Who Should You Add This Week? Top Week 5 Waiver Wire Targets | Fantasy Focus
61m 51s
The episode provides a detailed fantasy football recap focusing on key team performances, injuries, and roster decisions. Brian Robinson’s explosive game for the Falcons, featuring 14 carries and three touchdowns, makes him a high-impact insurance back, despite limited long-term durability. The Seattle backfield remains unpredictable, with Zach Scharbenay likely out, and the team likely relying on Emmanuel Wilson and Jardarian Price, while Joe Mixon’s return remains uncertain. The Falcons’ dominant running game, fueled by Robinson and Drake London, is highlighted as one of the league’s most exciting units. In contrast, the Saints’ offense shows inconsistent production, with Tyler Schucks having strong stats but poor game execution. Philadelphia’s offense faces significant instability due to multiple injuries, with Will Shipley and Damian Pierce as potential starting backs, though Shipley’s performance is questionable. Lamar Jackson’s absence due to a sprained ankle shifts fantasy value to Derek Henry and other Raiders wide receivers. The waiver wire is prioritized with manual Wilson, Tyree Keel (as a speculative bench option), and injured players like Keyon Coleman and Dante Myers, who could break out if their injuries are resolved. The show emphasizes the growing importance of injury reports, matchup analysis, and strength of schedule in making informed decisions. Fantasy managers are advised to focus on depth, use waiver wire targets strategically, and maintain flexibility due to the volatile nature of team rosters and injuries. The episode concludes with a reminder that player value is context-dependent, and success comes from blending analytics, injury awareness, and timely adjustments.
[MUSIC] >> Welcome in to Fantasy Focus, football alongside my playing field jades. Good for both of you guys being ready and prepared for that intro. >> Yeah, I was waiting to see for you reach down in the session. >> Well good, I'm good this time. >> Fantasy, yeah, okay, it's football. >> I got to try to do a little bit of the voice. >> You did? >> Yeah, I was ready today. I, you know, checked my phone one right before the music ended. >> Yeah. >> I had my mic ready. I took an allergy pull before the show today, so hopefully I could hold up. >> Is that what the problem was? Was allergies yesterday? >> Yeah, I think, yeah, certain times of the years. I don't you guys get that too? >> Wait, I don't. >> All in and get a little congestion. >> It's usually springtime for us to England. >> I don't know, I get it, I get it hit or miss. >> I think this is the thing. >> I know what it is. >> Clay eye is just susceptible to viruses, probably what the thing is. >> It could be. >> I was trying to weave in a joke like Mike is allergic to B Robinsons and after last night, we'll talk about that game and I have to, I would like to formally issue an apology and preemptively announcing said apology because it comes once we get into our Monday night football recap. >> Yeah, very excited about that. We got Monday night football recap. We're going to dive into the waiver wire here and a bunch of other fun segments like we always pay off starts of the week and whatnot. But with that, let's get in, by the way, just, do you want to talk about the news of Joe mix and getting signed by the Seattle team? >> We can mention it. Here's what I would say. >> You think it matters? >> We mentioned it. >> No, I think it matters. >> I think it matters. >> It's not that I think Joe mix and I stand alone value. It's that I felt like there was a chance, I don't know about a strong chance, but a chance that Zach Scharbenay could return and take hold of this backfield enough that he might matter in 10 team leagues. If there's a world in which you have Zach Scharbenay and Emmanuel Wilson and George Hollani, probably playing on passing down backs and Joe Mixon because they didn't bring him to the, Joe Mixon's not going to go to Seattle's practice squad to sit there for the year and just, you know, play scout team, right? He went somewhere with the idea that he could probably play soon. And Jardarian price is not a season ending injury. You have, you're going to have at least four backs that matter on the act of roster in given weeks. It may be that last yesterday was further confirmation that by far the most likely outcome for the Seattle backfield is it to stay away. Like enjoy the Emmanuel Wilson ride you had this past week and probably will have again this week because Zach Scharbenay is not going to play because sooner rather than later it's just going to be too many cooks in the kitchen. >> Yeah. We'll talk more about this backfield. I think you're in waivers, but I think at some point this year assuming their top guys get back to health, it'll settle into two guys. I don't know if it's going to be Scharbenay and price or Scharbenay and mix it because, look, maybe mixing just gets cut loose, you know, you play last year. Yeah. It's possible it doesn't work out. We see that all the time. So situation of monitor, but this is definitely a week by week proposition by the way, a state of how banged up they are. They also are signing Robert Henry Jr. from the commander's practice squad. Oh, by the way. Yeah. Hey, you know, he's, he's a talented runner at UTSA had some things in his background. But he, like they have to be on the roster for, for three weeks because of eligibility rules in the NFL. So for the next three weeks, they're carrying him, they're carrying a manual Wilson and George Hollande. Like maybe that's a sign that Zach Scharbenay who's not going to play this week might still be like two or three weeks away. So very cloudy backfield in Seattle will address a manual Wilson's value in waivers. Hey, is there a cloudy backfield in Atlanta with the way that these two were used this last night, guys? Let's talk about falcons. Do I mean to do my apology right now or no? You know what feel they do? Okay. All right. So you guys can flash the final score graphic. Cause it goes in the hands. I did. I thought about doing a recap of that time a couple of weeks ago when I went on, I wouldn't call it a rants, but I did have some thoughts on why on earth did the NFL schedule maker wake up really mad one morning and deliver us not one, not two, but three straight prime time games, Atlanta Falcons Thursday night football last week, Monday night football this week and Sunday night football against the Ravens this upcoming week, by the way, I'm thinking to myself really the Falcons, I owe the apology to the entire Falcons organization to the city of Atlanta to be John Robinson, specifically like God, you guys aren't just a team that I enjoy watching. Like you're one of the most enjoyable teams to watch in the NFL right now because you have an identity that running game is absolutely off the charts. So I apologize to Atlanta and to the Falcons for doubting your squad. I can't wait to watch them now on Sunday night against the Ravens and that mostly means the running game because B. John Robinson is preposterous. The 59 year I run at the beginning of the game. Oh my gosh. Is there, there's no way that B. John Robinson is that fast when he's also not efforting it all. No. He didn't look like he was trying. And the next thing, you know, he's 10 yards further down the field from any other player. How is this possible? Yes. It looked like when Mike is playing football with his daughters in the backyard and he's just so much faster than they aren't even that much faster. Yeah. No, no, they get me, they get me on a shoestring tackle. I can't get away anymore. He's amazing. He had only one catch last night for two yards and he's still one for 21.7. We were having this conversation briefly before the show, relitigating that number one overall pick. It doesn't really matter. Right. And him and Jameer Gibbs is it don't waste your energy on that decision. Waste your energy on your second, third, fourth, fifth, et cetera picks. And Jameer has outscored him in three or four games, and he is the number one scoring player in fantasy. All right. Excuse me. Second highest scoring player in fantasy. Number one is Jackson Smith and Jigba, but it's not like B. John