Week 9 Matchups + Maximum Kubes! - Fantasy Football Podcast for 11/6
50m 20s
The Fantasy Footballers podcast breaks down key NFL matchups, injuries, and fantasy strategy, focusing on the Jacksonville vs. Ravens game where the Ravens’ offensive collapse and weather led to a 33-10 loss, underscoring the importance of quarterback and defensive depth. The trade of Jacoby Brissett to Arizona is highlighted as a strategic win, potentially boosting the Ravens’ playoff chances. Injury updates are central, including Harold Fannin’s groin injury, Cam Scadaboo’s absence, and Mike Evans’ expected absence, impacting wide receiver and quarterback matchups. The Chargers vs. Houston game is analyzed as a high-risk scenario due to the Chargers’ elite defense and poor offense, making it a tough pick. The Packers emerge as a strong fantasy team with Drake May’s consistent performance and Jordan Love’s high projection at 274.5 points. DeMario Douglas is considered a volatile but valuable play, especially with Hunter Henry out. The fantasy face-off features detailed player selections, with notable picks like Bucky Irving, Jordan Love, and Matthew Golden, emphasizing scoring potential and matchup advantages. The episode concludes with a reminder of ongoing injury reports, the importance of drafting around volume and matchups, and the value of tracking real-time updates. Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore,
and Mike Wright.
Hey, welcome in.
Hey.
All right.
Hey is for horses.
Lots going on.
Lots of going on.
Welcome into the show.
The Fantasy Footballers, Mike Wright, Andy Holloway, and a cardboard bear.
Coming at you Friday, November 6th.
More matchups to talk about.
NFL news breaking.
We got some moments to go.
It's a Foot Clan Friday.
We had a Thursday night game.
And sometimes you look at. We had a game, Mike.
We broke this game down on Wednesday in the Thursday night preview episode.
And sometimes you do it, and then the game just. It doesn't. It just takes a different turn.
And it doesn't look at all like you thought the game was going to go.
I don't know if I remember a game that has gone more exactly like we thought it was going to go
than the 33-10 drubbing, the hapless drubbing of the Ravens.
Jacksonville, we talked about, do you start Trevor Lawrence?
We talked about the fact that there was a good possibility the defense, which had two interceptions,
and the running game, which had two touchdowns, might cap the upside of Trevor Lawrence.
He ends up 242-1.
That's. You'd rather. Like, if you knew that going into a week, you'd rather take another option.
Of course.
And it was also very rainy.
Yes, it was.
Very soggy.
Yeah, you had like a fumble by Trevor. Hunter.
By Hunter.
And the two picks, the weather didn't help.
We also talked about, would you bench Zay Flowers, who was 3-for-6, Mike?
This was the future.
This is the biggest takeaway of this game, was watching this and yet again being so grateful
that they traded for Jacoby Brissett, because this would have. This was a preview of your future.
Yes.
If that didn't happen.
We got compensation updates this morning.
The Cardinals got a 4-5 swap.
Mm-hmm.
And an outright 7 for Jacoby Brissett, which Mike was willing to accept just bus or airfare.
Yes.
To get him out of the building.
Yeah, so for Arizona, it's fantastic.
For the Ravens, you had to do something.
It's a chance.
If you didn't move for a quarterback, you're raising the white flag saying, we give up
for next year.
And now it's like, hey, what if Jacoby wins some. Because the defense forever. For how bad the offense was for Baltimore, in the first half, the defense was holding
on.
They're a decent defensive unit.
And if you can get something from the offense, and you can just sneak out a few wins here
or there. Especially some divisional wins.
Then you get into this range of, does Lamar actually come back?
Yeah.
And the way the Ravens are looking at this is, we're going to make the playoffs.
Our pick in the fourth round is going to be in the late 20s.
And Arizona's going to be, what, a top three pick?
So we moved back.
15 spots.
Yeah.
Something like that.
10 spots?
That's the hope.
I mean, yeah.
So I think it works for everybody.
If you played Derrick Henry, it was 17 for 57, no touchdowns.
You had asked whether I thought they'd go over 14 with him.
I thought they would.
I think you have to in this situation.
He'll get a lot of carries.
The touchdown was Justice Hill late in the game, a 65-yarder.
If you started Parker Washington, congrats on the one play.
He was 2 for 61.
Everybody else was no good.
And then the leading rusher on this team was Amir Abdullah, 7 for 30.
I mean, Basial Tootin, 12 for 29.
Chris Rodriguez, 10 for 19.
Both those guys scored.
You were bailed out.
And, you know, nobody won on Thursday night.
Let's put it that way.
No, nobody.
You might have lost if you played Derrick Henry and Flowers,
but you didn't win.
So there you go.
It was how we thought it might go.
It's unfortunate.
The Ravens just weren't going to be competitive.
Mike was like, shout out to the Ravens fans.
They go out.
They go out.
You have to sit in the rain knowing you have no chance to win the game.
I would not have been there.
So it is Friday.
Well, every Friday we want to say thank you to the supporters of this podcast
over at JoinTheFoot.com, and we give a $100 gift card away to fantasy champs.
Today's winner, Dustin Dean, 4.
Dustin Dean, 4 from the Foot Clan.
Congratulations.
Your gift card is in the mail.
