In this episode of the Snail Trail 4x4 Podcast, hosts Tyler and Jimmy kick off with casual banter about a WD-40 coffee mug, highlighting their love for automotive-themed gear and past giveaways. They then transition to announcing a giveaway for a Wolfbox G900 Tripro dash camera, sponsored by Wolfbox. Listeners can enter by signing up on iRate4x4 or the Discord server. The hosts also promote a review incentive program on Apple Podcasts, where leaving a review enters participants into giveaways at 800, 850, and 900 reviews, with prizes including an onX Elite membership and a $900+ package from More Fleet. Additionally, a token hunt is underway, where 13 tokens are hidden across the U.S. (mostly in California) on the onX Offroad app, with a GearWrench tool set as the prize; future prizes are also planned. The main guest, Austin Vogel, introduces himself as a registered nurse and YouTube creator who has partnered with Wolfbox for about 3.5 years, starting with the G900 dash cam. He shares his history with Jeeps, beginning with a 1993 YJ as his first vehicle, which he later modified with a Chevy 350 V8 swap at age 20. The discussion sets the stage for deeper insights into Wolfbox products and Austin’s experiences.
[MUSIC] Welcome, one, welcome, all! To the snail trail, 4x4 podcast. If you like going off-roading in Toyota's wrenching on Toyota's camping in Toyota, maybe even putting a little bit of fun at Toyota's. And of course, hearing about how fantastic review cameras are in Toyota's, then this is the podcast for you. That's right, ladies and gentlemen, my name's Tyler, and this guy over here joining me today on the snail trail 4x4 podcast and every day almost, is Mr. Jimmy Jett, how you doing buddy? Good, thank you, how are you? Doing pretty good. Awesome. Yeah, good here. Yep, I'm finally awake. Yeah, that's good. Coffee finally hit. Finally, you can hit me, yep. Yep. That's it. Took you long enough. It's like three o'clock in the afternoon. Yeah, finished my coffee, let's see three for seven hours ago. Somewhere on there. So, oh, that's not true, I might have a little lift. He's looking in his WD40s and. Oh, I do, that's not true. and he's looking in his WD40s and. I finished my coffee and then I dumped some Hortchata in it from lunch. Yum. And, yeah, so now I finished my Hortchata coffee mix. Can I take a second and say how much I appreciate this? Okay. The WD40 coffee mug? Yeah, I love it. Everywhere I go, that is like people who are car people. And I always know. And it's one of the ways I've started testing. Oh. So, like, if I have to go into somewhere and I'm like, people here should be car people. Yeah. I'll try and bring this with me and have coffee and drink out of it. And people give me. The people who are. We're car people, they look at me weird. Yeah. They're like, "Wait a minute. Are you drinking WD40?" Yeah. And then I get to explain to them that, "No, it's a WD40 coffee mug." Coffee cup. Yeah. I think thermos. I don't know why you want to call it. Whatever they call it. But yeah, I love this thing. Yeah, good. I'm glad you re-found it. I forgot all about it there for a while. It was in the back of my little coffee mug cabinet underneath the coffee maker. And I was like, "Oh, I need to bring that back out." Yeah. And I'm using it like every day now. I would use mine more, but I think I want to get a like a sea level lid for it. That's my only gripe. It's sometimes I want. Yeah, this is what it isn't. Super seal. It'll stop splashes, but yeah. But if the mouth, the inlet or outlet is always open, right? It doesn't have a seal. It closes. Oh, well, that maybe mines different. Well, you got the loser one. Yeah, yes. So, yeah, but these were for wheeling wine in a whiskey's hundredth episode. Something like that was early on, yeah. I think it was more than their one year. I think it was their hundredth episode when we were all on. And I bought gifts for everybody. Yeah. For the most part, and I bought you the WD 41. I bought me the PB Blaster one. I bought Chris the coming's oil filter. Yep. Look in one. And I forgot what I got Jason. I don't remember what it was. But it was something. Something Dodge. Oh, no, something Jeep, I think. So yeah, they're fun. Definitely fun to walk around with. I like the, I've always liked the PB Blaster smell. I think they should make a cologne like that. But it's fun. Yeah, to see what see people double taking the new drinking that thing in your drinking out of a, a common oil filter. Yeah, hold on. Yeah, we're like an aerosol can looking thing. Yep. Yeah. So you're welcome. Thank you. Yeah. These are cool. But I love giving gifts. That's true. Just like I love giving away a Wolf Box. G 900 try pro. The lip and spill. The, I told you the lady. I got napkins here. Well, we got napkins. That one will be yours. We'll give this one away. That's a nice coffee scent to it. Yeah, right. I have the WD scent, I think. Regardless, we've got a G 900 try pro to give away this month. Big thank you to Wolf Box. Big thank you to everybody involved over there. And to get entered for that. And you'll hear a lot about it in today's episode. So I'm not going to dive into it. But to get entered into the giveaway, you can either go over to iRate4x4, log on and sign in underneath. Well, you got the sign in, then go down to the snail trail, four by four form. And then your sign up options are there. Make sure you choose the gift box tier. Or you can go over to our disappointer. Give away tier. Geez. Thank you. I need more coffee, apparently. Give away tier or you can go over to the discord. And you can, all the signups there are right there and to one of those top threads. Yeah. Yep. So, yeah, two different ways to get entered now for the month of giveaways, for the gift box tier once we open those up for the bias coffee tier, any kind of that stuff. So check those out. And then you'll get to hear a lot more about stuff Wolf Box is doing here in a little bit on the show. So let's see. We also have reviews, giveaways for reviews. So we bribe you guys to leave us a review so that it helps the podcasting algorithms out there feed us to more people. Hey, Katie, we end up in more people's mouths. Years. Years. Sorry, I meant ears. That's what I meant. Earholes. That's definitely what I meant. It's about the only whole Tyler fits in. Hey, that could have hurt. But a little fair and true. So, yeah, we got reviews out there. So just go leave us a review on Apple podcasts. Last we checked, we were at 795 reviews. So we're getting really damn close to that 800. There's only a few slots left. And so you got to go and sign up or leave us a review to get entered for one of those spots. The cool thing about that though is once you're signed up once your leave a review once, you're already signed up for all the future giveaways we do based on reviews. So we're doing a giveaway at 800, which is an on-ex elite membership and a swag pack from Jimmy and I and some vendors we've worked with throughout the years. We're doing that again at 850 reviews. So if you sign up now, you get in for both reviews. If you leave a review, I'm way got too much coffee in my system. If you leave a review now, you automatically sign up for both giveaways, right? The 100, 850. And then at 900 reviews, we're doing a big giveaway with more fleet. That's going to be at least $900 for 900 reviews. And that one I'm really excited about. We're getting really close to launching some really cool products at more fleet. It's going to be really nice and fun to put together a whole price package for a winner with all those products. That's going on for reviews. You just need to leave a review to get entered for those and you're automatically entered. All the times in the future and we do reviews giveaways now. So go do it. No, dilly dally, dilly dally, dilly dally. That's what I'm looking for. Too much coffee. Way too much coffee anymore. Yeah, there you go. So last little things here, big congratulations to Liz Sandstrom. I think that's how you say your last name. Congratulations on winning the iceco APL20 from the last month's giveaway. That's a big one. If we haven't heard from you yet, and we need to get in contact with you. Let's see, the only other thing on my list is tokens. Token's are out in the wild. They are out there. You need to go find tokens, spell out snail trail four by four with the all 13 tokens that you can find. And you can win a master mechanics tool set from gear wrench to find or to how to find where the tokens are hidden. You need to go on to the discord and go over there to the token section. And then you download or you click on the link that will let you give you access to the folder on an on X off road. And that will show you where all the tokens are hidden throughout the United States. Yep. Sorry for you, East Coaster, the majority of them are in California. But we're working with other people to try to get these tokens hidden in your states out there. So yeah. Cool. I'm looking forward to having more tokens out there. And I'm really interested to see who's going to win the master mechanics tool set. Me too. Trevor only needs about two more letters. Three last I heard it was two. Two. But I do know that there are some people out there collecting them. So we've had some people showing us that they've recently found some more tokens. So I think Trevor is going to have a battle ahead of them. Good. Yeah. That's what I want to see. Yeah, me too. And the thing is once we're done with the gear wrench tools, we have another thing already lined up. Mm-hmm. That is going to be next. So if you're two tokens behind and Trevor, you know, wins it or somebody else wins it and Trevor, you still have two to go. You only have two to go to win the next item. Yeah. Exactly. So it's two years just because Trevor is almost there. Don't give up because you will just be that much closer to the next item once it's released once we talk about it. Yep. So just this is one of our ways to just try to get people out and explore. Or go try somewhere new, go camping somewhere new, go on a new hike. Whatever it is, we just want you to explore this world that we absolutely love. Yep. I agree. So that's tokens. Yep. Anything else? I think so. We did FNGs, birthdays and everything while on Thursdays episode. We accidentally covered June and July. So everybody got birthdays this month that seems like or this last episode. And so if you want to go here with that stuff, make sure to go check out that. We had some good F five new FNGs this month. So that's awesome. Yeah. And then the winner. So I think we're good. I think we can jump over to our main chat. Sounds good. Then we'll take quick break. back with Austin Vogel who does not work for Wolfbox but he's been very involved
