She's like chronically ill. And it's like, I think a lot of the Hadid members are malnourished. I think that maybe a yes at one point they all happen to have gotten Lyme disease. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's Munch house in like Lisa Rena hasn't indicated 1000% very interesting thinking it when Lisa Rena said it. I don't remember what I was thinking. She was really being extreme like going to Seoul for all these two in a tube and getting her implants taken out. I don't remember what I thought and I didn't even know what Munch house was when Lisa Rena said it. So I couldn't have been thinking it because she was so brave for saying it honestly. It was just like when Megan Kenman said Brooks is faking cancer. Right. It's like, it was just like the first person. I don't know who was. Why would we ever think. And then when like the narrative started to be like, juicy Smolette is lying about his hate crime. Can you get hate crimes in this country without someone coming for your neck? Next thing you know, he fully made it up. So yeah, to be that first person is an incredibly brave thing to do. Well, I'm not going to be any sort of person that is questioning your ailment. I've seen it firsthand. Oh, my God. Not to rub it in. Not to rub it in. Not to rub it in. But I've seen it firsthand. You don't have done any self work because you didn't have all those ugly things before and was like for no reason. Well, and inside. Yeah. Yeah. So. I actually think I was the caramo. You were. I feel like you were the Bobby, like the strong steady force. Well, the Bobby is like the person who does all the work and gets no air time. So that is me because I paid for everything. And I wasn't on camera at all because we only had two microphones. So I had to film the whole time and I wasn't allowed to speak. So actually, yes, I am the Bobby. Yeah. Silence. Yeah. Are there of us where the Antony? No. I wish Antony was there. I was starving. We need to eat the entire time. We actually had a huge meal right before we actually did it. And we complained the entire time that we were as too full. We did have such it. Margot was running lights. We sat down and saying Ambrose. I didn't vlog. Yeah. I don't want to spoil it. You don't want to spoil what you got. But I do get spaghetti. It was so good. We were really full the whole time. The whole time. The whole day. I kind of a comfortable. Yeah. And yeah. It was really great. So they turned out to slash the toast. That's what we did on Friday. I'm outside. We literally spent the whole weekend on time. So women. And kind of like the most amazing celebrity thing happened to me. When you think about being a celebrity, of which we are, no matter how many times you will tell us we're not. Like we are. You think about the various firsts. So that's why I'm not an influencer because I'm not a celebrity. That is what I was saying. That is what you were trying to say. Absolutely. But you didn't want to put down influencers. There's nothing wrong with being an influencer. We are just not. We're literally celebrity podcasters. I'm not even kidding when I say that. I'm not. But over the f- weekend like and sales associates and yeah so when you think about the various perks of being a celebrity you think you know free clothes yeah like free restaurant right reservations and of course there's that but like something happened to me that was like just like the genuine definition of a perk and it only happened to me because I'm a celebrity I forget if it was like Saturday yeah it was Saturday and we just like had like two more hours to kill with food and like he was getting like kind of restless so let's just go we went to like one of these like kids type of gym play things and we got there and I was like you know what this is good like we have to get out of the house we're pulling up we're like kind of like so excited and the door is locked and there's a big sign that says close for a private event from like 2 to 5 or whatever and I see inside there's like a huge birthday party somebody like rented it out for their kids birthday party and I was so fucking annoyed like we had just gotten in the car and I just was so defeated staring at the sign and me and Ben are like reading it and we're like we're like we have to go we turn around we turn around to leave and as I'm turning around the door opens there was a swirly and she was like it's my nieces birthday party you can come in like use the facilities they were only using like the front there's just a bunch of kids she was like come in use it do you want something I was like me and Ben were like is it crazy I must like take a sandwich we didn't take any food and we just like saw ourselves in went all the way to the back because we were using it it was like a grown up neck run up like bigger kids and you went to the little baby swing area genuinely like first I'll save the day because I don't know what we would have done and like so celebrity she didn't say that she was a swirly but like why else would she let these like two randos in oh so she was just I mean she looked like a swirly and she was like you guys can come oh that's it but she didn't say like turdy I guess maybe I am assuming kind of like I did it with the woman at Chanel you did you guys you guys this night in Chanel nightmare scenario I told you guys bang on me really nice gift but obviously had to return it and so we went to the store we like made a whole day of it and the sales associate helping us was so great and she was like you look so familiar I don't like I want to make you the whole rig of a roll pretend I'm not a celebrity podcaster right right so I'm like it's probably from Instagram yeah and she was like yeah I'm like girl with no job and she was like oh no I helped you here last summer and I was like oh yeah I was humiliated like genuinely humiliated and that's the last time I know some people have such a hard time getting there and they also feel awkward so I just like yeah like whatever it's me it's me yeah that like I created differently every time because sometimes people are like you look so familiar and I'm like part-time placing us because we're like much more beautiful and than in person yes and so like a couple times I've been like oh I have a podcast like I'll just sort of cut to the chase one time I was in the doctor's office and it was like so swirly was like you look so familiar I was like the toast and she was like she's like your margo sister oh my god not you're getting nepotister your margo sister I went to camp with her screaming no it's humiliating but then when you don't it's just like you have to sit there so people watch people like put the pieces together so I tried to help one time I didn't do it right right I didn't and literally she goes