I mean, digital mail.
Yeah, e-mail.
All right.
They're paper coupons.
They're on the way.
All right.
Let's talk news.
News and notes from around the league.
Okay.
Some injury updates and then a little bit of news.
We already talked about the Jacoby Brissett trade finalization.
Brian Robinson, Jr. ruled out again for the Falcons.
Garrett Wilson, out this week.
It was inevitable.
Brees Hall, upgraded to full.
Brees Hall and Braylon Allen going to share time.
Right now, lay of the land, league of record.
There's a lot of outcomes that can still happen.
The trade deadline is not over.
Mike won a championship last year, and I'm going to be really frank with you.
Foot Clan here.
I don't want him to win again. I have no
interest in that. Al, thoughts?
I'm in complete agreeance.
Agreeance. See, this is the vocabulary
problem we have.
I don't think agreeance is a word.
I want you to audit that.
Agreement might have worked. We'll let Kyle vote.
You have a miscellany
of new words to look into.
Oh, it is! Shoot!
Did he use it correctly, Kyle?
We are in agreeance.
Okay.
I stand 100% corrected.
Thank you.
You're a genius.
Thank you.
Harvard was it?
I think you said a word that you misspoke, and then it turned out to be a real word.
Oh, like an accidental Scrabble play?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Hmm.
It is classified as rare.
According to Reddit?
It is rare, archaic, or non-standard.
You did not mean to say that word.
That's not a real word.
I did mean to say that word.
Because you're archaic and rare?
No.
I digress.
I digress.
But my point was, I don't want Mike to win.
That's like you banked it in.
You banked in a three.
Yeah, and you didn't call it.
You guys are idiots.
Facts.
Facts.
Let me get back to my point.
My point was that I don't want Mike to win.
One of Mike's situations is he is the Braylon Allen manager.
So a Brees Hall trade equals a great start to the rest of the season.
So, so far, that's not happening.
No, and I don't think it will.
I'm one thumb up.
Number two is he's the Jonathan Taylor manager.
And he wants him to go not to Indianapolis, right?
He wants him to leave.
To be fair, I want him, I think what the Colts are doing is stupid
that they're going to play him this weekend.
My fantasy team approves.
You need him on the field.
Against the Dallas Cowboys?
Well, my nightmare scenario was Jonathan Taylor in Minnesota
and Braylon Allen.
And Mike singing songs through the office with no pants on.
Yeah.
So that hasn't happened yet, which Mike, I'm sorry.
But Brees Hall is going to play Harold Fannin.
All right.
Red alert here.
Yes.
Harold Fannin was added to the injury report with a groin injury.
I've already sent a note to Al Borland.
I canceled our bet.
I moved Tucker Kraft back into my lineup and I'm officially canceling
Harold Fannin as a start of the week.
Canceled.
Canceled start of the week.
This was unfortunate.
A late injury report.
Report addition with a groin injury.
Not good.
And he was recovering from a groin core muscle surgery in the offseason.
So I don't like, I don't like hearing any of that.
No.
Giants updates.
Cam Scadaboo did not practice.
It's looking highly, highly unlikely.
We've adjusted our rankings.
He's probably not playing, which means Devin Singletary will be alone.
I mean, they got to bring somebody up.
Yeah.
A practice squad guy.
Like you can't just have your only draft.
Dressed running back be Devin.
Let's see.
We got a, hold on.
I want this chart up on the back wall.
Not a chance.
Um, the historical frequency of the word agreeance.
It, it peaked in 1770.
Yeah.
It started dropping down 1850.
It was still being used quite a bit.
It really hit its basement in 1910 where almost nobody on earth used it.
And then it has gone up since 1910, especially used by producers.
I'm adding.
Oh, there it is.
There's the chart.
The usage of the word agreeance.
Did that just get updated?
Like in real time?
That was a real time when he said it out loud, that front part of the chart popped up a little
bit from nothing to that one time.
Okay.
So I apologize for not knowing who this player is, but the running back I'm seeing on the
giant step chart, Greg, the Rosie.
Of course.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Everyone knows that.
So how about this?
Mike Malik neighbors.
