Who Should You Buy & Sell Before Week 4? Fantasy Football RB & QB Trade Advice (Ep. 2227)
46m 55s
Burger King launches a revamped chicken nugget line, emphasizing improved texture and flavor, with a new limited-time sauce. In parallel, the Fantasy Pros Football Podcast analyzes fantasy football trades, focusing on running backs and quarterbacks. The discussion highlights the Eagles’ inconsistent offense and their struggles against strong defenses, particularly in their recent loss to the Bears. Running back Bayshel Tootin is praised for steady performance and upward trajectory, making him a top-tier buy, while Chase Brown is seen as a medium-buy with improved schedule opportunities. Other running backs like David Montgomery are recommended for sale due to poor efficiency and declining role. Quarterbacks are assessed with Kyler Murray being a strong buy due to favorable matchups, and Justin Herbert being a clear sell due to poor performance and lack of progress. The episode also touches on trade strategies involving players like Blake Corum and Jacori Kroski, emphasizing value and upside. The core takeaway is that players with consistent production, positive matchups, and clear improvement paths are ideal for acquisition, while those with declining performance should be traded or cut. The podcast concludes with a reminder of upcoming content on wide receivers and tight ends, and promotes Xero as a tool for small business financial management.

Hello, everybody.
Welcome into the Fantasy Pros Football Podcast.
I'm Brian Wormley, joined by Andrew Erickson on this Tuesday morning.
We are talking some buys and sells.
Running backs and quarterbacks edition.
We have split the show into two for those who have seen it in the past.
So this episode will be a little bit shorter.
It'll be just focused on running backs and quarterbacks.
Then the follow-up episode,
it'll be on the wide receivers and tight ends.
You'll still get it all together,
just not in the same spot split into two different episodes.
Erickson, how are you doing here into week four?
Excited.
Breaking down more of these buys and sells for the trade market.
Interesting Monday night football game we're coming off of where Case Keenum,
you know, that line never really made sense to me in terms of why is it only the Bears?
I think it closed around three points.
And this is why.
Because the Bears just demolished Philadelphia.
Eagles, despite the fact that they're playing their third string quarterback, Case Keenum.
But it just goes to show that coaching matters.
And Ben Johnson, what he was, he was able to cook up this week against the Vic Fangio defense that we thought was good has not really been that good through first three weeks of the season.
Eagles fans.
I mean, Mike Mayer, how are we feeling with the Eagles three, three games where I believe they're Owen three against the spread, let the commanders hang around.
They almost lost to the tight ends and then obviously losing here on Monday night football against the Chicago.
Bears who, man, they were able to do a lot of things offensively.
Colston Loveland almost scored a touchdown, but of course he didn't because why would we have nice things happen to us?
But Luther Burden, again, very productive.
And I guess Kalief Raymond is just going to be a thing all year worm.
I guess that's like really the big, the big main takeaway where no, this is not a Fugazi with him because he just continues to produce in this offense, six catches, 90 yards and another touchdown.
Obviously Burden led the way with the Bears.
So.
Those are my initial reactions to the game.
We just saw him on it at football.
What about you?
Yeah, it's interesting.
Like it's one of those, like how long into the season until you just admit, like, you know, a Kalief Raymond is a thing.
Like how long into year 10 of a guy's career do you need to decide?
Oh, he's actually really good.
I don't know what the answer to that is.
He, he did go to the medical tent during the game.
He came, he came back into the game, but just to mention that.
Yeah, this is another one of the.
Like, so as you know, I play softball this time of year and we have double headers on Mondays.
So for a couple more weeks, I won't be able to watch all of Monday night football.
I did catch the, uh, most of the second half of this one.
By the time we got to like the fourth quarter, it was basically like this game is a foregone conclusion.
And it, the, the, you know, it just felt like everybody was running out the clock at that point, at that point, basically.
It's funny.
Cause if you had told me before the game that the Bears were going to win by 20, I would have said, oh, Deandre Swift and common guy ran all over them.
Like that is clearly the path to this happening.
That isn't what happened.
There was a very funny post we put on our betting pros, Instagram and Tik TOK shots to Tyler behind the scenes.
We put it together of the scene in top gun Maverick, where Maverick Tom Cruise's character is kind of being the old man flying against all the young kids in the sky and the training session.
And he's just absolutely toasting them in their training period.
And, uh, that was basically what happened here.
Case Keenum, the old vet just kind of comes back onto the field first time in a while and just is roasting the other team.
He looked awesome.
That was kind of fun to see.
Uh, from him and I'm sure it was really enjoyable for him and for Ben Johnson.