has been anything other than brilliant. So what a joy is to watch B. John. Yeah. He has been fantastic. Exactly what you said. Nothing more to add there. Although, guys, he didn't even lead his team in touchdowns. He didn't even lead his team in rushing touchdowns. He wasn't even the highest score in Robinson. No, better be Robinson's on that. He wasn't. Yeah. The people who accidentally drafted Brian Robinson did okay. Yeah. He was so. All right. I mean, you weren't starting him, but maybe in best ball or something, but yeah, 14 carries 62 yards and three touchdowns for Brian Robinson. That one stung as some of you and I were going head to head with Alave and Drake London and you. We were what? You were up three going into the night. You ended up eating me. Um, but the Falcon scored 45 points and Drake London did not find the end zone. So I ended up coming up a little bit a bit short in this one, but uh, yeah, what is it? Now five, six, seven, eight, rushing two passing touchdowns for Atlanta since Michael Pinnix. Let's come back. Amazing. So I would say about the Falcons. Like B. John's amazing. Brian Robinson. Incredibly valuable insurance back. Obviously. He has a good player. Yeah. Uh, Drake London five for 94. This reminds me of what I said about JSN yesterday where I was like, man, it tells you how good JSN is that he goes for five for 76 and I'm like, damn it. Uh, Drake London's awesome. Five for 94 is a good number of him. It just felt a little bit disappointing after the 194 yards he had last week. But the Falcons, it is B. John and Drake London. That's it because another quiet night there for Kyle Pits. So the point that Michael Parsons is tweeting free Kyle Pits last three targets. Yeah. He wasn't even playing early on in this case. Yeah. They brought it up. It sounded like maybe like one decision. I don't know what's going on. It's it's wild. He seems like you, you're watching him on, you know, there's been a like a lot of commentary on Marvin Harrison Jr. and there's just not much energy there. Like I actually do see that from Kyle Pits. He's like hyping up his teammates with scoring and like, he's involved. But like, I, I don't know what's going on behind the scenes. But one more, one more note on Brian Robinson. You mentioned it's B. John. It's London. Brian Robinson. Not a guy you're running to the wave or why is he at? He's still to your point. Does not have standalone value. You know, he had the three touchdown game. That's not going to be sustainable moving forward. Or maybe I'm just trying to convince myself of that because you know what I did yesterday and one of my leagues dropped him. I dropped him before I retire a kill. No, Michael, but I'm okay with it. I'm okay with it because look, I'm not, you don't want to be spending on Brian Robinson. Next week, he's going to, you know, hold seven carries for 25 yards. Correct. Yeah. He's going to. So I can't wait for us to get a YouTube question that says, would you guys drop Brian Robinson this week for tirey kill? It's very, he's very Jordan Masony is what I was. Yes. He's rostered in 27% of leagues, but like you said, obviously a very valuable insurance back. If this is the way they're going to utilize their money back. The other side of this game because they're actually like a few more things to take away. Yeah. Till Travis, H&R, feel sure feels like it's going to be the Alvin Cameras. Sure does. Not that he was amazing last night as a runner, but he did have 23 rushing yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns. More importantly, for our purposes, seven targets last night. Yeah. Tons of volume for Tyler Shock, but with the way they play defense, I feel like that's going to be a fairly regular occurrence, maybe not this week because they play the Vikings. But generally, the same defense is going to keep them in a lot of shootouts. So Camera, the clear guy that is going to be the lead back in this backfield because I got to tell you guys, I don't, we don't understand the utilization for the Saints backfield, we haven't so far this season. Ice country Miller really playing for them, even. I don't know. He hasn't been going well. Six carries, nine yards, 10 yards and three targets. I mean, it just has not been very good, but also like at Camera's age, you can't run them into the ground. I mean, he's going to be limited. He actually left his game toward the end, like I, I don't know if he's going to see what they leave the game again. He missed the, he missed a little time during the game, I don't, I don't know where he came back. Yeah. I don't, I'm sure I'll be fine going for it, but the point is like at his age, he's not going to be a 20 touch guy. So there's room for someone else, and it's probably going to be Kendra Miller for the time being. He was terribly far behind him. I mean, the Williams, yeah, the truth is what it's going to be, is when he's healthy, it should be the Travis H and show. Of course. Like it should be. And this ain't shouldn't have wavered on that from the jump. I don't know why they did, but it's the Camera show. And then for the past catchers, like Chris Olave, what do you, the guys awesome, like he just whatever, every week is going to be one.
driver six and you're not going to blink. Do we think Devon Valle has enough value to be a flex weekly or is it like it was a lot of late production in garbage time last night? What do you guys think to your point though? They're going to keep throwing the ball. That's going to go to three guys and he's one of them. So until Jordan Tyson's back, yeah, I think he's in the flex. I think now that we have by weeks coming up, you're going to start having a smaller player pool. So I would be with Mike on that. My question is, in all four games so far, love that. And I didn't know the way you guys see the update. Yes, I did. I was just going to bring that up. By our way, Jordan Tyson, when we get it, it's going to be a little bit longer than we had initially planned or we had talked about at the start of this season. So yeah, chef, it's still weeks away. Yep. So we're in a spot where if you were wondering, hey, should I maybe try to sell high on Devon Valle before Jordan Tyson comes back? We have weeks until we get to that point. I think you just keep riding it as a potential flex option for your squad. Now, that was the thought. I remember when the Tyson news came out, the thought was, at least this is what I put on social and same fans and like it, but I believe it's a week eight buy for them. So week nine was probably the most logical target for them, which would put him right on track based on the latest report. By the way, we're going to get into this hopefully at some point this week, but the new look, strength of schedule charts come out this week. I'm going to drop these. They're going to be really cool. That's awesome. But so far, Saints, just a little preview here, 50 easiest for quarterbacks and receivers. So far, 26th going forward for both spots. So should tighten up a little bit on them, which is something interesting to keep in mind that could move the lay down a little bit bay lay down a little bit moving forward, but again, we'll get into that as a week. What a quagmire of a team they are. I did pick the Falcons last night. You guys may recall that. No, they deal. Yeah. But the Saints team came in with big expectations and Tyler Schucks got a lot of numbers through four games, but it felt like, again, it feels a little bit like circumstantial stat production. They just kicked themselves in the shin for the first half of these games, find themselves down big and next thing, you know, it's okay. Tyler Schucks got 286 passing yards and it looks good when you go to the espn.com stats page and you're like, wow, he's second to the NFL and passing yards through basically a quarter of the season, but don't feel like that offense is playing to expectation through the first four games. Who you guys taken to win the NFC South based off what we've seen through four? Oh man. Panthers, Falcons, both two and two Saints, one and three bucks, oh and four. I wanted to be the bucks. I'm right in the box off. Okay. I guess the panthers. I think so. I mean, panthers, Falcons. No, wait. Yeah. I mean, if Pentex keeps playing like