WR Rankings, Sleepers, and Tiers. Plus, the Hot QB Rankings, Nos. 9-12.

The hosts discuss the wide receiver position for the upcoming fantasy football season, noting that 2025 was historically poor for receivers due to fewer targets, more two-tight-end sets, and increased running. They break down receivers into tiers, starting with elite options like Jamar Chase, JSN, and Puka Nacua, followed by first-round-caliber players such as CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, and Amon-Ra St. Brown. AJ Brown is highlighted as a favorite due to his new situation with the Patriots, better quarterback play, and improved offensive coordinator. Emeka Ibuka is identified as a potential breakout star, with impressive early-career stats and a new Cooper Kupp-style role in Tampa Bay. The middle tiers are described as unusually flat and deep, with players like Devonta Smith, Christian Watson, Luther Burden, and Roma Dunze all having wide ranges of outcomes. The hosts discuss various bounce-back candidates, including Brian Thomas, Ricky Pearsall, and Jaden Reed, while expressing caution about players like Malik Nabers (injury concerns) and Marvin Harrison Jr. (inconsistent production). The overall strategy suggestion is that waiting on receivers and loading up on running backs early could be viable given the depth at the position.

Speaker 3Welcome to the Rigger Fantasy Football Show. My name is Danny Heifetz, and I am joined by Danny, Kaylee, and Craig Koralbeck. Today, we are going over wide receivers, rankings, sleepers, tiers, and, of course, at the end, as always, at the beginning of the week, quarterback hotness rankings. We're broaching the top ten today, DK.
Speaker 1Oh, man. Is that right? It's getting close. This is exciting.
Speaker 4We're doing 12 to 9 today.
Speaker 3Which, when you say it, is not really a good hook to stay around. Well, we're now getting into the top ten.
Speaker 4The top third hottest quarterbacks.
Speaker 3Top third hottest quarterbacks in the NFL. And, again, we're coming to you all preseason fantasy season. We're going to go to four episodes a week toward the end of August, so we can help you. Prep for your drafts and everything. And we keep having episodes into the season. So, once you do your draft, stick with us, either because we can help you or also we keep being stupid during the season in addition to before it. You guys want to just jump into the receiver position?
Speaker 4Yeah, it's juicy. Got a lot to cover.
Speaker 3It is juicy. We have a ton of receivers. There are way more than tight end to quarterback, so we have to tweak this a little bit. But I want to start by just talking about the overall wide receiver position because it's actually a pretty interesting season because I don't know if you guys have anything. Thoughts on receivers? Because I found some amazing numbers from Rich Rebar.
Speaker 4Like, generally? I have general thoughts on wide receivers this year. One, this is probably common with every year, but once again, it feels like wide receivers in a great spot. And almost every single one of these elite options is in the prime of their career. I counted how many receivers there were in the rankings until I got to one that was over 30 years old. And it's Devontae Adams who's ranked. Really? In 20th.
Speaker 3Who led the NFL in touchdowns last year even though he didn't play the final three weeks.
Speaker 4Yes. Everyone else in the top 20 is under 30 years old. It is as deep as ever. And it's always a position I tell myself I can wait on because there's so many options. And then I'm staring at Jamar Chase or Drake London and I get excited and I bid and then I take one of those guys. But you can probably get Mike Evans, T. Higgins, and Roma Dunze in rounds four, five, and six. Then you can get a great quarterback, a great tight end, and a great running back and really round out your team. So it's not breaking any ground to say that quarterback looks really deep this year. But man, there's a lot of guys that are just smack dab in the middle of their prime.
Speaker 3There's a lot of really good players. But I do want to note, Rich Rebar wrote this fantastic article for Warren Sharpe's website, Sharpe Football, that I will reference a lot today because Warren's site's great, but Rich had some amazing stats. But I'm just going to read you this anecdote from Rich's stat about this overview of the receiver. Wide receiver. He's talking about last season, 2025. Wide receivers in 2025 collected the fewest receiving yards in a season since 2003. Collected. 2003? I also like collected. And also it was caught up in 2003. Collected's funny. We're running the ball more.
Speaker 4More tight ends in the field. I don't know.
Speaker 3Well, that's the thing. So exactly. Teams, I mean, a third of snaps last year were two tight end sets. So it continues. The wide receiver position received the fewest targets and fewest receptions per game since 2001. And then even accounting for the league-wide drop in passing volume, because teams were running a little bit more, that the wide receiver position still received its lowest target share and lowest share of receptions, yards, and touchdowns across the NFL since 2017. It's a fact, though. 2025 was the worst fantasy season for the receiver position this millennium in terms of output, while the position accounted for the lowest share of receiving points scored across the league in every other year since 2000, except for 2017. So it's like, it's like the worst or second worst year for wide receivers in that basically since fantasy football has been on the internet.
Speaker 4I would also add to that that the last two years specifically running back has been incredibly healthy and wide receiver has been incredibly banged up, which is not usually how it is. So if you wanted to zag a little bit and kind of get away from leaning on a first-round running back and going after big wide receivers, math and, you know, regression, injury regression to the mean would suggest that running backs aren't going to be as healthy this year as they have been.
Speaker 3I agree. And DK, I'm curious what you think of that, because that is the biggest picture thing. Like, we're going to go in some granular to some players. But the big picture thing is in the past, receivers kind of moved up the board in a lot of drafts because like, oh, these running backs, they freaking get hurt all the time. And there's timeshares anyway. This season, no matter what site you're on, people, including us, are probably going to be telling you, take running backs early, like take a bunch of running backs early, like receivers. They're not getting as much production as they have in the past. More two tight end sets, as Craig's saying, which we can get more. We're into like what's actually happening, the receiver position. But people are kind of going back to like the boomer era of like, just take three running backs for the first three picks. And I'm curious what you think of that. Just I don't know how you look at the receiver position this year, DK.
Speaker 1I mean, I think coming into the year, I was just thinking running back is going to be a higher priority, especially if you're in a two receiver league. If you're in a three receiver league, it changes the math a little bit. You have to kind of work a little bit harder at getting guys before they all before you hit. Like the cliff at the receiver position. But in general, standard two receiver leagues, I think I'm still probably going to prioritize running back just a little bit because there are so many receivers. But man, those stats from from rebar are very interesting. Like it's that's kind of crazy. That almost makes me rethink my whole strategy going into the year.
Speaker 3It does. And I think he had another take on it that almost reminded me of the economy in a way. And his point was basically that the rich receivers in terms of targets and stats are getting richer. And then the middle or the upper middle class. Kind of get squeezed at receiver. And the stat he had was basically I'm paraphrasing a little, but basically from 2000 to 2020, there was a receiver got 30% of the targets in his team's offense. Like once a year, like there was one receiver a year that got 30% of his team's targets. That was a huge deal. Like one a year. And then last year there were four guys. Yeah. And the point being that like more offenses, which we could go into scheme and all these things that are happening. But basically more offenses are finding ways to get better. And then you get one guy, a ton of volume like JSN last year for the Seahawks or Puka to Kua. Like some guys are just getting a ton of stuff, but then for everyone else, the, I don't want to middle class. I don't know. It feels weird to call someone like T Higgins, a middle-class receiver that feels inaccurate, but there is a flattening effect on this, like next tier down receivers. And we could talk today about where you want to draw the line either in real life or fantasy, but there is a big flattening effect and the point, and we can get to this in a few minutes. But when I send you guys this, I sent you guys this doc with all these receiver tiers. And cause I kind of drew them my first draft based on our rankings. And then we kind of hash it out here on the show. This really is like us hashing it out. And I sent you guys my tier four receivers. I had like 20 names. Right. And I'm curious what you guys' first reaction to that was. Cause I had T Higgins, Christian Watson, Devante Smith, the Mecca book. I don't know how to like tear those guys apart. You know what I mean? Like there are so many players that have these like giant range of outcomes, but it does feel flatter in the middle where there are players you can get in the third round at receiver that don't feel completely different to me than guys you can get three or four rounds later. And I do feel that more, especially with everything happening in the league, especially with like, there are guys that play all the time. And then there's like a real drop off, honestly, with the guys that aren't on the field all the time. And there's like the elite of the elites. Then there are guys that are in two receiver sets. And then there are guys that rotate in because the NFL isn't doing three receiver sets all the time anymore. And I really felt like the, the tearing of it.
Speaker 1I think the other thing that's interesting about this, that I was thinking while you were talking is there's a handful of guys that I think people are really excited about very clearly. Talented receivers, but there's a whole tier of guys who are basically deep threats, you know, players that rely on explosive plays and touchdowns to get their, their fantasy points. Jamison Williams, Christian Watson. I'm trying to think of a couple other guys here. Brian T. Higgins. Yeah. Brian Thomas is another great one. It's like Nico Collins is another one. It's just, there's so many guys that are reliant on big plays.
Speaker 3When you say big play, just because there's Rasheed Rice is getting the ball at line of scrimmage. It needs big plays with touchdowns. But then you got like a guy like Luther Bird and who's not actually getting thrown the ball in the end zone. He needs like near scrimmage. And then there's point Christian Watson's or Nico's who are getting the ball 25 yards downfield. Yeah.
Speaker 1Do you care about the difference or it's just a matter of like how risky or how much risk you're willing to take on and how much variance you're willing to take on? Because like guy like Jamison Williams is a perfect example in my mind where one of the most talented players you can see it every time he touches the football. I think Luther Bird is very similar. It's like, man, he just moves differently than everyone on the field. So explosive. But Jamison Williams, one of the least reliable players is a DK Metcalf style of player where you're going to get these big, exciting plays. And in a lot of games, he's going to be kind of invisible. And so it's like riding the ups and downs of that throughout a season is kind of tough. How willing are you going to be to do that? And I think there's a lot of guys like that this season for whatever reason.
