Who Should You Be Worried About? Collins, Henry, Chase Brown, & More! (10/26 Fantasy Football Podcast)

The transcript blends a promotional segment for Hymns, a health and wellness platform, with deep fantasy football analysis. It begins by introducing Hymns as a tool for personal confidence and health, encouraging users to take control of their well-being through personalized care. The main content focuses on fantasy football, reviewing recent games like Seattle’s dominant 20–3 win over Kansas City, where the Chiefs faced issues due to injuries and a lack of offensive rhythm. Key players like Garrett Wilson, Nico Collins, and Chase Brown are analyzed, with some showing flashes of talent and others struggling with consistency or targets. Rookie wide receivers such as Omar Cooper Jr. and Zay Flowers stand out due to their after-catch performance and fantasy points, especially in high-opportunity situations. The discussion also highlights emerging trends, including the rise of Cam Skataboo as a key running back for the Giants and concerns about roster stability due to injuries. Fantasy managers are advised to approach matchups with caution, particularly against elite defenses like those of the Vikings or Bears. The podcast emphasizes advanced metrics, usage patterns, and injury risks, ultimately underscoring that success in fantasy football requires deeper analysis beyond simple box scores. While some players show significant potential, others remain inconsistent, making strategic decisions essential. The narrative concludes with a consistent theme: confidence and preparation—whether in health or football—are built through informed action and awareness.

We go deeper on the one big question you haven't heard answered. Or maybe, haven't even heard ask. Follow and listen wherever you get your podcasts. It's time to dominate your fantasy lead. Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath. What's up, and welcome to the show. We're going beyond the box for today. We're recapping Seattle's thrashing of Kansas City 20 to 3. We're talking about the players that we were talking about last night that everybody's freaked out about. Garrett Wilson, Nico Collins, Derek Henry, Chase Brown. What's going on with them? What's going on with Trey Tucker? The best two game stretch of his career, a career high and targets with 12 on Sunday. Who is this year's JSN and rookie wide receivers? We have to talk about Omar Cooper, Jr. and Casey Concepcion, and Karen L Tate, and Denzel Boston, and Jeremy Bernard. And anyone I may have forgotten about Jordan Tyson. Kai Lemmon, yeah, whatever. Caleb Douglas. Caleb Douglas, but Kai Lemmon just plays tonight. Jordan Tyson, hopefully plays in a couple of weeks, we'll see. And that's about it, I think, for the rookie wide receivers. Okay, welcome everyone to fantasy football today, presented by hymns. Be confident. Be him. Hope all of your fantasy teams were him this weekend. Seattle was him last night. They beat the Chiefs 20 to 3. Chiefs have a little bit of a kicker problem. Harrison Butler missing two field goals. The Chiefs also played this game without starting offensive tackle. Jalen Moore, who's in the concussion protocol. Meanwhile, the Seahawks lost Rashid Shaheed to believe in knee injury. And I don't know the extent of that one. But Charles Cross, their left tackle, he's going to miss some time with a high ankle-spray and we just learned. So that's a tough break for them. But Jacob, the Chiefs fan. What was your opinion, your fantasy takeaways from last night's game? The Jayson as him, I mean, my gosh, like Montserrat Elaine, so like, you know, literally, Sneed wasn't maybe doing the best job on him. That press coverage from the slot attempt to look about like mine would. But Montserrat Elaine was actually doing a really good job on him. And it just like did not matter, dude. Like he was uncoverable yesterday. You dig into the Jayson stats and they're better than last year, basically. Just ridiculous stuff. Can't stop the guy. Other than that, like, the Chiefs side of things, like, it's just one of those games. It's a weird, I think this game really is a good, like, example of why we focus on all of the nitty gritty advanced stats and stuff like that. Because like, there are games sometimes where you run into an extremely weird game script. And if it's not on an island like this, if it just happens to be with all the Sunday new games, you're like, how the hell did this player get me three points or whatever, you know? Like, are they a bus? And he's like, no, there's nothing wrong with Kenneth Walker. It's that literally no player is safe from this type of a game where you run into an absolute buzz saw of Seattle defense. And the Seattle offense gets, I don't know if you want to call it lucky, but they kept converting on all these throw downs and stuff that just like kept them on the field all the time. The Chiefs barely had any plays. I'm sure you have that information. 50 plays for the Chiefs 24 minutes and nine seconds of position. Yeah. Seattle, what's the, on third down, they were 11 of 16, the Chiefs were 3 of 11. I don't think anyone's going to be worried about Kenneth Walker, you know, look, the Seahawks are great. But, you know, were the, we're hoping to get another good game out of him. I didn't necessarily think it would be a good game, was the Seahawks, they're so good at eliminating Yak. But Kelsey's really disappointing, because he got eight targets. Two of them were on the last two plays of the game. Like, the day targets doesn't even really, to me, accurately describe his role in this game, because that seems like he was heavily targeted, and I guess technically he kind of was, but he's pretty invisible for much of this game. He had a drop, he had a ball where he wasn't even looking, and it wasn't considered a drop, but like, he actually could have had a pretty good game. There was a play where he was open, probably for 10, 15 yards, and, and my home's mistom. He was kind of hit as he threw. So, I mean, this could have been like a 14 point PPR fantasy game, but still, I still, Dan wouldn't have come out of it, feeling that great about Travis Kelsey. You know, the first two weeks of the year look really good, he had like a big long play against Denver. I don't know, it's been, it's been, it's been crap for the last four weeks. The last four games, he's on pace for 81 targets, 727 yards, four touchdowns, just really bad. So, what are you thinking about Kelsey, who for the season is actually the number eight tight end per game, but I don't know if we consider a bit top eight tight end, which is amazing, considering we wouldn't most likely. I mean, I think the chiefs have a, Taiwan Thornton problem disguises are where she writes problem. And, and it's like, Taiwan Thornton played such a bigger role in this offense, just being able to stretch the defense out and make these plays and adjustments down the field. With a report, the moams has. I think we're well past the point now as Jacob is outlined throughout my lifetime, talking football with Jacob Gibbs of thinking Xavier worthy as any chance of being having any kind of impact on the vertical plane. He can do some things underneath. I think Jacob posted a nice cut up of him from the two weeks before this, where yet some good after the catch plays, but he's really not helpful in the way that Taiwan Thornton was as far as opening up the offense in the defense. And without him on the field, it feels like this chiefs offense is in quicksand. That's how it felt like the plays that were made in the passing game were just moams, breaking, containing the pocket and then doing things out off script on. The commentators mispronounced the Y2C2 and Y2C3's names last night. Yeah, who Jaylin Royals and Jaylin Royals. They called like Jacob or something. I don't remember what it was exactly an Andrew Armstrong. They also called the wrong name. They called them Anthony Armstrong. They did like I had like a 56% route rate. That's playing a fun. Andy Armstrong used to play for the commanders actually. So they were probably thinking about him, but yeah, they have a problem right now on offense. There's no identity in my mind on script off script. My homes can still make some plays. They're not going to face Seattle every week, but the ceiling for this offense feels, feels down for me. And I have no concerns with Walker. I don't think Travis Kelsey's in every week play, but I think you can still play him in good matchups. Outside of those two, I can't feel confident starting any other chief. What about my homes? What about Rashid Rice? I include my homes in that. 165 passing yards or receiving yards at least. 