did not practice on Thursday
due to
a knee hmm don't love that i am not in agreeance with that report is it i do not like is it the
reconstructed one i would love to have uh matthew batts or kyle way in here get this man some i
find out a little bit more for us because we just got this information get the swelling down uh on
the note but no details um saquon upgraded to a limited they're managing him with the hamstring
and backhoe play davante smith and don tavian wick still not practicing this team is host yeah
joe milton good luck we might talk about him later oh oh nice i don't even know which direction i
know because his projections are not very strong no you'll you'll be entertained all right my uh
my selection there um neighbors did say he'll be good that is from the source right which is not
the most reliable of i would like that from a doctor
uh the vikings are starting carson wentz monday night against the bills kyler is week to week
with the hamstring kyler is uh carson wentz production with his hamstring right yeah
depending on how it goes a.j brown hunter henry travion henderson we did get an we did we got an
update on the henderson situation which is he put out a public statement he has been experiencing
quote unexplained neurological symptoms unquote from an unusual medical emergency it's not great
he says testing has been put in place for a week and a half and a half and a half and a half and a half
he says testing has been positive i read the full presser it it detailed that the neurological
symptoms were impacting some things like coordination and so you know prayers up for
travo yeah it's weird and uh no a.j brown this looks hunter henry it seems unlikely so um yeah
neighbors is neighbors is going to play on sunday he should cmc returned to a limited practice with
the hamstring i imagine he was going to play and then we got an upgrade for emeka abuka full practice
he will now compete i have i'm reporting this he will compete for one of the six potential
completions made by baker mayfield this week you're only giving him six six is high mike
compared to last week i mean it would be an infinite it would be more than six but um
i know and the the return of abuka helps the completions it's just um we'll talk about that
game later too mike we'll talk about that game okay wow a lot of teasing going on yeah i'm i'm
gonna send us to an early break here so we don't have any breaks in the forecast and then we'll uh
we'll break down some matchups
fantasy forecast presented by prize picks
okie dokie yesterday we covered bangles falcons cowboys colts jets chiefs lions dolphins
browns saints giants eagles rams commanders broncos panthers so if you want to hear those
breakdowns as yesterday click on yesterday's episode today we have six more matchups remaining
we also have a fantasy face-off segment with a delightful shame upcoming delightful because it
is not me and it's also not the bear the bear is not getting shamed today although at some point
i would like to do that's pretty selfish i would like to do that uh
oh my god
you don't always pick the right time but that was that was good that was the right time
houston's two and five somehow and uh the chargers are oh and seven that's where we're starting
games in los angeles vegas line houston minus six
no no andy's almost upset of the week
go chargers
i haven't had one of those in a couple weeks right
no i was gonna point that out yesterday yeah i uh those that want to know they'll be like you
didn't do an almost upset if it doesn't hit me in the middle of the show i don't do it
this is not a this is not some kind of you know this is real life this is not some kind of joke
chargers it's not like the chargers okay uh houston minus six over under 40 am i remembering
right they were the sixth highest odds for super bowl for the super bowl entering the season what
about now i don't think they're at six anymore i think you can get really really good odds i think
the book is like sure give us your money these guys suck yeah ten and a half wins was their window
we can't we can't linger there we're talking about an almost upset here guys 40.5 on the over under
okay so the headline here
fantasy points might be harder to come by overall 17 implied points for the chargers their offense
can't score houston their defense can't stop people right now coming off the buy chargers at home
uh we have a stat from true media the chargers offense is 27 drives without a touchdown is the
longest streak since the dolphins 30 drives in 2024 under
mike mcdaniel they stink so yeah this is a a must win game for houston as well you you made
the trade for marvin harrison you lose last week to you know or sorry two weeks ago and
you're sitting two and five so this division's getting away from you
um justin herbert has not finished inside the top 20 there are rumors of hampton getting more
touches according to jim harbaugh they want to go away from a three-man rotation
that is something i'm paying attention to that would be great news at least for fantasy football
and maybe i don't know maybe for the chargers maybe what they need to do is to
commit to one guy is hampton good enough i don't know lad mcconkey has done nothing he has been
hurt all year long and the chargers suck how dare you he almost scored he did almost on a tipped
gross listen this this uh almost upset is
i think this game will be disgusting so i would play no chargers i would play two texans i would
play woody marks with all the work yeah and i'd play nico collins oh really you're out on stroud
i am out on stroud because i think the chargers are going to win the game
i think that uh the matchup is you know the chargers defense number three in the league
in adjusted fantasy points
given up to quarterbacks their defense has been good their offense has been so abysmal
that they can't compete so i'm actually out on stroud okay um are you fine with him yeah
as a as a low-end qb1 starter sure okay uh no i'm not worrying about marvin harrison jr
david montgomery's not going to play do you have any other like would you play hampton
in a certain situation yeah would you flex hampton or lad in the same game
oh that's a like you're in a league where like they make you start a church if i had to start
one of them i would play lad because the the the wow kyle has that exact decision hampton or lad
where are you going with that i was gonna say i would play i'm gonna play hampton but what are
you gonna do kyle i'm gonna play lad and hate myself oh well you would what if you played
hampton that's a that's a trap yeah you're gonna hate yourself no matter what so yeah with hampton
i'll hate myself more so okay yeah
the way i look at it is the texans defense at least on this year they are giving up more points
to the wide receiver position not that they're stopping running backs sure but 30th uh schedule
adjusted against the wide receiver position so they are giving up an extra five points above
average to the wide receiver position and i believe that lad mcconkey's a good football player
is hampton a good football player i still don't know and i i agree with you that lad is a good
right now he's a hundred percent that's my only concern uh the green bay packers at five and three
oh thank goodness we get to leave that game take on the five and three new england patriots this
is exciting al you get to see your packers travel to new england they're playing good football
vegas line new england minus three over under 44 and a half um since week four new england has the
scored the most points in the nfl and drake may as the qb1
don't look at me when you say i'm sorry uh green bay leads the nfl and offensive epa fifth and
explosive passes yeah yeah don't look at you because you traded the qb1 away no i didn't
well he did he traded him to the wire just cold dropped him yeah oh that's right you you rage
dropped him and then he he's been the qb1 since the moment you dropped him um the the defense for
green bay has looked better and better as the season's gone on they're they're actually playing
really well this is the first time i've seen him play in the nfl and drake may as the qb1
green bay has played new england since 2018 that was a brady rogers matchup um so here we go
prize picks projection for i heard the name brady rogers and i'm like who's that who is that
uh good old brady rogers yeah you know the old punk was this like 1930 that's right he was a
punk kicker um 274.5 that's the prize picks projection for jordan love cool only burrow
is higher only burrow is higher this week yeah i had seen that and i was like man
so love with that projection with the way their offense has been playing with the big play
potential of golden and watson sure yeah i mean watson and goldner every week starts right they
are they are it a reminder watson does have a broken rib
He, I'm sure, he'll get the magic sauce that'll alleviate some of the pain.
