6. You don’t have to do it all alone: reconnecting with the Universe
20m 34s
In this episode, the speaker shares a personal reflection on reconnecting with the universe—a term she uses for a higher spiritual energy, free from religious affiliation. She describes how, as an entrepreneur, she became so focused on strategy and marketing that she lost touch with this spiritual support, leading to feelings of loneliness and fear. She contrasts this with the reassurance she regained by reconnecting, realizing that she doesn’t have to figure everything out alone. The speaker highlights synchronicities—small moments of being guided to the right action or answer—as tangible signs of this connection. To help listeners, she offers a simple 10-minute practice: remove all external distractions, sit quietly, and follow what the body feels called to do (meditate, stretch, or walk) without forcing any outcome. This practice serves as a brain break and opens space for receiving guidance. She warns against seeking solutions outside oneself, which can deepen burnout and self-doubt. Instead, she encourages going inward, trusting that a higher plan exists, and embracing curiosity over control. The episode closes with an invitation to join a community focused on reclaiming life and reconnecting with body and spirit.
Yes, you're listening to me. Like, what do you mean? Like, you hire yourself, it's going to give you directions. I don't mean it as like literal direction. Okay, you go into meditation and somewhere it's going to be. So create that meditation with that particular script and everything is going to be sorted out for you. That's not what I mean, but I'm sure you felt that in your life a couple of times, at least. Like, feeling cold to do something, to say something, to go somewhere at a certain moment. And you found something that was an answer to a question you had. And it felt aligned. It felt like synchronicity. That's what I'm talking about when I say connection to the universe. Hi, and welcome to Letters to the part of me. A podcast on somatic healing, presence and the nervous system. I'm Clara Lui, a somatic practitioner, former queen of emotional numbness and over achievement. And someone will believe that healing happens in tiny, honest moments, not giant breakthrough. Here we explore the science and the felt experience of the nervous system. And how safety is something you create in your body, not just in your mind. Each week you will learn practical tools and grounded perspective to help you understand your body, regulate your system and return to yourself. If you've ever wondered why can't I feel anything anymore? Or what's wrong with me? You're not alone and you're in the right place. Before we dive in, take a breath with me. Notice your body, your seat, your feet on the ground. Let's begin. Hi, and welcome to this new episode. I just want to start by saying that I'm recording this episode without any script or even agenda for it. I just feel that something wants to come up and I'm just going to let it flow. That would be like a first for me, but that's really much what it is about. I think, allowing words to flow through you and allowing kind of like your higher self to talk when you feel that a message wants to be shared. So I hope that you will find something useful in this episode. Otherwise, it's just me talking from myself. So that's good enough. What I'm feeling cool to talk about today is our connection to the universe or to any kind of spiritual. I want to say entities, but that what is really often connected to negative connotation. But what I mean by that is just like something that has a higher energy than what we have as humans. So you might call it, you know, you might call it God, you might call it, you hire yourself, your guide, the end draws, whatever you want to call it, I call it the universe, because I think it's quite a global term for me. Any kind of like contains everything I want to believe in. And this is really aware from any kind of affiliation with religion. It is spiritual in the sense that I'm talking about believing in something that is higher than humanness, something that is that goes beyond the ring of what we know, what we can touch and see in this life. And I understand that it can be really difficult to believe in something that we don't see because at the way we function as humanity, if I don't see it, I don't believe it. And that's why I want to talk about it because I came to connect with the universe again in the last weeks. And I felt kind of like had forgotten the connection that I had before. I'm not really sure why because maybe because you know, as I started my journey as an entrepreneur, I really, really focused on the business side and strategies and marketing. And I kind of forgot about the spiritual side. I kind of forgot about this connection with the universe, with my guides. And I went into that, that friendy, I will say, of wanting to do it all by myself, wanting to prove something to myself. And what I realized is that I felt really, really lonely and also scared because I really felt like I was on my own and I had no support whatsoever. And so, you know, I have friends and family and my therapist, but really felt like I was liking, like that higher support, that confirmation that knowing that everything will be all right, even if I fail massively, even if, you know, as I put myself out there, people just laugh at me and criticize me because obviously that's, you know, that's really, that's a fear when you start putting yourself out there as an entrepreneur. And I just, I just felt like I was missing that, yeah, that knowing that reassurance, that everything would be okay anyway, no matter what happens, everything would be okay. Because I was supported by that higher self by the universe. And when I reconnected to that, it just felt so good. I was like, of course, of course, I've been trying to prove something to myself. I've been trying to do it all by myself and I felt deeply alone because I felt like if something wasn't working, I would be the only one responsible for it. And I guess the most difficult thing as you go and walk as an entrepreneur is that when you've been working all your life, like as an employee for someone else, even though I was craving for years and years like the independence of taking the decisions for myself. And going in the direction I wanted to do to go in terms of marketing and what I wanted to do that day and everything. Even though I was really, really happy with like having all the keys in my hands as an entrepreneur, I kind of missed the direction, the fact that, you know, like I didn't have anyone to give me direction. And there was no like higher plan for my business, you know, dictated by someone that knew or not, actually, where they were going as a CEO. And I was my own CEO and I had no clue what I was doing. I kind of wish someone would enjoy my life at some point and say, listen, if you want to succeed, that is the root you're going to, you need to follow. If you follow that root, no matter what, no matter how difficult it is, then you will succeed. I just needed that reassurance from someone. And obviously there is no such thing. I mean, you can find dozens like different business coaches and they're all going to tell you something different. No one can be sure can give you the certainty that if you follow ex-steps, then you will reach success in your business because it's really, really, it depends on a lot of factors. And we never know, you know, that's one of the things about you being human. We really have no certainty about anything. And so when I reconnected to, you know, what I call the universe, I was like, here you go. Here is that support that you were craving. How