Like, I have a bunch of different work things. Some things will be announcing soon. Oh my gosh. Is it- I don't know. I mean, honestly, like, so we just launched our production company. So I feel like we're- everything takes so long. Can I say that? I hate that about that industry. Yeah. Yeah. The development process of things takes forever. So I feel like we're kind of doing a little bit of everything right now. Oh my gosh. I love that. That's amazing. How did- how does that even start production company? Like, are you guys- did you guys like always do entertainment? Like, all of a sudden you have a production house and I was like, wait, how did that happen so quickly? I had like always- we'd been talking about it for a while, but I was just so busy, like with secret lives and then the Broadway show, I was like, I want to be able to put my time and energy into this. I mean, you just do it. You just start a production company. You pair with other people when you want to do a project. And then you find funding and then you get a script writer and then it's just- it's this whole process that I'm learning for the first time because I've never done anything like this. Wow. I know whenever I'm in those meetings, I'm like, am I doing this right? I'm like, what are you saying, right? That is why- that's what I was saying, like how you even like- because you're the head of everything. You're like, cool sips, you're the season. You're doing all these stuff. How- how and what- how do you know when people can choose what you want to do, like which direction you want to go? I think it's just like, if I'm excited about it, like if I'm not excited about it, then I think it's with anything like a brand deal or even press anything that I'm offered. If I'm not excited about it, like, well, that's not fun. I think anybody would want to, like, if you're not excited about it, why would you do it? Right. Oh no. Oh no. You and you do it, you do it at all. And we're so happy because I don't know if I can't say what you do before this, but you were doing something huge before this. And I was like, oh my gosh. I love that you meet time to come all the way out here to do this. So we really appreciate it because we've been trying for so long and then you blow up so big this past year. Yeah. In saying, we were saying we only started more than wise because of you. I watched the last season because I was like, well, I need to see the Whitney lore of dancing with the stars. And what did you think? What do you think of the show? The Mormon-wise show? Yeah. I mean, fans. Fans. Honestly, fans. Even with all the drama, like, you know, we don't not love dad talk here. Obviously, we love Conor. That's it. Yeah. You did say you had dad talk to you and I want to know. We got to have a little segment of Conor here too because I want to know about that. But the men are diabolical on the show. But honestly, I didn't know much about all the other women. Like, I gravitated towards you because obviously the dancing with the stars, the broadway. All of it. I was just like, she's living my dream. And I loved this. And it seemed, for me, I was like, oh my god, it kind of, not came out of nowhere, but came out of nowhere. And I was like, well, good for her. You know what I mean? So then I became obsessed with you. And so I watched the show. And then I loved it for you. But the other girls were so sweet too. We were watching. I don't know. I don't know. The lore of all of them. But they seemed nice. They all supported. Like, going to the airport holding up signs for people. I was like, well, that's, you would never find that in California. Yeah. I was like, they seem supportive. I don't know. Except for your ops, of course, and then, you know, we always, I'm biased, we have your back. So always. I feel like we're having a dancing with the stars moment right now. You've got the disco balls behind you. We need Trisha. Like, I've been campaigning my whole life. We need it to happen. Thank. I would love, unfortunately, never been asked. We're talking to Connor. I'm like, are you giving me an instance? And say, yes or no. Actually, he's just like, I don't know. And he's like, the answer is definitely not. No one's asked me. And that's okay. I'll keep campaigning. Come on. Yes. But I love that they're like, they pulled a little bit from the influencer world. I loved that. Yeah. They should do, they need to do more of that. Hence, we need you on that. I would love, and I do love seeing influencers on there. I do love the whole different spin of it. If they asked, yes, but until then, I just, you guys really brought it back, though. The season you were on, it really made it popular. Why do you think that people were like, had this like, resurgence for dancing with the stars this past season? I feel like it was because the cast really wanted to do it. I feel like in the past, at least when I've watched it, I'd see stars on it where I'm like, I don't really feel like you want to be here, which is not entertaining as a viewer. But everyone wanted to be there. Everybody didn't want to go home. They wanted to win. And then that like ups up the ante a bit more, even as a viewer. And then also being a part of that was like, yeah, like let's go after this. Like I think that's more entertaining. Well, you were like, yeah, you were pretty competitive on there too. Like you wanted to win. I feel like I'd go on there and be happy to make it like a week, but you were like, I want to win. You really should have won. You really should have. My favorite part was your reactions to everything. Like when the camera would catch a reaction, do you think where those involuntary or were they like, were you like, okay, let me like, keep it together? Like I would have talks after with my loving husband where I'm like, I just can't help myself. Like I just, it just happens. Like I just have that reaction. But after every single show you do like this PR press line, so I feel like that was like bootcamp for press because I wasn't very like well versed in that world, like being media trained and everything. But now I'm a professional. So ask me any question and I will answer it appropriately. How did you go through media training? No, like not like actual like sit down media training, but I feel like going around after every single show and talking to all those different outlets, like I was able to like learn how you're