I, I think the bigger takeaway for me here is just Eagles related.
Like, like it's less, what level of excitement is there for the bears in fantasy and more what level of concern is there for the Eagles?
Like Saquon isn't bad.
He averaged five and a half yards per carry, but like the offensive line, isn't that good?
They're not scoring a lot of points.
So he's not getting a lot of touchdown opportunities.
Jalen hurts obviously has been like pretty up and down the season and a lot of down, frankly.
Like I said, I'm not a fan of the Eagles.
I'm not a fan of the Eagles.
I feel like Devontae Smith is really good, but just like not a lot of needle movers on this team in a way that I expected there to be more of them, Erickson.
Yeah.
We haven't really seen this Eagles offense take off yet in the Sean Mannion era.
Now it's only three games in and there's always time to improve, but we have not really seen this hurts throwing over the middle of the field operation work where that's something that was obviously going to be a big change with this offense.
And it has not come to fruition.
Now, do you want to layer on the kind of weird game scenario that happened last night?
If you didn't watch the game, so Jalen hurts had to be checked in the medical blue tent because he took a hit and they had to double check to make sure he didn't get a concussion.
Didn't look like a guy concussion, but from upstairs, they said, Hey, we got to protect the players.
So that forced Andy Dalton into the game at, I believe the one yard line right at the goal.
And of course, on his one pass attempt, he gets picked off.
And Nick Sirianni is like freaking out on the sidelines because he wanted to get Jalen hurts back in the game, obviously, because when you have hurts and you're at the one yard line, that's the play you want.
There's a certain.
Play that you want to run more often than not, that usually results in a touchdown.
So I think that did kind of shift how that game was played.
Obviously what the bears did offensively, the Eagles didn't have anything to stop them.
But I think maybe we could have got a much closer game had hurts not had to miss that play and Dalton got intercepted.
But overall, yeah, bears dominated.
I think the fact that their defense was able to do this.
I don't know.
That's more about their defense.
Maybe being a little bit better.
I mean, two straight weeks.
I get the weather was a big factor in the Vikings game, but the Vikings offense.
Did not necessarily look amazing against the bears.
And obviously this game as well.
The Eagles offense did not take off in any way, shape or form.
So maybe the bears defense, maybe not totally buns cheeks.
At least they played better the last two weeks.
So those are some of the other takeaways for me.
I mean, Barkley, just before we get off this game, is he a sell candidate where you're just looking at like, hey, coming off a OK game.
Obviously, it's a primetime spot, but still 15 carries for 82 yards.
No receiving to be like, again, another game where he's not involved in the passing game.
One catch for negative two yards on two targets.
I feel like he has name equity and he's not coming off like a totally terrible game.
Obviously, the 82 rushing yards.
But would he be a sell high candidate or just a sell candidate?
Because you can probably get a decent chunk for a Barkley, especially if to our manager that needs a running back.
First of all, this is the second straight show where we're describing somebody as not be very good.
You have said buns and cheeks.
You keep being unable to decide between the two.
I think.
Saquon is a very, very solidified hold.
I don't know if I would rather buy or sell.
And to me, that's a good sign.
Like, like the buying would be not based on anything we've seen this year.
Just be based on the name value and the equity and trust that this organization has built up over time.
They're not showing it right now.
But on principle, I sort of get the case for buying Saquon low right now.
I also get the case for selling off of, you know, one of it's basically the same game he had in week one.
But, you know, pseudo best game of the season and trying to just kind of get out while there is still some of that name rent.
I get that case, too.
So to me, I kind of split the difference.
It just I feel like he's a hold right now for me.
Yeah.
Other notes as well.
So burden scored a touchdown on like a pitch pass.
I actually look like a rushing attempt on first walk.
But it actually was credited as a pass.
Raymond ripped off a big play to score his touchdown.
Loveland was down to basically the one yard line.
So he almost scored.
And then Roman Dunes, I dropped a touchdown where it was right in his.
Red basket case came to me like this great throw and a dunes.
They bottled it.
So those are the other updates from from Monday night.
Let's jump into our running back.
So we are definitely looking to buy here.
We'll start with whoever you have on the list.
I need to pull it back up.
OK, yes, I remember now who you're talking about.
Who are you looking to buy right now?
Erickson.
He was my buy after week one.
It's Bayshel Tootin for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
I just like what I've seen out of two and over the first three weeks of the season.
Now hasn't popped off any of these like insanely big games, but just been really, really steady.
This last game against the New England Patriots rushed 15 times for 73 yards.
Also scored a touchdown.
Shout out to Trevor Lawrence for taking the knee so that Bayshel Tootin's fantasy majors
could get the end zone touchdown.
