I check all the boxes. When you look, it's like, "Yo, bro, out here." Well, he know how to move so good. He's been gone for so long. We make him so special. Just get over it. I'm not-- I was there before. [LAUGHTER] You just let it wait for a little bit. I'm saying, oh, man, uh, I mean, like what the-- [MUSIC PLAYING] Last one to the airport by breakfast. Blind breakfast. Day one, day one. [MUSIC PLAYING] Yeah, what was the first thing you did when you got out? First thing. When we went to the game, went to the judge game. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You went straight to the judge, the same day. The same straight day. I was. The same hour. I sort of got straight there. I see all that. I'm like, oh, you know, the game started wanting to kick off at one o'clock. I was at the kick off, OK. That's crazy. Yeah, I got it. Did they win that game, they won that game? That's what we did. Yeah, see that? Yeah, they did that battle before you pulled up. Yeah, they pulled on for the boys, shot the game green, shot through the judge. They pulled on for me, you know? And then you've been busy, you've been moving around since you've been back. You ain't getting no time to sit, relax, nothing yet. Nah, you know, we ain't doing that even when I do get time to sit, relax, I ain't going to sit, relax. Keep the ball rolling. You know, I can't get complacent. I got to stay hungry, stay on it. So as long as you know, as long as God allowed me to move, allowed me to move my legs, and you know, keep the spunk. I'm going to do what they do. I'm going to move around. I have motion. So when you, when you was in there, what was like keeping you like a flow? Like what was keeping you motivated to do? You know, I'm saying it just to, just to look forward to coming home and all that. I always keep you motivated. It's just my family just getting back going to music again. The music. I'm saying this shit needed, this shit needed, this shit needed restored restoration. 100%. And you know, I kind of like use that as motivation. I was like, yeah, you know, just talking that shit. I wanted to restore the music back to a formal glory. Yeah. You know, I'm saying musical brilliance. And I'm saying at its excellence, I wanted to bring it back there, bring, bring New York back. You know, I'm saying me and friends, we've been working. I've been working. We got the Cosmos dropping on the 24th wave guard tool. Know y'all sort of a little snippet on the ground blowing the fucking gram up or crazy. That song, we just played it before you came. It's crazy. So you do, though, shake it. You been shaking the head of this. You were shaking it in there since I was a, since I was a, you know, I'm saying like real young and like, real young. I'm like, I'm growing up. I'm like, then like, backs was really like, he was on that. And I was watching, I'm like, like, this is like what fused me to have that like that energy, like, you know, this can't fuck with me, like, like, yeah, yeah. For me, like, I'm, I'm untouchable. Like when you listen to max music, you even, you see max, like, interviews, you see it like anything. You just like, damn, he got that energy, like, I'm untouchable. Like, he can't mess with me. Like, I was like, I was telling you, I watched a come up every day when I woke up. I literally watched a come up every day. Every day, I'm like, yeah, this is the motivation I need to continue on with the day, you know? You started vlogging before anyone was even vlogging. Like, what, how did that start? Well, we just was always, I just studied the camera. I knew like, when to be myself on the camera, I knew I always animated, you know, and you just got to give off that confidence man, like he said, you got to give off that energy. And that you want to inspire people. That's what, that's what I go for. I'm trying to uplift the listeners. I'm trying to uplift the fans that fuck with my shit. I want them to feel like I feel, I want them to get up a day, go about, they been, it's like, I do. Why they banging my shit? And I'm saying, pause. And so that's what I'd be going for, you know what I'm saying? That's the shit that's gonna stay with you forever. When you get a certain age, you're gonna be like, yo, man, I used to listen to max back. You know, when I was, when I was young, I used to listen to pop and it did the same shit for me. So that's what I go for, I go for the fail. Messing your name, too, pop, you know, the belly parts and big, 'cause those are the inspirations where they pop big. It makes big pop guys hold for. Mm-hmm. It's just a switch upon a bitch about Poland. [LAUGHTER] So like, obviously like a lot of people, they know the whole, the whole, the whole dips that shit. When that shit happened, and then you realized, yo, I got a bandsaw from really just being my own, like, how was that for you? You knew, you knew obviously you had it. You knew where it took, you knew you had where it took, but like, when you was like, yo, I'm out of here. It's over, like, what was the one thing I feel then? And you're like, yeah, it's about to be the max. So like, man, listen, man, you could, you could either, you could even