We got to talk BMW championship, Dubs, Dubs, a bit of a surprise if I may say from Bell Reave. I was not expecting a ton and I was quite entertained. We're going to talk about that, got Rory in the mix as well. We're going to hear about your guys on site experience. A little play by play here from Sunday, Wyndham took a five shot lead into the final round of a Rory and Patrick Cantlay. Wyndham bogged the opening hole, Rory birdied it and immediately made the day interesting, Park went out in a plus to 37, Gary Woodland got within one, then absolutely cold top one off the ninth tee, made a double bogie, it was sick, I thought the tracer malfunctioned. And then Cantlay was kind of all over the place, he made five birdies in his first 10 holes, but also made three bogies, got within one with a birdie on the 10th hole. Wyndham boggy the 10th to drop him into a tie with Cantlay, but Cantlay have been dumped at the water on 11 at the same time, Rory birdies 11 to tie Wyndham, they both had a bunch of pars until Wyndham birdied 16 to go up by one, Rory made a bad bogie on 17, Wyndham birdied it, that was night night, Wyndham tax on another birdie on 18 to win it by three. Wyndham Clark player of the year, are we doing this? Three wins and a major. That was such a good shot on 18 out of that rough, they're like, yeah, this is a good shot of he can advance this 40, 50 yards and gets it to, you know, up there to 20 feet and drains the pot, it was, you know, props, he played some excellent, excellent golf, um, well, 20 said I, he didn't though, he just, but he, he hung around like, and he, I think they had to kind of, uh, hit the, the cough button a couple times, I think on like the T shot on 12, 13, he missed, you know, that's just all of a sudden, you hear like the, the airplanes because I think he's fussing at himself, but he hung around and he birdies the last three and, and that fist pump he put out on 16, it was kind of like, damn, man, good moment and, and Rory missing that, um, that put on 16 and then making a mess on 17, uh, it was a, yeah, I was kind of hoping for a total a showdown all the way down the stretch and then, yeah, Wyndham making that put on 17 was cold blooded. Um, so I, I, I would say, and test us out on you, Sally, different type of win for dub here. Like, it feels like he steered it into the house with both US open wins with like, oh, man, you know, like kind of kind of, uh, you know, big right miss at LACC and then, you know, at shinny, it wasn't, you know, it wasn't decisive, but he, but he bought himself enough, enough rope. Today, it's like to go make three birdies to finish on, on three, like big boy golf holes, I thought that was a, um, a statement from, from Wyndham. I was very impressed by that. It, I mean, Pell, we were going to talk about it and they did hit some golf shots, man, and he was a little off on the early part. He paid the prices, uh, you know, hit the balls, balls and some awkward spots and what's that? I said, he paid the price. He paid some consequences. Yeah. And, you know, it, um, I'm, we, I don't know if we need to go to this right now, but I did find it interesting that, um, he hits in the right rough on 14 and takes a long time to play the shot. Trevor element jumps in and says, this is the third club he's pulled, uh, you know, and placing it behind the, I check the wording on this because I checked the wording of the USJ rule on this as well, uh, you know, putting the club behind third time. He's done it and Frank Noble of in says, well, the line might be better, uh, which was a pretty darn direct comment, uh, as that was happening and honest, honest, I thought, like, I honestly thought that was going to get a review or a follow up or a comment because the announcers had said it or brought in, it brings it, bringing some announcers from Ponovedra to address it because if it got the attention, the announcers to, to mention it, um, it was, I was like, oh gosh, if we head towards like a rules, a windom rules controversy at the end and they try to crown Rory, like this might get really, really, really ugly here, uh, but I don't know. He wanted by three and he's not the only offender of that and there's a ton of gray area around that rule anyways, uh, but that was one of the more significant moments of the afternoon. It tells you something that those guys are pointing it out though, right? Yeah. Uh, God, it would have been sick if they tagged him for that and then can't lay wind, it's not Rory. I can't lay, it jumps everybody and it ends up, well, you can't lay and, and dubbed tied for the lead, you know, early, I guess early back nine until can't lay, uh, vaporized himself on 11, uh, T.C., that was some of all fears for you, man. Truly, I think, I mean, it's, it's being the V championship week, like we could have seen a three time champion in Patrick can't lay. There's money on the line, there's, there's FedEx cup bonus money, there's, we're going into the tour championship next week, it's the playoffs, nobody gets up for the playoffs like Patrick can't lay. Exactly on the line these days too. Then he make it by like on the number, can't lay. He was, he was up to 19th, I can't, okay. He was 41st, I believe coming into, uh, 43rd coming into the week is one of I think three guys that bumped up woodland was 31st, got up to 18th. That's right. That's right. So what, uh, if I asked you guys this, I said, Windham Clark is the blank best American golfer right now, as in like first, second, third, fourth, fifth, what's, without putting as much, you know, I'm not asking for a ton of thought into it. I'm honestly looking for kind of a gut reaction to this one of who is, who is, Windham Clark is the blank best American golfer right now. I got to say three. I think it's, uh, Scotty, Cam Young and then Windham and I, I will say this though, I think Windham is, uh, he's, he's a microwave man. I mean, when he gets hot, he gets going. So it's, it's feast or famine, it seems like with him, but I, I am very impressed by how he can keep a hot streak rolling, like a hot week. He just kind of goes, he just gets in it and today was an example of like, yeah, he went backwards a little bit, but he, he, uh, when that, I don't know, sometimes when he starts putting, well, those punches look like they never look like they're going to miss. And it's really, um, but it, some weeks, it's like, he's just, you know, not, just not in the mix. Whereas I, I think there's a higher floor for those first two guys and maybe even a higher floor, like God are up would be God are up and more, how it would be probably, uh, four and five for me right now. I don't know if you guys have an argument with that, but, um, they feel like they maybe have a higher floor than he does, but I'd be open to debating that. It's, it's interesting because like if you're, it, it's a hard one to answer on a night that he'd just won because like I would say, I would, Xander's a better golfer than wouldn't cry. I forgot about saying. Yeah, he did. I was, I could even have on the, on the, on the, the president's cup team, yeah, I talked about it a couple weeks ago. Yeah. And he has a very, very easy to overreact. Sam Burns had an incredible year this year and like, man, a culpo there. You know, you know, uh, Sunday night is super easy to do with exactly what you just did, um, and there is something to be said for shutting the door and doing it three times in one year. And you know, it's shit. A cock and a pretty darn solid test in Belary, if I would say, uh, and a birdie fest at the, uh, uh, you know, it's not quite real, but Craig James, yeah. So, I mean, Burns and Zander belong in the conversation, but I rewinds his heart. I mean, that's, that's the name of the game, man. Like, that's hard to, he's got to be at least in the top four, then. I think it's like, who's had a better season? It's, you know, he might be the player of the year. Like, it's him or Scotty, like, this best, you know, probably player of the year. But as best American as a different way of asking it. And I think he's probably around sixth for me, which is a, that's a high, that's a high praise. That's a high compliment, not what I would have had, you know, four months ago, if we were, run through your six for me, just so I'm ahead. It's like, I'd take Scotty, I'd take Zander, I'd take Morkawa, I'd take Burns, and I'd take Cam, like comfortably over him with the way he's got, I think that with Sam Burns, I would probably put Wendem ahead of Sam Burns. Super high floor for Sam Burns, but we're not getting it done. Well, I'm going Burns. It's very coarse dependent for me. I wasn't going to give you a number, I was going to say, like, he's the least likeable best American golfer. Damn, and I should have, I, no, I phrased that pretty specifically. I didn't leave you that wiggle room to do that, but I, I think it's very coarse specific of what, you know, where you would, where you would take him, but that, but again, like, you know, high rough at Bel Rive this week, it was pretty penal off the fairway. I don't know what data golf saying, Sally, as far as what it rewarded, but good blend. You know, greens were super, super soft, as always, you kind of, you know, gave you a little bit of cushion there in the fairways, but like you said, you had to go hit golf shots, like it wasn't like, I don't know, it was, it was better than I expected to be in from a design perspective, the greens were very, like, so vanilla and boring, like the greens are definitely what holds that golf course back, just from they, they're really, really painfully dull. And, but the, like, they, they, they shaved the, the fairways into the bunkers, they shaved the fairway into the, the lake on 11, all sorts of just pretty deep, like the bunkers were actually penal, they were very penal, really, really heavy, like it was, it was a weird combo because there wasn't too much sand, it was just very heavy sand. And, and there were some really deep bunkers as well, like the bunker short of 10 was like, I mean, you're 20 feet down there, it's crazy. So it was, but it was just so soft as well, like there's just not a whole