What the Shane Gillis Shorts Freakout Reveals, and the Inside Story of Tom Brady's Gisele Divorce and "True Love" Football, with Lars Anderson | Ep. 1419

Ilhan Omar is at the center of a major federal investigation into potential immigration fraud, with authorities alleging that her father misrepresented her age during naturalization, and that she may have altered her birth date to falsely claim citizenship. The investigation has expanded to include her family, particularly her sister Sarah Nure, who is suspected of using a shared address linked to known fraud cases, including a 2022 wire fraud conviction by Hannah Marrakeen. Financial disclosures from Omar, including a sudden spike and drop in income from a winery, have raised red flags about transparency. Federal agencies have seized her personal documents, including her passport, phone, and computers, as evidence suggests inconsistencies in her citizenship claims. The probe is multi-layered, involving both Minnesota and D.C. prosecutors, and may relate to broader fraud by Somali immigrant communities receiving federal aid. The case, reopened under the Biden administration, reflects a shift in enforcement after years of inaction. Meanwhile, the show also touches on political races, including a tight Senate race in Maine where controversy arises over a candidate’s personal conduct, and a debate on cultural sensitivity involving comedian Shane Gillis. Additionally, the discussion includes a case involving actress Selma Blair, whose behavior on a flight was attributed to a medical emergency due to neurological conditions, and the ongoing controversy over the Cornell eight case, where a governor is accused of prematurely declaring guilt. These discussions highlight the intersection of personal accountability, legal scrutiny, and media influence in public discourse.
Welcome to the Megan Kelley show live on Sirius XM channel 111 every week day at Neast. Hey everyone, I'm Megan Kelley, welcome to the Megan Kelley show and happy Thursday. We have a great show for you today, the author of a new book about Tom Brady will be here next hour with explosive revelations about his marriage to and divorce from Jezel. But we begin today with the latest unrepresentative Ilan Omar. We've been telling you about the federal raid at her Washington, D.C. residence while the Wall Street Journal is reporting that the feds have seized her phone, personal notebooks, personal computers, and her passport. Now, why would they want her passport probably to see the DOB, right? What is her birth date there? And when did she apply for the passport, and that's kind of interesting, isn't it? She may have gone back and changed her date of birth on her Minnesota website for when she was a state representative there. But did she bother to go back and change the passport and how long has she had the passport? Because if she had it before, she knew she needed to say that she was 17 when her dad was naturalized as opposed to 18, which would appear she actually was, there could be some proof there. The investigation is reportedly looking into whether she committed immigration fraud. And the Trump admin is aiming to build a case to strip her of her US citizenship. We told you that earlier this week. And obviously it's the play because if she's not a US citizen legitimately, then who cares if she's 32 points up in her district, she's going to lose that seat. And it may not happen before the November election, but that's irrelevant. If the Trump administration can prove that this woman is not a legitimate US citizen, she's going to lose her citizenship and she will not be eligible to hold that seat any longer. That's the facts. Most electrolytes on the market are packed with artificial flavors with stevia with table salt. But let me tell you about booey electrolyte drops. What is booey? It's a clean, purposely unflavored liquid electrolyte formula packed with 87 ocean harvested trace minerals. Love this. You can add a quick squeeze to any drink, even your morning coffee or matcha without changing the taste at all. This is so great. I hate it when you put one of these supplements in your drink and it ruins your drink. It's free from sugars, sweeteners, artificial ingredients, or synthetic flavors. And third party tested for impurities and heavy metals. Plus it's backed by real science. Booey says a university-led clinical trial published in the journal Nutrients showed that booey is clinically proven to hydrate 64% more than water alone and 49% more than leading sports drinks. If you want to make your favorite drinks instantly more hydrating, head to justadbooey.com/meganbooeyisbuoY. Justadbooey.com/megan. Use that code "megan" to get your 31% off the liquid electrolyte discovery set, backed by a 30-day risk-free guarantee. And if you or someone you know is living with a chronic illness, booey can help offset health care costs through their chronic illness lifetime support program. It takes just two minutes to apply. Specifically, the feds are now looking at whether Omar or her father changed her age on her citizen application back when he was naturalized. And we went through it yesterday. If you missed you yesterday's episode, you can download it. But we went through in great detail the evidence that she was actually 18 at that time. And not 17, as she would have had to be to sort of get citizenship thanks to her dad's naturalization. There's also a real question about whether the dad was naturalized lawfully, whether he lied. You know, we talked yesterday about how she referred to him as a teacher, or he referred to himself as a teacher allegedly, where it turns out he was a colonel and an army of a very brutal ruler who was killing between 50 and 200,000 Somalis, including mostly civilians. So did he commit fraud? And if he committed fraud, then she doesn't benefit from his naturalization wouldn't stand. He's dead now. But nor would hers. There's a few different ways to come at this. So she could be in a lot of trouble. And now the reporting on her is expanding. And we're now taking a look at those around her. Because the reports are that multiple family members received subpoenas yesterday. And our treaties ago. The AEP is reporting that the subpoenas were issued for a grand jury collecting evidence in Minnesota as federal authorities pro potential fraud in Omar's immigration paperwork said one person who spoke to them and that several of her relatives have received subpoenas. Now this is very interesting because if there's a grand jury in Minnesota that is probing fraud. The question is like here, the AEP reports probing fraud in her immigration paperwork. But I just don't, I'm not sure a Minnesota grand jury would be probing that. I think there may be potentially a couple of things going on here. Because we heard Janine Pirro say it's her office leading this investigation when she was on Fox the other day. Now it's been reported that Mark Wayne Mullin, our DHS secretary has suggested that they are examining potential crimes related to her family's immigration paperwork. So there's that. The one what I just went through the dad, her or the naturalization. But a grand jury in Minnesota could very well be looking at the family fraud with respect to Somali citizens. You know how the all these citizens of Minnesota, people residents, I guess I don't know if they're all American citizens, but residents of Minnesota have been like defrauding the federal government you and me and sending money back to Somalia. So I think this really is multi pronged. CNN is reporting that they, yes, indeed, they are focused on whether her deceased father lied about her age when he when she obtained citizenship in 2000. And then they remind us that Ilhan Omar has been under criminal investigation for years, including before Trump took office last year. Of course the DOJ under Joe Biden decided to just walk away, not pursue it. And now it's being pursued. That's changed. And CNN is explaining that this case was reopened last year. It's now being led by prosecutors in the deputy AG's office. All right. So I think this is what we're talking about. The U.S. attorney's office in Minneapolis and the U.S. attorney's office in DC has also been involved. So that's why I say this is, this thing is multi pronged. Jeanine Piro, I think, is zeroing in on the citizenship question. I'll bet you the Minnesota, U.S. attorney is probing some of that because, I mean, while her Minnesota residence has not been rated that we know of, there could be paperwork there speaking to it. And the fraud would have allegedly been committed there. They weren't living in Washington, DC when she felt out this paperwork. And the AG's office as well, maybe probing into what, what else was done once she got here and put down roots. Okay, because she, her sister reportedly, well, first the New York Times reported that the sister was served with a subpoena, but then Jesse Waters on Fox last night reported that the sister, she can't be found. NBC's Kelly O'Donnell said the same. The sister's name is Sarah Nure and we don't know where the sister is. What happened to the sister? We know the brusband is back in the UK, but we don't know where the sister is and the reporting on the sister is also troubling. Now, let me tell you why it is the sister likely got a subpoena or at least they tried to serve her with one. Number one, she could certainly speak to whether Omar married her brusband, the, the brusband brother, brother husband. But number two, the sister may have been involved in some fraud shenanigans of her own. And you know, all of us, I haven't even mentioned the funny business on ill and Omar's financial disclosures in the US house, you know, with that business, that winery, her husband had opened, which went from $51,000 of income in one year, up to $6 million in the next 30 million and then down to back down to nothing. That's very odd, very, very odd. But anyway, the sister, this is the Daily Wires Luke Rosiac reported this in July about the sister, that she incorporated her $20 million USAD company using the same home address because when you incorporate a business, whether it's a USAID company or other, you have to list an address. And she used as her home address at the time, the same address as one occupied by people directly involved in the massive fraud scandal that is now being investigated and prosecuted by the Feds. So ill on Omar's sister.