131 of those came after the catch last night. And over half of them were Kelsey and Noah Gray. And we're like, Kelsey didn't have that good of a game. There's nothing. Do you think she writes when he comes back is, is going to be a, is he going to be a, you know, a good start, a top 20 receiver? Maybe, maybe even top 12, who knows? And B, is he going to make patch my homes usable? Because look, this was Seattle. And next week they get down, yeah, which is going to be tough. But then Jets Falcons, Cardinals, bills. That's a really good stretch right there. So I don't want you don't want to overs. You don't want to overreact, but you also want to feel, at least I feel like rice's return will mean more for rice than it will for my homes because I have a feeling the chiefs are going to go back to the gimmicky stuff that they rely on last year with rice just to move the ball on script. That's at least where I'm at right now with it. Passing my homes in his first four games. He was seven of 18 on deep balls. 20 and more areas. Seven of 18, 285 yards. No touchdowns, two picks. The last two games. No, no, zero for three. Over three on deep ball attempts. All three were last night. And four of his seven deep ball completions this year were to take one Thornton. So I'm glad we talked about that then because it is underrated. What he did for this, for this offense. On the other side of the ball, you know, Sam Darnold has had some tough matchups recently. He has faced the, let's see, he is, I'm sorry, he has faced the commanders and he crushed them. Then the chargers, Niners and chiefs and he's struggled. Last night, like 20 of 28, 257 and a touchdown, but they threw that interception in the end. Zona has a good game if he doesn't make that play. But next up, we've got Chicago, Arizona, Las Vegas, and a buy. But the next three games, like you actually, I'm not saying you have to keep Sam Darnold, but it wouldn't shock me if he's better than Caleb Williams this week. It wouldn't shock me if he's better than Jared Goff. Goff has the Vikings. Caleb has the Seahawks. Darnold has a history going back to last year of being pretty damn good in good matchups. So he's got some coming up. You know, I was hoping as his act Charbonne manager that Emmanuel Wilson wouldn't be that good, and he wasn't, I feel like he wasn't really that good until that last long touchdown run. But I'm curious to see what happens next week if Charbonne is able to play. And I think that's pretty much it for this game. So, so there you go. Okay, beyond the box score, we've got, it's got its own podcast feed. If you enjoy this show and you want to hear more of this kind of stuff, Dan and Jacob have you covered all throughout the week. You can watch it on youtube.com and search for Beyond the Box Score or search for the Beyond the Box Score podcast anywhere you listen. Incredible show. They dive into the nitty gritty, the usage. A lot of things that we don't get a chance to talk about on the main FFT show. You can hear us. on the box score. And guys, let's talk about him. Now it's time for he's him sponsored by him's. There's the guy you are right now and there's the guy you could be. Man, do I feel that way about some of my fantasy teams? And whatever's holding you back, him's has a real plan for it. Be confident. Be him. Jacob, who is him this week? I mean, I feel like it's just Jason, but I also want to hear a New York Giants opinion on the Cam Skataboo bounce back because I feel like their running back room was kind of him yesterday. And man, so it's funny. You say that we didn't talk about this before the show, but that's my him of the week. And I'm really excited about it being Cam Skataboo because earlier on our beyond the box score Tuesday show last week. I think we touched on it last Monday too. There was a lot of concern about Skataboo. And I came out with the opinion that I think that Skataboo as soon as this week against the Texans will be the clear lead back. And if it's a stray sea, it's turning over to him. I said no. And I'm happy that I was right because this is exactly what the Giants need in my opinion. And I just watched the tape of that game. Cam Skataboo from an individual effort standpoint was absolutely phenomenal in the game. The contact balance, the touchdown run was a one-of-one type player who can make that play. Maybe him, Henry, a few others. The long burst, the two long runs that he had were great vision cuts by him showed me that like lateral jump cut ability that I saw all throughout his Arizona state tape. And his rookie tape felt like there was more burst yesterday. The key is they believe in him being the engine of this offense. He brings a different kind of energy to the offense. And most importantly, he fits JJ McCarthy's skill set really well. We saw multiple runs in this game. I saw at least on tape where the end man on a line of scrimmage had to pause had to hold up because he didn't know if McCarthy was going to keep the ball that makes such a difference in the run games, particularly for the Giants. I felt like they were able to also add more elements to the run game. They ran pistol a lot. And out of pistol, they had some of their most explosive run plays. They're able to pull the guard in the center and get moving in a way that looked and resembled more of the Greg Roman chargers, the Greg Roman Ravens to be honest in the run game. It adds such an element. So Scataboo to me is the clear lead back. You know, we'll still see some red zone touches stolen. It's not what it was last year when he was the all time, you know, red zone guy. And I'm seeing from the chat. I would sell, yeah, two weeks ago, I was low on Scataboo. You're right. But last week I came back around because of the quarterback change, the quarterback change. Yeah, exactly. That's the point. I was low two weeks ago because of Winston. And now obviously we have Jay Jim and Cart. Yeah. I feel like everything you said is probably true, but it almost feels like a best case scenario. I don't know that I trusted so much. He was splitting pretty evenly with Tyrone Tracy Jr. before Tracy got hurt. He had a 19 yard carry on basically a trick play out of the push push formation. And then in overtime, the Texans defense just self-destructed and you saw back to back plays where Scataboo had a long run and then Singletary had a long run. I don't know if the Texans were tired, you know, they were on the field a lot. But yeah, I don't know. Yeah, obviously it was a good, it was a really