lot of fire in the golf course, which, you know, that's going to happen in August. So, um, yeah, I don't know where I was leading with that other than to say, like, you're right, it was a different type of, of wind from wind him. What's it? I mean, on the belt reef, like it is similar to Quill, I, you, you said this is like Quill Holland, Olympia Fields had a baby and I was like, oh, I didn't say how to baby because everybody's been on me for saying, you used that phrase a lot. No, I, I said, it's like, Olympia Fields meets Quill Holland, okay. And I think it like the land feels very similar to Olympia Fields. It's good land. It's, it's a big, big, big ballpark. And it can be a little bit, it can feel a little bit, you know, there's like a little bit of a lack of intimacy at times. Um, I thought seven, 11 and 17 were probably my three favorite holes. Um, you know, part three is the greens are definitely a little bit turned up and then it's a good host venue for PGA tour, like for a big time PGA tour event. I think is, is kind of the take. And I don't, I don't like, I think it's a better golf course than Valhalla, say, even I just, I don't think it's deserving of a major championship venue. But, um, but hey, like if we want to have massive PGA tour events, this, this should be a stop every five years, every four or five years. Fans were great, logistics were good, um, you know, not that easiest site to get in and out of, but like when they have the president's cup there and was that 20 30, um, that'll be a great, be a great site for it in the fall to a little bit out of the, you know, August heat. I think that's it. Like we, the criticism of belt one, this version of Belrieve way better than the 2018 version. It's been totally redone. It was better. It was so I should have more run offs around, uh, around the greens. It felt like there was a variety of variety of different consequences. When you missed around the green, it wasn't just settling in deep rough. They had some deep rough around the green, but it was not that on repeat one, um, I thought, uh, you know, a couple like weird Bayhillish holes out there with, you know, big ponds to the left that you got to work your way around, but I kind of liked how those holes played. Like they made you, you know, I, I paid a ton of attention on those T shots. I'm like, oh, when I'm second iron with this and Roy's hidden, I give us the second hole Roy's hidden fairway wood today. He had driver yesterday, uh, good, good variety in that. And there's a massive difference in hosting a PGA tour event and hosting major championship. And I still think it's like not a major championship quality golf course. It would, it would, we would sound a lot like we do talking about Quail Hollow about it and that it's big, brawny, aesthetically beautiful, but just doesn't have like the most soul ever and doesn't, you know, isn't architecturally significant golf course and is not a major championship venue. But that doesn't mean it, uh, among recent BMW championship venue, I, I hear what people are probably saying. You guys are sponsored by BMW. Of course, you're going to say great things. I thought there's valleys. We did not say good things about Kay's Valley. Uh, you guys love Castle Pines. I like Castle Pines. And what in the greatest viewing like as far as viewing at home, I'm like Castle Pines is very cool. It was just such a change up, such a curveball versus what these guys see week to week. Yeah. Normally, but like this was, this wasn't all that different from Olympia fields for me. I know they're going to, you know, they're, they're planning to redo Olympia fields, um, but yeah, like, I don't know, Neil, like, how would you put this versus Liberty National next year? Uh, this is your home course. So you got it. It's not easy. Uh, I think Liberty's a good, that's the golf for, for pros. I, it's going to be a little bit more like water left and OB, right? You know, a little, um, I, I think this presented a, I found this golf course interesting. Uh, more thoughtful off the tee than I thought it would be. So you mentioned number two, I thought the tee shot on 11, you know, that short par four. I thought that was an interesting hole. Uh, the, the approaching to number 10 was really difficult. Like, there were some spots out there to use the analogy. Like, uh, Alex Honel free soul. There were some bolder problems of like, man, you got to, like, you know, you got to hit this shot right here. And then you see what happened to Rory on 17. I think 17 is a great hole. He misses the fairway left. Everyone's worried about the creep down the right. That's not a brain dead layup, and he just, you know, kind of thoughtlessly tries to keep up the left side and it rolls out a little bit longer than everybody thinks it's going to even on TV. And it rolls into that, that bunker, those bunkers are well placed, uh, to get, to leave awkward angles. I hit one into a bunker on seven, um, like 90 or bunker shot. And it's just like, just awkward. So even, you know, I picked the wrong club off the tee. You have to be, that's a short par four on the front nine. Um, so that stretch from seven through, I'd say 11 was, was really good. I thought, um, and then bogies to be had out there, man. Like the six was so hard that nobody can, I don't think that's a good hole, but it was like, ah, I mean, that's a, it's an absolute heat check. And the greens were really big and these guys are such good putters that that, that you know, you compared to last week at Southwind where the greens are smaller. And I think that presents a, uh, maybe a, a challenge that, uh, but, but more of a challenge to these guys that I, I want to watch them around the greens. But I will take the fans this week over what you saw last week. And I think I left, even on Wednesday feeling like this is a great sporting arena, good viewing spots, good finish, like there's, like you said, there's bogies, there's volatility down the stretch. And, uh, the people showed out, I'm, I'm thrilled for the PGA tour that they finally got the, we're letting the ropes down at the end. And you know, they've done that all season and like it's been either a, you know, a blowout or like, yeah, there's just not that many people. And then today I was like, oh, there it is. There's the shot down the fairway on 18 and there's, you know, it's, it's 45 50 people deep, uh, following the final group of the fairway. Well, these people have been starved for like decent sports since they abandoned the cardinals like three years ago. Like they haven't had any decent, decent sport to watch. They totally abandoned their team the first time they had a losing record in 18 years. And you know, they, they, they harness that energy into the golf course today. And we appreciate that. We've heard so many great things about how great those fans are. And we saw it today. You know, it was awesome. Best fans in golf. I, I, I do think in all seriousness, the BMW is very reliant like the, the Western Golf Association, Evan Scholars Foundation, very reliant upon the, the membership at these clubs and the local business community to buy hospitality, sweets, buy tickets, all that. They would, they've been sold out like since before that, as they've ever sold out. So in big support locally, yeah, like the low, like, and I think the, the club as well, like the club understood the mission. It wasn't an ego thing. It wasn't a dick measuring contest. It was, it was very much a, you know, hey, this, like, the mission is to, you know, to support the Evan Scholarship, like, leave it to us. We will, we will do that. And it was great hospitality all week, everywhere, you know, both on site and off site, there in St. Louis. So, good people, like, very interesting, very interesting place, complicated place in certain ways too. It's just, it's a, it's a very fascinating city. I wanted to check the data golf, the close thing that we've got to like benchmark here. Top Americans in the data golf rankings, you got Scotty Sheffler, first, Sam Burns is third, second, amongst Americans. - I'm second amongst Americans. I'm just going to call out like what their ranking is though. Sam Burns is third overall, Sandra Shoffley's seventh, Russ Henley is ninth, Patrick Cantley is tenth, Pam Young is 11th, and then it's Colin and Wyndham at 13 and 14. And then Chris Tyler is gonna lie. So, no, and I know, I don't feel, I don't really agree that if you're asking my opinion, of who I, you know, who do I feel personally like? - I don't know. I'm saying how to data can lie. It's their golf scores. That's like the little golf scores. - Well, how long have, how? - Yeah, I was gonna ask you that. - I was gonna ask you that. - What's the, what data are we looking at? - It's an aging, they use an aging system. Recent results are way more heavily than older results. - T.C., it says the trend line shows the 25 round moving average in true strokes gained total over the player, each player's last 100 rounds. - Okay. - So that's, I guess that's your timeline. But I just wanna, you know, so I left out Henley, I bring it up more to say like, "Oh, we didn't say Henley, we didn't say Patrick Cantley." As like, who is, you know, I guess objectively your data wise the best. But I just think, I mean, when does it get it done, man? Three wins is a big-ass deal. Like I can't argue with that. I agree that Sam Burns is a higher floor, but I still feel like. - It's, when it's hard, the people that win, but then also go away and you don't think about them when they go away is where it gets hard to classify. You know, like. - Yeah, and if you look at his 100 round, like moving average at that scatter plots like. - At the beginning of the year, it starts to go way up. He was, you know, and last year was no good for, for dub. - If we had done this question after he missed the cut in Detroit, like I don't know what, what, you know, it would look a lot different. That's why I said, it's always hard to, you know, easy to get caught up on tonight, like tonight. - What, all right, Saul, if, let's say, Wyndham wins the Torchana Beanship next week. He's the, is he the