Donald Trump is facing severe backlash online right now after he decided to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America and to be clear, this backlash is not just coming from Democrats like me and presumably you at home, but also Trump supporters. They're wondering why the president of the United States is focused on renaming lakes and drawing on a map with a sharpie and not focusing on the big issues like prices, the war in the Middle East, the Epstein files and more and of course this is not legally binding, no other country in the world is going to refer to it as Lake America. There's probably tens of people in the United States who are now going to abide by this name change. But for Donald Trump, this did not go to plan. So I want to show you the reaction from people across the political spectrum. Trump fans, Democrats, everybody is kind of pissed off at Trump over this and we have a lot to go over. Please make sure to subscribe down below, drop a like on the video, comment, let me know what you think about this whole Lake America fiasco. I just think it's so pathetic. And if somebody refers to it as Lake America, I'm automatically going to disregard their opinion. You can let me know if I'm being too harsh, but I don't think so. I want to look at TikTok briefly. This is where Donald Trump uploaded the video. He also posted it on Instagram, which we're going to take a look at just in just a moment. But look at some of these comments under Donald Trump's video. He thought this was going to go over so well, but the internet reacted. Take a look at this, 84,000 likes on the top comment, Lake the Epstein files, which honestly, I'm kind of surprised that Donald Trump didn't take the opportunity to honor his best friend and call it Lake Epstein, which really wouldn't surprise me at all. But a good comment there, 84,000 likes. How about this one? Anything but lowering gas prices, 29,000 likes. And then you do actually have a Trump supporter in there saying he's a professional troll. And I love it. And I actually think that comment is really pathetic because if your bar for a president is if he trolls people, then the bar is really low. And you're not really holding a standard for your elected officials. I think it's quite sad. What about this person saying, can we name the Epstein files to Trump files? Or this one saying, we will always call it Lake Ontario. When are you naming the son to the son of America, which also wouldn't surprise me if Donald Trump did that? Then you have some bots in here very clearly who are saying, you know, Donald Trump is such a great guy. He's trolling liberals, you know, all that stuff. We see it every Trump video. What about this person, 62,000 likes, who hates this man, 62,000 people saying, yes, here's a comedy comment saying he is the best president like if I'm wrong and 19,000 people liked it, which is great. This person saying, I voted for this. Someone please slap me, which I think might be my favorite comment on this video so far. The economy is sinking and he's worrying about an effing lake. How about Anthony saying, how about getting something meaningful done? Does this lower gas prices? This is embarrassing. This guy is going insane in Canada. We should rename it Lake, release the Epstein files. These comments go on forever. There are tens of thousands of people saying, what are you doing? This is ridiculous because it is because normal people are looking at this. Normal people who just want to put food on their table or roof over their head and take care of their family, they're looking at this like, what the hell are you doing? I mean, this is the same guy, by the way, who said his only priority would be lowering prices. He said he'd be working 24/7, but he's not. He's busy filming tick-tock videos in the Oval Office and drawing on Mapsley Sharpies. It's absurd. What about Instagram? He posted this video on multiple platforms. He really wanted to advertise it. He thought it reflected him well. Let's take a look at it there. Remember, this is Trump's own comment section. Presumably, a lot of these people are people who follow Trump and they're not too happy. What about Justin saying, I guess we get to rename Lake Michigan, then you butter-tart? Not exactly sure what butter-tart means, but it sounds insulting for Trump, so I'm okay with it. This person saying this was funny when fuel was $2 and food was affordable. I don't think this has ever been funny, but that sounds like a Trump supporter sounding kind of over it. Kind of like, hey, you got to move on. I thought this comment was good too. I'm a Trump supporter, but this is too much an uncalled for. Also, why not rename the Rio Grande River to America River if it's also flowing through American soil? Mr. President, there are more urgent things to do other than renaming rivers or gulfs. Even changing the name to this lake is also costing U.S. taxpayers money due to all the admin tasks for this, which is actually a good point. I don't say that often about a self-proclaimed Trump supporter, but this is a good point. I mean, think about how much money this costs to do, getting all the agencies to put this executive order together, change all of our maps in the government system. It costs a lot. What happened to Doge? What happened to cutting wasteful spending? Oh, that's right. Wasteful spending is only spending that actually helps people. So when we have Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security getting cut by this administration, a trillion dollars over 10 years, kicking tens of millions of people off of their health insurance, that's a worthy Doge cut. But when we're renaming rivers and gulfs, apparently that's well within the budget. How about this one? If he's so intelligent, why did he cross that lake and then rewrite it, which is actually a good point? I didn't notice that the first time. I could call it Lake Netanyahu, since we're owned by Israel, that person says, can Lake America lower the gas prices and cost of everything that went up with it? Thanks. What a well constructed and totally coherent sentence from the president of the United States, actually quoting him in this video. And he said word for word. So now we have a lake. And now we have a gulf, because if we have the gulf of America, now we have Lake America without the of. He's always been a man with words, hasn't he? Not good words, not proper syntax, just words, that's it. What about this one? Mark Carney, who of course is not a Trump supporter, not a Republican by any stretch of the imagination, but I thought his response was great as well. He said, the name Lake Ontario comes from the when dot word, and I'm not going to try to pronounce this. I don't want to butcher it. I want to be respectful, which appropriately means the lake is beautiful. The lake is big. The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the confederation of Canada