The podcast explores a growing crisis in the preservation of Black literature, where books are being banned or eliminated due to fears of provoking discomfort in white students, leading to a broader concern about the erosion of empathy and connection in education. Hosts argue that reading should be celebrated as a joyful, multifaceted experience—not limited to academic contexts. The discussion is framed within a larger cultural landscape, highlighted by diverse podcasts that feature music, sports, and personal narratives to promote authenticity and inclusivity. In parallel, college football analysis reveals instability in playoff projections, driven by injuries, scheduling imbalances, and shifting team performance. A major critique centers on conference realignment, which has created extreme disparities in strength of schedule and competitive fairness, undermining the integrity of the playoff system. The hosts propose that halting playoff expansion and reversing realignment would be the first step toward restoring balance. Ultimately, the episodes combine personal stories, humor, and deep analysis to show how cultural and athletic institutions are both reflecting and shaping societal values. These narratives underscore a need for transparency, empathy, and principled leadership in all areas of public life.
Is there an epidemic against literature? More specifically, Black Literature. I'm Jack Weiss-Peace Thomas. And on this season of the Black Lit podcast, we're outside asking why. They don't want a whole bunch of little elevators, Malcolm X's and Martin with the King's on the round. And when you look at a lot of different cultures, feel like we need to know where you came from. And considering this is Black Reading Month, the only real question is, what are you reading next? It's in Vesco, QQ, Q Atlantic, Gridiron, classic prediction night. I've waited for this my whole life. It's Tuesday, October 27th, the year of our Lord, 2026, where jam packed. We're high atop a bustling downtown Nashville, Tennessee. You know, Jesse, a week from tonight. Firstly, we need to talk about our schedule next Tuesday, because a week from tonight, it's playoff revelation night, right? Is that the official branding? I don't think it is. We'll talk to sales about it. But as for tonight, we got some week nine predictions. Is it a lighter week? Yes, it is. That just gives us more time to do a half a show's worth of mailbag towards the end of tonight. And we haven't taken a dive into the mailbag in a while, so I don't know what's in there. I do, because it's in the rundown, but some timely questions that need to be answered. We've got some JP poll movement immunity. We have got a full-on college football playoff bracket prediction update. I think I'm waffling on Ohio State. I think some things have happened elsewhere in the Big Ten that are just making me rethink this whole Ohio State misses the playoff thing. And I'm not nailed to this. This was always written in pencil. So if I flip flop, that's my constitutional right. I've still got like 30 or 45 minutes to decide whether I'm going to do that, and that terrifies press 'cause he's already made the graphic. But yeah, I'll let you know one way or another. And like I said, we got some stuff on whether Davos should just call it quits. I don't know that that's how this business works, but there's some Clemson fans hoping he does. I got some stuff on just a thing that I'd love to do if I were commissioner right now. I think I've traced down all of our problems to one thing. You know, if I could put that thing in the form of a button, and I could press it. Jesse, I think we could cure 95% of what Ails college football right now. So we're a jam packed tonight. They're watching us in Zanesville, Ohio. James Port, Missouri, Copenhagen, Denmark, is tuned in at this late hour over there. And Hattiesburg, Mississippi, go eagles! They won. As a 10 point dog, I'm told they won last week. I can't do it, press. I can't do the sound. You know what I'm trying to do though. What are we at? 592 917, that's our live sub count right now. And hey, I'm not going to clap 592,000 times, but I appreciate everyone who has subbed to those of you who haven't. Please do. It helps us out greatly. We are on the road to 600K. And the sooner we get there, the sooner we could put Jesse through some sort of humiliating ritual. Probably on air, we'll see. But I appreciate you. It helps us out a lot. So, I know it sounds like I am joking. And some guy just said he unsubbed in the chat. So now I need two people at least to subbed and make up for him. It's tough, man, we're all suffering. Okay, let's dive in. A lot of whale breaches on the show tonight. It's that time of year. Jesse, I think this could be one of the best in Vesco, QQ, Q Atlanta gridiron classics we've ever seen. Florida versus Georgia, this Saturday. Look, if you ever have any doubt, first off, this game's presented by Jimmy John's. Barbecue brisket subs still available, by the way. While supplies last, Jimmy John's app or JimmyJohns.com, if you ever doubt whether there's just a total detachment from reality, from some of the people who have their hands on the levers of this sport, just look at what they try and rename these games. I don't know anyone at Vesco. I'm sure these are fine people. I don't know that they're fully washed in all things college football. One of the easiest wins you guys could ever have. Free advice here, ironically, to Vesco, is just call it the world's largest indoor cocktail party. They're playing it in Atlanta this year or better yet open the roof and you could still call it outdoors. You people don't get it. You just don't get, you have easy layup wins. I've never used Vesco in my life. Half the folks at that game don't even know what you do. They would go out of their way to seek you out just because you called the game by its proper name. Instead of this garbage, can you imagine what learned language model, nonsense, had to be spun to spit out the in Vesco QQQ Atlanta gridiron classic. If I'm Kirby or some role and I win, I protest. I protest the name right there on the podium. So this is the first time since 2020, this is a ranked matchup. So that's some good news. It seems like collectively, the college football public has just gathered and they decided we're gonna totally dismiss George's loss. Jesse, have you heard anyone talking about the Auburn loss? I haven't heard anyone making a big deal about it. I really think it's as simple as people looked at it and they said, we saw George beat Bama. We think the Auburn loss is due to being minus three turnovers which is due to hangover effect from playing Alabama. We still think George is really good, the end. And I agree with you. So I am of you. I am also sort of looking past that. My question, as we get into the preview here, is if Florida were to pull the upset here, might we look back at the conclusion of this in Vesco triple Q at Atlanta gridiron classic and say, should we have valued that loss a little more? I don't know. I do know that George's 9-0 following an in-season loss since 2019, paper popper of a stat. So let's get real for a second. How's Florida pull this off? The line's 11 1/2. How does Florida pull it off? Step one, Jaden Ball has to be an effective weapon. He can't just be on the field. He's got to be an effective weapon. He did nothing against Missouri. He was 15 carries for 59 yards against South Carolina. Reverse spoiler alert. They lost both of those games. Texas held him three and a half yards per carry. And so what is he in this game? You're coming out of a buy. You've done all the self-scouting. You've done all this and that. What is he here? Well, he's got to be a weapon. Step two, directly tied to step one. That makes the whole play action piece of this offense work. And you've got to give the quarterback time to work. So Vernell Brown is probably back here. And maybe that's the whole key that unlocks this offense. But Georgia has seven different guys with two or more sacks right now. So collectively, they've gotten pretty good pressure. They did against Alabama. Theoretically, will against Florida. But KJ Bolden's status needs to be monitored here. Because that's a big deal, whether he's playing or not. So on the other side, last time we saw Gunner Stockton, it was bad day for him. Really bad day. And Georgia was minus three turnovers and they lost against Auburn largely because of that. So what is the best medicine? This is going to sound disrespectful to Florida, because I don't respect their secondary. The 121st ranked past defense is the medicine. Now, long time viewers of the show will remember, I also use that logic to justify archmaning. And the Texas passing game getting right against Florida. And they didn't. Here's the difference. Georgia's actually got a pretty efficient past game. So I do expect Gunner Stockton to look pretty good here. He can find the vertical stuff too.