with Wolf Box over the years. You're hearing a little, you'll get to learn a little bit about a story and a lot about use case scenarios with Wolf Box products and how they've kind of impacted his life and his off-roading adventures and how that can translate to maybe some of you guys out there. So grab a drink, grab some refill on your WD 40 and we'll be right on back with Austin, JKU 392 Adventures. At 4 wheel underground we have something for everyone's 79-04 Toyota vehicle. All right, well come back everybody to today's campfire discussion. We're here around on this lovely Monday. Around a proverbial campfire brought to us by ones and zeros and data and and bits online through the internet and inner webs. But we're here today with a kind of fun dude that we just kind of start getting to know. Got to look at a bunch of his content recently though and see the kind of things he's been up to. But we have Austin Vogel here on the internet studio and he's going to be talking with us a little bit today about a little bit of everything but a little bit about what's going on with Wolfbox and stuff. So Austin, how the hell are you man? I am great. How are you guys doing? Thanks for asking and thanks for having me on the show. It's a beautiful day out and happy to be here. Yeah for sure. Are you guys nice and toasty and sizzling like bacon yet down there in Arizona? 112 degrees it's supposed to be today. Oh my God. Yes. But it's like everyone says it's a dry heat. Yeah. It's a dry. I don't care what kind of heat it is. That's not happening for me. This guy melts it like 90 degrees. Yes. Yes. It's like a wicked witch that gets water on them when it's 90 degrees outside. Yeah, I think I think it got me low 100 degrees yesterday at like midnight. So oh my God. Yeah. So you guys just have the air conditioning going constantly. Constantly. Yeah. Literally. I think it got out. That's where all the power in the country is going down but Arizona. I wonder how they roll in black out today. I think it was 91 up here the other day. It's been yeah anywhere between 90 and 100 and just and kind of in that range fluctuating over the past couple weeks. Yeah. It's you know it's surprising. It's actually been a mild mild summer so far. That's mild 112. It was a couple days ago. It was only like 106 or seven. It was nice. It's just great. It's just doors off the Jeep. And all reality it's been mild up here though too. Yeah. It's been actually nice. It's been rough. That's where it's been. True. Yeah. They deserve it. Yeah. They need it. Screw those guys. Yeah. That's funny. He's got to eat socks man. You just walk outside and your fingers start sweating. You're like I've never had that happen before. Yeah. You're just stoked before you know it exactly. You take a shower to cool off and then you step out and you're still just as wet as you're in the shower. Yeah. You can try. Yeah. It's brutal. Well thanks for joining us Austin. Yeah. It's good to have you here. Why don't you give us a little background? Give us like an elevator pitch of who you are and why you're working with Wolfbox. Yeah. Well my name again is Austin. My outside of influencer, I'm a registered nurse so do that as my day job. On top of that I have a YouTube channel that I've been doing a lot of DIY videos, a lot of stuff on my Jeep, stuff on my BMW and just promoting different products and actually Wolfbox is one of my like first major products that I promoted on my Jeep, on my channel. Same Instagram channel I promote a lot of different products but Wolfbox is probably my main company that I work with and that I've worked with for the longest continuous amount of time. How long ago was that first install? I think it was early of 2023. It's spent three and a half, about three and a half years that I worked with them. Yeah. Wolfbox to my recollection hasn't really been on the scene over here in the states for very long. I would probably for maybe five years if they've been around. That's when I first noticed that. My Instagram channel doesn't have that many followers but when I first started talking with Wolfbox to Instagram I think they had 600 followers. Okay. On Instagram. Yeah. So I was, I would say I was close to one of the first influencers. There was one other guy that I saw that we had the G900 and I feel like I was probably the second one. I mean that's on my own view point but Is that guy still around with Wolfbox? I never really followed him separately. Okay. So I'm not too positive on that. So we'll just claim that you are the longest influencer for Wolfbox. That's it. We'll make that claim here for you. Okay. Perfect. I'll claim it to I own it. Yeah. We're gonna have guys say no, it was me. Yeah. We'll start a fungus continuous. There we go. We're long. It's continuous. Yes. Yeah. Excellent. Cool. So did you start off with the G900 as well? I did. Yep. I did start off with them. They wanted me to promote one of their products and I said, Hey, I really, I want the best of the best in my Jeep and the G900 at that time was literally the best dash cam with the mere replacement that you could get that I've seen on the market. And I mean, still to this day, I would make that claim that they have the best dash cams with the replaceable mirrors. Yeah, I got the G900. It was my first dash cam that I've had with them. I've had a lot of different versions of the dash cams just from testing them out. And yeah, but that was the first one that had. So right now they're at the G900 Tripro, which is the three camera system. So did you have like the original, what's it? A singular camera system just a review. That was it. Yes. So the original G900 had the camera on the actual mirror facing forward and then it had the one that you would mount out of the rear of the vehicle. You can go through the glass or you can mount it on the outside of the vehicle and that becomes essentially your new rear view mirror. Okay. So that's that's the feed that you see is a camera literally on your back of your vehicle. Okay. Right. Yeah. And that's been kind of the same setup as far as the dash cams are for for more fox that like a replacement mirror. They always have a camera that you put on the back of your vehicle. Yeah. What kind of technologies was in that first version versus the G900 Tripro that we have for the giveaway this month? As far as technology, I'm not sure the exact specifics. I do know that for instance the camera lenses and everything they're always looking to improve and they essentially they're not like they don't go and say, Hey, we've got this exact camera lens with this name or this brand they just they go and they figure out which one's going to perform best. So they don't actually advertise like, Hey, this is the well, they they have different documentation but they don't say, Hey, we've got this camera purposely because it's the best they they specifically say, Hey, we chose the best camera lens that's going to give the best night time vision. Just the best overall quality. Okay. So as far as like the technology, I'm not too specific on that end, but okay, I'm just kind of curious like how often are they upgrading the technologies in the G900 to continue making them better? Because I know, you know, from running my own business that R and D and the time it takes to upgrade product and to make it better is pretty lengthy. And I feel like they're they're really good at implementing new technologies, adding some from the little really nice feature to the product to upgrade it and make it even better on pretty quick time schedules. Yeah, no, they definitely do. And like, for instance, the like to speak to that, the G900 Tripro when it first launched, it originally had it so you could see three screens all at the same time. And a lot of feedback from customers were, Hey, those are two small of views. So they actually uploaded a firmware that made it two big views and you can select which camera you want where you want it. So even if it's not changing the technology, they're able to upgrade firmware. They've got all the firmware's on their website. So you have to actually download it to SD card. There's no Wi-Fi like quick update that way. Just so there's no loss of connection or anything. And then that's more than I didn't even think about upgrading a firmware through an SD card, downloading a new firmware off the website or say, could you like also backdate firmware too? Say