Speaker 3Let's dive in. We can. And then as we go, though, I'm going to ask you guys a question. I want to follow up that thing. care about just the idea of variance and high variance players but with that said tier one i looked at this as players that you could just take as the number one receiver this year or even honestly if you want to do number one pick and i don't think it would be like insane and i think this tier for us is jamar chase on the bangles jackson smith and jake on the seox and puka nikua for the rams and again generally a tier it's kind of like if you drafted these guys in any order i wouldn't look at you like you had six heads uh it's not that simple but you know but that's basically you know we wouldn't really be surprised uh my question to start is craig how confident are you that jamar chase should be the first person drafted first receiver drafted this year well
Speaker 4as we know it is an even year so very confident and taking smart chase no uh he's a guy who i feel like every year i'm like i really want you more chase and then i end up never getting him but i think he's like still just the best wide receiver in the nfl and when the bangles are cooking there's there's no one like him he still has the best wide receiver season of the decade other than that one cooper cup year it's it is jamar chase when he had 1700 yards and 17 touchdowns and 127 catches so i feel that if joe burrows on the field he's the only he is the number one guy you want and and i wouldn't want anybody else i'm looking
Speaker 1at this top tier high fits and the top three guys chase jsn puka chase to me checks all the boxes i think he's the best receiver period in the nfl just like a talent explosiveness skill set run after the catch he does everything i still think you nailed your pre-draft scouting
Speaker 3report on this podcast of jamar chase which you said to me and it stuck with me and it's so true he combines a lot of elements of larry fitzgerald and dan kwan bolden like he has a lot of so
Speaker 1powerful yeah um powerful fast elusive great hands and the other boxes that he checks plays with a quarterback that absolutely adores him they've been playing together since college they have an incredible connection we know this offense is going to be high volume passing he's also been durable he's been durable knock on wood he's been durable he's been durable he's been and yeah so he checks to me all the boxes that being said like the rest of the other two guys in this tier jsn had an incredible season last year incredible season but he doesn't check the as many boxes new play caller on the offense uh you know the darn old thing i i still he's clearly not like a joe burrow level quarterback so maybe he's a he's a step down from that and then puka nakua with offseason that he's had uh where you know he he was in the news for anti-semitic comments then he went to rehab you know like a crazy offseason for him i don't know how much we can play that into next year but he's also paired with an incredible quarterback who wants to be in the rock plays football like
Speaker 4he's a stuntman he's just getting his ass kicked every way every game in a way that
Speaker 3plays like he's in the movie jackass yeah he's a jackass like he's a jackass i he plays on and off the field puka nakua has very little sense of self-preservation uh i think steve-o i steve-o so here's my thing with this tier i don't think there's an argument i could i would be able to make that have jsn over jamar chase just because you know what i mean jamar chase is better player he's done it more he has the same continuity same court puka nakua it's like if puka nakua instead of i mean you didn't even i mean again like i joked like a couple months ago like give me the among the elite guys give me the guy that wasn't accused of like biting a woman and then his lawyer was like that's just horsing around you know what i mean like he's had a crazy offseason going to rehab having said that if puka nakua had just been like saving puppies from burning orphanages or whatever all off season and just like i don't know got the nobel peace prize and you told me all these peace prize yeah if puka nakua got the fifa peace prize and we were like all these guys will play the full season wouldn't we all take puka nakua with the first pick yeah he was the receiver one last year that's scott barrett our friend scott barrett at fantasy points had this great stat that blew my mind he told me the other day it was uh puka nakua or jamar chase has only outscored sean mcveigh's number one receiver for the rams once since covet yeah like generally speaking the mcveigh top receiver has just always beaten jamar chase and that kind of blew my mind and again it's it goes back to the matthew berry rule from like 25 years ago if you can't win your league in your first round but you can lose it taking the only guy in the first round that went to rehab this offseason is a little concerning but i still do think puka's ceiling this year is actually breaking the receiving record yeah and it so it eats at me that we have him third instead of jsa's part of me does want to move puka up over but i think it's just this is the top tier
Speaker 4yeah i think having him second is fine there's just a little bit more risk with puka than it with jamar chase it feels like even though i guess i don't know quarterback health at this point burrow's missing more games than stafford is these days so right i don't know yeah okay so i we don't
Speaker 3need to linger on those guys they're great and you can take them in any order you want they're fantastic and it's like a risk tolerance thing and that really is the myers-briggs it's it's if you want safety it's not puka but if you want to like talladega nights it it's puka so with that said the second tier here we have what i called first round caliber receivers which are monroe st brown for detroit who i think is the james cook of receivers just consistently fantastic and he's the s&p 500 can't go broke making a profit and then it's cd lamb for dallas and justin jefferson for the vikings who both had two of the worst seasons their entire careers are both like way better than in fantasy uh we're sorry way better in real life than they were in fantasy last season right uh and then for different reasons just really fell off i starting with cd cd is weird to me because so he had he just didn't have a good year he's his worst season since his rookie year he didn't hit 1100 yards three touchdowns all season for cd lamb justin jefferson and cd lamb combined for five touchdowns last year like that alone is pretty crazy wild uh i cd is the guy that i'm just he started he started really well he had 100 yards in each of the first two weeks and then he had a high ankle sprain immediately in week three and then he missed a month and then george pickens exploded over the stretch and we've always talked about high ankle sprains are like the most underrated injury along with turf toe where it's high ankle sprains are career altering injuries if they're really severe and not treated enough and cd looked better as he got back but i don't know a full i just look at cd and this other stat that rich rebar had that blew my mind is there's this like fantasy points there's expectations there's a lot of fantasy points there's a lot of expected fantasy points based on everything happening on the field and like how many would an average player have in this george pickens was third in the in the nfl and fantasy points over expectation and then cd lamb is 214th and so i'm like okay well that generally is a stat that evens out based on talent and health and so i don't know i think i like cd a lot better than pickens this
Speaker 1year yeah i mean cd is another one of those guys that he's done it in the past we've seen it happen it's not a projection necessarily he just was hurt all of last year like that is the most obvious why he struggled um i think pickens is still gonna get his but i think see it's gonna even out much closer to you know what you kind of expect coming into last year yeah i think
Speaker 4justin jefferson has the most risk it's obvious because you still i mean kyler murray's an upgrade from jj mccarthy in the disaster that was last year for minnesota but like technically we don't know i mean as much as we'd like to believe the kyler thing will be okay we don't know it's not like dak prescott or jared goff throw into a monitor on cd lamb so there's just a little bit more risk factored in but i think this is the correct tier maybe you could add a.j brown to this tier but i think this is the perfect like guy you get at the end of the first round
Speaker 3yeah anything else in justin jefferson i i think he's a locked in first round just to remind you justin jefferson down the stretch because he was your first round pick justin jefferson i think maybe the most disappointing player last year from week 10 on justin jefferson was not in the top 60 receivers in fantasy football uh he was outscored from week 10 on by isaac tesla and detroit and and ryan flournoy on the cowboys like literally not a top six
Speaker 1player so i mean but yeah i think you have a bad taste in your mouth about that but like if you look at what he's done for the rest of his career it's hard it's it's it's crazy he was truthfully one of the most prolific receivers through four seasons that we've ever seen in the nfl j.j
Speaker 3mccarthy and max brosmer did him no favors down the stretch so even carson wentz had j.j justin
Speaker 1jefferson playing fine okay just a reminder real quick in the four season so he has been healthy justin jefferson's been healthy for a long time he's been healthy for a long time he's been healthy five out of the last six seasons so he's missed what he's missed time in one season basically um and in the four years uh in four to five years he's had a target rate over 28 so he demands targets each and every year in those four years we had that that high of a target rate he averaged 105 catches 1500 yards and eight touchdowns so i mean not that not that that necessarily is a perfect projection for what we can expect this year but i'm just like he's too good i don't want to bet against him even if he has a question at quarterback
Speaker 3he might be the best receiver in the nfl yeah so then i have this next tier here which i've just called second ish round receivers for fantasy i don't know what else to call it but we have nico collins for the texans drake london for the falcons rishi rice for the chiefs which i have no idea what to do with him aj brown for the patriots and george pickens for the cowboys can i can i explain um or
Speaker 4describe the feeling of drafting these guys please it's something always goes wrong during the season but they're awesome it's always like things are going really well for like 10 weeks and then something goes wrong it can it can vary whether it's like cj stroud takes a shit on the field or there's a hamstring pull or some weird shit happens but i feel like every single one of these guys over the last three years they all have chunks of being really elite it's like rishi rice for 10 weeks is really elite drake london was like the wide receiver one last year for half the season nico collins on like per game basis is like incredible but there's always like
Speaker 1hamstrings or things getting in the way neither the range rovers of the nfl they look cool They're sleek. They're fast. How much is it to fix this? It's a status symbol to have one in your lineup with that boy. The reliability, I don't know.
Speaker 3The way you tell me the button to open the front door window is broken and now you want like $900 and it's going to take a week? What are you talking about?
Speaker 1Nico, I think, is one of the more interesting ones here because like I mentioned before, he's kind of a big play merchant. He relies on those big plays among receivers with 50 targets last year. He was fourth in yards per touch, 15.5 yards per touch. And that puts him in a category with like Alec Pierce, Christian Watson, J-Mo, Jordan Addison, Pickens, Terry McLaurin. These are like the guys. Terry McLaurin's a guy we said for years is like it feels like a miracle when he catches a football just because he has a higher degree of difficulty in the way that he's used in the offense. I think the one thing. And the quarterback sucked. And the quarterback. C.J. Stroud is all over the place. And couple that with the fact they drafted two receivers last year. They might get Tank Dell back this year. I think it's back on the field.
Speaker 3With love and respect to Tank Dell, I'll worry about that one.
Speaker 1Well, OK, how about this? I'm just worried a little bit about Jaden Higgins, Jalen Noel, who both looked really good as rookies and could have an increased like role in the offense. You come in, you have a real running back down, David Montgomery. Maybe the run game is a little bit stronger. I'm just like Nico feels to me, even though I think he's a great receiver. He feels a little it's it's nerve wracking to pick him just because it's like it's going to be a little bit of a struggle. It's going to be a little bit of a struggle. It's going to be a little bit of a struggle. It's going to be a little bit of a struggle. It's going to be all over the place in real life.
Speaker 3I think Nico Collins might be the most underrated receiver in the NFL. Like when he's actually healthy and firing like he's. Very similar to aging around. Yeah, like he's just an incredible dominant outside receiver. But I agree. It's one of those where if the Texans kind of look bad on offense and it's just ugly to watch, you're like, oh, my God, you feel dumb for taking him when it's like the upside in this round, like all these problems that Craig pointed. I like the Range Rover thing. Like it is you feel dumb if you miss in this range, because like this. This does feel like the crux of fantasies. You kind of have to nail your second round pick this year because there is such high upsides. But no, Nico is there. I feel similar about Drake London. I mean, Nico, Drake, London, 80s, you brown are all similar where they're like really big, really tall outside receivers that can play all over that are pretty physically dominant. They're alphas. Yeah, they're alphas. But Drake, I mean, Drake, London scares me because he was playing his absolute either easily the best football of his career. And then he hurt his knee, which the PCL and Jets were Brock Bowers that it's a stability thing. But Drake, London feels a quarterback dependent to me where Drake, London with Michael Penix is awesome. Because Michael Penix is not like a Stafford, but Michael Penix is throwing the ball downfield. Like he is throwing, he's pushing the ball deep gunslinger. And he's very much like throwing alley-oops to Drake, London. And then like, it's weird to measure because he got hurt and then Kirk Cousins came in. But like if Tua is playing, I'm less convinced that Tua works with Drake, London. Maybe that I'm overthinking it. But like I now I feel similar to why I have Jameer Gibbs first and Bijan Robinson second, where I'm, my tiebreaker is I don't want to be playing the Michael Penix recovering from ACL surgery or Tua this year on like a minimum deal. Like, I don't know. Just they're stylistically such different quarterbacks. And I don't know what happens when the offense goes snip, snap, snip, snap. That's my favorite Drake, London. You know what I mean?
Speaker 4I agree. I mean, my very complicated equation of quarterback plus coordinator plus volume. The only one who checks the box really outside of Rasheed Rice who has other stuff going on is A.J. Brown, where I'm like, I trust the quarterback. I trust the coordinator and I trust the volume.
Speaker 3A.J. Brown's my favorite player in fantasy football this year. A.J. Brown, I think everyone's overthinking it. I, I, I, last year he was not injured. He was very upset with the offense, which again, I had 3,300 passing yards last year. Jalen Hurts get him the ball. I think everyone is overthinking how, like, whether he was hurt or just like what went wrong there. I think people are underrating how big of an upgrade Drake May is as a quarterback over Jalen Hurts at every part of the field. And I think people are really underrating. As Craig just said, how much better Josh McDaniels is an offensive coordinator than what was going on last year. And like, those are all the things that tend to raise the boats in ways that like you you're like, oh yeah, better quarterback and better coordinator. And he's insanely motivated. I, he's like on a war path basically. I, I, to, to, I mean, to prove everyone like, you know, what happened here, I, I don't know. I, I, to me, A.J. Brown leaps off the page and I'm, I feel like I'm going to get him everywhere because a lot of people has him as like a third round pick. And I, I think A.J. Brown is very easy. He's going to be in the middle of the second round.
Speaker 4I agree. There's more question marks about everybody else other than A.J. Brown. I mean, Pickens in theory is, is rock solid, but he's George Pickens. He's the number two on the team.
Speaker 5Right.
Speaker 4There's a little bit more going on there, but Rice, London and Collins, I can raise questions with all the guys. A.J. Brown, I'm kind of like, you could argue he should be with C.D. Lamb and Justin Jefferson in a monorail, but I, I get why he's not. He's on a new team. There's technically more unknowns, but I'm closer to him being to them than with these guys.
Speaker 1These, these five guys, Nico, Drake, Rice, A.J. Brown, Pickens are all, I would say, even though Pickens is like the number two, he's kind of the alpha style wise in terms of getting downfield, mossing people at the catch point, all that stuff. The guy that kind of stands out here as a different style of players, Rasheed Rice. And I remember we talked about Rasheed Rice during the middle of last year at some point, I think we were just kind of discussing it. I don't know if he's actually good. He just gets the ball in space and can run really fast. And it was nice to see our friends at Reception Perception, Matt Harmon, did a write up on him recently, and it was basically the stats back up sort of our impression on that. Rice was in space, according to Reception Perception, in space on 77% of his catches. So he is, Andy Reid is fucking just doing work for Rasheed Rice.
Speaker 3It's an extension of the running game. His average depth of target is like bottom five in the NFL. It's next to guys like Greg Doran. Like Rasheed Rice's average depth of target is next to guys who are like five foot eight or just not in the NFL. And it's because the Chiefs couldn't run the ball. And so instead of, they would just basically run block and get Rasheed Rice the ball immediately and just hope that he could do something.
Speaker 1It was in breakers and screens and things of that nature.
Speaker 3It's Debo-esque.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3It's like if Debo had to rehab his knee in jail because he violated probation. Is he out of jail? He is out, yes. Yeah, I think so. He's out.
Speaker 1So, yes, I think the fact that he's sort of an Andy Reid merchant and really relies on the scheme. Look, this is what the numbers say. We're like making this up. This is according to the reception perception tracking. He was bad against press. He's bad against man. He doesn't separate. He's just, he's really good at catching the ball and running after the catch. Debo is a great example, I think.
Speaker 3But to that point, the reason I don't know where to rank him is that Rasheed Rice, I don't know if outside of Devonta Adams and the Rams, I don't know if any teams are more committed to getting someone the ball at the goal line than the Chiefs are to Rasheed Rice. Especially last year when they couldn't run. That might change because they have Ken Walker. But when he... Rasheed Rice came back, it was like Andy Reid had just been like, needed a cigarette. Like, it was just, he had been waiting all year to just get Rasheed Rice the ball at the one-yard line. It's crazy how much they forced it to him.
Speaker 4I don't know why, but I've ended up having Rasheed Rice on my team, I think, every year on one of my two weeks. And it is a wonderful experience. When you have him on your team and he's on the field, it seems like every three plays they are getting him the ball when they're in the red zone. They're like designing runs for him. Like, if he is healthy and playing, he will be a top 10 guy.
Speaker 3And again, hasn't been on the field a lot. He's had crazy knee injuries. He's had concussions. He's had suspensions. He's been a kid. I mean, he's facing a lot of allegations of domestic violence. He went to probation separately for, because he violated probation. Like, there's just... Rasheed Rice is a weird mix of, has made incredible mark on the field, but also kind of has not. And then also the amount of things going off. Like, it's hard. He's such a chief's receiver. Like, he checks every single box of skill, the players on the Chiefs in one person. Yeah, I mean... It's so... I don't know.
Speaker 4Also, like, they didn't do anything. Like, it's just still Xavier Worthy and Travis Kelsey and Taequann Thornton and Rasheed Rice.