Georgia's top 30 offensively in passes of 20 plus they are top 10 and passes of 40 plus the good old fashioned cat Buster they'll find them on you and Florida Conversely 82nd in explosive passes allowed defensively. So especially coming out of a by-week I expect it to be there contrary to what my Georgia buddies tell me Mike Bobo actually does know what he's doing as an offensive Coordinator Georgia's done a good job in pass pro two. So they've given him time to throw That's the one area here to keep an eye on because Florida defensively they are top 10 and have a great So if this if this were to you know if this were to be another day where the Georgia offense looks really out of sorts It's probably because of that. It's probably because Florida got a lot more pressure than anyone has on him to date Sometimes it's hard to know what the padlock stat is gonna be It's pretty clear third down is gonna be a padlock. Let's prepadlock this Jesse. We allowed to do that. Yeah Let's prepadlock stat third down. Listen to these numbers. Florida is 120th in third-down defense Georgia 7th in third down offense. Okay Heavy lean Georgia there unless something changes out of the by-week. We continue. It's a big-time staff game You're you're always looking at staffing coming out of the by because you always want a Good staff with a little bit more time thus the by-week both of these well, we know Georgia's got a really good staff We think Florida's got a high-level staff But it goes deeper with Florida because you got a lot of familiarity You've got Brad White who has faced Mike Bobo and done pretty successfully Against him a number of times But you've also got Buster Faulkner with a lot of familiarity and he's had some success Against Kirby smart and Glenn Schumann in Georgia. So we've got to take all that into account Fan duel. Let's take a look at what the model thinks versus fan duel. Fan duel's got Georgia minus 11 and a half model has Georgia minus 10 I am splitting difference here. I think it'll be a competitive game Man, you got a you're gonna have to prove to me. You're gonna upset Georgia though in this spot Georgia already they're not undefeated so they know they have a lot less margin for error I think Georgia's too good in the end. They win the game Probably would lean Florida plus the points. No strong feel. I think the numbers pretty much right there We would go to that game if they'd play it on a home campus, but they're not so We're going to wait for us That's where the don't tread on Saturday tour is headed for a week 9 Virginia at Wake Forest and you know what that means Jesse That means a Wake Forest themed t-shirt is in the store at paintstatematerial.com right now And I took a look at it and these are good colors. So it comes as no surprise to me that that's a really good-looking shirt RACC shirts this year have looked phenomenal that Virginia Tech shirt was awesome. This is awesome like to the point where I Know not everybody watching the show is a Wake Forest fan If I were just watching if I were Mitch knowing good and well We're not coming to Tempe, Arizona this year I may just wait until the colors I like pop up and I may just buy that shirt. That's about as close as Arizona States getting to the don't tread on Saturday tour this year. Unless we take a sympathy visit We love Kenny. We just don't love him. That's a that's an expensive plane ticket. So yes, hey more on the paintstate store later Someone hunter wants a shirt for his birthday Hunter can you prove that it's your birth? How do I even know he just said that in the chat? This show is pre-recorded after all So how do I even know that hunter just said that? How do I know someone's asking what the gurgling sound is? I Shouldn't acknowledge that someone just called out the gurgling sound But you need to understand This is a very tough time of year for me very tough time of year I have fall allergies and spring allergies, okay whale breach But I fight through it that probably the gurgling and whale breach sounds are the best evidence the show is live Cause what kind of psychopath would let these sounds go out in a pre-recorded episode of the show? Not me hold on there. We go. So It's just tough. I'm fighting through it. It's tough. I wouldn't wish these symptoms on my worst in them I probably would on people I just dislike I wouldn't wish this on only my worst enemies what I wish this on But we got to play less than a hundred percent Camario Taylor tried to give it a go. So I'm I'm trying to give it a go by the way that news sucks I mean, I know it was funny to watch Brandon Walker wallow in misery But frankly the brand of walkers got so many more failures in life that I could watch him wallow in misery any day of the week I don't like watching him suffer because Camario Taylor is out for the year But that was the announcement. We got him out for the year Dante Moore to organs out for the year This is not fun. This is not fun On big lives, we take a single cultural icon people like Jane Fonda George Michael Richard prior and we pull apart The story behind the image and we do this by digging through the BBC's fast archive We're talking iconic moments in broadcast history. I'm not just a boxer. I'm educating I can talk all week on a millions of subjects and forgotten interviews that change how we see these giants of our culture Well, if changing the system from the ground up is revolutionary and then I'm revolutionary We're here for the messy the brilliant the human version of our heroes We want to go on stage. I was like no, I don't want to do it. You said no I played with players that didn't I don't think that they really truly loved the game I found the love with the ball at my flight But in my head it was the long game It was like I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox I'm gonna go get some reps and I'm gonna learn it and love it and embrace it He said this group of people will never be in the same room as part of the same team ever again in your life And it is your job to make sure that you enjoy the moment. You're proud of what you accomplish together Listen to whatever it takes with Carly Lloyd and Jenny Taft on the iHeart Radio app Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts Is there an epidemic against literature more specifically black literature our books are being banned scanned by AI and Destroyed I'm Jacquie's peace Thomas and on this season of the black lit podcasts We're outside asking some of the custodians of our stories teachers and our modern-day writers why they don't want a whole bunch of Elevators Malcolm X's and Martin with the Kings on their own they want to build children who have no empathy That's really the ultimate goal. We want books that don't make white kids feel bad So is the war on literacy and information or our ability to connect We want people to know how sexy reading is then how fun they could be and not always associated with Education it could be in a state. It could be entertainment and that is the beauty of reading It can be all of those things and considering this is black reading month the only real question is What are you reading next listen to black lit from the black effect podcast network on their iHeart Radio app Apple podcast or wherever you get your podcast Hey, what's up y'all it's Questlove and on the Questlove show I've been sitting down with some really interesting people And I've got two recent episodes you should check out I caught up with my good friend Jojo to talk about her music her career and what she's been up to don't invite me to karaoke I'm gonna make it weird someone's gonna try to sing leave get out her too little too late or baby to you And I'm gonna be like Okay, cool. I'm like ah You're gonna feel better and those are just two of the many recent episodes of the Questlove show Listen to the Questlove show or the iHeart Radio app Apple podcast Wherever you get your podcast Peace Oh Let's continue Quarterbacks that are out for a while julienne sayons out for a while and yet the Ohio state buckais are Girding their loins and headed out west Yeah, watch major league Jesse if you don't get the reference they are taking on USC Saturday 7 30 In the Coliseum on NBC. That's a 7 30 Eastern kickoff. It's 4 30 local so many different things going on here quick trip The proud presenters of this game quick trip Joe Close personal friend of Lincoln Riley from his Oklahoma days. Not really But he is presenting this game along with quick trip. This is a helmet game It's first time they've placed this 2017. You know producer Jesse made a rare good point earlier today. He said
