What Would You Do In These Awkward Social Situations?
14m 57s
The transcript explores various awkward, ethically complex social dilemmas and offers personal, practical advice on how to navigate them. Key scenarios include finding $4,000 unexpectedly, discovering a friend’s infidelity, suspecting a friend’s hacking of school grades, witnessing intimate acts, overhearing personal rankings, and accidental social media or private recordings. The advice consistently emphasizes discretion, empathy, and protecting relationships over confrontation. For instance, one suggests keeping money hidden and investigating rather than acting on suspicion, while another recommends a light-hearted, honest conversation about a romantic situation to preserve trust. Regarding sensitive topics like accidental recordings or intimate acts, the advice leans toward silence and time, warning that exposure could damage trust or lead to personal distress. The overarching theme is that honesty is valuable, but not at the cost of emotional or relational harm. The speaker encourages reflection and self-awareness, acknowledging that not all situations require intervention and that some discomfort is normal in modern social interactions. Ultimately, the goal is to maintain integrity, privacy, and emotional well-being without escalating conflict.
Welcome back ladies and gentlemen, today we're going to find out what exactly I would do in these impossible situations. Apparently they're impossible. I don't know. People are looking for advice. I'm going to let you know. Let's do it. Let's, let's fuck. Let's do it! I woke up after a black out night of drinking with friends and found $4,000 in my jacket pocket. I have no memory of where it came from, no text, no clues, nothing. What the hell do I do with it? Take it like this, go like this, and shove it in your bank account, dude. What do you mean? I don't know if I would spend it, but I definitely would like put it to the side. And if no one brings up money in any sort of fashion for like a month, it is all mine, okay? I'm spending that thing. Because who's to say? We don't know if you punch an old lady in the eye and then stole that money from her and that's why you have it. Why is she even carrying $4,000 in her pocket book at night? She was asking for it. But you also could have went to the casino without you knowing and you got $4,000 and now you're trying to give it away. Can't do that either. Let's just give it a beat. You know what I mean? Maybe watch the news see if anyone got robbed for $4,000 cash. In that case, I probably wouldn't snitch on myself anyway. I would go into hiding. I would use the money to probably change my name or something. We've gone too far with this. Let's just move on. I saw my friend kiss one of our guy friends and she has a boyfriend. She doesn't know I saw them together. The next night at a party, I hooked up with the same guy. Do I tell my friend? I know she's cheating on her boyfriend. Do I tell her I also hooked up with the guy she's cheating with? Ah, help. Ah, therapy. Listen, you can't be doing this. First of all, why are you even interested in doing that with this guy friend? How hot is this guy, by the way? What the fuck? This guy's like, I'm hooking up with this friend and the other friend. She's got a boyfriend. I don't kiss anybody. I don't give a fuck. Two days in a row, we're doing this? Jesus, we're really partying. Ah, this is a tough one. If it was me personally, I probably would have brought it up. I could say this. I definitely wouldn't have hooked up with this person the next day. I mean, I have this like drama in my back pocket. Why would I insert myself into it when I can just hold onto it and just, you know, just think about it all the time and the drama and the, "Ooh, I know something. They don't know." And they don't even know that I know that I saw them and then I've been serving myself. Why would I do that? Personally, I would tell my friend, "Hey, just honey, you know, so you're with Jeremy." What the hell was that about? Like, can you talk to me about that? Like, are you in love with this kid? Are you breaking up with your boyfriend? Are you just cheating like that? And if she says yes, you'd be like, "Well, good." And you should know, suck them the day after. So do with that information what you will, okay? You're not the chosen one because I was chosen the next night. Now we got a big drama going, okay? This is crazy. I wonder how this turns out. Someone hacked into our high school's computer system and changed the grades for our entire class. The person is a friend of mine and sent a text in our group chat that he did it. The school knows but doesn't know who did it and they were investigating everyone in that class. I got pulled into questioning about it and pretend I didn't know anything. But I'm scared because they said anyone who has info and is withholding will face consequences. I don't want to snitch, but do I tell? I'm a good student and don't want to mess anything up with my future. You're fine. I mean, it's school. There will be consequences, detention. What are we talking about here? The guy changed the fuck. I am also plausible deniability. I don't even know if that's the right term, but I heard it in a show once, but it feels like it applies here. I would just say, yeah, this guy fucking said this in our group chat, but I don't believe him. Why am I expecting that I'm friends with the fucking one of the anonymous hackers and he could change all of the grades in the school? I don't mind