player of the year? - I think he's probably gonna be it either way, right? Unless Scotty would have to win to take it back. Maybe, and then you're like, all right, he won the Torchana Beanship versus US Open. I mean, it's hard 'cause Scotty's got so many top fives. He's got like 12 top fives. I think Wyndham's got six total top fives all year. And, but he's got the major win. It's like, well, what are we doing here, right? I mean, the best golfer this year has obviously been Scotty, but the best results is a different, you know, a different question here. - I mean, Wyndham didn't even have a top 10 until he won the CJ Cup. - No, it's weird. Craig James. So, you kind of answer my question. Like, what if he does win next week? He gets, player of the year, and then you guys like, no, he's the fifth best golfer in the middle of the golfer. I'm like, that's crazy. I mean, I don't, it part of me doesn't disagree with you, but I'm like, that, it's such a oxymoron. - We should use this to highlight how stupid this is to have this conversation right before the Torchana Beanship in terms of how stupid the Torchana Beanship is. - Sure. - The week should be like, who's gonna win it all next week? Like, who's, and nobody talks like that? It's like, who's gonna win player of the year? Like the whole thing should be about this week being the player of the year. And I think, at least though it's close right now for player of the year as a conversation, right? I mean, you know, if Rory wins today, it's like, oh man, you know, he's got wins the masters, he, and then, you know, to fight for Rory to show up from Ibiza, just completely mail it in last week. And then if he came out and won this week, I'd be like, damn, that is such impressive. Like, I think he purposely mail it in last week. - I mean, it's just, it's something. I don't know, it's making me think about a lot of stuff though. I'm like, that's really something. - I would normally laugh at UTC, but again, the driver he pulled on 18 on Thursday, and like, basically almost tried to drive the green. It looked like he's in a row, right? - Yeah, I was there on 18 Thursday and saw him make that birdie. - I'm talking to that St. Jude. - But even if you made birdie on 18 Thursday at BMW, and he hit, like, 380 off the tee, took it over the trees on 18, I thought, yeah, after his, I think, 65 on Thursday, I thought he was going to win this week. - Sully, the whispers on SIDLE week were that he was going to, like, he was going to skip again. Like, he came over the deal with the tour, he was going to skip again. And they were like, no, no, like, you can't take this deal for you to miss your minimum starts, and then skip FedEx, like, you're showing up there, or we're going to find you a lot. And then he ends up, you know, basically showing up out of spite. So, I think that's, you know, and then he turns this game on all of a sudden this week. I, listen, I bet he wins next week. Like, I just want to see the Scotty Rory showdown. - I know. - At some point, you know, I thought we were going to get it this week at first, but then, I guess Scotty's dealing with the hand foot mouth. - I can't help but see. - He's about to post-round interview with Scotty. Yeah, I got a hand foot mouth. I mean, who among us, brother? I feel that. - I think it's also just Rory. I'm sure he saw this golf course and was like, "Oh, this is what I'm about." And I think he knows Memphis is not decidedly not what he's about. You guys tell me, too. And it seemed like the heat and humidity of St. Louis did not seem to be nearly, I know you guys weren't in Memphis, but like, it didn't seem to be. - It was significantly better weather this year than it was in Baltimore last year. Baltimore was, that would be the comparison. Like, you know, they got lucky. They did. - It was, it was crazy, crazy hot and humid. I guess the, like, the week before, the weekend before, and then big, massive thunderstorms came, like, rolled through overnight, a couple nights in a row and kind of cooled it down. - But yeah, it just like the, I don't know, everybody looks miserable in Memphis and I think it carries through to the broadcast and nobody wants to be there. And it didn't seem that way this week from watching on TV at least. - We were talking to a couple of Caddy's on, like, Tuesday night and they were, they put down stories about Memphis. Memphis is like, it's like, no, you don't understand, man. Like, we're seeing stars and shit. Like, when I go get an IV, I think Harris English caddy had to get an IV, this is like a year or two ago. You know, they're just like, man, we just are all prepared now. Memphis is a, you know, it's like, nobody talks. We just, we did one foot in front of the other out there. - It's like Everest. - Yeah. - I've got oxygen masks. You guys played the pro-am. Anything significant happened? Anything, you know, it was for great snow, were they? You hit it good? - Yeah. - I did, on the front, I hit great. - Yeah. - And so T.C., we start, we play with Foxy, which was, I mean, what a thrill to see T.C. and Ryan Foxx just talked golf courses in, you know, in the Southern hemisphere for nine straight holes. I mean, they were just two, two peas in a pod. Foxy's playing, he's not, you know, everybody else is, they drop their, you know, putting discs and they kind of like, oh, you guys go ahead and hit. We're gonna work the greens. They got their teams out there. Foxy was just playing one ball, like, not just kind of, just hanging with us, man. And locked in on the best ball pro-am format. Like, it was, it was a thing, you're popping here. - Yeah, yeah, hey, you guys, yeah, he's like checking the score card, you know, like, oh, yeah, we got a pop here. You know, he's a good, good team player. And then we played so fast, like we were the second group off the front. And the group I had was playing really fast too, but we were, we made the turn 30 minutes ahead of time. So Jake Napp was our back nine guy and he was nowhere to be found. So you can see in this picture, we took this picture on 17 because he showed up on the 12th tee. - He's like, oh, my man, guys, like, first time in history. - Yeah, not as fault of always. Like the first time in history that, like, any pro-am groups made the turn ahead of time and like, well ahead of time. So we played the back with Jake Napp. And I, it was a delight watching both of their golf swings. Two unique golf swings. I mean, Napps is like built in a lab, man. So powerful. And the way Foxy, the lag he has on his swing up close, and the way he like uses the ground, it's almost the way he plays this cut really consistent. He can almost ramp up. It's like a pitcher throwing a slider. And it's like, how much cut does he want on that slider? Like some holes he would really cut it and his coach was walking with us and I was talking to him about that. And he's like, yeah, man, he just really understands like how to get the club face right where he wants it. And it's just a super consistent, you know, ball flight. The left side of the course doesn't exist. It's really, really, really impressive. - So Ollie, he, I was almost a little bit worried. I'm like, man, like, I hope this guy's as cool as I've kind of been told and made him out to be 10 times cooler than even my wildest expectations. - I knew I could count on some hyperbole from you. - Talking about sport. - And he's just a, he's the ultimate bloke, man. He's, he was showing me all sorts of pictures and videos from him and his buddies party with the Claret jug. And he's just, yeah, it was, it was truly, truly a delight. And I think we buried the first four holes right now. - Yeah, we did. I made like a 50 footer on the first hole and we were often running. So it was a ton of fun. And then listen, I, we had to wait on the 10th tee. Go ahead, TC. - Hold on. - All right, real, so we're playing with Mike Brooney. I don't know if you've met him. Salih Bruni's great, he's one of WGA guys. Olivia Fields guy. And he's just a shot of life. And then we're making the term. We're a pretty good place. But Neil and I are playing a match as well. That's true. And this is separate from our year long match, which Neil's already forfeited. Well, I just think I ran out of holes, I think. He got he got like 32 down and he was like, I think we kind of forgot to keep track. Yeah. It's just can't just can't win good conscience. I must concede because I don't know the actual score anymore. Yeah. So Neil, Neil pushed it to five up on me at one point. But before we got there, so Neil, Neil's playing pretty well. And then we get to he drives the green on 11. They had the tease up. He hit one like a he had his seed into 11 and then three putt par. Yeah, three putt par. And then I, but after that, I birdied the next hole. And we kind of start, you know, I start clawing my way back into it. So I'm one down going into 16. Yes. All right. And 16s is part par three. There's grandstand all like wrapping around this entire back of this hole all the way over to the left. Well, Neil hits like this toe shank. No, that's not true. I hit I hit a really flush eight iron that turned left. I mean, about 40 yards left. Yeah. Yeah. Like it was chloroformy, but it was high. It was like, it was, I mean, it was compressed. You know what I mean? And I was, I don't know. I was not a good shot, but I, but it was well struck. So it was not a toe shank. That's not what it was. Well, Neil and I, and so it's, it's sailing, like not only into the grandstands, like high into the grandstands. All right. I'm screaming for two. We are second deck. Yeah. So he ends up, you know, I'm like, holy shit, I think that hit somebody and now I think that definitely had something. We all thought it went over. Everyone's like, no, I think that it was over. And so, so Neil walks up, you know, you take it from here. There's, well, I thought I, I did not see the ball land and I didn't see a huge reaction in the grandstand. So I thought it was over the back. I saw some people like, I thought I saw like a martial look behind the grandstanders were walking off the tee. So I walk up there and I'm like, hey, I'm like, you