Marte He homered in each game this weekend He has started 4 straight for the red and the playing time remains the question But in 9 games since returning Noel V. Marte has a 3 game homer streak and a 3 game steel streak He has 3 homers, 3 steels hitting 308 and he has 50% roster How high should Noel V. Marte's roster rate be right now? It needs to go up I don't know if any needs to be rostered or any points leagues Unless that's your best bet to replace Jose Ramirez and one of those But any roado league with corner-and-field spots is also eligible Now field that's been an even more difficult spot to fill in 5 outfielder leagues And so now that he seems to have earned his way back into an everyday role With very hot performances weekend You know, stand to be up 70-75% I would say Yeah, definitely an attract to pick up a lot of upside there for Marte As has always been true Hopefully this is the time he finally put the ball together And remember he was dominating triple A before he got called up He got sent down because he wasn't really playing well early on in the season Wasn't playing much But I think the reds are a team that is very desperate to make the playoffs And if he gets and stays hot I think he'll have the playing time Would you rather have Noel V. Marte or Royce Lewis Who was also a 50% roster and he is first base and third base eligible He had multi hit games, two homers and a steal this weekend He went 5, 4, 10 across the three games this weekend And eight games since returning Royce Lewis 379, three homers, one steal Remember he was just ridiculously dominant There was eight homers in 13 games 10 and 15 15 and triple A He is also 50% rostered I think I'd take Noel V. Marte ahead of him but it's very close for me Yeah, Royce Lewis isn't a bad choice It's a similar situation This is a player who at one point we thought I had must start potential And showed flashes of it in the majors But had some really rough stretches that got him sent to the miners Really it's just kind of since what the second half of 2024 Yeah, he really has a chance to send him Poorly for Lewis but he seems like he may have figured something out of triple A With that big home run binge and it's continued in the majors Looks like he's going to be playing every day So I mean you never want to lose Jose Ramirez But it's not a bad time to lose a third base There are genuine upside cases who are hot And it's not just like oh I got to make do with some scrub off the way It's not like me and I think the podcast listeners like I'm starting knowing Aranato At third base still I could use an update I'm hoping I get one of these guys when waivers run on Sunday I will point out Royce Lewis and Noel V. Marte at least as of Sunday night Are lower rostered than Colt Amerson and Zach Gelloff who have been Okay, Zach Gelloff last six games Three homers, one steel, he's got nine homers, seven steals on season Colt Amerson hitting for power not hitting the ball hard But he is pulling the ball down the line only hitting two thirty seven You'd rather have Royce Lewis or Noel V. Marte ahead of Colt Amerson or Zach Gelloff Right Yeah, I would say so they're playing time is maybe less secure But it's secure right now with the way they're performing And they definitely have more upside And Emerson has upside two but at this age I wouldn't expect him to maximize it completely For what is worth Gelloff is among my sleeper hitters for this week The athletics are one of just two teams with seven games and they're all at home Spack at Sacramento and not Las Vegas Where Gelloff like the entire lineup went bananas But still, Sacramento is a good place to hit he has good numbers there And he wouldn't be a bad choice either if only for this week Alright, we're going to take a quick break and we'll be back with some first base options and some other positions next Welcome back to FBT Express We are talking waiver wire ads ahead of week 13 And we need some first baseman if you lost Vinnie Pasquantino Though honestly might be a blessing in the skies with how bad Vinnie Pasquantino has been this season Because you're still holding on to him A lot of you are still starting him and he's just been awful All season now he's got the fractured hand made bone going to be out four to six weeks at least There are some good first baseman replacements in shallower leagues Jack Caglione and Bryce Eldridge both right around 75% roster I think they should just both kind of be 100% rostered at this point Maybe Eldridge ahead of Caglione, would you say Scott? Yeah, Eldridge might be my favorite hitter to add period regardless of position Like I think he's just about to blow up It's kind of already happening when you look at He's batting over 300, he's got an OPS over 900 strikeout rate is under 25% now I was like 21% the XBA is like 310 I was worried that strike area was going to be 35% for Eldridge Getting the ball hard isn't a problem It was just how much contact he's going to make always doing everything right now And picked up first base eligibility at least in standards CPS leagues So Eldridge I think is the top choice Caglione is hot and of course has a lot upside hits the ball very hard himself He's had strikeout issues this year but hopefully he's rounding into form And then I know you want to knock some sense into our listeners Who have not bought into Paul Goldschmidt, he's 32% rostered Yeah, he's I would put him behind those two but he's much more available than those two And he's the most under rostered of the three, he has been in every day player for the Yankees for the past few weeks And just looking like Paul Goldschmidt again The exit velocity is a little low I guess but otherwise there's not a lot of fault to find here If he was doing this, if he was doing last year what he did now he would have gotten a big contract from some team and be playing every day again As it is he's getting every day passed for the Yankees I think And Junkrollo Stan had another setback so I think even in shallow points leagues he'd be a fine choice I want to take him over Eldridge It's close call with Caglione though especially in points leagues Alright, like I mentioned Junkrollo Stan and Sephiré setback with his calf injury Trent Grisha was placed on the I.O with a right hamstring strain as well So Yankees did recall Jason Dominguez, he started Saturday and Sunday he homered on Saturday 44% roster, what's your interest level in Jason Dominguez? In 5L field of leagues it's high, it's got a lot of upside and it's been a difficult position to fill in leagues where you go that deep And I think he'll get some runway here with all these injuries the Yankees have Alright then we got a couple of prospect promotions to talk about the Cardinals promoted Blaze Jordan on Friday incredible name He's got big raw power, does not strike out very much at all but has not been much of a power hitter because he does not angle the bots It's kind of a Yondu DS situation, he had 11 homers in 57 games AAA hitting 313, 921 opias Great approach to plate, how much of an impact can this kind of hit or have at the major league level and should he be rostered in 12 team roado leagues I think there's a chance Blaze Jordan has a big impact if he keeps the strikeouts low which is he always did in the minors That's a big question when a player climbs to the majors as we've seen for instance with A to Uing Off to a good start. This weekend already his first home run I think Blaze Jordan is somebody that in leagues that require third corner in fielder And if you need help there I'm not saying to throw a ton of $5 on him but he's he's definitely an interesting pick up. All right. And then way lower down the list, this Cooper Pratt shortstop for the brewers. Remember, he sent a big extension back in April 50 plus million dollars before making his MLB debut. He was only hitting 244 at AAA with six homers, 17 steals. Not a lot of pop, very, very good defensive player. Imagine he's going to take over as a starting shortstop for the brewers. Yeah. He's 10% roster to how much higher should that go? Probably 30 to 40% roster to start out. It would have to be a deeper league. He had been performing a lot better of late at AAA Cooper Pratt last 28 games, 287 batting hours, five home runs, eight steals and eight 79 OPS. But that's with poor exit velocities. A poor, poor, poor air rate. Both of those are in the blue. If you look at his prospects of on page. And I think a big reason Cooper Pratt is coming up is a defense B. They're just getting nothing from that spot at the major league level. And so why not try him out, especially with the service time thing out the window because he signed a long-term deal. I'm not sure Cooper Pratt is necessarily forced to the issue as much as the brewers were forced into this. And we'll see how it goes. But for now, you can leave him for deep release. All right, then very quickly if you need saves, you end your scum as from the twins or Elvice Alvarado of the A's. Look, either one of them looks like a good pick up now. Elvice Alvarado, I think, has more upside and he's been terrific. 11 strikeouts and five and a third innings since coming back from the miners to saves last week. I think Elvice Alvarado is trending toward being the athletic scloser. All right.