I really want those three screens on my screen. Yeah, they do. Yeah, they have all their firmware is listed. Okay. That's cool. Yeah. Nice. All right. Well, let's jump back. We got a lot of Wolfbox to talk about. But I think we want to learn a little bit more about you, Austin. So it sounds like you have a Jeep. Have you always had jeeps like did you grow up with jeeps? Where did you grow up? How about let's start the story at the beginning? Yeah, absolutely. Grow up in Ohio. And my first vehicle was actually a Jeep Wrangler. It was a 1993 YJ. I was literally 14 and nine months. I think we were able to drive there with our parents. Driving that around a manual 5-speed little 2.5 cylinder. Yep. Yeah, little 4-cylinder. That was my first vehicle. My dad always grew up with off-roading and modifying vehicles. So one of the first-- we always did little projects, but one of the first big projects. I think I was 20 years old. We did a V8 swap on that Jeep. Oh, dang. Oh, nice. Yeah. What did you go with? What's that? Which V8 did you go with? Do you know? It was a Chevy 350. Grow up body injected out of a 91 Chevy step side. Nice. So it was fun. Funny, those V8s had probably about the same power as the Street 6 that came in those jeeps. It wasn't that-- but compared to the 2.5 big difference. It sounds good, though. Oh, it sounded awesome. I had, I think, a Flowmaster or something on it. This was back before there was YouTube DIY tutorials on everything. I mean, you have to really do your research on forums to learn how to do any of these swaps. Well, you didn't have AI to tell you every step. But do you need to take there? Not at that moment. You really had Google. We had asked Jeeps. Yeah, oh, that's right. I heard that. Oh, man. OK, so you had the YJ. How long did you guys have that kind of built up for a specific type of off-roading or just kind of like a daily driver kind of thing? It was actually a mix. I had it for just general off-roading, only 33-inch tires, locker in the rear. But I also cloud-snowed it. So I-- it was my daily driver. I off-roaded, and I cloud-snowed it. So I had to have that thing reliable. But cloud-snow with the V8, that was nice. Was that like a side job you had as a kid growing up or what? Yeah, that was my winter side job as a kid. And I've always had little odds and end jobs. But yeah, before I became a nurse, I had a lot of different little odds and end jobs. So-- Nice. I had a newspaper route. And then I was an umpire and scorekeeper for the local T-ball, little league stuff. I never got to do snow plowing there. That's fun. That's fun. The only thing that sucks is when you got a-- like, no matter what, when the snow is there, you have to work. So you don't get to pick and choose your sleep schedule. There's times I plowed 24 hours straight. And I mean, I'm an 18-year-old kid plowing like-- Yeah, it was busy, but it was good work. Good pay, actually, for that. Right. --trivial plowing. So-- Yeah, my buddy has a cabin up in the woods, and he pays for our plow to come in. And that deal is whenever there's three inches of snow on the driveway that it gets plowed. And so I can only imagine that it's just-- this guy's always coming around. Yeah, you go back. Yeah, you might-- I'm one snowstorm. You might hit that property three times. Yeah. You can't wait to the end. Like, they don't-- they doesn't work that way. You think you'd save money by a hell. I'll pay you at the end. Nope. That's way more. It's way more work. Yeah, that's it. It is. So-- That's crazy. Cool. So how long did you have the Jeep? That Jeep, I think, I had it about nine years. Wow. OK. Yeah. I mean, we totally end up refreshing it, repainting it, pulling the motor again, and just refreshing everything up again. That was fun. That was sad selling it, and sold that, and then ended up being without a Jeep for like a year and a half. And then I moved to Arizona. And drove my out of BMW car, drove that here, and then it wasn't long until I got my first Jeep here, probably. Like nine months, I ended up getting another Jeep here. So yeah. And so what did you end up getting this time? So I had a four door when I first came here, but I only had that for maybe a year. I wanted a little bit newer body style. So I upgraded to the 13, and just a nicer interior, nicer motor, everything. And I've had that Jeep for the last like almost nine, almost nine years. OK. Give it take. Yeah. Nice. And so what have you done to-- Yeah, yeah, it exists. What have you done to that Jeep since you got it? Done a lot. I mean, I've upgraded. I didn't change the axles, but I've upgraded the axles to handle 37 inch tires. I've done the gears a few time. Pretty much lifted. The biggest thing that I did is I put a 6.4 Hemi in it. Whoa. Oh, yeah. That's a big-- It's a big change. And I got the 6.4 with the 8-speed transmission. Nice. Ooh. Yeah. So that's actually on my YouTube channel, doing a lot of DIY swaps. So cool. Yeah. That's what-- You did that swap all yourself? What's that? You did that swap all yourself? Yeah. And my two car garage. Wow. That's cool. Thank you. Kudos. Yeah. Yeah. And so it's a 44-- Dana 44 rear axle. Yeah. And he can handle it. Like, you have a glow that up? One gear set I did. I did break it in the end at one point. But then I made a nice YouTube video on doing the whole axle or the gear swap. Yeah. That was cool. Yeah. Yeah, no. I definitely-- I've raised a couple cars with it. It's fast. It's fast. Just don't do those burn outs at all. That's what breaks the ring gear. That is. No. I really decided I'm going to launch it. I had to put it in four-wheel drive. Yeah. Because it will rip from tires off. It'll chirp when it's shifting into like second gear, just by right ready to go. So yeah. Transmission has sport mode. So now it's-- No. That's-- it sounds like a big blast. Was your family big into cars and automotives going up? Really? My dad was the biggest one in the cars. My uncle had a stingray corbat when he was younger. But my dad's been the one that's always had jeeps, always had lifted trucks, lifted golf carts, anything that-- anything you can't keep anything stock in our house. Good. That's the way it is. So yeah. I like it. Yeah. So how do you-- typically people who grow up-- in kind of a big automotive world that are doing engine swaps in their garages, and then do their own engine swap in their two car garage with a 6'4, squeezing a 6'4" Emmy into the Jeep engine bay. How'd you get into nursing from that? Funny. Two different things. So I'm able-- like the way I was looked at it as like helping people. I've always been wanting to help people. If I-- in Ohio, it was a little different. If somebody's pulled over on the side of the road, and their flashes are on, you stop. And you check on them. If they need help, you do that. Arizona, you don't really do that. You don't pull over at checkout. You let the police handle it or whatever. You're kind of-- you're laery about that. In Ohio, you stop and you help everybody. You don't do that in California. What is that? You don't stop helping people. No, don't say where there is any. But I was never really able to help people medically. So one story I saw a guy at a concert have a young kid have a seizure in front of me. And I'm like, I have no idea what to do. I mean, if his car was broke down, yeah. Let's do it. You know, it's changed the starter in the parking lot. But no, I had no idea what to do. So that was kind of the first sign that I wanted something medical. And then, my grandma, who I'm still very close with, she lives back in Michigan. She would always tell me how much she loves the male nurses. They're so nice. They're just they come in and they're just so like, do their job. And that's just kind of like, kind of gave me a direction of what I wanted to do. I mean, love my grandma. So yeah, yeah. That's cool. Yeah, that's really unique. That's fun to hear. I feel like that sentiment is, I go to a lot in our industry where off-roader is typically want to help each other and want to be helpful out in the wilderness. We all understand that we're all getting away from society and maybe so if shit goes down and bad things happen, we're usually there to lend a hand for each other. And that's cool to hear that. I go not just in the off-roading industry, but you're taking it into all society, which is really cool. Yeah, thank you. Thank you. How long have you been doing the RN stuff then? Nine, just over nine years. Yep. Okay. It's over nine years, yeah. Yeah, that's cool. I enjoy it. So did the YouTube side of working on vehicles come from the same need to try and help people? Funny story. So like I always did all these projects, very unique projects. Stuff that a lot of YouTubers are actually tapping into. And my wife, or my fiancee, and girlfriend at the time who is now my wife, she's like, you need to record this stuff. I don't want to record it. She's like, no, you literally need to record this stuff. people see what you're doing.
