The big 10 has won three in a row. My immediate answer to that just thinking off top of my head is no. I don't think this is the year the SEC breaks back through and I think who are the main national title contenders? Last week I came up, I agree with who said it, Joe Klatte, who said there are seven teams that can win it, but I added an eighth. What if I'm thinking logically? I think there are five real deal elite big time national championship contenders and I think three of them are in the big 10. I think Oregon, Ohio State, Indiana, and out of the big 10. I think Georgia, Texas, out of the SEC. You go to seven. I add no name. I add Miami. Those are seven bona fide big time national title contenders. Again, I got two in the SEC three in the big 10. I got an Oregon team who's hungry who's never done it before. I got an Ohio State team and Indiana team who have done it before. So I've got both of those things weighing on me. Now I got over here. I got Georgia and Texas. Texas never done it before. Georgia hadn't done it in what four years now, five years. That's not a very long time. But they know how to do it. I can add Oklahoma because I think Oklahoma's national title contender. But if you ask me to bet Georgia, Texas or Oregon, Indiana, Ohio State, I believe I'm going to be safe in betting Oregon, Indiana, Ohio State. So my gut reaction is no. This is not the year the SEC breaks back through and wins a national championship. All right, Brown Walker. What are your thoughts on that? Very, very quickly. Give me your 12 second thoughts on that. Very quickly. I think I'm Ryan with Georgia, all year this year, I know how this ends. Mike Bobo's going to make me a depressed man in January. Yeah. I like Georgia. I just, the, the, the wow factor of the athletes isn't what it was in 2022. It's good. But it's just not, they don't pop off the page and pop off the screen like they did in 2022. I don't see, I don't see La Mcconkey, I don't see George Pickens defensively. They got some dudes in the back end, especially, but where are the past rushers? It's supposed to scare me to death. I don't see. I think defensively they're going to scare you at that this year offensively Mike Bobo's got figured out. Brown Walker number two. Yes. This is the year Notre Dame gets back to the top of the mountain. Meaning when's the national title? I would say no, I may, I say, may I say, may I say something? There's a microphone here and I spent dozens of dollars on the set. I, I don't know that I believe in Marcus Freeman's ability to break through faster than say a damn landing or faster than say Steve Sarkeesian. I think he has done a good job of stabilizing that program and, and keeping them up in the mix. But last year they had a two game season and lost both games. They gave up 41 points to Marcel Reed at home in order to miss the playoff. They lost to Miami on the road, sure. But that's, they had a two game season and they blew it. And then outside of the year they did play for a national title, shout out to them. They have some inexplicable losses in his tenure there. And I'm not sure I'm ready to to say he is one of the elite of the elite of the elite coaches. Now, I say that, knowing full well, he's got the talent in the quarterback to make me look stupid this year. So I'll put it out there. I don't believe he's the guy to do it. I also said that about Kirk's and Eddie, they're defending national champs. So there you go. Your five second take on that Liam. Thank you to our most recent super chatter. Okay, so I know we got quarterback issues in Lubbock and they will say, no, oh, we got the same guy. We got a guy. Yeah, if you had a good time. guy you wouldn't have absolutely tried to move mountains to get another guy. You wouldn't have absolutely stared down the NCAA and said, no, we're going to play our guy and then you backed off. Here's what I think about the big 12. I think there's 16 teams. I think 15 of them think they're going to be really good this year, whether they're right or they're wrong, 15 of them think they're going to be pretty good. I think Texas Tech is the best throughout the entire roster, BYU is probably second, but I don't know that I saw anything out of BYU and both times they got a chance to Texas Tech last year to make me believe they can beat them. I don't think Oklahoma State added enough in the interim to beat them. I don't think Arizona has enough to beat them. I like Houston a lot. I don't think they have enough to beat Texas Tech when it counts. So no, this is not the year someone other than Texas Tech wins a big 12. They go back to back and win the big 12 once again. That's what I say. That's what I think. Texas one, one whole big, big 12 championship, yeah, but it was the last one. And that team is kind of the team that's going to be going at it again. Number four, Liam. Does