supposed to take that seriously. You can just say that. You know, and also the reality is that your friend could be making that up. Maybe they're lonely and they want to feel cool for one. So they're like, yeah, this thing that no one can figure out, it was actually me. Are you cool? It's like, no, you're going to jail or not jail or detention. Whatever. School jail. I think you're fine. You don't have to snitch. It's not that big of a deal. Is what it is. You're still going to go to college, you're going to get a degree, and then it's going to be tough to find a job in this economy, and you're going to blame college for the debt. It's going to happen. I saw a video of my best homie getting sucked clean by this dude we know. Did we really need to describe it in that way, sucked clean? Did not think my friend was gay at all. Like, he got his shit polished shiny in the video. All right, this dude's horny as fucking it's clear. That's just like, yo, I saw him getting fucking sucked off, polished his shit shiny. Like, what? That's wild dude. I'm like, whatever about it, gays are cool. But do I just tell him I know or pretend I don't. I feel like pretending will change our friendship. But what would you do if you found this out about your friend? I'll tell you this right now. I'm not bringing that up. I'm definitely not going to be like, hey man, saw your shit getting shined and polished by a man. Yo, also, I just want to say this. The fact that you're going into such detail, sucked clean, polished shiny, you watched it from front to end. You know what, from start to finish, you were glued. So, uh, I don't know. I would probably pretend that you didn't watch this seemingly multiple times. Because the details are just, it's far too, it's far too descriptive here. I probably would just not bring it up. And hopefully, you know, your friend, if they are gay, feel like I'll let you know. I don't want to out my friend and let them know that like, hey man, saw you do a gay act. So, do you got something to tell me? Because maybe they're not gay. Or maybe they are and they're not willing ready to tell you yet. But they are ready to film it. I accidentally overheard my friends ranking everyone in our group by looks and sex appeal. I came in dead last. Oh, that's horrible. They don't know I heard. Do I confront them or never bring it up? Oh, that's a toughy, man. What do you do? What are you hoping to gain from that conversation? Like, are you going to try and plead your case and be like, hey, I'm not dead last. Like, can you move me up a little bit? Like, is that going to make you happy? Because right now you have some information. And it doesn't look like it's going to change. You know, you weren't there. So, they were probably being honest. And it's not a big deal. It doesn't mean that you're not sexy. Or that you're not go looking. You're just the least in the group to them. To small section of the universe. So, you shouldn't be that down on yourself. I don't know that you're going to get a lot from confronting them. All right, before we continue with this episode, we do have some sponsors. The first one being Seaky. Seaky is where you're going to get your tickets to anything you're going to. So, if you're going to a sporting event, you're going to a concert or wherever you're going. You're going to want to download Seaky because they are the best ticketing app that there is to offer. Okay, I buy all my tickets on Seaky. I've been using them for years. And I love the transparency. They let you know if you're paying a good price for a ticket. If they show something dark green. And if it's dark red, that means you're overpaying for that. So, you might want to stay away from that because sometimes people get a little crazy of what they're going to offer their tickets up for. So, go download the Seaky cap and we're going to save you some money. Okay, if you go download the app and use the code Joe2026, we're going to save you 10% off of your next set of tickets on Seaky. Okay, so take someone you love to something nice. Use the Seaky code Joe2026 and get 10% off. And we also have Rocket Money. Rocket Money is an all-in-one personal finance app that is just focused on putting money back in your pocket. And they do that in a number of ways, you know, through a budgeting tool. So, if you want to be more financially responsible, then you set a budget for yourself and you keep track of all your spending so that you can grow your savings. But they also find and cancel unwanted subscriptions as well. And we're all guilty of signing up for things that maybe we used for a month and that we haven't used in a while. And it's now it's time to probably cancel it so we can save that money. You don't want to pay for it for a whole year. And, you know, you're losing out of money on things that you don't need. There's that also people sign up for free trials. And then they don't realize that they're paying for it. And you can cancel those things. And it's nice to just have everything in one section where you can see all of your spending and cancel the things. And immediately, saving that money you put it right back in your pocket. They also have a feature where you can literally take a picture of your bill and upload it. And if they can help you lower your bill, they will. So, it's all focused on putting money back in your pocket, saving your money and being more financially responsible. So, if you want to get started, you can go to rocketmoney.com/jo right now. They also have premium features. And that's going