So also had two catches for 17 yards on two targets.
So we're starting to see him just continue to put together solid outings week after week,
but not to a point where he's untouchable in terms of looking to.
Acquire him with a trade.
You look at this matchup on the road in week four against Cincinnati Bengals.
Who do we just see?
Just go off against Cincinnati, Jalen Warren, right?
Having a career game against this type of defense.
You have the Eagles.
That's the week five matchup.
How good are they?
How good is their defense remains to be seen.
So it's not like the schedule that is pushing the narrative for me to buy to, but just the
fact that I think that he's a really good player.
And he's kind of checking off the boxes of what I look like for a year to break out at the running
back position.
It's not perfect.
Chris Rodriguez still kind of shows up when it comes to red zone and third and short.
So that's going to be something that to nest to deal with kind of all year.
But when it comes to who's ripping off big runs, who is involved in the passing game
and who still does see some red zone equity in an offense that we're really excited about,
I feel like baseball too.
And not enough people are talking about what this guy could potentially be for the rest
of the season as a worst, a top 24 running back, if not potentially top 15, if he starts
getting some better matches.
ups, more involved in the passing game. So again, last week, 48% snap share top jack.
Jacksonville's running back room by a wired margin and I just don't think I've seen anything
from Chris Rodriguez that suggests to me that oh Tootin is like gonna lose his job like I feel
threatened by Chris Rodriguez Laquan Allen Amir Abdullah any of these guys it's Tootin's backfield
and I think it's been really clear for the first three weeks and the coaches have echoed that
they are continuing to see him build off strong week after strong week and eventually that's
going to end up creating and cultivating into a massive performance for Tootin you said you know
definitely inside top 24 possibly inside top 15 he's sort of splitting that difference he's rb18
right now in the consensus rest of season rankings on fantasypros.com I feel like that's a pretty
fair ranking I wonder where you have him more specifically like the names ahead of him obviously
Brees Hall is injury related so maybe he'll move down depending on how long that quad injury
actually lingers that's like Bucky Irving or Marion Hampton if you still want to hold out hope
Jeremiah Love who looked good last week DeAndre Swift Kyron Williams
that's moving up so like I don't feel like a lot of those names I want to make an impassioned
case for him being ahead of and then behind him you know Cam Scadaboo Chuba Hubbard that feels
like the right names to be near and then beyond that it's like he's clearly ahead of you know
David Montgomery Travion Henderson Jalen Warren he just mentioned I feel like Quinshawn Judkins
so to me like 20th is about the lowest you could have him but I feel like maybe 16th or 17th is
about the highest the back half of that 15 to 20 range feels like the right spot to me where you
have him ranked?
I'm trying to pull up my rankings right now but my internet is not cooperating with me and to help
the YouTube watchers not have me go through a serious lag I have him somewhere in that range
right top 18 etc range I think that I have him ahead of Hampton at this point because I've seen
enough of this Chargers offense where Hampton has no role in the receiving game and I would rather
much take a shot on another second year running back that through the first three weeks who's
been better right not even
not even close it's been Bayshall Toon in my opinion overall Marion Hampton so I think that's
an opportunity where you could flip a player where Hampton obviously comes with higher draft equity
and draft capital and he hasn't been terrible in every single game he's played but Toon I think is
just the trajectory is trending up and I want to get on the tugboat before he pops which could
easily be here in week four if you get the bad Bengals defense for a second straight week
I don't disagree with Toon
as a pick here to be clear just to push back a little bit I would also just point out like
I guess I kind of would have expected a bigger day against the Patriots with how much they were up
as long in that game as they were up like you would think okay lean on the run to to wind down
the clock and you know if he didn't if Trevor Lords didn't go down at the one we're looking
at a game where he had like 70 yards no touchdown while the team was leading by a ton do you feel
like you're talking about this being an offense that you're excited about if this ends up being
like if this is more of a passing game offense than a running game offense and he's sort of
splitting work with Rodriguez and closing out games then are you a little nervous that like
he's going to be a touchdown dependent because he has kind of been touchdown dependent to have a
ceiling so far this season it's only three games you know I know you mentioned like the two catcher
17 yards he's had five total targets this season so it's not like it's been a ton of usage in the
has been between 65 and 73 rushing yards in each game so the two games where he's been inside the
top 12 of the position and half PPR scoring is because he's gotten into the red zone or assuming
into the end zone the game where he wasn't where he was outside the top 24 was the game he didn't
score a touchdown so like not that he's touchdown or bust but does he feel like touchdown or bust
relative to having a ceiling week to week to you I think that's a good way to spin it I don't think