Speaker 3I think Thornton's good, but I agree that it's just... Honestly, this Chiefs room reminds me a lot of the Giants, where it's... Because Matt Nagy went to the Giants. I mean, the receivers, not the Kansas City Chiefs, obviously. But I'm like, wow, this is a group of players that I feel is unprepared to play, like, three receiver sets Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, how are they going to block? Like, you're like, Xavier Worthy can't block. I love Taequann Thornton, but I don't know. And it's like, okay. It's just weird.
Speaker 4Things get really interesting in the next tier. I feel like the first three tiers are very clean, and I agree with them, and then it gets murky.
Speaker 3So, I made... So, I just took our rankings that we had done, and I chopped them up a little. I tweaked a couple things, but... So, I said, yeah. So, the first tier is Jamar Chase, JSN, Puka. And then it's like, the next tier, we have CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, Amon Ross, Sam Brown. Easy. Then that tier, we just talked about. Nico Collins, Drake London, Rasheed Wrights, AJ Brown, George Pickens. I sent you guys this next tier, and I actually had to give you a note where I was like, just so you know, this tier is huge, but I have no idea to cut it. And I put in this tier 16 people, which we've certainly never done. And when you looked at it, I became curious. What was your immediate reaction when you looked at how big the freaking tier was? Did you think I was dumb, or were you like, I see why you couldn't cut it?
Speaker 1No, I mean, I kind of see why... I guess you could really... like split hairs and try and split this up, but it is all guys that have talent and are in interesting situations, but are either the number two receiver on their team or are on a low volume team or just like a really messy receiver. So I don't... There's a... I guess there's a world in which you could put Tet and Olave into the higher. So Tetero and McMillan and Olave. I wouldn't mind putting them in the tier above, but after that, you get into... You know, it's pretty murky from there. So I can see why you just kind of group these guys all together.
Speaker 3The way I thought of it in a way was if someone in your draft... Maybe this is a good dividing line of why I divide... I didn't do Olave. I didn't do Olave. and Ted Arroyo-McMillan is the tier above this, if someone in your league took that like Ashton Gentry or Marion Hampton, and instead they, someone took those receivers above Ashton Gentry, you'd be like, okay, these guys should be like, that's a mistake. You should not have done that. But then this, I mean, I don't even know, Craig, should I just read all these names? I mean, I feel, is that gonna be a gobbledygook to people? I don't know what to do. I mean, I'm just gonna read all these freaking names.
Speaker 4- I think read all the names and then we can pick the guys that we find to be the most interesting that we like.
Speaker 3- So this next tier, which I felt like if you went running back, running back, and then whatever happened, I don't know. And then you're like, well, my number one receiver is this, but I'm good elsewhere. You'd be like, okay. And it's Ted Arroyo-McMillan for the Panthers, Chris Olave for the Saints, Tee Higgins on the Bengals, Devonte Smith on the Eagles, Ladd McConkie for the Chargers, Emeka Ibuka for the Buccaneers. Malik Nabors for the Giants. I gotta move him all the way. He's out of here. Malik Nabors is done. But Garrett Wilson for the Jets, Devonte Adams for the Rams, Zay Flowers for the Ravens. I'm still going. Jalen Waddell for the Broncos, who I didn't know what to do. Luther Burden for the Bears. Terry McLaurin in Washington, which I felt weird not having him here. Mike Evans for the 49ers. Jameis Williams for the Lions. And then Christian Watson for the Packers, stuck in here because I felt weird not having Christian Watson in a tier with Garrett Wilson. So maybe that's too big. And again, I'm not saying all these guys you should take in the third round, but I look at it and I'm like, these guys do have somewhat similar profiles, if not necessarily similar styles.
Speaker 1- Who stands out? Who stands out the most here? I feel like Luther Burden is kind of a sore thumb in this group, maybe. - I agree. - He's like, we're projecting quite a lot here.
Speaker 4- I think Luther Burden and Roma Dunze need to be in the same tier, whether that means we drop Burden or raise a Dunze, but I think they need to be in the same tier.
Speaker 3- I agree. I would say DJ Moore and Roma Dunze should both be in this tier. I think DJ Moore on the Bills should be in this tier, even though he had a bad real life season. I think DJ Moore as a fantasy player should absolutely be. I would move both of them up, make it an 18 person tier, which sounds crazy, but I think it gets to the point Rich Rebar, from that article I was saying in the beginning of like a lot of the mega target guys are at the top and then there's this flattening effect on, for the most part, not everyone, most of these guys are on the field at all one or two receiver sets and they're starting. And they're either, as DK said, a number one receiver or like a high end number two on varying qualities of offenses. But I feel like the person I wanted to ask you about, Craig, was Devontae Smith and the Eagles, 'cause we've talked so much about AJ Brown, but now you have Devontae Smith, who's a number one, a Heisman winning receiver for the first time in 30 years when he won it. And then you've got a number one, he was like the top 12 draft pick who was incredible in a Superbowl and has been great, but has been in a low volume passing game. And now it's like, okay, I've talked a lot about AJ Brown, but what are we, how do you view Devontae Smith?
Speaker 4- And it's kind of funny that like, he maybe was the best wide receiver in the history of college football. And he's now like the number one wide receiver on his team. And no one seems to really care or is talking about it that much. And there's, it's, you could really like, just be like, don't overthink it. He's now the number one, he passes. It's like, I think Devontae Smith is great. When you watch him throughout his entire career in the NFL, to me, I'm like, this guy's good. He's been the number two in a low volume offense, but every time he has the opportunity, I feel like it's worked out and the numbers back it up. If you look at since 2022, Devontae Smith has run 187 routes without AJ Brown on the field. On those 187 routes, he's basically been a top eight wide receiver in like every metric. Yards per route run, targets per route run, expected fantasy points. He's been a top eight. And then when AJ Brown's on the field, he's like the wide receiver 25, which is kind of what he's usually. So I'm like, could you just stop right there? It's like, sure, I guess Makai Lemmon's there. And there's other things going on. Things have shifted a little bit. Dontavian Wicks is in Philly, things like that. But it might be as simple as just like AJ Brown is gone. When AJ Brown has not been on the field, Devontae Smith has been a top 10 wide receiver.
Speaker 1Is that it? - That resonates a lot with me. Yeah. He might be one of the best values in fantasy right now at receiver, just because there's bad vibes, bad sort of impression around Jalen Hurts as a passer. AJ Brown forcing his way out. Just can't stand being in that passing offense anymore. And everything you just said, I agree with. And I think, you know, talent wise, Devontae Smith is as good as anybody. He's just so incredible. He's one of those rare alien style receivers. His arms are like freakishly long, very smooth mover.
Speaker 3- It's literally called slim reaper or slim Batman, because no one wanted to be Robin.
Speaker 4- Isn't Durant slim reaper or no?
Speaker 3- Yeah, but well, he's also slim and Durant was really good when he was at Bama. So I think they call him slim reaper too. Maybe I'm making that up.
Speaker 1- But anyways, yeah, Devontae Smith. I like this one a lot. I think people are going to be looking past him because of the team he plays for. - So this is my question for you. - Also Durant did not go to Bama.
Speaker 3- No, he was at Texas. - No, I'm saying when Devontae Smith was at Bama, Durant was good in the NBA is what I meant. - Yeah. - I could have been clearer. The 37-year-old Durant did not overlap with 27-year-old Devontae Smith. But so DK, if I told you at the end of the season, Jalen Hurts has once again adapted to a new offensive coordinator and we should feel a little guilty for doubting this guy. And the Eagles offense is not elite, but it's perfectly serviceable. There's no question about Jalen Hurts. But that Devontae Smith has been the absolute star of this system. He's like an absolute top tier guy. And you're like, oh yeah, he's, probably in the tier below Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson. He's like, Devontae Smith is like the CD lamb of the Eagles. He's fantastic. Or I'm like, yeah, the Eagles offense looks really bad. Jalen, Eagles fans want to replace Hurts and Devontae Smith's been incredibly frustrating. Which path do you think it is? 'Cause I keep wondering about the talent here being outrageous and we're ignoring it.
Speaker 1- Yeah. I mean, I think it's more likely to be the second one, the latter of that. But I do think if the offensive line can kind of get back to where it was and be healthy this year, the Eagles could surprise a lot of people. I think they've been a team that kind of goes where the offensive line goes. Like if their offensive line is humming, then they're pretty much unstoppable. The two big variables that it's hard to answer how big of an impact it's going to have is, what does Sean Mannion bring as offensive coordinator for this team? And two, what is the loss of offensive line coach Stowland? What's his name? Jeff Stowland. - Jeff. - What does that do for the offensive line? Because he's been recognized as one of the great offensive line coaches, a massive force multiplier for the Eagles over the last few years. And Sirianni, he hates Sirianni so much, he decides to just leave. So I don't know. I think these are two big variables that are hard to quantify going into the season and what it's going to mean for their offense. But if the offensive line does have talent, maybe Stowland isn't actually as important as we think. And you know, if they can stay healthy, then this offense could be a lot better than we think it will be going in.
Speaker 4- We're going to spend a lot of time talking about these 20 wide receivers this season. I think like, figuring out who you really want to support and promote will make a huge difference. 'Cause like five of these guys are going to pop and five won't. And the remaining 10 will probably deliver exactly where you think.
Speaker 3- And the answer to me, it's just the whole exercise makes me feel that if I can't get, so this exercise I think reflects poorly to me on the George Pickens, Niko Collins, Drake London group, because I'd rather just take a running back in that group, like a Derrick Henry, O'Marion Hampton, Ashton Gentry, Chase Brown. Like I'd rather just have running backs because they're so, so many receivers. Like I'd rather have all these guys. I even like Ramondre Stevenson, but I'd rather have these guys than David Montgomery's Ramondre Stevenson's. Another person right in this group that I want to ask you, like Emeka Abuka for the Buccaneers who had, I think top five in receiving yards the first five weeks of the season, his first five games of his career. And then he had that quad injury and fell off. But now it's like Mike Evans is gone in Tampa and Chris Godwin's recovering from another injury. And I'm like, Emeka Abuka is also a great player in this tier that I wouldn't be shocked at all if he popped off.
Speaker 4- Yeah, Heifetz, you said A.J. Brown's your favorite player. This year, I think Emeka Abuka's mine. I think he is one of the best bets to be this year's Jackson Smith and Jigba. I go back to quarterback plus coordinator plus volume. Mike Evans is gone. Now he is surrounded by Jalen McMillan and 30 year old Chris Godwin who's had a lot of injuries. And they brought in like Ted Hurst who they drafted, but they also brought in a new offensive coordinator, Zach Robinson, who was in Atlanta last year. And I think the big difference, a lot of what we talked about at the top of the pod was like, wide receiver yards are down, passing is down. And a lot of that is because there's more tight ends on the field and there's just less wide receivers on the field. And Ryan Heath at Fantasy Points has been doing a great job writing about this, about like the impact of two wide receiver sets, how important it is when there's just two wide receivers on the field versus three, and how many more fantasy points you score when there's just two guys versus three guys. The odds of you getting a target goes way up. And basically what the Bucks did last year was there was always three guys on the field. And what Zach Robinson, does in Atlanta, did in Atlanta, and what he's going to do in Tampa Bay, is there's going to be two guys on the field a lot. And not only that, the way they're talking about using Ibuka compared to how they used Ibuka last year, is that they're going to be using him in this Cooper Cup style role. Zach Robinson was in LA with the Rams and Zach Robinson has mentioned it saying like, he's going to be the zero in this offense. It's the Cooper Cup role. And the amount of preparation and work Ibuka is putting in, like he walked into the NFL and was immediately just like a professional. He had two touchdowns his first game. And the first five games of the season, before he got there, he got hurt. He was in like elite territory. I can throw a couple of stats at you, one from Ryan Heath. The most PPR fantasy points over a wide receiver's first five games this century, Puka Nakua, Randy Moss, Emeka Ibuka. That's in the 21st century. - Damn. More than Malik Nabors. - Can you say that again? - Say the next two guys too. - Most PPR fantasy points over a wide receiver's first five career games this century. Puka Nakua, Randy Moss, Emeka Ibuka, Malik Nabors, and Jamar Chase.