Wrote down as her home address when she incorporated her own 20 million USAID company an address at which People were living who are directly involved in the fraud scandal one of them pleaded guilty in 2022 to wire fraud for stealing seven million dollars. Why does she have the same home address listed as that person? What does that mean? Was she saying that they're doing business together out of that address? Was she saying that actually is her home where she lives her residence her abode? Either way, it's very suspicious. And it's not good. Was this sister directly involved in the Somali fraud scandal coming out of Minneapolis that has dominated the headlines for the past 12 months? Did Ilan Omar know about it? Does it explain the massive increase in wealth in Ilan Omar's financial disclosure, which then magically got erased once Congress started looking into it? All these questions are going to be asked and they're seeking answers on them right now. So this sister, Sara Noor, has run several businesses in the region, including the people's center clinics and services in the Somali neighborhood of Minneapolis, which received a two million dollar earmark while Omar was a state representative. Oh gee, how'd she manage that? She went on to find to found a group called grit partners consulting. She publicly says that company, quote, has secured more than 20 million dollars in funding for health initiatives and has, quote, consulted on projects backed by federal health agencies, such as USAID and Centers for Disease Control. Of course, USAID was effectively targeted by Trump, who said this is a front for absurd Democrat wish list projects that the American taxpayer should not be paying. And he and Ilan got excoriated for it, but they were right. Ilan Omar's sister appears to have been one of the beneficiaries. Now, grit partners was incorporated at this home on Hyacinth Avenue in Lakeville, Minnesota. And who lived there? Somebody problematic, as I said, it's occupied by Masha Ahmed Ali and his wife, Mr. Ahmed Afra. Well, all this stir has had some issues. According to incorporation records, Mr. Ahmed Afra, again, who occupies the house that Omar's sister listed as her home when she incorporated grit partners. She opened a company called Sunrise Business Center Inc. alongside a person named Hannah Marrakeen, M-A-R-E-K-E-G-N. Marrakeen is directly involved in the fraud scandal, pleading guilty in 2022 to wire fraud for stealing seven million dollars. Marrakeen claimed to be feeding 4,000 poor children a day. Instead, she bought a mansion for herself claiming that she embodied the American dream. Marrakeen testified under oath that she falsely alleged racism to manipulate Minnesota bureaucrats to look the other way at this scandal. Okay, so it's occupied, the home is occupied by Masha Ahmed Ali and his wife, Mr. Ahmed Afra. And Afra opened this company alongside Hannah Marrakeen. They opened Sunrise Business Center. So her partner is this American, and that is the one directly involved in the fraud scandal. So I should correct it the way I phrased it earlier. It's not necessarily the wife ister who pleaded guilty. It is not the wife ister who pleaded guilty. It's her business partner, Hannah Marrakeen, and Hannah Marrakeen is directly involved in the fraud scandal. So there's the linkage problematic, potentially troubling, potentially, and one of the many things undoubtedly the feds are looking into right now. So that's the latest on Ilhan Omar. Her phone is in the possession of the federal authorities as is her laptop, as is her passport, and we're getting closer and closer on whether this person even belongs in the United States. I mean, what a what a turn that would be if she did not. Lots of news out there right now about the midterms. The biggest headline is that the Senate races are tightening, and it's no longer a foregone conclusion that the Senate is gone, that it could be down to maybe just a loss of a net loss of one seat for the Republicans based on the way the polling is looking right now and how things are tightening. Nobody knows anything. Nobody knows nothing about nothing. So we're going to have to wait until we get to November to find out, but it is interesting to watch some of the machinations. And none more so than what I saw in Maine. Okay. The cousin's stripper, Troy Jackson, the guy who's making babies with his own second cousin, which is gross. He's taking on Susan Collins. And the Susan Collins main race is very interesting. It's like Maine is not very red, but they like Susan Collins. And she really has shown independence when it comes to Trump. She's definitely tried to stand up to Trump. That's why Maga doesn't really like her. But it's the reason why she's still holding on and why Republicans have at least a shot of holding onto that seat. So he's trying to take her down. And he's been a couple of points ahead. It's been back and forth. She was up like 0.5 over him, not five, but 0.5 over him recently. But now he's recaptured the lead. It's like depending on the poll, one of them will be one or two points up. So this is neck and neck. Well, they've had a series of four debates. Remember we showed you the one last Monday where they were debating salt? Well, they had one the other night and and credit to the daily because they had a good show today talking about some of these issues. And one of the correspondence on there shows this is their most telling sound bite. I had missed it. Thankfully, kind of, but now I want you to hear it because I had to this guy, Troy Jackson, he's so gross. In the middle of one of her answers, he burped. Watch this. I have proven time and time again that I deliver for the state of me. How gross is he? Like, there's something wrong with this man. Who would do that? It's just so bizarre. Like, who would just let it out? You know, like, where else was gas coming out of Troy Jackson that night? It makes you wonder. Makes you really glad maybe they weren't right next to each other on the debate stage if he was feeling so gassy during the middle of a debate for the US Senate. It's disgusting. He's gross. I don't know that this is going to turn an election, but I agree with the correspondent on the daily. It's telling. It's disgusting. It doesn't reflect well. It's beneath the dignity. Get it together, sir. But anybody who's going to f their cousin, I mean, truly, how can you trust them not to be disgusting? Is this what we want in the US Senate? My friends in Maine, Susan Collins, she's done a good job for Maine. I mean, she actually does look out for Maine. She tries to get as much pork for Maine in whatever spending bill she can. That's her job. It's not necessarily something the taxpayers nationally love. But let's not be ridiculous. This person is an absurd person and cannot go to the US Senate. And I actually do think Susan Collins will pull out this race down in Texas. You know, it's anybody's ball game. Ken Paxton had had an ad cut for him by his ex-wife. She didn't mention his name, but she got on camera and talked about voting for the party. Like what's important is to back the party. And she's a Republican and also a politician. And so clearly it was as close as she was willing to get to saying vote for my gross ex-husband who cheated on me and was just seen and taped. It was from 2024. But overseas in the Middle East with his affair partner and two people who are facing, I don't know, some sort of criminal problems back at home. Just every day brings another negative headline about Ken Paxton who really doesn't seem like a good man at all. But on the other side, you've got James Talleriko who had a CNN town hall last night in which he was trying to tell us that abortion is not a sin covered in the Bible. Here he is where a Catholic woman had asked him about it, so far. We may come to different moral and ethical conclusions when it comes to the question of should abortion be legal or not? It sounds like you and I do come to a different conclusion. That's okay. We're both Christians and the Bible is silent on the issue of abortion. It means you and I both have to look at different scriptures to try to come to a conclusion. But what I think we do is actually come together on reducing the number of unplanned pregnancies and the number of abortions. Because if we treat this issue as a public health problem and not a culture war problem, then we can actually make progress together. I also want to see fewer unplanned or unwanted pregnancies. I want to see fewer abortions. And so you and I actually have the same goal. We may have different moral conclusions when it comes to this particular ethical question, but we actually have the same public policy goal. Okay, so that woman's name is Jody Hunt and she had a quick correction for the seminary.
in. Tellariko, listen here. Just wanted to add that the Bible is not silent on abortion. There is the Tinkumama Sashana Kill and as Catholics, we take great insult. I guess sometimes was sprouted that way. Yeah, you think? It's ridiculous. The Bible's silent on the killing of unborn babies, the most vulnerable among us. Yeah, she's right. It's covered. And there are other passages in the Bible that are arguably covered as well, but this is an absurd debate. And there he is. I mean, really, this is this guy who is running for US Senator from the state of Texas. So Texans are going to elect that. I think they might. I don't know. I really don't know how this race is going to go. I've said before and I do think that up in Michigan, L. Syed is going to win. And I'll get to him in a second. But down in Texas, even though Ken Paxe then really seems pretty gross. He did, like I understand. I don't, I don't know if I could pull the lever for him. I really don't. I just, I would never vote for Tolerico, but I can relate to those Texans who are like, I'm going to stay at home. I can't, I can't tolerate this. And here's, here's one of the problems that Republicans down there I know are dealing with. Paxe is so gross and so morally bankrupt. I mean, he was impeached by his own party. You know, he's cheated on the wife. His own staff turned him in for unethical behavior. Like eight of them turned him in. It wasn't like one rogue employee. Eight of them said that he's like self dealing with this guy. He's, he's not behaving ethically ethically. And so like there's just been a lot around him. I think the problem in saying you got to hold your nose and vote for him is that they just did that with Donald Trump. They, they know that Trump was a serial adulterer and had some ethical lapses arguably. And certainly those things around, you know, whatever, some of the allegations that were hold curled at him by Jack Smith may have been ethical problems, but not legal ones. And so they kind of said, I'm going to overlook all that and I'm going to trust Trump. And once Trump got in office, there's been a fair amount of self dealing and breaking of promises like big ones, like the war in the Middle East and so on. So I think that it's a, it's a problem. That's why Governor Abbott is not campaigning with Trump down in Texas. And he's in quite a tight race himself. So like Republicans, some of them, because Trump's popularity with Republicans is at a surprising low. It's in the low 70s now where it was in the high 90s. And it's over some of these issues. So you're asking those same people, you know, these, these races are going to come down to thousands of votes. We're not talking about millions. So that, those numbers matter that fall in support to take a risk. And then they, then they're responsible for what Paxton does when he's in office. And I think a lot of them just don't want that responsibility. But if you don't vote, kind of have the responsibility either anyway, you know, it's like, if you don't vote in Tolerico wins, you're kind of responsible for him winning. At least I think. Anyway, that's a, I don't envy you, my Texas friends. And Tolerico, here's one of the problems. He, what he exhibited with CNN last night, and I would never vote for him. I'd never, never. God is non binary. And the thing about Mary, mother Mary being pro choice. Okay. I'll get to that in a second just to remind you, but Tolerico has a, our, arguable sense of charm. I'm not charmed by him, but I can see how others might be because he's a good talker. And he has like a nice affect to the way he delivers a message. And he's kind of smiley. And I mean, what, what's the main thing you think of when you think of Paxton? How unattractive he is and how Trump is always underlining it. Trump's doing that to try to neutralize his very strange appearance, you know, it's got the weird eye thing. I don't, whatever. But that's contrasted against Tolerico. You know, one is like smiley and sort of, I don't know, affable seeming Tolerico. And one is like, oh, God, isn't he best known for cheating on his wife. She filed for divorce on Biblical grounds. It's just not a great contrast. This is what the GOP's up against here is that same Catholic Jody Hunt, who was standing up for the unborn by the end of that CNN town hall, sought seven. But I was really impressed with him this evening. I think over the last few months between him and Paxton, and the mud slinging like that first question that was asked has caused a lot of noise, where I haven't really heard from Tolerico himself. And I found a more balanced politician. I was surprised at how centrist he was on many of the issues. And I think that has brought me to a deeper understanding. It's caused some things for me to think, well, let me rethink that. And I liked that he responded to me. I liked that he invited us to sit down and challenge him. Because oftentimes Catholics, we focus on that one issue. Yeah. And to have someone say, well, let's talk about it. Let's come to a common ground. There's no common ground on abortion. I was like, what kind of an answer is that? I guess she's not like a diehard Catholic. I'm not sure. It's not ambiguous. I wouldn't consider myself extremely religious. But I know that one. I've got two kids who just have their confirmations and a third who just started his classes. And they're pretty clear on abortion. So there's no compromise on abortion. I don't even know what she's saying. But he was given this forum in which they preselected individuals to come up and ask him questions. And he handled them fine. And he's a smooth talker. So this is what the Republicans are up against down in Texas. If if Paxton pulls this thing out, it will be because they are dumping. The GOP is dumping money into that race. Like there's no tomorrow. And by the GOP, I mean Elon Musk that can Paxton better get down on his knees and kiss Elon Musk's feet if he wins this thing because he put some nearly $200 million. Well, over 300 million into Republican races. And I ton of it down in Texas where Elon moved his business when California lost its mind. So that's that's what I'll do it. It'll be all the negative ads against Talleriko and a general propensity amongst Texas voters to vote red. But I don't I don't know how that race is going to come down. And then there's Michigan where the GOP is doing everything it can do out of a playbook that has worked for them for many, many years to paint El Sayed as a radical, who's a radical Muslim with connections to radical Muslims. And he does have some like they're not wrong that he's got some connections at least to some pretty radical people. He was piling around with the, you know, Hassan Piker, a very controversial left wing podcaster who said America deserved nine 11. I mean, honestly, tell it to the three-year-old girl who's on the plane trying to go to Disney fuck off. I just I can't with this guy. But it's not it's not really great spokesperson for your campaign, El Sayed. But he he did. But the GOP is trying very hard to paint him as a radical. And the latest attempt has to do with his mother, who I guess did not raise him. His mother seems like a rather radical person. And but his parents divorced when he was three. And he was raised by his father and his stepmother. And the, but the mother had some questionable ties. And you may recall that Kristen Welker of meet the press asked El Sayed about whether anybody in his family had ties to the Muslim brotherhood on meet the press last week. And he said, no, he was explicit about it. And then it emerged that his mother does indeed, or at least did indeed have multiple ties to the Muslim brotherhood. And it wasn't particularly quiet. It was not a secret. That was a while ago, and I have no idea what the current status is. I don't know anything about the mother present day. Or whether they have a relationship, he did mention her and describe her in great detail in his book. So it's not like he has no knowledge of her. It's not like she abandoned him and never came back. But here he was confronted by an NBC reporter about all of this. And this is how that went. Watch. Weeds have emerged now. Had an amazing talk with my mom about her activism in the Muslim brotherhood during the early 70s while she was in college. Hashtag respect. My family has long been an MBA. Let me finish. Prane for all my family that supports the MBA in Egypt. Can you just explain it? Yeah, Tom, it's funny to me. I was born in 1984 down the street in Rochester Hills. I was raised here in Michigan, went to the University of Michigan, rebuilt the health department in the city, led the health department in this county. And you want to ask me about what was happening in Egypt in 1970? Are you serious? I get it, but you were asked a question. Does it count like an answer? Does it count like the same? Yeah, I'm telling you. I have no ties. We have no ties. So your mother had no ties. I have never had these conversations with my mother. I was raised by my mother. So you were you were unaware. But but I'm just telling you that like you're using hearsay evidence from a tweet. I say she's not serious. It's just right. But you've also got to tell you right now, this you've also gone after the proper truthfulness. So when people ask you a question, they all do expect the truth. And do you think do you think are you are you insinuating that somehow is lying? I don't know. That's why I'm asking and I'm telling you I was not. Okay, so clearly the mother did have ties because those tweets that he was being asked about were from El Sayed's half sister who's got the same mother and they're still up. They haven't been taken down.