he's going to have these top 12 types of weeks unless he probably scores because yeah his
receiving is not amazing it's enough to kind of get by again two catches here for 17 yards on two
targets but it's still clearly ahead of the other guys on the rock like Chris Rodriguez is a total
zero in the receiving game under on his catching prop is free money every single week if the books
continue to post 0.5 reception for Chris Rodriguez because he never catches passes so I'm just
expecting that his yardage is going to continue to be stable I mean the fact that he's rushed for
what you said 65 yards in three straight games I'd be kind of curious to see what other running
season and every single game hit at least 65 rushing yards besides probably most of the elite
guys and then baseball too would probably be thrown into that conversation which I think is
kind of interesting but I don't think the touchdowns are going to go away because he does
still see chances in the red zone and although this game he did not get the garbage time running
out the clock type of usage he did he did see that workload in week one with the Cleveland Browns
so it's not like it's out of his range of outcomes or out of his role where he won't
see carries in fourth quarter to run out the clock on some of these battered
you know worst defenses and worst teams so I just like what I've seen from the players so far this
year and I think right now he's not viewed as this untouchable asset where so many teams need
running back help like this is a player I want to go for especially if you have a lot of receivers
right you have receivers popping off on your bench who can I flip to maybe get a running back
I think tootin is that guy for me yeah I think it's fair let's go to my uh my running back to
buy I actually sort of had two names here Erickson I want you to help me pick who's the
better one one is higher up in the rankings a bigger name the other one is a lot lower in the
rankings the higher up ranking one is Chase Brown and he's somebody who is ranked inside the top 10
in the consensus rest of season rankings he's RB9 I really just wanted to kind of highlight him and
I actually messaged you last night when I was working on this sheet and said I don't really
want to buy a lot of running backs right now I feel like a it's just not that exciting of a position
outside of the names that nobody would be willing to trade and b the the market prices at least when
it says rest of season rankings seem pretty fair to me that's that's also true of Chase Brown but
the reason I want to bring him up is that I really feel like we've been seeing his floor so far this
season he's been and this is in half PPR scoring RB14 RB22 and RB30 in the first three games but
I'm not worried about the usage I'm not worried about this offense long term there's going to be
I think some touchdown regression to the mean he only has one so far this season that was back in
week one I just feel like I like the Bengals are a good offense and I don't think they're going to
I think the touchdown opportunities are going to come he has 16 carries in week one 20 in week two
13 in week three he has 13 targets on the season including six and five respectively in the first
two games I just think the point totals are going to be higher going forward it's also been a really
tough start to the season in terms of the defenses that they've been playing now a team like Houston
hasn't been as good as maybe as we expected them to be but you look from a running back schedule
standpoint first four weeks obviously the fourth one
hasn't happened yet for first four weeks Tampa Bay at Houston at Pittsburgh and then Jacksonville
this week that is as tough of a run out against against you know a run defenses as you might have
imagined any running back could have this season and I think the fact that he has this Jags game
coming up plays into your favor if you're trying to buy him you can say look he's struggled against
three teams already if you drafted him you probably took him really high like early second round and
therefore he's carrying a lot of weight for your team if your team is one and two or oh and three
you might be like man can we have
to have one of our best players going up against another really tough run defense in Jacksonville
I think that plays into your favor if you're trying to buy him but really this is a buy medium
right it's not a buy high or a buy low I just kind of think you what we've seen with given the
usage and the offense that he's in is more of his floor and the schedule lightens up the rest of the
season after week four it's not the easiest schedule of all time it's not a whole bunch of
like you know cakewalk defenses but it's a lot easier compared to again Bucks at Houston at Steelers
Jacksonville I don't know why I was mixing up mascots and and city names there um but the point
is that I think the schedule does look a lot easier going forward and I think it's just a good player
who's going to continue to get really good usage so that's my Chase Brown case why don't you react
to that before I give you the case for the other player I love this call by you I'm glad that it
came to you last night when you're putting the show sheet together that oh I need to advocate
for buying Chase Brown I talked about Chase Brown on the trade live stream last week for a lot of
the reasons you outlined where he's had tough matchups to start the year but he's not going to
be able to play he has still been productive the touchdowns have not been there for him but we know
this offense especially as the season progresses starts to cook so I think that Chase Brown is
definitely one of these medium buy players where he's just not super top of mind and I think for me
