awareness, awareness without an attachment to a certain outcome, choiceless awareness. I thought that was a really good way of saying it, choiceless awareness. So yes, we do. I mean, how many of you think about it? How many of you pay so to close attention to your cards? Or maybe you don't so much anymore. Like you're just kind of okay with what happens. I mean, on the very beginning of my saddened period, I had a pretty intense accident. Okay. That's what happened, you know? And it was like a, there were a string of other things like that. But what am I going to do? Am I going to fight with your reality? Bianca, did you want to share something? No, I accidentally um, okay. But I old, uh, the right just checking. I thought maybe you had some words of wisdom for us here. So thank you. I'll think about it for a minute. Okay. Very good. So choiceless awareness. And honestly, I couldn't tell you what my cards are right now. I know I'm in the saddened period. I looked at them. I know they were okay cards. That's all I can tell you. I can't tell you what cards are. I'm not that, I'm not saying I'm better than anybody else. I'm just saying that it like being in this moment right now is way more important to me now than the cards are about this movie. The story about this moment. Okay. And I think that, uh, I think that naturally happens when you are on your spiritual path, you get to a point where you're just okay. You know, and I still use the cards. I love looking up people. My wife and I will talk about people's cards that we've met and how we see them showing up and different things. And you know, it's fun. And but there isn't this, there isn't this indeed to put them in a box labeled bad or good, you know, because you know how it is, like you could say, well, that person's my Saturn card, you know, that's a bad, they go in the bad box. Right. You never know. You just never know. You never really know how things are going to turn out. So I think it's much more productive to be in the, I don't really know place that it is to come to a conclusion that's negative about yourself or about others, whatever. I mean, even with the help of astrology and the cards, I make, I make, I do readings for people. I, I help them make decisions about relationships. I give them the information I have. They have to make that choice themselves. But I tell them what usually shows up with this particular connection in the cars and this particular connection in astrology. And you know, then I leave it to them to choose for themselves. Sometimes they're going to choose the relationship that's really hard. And they don't even know why, but they have to. They have to choose the hard relationship for certainly the time. How many of you have been in that situation? I have, you've been in a relationship that you, it really wasn't going well. But something inside of you said, I have to have this experience. I have to be in this relationship for some reason, karma or whatever. There's a, like, there's something much more powerful than our conscious mind that is guiding and, and, and setting up all these things for us. Seeing. So I, I really think that all of us, all of us will eventually transcend the cars altogether. We may still play with them. You might be an awakened card reader. You might be an card reader that doesn't need the cards at all. But you see that it subsurface to other people. So you utilize it with other people. You see, who knows, who knows where that is going to lead. I have, I mean, from, from a very, from an early age, as soon as I discovered astrology, I was hooked. As soon as it was mentioned to me, in passing that somebody I knew did astrological readings, just hearing that I was hooked. I had to know everything about astrology. I started studying that very moment. I went on, got some books. I started reading. I don't know why. It wasn't even on my agenda. It wasn't even in my consciousness until then. That catalyst of hearing about a friend of ours that did readings. It set something off in me. And all of a sudden, I had to know, I had to know some astrology. And I started buying books. That's how it all got started. That led me to the cards also. I've just been eternally fascinated with all of these what I call true systems, true systems of self-understanding, self-enrichment, you might say. It's always been that way. So even if I woke up completely and I didn't need the cards at all, I'm sure I would still play with the cards because you know what? I love it. I love the cards. I love astrology. I would still talk astrology. I had a reading a couple days ago. And the client was an astrologer. And that was so much fun. Oh my god, we had so much fun. I love talking to astrologers because we get like through all the terms out there. And we know what we're talking about. It's just like knowing a foreign language, you know? You and the other person are just having this conversation that nobody else can relate to. But it's so much fun because you don't get that opportunity very often as an astrologer. You do a little bit, but not as often as I would like it to be. So you know, some of you, I'm sure, have already translated the cards to a certain degree. Okay, I'm sure. I'm sure that some of you have benefited from the cards and they have taken you to a certain point where you don't actually need them that much. You know, you don't need to look at them that much. Maybe you're just using it to help other people now, you know? And astrology. And your psychic ability. I mean, half the people here, I'm sure are very psychic. I know a lot of you people. You people. That's so funny. I feel funny saying that, but because I feel like you guys are friends, all friends, feels like that to me. So I really, I still, I'm here to support everybody on their quest for the truth and may the cards lead you to a deeper truth of yourself and help you see in your own life. How, how, what areas of your life are you resisting and pushing against reality and which areas are you letting in and are letting the energy flow and hopefully to get back into the flow. Miracles happen on a daily basis. Miracles