This is like evil kind of story. Oh, yeah. Oh, dear. And so I'm going to be curious what you think about this. So here we go. Okay. I came across your show when I was finally out of things to listen to during work. I don't know if that makes me feel like there's nothing else to listen to. I guess I'll try this. But in a minute, we've got our hook now. It says thanks for keeping me sane while I work. You guys are the best. So that makes me happy. Anyway, my story begins when I met my friend Josh. Him and I have been friends for about five years now and are still good pals. I always knew something was special about Josh and I later found out about his special connection with the other side. He was able to connect and was able to feel them wherever we were. Josh was always a firm believer in the paranormal and he finally found a way he could talk to them without using a Ouija board. He didn't particularly like Ouija boards because he said he wasn't comfortable with the spirit's having to feed off your energy to talk to you. So he bought divining rods. Now, I'm going to jump in right there because we'll get into a little bit about divining rods. But it seems to me it would be the same sort of feeding off your energy to talk to you between a Ouija board or divining rods. It seems like it, but maybe not for Josh. I don't know. It says divining rods are copper rods that you hold by your sides and it has an L shape to them. So you hold them and you ask questions to spirits and they are able to answer you by saying only us or no with the rods. When you hold them, you ask a question. If they say yes, they'll swing in towards the middle of your body. If they say no, they'll swing out. If you aren't familiar with them, I'm positive you can find videos or pictures of them online anywhere. I can. But he used these many times to talk to spirits that he felt weren't harmful. So it seems like it's kind of the same sort of a thing, but I don't know. It must just be more comfortable for him to use that. Yeah. He's more comfortable doing it. I would not be comfortable using a damn Ouija board. I don't know about divining rods, but if I would do very well with that either, but still Ouija boards are just so cumbersome. Well, divining rods spell everything out. Well, in divining rods, you have to go, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no forever. You know, at least with the Ouija board, it would be you could spell it out. And it's like crap. You could give a name. Did anybody write down all those letters because I don't remember what he said. Yeah. Anyway, exactly. Is it B? Is it A? I don't remember. One night, he was determined to find something that was demonic. Okay, that's your first problem right there. Don't ever be part of a sentence that says, one night, he was determined to find out something that was demonic. It's just a bad idea. Now, it does explain it in the next sentence. Being the idiots that 18-year-olds are, we set out to find something we would later regret. We lived in a nice part of town in the suburbs of a nice neighborhood where not a lot of bad things happened. Josh told me about this unused sewer canal that he came across while hiking around the outer parts of town. He immediately felt something evil come from the dried out cement tunnel and he decided to explore inside. He walked in for about five minutes and his phone flashlight wasn't providing enough light anymore because the light of the sun had been swallowed out by the darkness of the tunnel. Something about all of this just isn't sitting well with me. As soon as he decided, he had seen enough, he decided to turn around and continue a psych. He came across something that would be ingrained into his head for years. All over the walls, he saw upside down crosses and strange writings that were spray painted with red. As he stepped back, he noticed he was standing on a pentagram that was also. Oh no. Gray painted on the cement floor of the tunnel. But the part that scared him the most and sent him running is that he saw in the corner. I don't know how there's corners in tunnels, but maybe there are two decapitated chickens that had obviously been used in some sick ritual. Oh. So this story gets worse. As soon as he saw that, he decided he'd seen enough and he ran as fast as he could out of there. He was 16 when he came across that. So it had been two years and he told me that it would probably be all right to go back, thinking that maybe the people who had been in that tunnel doing demonic things had most likely left and maybe found a new spot for their evil services. It just got bored cutting up chickens, I guess, or something. Let's move on out. But Josh is like, you know, there's one time I came across this a tanic ritual thing in a tunnel. I think enough times passed. It's cool. Let's go. So they did cleaned up all their stuff. They did. So my friend also named Tanner agreed that I think who's writing this is name, Tanner. Agreed that it was probably okay to go into the canal because we've felt since we've lived in such a nice neighborhood, it was probably totally bogus. So the three of us got into Josh's car. We drove out to the spot where you can leave your car and you have to hike into the desert. It only took us about 10 minutes to find the canal. And soon enough, we had our phone lights on walking through the spider infested tunnel. Oh, that's enough for me right there. Right there. Right there. That's the, I'm like, no, no, I'm out of here. Sometimes you just got to look