I mean, the mother seems rather sketchy, but and his answer was sketchy there. You heard him dodging this. Here's say, what the fuck? We're not in a courtroom. What do you mean to answer it? Does she have the tizer? Doesn't she? This is your half-sister saying this. We're allowed to have out-of-court statements offered for the truth of the matter. Grow up. Clearly, he's got an MD, not a JD, or he'd know that. He already knows that. He's just manipulating. He doesn't want to say it. I mean, honestly, he should say what my half-sister may know better than I. He should ask her, but my mother wasn't an active part of my life, and I have no ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, nor do I approve of any ties a family member may or may not have had. Like, just say that. Okay, but here's the thing. So the GOP is rightfully raising this, and surprisingly, an NBC News anchor raised it too. I don't think it's going to work. And the reason I don't think it's going to work is because the anger over Israel is white hot. It's white hot amongst independents, which are probably going to decide this race, and amongst enough Republicans that they're not going to pull the lever for a mic, Rogers. The Republicans who are very, very angry at Trump over this war are not going to vote for a Neocon GOP. Period. They're not. So Rogers is not going to get those people off the couch for him, and continuing to point out El Sayyed's radical ties aren't going to do it because there is that, remember, El Sayyed and the debate wouldn't say who's a greater danger, Israel or Iran. And the reason he wouldn't say that is because he understands there's a large constituency out there that while they understand Israel's not launching a tax on us and helping bomb our troops in places like Iraq, when we were there, they are responsible in the eyes of millions of Americans for getting us involved in the Iran war. You know, in a way that even Iran wasn't able to do. So I just don't think this is a fruitful line of attack. I genuinely don't. I'd be pouring over his, you know, Medicare for all pushes and how that's going to deprive people of their private health insurance eventually and his trans stance, which is as radical as they come. I don't, I'd be pushing that stuff. I would not be pushing this stuff if I were in charge of Mike Rogers campaign or the GOP's efforts to take him down. Okay. I want to keep going. Lots of other things to discuss. I want to get back to what happened. Well, let me just cover the Shane Gillis thing because we haven't talked about that on this program. You know, Shane Gillis is a comedian. He got canceled several years ago from a job on SNL because he was doing, it came out after he took the job that he had done a comedy, but he's a comedian, imitating an Asian speaker. It was funny, like lighten up my God. It doesn't make you hate Asians because you choose to imitate an Asian with an Asian accent. Like this is so absurd. We can do this with a version of, in fact, when I imitate a Russian and I use a Russian accent, no one's going to call me a racist. Like what? It's just like Asians, you're not allowed to do it. I don't make these rules. And honestly, I don't respect these rules either, which is why I no longer work at NBC. So Shane Gillis, like, you're truly lost a job at NBC because he wasn't politically correct. And then over time, as even I guess NBC loosened up, they had Shane Gillis back on SNL to host. I guess this was his third time. We went out there and he made a comment about women looking like prostitutes at the gym with their teeny weeny bikini outfits that try to pass for clothing. I have seen this, if you go to gyms, you have seen this and it is ridiculous. And I do feel like I have a leg to stand on here as a former, actually quite serious aerobics instructor. I actually did teach aerobics for some 15 years at a very high level, nonstop and spent my life in gyms for a long, long time. And this is not how people dressed. And it was, you know, the late 80s into the 2000s when I was doing it. And that's what the age of the neon and the spandex and the thong and like, but you know what? We wore the thongs over black spandex leggings. I'm sure there was the occasional person who would wear a thong over like nude tights, but they would be like real tights that were not sheer, you know, like there was a level of modesty. Now you go to the gym and it's so in your face, it's really, it's like truly, are you looking for a date? Are you looking to be old, old, old, old, I guess? Or are you looking to work out because like spirit, no one here wants to take a look at your tits and ass while they're trying to get in shape. It's ridiculous. I mean, I think most women have seen this and recoiled. Never mind the guys who feel like perverts, just if their eyes brush by it, you know, it's like they're trying not to look, but it's right in your face. Like cover up. If you want to be an only fans model, go on only fans and start charging for it. So he made a joke out of it. And you know what? He's lucky that it was a joke. I mean, as you can hear from my own commentary, I'm far less kind about it. They do look like prostitutes, 100%. It's a no brainer. Why are these people pretending that they're so offended by what he said when it's true? So here's what he said. I try to go to a public gym, going to the public gym is a fat guy, especially in New York. It's a nightmare, dude. Everyone's just the hottest gay guys you've ever seen. They're jacked and they look at me, they're like, yeah, right, I know, dude. Also, I've been to the gym in so long. I didn't know women just dress like whores now. Look, there's no other way to describe, have you seen it? I've seen it, the shorts, have you seen the shorts? There's neon, they're like, the only, they're like, artificial bait colors, the wrinkles, the wrinkles go like around the cheeks and all combined at the butthole. And don't look. You're not allowed to look. Karoo don't look because they are filming. I'm in the background of like 10 TikToks right now, for sure. So, to be clear, he did not say women are whores. He said they dress like whores. And he's right, it's fact check, true. 100%. He didn't say all women, but it is a lot of women if you go to the gyms today. And it's just absurd. I think a lot of us are over it and the way of changing it is by speaking out about it. Well, now that the left is having a meltdown over this as though he pulled some woman's clothes off in a gym and called her a whore. It started with Dan Levy, the guy behind Shits Creek, who somehow appointed himself moral arbiter after working on that show for all these years. Who gives a shit what Dan Levy has to say? But like so many men, usually the ones who have something to hide or feel guilty about. He decided to be outspoken on this issue. If you look by the way at the men who are the most outspoken on the Cornell eight case, the ones who are so off, it's so disgusting, they need to be charged, they need to be charged immediately. They're criminals. It's guys who have something. They've got something going on in their past that they feel guilty about. They're trying to atone for. They're too scared to be honest about the fact that no crime was committed here. That's separate from condemning the morality of what happened that night, which I've done from the beginning, as you know. But I'm just saying, if you rush to the microphone to go condemn Shane Gillis for his alleged sexism in this comment, you're saying something about yourself. Well here is guy number one, Dan Levy, with his commentary, sought 36. Women wearing shorts, shorts to the gym does not make them whores. It makes the men calling them whores misogynists. There's a difference there. By the way, I've seen more men's nipples at the gym than I've ever seen women showing their bodies off. Sure. But it's the same thing. Sure. I'm speechless that something like that can exist on live national television. And to be perfectly honest, more men need to be standing up in opposition to it because it's complacency that has created the environment with which women are sexually assaulted. And it's a conversation as opposed to a crime. Okay, he didn't call anybody a whore. Saying someone looks like a whore is not the same thing as saying you're a whore. Trust me, I've done both, and I know what the difference is. You're shocked that this can be on national TV. Do you do you watch TV? Do you just write that one show? Because this kind of commentary is commonplace on television. It's not particularly provocative even as you should know, son of Eugene Levy, right? Your dad is a lot funnier than you are. So this gets a thing going where now everybody's got to speak out about how misogynist Shane Gillises, and that brings us to here's the views alleged conservative Sarah Haynes, South 39. Well, I typically defend comedy at all costs because I believe there has to be an area where comedians are able to walk right up to that line because some of the best stuff is when people are being super
risky and risky but Dan levy brought up such a good point first of all he is a God I love him so much but he's bringing up a great point of when the language like horror is passed along it might I might have not noticed it before in the past because it was in under the guys of a joke and what as we're talking about this Cornell 7 I'm not saying a joke makes an assault but it makes it much easier to look at as another human as an object okay the woman involved in the Cornell fake rape case was behaving like a horror what is it when you decide to have sex on your own with four different men in a night that is by anybody's measure behavior that resembles that of a horror not calling her a horror but the behavior is horror like and it does appear to have been voluntary and to her liking based on the testimonials that came out that night when she was pulling the last two men in she's on record is saying she enjoyed her time with the first two and according to the second two men she was pulling them in and offering them sex and they were both saying oh I wasn't expecting this we don't have to do this and she was saying we're all consenting adults here and shewing away people who were checking on her to make sure she was okay and did she want to leave that room she didn't she was opening the door okay so like just stop what happened to Jane Doe at Cornell was not caused by some callous attitude in the society of her referring to women as horse if anything it was caused by women like Alex Cooper who are out there begging them to be horse and promising that there would be some weird club of women like her who would give them snaps if they would just give it up and it would be super cool and they'd feel great about themselves she's a disgusting filthy pig liar and Jane Doe follows Alex Cooper on social media so you query an answer for me who's more responsible for what happened in that night a comedian who makes jokes like that about women dressing provocatively or a woman who actually repeatedly encouraged group sex with the promise that she'd be proud of you if you would do it someone who actually Jane Doe follows on social media I look forward to you speaking about out about it Sarah as the resident conservative on the view I'll wait let's see who gets to it first you or the other idiot masquerading as a conservative on television Jenna Bush Hager an absolute doll who uses her stupid platform honestly like everyone knows what she's doing there she's the ultimate nepo baby she has no independent skills she's not even smart and she goes out there and says the following stop 39 who is he to comment on women's bodies and I think like we become this culture Shane Gillis among many so where online creates I mean he's obviously on Saturday night live but this perpetuates what is happening in our culture where people are commenting on women's looks like Nazia and it makes it it's almost made it okay yeah and it's not okay it's not okay and and I think like if we want to be good role models for children like stop talking about the way women look oh my god like this is so absurd this this is giving me like throwback to when I was there it doesn't NBC own bravo right it certainly did for many many years you know what show made bravo the real housewives keeping up with the Kardashians what do you mean there's an obsessive focus on women's looks you look at your own property you cash the check every week's sister you're living off blood money if you've got a problem with the company that makes money off of women's looks or that has a commentary on women's looks that's your daddy not a actual daddy he's a good man how ridiculous who is she kidding like who do you think paid for your apartment in Tribeca huh who do you think did that the check cash and you left all the way to the bank and now you want us to believe that you're very upset about a joke that was told oh on your network by the way on your network did you do something about it did you call Lauren Michaels did you call the NBC brass and complain did you say I'm not I'm not taking one more dime of this money until you assure me that SNL will come out and apologize for