Hey Kate, hey the Cover 3 tailgate, we're somehow, some way, with all of the time that we've spent, you know, flirting with being a Georgia pod and with all the time that we have thought about getting these locks. Joe just came through with a banger. Gunner Lockton takes the field in the world's largest indoor cocktail party. So much more to be able to break down on a week nine slate. Fired up to do it with you here for the week nine locks. So let's begin like we always do with a look back at the week that was. But Elliott, week eight for you was a five and six week. The wins included Indiana, Michigan under 42. Texas A&M plus 14. The Michigan State UCLA under 44. Rice plus seven and a half Arkansas State plus two and a half. The losses Memphis minus 10 Houston team total over Akron plus three and a half Sacramento State plus 14 and a half. Northern Illinois plus four and a half and Iowa State plus 11. Thoughts from the week eight slate for you. None of them are really close, right? Like the the wins were all rocking chair and the, uh, the losses were were also like pretty well decided. Uh, maybe Akron was the only one close. So, uh, got to do better also lost the three star. So I thought Iowa State would give Arizona a game and was very wrong about that. It, I think they closed pretty well and didn't, uh, didn't come home. So we'll try to do better. Five and six for the week has a bud at 37 and 39 for the season. The three star lock, uh, the, the lock of the three star locks is being tested. We're all dialed in or eyes ahead to see what comes as he has his roaring bounce back in week nine. A roaring bounce back needed for your boy as well. Three and five week for me cannot, cannot get right with these three stars. Total sub minus one and a half. We detailed it on the instant reaction show. Just bone headed plays down the stretch by the golden hurricane. Bone headed decision by me to make it my three star. Also ended up taking a lock fight lost. Tom Vernelli on the total in that Houston Utah game. Uh, also ended up taking a loss under 54 and a half in Ole Miss Texas. The first half under in LSU Auburn and Climpson minus two and a half. However, we did have some wins out there. Yes, we got that over, uh, SMU did it themselves against Cal. Also were able to get Arizona State plus two and a half. Also able to get the under 51 in Oregon, Illinois. And a push on Indiana minus seven with the overtime win. Three and five for the week sets me back a little bit on the over under. Says me back a little bit on the total overall record. 39 and 34, uh, buddy chip. You might be five games above 500, but your negative on the units got to dial in these three stars. Okay, DK. Whoo, ah, ha, ha. Okay, don't get too close to the mic. Okay, don't even jink. Come on, let's just eyes ahead. I'll just tell you what it was. It was a seven and two week for Danny canal. The wins were at state plus 12 and a half. You Michigan plus seven and a half. The Indiana Michigan under 42. That's a two for one special. If you're keeping track at home, LSU minus seven. The under 44 Michigan State UCLA big time. Underskeep cash in South Carolina minus two and a half. You know, this is October. UCF plus six and a half. Whoo, they got it done on the field. Uh, an L on USC minus two and a half. And also on the Iowa minus six and a half. But Danny, seven and two with a three star. Line went is six point eight units on the week. God, God, I feel good. What's the secret? Um, the secret is just setting up people all season long in the chat who are all in there. Oh, he picked against my team. I feel even better about my team now. All that smack talk in the chat. Where are you at now? All for quiet in there. All for quiet. Winnie big time winning week gets you to 3835. So we're over 500 overall. And three star lock win gets you positive in the, uh, in the overall units competition as well. One point three. Also, I always love to hear people's impression of, uh, like a chat or a Twitter mentions or because that's what it sounds like in your head. Danny just showed you what it sounds like when you talk. When you type that you think you know what it sounds like. That's what it sounds like to Danny Cannell right there. Uh, top four Nelly also just smoking on that end of the screen. If you're watching on youtube.com/cover3, uh, these two fellas right here 14 and five combined. That's because it's a seven and three week four time. The wins were Houston, Utah under mentioned that lock fight wins. South Carolina minus two and a half Minnesota team total under 16 and a half. Mississippi state team total under 20 and a half. Why'd you bring Camario back under 51 for Oregon, Illinois. The over 63 and a half for San Diego State, Colorado State, Kansas State, Arizona State under 56 and a half as well. Got the push on Indiana. You were there with me and then the only losses. And there are a few of them were Ole Miss plus three and a half. The under 51 and a half in LSU Auburn and then rice FAU. Boy, that one got a little