it's always going back to players that we know can achieve top tier fantasy status which we saw from
last year with Chase Brown but they're not top of mine because the production hasn't been there so
far this year so if the Chase Brown manager in your league isn't happy with what Chase Brown's
been doing then yeah I think that there's definitely a case to be made where he can be bought
not by low per se but hey he's acquirable like like he's attainable which a lot of times when
if you try to strike up a trade for like Jameer Gibbs or B.J. Robinson they're just going to be
like no I don't want I don't want to trade my elite player so Chase Brown obviously has not
ascended to that elite status so far this season but you kind of laid out the reasons why things
are going to improve as the season progresses which I could not agree with more the Bengals
have one of the easiest schedules in the NFL remainder of the season so I think that's going to
be one of the easiest in the season that was what when we were looking at a lot of the betting stuff
in the offseason that was one thing that really pointed out to me but we knew that it was going
to be more back loaded than front loaded after we looked at the opening schedule so I also would add
into that smudge up here and did get banged up towards the end of the last game the Bengals
played and if for some reason this injury is worse then you could see Chase Brown's role really
skyrocket because we know that he's kind of stuck in this seventy percent thirty percent snap share
here on plays a lot on third downs but to your point about listing off how good brown has still
been and involved he's
been in the passing game, it's because they throw it to him on early downs. So it's not really
hurting him that he doesn't play every single snap, doesn't play on third downs, but it would
be a major boost if P. Ryan were to miss time or something along those lines. So I agree, Chase
Brown, always a buy. If you own a small business, you know that dealing with the books is part of

Like, I wonder if that's just the best approach because I wonder
what you could actually get back for Price right now.
And I also do kind of laugh, like,
is Mike McDonald watching what Ken Walker is doing
now that he has been unleashed?
Like, maybe that should be a sign of, like, a lesson learned.
Oh, maybe we were wrong to have this guy in the committee.
And not that Jadarian Price is Kenneth Walker,
but, you know, I like him.
I think he's a good runner.
I wish they would kind of learn their lesson there.
But, yeah, what do you think you can actually get for Price right now?
You can get Blake Corum.
Especially after Blake Corum's bad game.
Who has more upside?
Right?
We've seen the Seattle backfield before is capped, right?
It takes an injury to a player like Zach Charbonnet
to unleash Kenneth Walker.
That's where the ceiling play was last year.
You can make the same argument where if Kyron were to go down,
Blake Corum would be smash.
Do a top five type of fantasy ceiling.
There'd be no hesitation.
Whereas he'd be like RB8 the first week of as a starter.
Exactly.
And although this last game for Corum was not great,
they relied a lot more on Kyron Williams.
The first two weeks of seeing Blake Corum,
was excellent.
And he was, I would say,
producing just alongside a player like a Jadarian Price,
despite the fact that he was operating as the clear-cut RB2.
So, I feel like Corum is an interesting guy
that you could potentially flip for Price
because he's not the starting running back on his team.
But the contingent upside with him is very good.
And obviously, he has shown at least through two of three games
that he does have some standalone value as well.
Whereas with Price,
I feel like we're just trending in the wrong direction with him.
And even though his stock is pretty good,
he has suppressed a little bit.
I don't see the path at the end of the tunnel where,
oh, well, now he's just going to take over all the red zone opportunities.
I don't think that's going to happen.
That doesn't seem like it's going to be happening here in 2026
because they love Charbonnet.
And if they did trust him in the red zone,
I feel like they would have already used him there.
Whereas they have been electing to play guys
like Emmanuel Wilson and George Helani.
So, that's where I look at Price as.
That's the Price probably.
Or you just do one of these running back wide receiver type of trades
where you can,
you can flip them to a team that really needs a running back.
Again, Devon Achan,
the Brees Hall manager.
Maybe Jadarian Price is one of these teams
that you can use as a trade target.
My running back to sell,
David Montgomery.
And I'm kicking myself for not selling him after week one.
Honestly, when he had the three touchdowns,
that would have been the time to do it.
It just is not.
This run game is totally non-existent for Houston right now.
You know, he has averaged yards per carry in his three games.
Three, 1.7.
And then three again.
He has not topped 60 yards in a game.
That was week one.
He hasn't topped 33 yards in a game since then.
Obviously, he hasn't scored a touchdown since that week one explosion, too.
It just feels like this offensive line is not working.
This running game is not well designed.
And he looks older and less efficient.
And I don't know that he's totally cooked,
but he is 29 and has been in the NFL for a long time.
So, I just want to kind of get out
and hope that the combination of
it's only been two games since he was just RB6 on the week in week one,
that maybe that's still in the back of the mind of the manager you're talking to.
And also, anybody you're trading with can look and say,
oh, well, his next two games are Dallas and Tennessee.