supposed to answer a question that was like more appropriate. I see. I see. It was a press bootcamp. Okay, I see. You kind of know because you do answer questions like so well now. But you're a Mormon wife. So it's like messy. Are you a Mormon? I am. Oh, practically. I mean, I say that I'm Mormon, but I'm not like, I'm not Mormon like how I grew up Mormon. Okay. Yeah. Like if somebody were to ask me what my religion was, I'd be like, yeah, I'm a Mormon, but I don't like, not letter of the law. I see. Yeah. Mormon feeling. It's like a feeling. Yes. Like a practice. Yes. Like I haven't got a church in a really, really long time. Oh, okay. Is that what you have to do that as part of it? Every Sunday. Every Sunday we have church. Garments? Are you wearing the Mormon garments? I'm not wearing garments. I mean, this is in general for church. You don't know. I'll see you in my ass on this chair. You're a modern day Mormon. I'm a modern day Mormon. Yeah. Yeah. That's a great way to put it. You have talked about how, you know, we might want to start going to church again. It's a great feeling too. Like, I love going to church and feeling the spirit and, you know, all the things. But culturally, no, I wouldn't say like I'm your typical Mormon. Right. Right. Did you like the Book of Mormon crossover that they did with the Mormon wives? Did you see the TikTok? Yes. Where they did it to your wife's theme song? Like, for the Tonys? Yes. I said, why was I not invited to be in this? That's why I thought you were going to be there because you were there. I know. I wish they would have invited me, but it was funny when Connor and I were going backstage for a rehearsal and I had seen them. And I was like, oh my god. Like, we're the same religion. And like, I don't think they like really knew who I was. I really don't. Oh, he could have told them to do this to the sound. 1000%. I really, I don't know if they know the lore. And somebody just said, hey, walk, walk to this sound. I don't know though. Don't quote me on that, but they definitely didn't know who I was. A way of really that is so funny. So do you think, I wonder what they thought? They're just like, oh, they're like, oh, yeah. Warm and fanatic. And then like, after I told Connor, I was like, I need to not be here. That's me all the time. But that was everything the Tony Awards. It was amazing. No, you guys, it was. It was so cool. My first rehearsal. I go in and pink is there. And she goes, hi, like my name is Alicia. I'm like, you don't need to introduce yourself. First of all. And just sitting down like next to all these Broadway stars, like singing these songs. Like that right there, I honestly was like more invigorating than the actual Tony's. Because I was like, this is everything and more. Okay. Who are you like seated next to for rehearsals? So have you seen Titanic? Of course. What about two strangers carrying a crate across New York? Yeah. The one girl who won the Tony, she's in lost boys. She plays the mom in lost boys. She was in the room too. Like it was just, it was just like, what? - Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. - I was like, what am I doing in here? - I was gonna mage in. - It was overwhelming, 'cause I definitely felt out of place. I was like, okay, oh my. - When do we dance? (laughs) - Yeah, 'cause you were into numbers. You were the opening number and then you were in the Chicago number. - Did you dance the shot? No, you were just doing the opening, the pop six. - Yeah. - I mean, I did a little like TikTok thing, but like, we didn't really need to rehearse for that. - I love that. - Did they try to do it, you threw it in there? - No, they told me to do it. They're like, 'cause they wanted all of them up. They're like, "We want you to come up and then do this." And I was like, "Oh my god." - Oh, 'cause that's the mom pack. - It's the mom talk mood from our iconic, like, yeah, dance that we do on. - And so you're like, "You happily applied." You're like, "Oh no, I don't want to do that." You're like, "All right, I'll do that." - You know, sometimes cringe is great. - Yes. - It is, it really is. No one you're seeing is on point, when you like, 'cause you had a solo in the opening of the 20s, someone like helping you with that, or you're just like, "No, you just do it, you just go out and do it." - Oh no, somebody definitely was queuing me on the side, like when to go on, because there's so many moving parts to a number like that, and so many people that need people to tell you what to do, where to go, da-da-da-da. So it was really cool to see the behind the scenes of how you make something like that happen. But no, somebody was with me at all times being like, in five, six, seven. - What? - And it was like, "Oh my god, like. " - Actually, I held a mic, right? Yeah, no, I held a mic. - What? - Yeah. - Oh my gosh, in Chicago, live, you did. - Chicago. - 12 weeks? - Yes. - Oh my god, eight shows, so that's eight, what's the, what's the math? Do you know how many shows you did? I was like, "Hunter, I don't know." - Well, Conner is, we keep, keep on talking. - I know, I know, I know. - Conner, you're literally doing those math stuff, right? - How much? - 106. - 96. - 96, almost 100. - Oh my gosh. - Conner said you called out of two. - Okay, so 94. - Yeah. - Dude, it's crazy, you don't only call out of two. - You call out of two? - Yeah. - Is wild on our show, like Beetlejuice, I think we had like four different Beetlejuices in my three-week run, because they were just always calling out, 'cause everyone was always getting sick, I guess, 'cause it's like cold, and they're singing so much. - I'm so glad to see you in that. - How was that? - Oh, it was great. I mean, I had like a very small part, you know what I mean? But I loved it. I was, that's what I was telling Conner. I was like, "I don't know how you did it." Like, in every scene, singing all this stuff, like that for eight shows. Like, I don't know, my voice gave out when I had three lines, so I don't know how you were doing it. - I think like, I mean, I've definitely learned more since doing it, but the hardest part was like, being excited to continue to do it, because you're doing the same thing every single day, that you're like, "Okay, well how do I get excited "to like go out there and like do it again?" That was the hardest part. - And theaters, like, they're very small, like the backstage of it, like