When I look at this, this feels like a ball game matchup, the jerseys. But yet it's a conference game. But many of us have not gotten used to the concept ridiculous as it is that USC is in the big 10. Nor has USC gotten used to that concept. So Ohio State 58 and 1 versus unranked teams against Ryan Day. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to mention who the one was. Look, I know people keep saying USC is a lot different team in home. Cool. What did that matter when Oregon played them? So I know that's technically valid. Yeah. Here's what I do know. Both of these teams are still alive for the playoff. And everyone knows that about Ohio State. It feels like USC's dead cause they played like they were dead last weekend. They're still alive for the playoff. And yet everyone speculating about Lincoln Riley's future. So there's no way to know what USC even is here. Here's the sad state of affairs. Ohio State's the team taking a backup quarterback on the road for his first start. And USC is the operation. I have no idea what to expect from. And they're home. So my office is a good quarterback, but he's not a miracle worker. And they're 0 and 6 when he throws 40 plus times. So they've got to have a more reliable ground game here. Ohio State's top 20 defensively in most every category except pressure rate. So if you're trying to find the path, and this is a six and a half point spread. So it's not like, you know, some intramountable hurdle. They can win this game. Jade, my office just got to get the job done without interceptions and there were interceptions last week. Maybe that's the key. Maybe he has more time to operate than you would expect. But my expectation here is Ohio State is just going to get after USC physically in every way possible. That's how it felt watching Wisconsin game and Ohio State is just a better roster than Wisconsin. So what kind of what kind of focus is there here? You'll know early on. I mean, you don't know the outcome of all games after watching the first quarter. But in terms of effort, pride and performance, just the stuff you're supposed to be able to take for granted as a fan is that there for USC? That's the first thing. The second thing is the execution piece there. How much does Ohio State need in this offensive game plan? Because we think it's going to be Luke Fahey starting at quarterback, Tavian St. Clair. I heard Ryan Day say they both had a good look in their eye this week. I said the same thing about press before every show and he delivers. So maybe it doesn't even matter who starts for Ohio State in a much more real sense though. And this is just my brutally honest assessment of this game. There are going to be days coming where they're going to need to do something at the quarterback position. They're going to need to have, you know, the ability to open up the offensive game plan and open up the offense. That will happen. Someone will lock you down defensively enough. Someone will get you in a street fight enough to where quarterback's going to have to make plays to win you games. I don't know that this game is that. To me, I got some stuff written on paper here. USC's run defense number 34 Ohio State's rushing offense number 73. I take that. I look at it. I smile. I nod. I wadded up and I throw it in the garbage. This ought to be a game that comes down to just physics. And your guys are able to do things to USC against their will that they can do nothing about. The same thing Wisconsin did. Do we have the quote by the way? I know this is a quote from a Wisconsin running back. But I think in the end of this game, it'll apply Brian Jackson, former USC player who transferred to Wisconsin. We showed this Sunday night. I'm going to show it again because I think this is an accurate description of what this game will look like. Quote, "Griddy ain't pretty." We played the harder football game. We brought it to them and they can't really do nothing with us. It's just two different types of football. Ohio State plays a different type of football than USC does. I really couldn't care less whose run defense is ranked top 35, whose rushing offense is outside the 70s. Jesse, would it shock you if Ohio State didn't have success running the ball Saturday night? Because it would shock me. It would very, very much surprise me. So, if I'm wrong on that, ignore what I'm about to say. But I think I'm right on that to some extent. So here's what USC needs to have happen. One of these two things, they either need to get an early score, which just injects a ton of life and energy, but also makes Ohio State play from behind, or they need to force an early turnover, which makes Ohio State kind of go into an offensive shell, which they've done before. So, I say all that, but I also acknowledge stuff doesn't work out the way it's supposed to. This whole college football season, we've looked at results and said, "Man, who saw that coming?" I find myself saying that multiple times per Saturday, so let's take a look at what the model thinks. Ohio State right now is a six and a half point favorite. The model has Ohio State minus seven and a half, so that's a key number, obviously, that were across. My favorite pick in this game is under 51 and a half. And that's even if there's some early scoring here. I think there's eventually a swath, a chunk of this game that sort of grinds to a halt, and it brings this game under, but if I'm going against the spread, I'm laying the points with Ohio State. USC's got to show me. They got to prove it to me. Let's move on. Let's move on to a far less consequential part of the show. Appreciate you guys watching live, if you are, by the way, my screen froze there. Welcome in, by the way, if you are watching live. JP polls out, which is just the model's neutral field favorite ability rating, certainly not a ranking, which we all understand, and there will be no disagreement on that. I posted it earlier, and there it is, if you haven't seen it, a couple of quick takeaways before we get into your reactions. Wake Forest being all the way up at number 15 in a predictive model is a huge deal, huge deal. I got no idea why Louisville is still as high as they are. This is the model's output, not mine. USC at 17 seems a little bit fraudulent, however, the model still respects their talent profile. You can make of that, whatever you want to make of that. UCLA's 21, look, there's big disagreement between ourselves and Fandall about where boys he should be. We've got boys way higher, G6 Josh and all, and it's got boys way higher than Fandall would. So, I put this out earlier today. Georgia's number one, if you're listening on pod, Notre Dame, LSU all the way up to three. LSU's rocketed up the board. Miami's fourth, Ohio State's fifth, Ohio State, I will address in a second, because one of you pointed it out. Okay, so some of the feedback we got, Deacon Wall Street 79, he said Missouri overweight on a neutral field as bananas redo the model. It turns out I don't need to, because we hit up Fandall and ask them what would the line be with, or Missouri versus weight neutral field. Missouri minus three and a half neutral field versus weight, so the model's doing exactly what it's supposed to do, just because you don't like what the number would be doesn't mean the model's wrong. Okay, so in this case, Fandall agrees with the model. Here's my overarching advice, this could apply to weight, it could apply to UCLA fans, Kentucky fans, if just piece of advice, for any fan of an upstart team that's exceeding expectations and doesn't have a top 10 payroll or doesn't have a top 10 talent roster, don't worry about power ratings, because these type of ratings are never going to be congruent with what you've actually achieved on the field, because that's not what it's built to do. These are totally different story. Rankings are properly acknowledging what UCLA is not. On the Thursday show this week, I'll have the commissioners poll. It will properly acknowledge what UCLA is not. That is not the way predictive modeling works. You will always feel disrespected and always be disappointed if you're looking to odds-makers to reward you like Kentucky, winning a bunch of close games. That's great. And to me, they should be ranked top five. And then a predictive model, no, you'd be a point spread underdog to some teams that would very much surprise you. Don't worry about it. As long as you keep winning, it doesn't mean anything. It actually just becomes fun to laugh at. Next up, it's that time of week, Jesse Weakly, Notre Dame outrage segment, Andy Han, cool name. He said, "What could the model possibly see in Notre Dame?" A really good team, a really deep talent roster, high end potential. There's our JP poll. Click on Notre Dame there. What does it see? Well, that's a whole team profile, just a little miniature look at some of the stuff that we build on Lovable, just for our own personal sake. And just kind of a little slight glimpse into what the model would see with Notre Dame. I don't know how else to tell you this. I got no problem. If you looked at Notre Dame ranked fourth or fifth in the AP poll and said they shouldn't be that high. Because I don't think they should be quite that high. And I'll talk about that later. But Notre Dame?