So, you can sort of use that as part of a selling point in trading him
and say, hey, look, he's getting these two-choice matchups coming up,
and I can't deal with that anymore,
but I'm willing to give them up
and you can take advantage of these two matchups coming up here.
I think Dallas, too, might be a sneakier, worse matchup than you think
just based on the defense.
Their secondary is so banged up.
They don't have enough players to be in their defensive backfield right now
that if I'm a team facing them, I would try to throw.
Not that the run defense is anything special,
but that pass defense is going to be a non-starter for them
until they start getting healthier.
So, I don't know that this is going to be some great rushing matchup for him.
Anyway, but somebody can look at that matchup
when you're trying to trade away David Montgomery and say,
oh, Dallas, that's a great matchup coming up.
I don't even think it's that good relative to what this reputation might be.
So, I say all that to say, even if you're selling a little bit low here,
I think it's just time to cut bait with David Montgomery.
David Montgomery is the guy you send to the trade with the paragraph about,
hey, by the way, you know that they're facing the Dallas Cowboys
and this other choice matchup here.
So, this is definitely why you want to take them off my hands, the Tennessee Titans.
So, I think that's…
That's the spirited way to do it, Worm.
We'll see if it actually pans out in terms of trying to sell David Montgomery.
I agree with you.
We should have been more bullish on the got to sell him after the three touchdowns
because it was…
The proof is in the pudding, right?
With 20 carries for 60 yards in that game,
the efficiency for him has been putrid.
2.8 yards per carry, third lowest mark among qualified rushers this year.
It's actually worse than Woody Marks, which is also at three yards per carry,
which also signals this offensive line is not creating opportunities for these running backs
to get…
To get yardage.
So, both guys are struggling in terms of efficiency.
Montgomery has a 24.3% rushing success rate.
That is the second lowest among all running backs this season.
And one thing to note as well,
the one saving grace with Montgomery has been,
well, he's the goal lineback.
He's the red zone guy.
Well, last week, Woody Marks was the guy that got the opportunity at the goal line
and not Dave Montgomery.
So, Marks, you didn't even really mention him,
but he's a thorn in the side of Dave Montgomery.
Like, he's involved a lot, especially as a pass catcher out of the back
field with the Texans playing in some negative game scripts.
So, we have not gotten the Dave Montgomery workhorse role
like maybe some people thought we were going to see in Houston this year
after they signed him or traded for him from the Detroit Lions
because it's a committee, it's a split,
and even if he is on the 60-40 side of that,
clearly that has not been enough if he doesn't have the touchdown.
So, yeah, I think that you're just putting him on the block,
seeing what you can get.
If you can't get anything, you wait.
You hope he pops off against Dallas, but then you remind yourselves like,
no, I'm still looking to try to trade Dave Montgomery
even if he has another three-touchdown game against Dallas
if that's in his range of outcomes.
So, I agree with you that maybe we missed the boat,
but hey, we still want to be sellers of Dave Montgomery.
I want to make a point here before we move on
that me selling Dave Montgomery is not me endorsing buying Woody Marks.
I would stay away from this backfield in general.
Woody Marks has 65 total rushing yards this season,
and outside of week two, he has two total targets.
Like, yes, he did get the touchdown.
This week, and I'm glad you brought him up.
I'm not saying that it was bad to do that,
but to me, that's more what he's taking away from Montgomery
and less like, oh, go out and buy Woody Marks.
That to me would not be worth it.
Let's get to the quarterbacks here, Eric.
So, you've got one to buy and one to sell.
Why don't you do them together here and move through them a little quickly?
Yeah, so Kyler Murray is going to be my quarterback to buy here,
and that's because he faces the Miami Dolphins this week.
I mean, it's really. Short and sweet as that gets the New Orleans Saints in week five.
So, you have some positive matchups coming up for him
where he is not coming off a game that I think many of us were impressed by,
but it has to go with the context that he did lose his number one wide receiver
seven snaps into the game.
So, he didn't have Justin Jefferson.
He did able to pop off some big plays with Jordan Addison
as the number one wide receiver in the Vikings offense after Jefferson left.
It looks like Jefferson still has a chance to play in week four
against the Miami Dolphins.
So, I don't think it gets easier than. Kyler Murray as a streaming quarterback.
As a quarterback, you can acquire really, really cheap
versus a player that I want to get rid of,
and that would be Justin Herbert, right?
I'm still holding out hope because Drake May was my buy low last week.
So, I'm not going to put him on the sell.
You can also listen to the Tailgate show
where we kind of just talk about how bad Drake May has been.
Trust me.
I know how bad he's been.
Watched all the games.
And yeah, it's as bad as the numbers would suggest,
but Justin Herbert has also been equally as buns cheeks,
however you want to describe it, as Drake May.