bit lopsided. But uh, otherwise man, great week for you. Uh, Tom aka tech, the artist formerly known as techs. I mean, yeah, rice FAU was done fast. I will sit like the LSU Auburn underlost on a meaningless Auburn touchdown in the final minute. They were, the game was over. They just scored and then Ole Miss was kind of pretty close there too. So we were, we were very close to having a really, really, really good week. Yeah, finger on the Polts. Absolutely. Let's hope to keep the positive vibes rolling. But we're not thinking too much about the past. We're going that in the rear view eyes ahead. Gentlemen, you already lug it up. Yes, sir. Since 2005, the under and games between services that is it's 40, 9 and 1. We're making love. Give me an over and this one as well. Low two for one special. Get these lights. I was sicker last week. Y'all were watching the good games. I was live better in Hill at a ULM. Fucking, my blue plate special five star locks are coming. Five star master lock lock it. You want these locks? I'm, I'm living and dying at every point, every couple. From the locking chair to your eyes and ears and, you know, Barton, just really the star of the week here in the Cover 3 universe. I've just phenomenal work. DK, I'm glad you shared it. Striker put in some good work. We were able to to celebrate just like everybody else's. It is an outstanding week here on the Cover 3 podcast. Let's keep it going with the locks Thursday night. Little sun belt action with Troy going to play James Madison. And then the aforementioned FAU owls taken on North Texas in a battle of five and two teams in the American. Who's got a lock? I'll take a FAU plus 14 and a half. I think the owls like can score enough here. That's a lot of points in what our project is to shoot out. Like North Texas deserves a lot of flowers, man. Like they lost important guys in their secondary for the year or long term in the preseason. And really from game one, they just look good, man. They've kind of in some days look like the class of the American. I know the schedule's been a little bit friendly, but I like you got to give Neil Brown a lot of credit. That said, FAU 14 and a half, I'll take it. Anybody else got any action here? I really want to tackle the over, but 76 and a half points. 67 and a half now. That's that's a little bit. Yeah, a little bit too rich. That's prince. I mean, it kind of it feels like you got to go principles here. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's no fun though on that game. No lock, but I do kind of like James Madison minus 18 and a half. Troy running out of gas going up to they look pretty sketchy last week. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It was we had that moment. We're like, oh, Troy boy rides again. And then things started to get a little bit a little bit sketchy. Is Billy Napier? I'm one of these open jobs. I don't know. I don't know. That's always I don't want to step on anybody else's corners. Always a handicapping angle. Also the are very a very good friend. Haley Sutton, North Texas, Mean Green, all star, I believe she was all conference as when she was there shooting up for North Texas. She said that there's a graphic going around where they're taking North Texas and then they're taking the North Texas expats and trying to compare and because North Texas has been able to have some success they're like, we didn't even need Drew Mestemaker and Caleb Hawkins and Wyatt Young. Look at what we've got here. So they're very excited about what Neil Brown's been able to do. would put together in the success that they've been able to have on the field. Turning the page to Friday. In the American, we've got two lane heading down to go play Charlotte, Baylor, and UCFs, speaking of schools that have fired their coaches as the Dave Arranda-Less Bears will be heading to the Bounce House in Orlando. And then, I know, I mean, but I can prepare the button if you've got it. But Kent State is playing a mid-American constant football game in Sacramento at 10.30 p.m. Eastern time on Friday night, the night before Halloween. Oh, man, I can't go there. Like, I took my shot with them last week. I thought that was fun in the game. Like, they could be even with. And, I mean, like, if you're a pirate in these guys, like, using like a Conley scale, like, they might need to be like a negative 35s. Like, maybe a 38, man. Like, I just, I, that, I don't know what you do with that. They're not, they're not a D1 team. They, they are not. I mean, they are officially out, but they are not. Yeah. Oh, they are a plus one. You know, like, somebody else invited them. That was, the bride did not make her initial list and include, but somebody brought Sac State to the house. It turns out, when you have to pay everybody's airfare, you have nothing left to put together a roster. Yeah. Tough, tough scenes. I do like some of the Baylor Alts. Right. Just on a fade of UCF coming off that huge win. I still think Jenkins is a very, very high variance QB, but not on