From a power rating perspective, from who'd be favored against who, they are a very strong team and they're going to be very, very highly rated. And I got news for you. They could lose to Miami and it's still be way up there because that's just the way this works the same way with Texas at number seven. Texas has already lost a few games. Everyone keeps watching Texas waiting for him to fall apart. So hey, guess what happened, Jesse, they grabbed a 24-3 lead on Ole Miss in Austin Saturday night. Okay? You wouldn't have seen that coming, right? But if you're an odds maker, you have to bake that possibility into where you're power rating them. So see, everybody's quiet. All the folks that called Texas out last week, they were real quiet. You know, when Texas grabs a 24-3 lead, but if you had to do this, or if you had to do what Fandall does, for example, and you had to set numbers that are publicly available to be wagered on, you can't be quiet. You got to put that number out there and have it exposed to the world and have it exposed to the market. And that's how it works. Next up, this is actually a good question. So Tiger bait buffet said Fandall has LSU minus three and a half against Alabama next week. He said, if we assume home field is worth three points, how is the gap so much wider here? So what he's saying is this game is about to happen in a little over a week. The number's already out. Fandall's got LSU minus three and a half against Alabama. Roughly a field goal of home field advantage is implied. Therefore Fandall's basically telling you, we got LSU and Alabama within half a point of each other. So that's the case in the JP poll. How is LSU three and Alabama's 10? Well, I'll tell you, the model's higher on LSU than Fandall is. By about one and three quarter points, we're higher. Slash it's higher on LSU. That's it. So there's disagreement between the model and Fandall and we're about to get to find out who knows what they're talking about in a little over a week. Next up, I do need to explain this. You'll notice Brian noticed genuine question. How does the model now bake in the injury to Julian Sayon when we don't even know who's going to be starting at quarterback for Ohio State? Firstly, I was going to forget about this, so I'm glad Brian said something. Last week, we had already made the graphics and gotten ready for the show before the news came out officially about Julian Sayon. So last week we had Ohio State number one and I made sure to tell you this is without the news of Julian Sayon's injury baked in. This is with Julian Sayon's injury baked in, so Ohio State fell to fifth from last week. Part two is, okay, how do you even know how to power rate his replacement, his backup? You don't know who it is. That's true. What you do is you give a best guess and you insert whatever the baseline rating for an average backup quarterback would be. That's all you have to go on. And if you think that Luke Fay, he's going to be way better than a baseline average backup or Tavy and St. Clair, if he were to start, then that's how you identify value and you should go hammer Ohio State. I can't afford to take that blind risk. Also, you don't totally subtract Julian Sayon's value here, like if Julian Sayon's worth six points, you don't automatically subtract six points of Ohio State. You subtract the difference between his value above replacement. So if his backups were two and three quarter points and he's worth six points, well, you actually will subtract three and a quarter points. That's kind of how that works. And we did, or the model did, and that's why Ohio State's fifth. I think that the overall gap here, I've seen Bill Connelly talking about this, like pretty much anyone who does predictive modeling out there, everyone's saying the same thing. The gap between one through ten, the gap between one through twenty five of the gap between fifteen and forty five. It's never been this compact. So that means you've already had a lot of chaos, you're probably going to continue to have a lot of chaos. But here's the other thing to keep an eye on, LSU is an example of this. Ironically, Alabama may be an example of this. The higher paid rosters, there is a disproportionately bigger impact on those teams when they lose starting players than when the number thirty power rated team in the country loses them. The thinking there is unlike back in the day, when George and Alabama could just stack NFL talent on their 3D, that's not what the debt charts look like anymore. They still may have NFL starting caliber starters, but then it's more likely the fall off between the starter and his number two is steeper. When those kinds of teams, who have been without those players, start to get those players back, that's when you've got to be very careful because that may be when a big springboard effect is about to happen. Case in point, LSU's getting some guys back. We think coming out of this bi-week Alabama is about to get some guys back. So just if you've been sitting around saying, "Boy, what happened to LSU or what happened to Alabama? What are the theories or what happened?" You saw the Ola JP poll over there, we built that thing with Lovable. I told you the other day I was going to show you some of our products that we use in house. We've partnered with Lovable or Lovable. Lovable is what I used to call my little bear that I had as a kid before I could fully pronounce my V's, Lovable. I may still stick with that. I don't think them as a company would enjoy that very much, but Lovable software creation platform. I've talked about it for a few shows, now it allows millions of people to act on the problems and opportunities that are closest to them. We had a problem, Jesse. We wanted to put our model visible so that the world could see it. We went to Lovable. We described what we wanted and then we planned it. We designed it. We built it. We started with us and then they provided the background infrastructure to run it and they governed the software that we built. We went from idea to live product basically in one meeting, like in a day. You don't even have to have a meeting with them. You just go to Lovable.com and start building today. On big lives, we take a single cultural icon. People like Jane Fonda, George Michael, Richard Pryor, and we pull apart the story behind the image. We do this by digging through the BBC's fast archive. We're talking iconic moments in broadcast history. I'm not just a boxer, I'm educating, I can talk all week on millions of subjects. And forgotten interviews, that change how we see these giants of our culture. Well, if changing the system from the ground up is revolutionary, then I'm revolutionary. We're here for the messy, the brilliant, the human version of our heroes. And we want to go on stage, I like to dress as lucky as possible because it makes me dance a bit for some reason. I'm Emmanuel Jochi. I'm Kai Wright, and this is Big Lives. Listen to Big Lives on the iHeartRadio app Apple Podcast or wherever you get podcasts. I'm former USman's National Soccer Team player, Carly Lloyd, and Fox Sports reporter Jenny Taft. And on our new podcast, whatever it takes, we're talking motherhood, marriages, careers, and figuring out how to balance it all. And we'll discuss the game that brought us together because nothing is off limits. Do you remember your initial reaction when Fox called you to be a part of the World Cup? I was like, no, I don't want to do it. You said no. I played with players that didn't, I don't think that they really truly loved the game. But in my head, it was the long game. It was like, I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox. I'm going to go get some reps, and I'm going to learn it and love it and embrace it. He said this group of people will never be in the same room as part of the same team ever again in your life. Is there an epidemic against literature, more specifically Black literature? Our books are being banned, scanned by AI and destroyed. I'm Jack Wee's Peace Thomas, and on this season of the Black Lit Podcast, we're outside asking some of the custodians of our stories, teachers, and our modern day writers why? They don't want a whole bunch of little elevators, Malcolm X's and Martin Luther King's on the route. They want to build children who have no empathy. That's really the ultimate goal. We want books that don't make white kids feel bad. So is the war on literacy and information or our ability to connect? Well, people with a know how sexy reading is and how fun they can be and not always associated with education. They could be in a state, they could be entertainment. And that is the beauty of reading. It can be all of those things. A question to Black Lit from the Black Effect Podcast Network on our iHeart Radio at Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, what's up, y'all? It's Quest Love. And on the Quest Love Show, I've been sitting down with some really interesting people. And I've got two recent episodes you should check out. I caught up with my good friend, JoJo, and talk about it.
