Now, what is your opinion on ad-libs in a song? Ad-libs is one of the most, I say, important factors, game. So on ad-libs, it's important. Everybody got a signature ad-lib, something that they know you by, when you about to go in. You know what I'm saying? And just let it happen natural. Like, hey, shoot. It came from me back then, the person who I was back then. So, you know, like, and then it was Gunu, A.R.T., you know? It was just like all coordinated, you know what I'm saying? But, like, fact, I feel like ad-libs are very important. Like, it's very important. On my songs, ad-libs are going to make a separate song with ad-libs, you know what I'm saying? Now, what about when it comes to collaborating with other recording artists, which you've done in your music career, have you added your ad-libs to another artist's verse on the same song? Yeah. A song that I have with me and Big Boogie, you know. And do you recall the name of that song? It's called Bounce, it's not out yet. Now, when it comes to that song in particular, how did it become you adding your ad-libs to another artist's verse? Is that something you will voluntarily do? Is that something that's talked amongst yourselves? No, it's just something that happened natural. When you in the studio working, bro, you can be feeling like no ad-libs at all in one of certain songs, you know what I'm saying? So, yeah, in fact. Now, a little bit of different twist here with this next question. But what are your thoughts on songs with another artist's ad-libs? But no hook or verse from them on that song. It's just their ad-libs sprinkled throughout the track. I feel like that's a little bit, right? Yeah, I think about it. It's been songs that, like, was that song by Childish Gambino, right? This is America. And he got everybody on their earthquake, Tyler the Creator. He got everybody on it, you know what I'm saying? And they're featured in a credits, you know what I'm saying? But not directly on the songs. So, and there's so many artists on there for real. You hear Cardi, you hear, you know, they're not in a video or nothing. It's certain songs that you can hear like Rick Ross ad-libs or the DJ Khaled, we the best do out the song. A little motivational speech is like, it goes into the same thing with videos. I feel like we should bring cameos back, like, when a big artist or a big homie phone with somebody dig on top of any video. I barely managed to rub his hands, you know what I'm saying? Shit like that to bring real hip hop back. Now, speaking of this subject matter before we dive deeper, have you been requested just for your ad-libs on a song by Nohooka Verse or have you requested others ad-libs but Nohooka Verse from that? No, no. But sounds like that would be something you would be open to in the future. Hell yeah, yeah. Now, speaking of cameos, you said to the audience that this is something you'd like to see happen again in rap. Have you taken upon yourself to start this wave again or is that something you want to do in the future yourself or is this just something you're just putting in the universe for others to hear and maybe start as well? - Repeat that. - When it comes to cameos, you mentioned something like, we should bring cameos back where maybe they're not in the credits but they show up as a surprise in a music video. So because you want this trend to happen again or this wave, have you started, have you taken it upon yourself to maybe start this yourself or-- - I mean, it depends on who it is. You know, they gotta be at a certain stature, you know, they can't be artists on the same level as me. It would look cool to the outside people and they'm like, oh, they messed me, you know what I'm saying? He messed with X, Y, Z, or he'd be with this person or they'd cool, they'd go and collapse and so it's just, you know, little bit tees and spreading it in here and there but I'm not like reaching out like a drink bill to pop in the video, no, you're not doing it. - Why not? - If I'm not cool with them, you know what I'm saying? Like, that's the same reason why I'd never pay for a feature. I'd never pay for a feature because you know what? Say if that's your biggest song. And the reason why did I never pay for a feature maybe on the business side, like when it comes to labels, like I get them right with the publishing, the splits, and everything, but bro, if his natural is natural, I'm not trying to, you know, saying reason why I don't pay for a feature's game because when if your song blew up, say if that's the biggest song, right? You pay whatever artist, let's just say a hundred thousand. You think if that become your biggest song, you don't matter if it's a platinum hit, if it wasn't natural, if I met his city and I'm performing, he not popping up to my show for free to perform that song. That's natural. Now he sees me as business. He don't see me as a, you know what I'm saying? Like us building or whatever, like hey, if you want to continue, I continue to pay. So, no, I'm not with that. - Now this is a debate. There are some recording artists that have no problem paying for features. There are some that don't like you said. - It depends. That's why I say it depends. Like I said, me personally, I wouldn't. That's just me. But in the future, like hell yeah. If I need future, you know what I'm saying? Like those type of requests, like, you know, to hop on my song, like those legends, people who really been in a game for 10 to 11 years straight. You know, we know who those ones are. And I also know in the industry business, you never make sure business is personal, you know what I'm saying? So it's just like this, say if an artist pays for a feature, you don't take it personal. That can still be your dog. Don't get me wrong. But it's just like, hey, you pay me. And when I need you, I'm gonna pay you. They can go like that too, you know what I'm saying? Like, that's cool. - Now, I have interviewed someone