guys see one fly over over the grandstand and it's hushed tones over there. And it's like, no, it landed in. And actually, it hit that girl and hit it hit a second grader. She starts second grade and in on Monday, tomorrow. So the name's Catherine. She was like, you know, like, yeah, right in the thigh. She had a nice fly. Yeah, on the fly. And I was like, immediately like the blood drain out of my head. I was like, oh, my God, this is awful. She's like, you know, hyperventilating. The mom was so cool. She's like, she's okay. I'm like, is everything all right? And, you know, kind of an overbearing martial? He's he's making a loud radio call from medical attention. Mom's like, we're good. She's fine. I'm like, I'm so sorry. It was epic. You know, people start to crowd around. And I'm like, listen, you know, let's, you know, I so I didn't have a sharpie night glove. I didn't want to give her a sweaty glove. I only had one. So I said, would you like a golf ball? She said, yeah, you know, she got it immediately. She got super happy. So I gave her a game warn pro v2. She was thrilled about it. And, you know, mom was like, everything's good. Like just hit her in the leg. We're going to be totally fine. Uh, she's like, now I have, you know, she has a story for first day of class. Second deras like, bring the ball to school, show and tell great. So what did I do? I don't have no idea where this golf ball is. It's been at this point five minutes over there. Uh, I took TIO relief. And I took line of sight relief. And you know what I did. Did you take virtual assurance that it was in the TIO? Is that where you? No, the ball was still up there. I feel like the second grader, like hitting the second. I mean, virtually certain with the, with the well on her leg, I thought you said you didn't find the ball. No, I didn't go, I didn't go up and get the ball. So I, uh, so I dropped one line. She got two probes. Yeah. Good. You know, if she picked the other one up, but she was thrilled to have the second one. And I, uh, I got that shit up and down. And I, and I vanquished TC. And then it was folded like a lawn chair the next hole. It was in nasty, nasty up and down. So he gets it up and down. He makes like a 10 footer, which I knew was going in. I knew this was going to happen. And, and I'm watching it all kind of from like he's probably 15, 20 feet below. There was, there was kind of a dip, uh, over there. And I'm up on the green. And I'm like, man, like he, you know, I just hit a mediocre chip didn't get up and down. And then we get to the next tee. Oh, and it's just a little dog. There's like 25 T boxes on 17. There's like a, there's, like, there's like island T boxes in the middle. I mean, it's crazy. How many T box just are hard? So we're way up, we're way up to the right. And there's this big, uh, jumbo tron screen that like the back side of it is all meshed off or whatever. It seriously looks like the green monster. Like it's that it's, you know, 25, 30 feet tall. And probably, you know, 30 feet wide. It's just like this big cube that's sitting up on the left side and not play from the, from the rotis. Yeah. And then they've, they've got the big sky cam thing that's, you know, on the, on the, uh, the lines on the track. Cause, you know, like CBS had some awesome camera angles and all that. They had a great build out on 18. And so Neil, I mean, he hit like a foot from the top of this thing. It was like a, it was like a double off the top of the green monster. And it bounces back to the right into play and all of that. I'm like, all right, this is, this is what I'm dealing with here today. Well, you know, you had already laid one into the creek up the right. So I was like, I just, anything but right. So there was the anti-right ball. And yeah, I did. I banged it off the green monster, the blue monster. And, uh, you know, made par on 17. And that was it. So, uh, yeah, I'm, I, do I feel great about the TIO stuff? No, I don't, you know, but I, after the hitting a little girl, I, I could, I had to get out of there, man. I had to hit the, I dropped that ball quick, took like one practice swing and just chipped it on up there and worked out. I could not believe I had to hear from other people that you hit a, hit a second grade girl. I would, I would have hoped that you would have reported that rising. Roger steel heard about it. He was, he was a guest. I mean, everybody was, it was the talk of, it was the talk of the whole. And I, what, I want people to, Castle Pines, I did hit over a grandstand and I did play that as it lied. So, but if you hit it in the grandstand, I mean, I don't know what, what else am I supposed to do there? Um, it's amazing. So anyway, Neil, Neil, how was the Goddard? And then Neil on Monday night, did a Goddard of Q and A. Yeah, it was great. Um, talked a little Jersey Shore. He, he, he caddy for four or five years told some great caddy stories like really locked in as a caddy, sounds like growing up. Uh, guys, Goddard up just doesn't seem to over complicate things. Got, maybe has a little dust and Johnson in him, just like, yeah, man, when he, he, he's a quote from, from that Q and A was like, I was like, you seem to be able to close 62s on Sunday, 64s. Like, he's like, yeah, when I'm in contention, I just get really focused. And when I'm not in contention, I just like, I get unfocused. And I'm like, what's that like? Because that would be nice to just like, oh, yeah, I just lock in when, when all the money's on the line, I just, just, I just play good. I was like, that's money. That, that must, that must be fun, man. Um, but just seems like he's gotten a little bit better. He, he talked about, uh, you know, he went to Rutgers not far from home, wasn't super locked in. And then the year at Oklahoma was like, first, he'd been far away. Um, he's, he's like, I kind of jard me into like, man, I got to, I got to lock in if I want to make this a career. And I might be pretty good. And that was kind of like the year he just, he balled out, uh, one of the Haskins and Nicholas awards same year and just gotten a little bit better every year. It's like, it's, it's one of the highlights of the year. So we had a finalization of the U.S. writer cup, excuse me, president's co-automatic qualifiers. It's going to be Scotty Sheffler, Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, Russell Henley, and Colin Moorakawa are your top six just missing out. Chris Goddrup is seventh. He's just a few points behind Moorakawa. Ben Griffin fell from fifth in an automatic spot into eighth. This past week, Xander's ninth spawn on the outside. Looking in 10th, JT 11th, Bridgman, 12, Cantlay 13, Okshay 14, Mad McNeely 15. So decent size, you know, you know, event there have been Griffin falling out of the top six. He would be one that I would think is potentially, you know, is not an automatic captain's pick. And I think it would have been a big deal for him to qualify automatically to make the team. I'm not saying he will not be a captain's pick because the bottom of the team is shaking out to be a little bit different. But I'll say like he is going to be a test case for kind of whether there is going to be any change on the US side. I laughed before I say that because I think he's probably going to look and be like, oh, seventh on the standing's going to make it. I mean, he should make it anyway. His ninth zander, and I'll probably just kind of go down the list anyways. But I think he's a pretty solid case of like some of its earn points way early in the process and has not played their best golf up close to it. And kind of the case for the the point system needed to be redone anyways. And what's the point of giving yourself six captains picks if you're just going to go down the points list. So I don't know what's going to happen there. But that was one one shake out from this week. But I got to push back a little bit on you saw it as the data guru. Wouldn't you want them to use the list? So you're just saying the points list is not I guess poorly constructed. It's a bad system to start with. No, I would not I would not want them to use the list. That's what that's what's interesting is like in this is different. But if you're saying they're getting ready to redo the system on the rider cup side. We're going to learn a lot about what they think of process, you know, and putting that together on the rider cup side here. But so it's a new task force or I don't think technically it's a new task force. I think they've, you know, I don't think they're going to go back to that nomenclature. I'd be surprised if they did. I don't think Ben Griffin should make it. I'm just going to say no. I don't either. But I would be surprised young guns. Coven Thor Bjornson on the points list. Wait, I mean, Coven's like 48th coming into the week because I mean, he was turned pro just a few months ago. So, but you know, it's interesting. Coven didn't make the BMW championship. Thor Bjornson will not make the tour championship. And those were kind of some of the two hotter names just a couple weeks ago that people were ready to give spots to didn't really slam the door. It didn't really make it easy on the captains. It would take kind of going past a few basically like what fans like want them to do is his go past some names that we're a little bit bored with and go for something that's different. Hell yeah. Yeah. And again, as I've said earlier, I just would be very surprised if they, you know, reach past some of those names to take just a different name. That's not even necessarily better. Just as a rookie and could be, you know, exciting on, you know, exciting potential. And what's interesting too, like when you think about, you know, USA basketball, like there's different positions. So it almost makes the lose. We need a 3-D guy. You know, we need a specific type of player. Whereas in golf, it's just like, no, man, like there's not, you don't have, there's no narrative around that, which is kind of there could be and should be as in like, hey, you would pair really well in forcems with this guy and you would pair really well in four ball with this guy. Like you