the, on the underlying, really. I'm also a subscriber to Pix6 Plus, which, you know, we've talked about the Pix6 preview magazine. They continue with weekly releases and Brett mentioned. I think it's the last two years. Fire your coach next game eight and four against the spread. Oh, and that might just be power conference for those bad, but it's, you know, Baylor showed you something then flatlined for a couple games. Fire their coach. If you think they can recapture the form they had against Arizona State, then that might be something to look at as well. No lock here. Anybody, anybody else grabbing something? All right. Friday. I would have taken Charlotte when it was still a 10 and a half, but now that it's down to like eight and a half, no. Yeah. Because of a fade of two lane. Yeah, and Charlotte home off the bike. I'm not sipping on Modelo. By the way, this is no free ads, but it's a soldier. Not on the hall. Yeah, right, right, right, right, right. Well, it could, it could still have something in it, you know, Thursday, I guess. Yeah, I guess so. All right. Five o'clock somewhere. Coming up on the other side, we turn our attention to Saturday beginning with some of the biggest games of the weekend, including we've got a different edition of the cocktail party. We've got big time proof at moment for the USC Trojans and Indiana Hoosiers welcoming in PJ Fleck and an upset mind to go first all that and more next. Back here on the cover three podcasts as we turn our attention to Saturday's games in week nine and let's begin in Atlanta, where we've got a little bit of a different venue, but certainly no change in the annual stakes between Florida and Georgia, Georgia going into this game, trying to bounce back, you know, from the disappointing loss against Auburn, Florida seems to have found its footing after being able to take out Texas. So very different results before the off week, but an off week to cleanse the palette and look ahead, we gave you the full big game breakdown. Now I just want to know who's got a luck. All right, I do, I do. I just, I was seeing if anybody else was going anywhere, I'm just trying to be nice. Give me Florida plus 12 and a half. You know, you look at the history of these games between these two and I, you know, we talked about it in the big game breakdown the other day too, like Buster Faulkner as an offensive coordinator has had a lot of success against this Georgia defense. He knows how to keep his offense on the field and control the clock and I think that is something that Florida will clearly be looking to do here to help protect its defense. And I just think, you know, rivalry game like this, 12 and a half, a lot of points. So yeah, give me the gators. - What is the, the best number you can get me on first half total? - 28 and a half. - 28 and a half. - Under. - Yep. - Okay, thank you. - Thank you. - All right, 'cause I took a yes, yeah, I was looking around. I thought it was a 27 and a half, wanted that key number. I think this game, both teams back, both by week, both healthy. But Gunner Stockton coming off maybe his worst performances of Georgia Bulldog, I think they want to run the football. We know what Florida wants to do with Tremel Jones or Aaron Filo. They want to get Jaden ball going in that run game. I think it could be a struggle early for both of them. Kind of that physical, you know, matchup early is they're kind of feeling each other out under all day. - You know, it's funny. It started with my initial prediction, be like, "Oh, this game could get crazy." And we've seen some of those 42, 28, you know, even the game that with a 10-digit final march and just kind of leaks out, but I'm with you, Danny. I think that where these two teams are at going into this game, understanding the stakes, both already with some losses, a puncher feeling it out in the new building, new coaching staff, I liked that being able to get that number as well. So I'm on the first half under two. - I'm a little curious, like, you know, how much did Kirby and Muschamp talk about this, right? You know, like, obviously they run a very similar style of defense. They've faced a Buster Faulkner, the Florida OC, many times when he was a tech. Like there's, how much does that benefit Georgia to have a similarly talented defense with a very similar scheme, you know, have played this Florida offense from a standpoint of like, hey, you know, what do you think they were trying to do to you? Right? Like, what surprised you, you know, obviously Florida got that, that win. So they kind of had to empty their bag of tricks somewhat. Oh, they had a new quarterback. So not that Faulkner doesn't have more tricks in there, but like he's traditionally been able to keep this off and or this defense off balance a little bit. And they really didn't have a whole lot of success against Texas and Austin. They won the game, but it was a lot of it. It was like defensive special team stuff. So I'm like, how much does that matter for Georgia in the under or on the