Julian Kat is off on spring break with her family in Texas, and Tyler takes over as co-host for the Never Offside podcast, stepping into "big shoes" with a mix of humor and excitement. The episode features a memorable on-ice moment when their young son, Blake, enthusiastically reacts to a game play, prompting a wave of cheers and laughter—highlighting the joy and unpredictability of family life and hockey. A major storyline centers on a tense emotional moment when the host discovers her husband has been injured by a puck during the game, leading to an on-the-spot medical check and a heartwarming, comical aftermath. The conversation also delves into the close, evolving relationship between Will and Mac, who once had a strained dynamic but now share a playful, friendly bond rooted in shared experiences like soccer games and pranks. The hosts discuss their unique living situation—splitting time between the Marlow and Thorn families—while sharing funny anecdotes about their off-ice antics, including a chaotic golf and cornhole challenge, and a prank involving a mattress in the shower. A fan conspiracy about swapping suits is debunked, and the episode ends with lighthearted reflections on favorite games, cities, and shared hobbies. Amid the chaos, the season’s emotional highs and lows—both on and off the ice—are celebrated, reinforcing the show’s theme of family, humor, and real-life hockey moments. The episode concludes with a look ahead to future seasons and a promise of more laughs, as the hosts prepare to return to the rink and continue their adventures.

(upbeat music) - Welcome to Never Offside with Julian Kat. Today is a very interesting episode. First of its kind, so what's going on, both? - Yeah, I'm on spring break, so no time for the pod this week, sorry, full on buried with the kids, but excited Tyler is stepping in for me. We all have a fun conversation going with Will Smith and Maclin Celeb Rainey. - So surprise, the listeners asked and we said, we got them, we got Will Mac on an episode together before summer hits because it was a little, like we always wanted to get them on the pod, but then as this is the last week of season coming up, we noticed that they might not be able to be together. And their allure is being together. So, I know, I like that. - Ty came in and stepped in as the celebrity co-host for you. He said, he's got big shoes to fill, he told me. So, yep. - Well, he's gonna do great. He's in natural, we watch him. He gives us all the tips 'cause he's always sitting in the pod, he does give us tips, which is very funny. - So spring break, you of all people have earned a spring break. - Yeah, well, I wish I earned a solo adult spring break. - What'd be better, but it's still break. They're still breaking the terms. - They're still breaking and I'm breaking with my husband. So, I have a teammate, I have a co-parent and it's all fantastic. I'm good to enjoy some family time down in Texas. We don't always get to get down there altogether. So, it's really fun. And just crazy, we've wrapped up another season and here we are. Like, it's gonna, I'm gonna have to start thinking of things for Jeff to do around here. - Well, but you wrapped up the season, but it was an eventful last game. So, you were texting me. I kind of wish you were just like posting live for people to see your night of the last game. - It was all happening too fast. So, our last home game was last Monday versus Dallas. In Detroit and I took all the boys, I typically don't take them on a weeknight game 'cause that's just a lot. But being that it was a last home game, you know, I had to go all out. Anyways, I'm majority of the game. I got like so many things happened at this game, but the majority of the game, I'm like chasing Blake around. He's my two year old. And just hilarious, but not because I'm like, oh, I really wanted to watch, you know, a little bit of this game. Unlike Kat, I like to watch some of the games. - Yeah, you actually like to watch. I have all the time in the world to watch. You actually like to. - I actually wish Kat was here 'cause she would walk the concourse with Blake no problem. - Yeah, that would have been fun. Anyways, I finally get him wrangled during the second period and by wrangled, I mean, I sit on the aisle. We have the same seats. I sit on an aisle, which I love. But he found a fun spot right there, just right in the aisle and kept going under the bar. - No, we all like to happen down the bars, right? - Yeah, very dangerous, though. - I'm fine with that. - But we all did it. - Yeah, LCA stairs are very steep, but, you know, I'm doing like the mom like stick my arm out, you know, car seat hold or, you know, seat belt hold. Anyways, the cameraman comes down our aisle and I'm like, oh, and boy, my oldest is with me. So I've got the two bookends with me and boy knows what to do. Every time he sees his camera man, he's like, pump the jersey up, you know. Doesn't, real quick. - Professional. - Yeah, he's a seasoned vet. Oh, speaking of, here's one of the guests. - Another cameo. - What was the question? - Can I actually sleep on a pallet? I'm letting them sleep in my room. - Tonight, you know, spring break, guys. - Yes, spring break, sleepovers. - All the day. - What a theme. - We love sleepovers. - Never outside. - She was being a really awesome mom. - Okay, so he's an idol. - So, boy starts it off. Like, in this is full and starts it off. It's just one of those quick hits that they do in between like, puck drops. So it's like, and then Blake gets on the screen. They pan to him and he turned it on you