We have a tourney, CL, were you guys on the pitch this past weekend or what? - Well, I don't have a broken foot. I have a broken towel. - Oh, sorry. - But Paige did Terry see out? - I partially told me. - Did we know how? - No, yeah, I was skiing, 'cause I'm incredibly athletic. No, I got hurt back in the winter. My daughter skied into my knee. - I do remember that. - And there was a loud pop, but I'm one of those people who really believes that like I will bounce back. I'm not bouncing back. I still cannot go up the stairs normally. - You're the 40-year-old man playing softball and practicing every week 'cause he's gonna get better. - He's gonna get better. I thought I was gonna get better. I really did, and I didn't. So now I have to see a surgeon. - You really have to get surgery? - I don't know yet. I'm hoping not. I'm hoping PT, but like, I'm an athlete. So if I have to, I'm a woman. - So I mean, it's not taking you off the field. Like, you don't-- - I mean, it's taking me off a lot of fields at the moment. - You're so kind to Pilates though, right? But you're just modifying what's needed. - I'm going to Pilates, but I have to modify a lot for like, I can't do a deep squat or my, I can't, I can't. - I can't do that. - I can't do pickleball. I wanted to do pickleball this summer. And I really can't 'cause I can't do anything like twisting. - I mean, it's giving the egg. - I'm sorry? - Yeah, like if I was your husband, I'd have the egg. - What? - 'Cause she's not allowed to get injured. - I just think tearing her ACL is a little bit of an egg. - I was saving his daughter from an icy terrain. - Okay. - Come on. - Okay. - I should get an award. - Yeah, no. - I skied down on this bum leg holding my daughter. - I mean, I stubbed my toe and fractured it. I was gonna say, how did you break her toe? - Literally. - No, we were, we went out to dinner for my husband's birthday. And I had two drinks all night. - Which is like a lot for now. - It was a lot. Like I had a glass of wine, I had an old fashioned. I was drunk and we came home and I stubbed my toe on the bed and I woke up the next day and it was like black purple, I can't walk on it. - Which toe is it? - It's the pinky toe. - Oh. - But at least you can like, that's better than the thumb. - I'm like, lifting up my toe, the thumb toe. - She's in my three year old. That's what she calls her big toe, her thumb toe. It's not a thumb. - I know, I know. It's like the thumb of the toes. - You know what I mean? - Sure. - You see where I'm going with that? - Scientifically speaking. - Yeah. - Sure. - Sure. I think we can call it that. - I actually, you were reminding me of this weekend, I went to somebody's 40th birthday party and it was like a barbecue style thing. - Yeah. - I had one hard seltzer. - Yeah. - Kirkland brand, by the way, it tasted pretty good. - I heard those are great. They're like the off brand, I didn't right? - I don't even know if it was the seltzer. I think it was more of an off brand sun cruiser. - Yeah. - Without the bubbles. - Yep. - The heartburn that I get. - Okay. - The gird. - The gird. - I had one. I literally thought I was drunk. I think I'm drunk. - You might be. If you thought you were, you probably were. Like before, I had two cocktails and I felt more drunk from the one seltzer, but it was hot out. - Maybe you didn't eat as much before, you know, there's a lot of factors that go into it. - Or, you know, what Kirkland's doing with those seltzers? I mean, I still have my Kirkland 'til I die. - I love Costco and everything about it. - Yeah. Kirkland actually has very good. My husband, I remember when he went on his bachelor party, they were raving about the Kirkland tequila. They're at the Kirkland tequila. - Well, all of their brands are real name brands, but they just put the Kirkland label. - Yeah, I mean, have you guys ever heard the podcast acquired? - No. - Oh, you love this podcast? - It's like three hours long. - It's, so it's like three hour, every episode's like three, three and a half hours long and they will, it's once a month, they deep dive into a company and there are a few episodes that are so, so good. The Costco one, highly recommend if you're a Costco fan. - I love Costco fan. - And if you love it a thousand times more, the only thing I will say about the episode is they kind of skirt over the issue with like the chickens, 'cause you know, it's like - Artistic race. - I think they treat chickens very poorly. - I think everybody does. - Yeah. - But it's like, they are just praising, they kind of skirt over that, which I think maybe that need a little more attention. But it'll make you that much more brand loyal to Costco. - But it's $5 rotisserie chicken and they never raise the price. It's pretty great. - It's kind of scary, right? - Yeah, like where, why? - Yeah. - Yeah. - Like those chickens are probably not doing well. - Well, anyways. (laughter) - But yeah, so I broke my toe and I have to walk on my heel now, like I can't walk. - Really? - And it's still like, okay, when we were out there? - I was, it hurt. I was trying to keep up. Why do you think I was talking? - It's like out of breath. - Yeah. - She was like, I'm out of breath and having respiratory issues. - I have no sleep and my toes broke in. - Yeah, but I'm here. Okay, and I'm happy. - Yeah, and on my way in, we took the train, you flew. - Mm-hmm. - I don't know what the airport was like. I was on the train with a bunch of Scottish people because they were all in Boston for the World Cup. - Oh, that's so fun. - And I don't know if Scotland's coming to New York, but they were all in their kilts. It was 