good step in the right direction for him. He's probably not this good, but I don't know. He did. I mean, he did hit eight miss force tackles yesterday and he was averaging two and a half per game coming in. Yeah, I don't know that I would sell or anything like that. I just, yeah, I think be happy. Be happy that you have a guy that you can start. Like we can't, we can't just, you know, react every time we're running back as a bad game, be like, oh, he stinks, whatever. You're probably going to have some good games going forward. Their schedule is not really that bad. Like I didn't think they had a chance of being good in the game. The fact that I didn't know one did, you know, is encouraging. I think if Philly out of the buy Philly's defense has been kind of average, then they got like Washington after that, I think. So whatever. Right. All right. That is a cam Scataboo. And that was he's him sponsored by him. Be prepared. Be strong. Be confident. Be him. Ready to be him? Visit hymns.com to get personalized affordable care. That's h-i-m-s dot com. Your news and notes, Clint Kubiak, the Raiders head coach did not rule out a quarterback change, which is if you just look at the numbers, this is a top five passing offense. And it's not even because they're throwing a ton. Their yards per attempt is pretty solid. Touchdown rate is fifth, I think, fifth best. But we've seen the last two weeks spent a lot of garbage time, a lot of catch up stuff. And eventually they're going to have to, I think they've lost four in a row, right? They are going to have to make a change at some point, probably. And Shane Steikin is not considering a quarterback change yet for the Colts. At running back, you got Tyrone Tracy and cam Scataboo leaving with injuries. Thankfully, they go into their buy. Jamira Gibbs. That was so awkward at the end. Yeah, I'm so happy. It wasn't hurt. That looked so bad. Christian McCaffrey going into the buy week with thigh injury that he was able to come back from. So I assume he'll be all right. Yeah. Aaron Jones knee injury, but good news for him. It's not a serious knee injury for Aaron Jones. And that's about it for the major ones. We had Jalen Waddle with an arm injury. Yeah, that one could be major. Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm running back. Oh, yeah, I think Jalen Noel with turf toe, Jalen Waddle with, you know, arm to shame, they finally get their offense going a little bit here. And they get the chiefs this week. Offensive line, big news for Taylor Moten, who's going to miss much of the season with the broken leg, the right tackle for the Panthers. The Packers have a Thursday night game against Carolina. Caroline is not going to have their starting right tackle. The Packers are probably going to be on their third string center, which they were in this game. They're going to have their third string center, most likely starting for them on Thursday against Carolina. Baltimore offensive line of Venga, Yohane. I just want to say because I want y'all to know that I know how to pronounce Venga, Yohane, even though it's spelled nothing like that. Yeah, it's spelled I own, but it is Yohane. And it's spelled Vega. So double bang there left. He left in the first half. And I mentioned Charles Cross left tackle for the Seahawks as they get the bears this week. The bears actually tend to get pressure. So no left tackle for maybe a few weeks high ankle sprain. All right, let's get to some snap counts. Oh, wait, did we take a break? Nope. I don't think we did. We had a kind of thing. Yeah. It's time to go break a little while ago, but let's take an official break here. We'll go to commercial. And when we come back, we'll talk about snap counts and the four big topics after this. I'll just run through a few things. Your Kyle Pitz target per out run rate higher than 20% four straight games. Didn't run as many routes last game yesterday, but expect that the bounce back. And he has four touchdowns in his last three games. Jonah Coleman. I'm assuming Jacob's going to talk about that. He played by far the most snaps among the Broncos running backs. He played half the snaps. He ran as many routes as RJ Harvey. It was maybe as much of a bad game for for Dobbins and Harvey as it was a good game for Coleman. And honestly, a bad game for fantasy managers if this is the case. James and Williams had a 29% target share after four straight weeks with a target share below 16%. And I know I'm going to talk a lot about James and Williams this week, but I don't know how I'm going to feel about him yet. That's a lot of research going to have to be done for this matchup against Minnesota. The last time golf faced Minnesota was during that stretch last year where the Vikings gave up one passing touchdown in seven games. And he was terrible. Golf scored like four or five fantasy points in that game. So you got this really great game from JMO very encouraged and coming out of their buy. He's got two straight games with I think two end zone targets. He also had, and this is what I need from JMO. We had a season low 10 yard A dot. He's pretty much always better when they don't use him just as a down feel guy. He doesn't have to be that guy. So I love the usage yesterday. But what will it mean next week? I'll do a whole bunch of research and none of it will matter cause football's random. Josh Jacobs played 52% of the snaps. So we thought we'd get I don't know if we thought like there was a report that he would probably get more than that, but whatever. And then the Rams tight end usage is hilarious. Parkinson Higby and Davis Allen. They all played around 71% of the snaps. They all ran between 40 and 57% of the routes. Higby ran the most routes. Alan caught the most touchdowns. Parkinson had the most targets. Let's hope that they like Taren's Ferguson enough to make him like a real consistent number one tight end and not part of this jumbled mess. That's all I got. Jacob, what do you got? I'm not like, as you can tell I'm a little under the weather. So I'm kind of catching up. I'll get to you a lot more of this on Tuesday. I thought you did really a good job there. The two that I that stood out to me were case conception and Zay flowers. I'm really intrigued by both of these guys conception playing with Munkin who is where flowers like his career blossomed there. I think he plays a sort of similar role. We've just had really, really bad luck with catchable targets for this rookie Cleveland Browns. And so honestly, we're going to talk about both of these guys today as part of our big questions. But I just wanted to point out 110 yards after the catch for Zay flowers this week. He leads. That was a career high. He leads the league. Well, he leads all receivers and tight ends and yak on the year, which is also crazy because he's played without a starting quarterback for more, more often than not. And he's missed the game. And he's missed partial other games. And he still leads the whole league and raw yards after the catch. Luther Burton also had 93 yak this week, which all came in the first half. Don't really know what happened there in the second half. And then conception had 81 yards after the catch. The other two guys who had more than 60 were Omar Cooper Jr. And Trey Tucker. Two other guys were going to talk about today. Yeah. Exciting stuff. Omar Cooper Jr. Five targets caught him all huge game with Pokemon. And was oh, yeah, let me just ask you this. As we look at the bears at Seattle and the lions at Minnesota, let me just make sure that game is in Minnesota. Yeah. Oh, no, it's in Detroit. Are you feeling