So I took my little Amazon security camera and I mounted it on the garage and I just let it do a time lapse of me doing the V8 swap and that swap was over a couple months. By the end of the swap, I'm holding the camera and talking into it and that literally is what got me started recording and doing that and then having the feedback of people just, hey, thanks so much for your video, hey, thanks so much for this. Nobody else does a video like this. It just really, it kind of motivates me to just, just help people. One of the V8 swap pages that I'm always on, I'm literally always trying, I mean, Lailie's been busy, but as much as I can trying to help out people, answer questions, get on these Facebook comments and just, you know, give my insight on it. I just enjoy helping and just seeing the comments on there, even with some negative comments, you got comments that are like, man, nobody ever does stuff like this or content like this. So it's good to see, not saying my YouTube channel is the best or anything, it's not, but there's good DIY stuff. You can learn how to do like the V8 swap, I did it in my buddies, you can go from zero to 100% swapped by watching these four videos. I mean, I talk specs. I do a lot of extra effort on them. So nice. I don't think we've said it yet. What is your YouTube and Instagram channels? Yeah, it's a JKU 392 adventures. Perfect. That's YouTube and the Instagram. So called JK392 adventures. Everybody out there and we'll put that down the show notes for you guys to so that people want to go check out the, all the social media, the YouTube channel, such a quick access there to do it. I was never still kind of am in the mindset of YouTube is not worth doing. But there's one incident that always sticks with me that echoes kind of what you're talking about where Jimmy does a lot of YouTube or did a lot of YouTube still kind of does. And he just, it's like it's like DIY stuff, right? You're saying, here's how to do something to a vehicle. And one of the things he did was he was explaining whenever I pull a tire or a wheel off a vehicle, I throw it under the vehicle. I don't set off to the side. I thought under the vehicle. And that's so that just in case the vehicle comes off the jack stand, anything happens, the vehicle comes down on the tire and not you. And Jimmy actually had a guy write him saying that he had never done that before. And this one time he was like, yeah, okay, that sounds like a good idea after watching Jimmy's video through the tire under the car. And the car came off the jack stand came down. And he would be dead. Yeah. If it wasn't for this one time that he was like, I just saw this video on snail trail four by four. And I'm a third of the tire into the car. So that just go ahead. Honestly, that, that's awesome. That story literally that's so cool. Yeah, it's crazy. He was, I guess he, the guy that guy was parked somewhat on a little hill. And so it slid backwards. And he said, it's still pinched me, but I was able to crawl out. Yeah. And I'm like, oh gosh, like I sent him some swag and stuff. But funny story out onto that that just happened to Brennan. The same Brennan's like should. Yeah, just a good friend of ours that is up in this area. He's like, yeah, ever since working with Jimmy, I've been throwing tires under the rigs and actually it just came off and fell on to. Yeah. Yeah. So it's like that. I'm two people. I'm not going with that. See, I'm no nurse, but you know, say. And now there's probably a number of people who don't tell you that they do that now. Yeah. Okay. We'll be up to three. Yeah. And it's funny how YouTube is such a great search engine and everybody's, you know, uses it to do things DIY things, built things, just researching. And just a funny little thing that you say, just like a little bonus, you know, in the middle of it, like, oh, I always just do this. It's just people latch onto some things like that. And it's that's what's out of the entire video. That's what stuck with them. But I'm sure you've had that instances with your wolf box reviews and all the different stuff that you promote and highlight there with wolf box. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I do my wolf box videos a little different on YouTube. We can talk about that later, but it's it's it's some cool stuff. The way I do it compared to a lot of other people. So. How is that different? Let's talk about it now. So one of the things that I do when I do a comparison, for instance, the G900 versus the Tripro or the G900 versus the G900 Pro. The way I did it on my YouTube channel is instead of just having it up there and essentially reviewing the footage on the on the computer and comparison, compare and a footage. I mount the regular mirror and then below it, I mount the G900 Tripro and then below that, I mount the G900. I've got a camera behind me or I'm showing. So when you're driving at night, you're not just looking at reviewed footage from the SD card. You're literally seeing what the viewer sees. You're seeing how. Right. The cameras are how they react differently to different lights or headlights. So you're actually. Like when you're driving, you're not reviewing this on the SD card. So. Right. I do. I get a lot of people saying thank you for like literally reviewing it instead of just showing us an SD card. So. Right. Yeah. That's one big thing that I do differently that I haven't seen a lot of people take the time and do all that. Then I go to SD card. I do both. So. Yeah. Sure. That's funny that you mentioned that because now that you mentioned it, I think of all the ever since we did trail hero expeditions this year. And so that's where we got introduced a wolf box at. But ever since then, I've been getting a bunch of wolf box ads showing up on my algorithm. Right. And you're right. A lot of them are just showing what the video feed is showing what's on the SD card, right, rather than showing what is it like to be a human being looking at this object kind of thing. So. Yeah. That's a that's a cool feature that I haven't really noticed until just now. Yeah. Yeah. So how many review your camera mirror things have you had up at one time? I've had four or five of them all of them. There's not enough. Even the three. So I've had the regular mirror and then the two others. It blocks the whole center of the windshield. Jeep windshields. They're short. Yeah. No, well, just start a whole nother road next to it. I should. I really should. Yeah. The best. The coolest thing about those videos is I leave the factory mirror up there. So I move the camera up there and you're like, I can't see the car that's beside me. Then I show the the G900. You literally see the cars on the side of you. Yeah. That's one. Tyler has talked about like if there's pretty much no blind spots anymore. Literally. It's really nice. Yeah. I mean, I obviously we can't claim that because we don't want anybody. Yeah. Yeah. Don't take that as granted. But just driving with the mirror right here. Yeah. But the thing is it's such a wide angle. That you have a better view out of those cameras. Then you do out of the factory mirror. It's it's under the sun. And I'm we did some night driving with on trail hero X. I unfortunately don't have a wolf box yet. But it's in the works. But I don't don't remember having any negative things about night driving. And I've never thought about that as an issue because it is a camera. You're right. It's not just a mirror. And so but I'm. Can you explain the night driving like is it? How's the camera show up? What's the what's it look like? How does it compare to a mirror? Yeah. So let's put this way like if I'm driving like I did a trip up to Moab and I usually go when I'm driving up at night. And when I'm just driving on these pitch black roads, no vehicles, no nothing out of a rear view mirror. And I've tested this where I turn off the screen on the wolf box. I don't see anything out of the rear view mirror. Nothing. If I turn on the wolf box screen from my purely from my running lights. I can see the lanes of the road and this is a pitch black road. I can see pretty far back in the lanes. And if I hit the brakes, then I can see signs light up even from the brake lights driving down the road. That's one of the biggest thing and that's in pitch black in areas where there is street lights. I am able to essentially see my surroundings, even where it's not pitch black, but really dark and just street lights. Compared to a regular mirror, especially I have a little bit of tint on the Jeep. With the Jeep, you're not really with the regular mirror. You're not really seeing anything because you could only see the tunnel vision right behind you. And none of that's lit. You can't see the street lights. You can't see this or that unless it's farther away. The G900 or the Tri-Pro, you are seeing a lit street. You're seeing the highway. You're seeing the moon. You're seeing not stars, but you could see the stars probably if they're bright enough. Yeah, now that we're talking about that, the other thing I think I really, really appreciate about the the wolf box is you know how on a basic review mirror an actual mirror, not a camera like you find an OEM cars nowadays, but just the mirror itself. It has that little toggle flip switch for when headlights are back there, right. And it dims your mirror so that you're not blinded by this really harsh headlight coming in your mirror, right. And so you either have full brightness or very dim. You can't see ship behind you like you said except for these two lights now. Yeah. In factory OEM camera mirrors, whatever they're called. I feel like there's that doesn't they don't do a good job at blending that really harsh light so that the headlights are not hurting your eyes.