want the ball. When this clutch time, or you could go, go out under the bed. And I'm saying, I embrace the challenge. It wasn't so much as me against dipset, 'cause you know, I fuck with camp. It wasn't about that. Shot the dipset, by the way, wasn't about that. It was just me, like, all right, can I do this shit by myself? I think I can. Can I start from the ground up? But I'm saying, I think I can. Can I do this shit with really no money in the beginning? So, you know, niggas don't really know the story. How we did? How about even once I wasn't fucking with bro, how I went off and did the domain tour. Me and my bro were half and half 10,000 CDs, dropped the silver surface shit. Probably don't mean to. And we ran through the streets. And I came with the PD3 and dropped the fucking 2.5, man and another baby on the same day. And that's crazy. You talk about mad music, like. Put two tapes out on the same day. I'm just when looped. I'm just was looping up there. Then when you see me on the footage, you know, I'm looking for content daddy pulling out stacks. I was running mad with those stacks. I'm not kidding. Love me not. Big call. Pardon me. I'm saying, "Well, New York shit." So, you could go back to this day. You got some people that, for the first time, they might look and see, like, "Oh shit, bro, it was content. He was trying big of that. Algo rhythm daddy. Back in the day." Where's it though? Where's it though? It's like, "Mm-hmm." And that's another thing too, like, that's like red. That was the real, like, real New York, like. 'Cause a lot of people that's not from New York, they, you know, obviously, they got the, they look at the certain people that represent New York, but I'm like, the big of a veil is like the epitome of a real New York, like, like popping a shit, like popping a shit. And just, like, you know what I'm saying? Just talking to talk. Like, a lot of people look at New York, they think Jay-Z, they think, you know what I'm saying? Like, obviously, they put on, but like, big of a veil is, like, come on, you look at the order vlogs. You look at one of you, like, dance. I guess it's a real, like, it's the authentic, like, this is what New York really is. Like, you go, it's a lot of things. It's like, not even rappers, like, just random people, both inspired by a big of a veil, just the way he carried himself, like, hold on. And that's just what it is, like. Like, he said, he said, algorithm, dad. He said, "Trump, big of a veil, like." (laughing) - What started, like, the music? What was the first inkling that you knew you wanted to do music? - Just when I got great with writing, you know, when I learned how to write, just to practice. - How old was you when you started right now? - Like, 18, 19, when I first went to jail, my first bed. That was like my little way of, you know, escaping, was my solid tool. And I just got nice with writing. And then I learned how to write. Once I learned how to write, you know, I learned how to harmonize with nothing, with no beats, just what I had in me. The music, that was that, whatever was in me. So, you utilize all these sounds, all these music, all these melodies you heard, forever in your life. And they all up and stored up in hand. So, a lot of these producers, some of them use samples, most of them use samples. A lot of them, you know, listen to music as well. So, it helps you identify music better. When the, you can, with identify with the producer. When you hear the producer, you know, it's the music that you know. And he make a beat, and then he use an old sample. You know, it's wrong. - Yeah, both know it's wrong. - Y'all already know what's going on. So, that makes it much better. - That was like you would grease. - That's how I mean grease was. Like, we was like both musically inclined. We both loved the same music, R-O-R-B. We both loved just the same music. And, when you listen to his beats, you don't really know it's him. 'Cause that's how I, you know what I'm saying? Unless he got like a logo, not a logo. Unless he got like a stamp in front of his beat, you won't know it's him. That's how I tell you to grease it. - Mavericks of time. - Mavericks of time. Mavericks of time, got the drum game. Like shit is up. He don't have- the huge name in today's ever, but still and all, he's just musically talented. You can't do that really do too much about it. You can't really go. You can't teach that shit, that's how good he is. He's still cooking up. He's still cooking up, man. Of course, he's cooking up, man. Cosmos, April 24th, wave guard to shot the Dom Martega. So when you made what was your first song that you made, you're like, ah, this is a fucking hit. Like I know I'm good at this shit. I was like, I think when I did like, why you do that or something like that, I was like, yeah, I can really go with this shit. I was nice before that. I did like jeez up all that shit, but when I did, why you do that, I just let me know I can do any type of song, top the bottom, the right way. And I was like, you know what I'm saying, I knew when I made that song, that just inspired me to make another song. I think I made like, I got to have it after