to get you the most paying for your buck. You're going to save the most money with using those. So, go to rocketmoney.com/jo right now to get started. I met a girl who worked at a coffee shop. We kind of hit it off and I got her IG handle. I was scrolling deep on her profile to see what's up. And I accidentally liked one of her pictures from 2020. I unliked it, but I know it's too late. It's not like she has a lot of followers or engagements, so I'm sure she saw the like. Do I address it or ignore it? Um, I think I would address it. I honestly would probably bring it up in a funny kind of way of like, "All right, you know, you caught me." I don't know if you did catch it, but I'm going to get ahead of this thing and let you know that I was scrolling back because I think you're pretty and I was just scrolling and creeping and I accidentally liked something that was my nightmare and now I'm living it and I'm having to tell you about it, you know what I mean? And if the feeling's mutual, I think that it'll be fine. I don't think that two people that are actually interested in each other care about this. This is more of like if there's someone that I don't know or that I'm not interested in and they're going all the way back and liking photos and using that as a strategy, that's kind of where it's like, "Oh, this is creepy." But we're all creeping on social media. We're all scrolling all the way down and looking at every single picture you have and you're like, "Let's see the first picture you ever posted." Why is this filter on there? You know what I'm saying? Like we're all doing that stuff. So it's not like you're the only one out there doing that. And I think that if two people are interested in each other then no one really cares about this. It's kind of like a cute, funny little thing. But I would make sure that you like each other. Because if she is not really interested or this is a person you don't really know and then you do that, a board mission get out of there. I hooked up with someone and halfway through realized they smelled exactly like my dad. Like same exact cologne. I met up with him again and they were wearing it. I literally only associate that smell with my dad and it's so weird when we are hooking up. But I really liked the guy. Do I just say something? I would probably bring it up in a very passive aggressive way if I'm being honest. You know, I'd be like, "Oh, you always wear that cologne is that your favorite cologne, what is that?" Well, I'd probably be like, "Oh, it's kind of, I mean, no, it's good. I just, it's not my favorite, but I think it's good." Or, you wait.
For like a holiday and you get him a new one, you know what I mean? You're like all right. Let's let's let's get this dad smell out of there But if you guys are hooking up and you look over and you like you smell just like my dad That's a bad way to kind of go about that conversation and the longer you wait the worst this gets because if you guys are dating for a while And then one day you're like by the way I always thought that you smell like my dad then if I that's me I'm gonna be like this girl She's got an edipest thing going and she wants to fuck her dad I she's a little wants to go out to me because I smell like her father. This is weird. I would bring it up in a roundabout way Probably not the best way cuz honestly is the best policy, but you know I would probably honest I'd probably just be like oh I'd say I'd take you Don't put it on my partner admitted they sometimes fake orgasms But they refuse to say when or how often because it would hurt my confidence Do I demand the truth or leave it alone forever first of all your partner is a class a grass fed piece of shit If you're gonna go as far to actually tell me hey Sometimes I fake it out there and then you're like oh I'm not gonna tell you when but I'm just gonna Well you want me to think about that every single time here's what we're not gonna do pretend like that didn't hurt my confidence Do you think it's only gonna hurt my confidence if I know the exact times in which your the thing that hurts My confidence and that will drive me insane to the point of maybe psychosis is that I'll never know whether you're being truthful Not about your vaginal stimulation, okay, that would drive me nuts So I think you either tell them and say hey get back in there But because games not over shows not done. All right. We got an encore comment or you just you give them the fucking men in black Erases brain so he forgot this conversation even happened because not knowing is worse than knowing two years ago I went on some dates with a guy but ultimately told him I didn't think it would work out that same guy is now dating my younger sister And he's showing up to family events everyone's acting like this is normal But I'm pissed at my sister am I crazy or is it weird pissed at your sister? What the hell are you talking about this guy's weird You tried to date the older sister and then go for the other sister. It's almost like dude get out of my house This is strange also. I think that you went on some dates with a guy is not necessarily Dating for a long time and whatever if you want on three dates with a guy and it didn't work out and it was two years ago But somehow him and your younger sister connected and they they get along or whatever I don't think that's necessarily. I'm actually walking back what I said earlier I don't think that's crazy. It really depends if you guys dated and you were like Telling your family about this guy and he met