6am. Everybody's in their kilts? - That's so fun. - On the way to Penn. And then I got off at Penn and there was an entire group of people wearing Brazil gear. - Mm-hmm. - But the people in Boston have been making a million tic-tocs about how hot it is. - Mm-hmm. - It's so hot here. - So hot here. - Are you on the Algo, while the Europeans? - I'm on here. - I'm on here. - Then going to Walmart. Waffle House, Walmart. It is their call yet the FIFA 15. - Wait, wait. - Oh my gosh. I haven't seen any of this. I've seen more of the college universities where the teams are practicing at their facilities and all the courts. - You're seeing the culture. - Yeah, I think my husband's been updating me on the sports, but the college kids are getting so excited. And now we're going to rep this country because they're all in our town and that's so cute. - Well, because we don't care about the U.S. being in the world. - Oh, no. - We did win though. - Oh. - Last week, who would we play in? Paraguay. - Yeah. - Yeah. - I mean nothing against Paraguay. - No, my brothers are very good. - My brother-in-laws from Paraguay and my niece and my nephew were Paraguay. - Okay, so you should have been rooted in that. - I was, actually. I don't cheer for the Benz U.S. team. Nobody does. - I mean, not nobody. But I'm talking about being honest. - We saw the UFC crowd. They were very angry. We want to poke it out there. - Yeah. - I will cheer for the women's West team till I die. - Yes. - Blood, sweat, tears. - Of course. - The men, I want them to lose. - But I can actually name women's U.S. soccer players. I cannot name any. I couldn't tell you. The only name I think is David Beckham. And he doesn't play as he's not like anyone. - He's not from the U.S. team. - He put in Miami for a while, didn't he? - Yeah. - But he was the documentary. - But he plays Stray. - England for the World Cup. - Of course. - Yeah, yeah. - I don't think he plays anymore. He's very much for kids at 16. - For me, it could still be playing, you know? Who knows? - I know that. And then I know PK was on Spain. I don't think he is anymore. He's wanted to cheat on Shakira. - Oh. - Oh. - Oh, and they had a whole battle. - Yeah. - Yeah, big like. - And you know how bad she found out? - It's the most like, of course a woman finds out this way. She opened up her fridge and some of her favorite jam was missing. And she was like, nobody else eats this jam. It's another woman. - That's such a woman way to find out. - It's so smart. But I, my brother had like jerseys for me and my best friend who flew over there. First thing, first of all, my bag didn't make it to Spain. It's like no luggage. My hair was crimped north-face on. We're talking like prime college days. - The police north-face. - Yeah. - No, police north-face. We go, we're like, oh, we're gonna like try to scout tickets. We go to like, it's insane. Like the way that they celebrate football in sports. They're so cool. And we get there, could get into the game. We're like, fuck it. We'll just take a train back and like, go to a bar. I get pickpocketed. Have you ever been pickpocketed? - I have not personally, no. But my mother did when she lived in Paris. - Yeah. It's like, while they just shove you and you think like, oh, I just got bumped because my phone, it was on my phone. Silly little blonde American on my phone. And then I put it into my north-face pocket. Next thing I knew, it was just gone. - Your phone? - My phone just ripped. And that was in the first six hours I was there. So we didn't get into the football game. You know, the phone is stolen. And I'm like, oh, that's close. - No close. And that's like what I tie my memories to. - It's like me Disney. - Yeah. - You tie negative things. - Well, every time I've gone there, I've thrown up. - So, I don't like it there. - Yeah, that's a personal issue. But I also think I tend to have watched out for the pickpocketers. - You know, that thing. - That's on me. - No, that's on me. I shouldn't have known better. - The very first time I went to Europe, my mom was on me and my husband. And she's like, you need to wear that fanny pack under your shirt, under your chest, with your money. And I was like, mom. - No, she's right. - She's right. - Listen to mom. - Yeah. - Listen to mom. - She's the one who got pickpocketed. She lived there. She'd go to France to visit her and she'd be like, she's terrible at the English language. She can't say words. Like when you listen to her talk, you mispronounce everything. It's like we're so disrespectful to all of you. - And no one here is like really soccer fans, right? - Nobody cares. - I mean, I think soccer is the sport that almost every child has played in their life. Like, did you guys play soccer? - I played soccer for a long time. - I think it's like the gateway to team sports in the US. like we will all put our kids in soccer, whether they- stay there or like that's a rule in my house. - When you're in kindergarten, you play soccer. You play kindergarten soccer, you don't have to keep playing after. - See that's a T-Ball. - That was T-Ball for me. - Well we start kindergarten in the fall and T-Ball doesn't start to the spring, so you will start with soccer. Paige has that mental low checklist down. She remembers her spreadsheet. She's already in the wheel. - We start soccer at three. Our town starts at four, but I really don't like to do a ton of sports until they're like in elementary school. Like we do gymnastics and dance and swim, but not like organized sports. - Yeah, swim lessons. - Anyways, I can't talk about sports right now. - Yeah, you're right, you're right. - For all my brain