this and will publicly flagulate Shane Gillis what did you do I mean I'm so glad that you're now on the feminist train and you're going to stand up to anybody making comments about women's looks you take that baton sister I got a new I got one for you just the very same day you made that comment which was Tuesday you know what your friend over on ABC Jimmy Kimmel did we had some thoughts about the new press secretary and here they are want to introduce you to the new kid in Trump land it was the first day of kindergarten for the new White House press secretary Katie Zachariah you know Trump's been president for quite a long time now I think it's been about what 50 60 years and in order to keep him awake and interested every six months they bring in a new fawning blonde doll to add to the rotation things did not get off to a great start for Malibu Katie today her first briefing was brief it was only 14 minutes long but even in that short time she accomplished exactly what she was brought in to do which is slobber a whole tube of lip gloss all over the presidents behind okay I did she speak out that's he's talking about her looks he's insulting her I under the Jenna Bush Hager rule you're not allowed to do that under the Sarah Haynes rule you're contributing to rape culture so did Jenna that was two day night did Jenna speak out she's got a platform five days a week did she let's check in to see what she did on her show the next day I remember and this is the way I remember it so mom if you disagree we all have our own memories okay I remember there was a burgular is that right big a bag oh it's called big a bag can you get in this I can't no first of all this is not my butt you get a butt you get a butt with a little brown this is ridiculous yes it is I was hoping to make you both laugh and I sort of did that thank you for why does he have hair on his head like that well that is bad but a butt jiggle toy and a bag that can carry a man I guess we didn't have time to call out the latest man who's making inappropriate comments on a woman's looks Jenna just not enough time in the rundown yesterday well today's Thursday maybe you'll do it today we'll update tomorrow can't wait this is just all much to do about nothing about nothing there are some who are speculating this whole bit by Shane Gillis was a setup to promote a new show that he is on that in which he gets caught looking at a girl in short shorts at the gym it's called tires it runs on Netflix we'll see whether you know either way he doesn't need SNL but this is just an absurd story that has dominated the culture talk for days now and I'm over it here's one more for you this fitness influencer so he carpenter had the following to say in sat 37 on CBS mornings one of a joke is to be funny I didn't find anything funny about it so he carpenter is a fitness coach and content creator she worries jokes like the one Gillis made Saturday could discourage some women from working out all together if a woman is already feeling hesitant to go to the gym that would be a situation in which seeing a joke like this would further discourage her from even stepping through the front doors oh my god Shane Gillis this joke is going to discourage women from going to the gym now not any normal woman hopefully it will discourage the women who dress like sluts from wearing those outfits which I don't want to see your badge I don't want to see it when you're jail at the halftime show during the Super Bowl and I don't want to see it on the lead press if I'm at the gym I just want to work out I want to lift my weights and I want to think about getting fit and staying well and not your tits and ass period Shane Gillis did is all a favor he did us an enormous favor grow up and more importantly cover up good gracious dumbass story we've been stuck with um okay president Trump on John Houston has made some news stop 14 watch this I don't do this with men very often I started examining his body because I didn't know he was a great athlete and I looked and I watched up and down I looked at his ass and I looked at the whole and then I looked at his hands look at his hands he's got these like claws and I got it you are a great athlete I didn't know that because he doesn't talk about that congratulations now they finally know that was very good Jenna Jenna someone's talking about looks can we talk about men's looks is that is that also a problem is just the women because we're creating rape culture if we say anything about their looks I mean walk walk me through it um you've got to watch this because whenever a our favorites online brand.
Manhattan, the guy who's always doing Trump commentary in like a gay mocking way. In a fun way, took on that comment here it is, not 15. And I don't do this with Ben very often. I started examining his body because I didn't know he was a great athlete. And I looked and I watched up and down and I looked at his ass and I looked at both. And then I looked at his hands, he's got these like claws. And I got it. You are a great athlete. I didn't know that because he doesn't talk about that. Congratulations. Now they finally know. That was very good. So good. Be right back. We've all heard those radio ads about owing money to the IRS. They try to scare you and push you into calling out of fear. But tax relief advocates takes a different approach. If you owe the IRS 5,000, 50,000 or even 500,000, TRA has real solutions to fix your tax problem. Don't lose hope. TRA can often reduce or completely eliminate what you owe. Their focus is taxes and helping people and businesses resolve IRS problems. They have more than 1,000 five star Google reviews and an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. You no longer have to fear the IRS. Tax relief programs exist right now that can give you a clean slate so act today. Go to TRA.com. That's TRA.com or call 800-575-6845. Again, that's 800-575-6845. Tax relief advocates, real solutions for real people. I wanted to give you an update on Selma Blair who was in a skirmish that she created on Adelta Airlines flight earlier this week, going from LAX to JFK. As we reported, she tried to open the door to the aircraft while it was mid-flight. Two flight attendants tried to stop her. She then fought with them. She bit one of them and hit another to the point where the pilot felt they needed medical attention when they got off the flight. Then she, Selma Blair, was placed in a stretcher because she had managed somehow to injure herself on the flight, hitting her head on a bulkhead. She managed to get her foot out of a strap on the stretcher and kick a port authority cop in the face and the jaw and the head and then injured another person who was a nurse trying to attend to her. She's facing a bunch of charges, assault charges at the state level and federal charges we believe will come to very soon for what she did onboard the aircraft. The bail was set at $20,000 and she had to pay, I think it was $60,000 she had to pay 20. That's how bail works to get out and she did pay it, but we, since that happened, have been looking for the full court hearing, which was on cam to find out more about what exactly the lawyer argued. We could only find snippets and we finally managed to get our hands on it. So we wanted to show you how he explained her behavior and here it is in stop 20. This is Ms. Blair's first rush with the criminal justice system. She's never been arrested. You're on the circumstances alleged in the complaint on the product of a medical emergency not a intentional criminal conduct. Prior to the flight and issue, Ms. Blair and Ms. several doses of Novakstok, a powerful medication that controls severe neurological symptoms and Ms. Blair boarded this flight after being on set and working extensive hours and exhaustive hours in the days leading up to this flight. Where Ms. Blair actually fell and hit her head. These factors you're on coupled with the altitude resulted in a state of severe confusion and disorientation. And the medical causes of this are corroborated by the fact that law enforcement had to transport Ms. Blair to the hospital last night, where she was discharged after approximately seven or eight hours and just hours later, she had to be transported back to the hospital for administration of additional medication. Ms. Blair did not get on that plane intending for any of this. You're on. Again, this was a medical emergency. Okay. Well, New Dextra, the drug that he mentioned there, is a prescription medication used to treat something called pseudo-bulber-affect PBA, a neurological condition that causes sudden uncontrollable episodes of crying or laughing that do not necessarily match how a person feels emotionally. It can occur in people with neurological diseases or brain injuries, including MS. Well, she has MS, and the lawyer also told the judge she has something called Parkinson's ism, which again, I don't really understand what that is. Is it a different thing than Parkinson's? But some neurological issues. So I don't know. The sudden uncontrollable episodes of crying or laughing, we heard that video or that audio of her being taken off the plane, screaming, "No, no, no, she wasn't necessarily crying or laughing," but maybe it can induce, you know, massive emotional swings like that. We've also now gotten our hands on social media, a social media post from before this whole thing happened. And on her social media, on Instagram, prior to boarding the flight, we now know via the New York Post that she liked a fans comment that read, "I'm so happy you're feeling great and doing great and making new memories." But she actually posted a response that read, "I'm it great." And then added, "I'm sad. I'm grateful. I hope. I am not great." So she already sounds disjointed before she gets on the aircraft, before any altitude, etc. And it does seem like a neurological event, doesn't it? I mean, it just seems like such a bizarre thing for someone to do. However, there was the prior incident. This was not her first rodeo in the sky. And back in 2016, as we reported to you, she had to apologize following an incident on board another Delta flight where she allegedly mixed alcohol and medication before she started crying and shouting about being abused on the flight home from cancun yelling, "He burns my private parts. He won't let me eat or drink. He beats me. He's going to kill me." And she later said she had mixed alcohol with medication, which is what caused her to quote "blackout" and to say things I deeply regret. So this is a pattern for her. And therefore, to me, it's a bit of a mystery exactly what went into her behavior. Not taking the meds or taking the meds and mixing them with alcohol are both going to be on her. She's not going to be excused because she made the decision to go off her meds or in the earlier case to mix them with alcohol. Like that's still on Selma Blair. It does not vitiate criminal responsibility. This is not an intent crime. Did you hit the people that didn't you? You assaulted them. Period. They're not going to care. Oh, I did it because I missed a med dose. I'm not sure what's happening here. Selma Blair, her lawyer, did indeed appear to use her celebrity for a guy that had a jail free card, some sort of a chit with the judge and to her credit the judge was not having it. But here's her lawyer, Joshua, writes us in court. It's not 21. She wanted me to make a record that what she's done for people, what she's done is a human being, should be at least acknowledge. Council, thank you for your arguments. My role is still set. I just wanted you to know I didn't ask her special treatment, just an acknowledgement at the same time of her action and conduct that has upon you. I made my ruling. I understand, but I asked you for a discretionary role and not under the statute of view court. Okay. My discretion is used and it's the implication castle. I'm not going to go through this on the record that you're trying to use her status to have the court and its discretion changed the bail. Yes. She was right. How are they asking for special treatment for her, talking about what she's done and the acting that she's done, like trying to make her sound like mother Teresa? It's like what she's done as a human being, should at least be acknowledged, want to make a record of what she's done for people. I mean, and he said, I wanted you to know I didn't ask for special treatment, just as an acknowledgement at the same time of her action and conduct that as a body of work. Okay. No one cares that she acted in what, like legally blonde. And therefore she shouldn't be held responsible given her commitment to the law. Like, what are you talking about? And the judge, to her credit, saw I'm coming from a mile away and was not going there. So that's what happened with Selma. There's a bit more in her background, which I'm going to hold until tomorrow when our pal Maureen Callahan is here because I want to discuss it with her. So put a pin in that for right now. Here's news in the Cornell eight case in which governor Hokel during a debate to save her political career, decided to double down. I'm prejudging the case, setting that this is just like when Joe.