guys. Like, this kid pumped his jersey where his belly was showing. Which then, okay, cute. Adorable, the whole crowd starts cheering. But then it turns into being like, they pan off of him and the crowd gets quiet. And then they pan back on him. And the crowd starts roaring again. And then he starts roaring. And he's like watching his face. So he's getting more excited. It was hilarious. We will, like, the whole thing, he got a taste of the fame. Oh, he saw it and he let it up. The guy with the headset, he comes up to me. And he's like, our production room is freaking out right now. This kid's a star. Anyways, that was that. But also at the same time, everybody's like, what is Jeff doing on the ice? Like watching, like, is he watching this? Typically, he doesn't like pay attention to the scoreboard and things like that. Yeah, but after the game, I was like, did you see Blakey? And he's like, did I see Blakey? He's like, the whole team is like elbowing me down the bench. Like, we need that video. We need that video, Jeff, looking up and laughing. Oh, he said they were all howling. And it's like, you look at Blake and you can't not smile when you look at him, he put on a show. So that was really cute and fun. That was my fun, light hearted moment of the game. Yep. And then I had another story. Yeah, so this is the text I got that really, that when things took a turn. This is when things took a turn. So long story short, I haven't been feeling my best as of late. I am fine. That let's start with that. I am fine. But I did need to get some things checked out specifically with my heart, and I was debating on going into the hospital or the urgent care just to get my own test run. But being a busy mom and getting prepared for spring break and all the things coming up, I'm like, lots of time for that. Lots going on. So my mom is with me at the game. And she's like, Julie, like this is ridiculous. And then we're talking in our team service lady standing there. And they're like, why don't you just go down and see the team doctor during the game? They're great doctors. Just go down. Yeah. We've had to do that in Montreal to see a kid during the game. Things like that in a pinch, we have that amazing resource. And I just kind of forget about it. So long story long, they take me down to the little examination room at the end of the second intermission. And they get me all, like they do all my blood pressure, all the stuff, and they hook me up to an EKG just real quick. And that's the photo I get. I just get a photo, a selfie on the table. Yeah. So I'm laying there. And this room is the room right off the ice that if anything happens to a player during the game, this is where they run off the bench straight to this room. It opens up. And then every doctor, every medical staff trainer comes in this room to check out the player, get him back on the ice as fast as they can. So the EKG's finishing up. And all of a sudden, the door opens up. It's like code red when something happens. The third period has started. And they're like, oh, wait, wait, wait. Giving me privacy. But then it's no big man with a red jersey. I'm running in the room. And I'm like, oh, my God, oh, my God. I'm like, what? I don't know what's happening. And I see as a 46. And I'm like, oh, my God, my husband. Something has happened to my husband. He's in the medical room. I'm on the gurney. He's standing there spitting blood into the sink. And I'm like, what is happening right now? And he turns around. The doctors are checking out. He got a puck to the face, long story, getting to the point, gets a puck to the face, splits his lip open. He's got to get stitches. So he's sitting in the dental chair. I'm sitting, I'm laying on the gurney, getting the leads taken off my chest. The Pedre family is just in shams. And then they finally realize like, he's got all of his teeth. He just needs a couple of stitches. I like look back at him. And I'm trying to like, I'm trying to go invisible at this point. You know, like, I'm like, what am I doing here? And they're like, you're fine, you're fine. Your EKG actually looks really good. You're good to go. And then they're like, beyond your way. And as I'm walking out, I'm like, trying. And I go, I'm like, puck or a stick. And he's like, puck. And I'm like, are you OK? And he's like, yeah, I'm good. I'm like, are you? And he's like, are you OK? And I'm like, yeah, I'm good. And he's like, all right. Just laugh. Yeah, at that point, at that point, I would have been like, so about the spring break that we're going on. Can we just like drop the kids off with mother on? Well, it was so fun. with laughing like after the fact like the massage therapist was kind of taking care of me after the fact like getting all the leads taken off me and she was like so sweet because she I was freaking out because I was like this I have no business being in here like so thankful that I had this like done and like I can like not worry anymore but then what are the odds that my husband gets to and I'm like well I guess it was better than it was that it was my husband and not some guy on the team is like what the F is he's like doing and that that would be that would be more to fine well you know we don't like normal here at Never Offside so I feel like it was just you know what a finale what a finale like we were we were he came up after that he's like he just is like what's going on like you okay like yeah I'm fine and like all of his teammates like by that point news had spread after the game and everybody's coming to check on me and I'm like oh I'm fine but it was