Speaker 3- So that is, fuck, that's actually insane. And that's an important thing though, 'cause here's the thing, that's not an arbitrary cutoff you picked. Emeka Ibuka, think a lot of people are underrating him because he played through a quad injury because the buccaneers said oh i'm not going to pretend to know why he played through it but while ameka buka played through a quad injury that was clearly hampering him the buccaneers offensive line was just destroyed like the office the right tackle like the box were just dropping alignment like flies and baker started playing through injuries and so ameka buka kind of had the amari cooper where you're playing through injuries so people underrate your performance and start being like what's wrong with you but it's like well they're hurt and they're trying to play hurt for their team to so Todd Bowles and everyone doesn't lose their job and they make the playoffs so in a weird way I mean just I'll pick on Yahoo because we know like a lot of the people work there they won't get mad at us Emeka Buka is like outside the top 50 yeah I'm like if Emeka Buka had not gone hurt last year I'm like Emeka Buka would be a third round pick at worst and so in a funny way I know I made fun of you for this last week DK but Emeka Buka is a rookie you can buy the dip on because you're like as Craig as you always say he I've seen enough like we saw enough from Emeka Buka in the first five weeks that he's a legit NFL player he's getting this role if anything him playing through an injury is like punishing him I completely agree he's like a screen if you get AJ Brown and Emeka Buka this year like I will die I'll die peacefully and like I just believe in
Speaker 4how they will use him this year will be so much more advantageous for him than last year he had he ran 529 routes last season he was in motion on 29 of them 29 of the 529 of the 529 routes last season he was in motion on 29 of them 29 of the 529 routes last season he was in 29 routes he ran he was in motion like they were not using him like like this the star of the offense and now he's going to be with Mike Evans gone and with the way Zach Robinson worked with two wide receiver sets and with using him in this like Cooper Cup style role like I would not be surprised if he's like wide receiver six like I will be reaching for him this year so DK is there
Speaker 3anyone in this tier that makes you feel the way Emeka Buka makes Craig feel the six to midnight
Speaker 1if you will well Craig once again has done an amazing job of convincing me that I need to get Buka in every one of my drafts so thank you no not the ringer fantasy I think you're dead on I don't think any of these guys give me that feeling because I think the rest of them are kind of there's just like big question marks with everybody Garrett Wilson's the Jets offense
Speaker 3he's never I'm just like if Garrett Wilson has his breakout 1500 yard season good for him yeah
Speaker 1I think with me there's a there's a world in which you could talk about Ladd McConkie in the same way that you talk about at Buka um in this new look offense for the Chargers and the Mike Mike McDaniel offense and um I think he's very good like that to me this is the bottom line like I think Ladd McConkie's a really good player and has a chance in this new offense and with a good quarterback to really take a big jump off after having a sophomore slump um and then I'm just like the rest of these guys are all over the place so the guy I want to talk about though that I don't know where to land on is a flowers um I know you guys are kind of down on him I think the he's he's the one who I is on every ranking other than touchdowns no I'm talking about Zay Flowers oh like Zay Flowers last year quietly sixth in scrimmage yards among receivers he had over 12 he had almost 1300 scrimmage yards uh which was uh you know among the elites at the position however he was 32nd in touchdowns tied with such greats as Trey Tucker, Tez Johnson, Torrey Horton, Marquise Brown, and Isaac Tesla among others um he's just not used when they get anywhere near the end zone he's the Kenneth Walker of receivers they just they just like ignore him after they get inside the 20 yard line which
Speaker 3Rich Rebar to that point Rich Rebar again in short football at great stat Zay Flowers has 18 end zone targets in three years so he's averaging he gets one end zone target a week yeah sorry every three
Speaker 1weeks yeah and when he does have an opportunity to score he fumbles it he just runs sideways
Speaker 3it's like he just he's not he thinks he's like Tyree Kill but he's not so it's just run north south I will say I I've been so frustrated with Zay Flowers last year that I'm a little worried that he's my like the high fits person he's your blind spot maybe I I'm a little worried that Zay Flowers is like the guy this year we should have solely because if I'm strongly I don't want him yeah I can't believe he's only 25 years old I feel like he's been in my life for a decade he's only played three Carl Pitts has played two more seasons
Speaker 1than Zay Flowers it's critically like who else is gonna I mean I we don't use this often but like who else is gonna be the the big volume guy in this offense I mean it's him and Mark Andrews probably I mean I don't think Bateman's never produced a good season for him I don't think proven to be a high volume guy Elijah Surratt was the rookie that got at Indiana he led the
Speaker 3end he led all of college football and touchdown passes last year he's a classic like not that athletic but he's big understand space he's the back shoulder guy with Mendoza he was like almost like what Aaron Rodgers wishes Alan Lazard had been you know what I mean and so but I'm not convinced he's gonna be on the field you know what I mean like I just I don't know I don't like
Speaker 1right now it's a question is whether he'll even be on the field as a rookie and so I don't know to me the Zay Flowers one of the things that I'm not convinced of is that he's going to be on the field I don't think he's gonna be on the field I don't think he's gonna be on the field I don't think he's gonna be on the field I don't think he's gonna be on the field I don't think he's gonna be on the field I don't think he's gonna be on the field I don't think he's gonna be on the field stands out as like a guy that we could be too low on because of what he did in terms of volume get 86 catches for 1211 yards last year and we're not we've barely talked about him at all and if this offense improves under Declan Doyle like maybe Declan Doyle is this big variable that all of a sudden the Ravens offense is is really humming again and look in Lamar looks back looks more like Lamar I mean two years ago Lamar threw 41 touchdowns so didn't he like he like there is a world in which this stat that is holding us back touchdowns which has always been kind of a high variant stat stat holding us the year that Lamar threw 41 touchdowns they had four well sure who had all the touchdowns then who stole everybody else well that's funny we have
Speaker 4no who's still here they're gone no one knows no one knows who scored all those fucking touchdowns I actually don't fucking know I'm looking at it so no one has any idea who I don't know Mark Andrews probably I don't know who scored all those fucking touchdowns
Speaker 1had like 11 yeah look it up 20 what was it 2024 24 no one I don't know if anyone did it might have just been it might be like a ghost kitchen they went into the receivers okay here's the
Speaker 4people who caught the touchdown you'll never believe it when I tell you Mark Andrews did have 11 um Rashad Bateman had nine Isaiah likely there's no way you could there's no way you can convince me Rashad Bateman Isaiah likely had six Justice Hill caught three Derek Henry two
Speaker 3Nelson Aguilar two and then work your way down even when you look at these numbers you're like does this add to 44 11 9 6 4 2 2 like that's not 44 the Patrick Ricard had one Patrick Ricard Charlie
Speaker 4Kohler Tylan Wallace Tylan Wallace Devontez Walker hell Aguilar had one Derek Henry caught two Derek Henry caught half as many touchdowns as Zay Flowers it's same season Derek my point is
Speaker 1it's a it's a high variance stat maybe this will be the year that Zay Flowers break sure I I I feel
Speaker 3that way about Zay Flowers is Chris Olave where I'm like all the underlying stuff suggests that maybe he's much better than you'll consider and uh I kind of don't want them but Olave I just am still I'm unmoved by him as a football player but the only unmoved he doesn't stir your loins is there anyone else in this tier you want to talk about like like the I agree DK that my version of Ibuka in this tier like Ladd McConkie is if he could stay healthy like I'm like yeah he's already hurt which bothers me but I just love Christian Watson I was blown away by his ACL recovery and and I how good he looked kind of I actually kind of think he might have been played better than he ever has when he came back from ACL nine months on the dot and I don't think that's a coincidence like he'd be doing all this work we always joke about the Alvin Kamara leg weight thing where Kamara weighed his legs and they were different and they do that to kind of help your hamstrings because they're hamstring training and Watson had so many hamstring injuries that he was going to this um place in Wisconsin and kind of getting his hamstrings measured and I think that helped his ACL recovery because he you know the fear with the ACL recovery is the compensatory issues you pull your hamstring after you come back from an ACL tear and try to play professional football again it happens all the time and I think Watson's recovery was aided because he'd already done all this work and had all this data on his hamstrings all this to say when you look at how explosive Christian Watson was when he came back and how he transformed the Packers offense and then they get lose Romeo Dobbs and free agents to the Patriots and then Don Taven Wicks gets traded to the Packers sorry to the Eagles the Packers just have a they have a skill set there's no rotation anymore in Green Bay it is they have Christian Watson and Matthew Gold in the first rounder and Jaden Reed those are the three receivers and they have their tight ends it's Tucker Kraft it's uh honestly it's John Fitzpatrick the tight end guy and Luke Busgrave and like that's their team that's their offense I Watson to me is the guy that like if you're like who's here shockingly could be a top five receiver in fantasy a month then I'm like I don't know all Watson does is fucking score touchdowns
Speaker 4I I agree I it's remarkable he tore his ACL in January came back week eight kind of just looked great immediately which was remarkable uh dude also the some of the numbers about when Watson's like actually like playing a lot on the field he's so good well when he in in games or he uh has above a 75 percent route share he averages over 17 fantasy points a game which puts him at wide receiver six like when the guy's on the field and he's running routes it usually works out and he checks my box the boxes of quarterback plus coordinator plus volume now if
Speaker 3we believe in the volume and all this what does this mean for people I think what it means is if you're in a two receiver league and it doesn't shake out that you can get like Jamar chase or puka I you know maybe you do want Justin Jefferson because as you're saying there's so few guys that get 30 of their offense but it's like I think at least the way I'm looking at is I don't mind getting two or three great running backs to start because to your point like there are so many guys we're excited about that you can get a buka and Christian Watson and a lot of these guys I don't know you can you can get these fourth or fifth round receivers or I don't know I don't know they seem incredibly valuable to me this year when do you guys want to talk about Luther burden
Speaker 4I don't do that now or later let's do it let's do it now go for it what are we waiting for hyvets is is i'm overly excited i love luther burden and i know hyvets is going to come in and be mr rational and be like this is overhyped don't you know whatever maybe better real life and fantasy that's all fine and i'm willing to acknowledge that but like there's one guy every year you're just like i'm gonna be irrational about him you know i mean like had a couple drinks at the bar it's 1 a.m lights are low i'm watching tape i'm watching highlights on espn and i'm like this guy's fucking got it you know like my god the eye test is just electric and what what if he's just amon ross saint brown but even more explosive with
Speaker 3ben he's way more explosive but better yeah he's jameson williams he's jameson williams i think
Speaker 4yeah but no but he's he's way thicker and like more durable i feel like and more powerful than jameson williams who to me is like a snake weaving through the field i feel like luther burden is has more oomph to him but
Speaker 3um he's an insane ludicrous athlete dk you always talk about guys being five stars for reason luther burden is like a true five-star caliber the people in the fantasy community
Speaker 4talk about like yards per route run and and i'm it's probably overhyped and you can say like okay cool you pick the one stat but he is like second like all time on rookie yards per route it's like odell beckham him like of people who just like him you gotta just call him just call him him him burden and then if you read like ben johnson who i think is actually like pretty savvy with the media and kind of knows how to manipulate it ben johnson just i feel like has his shit together but the stuff he's saying about luther burden like he's he literally said he's a problem he was like he's gonna be a problem he was like the way he's approached this off season he's been electric he's been extremely coachable um and like dj moore's gone so i i like roma dunes as well and i think roma dunes has been very underrated but i'm just like fuck what if luther burden is the guy
Speaker 1you know yeah yeah yeah uh luther burden he was also drafted by the current regime or at least the current coach and so that could be a big big because i remember like when they drafted him too
Speaker 3like ben johnson was so stoked i don't disagree with anything you're saying poor little he's the horny police guy it's like bonk yeah it's like a bonk it's like all right i get it you're six to midnight for luther burden here's my issue everyone agrees with you and it's more than priced in like i agree if luther burden was going 80 if he's a seventh round pick in drafts i'd be like that's the sexiest seventh round receiver i've ever seen in my life the problem is you have to pick the people on the board with luther burden are like tenor roa mcmillan who's like maybe just a dominant number one receiver that's like could outperform drake london or nico collins this year like tenor roa mcmillan is an unbelievable player top six in that same draft who i don't know like dk you you you're a draft expert here you scout all these guys i'm like how much better can luther burden really do than tenor roa mcmillan who had a thousand yards and seven touchdowns in his rookie year despite and then the panthers offense got way better as the season went and then the panthers which we have memory hold really almost beat the rams in the playoffs like the panthers were really close to beating the rams in the playoffs i i don't know it's that's my issue i'm like the idea of taking burden over tet mcmillan makes me nuts most of the
Speaker 1time except for except for i guess mecca bucca and jmo have like done it multiple years and then we got luther burden i think that's the only thing but he's got a little more jackson you have to you have to skate where the puck is going as we like to say you know maybe this is the year that luther burden really breaks out i could see it no more dj more no more rotation at receiver it's going to be luther burden it's going to be roman dunes day and whoever else is on the field there are two tight ends um but and that could be by the way it could be a really good thing going back to what craig said where maybe they just run a lot of two tight end sets with comet and uh colson loveland and then you get more volume into luther burden and roman dunes and it's like we're all happy so i don't know there's there is this chance that he actually outplays this spot we
Speaker 3don't have him right now he's so good okay but where's he going next year in this world like what does he do what does he do i i don't want to be against luther burden i'm just like if you sounds like you do you don't know the rules of hockey but if you skate too far ahead to where the puck's going it's actually called icing and it's a it's a it's a penalty yeah look i i