confident in your bears and your lions in week eight? I know. We haven't even started. It's Monday. We haven't even started our week eight prep. But just what do you think between Minnesota hosting between Detroit, hosting Minnesota and Chicago at Seattle Monday night? No, not really. I mean, I'm confident the Detroit guys generally speaking, but any game where golf gets a passenger like this, like we've seen him get heated up at times in a get pretty bad. Right. Their line is, the line has gotten healthier and Detroit. I think that that one I feel a little bit better about, but the bears. There's like no predictability at all as how it feels right now. We just haven't at any point found any like momentum or any sort of like trend. It's just been like all over the place where the bears the way this season is gone lately. Colson Lovelin is the one who's been getting more and more first three targets. He had a 41% first three target rate this last week. That's great. That's amazing for Titan. That's good for any players. I guess I would feel confident in them. I would feel confident in Deontari Swift. Generally speaking, but we just saw what they did to the frickin chiefs round game. Yeah, I don't feel confident either. Those two offenses in this game. I would probably find more confidence in the bears offense. I think this is the exact type of game script and matchup where golf typically struggles judging on. You know, I mean everyone struggles against Brian Flores at this point, but golf is specifically a type of quarterback that will really struggle against the style defense. Okay. I think I have a, I don't know who had more faith in like the Patriots have a solid defense and the bears just scored 30 points against them. It's not the let nothing is the level of the sea oxy isn't and there's or the Vikings right those two defenses. Yeah, I honestly purposes. Those are probably the two that I want to avoid the most certainly the Vikings. But the Brian Flores, I think Brian Flores, but it's like 88% of the time yesterday. Look at the Viking schedule though. I know like they play Green Bay and Jordan love had a decent game and they gave up 22 points since then Chicago with backup. Oh, no, no, they did they that was in the rain though. But they, yeah, they humiliated Caleb Williams, I guess, but that was a 9-3 win in the bad weather Tampa Bay Miami New Orleans and the Colts. That's going to be tough. All right, let's get into our four big topics. A guy on Twitter named free wants us to talk about the rookie wide receivers do any have season long wide receiver to upside and just real quick here. There are 25 is wide receivers who are averaging 14 or more PPR fantasy points per game. So that's kind of what I'm going to look for in this conversation wide receiver to upside 14 or more PPR fantasy points per game over the last five seasons. There have been seven wide receivers not including this season 2021 to 2025 seven rookie wide receivers who averaged 14 or more PPR fantasy points per game. They were Jamar chase and Jalen Waddle in 2001. Pukin Akua and tank Dell in 2023 I said 2001 sorry I mean 2021 Pukin Akua and tank Dell in 2023 and Malik neighbors lab Maconkey and Brian Thomas junior in 2024. So there you go. Those were the guys who did it 14 points per game or more. Some of them were on terrible offenses like Malik neighbors. Brian Thomas junior and Jalen Waddle they were all on teams that were 25th or worst in scoring. Looking at you car and L. Tate so Dan what do you think do any rookie wide receivers have top 24 upside rest of season. Start with the one I think has the most upside Omar Cooper junior we talked about him last week a lot on beyond the box score all three shows that I did including this one. And I thought his film was really good from week from week six I haven't got a chance to watch what he did yet week seven obviously five probably 114 in a touchdown the thing I really like was on the touchdown he was lined up out of the back field. I'm just finding ways to get him the football the jets are. I think the reality is at this point they're looking at it like. Even as they're trying to take away Garrett Wilson from our passing game what are other options in the past game and it feels like the next best option is to just get a more Omar Cooper these one on one matchups and take advantage of that because he's a really good football player and he looks. I watch him in Indiana and I thought he was more of like a deep o type after the catch guy I watch him with the jets for at least from last week's tape and I think he's more of a just like route you up type of guy and he's somebody who can win his routes consistently. And that's to me a very good sign of things moving forward I don't think I'm not going crazy or being like wide receiver one in a jets offense and there's obviously still like some concern to me that at some point they want to see what club Nick looks like. I know it's not like likely but it's possible and at that point I'm just tying entirely out on the jets offense. But until now Gino's playing okay enough to make Cooper my mind get Cooper into the wider zero two mix do I find anyone else to be in that mix I know Jake will probably not car. I mean it's got an obviously car now date as well yeah car now date as well. I think I think you could go back and amend the statement would you say that date has more upside than Omar Cooper junior. Yeah more upside sure. Okay. I'm not so sure how I'll score him the rest of season but I do think he definitely has more upside. Okay I've got dad on the rookies can I throw that up on the screen yeah. So it's sort of by fantasy points where I run over on the right side there and then this is just all the other relevant receiving stuff. You can see Omar Cooper junior is averaging 16.3 points per game which is crazy you can see the number of games that played over on the left side. Concepts the one who stands out to me I think he's like I just a better version of Omar Cooper junior. I guess that like the offensive environment isn't as good and there's yeah I see them pretty similar I'm gonna say there's target competition for both of them. Yeah they work in and out of the slot they're great after the catch we saw some conception on place after the catch this week they were like phenomenal which is what we'd seen on film and college too. He's different than Cooper junior I think he's more consistent in his yak and route winning ability. Cooper junior had a lot of flashes he worked two years ago at Indiana he worked outside a ton and down the field more and you got to see more the route running chops. And it was good but it's not consistent in my opinion at least it wasn't then but he had some huge wins. What he's done so far has been a lot of big play stuff but it's like all the skills that we know are there showing up. I do think it's inflating things obviously if you I mean he's number one in the NFL and fantasy points where I run right now. Wow so like obviously if you want to like not just rookies yeah if you can like sell based off that sure. But I do think like the yak is real if you looked at like yak data it was only Luther Burton who is better than Omar. Junior of the last like five draft classes in terms of like yards after the catch yards after contact. He's really really good in that regard. Yeah I think it was he was in a favorable situation to do that like it was different concepts you can set me on teams were kind of trash. But very good that and can went down the field has a decent feel for zone coverage to a few these catches have been