just really funny and I'm glad you both are okay yeah I still think maybe you should just like go on an adult vacation instead yes the funny thing is is when I was walking away like my chest really tightened up after that I was like it's it's the stress of like I just got stressed seeing Jeff and like and I'm like it's just the stress I think so anyways I'm gonna manifest a real vacation after spring break but just hilarious and you can't make it up comedy of errors so that's that's the unhinged part of hockey life sometimes especially with pups flying at their faces you know it's a weird thing to happen at work so so you ask me you know your kids and everything you know Will and Mac their close stage and your kids so yeah that's actually so wild I was I was doing the math and it is always hilarious when you know a veteran's kids are closer in age to players on the team than they are to the actual veterans so super excited for this conversation or I don't even know with Will Mac giggle fast whatever just silliness all around with with you with cat Tyler and Will Smith and Maclin Celebrity that's up next hey everyone add me and Birkin are talking about our great podcast had to call on a special guest host so welcome Tyler you are you're you're ready to go officially got the call got some big shoes to fill here with Julie gone obviously but I got two of my teammates wrangled up here and obviously a lot of fans have been dying to get them on the show so I'll introduce some obviously with Will and McLean what's up boys and so what's up thanks for having us yeah we appreciate it you guys you guys are a little late obviously you kind of filled me briefly but didn't give me the the full rundown what happened there at after the pga store yeah you went on well it was a long day because Matt had to go fix his tooth and then we met for a breakfast a late breakfast and then I was like all right let's go to the pga superstar excited to return a putter and get a different club which that didn't work by the way the way he said it he was like okay let's go to the pga superstar real quick we're gonna I'm just gonna switch this real quick and we're just gonna go to Gucci's thing and then hang out after I was like perfect I'll just hop in with you then it's not what happened I said hey I want to go back to my house and chill out and hang out and goes no let's go do some is all right I gotta turn my putter so then we did that but then we had to go to kuch's press conference so we went there and then so after that I was like all right let's go finish finish this up with the superstores he's like no no I want to go blah blah he's on a bad mood so then I was like all right I'll run in quick so I got my two club and then I was like okay if I want that I need some new grips too on the clubs so I got that he's all frickin pissed in the car so we're pulling out and he punches my windshield and there's a freaking massive circle in my windshield okay okay I mean you're known to do a couple he's known to spaz out a little bit okay we've been I don't know my car he says let's go to pga superstar real quick we end up going back there after kuch's thing he's like I'll be five minutes if ten minutes away I'll be five minutes I'll head home then he gets his clubs re-gripped he's like no no it's just gonna be like 25 minutes let's go grab chipper like man four clock I want to go hold like I want to go chip and then you do the best chipper and then we're gonna we're gonna go so then I went like this okay he went like that to my windshield and then he even say sorry he didn't say sorry because why would I say sorry I'm gonna pee for it so what's the state of the windshield right now like what does it look like it looks like a rock there's a massive circle oh my god he's exaggerating it's insane it looks like a rock hit it and it just like spread a little bit like that's exactly what it looks like so it has to go into the show oh definitely oh my god yeah he could drive with it for a year and a half he'd be fine no and our hands okay yeah I bet I touched the windshield all right so where are we right now we're at the Marlow residence where am I where I live so for people listening that haven't heard this story can you guys just explain your very unique living situation this past season yeah so we're pretty lucky that both the Marlow's and the Thorns are still around and soon as they so I'm living at the Marlow family and they're in their guest house and Max living with the Thorn family so it's pretty cool that we get to still be in that age all but also gotta be with the family aspect of it so where do you guys spend most of your time is it at your place or at we're at jumbo's place oh yeah we're with you okay in the bunk beds no I spent I'll play here yeah most of the time here probably so then you guys are just playing many sticks with patty's kids yeah I'll have to take talk video though at the Thorns yeah the back when you guys are doing the the basketball one yeah that was over what Christmas right yeah yeah I was like right before I posted on Christmas okay so those are like your hockey dad's but I'm sure you've seen the ongoing joke that were your parents and you know the I saw some signs recently I think you saw on the ice I forget where that was but all that you know in reflecting on that it just led me to one question that I have for you too do you guys see Tyler is old yeah yeah okay back as fast I mean yeah I told okay I just told Kat that and she was like I don't I don't even know what the norcers are and then I googled it they went to Dallas in 1993 