that. Like all the big songs dropped that top. It was like all in one sequence. So that was around that time, you know what I'm saying? But that's when I knew I can like really song right to the highest level that I'm saying. So all that came when you obviously was brainstormed to your own shit. Nah, I still was with Umber again and she still was with Jimmy. So like all that shit was in the talk though. Nah, I used to go in there, that's why I was able to, you know, I used to go in there, I'd be the last one in there. So once everybody leave, I could go in there and burn shit real quick at the quick copy, put it in the tub, put the low light mix on it. Because I was just preparing for shit in case I had to go no matter. Cause you're ready. You kind of knew it. That shit was going to go left if I needed to go off dolo at that time, you know, it wasn't it wasn't lucrative, it was just you used it wasn't lucrative, you know, at that time, I just needed to have my shit up cause I was going to put tapes out. You put a lot of tapes out. I would make new music and just go on my stash and take off like two, three of those and just sprinkle them on there and just did that shit the whole time. That's how I was knocking them tapes out. That's a crazy formula right there, that's a different formula cause like, like you said you couldn't even, you could at the time you couldn't even drop a official out with music, right? No, cause I didn't want really one too. Cause the tapes was already. It just didn't want to. It didn't have that feel. I wasn't doing the music for that. I was doing the music just to like, I wanted, I wanted to, I wanted to, I wanted to streak, but I wanted to, I wanted to, I wanted to streak on a world wide level. So when, when did you know like damn, I got the, now I got the streets, I just started from Burger King or the, I got, like Max got the streets now, like around what time or what time, what, what, obviously, you know, like PD, you know, that, that old, I think that old, to me really, I seen something old seven, old seven, some of them when I got out of bed. We did the M.O.D. too. But that next year, that old way, some of them, I was like, yeah, they can't fuck with me. And the two tapes and the, the niggas came back and I hit them with the, the wavy pocket and then I, then I think I dropped quarantine and friends came with the cold wave, things could fuck with us. That was, and then I dropped to PD six and I went to prison. So that run right there was like all in one, one, one, one sequence, you smack and shit. That was like four years and I was like saying, you smack from old seven, I was out for two years. I think from old seven, I put out M.O.D. one. I mean, I moved to, probably no man to, probably no man to three, probably no man to six, probably, no man to five, maybe two, maybe two point five, I put out seven tapes. That's crazy. That's mad music, yeah. Seven tapes. And he's cold wave. He had more than like twenty, twenty, twenty. He's cold wave. Um, take me to the DJ six. I did a lot of tapes, bro. In two years, yeah, I was, yeah, that was two years, I'm bugging, I said, and that's crazy. Seven tapes in two years. So, plus the features, yeah, that's, when you crack it, that's, that's, that's nine, that's work. Yeah, it's going more, going pop up. What, what, when did you feel like music, that's ten, go to school, that's 11. Cold wave, two, that's 12, yeah, that's two years, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12 years. When, when did you feel like the motion started to hit like when it really took off, like was there a moment that you were like, damn, yeah, when I dropped, when we did G's up, yeah, that should have been fast, yeah, G's up was like, next day you were just walking around, there's not. And I came home on bail, I did that M.O.B. too, I dropped domain one in jail, that put the buzz like up, and then I dropped, when I got out on bail, we bailed out, I dropped, we dropped, we were in my studio with the M.O.B. too, that was it right there. M.O.B. That musical display of versatility, greatness on that table alone, fuck, I think it's up. So when you, look it up, M.O.B. too, yeah, and I, I gotta put you on. Well, I mean, you, you have a, put you on, so a lot of, you have a whole playlist, you, he has a playlist on, it's on my iPhone, it's shared, it's, it's, it's the wave emoji, and I be going through that all the time, right, it's like, right, do LA, I'm like, I need to feel it, you know, Mike, Mike really put me on, like he was watching everything, I would go to his house, and I just pull up, he's watching, he's watching, what, what was the name of the vlog? The, I'm telling you to come up, I'm telling you, that's all I say, I used to watch, I'm trying to tell you, bro, that, there's stuff even just like vlogs him in the studio, just, just just every making songs, everything, all of that, bro, even, even the vlogs he was making when he was going to court and all of that, like, he was dropping, galling and warding in, I was watching all of that, bro, like, I'm telling you, bro, that p-clink, so like, when, when you, when you went in, was you, was you