and the declaration of independence of the United States of America. We know that America is changing. They're trading relationships, they're foreign policies or national monuments. Canadians also know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario, then now and always. I love the jabs at Donald Trump, especially in this paragraph as well. What about a Fox host? They Fox News host had an interesting reason for opposing the name, but he still opposes it. Check this out. A Fox News host wasn't on board with Donald Trump's attempts to rename the lake on the five trade gaudy discussed the president's latest barb at Canada following the breakdown of trade talks last week. The president's executive order signed apparently because Canada has been ripping us off requires the interior department to update the geographic name's information system so that the federal government uses Trump's made up name from now on. Trump who pulled a similar move with the Gulf of Mexico on his first day back in office may want to rethink the name change. Gaudy suggested because it alters an acronym school children used to memorize the great lakes, which stands for here on Ontario, Michigan, Erie and Superior, and he said, quote, here's what troubles me. So it took me 12 years to remember that acronym, Gaudy, a lawyer began the O changes to A that's close to Hamas. That's what bothers me about changing the name from Ontario to America is how close that acronym is to Hamas. It's going to confuse a lot of kids. Okay. All right. You know, look, if you're on board with being opposed to the name, that's fine. I don't know how you got there, but sure, it looked, as I said, if you're an R tent of opposing the name change, that's fine. I think there are probably bigger reasons to be opposed to the name as opposed to the acronyms may be sounding like something else. But you know, beggars can't be choosers. Isn't that right? What about Matt Walsh? The conservative commentator, even he, objecting Donald Trump's or objecting to Donald Trump's decision saying, this will be an unpopular opinion on the right, but I think this is kind of dumb in response to the lake, even as a troll, Lake Ontario was given that name on maps by European explorers long before the Canadian province of Ontario was named. There are several cities in America called Ontario, at least one of them predating the Canadian province by like 100 years because the word originates with native tribes in North America. It's not a Canadian invention. Canadians never uniquely own the lake or the name. So in effect, all you're doing here is actually giving them credit for a thing that wasn't theirs to begin with. Yeah, it's funny when Canadians are upset, I guess, or whatever, which is like a really weird position to hold. But Lake Ontario, the name itself, is American history dating back many centuries. Not sure how you can own Canada by deleting your own history. When someone like Matt Walsh is objecting to it, that's how you know that Donald Trump is in a bad position. You know, this guy is a Trump ride or die to put it mildly. And so when he's saying this is ridiculous, that might be a wake up call for Donald Trump and the White House. It really should be a wake up call is the fact that Donald Trump's own voters are objecting to his moves. I mean, this is an interview that went viral the other day of a three time Trump voter. Somebody that's voted for Trump in Iowa three times, not once, not twice, three times. He decided that was a good idea, which, you know, beyond me, but he was asked, what do you think of the president? What do you think of what he's doing right now? And this is what he said. You voted for him three times. Are you disappointed? Very disappointed. Very disappointed. Why? Because the president had gone down, I don't know, I just, I'm over it, I think, over the Trump wagon. He promised no new foreign wars. We're almost six months into the war, who got Iran's war, whatever's going on over there. How do you feel about that war? I think we need to bring the troops home and just be done with it, but I'm doing whatever they want to do. Just be done with it. Or blow them up. Whatever. If, if you could give a grade to the economy, A through F, is it an A, is it a B, is it a C, is it an F? D minus. D minus. Don't ask you why. Uh, just 'cause like you said, everything expensive. Gas expenses. I got gas.
this morning, it was 450 gallon versus two, three bucks, you know, two stops I think before all this, but you said you're over the Trump thing. Do you regret your vote for President Trump? Yes. Yes. I would go back to, uh, and re think some things over. Wow. Wow. A three time Trump voter saying he regrets his vote, which, yeah, I feel like we probably should have gotten there by now much earlier. But again, beggars can't be choosers, I suppose, isn't that right? Here's another Trump voter from Iowa. He's voted once. He's 20 years old right now. And this is what he has to say about Trump. Years out of high school, and I'm already struggling for my life. It's just that shouldn't, that's not the American dream. If you could talk directly to President Trump, I would tell him right now. I would just look him in the face and just say you. That's about it. I like him. I like him. That's, that's what I would say to Donald Trump. If I had the opportunity, I think a lot of people would too. And look, they're right. Donald Trump is not focused on any of this stuff. As we've been talking about, he's focused on Lake Ontario and renaming it. And he's also focused on posting weird things on social media. I wanted to include this because I found it so disturbing. This was late last night, six, they're not late. I shouldn't say late. Uh, 6.38 p.m. Donald Trump uploaded an AI image of him and Dolly Parton. So the AI images made to look like a painting or drawing of some kind, but it's completely fake. This is a fake photo. And it says Donald Trump and Dolly Parton. I mean, she has been, she passed two days ago, two days, three A's. And Donald Trump has already disrespected her in a number of ways. I think it's common sense that people, uh, not beyond board with the president of the United States using AI for someone who just passed to make it seem like they were close. That just sounds like common sense to me, but maybe not for the president of the United States. And of course, he's also posting stuff like this. This is a real post from Trump as well that he made yesterday a presidential tier list. How does this lower prices, Maga? I just want an answer. So anyway, look, uh, he's facing a lot of backlash pretty much everybody a kiss against this. You know, you have the diehard Trump fans who would, you know, hang on every word and support everything he does and clap like seals for him breathing. But for most Americans, they're kind of confused. So look, I will leave the video there. Thank you so much for watching.