there's usually no windows. - No. - And so you don't know what like time it is, you're in this like different world. Like, it can be such time. - Time doesn't exist at all. - Which is great for a theater goer, 'cause you go and escape for a night, but when you're doing it every single night, going back to Chicago, you're just like, "Oh my gosh, this is a lot." How did you hype yourself up? - I think I just like, well, first of all, my cast was incredible. I miss them, and I love them so much. That was like the hardest part of ending my run was them, honestly and truly, because I'll never like hang out with all of them like that ever again, but we'd always like, you know, try and make someone break or say, inflectuate a different line or something to like kind of throw the other person off, because sometimes those lines can become so mundane and repetitive that you're just saying it, and not really remembering what you're saying, you know what I mean? So we'd say it a bit differently, and it's exciting 'cause then it keeps you on your toes, and sometimes someone will call out and then you get a new person, like you just try to find ways every night to like keep it exciting. - And how long did it take you to train for, to like do the show? - Well, it was funny because during dancing with the stars, I would audition, take lessons, sending in tapes, really like trying to fight to get this role, take this chance on me, but actual like rehearsing in studio was four weeks. - Wow. - I think it was four weeks. - To the whole show? - Two weeks, yeah. - Corner with like this. (laughing) - Oh, thanks. - Oh my god. - Six weeks, thanks. - That's still really cool to learn how the whole show is. So how does that work? - How much dancing with the stars to Chicago pipeline? Like there's so many people. - I feel like there is, like let's see, we had rumor Willis, Aranematics, Lisa Rena. - Lisa Rena. - Yeah, Kajane, was she on Dancing with the Stars? I don't know. - Yes, she was. - I feel like she was rock-a-jane. - I feel like there's one other. - Can't be more interesting was Dancing with Stars to Roxy. So do they go because Elaine Hendrix, a lot of people had thought of two to be rock-a-jane? So do they go to the show and like ask like, who wants to do this or? - No, it's like, I think they just, I mean, the goal always is to, you know, you're seeing somebody perform on this platform, you wanna see if they can perform on this other platform and if they can get an audience to come and support them and keep the show running. So I think, yeah, I think they maybe just saw me on Dancing with the Stars and was like, well, it was funny because after we did Hamilton, Derek, one of the judges was like, get these two on Broadway, and then literally that next week, that's when they were like, hey, like, would Whitney be interested in auditioning for this role? And I was like, oh my God, this is so cool. Absolutely, yes, I can't sing, but let's do it. - Wow, that is crazy. But you sang before or no? - No, like I would not consider myself a vocalist, but from that, literally that day, I set up lessons with Eric V. Tro here in LA and I would meet with him any chance I could get while doing Dancing with the Stars just to like grasp any sort of vocal that I have. - It was a lot, but he's an amazing teacher, so. - Well, we thought you were lip syncing, though. - I know. - The one of you on the ladder, the funny honey, everyone's like, this is lip syncing to me. - I know. - The best compliment ever, I would assume. - I'm like, oh thank you. - And you brought people in, you have, 'cause Chicago has been on what, is it 30 years? Is that what they were celebrating 30 years? And it is an older one, right? So it's like not for like everybody or whatever. It's kind of like, you know, it's kind of like, one set of outfits and like, but you really, you broke all the records. Like, how many weeks in a row was like the number one that like sold out all these shows? - Yeah, I think it was, let's see. So yeah, I broke the record and then Mark came in and then we broke it again. And then I pretty sure our last week, we broke it again. - The end of your run, it's still like the big guys. - Oh my. - So people wanted to hurry and get out before it was over. - That's so wild. - Oh my, 'cause the show's just been on forever. And you know, shows closed all the time. I think Phantom maybe last, I don't know. Maybe that was 30 years, maybe not. It's like, it might be one of the longest running shows, right? - It is, it is the longest running. - Yeah, I know. - Above like, cats and phantom and everything. - Yeah. - Would you ever go back again? - I feel like if I did, I would wanna play Velma and then it would be cool to like play Roxy with like another celebrity. Like I feel like, I feel like that'd be pretty iconic. - Oh my god, that would be everything. - Anyone done that? Have anyone done Roxy and Velma? - No. - Now the record, you could break, just doing all the rolls. - Okay, perfect, put it on the list. - Oh my god, 'cause I was asking, I was like, where are you guys gonna be like settled? And I was like, behind her, don't know. Maybe in New York, maybe LA, do you have any thoughts? - I feel like, we're figuring this out in real time. But I feel like my kids are getting older where they can't follow like mom where her projects go. And especially my oldest, she's six now. And she like, she wants her friends in the same school and like stability. So I feel like I need to like, find that base camp and then wherever the job goes. Like mom, he's just gonna have to go and then come back. So I don't know yet. (laughing) - So it could be anywhere. - Well the cool thing is, is like, with the job you do, it's everywhere, you know what I mean? And everyone travels, so you could be based anywhere. If your family's in Utah, LA, wherever you want to be. - Yeah, I will probably end back up in Utah because yeah, next to my family, like I'm in a need their help. - Yeah. - Yeah, because even Connor, like Connor's been booking some stuff too. - I know, we're getting busy. - How is that, 'cause you guys did the thing, the big thing before this, you might be out. - No ours comes out, do you know when yours come out when that thing comes out, did they tell you? - What thing? - The thing this morning that you did. - Oh, I think it comes out like in a couple weeks. - Okay, well wait 'cause this comes out