this, it's going to be the thought. You know what's wild is they spent two first round picks on edge rushers last year and neither of them are a part of this team right now. And they're still holding down the four defensively doing a great job. The offense is maybe Pentex has just made the leap. There's a lot to like here. Yeah. You know how to probably lean Falcons at this point. One last question before we move on from this one. Do you think that Mike gets more excitement out of buying Christmas presents for his children or coming up with the strength of schedule full screens that we're going to see later on this week? Well, which one like that's him. Who many is that honestly? Yeah, I will. Yeah, the Christmas present thing. It's fun, but also it's it's stressful. Yeah. There's a lot of planning that goes expensive. So, uh, yeah, I don't know. Yeah, yeah. I'm still on this, though. Yeah. Pentex, that's just like a machine. Give us one little preview of like one player. He think benefits the most based off. I'm not ready yet. Okay. I'm not ready yet. Okay. I literally just put all this together this morning. So we'll save it. All right. I'm not ready yet. Not Tyler Shock, apparently. All right, guys, we're going to dive into starts of the week. Next, you know, we got a little bit of information, though, about a start to the week. Punishment we have from last week. I'd like for you guys to watch this right at time. All right, guys. Well, thanks to the corporate overlords. We are no longer allowed to do the beer mile, which was going to be a lot of fun for some people. It wouldn't have been fun for me. I would have done it, but it wouldn't have been a ton of fun. But they said, no, they put the kebash on it and said, you are not allowed to do that anymore. And so I have to spin the wheel and do something else. Luckily for me, I get to stay late for work and do this while field and mic have already gone home. So that's great for them. We're going to head into the studio right now, though. You got to push the button in order to make it work. Did you know that when the hair grows back on your leg, it also kind of hurts then too. So it's like a double punishment. I didn't know that. That's fun to find out that. So anyways, here we go. Another wheel spin. All right, guys. Okay. Smelling salt. Oh, guys. I care about what I put into my body. Can't you tell? Oh, this is going to be terrible. I have smelling salts right here in front of us. And I'm going to go through. And because Mike is going to someone else is going to have a spin the wheel. Either Mike or field is going to have a thing. I'm going to go through and can we ask a couple questions to all of the lineups. Yeah. Can I ask you a question? Have you ever done smelling salt as a football player? Okay. Do you have any tips you want to give me? Well, so we used to when I was working for the Patriots, I'm not going to lie to you guys. Like, I'm like, you dropped that. Yeah. Nobody deal. And I'm dropper. No, no, but seriously, like when you're like an 18 year old, like hanging around the players, like if these guys are doing smelling salts, like you think you're cool. You're like, I got this. And it's trips, right? You guys see Aaron Rogers still does them right before the game. You see him all the time. They're a little like they're a little stilleners, right? They look like really long skinny pillows. You crack them, hit them. It's a it's a monia that's inside of there. And it's it's just it wakes you up real fast and it gets you focused. It gets you wired. It lasts like 30 seconds. But for those 30 seconds, it's kind of cool. You're in it. Yeah. So do you have strips or do you have what do you have? I think it's not strips. This is just like salts inside of here. Okay. So I'm going to open this up and have a comparable effect. Yeah. It's not fun. But it's it's kind of I don't think that was the point. I don't think it fun was the point. What is the point if it's only 30 seconds? I mean, it just like to get your brain focused. Okay. And like then you let the adrenaline of the game kind of get it. Okay. Or also like there are listen, you're getting smacked around. Like sometimes it just wakes you up. Okay. Okay. All right. That's fair. All right. Guys, well, I'm going to read starts of the week and tell you how everyone did. I'm going to do a hit of smelling salts before I read every single line up. So we're going to start with who's line up first? I believe yours. Yeah. I'm going to start with mine. All right. My line up first. Whoa. Oh, that is. That's all yet. Rose. Oh, I'm getting a little whiff of it over here too. All right. I'll put the lid back on. My starts of the week. I'm not going to lie to you. Quarterback, you are a sicko Tyler Shock 15.9 fantasy points. I got bailed out by a touchdown late in that game. This might be the best starts of the week line up all year. Do you remember my love 6.5 10 row of McMillan 45.2 was half of your points and 22.4 points from Sam LaPorta on the other side of that game. Total of 90.4 fantasy points. That was a good one. Well done. That was a good one. All right. You're punished while showing that line up. Yeah. It's tough, right? Oh, that one was worse. That one was worse. I did more because like the first time I took it a little easy. Feel the start of the week. Oh, this one was trending in the right way. Marcus Marriota was like not great. Unfortunately, got banged up and left the game early 5.34. Aaron Jones 16.8. Chris Olave 19.6 and other nice outing and George Kiddell, Rumble and Bumble and and Stumbling is way to the end zone 17 fantasy points 58.74 for the entire week. Way to go. We've got to deal with that one. Don't do it again. That Marcus Marriota. I feel like that Marcus Marriota one. I was worried when that happens. I'm like, oh, you're in a loss of 40 and 40. Then be good because those are like three other guys at 16 plus is not bad. Is that safe to keep doing that? I don't know. I'm trying to see if it says. I think you're good on two. I don't do a brief inhalation. Do not exceed 10 times and 24 hours. So we're good. Good guy. We're all right. Seven more to go. All right. Best one. It really smells like cat urine. Like super unbelievable. Oh, and you have bad cat urine. So bad. People do this for fun on a football field. Okay. So counterpoint. How wired do you feel? I'm like, I'm going to be good to go for the show. But my gosh. All right. Here's Mike's lineup. Bryce young 21.46. That was good. Then Bucky Irving. 6.1. Nope. Then Josh Downs. 4.6. Nope. Then Darren Waller. I definitely talked Mike into that trick. 6.6 fantasy points. 38.76. I think Ted Eroh Mcmillan outscored your entire team. Didn't you do that to me once earlier this year? Well, I wasn't paying attention. Oh, okay. I have some excuse though that I could fire up. Yes. I'm sure that you do. I think the what we talked about with that lineup is I went very matchup heavy. And I knew on paper. I remember talking about this last week. Didn't look like the best squad. But I was thinking matchups. All about the matchups. It did not work out for me last week. You want to hit? Do it. No way. I don't think it's just I don't think it's kicked in anymore. I know. I'm good. I don't think it's strong enough anymore. You don't think it's strong enough anymore. And he's like a refurbishing of that. Oh, yeah. You lost me a cat urine. You want to try. I think he's saying it's not really that strong. Do you want to try it? Nope. It's not my punishment. What are you trying to do? You're going to share my punishment with me. I might have to. If you get the right thing. Yeah. I have to. All right. So Mike Clay is going to spin the wheel for setting the worst line up here in week four. We got buddy. Mike, your punishment is going to be and for those who'll see it at home. That was a really nicely gentle. Oh, no, no, no, you've got me kidding me. That is so lame. My leg into smelling salts and you get safe. What a perfect spin. You know, you said it took a nice safe spin. Landed right on safe. I'm so mad at now. Are you kidding me? Did my smelling salts? No. I can't on principle now. I can't punish myself. Did you run a projection of like how much muscle it is? Oh my gosh. I'm so mad. Yes. Damn it. That's how it's done.