just outrage it was a funny joke all right it was funny I mean that one was actually funny the other one that like kind of dug deep was when you're saying about my goal celebrations and you're like oh yeah ever since I was a little kid me and my buddy used to tell me so what time and I'm like you can't be saved that four years ago when I was like 12 you were I see a camp and you're and you talk that's right I was going to with burge right yeah I was with I was with burge and and I think I think Kat you were you might have been there too but I don't think you're in it but yeah Mack was the Mack was at the camp yeah it was it took you a little while to to bring that up and tell me though because well you're easy just kind of talk to yeah sometimes you get pretty sure I get Mack because you guys are annoying me sometimes you're looking you go shut up well I had I had to ask think you guys noticed last game Johnny didn't and put me in the middle of you two. And maybe the last two, 'cause I finally, I was finally fed up with Johnny, and then he set me up. - So you actually asked not to sit with us. - I did. - So we played good in Minnesota and then you split it up. - Okay. - Well, I mean, I guess that's the selfie part, the selfie part of me, 'cause I couldn't do it anymore. - Yeah. I mean, it's not, yeah, you're awesome. - I was gonna say how excited were you guys when you guys all got put together? - Well, it's been like that the whole year, so then when we're not together, it's kind of unexpected. - Exactly, exactly. - To one city, I was like, too over from you, and I was like, what's going on? - So you two are always together, obviously. You can't open Instagram or Twitter without seeing that. But Mac, recently you said that you used to not like each other, right? So when did this shift happen? - I mean, it's like any time you play against someone for so long, you kind of build like a robbery or whatever, like I played against them. - When I was at the steel, he was at the National Development Program. I was at BU, he was at BC. Like, I've always played against them, and yeah, you don't really love to guys you're playing against, especially when they lay you up. So. - So when did you give it? - It's not like he was ever hitting you. - Yeah, it's not like he plays physical or anything. - What's that? - No, the opposite. - It's not your game. - Oh, we would, it would be a brand-new show. I mean, it would be a 6-2 in the Hockey's final, so. - No, but I mean, I think once we get to know each other, we met at Ricky Camp in the summer, and then got to know each other a little bit, I think. He was all quiet at the start, and then I all, he opened up real quick. - Oh yeah, weird, 'cause you were probably talking, you probably couldn't get anything out of you. Shut up. - How was it with all the attention that you guys get together, like do you guys like feed off each other when it comes to just the social media people, the sharks are all over you guys. So, like, how's that together? - I think it's good, but I mean, we're like, I mean, it's obviously like a lot of videos of us, like, even before games, so that's actually like, what we're liking, and when the cameras aren't on, so. - Yeah. - Yeah. Where were we, when we had those connecting rooms, two games ago? How were we? - Yeah, Calgary, so we had legit connecting doors, so we had 'em open, and then I had to keep closing mine, 'cause I was scared that they were gonna come in, just bombard my room, so like, they kept theirs open, so every one, every 20, 30 minutes, I'd opened mine, sneak over there for a little bit, and then the game day, I'm trying to take a nap, and they're legit playing, like, 1B1, like, basketball, I can hear them screaming at each other, my entire nap. I had to call them being like, hey, guys, like, just be quiet a little bit, I'm just, all you hear is them, like, in a chokehole, or something. - Thank you. - Yeah, but you scored 30 at that night, so we'll go. - Yeah, no worries, that's all you. - Apple. - When you guys are obviously at home and away from the rink, what other things, sports you guys play, obviously I know, but for the listeners, I mean, I know that we've golfed together a few times, but what else are you guys doing? - The one day, we did, like, if you were seeing a, like, bar stool, like, gauntlet challenge, they do it the office. - Yeah, with the corn hole and then the soccer and all that. - We did them, the Marlos Bagyard one day, with like, yeah. - Oh, yeah, 'cause he has the basketball court back. - We legit did it for three hours. - So what was your guys' times? - Well, we did, like, you had to make two hockey shots, football throw, basketball, golf, and then wipple ball. So we'd get, like, a minute out of that, right? Yeah, I got, like, 45, you got, like, a minute and a half. - No? (laughing) - Me and no. I won't know. - Okay, who's better in general at sports outside of hockey? - Me. Well, he's better at golf 'cause he grew up on a country club. - That's not true at all. - I'm better at soccer. - I mean, I always say max better at soccer, though. - Oh, it's really, it has, like, the one power kick. - Well, I don't believe it. - That's actually the only thing he had. - And sewer, we haven't played actual soccer. - I mean, there's, you can tell. You can tell when someone has it and when someone does it. - Yeah, you can tell. - And Mack has the jeans. - I had the jeans. - No, yeah. Both my parents played soccer. He plays the same style as me and sewer. - What? - No, he has a little too much game to him. - Well, I like putting guys in, I