Speaker 4agree that it's a bummer it's a bummer how many how hyped people are about him because you're right he's very high in the rankings and i'm not gonna reach for him because reaching beyond where he already is is like a problem reach so yeah it's like if he comes to me double reach i will accept him with open arms but like to be honest with you like if i'm staring at garrett wilson or luther burden terry mclaurin or luther burden even though i kind of like terry mclaurin this year i don't know malik neighbors dj moore jameson williams i'm like i'm fine with taking
Speaker 3i got a name for you how about colston loveland the end of the bears if it's loveland and burden how confident are you luther burden will be better than colston loveland loveland will be doing it a tight end i just want to be on the bears he just doesn't care yeah i like the bears i do too it breaks my heart i feel like you know i i i the last thing in the world is i want to do is be anti-bears i just feel like everyone is pro bears and so it's just everyone's priced in a manner that i don't know i i just looked i look at roma dunzey who i'm like well he's like two rounds behind him and he's like he's like loveland and burden and i just feel like he's probably gonna have a better season
Speaker 1yeah i mean the foot thing though i think is the main issue with everyone yeah so to get into that
Speaker 4a little bit so one in the same way that abuka kind of exploded for the first month of the season dunzey was doing the same thing first four weeks before he kind of hurt his foot and things got weird first four weeks wide receiver three yeah like was crushing it and looked awesome and looked like that weird rookie season was over and then he had this foot injury which i can quote him talking about it this offseason he said quote it's not from a standpoint that i'm like always in pain but the way my foot broke there's calluses in there that creates a different type of foot structure with those bones different things that kind of shift things around so my new normal is kind of what i'm going to do and i don't think that's anything that's going to prohibit me or keep me from making plays i'm gonna move
Speaker 3luther burden up i know everybody was like oh the new normal scary i don't have much in common with football players but i do i too have a different type of foot structure and uh roma dunzey's running out here in 4e wide shoes what's the brand you use brooks baby yeah free ad shout out my brook beasts that all the everyone stopped yeah the beast you guys see the hyphens fours are out the beast my my i have friends doctors shoe salesmen all people have been like you gotta every time i try to wear other shoes like
Speaker 1when hyphen skills to put on his shoes they he looks like he's doing the like he's getting a horseshoe on they have to like stick a thing in craig do you remember the shoes i used to put
Speaker 3they're out of business they were called ecteos they had ankle braces built into the shoes
Speaker 6you gotta buy all the dead stock they were like moon boots yeah yeah they had a clearance sale
Speaker 3i bought like six because i was like no one's ever gonna make this product ever again but no i dude my i have the flattest foot you've ever you could ever conceive it's just like a chalk
Speaker 1line it's like my did you ever swim as a child i bet you can swim so fast i i actually could
Speaker 4swim fast like the old wooden sandals that like jesus walked on that's what hyphens is dealing
Speaker 1with my favorite he kind of has a michael phelps body long arms and huge flipper feet yeah exactly the same it's almost exactly the same except for he's more buoyant me and phil's my party trick
Speaker 3during ringer pickup when i wasn't fouling the shit out of everyone was if i chased people down on fast breaks my clopping like clydesdale clopping footsteps the footsteps people would hear were so loud it was like the object and mirror seems closer than it appears like i remember richie bozak could never make a layup on me fast because he always thought i was right behind him and i was like barely halfway there yeah you he quite literally heard footsteps but yeah hyphens invented that they're just like so loud it's like oh it's like
Speaker 4front row imax business decision anyway so the romadunze thing scares me remember when aaron donald was coming down the pike oh my god oh my god that's what it's like my favorite ever was
Speaker 3also the the pack oh my god i forget which left tackle it was for the packers but it was the maybe it was jordan morgan i forget who it was but then miles garrett beat him in two seconds like
Speaker 6a quarter of a second jordan run run jordan it's like fucking when richie had a fast break
Speaker 4hyphens picking up steam like the fucking guy in happy gilmore yeah i was like run richie
Speaker 3also because i'm going to take out your legs on the layup so that you fall and just kind of send
Speaker 6a message he's not above giving you a like a like a career-ending injury yeah if you're gonna foul
Speaker 3it so bothers me when they foul and don't miss i'm like just hit him harder yeah anyway i'm concerned about luther i'm concerned about romadunze's foot now but it might be fine and
Speaker 4dj moore's gone and romadunze is just like one of the two relevant wide receivers on the team and he might end up being great i don't know we have or burden in loveland and adunze are all awesome and this becomes hard to predict it's like the lions it's like the lions or the lions everybody was just kind of good like you could just draft them all like it might be like that well that's
Speaker 3that's what i'm saying okay okay we should probably move on to the next tier yeah although i'm moving dj more up in this the next year is one person it's malik neighbors who i think is good enough to he could be a tier two guy i i think he's probably gonna miss the beginning of the season i think he's gonna miss the first month maybe more of the season i'm concerned about him i'm concerned about like neighbors returning to immediate form and so unless you guys disagree if malik neighbors is missing the first four to six weeks or whatever i'm not taking him above any of these people i don't want neighbors coming off an injury with what does not look like a christian watson-esque recovery from this ACL meniscus issue, I'm not taking neighbors over Christian Watson or Mike Evans or Burden or Abuka or Devante Smith or Adunze. It's just not the situation I want. And then neighbors, I would take between the next guys, I would take the upside. So I think that's where I'm going to move him way down. I think a six round pick, someone else can take them and hold them. But then this next tier here we have, which I kind of thought of this and I have as requires some sort of faith in this player. Like big upside, but it's Alec Pierce on the Colts. And Colonel Tate on the Titans, who's obviously top four pick, but he's a rookie. Jordan Tyson on the Saints, who's a rookie already a little banged up. Coralton Sutton on the Broncos, now that the Broncos have Jalen Waddell. DK Metcalf on the Steelers, which is Aaron Rodgers reuniting with Mike McCarthy a decade later. Michael Wilson and Marvin Harrison Jr. on the Cardinals. I will go to my deathbed at making sure we have Michael Wilson higher than Marvin Harrison this year. I have some thoughts on that. Ricky Parasol on the Niners. Brian Thomas and Parker Washington on the Jaguars back to back because you don't want to do with them. Quentin Johnson on the Chargers. Jordan Addison on the Vikings. And Chris Godwin on the Bucs. I think all those guys, we could quibble with it, but I'm happy to move some guys out of this tier if you don't like them.
Speaker 4DK, hit me with your Michael Wilson take.
Speaker 1This is less of a take and more of just a, like, look at the numbers and tell me that this doesn't worry you type of deal. Because high fits might just ignore this and hand wave it and that's fine. But in the five games where Marvin Harrison did not play last year, he was not on the field. Michael Wilson averaged 21 points per game. He had a third. 32% target rate. He averaged nine catches on 13 targets, almost 14 targets, and had 119 yards per game. Those are the five games. He was the best receiver in the NFL. He was number one receiver in the NFL in the five games in which Marvin Harrison was not playing. In the other 12 games in which Marvin Harrison did play, he averaged six points per game. He had a 14% target rate, two and a half receptions per game on five targets and 34 yards per game. What the fuck do we do with this guy?
Speaker 4Did you guys see the photo of how big Marvin Harrison got? Oh, he's okay. He's even bigger. He looks like A.J. Brown up there.
Speaker 3He's getting so big. Receivers don't need that kind of strength. Look at D.K. Metcalf. Look at A.J. Brown. It's fine.
Speaker 1I think he's insecure because he sucks.
Speaker 4He looks like the after in Captain America.
Speaker 1He's so pissed at how high fits is talking about him that he's been lifting and just like listening. He was like, I'll get even bigger.
Speaker 3I'll do it again. The goofy meme. I'll do it again. Again, his arms, you don't catch football with your fucking biceps. I don't understand. Well, maybe he'll try.
Speaker 1Well, it has been kind of an issue him getting out muscle at the catch point. Maybe he does actually need to get stronger.
Speaker 3But that's my concern is that like, to me, it adds to the perception that he is getting out physical that he can't get open. And they're like, well, he's a physical power guy. He needs it. But you're adding this kind of muscle. I don't know. I don't think that's necessarily a good sign that he's getting. I mean, look, it's not bad that he's getting ripped. But I'm concerned that he's getting ripped because I think he underlies a concern in the process.
Speaker 4Are you saying that in this tier of guys that Heifetz just listed out, if you had to pick one of them to be like a top 10 dude this year, you think it's going to be Marvin Harrison?
Speaker 1Let's see here. So this is a huge ass tier again. I probably would, of guys that I think could be in the top 10, I'd probably pick Brian Thomas over Marvin Harrison. And that's probably it. Yeah. Because just based on pedigree, based on, you know, like name and where he could, where he went in the draft. And I think he was talented, like coming out, like I'm not going to just completely deny that he looked like he was awesome in college. And I think he could get back to that point, but it is a big projection. I don't think Michael Wilson's going to be a top 10 or C over this year. I don't think DK Metcalf will because of the quarterback situation. I think Sutton's going to get hurt by Waddle. And then I don't think any of these.
Speaker 3Like a Tonya Harding situation?
Speaker 1His target rate will be impacted by Waddle. So I don't think any of these other guys range of outcomes like top 10 is probably not realistic. So yes, I think it's Harrison and Thomas.
Speaker 3Brian Thomas to me was, he was like what the fourth best receiver in fantasy two years ago as a rookie year. And then they miscast him and he had an injury and it was a little bit of, it was just a bad situation.
Speaker 1He said he was in pain every time he ran.
Speaker 3And you saw it. And I'm like,
Speaker 1it's a doomsday thing. Yeah.
Speaker 3He's the most obvious bounce back guy to me. Brian Thomas. I just like the idea that he's going to be a seventh round draft pick. Because people hate, I don't know. It's to me, he's just purely out of principle. Like you bet on those people over, you know, Jordan Addison. But the other, yeah. I mean, there's Parker Washington. I don't know. I like him a lot in real life, but he led the league, the team in receiving yards after Brian Thomas got hurt. But I don't know if I want to bet on him.
Speaker 1I think he'll be a useful fantasy player, not a superstar in fantasy. Yeah.
Speaker 3I have Quentin Johnson. If you're listening to us talk about Ladd-McConkie and the charges and you're like, well, he's always hurt. Let me tell you, let me tell you something. If Ladd-McConkie misses time, Quentin Johnson on crossers in a Mike McDaniel offense, he did improve catching the football this year. My biggest ick is receivers who cannot catch the football. He's not elite at it, but Quentin Johnson did improve. I think he's an average catcher of the football. Like he received the ball better.
Speaker 1He's a below average catcher, but he did improve.
Speaker 3Which is, it's important to not be the worst in the league at something. It is. He was terrible. I do think that as a player who on a weekly basis, if Ladd is missing time, I think Quentin Johnson, also leaps off the page to me.
Speaker 1This stat, I know, look, this isn't probably going to happen again this year, but this stat really jumped out to me. He had the same amount of touchdowns last season as Jamar Chase. Like what? Dude, I'm telling you, man. Quentin Johnson?
Speaker 4There was a stretch where he was doing it like every week. He didn't even play a full season last year.
Speaker 1He had 14, he had 14 games. He had eight touchdowns, which is the same as Jamar.
Speaker 3There's something to, again, coming back to the principles where we have to remind ourselves, you see the names on the page and you're like, okay, but who are the quarterback with the play callers? How do we feel about the offense? And we're talking about, I don't love the Cardinals this year. Maybe that's stupid of me, but I, we're talking about Brian Thomas where we love Trevor Lawrence and we love Liam Cohen. We're talking about Quentin Johnson where we love Justin Herbert. We like Mike McDaniel. And the other guy is Ricky Parasol where it's Brock Purdy and Kyle Shanahan and Mike Evans who always misses time. And I think Ricky Parasol, who, I mean, he's missed a lot of time the last two years for a bunch of, not just getting shot, but also other injuries. But that's another guy that I don't think people realize that he's actually really good.
Speaker 4No, I mean, all the stats about, every time Ricky Parasol like plays a full game, it usually goes well. Like, he's had five games where he's had more than five targets, but he's averaging 92 yards a game when he does that. Like, once again, I feel like I've been mentioning a lot of guys who had a great first month and then got hurt. That was also Ricky Parasol. First three weeks of the season, third in the NFL in receiving yards. Like, and it's going to be Mike Evans and Ricky Parasol and George Kittle is probably not going to be back week one. And so it's like, if Ricky Parasol is healthy, I think, there is no way he finishes this low next, this season.
Speaker 3I totally agree. And this is, again, coming back to like, why I feel really, I think you do want dudes from this tier as well because you're not going to be able to get everyone from this top one. But I mean, if you can round out your receiver room with like Ricky Parasol and then whoever floats your, but like, I would love to get like Ricky Parasol and Ryan Thomas. Do you guys, how does that make you feel?
Speaker 1I have a general question about this tier. How does it make you feel that Alec Pierce is at the top of it? Do you have any confidence? Do you have any confidence in Alec Pierce?
Speaker 3He had an ankle surgery after signing for 30 million a year.
Speaker 1He's the first one on this list.
Speaker 6Why is he so high? Are we getting peer pressure? I'm rubbed the wrong way by his contract.
Speaker 4I don't know. The Alec Pierce sweepstakes pissed me off. It's like Christian Kirk. Is it because he's
Speaker 3a white receiver?
Speaker 4Yeah, maybe. I just kind of like, to be honest, the guy who I'm like kind of curious about is Josh Downs on the Colts. He's the top of the next tier. I didn't know what to do with him either. I'm like, yeah, Michael Pittman's gone and I feel like everyone was talking about him and talking about last year how actually secretly good Josh Downs is and it didn't really work out, but I'm kind of like...
Speaker 1Because he wasn't on the field enough now. Yeah.
Speaker 4And now I'm like, well, Michael Pittman's gone. Alec Pierce is hurt. Josh Downs is fucking good.
Speaker 3I like where your head's at. Josh Downs, quick, how old do you think he is? 25. 26? He's 24. He turns 25 soon.
Speaker 5Woo.
Speaker 1He's the Jaden Reed of the Colts. He's a guy who every time he touches the ball something good happens. You just know he's good, but then they don't play him. They haven't played him on two receiver sets and I think that's going to change this year just like Jaden Reed. And guess what? He's right next to Jaden Reed. I was going to say. I didn't even mean to do that, but that's...