But guys don't play as well with Proven Red.
That's one ibuprofen.
That's all they take.
That's what he takes, yeah.
He's tough.
Tucker Kraft since week four, 11 fancy points a game, 5 for 49.
Submerge me.
In ibuprofen?
No.
Oh, okay.
No, the good stuff.
Oh, the good stuff.
I don't want to feel anything from my neck down.
I'm just going to be out looking like rubber bands.
Doctor, do the epidural.
Do the epidural.
You know how cartoons used to look?
Yes, yes, yes.
That would be me.
You have no feeling anywhere?
If I had to play in the NFL, I would prefer no feeling before I started playing.
Jacobs, Mike, where are you with the 2.3 yards per carry Josh Jacobs who finds his way into the end zone?
My thoughts on Josh Jacobs are well documented at this point.
You're going to hope for a touchdown.
This one's even worse because the Patriots are currently third in adjusted points.
To the running back position as in the third worst matchup.
So, if he falls into the end zone like he did last week, you'll be happy.
If he doesn't, you will get 30 to 40 yards.
So, Matthew Golden right now, third most targets among all wide receivers in football.
First in air yards, first in deep targets.
It's such an interesting thing to hear.
Christian Watson's one of my my guys.
Been amazing.
Yeah, he's been one of the best picks.
In all of fantasy football.
Slightly better than Ladd.
To get a player who's putting up points like he did in the fifth, sixth round.
That's league winning stuff.
Somehow his teammates is a better pick.
Yes.
Due to him going in the double digit rounds.
Wow.
Just value.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, good work Packers.
All right.
Drake May.
The past five weeks.
QB 1, 1, 3, 2, and 6.
He has been pressured.
He's been pressured more than any quarterback and has overcome it.
I think this is going to be a fun game.
Is Jordan Love like a must play for you?
I know the price fix projection is insane.
We're in a world now where like, you know, we have expectations.
I mean, like Lamar is hurt.
He's not a part of the equation anymore.
Trevor Lawrence, we didn't love this week.
Yeah, I think Jordan Love is a must start among the starters.
So, who was the other guy?
Oh, Stroud.
So, you're.
Oh, big time.
Big Uter.
Yeah, I'll take that 274 points.
I think this one has more potential.
The defense is not being able to do as much to stop the offenses.
Ramondre.
He's going to get everything.
Trayvon will not play.
Corey Kiner stole his stash.
A.J.
Brown will not be out there.
DeMario Douglas.
Let me tell you this.
Top 10 wide receiver in three of four weeks.
What happened the one week I played him?
That would be the one of four weeks that he did nothing.
But with Hunter Henry likely to be hurt or out.
I mean, out or limited.
Yes.
I mean.
That does help.
I think DeMario Douglas is an actually great play.
I'm okay playing him.
If I say that, he might not be good.
The problem is he's Pop Douglas.
And he's a slot wide receiver who is not getting volume.
He's a slot wide receiver that the offense does not run through.
Correct.
This week or this past week was three catches.
He just happened to rip off a 48-yard reception and a touchdown.
Because the week before that was three receptions for 26.
I think you're playing a dangerous game.
With Hunter Henry out, it makes it a bit safer.
Would you play him over your start of the week, Caleb Douglas?
No.
I would not.
Would you play him over Keenan Allen?
Probably not.
No.
Would you play him over Ladd?
I'm okay with that move, yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
I don't think.
I mean, if you really are desperate and you need an emergency start at tight end,
Eli Raridon should do some stuff this week.
He's normally part of the team.
He's going to play the offense four targets, four targets, three targets, five targets.
That's with Hunter Henry.
I think he's my sneaky snart, if we want to bring that back.
Someone thought I said that the other day on the show.
Oh, again?
They remember the early days, and they thought they heard me say that.
So, my sneaky snart is Eli Raridon.
I don't.
I mean, the matchup is not great.
Packers, second on the year in totality, sixth in schedule adjusted.
Are you going to force me?
Are you going to force me to Raridon touchdown guarantee?
Because I will not do that.
Okay.
I will not.
I mean, I'll try to force you.
No matter what you do, I won't.
Because I like when you say stuff and it's dumb.
But he might score.
The Raiders at four and four are taking on the six and one San Francisco 49ers.
49ers, Mike, 10-point favorites.
Over under a delicious, majestic 51.5.
It's good.
It's great.
This will work.
It's great.
The Raiders have been a party.
Like, Jason's famous, I want this game.
When the Raiders play, it works out.
They've hit the over, all the Raiders games, the last six times.
So, over 51.5, you're going to be very happy for fantasy.
But happy with who, Mike?
Are you going to be happy with Jenty?