done folks right there. Okay. Good process with the line up and the football gods. So how about this? Like, I am so sorry. Let's just recap through four weeks. What's happened to Daniel? Yes, our first week. I lose. Yes. We get double punishment. We spend once we get shared punishment. Yes. We spin it again. We get shared punishment. Then we get neck tattoos. Yes. Which for you is not really a punishment. But still you had to take part in it, right? Yeah. Second week. You lose. Third week. You lose. Fourth week. Mike loses and gets no punishment. Yes. Well, you both did smelling sauce. Let's have a conversation with the star. Seems rigged. Yes. I agree. How has Daniel failed you in the past? What have I done? How has he sinned, father? What? Thank you. I needed two of those four cases. You set the worst line up. So that's just. Oh my gosh. Let's talk about some long shots here. I did take a shot here with a panthers tight end. Did not work out in Tommy Trembl field. I think you are with Alec Io Manor and this one didn't work out. Mike did another thing that we've been doing all year though. You set a guy that actually played well just in the end zone. Yeah, we're like instead of getting scores, we're getting like good fantasy plays somehow. You'll believe Raymond. We need to start these guys as sleepers and fantasy or DFS. That's it's like trended toward that. But we are bearing on the lead because producer Q. He thought about this one long and hard. Pictory Horton who got in the end zone, baby. Let's go. I'm not going to lie. So like really well done by Q because I don't exactly know what the thought process is for toy Horton, right? Like toy Horton wasn't really playing very much. It feels like every pass goes to the JSN. Yep. And I guess the reality is that when you're drafting or picking players that are available in over 99.5% of leagues, there is no process. It's just good luck. So nailed it by Q. Hopefully he bet the end of time touchdown as well. Okay, you he was in on it. All right. That was a lot of fun. Oh, no, wait. Does that count? Do we move it down to two now? Yeah, it does count. Yeah, that counts. So now we're going to be available in 98. 99.7% so a point three or let's call it point three or just point three or under. That seems to be so. Yeah. Okay. They're rounded on the site. Again, just like if you are, if you've been, if you've been tailing these picks to hit twice in four weeks, it's a redonky. Like you'd be making money if you bet on all of the picks, right? Right. So something to consider. Something to consider. Let's talk about our knockout league update really quick and our buddy. Unfortunately, Matt Bohn did not survive the week was knocked out in this one. Joe burrow did him pretty good. But unfortunately, Jamar chase got banged up there. Wilson did not play unfortunately very well. Deandre Swift also had a tough one and then he had a couple of goose eggs on the bench. Do you guys know that Matt Bohns, you guys know this, but America needs to know this. Matt Bowen's son Grant is like one of the top five high school recruits for football in the country. Yeah, I think we talked about that a few weeks ago. Between him and Marcus Spears, we have just prodigy children coming from these families. Well, also, like your kids are going to have like, they share DNA with the greatest athlete. You know what I mean? Yeah, that's a good call. Yeah, I'm hoping that college is free for my kid for this because there's a lot of other wise, I might be toast. I'll be doing this podcast until I'm 90 in this rate. Let's dive into the priority waiver wire ads this week. Guys, we're going to start at the quarterback spot. You may have heard us have this story before. If you're playing the Detroit Lions, you might want to start the quarterback that's playing against them. Do it. Yes, Jacobi Bressette, taken on the Detroit Lions available in 90% of leagues. Bryce Young actually scored the fewest points. The quarterback has scored against the Lions this last week. He scored what 21.7? 1.5, 21.5. So what the bad quarterbacks have been top 10 quarterbacks. You should grab Jacobi Bressette, not just off the waiver wire. You should put them directly into your starting lineup. If you need somebody. Yeah, no doubt. 18.9 fantasy points per game last year. He hasn't been quite there so far this season 16 and a half. Then he, he's got two does six and a half and 10.4. Also at a 25.6. And the week he actually got to 25. He required 52 pass attempts. So the production hasn't been quite as good. 5.4 yards per pass attempt. Efficiency has been down. I think the Lions could probably fix a lot of that. But you know, I look back. I was kind of curious because Bressette's now at about a full season with Arizona. 16 games now as her starters, it's taken over for Kyler 31 total touchdowns. Yeah. So he got the job done for most of last year. And he does that. Look, he does have two passing touchdowns exactly in two straights. So he's trending the right way. And again, your Lions most touchdowns allowed with 11 already. The four games. So I'm with you. Great streamer this week. But Shatter is starting to pick up about whether the team will eventually turn the keys over to Carson Beck. Some saying like, why not do it now? It's clear this season is going sideways. Don't think it's going to happen in week five. And if Carson Beck does start in week five, even with that good of a matchup, having never played an NFL regular season snap before, would not feel nearly as good about the Cardinals offense. I agree. I think it's ways down. But before they make a quarterback change, maybe the trade deadline is where it becomes interesting if a team needs a quarterback. But remember, it's not just about the quarterback. It's also about the skill guys. And they have to get the ball to Michael Wilson and Trey McBride. And Jeremiah, you know what I mean? So I think we have a little time on this one. Just a quick note. Does feel like Marvin Harrison, Jr. to the Colts is starting to like percolate a little bit, which I don't know if that resurrects his fantasy value. But is that real or is that I think starting to like his dad, like that's why people are bringing it up. Or it's a real. I think this is like, I think there's a non zero chance now. Where I think we've got we've graduated. But there's plenty of pressure on that GM. So it's valid. So no first round. We could see some moves. Yeah. All right, let's talk about the rest of them because I think we should weave some really important news in here as well, Dana, but give us your next priority ad. And if there's anything relevant news wise, we'll talk about that too. Yeah, right now. And we kind of talked about this at the top of the show. But a manual Wilson, if you needed somebody for this week, with the way he played last week would be the guy that we are looking at and to reiterate knows X sharpened in this week. Correct. And knows X sharpened this week. And we don't know when he's going to come back. Still hasn't been designated when we know you will be part of this offense. I would still add X sharpening off a waivers. If I had an open waivers, excuse me, an open IR spot. If I already had someone that I liked in the IR spot, I wouldn't add them. But I would definitely look at a manual Wilson as the priority ad. And then we unfortunately found out for the Philadelphia Eagles tank Bixby also got hurt. So we're not sure what's going to go on with take on Barclay. We know tank Bixby is going to be out for a couple of weeks. Will Shipley guys as someone that you're looking at? How much faith would you have if you had to start Will Shipley? No, Mike's shook his head. No, okay. I mean, there's a lot of volume available because name the Eagles fourth running back. Have you counted? It's probably going to be Damian Pierce. I would imagine, but they also have Carson steel name from the past. Carson steel and Jaden blue. So there are the options. Two of those guys will be up this week, assuming Barclay's week to week is out. We know Bixby's definitely out. So I guess this will be Shipley, but this is a guy that's never had 10 carries in a game before he's had some passing even involvement so far this season. I suspect he'll be the leader, but probably max is out is half half the carries and a couple of targets as well. I remember they're playing Jacksonville. They're allowing 2.8 yards per carry. So for running back, the best run defense is in the lead. Yeah, we just want dump offs. That's what Will Shipley does though better. He's a much better pass catching back. I think you said it quickly. So just for those that maybe have missed it. St. Juan Barclay is now week to week with the hamstring injury, which, you know, it's not that's not specific. Like could he play this week? I guess it's theoretically possible. I would say week to week. If someone has listed week to week, I pulled them out of the projections. There's a reason they didn't say day to day. Not this week, but potentially as soon as next week. It did not look good for say, Juan Barclay, when he pulled up and we've seen hamstring injuries cost players multiple