But so that you can still see your surroundings. Yeah. You typically get one or the other with those as well. But I feel like with the wolf box, when I'm driving around at nighttime, I don't feel blinded by a really harsh light from headlights behind me. But I can still see all my surroundings. Yeah. And I don't know if that has to do with the cameras they're using, the lenses they're using or some sort of programming in the video screen. But now that you're saying, talking about how much you can see the surroundings, I just realized another thing that that's totally correct. You can see all the surroundings without getting blinded by the extra headlights behind you. Yeah. I think I'm just speculating on what's doing. I think it has to do with the lens, but I also think it's like the exposure value or something that's kind of dimming either it's like dimming the whole area or dimming the whole screen. That way that headlight isn't overpowering the lens. But even when it does essentially dim that, because you can see when there's a bright, like brights behind you, the whole screen will like the whole outside area will dim a little bit, but it's not to point where you don't see your surroundings. Yeah. It's just kind of dimmed that like so the light isn't blinding you. Yeah. Funny you bring that up, I actually had a someone on my YouTube asking, hey, when someone's bright lights are on and it's shining right into that camera, is that blinding you in the eyes? And I said, it can only go as bright as a white screen. Like turn on your white phone. It's not going to blind you like a reflection of the sun because the reflection is a reflection is literally a almost equal part of the same brightness. Yeah. Like what's being created by a camera or the screen, that's not going to blind you. Yeah. Oh, so that's a good point. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I really appreciate that. I complain constantly about people if they have their high beams on, I can just tell immediately for some reason my eyes are really sensitive about it. And I have noticed that that that doesn't bug me at all when I'm driving around with the wolf box at nighttime. Yeah. Literally, I never, I never even like look up at the camera to see like, I got to move it to turn the the brights off. Never bothers me. Same thing. So that's cool. Yeah. And that was just a something I've never thought of as like, oh, how's the night driving? You know, it's for me, it's like, oh, I just have the camera. I'm using it as a review mirror, but I've never paid attention that much to like what the night driving would be, but it sounds like it's better than a stock mayor for sure. Absolutely. That's really cool. That's better than a stock near. So yeah, that's true. And I tested it. So I believe you have you gotten an opportunity yet to use a wolf box of G900 or a pro or a pro or anything like that on like a cab over camper or a trailer set up situation yet. I have not with actual, no, I haven't like with like a truck with a cab on or something. Yeah, like a camper shell, not a camper shell, but like something that's removable. He's asking because he is his game plan. So I have an F350 doly with a Lance cab over camper that gets put on and off the truck. So I want to set up one of the cameras on the truck itself. So like on the bumper on the hitch, something like that and then set up the other camera on the back of the Lance with some sort of bulkhead fitting. So modify in the wiring, some quick attachment point where I can disconnect the wiring whenever I take the Lance on and off the truck. And I'm curious how well that works. And if anybody's done it to make the wiring simple or if anybody has a solution that they've used or done before and just curious if anyone's played around with it yet. Yeah. So I have an experience. I have it. A lot of people ask me that at the Institute Safari. Like how do I go about this? I haven't actually picked up the parts and attempted to do this, but they do sell the extension wiring kit on their website. So my, my, and I haven't proven this or even asked Wolf Fox, but the way I would actually go about this is go do an extension from the actual dash cam to the rear of the truck. And at the rear of the truck, you have now that cable that extends to there. You can attach the camera that's attached to the truck when you're not using the camper to that extension cable. And then when you are using the camper, you just want to plug it there and you plug in the one that's mounted on the camper. And that already creates your, your disconnection right there. Okay. That's probably how I would go about about that. So that makes a lot of sense. I didn't realize, of course, they would have an extension line. I think they have extensions on there. So they have a ton of little creative, uh, little problem solution items, accessory items, fixes for all sorts of different application setups of the G 900s on vehicles. Yeah. That's really impressive. Yeah. Yeah. They literally, they think of all the little, the little things, little problems that people have had and, uh, ask them for solutions or they've already kind of come up with different solutions. So, yeah. It's cool. Does that come from a lot of just paying very close attention to the market and their customers? Like, are they, are they constantly asking their customers, hey, how's this working for you? What do you wish it did that it doesn't do? Does it come down to working with their influencers and their ambassadors a lot or like, what is, how, how does that process typically work for them? Why are they so good at that? Um, I think there's a couple of different areas that they go. So first off, they are very active on their Instagram channel. They are communicating with customers or communicating with the influencers asking, at least myself, asking me a lot of different questions. How would I use this in this application? Or, hey, somebody brought this up to me. What's your thoughts on this? And I get to kind of give my viewpoint on that. They also have a face, well, I don't know if it's specifically them, but they have a, there's a Facebook group, a Wolfbox Facebook group. Of course. Yeah. I don't know if it's specifically them. No one advertised on there that, hey, this is our group, but you get a lot of people asking questions. And then there's like their main, like, leader of that Facebook group, kind of ask your, um, answering a lot of questions. And sometimes when I see him answer questions, I see a fix coming down the road. Okay. So somebody who, for instance, somebody was saying, hey, I'm so tired of the, uh, the GPS on the screen. It's just in the way. I don't need it. Next to you know, for a more update, you can now get rid of the GPS on the screen. You know, how they have that or the time. The other cool thing about it is, um, on my YouTube channel, I've had people ask me the different questions. If I get busy with work or whatever projects, I see Wolfbox actually answering those questions. Oh, that's cool. On my YouTube channel. Literally like, we're applying to different questions. So I'm like, yeah. Yeah. So I think just a customer feedback and, uh, initially inquiring from the customer. And then the actual last thing I want to say about that, um, they, for instance, come to offline events. East Asia Safari, the vendor show, they came from China and was running the vendor show with us. I mean, they're talking with the consumers. Yeah. Um, in that, that vendor show ours was, ours was probably the busiest booth out of every booth at East Asia Safari. And I kid you not. It was so busy. My throat was hurting. I'd never talked that much my life. Yeah. That's good. It was insane. It was cool. Yeah. What did Wolfbox start out as essentially the G900's, this review