like throwing burgers. - What sound? I was late in Vancouver coming to the soccer game. What was it that happened again? Was it Lily got smoked in the face and then? - Yeah, how about this? I was this guy? - That's sort of a gamer here. - It goes off, like, he. - You were crying. - He's, he's, it's all over, as usual. He comes to him, he boots it at Lily's face. Like boots it right as face, gets Lily out. Next time it goes up, I'm about to catch the ball. And like, 'cause it's like the end of the round. Goody boots one at my face. - And it's pretty good, he goes, oh yeah. That might have been harder than the one I was. - Lily's face. - Hey, so what was, what was harder? One of those kicks or the kick that you booted Sharkey with. - Oh, Sharkey, I tried, like, she might have a concussion still. - That was crazy. Like, did you know how hard you kick that ball? - Well, like I said, as hard as I can, he goes, yeah. So, I'm like, all right, this is my chance. (laughing) - This is my chance. (laughing) - Well, you have a lovely relationship with Sharkey. - Yeah, it's not breaking up. (laughing) - You guys are always beating him up a little bit, so it's pretty funny. But yeah, the soccer, you guys have had some crazy things this whole season with, like, the soccer ball. Like, even what happened in Seattle with that fan that snuck in? - Well, he was hammered. I was hammered, he was playing sewer with us. - Did you know it was a random fan? - Well, as Jersey said, like, zero day sober. - Yeah, but I didn't just spread it, so I thought he was, like, on, like, sobriety train or something, and then, 'cause it's a day sober, and then it was, like, it was a double zero, yeah. - Like, I remember. - So when, when did you find out that it was just a random fan that snuck in that thing? - Well, yeah, I thought to myself, yeah. - We knew he was a random fan, 'cause he just, that came out of nowhere and he's, he came out of the bathroom, I think. He was hammered, like, he's slurring his words. - Did you ask him how we got in there? - No. - He just kind of invited himself in this. - Yeah, well, it's kind of insane. - And you just didn't care. You're, like, let's play, like, whatever. - Well, usually we let some people get a kick, but then, sometimes, people over thin, or welcome, yeah. - How's Taiut soccer? - Roots, yeah, he's brutal. - Okay, they're laughing because I'm for sure top four on the team. - No. - When he's one, when he's one, for sure. - You're not, you're not top eight. What, we can't get into this. - You're not even top eight. - That's all the slides are better than you. I'm better than you. - You just get the call, 'cause you're a vet. - Heck, he is not better than me. - No, heck, he's brutal. He gets out every- - Heck, he's terrible. - He's borderline not even Swedish, but he's like- (laughing) - Okay, so there have been like some, this whole season's been really funny. As you guys is first NHL season, obviously not the best with the Sharps record, but just like the crazy funny things, like this that just happened all season long, it's just been, like, quite ridiculous. So yeah, obviously all that soccer stuff, but we had some other things that came up that we kind of wanted to ask you about. - When you guys went to that Warriors game, and they showed both of you on the screen. - Backlin', they, yeah, sorry, well. Mac, they introduced backlin', but well, you didn't get introduced, so out of, one to 10, how'd you feel for that? - We're really bringing this up. - Yep. - Now I'll give it up, now give it up. I mean, his dad works there, I let him get the, you know, his father. - Were you dying after? Were you making fun of him, like? - We showed up late, I think, or something, I don't know. And then the lady comes up, like the media person or whatever, and said, oh, you're going to a jumbo, like, well, should I get out of this real quick? Or, like, I didn't know what was going on, and the next thing you know, we're up, it was up there, and I was like, oh, it was awkward. - I think what happened was I told my dad, "Hey, can I get a couple tickets for it, "and I'm gonna come to the game." And then he got me the tickets, 'cause it got like around their PR people that like, I was gonna be there, but they didn't know who I was coming with. But then we were saying down there, didn't the first quarter, and I got a shout out, he didn't. - I think that's, hey, that's crazy, that's wild. - I thought enough time would pass that you be laughing now, will you? - Well, we went back, and they got, we were going to do a jumbo and a river, so yeah. - All right, so another funny thing that happened to Maclin, was obviously a couple weeks ago, with the Ranger's bus backing into your car, well, what was your reaction to that? - Well, I didn't know what was going on, 'cause I saw him like, standing on his phone, and then I was like, what is he doing? He's in an all pissing mood or something. We were going somewhere, we just lost six-one. - I think we were going to LA. - Yeah, we were going to LA. - Yeah, LA, we just lost six-one. - Well, you're like, oh, you hit my car, I'm like, who? The bus driver, he's standing right there. (laughing) [BLANK_AUDIO] And like all the fans were like standing right there too right there was so many fans that game too. Yeah. Yeah, it's sold out. Who's vehicle? Do you think got more damage? Obviously with the windshield getting broken today apparently and then will I know you've accidentally bumped into a couple of things. The gate at the rink back to your couple of poles. Broke a windshield broke a tailwind shield. You