weeks on plenty of occasions. Those would be the only two running backs that we're really looking at so far this week that are going to get starting runs and that would be Emmanuel Wilson and Will Shipley. Anyone else that you guys like? I don't really like Will Shipley, but he's just another one to add. I would add this to the Will Shipley conversation. The volume, I think, might be better than what might just mention 50% or so of the snaps or total touches. I would also note though, like not all touches, and opportunities are created equally. They're going up against Jacksonville, which Mike just alluded to. And it is like the third string offensive line is going to play behind in a struggling offense as it is. Lane Johnson will see he missed this past week's game due to personal issues. Cam Jurgens, who is a player that they have been leaning on at center, is now in the concussion protocol. Landon Dickerson already placed on Ninja Reserve. Daniel's taken smell and salt. He might have to be in there. I think I'm addicted now, guys. So it's a banged up offensive line. They don't play with the fullback. And so it's not like they have different ways to create running lanes there. It's kind of messy right now, Mike, for your Philadelphia Eagles. Shipley, I do think needs to be added because running backs are so paper thin, but his outlook relative to a guy stepping into a starting role is not that rosy. Yeah, it's going to be, it could be one week of Shipley and it might not be very good. You might not get to double digit fantasy points. So don't overspend. Just what I would say, I'm not going to go out of my way for Will Shipley unless I absolutely am desperate for for an RB two this week. And you might be with the injuries and and don't worry, don't forget Ken Walker and Chuba Hubbard are on a buy. So you might need him because I was going to say to you, like, don't don't go crazy. It's not a great waiver. Why are we? This week won't again. And Jacobi percent only makes sense if you're something like if you've been starting the likes of a bone X or try to think like Justin Herbert or one of my lowest rank quarter record max this week. Who does make it this week? That one's okay. That one's okay. But even like Jared Officer, great. He's also a great streamer. Yeah, I'm just saying like it. Yeah, like, you know, playing over Jalen hurts. Yeah, I played Jacobi percent. That's a good example too. Yeah. If you have, but if you've are, you know, like the number of people that have a quarterback that aren't going to mess around with Jacobi percent, if you have Josh Allen,
if you have Lamar in this conversation now, we should discuss is that Joe, uh, Lamar Jackson sounds unlikely to play this week. Yeah. So we'll talk about Stu Puntley and what that means for the value of Zay Flour. It's kind of the only impacted player. If there's a silver lining of sorts of Lamar missing time, it's that Derek Henry is still going to be startable. And the Raiders are a one man passing attack that is a guarantee to be in your line. Mark Andrews on the periphery, but Mark Andrews hasn't exactly been lighting it up with Lamar. Zay Flour has been. Yeah. He was, uh, Lamar was one I couldn't read through the words. It was like something like it's not a super long term injury or I can't remember exactly what the quote was off the top of my head, but I was like, yeah, it's, is that mean there's been subsequent reporting this morning for me in rap port, which is let's see. Let me get the exact terminology from in which is how many quarterbacks then while field looks this up. Oh, you got it. Lamar Jackson is dealing with the sprained ankle that gives him only an outside chance to play against all right. So he'll be out of the projections today. So Lamar Jackson out of the projections, which is brand new. Yeah. It's like on the way into the box. We know we're going to be without Bryce Young and Patrick Mahomes. There's a good chance you don't want to start Jalen Hertz this week. You don't want to start Justin Herbert. There's a handful of guys that we would have had inside the top 10 that like now all the sudden Jacobi Preset at least comes into the conversation. But I want to talk about some wide receivers guys to do it. Yeah. These are very interesting. Keyon Coleman. Keyon Coleman and Dante Myers both. They had really nice games for their squads. Do you think that there was enough here that this is a potential investment opportunity for something more in the future? Yeah. Well, I mean worth noting that there are opportunities. Yeah, exactly. Bangas in concussion protocol. Yeah. That assisted Dante Myers. DJ Moore dealing with that shoulder injury. That assisted Keyon Coleman. So neither of those guys is a lock to play in week five, which means that both of these players Dante Myers and Keyon Coleman are both at least of that. Yeah. These are both if thens to make. Yes. Yes. Yes. That's a good way to put it. And if then they'll have from our guy. From our guy out his item fell. Yes. Use that all the time for DFS. Yeah. Yeah. Certainly. And if then, I mean, if if the other guys out, you can consider these guys. But that's it. I mean, Coleman has one catch for one yard and one catch for 37 yards in the two games. Moore is played in full. The two. He's been out six for 63 and six for 116 and a touchdown. So, yeah, obvious if then there by the way, they're playing the Rams too. So even if for is how it'd be tough. Coleman is going to have his hands full here. The Rams are mid pack and fantasy points to receivers. But that's due to six touchdowns. It's a little inflated. They've a lot of the fewest passing yards this season and the second lowest EPA against the past. So they've been really tough and really enough to a slow start. I mean, that's for Myers. Yeah. He was terrific last season. Good stat line 7 for 82 at five targets a week before. But again, we've talked about this. Yeah. The problem with playing Miami is that you're not throwing the ball very much. You don't have to. Miami's allowed one touchdown and the third few as fantasy points to wide receivers so far. Only Rishi Rice has gotten to 11 and a half points against them. He's the only one. So that's that's a little bit dangerous, especially if T Higgins or Jamar chase are able to go in this game. Again, I'm not going to overspend on Myers. I'm more likely to spend up a little on Coleman just because he might actually be breaking out. Like at some point, he might emerge as a a guy. We feel like it's a flex option, even with DJ Moore because all in concaits going the wrong direction. And Khalil Shakira, we know he's not going to be using the goal line. So it's at least possible. Keon Coleman to have any year, three breakout. It's just one a guy that you would keep on your bench. Adam Sheftar tweeted yesterday. Maybe it was late Sunday night that DJ Moore's shoulder injury was a re-aggravation of the prior one. It is not considered serious. Sorry. It's not considered long-term as him right now. So. Okay. Could that be that he is, you know, is he out this week? I would say not considered long-term right now means he could be out this week. I would think so. I agree. It's a, it's a toss up. I tried to, he's still in the projections is DJ Moore, but I try to be a little bit conservative lately in the week. And then today we'll learn something. I was saying just to, if you're considering Keon Coleman on the waivers, and when Mike is saying spend up on waivers, I hope people understand, he means if you have a fab budget, free agent acquisition budget. Yeah, or use your claim. Yeah. I mean, I'm just saying I'm more likely to go after Coleman. And when I say spend up by, by the way, a couple bucks, you know, like it's, there's a difference between throwing one dollar at a guy to fill out your bench and maybe going up, you know, I'll do five dollars this week on Keon Coleman. I understand. No, I'm not saying 40, you know, not everyone does leagues where you have fab, but more often than not, our leagues will have a waiver priority. And I get to a spot sometimes where when you have a high waiver priority, it's like, is this the week that I really want to use my number one claim on these guys or do I want to save it for another week where there might be a better option? I'm not sure if I have number one waiver priority. Anyone's like screaming at me this week that I have to grab. Well, also it depends on whether your waiver priority sets each week resets are we? Correct. Yes. Exactly. Yeah. Which many got to know your rules. All right. Let's go on one more. Okay. A wide receiver spot. It's Tyree Keel worth an ad. A speculative ad at the version would you drop Brian Robinson Jr. Tyree. That's what I need to know. I will, you know what, is a make good. If you want Brian Robinson Jr. back, all Adam off of waivers and you can trade me be showing back. Okay. All right. I mean, one, your guy had more touchdowns in my guy. So that's yours like an easy call. Yeah. Look, I think Tyree Keel is worth just ad and your bench again. I'm not going to spend a lot here because we don't even know if he what he has left. If he's going to