other side, Faulkner's already seen how a similar scheme has tried to attack him this year? I will not, I will not be happy, but I will not be thrown off my initial pregame thoughts if Gators come right down with the crispy script and be able to look like they're moving it. I don't know if that would sustain for 30 minutes, but the first mover advantage could certainly be there something that you have to entertain, but I generally think that we will be not getting that many points before half time. Anything else on this one? But would you attack this spread? Like would you lay it with the dogs? - Not really. I think it's like, you know, think about Georgia alter. Like I don't think Georgia took that game seriously enough to see if you look at the pad level of the guys for Georgia. Like they didn't have that traditional Georgia fire. Like you get two weeks of Kirby in their ear with that, right? Like literally with his microphone off the by-week, I imagine that it'd come out pretty fired up. Now like they don't really need style points, but no, I think it's about right, you know? Maybe later in the show, we'll have something on this. - Oh, by the way, I just, I understand that any good talent evaluator is gonna be able to recognize pad level from being able to just watch the tape, but that's a pretty awesome drop right there. If you wanna make pad level your new measure of what if that's the rest of the season, you can have the corn on that, that delights me. - Watch Georgia ban and watch Georgia alter and tell me they played with the same level of effort and focus. Not a chance. - It's good stuff right there. Okay. Hey, speaking of focus. Hey, USC, the butt guys are coming to town. I would not allow for some of those things at the margins to fall apart because to let Lincoln Riley tell it, there were some things that went well against Wisconsin. They just, it was situational, right? It was just situationally, they didn't capitalize on all the right opportunities. So if they're not that far from what he's looking for out of the Trojans, then it shouldn't be too much of a challenge to have the Ohio State butt guys with the backup quarterback coming to town. I mean, come on Troy, this is where you circle the wagons and you win the iconic big 10 game in the Coliseum. Is that the way you see it? Who's got a lock? - You're being far too kind to Lincoln Riley. - I, I'm a plant for Kirby smart. I am a plant for Davosweeney and I'm a plant for Lincoln Riley. - We've heard like a lot of candidate at Texas Tech 'cause guys, they're not gonna open it 'cause you could, Cody Campbell's tweets. - That's fine. - He's fine. - Joy McQuire, say this can be. - Extend him. (laughing) - I didn't do it last year when you ran the table and made the playoff, but okay. - You're talking about Lincoln saying that they did things well last week. He said they, he thought they ran the ball well. They finished with negative 17 yards rushing. - He did not say that, did he? - Yes, he did. - He gave the most flowery review. I saw some of the flowery review stuff, but I didn't know he said they ran the ball well. - I, I think they're gonna continue to run the ball real well this week. I, I look at this game. I mean, I, I don't know how you can really do anything but under here, it's, I really don't want to take off. Ohio State is a road favorite of nearly a touchdown when they've got a first-time starter at quarterback. That just seems kind of strange, but I don't really want that on USC, either considering how USC typically performs in these games. But I do think the under-make sense in that I'm expecting Ohio State is going to try to make this as easy as possible on their quarterback, whether it is St. Clair, whether it is Fahey, I think we are going to be leaning on our run game and we might be a little man-ball-ish if we're the buck eyes and see if we can do that and control the game and just put our quarterback in situations they can succeed, and don't ask them to do too much. And I don't think USC can block Ohio State. I don't think Ohio State's past rush is as good as Wisconsin's, but I do believe that it could have success against what I've seen of this USC offensive line in recent weeks, which I just don't think has been very good. It's like, Oregon's defense has started to look better lately and I feel like it started in that game against USC. And that was the first offensive line I thought they kind of abused and I feel like USC's offensive line has been abused quite a bit. Every game sits. So I like the under 51 and a half. So okay, how are you not laying it with me? I'll play it. Give me Ohio State minus six and a half. Like we're still making a big deal out of beating a garbage Penn State team. Like, congrats, you won a road game over a team that's probably not even top 40. Like, USC, that's table stakes. Lay it. Yeah, I'm laying it. We've got an offensive line that the word is is getting a little bit healthier. Not for USC. Not for USC. Not for USC. No, no, no. Not for you. Like, I