Biden called Kyle Rittenhouse a white supremacist. You have, he was running for president at the time, but you've got somebody who either is the chief executive of a state or a country in Biden's case or wants to be in Hocal's case currently. It's both. She'd like to keep the job pre-judging a case and telling the masses from whom the jury pool will be picked and the ultimate petite jury will be picked, that they're guilty. So you know, they're guilty. And here was that moment from the debate the other night and sat 31. >> Listen, I'm a mom, I've dropped a daughter off at a college campus. There should not be a culture that allows for a young woman to be so brutally attacked at out of fraternity and then literally have the courage to go ask for help from law and force. So you know how difficult it is for a victim to have to tell her story to strangers, but she did it and also the evidence seemed very clear and I'm not, I'm not prosecuting this case. Seemed very clear that the boys and the fraternity were trying to cover up what they had done. There were a lot of acknowledgments, a lot of text that were coming up. So I said this, I want there to be an independent investigation. That's underway. But also it became clear to me that the district attorney had already denied the opportunity to interview this young woman. I come from a family of prosecutors, you should know enough to interview a victim of a crime and not just dismiss it. That's why the law says the governor may have shallow point, the governor's shallow point, the attorney general in case of special prosecutions. Some on the scale much. Good luck to those young men. You got the governor of the state actively campaigning against you. I think she wants to see an indictment. Think I need the potential jury pool might have heard that. She's doing everything within her power to poison the well. And if I were representing one of these guys, I would push for a change of venue right out of New York state. And by the way, now it looks like Jane Doe may have only moved to Manhattan for a very short amount of time. And there is speculation that she did that just so that she could potentially get involved in the New York, that she could file this civil case in the New York Supreme Court, which she, her lawyer, who in my opinion is a grifter, thought he'd do better in front of a jury in New York state supreme. And she apparently only lived there for a short time and then went back to her home state down South. So, you know, query what funny business is going on there as they have a massive money grab at hand here. And now, of course, it's being used for political reasons. The people on the Cornell campus, the activist class, remains absolutely freaking nuts. There was some sort of a protest there the other day on Tuesday of this week. Did you take a look at what's happening there? Oh, wait, what? So it's just the primal screams while holding up placards with the seven men's name on them and then fuck Donald Trump, because why not? Just like the comments, you know, the Shane Gillis made or somehow linked to Cornell. And now the Cornell situation is linked to Donald Trump. Maybe for that from quite a few. And why not? Because they were stealing their act from this woman who was famously featured as screaming or guts out back in 2017 when Trump became president. Here it is, it's not 28. Trump is now president at the United States president. Why are women so emotionally unregulated? Truly, like none of the women I know is like this. They're all like badass, smart, together, emotionally controlled people. Why is everyone featured on TV and in the news completely unmoored? It's embarrassing. Get it together people. And I'm just so sick and tired of pretending that women don't have equal power in society, that they don't have the power to stand up for or defend themselves or to get up out of a Cornell room and walk back to Tridelt. Guess what? She had that power. She didn't want to exercise it. She was enjoying her evening. Okay. So in any event, as I said, that case is done. Our bodies are choice. It's done. Okay. I'm going to wait on the other stuff. We can talk about Kelly Clarkson in that amazing video with Maureen tomorrow. But I would love to get to my next guest on the Tom Brady book that takes a deep dive into the relationship with his now ex-wife, Jezelle. And Lars Anderson has a lot of tea to spill. He'll do that next. Stand by. When six season hits, keeping my family protected is always a top priority. And you know how it is. One person comes home sick, everybody gets sick. A new biography is taking a deep dive into the life of the greatest quarterback of all time, and arguably the greatest football player. At least that's what they tell me. Tom Brady. From a sixth round draft pick to a seven time Super Bowl champion, Brady's journey is a story of his relentless drive to be the best. But what did he have to sacrifice to do it? In his new book Brady, an American story and the price of greatness, author Lars Anderson draws on more than 350 interviews to build a portrait of the man behind the legend and the personal sacrifices that shaped one of the most extraordinary careers in sports history. Lars Anderson joins me now. Lars, great to have you. Thank you so much for being here. Megan, so wonderful to be with you. Thank you for having me on. Oh, what a book. I mean, I will save the sports discussion for someone else to do, someone who knows what they're talking about. But I accept that he is the goat of football and possibly at least one of the top five candidates for the goat of sports. The problem is it did come at an enormous cost. And that cost was the woman he loved and being the kind of father he had in his own life. And according to your book, he knew it. He knew he was making the sacrifices and just was not built to be the kind of dad his dad was to him. Football has been his greatest love. So take us back to when he met Giselle because you point out in 2006, he was set up on a blind date with her. And at the time, she was way cooler than he was. And yeah, absolutely. At the time, she was the highest paid supermodel on the planet in history. She had been on over 1200 magazine covers. So by many metrics, you could argue that she's the most beautiful woman to ever walk the face of the planet. And I opened the book with the scene of Tom walking through the cobblestone streets of the West Village of Manhattan to a wine bar called Turks and Frogs. And that is where he is going to meet this woman named Giselle. And I wanted to lead the book with this particular scene because I was sort of asking myself what's the moment of greatest tension in Tom's life away from the game, meaning what are, what is a situation that creates all of these questions that are unanswered, right? And it keeps the reader like he is moving through the book because you want to have these questions resolved, you want to have the tension resolved. And it seemed to me that this would be the appropriate place to begin it. But then of course, you need to end it, right? And I think the most powerful scene of the entire book is Tom's final year. Tampa loses a game, it was a night game.