Right now, the. Oh, my gosh.
I'm looking at the projections, the prize picks projections.
28.5 rushing yards.
That means that Mike Washington is higher.
That means Kalen Black is higher.
Where things could go right for Jenty,
is last week, let's say they used that as the soft benching, the wake-up call.
But also, Jenty is being used as a wide receiver out of the backfield.
And San Francisco is the team that people are targeting their running back more on average
against the 49ers over every other team.
So, I'm still fine.
I'm still fine playing Jenty.
Even if you're like, he's not going to get carries.
He might not.
But I'm still okay playing him in this matchup because of receptions.
Oh, this nickname's going to stick.
Start-sit question for Jenty, Mike.
As Kyle calls Jenty, Fancy R.J. Harvey.
Yeah.
Or Algier.
So, Fancy R.J. Harvey, a.k.a. Ashton Jenty.
I would. Or Tyler Algier.
I'd play the Fancy boy.
Okay.
I don't want to play Algier.
I don't want to play Algier against the Seahawks.
I will be watching to see the distribution of work
and whether Mike Washington Jr. gets a lot of work again.
Trey Tucker goosed last week.
He is a dart throw that can work out.
Brock Bowers is a player that always works out.
Yeah.
This matchup, I'd play him even with the lack of weapons.
If you turn over to the 49er side, you have Brock Purdy who's playing great.
But it's slowed down.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Mike Evans' injury.
Mike Evans' injury has slowed it down.
Mike Evans being out is devastating to this offense.
But. This week in particular.
And he's not expected to play.
Debo's not expected to play.
I'm just saying of. You know, we listed like Stroud.
Kurt probably won't play.
I'm going to play Purdy over those guys still.
Yeah.
They have so many injuries.
And if McCaffrey is limited and you see more Kalen Black, which could happen, this is a weird
game where. It is.
I mean, they're 31 point implied point total.
Kyle, is that the highest on the week?
Let me check.
Yeah.
I think that's got to be it.
It's got to be up there.
Oh, it's definitely up there.
So, yeah.
And we get to. Is this we find out who the ultimate Kubes is?
Oh.
Maximum Kubes?
Yeah.
Hmm.
It's probably going to be. Because Clay Kubiak is the OC for the 49ers.
Mm-hmm.
Clint Kubiak's the new head coach for the Raiders.
Yeah.
So, it's a cube off.
It is.
I got to be. You got to be careful here.
I got to workshop that stuff in my head.
George Kittle.
Second most red zone targets among tight ends.
Play him.
Play him a lot.
Play him twice if you can.
Highest of the week, yeah.
All right.
On the implied point total.
So, I mean, that's very good for Kittle.
They'll probably be a. Like, if you had to find. Is it Brandon Cooks?
Is that the, like. Oh, am I trying to find a sneaky guy?
Well, if they have the highest implied point total of the year
and Debo and Evans are going to be out. The week.
The week.
Oh, the week.
I mean. No.
No.
No.
I'm not searching. How are they going to search?
How are they going to score that many points
without a wide receiver?
The thing is, somebody will,
but I'm not going to search after it.
Hmm.
I mean, George Kittle will be great.
I mean, it could be just Kalen Black and McCaffrey.
Okay, the Cardinals.
Mike, three and five Cardinals.
They've rid them. In one week, they've gone from Jacoby being their starter
to Jacoby being their third stringer
to Jacoby being off the team.
So, things are going well.
The Seahawks, four and four.
Seahawks, eight and a half point home favorites
over and under is 39 and a half.
It might be a real tough week for Mr. Gardner Minshew.
I project it to be that way.
So, what do you do with the Cardinals?
Talk to me.
Okay, so, look, Michael Wilson.
Oh, man.
I'll come back to him.
That's like the hardest one.
Couple of broken ribs.
Yeah, McBride is in.
If you spent the money on Tyler Algier this week
for the waiver wire,
you probably play him because you're. If you spent on Algier, you said,
I really need some running back production.
Like, I just. I need someone who's going to be on the field
getting touches.
He will do that.
Do we have any Bam Knight updates?
So, did not practice Wednesday or Thursday.
He's probably out.
He's probably out.
I mean, it's going to be all Algier
and it's going to be a lot of running game
because I don't think. I mean, it's. So, I would. It's not. It's just volume.
It's like Henry last night.
Not unlike Derrick Henry.
Yes.
of last night.