know what on CBS yesterday we had those concerns about like, you know, Ohio State's pass rush. And I think those are valid in the playoff. I bet you they rush to pass you just fine on Saturday. Yeah. I think that this is going to be a game where we asked, you know, are the backs special? You might look special on Saturday night, you know, if they're, if they are able to get out there and block and create lanes because we do know that Bo Jackson and Jacobi Jackson are unique athletes. And if they get enough room, they do have the explosiveness to be able to go and rip off a couple of long runs that haven't been there necessarily. I think that they're going to make a concerted effort to be able to do that. I think that Ohio State is more than happy to try to turn this into a physical game. And it under a touchdown, even if it's super low scoring and you talk about tackling the under, there's a lot of ways that I see Ohio State win in this game by at least to touchdown. I'm very happy to, to lay the six and a half here. As long as the quarterback doesn't like spit the bed and just puke all over himself, which I don't think will happen. That's the only way I see Ohio State losing this game is if there are major issues and they could still bench him and go to the back up. That's like the only way I see Ohio State losing this game. So you're locking it up? I am locking it up. I don't love anything about this game. I don't have any good feel. It's been college football this season. You got a home dog. Nobody thinks can win. But I don't like USC. So it's like, I just don't want to touch it. Yeah. All right. So we got Tom in on the under button ship on Buckeye's Danny abstaining. All right. Let's go to. Tom, what's the foliage looking like? I've seen a lot of foliage conversation. I feel like Bloomington. It should be. Oh, it's gorgeous. Yeah. Bloomington should be spectacular. I mean, we've got fantastic scene setting. It's what you get when you invite America's most watch network, the network of stars to town. And yes, on big time, it's going to be the Minnesota Golden Gofers traveling to go take on Kurt Signetti and the Indiana Hoosiers. Hoosiers being able to escape in overtime against Michigan, thanks to an overtime touchdown run from Joshua. We've talked a lot about what he's going to have to do to try to improve the passing attack and the offense as we are looking against the tougher opponents is Minnesota that point spreads large, but the stakes are high as well. Hoosiers got a lock. I do. All right. Give me the gofers in the 21. Looking at this, like, I know Minnesota's offensive line is banged up. Indiana has played one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight games in a row. They got the buy after this one, right? Just get out of there with a win. You don't need style points, like, maybe Hoever is a little healthy, but I kind of doubt it. Like, like, I, 21's a big number in a conference game for a, like, not a good team, maybe not getting above average, but like a competent Minnesota team against what, what looks to be a bit of like a limping Indiana. Big dog low total, too. I mean, just like, you could even take the names off and you've got a 20 point dog with a total of 41 and a half nanny, CBS a 41, give me the under, give me the under for the big 10 unders have been fire for me. I'm going back to that. Well, I like the one reason I kind of like Minnesota, too. I'm not going to take it, but like, this offense just has not really been clicking. Yeah, this could be the, I mean, Purdue put up 41 on them when Purdue was playing at home against them. But I do think the defense is still really stout and Drake Lindsey could struggle. But I think in Indiana, like, I don't think there's an upset alert, but I just think they're a little banged up too. They're going to be sound defensively. I don't trust that all. Like, because there, you know, a couple years ago, we're looking at Indiana, maybe covering this by themselves, right? Like 42 to 3, and sure, maybe that could happen. But I need to see that offense look better against big 10 teams before I feel that way. I get you 42 and a half, which is kind of big deal. It was a very big deal. Big deal. Huge deal. Yes. Let's make that our three star. Ooh. Minnesota or the under? Yeah. Minnesota. Okay. Let's go. Awesome. So slow. I mean, we are like, what do you think the actual game time for this game is? I don't have a lot of time for the lot of feel, if you get your studio show, it was game on this, man. Yeah. Like get that pocket square right, make sure you're looking dapper as you want a lot of air time. Yeah. Zuck coach. ATBJ. Y'all get ready. Now I've got our hyzen. Hey. Hey, stretch. Stretch. We're going to need to do the stretch right here. Let's go. Got a little feel coming. Tom, in anything here? No, it's just the drone shots are going to be gorgeous because Bloomington is a great place for fall foliage. Yeah. It truly is. I was not trying to be like. No, it really is. I don't want to say