Miami finally win the ACC? If Miami doesn't win the ACC, I'm almost struggling to put together an if in this scenario because I cannot see any confluence of events. It's up in anything but Miami won the ACC. Now maybe this is one of those stupid years where Clemson makes us think they're not very good and they come out of nowhere and they're just great. Maybe this is one of those years where Louisville with the easy schedule gets every break and they win it. And yeah, Miami was by far and away the best team in the ACC last year. It wasn't even close and they didn't win the conference. So Miami is kind of figured out a way to be great without winning the ACC, which is bizarre. But yeah, they, yes, they win it. There's no way, Liam, if they don't win it, who wins it? That's what I was going to ask you. The only answer in my opinion is that's right. No, I'm not an SMU guy like I am an SMU guy by I'm not an SMU believer. I don't believe in Kevin James like people believe in Kevin James. Here's the problem to to to win the ACC over Miami. You're going to have to beat Miami in the ACC championship game. I don't see it. I don't see if there's much on the schedule that's going to keep them out of that game. It's not like last year when Duke didn't have to beat him. I don't think it's going to be maybe a miracle happens and you've got Virginia Duke again in the ACC championship. Maybe you got Louisville SMU rematching in the championship game. But I don't see a world where two ACC teams beat Miami and they missed the title game again. I they're they're too good. They're too loaded. They're too everything to not win this version of the ACC. That that sentence was eerily similar to what we said about Clemson last year. Yeah. No, that's mainly just that does Miami shoot themselves in the foot question or not. I thought I thought Clemson was going to absolutely boat race the ACC last year. I thought they were going to absolutely smoke them. I thought this was the best Clemson team in a while and then they immediately fall on their face. Now we're hearing it with Jayden Maiva and we know map my office good, but every single year it's man. If he had this defense last year, boy, they've got dudes on defense now. Man, have you seen the defense USC has an every single fucking year, every single year. We show up to play actual games and the defense is paper soft. It is then the quarterback is good, but he can't keep up in 45 35 games every single week. I believe we can rally is a good offensive coach. I believe Jayden Maiva is probably a top five quarterback in this country. I will not believe that the USC defense is ready to turn them into a 10 win playoff team. I just can't do it. Are you there? Can you do it? I, I don't think we're making a big enough deal about the six game stretch that USC plays in the middle and the me and potatoes of the season. Go. Who is it? They're hosting organ. I don't think he's got the roster good enough to be Georgia yet. He does have the roster. Maybe where it could be. But not in Tuscaloosa. So I'm going to say no. I would give them a 10 no I'll give them a 4% chance to beat in Georgia. And a 32% chance of beating Alabama. That's where I that's where I would be what what do you think? I want to put you on the spot right now. If Auburn does beat Alabama's that's the last game count to Bore ever coaches at Alabama. Yes. All right. I agree. Unless they're 11 to know and it doesn't hurt them in the grand scheme of things. But if it were to cost them a playoff spot or if it were even worse, it takes them to 9-3, 8-4. And they lose Auburn at home for the first year coach in Atlas College. It would be very, very, very hard. They don't fuck around in Alabama. They don't fuck around with 8-4. If a mod hearty rushes for 1700 yards this year, Missouri wins nine games and he has a story of getting shot in the offseason and being great, he is going to be a hard, hard, hard player to beat in Heisman. Q1 Lacey and Mark Fletcher are the other two top three running backs in this country. Both of them have somebody in their way. With Mark Fletcher, he's got Dary and Mensa and Malachi Tony in his way. If they're dominant, I think those guys are going to have the flash of your plays the bigger moments than Mark Fletcher. Q1 Lacey has Trinidad Chambers in his way. He also doesn't have the coaching he has last year. So if Ole Miss does go 11 and one and has a Heisman contender, it's probably Trinidad Chambers not Q1 Lacey. That's why I'm mod hearty. Missouri is going as he goes. Therefore, he could be the running back to win the Heisman. Who am I missing? Who is out there? Maybe the guy Louisville? I think half to be saving, but if I were to choose a player that I think of when I think of college football, probably say Tintiba. Just curious about. Thanks. Is it wild to say the all-time face of college