Speaker 3Jaden, they are next to each other and to your point about not playing in three receiver sets, again, Rich Rebar, incredible stat. Jaden Reed, who's been in the NFL for how long? Three years? No, four. Three years, I think. I don't know. I think he's actually played, yeah, three seasons. Jaden Reed, in his career, has run eight routes from one or two receiver sets. Jesus. He's just been the third guy.
Speaker 4Yeah.
Speaker 3But I do think that will change because I don't think it's going to be Christian Watson and Matthew Golden in like 100% of the two receiver sets for the Packers. I think Jaden Reed's going to be rotating in way more. But yeah, he's been a purely slot receiver because he's a smaller guy, Jaden Reed. I mean, he's bigger than Josh Dowd.
Speaker 1If what you say is true, Heifetz, and they do rotate him in on two receiver sets, he's ranked way too low.
Speaker 3That's the thing. I love Jaden Reed. He's a good example of like, I always tell people like it should be more than a tiebreaker if you actually randomly love a player. I love watching Jaden Reed play football because he plays like a grown man, even though he blocks like a grown ass man, but he doesn't get it plays like a professional like he could have played for Indiana this year. Like he just has that pro level to him. I also the Packers get Jaden Reed the football in the goal line like the Packers are designing and trying to get him the football because they trust him to execute and finish block. And I just, I love that about him and I think last year he had this whole thing in a foot injury he was managing. Then he broke his collarbone making a sick catch. Then he was like, well, fuck it. I broke my collarbone. I'll get foot surgery to say this, but like, I think he's a good example of guy that people have forgotten about for all these reasons. But I believe so much in his talent, even if he's not some elite receiver, I believe so much in it as a good player on your life team that.
Speaker 1Yeah. And to, to add onto that, it's Craig's equation. It's also good quarterback and scheme is good.
Speaker 4Exactly. And yeah, play caller quarterback volume.
Speaker 3It's the kind of season I don't mind betting on in this tier where you're like, Jane Reed is going to be one of your later receivers. But I'm like, but I don't think it'd be weird if you had 10 touchdowns because the Packers looked to get in the ball to go in. The other people in this tier, it's Jane Reed, Josh Downs. It's similar players. Honestly, it's Wanda Robinson for the Titans, who a similar ass player, but the Titans gave him so much money that like, you know, maybe it's a weird team. Michael Pittman on the Steelers with Rogers. That's a weird one. Jacoby Myers and the Jaguars. It's just like the rug that makes the room fit together for the Jackson. The offense and kind of almost allows everyone to play the roles that succeeds. Makai Lemon on the Eagles, who I, of all the rookie receivers, I think he's great, but I don't know about this specific season being a great breakout situation for him. Matthew Golden for the Packers, which burned the shit out of me last year, but then he played great for a catch in the playoffs and wrote me back in.
Speaker 4I was talking to this guy yesterday. He works at Spotify, Sam. He's in Australia and he listens to our show and he was like, shout out, Sam. He was like, oh yeah, I don't listen to you guys. Talk about fantasy anymore. I just like hanging out with you guys. But like, I've recommended Matthew Golden and completely fucked me.
Speaker 3Well, fuck me too. Yeah. Matthew Golden is, um, it's worse than being dead to me. Like Xavier Worthy's right next to him. Xavier Worthy's dead to me. Matthew Golden's worse where he made, like he had one game where I'm like, he's good. He's going to be good still. Yeah. Xavier Worthy is just like, not my type. I just, I'm just not interested. When you spend so much time being like, well, it's not just that he's really fast and small and not big. It's not just that he's really big enough at the NFL level. And then like running into Travis Kelsey on your first touch of the season hurts you for the whole year. I, yeah, I, I honestly, it's just Andy reach has been looking for this new Deshaun Jackson, Tyree kill forever. And like Mikko Hardman, Xavier Worthy, all these speed guys just chasing the past. And it's like, it's actually kind of sad. It's not going to, I don't know.
Speaker 1The only world in which Worthy is really good value and really important, I think, in fantasy this year is if he just replaces Rasheed Rice, which. Maybe that will happen because Rasheed Rice is not on the field, but, um, he could, cause I remember when he was coming into the league, everyone was like, oh, he's so fast. He set the record for 40, blah, blah, blah. He's a speedster. I didn't see any of that really translate to deep perceptions in college. Like he was way more of a catch and run, run after the catch. Like it basically the way that they use Rasheed Rice in this offense, like get him in space and let him run after the catch. That's what he did in college.
Speaker 3It was hard because he had a broken hand and at Texas and the quarterbacks at Texas had iffy.
Speaker 1It was Quinn yours, I think was constantly just like under throwing him and whatnot.
Speaker 3But, and so it made it, yeah, it was like Kenny track and it's honestly, it's a real Matthew golden worthy. Your legs to each other for this, like that. Really? Guess what?
Speaker 1Like throwing deep to last like two years. Yeah. It's been weird. Um, so anyways, that's my, the only theory I have on worthy is if, in where he could be drastically underrated here is, is if they just use him in the Rasheed Rice role, which probably won't happen.
Speaker 3The only other person for this too, that might be underrated. Is Jalen Coker for the Panthers is good. This next tier there, which is clearly guys who might not get drafted or like the last guy on your roster, which again, philosophically, I always go upside and someone I can cut or could be great. I, I, you know, is there anyone here, cuz it's those kind of guys or Khalil Shakir's or the bills and Romeo Dobbs or the Patriots where like veterans who make you feel safer for having had them, but maybe not will transform your season. Um, which do you guys lean toward the end of the draft and who's the person that stands out to you here?
Speaker 1Um, I like. I feel like Antonio Williams in this group does it's like a potential sleeper just because he, uh, he could end up being the number two receiver on rookie receiver drafted by Washington. We'll keep rookie receiver second half of the year. Maybe, um, keep an eye out for that. And then if you're really like, if you want a floor play guy, like you just want to, if you have a high variance receivers, I think Khalil Shakir can be that for you. Like plug him in, you'll get, he'll, he'll get you nine or 10 points. Like that's not necessarily going to win you a league, but if you miss on the first wave of receivers, he could be a guy. Um, and then, yeah, I mean, the rest of these guys are pretty super, super high variance. Like Casey concepts, you know, I love, but he's on Cleveland. Not really sure how that offense is going to look. Um, I know 80 Mitchell has been getting a lot of buzz this off season. We'll see how that goes. That is my guy in this.
Speaker 3Like you're talking about high upside. You're like, no one doubt 80 Mitchell's an incredibly talented guy that was drafted in the second round. That teams are just, again, he did the ditch, the ball at the one yard line thing. You know what I mean? Where he celebrated too early, but he's a playmaker. That is an explosive, incredible. I use an incredible athlete. And as DK, as you always say, moves different. He does. And he's an incredible separator. And look, if I'm going to bet on the jet, a Gino Smith's second tenure on the jets, 12 years later, I'm going to do it with like my last pick 80 Mitchell instead of Garrett Wilson with my fourth pick. But if the jets are good and you believe in the jets, I think 80 Mitchell is the guy on all this group outside of maybe Stefan Diggs signing somewhere and being great. I'd be least. Surprised by 80 Mitchell just instantly being a competent, very explosive number two receiver than any of these other ones where there's so many ifs, ands, or buts, I guess, other than Romeo Dobbs, maybe for the Patriots. Just be good.
Speaker 1But the guy who's on this list that just makes me sad is Travis Hunter, 70th receiver.
Speaker 3I've capitulated. If you guys disagree, I don't know. I just I just think there's no way he's and he's not going to play over like he cannot play over Parker Washington or Jacoby Myers or Brian Thomas. Now, if there's an injury, then maybe that's the obvious answer. We're somewhere in a corner, you know, like he's recovering from an LCL injury to his knee. So the problem is, are you going to play offense, defense and rehab when offense defense didn't work last year? He's going to play defense.
Speaker 4So this is not an inspiring list. I mean, I might look at like Casey Concepcion is a first round wide receiver. You can get him in the outside the top 150. Like maybe you're taking shots like that. Yeah. Jalen Naylor on Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 3We have a legal obligation to remind you. Yes, Browns.
Speaker 4Right. Jalen Naylor. On the Raiders. I'm like, they don't really have a number one wide receiver, but I'm like, it's just Jalen McMillan on the Bucs might be the number two on that team.
Speaker 3Yeah. These are dart throws. And Jalen McMillan is such a fit.
Speaker 1Yeah, I like that one. I think he's good. Yeah, I do, too.
Speaker 3We complain so much about a dynasty trade this year with Jalen McMillan that the way the universe works, Jalen McMillan will probably be pretty good.
Speaker 4Yeah.
Speaker 3But yeah, overall, I think the answer. So just looking back now after having done this and Brandon, are you please. But after having done this now, does it change anything about what we said in the beginning of a receiver strategy? Because I'm. I'm still at the point where I want a lot of those middle class guys and just throw darts and try to get lucky and get and hopefully, you know, a book or Christian Watson or one of those guys, you get the breakout ascending guy. But I, I want that middle class, but I don't feel like I need two receivers in the first three rounds or something. I don't feel that way at all.
Speaker 4I agree. I think like round four or five, six, you can go receiver, receiver, receiver and be fine. DK. Yeah, I agree with that. But also having Jamar Chase is awesome. So I might do that if he's sitting there.
Speaker 3If you can get the elite guys that are getting like, you know, that are just could truly lead the NFL in one of those categories are getting like a third of their offense, then yes. But other than them, I agree. It's not feels like.
Speaker 1Yeah. If you're going off of last year, this is just I didn't do the research on this. I'm just like going off the top of my head. But like, it feels like the best players to pick last year were guys like Jason, where you got him a little bit later. And he had this elite breakout Jason Pickens handful of other guys where no one was really expecting that much. And then. They just were absolutely just dominating. And there's fewer. I think we'll talk about it in the running backs, but I think after you get outside the top, however many running backs, it's like a hellscape.
Speaker 3But if every if every fantasy people seem to fantasy analyst seems to agree that this is the right strategy is the actual answer in a ten team league. If you have the tenth pick to get like, huh, CD lamb and Justin Jefferson are here, that's weird. And you take both of them and then while everyone else is taking all these receivers that you don't know the difference between, then you just keep taking running backs. Is that is that the zag for the year? It's like, I don't know why I got CD lamb and Justin Jefferson at the end of the first round.
Speaker 1Yeah, perhaps. And if if all the receivers stay healthy and the running backs get injured, that's the thing.
Speaker 3It's I think that is a key point that is worth keeping in mind is the receivers running back way more injured than running backs for two years in a row. It's been very unlikely. Yeah.
Speaker 4Yeah, we're getting like we're still getting like 16 games out of McCaffrey, 16 games out of Derrick Henry stuff that is Saquon Saquon. It's yeah. The levy might break.
Speaker 3Good point. OK, let's get to the real rankings here.
Speaker 4Yeah.
Speaker 3Fuck yeah. Our next installment of the hot quarterback rankings, baby.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3For those who don't know, we asked all seven of the women who listen to our show to rank the hot quarterbacks, hottest quarterbacks in the NFL. And they did rank them top 32, top 40, everything.
Speaker 1So hundreds of the seven sent in their spreadsheets. They sent in comments. They sent in, you know, editorial on on why they like. These guys, whatever. It's great.
Speaker 3So to remind you about some of the people did not make the list. The people who just missed the cut from all of this are like Jared Goff, Fernando Mendoza, Kirk Cousins, Drake May. They missed the cut. They're honorable mentions. But the people in the top 16, the players we've revealed so far, 16th was Jackson Dart, a.k.a. The NFL's hottest fuckboy. Dart. Number 15 was Tyler Shuck of the Saints. Wonder bread looking ass. Number 14 was Jaden Daniels. Highly underrated. Great hair. Great smile. Emanating aura. Skinny, though.
Speaker 1Very skinny.
Speaker 313 was Brock Purdy, who Craig ranked eighth and DK had 32nd.
Speaker 1I was being a little too...
Speaker 6Tenth, but yeah.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 430th is out of control. Out of control, but okay.
Speaker 1Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Craig. Wow. You know?
Speaker 4We're going to have to revisit that.
Speaker 3It's probably because he probably is fearing that there's a... DK, in theory, could have a son walking the earth that looks older than Brock Birdie.
Speaker 5Yeah.
Speaker 3So, with that said, are you guys prepared for the 12th hottest quarterback of the 2020 season? Can't wait.
Speaker 4Yeah, I'm very curious about if Trevor Lawrence exists somewhere in this list or not.
Speaker 6Well, that is a good question. What do you think?
Speaker 4Is he on this list or is he 27th? I don't know.
Speaker 3You think yes or no? I think no. I think yes. Ooh. Well, there's only one way to find out. Is this the pick?
Speaker 6Is he number 12? Do you think he is? Yeah, I do. I don't know. We just fucking answered. No, he's not. No, he's not. God damn it.
Speaker 3Bryce Young, quarterback for the Carolina Panthers. He's your 12th hottest quarterback for the 2026 season.
Speaker 1To me, he's the cutie patootie, not Brock.
Speaker 3Well, I think they're similar.
Speaker 4I think they're both kind of boyish cuties.