able to make music inside and all that, I don't know. Yeah, I was making my studio and all that in there, right myself, kept me sharp, had the mean workstation. You had a studio in, in prison? Yeah, you go, there's a studio, you know, it's just the same. It's whatever you make it. Yeah. I had a studio, I had equipment, I had a nice little workstation, I'm saying I was able to get a mic in there. Would you, were you, were you able to release anything or now, you just have to keep. Yeah, I dropped like four albums from Jeff, house money, he'd go spare of two's, cook away four. I think it was one more Charlie, not a EP, put out single. And they don't say anything that you're releasing, but they just think it's old stuff from what I, like, not old stuff, it was like, it was like a thing. House money was a nice little, back there we didn't do too many roll outs, but we did like a little jail roll out for me for the house money. And then he said, oh, that's tough, 'cause I was like, I was gonna tell, he was having, like, he was, he was putting out mad songs, but he had to be mad, yeah, he had to be mad, low key about it. Yeah, me too though, but not really me, at first, but then like the last two years, I was good, I ain't nobody fuck with me, but I was putting shit out, like, official quality shit, Negroes, pepper juice, Charlie, house money, cook away for all that happened. Four tapes. That's crazy. So when, so what would you say your first, like, official album was? Probably Domain III was all of it, I did, I recorded that as an album, there was no YL's beats on it, and it was all original beats. So that was like the first time I was like, "All right, I want to hand me on "Riginal Jones" boom. There they go. That's why the songs is like that. And I'm saying, "Riginal any season." That's probably don't mean for. That was another, like, un-appreciated album without the market and without the, I'm saying, house money and they go to newspapers. All of them was like, you know, albums. "Riginal beats." Just album structure. Not the big budget behind it. Just putting out the music. That guy that's here today. Not compromising. - So how would you get beats while you were in? You just had people sending you beats while you were inside? - I get them through the J-Pay. - Yeah. - I upload them through the J-Pay. Get my people to upload them through the J-Pay and I buy them off the J-Pay. Probably throw like 100 beats on the joint. Sometime I get off 200 beats. I grab it, pay 15 dollars. I get it loaded to my tablet. And I load the beat or audio wire, loaded it to the workstation. And I got the track, so I just go from there. I really two track it. I can two track it up. Long as I get the two track, I make the reference. And I make a Acapello. It's an Acapello's out. Bro, run them through the EQ. It's just sound like I'm in the studio. - That's crazy, getting that final product back probably sound crazy, like, when you send them the Acapella and he clear it up and you send it back to you, like. - Yeah, that is from me, I'm in the reference too. He got me back in over the beat. I sent him that and then I had a beat going off with the Acapello's for a thing being on a cue. And I just shoot it on and he had to do it. That should have been done. I'd be like, oh, I let's throw it over the phone. Like, yeah, that shit buddy. And I got to wait for it to get back to drop. To get back on the key, I was by the gift. And now I got the album. - Man. - That's a whole crazy process right there. - It must be so much easier now though. You're like, fuck, thank God, I don't have to do that anymore. It was worth it because it's like, you gotta go through all that I remember just waiting for. I remember getting my first piece of equipment. And like, the whole process took the build. My shit took them like a year just to get everything I needed. But once I got it matched to the game, it was good. Once I went back and got the second one. I left the prison came back, had to give all my shit up. Once I came back the second time, I linked up. I know I was good. I could grab some shit on the black market. I made new the pieces with the grab. I was like a master shit. I got it again. It started making waves. - It didn't shock the last two years. I was shocked coming out. - Did you feel the, like when you were inside, did you feel how viral it was going? The motion of all of it while you were inside or was it you kind of had to call someone and let them tell you like, what was that? - No, I was doing shit. Um, like, like, uh, shout the, shout the big cat, call Anthony Towne, like when he wore my shit at the, um, like, at the playoff game and shit, when they played the pace of last year, like he had my supreme join on. - We were at that game, we were at that game, yeah. - So it's press conference he had to join on. So I was just like, on the day, I'm like, oh, look, look at my shit. (laughing) - I'm like, you look, like you're turning BAT. Look, I was like, your big cat got my shit on. - That's hard. - He's looking like, oh shit. Like, you know what I'm saying? And he had it on for a while. He was a thin rag, open in the shirt. Shot the