next week, but it was a big thing, and you guys didn't see it. - No, I'm pretty sure this comes out before. - Yeah, I wanted to come out tomorrow. But let me give it a minute. (laughing) - Yeah, no, I was, I was gonna come out tomorrow. I need this out today. How is it doing stuff together as like a couple? - It's the best, like it's really exciting. And obviously, you know, like we motivate each other to like go after things that we probably like normally would never think would be possible. Like the production companies are perfect example. Like I'm telling you, when I'm sitting in these meetings, I'm like, I don't know if I'm, like I'll give them a pitch. And I'm like, I don't know if that's, I googled it. And I hope that, I hope this was right. (laughing) - That's amazing you've gotten like all this stuff from just like literally just throwing it out there. - Yeah. - 'Cause your Christmas movie is that coming out this year? - Yes, it's coming out in November. - I'm so excited for it. - I'm literally living my dream life. Like Christmas movies is like all I've ever wanted to do. - No, you did Broadway, you were in Euphoria. - Yeah, okay, but like, hold on, yes. But it's not, it's, you know, yes, you're right. I'm very like thankful. But you are like blasting it. You're like starring in these movies, producing it. Like you're really, it's inspiring. And I think that's why I like gravitated so much when you were doing all this stuff. 'Cause I was like, damn, she's really getting, it was like one thing after the other. We just kept seeing all the stuff you were doing. And then when I saw the Christmas movie, I was like, how, it's just like lifetime is it? Your production, like what is it? - So, yeah, it was mine and I partnered with somebody else. And we had just sold it to a network, which I can't wait 'til we can announce that. But it will come out in November. Do you know who, Jessie Kovas? - No, maybe if I knew the face, I'm like about him. - So, he is, do you watch Cobra Kai? Cobra Kai, anyone? - On Netflix? - Yes. - Okay, so the, or Karate Kid, the bad sensei, it's his son. - Oh, that was my co-star. - Oh, the original Karate Kid. - Yes. - Oh my gosh. - The bad sensei. - He's also in Cobra Kai. - Okay, okay. Okay, so he was the co-star. How did you get that? - So, you're like putting this all together. Are you doing the pitch or are you reaching out? - Well, it was definitely more of the. other production company because they are well more well versed in this world than I'm just like kind of a long for the ride and learning the ropes for the very first time. Which is also I think really exciting being in the media and like people following that. Because we don't really get to see that. We don't really get to see people like figuring this out for the first time. Usually see once they've already done like four or five movies or films or whatever it is. Yeah they they casted it you know we went over the script a lot and then saw the final edit and then finally put a pitch together so that to a network. Oh my god it's been an adventure I love it and I'm like oh I want to do more of this. We were acting like in school because I know you danced in college and stuff so we were acting as well. Well it's funny like acting was always the goal like I always wanted to do Broadway and acting. There's like this TikTok I'd made that resurfaced after my first after I had my first daughter. I was like doing a little dance with her and in the caption I was like my dream was always to be on Broadway. It was like how cool like five years later like I'm actually doing that. But I just I don't know I just never thought it was possible. Like I feel like dancing with the stars like gave me that delusion where I was like I think we might be able to do what I've always wanted to do. That is wild. It's insane. Yeah I was like instant star maker. I feel like I mean you guys are obviously big but like as a collective and then I think you really just like broke out from everybody. Which maybe it was the point of conscience. I imagine you know you do see you know someone doing such amazing things which is like really impressive. So you so you so you acted in school and then you went to college and then did you just become do like the mommy thing like right away. Yeah so um culturally in Mormon religion like I very much had like that very newly wed Mormon life Connor and I like we got married in the temple. We had kids I was a stay at home mom Connor had a nine to five and I just remember just like being at home with my kid and I was like I just. I'm just not happy like I miss doing what I was going after so how can I do both simultaneously. And then I was introduced to social media and then I started making TikToks then I got into mom talk and then I was like I'm on a reality show. What is going on. This was never in the works at all like never in my plan never how this like path has like pan out to where I am today was like never how I envisioned it in my mind like that reality even came into my life because I always thought. It would just be straight to scripted television so. I was going to say a timeline because you said it was five years ago when you did the TikTok and I mean that's fast yes that's like such a fat like with all the stuff you've done yeah but what is the timeline from doing mom talk to doing your first TikToks to the reality show. Okay so mom talk was like I want to say it was like two it's like a year and a half to two years but then we were talking about it but then Taylor got arrested so we had to put it on pause. The first time the first season was I was yes we we shot the pilot okay we had to wait a year. Which honestly though blessing in disguise yeah because that we took a step back and we got to add to the cast so that's when like because before it was just me macy mikaela to me and Taylor it was just us but then we added more to the cast like took a step back added more which I think it needed like I don't think it would have been strong enough with just us five. So anyway so they knew what they were getting into it happened before the first season started. Yes it wasn't like a shop. Okay so they were appreciating it like the messiness of it all for sure. Okay are we a part of the swingers at all. No okay who was in that because that was before the reality show that's just Taylor. Yes it really was just Taylor and Miranda but