be, if he's going to sign with the team or want him to go, what if he doesn't go to the chiefs or somewhere else, and what if he still, what if I do too? I think that's the most likely outcome. But what if they not even be startable in fantasy? Yeah. You might be a situational guy. I will say this the last time we saw him 7.2 targets per game, 5.3 catches 66 yards, 13.4 fantasy points per game. That was the first four weeks of last season before. What was the major injury? Obviously. So there's still a lot of to learn here. A lot has to go right for him to be fantasy relevant. It's actually in 10 team leagues, but remember is it also possibly is 130 yards and two touchdowns in week six week 17 and helps you win your league? Yes. So that's why he's fine as a speculative end of bench guy, much like an insurance running back for the time being. That's well said. Is that like end of bench? It's know your needs, know your roster, right? And as you look at players that are available on the waiver wire right now, how many of them have championship equity for your team, right? And the answer is not that many. Tyree kill might not have any either. But if you had to take guess of like who's more likely to help you with a title with a strong second half push, is it Dante Myers or is it Tyree kill? Tyree kill. So that's kind of how I calculate these things is like if I'm going to really if I'm desperate, I'm one in three or oh and four and I have to win just to keep my season afloat, then I can't use my waiver priority on Tyree kill. Do you know why Tyree kill is listed as out, which makes them are eligible in our game. Well, he's hurt. But he's a free agent like you can be listed as out if you don't have a team to give you a designation. I guess so. Yeah. Okay. I guess so. Yeah. By the way, I agree 100%. There's that's the tricky part of fantasy. Sometimes sometimes you need to add someone because you need to fire him up for a week, like maybe last week you picked up Bryson, Tremaine and a 16 team league because you had needed a wide receiver badly and it was a great matchup. But you're not just going to leave him sitting on your bench now like you want a guy with more upside. I think kind of funny. Just going to give you guys a random name that kind of fits this bill. When I'm looking at, let's say I throw a guy in I.R. Sunday morning, ready. He's ruled out. Yeah. And I'm looking at waivers trying to find like a guy that fits that bill, a guy that could be a league winner. Yep. Seth McGowan. All right. Like guys like that are the guys that you just want to throw on there because if something happens to Jonathan Taylor. Yeah. That's where everyone's going on the waiver wire next week. He will be the guy we talk. If Taylor was out for the season, he would be the only guy would be talking about today. Seth McGowan, you got again, they don't really have anyone else at running back and they might go acquire someone, but McGowan the next week might see 18 touches and they seem to like him a lot. He was a day three traffic this year, but they seem to like him and he's the clear number two in a good situation there. So those are that kind of guys you want to fill out the end of your bench. It's not quite Alexander Madison behind Dalvin Cook, but Seth McGowan has a little bit of the Jonathan Taylor aesthetic to him that when he's in the game and gets a carrier, I'm like, there we go. Maybe more yards for JT. And then it's like, no, that's Seth McGowan, my bad. I take it back. I thought that was 20 last night. It wasn't Brian Robinson 17 and 15. Oh, is he 15? Okay. All right. They never mind. I didn't like it. He still has the same size body as as Bajon Robinson. I didn't like seeing that guys. Let's take a couple of questions from the YouTube chat. If you don't mind follow our buddy, Eric Moody at Eric and Moody everywhere on social media, hanging out with all the people here and chat with us. This first one comes from Peter Vossaluk wants to know Matthew Golden or RJ Harvey. I think golden. Come on. I think RJ Harvey, like the 10 targets is probably a mirage. I would agree with that. Yeah. Definitely. Do you know, Matthew Golden has like seven more targets than Christian Watson? I mean, his he has consistently been in the 20 mid 20% target share. I mean, he's he's rolling. I think you can make a case for Golden over Watson. I'm I'm given a slight edge in my ranking. So Watson, because he has that upside and the scoring equity, but it's I think you can make the case. It's getting close. Do you guys know many Broncos fans? Do I know many Broncos fans? Like what do Broncos fans feel about this offense right now? Yeah. Yeah. Very. That's a good question. A lot of the teams like that this year. They're like, how? Yeah. How are they worse? Yeah. Jaylen Waddle. He's still going to lead online. Yeah. Well, next is year three. You still have Sutton. How is he? How is it worth? No idea. No idea. I mean, the only thing you can point to is the change really is the play collar. So hopefully that'll improve for them. Yeah. All right. Next question we have from our chat. Fully baked wants to know, debated on dropping Jalen Hertz for Jacobi Brissette. Am I crazy? I also have Bryce Young on my bench. I think that's a little too quick of a hook on Jalen Hertz. Would you drop Bryce Young then for Jacobi Brissette? I'm not even sure I do that.
I would pick up like there's is there nobody on your bench that's would you roster three quarterbacks and order them? Okay, with one of them on a buy and one of them at a bad matchup. Absolutely. Okay. Yeah. I don't even know if Jalen hurts is going to outscore Bryce showing the rest of the season. This holy but again, I said this just right. I want to excuse some of herts because there's so many injuries. I mean, they're dealing with more injuries and they're getting really that's being discussed. So it's been rough. I mean, we started at the very beginning of the year talking about how the Eagles, I'm excited for the rest of this week. They had a very easy schedule. Now that we're a month into the season, I'm excited to be able to relook at it and see kind of where that falls for Jalen hurts when we dive in later this week. That's a, I got to be honest with you. That's a tough one. When you say like dropping Jalen hurts is one of those things that the ones that you regret the most when you when you plant your flag on something is when it's that you're betting against the established superstar. Yeah. Even if there are real warning signs, I've been guilty of this throughout my career at ESPN, like being a year too late, rather than a year too early to count out a team that you're like, not or not, like just by default, they're still in the mix, right? I was with, I feel like when Seattle and now they're back at the top, but like when they were still kind of hanging around with Russell Wilson at the end of his time in Seattle, I was like, no, no, the sea ox will find a way they'll be there. I've had plenty of those. Remember the Patriots that last year that time reading their plenty of examples. And like, am I fully confident that Jalen hurts as a top 10 quarterbacks the rest of the season? No, am I sort of confident, sort of confident, but that's a far cry from where I had been with Jalen every other year. This question in some ways feels outlandish and it could make you look ridiculous. If you drop Jalen hurts and he gets it going so that you can have one bite at the apple against the lions, which you could be brisette. I think that, but my god is telling me there's got to be somebody else in your roster that you can drop a hold in Jalen hurts. Yeah, I think so maybe for now. I think there's also a real chance that remember Jalen hurts has never put up huge passing numbers. He's been relying on that elite rushing. If he doesn't have that, is he just like a infer from a fantasy perspective, like a Kyler maybe Otis or a fantasy producer. He might be. He might be a perspective too. He might be a French QB one going forward in fantasy. If he's not putting up those elite passing numbers, I will say this day again, tipping this a little bit, but the schedule still looks really good for the Eagles moving forward. The playoff schedule is brutal, but over the next few months, it's still pretty light. All right. I think I agree with field. I would try not to drop Jalen hurts, but I think we will all have Jacobi brisette probably ranked ahead of Jalen hurts this week and our week five rankings. All right. One more question here. Roddy wants to know, do we hold on a mecca? Booga? Are we looking for trades? If you're trading right now, you're trading too low, right? Yeah. Exactly. That's the problem. Bench not drop. Yeah. You really just have to hold just hold. That's it. I just look for this week. Why do you see her 43 in my rankings for this week? Even with Jalen Daniels, but when Baker comes back, maybe they get it rolling and he's back in the top 20 conversation, but right now he should be on benches. I have trade advice that's in a vacuum. It's not specific to this or just in general, because I think we're starting now that the season has a