a good zone where he settled in the right spot then taken off after the catch after that. I think he's legit I just don't know if we can expect the opportunities to keep being there like this. If you want us after two huge games that could be right that definitely could be right we're still talking about a jets receiver who plays on team care Wilson right and Mason Taylor and add an I Mitchell for what it's worth. Because that's relevant when we talk about care Wilson soon I think I mean clearly to me I can have any rookie wide receiver be car now tape. That's the one I'm most excited about the Titans are the worst offense in football they throw for the fewest yards per game that sucks but his target share is immense his target per out run rate is really good. So for me it's easily car now tape I have some issues with like all of the others I don't think this is going to be a great rookie class. I don't think it's going to be consistent one like my issue if I could combine Casey conception and Denzel Boston's profiles I think we can have a great receiver. With Denzel Boston you have a guy who has a 16 yard a dot it's just and it's week after week of high a dots and you know what he he got a deep end zone target in this game. And it was a little bit overthrown and that happens I don't know if it's quite an end zone target was close he had another deep on his wide open in Watson missed him that ball play would come back on a holding call anyway. So doesn't officially count as a target but like you're going to get these big games from Denzel Boston I can't imagine you're going to get much consistency with conception. It's a little gimmicky you know it's good that they're designing plays for him and stuff like that but it is reliant a lot on yak and he does not have a he's getting a lot of targets lately. He does not have a single target in the green zone or a single target in the end zone so far this year and I do. He looks like a guy where touchdowns could be a problem like the profile I could see that. Definitely. He had a target go through his hands this week that could have easily been touched on it wasn't a green zone target technically but it was near the end zone. Yeah it was like at the 20 or something like that but definitely he was on the run it was a really well designed play I think. And he and he yeah he did drop that conception this was a great game for him but I do think that you might be able to sell on these guys as I. I just don't think they're going to be consistent and if I'm looking at 14 ppr fantasy points per game like rest of season yeah it's going to be tough to get that. It's just date for me is only one I do it averaging out I do I think Tyson's got a chance I mean that's just based on hope but I think he. Tyson's based on hope for sure but and talent I would say they're sleepers in this category as well like to me Antonio Williams is a massive sleeper. All he's done is look good both on tape and by the metrics and now Tehran Mcloen's out for the year and Jaden looks pretty good throwing the ball like no one really talks about that one but to me that's big sleeper Malachi feels is a sleeper as well. All he's done is catch every pass thrown to him and it looked from yesterday's tape like he was a big first I don't know the numbers on it but like he was a big factor in the game plan and J.J. Look for him a lot. I didn't read my Malachi field stat I did read your Malachi field stat but you can tell it wasn't I don't remember I read a lot of things yesterday and don't quite remember your Malachi. He has like a 23% target share with J.J. McCarthy and with J.J. I mean, Isaiah likely has like a 16% something like that. And likely he's banged up now as well, playing through what looks like an injury that he's not complaining about, but it looks pretty obvious. So my alky field to me is another big sleeper. I don't know if I can find consistency for him or for Antonio Williams, but they're certainly sleepers for me in this class. And then obviously you gotta at least consider will Miami build on what Caleb Douglas was able to do this past week? Is there something they figured out in their biweek that's allowing them to pass the football a little bit more consistently? Because if that's the case, he could just be in that Cornell Tate range, obviously not as talented, and not necessarily a worse quarterback play. No offense, Adam, dear boy. But not guaranteed to be worse quarterback play and maybe now becoming that number one type guy for Miami. - I mean, in his first game, he had seven targets. He had a 26% target share at 94 yards. We've seen him play three games and two of them have been really productive. - Yeah. - And he looked freaking awesome this season too. He looks awesome on film. - Yeah. - Just Tate Tate has by far the best setup, right? Like he really, no target competition. And unfortunately he has the worst passing game, but it takes like top 15 and first three target rate among all players. - Yeah. - His usage is in a different ballpark than the rest of these guys. Unless McKayla does something different in what we've seen tonight. Like nobody else is even worse. - Those guys we're excited about. Let's talk about the scrubs. Garrett Wilson and Nico Collins and Derek Henry and Chase Brown. I do have some encouraging stuff for Chase Brown, even more than what we talked about yesterday. - Don't do this. We do have every week. I'm so sick of this, everyone's so sick of this. - But first we do have to take a break. We'll be right back after this to talk about the four concerning players that emerge, you know, that again emerge in week seven. And that'll be after this we'll be right back. - There's the guy you are right now and there's the guy you know you could be. Hymns is here to help you close that gap and get there. How would you rank them? Most worried to least worried? Chase Brown Wilson, I guess. And then I guess Nico. Henry at least, I would go. He's worried for you. Henry by far and away to least worried. By far and away. I know you've been a little bit more worried about a madam. I just think it's purely a Lamar issue. Once Lamar's back in the line of everything changes. I have very personally, I'm not a big Tyler Huntly fan. Yeah, I would say it's least worried, Henry. Second to least worried, Nico for me. Third to least worried, Chase Brown. Most worried would be Wilson. Okay, so you did it at the exact opposite of the way I asked you to do it. Thank you. I'm very welcome. Yeah, I'm not that worried about Derek Henry. I mean, look, guys 32 first time in his career. He's had six straight games where he's failed to average more than 4.3 yards per carry. And last year without Lamar Jackson, you didn't know that, Dan? Not that's that. No, well, that also in the article. You didn't read it. You didn't read by it. It really hurts. I did read it, but my brain is not as good as it used to be when there's a thousand things going on on a Sunday. He played four games without Lamar Jackson last year and he averaged 2.2, 5.1, 3.4 and 6.0 yards per carry. You know, he had a game with 122 rushing yards. He had a game with 36 carries for 260 yards and four touchdowns, scored 45.6 fantasy points at Green Bay. So it's not like he was this bad last year without Lamar. You know, he's got one of the lowest, one of the worst rates of carries for zero or negative yards. And I looked at, you know, just the first seven weeks of last year and it was actually kind of similar. So I actually think if you look at Derek Henry, you could see some things that I could look concerning. But at the same time, we