Miranda wasn't in the first season. Oh Miranda Miranda was in it and the scandal yes and her her will now ex has been chase. They were all in the swinging scandal together but it was funny because I think everybody yes sorry. But everybody I think just assumed that it was all of us because of the virality of how it was put out there. Well hold on now, hold on. Did people come to you because if you were doing those TikToks where you're like moving back our people are like they're the ones. Do you know what I mean? They were doing it. Were they accusing you of it? Oh absolutely and are you just ignoring it? Are you trying to play along with it like I don't know. No I played along with it. I was like oh my gosh it is no. Not me. Because were you like were you praying at the time that was happening. I had just had I just had my second child and then we all got together like two weeks later that was like my first like oh my god like I got invited. It felt like that like you got invited to this event like it felt very much like mean girls like oh my god like you could just sit with us. Who invited you? Who invited you? Who invited you? So Miranda invited me to the first one. I feel like the first like the OGs were Taylor, Miranda and Camille which she's not in the show. She was part of that. I'm sure if I showed you a picture you would have seen that. Are they two blonde girls? Yeah and they look very well Taylor was the grandma. Right. And they were the daughters. I remember being like she looked so good for 50. I really thought she was. That was crazy. She started it though honestly like okay got it. So they were the original. Correct got it. And then so I think you like you got to get invited by like an OG and I got invited by Miranda and I was like oh my god like this is happening. I can just sit with them and then literally like two months later this whole swinging scandal happened and then it just like it went to show. Well then you got to show for a minute. I remember when I was happening. Wow. What a crazy. Well don't you talk about being a mom you were getting like you were getting Christmas and some people criticize. They were like how is she moving she work with three kids. It's like what do you say to people because I relate so much to you as well where it's like being a mom is great. But if you have other ambitions you should go after them. So what do you say to people who like criticize? Well I feel like times are changing like I feel like if I didn't have Connor in my life I wouldn't have even been able to figure out how that even works because yeah I've got three kids at home. Like my youngest is a year and a half years old like they need a lot of attention but I also have Connor. He's helping too. Dads are also part of the picture. Let's remember that. So like yeah like without him yeah I don't know how I would be able to do it. But people who also don't have that they figure it out and they make it work and I think that like let's just like uplift that more. Yeah and rather than like tear people down for it. Maybe it makes well not maybe I think it makes other people feel better when they do that. That's true because I think they want to do it a thousand percent yeah who doesn't I mean some people maybe just like are happy with that too but I think the people who want to do it some people don't have this more because it takes a lot of us to like I have obviously Moses and my mom but we also have like help you know because you can't do it all with just you know and some people can't and that's really good like if you can do it all by yourself but it's it's it's not easy. I saw it was on this last season right where you were like breaking down you had like guilt over not like seeing them for dancing stars. How do you how do you like I guess keep going through that or how do you like reconcile yourself with it? I feel like it was still Connor like even in that scene when I've seen clips of it because I don't watch the seasons anymore. You said you have announcements. Can you share anything the new season filming like anything. Oh you mean like a secret life? Anything. Secret lives your life. I feel like yeah I like feel like this is like the year that I'm like stepping into what I've always wanted to do. Which is really exciting. It's a lot of work but it's exciting. And I'm excited too because I want to like share more of that process of getting into this industry. Because just because I've been in Chicago and I've breaking all these records and whatnot. Like I still get rejected all the time. Like I still am auditioning like crazy and you have to like. I'm still trying to figure out how to process that as an actor where I'm just like oh my god. like. So exciting you get this audition, but then you go and you put it on tape and they're like, well, like, you know They went with somebody else, okay, but then here's the next one and you have to find ways to stay motivated and it can be very weary and unmotivating when you're constantly getting rejected But that's why I also wanted to start a production company because it felt like I could have a little bit more of a creative control in Believing in myself for I'm like, okay, well then let me make my own movie and I'll show you how well it does. You gotta do that's right yourself at it. Yeah, but there's a lot of stuff like that happening this year. Um, scripted unscripted. I'm scripted. I thought like this was it the last season of Mormon wise is your last season? I was thinking I was like, wait, are they gonna be in filming? Oh my gosh. Are you so you would be open to doing more unscripted? You're not like yeah me. No, like I just like it's so much of my nature to share my life like I and I love that about me like I don't want to that specific You know ensemble and show that I was a part of I feel like I have grown out of that like of course like there's still my friends Like I'm sure I'm gonna pop in every once in a while But yeah, like I still love unscripted like dance with the stars or traders So that's why I got to go back now and watch and see how yeah, it's villain as he works I was like when he was that villain and I was like, oh my god. What did you do that was so awful for people who don't know like what? I don't know. Oh, okay. Well, there was I Didn't show up to an event that I Had even told her that I wasn't gonna show up but she was still upset about it and then