bit of a sample size, you're starting to see some people want to move and shake a little bit. The best thing that you can do for me with trades is be fair from the jump. Yeah, like to get a good player, you probably have to get up, give up a good player. To get a great player, you might have to give up two awesome players or two very good players, but these chemically and balanced trades just come across as disingenuous and it's like, do you want to do business or not? It sucks, right? It sucks when you have to give away a good player, but you're not going to be able to hoodwink somebody into giving them like, dude, like I'm telling you, like I really do think you should be giving me Jonathan Taylor. You know what, field? You might be able to do that, but don't be that person in the league that prays on the people that don't have as much knowledge because there's always a handful of people. But let's assume like leagues where like people are all kind of like generally invested. Like the idea of being like, listen, Jonathan Taylor for Terry McClure and DK Medcalf, like let's make a deal. Right? Like is that really like that's, I mean, that's going to be what gets a Jonathan Taylor trade done. Probably not. Probably not. So probably want something more for that. Yeah, of course you want some more. You probably want, you know, a really good running back and I will say there's nothing worse than making a trade offer and it's immediately accepted. Just like, oh, did I. I should have done that. I was too much. And I overpay. I mean, we were, you know, we're going to be more thoughtful with our offers. So that's not really something we're going to be too worried about. If we make an offer, obviously we feel like it's fair to us. But in general, it's just like, oh, maybe I, maybe I gave up a little too much if they hit the, because I've been there the on the other direction where I get an offer and I'm like, I can't like, how do I get in and accept a yes. We wanted to have in a dynasty league in this offseason where someone offered us their 2027 first rounder for pick 1.1 this year. This was before it was, it was late last season. It was during the season. Like, yeah, we'll take the guaranteed 1.1 a year earlier. And we, I couldn't all get faster. You know, I love right. I mean, of course, took Jeremiah love. Yeah. Yeah. All right, let's do it. We're going to dive into a new segment here, guys. We got a month into the season. We got a little bit of a history now that we can look back on with these players, a little bit of a sample size. I'm bringing some blind box scores to the table. I know who these players are. Yeah, I'm bad. Mike and field do not. But there were some things that I thought were noticeable when I looked through the first month of the season. And then we're just going to discuss what we think about these players afterwards. So I'm going to give you guys player one from a blind box score. You can see on the YouTube feed if you're watching from home. First player, four catches for 40 yards, 10 targets in week one for eight fantasy points. Okay. Four for 27 and nine targets and six point seven in week two, three for 31 and a touchdown, only five targets, though in week three. And then five for 115 on nine targets in week four for 16 point five fantasy points. One of the things that stands out to me there guys. And the reason why it was so big was the number of targets. I mean, nine plus targets in three of four games here. Do you think you know who this player is? I do. I'm a sicko. I don't. I don't. My thought was KC conception. Um, but there's no carries there. So it's not him. Um, he's wide receiver 10 and targets. Yep. Wide receiver four in routes run and wide receiver one in snaps played. It's also, do I want to give him a guess? Um, yeah, you can. He's also wide receiver one in muscle distribution and CK Metcalf. Oh, this is in fact DK Metcalf. Call. When you look at this, is there any reason to be a little bit more optimistic about DK Metcalf's volume with us not seeing Michael Pittman materialized the way that Mike and I hoped he would at least we talk about volume being king. This isn't that kind of an offense where Aaron Rogers necessarily brings you a ton of excitement with what he brings to the table. But would you say no to nine plus targets? Is there something more here to DK Metcalf than what we're seeing? Um, here's what I would say is that in back to back weeks, Aaron Rogers had a yards per attempt. Yep. I think even an air yard per attempt. Oh, guys, over 10 yards. Yeah. Wow. Aaron Rogers is being much more aggressive than the field right now. That bodes very well for DK Metcalf. Sure does. For the limitations he may have is amongst the best deep ball threats of the last, what, 25 years in the league. Yeah. He's an exception. He's a rare deep ball threat. So, he has a pulse this week. Top 30 play should be in line up. So I would say only wide receiver 32 and fantasy points, but wide receiver 10 in targets. I'm assuming there are more expected fantasy points on type there. When you look at this dealer's wide receiving core, though, honestly, DK Metcalf is actually second on the team behind Roman Wilson. Yeah, who barely played last week, by the way, I believe his target share was 30%. So Roman Wilson's still very clearly third or sometimes fourth in line, too, because Jeremy Bernard's getting mixed in. We'll see if that number goes up for now, though, Wilson, not startable Metcalf is. And obviously Pitman borderline rosterable, but I'm going to write about him for the playbook this week. I'm optimistic. Or I'm hopeful they'll get him going at some point, but so far. So I would drop Michael Pitman for Jacobi Brissette. If I also had Jalen Hertz. Yeah, I actually have a league in which I put that waiver claim in literally starting. He did not. No, I promise. We have a very short bench. And so the options are limited. Can I ask, is the point of this like once we see the blind box gorgeous? I just want to talk about it. And just like you think sort of you're assessing up or down. Yeah. After the first month of the season, we all agree going in the right direction. And I would have said opposite. I would because Mike and I were very into Michael Pitman. One of the things that we saw from Aaron Rogers earlier this or last season was he just wasn't throwing the ball deep now after the first month with them kind of volume that he's getting and Aaron Rogers pushing the ball down field. I think there's a little bit more excitement around DK Metcalf than we did. Then we had to start the season. I'm just hoping with Pitman because remember five straight years of just heavy usage and production in Indianapolis. It doesn't make sense for them to acquire him. Haven't played basically all the snaps and run all the routes and just not throw him. I'm hoping there's a little bit of memories out week two like Richie Rice to him where maybe he's just not there yet. And he's not being featured in the game plan. And then that'll change as the season goes on. If not, I don't know what they're thinking. I don't know why they acquired him. Next four weeks are Indy Tampa, New Orleans and then a buy. So they've got a nice little schedule there for DK Metcalf coming up. All right. Here's another guy that want to throw up here a blind box score through the first month of the season. This player. Oh, I know this one. Five for one 30 and 18 points. Seven for 95 and a touchdown, 22 and a half points and then two for 38, 3.8 and one for seven here in week four. Yeah, I got this one. I'm going to let you, I mean, you don't have to hold on then. Let field stew for a second. Give me a moment here. This player. I believe I'm writing. Yeah, I am. This player leads his position in the average depth of target. Okay. Hey, keep giving you hints. He's still a line of block. Right in the bottom in the playbook. Because he's trending the wrong direction is training the wrong direction