and her music, her career, and what she's been up to. - Don't invite me to karaoke. I'm gonna make it weird. Someone's gonna try to sing, leave get out, or too little too late, or baby too. - Oh, no. - And I'm gonna be like, okay, cool. - I also caught up with Wallace 267 for a conversation that covered his story, his perspective, and plenty more. - I don't even call it cheat day, 'cause a life day. I'm not doing that. Don't try to be slick and just go Sunday. Go Wednesday. This is what you do. Sleep later, make a reservation for the rest of my life. Just chill. Listen to the music you wanna listen to. Just enjoy it. It's gonna be all right. Nothing's gonna have you awake. Wake up Wednesday, go by, ah, you're gonna feel better. - And those are just two of the many recent episodes of the Quest Love Show. Listen to the Quest Love Show or the I Heart Radio app, app podcast, wherever you get your podcast. Peace. It is a treacherous time of the show, not just because of allergies, but partially because of allergies. I've got the updated college football playoff predictions in my hand. And by thee, I mean mine. So last week, I did a little mid-season update and then I thought to myself, why limit that? 'Cause there's so much changing every week. This was last week, by the way. Obviously, probably not painting Brigham Young quite as high as I did. So that was last week, right, Jessie? That was last week. No, this is this week. This is the one I got. No, I'm looking at something different. Well, I got two different things on my monitors. I didn't know we could do that. Can we do that? We can. Anyway, I'm gonna have you re-wreck the segment anyway. So only viewers of the live show heard the nonsense that just happened over the past a minute. You ready, Bradley? Here we go. Three, two, one. I have to update my college football playoff predictions. We check the rulebook. I'm allowed to do this. So last week, I had Brigham Young as the number one overall seed. Then they went to Central Florida and some bad stuff happened. Okay, so if I sit to say, learn my lesson, I'm not having a big 12 team as the number one overall seed. There's gonna be other movement. USC, I have no faith and confidence. In retrospect, there's not room for two Los Angeles teams in the college football playoff. So anyway, I have made some adjustments and these are the current odds to win a national championship. George is the overall favorite. Notre Dame Ohio State still got the number three odds. I don't know what we should take from that. Is it just, they don't think there's that big a drop off from Julian saying to the back up. Do they just think a defense is gonna carry the day? Oh no, Miami's fourth best odds. I bet that's getting a lot of action right now after what they did last week to pit. Unspeakable things. They did to pit. Mario Cristobal versus Bill Bella checked this weekend. We asked for it for so long. We never thought that we would get it delivered to us. So Indiana still up there, LSU Alabama. You get the picture. So here is, as of this very moment here in the last week of October, how I am carefully projecting the final one through 12. I've got Indiana as my number one overall scene. I don't have them losing another game. Now it's gonna be tight every step of the way. But I do think if they can get through Minnesota, get to the buy, Josh Hoover heals up a little bit. I think they'll play their best ball in November. If they do, I actually have them facing UCLA in the conference title game. And I think they would beat them. So I'd have Indiana number one. I'd have UCLA at seven. 'Cause I got them losing one regular season game. And then they would lose the big 10 title game. I don't think that'd fall that far. I think they'd be at seven. Okay, got Notre Dame at two. Right now, Model predicts Notre Dame to beat Miami. We'll pick that game next week. 'Cause I may differ with the model, but this is what the model would spit out right now. It's kind of a mixture. This is not pure model output, but kind of a mixture. So Notre Dame would be the two seed. Georgia SEC champ three seed. Miami. ACC champ one loss to Notre Dame as the four seed. I have got Brigham Young winning the big 12 still, but they don't have an unblemished resume. So I've got them with the five seed. I've got Alabama in the SEC title game losing to Georgia. And falling, you know, this would be a 10 and two, Bama, then becoming what a 10 and three Bama, right? I don't, but I have them not fallen that far. 'Cause I don't think the committee's gonna punish the SEC runner up just like they didn't last year. UCLA seven, this is the big change. I'm reversing on Ohio State. I'm gonna paint them in the playoff right now. I'm very soft on this, but I think that the combination of USC just not being the threat I thought they would be, they play that game this weekend. And also, I thought Dante Moore would come back and he's done for the year. And so there are a couple of things about the Ohio State path that got easy enough to wear. Yeah, I was only like 55, 45, one way to begin with. So now I'm only 55, 45 the other way. I think a 10 and two Ohio State would be number eight. I'd put Kentucky at number nine at 10 and two at large. I've got LSU as a nine and 13 at large as the 10 seed. I've got Utah sneaking in as the big 12 runner up as the 11 seed and Jason Eck is officially a projected playoff participant. What a night in Albuquerque. Can you imagine when he finds out that he has made it as a playoff projected participant? We may send rings out there for this. This is a big deal. How would this bracket look, you may ask? Well, luckily, Pres made a helpful graphic. This would be Will Stein and taking the Wildcats into Columbus, Ohio in the first round. Jason Eck actually does not have that far to go. Just up the road in Provo, Utah, although this states out west are really big. That's not just up the road. Let's see, LSU goes to UCLA. Utah comes to Alabama. I would advance Ohio State over Kentucky. I would advance Brigham Young over New Mexico, although I gave thought to the upset. Let's go Alabama over Utah. Let's go LSU going to the Rose Bowl and beating UCLA. So we got LSU Notre Dame, Georgia, Alabama, would be the third time they've played this year. Thank goodness for that. First two times not enough. We really need to see that game a third time. Miami Brigham Young, Ohio State, Indiana. So my final four right now would be Indiana, Miami, Notre Dame, Georgia. I'm keeping Miami all the way through his national champs over Georgia. That's where I stand right now. You know, it's really funny how much you believe in the SEC making sure it distributes all of its losses, carefully enough to where it can have a bunch of three lost teams and two lost teams. Like there are people out there who could put as many as five SEC teams in I've seen. I think we put four, right, Jesse? Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, LSU. We got four. It's just, I also don't know this. I don't know how the committee is gonna handle the Utah scenario. So Utah, just think this through with me for a second. I put Utah in as the 11C. I have Utah going 11 and one in the regular season, losing to Brigham Young. And I have them losing to them again in the Big 12 title game. Same thing that happened to Brigham Young last year. They lost to Texas Tech once. They lost to them again in the conference title game. Now the committee dropped them out. My million dollar question is if the committee was faced with 11 and two Utah conference title loss, both losses to the same team or a nine and three Texas, what would they do? I don't know. That's why I put Utah in. But there could easily be another three loss SEC team there. Few weeks ago, actually, it's been like a week. I was perusing Twitter in my limited free time. Actually, I hadn't done anything for like an hour. And I saw a central Michigan head coach, Matt Drinkle, just dropped gospel essentially at his press conference about a lot of stuff that sucks about college football right now. And all of it was true. And I looked at it and I said, I need to respond. And so I put this out. I said, when I'm college football commissioner, I will form an elite committee of decision makers who have exhibited love for sport over self. What a concept. Today, I am happy to announce central Michigan head coach, Matt Drinkle, has earned a position on sat team six. Then I went on about my business, Jesse. But I thought to myself later on in the day, sat team six. Sounds like more than just a tweet. I'll tell you what it sounds like. It sounds like a shirt in the paint state store. That's what it sounds like. So I hit up Alex and sure enough, within the span of a few days, she just mocked up a whole bunch of sat team six shirts. Only by this, if you're serious about this sport, please. I'm not even letting all the staff have these shirts yet. But these are the protectors and defenders of Saturday, Jesse. This is sat team six.
Okay? So, technically, it's free for anyone to purchase at PaystateMaterial.com. Look at military chuggy. He's got head gear on. Are those night vision goggles on chuggy? I think they may be. Yeah. That's a, that's a sweet eagle logo there too. You know what sound the eagle makes, don't you? No, I'm not going to do it again, but you know what sound the eagle makes. So yeah, that's available right now. PaystateMaterial.com. So, you know earlier today we opened the mailbag. And it's been a busy year, so we haven't really been able to open the mailbag a whole lot. And boy, I'm glad we did. Colin from Columbia, South Carolina asked, "Do you think dabbo will get fired this year?" And if so, during the season or postseason, to be clear, I don't want him fired. That was his submission. No, I don't think he'll be fired. Not classically fired. Not the dabbo please sit down. We're going to have to let you go. And you are owed $60 million and we're going to pay that cost contractually. We're obligated to do that. No, I don't think they're going to do that. I don't think many schools at all are in position to pay these buyouts that they're on the hook for them. So there is no mitigation. There's no offset clause. There's nothing. If you fire that dude, unless he just finds it in his heart to let you off the hook, which I don't think he will, you're paying him that money. So no, I don't think that that will happen. Now, this is his 18th season. It is going nowhere fast. It continues to trend the wrong direction. He is the variable. I'm not in dabbo's head nor is anyone. There is always the possibility, maybe remote, but there's always the possibility that at the end of the year, dabbo looks in the mirror and just acknowledges, it's time. And he comes to you and he says, I understand what the situation is. Let's talk about this. I'm not letting you off the hook, but if we want to negotiate something here, okay, now that's unlikely. And he does not owe you anything. He does not owe it to you to do that. He could, but I think he's got to initiate that. If Clemson comes to him and says, hey, we want to talk reduced by out. He's going to slime the door in their face. So there's no sign. This gets better. There are plenty of signs. It gets worse. Look, I don't even think most general fans know they lost at home to Virginia Tech class Saturday. And that used to be a monumental deal. Jesse, if we pulled the public, how many of them do you think are just aware that Clemson lost at home last week? I think for everyone who is aware, another one wouldn't be. Can you imagine going back 10 years and Clemson loses a home game in prime time? It's just not a big deal anymore. And he's, there are no indications that suggests he has any regrets about how he's handled things. If he does harbor those regrets, he is not verbalizing them. There have been a lot of reports over there that, you know, it's kind of been presented to him. Maybe we need to bring new personnel people in. Maybe we need to shake this up or that up and he's just kind of, no, no, we're not doing that. He's just setting his ways. He is now the victim of his own standard in an era where the old way of doing things can't meet that standard anymore. It's why you got to have appreciation for Kirby Smart. You got to have appreciation for Ryan Day. And I'll tell you this right now. When I look at this situation, it makes me have a lot of appreciation for Nick Sabin. Because Nick Sabin got out because he saw the future. There's no shame in that. I'd have no shame or I would, I would think Davos should have no shame if he looked today and said, you know what? I got my principles. I got my values. I've got my way of doing things. I'm not willing to change them because they are proven. I know they work. And if altering my approach to more closely mirror what some of these other folks do to succeed today is what it takes. I don't want to do it. I'm out. I didn't admire that. That's what Sabin did. I mean, also Nick Sabin was in his early 70s. So that's a big difference. But like, think about the favor Nick Sabin did Alabama. Sabin's last game was not to conclude a seven and five year. His last game was in the semi-finals of the Rose Bowl to go to the national title. So when he hit the exit door, the program was still near the top of the sport. That's a huge blessing and that is not the way the sport normally works. It's normally Joe Paterno hanging around way way too long. Bobby Bowden being around way past his prime. This is different. This is not age-related. This is philosophy-related. But Davo, if in his current form, has hung around well past his time. But I don't think they're going to fire him. It is certainly because of that buyout. But that buyout's a huge deal. Like, you can tell yourself all you want. Well, the only reason he's still here is because of the buyouts too steep. Yep. Like, I don't think that's a mystery. I think everyone understands that. I could always be wrong. Someone could come in the room up there and single-handedly say, I'll fit the bill for this buyout. Okay. I've always said, like, it's very hard for me to shout from the rooftops. Someone else needs to pay all this money for this buyout because I wouldn't do it if I were a trillionaire. I wouldn't be paying guys that much money not to work. Now, I like to think that if I had that much money and I had that much influence over an athletic department, we never would have gotten ourselves shackled to a buyout like that to begin with, but I digress. They're watching us in Somerville, South Carolina. Somerville, South Carolina. St. Louis, Missouri. Ronald Washington, thank you so much. This is an important question coming up here. Everyone lean in. Patrick from cranberry township, Pennsylvania. Just up the road from where Jesse was born. He said, what would be your plan to get college football back on track if you became commissioner? Just one plan. Just one thing. Okay. I would firstly, this is not my thing, but I would firstly put a hold on playoff expansion. Just hold on. We don't have to stop guys. You don't have to stop your precious expansion. But before you expand the playoff, we're going to hit the reverse on conference realignment. The more I look around and the more I look at the complaints and the problems and the imbalances and flaws in this sport, the more I realize 95% of this stuff can just be traced back to conference realignment and the motivations behind conference realignment. Radical realignment is the root of most of my issues with