and afterward Tom is sitting in front of his locker in full uniform, head down for 15, 20 minutes like in a near catatonic state and people are coming up to him players, friends, coaches, like Tom, Tom, like what, Tom, what's going on? What's going on? And this is a picture of an utterly broken man and look, Megan, I've been through a divorce with small kids. I know the object, profound pain. I lost my dad many, many years ago and rest in peace, dad, but going through that divorce was far more difficult and painful because of my three young children involved, right? So I've been there. I know exactly what Tom was experiencing and at that moment in the locker room, never had Tom Brady looked less like Tom F.N. Brady than right then because it is a picture of a broken man and to me that is the price that he paid, the heavy tax that came along with becoming the winningest player in NFL history and it's so remarkable. The whole story is remarkable given where he came from, he couldn't even crack the starting lineup on his freshman high school team because he was just not very good back then but this freshman high school team ends up going 0 and 8, I think they scored maybe one touchdown and so he goes from that point to the winningest player in NFL history and there was a lot that he had to give up to become that version of Tom Brady. - Everything, I mean, to me this reads like a tragedy because you can't, I don't know, I don't think you can grow old with your football comforting you at night. I think the way this reads to me is he did love Jezel but he loved something more. This football career, the game of football, everything that it brought to him, he just loved it more and in the end it was really only about those final couple of years like if he could have just thrown in the towel two years prior to when he did, he might have been able to save his marriage and his family but he couldn't do it Lars, he wouldn't do it. - This raises a question that all of us who love sports, who have played sports have to grapple with because it ends for everybody. It ends for some people in junior high, other people in high school, other people for like me, division three soccer for others in professional sports. It is so hard to let go because your whole identity, especially when you get to Tom's level is wrapped around your achievements on the field and it's almost like the circadian rhythm of his life was tethered to the seasons of football and everything, his whole life revolved around it and there are scenes from the book when Jezel is talking about hey, it's New Year's Eve and let's make a fire tonight, it's a full moon, it's beautiful and let's write down a list of things that we want to let go of from the previous season and she is sort of waxing poetic about this and in the middle of it, they're driving away from Gillette Stadium and Tom's behind the wheel and in the middle of this, Tom just says aloud, I think our game starts at 1 o'clock next week. - Oh boy, oh boy. - And this is Jezel, that would drive any woman crazy but when you're Jezel and you could have virtually any man on earth who would pay you endless amounts of attention, it seems like it was very frustrating and I've reported to the audience myself 'cause I know a fair amount about these two from various connections and so on that I know for fact she was very unhappy about the fact that Tom didn't want to spend all the nights at home with her and the kids that he was either focused on football during the season but also did like to party during the off season and go out and sort of sow some oats and she was frustrated, she's more of a traditional Brazilian woman who wanted a husband who was there, who was fathering the children and he just, like we said, he loved something more. But I did think it was interesting in the book how you point out 'cause you forget, you just think of them as a power couple and then it didn't work out but she added a lot to his life. In the same way that Taylor made Travis Kelsey a lot cooler and a lot more famous, Jezel did that to Tom and improved his diet, his image, his dress, all of it. That image-making machine that she dominated as the most powerful supermodel in the world, she used that knowledge to help him. - Absolutely and it really, this ignites when Tom tears up his knee in the first game of, gosh, I don't remember, I think maybe the 2010 season is before they're married and Tom decides to get the surgery and rehab out in Los Angeles and Jezel on a previous, I think is a photo shoot had met this chef who delivered meals and, you know, really healthy stuff and that's when Tom's diet started to change and Tom had done some yoga before but Jezel really took that to another level and obviously the wardrobe, the hair, you know, it gets to the point in, that's a good picture there. I'm showing the picture of him in all levels at the fashion show, which does remind me to ask you about the fact that people thought Tom might be gay. - I've never seen that picture before, but- - Pretty dramatic. - You know, she changes his life in so many ways and eventually, you know, he's the only, the throne of power in the NFL for a long time was Tom Brady's locker, right? And he was the only one in the Patriot locker room who had a hair dryer and I write about how, you know, it was like a Neiman Marcus counter in there, just in terms of everything that he had and I'd love Julian Edelman when he first walks into the locker room, saying, or reflecting upon it, it says, Tom Brady smells like how a beautiful man would smell like and, you know, like he liked his cocoa butter and like he just, he was, and this all goes back to a guy who, you know, he, when he was at Michigan he struggled in the fine art of seduction and had trouble in the, in the, in the, in the dating department and- - Why do you write this for a brief period a few of Brady's teammates wondered about his sexuality? He was rarely seen with a girl. He chose the stadium lights over candlelight when Friday nights rolled around. So was, because I have to tell you, I think Tom Brady's had a fair amount of work done like cosmetic work and he, to me, appears to be feminizing himself. Like the decisions he's made have made him look more and more feminine than he did 10, 15 years ago, which has had some people wondering whether he's gay or something along those lines, but you report that he's not gay. - Yeah, this is real investigative journalism here, Megan and boots on the ground, reporting. Now I just talked to a guy who lived on Tom's freshman floor at Michigan in the dorm and, you know, there were questions kind of swirling around about this California kid who had arrived in Ann Arbor without a winter coat and had long hair and, you know, it was just like different, right? There's not a lot of California kids come into Ann Arbor and so there was some speculation about his sexuality and this, this student
I came forward and gave me the information that he can definitively say that the noises being produced in that room were the squeals of ecstasy from a woman, not a man. Okay, so yes, it does seem that feminizing though he may be, he is a straight man. The only reason, like Megan, I swear, I don't roll around in the tabloid gutter, I really didn't want to do that, but I think it is incumbent upon the biographer to address questions that readers may have, right, and certainly that is one of them and that is one of them and that's why I thought it was relevant, otherwise I never would have put that in there. We're speaking with Lars Anderson, the name of his book is Brady, an American story and the price of greatness available now. So you also report in the book that some around them, especially in Gisele's friend group, had questions early on about whether these two were compatible. Why? I think it goes back to what did they really have in common other than the fact that they were famous. You know, Gisele speaks six languages, traveled the world over, conquered the fashion world which is incredibly, what Gisele has accomplished, Megan, I would argue, is actually more improbable than what Tom has accomplished. And I think what is driving this, the news of this book all around the world is not Tom. It's Gisele, 100%, it's Gisele, it's why, you know, this has become a story. It's a story in India where I think she's more popular than Gandhi. Right? It's a huge story in Brazil where she's from, it's a story in Germany, many people in Germany have offered to translate the book for free because they want people to read it. And again, I don't think it's so much about Tom, it's Gisele and I didn't know what a force of nature in the fashion industry she was until I actually did some research and really got to know what her story is coming from a small village in Brazil and riding a bus 26 hours with other aspiring models and then she gets just picked out and they're all in sort of school uniforms and it was the first time she ever went to a McDonald's in her life and there just happened to be like a fashion talent scout there and he picked her out and everything just took off from there and she is so smart and she's so smart and she, I think it's different when you are married to a woman who is so international and so sophisticated and the two things that I question about Tom is he didn't learn Portuguese, her native tongue and I understand Portuguese is a hard language to learn, it really is. I speak a little bit of Spanish and I was at the 2016 Rio Olympics and when Gisele walked out for the opening ceremonies and this was way before I ever thought I would write anything on Tom Brady, this was not on my radar, this was not like a lifelong goal or anything but I remember being in Rio and when she walked out like grown men and women started crying at the sight of her like reacting in a way that Americans don't react to our celebrities because they are so proud of what she has gone out in the world and accomplished and yet Tom couldn't take the time to leave training camp for three days to go be there. What sacrifices did Tom make for Gisele? Right, that's the question, that's a great question and I thought it's a scoop in here that because they started dating in 2006, they got divorced in 2022, right? But you report that as early as 2014, 2015, she was thinking about a divorce, she was already getting fed up. She consulted a divorce lawyer and you know, when you fast forward to win Tom retired for the first time for 40 days, I think that was in what, 2021 and he then unretires and then Gisele is never seen at another Bucks home game in Tom's box or at an away game and you know, it's I think, I think that's just so tragic because he had from, you know, if your spouse is consulting a divorce lawyer back in 2014 or 15, you know, that's, there's a fire. There's the fire that needs to be put out, you know, and like it's all hands on deck. You have two kids. He's got a third child, a son with actress Bridget Moynihan who we knew and you also confirmed the book, Gisele was very good too and treated just like a child of her own when they were all together. But he didn't, he did not tend to the home business, even then and then, and then you report that after that comes the 2017 Super Bowl and she thought that would be the perfect time for him to retire. She thought, this is it. You know, he knows I want him to retire, he's won the Super Bowl again. Like this is it and tell us what happened. Yeah, I mean, look, when someone just wins a Super Bowl and five minutes after you're asking, hey, isn't this the perfect time to walk away? Probably not the greatest time to be asking that question because he is at the height of his powers and for an athlete, it is so difficult to walk away when you know that you can still do it at a really high level and you know, he ends up saying too bad, babe, I'm having too much fun and that was sort of the, one of the first things that like, like he'd already consulted a divorce attorney, yes, but that was particularly stinging. He had or she had she had, excuse me, she had right, that's what we were just discussing correct. He had a consulted one and but during that when Tom retired and then unretired, I think that she was not just angry. I think she was humiliated, humiliated and that's why you didn't see her again and ultimately she just had enough because she wants to live life with a partner who is experiencing everything with her, you know, and being just actively involved in the kids' lives and look, Tom is a very self-aware person and from what I gather, you know, Tom and Jacelle a little bit and he knew what was going on for the most part. But the people who I talk to, the people who I trust the most, they swear to me that Tom was absolutely blindsided by Jacelle saying, I can't do this anymore. Hmm. I mean, it sounds like he was distracted, you know, that he was, he was focused on something else and I'm sure he suffered from something that she probably suffered from, which is, no one's leaving me. I'm Tom Brady and I, or I'm Jacelle, like, I'm sure they were both so flabbergasted that they couldn't get the other one to do what they wanted them to do, because this wouldn't have been their normal experience growing up, certainly not looking like Jacelle does. Or having the talent that Tom Brady has and he learned the hard way, she was willing to walk away and she did have other options. And she found another man pretty quickly, which we'll get to in one second. But you reported that in 2018, so he wouldn't retire and that he had told her early on, he'd play for 10 years and then retire. And now we're past that, but he's not giving up.