had the same exact argument or conversation rather last year because it was the first nine games of last year. He wasn't even really that good. He scored more than 14 fantasy points last year in PPR in two of his first nine games. And then in his last eight games, you know, he was on pace for like almost 2100 total yards and 21 touchdowns. So I think Derek Henry can get things going immediately. But two straight games, a few of the six PPR fantasy points is awful and just weak losers for you there. So we agree, Henry, everybody agrees, Henry the least concerning. Garrett, most concerning for Dan was Garrett Wilson. Who was it for you, Jacob? - I guess, Chase Brown, but I don't know. Like as you're talking there is like, yeah, both these guys started so slow last year. They're both in the exact same situation this year. I don't know if I'm really that worried about it. Okay, I don't know. Like I guess I'll say Wilson, but I feel the same way about Wilson that I did coming into the year. Like I think that he can have really good games. He can target dominated times. He got extremely lucky in the fact that the Jets lost like every single offensive skill position player other than him to start the year. And so they fed him like a 36% target share in those games. I don't think he's gonna have a 10% target share like he did this week. But I do think it might be lower than 30%. And if you have a lower than 30% target share on an offense like the Jets and you're not creating a ton on your own three yards after the catch on the year. He's never been, he can't create after the catch. He's not ever produced a ton there. He's not getting a ton of down field looks or anything. Like he's more, for fantasy, he has been more of an accumulator where he needs to get a ton of targets. So yeah, it doesn't feel great with him really. I guess I'll say he's one of them most worried about. - One other thing to worry about with Wilson, we brought this up on yesterday's show. The schedule is not that bad for the foreseeable future. However, the last five games of the season for Garrett Wilson, of the fantasy season are a bi, Patrick Sartan, then the Cardinals, Chris Chiganzales, who just shut him down and then the Vikings. So it is a really specifically for Garrett Wilson, a terrible end of the season. I don't know that Chris Chiganzales and Patrick Sartan are gonna be healthy. Maybe the Vikings fall apart. But if you're playing all those opponents at full health, it would be really bad for Garrett Wilson. - And I think for Nico, it's just like, sorry dude, you got to understand, the bank's closed on Sundays. We just got to understand that. I've been waiting to say that for so many years, Adam, since the giant draft of the Ante Banks, but the reality is this dude's actually turned into one of the better cover corners in the NFL. It's kind of absurd to turn around. It's one of the most unexpected things I've. I'd probably had during my lifetime covering the giants, given where he was at last year versus now. But the tape's pretty clear. He's in the hip pocket almost every snap. - And honestly, Travis Hunter is a really good corner too. So it's two weeks in a row where Nico's shadowed. And I watched the tape. I know you watched the tape. I watched it this morning. It seemed like the giants were also giving the Ante Banks a lot of help. They had a lot of attention on Nico Collins, in my opinion. And I think there are some, so you could kind of excuse that. However, that's not the whole story. Last two games, he's run 83% of the routes and 80% of the routes. That's not a superstar receiver. That's gonna be tough to be like, great, great with that. It could be good, but great. - It's true. - Marvin Harrison Jr. so far is getting so heavily targeted. He's like a 50% target per out run rate is something like that. And Nico Collins has run 16 routes with Marvin Harrison Jr. on the field. And he has two targets on those 16 routes. And like, this isn't gonna keep up. But Marvin Harrison Jr. is only gonna get more involved. He's barely playing. And when he's been on the field, Nico's getting basically nothing. He's got a 23.2% target per out run rate for the season. That's his lowest in four years. So when you asked me if I'm more worried about Nico Collins or Garrett Wilson, my answer is, I'm more worried about Nico Collins based on preseason expectations. - Sure. - If I had him about a round and a half earlier than Garrett Wilson. But if I were drafting today, they'd be closer together. I think Garrett Wilson will be mostly fine, but I'm worried about both of them. Like I used to look at my, I only have Garrett, I don't have Garrett Wilson on any teams. I only have Nico in one team. I used to look at that team like, I am set. I love it. I start Nico Collins. I'm getting points every week. I no longer feel that way. I don't feel nearly as good about that team as I did. - Sure. - I think we have legitimate issues here. However, I do think he's gonna be pretty solid rest of season. You know, I think he'll be a number two receiver. Garrett Wilson, I think he'll be like on the border of a top 24 receiver, personally. And then Chase, are you guys agree with that? Or kind of where you're at? - I have a hard time being worried about Nico. I know it's been really rough for a couple of games. - I just think Jacob's right. I mean, prior to this game, CJ Stroud was the only quarterback. Jacob brought the stat to my attention that had 200 plus air yards in every game. It's still a high opportunity. with a quarterback playing really well. The Giants were able to shut him down, but no one else really has been able to. - The Texans kind of got chiefed in the skin. That fought 54 plays. It was kind of like the Giants against the Cowboys and Week 1 or whatever. - Yeah, Chase Brown. So he played 75.5% of the snaps. That's a big number. He played 60% of the snaps. The last time we talked about Chase Brown and Week 5, I think a lot of people saw that one yard goal line touched down from Samosha P. Ryan. And that really stinks. Like I think it's almost like-- - I thought they would try to get him a touchdown, dude, he hasn't squirted one all year. - Yeah, and he hasn't scored yet this year? - Wow. - Pretty sure, right? Is that wrong? - You know, he's squirting Week 1. - Oh, just Week 1. Okay, so he hasn't scored since Week 1. - And we need that. Like your hope with Chase Brown is that you knew he wasn't as talented as James Cook and you thought Amari and Hampton, whatever, like a lot of the running-- - He bought him for the touchdowns. 