football is the Highsman Trophy? Is that a ridiculous thing to say? I know that's not a player. I know it's not a coach, but when I think Highsman, when I think college football, I just think that trophy. I just think that and I know that's nobody actually remembers the man. They only remember the trophy. That's the immediate thing that came to my mind. I don't think there's one player that sits on top of the sport as far as all of history goes, and I don't think there's one coach that sits on top. And I would say Sabin would be less than like Bear Brian anyway. So that's what I think. I think it's more a collection of helmets and logos like Michigan's helmet, Penn State's helmet, Alabama's, you know, stuff like that. Of course, it's it's former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III joining us right now is RG-3. Are you are you in the big 12? Are you in the AAC? Where are you at in the world right now? Oh man, listen, I am in Estonia right now. My wife is Estonian. We come over here every summer and it's our last trip before the season starts. So we're grinding. We're grinding over here. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And when you say it's a little trip, you'll be there what six or seven weeks. You'll be back by week five of the college football season, right? No, it's about a two week trip. Yeah. But I want to say congratulations to you though. Really? On the new football show. I'm excited for you, man. Thank you very much. I appreciate that. Now, RG-3 has been on the AAC a couple times on Barstool. And he's always sat next to me. And every single time he's on, we have the most ridiculous conversations. And I just remember looking over, I remember looking over at RG-3 and thinking, you're better than this man. You don't need to be here for this shit. And that's that's what I remember about RG-3. Is that how you remember your AAC appearances? No, I would say that you guys are fun to be around. Yeah. And you can never take yourself too seriously. So that is one thing that that I feel like I, I think I do decent job of and having fun with you guys is always a good time. Well, let's talk some football because you are, you know, Heisman Trophy went in, you've been around the game. You know exactly what you're talking about. I want to ask individually, as we go into the season, who are some guys you're looking at? Who are some individual players that you're looking at? Because you all, the season that you won the Heisman Trophy, you know, you all in that season. Who, who do you think could own this season of college football? Oh, I think, you know, I'll give you, I'll give you three guys. All right. One, I'll say Dante Moore. Sure. And the reason I say that is, they've got a lot of returning starters coming back. Offensively, they're going to be extremely healthy at receiver, which they were not last year. And Dante Moore, to me, is a guy that is a lot better than people think he is. He's a much better athlete than people given credit for. I remember calling a game for their organ late in the year against Minnesota. And Dante Moore had to run faster that season than their entire football team except for their fastest wide receiver. He had run like 22 miles per hour. And I don't think he's looked at in that way. And I think he's got a chance to change that narrative this year with the supporting cast that he has. But also, I think everyone's expecting them to be in the national championship game or at least be vying for it, you know, late in the season. Number two, I'll give you the obvious one, archmaning. I think everybody tried to crown him last year, Brennan, before he'd ever played. And I understood it. He's got a manning, you know, name on his back. But I actually thought last year, he showed his championship DNA. And I know like he hasn't won any championships. I kind of got a trouble for saying that. Not really in trouble. Just like internet gangsters got upset that I said that about Kevin Clark that she has championship DNA. But he actually, he liked most guys would have folded with what he went through last year. Crowned undercut. They start three and two. And then he went they went seven out of the last eight. And they get 20 touchdowns and 200ceptions in the last eight games of the year. And I think he's earned some of the praise this year. And the last one is a guy that right now, even though this guy is going to get on the field this year, he'll be honest with you. His name is Jermaine Bishop, wide receiver at Texas. Okay. This guy, listen, they got Ryan Wingo. I know they got Cam Coleman. They got a slew of guys. Was it mostly that are playing in front of him? He's a five star freshman, played both ways from Willis High School in Texas. It's literally right down the street from where I live in Texas. This guy had 1,940 receiving yards, 424 Russian