are a specific captain's pick for a reason here, or I need you for two set, two team sessions. And it's only forcems. And then I need you to go in your singles match like that. That's a way of thinking about it. And then, then you know what I would love is for someone to come on this year pod and tell me what, you know, maybe, maybe someone else in the class says this question, but what pairs well in forcems? Because I remember last year of the Ryder Cup, it's like, it was at Colin and Harris English where like the, you know, statistically the worst combo you could make. And I still is like in my head, I'm like, why is that? Is it because they hit it similar because I get in the macro sense, they don't balance out each other's weaknesses or what, but I guess if someone could give me a cheat sheet on like what, what you would be looking forward to match up in forcems, I would, I would be open to that. I think some of it would depend on the course. Yeah. A lot of it would. A lot of it would. Yeah. But it's just, you know, are you using, you know, skills to, to complement each other and counter each other? Also, it depends on them teaming off in the proper order, which they managed to screw up with Scotty and Russell Henley. So, you know, I don't think that necessarily the US was looking at it that way. But I mean, yeah, you would, you would, you know, we talked about this on the, on the aftermath, probably with Duncan Carey. I'm just like, all right, I think we talked about with Dota two, several years ago, just like, yeah, you run a simulation of like, here's Rory's drive. And if he pays plays with Tommy, here's what Tommy's drive would look like on the odd holes. And all right, well, the bunkers are a big problem if Tommy tees off the odd holes. Why don't we use Rory to get over all these bunkers? And from there, it's going to leave eight shots within this range of, of iron or wedge for whoever we pair Rory with. Oh, Tommy's great at those. Let's pair him there. Tommy's not as good from 175 to 200. I'm just using examples here. So let's not waste that. We can use our best 175 to 200 player with a shorter driver and maximize it there is how you would do that. Like, and, you know, putting range, how often are you putting somebody in a certain putting range? Are they going to have all the birdie putts put your best putters to have, you know, most of the birdie putts would be like how you would lay it all that over. And just seeing guys, you know, you got, see Wu's playing pretty good golf. Sungjae seems to be playing himself back into form. You know, you're going to need a Nico Etch of Aria to play really well. But, uh, two guys in particular were asked questions about live golf. Uh, that was Scotty Sheffler and Rory McElroy. They had some different answers to those. But I think we have those clips here when Scotty was asked about welcoming, uh, welcoming players back if you have that code. So there's, there's chatter again about live, maybe not having as many events next year and some of the guys wanting to come back. Would you be welcoming to the tour offering the same opportunity that Brooks took up? Yeah, I think like when we talk about the best players, you know, live has, has a few players that are really good. Um, you know, I think the depth that we have on our tour is a bit unmatched, but I think when you look at the higher levels of live golf, there's definitely some players that would provide, you know, a lot of value to the tour and guys that I love competing against as well. And, um, so I think going forward, there obviously has to be, I think, some sort of penalties, um, what those are, you know, all that roll up and all those guys figured out, you know, we have great leadership within the tour now. But I think having those guys come back and competing with whatever happens with live, whether those guys want to leave or, I mean, you got to ask them, but I think for me, being able to compete against the best players in the world, you know, there's certainly some guys on that tour that can compete out here. And, you know, I, I look forward to the chance to compete with them more often. All right. And then we'll, we'll play these back-to-back, we can react to both of them, but here's, uh, here's Rory being asked something similar as well. God, he was asked about the possibility of live guys coming back and, and whether they bring value in your opinion or their guys, if it goes away, that that should be allowed back. I mean, I, I'd argue, have they brought value to live? You know, um, I think PJ Turson, a really good spot. All right, Bob. Yeah, I don't agree with Rory there. I think they definitely brought value to live. I mean, they made it, like, sure for your saga, but, you know, that's it. Good for you. It's got to be one, brother. Such a good answer. Like, it was just a perfect answer of, like, there's got to be penalties. I look forward to competing with those guys. There's only a few guys that are really, really, really good players. I mean, I don't, I don't have to check how consistent that is with prior statements. I think, I think he would agree. John Rahm would bring value back to the PGA tour. Uh, and I think he has brought value to live. It just is not in the way that it's like means immediate eyeballs, but, um, not afraid to get in the mix and keep at it, man. It, uh, it ruffled some feathers. That's for sure. But at this point, yeah, I mean, at this point, I think that's just what he's, what he's almost ways trying to do, right? It may not be totally accurate, but it reflects his feeling, right? Yeah. But the question was, should they be allowed back? And he just replies like, what value do they bring to live? And I said, hey, Bud, how to go out there? And right as that was coming out, I was like, I probably should have led with something else. And he was all frazzled. And he's like, he didn't really say anything. I was like, hot, huh? He's like, yeah, it was hot. And then T.C. let me know, like, three minutes later that he was DFL. And I was, damn. So it was very quiet elevator ride. Uh, that was one of those like, I, as the words are coming out, I just, goodness said that. I should have led with something else or just not said anything. But, hey, you know, sometimes you got to shoot to shot. I was, I don't, I don't like not interacting in elevators. I like to at least say, hot, hello. It's like, oh, I know that guy. Honestly, he's just like, yeah, one of his, this is on low key, like a worse season than he put up, uh, in 2023 amongst that massive controversy around Rome, um, iron plays horrific. Incredible president's cup record, good, good writer cup record as well. He's in that top 12 in points. Like I, he did not get selected on the team in 2024. If you remember, for Ron, Montreal, um, but again, it's kind of like that, that weak bottom of the team, I think makes it somewhat likely that he would give it to now one of those those wild card spots. They were bragging about this being kind of on the nose, uh, for wanting to bust out of live, uh, bragging about this to other players as well. You can spare me on that one, guys. Uh, you, you signed up for this one. Uh, you're not some prisoner here. You signed a contract. You got paid really handsomely, even if it's slightly less than, uh, what you were, uh, what you were promised. Uh, you will not find, Tyrell Hatton's got a long way to go to find any sympathy for me on this one. Um, as someone who, you know, it's part of a failed startup long ago. Like you got to accept the, you know, if you're going to risk, if you're going to go disrupt something like this is part of it, man. So you got to kind of, you got to wear it a little bit. I think maybe that's what, if I was going to, you know, carry, carry worries, water a little bit, I think that's what he's doing. I'm not throwing those guys a life raft. You know, like, I'm not going to have part of my way. Yeah. Like, do I agree with what he said? No, but do I agree with like his tone? I'm like, I could see how he's doing that. Did you get any of those failed startups? You get paid millions and millions of millions of dollars up front for it for any of that part. Got so much, so much sweet, sweet equity though. I don't have financial times, but it said there was going around that Yosser basically pulled the plug on live after Sergio's temper tantrum at the masters, which I think would be a generous summation of things. I'm sure. They just, yeah, I don't think that was quite, quite as all the nose as possible, but it did. Again, and I don't know why this doesn't get brought up more often. Like a year and a half ago, a little more than a year and a half ago, Yosser was offered hundreds of millions of dollars buy out for live and a seat on the PGA tour board. Only for him, like a little over a year later to just give away live for nothing. Like that. I think that was a real offer, like something that the tour would have followed through with because I don't. Well, I think they would, but I think it was like to jettison, it's for it to be gone. Like we're going to pay a premium, like we're going to buy a live. We're going on the rights to it. Like that was the thing. And it was like kind of a nod to you out, basically. Yeah. But it was kind of a, as I understand the conversation, kind of a nod in agreement of like, like they live as worth zero dollars. Let's be clear about that. Like they did a good faith, like offered somewhere between 500 and 750 million. I've heard both numbers of like, here's what we're going to value it at. But we're going to control it. And it was like in Yosser one, to still talk about like what the plans for it were. And they were like, I mean, we're going to control it. And like we're going to, you know, run into the grant. Like it's done. And that was when like the conversation ended. Like he stopped talking. And then never they knit the sides never spoke again after that. I don't think. And then just like a little over a year later, after the masters, he's like, yeah, we're done with this thing and got nothing out of it. It's insane. It's insane. He could have parlated it. And all