where 17 for 57 maybe no touchdown you don't want to do it but like you might be forced into it
mike mcdonald has not lost to arizona they're 5-0 against the cardinals they're at home their
defense is really just it's going to be way too difficult for arizona but so michael wilson oh
yeah let's so you're reading these quotes uh have you seen have you seen these read them for the
people i'm ecstatic that we won but physically i'm not too good pain is temporary glory is forever
i'll take the rib pain for a win the organization's paying me a lot of money so if i can
muster up the strength to go play at 60 i'm going to you're going to need about 300 michael wilson
to get get points in this game i'd try to set him is that is that good no i did i read that as
that was a wild ride yes but i think dog that's dog yeah yeah yeah but that's scary yes i would
not play michael wilson this week i'd play mcbride
yeah i'd play algier if i'm in a pinch and need need some opportunities because he could score
yeah i guess i am trying to but i mean seattle's defense 37 straight games without 100 yard rusher
you're not going to have the big breakaway dallas cowboy run from algier so i i am i'm trying to
avoid cardinal the cardinals are implied point told do you know what it is uh 15 yeah it's not
great so michael wilson or pop douglas pop okay so then you're not going to say a name i don't say
over michael wilson this week devon bailey against cleveland
bailey no i don't know about that i don't know about that one i'm probably bailey
i mean there's no tyson back right i mean yeah probably bailey yeah we have we have not heard
if tyson's look it's tough because because wilson will get if he plays he's going to get all i'll
stick with wilson i'll stick with wilson he'll get all the targets it's just you know this is
the number one team in the nfl against the wide receiver position and number two against quarter
back mckay lemon with bazooka joe against the giants yeah just give me mckay okay um drew lock's
gonna start for the seattle sea chickens got him got him well they're four and four i can get them
right now they're gonna win though what do you do at the running back position did darian price
zach charbonnet don't love it price is projected with way more yards than charbonnet look jadarian
price led the backfield last week with a total of 10 carrybacks
uh it was not efficient but jadarian does have the juice compared to charbonnet
do we i don't remember what happened in the red zone they took the well there was a halani snap
here there but they took the player that was producing and ran well in emmanuel wilson yes
and they did not give him an offensive snap and they gave it all to price and to charbonnet
so that's fun play jsn play no one else in the wide receiver or tight end room for seattle
are you playing jsn
any of these running backs like it should be well you're gonna be you're gonna whoa i'm shocked to
see this number the cardinals are sixth and adjusted points to the running back position
yeah i didn't know it was i mean they're a team that's so bad that receivers and quarterbacks
score all the points on them i didn't realize i don't like the fact that you know it's going to
be two to three guys snap wise yeah and i'd love to say like if i knew charbonnet was 100 i'd be
like just play charbonnet he'll probably get red zone opportunities but it could be holani
i think price is the one to play if you're gonna play one i agree but i don't love it no no let's
talk about the run first tampa bay buccaneers they're three and five taking on the chicago
bears who are on a roll they're six and two this is a really fun interesting game i think this is
fun we get another chicago in prime time i'm all for it yes they are it's a fun prime time team
they are yes exactly they're going to give you a show and it's another let's
see can the offense keep beating up on really strong defenses yeah chicago minus six over
under is 47 and a half this is the top two rushing teams in the nfl through eight weeks
tampa bay is number one bears are two um rushing first downs tampa's number one bears are fourth
bears are number one in rushing touchdowns and the bears lead the league in average time of
possession something that tampa lately has been doing well uh because of the fact that they just
the football they play at a slow pace bucky has been on fire he's been the best fantasy running
back the last four weeks top 10 running back in three or four he's in your lineup no matter what
but it's a push comes to shove situation jeffrey simmons coming in they were already good against
the run it's kind of you know you're going to get the volume and he's a bigger play kind of
running back so one or two big runs can do it but i'm not messing around with kenny gainwell his
his backup and i don't i just don't know what to do with any of the passing games
game in tampa mike i agree the the numbers like the bears right now 28th adjusted against
quarterback so it's like matchup wise it makes sense for baker
but it's been quite a it's been quite a while since we've really seen
baker giving us anything of of value would you play baker or stroud because you were i would
play i would play stroud and i i would not touch baker in any situation like i might go gardener
over here but i would play stroud and i i would not touch baker in any situation like i might go
baker like i just don't like the possibility of you know i don't think they win this game
gardener and baker we need a third we need a third occupation yeah yeah the candlestick maker
oh i see what you're saying a gardener a baker a candlestick maker i don't know
three men in a tub rub-a-dub-dub-dub something like that got it
sorry man these these games are wild are you playing abuka no no no i don't
this is wild yeah i like playing i think bucky's the only player you play i like my players in a
matchup against the bears not anymore but i don't not anymore man yeah we're gonna that's gonna
change i mean the bears are the bears are improving on the defensive side jeffrey simmons is a
difference maker caleb yep yeah you can't bench swift you can't bench caleb you can't probably
can't bench burden right now no you cannot and you should probably play colson loveland well that's
leading the team in target position and you should probably play colson loveland
since week four if you look at the buccaneers yeah fourth against quarterbacks second running