good does it feel to know that no matter what happens, here is the universe supporting you. It's got a plan for you if you're willing to listen to it. And if on when you can connect with yourself and listen to your higher self, then it's going to be here guiding you in the direction that you need to go with your business with your life. And I know that maybe if you're listening to me, what is she talking about? What do you mean like you're higher self is going to give you directions? Okay, you're going to meditation and someone is going to be like, "Hey, so create that meditation with those, you know, like with that particular script and, you know, everything is going to be sorted out for you." That's not what I mean. But I'm sure you've felt it before where you've just like, at some point, guided, you felt like guided to do something in your life and it led you to a successful, outcome and it can be little things, really. But I'm sure you've felt that in your life, a couple of times, at least, like, feeling cold to do something, to say something, to go somewhere at a certain moment, or to, I don't know, go to a website or an Instagram account and you've found something that was an answer to a question you had and it felt aligned. That's those little moments of synchronicity where you're like, "Oh, that's what I was looking for." And when that happens to me, that's the connection to you higher self to the universe, is that you're guided. And I guess what I really want to say with that, but guess the point is that we are guided. We have that support that is available to us. We don't have to do it all by ourselves and figure it all by ourselves all the time. If you ever felt like you're lost and you have no one to support you and you don't know what's going to happen tomorrow and this is scary and you really wish. Someone could be here to tell you it's going to be okay. Then a recommendation that I can give you from my experience is go somewhere quiet for like 10 minutes. You don't need much time. Put a timer on your phone for 10 minutes and then put your phone away so you don't see it. Turn off any music that you have going on, turn off the TVs and your screens that are on. So you don't get distracted by the external world. And the idea is that you use those 10 minutes for, first of all, relax your brain. So your brain is not stimulated by any external information that could be coming to distract you. And then connect back to yourself in any way that you feel cold to. So that I could be during those 10 minutes you sit down on the floor, you are on your bed and whatever, wherever it feels comfortable and close your eyes and focus on the sensations on your body. Like going into a kind of meditation. That could be one thing, but it could also be maybe you want to stretch and you're following what your body is telling you, what parts of your body are calling you to, you know, extend and stretch and make space into. Or maybe you decide to walk around the room for 10 minutes. Maybe that's what you need. Maybe you just stand still in kind of like a tight position. Whatever you feel cold to do really, there is no strict role for what you do. The only intention here is to remove all external stimulus so you can be with yourself for 10 minutes. And close if you can go without expectations. So I know I just talked about connected to your higher self, onto your guides before, but if you go into those kind of exercises with really the intention of having like a revelation, it's most probably it's not going to happen because you're forcing it and by forcing it you're you're contracting your energy instead of expanding it. You need softness, you need to feel calm, you need to open so you can receive something. So don't force it. Just go into it, relax. The best tool we can use in our life is curiosity. So just go into it with an open mind. Be curious about what your body moves you into, what your body wants to do. And what happens after those 10 minutes? One thing that will happen for sure is that you will feel more relaxed after those 10 minutes because these exercises are great brain break. If I can call it like that, it's a great way to relax your brain for a few minutes. So even if nothing else happens, your brain will thank you for that little break. Yeah, and I think that's what I wanted to share with you today. Just to give you hope that you are not alone, you don't have to figure it out or by yourself. And you don't have to be scared about the unknown because I want to give you the reassurance that there is a plan for you that you don't need to know where you're going. You just need to enjoy the journey and I know that sounds cheesy. But I think we really need to remember this because we are really making it harder for ourselves when we try to control everything and to have all the keys that we need and kind of like outsmart the universe really. That's what we are trying to do. We're trying to have a clear plan and walk out all the steps together. Now you don't need to walk out all the steps. The universe will guide you in that, in leading you to where you want to go as long as you're open and curious about how the pathways will unravel for you. I think that's beautiful and I think that's also like the point in life. To remember that we are not alone that we don't need to figure it all out. And I particularly see that with women when we are burnout, when we are feeling disappointed by life, when we are feeling kind of desperate for a change, most of the time instead of going in and letting ourselves be guided by our higher self, we try to find solutions outside of ourselves and we kind of create chaos doing that because we try a lot of different things, a lot of different tools. We set up expectations really high and dig out tools into a lot of different things and maybe don't really finish anything in the way. So it kind of makes the burnout worse, I would say. And also it adds a feeling of unworthiness, of not being able to, you know, if you look at a technique that works for someone that is promoted on social media, media has, you try it and you don't get the result that everyone seems to be having with that technique. Then it lowers yourself forward. It makes you feel that you are not able to get the results like everyone is doing. It makes you feel like there is something wrong with you. So it really adds to the chaos. When really what's the most helpful is to go inward, to check back with yourself, to see what you really need, what you really want to do, what you feel cold to you, and to believe that you are not alone, to believe that as soon as you reconnect with or you hire yourself, you don't even need to be really spiritual but just believe that there is something higher than you that will support you and that you are not meant to do it or alone. It gives you reassurance and positivity and yet a support, a support, accessible at any time. All right, I think I'm just repeating myself now. So I'm just going to end here. If you have any feedback, any questions on that, I'm more than happy to open a conversation about all of these. It's something that really, really clicked for me. So I wanted to share and I hope it was useful. I hope it opened up something for you. If you want to be in a space where other women do the same work as you are doing of reclaiming your life, of learning to be the main character of your life again and feel that support with your higher self but also reconnect to your body and be more present and build a life that you are proud of and that you feel happy about. Then come and join us in our communication. I will put the details below. Thank you and I wish you a happy reconnection with your higher self. Thank you for spending this time with me.