what was the other thing? Oh, what oh and then I showed up to an event that I also wasn't by the two Yeah, yeah, you just can't win. You really can't oh my god What was it like then for like season four with the perception to really like shift and like the fans are really rally behind you in Conor and that must have been like pretty validating then right? Yeah, it was very validating. I feel like Seeing me in a different light like really helped that like we're being on dancing with the stars like that's Performing in that way like That changed my life because that's again. That's like I love Dancing singing acting and that like gave me the platform to do that and then I think people just saw a different side of me We're like oh She's fun. She's exciting But it was very validating so I'm like wait, but like we're really fun It's important to I think seeing the contrast between you guys and just awful lawful guys on there I'm like that was the most shocking thing to me is just like how are they giving dad talk a platform? I guess they probably won't anymore right in the following seasons. I don't know. Yeah, I would be shocked if they did though The fans also don't want it, you know nobody wants it. I think they're listening Where did it pick up a port can you say like where it started filming for you? Are they filming because it kind of ended with the dancing with the stars drama you getting rock see and then it kind of like ended Yeah, do they show your time in New York? They show a little bit of my time in New York But then when they went back that's when everything happened and we stopped filming for a little bit But we're back again, so you'll see you know more of that finishing out that season which will probably come out in the fall I don't know exactly when but oh this fall I can literally feel my public is saying I Wait that's so T though because and like mentally how is it free because it's like as an outsider like obviously not even like being a part of it I'm like this is a lot like watching the show is a lot obviously all the drama that was happening I was a lot as like how is it for you guys to just like like it's for you specifically like it's like oh filming Posing filming and you also you're like in the midst of like your biggest like moment of your career. So like how are you? mentally dealing with it all Am I allowed to say Connor again? I feel like we're just like We've removed ourselves so far from it like even physically that I feel like it hasn't affected us as much as it may have other cast members. Oh Geographically, we felt separated too like as all this stuff was happening We were in a totally different location so people didn't really even ask us about it So when stuff was kind of unfolding in real time People were kind of catching us up So I did feel very far removed from it and we were so focused on Chicago and so focused on what we were going to be doing next Yeah, that it just kind of felt like we were here to support people who need the support and we want to be in listening here But we didn't necessarily feel like we had to figure anything out because we weren't necessarily no thick of it Yeah, and how are they how's how are you now with mom talk in general? They like because you guys are so separated do they feel like you abandoned are they still really like support out of this Alchemist Chicago, which is great, but sorry. They all support it or is that just for show? No, it's I mean, I hope it's not just for sure Yeah, no, I feel like this is like literally the first time ever. I'm like, wow, I'm good with everyone. I feel like I generally feel like Jordan was trying so hard to make it a thing Yes, and so the other dad's just kind of like showed up But I don't think they were as passionate as Jordan was like I feel like I Mean correct me if I'm wrong that what that's my take on it where I feel like all of the other dads are like No, I think that was right. I mean we all had a like a good laugh making that won't we made one or two tiktok's like poking fun Yeah, your guys is like tiktok synergy. Yeah, and that like we thought that was funny, and then yeah, they know Merch, yeah, yeah, and then we were like what's kind of going what's going on? Like why is there merch? What about the villa? Were you there? Did you go? I didn't go to the villa. No Whitney and I had a good conversation about the villa She we had a convert actually think it's in the season, but Whitney had told me you know considering our history that She didn't really want me to go and I wanted to respect that I said, okay, if you don't feel comfortable with me going then I'm not going to go and The villa overlapped with like the first week of dancing with the stars, and I was not going to miss that I wasn't going to miss Whitney to getting to tell me who her partner was I wasn't going to miss Whitney going to do these awesome photo shoots and coming home and getting to tell me about it And I wanted to be there for my kids because I knew that week when it was just gonna be crazy busy Yeah, yeah, like how long are you gone at the be that first week? Are you like eight to twelve hour days? It's insane like it felt like it felt like that, but I know it wasn't that I think it's because it was that was it was in on a Chicago schedule was lighter than dancing with the stars I don't know for sure it was he hasn't the press in photo shoots and stuff like that for sure It's you had events to go to like it was like a dinner every other night or like you had to go to some like, you know Charitable organization thing that was dancing with a star sponsored or then you had to go and do dress fittings It's like all the fun things. Yeah, yeah, but super busy. Yeah, and how many months plus part of me were you were you like a year? You were I wasn't a year yet because he had his first birthday on it probably like 10 months Except 10 or October 10 Yeah, 10 months. Yeah. Wow. I know because it takes me to say you could be of us pardon for about two years really like Yeah, I'm telling you that's what got me into shape I knew I wasn't gonna be that physically active like literally ever again because you're doing cardio for like six to seven hours a day Every day, but it's great exercise because it's fun. Yeah Yes, so when you got eliminated you knew you were gonna do Broadway right away where you like I'm just going on the next day I didn't know right away