broke a tail light. Yeah, they just got their licenses. They just got old enough. Oh yeah, Mac, didn't you get yours like a whole tear thing. I don't know. Yeah, always said this though. I mean, we said that I watched the other day. This is ridiculous. This is stupid comment. Like you're blaming me not having a life. I think you were serious. Oh my. You guys don't know how to take a joke. I don't think. Sometimes I forget that you're Canadian, Mac. Yeah. Yeah. He's like kind of a trader though. He went to be you went to play the USHL. You played an LA for a hundred years. I've fully committed that I'm a trader working on the green card. All right. That's insane. There we go. There we go. I've been married for how many years like I'm seven or something. Yeah. Okay, something else. I'm obsessed with this season. I don't know if you guys have seen this, but there's this whole fan conspiracy about you two and your suits. So have you seen that? No, it's that. Okay, so you guys have those suits. I think they're like you have the T01 and you have the gray one and they're kind of similar. They're like checkered almost. There's a fan conspiracy that you guys randomly swap those every once in a while to mess with people. We swap each other's suits. No. That'd be gross. I don't know. Well, we have to debunk the conspiracy. So I guess you just did, which is very upsetting. We both have T01s. We both have gray ones. Oh, so you have matching ones. No, they're different. They look like. Okay, so that's probably where this can speak. A lot of times we show up and we're wearing the same one we didn't talk about. Yeah, we didn't talk about you for sure. Like, hey, I'm going to wear this one today. Yeah, you have to wear it too. Alright, well, that's that's funny. I was actually going to see if I could find pictures of you swapping or whatever, but I guess you just have the same same style. So there you go. How would we do that? I don't know, just to mess with people, you guys are funny and weird. So like, it kind of makes sense. That's just right. Seems like something you two would do. Like, seems like something. Well, guess what? You have one more game tomorrow. So yeah, also obviously the sleepover. Everyone talked about it a billion times over. But congrats, Matt, on your first NHL hat trick. Obviously, my DMs blew up because then you all scored as well. So everyone was asking, I didn't think about that. Well, I get I get the DMs whenever you three move, I get a DM. So honestly, that's that happened after that. So that's what everyone was wondering was, was there a conversation of how to celebrate that night? Well, we lost eight to seven. So we weren't. Yeah, I feel like that was everyone was in such a weird mood because I didn't think about it. That's a name feel like a hockey game. That felt like three on three. It wasn't the same. Yeah, which is crazy. And then I think that's one of, if not flurry's last game to the regular season that he was going to start. So Matt is ruined ruin is ruined is last. And until starting the NHL. We just had his wife on last episode. And I wasn't going to bring up that game and she brought it up for you guys. What did she say? Well, she she was just talking about how like special the game was with like the kids before before on the ice with him. And then she's like, and then I realized the things I won't miss. It was basically you three, you know, light. I asked for one of his sticks because I was like his last game or whatever. Top said he'd never gone one of his sticks. And I was praying that he sent one over. Oh, it could be so. But because I saw one I saw one in in the equipment room, but I think he gave it to rooster or something. Yeah. But I saw it. I'm like, if that's going to back, I'm going to saw it in half. Yeah, back to the age thing that was like the whole game was them just comparing you guys as ages and stuff. So it's pretty funny. But just one more thing with the sleepover. Well, the one thing that I really stuck out when Ty was telling me the story was you trying to take the king mattress into your room from Ty's room. What's the end game going to be there? Well, we've done that before to Delhi. He put his mattress in the shower. This season. Yeah, because he got you guys back yet for doing that, by the way, he started it. Yeah, he did start it. Yeah, but you guys kind of took it. Go back, explain what's the song going prank with Deli. Deli pranked them earlier in the year. Throughout the year that I wish we could talk about, but we can't we can't talk about it. Yeah, then we eventually found out that it was Deli. And then they got him back, put his mattress in the shower, just like tornadoed his room pretty much. And you guys stay at some pretty nice hotels. This is actually in Calgary, too. Yeah, this was in Calgary. The act of like melting up and yeah, it's kind of weird. Yeah, we're scared. We're going to get you back in like 10 years. In like 10 years, something's going to happen. You guys are my ideas back to what we did or nothing. We were at the dinner when we were coming up with ideas. We were talking about stealing his truck. And I was with you at breakfast too. Yeah, I was a little awkward. I don't think it was us. I think we confessed to it. Is this like it? We were just like a talk. Did he say anything to you? Because like we knew he was going to call someone and me when he walked in the room. I think he faced. Yeah, he faced me and me and Connie. Maybe that night. Yeah. I think he knew it was you guys. Like there was. There really wasn't any other. Any other culprit unless