the guy wanted was access out of all this. And he could have had a seat on the PGA tour board. And he's now just giving it away for nothing. It's, it's incredible. I was not a solution. I was expecting to happen here. Vendor lawsuits continue to roll in for live Josh Carpenter, reporter of this week, players had not been paid as of Monday of this past week for live bedminster. At least some of the players later reported that they were finally paid. They did reduce the purse this week in addition to canceling next week's team event as well. It's got some players got paid and some I don't know. I think you reported that he didn't talk to all players, but I think it was like at least some of the players that he had talked to or were aware of had not been paid. So I don't, I don't, I think it was just not. And there's also, I mean, obviously I don't know how it works, but there's two different payments, right? There's kind of your, you know, you're signing your salary. I don't even know what you'd call it. Yeah. Because you are employed by live. And then there's the winnings. So that the, I wonder if the players weren't getting paid their winnings from bedminster. Yeah, I don't know. Scott O'Neill, he pulled some more bullshit this week. You know, it was asked about have there been conversations with other leagues or stewards about not reinstituting fines, maybe letting players return to the DP World Tour. He said, you know, we heard some, he said Stuart Cage, apparently called a bunch of our agents of players and some of our players directly. Said, I don't know him. I met him once, but I don't know him. I'm sure he's a wonderful guy, but said I encourage you to direct those questions to the leadership of the European tour. It seems counter to where golf is going, but I can't answer for them. That I believe has been determined to be bullshit. And it was the other way around agents were calling the DP World Tour. It was not the DP World Tour reaching out directly to players that are under contract with Liv. Great, great move there. And then he pulled a fray. I think we got it. We got it. This is going to have to go in the lexicon. We're going to have to keep this one. O'Neill said, the philosophy is simple. If you've been around me before you've heard it, it's complete, not compete. Golf doesn't need one tour to win and everyone else to lose. There are great tours around the world. They serve different markets, different fans, and have different purposes. We believe players should have the flexibility to compete across these platforms when they are good enough and enhance the fields. Project wedge. Project wedge wants everyone to complete. It wants us to be a complete thing and not compete. As they were intending to stage their last two events up against the final two events in the U.S. against the PGA tour. Their team championship go up against the tour championship of the PGA tour. Not let their players out of any of the events go play. They just want to complete it now, guys. Now they ran out of money. Now they've lost the war. They just want to be part of the ecosystem. Can we just get along? Gosh, yeah. Stuart Cage. I was not familiar with his game either. He won the 1992 Lhythm trophy and the 92 English amateur. How about that? And he's now like that, you know, the head of player relations for the DP World Tour. Working the phones. Yeah. I was playing golf with somebody on Tuesday that like, I got to learn on my phone that roms headed back to the PGA tour for a $25 million dollar fine. We're five years into this, guys. But just a total cast of characters on the leaderboard this week with, with Sasso, Ram, you know, one, two, and he, uh, Bryson, Sergio tied for third, Richard T Lee. He's one of the wild cards was, was fifth along with Scott Vincent and Lori Canter, Dean Bermister, eighth, Blandy, ninth, leash and D3 10th and then Bjorn Helgren tied for 12th. So Matt Wolf was in the mix for a bit this week. I forgot he existed. That would have been a perfect winner for this week. But I think with Sassos is very fitting as well. I think from a, I saw the Johnny Rumble news, Sally that he that he had been playing out on Long Island. Was that last week with Jimmy Dunn? I don't know if they were at Chinatown or one of his other 15 clubs out there. But I'm fascinated to see what the, what the fall holds for John Rom. Brendan Steele indicated that he would prefer to remain at live golf. Oh, okay. Yeah, that's great. DJ got a particular kick out of that one. He sent that one over. I told the live golf championship rings furnished by Ben Baller have not been paid for. And they were not presented this week. That was per per I flush. And then Sally, you were up in arms about this one. Oklahoma City Golf Club tried to play a six. Oh, God. This way you can't have it, not doing it. If there was ever ever lied golf club. Ever something the nuclear golf was going to be all over. They were on top of this story. But did you see HV3 punch back on this? Have you seen the updates to this? Yeah, there was an up back on social. Yeah, the socials through an agent has made a statement on this they. I mean, Bear slide golf club has a very lengthy post on social media. I mean, yeah, they were standing on business for what happened here. They said on August 18th, Harold Varner had a for some book on the T sheet. When they arrived, they were 30 minutes late for their T time and brought six total golfers. We accommodated the additional group. They informed that they were informed they could go off as two threesomes. At the first he they insisted they should be allowed to play the game as a six. The starter informed them again that is not allowed after asking the starter four more times. One of the group members told the starter that he was being rude and needed to calm down. Another person from the group defended the starter saying that he wasn't being rude just enforcing the rules. Then Mr. Varner again asked the starter if they could play as a six. The starter said no, but then they could ask the pro shop if they would like. Mr. Varner asked the pro shop three separate times if they could play with the large group to which he was informed that is not allowed, especially when there is play behind them. The groups that tee off as two threesomes continue to play this way on holds one through three. When they got to the par three fourth hole away from the clubhouse, they joined together. That's just join up, man. It's all good. It's one of the members of the groups that they were just watching the group in front T off, which was completely untrue. Our staff watched all six T off and put out together after leaving four green group was informed that they needed to bring their cards back to the parking lot. They were funded. They were no longer welcome on the course at no time where they ever told to quote, get the hell off the course. All of them received the refunds regarding the claim that there was nobody behind them. This is again completely untrue. There was a group on the fourth T waiting on them another group on hold three and another two groups on hold two blah, blah, blah. Yeah, they hit back. I don't have the the link that the post that they see if I can find it here. I hope nuclear put it up. They I think they did. Nuclear to busy week, man. I mean, also fascinating that they're paying for golf. You know, I thought age Tuesday, yeah, could get a, you know, get an invite somewhere. That's okay. GC. They finished dead last this week, even behind the cliques with other playing scrambles. They're not taking it seriously. Live golf was serious stuff. HV3 posted the statement by a post about bear slide contains several inaccuracies. Does not fairly represent what happened. Harold and his team paid to play before team off. They asked that whether they could play a three on three scramble when they started to climb the request. They respected the decision and played at at pace as two separate groups of three. The first group would complete the whole watch the second group play into the green then proceed to the next hole. At no point did the six golfers combine or play as a six some there was also no groups immediately ahead or behind them being delayed blah, blah, blah. If there's anything that didn't happen, the most thing that has never happened was that they first group would watch them play a play a whole and then then move on. They can almost certainly so solid just a little bit about bear slide. Bear slide is one of Indiana's premier public golf courses golf digest is given bear slide a four point five or four and a half star rating and included among the nine best in Indiana. It's also been rated as one of the top 75 most affordable courses in the United States. It offers a Scottish link style front nine and a traditional style back nine bear slide creek meanders through the back nine fairways and the course features stunning elevation changes throughout. So I think you see why HV3 wanted to check it out and listen we take pace of play seriously good on them. Yeah, I stand with bear slide. I think who who was on the who was on okay GC this week? Do they have any replacement players or it was Gucci Varner cocrack and McDowell. So I mean I'm sure cocrack what was it all in or what was what was this thing? What was this time? All in. I think I heard it was lift clean in place all week kind of a tricky tricky travel stretch for the ladies. They spent July in overseas and then they came back and they had Portland. They week off and they went Portland last week Edmonton this week and then they go to Boston next week, which is just I know like Lauren's a past champ she skipped it this week. I think it's just a it's tricky to get from Edmonton to Boston, you know accordingly. So yeah, I think you know, Solheim Cup teams are locked in everything. Everybody's kind of knows what they need to do. They're playing ahead for CME tour championship now, so it's corn fairy tour over yet. It is. That was over earlier today. They were taking it. They were taking it deep this week on the corn fairy tour TC. Yeah. Yuta Segura 29 under 25th to 20 23rd. You've got, let's