Speaker 3You know? It just so happens that the first comment I have here, which you guys have not seen. You guys don't know the rankings. I have not seen the emails. This is all a surprise. Yes. Among the comments that all seven of the women listening to this show sent in about Bryce Young, what a little cutie and a wittle, wittle boy. but so mean there was a real differentiation on people who knew how tall he was so someone said top three based on looks alone and i like the phrase unexpectedly dreamy look at he looks
Speaker 1good and it's like he's got the the monotone suit with shirt looks good yeah he's nice looking
Speaker 3and despite great smile someone said my wife put bryce young top three even though i showed him the photo of bryce young with the backpack and the mina kimes photo i was gonna say did you put
Speaker 1did you show the mina kimes photo because that one's kind of infamous so but i i a few of the
Speaker 3comments of bryce young cutie patootie for now but he has an amazing smile and could be aging like a fine wine his baby face will serve him well in his 30s and 40s yeah he's a good investment sure uh just don't let him wear a backpack i looks like he would cry if i was mean to him yeah uh this one everyone everyone acts like bryce young's tiny but in real life but 510 is pretty
Speaker 4good handsome i'm gonna say comparing him against other quarterbacks he's short the average man he's
Speaker 3the average height and so the other so this one i would this is just another example of how women just notice things that i do not this one bryce young very hot but needs to shave his chin cushion or just commit to a beard chin cushion he's got the chin cushion cam yeah pull it yeah he's got the chin cushion so this was a this was a big mark that i think held more so than the height what women were upset and why bryce young's not higher because i do think just the headshot he's very high on this list women kept bringing this up hot but marred by poor grooming decisions oh and then someone else summarized this very well bryce young excellent smile strong hairline great cheekbones kind disposition bryce young could so easily be in the objectively hot category if he didn't have one of my least favorite features on a man the inexplicable not quite a goatee just a puff of hair exclusively covering their chin why do men grow this why do they think it looks good it needs to connect to some other part of your facial hair or not a couple thoughts
Speaker 4couple thoughts uh one i will say i i understand that the chin situation complaints great mustache on bryce young he can rock a mustache yeah really good stash i wonder if the the chin hair protects from like chin pimple pimples on the chin from the chin strap chin strap and that's like a real thing is a nice buffer in between that can he not grow
Speaker 1the rest he gets sweaty looks like he's got stubble there it looks like he could grow it
Speaker 3yeah i won't tell you um where these people are ranked if they're on the rankings or not but this this was also a huge talking point with jordan love where people felt that jordan love they're like why does he just have this like weird yeah like just thing just shooting off his chin yeah
Speaker 4everyone wanted to know it's a good note for i had bryce young eighth on my list where did you guys
Speaker 1he was i had a top 10 11th for me yeah
Speaker 3high fits you had him 13 oh did i yeah i'm okay with that well it's the high as in 12 so yeah everyone else so we were pretty much matters to me that all these other guys are like 6 6 and he's 5 10 like i i docked him for that if everyone's equal height i actually think bryce young's very high on this list yeah yeah but i as i am 5 10 and being around men who's six foot five is incredibly intimidating from this perspective and so that i kept that in mind like he's my height and i know how i feel around six foot five guys speaking of which i need to remind people if you're tall if you're listening six foot five the funniest thing you can do at a party is tell other men you're six foot two because they start freaking out no way no you gotta be like six eight you're like no i'm six two so you're like i'm six six feet and you're like no you must be five nine and then they just flip so anyway all right uh number number 11 on the hot quarterback rankings hmm i just realized something about this grouping number 11 is drum roll matthew stafford quarterback for the los angeles rams wow i think i i don't know about this
Speaker 4craig doesn't like stafford he's not a stafford guy i i don't know he's he's 11 on this list he's 11th on his quarterback i think he's higher lower he's ruggedly handsome i think he should be lower
Speaker 3so it's the daddy energy it's the girl dad energy the daddy energy yeah it's the girl there you go girl dad energy good and also if you're listening put this on netflix right now girl dad let's be clear put us put us on netflix you can actually we have photos of these guys up and if you're listening on spotify we also have video you can pull up but if you're gonna put us on netflix it's for this stat so here are the comments that the seven women listening to the show made about stafford okay i couldn't believe how many people put this comment in stafford looks kind of like a handsome elon musk oh my god more than three people said that is that is that a compliment or don't know don't know that can't be good that to me doesn't sound good but okay uh i love this one i have heard that women like matt stafford but i could go to any gas station in my hometown and find a man who looks exactly like him okay which i maybe that's the appeal yeah but did they have 200 million dollars that's there you go so this out of every player we've had i was most shocked the majority of people i can't tell you how much women commented on matt stafford's teeth i mean he has veneers it's very clear but i'm saying too white more women mentioned his veneers than did not mention them like it was kind of all they're talking about in a complimentary way oh yeah let
Speaker 4me read you the comments well if this guy's 11th i need to hear why he's so hot i need to get the
Speaker 3comments to tell me why so the comments definitely eligible for daddy status but somehow still just a cute boy after all this time um stafford in his younger days definitely a no but he's aged well he has that salt and pepper
Speaker 1dilf thing going yeah yeah let's get the right look he's ruggedly handsome someone said stafford
Speaker 3looks like a country music star but not in a republican way oh that's really good he does kind of have blake shelton energy he does like yeah just i don't really yeah you you listen to him for 10 years and realize you don't know anything about him somehow the if he someone said if stafford wore a hat i would do it sober yeah i agree he looks much better in a hat than
Speaker 4a hat uh one of the like the backwards cap yes that that backwards cap is the best look for him that's you got a good chin and he's got the big teeth so when the hat's on it's working the big
Speaker 3teeth i can't say chompers well so literally someone said mega chompers someone said would be higher without the veneers yeah what does old teeth look like yeah yeah you don't want to know
Speaker 6i'm looking at it where do his old teeth go i have no idea horses probably normal
Speaker 3uh yeah it's good that he got these yeah so natalie from i want to shout out natalie from chicago yeah send the pic natalie from chicago wrote stafford full head of salt and pepper hair stubble girl that energy cannot distract from the fact that he's some of the most egregious veneers i've ever seen famous people please stop messing with your mouth i beg you i couldn't
Speaker 1believe how many women brought this up stafford stafford is aging in the same way that tom brady aged where you look at pictures of brady when he's young he's like baby fat kind of like yeah he probably drinks too much or whatever and and then now brady looks like a fucking male model i think yeah i think stafford he's like way better looking now than he was like i agree with that i
Speaker 4mean you look at year one stafford and he looks like the funny guy in the frat yeah and now it's like he figured out the facial hair situation perfectly he's got a great kind of stubbly beard good chin looks great in a hat and i just did the teeth and the hair like look him right there with the beanie looks great but i i think just like on the street no hat i don't know he's 11 feels high
Speaker 1but okay i thought that was high it's it's the i haven't even hired i've got him i've got him pretty high i've got him how high do you weigh him down i'm seven seven oh my god i'm handsome i'm 21st i know wow that's that's crazy the middle the middle class of quarterbacks of this list are
Speaker 3not great all right who's 10 who's 10 the 10th hottest quarterback entering the nfl season baker mayfield for the tampa bay buccaneers see see This guy's all fucking aura. It's all aura. It's all energy. It's all behavior-based.
Speaker 1You know, we talked about anchoring last episode, where if you see the wrong picture of Baker Mayfield the first time, it's fucking over. But if you see him in a good picture, to me, there's no quarterback in the NFL that has a wider range of what he looks like in any given photo.
Speaker 4Also, you want to talk about great beard? Like, really figured out the beard game.
Speaker 1Yeah, he's got good beard. But yeah, you're right. The aura thing, Craig.
Speaker 4It's all vibes and aura. He's top 10 for me just because he's fucking cool, and you feel that.
Speaker 3That really is the answer, what it comes down to. Literally, the answer is basically a range of seems like he'd be a great hang or a great date or a great night, is basically the...
Speaker 6Like, I want to go out and hang out on his boat.
Speaker 3Yeah. That's so weird. Someone did say that, actually. He checks the box. Does he want to hang out on his boat?
Speaker 4Guys want to hang out with him, and girls want to go on a date with him. Like, I feel like he has that energy where he satisfies both.
Speaker 3So, on that note, I want to shout out Maddie, who I believe was the only or at least the first. We did have hundreds of these. Maddie, I believe, was the only one. She had Baker Mayfield first. Wow. And Maddie said... Is this his actual wife? Maddie said, Baker's the hottest quarterback. There's the physical. He has great thighs. Thighs? An overall kind of ruggedness. I like Baker's Tony Soprano-inspired shirts. To me, Baker has this intangible that really sets him apart. Baker Mayfield is the guy you dated in college that was charismatic, but would every once in a while end up with a drunk tank. Yeah. I don't know if that's toxic for me, but I love it.
Speaker 1See, Baker Mayfield, you know how there's, like, the comedian that spawned a thousand, whatever, like, frauds? Well, HiFence, what's the expression you always say?
Speaker 3Oh, that one great comedian inspires 10,000 bad comedians.
Speaker 1Yeah. To me, this is like, we are actually giving people bad advice by telling you that Baker Mayfield is hot because so many people are going to try and emulate what Baker Mayfield's, like, thing,
Speaker 6but you just can't fake the aura and confidence
Speaker 1and swagger that he has. It's who he is.
Speaker 4Like, to me, he's the guy that, like, in the fraternity in college where they're all douches, Baker's the one that's, like, secretly nice when you sit next to him in class.
Speaker 3Someone said, short king, but great smile, and I feel like he'd ask me a lot of questions on our first date.
Speaker 1Where did we have Baker?
Speaker 3And even then, short king, what is he, like, six feet? Yeah, he's six feet. Yeah, five, yeah, you know, fake six feet.
Speaker 1We didn't, we had Baker eighth. Yeah. All right.
Speaker 3So, one woman put Baker 20th with a hat and then 25th without a hat. Okay. Which I thought was so funny. The other one, I, dude, someone wrote, Baker Mayfield, bad boy, has lived a little, gives a Jesse Pinkman douchebag boyfriend kind of vibe. Has lived a little. And then she wrote, Baker should get tattoos.
Speaker 4Like, Baker could wear, like, you know, like the guys used to tuck the cigarettes, inside their sleeve. Yeah. Like, Baker could get away with that. He has, like, the greaser energy. He should have that with a tribal tattoo.
Speaker 1He's got, like, the, all right, all right, all right.
Speaker 4Yeah, he could have been in Dazed and Confused. He could have been in The Outsiders. He's, I would say, like, traditionally, he's not, like, the hottest guy in the world, but everything else around him works.
Speaker 3And then also, I think that he has this devoted husband-father thing going on. Like, he's, like, you know, he's kind of, like, he's the reformed, I can fix him, like, he got, you know, he's, like, grown up.
Speaker 6Once again, the comedian that spawned a thousand bad comedians.
Speaker 3Now, I want you to look at this photo, and I want to read this comment to you, because there's one comment about Baker that just broke me. I don't know why this hit me so hard, but it says, Baker Mayfield looks like he's from Boston. Okay. And I don't know why. Where is he from? Baker is from Texas, Austin, Texas. Every quarterback, I believe literally a quarter of all quarterbacks are from Texas. I like that Baker. Mahomes from Dallas, Stafford's from Austin or Dallas. Like, they're all from, Kyler's from Texas. They're all from the same four-hour circle in Texas.
Speaker 1Baker Mayfield, you know who he kind of looks like is, and I don't know the name of the actor, he's the guy who's in the Avengers. He's, like, the Winter Soldier. Oh, Bucky? Yeah, Bucky.
Speaker 4Oh, you're talking about Sebastian Stan?
Speaker 1Yes, he kind of looks like that guy.
Speaker 4Yeah, I see that.
Speaker 1Anyway, he, to me, is, the fact that he was, like, playing scout team defensive end for the Panthers at one point. Safety, but yeah. Whatever. He was playing defense on the scout team. I think he looks good.
Speaker 4He looks better with longer hair. I feel like a bigger beard, more hair on him works. He also looks, it works with the headband specifically, not even just the hat. I feel like the headband plays with Baker.
Speaker 3It is weird he doesn't have tattoos. In my mind's eye, Baker has tattoos.
Speaker 1He's got a lot of shit on his head complimentary. Right, you like that. You love that, yeah. All right, you guys ready for number? It's not shit on your head performative. It's shit on your head that's actually useful. That's true.
Speaker 3Are you guys ready for number nine? We're single digits now. The ninth hottest quarterback in the NFL season. Are you ready? Say Trevor Lawrence. Don't. Completing our run of four consecutive number one draft picks at quarterback. It is Caleb Williams. Oh, okay. For the Bears. Four straight number one quarterbacks. Caleb Williams, ninth hottest quarterback. So we got him in this range. We have him 11th. The consensus with Caleb is basically incredible skincare routine, very secure in his masculinity, great for structure.
Speaker 4Sure. I think that's all very fair. He has a kind of a Gen Z quality to him. A devil may care. Not afraid to wear a dress, you know? He has a Harry Styles freeness to him. Right, right. That works and is rare in an athlete.
Speaker 1Not everyone can get away with that, you know?
Speaker 3No. He owns it. Which I thought, someone summarized really well with the only comment on Caleb Williams being
Speaker 5mmm, mmm, mmm.