camera system, um, or did they start as a different product company and, and kind of got into these and found this really, um, high demand niche in the, the aftermarket offered industry. Yeah. I, so before I started working them before the G900, excuse me, um, I'm not 100% positive what other cameras they had before. I know of a couple different Wolfbox older cameras that you could still see when I first started out Amazon, different models. So I really believe they started with either just a general dash cam or the one that literally replaces your mirror. Okay. Um, cause even like I said, when I first looked up the G900, I was researched in the company and there was a couple other older models on Amazon still that I didn't really see on their website or they weren't promoting. So those must, there were older versions of the similar products. Um, so I really think they started with me replacement dash cams and now they're tapping into really getting, uh, what the consumer needs, you know, the off-road community or just everyday drivers, just really, you know, touching base to what they actually need, not just a dash cam sitting up there, recording everything. It's more of an interactive tool. Yeah. That's, that's kind of, I feel like that's like their goal of their products is not just to sit there and forget about it, but to swipe it if you want to see your, your front axle, swipe it again if you want to see your rear axle or, you know, it depends on how you set it up. So, yeah. How do you have all your camera set up? Okay. So originally at the, the, the tri pro, I originally had it under my front bumper just facing forward, I could sort of almost see right in front of the tires and then I recently moved it before usurjeepe Safari. I put it right in front of my, uh, my center, um, the, uh, Smith's kid plate, but the, uh, cross member. So I really have it on top of my cross member. I can see my whole entire front axle. Oh, geez. Yeah. Which is, which is awesome. It's like I was--
doing one of the obstacles and I see my tires just spinning going up this obstacle. So I might challenge it. It's just a little short or whatever. But so that's how I have the front camera, the third try pro camera setup so I can see all of what my tires are doing. You see the axle flexing around, which it's neat. It's a cool view. That'd be a really nice way to tell if your buddy is unlocked your hubs during lunch or something. I know. You're doing it right? Remove your driveshaft or tell your driveshaft is on a rock. Yeah, fair. So we've all been there where we're like, you know there's a rock near there, but your friend's telling you, you're not, you're good. But I'm looking at your driveshaft. Yeah. So you get out afterwards. You're like, I can't go over 30 miles an hour guys. Yeah. I got a camera back there. That actually happened on the way home from me. So jeep safari that was making some loud noises. So I had to pull over and remove my driveshaft and build my drive. Yeah. Yeah. What is cool? In the video, you can see me under there working on and pulling it out. Yeah. That's pretty good. What are some of the key features that you really like about the Wolfbox G90080 or the pro or the try? Are there or actually, let's back up just here. I'm going to ask you that. But what about the other cameras? Do you just have the rear camera facing out the back? Where'd you mount that? And then the other camera, the primary camera is just built into the unit facing forward, right? Correct. So the primary camera, I removed my original factory mirror and I did one of their hard mounts onto the windshield. So that's the primary camera. The rear camera, I don't have a spare tire on the Jeep, but I got the license plate right in the center of the door, the rear door. So I had the camera mounted above my license plate light. There's a hard mounted there and it's perfect right there. So nice. It's probably about chest level high. So it's, I like it. That's why I always mounted it right there. So yeah. Do you find any advantages to mounting the camera higher or lower? Like is how about for your rear view camera? Is it better to have it high so you can see farther back or is it better to have it low so you can make the license plates? I don't know. I would say probably about mid chest level is going to be about perfect for my view. If you mounted too high, I got it might be in W, I got X5. I've got it mounted higher and it's, it's like you got to almost get used to it being mounted higher versus mounted lower because you're more looking down. I mean, not really looking down, but it's just kind of a little bit of a difference of just perspective. If you mounted too low though, then you are people without their rights on. Even if their low beeps are on, you're right where that headlight would be. So you're kind of constantly fighting that that had like coming at it like a high beam. So I'd say mounting it chest high or above would be, I would say ideally, it'd be best. But some people do it at the trailer hitch, which that looks good. You're closer to the ground so you're getting, I don't know, I'd grasp it. You're getting more ground. Yeah. Maybe that's why the I don't find I ever get any headlight glare. My camera is up in my spoiler on the four runners. So it's up, it's at roof level, right? And my four runners already really tall. So I'm definitely looking down on all the vehicles. But I also really like that because typically I'm taller than most vehicles that are daily driven on a road or a highway. So I got to stop light. I can see two, three, four cars behind me, which I found that I started appreciating too. I can see what's happening behind the cars that are behind me as cars approach the intersection. So yeah. Plus, plus you're always looking down on people. That's fair. That's a reality. And just me because we were her reality perspective too. No, that's definitely added safety features. Yeah, that brings up a good point. Mounting it higher. You are seeing what's around instead of just the car behind you. So that's a good point. Okay. All right. So what about key features of the wolf box? Any of them that you that you've had throughout time, is there like a certain feature that you like or with the new ones? Is there something that's new and exciting that's out with the Tri-Pro that you really want to highlight? Like, yeah, let's talk about some of those features. As far as just in general, the features that I do like about in general, all of them is the fact of having a like a 2.5 K rear camera that is now your review mirror. And in general, one of the that because of that, if I load up the Jeep with balloons or if I'm going camping and I can't see anything when I turn behind me, I can now see everything. Even the BMW had it fully loaded with a bunch of birthday balloons. I couldn't see anything. But I'm like, oh, I'm fine. I can literally still see everything. So as far as my favorite feature about generally all of them, that's probably one of the biggest one because I would go camping. I have to see out the rear view mirror. If I'm just driving, I can't see out the rear. I don't know. I feel uneasy. So that's one of the main features of all of them that I really appreciate. The the G900 or the even the Tri-Pro, the quality of the rear view camera is literally, I'd say, second to none. It is amazing. But that front camera especially, the 4K and that front, I've used a lot of footage for my YouTube channel. I've used it for off-roading, something happens. The front or rear, something happens. I literally have a 4K footage that I can post that up online, use it for different videos and see good quality. The Tri-Pro, the cool feature, I love where I mounted the that third camera and seeing the whole axle. Can I pull up and show you? Yeah, show it on the camera. Two seconds. Yeah. I've always thought about undercarriage cameras, tire cameras. I had a Bronco, one of the new ones with the front facing camera and I hated it. It was a pretty shitty camera. But I also didn't like, I didn't appreciate the view angle that I was getting from it. But I've never thought of setting up a camera so you can see the entire axle. Yeah. And what it's doing. That's, I might have to try that. Let's just bounce off. All right. This is paused. Let's see. So if I play it, I got all three views. Oh yeah. All three views on this screen. But you can see the tight, you see a drive shaft spitting. And then I'm going up this obstacle. Yeah. You can see what the suspension is doing, what the links are doing, the axles, your tires, your drive, that's actually. And you can have that V8. And you can do the V8. All the different footage has the audio file attached to them. So that's actually really cool too. So that's one of the exciting things. I and another thing that they are a mushroom, I'm supposed to talk too much about it. But they're going to be coming out with another camera that's going to meet some, that's right. Four, four channel camera. We've heard the rumors that they're coming out the four channel one. Yeah. They asked me, they said, where would you, where would you point these? I said, well, I could see my front drive shaft right now. I need to see my rear drive shaft. You're more likely to hit stuff on your rear drive shaft just because, you know, you know, you know, what you're doing over the front tires, you can move to the left or right. It's you forget about the rocks when you get to the rear of the vehicle already. So yeah, that's what Jimmy really needs on his. Well, I was if they ever come out with a five one because one of them's always built into the unit, right? That's that's one of so I was like, man, if they had a five camera, we could literally point one at every single tire. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You can see what it's going on. Yeah. I was thinking as a as a video creator, I was like, man, I would use, I would have a rear camera, front camera. I'd have the one in the on the unit up as my mirror. And I would probably put the fourth one in cab facing me. Yeah. And so that I can like talk about what's going on or whatever, and you could actually see me. It's not it's not that creative of the Austin. I've seen a lot of influences do that. It is a cool view. And they do an obstacle and you see they're like, I don't know if I can curse their oh shit face. Yeah. Yeah. It's cool. It's it gives it a perspective. So I have a go go pro 360 camera. And I've stuck that in like right below my mirror. And I'll and I'll swivel it. I'll be like sometimes I'll be like, Oh, that's a cool camping spot. And then the camera will pan around the cabin point over to where I'm pointing. They're like, how'd you do that? You know, and a lot of people like that because I can like what it's not just facing me. I can I can point it and do with the wolf box. You can have the camera that's pointing forward. The 4k camera. And then one if you pointed out yourself, you can go back and forth. That's a good that would be actually really cool. That would be a good good in like a inner cad perspective. The other thoughts when kids come around too, you know, you got a camera in the back facing the kids. That's going to be my next question is, do you have kids? And are you doing that? No kids yet. Yeah, it's down the road. But that would be one area that I would definitely want that for. Or if I had two kids, two cameras set up. Yeah, really, really good. At that point, then the Jeep gets smaller street tires and no more operating. No, I'm kidding. Well, they love operating. And one of the benefits, one of the benefits of the wolf boxes, it has like a G sensor, a motion sensor inside of it. So even if the car is all
off if there's something that happens to your vehicle and causes it to have this movement, the camera turns on, right? And it'll start recording. So if you have a camera inside your vehicle pointing back at you with the driver or something in the back seat and you're getting robbed, it's going to start videoing the person that's inside your vehicle, which is, which could be another benefit. Like I'm, I'm not normally thinking about getting, always getting robbed. But it was like, oh, there's, for me, it's another bonus, right? So keep it, keep it, keep it going the whole time. Like, even getting a, nothing wrong with getting pulled over, it happens, but keep your key on if you get pulled over or anything, just so nothing can be questioned. Yeah. Yeah. So that's, that's just a good point to have that inner camera. That's a good perspective I never even thought about. Get robbed or that you see the, the Uber drivers. Oh, sure. Yeah. You don't have an Uber driver and that's another kind of a good area where you'd want that inner camera. So, right. As there ever been an incident when you've locked the screen, like, hit the lock button to like, save a portion of video. Like was there a crazy driver or you did something cool on an obstacle and you're like, I need to save this. Yeah. No, I have had a lot of different situations where I do lock it. I've seen different, like, not that I witnessed at car accidents, but I pulled over, had it in the work one day and a truck was on its side and there was a bunch of people trying to bash in the window to get the person out of the truck. So I pulled over and I left the car running and didn't even think about leaving the car. I only left the car running for my hazards and I'm the only medical on the scene. I'm running up and I'm assessing the whole situation. Yeah. And I go back later, I'm driving to work and I'm like, it was recording the whole entire time. Yeah. Yeah. That was cool. I'm not going to be able to do that. I'm going to be able to do that. Yeah. I think those little ones are perfect for camping.
products. Yeah, those are kind of some of the some of the ones that they top touch into a lot of different consumer needs. Are they doing any armor? Do they do like rock sliders and stuff? They don't have any armor yet. I just sent them videos or a website links the other day of a a different company. Am I going to name them? That does like sliders for jeeps. And they do like the motorized stepsides. I'm like, please make some of these for my Jeep, please. Yeah. I've never, you know, growing up in around trucks and offered vehicles. I never thought that I would really appreciate motorized steps on a vehicle. And I've gotten so used to them on the duly trucks that I unplugged one of them on one of the tow rigs here at the shop. And I stepped out of the truck and almost fell on my face because I wasn't because I used to those steps. And I was like, Oh, I don't like this not having it down. Like I've come. It's one of those things kind of like the Wolf Box the G900. I'm like, I really appreciate those motorized steps now. Yeah, literally. Yeah. So I would love some for my Jeep. Hopefully that's a future project they'll work on. I know the trucks are what they're doing right now with those. And then like we talked about they're doing the four channel dash cam. I asked them specifically, they said that the one in the mirrors going to be 4K. And then the one for the rear of the vehicle is also going to be 4K, which that's that's what we've been asking for. And I know it takes a lot of computing power to run 2 4K cameras. And I don't know what they did, but they said that's what it's going to be. So, wow, hopefully I'm allowed to say that. Interesting. I wonder if the screen on the actual review screen part, the display, the video display is going to have a fast enough refresh rate to really make use of a 4K camera. It will because sometimes I'll switch it to the front camera, which is 4K. In the quality of that looks amazing. I posted a short the other day. And it's of me removing that plastic cover off of the camera. I'm facing the front camera. I've got a TV in front of the camera. And you're literally watching the TV on the dash cam. So it's it's it's it's good refresh rate. It's wow. It's good. So yeah, I was going to say they've been there. It's already there already is a 4K camera. So the screen is already fine to be able to handle it. Yeah. Yeah. It's but like you were saying, it's about the computing power of now it's running 2 4K video cameras coming into it processing that saving that data all at the same time because it saves everything, right? It's saving right now. It's the three. We have there's a three channel camera or a setup out there and it's saving it's a 4K front 2.5 rear and a 1080. Well, accessory accessory front accessory camera and it's saving all that data all at once in three different camera like setups. And it's showing the video on the screen all at the same time all through that unit. It's quite impressive. So definitely definitely an impressive unit. So one of the things that I really like about what they do to we talked about a little of the different accessory problem solution items they have for different things. They have multiple ways you can power these and run these. They have you can run them off your OBD port. You can run them off of a battery. You can run them off of they have an add a fuse option to. There's lots of different ways to power and run a 12 volt accessory port like a cigarette lighter. They have a lot of different ways to run the power of these things. So there's lots of different options for setting them up and how you want to configure and run them in your vehicles. So yes. And I've done essentially all different wiring setups and I've experienced all of them which is cool. In East Jeep Safari we hooked