college football. Think about the SEC whining about how tough their schedules are. The same SEC that aggressively went and gobbled up Texas and Oklahoma. They're now suddenly shot. They do the schedules are tougher. They also voluntarily went to nine league games, but that's neither here nor there. Also teams playing conference games three time zones away. Just totally insane. That doesn't exist without conference realignment. This vast strength of schedule disparity where we have to sit there and say, hmm, how will the committee judge a three loss SEC team against a one loss big 12 team? Why does that conversation even exist? It exists because the strength of schedule slash record in the SEC theoretically is very disproportionate to that of a big 12 team. But why is that? It's because of radical conference realignment. Regionality gone. I don't I don't even truthfully know what the purpose of a conference is. Now I'm moving forward. Regionality's gone. They pissed on half the rivalries in the sport. Some of them don't even get played anymore. You broke the pack 12 entirely. It's just not even there in its former form. The ACC is quickly in route to suffering that same fate. Even within conferences, there are such schedule imbalances that you don't even get a true read on how good a team is. Do you realize if Penn State had a pulse this year, they would be in the thick of this playoff conversation and you'd be looking at them saying, hold up, they haven't played Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan. They play Michigan. They didn't play Indiana. How did they even get this draw? They got the draw because your conferences are too big because everybody expanded. Here's my dream scenario. Now if you're telling me on the commissioner, I assume I have the power to do pretty much anything I want to do. The first thing I would do is I would have no league with more than 10 teams in it. Firstly, so everyone in the league can play everyone else in the league. That way I get a true conference champ and I get a true read on the hierarchy of that conference so I would have true standings. I would have true champs. Also,
So I'd have a pack 10, like the concept of West Coast football would mean something. The concept of Southern football of Midwestern football, the true nature of conferences being territorial and regional, that would mean something again. And then I'd centralized the scheduling mechanism. All of you are going to play everyone in your conference. So every one of you are playing nine league games and then as far as the other three games go, you know, since you're getting paid so much money and media rights, you're forfeiting the right to make your own schedule. I am done with watching weekends like this pop up or weekends like the opening weekend we just had. I couldn't care less what coaches say about it. I couldn't care less how scared you are of losing games. You get paid eight figures in some cases. Just deal with it. And if you don't like it, move on, there's no shortage of guys who want to be head coaches at this level and who are like frothing at the mouth to prove themselves. So I don't care if you're scared, if you're scared, move on. But I am going to schedule aggressively and we're going to have teams play aggressive schedules or we're going to have teams play at least viable schedules. And at that point, I would love to rework media rights. I would love to do that, but it's one thing at a time though. But other networks would have to step up too. ESPN has been ultra aggressive in bidding on stuff and it pisses people off sometimes. But like, guys, I don't know if you if you understand, other folks have to step up to the table. Like other folks have to open up the wallet too. You can't get mad because one entity goes above and beyond and how much they value the sport and how much they're willing to spend on it. I'd love for there to be three or four other networks or whatever we want to call Amazon, what entities. I'd love for there to be that much money at the table for college football because it would let me execute a college football media rights deal and it would help me do the same with the playoffs. In my perfect world, that's what our sport would look like. Our sport would be such that you'd have SEC games on Fox and you'd have big 10 games on ESPN and ABC and everyone would broadcast everything much like the NFL does. Not more importantly, what that accomplishes is everyone's invested in promoting college football as a whole. Instead of the rabbit hole that you go down and these like silos that you work yourself into where Fox is promoting the big 10 disproportionately ESPNs promoting the SEC disproportionately, it just doesn't serve the greater good of the sport long term. But man, a lot of it ties back to conference realignment and if you want to sit there and you want to say, hey, you know what the impetus was for that TV networks drove a lot of that realignment. I know. Yeah. I'm not. It's not like I issued a get out of jail free card. I didn't throw immunity cards at him. Yes. Yes. All of that. I would love to address. I'd also love to address that a lot of you want to go to games this weekend. You haven't bought tickets yet, though. And I understand the dilemma, but it's not a dilemma. Just go to SeatGeek, pick out whichever tickets you want, parking passes, what have you. Right before you hit checkout, there's a promo code box, enter Pate 10 P A T E one zero in the promo code box. That'll get you 10% off any order up to $200. That'll get you $20 off any order above $200. There you go. Pate 10. It's that simple. We like Jane Fonda, George Michael, Richard Pryor. I'm Jacquie's Peace Thomas, and on this season of the Black Lit Podcast, we're outside asking some of the custodians of our stories, teachers, and our modern day writers. Why? They don't want a whole bunch of little elevators, smack 'em access and whartin' with the kings running around. So is the war on literacy and affirmation or our ability to connect? Well, people can know how sexy reading is, and how fun they can be, and not always associated with education. They can be in a state, they can be entertainment. Listen to Black Lit from the Black Effect Podcast Network on our I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. We move on. Allegations. I have to address an allegation. Indie Irish, no clue who he pulls for, from Cleveland, said, "Why do you selectively attack Notre Dame's schedule in ranking? How about Georgia and Indiana? Georgia has one good win, but they also lost at home to an unranked team. Why are you okay with Indiana at four, but not Notre Dame at five? Who is Indiana beaten? Show consistency. Notre Dame plays 1-8-19-25. Let's break this down bit by bit. Number one, what is it I said specifically? We were trying to figure this out earlier. We don't even know what this is in response to. I did say earlier in the week that I thought Notre Dame was ranked too high in the AP. I assume that's what he's talking about. Well they are ranked too high in the AP. To the second point, how about Georgia? Well there's a big difference here. Georgia went on the road and played a premier opponent and beat them in their own building. You went on the road and got beaten in someone else's building. And elsewhere, I think that it's okay to value that win over Alabama on the road even with the loss to Auburn baked in and ranked Georgia as high as they are. I'm okay with that. I'm okay with Indiana. You said who is Indiana played? Well they went to Nebraska and won. They have also beaten Northwestern. That's a top 20 team right now. So that's who they've played. To the third point here, Notre Dame plays number one, number eight, number 19, and number 25. Well here's the problem with that. They haven't played number one yet. That's in the future. They haven't played number 19. They did play number eight and got beat by them and number 25, yes, valid win. So are you asking me to proactively give Notre Dame credit for games they haven't played yet? I don't even know if they'll win the games. So what is it you're asking me to do here? Sometimes, Jesse, I think people hear what they think I said.