- Like the sixth round I would say by the end of draft season. - Totally flummoxed by who this is. - He's one of his teammates might be getting traded soon. - 77% of his targets came when he was lined up at the wide receiver position that is wide. - He was shadowed half the time last week. - Dalton Kincaid has been so bad. - What? That's, oh my God, I was wrong. Who did you think it was? - I was so confident that I was right. - Wow. - Who is this? - I thought it was Parker Washington. - No! - Wow! - It was like, it's like the same thing. - Oh my God, I was so confident. - Guys. - Why didn't you stop me from giving all the terrible hints? - I'm letting you do this. You're the one that wants to talk about it. - I know what you have the answer. - I do have the answer, Dalton Kincaid. - Wow. - Trending the wrong direction, guys. - I gotta look at this now. - Are we in a spot where you're looking at Dalton Kincaid? - Don't go deeper on that one. - Yeah. - And you say to yourself, we thought we had something. - Yeah. - And now where it's like, shoot. Everything that we thought, this is just Dalton Kincaid from last year and the year before and the year before, is that where we're at through the first month of the season? - I was a member after week two. I was like, this could be the breakout. - The breakout. - Obviously football. - Yes. - And that would not be. - Instead, it's like it'd been an outbreak of sadness and disappointment for Dalton Kincaid. - So what do you do here? - Because that's, I think the question the people that either added Dalton Kincaid or maybe the very rare people that drafted Dalton Kincaid is, if you added him, are there options that you would turn to instead? - Like go to a way of a wire. - No. - Right now, no. - No, not if he used the guy you're set on, like in the FFC league, which is, you know, 10 team league. I had Tyler Warren and then I picked up Dalton Kincaid. So I could just go back to the well with Tyler Warren, which is what I did last week. - I think that's a good example of sticking with Tyler Warren. I just don't know that given some of the injuries and just given the fact that there have been a couple players who haven't come close to realizing sort of the potential we hope for them coming into the season, I think Dalton can engage, just fits into that big old bucket of-- - Yo, yo, players. - You use the bullish. - Yeah, it ends? - Yeah, I mean, I was obviously terribly wrong on that, but one thing that was accurate that I said is that, I did write about him for the playbook. So the problem when I was looking at it was, I was like trying to figure out a rhyme or reason for what has happened. And I don't really have one. I mean, week one, the playing time was there. Week two was Detroit. I mean, you can excuse it on that. - DJ Morgane. - DJ Morgane. - Though, but the last two games, I don't know. - He's not playing. - One time, he's productive, I don't know. - It still feels to me like this offense is like what we saw from the Packers last year, where it's just like one week, it's gonna be Keyank Holman, one week, it's gonna be Dalton King. - Or one week. - It's gonna be Dawson Knox, one week, yeah. - Or what we've seen from King Kate's whole career so far. - It's just, like maybe it's just what it is. - On which week is gonna be the week that he smashes? So unfortunately, probably not the guy that you hoped after the first two weeks, but we'll see whether or not we keep starting on here as we dive into the release too, for sure. - All right, well yeah, I know one of them now. - Yeah. - Last two we have, it's a little bit of a back to back. We're gonna see which wide receiver would you rather have? - These are the season stats. 28 targets, 18 receptions, 225 receiving yards for 40 fantasy points, on the left side, right side, 26 targets, only two less, 16 receptions, two less, 228 receiving yards, only three more. And two touchdowns for 51.1 fantasy points. - All right, so the reason why I know both these players are is because you gave us, or at least our rundown has the game by game outlook for these two players. - Correct. - I think if you were just reading the information or watching the information that Daniel gave you a moment to go, when you've got a guy who was drafted in the top three rounds without a touchdown so far of this season, there's sort of like one guy that's not like the others. And who would that player be? - I'm spacing on it. - I don't know. - Really? - Yeah, I like it. - Oh yeah, of course. - Right? - Yes, okay, yeah. - George Pickens is one of them. - And the targets have been there for the most part. Like not tearing down, but not terrible so far. - George, you're seeing on that graphic. - Has six targets, eight targets, 11 targets, and then three targets this last week. So not terrible, but it has not found the end zone. Parker Washington though, is a different conversation. This is Parker Washington's last month. - And by the way, these are, it's pretty similar to Taken Gated. - It is quite as bad in that third game, but five or 83 in a touchdown on six targets for 19.3 fantasy points, huge week one. Seven for 98 on 12 targets in week two for 16.8 fantasy points. And then week three, three for 40, a touchdown, but only five targets, 13 fantasy points, and then week four, one catch for seven yards on three targets. - The exact same stat line is done. So he's had six or fewer, Parker Washington, six or fewer targets in three of his four games. That's not like the strong end wide receiver two that we've kind of been billing him as in this offense. - Okay, so I think there are a couple of ways to qualify this. - Yeah, why is this happening? - Well, so the first two games of this season for Jacksonville actually were competitive. - Yes. - Well, the first, they had to throw them all a little bit. Especially in that second game against Denver. Third game against the Patriots. They waxed the Patriots 35 to six. He scores a touchdown, but there was also a sequence where if my memory has this play by play totally correct, it was in the like like deep goal line, like five yard line, target for Parker Washington incomplete pass, target for Parker Washington incomplete pass, target for Parker Washington touchdown, called back because of penalty, very next play, target for Parker Washington touchdown. He scores. Last week, so that like those five targets in a game in which the Patriots were getting, like there just wasn't that much volume. - Yeah. - Trevor Lawrence threw 23 passes last week and Parker Washington, this wouldn't have totally changed the narrative, but at the end of the game, it was a seven yard catch that he was like half an inch away from turning into a 40 yard catch. Some of the first read stuff, if you buy into first read metrics, it's really strong for Parker Washington. Trevor Lawrence is playing awesome. Yucca Washington is awesome. And I think Mike, you mentioned this on Monday, he got DJ Turner to this play. - Yeah, half of his routes were against DJ Turner. They had Turner shadowing him and all of his, I believe 100% of his perimeter routes were against Turner. - So you, I think I feel pretty good about Parker still. - Me too. 13 plus and three games so far, he is a 26% target share. Often it's very good to your point. I mean, by the way, they're playing the Eagles this week. They've got 19 plus fantasy points to three different receivers. And their last two games, so it's, you know, people have been, or receivers have been productive against that defense recently. So not really sweating this went too much. - Which one would you rather have rest of season? - George Pickens or Parker Washington? - Probably still Pickens. - Man, that's close. I kind of want to look at the projections. I don't know. - Pickens is, so, I like that Washington. More upside in case of potential injury to a teammate, right? Parker Washington is just, I still think the clear wide receiver one of his squad. It's just as they're as much upside to his game as George Pickens potentially has. - They're Washington and a little bit ahead. 17 and 22. - 17th and 22nd the projections going forward. Yeah, I mean, and by the way, I'm still optimistic about Pickens. - I think they'll be startable. I think they're both fine. I think they're both wide receiver twos. But I'm buying on Washington a little more. - Pickens has started slow if he had just found the end zone. And one of these games, I think it would feel different when you look at this box score. And that's going to eventually come to fruition. - So, here's a, I think a way of describing the difference. Here's an important dynamic in play here for these two guys specifically, is would you say you're more frustrated or concerned? - Frustrated. - Right. And it's 'cause it was sounding like a little bit more of concern on Parker from you and a little bit more frustrated. - That's a good segment idea. - Pickens frustrated or concerned. - You get what I mean though? - Yes, no, I'm not concerned about Parker, but I wanted to walk through the exercise of his six targets, five targets, three targets, which is what we did based on how the game script worked out. - You're saying potential cell high? - No, on Parker Washington. - All right, I would not sell high. I would hold Parker Washington. - Got it. - Yeah, I like that. - Future segment idea right there. - That's like I'm not mad, I'm disappointed. - Yes. - Like that. - Exactly. - It's different. - It's different as you had that conversation with your parents growing up. - I had to tell them a couple times. I was not mad, but disappointed in them. - Yeah, you're right, feels. - I'm a maybe wack. - Sorry, mom and dad. - So it actually, you did recently. - Yeah, you did recently. - Oh my gosh, guys, I had no idea. It has to go through the skin and then it's like, oh, prickly, I'm like a little cactus. It's not fun. - Well, you could just keep shaving it. - You want us to wax it again for you? - No, Michael, that's it. - Isn't there some cream called like, nair and rubs off hair? - It does. - I got a feeling that if it just rubs the hair off, it might not be good for your body. And I do care about what I put into my body, guys. So with that being said, thank you for hanging out with us. Shout out to these smelling salts. - I can't, I don't know. - Local's pharmacy. - Yeah.
