I don't want to follow someone else and like have regrets about it. But I think that's kind of the most open and shut that like they're in a fine, like not girlfriend, boyfriend, committed in that way, please. But the Melanie and Kinsey, I think, is where we disagreed the most. Probably. - Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, so tell me how you felt about the Melanie Kinsey thing. - I felt like, okay, yes, Kinsey, how to different understanding of their relationship. Kinsey, I think, generally thought they were friends, like close friends, close when they were. I don't think Kinsey realized how Melanie felt, not betrayed, but like sort of abandoned, in that relationship and how Melanie had maybe quickly adjusted the fact that, like they're not super close, and Kenzie thought that they were still were, which is just like a, I think complete honest misunderstanding. However, Melanie, I'm like, there's something about the way that she is like, well, I felt this way, and I felt this way, and you did this and you do it, but it's okay, but it's small, but it's not the big of a deal. Like, I'm over it, like, this is important, whatever. And a way that's like, you're just sort of, you're deciding to be over this, and Kenzie might not be, and you need to like, give her some time and space. - Yeah. - 'Cause I do think genuinely, it isn't my center of standing, Kenzie was on a very good friend to her. Melanie wasn't really her friend, which shows, but also the quickness with which Melanie is like, I decided like this is on an issue for me. Like, we need to get over it. It's like, no, Kenzie is like, I think genuinely upset. - Well, I don't feel like she was rushing her to get over, I think like, I think it did come off as a little bit belittling to be like, it's not that big of a deal. When it's like, it can totally be a bigger, more, a bigger issue for Kenzie. And I think for Kenzie, she clearly, so clearly, is maybe probably less skilled in conflict resolution than maybe, I'm not saying Melanie's a pro at it, but I do think that Kenzie, very clearly, I struggle with particularly white girls that have decided they're close to you without earning the closest, and I really don't like that. And so I think that's why I felt like, a little bit more on Melanie's side about it, because saying your best friends doesn't mean your best friends, you have to keep doing the work of being friends. - Right. - And so I didn't feel like she was entitled to that statement, but I do agree with you being like, you don't get to decide what's bigger, it's more for people, but you can totally stand in your feelings about being like, you weren't a good friend to me. - Yeah, no, and that was really valid. But I also think that that sort of dovetails into the Kenzie, I'm sorry, the Melanie soul conversation, which I'm like, okay, listen, soul is an agent of change, all right? She's gonna change the conversation one way, she's gonna change the temperature of the room one way or another. And I am mama happy, mama likey. But when it went to that flashback or like that showing that scene of them in whatever Melanie had pulled soul for a chat, and she was like, yes, I really like sincere, yes, I'm really sad. I understand now that it was like, you know, two people in this conversation. But her being like, okay, you are homeless, like if you'll never be homeless again if you're my friend, and I know Melanie had that line, like, you never had a friend like me. - Wait, she said you would never be homeless again if you're my friend. - Yeah, didn't think me two seconds ago. - Exactly. - I'm not letting just anybody in my home. - Well, no, I do. famously I just, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no Well, girl, you know that's not true. - Well, is that what's crazy to me only because literally not even a minute before, she was like, listen, I really, and I was on her team when she was like, I still have feelings for you. And for adults in the room, it's okay to feel that. If you're on threads and you're 19 years old. - But they aren't as so young. When Caleb was like, you know, I'm 21. Even if you just stop talking shit about me or you just stop being mean to me. It's not like a friendship was being built any further past that, but. But then of course, you know, on the receiving end of that is Seoul, who's like, who kept saying, well, everyone, like the vibes are always weird. Like, no one was welcome, maybe blah, blah, blah. And when I watched it back, but it's like, okay, were you feeling that in the moment or do you feel it when you watched it back? - Right, right. - 'Cause you're like assigning blame based on something you saw only after the fact. So what explains the behavior in the village? Like you actually, no one helped you pack maybe for a reason. - But also, I'm sorry, there's just like, nothing nastier to me. When there's a woman who only comes for other women and doesn't say shit about the other men. - Well, that's, again, what you're already is the MVP of the entire season because she's like, what are you talking about? Who put the pies in your face, but the men? Why are you coming for all the girls about this? And I don't like, I think Hoda did a lot of this last season. They're like, well, it was a click and I was outside of it. No, it's just cold like some people are closer friends, and that's totally normal and fine. - That's loud, yeah, you don't have to be besties of either of them. And I guess I could probably be really intimidating to come in as a bar for you. - Yeah, and not just come into this base and see this closeness that's clearly there. And I think that was my favorite part of the season was how very obvious and tangible their core for friendship was. And I could see it being intimidating, coming into it. I could see it being intimidating, knowing about it, and then trying to enter it and feeling even more scared. But also, that's not their problem to fix. It's not friendship island. - Yeah. - And I heard my friends, but it's not. They're here to dry hump, so I don't know. I feel like Trinity was one of the only people who said again and again, I'm allowed to feel how I want to feel. - Yeah, and I think, I mean, even it made sense to me when she was like, listen, I like you, I just don't care for you. - Right. - As in like, I don't need to invest in your feelings, but I'm fine with who you are. - Right. - And like, you take them states, like I'm not gonna complain about it, and that is a very different thing. Andy, I think tried to be like, how does that make sense? And I was like, no, I think it makes perfect sense. - Yeah. - She doesn't need to like bend over backwards to make a relationship that already didn't exist, like work. - Yeah, I think that a lot of this, I mean, I know that KC drama has really taken off online, but it seemed like a lot of this was just like KC image management, where he is bringing it back to just the re-coupling. And it's like, well, there were many more days on that island, where your behavior was crazy, where you were in the right, where you were in the wrong, where they came at you, very harsh, whatever, and you're only seeing it through this one very narrow perspective, which is, you know, a lot of people's like lowest and most like critical harsh moment. - Yeah. - And if we can widen the scope of how we see you, you should be able to do the same for the one on the island. - Yeah. - And again, only critical of the women. - And one more time shout out again to Corbin being like, yeah, we did not fuck with that behavior and we told him, so he was acting funny. And I think there are other couples who that's like not the same for.