yards. He threw three touchdowns. He's a part returner and a kick returner. And he's been the rave of the town in spring ball and in the fall camp so far for the Texas Longorns. He is my sleeper. And it's probably because I don't know how much they're going to get him the ball. But Texas fans are going to love this guy. And if he plays the way that he that he's shown that he can, he will be a high-spin candidate at some point in his college football career. Okay. Well, we just found out Jermaine Bishop is RG3's cousin. So thank you. Thank you for shouting out your cousin. No, no, no, no, I like that. I like that off the beaten path one because everybody's talking about, you know, Dante Mori, everybody's talking about Arch. Give me a little Jermaine Bishop every now and then. Give me somebody who's kind of, you know, buried in a depth chart that might break through at some point. You actually talked about a couple of guys that I wanted to talk about more. Arch, you kind of, you kind of covered Arch. We don't have to talk about Arch, but I got some thoughts on Dante Mori. I want to throw him at you and I want to see how you react to my thoughts. I think Dante Mori is a guy who, when, when they have the talent advantage last year and when when they were the better team, he looked very good and he looked great. But as soon as that defense on the other side was really good, like against Penn State, against Iowa, against Indiana, his level of play dropped really considerably. Now I don't have that big of a problem with it because quarterbacks mature and get better throughout the years. So as long as he fixes that this year fine, but I just can't shake that playoff game against Indiana. His first pass is a pick six. Is that a, is that a reasonable concern? Or should I just shut up about it? It's a reasonable concern. I called multiple games for Dante Mori and Oregon last year. And we had those conversations. I think what you said at the beginning of quarterbacks grow and develop over time. Look at Dante Moore when he was at UCLA. Like that guy wouldn't have even bit to the coach ball playoff, right? It goes to work and he debuffs for a year night plays. And what I think the difference for him in those big time games when the talent is, you know, one A, one A, his legs have to become a bigger part of his game. You talk about that Penn State game. Well, how did they come out on top in that? Because there's legs, the scrambling ability. So I think for him, when he gets in those situations, he has to just play football and you'll hear me say that a bunch. Sometimes there's quarterbacks, we try to make the perfect play, make the perfect pass shown we can throw from the pocket. But if you're blessed with a unique ability, you have to use that in those moments because then it makes it true 11 on 11 football. So I do think it's a reasonable concern and I think you can rewrite that narrative this year and I think you will. I really do. I'm glad you said the phrase rewriting narrative, because I want to, I want to ask about a couple of guys that need to do that. Last year we come into the offseason and everything is about Lenore sellers at South Carolina and everything's about DJ Lagway at Florida. And these are guys that now one has moved on. Legway has moved on from Florida and then sellers are still there at South Carolina. But these are guys that everybody had the highest hype for and for whatever reason their teams and their individual performances didn't rise to the level we thought they might. What would you say to a guy that needs to, needs to bounce back like that? What's the blueprint for bouncing back and are they capable of it? Yeah, one, I'll say they are both capable of bouncing back. I'll start with DJ, you know, he's that Baylor, it's my alma mater. And the Baylor bears are going to, they're going to swim or sink based off how DJ Lagway plays. And when I had my conversation with him and he was contemplating different places, you know, Florida State, Kentucky, all these other places. You know, my advice to him was you want to go somewhere where it is on your back. You know, you want to go somewhere where they're going to, you know, they're going to go as you go. And as you can say, you can do that anywhere. But at Baylor who has struggled, right? DJ Lagway's got a lot on his plate right now, right? He's got David Randolph job. He's on the line on this year. He's got his career and his potential to be in the first round pick. If not, and I think that's where you want to be. He's in an offense with, with what's our guy's name there? Damn, I'm blanking on the offensive coordinator's name right now. But yeah, you knew your cousin's name though. There you go. No, shut up. Spabb it all. Spabb it all is the perfect offense for DJ. It's what he ran in high school. They're going to throw the ball around. He