100%. - He bought him for the offense in the touchdowns, exactly. And if P. Ryan's gonna get that, it's a real bummer. But there was a sequence that I didn't really talk about yesterday that I noticed today. It was after that. It was with eight minutes and 14 seconds to play in the fourth quarter. They're up by eight. First and goal with the sixth yard line. Chase Brown is in the game. He carries to the two yard line. He's in the game on second and goal. Not lined up in the backfield, but he's in the game. They throw and complete. He's in the game on third and goal from the two yard line. They throw a touchdown to Jamar Chase. So I thought that was encouraging. There was talk that maybe, the report from the athletic that maybe, Samaja P. Ryan was more suited for the runs out of the shotgun and Chase Brown more suited for the runs under center. Well, I mean, P. Ryan barely had any carries in this game, but Chase Brown actually had six runs out of the shotgun. So it's not like they took him off the field when they were in shotgun or anything like that. The usage was great. If he just scores that damn touchdown, we're probably pretty relieved. I can't predict the future. I don't know what the, what the, you know, the goal line work's gonna be, but if he gets that, then he'll be okay. Here's a play I want to show you though. This has really frustrated me. Like he's got a huge hole here between his, his right garden, his right tackle. This is a well block play. His next step has to be that hole. He takes another step, maybe step and a half straight forward. He ends up gaining like five yards on the play. And this one really frustrated me too. Where are we? Come back, nope. Where's the other Chase Brown one? All right, don't have it. It was a well block play except for his center. They had a play really and his center got absolutely destroyed on the play and he got tackled for a loss. Also, I didn't get to chance to talk about these Gino Smith screenshots. Let's take a look at this. I keep Chase Brown again. Cooking things and it keeps bringing up Chase Brown. That is weird. I see you clicking on the back end. You're trying to get this, Garrett Wilson. All right, let's remove all the Chase Browns. From here, if we can, and I will-- Can I remove him from my fantasy team's life but get something better back for it? We can get those out of here. Him and Hampton are just nightmare picks. I'm just gonna click on a random thing. Let's see if it brings up Chase Brown, ready? Oh, I tried to circle Garrett Wilson on this play. I don't know if you can tell. That's how open Garrett Wilson is. The throw does not go to Garrett Wilson. Watch how open Mason Taylor is. You see this play? Holy cow. Gino Smith has Mason Taylor. There is no one within 15 to 20 yards. That's a touchdown. That should have been a three touchdown game for Mason Taylor. It doesn't see him. The next play is an interception. And then you have two options if you're Gino Smith. You have option one. Garrett Wilson for about six yards. Or option two at an I-Mitchell for a 65-year touchdown, almost any three chose option one. A lot of misses, in terms of seeing the feel for Gino Smith in week seven. All right, anything else to add on these four, these four losers? Just kidding. Okay, moving on. Next topic from they know that we're like that. Who is this year's JSN? I mean, it's a Flowers, isn't it? It's JSN. It's JSN. It is definitely a Flowers. Yeah, I don't know if there's any other player in competition. I watch Safe Flowers and I feel like he's always been good post-catch. He's even better now post-catch than he was earlier in his career. And I just can't wait to see him a Lamar Jackson once the market's back. So to me, it's Safe Flowers though, I don't think he'll reach the level of JSN last year. That's JSN is JSN. I looked up first seven weeks of data during the time that we have per-row data available to us, which is back to 2013 and the closest season we have to last year's JSN is this year's JSN. Is it better or worse than last year? So I mean, he's average, right? He's average, right? He's average, right? He's average, right? He's average, right? He's average. Yeah, so the C-Hawks have been a little bit different than last year. They're a little bit more passive because they're running back room and then they've been in some weird game scripts. And then he also has eight touchdowns compared to four touchdowns at this point last year. Last year's score of 10 touchdowns. He already has eight on the year. So yeah, 28 PPR points are game is the most then NFL history through the first seven weeks of a season. And then say, "Flowers, yeah, he was third." He had this, so other than JSN, he's the most similar to JSN dating back to 2013 through an initial seven weeks. And that's with, again, an overwhelming amount of his drop back route running opportunities coming with Frickert Tyler Huntly. He's averaged to 3.7 yards per out run on a 33% target per out run rate with a 15% first down per out run rate, which is all pretty similar to JSN last year and this year. But if you look at the splits with Lamar Jackson on the field, he's averting seven point eight yards per out run, which is double, which is like three great players, three elite players basically, seven point eight yards per out run. He's running 45 routes, 45 routes to Lamar, which is like a game, game and a half, maybe five quarters. He has 65 PPR points. Yeah. It's insane. And you could, you could throw another name in the mix, Malik Neighbors. You can throw him in the Malik mixes this year. He's been now quarterback proof and matchup proof at this point, Malik Neighbors. The big play he made in this week, the long catch, 47 yards, was again a slotvert. So they're using him and they're moving him into the slot to get matchups that are right. He looks awesome out there and he hasn't even really reached his top form yet because the post catch versus in there yet. Could that return end of season or is it just the next year thing? I don't know. It doesn't need it right now. This is four straight, 100 yard games for him, three, what is it, two different quarterbacks to do it with? So backups. So I just feel like Neighbors belongs in this mix as well. Neighbors is amazing. Zay is doing it stylistically in the most similar way to Jays. Yeah, that's fair. Coaching change, all the condensed formation stuff, all the big personnel packages and everything that's unlocking him this way. Also, it just reminds me of Jays saying a little bit last year, we're like one of the very first things I saw on Red Zone this week after having like a bunch of start sick questions with y'all and being surprised you didn't have Zay in the top 10, sorry, no shade or anything, but I was like, how are we just not going to play Zay flowers this week? I don't care that it's hotly. I know the past two games have been that good because of the last two games. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I get that the last two games weren't that good, but that's the floor. That's fine. I'll take that. Nico Collins just gave me two points. Who cares? This guy's uncoverable. And then it's like immediately. It just like turns a play into a freaking touchdown and like throughout the day, every single time they flip it to the Ravens, he just looks like a super hero out there. I don't know what it is, but he's on something different this year, which is like, how is he even more talented than he was before? It's crazy. What he's doing. It's crazy. It kind of reminds me of Jason, where it's like he just looks so locked in and so damn talented that like he's just transcending everyone out there. It looks like the best player by far. It's a great word for it. Basically, you know, it's not, it wouldn't be the heights of JSN last year. But if Matthew Golden could just catch the ball, he'd be with that. That's actually, I love that. That's a good call. He looks so good. He's open all the time. He's got four games with 12 or more targets. It's crazy. And, you know, 69 targets in seven games. This is nuts. If he would, how many fantasy points is Matthew Golden left on the field the last two games? It's probably over 20, you know, because it's two touchdowns. It's a bunch of yards. You know, it's crazy. Yeah. All right. By the way, Dan, when do we get a future quarterback controversy for the Giants? We're not talking about that yet. Let's just have fun. Enjoy the time being. Please. All right. Our last topic is just the name. It's just Trey Tucker, a guy that I just feel like throughout all of the shows. We just haven't really, you know, talked about a lot. Giving us