your family a bubble blah And then it doesn't work out and then he dates your sister that is psychotic that I'm like all right Let's get the police involved in this. I wouldn't be pissed at your sister necessarily because you went on a couple dates And it didn't work out So why would you be upset with your sister unless there was an actual connection? It didn't work out in that way But a few dates I don't think is enough to form like an actual connection to the point where it'd be like hey stay away from this guy Or you know, I don't know maybe I don't know maybe I just don't know my phone actually recorded a two minute voice Note of me and my husband saying some pretty filthy sexual shit to each other. I don't know why it says things and I said shit and the voice No, it sent to my in-laws group chat. I caught it in about 60 seconds and unscented But I have no idea if anyone the chat listened to it. Do I dress do I address the unsend or just let it be my Actual advice is pack up the van and move across the country, dude This is worse than the orgasms thing because I would need to know if they heard that or not because like Or you would think someone would address that also what the fuck are we doing over there you guys are in your faces saying sexual stuff and you're accidentally Recording that I've never accidentally took a voice note of anything Why do you got your phone in your hand when you're telling your husband you'd like to be cracked in half put the phone down I think as a nation we're too addicted to our phones to the point where accidentally recording our sexual desires and Sending it in the group chat with to stop this 60 seconds is also a lifetime in this situation, okay? 60 seconds you can pretty get pretty much guarantee for me if that happened to me 60 seconds I've listened to it five times no matter how long it is if I'm them I would ignore it so that puts you in a weird situation because I don't think anyone's gonna bring it up And they saw you once sent it so they know that you did that by accident So now you can't even lean on like it was a funny joke right you guys think it's funny that I told my husband I'd like to suck it like I'm mad at it you guys thought that was funny, right? Can't even do that because you unscented they know you're embarrassed so they're not gonna bring it up You just got to let time take this one after a couple of years you're probably look back and be like I don't even remember that happened black it out of your memory suppress it That's my advice and there you have it folks that is our video. That's what would Joe do, you know That's what I would do with those situations is a pretty tough and you know We're not all built for the those kind of situations, but I gave it my best shot off the top of my head So that's the best I got but that's all don't forget to subscribe and we'll see you next time
Podcast Summary
Key Points:
If found with $4,000 after a blackout, the best course is to keep it discreet, investigate through news or community reports, and avoid snitching on oneself.
Discovering a friend kissing another person should prompt a private, empathetic conversation, not a public exposure, to protect friendship and address trust issues.
In a situation where a friend claims to have hacked school grades, it's wise to remain skeptical, use plausible deniability, and avoid snitching due to low personal risk and potential misinformation.
Seeing a friend being sexually intimate with another person without revealing it is best handled by avoiding disclosure to protect the friendship and respect privacy.
Overhearing friends ranking people by looks should be ignored, as it’s likely a lighthearted comment, not a personal insult, and confrontation won’t improve self-worth.
Accidentally liking an old photo on someone’s social media should be addressed humorously and honestly to assess mutual interest without causing offense.
Discovering a partner smells like a family member (e.g., father) should be gently raised to avoid awkwardness, but handled with care to prevent misinterpretation.
Accidentally recording and sending a private voice note to family should be suppressed, as the risk of embarrassment and breach of trust is high, and time is the best remedy.

FAQs
Do not spend the money. Keep it safe and bank it. Wait a month to see if anyone claims it or if there's a suspicious pattern. If no one comes forward, the money may be yours, but avoid giving it to anyone or acting on suspicion.
Don’t bring it up. Instead, have a gentle, honest conversation about your friend’s relationship. Ask if she’s feeling anything new, which may help her reflect. Avoid inserting yourself into the drama to protect your own peace.
Don’t believe or confirm their claim. Say you didn’t know and express doubt about their story. The friend might be exaggerating or making it up. Your best move is to stay neutral and avoid being implicated.
No, don’t disclose it. The level of detail suggests deep interest, and sharing it could embarrass or out your friend. Respect their privacy and avoid giving them away, especially if they’re not ready to talk about it.
Don’t confront them. It’s not about your worth — they’re only ranking based on their perspective. You’re still attractive and valuable; the ranking doesn’t define your value or appeal.
Yes, but in a lighthearted way. Say something funny like, ‘I was just scrolling and accidentally liked your 2020 photo — I was hoping it was a sign of something!’ This keeps it playful and shows genuine interest without overstepping.