I actually would have been funny. It's like I did it and then just blamed it on you guys. Have you guys pranked each other? No, like us two. We were just ganging up on someone. Yeah. You guys are partners or not. We don't go against each other. Just yet. I mean, we messed with each other, but it's not like anything. Because if we were pranking each other the whole year, that'd be a real good. It wouldn't even be enjoyable. Like someone's car would get blown up or something. Like who did that? No windshield, no windows, no roof, no wheels. Like. I mean, you've got all the time in the world to make that eventually a thing. So I feel like. That's funny because that also reminds me of something Thai told me that you guys do in plain sting pong against each other. Yeah, we do that how we do that. Explain the one we had the day off the one day and one of our equipment guys literally out of nowhere to send me a photo of the two of them. And they're back in the welts that they had on their backs. Like I would have been on the IR as well. How long? What do you think they can play? And then like if you're in some guys will like the equipment staff would just come in and like be like, what are you guys doing? Because you're like, they can hear us like screaming. Well, okay, they hurt. Yeah, they go on the ice for like few pox and then we'll come off and then we'll be like sting pong. Yeah. So they turn on music. Or we play ping pong. They were like sting pong. Yeah. But then we go into sting pong and then we're there for like two hours and then our backs are mangled. And then your shoulder hurts from flying so hard. And how long do these like welts last on you guys? Like a day. Like they don't. But they hurt. They do hurt. You guys jump right in the cold dead after and then it's all good. Literally, yeah. It's the only way to make them feel better. So reflecting on the season again as your first season together in the NHL. Has there been any favorite moments? Super name Vancouver. Where was your favorite place to play this year? I mean, I know I hype Chicago up a lot with the anthem and stuff. Obviously Boston. You would have enjoyed going back to Boston, but besides Boston probably like obviously MSG is like. Everyone always says that, but I mean Chicago and anthem. I love Minnesota too and then the bell center. Yeah, Minnesota was love. It was very loud actually. I think the bell center was awesome. Were there any cities you haven't been to yet? I mean, I think a lot of like pretty much every city is like. It's unique and like it's good. Like I like a lot of the cities in the NHL. like good hotels nice ranks like every place every ranks a little bit different but I mean there are a lot of really really cool spots that you wouldn't really think of. Do you guys ever separate for dinners? If we have like family like yeah rarely though. Shifting the next season because obviously Ty has been kind of making fun of me that you guys have making fun of living with us and kicking me out. Fess up what do you what exactly did you say to Tyler? No he said he wanted to kick we didn't say you had to leave. We wanted to make fun of them. They said by Debo Samuel's house and we're gonna live in the guest house. It's literally word for word what they said. Yeah and then you go oh I'll kick Kato so we're gonna have a man. Now you did say that. It came out of the mouth probably. What do you think they have fun on the couch tonight? Yeah literally he's going in that vacuum. He's going in the sauna. I will go in the sauna. Okay so but real realistically what are you guys what's it looking like next season for you to living with? We haven't really we've talked about a little bit but I think we said once the year ends we'll kind of talk about it and see what comes of it. Do you have a favorite area that you hang like in San Jose, Las Gados anywhere? I mean we both really like I mean Las Gados it's nice. We like to go to coffee shops and just like people watch. We do that a lot of days. It's really weird. Yeah not a weird way like enjoy the weather and stuff. That was weird. That was really weird. We do that every day. What? We're like once every couple weeks. We go there every other day. No no we don't. What's your guys favorite restaurant around here? Besides well you guys are doing a pregame at Rolotti sometimes now but Italian brothers all those cafe Rolotti's. Do you sit outside and people watch there? Okay now you're gonna make it sound like it's weird. I'm not watching people he's watching people I don't know what people want. Well me and Tom are go there as people don't know Tom or Jack Thompson. We go there almost every other day. Now that we've brought you to a weird place I do have a weird question for you too. So you know when you look at someone and you can just know right away what animal dog any kind of animal they'd be. What do you see each other as animal wise? Give each other a look and see. Don't say. I know. I know exactly. You say your first. No I'm so I think. Okay. What would what would we'll be? Don't say a donkey. He's like loud and you talk like he just talks all the time loud. His laugh like all that stuff and he's not the brightest so. That's how well it's just how he sounds when he talks. All right so Will's a donkey and max ice. All right so vice versa. Oh I don't even know. Don't say something weird now. Well I don't I'm trying to think like I was going to be nice and give you something nice but not anymore like. There's no nice or not nice. It's just like if I said you were like oh you're a dog that'd be nice but you're