Speaker 3Scrumptious. That one killed me. Oh my God. Someone just said, I know that Caleb Williams smells amazing. I know it.
Speaker 4Yeah, that's probably true. That's really funny. Yeah. Is he putting on cologne before the game? So funny. That's just polite, Craig. Yeah. I do think, I think when he has shorter hair, tighter beard looks good.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 4Sometimes the beard can get unruly, you know? And that only works for a certain type. I feel like when he keeps that beard kind of manicured, looks good.
Speaker 1I kind of, I think he has a somewhat similar vibe to Baker Mayfield, where it's like the devil may care, like fuck you, I am who I am. He's comfortable.
Speaker 4Yeah. In his own skin.
Speaker 3Right. Or as someone summed it up really well, Caleb Williams, way more hot now that the bears are pretty good. Well, you know what? Turns out winning matters.
Speaker 4Now it's kind of working. That's, so what we're learning a little bit here is that aura plays.
Speaker 3Big time. Aura plays. Yeah, it is. It's your vibe attracts your tribe. I think that is what we're learning.
Speaker 4Yeah. I mean, Baker and Caleb are nice looking. Guys, but also the, the aura and the comfortability they have within themselves. They feel like elevates them.
Speaker 3Yeah. So any, any, so Caleb Williams, Baker Mayfield, Matt Stafford and Bryce Young, that's nine, 10, 11, 12. It is four consecutive number one picks. Not that that matters. I, well, it kind of does matter.
Speaker 4You know, like the idea that they're hot, the number one pick in the draft. It is interesting. I kind of want to go back and just look at every quarterback class and just rank them by hotness and see how often, the number of the first quarterback taken was also the hottest quarterback.
Speaker 3So did I tell you guys that some, oh, wait, someone emailed in this theory. I'm so I'll pull up the whole. Oh yes. I found it. Okay. This is from Matt. Oh, I didn't read this to you guys. This is perfect. M bone. Matt wrote an email. I don't eat breakfast because I'm not in grade school. That's fuck you, Matt. All right. Damn.
Speaker 4That's actually a great answer. Kind of respect, but yeah, so funny. What about when you're on vacation? You got to eat breakfast on vacations. The best breakfast vacation for fun breakfast for fun breakfast on vacation to me is great because you're just like beach vacation. He's drinking. Whatever. Like if you're in the woods, if you're in the snow, like waking up, like I feel like when I'm in a hotel, I'm like calories don't count. I'm having pancakes, bacon, eggs.
Speaker 3It's great. Yeah. I'll yeah. Do you guys, you know what? Jackie needs something to eat for breakfast. She doesn't know what breakfast the, if the women listening, if the seven want to email in breakfast,
Speaker 4what is she kind of like? What is she looking to accomplish? It's, you know, it's,
Speaker 3it's tough because she doesn't love, doesn't love breakfast. I love yogurt, you know, granola. It's like a whole thing.
Speaker 4Does she want to start healthy or she just like, I just want something good.
Speaker 3We prefer, and she's not into eggs right now.
Speaker 1Oh, I was going to say, cause Skippy makes a egg in a basket, which is just a, a, a piece of bread on the skillet with a hole in the middle. Oh yeah. Drop the egg in and then you can pop the egg and like the yoke was all over the bread.
Speaker 4So she's not like a, like, like a Greek yogurt with some fruit and honey.
Speaker 3We can, but that requires like always having good fruit and yogurt every morning. And then we don't, when we morning, so we don't have that. It's just like, if we don't have the fresh fruit, it's, it's, we don't know.
Speaker 4What about like bowl of healthy, healthy cereal with banana? What is a healthy cereal? Well, healthier cereal. I would say still can't really, I said, earnest question. I grape nuts, healthier cereal that doesn't taste good. And you have to add fruit to make it taste good. Okay. Got it. Grape nuts is so funny.
Speaker 1I haven't had a grape nut since I was like in grade school.
Speaker 4Like I eat, I like cereal just because I like eating cereal more than I I need it to taste good, which I don't know if that makes any sense. Like I buy like, forget what even the brand is called it's called like nature's path whatever and i basically buy just like it's like corn flakes that have no flavor and they're just crunchy dump sugar on that shit trail mix that i'm picking around to eat m&ms yeah it's just crunchy and then i add like banana or blueberries or whatever and milk and i just like eating it it's fun to eat it's
Speaker 1like popcorn i like eating it you do love popcorn you're big pop craig by the way calvin is obsessed with popcorn he drank like a whole bag of popcorn this weekend it's great i might get into pop i think you started that by the way you got him into it craig wow oh yeah we had popcorn we shared popcorn on that ferry in washington you like you you're the one who started his uh it's like uh the first one's free but now you got him hooked well i gotta get you a i gotta get you a whirly
Speaker 3pop to make popcorn at home well i that's i mean calvin also started smoking cigarettes and ripping tequila that was that was my influence so yeah yeah craig's not the only bad influences so anyway
Speaker 4so matt's email i got him a log into brazzers has he used that yet
Speaker 6right
Speaker 4no not yet it's on his little tablet as we were eating popcorn i gave him a login in a lifetime fucking log i said i whispered you'll thank me later
Speaker 3you gave him a gift card to pay for it so it's not tied to anything i had a friend who will not name in high school that would like take all these gift cards he got from his grandparents and use porn like pay use the gift cards because then his parents wouldn't find out wow
Speaker 1it's like it's like having a burner phone yeah it was burner money what were the gift cards earmarked
Speaker 3for though it was like an american express gift card oh oh yeah like a visa american express his grandparents had given him and he would just he was just like that's hilarious i wonder if that
Speaker 6goes back to the first person who buys you the gift card that'd be funny and then you haven't
Speaker 3checked the money on an amex you don't it'll get to try it's like 2010 they're not tracking that
Speaker 4down it's like dudes back in the day on like a work trip would stay in a hotel and like pay for the hbo for the night tv yeah so you could get like skinamax or whatever the fuck they were showing it's like on the bill no no no i was doing it to watch boxing
Speaker 3all right anyway matt's email yeah do you even care anymore yeah hit me hit me okay he said since we have started ranking hot quarterbacks i wanted to hit you guys with a long-running theory i have about brothers in sports the more handsome brother is almost always the better athlete interesting and this is not groundbreaking it makes sense i think they got more girls in high school they were more popular what's truly done founding is that this basically bats about 97 and he says let's look at some examples the better looking brother is the better athlete blake griffin over taylor griffin set steph curry is better than seth seth curry cory seager is better looking than kyle seager yadier is by far the best looking of the molinas clay way better than michael thompson is that his brother no his brother is uh i don't know i don't know i don't know
Speaker 4michael thompson's his dad clay's brother's trace i think he has two brothers though trace and oh yeah trace and michael i think it's michael jr oh michael oh is he really wait
Speaker 3trace thompson's a baseball player yeah he played for the dodgers for a little bit clay thompson's brother played baseball i don't know rob gronkowski's the best looking of the gronks drew is the best looking holiday i didn't know any brother michael is better than jonte porter that's true stefan digs better looking than trayvon that's true justin upton's better true aaron is better looking than austin nola chris long is better looking than kyle long it's definitely true i'm sorry to kyle long and then shannon sharp's better looking than sterling sharp and he says i'd venture to say peyton's better looking than eli but that's that's that's kind of a hard one hey uh and then you can notable exceptions derrick carr versus david car but we'll but david car even you know injuries really the exception that proves the rule i do
Speaker 4there might be something to this i would say brooke lopez is better looking than robin lopez
Speaker 1definitely this all just kind of goes away i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know it comes down to the old eight old age old adage look good feel good play good but is it that or is
Speaker 3it that the better athlete makes more money and then pays to have superior plastic surgery and
Speaker 1skincare routines what about the watt brothers jj watt is pretty good looking i don't know would he is he better than tj derrick definitely the third best brother and the third best looking
Speaker 4that's fair i think tj watt is the best looking watt okay
Speaker 3that is that might be true i think it is derrick and tj or sorry i mean it's um jj is got the initials tj watts better looking than jj but they're both like really good they're both very good yeah
Speaker 1um trevor lawrence has an older brother named chase lawrence really is kind of like uh it's like a hippie vibes to him i don't know wow chase lawrence did he play football i feel like they
Speaker 4both have to be athletes
Speaker 1uh oh my god no and he's quite a bit shorter oh interesting i'm fascinated by the whole trevor
Speaker 4lawrence thing i think that's the big question that's the most unanswerable question of this ranking is what it does trevor lawrence make it in the top eight or is he like 25th i think he i

Speaker 3for sure curran in fact skateboards i was thinking about skateboarding the other day because tony hawk has this great bit on instagram where apparently tony hawk might be the most famous person in the world is not recognized or like if you fame to like tony hawk says every time he goes through it um tsa you know when you have to give them your license either at the gate agent whatever they see the name and tony hawk is always like there was like anthony hawk you're like man it's like tony hawk i wonder what that guy's up to and they just hand him the id back and he's always like yeah he's right here and this happens to him every time he flies we need to come up with a list
Speaker 4of the of the the very famous people who have incredible names that fit what they do and it's
Speaker 3not a fake name yeah nominative determinants yeah it's true it's like it would be a stage name for skateboarder you'd be like tony hawk is you can't do better than that stage name like
Speaker 4tiger woods yes tiger woods is a great one that's like probably number one but like vin diesel not his name like tom cruise that's not his name that's so true like we grew up in a name error tony hawk and tiger woods were dominating i'm like like megan fox is her actual name is that right that's just like what how you
Speaker 3can't beat that no way yeah send us examples this is good at people who yeah like bruce willis is what was his real name walter something uh bruce willis yeah his name's not bruce it's walter oh it's walter bruce walter bruce walter bruce but you're right his real name is like tony hawk tiger woods walt willis walt willis kind of would play yeah sure um i think breaking bad helped walter come back i don't know what walter was doing
Speaker 4before as a name yeah but like tony hawk being his name yeah it's crazy tiger woods as the best
Speaker 1golfer ever is crazy tony hawk did a great job too of like marketing his his name as one of he started a skateboard brand i think it was birdhouse and that went really big and i was
Speaker 3just obviously like a play on his name i do have to say a lot of people are probably screaming
Speaker 4that tiger woods his name is not tiger it's l no i know it's eldrick but but he was always tiger as a kid wasn't he yeah i do believe they called that his whole life so that counts
Speaker 1like if he wasn't like he didn't name himself that when he got famous yeah right yeah he didn't like when he got into sag or whatever change his name okay so email us if you have other
Speaker 3examples of this just perfect name people oh that's a good one wayne gretzky Thank you.
Speaker 4because it can't there are a lot of people whose name now sounds good like michael jordan is a perfectly nice name but it's because he's michael jordan that it almost sounds cooler than it
Speaker 1that's like it reminds me and uh i can't remember which one it is one of the back to the future movies where they go the old west michael j fox uses the name clint eastwood when he's in the old west and they're all like clint eastwood that's a fucking terrible name oh that's the third one right i haven't seen i think so yeah yeah and i just remember thinking that was so funny because it is so true it's like clint eastwood is so iconic as like for all the westerns and dirty harry yeah clint eastwood that's a stupid name

Speaker 3video of him doing the backing tracks for the bow right yes yes bow bow bow bow bow and actually
Speaker 4once you know that once you think about it you can't unhear the bows in the song it like yeah
Speaker 3it's like battle but every ad lib in a rap song is so much less cool when you think about them just having to do that though like lil wayne's probably just blowing smoke into the thing for
Speaker 6like an hour and you're like yeah it's not as that's one of the lines of this song is i had to i had to beat my dick since 1996
Speaker 1ah so good okay this is a great one because i actually didn't realize it was that old 2010 yeah that also surprises me yeah i feel like it's still going people are still listening to
Speaker 4this dude like 08 to 2011 was just so it's funny sometimes when you get to when you get to were you in college at that time
Speaker 3no i was in high school oh high school okay uh sometimes when i play music at a part if you ever end up playing music or djing at a party like i feel like sometimes i'll go to spotify and i'll type in um songs that uh white people like yeah and it's pretty it's pretty incredibly consistent there's songs that white women like and i'll just like put that on and the first one usually is no hands oh really but it is very consistently the first song that comes up oh that's interesting
Speaker 4uh i like that they say um all i want to do is sit back and watch you move and i'll proceed to throw this cash i've always liked the formality of that line and i'll proceed to throw this cash
Speaker 3collecting receiving yards yeah you proceed to throw cash that was our video with the gun in the strip club all i could look at was the fucking how much money

Podcast Summary

Key Points:

  1. The 2025 season was historically bad for wide receiver fantasy output, with the fewest receiving yards since 2003 and lowest target share since 2017, partly due to increased two-tight-end sets and more running.
  2. The hosts identify Jamar Chase, JSN, and Puka Nacua as the top tier of receivers, followed by a second tier including CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and AJ Brown.
  3. Emeka Ibuka is highlighted as a potential breakout star due to his new Cooper Kupp-style role in Tampa Bay's offense and impressive early-career production despite injury.
  4. The middle tiers of wide receivers are unusually flat and deep this year, with many players having similar profiles, making it harder to differentiate between third-round and sixth-round options.
  5. Several bounce-back candidates are discussed, including Devonta Smith (now the Eagles' number one receiver), Christian Watson (impressive ACL recovery), and Brian Thomas (miscast and injured last season).