it up. And she's frustrated. She's got two young kids she wants to raise. And by the way, I do find it very interesting that her bet was correct. Even when he did retire, he didn't retire. He stayed in football. He's still on the road all the time. Like her bet that he's never going to give this up. There's not, it's not almost over. And then he's going to come back to me. No, he's going to take a $400 million jail of Fox. And he's going to travel the world now talking about football. But in any event in 2018, she hand wrote him a letter. And you've got the intimate details of the letter. What happened to it? Where it wound up? What, what, what was in it? So tell us about that letter. Yeah. It's a very heartfelt handwritten letter. And as a writer myself, I love handwritten letters. But she just laid out that, hey, this isn't working for me. We need to really address things in a deep way. There needs to be more sharing of responsibilities. I mean, even the celebrities like Tom and Jacelle, somebody's got to take the garbage out, right? Somebody's got to do the dishes. Somebody's got to feed the kids. Somebody's got to put the kids to bed. Sure, they have an army of staff to support them. But you know what? It's mom and dad that matter. And the thing about Tom, he nothing can make him more emotional when you ask him to compare himself to his own dad. Because again, Tom's a server where he's a self-aware dude. And he knew that he was nowhere near the present father that his own dad was. And that, again, will get the tears falling faster than anything for Tom. But there's this other overwhelming desire that consumed it, subsumed it. And that was to be the best he can possibly be at his chosen profession. And Megan, it raises an interesting question for someone like yourself. What have you been willing to sacrifice in your life to get to where you are? I'm sure you've had to make many difficult decisions over the years because you don't snap your fingers and just become Megan Kelly. You have to work your ass off for it. And that requires time, effort and just an intense amount of ambition, right? Which we both have. And I think that's what kind of makes this story. It doesn't seem like it's a universal story because we are talking about two people who are almost viewed as like royalty in the United States. But yet, there are these fundamental questions that we all can ask ourselves that both Giselle and Tom had to grapple with. I think about it because, sure, that I definitely made some sacrifices along the way. But the reason I left Fox News, the principal reason I left Fox News was because I was missing too much of my kid's childhood. And they were young. They were seven, five, and three. And I hadn't missed the whole thing. And I didn't want to miss the whole thing. And so I went a different way than Tom Brady. I actually had, you know, I was at the top of my profession. I was definitely at the top of the news industry and I was making a lot of money. And I had a similar choice in front of me. I wasn't being presented with a, you know, stay with me or give it up, ultimatum by my husband. But I did have a choice of whether I should stay at the top of this industry or take a step down. Was that a difficult choice? Very difficult. Very difficult because I loved my job and I thought I was great at it. And I was making tons of money and I was at the apex of my career. But it wasn't worth it. And I just, I knew missing so much of my kid's childhood, I genuinely thought was giving me cancer. Like I thought if I continue to miss this and have this level of heartache over missing it for another three, four years, I'm going to get cancer. That's really truly what I believed. I'm like, there's no amount of money that's worth this. There's no amount of whatever fame accolades. It doesn't matter to me. It's the calling card of those three kids is too irresistible to put down for another three years. So I did leave. And there's been no regrets. I didn't go to the right place. But I wound up figuring it out. And I think Tom, you know, if, if he had left without those last two years, I think he probably could have saved his family. Maybe I don't know. Maybe not. Maybe I'm arguing against the case I just made because what did he do? He just signed up to go work for Fox, travel the world following the football teams every Sunday and Monday and Thursday. He's still out there doing it. But I guess he just have to love somebody else more than you love yourself and your enjoyment of your chosen career. And the truth is he didn't. You know, when I covered the Rio Olympics, right, 2016, when I got back from that, that is when I quit doing, like, magazine work all together, because I was away from my children who are very young. Unfortunately, for me, it's not a great ending. We ended up getting a divorce. But this is an important point. I think every writer brings their own experiences and perspective to every piece they write, even narrative, nonfiction. And so when I was writing about Tom at the very end there, and about how he had just been absolutely reduced to a broken man, like, never less, look less like Tom F and Brady in his life than after one particular game where it just sits in front of his locker for 15 minutes and is in a near catatonic state. And every, every guy in the locker room is coming up to Tom. Hey, man, it's okay. It's okay. It's just a game. But they didn't realize that the next morning, the divorce was going to be announced. But at that moment, of just being reduced, and I think I wrote it as like a man of like bone and sorrow. Tom Brady, right, the great Tom Brady is reduced to that. And to me, that sort of goes full circle back to really what the price of greatness was for Tom. And the decisions he made. And when I talked to guys like Bruce Ariens, who was the head coach of the Buccaneers and that final year, he was just a consultant, but he was around. And Bruce doesn't even like to remember those conversations he had with Tom and how Tom looked and just the profound sadness in his comportment. And just, you know, he just wasn't the same. It's got to be sickening. It's got to be sickening because it doesn't sound like he fell out of love with her. It's, you know, you write that she got to the point where she just one day wasn't willing to keep working. And like she just realized and she said to him, we're not compatible. And that was it. He lost what I think was the love of his life, short of one thing, which was football. And he knew when they were breaking up that soon, she'd probably be in the arms of another man. I don't think he knew she would be impregnated by him and have another baby with him. But this is when he posted this Instagram post when she got pregnant with her new boyfriend's baby and that that said true love of him. So it's so fascinating. How celebrities communicate over social media through these cryptic messages, right? But if you. That one wasn't too cryptic. Yeah. Well, yeah. Yeah. And if you, if you study them, the way I have and, and others, you know, Jacelle consistently said, hey, I'm not your true love, true love is football for you. And so, you know, when she, when she marries her, her, I don't know what you just do. Exactly. You just do instructor. Yes. Thank you. You know, Tom puts that post up of him. If you just look at that picture, it's absolutely flawless technique. And, you know, the beautiful California sun going down in the backroom in the in the background. And yeah, that was that was a direct shot at Jacelle, no question. 100%. All right. There's more because Lars has got thoughts on the one big mistake. Tom Brady made in the wake of the breakup. We'll pick it up there when we come back right after this break by the book Brady, an American story and the price of greatness. So I just want to spend some time on what happened when she finally said we are not compatible. It was over. There was no salvaging it after that. And surely thereafter she was romantically linked to the man who is now her husband, Joaquim Valente, who was her jujitsu instructor. And that had a lot of people asking whether that relationship began prior to the end of her marriage with Tom. And frankly, whether Tom had any relationships during the course of their marriage, what can you report on that? Oh, Megan, you're putting me on the spot here, aren't you? No wonder you've gotten where you are. Let's see. There was no – so I always follow the reporting, right? And there was no reporting to suggest to me that Tom was having anything going on outside of the marriage. And I know others have suggested that and my question to them would be, who's your source? And if you're not willing to name the source, then it's sort of worthless to me for fear of lawsuit, right? Because that's the one thing that a celebrity can get you on. Is are these making these claims that just are factually not supported? Now, I did have someone who I really trusted who suggested very strongly that there was a spiritual advisor to Giselle, who was sort of whispering in to Tom's ear, excuse me, Giselle's ear, that she may not be compatible with Tom. And you know, Giselle, and this person suggested too, that Giselle was very much into astrology. And so I just, you know, took it on my own, on my own volition, looked up what the astrological chart would have said that month. And if I remember correctly, it was that her sign and Tom's sign were absolutely not compatible for that in that particular time. And look, it was, the whole paragraph I think was written in parentheses because I don't know what to make of this, but I can tell you that this is the most unimpeachable source in the entire book. In fact, this person said that they would put their name behind this, but sometimes, you know, you can criticize me if you want, but sometimes as a, as a writer, you kind of have to protect sources from themselves. And I didn't want this person to be subjected to what I knew would happen if, if they were correct. The person who told you about the cosmic advisor? Exactly. Yes. Here's, well, I have the paragraph in front of me. This is what you wrote. For the cosmic record, you write, Jezele's star sign is cancer, Brady's is Leo. In August, 2022, the month Brady left training camp, the cancer zodiac chart showcased Venus sitting across the sky from Pluto, according to the cancer horoscope in cosmopolitan, a magazine whose cover Jezele has graced multiple times. This signaled a call to action, quote, honest, raw conversations will be necessary as power struggles and hidden agendas are exposed. This is your opportunity to transform the dynamics in your closest ties. And indeed, the dynamics were changed as she decided, finally, we're just not, we're not compatible. And it was not that long after that that she was with the Jiu-Jitsu instructor romantically. And very shortly thereafter, she got pregnant by him and had his baby and then ultimately married him. I think in that order, I don't think it went marriage and then baby, but whatever with these celebrities, they always do it differently. So I did think of Tom Brady when this happened, though, because we're showing some of the pictures of her and Joaquim on the beach. They're constantly in Costa Rica with this beautiful baby boy they had together. And they look so happy. He's a good looking guy. It's like both of these two are just doomed to a lifetime of finding partners that in some ways are never going to measure up to the spouse that they used to have just given the electricity of the personality and the looks and the success of that, the two in the Jezele Tom marriage. But people loved this. They loved watching Jezele on the beach with another man because they, let's face it, Tom Brady is loathed by a lot of people. Number one, because not everybody likes the patriots and that's what he's associated with most. Number two, because he has it all. And a lot of people just resent that, this period, that's just for that reason alone. So they enjoyed, I think, watching Jezele frolic on the beach with another man and have his baby. And then came the decision you say was truly Tom Brady's biggest mistake. Tell us what that was. Yeah, I think Tom after retirement, and this is important too, Tom would not have retired if Jezele hadn't divorced him. I'm convinced of that, I've heard from many people because the reason Tom retired was because of the shifting plate tectonics of his personal life. He didn't know what it was going to look like with custody. And he knew he needed to be there as much as he possibly could for his kids. So he ended up walking away and there are so many what ifs from the Buccaneers staff because in his last year in the league, I believe Tom led the NFL in passing yards. He was still playing at a really high level. And they thought that he could have gotten number eight. So anyway, he ends up retiring and then decides to have this Netflix roast. So as we all know, it turned in just to an epic disaster. So you can look at this sort of I think one or two ways either Tom was naive to what was going to transpire during that roast. However, Tom is one of the smartest people I've ever studied in my life. Or you could say that he was letting others do his dirty work, which I think probably is. Because Giselle. Giselle got destroyed of Giselle got just we have some of that in ours. We put together just a bit of a sound, but let's play it for the audience then you can take it on the back end. Giselle said you retire or are done when you got a chance to go eight and nine and all it will call you as your wife and your kids. You got to do what the fuck you got to do. Do you understand me? A man who has so many rings, he could melt them down and forge a sword to go out a quest to get Giselle back from that Giselle teacher. Tom Brady, five times Super Bowl MVP, most career wins, most career touchdowns. You have seven rings. Well, eight now that Giselle gave her back, but sorry, Tom. The only thing dumber than you saying yes to this rose was when you said, "Hey babe, you should try to do Giselle." I think that was, that's kind of sucks.