happen when we're not pushing, when we're not clawing, clawing and fighting to get things to turn out the way we have it in our head. Now you're talking to a jacket clubs who deconate here. You know that I'm stuck in my head. You know that I'm fixed in a bad way. Okay? Jacket clubs, we get fixed in a bad way. Like we, we think we're so smart and we get it all figured out, but it's figured out in a way that leads us on the negative end of the stick. So you know I've had the question that quite a bit. It's been really, really, really good to be questioned by the universe, by other people, by situations, right? To like let go, let go that need to have that thing all figured out in a certain way. You know that's, that seems to be, to me that was the key to happiness when I was young. Figuring everything out, knowing what to say, knowing the right thing, knowing where to be at the right time and blah, blah, blah, all that stuff, you know. Yeah, I think that's a good thing, Janine, that astrology finds people. Yeah, yeah, I kind of did. It's just going to show it up. But I jumped on it man. Same thing with computers for me, computers too. I still love computers. I don't do as much programming as I used to, but I still love them. Okay, so with anyone, we're going to, we're going to end soon, but with anyone like just to share about the topic tonight, don't, don't raise your hand to ask a question about your cards, but just if you have anything to share about what we talked about tonight, Bianca. Yeah, I just wanted to point out that the author, Stephen King, suffered a major accident later in life when he was pretty much at the peak of his career. There's a little bit before he started really getting into the TV and movies and he hit by a car while he was on his afternoon walk on his road by his house in a really remote area of New Hampshire. And he talks about how debilitating that was because he almost didn't live through it. And he had he had to be on pinkalers like for a little bit through that experience. But as he went through the experience and he had to fight his way back just to be able to like write a page. I can relate to that so well right now. Yeah, he was actually thinking about retiring and retirement and then that happened and he had to fight his way back and really like the only way that that he could transform himself through that event was to like grab on to something that he used to be passionate about which was his writing. And through that journey of just sitting down and writing and not even necessarily about anything like blockbuster. It was just to get back in the practice. Yeah, the kid's connection was something that he was really connected to. So his energy would come through, right? Yeah, I can relate to that so much. Bear it through that. Yeah. Yeah. And he actually helped his family members, his sons to like kind of push them into place. Like after that major event, they had to step up. And then they started writing more and producing and getting into the TV stuff. And now it's just become bigger than life and his life is so much easier because of, you know, like where it's catapult. Well, obviously that accident happened. It's kind of like my accident. It happened to sort of to change us in a positive way, you know, to like have us rethink a lot of things and reevaluate and just come back to like what's really important in our lives. I'm having exact same things. I mean, in the morning, it's a struggle to answer like an email. I can't even hold my head up. It's worse in the morning for some reason. But it's like, and I'm taking the painkillers. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, so when I got mold disease and I was greatly debilitated to where I couldn't even drive my car because I was so dizzy and out of it. And they pumped me through so many steroids. I actually, the blessing through that journey was I found stem cell infusions. And the those have like rejuvenated my whole entire life. And it was like the biggest find of my life was getting into that realm and learning about the labs, working in the labs, you know, actually infusing patients, helping people to save their lives too. So I would say that this is going to be something that you're going to through the through the healing journey. Yeah. You're going to be able to read like, you know, rejuvenate your body in greater ways than you would have ever known had you not had this struggle. Thank you. I appreciate that. Bianca. Thank you. Okay. Janine, would you like to share with Janine? You have to unmute yourself. There you go. Yeah. I have been saying for a few years that I don't like regret. I consider it non productive negativity. But I'm realizing that resistance in the now is the same thing. And yeah, I'm going to be watching for that more carefully. So thank you and get well soon. Thank you. I just thought of that board, the board thing resistance is futile. Just made me think of that. It's funny. Thank you, Janine. I appreciate it. Yeah. You know, it's amazing. The universe is so specific. Everything that happens to us is so specific. It's not general. It's not like, oh, it's going around. It's what's happening to each of us individually that really is, that's the story. That's the real thing. That's our relationship with life. It's our relationship with all of our guides and those that wish us well and who are rooting for us and with our own identified mind, you might say. Anyway, it's been a pleasure, you guys. And we're going to call the night. I would stay longer. Maybe I will next time. Hopefully, we get some treatment by then. Still waiting to see the right doctor. And thank you all for showing up tonight. We will definitely have this again. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do it, but you guys lift a beat up. So thank you for so much for that. - Yeah, you did it. Sending you good energy. - Thank you. - Thank you, Robert. - Thank you guys. - Take care. - It's such a pleasure. Have a great evening. - We love you, Robert. - Thank you. - If we do, we love you. - Have a great week, everybody. - Hey, you too. - Me too. - Bye, bye.