back third against wide receivers and then what's this what's this little guy 19th against the tight
end position you're hoping for some uh yes mr love yes very very much okay monday night football
the buffalo bills at six and one taking on the six and one minnesota vikings without kyler
carson wins getting the start buffalo minus three over under 44 and a half how
do we how are we in a world where we're rooting for it no it's just i know how the starting
quarterback we're you know very frequently in football what is it the the phrase that the backup
is like the most popular guy in the to fans because the starter you get to see if they're
good or not the backup is always hope but we're watching the vikings and we just know we know the
team would be better if they played carson wins and we just know we know the team would be better
yeah i got i remember seeing some people they were really like usually usually those are all
just false hopes of maybe the backup could be better than what we're getting we just we know
well we on an nfl level we we we think we know for sure carson wins is a flawed i'm not and this
is not carson wins is great like i don't kyler has been so bad like it's buffalo's favored by
three on the road to a six and one team that has the number one defense so that should tell you
the confidence level in carson wins from an nfl standpoint is not very good
very high but we are a fantasy football podcast we want to see justin jefferson return to relevance
yes we want to see uh the minnesota offense be something you can count on on a weekly basis
so carson wins he's played two games this year they've won both those games they're a good
football team they have the number one defense in the league kyler being out of this game
is i is a really good thing for for fantasy football because everyone now on the minnesota
vikings
is a really good thing for for fantasy football because everyone now on the minnesota vikings
i think we're in play like every well it's such every major play that's what the matchup is great
every major player though if you had kyler i'd be talking about the run game of you know jones
had more snaps than jordan mason the touches were about equal no one really did anything
and i mean i know the matchup is good but i don't feel great about it but with carson wins
i'm okay putting jordan mason in the lineup okay with aaron jones yeah the one player i have
question for you on it has had the rapport with kyler and that's hawkinson
hawkinson had been mostly an irrelevant player for a year and a half kyler seems to like him
kyler's out he's leading the team in receptions i have jefferson as my start of the week
hawkinson now enters a more mysterious category for me it's still a good matchup but not
like that's the one spot the bills have slowed down a little bit
so like would you go dalton kincaid on the other side of the field over hawkinson is dj moran
he should be yeah then i'd go kincaid what about kyle pitts or hawkinson
pitts against cincinnati i probably pitts the bangles is such a plus matchup for tj hawkinson at
least this year we have week one where kyler was knocked out almost immediately and tj hawkinson
got five targets which that's what he has had the past two weeks with kyler murray so carson
wentz at least threw him the ball he didn't avoid him this is crazy because the uh the buffalo games
all the buffalo games this year have a have averaged 59.1 combined points per game
All the Minnesota games this year have averaged a combined
33.3 points per game
so it's a push comes to shove
the line is 44.5
I hope we get some offense, I hope Carson wins
isn't a disaster
so we'll see, James Cook, Josh Allen
easy plays, to me if
DJ Moore is healthy
I have a hard time not playing him
even though the matchup is tough
so what is Shakir?
is Shakir a fantasy algebra
if DJ Moore is out, I play Shakir
do you just play him regardless?
yeah, I do think
with the pass rush of the Vikings
what Shakir is
he's a release valve
he's a PPR guy
he's had 6 or more targets in 3 or 4 games
in 5 of 8 games
or 7
and so I think Shakir is a
PPR play that's going to get you 10 points
regardless of the
DJ Moore situation
and then Dalton Kincaid, it just depends on the options
you have, with the Fannin injury
with the fact
that
man, it's a tough matchup
I'd be trying to find somebody else than Hawkinson and Kincaid
this week if I'm honest
so like
what level of player here
so
well Brenton Strange already played and wasn't great
Dallas Goddard
against the Giants
with Joe Milton, no
spin the wheel of the Rams
tight ends, no
Okonkwo against
who is Okonkwo
I would think about Chigokonkwo
by the way
we had a fun little update from
the press conference for Nick Sirianni
I just thought I'd share this
in case you want your magic cards
but he was pressed
as to why Tanner McKee he said
was his starter early in the week
for there to be a change to Milton
he implied that he did it on purpose
and his quote was
I'm going to tell you guys what I want to tell you guys. I don't think you understand how the NFL works brother
you tell us stuff
because we buy tickets to the games
bro
and this is an entertainment product
and reporters have a job to do
and you have a job to disclose
I mean I understand some competitive advantage
but Mike always has the magic cards out
that's just
that's a dude that's 2 and 6
yeah your competitive advantage
when you're dealing with the likes of
Tanner McKee and Joe Milton
I mean I guess they're
they're different
they're different
play styles
I would reckon
it doesn't really matter
maybe not
but he's in it right now
we'll take a break
we'll jump into the face off
fantasy face off
presented by prize picks
alrighty
Jason's not here today
so Mike and I will square off with
Al Borland
Jason wasn't the loser
it was me
no Mike lost
he spins the wheel
we'll do it right now
but we're going to face off against Al this week
and see if we can
shame
Al Borland
wheel
of
shame
the bear with the wheel looks funny to me
alright spin the wheel
drama llama
taco bell
count snack
smoking
oh
we've got
you just need to take your hat off
put a little something on there
a little baklava
baklava
what do you call that
how do you say that word
whatever you wear when you're skiing
I just said like a dessert
yeah you said
I thought you were making some joke that I didn't understand
Mike please put your mask on
in the NFL we would call this a shysty
let's see what we got
oh you look good
does it go over my nose
yeah