say, Neil Sandy Scott T4 30th, guys, you could finish 20 under and that doesn't get you a top 20. It's crazy. It's crazy. Is it any sort of moralizing? You could shoot seven under you could shoot 69 68 to open the week and not make the elastic round for the weekend. That was 18 is T 38 kind of 17 is tied for 50th. That's insane. So we might got Tommy Morrison, Fedora five member, finished 77th, so we'll have to keep an eye on that. He's still six in the in the standings, but how bad must he have played today to shoot 76? I've been on in like nine years where I haven't planned everything myself so it was very fun to just be along for the ride and we did pretty much the exact same itineraries we did for for Taurusos was that 2019 Taurusos season four I think and yeah it was except for we played Count Shabel as well Count Shabel was awesome yeah that's a dingle golf length but anyway we can get into that we've got Walker Cup teams were announced I don't think any huge surprises especially on the GB and I side you got you got six fraternities coming from Cyprus you got Nile she was Donnigan Luke Polter Graham Baker Weaver and Greyhand and then and then they've got you know six newbies as well so I think the biggest surprises on the US side with Akina making it I think that was probably the the one that was kind of the biggest head scratcher for people but like I know Neil you're stoked to see Tyler Watts I think he was up standout for you at the US and DP one right yeah and I do not see Mason Hal on this list which I also think is interesting I mean Jay Lang just went on like the ultimate heater yes he did Miles Russell Preston Stout Ethan Fang Ryder Cowan is that key hey Akina yeah just like you know stew back for more but yeah I mean that's a big one that Mason Hal you know on the US am last year and you know I guess he's had a tough season but I feel like I feel like with Akina it's probably the like he won the the Michelson award which is funny that that's the nation's top collegiate freshman he won that this this year so it's kind of an investment in the future I think of hey let's get some get some young collegiate blood in this thing so yeah had that Sally I had it was a tough week for good good he saw that one yeah Martin Miss yeah that was everywhere New Clearwood had that dialogue was going it's popping yeah I don't know where to go with that one guys it I feel like I'm rooting for good good like I they seem like nice dudes they've made a big impact on the game and yeah yeah we don't think we I don't think we're swimming the same lane like it feels a little weird to comment on because it's kind of a competitor in some way but it's kind of not like I don't really view them as a competitor but it's like I don't want to kick them while they're down as well they had a if you did if you somehow missed it this past week they had a a clip from a video that was kind of an ad or a promotion for their new driver that involved them just absolutely decking a woman that was getting ready to grab the driver out of Garrett's bag and it was weird and it was off-putting and a lot of people very much didn't like it they had issue a statement about it Cali issue a statement about PGA tourhead issue a statement about it it I don't really know what happened here other than like my like amateur read on the situation was that they did did a whole skit video on this like that was supposed to be a weird drama in some way that what I do not think was going to be very good if you ask me it looked like it was going to be like a like a horror movie horror yeah you know like that like the happening or something which was also a horrible movie so yeah the fact that that's what I picked up for I was like this doesn't look like they picked up the driver and then they were possessed and then everybody just started seemed like it like yeah yes I think there was going to be like a parody I don't know if there is a full video or it was going to be and then they clipped the part where they just like deck the girl reaching for the driver and it was like and that was just yeah you can't do that you can't do that on social media like you can't just like put that in front of people and give them that to comment on so I I don't know it was it was it's not good don't get me wrong but I feel like those guys also got a lot of goodwill in the bank after all the years they've been doing it that they're not I don't think that was exactly representative of what they stand for and to the point where I another getting absolutely crushed and I don't know I feel I feel I feel bad for him at this point I know it was a misstep it was a mistake they've owned it maybe the apology wasn't good enough for people I know it was what I had an issue yeah it was yeah it was like the most melee mouth yeah I just don't understand how does that happen like any different stakeholders that has to go through if you're if you're collabing with Callaway and move a vast of break and stuff TC it's crazy yeah just yeah I struggle to wrap my head around that one well the interesting thing is they've got a PJ Tora event right and it's you know cancel culture if you want to call it that moves quickly James Corrigan was calling for them to you know the PJ Tora to kick off the tour cut the event uh no Corrigan said people were calling for them to kill the event it was the one it was calling for it yeah it was it's not listen don't make videos where where you're you know promoting or showing violence against women I think is a very easy easy rule to live by um but yeah it was just not not a good not a good week for them so yeah uh how was the NLU event at uh Callaway Farms yeah we had a great uh event with our friends the Evan scholars uh as well we had a ton of Evan scholars caddies out there um cadding for for the at the summer festival we had at Callaway Farms it was awesome I mean they've gotten so much uh bad weather in Chicago so much rain we were kind of warned on course conditions and things coming in and courses com I dreamed unbelievably and we we hit the jackpot on the on the two days of golf we had there and the day of the of whether we got for the event was just it was awesome so how was the redo they're Jackson Con read did that right it was uh it was tough it was tough to see there's a lot of a lot of Heather a lot of rough out there um it was it was uh it looked like a a redo ready to have some more professional golf events ready for some more tour events it was uh I was expected to be a little bit friendlier uh than that I mean it was but like all the work they did in the draining like did it was because you go to couple spots in the rough and you're like oh my okay that's how much it's rained here holy crap but the greens rolled great fairways rolled out and uh it was um it was it was great it was it was a it was a wonderful wonderful I it's a surprise how little I remembered about it from being there nine years ago I guess but it was like experiencing it all for the first time that we've been back there since BW championship great event great great great a lot of our sponsors uh put up a ton uh but with friends from titles come out do demonstrations and everything had great prizes to give away and everything so it was uh great thank you everyone a lot of people traveled from from well out of town to to make it in for that one and we did some of the strongest vibes we've had at an in-person uh in-person event it was wonderful and so and uh DJ had the the event scholar of the year on the bag that's exactly right yes all golfing um who actually uh you may have seen him on the BW championship uh Instagram uh this past week uh as well he got to got to hang with Trev and Jim Nance in the booth there and uh DJ had him I thought he had him on the bag at um yeah he did have him on the bag for this one that's exactly right uh he had Abby on the bag sorry for the Evan scholars invitationally played at the uh on the corn fairy tour this year so but uh I was shot I had uh Brian she in on the bag and he's my mentee my Evan scholar mentee we were introduced last week uh and I was able to connect with him in in at BMW I don't know what I'm gonna mentor him on but I'm gonna do my best man so let's let's get to it Brian he's uh he's at uh Missouri uh Mizzou I had uh I had a Miami University uh gentlemen on his way he's like literally leaving like the next day to go to Miami to start his his freshman year and I was like cool it's like man what about what advice do I give somebody uh you know roll it in for their freshman year I thought I you know what I told him it's like call your parents call your call your parents more than I did just do it just talk to him they're gonna miss the heck out of you and uh I didn't I didn't call home enough uh that was that was my advice to him in coming freshman it's good advice I like that um T.C. like I just want to do a quick St. Louis rundown first time last thing before we get to that I don't know if you guys saw the Sean Norris penalty uh that was that was one thing that had uh people up in arms he was getting into his stance uh didn't like like a divot that was under his foot that had been replaced yeah kicked it away I saw that live and I thought about it I was like you I don't think you can do that and then I was like well maybe it wasn't really in the vicinity I literally thought that in the moment it's on mute and I'm like I don't think you can do that but uh maybe that was like not near the ball so it's okay so I'm glad to know that I my instinct that's crazy it almost ever is too new I know I know uh yeah I'm operating off of pre-2019 rules but you keep saying that like it would have been right into it and it's not like yeah almost always you know you have it wrong on both sides of it that's a tough one because if you watched it live it was like under his back right foot you know what I like that wasn't it wasn't like stuck away and rack to swing and he just yeah he just kicked it out like it looked like it made me look twice but it didn't feel uh you know I don't know sometimes the rules of golf are fucking dumb like it didn't impact anything you know