up a G900 Pro in my dad's Jeep JL. We just stepped out one night we're like, all right, let's hook it up and get it all set up. So we used the OBD port. We didn't have to tap in any wiring plugs right in perfect. It was so easy to wire that up. We did in the parking lot of our hotel. So that's cool. That's cool. Okay. Cool. Anything else? Essentially touching on there, like customer service. If there are issues or concerns, they got 24 hour customer support. That's really nice for being a company that's kind of based in China to be able to have that much customer support in the States here. It shows that they're really focusing and they're treating it as a big priority, which is really nice. Yeah. No, definitely is. I mean, I've had people reach out to me and say, hey, this is going on. I literally just kind of directed them to customer service for Wolf Fox and then I had to even get back to me and say, hey, they reach out to me. They sent me this or they sent me a firmware update and it totally fixed the issue. So actually just messaging with the guy on Instagram, like yesterday he sent me the update, hey, everything's working perfectly now. Nice. I get those random bits of feedback. But yeah, their customer service is probably one of the biggest things about Wolf Fox is that they have that compared to, well, I don't want to say compared to other companies, but just in comparison to other companies for sure. They strive, and they've talked to me about they strive to not compare themselves against other companies, but just essentially compare themselves to what the customer is looking for. Yeah. So they don't say, what is this company doing compared to us? They say, what is the customer actually need? So that comes back to like that wire loom for the or the wiring for the front bumper camera. They saw that the heat of the engine was kind of deteriorating the wires. So they automatically had their factory whatever put loom on the wire so that way can better withstand the elements or the heat from the engine bay. So yeah, they're always trying to do what the customer needs, which was awesome. That's really cool. I like I like that they're being so customer oriented and customer focused. I think that companies, companies that don't do that just end up losing touch with what the market is looking for. And they become obsolete and done for it pretty quickly. Especially nowadays with wants and needs and desires, changing and updating so freaking quickly and so often. It's really necessary for companies to be extremely customer focused. And I had never heard about that side of wolf box before. So it's really cool to hear that they're doing that and they're following through with it. So they even like the offline events, they are there physically going and talking to customers, getting their inputs, their feedback, taking notes down. I saw one of the employees from wolf box literally texting somebody as the customer is telling them the different concern or this or that. That's one of the coolest things they come to these events. They're going to be at trail hero. They're probably going to do I think SEMA next year. Excuse me. SEMA next year again. So okay. Yeah, we got to meet two of them to the employees at trail hero x. They had like a little car show and they were out there and they were definitely one they're one of the main sponsors of the show. And so it was good to meet them, talk with them. We got to meet them at the very beginning and then at the end, there was a lot of like if you have any questions or comments or feedback on the unit, please come and tell us we're all ears and we want to make this the best possible thing. They do good with feedback. So it's awesome. Yeah. Okay. Well, awesome, man. Anything else about wolf box about yourself, anything that you've kind of you have some fun, maybe a YouTube release coming out soon that you're like, this is going to be a lot of fun. People should check it out. Anything like that going on in the near future. One of the YouTube videos I'm working on right now, it's about my BMW X5. So I can do kind of new modern stuff on that. It's a 19. It's kind of different from the Jeep off road, but I was able to get a modular from AliExpress that taps into my BMW has laser lights on it, but you can only activate that when you're going over a certain speed and it's got to be literally pitch black. This module that I was able to get and tap into the lights, deep in some of the main wiring harness makes us so when I turn my brights on, the lasers are also activated. That's just a more concentrated beam. So that's a new video to be working on real soon getting that out. So a little different from the Jeep, but I like I said, I tap into those very unique videos that who else is going to deep in some of their ECU on a brand new BMW. That sounds cool. I'm going to definitely have to see how that performs. I'm curious how those lights really look. That's cool. So sweet. Cool. If anybody has any questions for you, Austin, how can they reach out to you? Get a hold of you. Find you, etc. My Instagram channel is usually where I direct people if they want to message me. If they're watching a video and have a question, I always recommend to leave a comment. I do my best to reply to people, especially in comments. I just try to take the extra time to do that. Instagram, though, if it's a back and forth message, just message me there and I can easily get back to you. And I always tell people, I've reached out and I said, hey, if you have an issue, reach out to me and I will try to navigate getting a hold of somebody from Wolfbox. But most time, it's not even needed. I've never actually had someone say to me, I can't get a hold of them. I've never had that. So, but yeah, awesome. And that Instagram once again was jk 392 adventures. Correct.
- Correct. - Correct. - Go. - And that's, and that is also your Instagram and YouTube channel. - Correct. - Okay. So we can all watch the laser beam light show on the YouTube channel here soon. - Awesome. Well, if anybody has any questions for us, we can also direct questions over to Austin and/or Wolfbox if needed. You can get ahold of me. I'm at snail trail four by four on Instagram. Tyler's at four by four Toyota Tyler. You can also email us, Jimmy or Tyler at snail trail four by four dot com. Or you can call into our voicemail segment 916 345 4744. And we answer those questions live on the air and we get to make as much fun of you as we possibly can. - Truth. - Awesome. Awesome. Austin, thanks so much for taking the time out of your day to join us. - Thanks so much. - I'm glad that we kind of got to take it out of the middle of the day when it's 112 outside. You don't have to be out there suffering. So. - Yes, yes, seriously. - Thanks again, man. Yeah, we'll have to check in soon. Once you get ahold of the four camera system and get a chance to play around with it. Maybe we'll get you back on the show and see how that one's working for you. - Absolutely. I look forward to it. That'll be super exciting. - Cool. Jimmy, any final words to wrap up the show today? You want to leave everybody with? - Well, let's see. I think that Wolfbox is a really interesting company. I like how they're diversifying. I think it's they're going in a lot of really cool ways. But what I really like about these cameras is it's just a safety factor, right? It'll stop. It's always recording. If there's an incident, you know, it's always saved on that hard drive or the little SD card. If there's stuff happening at night and you're not around it, it starts recording. It just seems like a kind of no-brainer, safety aspect to a vehicle. And then, you know, the bonus side is you get some cool videos if you just hit that lock button quick enough. - Yeah, yeah. Exactly. - Nice. Austin, any final words to wrap up the show with for everybody out there? - I think it was a great show. So I really appreciate you guys having me. It was a good time. So I appreciate it. - Cool. - Yeah. Thanks for coming on, man. And don't forget everybody out there. - Keep crawling. - Yeah. - Like a pickle? If you want my pickle, do you have a pickle? It's a dill or sweet. Dill. Butter chip or full length. It's a wedge style. - More of a round, maybe. - Okay. - Matt Chunk. - Chunk. - Why did the Cyclopses school get closed? The Cyclopses school. - Yeah. - It got closed. Why? - He didn't have 2020 vision. He couldn't see. He couldn't, I don't know why. - Because he was the only pupil. - No. Okay. - It's not a, not a school for Cyclops. - Wait, no, why did the Cyclops school? Why did the Cyclopses school get closed? - Got it. - Okay. - All right. - Yeah, I got it. - Pupil, like student. - Yep. - Yeah. - He was the only one. - Is the only student? - Yeah. - Yeah. - That's too bad.