big cat, you know what I'm saying? We was at the game last week. He had a scratch. - He came to New York and he embraced the whole, he embraced like the whole coach. He's like, he was on that. - Yeah, he's like, as he should. Like, he knew where to go though. - Yeah. - He knew where to go. - He knew where to wrap up the fuck with. He knew where all this the fuck was. - He, he, he, he born close to, like close to him. - He's from the front, I think. - I think from, either from the Bronx or Jersey, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, he's from the Bronx. - He might be from the Bronx. - I might have a fucked up. Don't call me on the butt. One of the two. - Let me know where you from, cat, Texatump. (laughs) - So the love, so the love that you was getting when you came back home, like obviously you was getting, you was getting that type of love when, you felt me before you got locked, but like do you feel like it was on a different type of scale now that you came back and, you know, the internet is like a way bigger thing now. And, you know what I'm saying? Like, you going viral, you feel me? Like, you're the club, you do it the walk through it, the club, you going viral for it. You feel me from mad, different stuff. Like, do you think the love was like on a way bigger scale because of the internet? Or do you think it was just on a way bigger scale, just 'cause it's bigger value? - I think it was all those, I think it was 'cause, I came home with the, not that, without that handout, I don't want to hand out mentality. - Mm-hmm. - And that kind of like, drew people more. You know, you come out, one fucker's bringing you money, and I wasn't about that to me. It was just getting out, being around the family. And, you know, if somebody threw me a sandwich, they threw me a sandwich, it was all good, but for the most part, I was like, I was coming out to earn my own keep and get back in position musically. 'Cause now, I could really do it the way I want this shit free bands out here with this internet. Y'all need to know, I know about the algorithm. (laughs) Kind of one of the trend settings for this shit, so it's really nothing to me. I'm gonna make it work. And I'm saying, you already know I'm fresh to, fresh to my, fresh down to my ball sack. (laughs) So, I'm always on camera, it's nothing. I'm, I see, I see, I see, I see. (laughs) Put a new watch, by the way. It's the AP Bricks, shout the Izzy Aviyani. - That's the big, it's the big boy AP. We outside. (laughs) I'm switching up out here. (laughs) - He's not playing with us. - Yeah, he's not playing with us. - When, when, what year did you go away the second time? - Hey, shh, oh not, a blue child, oh not. - So, that was before Instagram, right? - Instagram was out for like a couple months. - Yeah, it just popped, I think Instagram had just came up. - So, I'm talking about like a couple months. - So, Instagram was even out of it. - Facebook was like, yeah, yeah. - Facebook was building traction. - Right. - Oh, Instagram was like, you heard people saying it, but it wasn't really a thing, yeah. - So, you go away, you come back. Now, Instagram and TikTok is pretty much how you promote anything, music. Like, was that kind of a weird switch up? Or you're just like, no, I did, like, this is what I did anyways. - Yeah, that's what I was like, this is what I do anyway. But, I was like, listen. Oh, you got, I just know my product. My product is gonna sell itself. I don't have to do nothing. I just gotta put it out. - Yeah. - And, listen, with my history, and the way people listen to my music, if you're not my fan, and you're just hearing my shit for the first time, you might think you don't like it. - Yeah, that's true, it's like. - So, you're, you're something that happened where it'll run down on you again. FAQs

I started making music around the age of 18 or 19, after going to jail. Writing became my way of escaping, and I learned to write and harmonize with nothing but what I had inside me. Music from my childhood, especially R-O-R-B, inspired me and shaped my style.

My first official album was Domain III, where I recorded all original beats with no YL's beats. It marked the first time I felt I could deliver music with authenticity and originality, setting a foundation for my career.

I had a studio in prison with equipment and a workstation. I received beats through J-Pay, purchased them for $15, and produced tracks by two-tracking and refining the vocals, often sending back references for further work.

My music gained traction through word-of-mouth, especially when big names like Anthony Towne wore my music at events. The internet amplified visibility, and people who initially didn't connect began revisiting my music and recognizing its quality.

My family is a major source of motivation. I’m driven by the desire to restore the music and culture of New York, and the joy of seeing my family and community get back into the music scene.

I listen to and collaborate with artists like Central C, Nine, and ESTG. I also work with 50 Cent, and I’m inspired by the energy of UK and Trinidad dancehall music, which I aim to incorporate into my work.