not. Maybe like a parrot just because like they can talk a little bit. They're always kind of yapping and like gender and around and like spassing out a little bit. It was a parrot. No it's nice. Okay so you're a donkey. People love donkeys. That's so funny. What would it be? You're a donkey too. Okay. You're far from it. You're like a boy. You get your wild. All right explain explain your strike. Oh my god. I would never say something. I would never say something like that to you. That's insane. Well last one what's that sort of? Jumbo's like a like a golden retriever. He's like a dog. Yeah I really happy all the time. It's a great day. Every day is a great day. Super welcoming, super nice. You know what I mean? So we gave we gave him the one kind of nice one everyone else got. Ty got thrown under the mouse. What sweetest about Ty? Well that's crazy. Well you have something your mom was telling me about every year in Boston. You like it's like your favorite thing of the year that you go back to. It's happening what next week? What is it? The reenactment. Yeah and my town Lexington cruise you get up at like 4 a.m. every morning. Go down there and they'll reenact the the whole battle of Lexington Concord. So the British and the the Minimons. That's pretty cool. Back when I think he should join you. He apps whatever. On the bus other days like oh this is stupidest thing I've ever heard. Oh then he thought he thought the battle Lexington Concord is Lexington my town and then they went back to Concord in England. He thought they were just going back and forth like a home and a what? That's not what I said. That's what he infuriated. It would just take like years at a time and like an old school ship to go back to. I tried to explain it to him. He's like you're not some historian. You don't know what you're talking about. Well I would love to see you both like dressed up in like timepieces together at that thing eventually. That'd be pretty funny. I'm on contact. I'm on Lexington for battling it out. I think we'll start wrapping things up and how we do that is we always ask some quick hitter questions. So I'm going to ask you a bunch of questions so you think of the first things that that comes to mind. So what TV show are you watching together right now? Through much more movies but the tires, Shane Gillis, we were watching that. Yeah. Oh yeah when we ran into him the Super Bowl tie was pumped to send you guys a picture. Yeah I want to be in real. He seems awesome. We got to meet him. He's your favorite comedian probably. Yeah I just think he's an all-around good guy. He just seems like a great guy. Favorite movies you throw on together on the road? Genres. What are we watching? Kind of depends. Sometimes we're getting into like John Wick or comedy. Yeah it's just random. Whatever we're feeling. Yeah whatever we put on. Do we ever throw on like a romcom? Yeah. Yeah. Oh what was the movie? Definitely maybe. Yeah that's a good one. Mac you can answer this. How do we feel about scary movies? I don't like them. I don't like scary movies. Not for you. Yeah I don't really want to get scared. Video game of choice if you guys play together. Yeah PJ. Most used emoji and acted out please. An acted out? Yep. Crying laughing one. Yeah. Cry laughing. So unbranded it's crazy so. Don't even know what that means. Well I actually thought that this would be more of a gig old fast than you guys actually putting real words in this entire interview so for that to be your most used emoji kind of checks out favorite song. Pony by genuine. Singularic. You sing it. I can't remember you have a dance to it. So say no. Yes you do. You know it. You know what song I'm talking about. Yeah yeah. I want to hear. Even that intro. You can just sing that part of that intro. It's like. Yeah I just don't know. I don't know the lyrics. I'm forgetting it right now. Have you ever cooked for each other? No. Unless. Oh how about this time. So looking for food after the game. There's not no. We like get some from the rank but then where I think it's like a Saturday or something. We have Sunday off. We just want to like we went to the grocery store grab a couple of things. They got it. Let's just grab like a small microwave pizza so we can just like throw it in the air like it's pizza in here. Throw in the oven just have a slice. So we go grab it. We put in the oven. We're waiting for it. 23 minutes goes by. It takes it out. And like look say it goes. I think there's a area goes to cut it. And he's like. Where they're supposed to cook it with a cardboard under it. We were like. It looks good though. Can we still eat it? Like because it was like. Looks pretty good. But no we ended up just arguing away. You probably order a lot then. Probably answer this question a bunch, but what's your like cookies order? I'm chocolate chip cookie and I like glass and milk with it. - Great. And do you have a favorite place that you know? Awkward. Do you have a favorite place that you order from? - Well we usually only get what hotel has the best one. - The one in a four-lotter deal. I didn't have that one. We got roommates. - So you're not always roommates? - Depends like if we call up guys or something. Depends. - Finally we'll wrap this up. Your favorite way to spend an off day together? - Probably golfing. Yeah, I was just gonna say golf practice. Yeah, get a nice breakfast and go golf. We have a bite to eat after watching a movie. Maybe hot tub, much movie, something good there. - Love it. Well, thank you guys so much for coming on. Never off side. I'll see you guys at my house shortly.