I'm saying like I can see how he would get that one wrong somebody flagged the actual rule I think I bookmarked it let me see where it was because it was like extremely extremely cut and dry Dr. Galfrills. This is. - That would make sense. - Well, most of Dr. Golf rules. All right, I might have to DM Dr. Golf rules. Get them on speed, though. - He, yeah, I forget. I don't know where this is listed here on this rule. - At the AI coming out, Neil. - True. - The USDA does. - But it literally says like if the divot is replaced and like the roots are facing down in there, like you can't, yeah, the divot was like replaced. - Okay. I didn't think, I thought it was just some spare divot. - It looks like it was to me grass up just sitting like a divot sitting freely on top and he was, you know, was bugging his back foot and he just quickly kicked it away. And then like, he then he reset. Like, yeah, I don't think he didn't, you know, he didn't like do a whole reset but he didn't hit the ball immediately. - Yes, it says rule 8.1, a three prohibits improving the conditions effective in stroke by pressing down, removing or repositioning a divot in a divot hole, which is treated as part of the ground. Even if it is not yet attached or growing, a divot has been replaced with most of it. With the roots down is in a divot hole, whether or not the divot is in the same divot hole that it came from. So yeah, cannot, cannot move it once it's been, been placed into a divot hole. It's amazingly specific. I did not know the rule was that specific. People were up in arms about it but I'm like, dude, that's, it's just as cut and dry there. I'm sorry. - Meal, going back to the rule stuff, I want you to start just putting down as many clubs as you possibly can behind your ball. - I don't, I don't do that TC. That's not, I just get the rules wrong. It's not, it's not an active, like, I just, no, and sometimes I just mix 'em up, you know, but everything I think it's understandable confusion. It's not malicious. - It's not malicious. I swear to God, I go out of my way to like, we got a video coming out and you'll see a specific rule situation where I'm like, it costs me big time and I still don't know if I'm, you know, but things are moving quick and I played it all straight and it's a sick situation that only I would get into. It's very cool. - Speaking of sick rule situations, solid in St. Louis, everybody, like, all anybody wanted to talk about was that guy that faked the hole in the wall. - Yes. - Oh, God. - Which I avoided all of that. So I got to like a full, I was like, somebody just tell me the story right now and it's like big local drama. It was crazy. - And it's at Nathan Karn's course, the guy that's the head of the PJ of America. - Which to his credit, sounds like they handled it. - They handled it well. - Yeah, really well. - But it sounds like this guy's a habitual line stepper. I thought it multiple times, but yeah, just, I mean, crazy, crazy. Like everybody was like, oh yeah, like dude, that happened like right down the street. Just, you know, like it's like, all anybody's been talking about for the last 10 days, like local sports talk radio. They've all been hammered. It's crazy. - God, just the diabolical nature of going to the course early to place a ball in the hole to fake a hole in one is just, that's a level of. - And he had two prior, two prior hole in ones where the only witness was his girlfriend or fiance. - Ooh. - And he won like the hole in one pot at the club. - Nope. - And I think on this one, he was like, hey, like, we're getting married at the club. I just want you to give us a credit instead of paying this out, kind of thing. Just really grimy. - Maybe they shouldn't want to get married at the club if you ask me. - But St. Louis, generally speaking, we had a great time, man. It was, we went to Gimme Golf Club on, is that Wednesday night now? - Wednesday night. - He had hung out with all those guys and like, what Kyle and all those guys have built there? - What is it for those that aren't out familiar? - In town clubhouse, you know, I got three or four simulators and just really awesome design, like homegrown golf inclusive golf clubhouse. - Bar in the back. - Barbershop. - Yeah, like, you know, club. - It's about a food truck out back and out there. - And that around, I mean, it's just like, it's almost like, hey, we just got ideas and we're just gonna bring him to life. And it was invigorating stuff. His place was packed, you know, I think the city was really pumped up about this event and I feel like awesome hospitality. We went to Charlie Guido's on the hill, just old school Italian restaurant. The hill was great. T.C., I'm glad we got up there. And then I want to give a shout out to Will, he's the number one percussionist in the St. Louis Symphony. We've gone back and forth on some drumming stuff. And T.C., and I went toward the St. Louis Symphony Hall. And it was awesome. He showed us a little xylophone for us. He set me home with a new drumming pad, which makes sense if you listen to the trap draw, you know, I'm working my rudiments. So T.C., I've already put this bad boy into practice. So that was a highlight for me. - Let me ask him hundreds of dumb questions. I'm like, all right, like I know, I don't have a musical blown in my body, but I appreciate the hell out of music. And just, yeah, really, really interesting, like professional viewpoint from him. We got to play St. Louis Country Club, which was awesome. I mean, the epic, epic routing, and Sally, some template stuff that is unexpected, like some unexpected twists and spins on templates, two and three are both ball-buster par-threes. Par-fives were epic on the back. Just like, I want to, yeah, would play. That place is nails. So bigger, I'd say bigger ballpark, but would remind you, Sally, of Camargo. I would put those two in the big fan of both those courses, and I would have a tough time doing a 10 round split between the two of them. - And then they told us about this course, right across the street. There was two courses right across the street that they share a golf course. Like each of them has nine holes, and each of them has their own clubhouse, but they, it's kind of like London and Levin used to be. But yeah, really small memberships, hyper-private, but it was kind of a fascinating, I don't know, just, I was like, wait, so both of these clubs, like there's two different clubs, and they share the same course. Like I've never heard of that anywhere in America, right? It was the Bogey Club and the Log Cabin Club, right across the street. - Cool. - St. Louis Country Club, so. - The last shout out I gave is Ruth Park. I played there on Friday morning. Tied off like 6.40. So they got a little Friday game out there, so shout out to Jeff and Bobby Drum and our, our Cabin of the St. Louis Roost. But that was a nice nine hole, strapped, tight place, big time land movement, big hills, some fun holes out there. So I feel like we explored the full spectrum of golf in St. Louis. City showed out, let's, I know there's been some, some things he see that you've said about St. Louis. Would you like to, would you like to address those things? I don't even know what I've said about St. Louis. I've said things about Belrieve. I'm not, you know, I think Belrieve still don't think it's a major championship venue. I think it's a, it's a, it's a world class PGA tour venue. So I'll give them that good membership. St. Louis, I look forward to returning. I think the food scene was fascinating. We didn't get a chance to eat at this pizza place. Was it Emos? I'mos. I'mos, Emos, which I think if you're from there, it's like comfort food, but if you're not, it's nasty. It's like a special kind of cheese and like not marinara. That was kind of the report I got from several people. But St. Louis, to me, like it struck me as a city of neighborhoods, like very, very distinct neighborhoods. And, you know, it's just kind of a collection of those versus, you know, there's not a lot going on downtown these days. And you've got, you know, it's, everything's kind of moved out of the city. And like it used to be really, really, like they used to have a ton of fortune 500 companies base there than the advertising business that kind of sprung up around that and everything. But I mean, shit, we went to the, the Anheuser Bush Brewery. They drink a lot of butt heavies all week. A lot of bushlights too. Big fat. Bushlight bottles, yeah, Bushlight bottles, then Buds select. I guess it's something they only sell in St. Louis as well. But maybe now they used to be, they used to be distributed. Okay, I feel like I had that back in the day and it's been a long, long, long time. How I would write out, I don't know. Red bottles know, maybe black. I didn't have any of those. I will say this, proud people, reminds me a lot of Cincinnati, which is not, I'm probably not breaking any news there. But I now I understand why you sensey boys are, you know, always trying to get, you know, shot in here or there on the best fans in baseball. But two cities with a lot of pride. And I think I really appreciate the hospitality from, from St. St. Luna ticks, but just to clarify, just to be very clear on this, the biggest fairway, their baseball fans you could possibly have. And 20, 22, they were the second, they had the second highest attendance. But there's on the record, there are 19th now because the team is not good anymore. And they, they, they, all they did was have a successful team. They're not the best fans of baseball. Where you going to go, though, Sally, where are you going to go? And don't bring up my team. My team sucks ass. You can't, you can't, we and we don't have good attendance. So you can't hurt me. Just you can't carry yourself with pride that you're the best fans of baseball. We had a driver one night. 19, 19 entire, the entire 25 minute ride. We were just naming like old Rams players. Yeah, this guy's name is dudes. But no, he's, I was convinced that D'Angelo Hall and Dante Hall were brothers. I was, I was, I was mistaken on that. So you're sorely mistaken. I think I'll say here are a team.