dude. Yeah. Well, he doesn't do that well typically. He never, he'll pretty much never puts back to back good games together ever. And he's the biggest tease in fantasy, but he's got 200 yards, 10 catches, 200 yards and three touchdowns in his last two games. He has a 48 fantasy points in his last two games against the bills and the Raiders. And the Raiders, the Raiders, the Rams, sorry, he's on the Raiders. The Rams are really good against wide receivers. So I think, you know, the fact that there's been some garbage time in there, you know, people don't really take it seriously. They start in 65% of leagues and he tends to break people's hearts. But Dan, what do you think about Trey Tucker? I'm not very interested. personally, I think we're about to undergo a quarterback change here in Las Vegas. I heard after the game, Kubiak talk, not giving, not really commit to Kirk Cousins. Personally, I think that Mendoza will be considerably worse for the entire Raiders past game than Cousins. We'll see if I'm wrong. He can get the ground running. It's possible. But I think Cousins is a pretty good football. And I don't think he's necessarily the reason why the three is it just that you think he is going to read things out a lot worse than Cousins because the charted accuracy is pretty terrible. Yeah. I think it's going to be just slow. I mean, look, it's possible to get away with it. So I shouldn't discredit it to start because essentially, this is what Jay Jim McCarthy has done. The last five quarters has been a lot of first read stuff. And it could just be Kubiak designs a good first read for Mendoza, he gets the ball out fast. I just, I'm just personally skeptical about what we'll get from Mendoza as far as passing game health goes. So you're saying you think that they'll play slower? I think they'll play slower for sure. Yeah. Pass less. Yeah. And pass less. And I just think it's going to be a lot more first read stuff, which I think we'll go to Bowers. This is just Tucker specific mostly for me. I've got some data on Tucker. Real quick though, I was going to add that he has six red zone targets already this year. Last year at 10, the year before that, he had seven. Yeah. That's it right there. He has a 26% target per run rate in the red zone. His rate across the first three seasons was 16%, so that's a huge increase. So that's just another like cherry on top in addition to him creating like ridiculous yards after the cash and everything. It doesn't have any open hole. Doesn't have any open hole. Yeah. I'm curious how many they even have. Sure. Trade Tucker. So Trade Tucker's expected fantasy points, which is a model from the fantasy points data switch. It looks like catchable targets and like where are the targets coming on the field and all that and zone targets red zone targets up first three targets all that stuff. His XFP per game puts him in the same range as Garrett Wilson and Luther Burton and D.K. Meckhaft. I'm a lot of those mid range like why I guess like high and why do you see for three is low and right. Right is for two types for fantasy. So like in terms of XFP, it actually backs up what we've gotten so far that the role has been pretty good. He's 13th in deep targets. He's 20th in catchable deep targets. Again, the charting accuracy on cousins is not very good this year. He's 20th in red zone targets, Trade Tucker. He's 18th in end zone targets. And then his first read target rate is 23%, which is the same range as James and Williams, Denzel Boston, George Pickens. So I think you can think of him as similar to those guys so far, at least in the role that he's playing where he's not the one A or whatever, he may not even be the one B. Maybe that's Michael Miller. I don't know. But he's a complimentary outside piece and he's clearly the preferred option among the other receivers. So he does get down to the looks. He does get some end zone looks and all that. And then occasionally does have some first three targets to in the same range as those other field stretching types that have been good for fantasy. I think the office has been designed really, really well. And so it could keep working for Tucker. There's the other thing that I like is there's no real drop off if you look at the usage with the Bowers. It's not like these rates are boosted by the first two games of Bowers. Those are his target numbers are basically identical since Bowers has returned. I think if I remember you and I did like a trade Tucker film review and he had one of those crazy games a couple of years ago, Dan and you really liked the player, right? Yes. Yeah. So if you knew that he would get 20 plus percent of the first three targets, would that change your opinion on? Yeah, it definitely will. I mean, I'm speculating on Mendoza. We haven't seen anything. It's certainly possible. You could still be a big part of the game plan in first read. I just think we're generally headed for a less of a progression based offense if Mendoza gets in the game. I just think it's crazy to think that the Raiders are fifth in points per game. Fifth in gross passing yards per game, fourth in touchdown passes, seventh in pass attempts, which doesn't shock me fifth in touchdown rate. They cannot run the football. A gentie is the one who's kind of screwing things up for everyone like you know Bowers is going to get his gentie is on pace for 83 catches, right? Right. It shouldn't be crazy, right? I mean, it's Clint Kubiak, like this guy embarrassed the whole league on his way to a Super Bowl last year. He did what every wanted, but he didn't throw to the running backs like this. You know, I'm just saying, but now he has genties for Tucker's sake. It would be great if Ash and Gentie weren't so involved in the passing game. But I'm just saying, I buy the Raiders stuff. I think that the offense is actually good. Then in the 49ers, there are two offenses that have consistently produced fantasy points every single week. I don't remember this that exactly. We did it last week on, like, by low episode where I talk about gentie. I think it was like 80 plus PPR points and everything will game. It's just them and the Niners. So someone's we got a comment in the chat. I don't know why you were talking about Mendoza, Kirk Cousins lit it up this week, so they could be expressed. They've lost four in a row. They keep falling behind and then Cousins tries to rescue them in the fourth quarter and he's, you know, he put up numbers, but it was a real struggle through three quarters. I think they had like three or six points, something like that. It's just not working. Then they did ask Kubiak about it and he said that he did not commit. He did not commit to Kirk Cousins. I would caution you to look beyond the box score as people, "Let's coin that," and Cousins didn't really have that good of a game, unfortunately, but there's no doubt. He's exceeded expectations. I actually, like, from what I saw in preseason and when he came in, I kind of came in the regular season. I kind of like Mendoza. I don't know what to expect, but we'll see. He's got a better arm than I realize coming out of college. I don't know why. It looks stronger here and I've got a better arm than Cousins, but that's not everything obviously. Yeah. I don't know. I think we summed it up. He's a good comparison to James and Williams. I would take James and Williams every time, but right now he's averaging more fantasy points than James and Williams, so it's crazy. What do I know? All right, everybody, thanks so much for watching and listening. I hope you enjoyed the show. And we'll talk to you tomorrow.