Maybe not technically.
Definitely as bad, but in terms of fantasy production,
I mean, it has been non-existent.
And we talked about this on the Tailgate show,
but I am more hopeful that the Patriots can turn it around
based on their schedule versus the Chargers
that we've talked about on a number of different shows,
just an absolute gauntlet.
And it starts this week against the Seattle Seahawks
where I just don't know how this Chargers office
is going to get on track, especially with Justin Herbert.
So, considering how many different quarterbacks
you can access right now in your fantasy leagues,
whether it's through trade or through waivers,
I think right now Herbert needs to go to the waiver wire.
So, he's my sell for me.
Not even a sell that you can trade him.
It's more just, you just got to drop him
because there are just so many other quarterbacks.
And you can't continue to keep playing him,
hoping that things will turn around
when there's no proof of concept
that he's actually going to work in this Mike McDaniel offense,
which has just been outright putrid
for the first three weeks of the season.
Yeah, you know, it's what, like, a lot of,
there's been a lot of talk about, like,
could the Chargers go 0-9?
Look how tough the schedule gets.
To me, I've, I had,
it always kind of felt like,
well, if they're losing a lot of these games,
that might mean some garbage time points.
It actually might not be the worst thing for fantasy
for Herbert.
He's going to be forced to throw more.
But there, it's, it's not just that they're facing teams
that you think they're going to lose to.
You're facing really good defenses, man,
at Seattle this week,
home against Denver, at Kansas City.
Then after the bye week,
they're at Los Angeles Rams,
where the Rams, like,
maybe Miles Garrett is back in that game.
Like, and then you get Houston.
Maybe they figured it out by then.
Then, then Baltimore.
I mean, like, again,
everybody knows how tough the schedule is,
but specifically,
specifically the defenses on the schedule are brutal.
So would you,
I was going to say,
would you trade Herbert straight up for Kyler?
Do you think that is doable?
I don't know.
I mean, Kyler's not coming off a monster game.
So perhaps there is a window
where you could potentially buy that.
And Herbert has more of that name cache,
obviously a quarterback that people drafted
in their fantasy drafts.
But I mean,
most of the time quarterback for quarterback trades.
Don't, I don't know a lot of leagues I'm in.
You don't usually see quarterback trades,
really that often.
So for me, this was
was just like go through the jugular just cut Herbert pick up Kyler Murray I know that he's
still floating around on some waiver wires and because again you can't always trade quarterback
so for me this sell advice for him is more like just cut him because I don't see a scenario where
you're going to feel confident about playing Justin Herbert anytime soon whereas Kyler dude
you're starting this week man week four and then if he plays well you'll feel confident playing him
against the Saints in a dome setting and then they have a week six bye week so especially with the
Jefferson thing trending in the positive direction having him is a big boost for Kyler because dude
this Dolphins defense man dude the secondary is so bad just up and down the entire roster any
quarterback can do anything against that defense and that's going to include Kyler Murray on Sunday
yeah it's it's a non-functional NFL defense uh yeah Herbert is looking like maybe my probably
my single biggest miss of the uh entire I yeah I liked Herbert a lot too so that stuff is something
that right now so my three my three main quarterbacks were Herbert
I had the same three as you I know exactly you're gonna say it was Herbert Caleb Williams and Trevor
Lawrence and those are my three most targeted quarterbacks by a mile and Trevor is looking
like the best of the bunch by a mile I mean Caleb obviously just the injury but yeah I mean where is
uh where's Herbert in the rest of season rankings he has dropped to QB 15 would you rather have him
or Bryce Young I think I I think I think on principle
I think on principle I'd rather have uh Herbert uh also like Bryson appears to be fine but he is
like he did undergo imaging yesterday yeah I did yeah yeah just to mention that uh I would still
rather have Herbert I I don't love saying it if I'm being honest oh Bryson plays the Lions this week
so uh by Siller hole do a couple of running back ones here quickly and then get out of here
uh and and again reminder for everybody these are not ranking these three it is you have to pick one
that you are treating as a buy at their current market value one is a sell one is a hold Bucky
Irving Chuba Hubbard Jeremiah Love again Bucky Irving Chuba Hubbard Jeremiah Love by Seller Hold
I want to buy Jeremiah Love just coming off a his best game as a NFL pro really kind of dusted
Tyler I was here in terms of the backfield usage and he looked great so I think that he's now on
track to kind of finish as that back end fantasy RB1 like we traditionally see from guys that are
taken with his type of draft capital and finally the Cardinals are kind of like hey enough of this
Algiers stuff let's unleash our first round top five pick and Jeremiah Love so he's going to be
my buy I think Chuba Hubbard is just a really solid hold right now again I was wrong that was
my biggest L from week one of the trade show was selling Hubbard high because of Jonathan Brooks
right now Hubbard is just like a locked and loaded bell cow and it's funny the last two weeks this