So he's laughing, but there was real fallout. I can't, it is so out of character of him. Yes, massive fallout, massive fallout. The next morning his children call him and say, "Dad, why did you let all of these people on national television say such mean things about mom?" Tough question to answer. Tough question to answer. And I think he was blinded by anger and just did not make a good decision. And he has subsequently called it, you know, the worst decision or one of the worst decisions of his life, because he just didn't think about the consequences of all this on his kids. And that's rare for him. I mean, I truly believe he's a good father and he has tried his best under the circumstances. I do too. I've seen him quite a bit with his kids and he seems very loving and protective and engaged. Is this an East Hampton thing? Is that where you saw Tom? I'm curious. No, no, shall remain unknown, but I'm afraid a bit with them. I can say he's definitely a loving father. I mean, I guess not a present one, but a loving father for sure and they seem to adore him too. And so it's, but it's, you know, you can't get back those years, as you know, Alaris. It's like, I bet you anything those kids love having Tom Brady as a dad. You're like, your dad's Tom Brady, I mean, instant cachet, right? It's like, whoa, holy cow, but I'd make an equal bet that if you said, what would you like to have this guy who didn't have all these accomplishments as your dad? And he was just there. He was there for all the holidays and the school plays and, you know, curriculum nights. They'd say, yes, I'd prefer that. My kid wants their, their parent to be present, especially if it's a good guy, you know, if it's not a prick and he seems like a good guy. So it's just, that's going to be his burden to bear. Jacelle, she, she went on ABC after all this. This is March of 2024 and did speak to the relationship a bit. Here's not 52. You said it was the, I think, the phrase you use a death of a dream? Yeah. How are you? Well, when you say, sorry, guys, I didn't know, can I have a little moment? Sorry. But let me just breathe. Okay. It's definitely a time of, you know, a transition that had to take place and it's not something that you, you, I don't think you, you wish for that, you know, but I think sometimes in life things happen. I feel so blessed because like I wouldn't change anything in my life. I have, you know, I had incredible experiences. I learned so much. I have my children, which are the biggest blessings in my life. And now I get to, to create is a new season is a new chapter in my life. And I get to learn new things and I get to, to, to walk my path in a different way, you know? And I, and I'm grateful for all of it. I'm grateful for every lesson. Hmm. She's totally charming and I believe her. She seems sincere. That was heartbreaking. Yep. You can feel her loss. As I said, I've been through it and it's horrible and Megan, I did everything in my power in this book, not to do any more damage, especially to those kids, but also I didn't want to cause any more grief to Tom and Jezele. That is just not the kind of person I am, but to understand again, like what Tom was willing to sacrifice, you have to know what the consequences are, right? I mean, the story has to have an end and then fortunately, this story does not end well. But I also think, and it's really, it's a weird thing. You write such a massive book and you know, I devoted so much time to this thing. When you write about someone who's still alive and who's still like, Tom, in a lot of ways, his life is just beginning, you know, and I think that that he will go on to do great things probably with the Las Vegas Raiders, that's my conjecture. Is that the team he owns? Yeah. Part owner. Yes. Okay. Yeah. And I think he'll become more and more, have an active role there. That's his speculation, not reported. But just to see that clip from Jezele, and I got to tell you, I've never seen it, I've never seen that. And that, that, that hit me. Yeah. I know. It's sad. I mean, they say the definition of tragedy is the difference between what is and what might have been, and you could, you could feel her feeling that in that exchange just from the question. My, my dad who is a lawyer, his, his favorite poem was of all words of tongue or pen, the saddest of all, or what might have been, and that is sort of exactly, I think, what we just saw. And it's like she's moved on, she's got a new husband, she's got a new family. I mean, she's got her kids obviously, but she's got a new son, and so it's, you know, you don't have hope that, oh, maybe they'll wind up back together, I don't have hope for that at all. I think she's with the man she wants to be with, and he, he's just now a man about town, which to me is also sad, Lars. I mean, I, you know, he's been linked to Alex Earl, his influencer, who's, whatever, you know, it's like, okay, I just, there's, it's going to be very tough to replace a woman like that. And I'm not referring to her modeling skill, you know, but I love Brazilians. I just think they are the warmest, most lovely people. We, we have somebody who's so dear to us who's Brazilians, we've got to know a few Brazilians through her. And just, just the warmth and like the mother earth quality that Jezele has about her, in addition to all that other stuff that everybody else sees, just on the pages of the magazines and so on. And to know that she's somebody else is now and that you blew it. I mean, I just feel like Tom Brady, there's a chance he'll be single forever because I don't, I'm not sure she's replaceable. And I, I do want to raise this really quick about the roast, another victim of this whole thing was Joaquin, who is a private person. And he got dragged through the mud and, and still to this day because of that damn roast, he is viewed as a villain by far too many people, you know, he, like he stole her. Yeah. And he did not ask to be put in this situation, right? He's not a public figure and I think that was another level of the unfairness of the roast. What do you think, what do you think about the Tom Brady romantic future? I mean, he certainly doesn't have a shortage of options. But what do you think, do you think he'll get married again and find true love again? Well, if I wasn't currently engaged, I think I would, I wouldn't mind being in Tom Brady's position. Right. I think you'll, I think you'll do just five. I think you speak for every red blooded man on earth. Yes, who realize he, he'll have plenty of options, but, you know, he's, he's coming off quite a high. I mean, I'm not sure how you replaced, yeah, exactly. No, like how, imagine being the next woman in his life, right, he goes from, you're always going to be compared to Jezelle and that is a losing proposition, you know, it's, oh, my God. He needs to go like a totally different way that I, I, he should not be, I don't think he's settling down with Alex Earl, but he should be picking somebody, I think completely different somebody. I don't know, brilliant and somebody who's like very accomplished of, I don't know, who would be off the top of your head, who would be off the top of your head, who would be somebody? I don't know, not somebody famous, somebody like a, a really smart doctor or someone who's been like fighting to help kids get adopted, you know, like somebody who's got real meaning in her life, that is not related to the cleag lights and who's really not that impressed by him, who like would like to get to know him as a human as opposed to as just this football machine and who can bring something to him.
That's deep and meaningful and profound and insightful and not just like silicone body parts. That's I don't think that's gonna do it I think you need something more profound after if we have just a second There is a scene in the book where Tom and Jacelle invite Peyton Manning and his wife Ashley to their place in Brentwood and Ashley is the absolute opposite of Jacelle in that she avoids media at all costs and I wrote a book on the Manning family called the Manning's and so I dug into this quite deep as well and Ashley just it in you know her and Peyton met in college They went to different schools to Virginia He was Tennessee obviously But she has avoided the limelight she doesn't do interviews and Their marriage seems to work very very well and so maybe Tom should look at what is buddy Peyton Manning And did with his life and and yeah, just do something that's the absolute opposite I would be or Matt Damon Matt Damon Mary to school teacher Somebody who's stunning and smart and loves him like I just think maybe somebody out of the limelight But also but like who has her own independent thing going on You know, I don't think the answer is to have somebody who's just stars in the eyes over Tom Brady I think it's got to be somebody who's got profound meaning in her life Separate and apart from him who's not looking to him here's make a life for another question that you're uniquely equipped to answer Once you become famous and you feel if you feel that fame slipping away What will you do to hang on to that fame and I feel like that is part of the reason why Tom agreed to do the roast and why he is like on these on this stage with WWE people and punching them in the face. It's like what the hell are you doing that's bad That is bad. He shouldn't be doing that. That's that's so beneath him like you say in a way He's you know, we don't like royalty here in America, but he's kind of American royalty and it's beneath him and yeah I do think you're right that there's like a fear that the accolades and the Attention are gonna start to fade and they will fade eventually look at when we were kids You know, I think you're probably around my age Joe Montana was American royalty You know, I mean even I knew who that was the San Francisco 49ers quarterback Even though I wasn't a boy and I wasn't into football But now he's an older man and he comes out every once in a while on the NFL You know, specials and you're like, oh cool Joe Montana, but that's it and Eventually and look there's lots of goats out there whether it's Lance Armstrong or Wayne Gretzky or Michael Jordan who have this revered place, you know as Like we know you're the goat don't get me started on Lance Armstrong They were all cheating, but anyway That they have this revered status, but they're You can't hold on to the apex. You can't it's just the nature of the business that you're not gonna stay there You have to move to like Emeritus status, which isn't as great, but it's also something and you have to start filling your life with something else like Books or your kids if you've put the time in they and they want to be with you or travel or A foundation, you know, like that was one of the great things Agacy did when he left tennis as he created this school in his foundation and he nurtured that for years and years With something with meaning that doesn't revolve around seeing your face in a magazine You know, which is such empty calories and And you're raising a good point too, which is the loss of the sport itself is gonna be tough enough to get over You know because for somebody like Tom Brady. It's not just the loss of your fame You know, you've lost the ability to play the game that you to be with your true love as his Instagram post put it So that requires a period of mourning and separation and I actually have wondered for a long time Lars whether being a sideline commentator is the move because I mean, he's near the game. He loves and he's still kind of in the industry But like he's kind of doing what I do now and I just feel like that He can he can do better and like and I'd hate to be what what I will never do if this doesn't work out Eventually is to go be like a media critic, you know like be Truly on the sidelines of the industry that I built a name for myself and just like yapping about the others who are Still doing it. I don't to me. There's something There's a reason Michael Jordan chose not to do that Yeah, I mean there comes a time I think to gracefully Step aside and I like what you say about the emeritus role After hearing your very articulate response there. I wish I would have interviewed you for the book And you could have really provided some insight into all of this I would love to have an off the record conversation with you about what you know, but um, you know The book didn't need me. It's perfect just as it is. It's so well done. It's thoughtful What's great about it too is and I think the audience is getting that from our interview is that it was written with heart It's got obviously juicy details and a lot about time and a lot about football So if you love football you should listen to your Lars's other interviews too because it does Tom Brady does have a lot to talk about when it comes uh, um, there's a lot to talk about him on football But it's got heart and I accept your resolution not to try to hurt them and I think you've done that you've you've told us a lot about To the most famous people in the world and you've done it In a classy way, um, I don't know if I didn't I was going to say gently. I'm not sure that's the word But in a classy respectful way, so congrats That means more to me than anything seriously Just do know well well done. I look forward to the next one. I want to read the manning book now Yeah, hey, uh, I'm working in my next book is with uh author named arman katayan who uh, co-wrote the best seller on tiger woods and we are doing a Incredibly deep dive into the state of youth sports in the United States and How it is so messed up And we're going to try to offer prescriptive measures on how to fix Everything that is wrong with it and again, I got 11 year old son nine year old twin girls. FAQs
The federal investigation is examining whether Ilhan Omar or her deceased father lied about her age when she obtained U.S. citizenship in 2000. Authorities are probing whether she was actually 18, not 17, as required for citizenship through her father’s naturalization. There are also concerns about whether her father committed fraud by falsely claiming to be a teacher, as he was a military officer with a documented history of brutal actions in Somalia.
Multiple family members, including her sister Sarah Nure, have received subpoenas as part of the investigation into potential immigration fraud and financial misconduct. The subpoenas are linked to questions about Omar’s family’s involvement in financial activities and possible ties to alleged fraud in the Somali community, including business operations at the same address as individuals who have pleaded guilty to wire fraud.
Her financial disclosures show a dramatic increase in income—from $51,000 to $6 million in one year—followed by a sharp drop to zero. This sudden spike has raised concerns, especially given the lack of explanation, and has led to scrutiny over whether her wealth is legitimate or tied to fraudulent business activities.
Yes, her sister Sarah Nure incorporated a company, Grit Partners, using the same home address as Masha Ahmed Ali and his wife, Mr. Ahmed Afra, who live in a home occupied by individuals involved in a 2022 wire fraud case. The address is also linked to a business where a woman, Hannah Marrakeen, pleaded guilty to fraud and falsely claimed to be feeding 4,000 children daily.
Both the U.S. Attorney’s office in Minneapolis and the one in Washington, D.C., are involved in investigating potential fraud in Ilhan Omar’s immigration and financial records. The investigation is multi-pronged, with Minnesota officials probing the origin of the fraud and federal prosecutors reviewing the citizenship claims and financial disclosures.
The federal authorities have seized Ilhan Omar’s passport, phone, and laptop, suggesting they are using these items to verify her birth date and immigration history. This is particularly relevant because inconsistencies in her age at naturalization could indicate possible immigration fraud.