because I got eliminated and then literally it was two days later They were like, okay, they want you to fly out to New York do an in-person work session. So like my audition Because they've been seeing tapes, but like this was like the first like audition And I in person so we flew to New York Connor went with me And I was even a little sick which was very scary. I had a cough. This was November I think we were there at the same time we were yes Because I remember being like maybe I'll run into him because you guys were next step Broadway store Where they sell all the like merchant the years I'm right down the street And I said you were like teasing Broadway and I was like because you were doing Beatles at the same place in November I remember you were there It was right after you got eliminated and I was just like oh my gosh like I was like I was No, now we now we're gonna be so now we would follow each other. Okay, so you guys were there for like a day Like right after they're for a day. We took a red eye then that morning. I did my in-person audition Which I'll tell you funny sort of that little bit later Did my audition and then literally two days later? They told us that I got them all and then I figured out the night. I thought you was at the night Yeah, we were driving to the airport and they called you on the drive Because we audition and immediately left for the airport to go back and they called you on the drive I called your agent You're like when are we gonna find out and she was like these things take time right and then you found out 30 minutes after that what it was on the drive there. I'm pretty sure it was on I remember that I just don't remember when it was wow. Okay. Yeah right away is actually crazy. That's I know it was crazy Do you cry did you film it? No, cuz I think if we didn't know we didn't know that like that was gonna be Agents don't know. I'm like come on Heads up. Yeah, we can film it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm gonna have your camera out right now I have a camera out for everything just in case whenever I see my agent like just in case We would love a reaction, you know As much as you guys film and share everything. I know what we need to be better at that I need to hire someone to do that. I think well you guys have like you've been coming in and like him taking pictures I was like I need someone like that in my life. It is the best. I love having this. Yes. It's like it's exciting That first meeting. Yes. Do you ever regret sharing too much about your guys' life's? That's a really good question. Do you? I feel like I Feel like I feel like in the beginning I did yeah, but then you almost get to a point And it's like whatever So you're like I'll just keep sharing yeah, you're just like because I do enjoy it and there was a time where I was so like hyper fixated on You know how the world how people viewed me and how I wanted to be perceived and blah blah blah blah And it wasn't until literally you forget about that that then you're like then people love you and But you can't like you can't and that's taking time and also That's not to say that there's still things that still get to me where I'm like oh That people say like that hit yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah But no, I just I don't know. I just don't care as much as I did No, I would say same. I remember when we were filming the pilot and we were trying to decide how much of our lives Were we going to actually share? Yeah, and we both just like had this conversation where we was like I really want to do this And then we were like okay if we're gonna do it then you gotta do it like if you're gonna play the game play Yeah, go fall out. So we had to like a sit down conversation said okay Like this is what we have going on our life and some very personal very sensitive stuff That we just said you know what like if we're gonna do this. We need to be open and vulnerable and share this information And it was very scary at the time I remember sharing it and then just like going home that night and be like I hope that doesn't make the final edit Because I'm just like so nervous so scared of like what people will think or what people will say and then You know people think and say mean things and some people think and say nice things and you realize at the end of the day Like it didn't have any effect on my life or our lives Yeah, like I was worried that the outside noise was going to influence us, but it didn't yeah Not at all you guys think like through all the seasons It's never rattled anything you I said stayed strong for every single oh no it definitely has Like some stuff absolutely yeah definitely hurts to hear but I was more afraid that I was gonna take what people were going to say about me And it was going to influence how I was going to behave in the future Like oh if everyone if anyone thought I was like oh he's Being too childish, I'm like, oh, I'm gonna be like I need to like never happen like never happen like people made their comments And I was like okay, sure, but like that's my truth. Yeah, that's my truth and like no It's not fun hearing that I'm a loser or that are yeah or that your relationship isn't super solid because of the stuff We should like that's not fun to hear but at the end of the day we knew what we were working on and we just kind of focused on What mattered? Yeah, and now you're doing magic You're a magician wait how do you feel about that because that seems like a big turn all of that in your magician? Like that's crazy. Most like I was starting to be coming a magician. I'd be like oh my gosh I feel like it's like Not as like serious is like I feel like it was publicized on the show like it was more like It's like a whimsical hobby. Okay, but he's so good at it where I'm like, but hold on Could be something bigger than like biggest. No, literally. Yeah, we were just in Vegas because we just renewed our That was for a 10-year anniversary 10 years. I know Wait, you would love this. We did it with Elvis Of a show it was going to be yeah, it was It was incredible. I just had like my immediate family there and like everybody was in like these fun Vegas costumes I can't wait to show you the pictures. The Elvis we had was amazing. Oh really was good. Usually they're a little no He was so good, and it was funny because when we checking out she's like you got the good Elvis Got the