it goes over your nose
but you got to pull that down a little bit
you got to make it line up a little bit
I'm trying man
got to fix the nose
oh you look great
you look outstanding
thank you
you all look like you also might rob a bank
in an entertaining way
alright we are into this week's
oh yeah
I'm very happy about it though
yeah
your teeth have never looked better
you look like you might
reside in
in whatever place
the general manager
or the president of the
49ers went to
huh
oh
oh
okay
okay
sir
alright quarterback
this week
oh yeah
you got to stay on that camera please
Mike you need to pull that top down a little bit
I do
yeah you just need to line
and then get that nose lined up
you got to get your nose lined up
what are you talking about man
just the other direction
it's in my eyes
it's in my eyes
it's in my eyes
this is the best I can do
the bottom half to your left
yeah
you got to move
you got to move the bottom half over
so it looks like your actual mouth
there we go
yeah
now you look great
alright
quarterback this week Mike
I told you I was going to do it
I'm taking Joe Milton
10.5
okay
longest rush
longest rush
yeah
I'm taking the more
okay
okay
I looked at it
I saw it
did you really
yeah
that's funny
I'm going with
my quarterback
is Malik Willis
okay
I almost went Malik this week
and I was like
man looking at these
because I love it with Detroit
I'm like what
but I don't know which one to pick
and I went
you know what
it's a fantasy football show
let's just do a good old fashioned fantasy score
oh
16.5 points
more
yeah I thought you'd go the more on that one
Al Borland
at the quarterback position
I am taking Jordan Love
shocker
oh no
are we getting four packers
and no
no
okay
but we are getting two
oh of course we are
I'm taking 23
passing completions
I'm taking the more
okay
moving on to the
running back position
this is my green goblin
okay
this is
Bucky Irving
this is
11.5 rush attempts
I'm taking the more
on the man getting the ball
oh
10 bazillion times a day
that makes sense
it's a green goblin
so it's easy
my running back
Indianapolis
I'm calling your bluff
oh
what are you doing
are you taking Jonathan Taylor
Jonathan Taylor
really
61.5 rushing yards
against the Dallas Cowboys
oh it's Dallas
we're going more
oh
we're going more
well this is risky business
oh it's risky business
oh you gotta
you gotta stay
are you gonna
are you telling the truth
are you telling the truth
Indianapolis
he's part of your team
he's the foundational running back
that we're building upon
maybe
it's 61.5
he should do that in his sleep
Al what do you got
I am also taking
Bucky Irving
I'm taking his full line
at the rush attempts
at 15.5
I'm going more
oh that's funny
so we did
you just took the normal one
okay
that makes sense
he's been getting the ball a ton
wide receiver
I'm going Jamison Williams
he's been on fire
the Miami game
Jared Goff in Detroit
I'm gonna take 52.5
receiving yards
that's normally about two catches
for Jamison Williams
I'm gonna go more
for Jamo
all right
I got Nico's
Nico Collins
and when I got it
it was at 68.5
I think it is now
Al is it officially
at 67.5
that is correct
so I get a free yard
nice
so Nico Collins
67.5
I think we're getting
a bounce back here
we gotta feed our number one guy
okay
we're going more
all right
and I'm going Matthew Golden
more than 67.5
receiving yards
okay
there's your packer
I knew it was coming
that's right
okay
we've got
we've got one more
he might not catch them
they might not be good ones
but Tyler Warren
I'm taking eight
receiving targets
I'm taking them more
Tyler Warren
one of the last men
standing on that team
10 targets last week
I'm gonna
I'm gonna believe
that in that Dallas game
they're gonna need it
to throw the football
yeah
and so they don't have
many guys to do that
with
so I'm gonna take Tyler Warren
more than eight
receiving targets
not catches
targets
my green goblin
is my tight end
it is Kyle Pitts
senior
senior
19 and a half
receiving yards
so we'll go more
it's the
it's the bangles
it should work
okay
and the tight end position
is also my green goblin
I am gonna trust
Gardner Minshew
to get the ball
into Trey McBride's hand
more than four and a half times
his hand or his hands
I would go with his hands
but
yeah I mean either way
so you
wait what was the
four and a half receptions
so four and a half
one handed receptions
for Trey McBride
yeah I heard that
I'll go less
yeah all
they have to be one handed
yep
I'll be watching
you said it

you're in agreeance

FAQs
The Ravens were defeated 33-10 by Jacksonville, which went against expectations. The game saw a poor offensive performance from Baltimore, including a fumble by Trevor Hunter and two interceptions. The weather, which was rainy and soggy, worsened the situation, leading to a dominant performance by Jacksonville.
The trade of Jacoby Brissett from the Ravens to the Cardinals was highlighted as a strategic move. It helped Arizona improve their QB situation, while the Ravens were forced to rebuild, potentially gaining a better chance at playoff contention. The trade was seen as a key development for both teams' future success.
Key injuries reported include Harold Fannin (groin injury, recovering from offseason surgery), Garrett Wilson (out this week), and Mike Williams (not practicing due to a knee issue). Additionally, Saquon Barkley is upgraded to limited practice with a hamstring injury, while DeMario Douglas and A.J. Brown have been impacted by injuries or health concerns.
The Chargers are seen as a strong pick due to their top-3 defense in adjusted fantasy points and poor offensive performance, with a 27-drive touchdown drought. Houston, despite being underdogs, is viewed as a must-win with a strong defense. The game is considered an 'almost upset' due to the Chargers' offensive struggles and Houston’s potential for a comeback.
Jordan Love is highlighted as a top fantasy pick due to his strong performance and high projection (274.5 points). The Packers' offense has shown explosive potential, with Matthew Golden and Christian Watson delivering high-volume targets and big plays, making Love a must-start in the matchup.
DeMario Douglas is considered a risky but viable option, especially with Hunter Henry likely out. While he has only three catches in recent weeks, he showed a 48-yard touchdown in one game. The team notes he’s a slot receiver with limited volume, but it could be a safe play in a tight-end need or with injuries to other wideouts.