anything. I don't want to say anything nice about Indiana, but as far as good looking campuses, it's a good looking campus, particularly this time of year elite campus at this time of year. The setting shouldn't be incredible. Everyone there is going to be so happy to be there. It's going to be awesome. And that is a reminder that this week, that is your big time matchup, Minnesota, Indiana, in Bloomington. It's big time on CBS. You can watch it on CBS America's Most Watch Network, The Network of Stars. Kick off at 3.30 p.m. Eastern time. You can stream it on Paramount Plus. Coming up on the other side, we continue the conversation rolling through with some Saturday's headliners and more. >> Back here on the cover three podcast, and as we turn our attention to the big 12, Arizona, showing up to Lubbock with that intentions. I mean, they want to be able to jump in, get a win, get into the thick of this big 12 race. Texas Tech, obviously, wants to be able to bounce back from the upset loss. Who's got a lock? >> Under, really? >> Yeah. The way that Texas Tech has had offensive struggles, I do not think are going to be solved overnight. And I do not think they're going to be solved against an Arizona defense that has been pretty salty. I still think Texas Tech's defense is pretty good. We mentioned on big game breakdown that this is an Arizona group of pass catchers that's been a little bit dinged and banged up over the course of the last maybe three, four weeks. They wanted to get healthy, some guys last week against Iowa State. We'll see if they're back in the lineup here. But ultimately, I think that I'm respecting Texas Tech's defense. I am doubting Texas Tech's offense. And I am looking at that Arizona defense affront to cause Will Hammond to maybe after they get into scoring range, really fail to capitalize it on in the red zone. Tell me if you've heard that one before, Texas Tech might move the ball until the field gets small and then have trouble catching it in for touchdowns. Because all those minus fours, when you settle for field goals instead of getting sevens, can also end up helping our under efforts. Lock agreement. Oh, baby. It's simple. I am skeptical of Texas Tech's offense. I am also skeptical of Arizona's offense against a good defense because the one good defense we saw them play shut them down pretty good. So give me the under 55. I will give me Arizona in the three and a half. Let me see what else. I think BYU's defense is way better than Texas Tech's, especially against the pass. We mentioned this in the big game breakdown. Texas Tech's secondary has been carved up a little bit by lesser quarterbacks than Noah Fafita. I think Fafita knows how to protect himself, get rid of the ball, knows where to go when you blitz him. He'll get it out of his hands quick. That can be very frustrating. I think Brent Brennan and Arizona can win this game, but I'm going to take the three and a half. got any reads here rolling through these teams. Yeah, they're looking on screen at youtube.com/cover3. Great work here from from striker since losing at BYU Arizona's five and oh beating teams by an average of 23.8 points per game all five wins by double digits. I would need four and a half to get Arizona. So it's passed for me. But generally like you but you're also not rushing to lay three and a half either. No, no, no. Okay. Okay. Now let's look as we continue sort of guide our way through Wisconsin and Iowa a game with college football playoff and big 10 title race implications. I mean, this is this is a big one here in addition to being the rivalry game, which is always going to bring these two teams to the mat. It felt like Iowa just lost its own style of game with Minnesota winning 13 to 10 and getting the walkoff winner. Now Iowa is Iowa going to get beat at their own game two weeks in a row. But they're three and a half point home favorites. Who's got a lot? Alt will alter under 13 and a half. It's I don't hate it. I don't probably get decent odds on it. Anybody got a lot? Nope. God, I want to take the under, but it's so it then. It's so low. You're on a heater. Yeah. Yeah. I'm trying to stay on it later. This does the under here scares me because of Colton Joseph, right? Like one defensive score or turnover in your own zone really impacts this. And like I would play so much zone like if he can scramble around like maybe get a driver to and then also misread some of that stuff and throw pick six. I get why it's so low, but I thought you were going to say because of his electric playmaking. Well, I think he's going to have to be more involved than he was last week against USC, right? Like Wisconsin's defense was just killing USC after like the first 15 minutes. So they knew what yeah, yeah, they didn't ask him to do much. I don't think Wisconsin maybe I do. Maybe I do think Wisconsin would do that. I was I was offense. Come on. Badgers plus three and a half. No, I'm going to pass. I'm I'm going to pass. Okay. Are you taking a chip? I've got something later from