over every friend she has in Florida do you know this person do you know this person no no have we take you go to this where either no no and then literally like halfway through was in a meeting halfway through she was like I see Nuantik talk yeah well there we have it yeah there's kind of like no good way to handle it and I will not be doing that again like that was genuinely humiliating I'm like my Instagram no not at all so yeah just like somebody podcast her things no big deal and BJ so yeah it was a fun weekend we're so excited trouts here we have to get her maybe I could try out queer I oh she will never try out for queer I try out for queer I shall never I mean I'm in denial I literally my dream blog is Olivia let me do to do her makeup and just I just put lipstick on no she is so particular about her makeup and she did her she has had the same makeup so don't ask her for an updated one you don't need it the video from 10 years ago still works she did it for our patreon like five years ago when we were in Utah she is the like genuinely the craziest method she June but my travel plans change and so we just like moved everything around and we thought we'd perfect just do a summer hiatus like a small summer break we always take a little some version of a summer break in this month this summer there will this week of shows we have next week of shows and then we are on break until labor day which is when we'll be traveling back home so we'll get settled we both need some time to just like adjust and I also want to just spend some time in the hamptons like with food like yeah just like have actual vacation so just want to warn everyone we still have two more weeks left of shows like don't fret and there will of course be patreon so we'll be working yeah and what you guys know most of the episodes latter half of the month so you'll have episodes when we're not doing this and we'll like do pop culture catch ups but starting August 17th no shows until we are back on September 8th and the good guys are still releasing biweekly so you have that the redheads are releasing we are recording today I spent my weekend reading the book and it's a great book okay and I think it's like a book that people should see in it like and you see a lot of books and when I told people I was reading this book there I go I've seen it you know good reads always recommends the same things everyone's reading the same books but then when you read the books everyone's reading it's like why is everyone reading this right and in reading this book I don't know how it's going to end I have like 10% that I'm gonna finish today I'm just like I really enjoyed this book and it's a good one and like if you're looking for which of the like books that are everyone's buzzing about should I actually read I'm kind of loving this one wow and it was such a great it's nothing crazy but it's just like the way it starts versus like where we're at now it's just like keeps changing and to like I'm almost having this experience where it's like the person you thought who's the main character is kind of not the main character it's very interesting like journey to go on and very interesting what cojourna Fred to go on and if you're looking for like a summer read that like people are talking about or a book club book that will impress the shampoo effect I'm curious to hear how the other girls feel about it but like I'm for them all to be like I hate of that I don't think there's anything really hateable I can't believe you love such a choice so much yeah it's actually always has a solid choice and she always like has us reading what people are reading and that's young and that's like good for the book club of course you know because then people want to read when it's niches choice because it's a lower lift and I think it's really quality books so I would recommend it to you as well Mister top quality literature would you say top quality literature and did you hear that I would recommend it to you journey I mean I still have not since I told you guys about my sad cover books I haven't read one more page and it's just like the 20 pages I read are now like forgotten forgotten it's just like now it's not a reading summer for me you It seems perfect, but it is it one of the central ideas of the film is that society can have blind spots even one that appears idyllic So the Ken's have no real identity or agency. Okay, okay, so this is like a male's rights movie It's a mirror image of an unequal society Barbie land isn't presented as a perfect feminist utopia as much as an inversion of traditional gender dynamics. Okay, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah That's like so it is unequal in the other way. It's the matriarchy But when Ken discovers patriarchy in the real world he overcorrects and imports it back to Barbie land creating a kind of Barbie herself is living an artificial scripted existence. So her existential crisis thinking about death getting flat feet reveals that she never had to ask who was beyond I just want to say like these are made up problems her journey is about becoming an individual rather than living an out a predetermined role It's giving words to the end Barbie control They begin giving the Ken's more rights and opportunities recognize it that they too deserve agency in purpose It's not portrayed as instant equality, but as the beginning of a more balanced society So the film's message isn't that Barbie land was bad. It said it was incomplete Barbie needed a real identity beyond perfection and the Ken's needed identities beyond Barbie Just feel like none of that really made any sense. Yeah, like that's a very thin So I don't know what the plot's gonna be for like Barbie 2 because it sounds like they fix the problem Yeah, we need to sort of just like get away from that and they they maro robby like it was amazing It was big and it was like it was a moment, but I don't really think that she'd need to like do it again. No She hasn't suffered since she's done like a million movie since big ones. They would really need to switch up the plot because like the gender dynamics I'm all set me too. Most recently in last week's stabbing and Jewish New Yorkers are feeling unheard by their city's leaders. As the decision is made, now it's on the met and partners, not with token gestures around one exhibit, but with real action against anti-Semitism in the museum, and across the fashion world, they help shape. - And it's actually extremely factual. - Yeah, and I just wanna make a prediction, I don't know if Polymarket has a market for this, but I'm done. - I have a sneaky suspicion, a certain elected official will be at the tent that's celebrating hard. - Yeah, he didn't go this past year. - Right, because everyone was like, "Bezos," whatever.