with that. I don't know if it's like, just the vibe. - Wait, do you guys have a NBA team in Washington, I should know this. - Yes. - See, we don't, like, the Wizards. - I grew up in Pittsburgh where we didn't have an NBA team, but we were Steelers fans, Pirates fans, what's wrong? So, I just didn't grow up with NBA. So I'm like, oh, the Nix, great. Like, I'll cheer for them. I don't have an NBA team. - I think ranking and professional men's sports goes. Football, baseball, basketball. I think basketball is surpassing baseball these days. I think baseball is fading. People don't care about it as much. Their attention spans are too short. They can't watch a game. Nine innings, too long. I think that's how it used to be though. Like, as a kid, it was like, baseball mattered and football mattered. Basketball, we liked, but like, we had Larry Bird. Like, once Larry Bird was gone, I was like, I like the Celtics, you're fine. And then hockey, sorry, we forgot about them. Hockey's after all of that. - The hockey's really on the rise with heated rivalry in our campus. - But not the NHL is not. I really don't think so. - I mean, we need a couple of viewership numbers. - I think it's gone up. But then also, there's so many controversies. Like, I think the Nights, right, are having a good run right now, but everybody's booing them because they think their goalie had a sexual assault case or something like that, and against him in Canada. - Yes. - And so, I think hockey's one of the most, I mean, every professional male sport is problematic in that way of their violence against women in general. But I think hockey in particular, and the CTE of it all for football. I also think NBA expanding, and that's huge in China, that's helping a lot. - I have a really serious question. What are your thoughts on grown men wearing other grown men's like jerseys? - I don't mind it. I think it's fun. Let 'em have some fun. - Interesting. - I don't wanna say something inappropriate. - What? - I don't know. It's like, it's kind of dark. My husband was reading and he was describing it to me and I was like, no, no, no, no, no. - It's one book or it's a series. - It's a series. And it's old. I think it was like, the series. - I have read the old books. - No, I'm telling you. Okay, if you want to read Doon, you can read Doon. Reading for a lot of different reasons. - And we should be happy every time page reads a book. I mean, Sam reads about that she was a practice. - I was gonna say she reads a lot. - A lot of them. - She's taking strays over a damage. - A lot of damage. - I read an entire book last week. - I was laughing when I, I don't know if you guys saw it post on my story. My daughter writing, uh, Grocery. - Why is your daughter writing so much? - She was writing. - The way she was writing. - She wrote her whole Grocery list and I had hundreds, that's the most engagement I probably had in a really long time of people being like, how was she writing like that? What are you doing with her? And I literally, I think I texted you guys up. - I texted you. - I don't read. Like she learned that in school. That wasn't me. - So much of what my daughter came home the other day singing about all the planets. And then something at the end is like a sorry Pluto, like not a planet. - Do you know the 50 states in order? - Yeah. And even to like, you're like, oh, if I were Blake, I'd go off the grid and it's like, but that's like women do, typically, they go off the grid for a long time. Taylor did. She went in hiding for like a year and a half. - No one saw her. - She was gone. And so it's like, but the men, they're like, no, I'm going to come out. I'm going to be fine. - Yeah. - Well, I think that started a change, though, because like Ryan Reynolds, the other half of it, everyone's like, ugh, dick. - Yeah. - He used to be like my celebrity crush. - Yeah. - Because he was very likeable. - He's deadpool, right? - Yeah. - They used to say that people who thought Ryan Reynolds was hot, that's like a sign that you're like 100% straight. - Oh, I used to think he was attractive, yeah. - No, I never thought Ryan Reynolds was hot. - So you're not hot. - I was like, maybe, I'm not. - I don't know. - I don't think I'm 100% straight. But maybe I need to evaluate. No, I've never found that attractive. - I've never heard of that. - Yeah, I've found him the opposite of like a John Krasinski. A attractive or an attractive, too. - Yeah, he's goofy. - Yeah. - I like it. - You like Timothy Shalamet. - I love Timothy. I don't think it's like a-- - Are you actually attracted to Timothy Shalamet or you just like his-- - She has all his hairy styles and I think hairy styles is a similar vibe to Timothy. - I remember that-- - I think Metro Sexual. - Yeah. - The word's not in you anymore. - No, no, that's why I say it. - That's what I was talking about this. Because how asked backwards was it that in the 90s-- - That was a commonly-- - Showered. - And God cared for them. - Hered from hell in his hair. - Yeah. - He was labeled a Metro Sexual. Because he did like basing grooming habits. - He had good hygiene. - Little more dads were like, "You see that little Metro Sexual over there?" And he literally like showered and put deodorant on. - Yeah. - That's an issue. - Well, that's why men are the way they are. - Well, yeah. - Because they were shamed into-- - Yeah. - Being that way. - Yeah, it's very sad. - Actually. - I mean, I feel like I've heard people saying it a lot recently too. - Mind you, we were being like-- - Shave your legs. - I'm like I'm sick. - I'm sick. - Well, that's a whole another dark conversation I feel like.