this game. Yeah. Wow. That came in new in eastern time in Iowa city will be up. It'll get your day started, right? It'll put some I'll tell you what. Everybody's out there talking about all the candy you're going eat on Saturday night. We're having vegetables in the morning boys. This is an each your vegetables game to get it right. All right, speaking of the candy, about 14, 14 and a half points of candy. If you think the target of me able to tap in with a little history, about five straight wins against the Miami Hurricanes about multiple times that the Hurricanes have not been able to capitalize in Chapel Hill, but I was writing the game preview for this game for CBS Sports.com and it was interesting that even though Mario is oh and two against the Tar Heels as Miami said coach, didn't didn't have to face cam ward or or the team that made it all the way to the national championship game. And I think we can definitely say the 12 and 13 combined records of year one year two of Mario. That's not exactly the group that's coming to town right here. So with a about two touch sound spread, Halloween night in Chapel Hill, who's got a lock. All right, Holdren doesn't bet this, but we're going to hurry else plus 14 and a half. I think that D line can like that's the best D line Miami's face or Clemson said. And I trust you're in the conversation. You're absolutely in the conversation. I mean, it's either them or Clemson like like they're they're as a Tallahassee guy, I would trade for UNC's D line instantly like what we're in maybe the commissioner would reject that trade if we like a fantasy ACC, you know, positional league thing. Would you give up two firsts and a fourth for it? Am I missing? Oh, sorry, sorry, um, shit. Well, no, because our picks are pretty valuable there in Tallahassee. All right, so I do trust Billy to not turn it over quite as much as the Clemson guys. So like and I maybe Bella check has something cooked up to, you know, to just slow them down a little bit, but I just got to pull the trigger on numbers. Let the children sing. The old boys going up against the canes. Um, I think this would have to be, I've probably leaned towards the over as well, because I just don't know if you can stop Malachi, Tony and Darren events, so even if you can slow them down, but I do think we saw Geo Lopez put up some pretty good numbers. We saw Ashton Daniels, maybe his best game against Miami's secondary. I think Bobby Patrino has something up his sleeve for the Miami defense, which isn't exactly dominant up front. So maybe it's even a backdoor cover, um, score late. I don't care. Fourteen and hook is a lot of points on the road in a potential look ahead spot, too, because the game of the century is coming up next. Do you know there's a good screen collar? Bobby Patrino. Yeah. Yeah. No, listen, you talked about, yeah, I don't need to hold my nose. You talked about the numbers. I'll tell you what numbers happen. I'm talking about the number 15. I'm talking about those first first 15 plays, boys. I'm talking about execution. I'm talking about North Carolina first quarter team total over three and a half. That's right, boys. We are either getting one touchdown, two field goals or a touchdown and a field. I guess a touchdown we get it done as well, but this is going to be a tar heels team that has been prepping to be able to expose that Miami defense for a whopping six, seven or more points. North Carolina first quarter team total over three and a half. Let's go. I actually like it. I would love it at two and a half, but I like it. I mean, one tied in screen to Jalani Thurman that just like goes the rest of the way for a touchdown. That's, we're there. We're there. Two safeties would be hilarious, but truthfully, I understand what we're looking at. Okay, let's see in. Oh, yeah, we'll do this last one just since you said no, boys, and then we'll we'll hit another break and open it up, but Clemson Florida state. It's got a lock. Oh, lay it. Yeah. Yeah. Are you laying up for sure? Are you saying that? How do we lock it up back to back? All right, let's go. We have the, we don't even know what it was. The president letter that he put out, but I mean, he's addressing the issues and how people are not happy and it's unacceptable. But I mean, Clemson shouldn't be able to score many points. They haven't been able to do it. I mean, if there was a get right game, this could be it against Florida state's defense with the amount of big plays that they've given up. But I think Florida state, I think they fought hard from Mike Norvel. I still think they're clawing away. A little bit worried about the loss of Chroma, but there are other backs been pretty decent too. I think they'll be able to run the football. I think they'll be able to win at home. I like the nose. Play with Latifa. Oh, no. Oh, boy. I mean, I feel like sometimes you just have to pay attention to what the line says in the larger scheme of things where we've talked for a year. Mike Norvel has been on the hot seat