And here is the great irony of it all. If you were watching the show earlier, I'm the one sitting here fighting for Notre Dame's legitimacy. I got him power rated number two in the country. I think they're a very solid team. I think they're one of the three or four best teams in the country. However, that's not how teams should be ranked. I thought Notre Dame would go to bring him young and win, for example, but I was wrong. So if I was wrong about that, why should I be going off how good I think a team is when it comes to ranking them? We shouldn't. I shouldn't. I should be going off a resume. Now, if you want to come and you want to say, I think Notre Dame's strength of schedule is better than people thought it would be in the preseason and people aren't realizing in real time how much more quality has been added to Notre Dame's schedule, I agree with you. I do agree the Wisconsin game. I said, Jess, you remember we did a whole segment on this. I said at the time, I think Notre Dame is going to house Wisconsin and Wisconsin is going to go on to be much better than people think. And down the road, Notre Dame will get more credit for that game than it'll look like they're getting. No one wants to pull that sound bite though. Voila, there you go. Do you deserve more credit for beating North Carolina than you were initially given? Yes, not a ton, but more. SMU, people did not look at that SMU game in the preseason and talk about it. They said it's a two game season. If SMU continues to win, guys, it is not just a two game season. So yes, some of this is in the future. Of course, you got the Miami game. I'm fine with all that. But you also, you can't be blindly talking that way. If we're going to apply who Notre Dame's gonna play, well, then that same context, don't I get to start giving Georgia credit for playing Ole Miss even though they haven't played him yet? Like that doesn't make any sense. So I'm not hating on Notre Dame. I'm not bashing them. I just think they're ranked a little too high for now. Next up, lively mailbag tonight, very lively mailbag. Oh boy. Alexander from Port Clinton, Ohio said, "Are you concerned how badly this kid is clocking you? "Incredible stuff down to the cadence." So, as some of you may have become aware, there is an impersonator amongst us. And I'm told new footage has surfaced from 1929. Roll it Bradley, let's see it. Some people are saying this economy is about to crash. I'm saying you guys are making this much harder than it needs to be, immunity. We are jam packed here, high atop, and apprehensive Nashville, Tennessee on this Monday, October 28th, the year of our Lord, 1929. So let's talk about it. Some people out there are rushing to their local stockbroker to cash out their life savings just at the mere mention of a bit of a bearish trend in the market. Now, this all likely originates from a report put out by Pete Nicos of on three this morning, saying that the Dow is down 13% today with a possibility of getting much worse. Many people expect me as engagement bait paint to jump on the train and tell you that panic is justified. But before we freak out, let's hear from our dear friend, the model, which, as we all know, is as reliable as a ram truck. Based on the past half decade of dominance, this model is seeing that there is a good likelihood that this is just a temporary downturn and everything will regress back to the norm within the week. Basically, the model is saying that this price drop may be a good time to buy and I tend to agree. Jesse, Jesse's already hitting the panic button. He's freaking out back there. But something you should know about the model, its opinions, much like my own. They tend to move on a plate like honey, not water. Now, when you tip a plate over, most opinions, they tend to rush all over the place and that tends to lead to overreactions, panics, freakouts when they're not necessarily warranted. But when your opinions move like honey, little unexpected tips don't change the opinion all that much. That doesn't mean we're stuck in our ways though. It just means that given enough time, the honey, it will fall off the plate. We just need to see enough evidence first. So don't be surprised when the JP poll still has the NASDAQ rated pretty highly. After all, these are power ratings and not rankings. My recommendation is let's batten down the hatches, give it a few weeks and then let's react appropriately. The stock market has never crashed and not come back up before. However, we must remember, as Mima always said, just because something has not happened, doesn't mean it cannot happen. I mean, who knows, this could be an absolute splattering. They are joining us from Dawsonville, Georgia, Park City, Utah, and New York City, New York. Oh, just by the way, I found my chapstick. - Hey, for real, if anyone's seen my chapstick, I'd really appreciate it. 'Cause it's been 48 hours and we don't have a whiff of any kind of tip or lead on where the chapstick is. I don't have a strategy for this. People keep asking, what are you gonna do about it? I don't have a strategy. I don't know if it's a bad thing. I don't know if it's a good thing. Just is what it is. We're gonna leave it at that for now. Fandall, who he has yet to plug, the exclusive odds provider of the show. I'm about to throw a number at you. You're gonna think this is fake, but it's not. So, you know, once a week, usually on Tuesday, I promote the Pickham contest that we do on Fandall. Now, I remember back in the day, I would always see these contests on the back of the cereal box and I never entered them. And I always wondered, do people really win that stuff? 'Cause like, I just, I never, I never mailed it off. I never entered. And I imagine there are a lot of people out there that hear me promote this Pickham contest every week. But they're like, I mean, do people really win that? Okay, well, we had 217,000 entries, which is free, by the way, in the Pickham contest. Literally, all you have to do is go to Fandall and pick the 10 games. It's free. Jesse, 39 people out of the 217,000 went 10 for 10. They each won 12,800 dollars in bonus bets. For taking 30 seconds to pick 10 games, it's free. It's free, it's free. All you gotta do is go there. If you don't have an account, Fandall.com/joshpate, it's free. People who don't even watch the show should be going and doing this. Do you know what it must be like to be one of those 39 people and to wake up the next morning and realize, I went 10 for 10 and there's just nearly 13,000 extra dollars in your account.