good one into it. Yeah, that's performing. We were like singing line I think like I don't know it just felt like Vegas has always just funny because we don't do like your typical Vegas things But we've always loved Vegas, and I think like for Connor and I we were We didn't really have a lot of money in like the first years of our marriage So whenever we wanted to go and like treat ourselves we'd go to Vegas. Oh close to Utah. Yeah, very close to your trip Yeah, just a little drive get like a discount hotel. Yeah Just like have a fun. I go see a show you fun food and then go home and say what is your Vegas routine being Mormons? You don't drink alcohol, but we still drink That's the marketing that's the business right there. We love a cool sip. See me went out here. I love a virgin Pina colada We do actually he does virgin mojitos, and I do yeah, they're so good. I love a virgin. Can we still drink? We went to a club one time And we actually did drink there. We did take a shot. They gave us free tequila. You learn a lot about Mr. Piffles and they loved me clones the dog Yeah, how did you ask him do you know magician over here? Do you know the trick? No? He literally know like not a magic trick Literally cloned science Well, I literally do it every night He has this dog but like dog he lived for so long, so he has to clone that same dog. So like, so for when that dog passes, he don't have to steal his show, but he tells the story. He tells the story. He was like, our dog who like did America's Got Talent with me, Mr. Piffles, like he was getting older and getting sick. So they're like, hey, like you should find another dog that looks like Mr. Piffles. So he did, turns out Mr. Piffles the second, gets stage fright. So it didn't do well on stage. So then they got another Mr. Piffles that looked just like Mr. Piffles. That one's a chunkier one. That one loved his snacks. And got like, hey, we love that, that's cute, we love that. So people could tell. Yeah, so he has like four different dogs. So he has four different dogs. They all come out on stage at different points. But so he took Mr. Piffles gave its DNA to a lab in South Korea. And they literally grew a dog in a lab. And then as he keeping all the Mr. Piffles. Imagine setting your makeup. Like Piff, it's like so funny, you're laughing your head off. And there's the magic. So like the show needs something on top of the magic. Wow. Just to like bring an extra element. It's just like bringing the show to life. Is this like a real dream? Where is it just something you just thought of now? Or are you like, no, I just, no, like I just told Connor, I said, if you wanted to, like, oh my gosh. Anyways, just to get to the point where like it was not serious. But then I was like, wait, you're really good at this. Do you want to make it serious? And do you? Do that? I enjoy performing like Whitney does. Just not, I just don't have the same aspirations. I'm like, not gunning for an Oscar. I'm not gunning for a telly. But I really enjoyed being in 11 to midnight. Don't tell people in my secret. Is that your goal? No, I wouldn't know you should say it. Like, is that like what would you mean like, what you got? That would be amazing. Oh my god, like, you could actually do it. That would be, that would be really cool. So you need to originate a role, right? To get a Tony or, yeah, like, it can be a revival or obviously a new, a whole new show. But those are hard, like, whole new shows are hard to stay. I feel like people are doing more-- Somebody close this year. I know. It makes me so sad. Beaches was in and out so fast. So fast. That becomes, there was huge and that's gone. It's like insane, like, that's why you should call it. Well, I'm happy that was there for a while, though. It was. It was. A couple of years. But I feel like once Megan Hilti left, it wasn't doing as great. She was so good. Do you ever get to see it? Yes, with her. And it was so fantastic. So good. I was like shaking when I got to meet her. I was like, oh my god, she's amazing. She's so amazing. The best. Mash was short-lived there. Smash was there shortly. That was short. Everything was short-lived. That's why you went back into Chicago and giving it a whole second life is truly amazing. Like, it's everything. It was everything and more. Oh my god, so you'd like thinking you would go back. So between veg and dancing to start, oh my god, there's so much. There's just a lot. We're going to be brought out of space. We're feeling like-- Oh my god, Katy Perry style is going to the moon. That would be-- You were the one who did that. Yeah, I would do it. I feel like you would do everything. I would do it. Anyway, we're supportive of each other. So you're so supportive, too. You would be like, yeah, to do. The only reason I even went on stage was because of Whitney. When I got the offer to be a part of 11 in midnight, I was like, do you want to do it? And I said, yeah, it sounds like a lot of fun. And she said, then we're going to do everything we have to do to get you on that stage. So she supports me. Everyone sees this version of me supporting Whitney. And people need to realize how hard Whitney rides for her friends and family. The support I get from her is unmatched. I feel like when I'm supporting her, I'm just paying back at that because she supports me so, so much. Ah, that is a beautiful-- It really is so sweet. Because you are having such a moment in your career, so to also make the time to do that. Because it's hard to have two people performing. Because it's night time. It's like, you guys can't both be doing. It's really hard. Well, I just finished my run. And so then because we were like, oh, we're so excited to spend time together again. And then it was like the week before, I think, right? Because you were rehearsing during my last week. Wow. Yeah, during rehearsing, coming between shows and just hanging out for a little bit. But yeah, that's exactly how it panned out. And we just Whitney made it work so that I could do it. That's actually so beautiful. We both made it work. No, it's really amazing because you guys are just so busy and you just make everything work. Like coming here today, I was like, well, it's amazing that you made it work. Do you have any other exciting plans we guys are here in LA? Or is it just like interuse meetings? Because you have the kids with you, right? Yeah, we have all the kiddos out here.