dude has run so cold when it comes to penalties like he's had like a bunch of extra production
that has just been evaporated into the ether because of plays being called back through
penalty so his production has actually been much better the last two weeks and that's not to say it
hasn't even really been that bad like he's seeing all the backfield touches for the Carolina Panthers
gets the Lions this week so Chuba Hubbard is going to be my hold and then Bucky Irving is my sell
I think that the Buccaneers in general in the beyond the waiver wire piece that I wrote for
week four I just said sell bucks because I think that this ship is taken on water man and there is
nowhere in sight of this boat being rescued because Baker Mayfield's out for three weeks they
were already the worst offense in the NFL EPA per play Buccaneers dead last in the entire NFL bottom
10 and yards per play passing yards per game just a lot of the advanced metrics Bucky has been the
one kind of like silver
aligning with the offense from a hole but even last week split snaps closer with Kenneth Gainwell
so I just have no faith that Zach Robinson and what they're doing with this offense is going to
be anywhere near productive even if Baker comes back it doesn't matter they were bad when he was
there and now you have jail and Daniels as the quarterback so uh jump ship for the Buccaneers
players and yes of course I'm going to make that pun because the Buccaneers Pirates Etc but yeah
jump ship yeah that the ship has sailed so we are selling something
there uh let's do another uh buy seller hold here Blake quorum jacori kroski Merritt Aaron Jones you
mentioned a couple of these guys earlier in the show Blake quorum jacori kroski Merritt Aaron Jones
yeah I think for me it's going to be to sell high on Aaron Jones presuming that you don't need wins
right now I I think that just this work that he's seeing is very unsustainable and Jordan Mason is
going to come back so in a vacuum Aaron Jones is a pretty typical sell high candidate jacori kroski
might hold I was impressed by the way that he was used last week and he was another one of these
players that had a really big play that was wiped off the board because of a penalty and if you put
that penalty or if you put that run that he had it was like a big I remember exactly how many yards
it was like 48 yards or something like that but it like dramatically changes his final box score
which was otherwise just garbage right where he did not see a lot of production I think that he
actually averaged under two yards per carry by the final stat line but when you add that big play-in
that was really due to a legal shift it wasn't one of these penalties that was oh it was a holding
penalty that opened up the run like no like the penalty had nothing to do with the play but just
a bad run for kroski Merritt and the fact that he was still working ahead of Rashad White against the
Seattle Seahawks defense so I think that he would be my hole for me because he's got some good
matchups I believe coming up great he's got the Colts this week so that's a great Colts and Giants
are the next two for him so he's definitely the hole for me um so just don't worry about like the
lack of production this past week he'll he'll bounce back and then Blake Corum would probably be
my buy right just been a player that the first two weeks of the season really really good coming
off a game week three not so good it's the Broncos defense but we know his upside if something were
happening to Kyron and he had his own standalone value the last two games he's just a really good
running back and a really good player and you just want to get those types of players on your
team so corn would be my buy for cheap I think you could make the case for switching kroski Merritt
and quorum and saying quorum's the hold because you do need the injury for him to really hit his
swelling whereas kroski Merritt like what would we be saying about him if that running County he'd
be at 20 carries 80 plus yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks like I think would be really
impressed about Bill so I I'm not saying that like that one run should just change how we view
him entirely but I think that stat line would obviously look way different if he had gotten that
and again particularly against the team that it came against I think he's worth buying because
I think anybody looking at his his production this year would say oh he's been under four yards per
carry in every game he only has one touchdown we're not that big believers in the offense we
think this is more of a fluky win against Seattle than something sustainable long term I think that
that's the type of thing you might hear people say so to me he feels like pretty affordable
whereas quorum is like such an upside play that like I actually don't know like I feel like I feel
like crossing Merritt might be cheaper but he can help you sooner than quorum because quorum is like
quorum will contribute without an injury but he won't be a superstar without an injury
if that makes sense I would agree with that and to uh a note that you had made earlier when we were
talking about Hampton in the last couple weeks I did I did list Bill as my cell last week so I
could not just capitulate and be like well now he's a buy even though that is I kind of agree
with everything you were saying about his price and that's why I went to hold because it's like
week to week right it's like one week is a buy next week we hold and then in the week three we
capitulate and sell yeah uh don't forget about our weekly trade live stream