before where they paid someone for a feature and it led to a personal relationship. So it started out as business and then it became personal to the point where they end up signing under that artist and breaking money together, so to speak. - Yeah. I've seen Saul's Walker do it, you know what I'm saying? Like, that's the prime example. That's my brother, you know what I'm saying? So definitely so. I definitely seen him do that a lot of times and really build for artists like he known for that. Like, he put a lot of people behind it, bro. So I'm not here. He legit when it comes to that. - And that was more or less who I had in mind speaking of him actually. I had interviewed Peso Peso. And if memory serves me correct, our discussion was he paid sauce for a feature and it ended up becoming, he was part of the sauce factory at that point. - And Peso really worked hard for that too. Shout out Peso. - At some point, I said at that point, but yeah, at some point he becomes a part of that and look how far he's gotten with that relationship and things that nature started out as business first though. - Yeah, yeah. - And what about on the opposite end of the spectrum? Okay, you know, up into this point in your music career, you've never paid for a feature, but it sounds like you're not close to that in the future. But what about on the opposite end of the spectrum, as mentioned previously? Do you accept payments for features? People that wanna get a feature from you? - No, I'm not anymore, you know what I'm saying? I feel like in a past, you know what I'm saying? I kind of watered down the market by showing love to a lot of artists, bro. So I don't really be doing features no more unless it really makes sense. Unless I do plan to on building with the artists and keeping a long relationship with them, I definitely learned that from Walt. So, you know, it's not about the money for me, it's about if I believe in a person's vision. So if I'm even responding to you in DMs, bro, you just know that I see some in an artist, you know what I mean? 'Cause I got, especially now, you know what I'm saying? Well, my, everything going in my life, my manager, everything, you know, coming together in an organ. Can you explain to the audience what the break or hiccup was there? - That's the reason why I got an album called "In a Way of Myself." I've never seen a man, you know, say, yeah, I'm about to go to this Beyonce, you know, saying concert. But, females, the woman is the one who bind the front row tickets, you know what I'm saying? Because when you think about it, some of the hottest artists in the game right now that's what they talk about. You've got the NLE chop, you got Huncho, you got Broadway, you know everybody a little dirt-y even, you know I'm saying he switched it up, he wanted to grace YB. You know you got so many people coming out with these hits even like small audits from, you know audits who come enough from North Carolina to A-A area with, you know, YTB say even, you be talking about, you know, like one day she'll like that spoil and shop and they love to feel good, cash, cash for show, for sure, a year. So that's what really matters nowadays game is just really grabbing the crowd and never keep yourself in one space, never. Now speaking of this title for this upcoming project you just mentioned, was this a title that you coined yourself or someone coined for you? I coined it myself and that's why I was saying we're going back to your question about the me having a manager and a new team and everything because me make an X amount of dollars a month, a little private jet, you know I'm saying game, find out Miami doing all of that for weeks at a time bro. It got tedious and I thought that I was doing something because I'm still living a lifestyle of a, you know I'm saying as a rapper that's just coming into game, into the game with a million dollar deal and I've been in the game for six, seven years. I'm 24 so it's just like I thought I was doing something but to the to the people is just like I had to convince them and I was serious again and it took my manager to, you know, help me to clean my business up as far as, you know, landed all in a lot and like straight up like previously were labels and everything like that but you know like showing up late, you know thinking that I was bigger than a program and nobody is you know I'm saying so I feel like that I was in a way in myself at the time before I like decided to lock in again and consistently drop in the show these folks because and when it comes to business I probably like did everything which way bad you know I'm saying when it comes to personal business game so I probably did everything which way bad bro they're not be here my Thailand kept me afloat all these years you feel me so now that I got the business back straight it ain't nothing going on I'm not you know I'm saying doing the same shit that I used to do and There's a couple of artists, you know, but a couple of artists, I supposed to do some shit, you know, me fuck with me, you know, I talk to Tweet all the time, you know, I mean, like Tweet called me all the time, that's my boy, you know, I'm saying, but I still keep that relationship with them, you know, I'm saying, I go around, they always show up. Okay, so let's start with this. Now you have a variety of volumes, a variety of series, a variety of installments to certain brand names under your artistry. Want to see if there were any future plans on going further with any of those series, starting with like Tony 6. "You brought up a real good one, bro. I didn't know that you was going to say like Tony. Like Tony is with all started. That's where I got my first 200 streams that she had. I know I'm a little bit off topic, well I'm going to get back to your question, but bro. Consistency is key, you know what I'm saying? But I feel like it watered down now, I feel like it don't hit the same for the people bro.