might get 40, 45 attempts per game. Yeah. And one thing about DJ that disappeared at Florida was his, was his ability to run. And I think they missed that. And I think he'll have that back this year. He's healthy, he's healthier than he's ever been. He said is the school that his dad played at, right? He's got all that on his plate. You look at the Norse sellers. I think the two best things that these guys did was DJ transferred back home and the North State. The Norse was going to be, they're going to say that he was going to be the next Anthony Richardson if he went to the draft. And because Anthony Richardson didn't pan out, I don't want to say that. It's not over for him yet. Well, because it didn't pan out the way they wanted it too early on, it was going to hurt him if he went into the draft. He's a physical freak. You know, he's got the height weight, the speed, the arm strength. I just think he is another guy that if it requires him to run for 350 yards, he has to do it. That, that, I don't know how much I can say that to you, Brennan. Stop trying to prove things to people and just go win football games. Candy Newton didn't throw for 400 yards every time he was out there. He just went to go win football games and won a national championship. Go get it done. Don't worry about anything else. And I think that's where the Norse has to change his mindset to bounce back and have a great year. Yeah, I love that. I love that idea because so often we get concerned about the future and we get concerned about what I got to show the pros this or it's not the player saying it is people telling the player you better show them that you can throw the out route. You better show them you can throw this. Well, how about you better make sure you go beat Kentucky like like that? That's the number one thing that they're actually looking for. And then they'll fill in the gaps later. They're not, they're not drafted losers. Brandon, you know, they don't want losers. Vernatam and Dozen probably wasn't the most gifted athlete, probably not the strongest arm, but he went 16 and won a national championship. That's why his number one pick. You know how I know they don't draft losers? I never got drafted. What does that tell you? All right, I got a couple questions here. Hey, where's your husband trophy? There's transfer Josh Hoover from TCU to Indiana. Uh, that's the world we live in. That's the world we live in now. Everybody is getting paid. Everybody's free to go anywhere they want to go. And I like that. Take this era back 20 years. Would you have left Baylor? You think, would you've considered leaving Baylor? Um, I can't say no. First and foremost, everything paying out the way I was supposed to pay now. Sure, sure, sure, thank you for that. I've told the story before, but um, my freshman year at Baylor, we played against Texas. Going to halftime. It's 20 to 20. This is the Texas team that was like number one in the nation, Colt McCoy quarter back. And we're in that time. Blolo Baylor kind of giving them a run for their money. Now they ended up winning 42 to 20. We didn't score in a second half. But after the game, um, Mac Brown approached me at midfield and he told me, Hey, we're really messed up with recruiting you. And if you want to transfer to Texas, we'll take you right now. So he, he, he pits that to me at the end of the game. Um, you know, I kind of just, you know, laughed it off state of Baylor and we did what we did. But who's to say that if that was to happen in this area of college football, that they wouldn't have thrown 10 million my way and said, Hey, you should, you should come over to Texas. And I think that is the primary thing that all these young athletes are struggling with because they're tossing around big amounts of money. Um, and I wasn't a well to do kid, you know, as a poor kid growing up. Um, so yeah, if Texas had thrown 10 million to me back then in the, in the day, yeah, I probably would have transferred. And that's, and that's just the, just the God on his truth. I'm thankful that I have my career that we had at Baylor. We able to do everything that we did. But it's a different, it's a different area. And I don't, I don't hold it against the young men who do end up transferring because that's just the name of the game right now. Yeah. And then people will be like, yeah, kids aren't loyal anymore. They're just looking for the next dollar. Yeah. You know, who else is looking for the next dollar every single person in America. That's how it works. I'll tell you what, Texas, you went off from me 10 million right now. I'll transfer my ass out of the studio right now. And I'll come down there to Austin. Uh, here's a, here's a fun question. Uh, I tell you that you can start your college career over again tomorrow. Which college, current college coach do you think you would fit best