at the signs around you. It's spider infested. Leave. Right. It took a while to walk into the tunnel to find the spot, Josh, and told us about. And with every step I took, I could feel my heart beating harder and harder. And soon enough, we saw the pentagram. I had thought Josh made up the whole story, but there I was looking at the upside down crosses and the red paint on the walls. There were no chickens there, which gave me a little bit of relief. Josh then proceeded to pull out his defining rods and began with a standard question. "Are there any spirits here?" It answered, "Yes." Chills ran down my spine and I already felt it getting darker. "Are you a boy?" It answered, "No." "Are you a girl?" It then answered, "No." Then in there, we knew we weren't in the presence of a once living human. This spirit was demonic for sure. He then asked, "Are you at peace?" And he answered, "No." I felt like I couldn't breathe. He asked a few more questions that I honestly can't remember to save my life. He finally asked, "Are you here to harm any of us?" The rods then swung in telling us, "Yes." Right then in there, I had to get out. I told Josh to stop to put the rods away and we got out of there faster than ever. None of us talked while driving home and we haven't talked about it since. That night I tried to sleep but it was impossible. I felt something staring at me and watching me while I lay there in bed. I remember staring at the corner of my room knowing something was there watching me. That's a freaky feeling. I never saw anything that night and finally fell asleep about 4 a.m. And as soon as I woke up, I read my Bible and prayed again like I had done the night before. I haven't felt anything since and I'm glad I haven't. Some people might think Josh was probably moving the rods on his own and if you've ever held divining rods, it's hard to keep them perfectly still and be able to move them left or right without moving your hand. I watched Josh the whole time and his arms and hands didn't move once. And there was no wind in the tunnel and even if there was, it wouldn't be able to turn in and out at the exact time with each other. Well, that's my story. Sorry, it was so long but thanks for reading it. I'm glad you guys have created a platform where people can share collective stories and not be judged. Love the podcast. So what do you think about all that one? Well, okay. So could it be Josh was bullenum playing a prank on him? I don't know because you know, it would have been pretty dark in there. Right. But he does say that he watched Josh the whole time and his arms and hands didn't move once. Now I will say I have zero experience with divining rods. I've never seen anyone use them before. So I can't really add a lot to that. Here's what I just think. And I don't know Josh. I don't know if he's a prankster guy that would set something up just to scary but everybody. I've had those, I've been around those people before that would do stuff just to scare everybody. But this one he seems to have been scared later because he felt like something was watching him. Now I will say this sometimes when you have an experience like that and you go home, you can't shut off your brain. Right. So you could have just been spooked and sensing something around you the whole night. Like I know that if I see a scary movie or last night, for example, I had a really scary dream and I woke up and I couldn't shut that scary dream feeling off. So when I would fall back to sleep, it was like the dream would just start up again. And sometimes I think that when you do have a really intense experience like that, you take it home with you. You're not going to go to bed that night and sleep just fine. You're going to go to bed that night thinking about even if Josh was punking you, you would still think that was a pretty terrifying experience. It was it was still terrifying, but he felt like it. It's weird. He felt like it was coming from one place in the room. If he'd said it all up and you were just afraid because something had happened to you because you know, you watch a movie or something and then all night, you're thinking you hear things or this happens or that happens. But it's weird. It wouldn't be more like that. And just everywhere you're sensing this and not instead of just one place. Next time Josh, I would want to go out. I'd be like, I'm not going to owe you no more Josh. Well, I might like okay, Josh, but no sewers. Right? Yeah, Josh. No demonic experiences tonight. No demonic experiences. Josh got other things we could do. That would be like we're going to the ball. Josh. Yeah, Josh. Come on, Josh, can we just go out and get a hot dog, Josh? Do something like normal 18 year olds? Like go to a baseball game. I don't know. Just something. Josh, we're going to the baseball game and leave your damn divining. I'm home. I mean, it does seem like when your friend says we should do something demonic tonight. I'm probably out. I'm like, I'm. I'm. Oh, you know, I'm. You just said I'm probably out. Well, that's true. I didn't. Well, it depends on exactly what it all entails. I guess. I mean, demonic from zero is a wee little bit demonic to 10 is full on demons. Where are we? Yeah. I mean, if it's a little bit, but we still get to go to a baseball game. Maybe I'll do it, you know, because it doesn't. We go to it, you know, right? We get to go to the art museum still, you know, if we go through that. I'll do one demonic thing with you as long as we can go to the baseball game.