with? Oh, that's, I mean, that's a great question. Holy cow. That's a great fucking question, dude. That's a great question. Oh, thank you. Yeah. I'm going to, I'm going to go with Kurt Signetti. And the reason I say this is, I want to be coach hard. Right. When I was in college, Coach Arboros coached me hard. He used to tune me out in front of the team. Uh, literally just to prove a point. And it made me better, right? They changed my throw motion when I was in college. They changed the way that I processed the game taught me taught me more about what I could be and that what they believed I could be. And I think that's what Kurt Signetti does. Who, who would have told you that last year Indiana would have won the national championship with a quarterback from Kyle that no one really wanted when he was coming out of high school. Yeah. In Fernando, Mendoza. And he gets to Indiana and somehow somewhere Kurt Signetti puts together a system that allows him to become a hyzen trophy winner in the first pick in the draft. That to me is what every quarterback should want. The issue with Kurt Signetti is that he always takes transfers. So if I was a high schooler, maybe if I was the five star, you know, most dominant player in the country, maybe he would take me and start me, but a Kurt Signetti does typically take older guys that have experience. And that's why I'm so fascinated with what's going to happen with Josh Hoover, a guy who's throwing the ball to the another team a lot. You would, I would say kind of reminds me of Rex Grocery. I don't. Rex was going to keep both teams in the game. Josh had played throughout his college career, but I think limiting his throws, they're not going to throw the ball 35 times a game. And the kid is talented. He can throw it all over the yard. So I'm looking forward to seeing how he how he develops under very significant. But that'll be my pick right now. All right. I don't know if you saw it, but at Mississippi State, there's a quarterback, his name is Camario Taylor. It's from Knoxby County. It's 15 minutes south of where I was where I grew up. But what I need you to do, Brandon, because you can't premature celebrate at games because last year, don't get up now, don't get up. I saw it happen and I was like, man, you just, you got to keep your calm. Keep your calm. And when Camarillo's out there ballin, don't go run it down the sideline, you know, basically guaranteed you got the victory. And I promise you guys have a great year. Let me ask you a question. Am I not supposed to get excited when my team is scoring points? Am I not supposed to get excited when when we're beating Texas by 17 points in the fourth quarter? And the reason I ran down the sidelines is we had a 70 yard catch and run for a touchdown. I was at the line of scrimmage. They throw the little ball on the flat and he takes off. And I'm like, where's he going? Let me go see where he's going. I had to go see. So am I not supposed to get excited, RG3, tell me that. That's when you, that's when you get those what they call this reason cold takes. Trust me, I've been there too, right? I've, I've celebrated prematurely and it kind of bites you in the butt. But I would say you guys have a team and you have a quarterback that could take you guys places that you haven't been quite some time. So I actually do believe in camaraderie. It's just a little evergreen content here, but what was the loudest stadium you ever played in in college football? Ooh, that is great. It's kind of shocking to a lot of people, but the loudest stadium I ever played in, and I think it might be because new eager, you know, like you haven't put on a pair of like Bose headphones, and the music just sounds better. It's crisper, right? You know what I mean? But like then when you get other ones, it's, you know, it's just the same old thing, but your ears adjust. So when I first got to college, I played at Yukon, and Yukon was a top 15 team at the time. It was the sideline was like two feet from the dang field, and that to me was a loudest stadium I've ever played in. I'm actually on record having said that years ago, and people like, what do you mean you played at Texas? You played at text saying, and you you you've played it at Texas Tech. You've played in in Jerry's world and all these places. But when I let me tell you when that sideline is that close and they got some liquor in them and their team was great. Yukon was by far one of a lot of stadiums I've ever played in. I totally forgot, dude. I forgot your own record saying that. I used to have a producer on this show called Jack Mackers, a Yukon guy, and he talked about you saying that all the time, and I forgot. I'm so stupid. Now he's just going to see it again, and this is ridiculous. Anyway, RG3, former Highsman winner for, you know, I don't have to introduce RG3. He's the best.