for however long now. There's nothing good about Florida state. Compared to where you think they're supposed to be, everything is negative, negative, negative. And then here comes Clemson and Florida state's still favored by pretty much a touchdown against him. The line's telling you something. If you haven't really been paying attention to what this Clemson team is in 2026, this game should probably be your final wake up call because I do think Florida state's going to have, I think they're going to win. Obviously, I think they're going to cover. I think there could be some outline situations here because you are, you know, Norvel. You're coming off of your buy. You are in these big games. You have tended to put up really big performances. And if you are Mike, like say you are trying to save your job in telehassy or you are trying to put your name out there as like an offensive coordinator, somewhere maybe where your former coworker needs an offensive coordinator. Come out and like dance all over Clemson's grave. I think if Florida state has a chance to kind of keep scoring here in the second half, Florida state's going to try to keep scoring in the second half. Yeah. Mm-mm-mm. My oh my. I'm in a little bit of a pickle here because we've seen the trend right team coming off a big win and then they have the letdown game and typically it's on the road and typically the team that they're playing against coming off a buy well I have a team coming off a big emotional win now they're traveling on the road but the team they're playing off a play against is also coming off a big emotional win that set the tone for their season but I think I mentioned to you guys yesterday nobody goes to the nip and comes out unscathed give me Cincinnati getting six and a half at home against the Utes get your seven yeah I'll take the full touchdown by the way kudos to Scott Satterfield has done a great job JC French for touchdown passes last week he did turn the ball over it makes me a little bit nervous uh Texas Tech did run the football the game script really did play out well for Cincinnati they jumped out quick against Texas Tech but they're playing with a ton of confidence nipard is a really good home field advantage kind of quietly under the radar and I if you can now this is a big if because I could also see a scenario where Evan Dan Pierre runs all over him the Wayshan parker runs all over him but I think since natties capable of keeping this one close so I'll take the bear cats anybody else got to play here uh since you mentioned Satterfield a piece that I had not heard until um later I guess a couple days later but Jerry Moore was a national championship winning head coach at app state and Scott Satterfield I know coached for Jerry Moore took over after Jerry Moore retired Jerry Moore early in his career was a coach at Texas Tech and Scott Satterfield said Jerry Moore drove from boon to Cincinnati to be able to watch the upset uh to be to be there as like a guest of the Satterfields and watch the big upset for his I believe former quarterback and I know his former offensive coordinator so uh very Scott Scott Scott was loving it. I mean he's he had his former coach there he got the big the big time when vibes are good around the bear cats at this moment um all right Tom what would you like you also heard me like last week I'm going to fire off my three star going back to the well Mississippi State team total under 14 and a half against Texas Camario is out for the year there is no greater testament to how good of a football player Camario Taylor is then watching Mississippi State with him and then watching Mississippi State without just I'm not it's I don't think they're going to score more than two touchdowns against the Long Arts. Yeah against Texas too you know you're you're going up against a very very challenging defense what's the number on that one? 14 and a half. I kind of want to lay him with Texas like I think you know what happened last year the fight but I don't like a conference game. It's a but I like Tom's bet. Well I tell you what you don't want to do is you don't want to be kicking yourself being like why did I trust Texas to cover this big number and it's like oh they didn't get the they didn't cover. Yeah um I have uh I have two levels of real concern here. The first is just the overall state of of Georgia Tech football at the moment you know off to a two in five start right now there's uh they they already had their off week with the chance to to reboot stuff and kind of stole one a little bit uh against the blue devils but that might have been their Super Bowl. Georgia Tech might have already played its best football game of the season and that is not encouraging. Now look we know that the pit Panthers are just an absolute sort of you know walking wounded scenario and this is their last game before a buy but after losing three straight with the opportunity to tee off against quarterback play they benched excuse me I don't know about bench. They tried somebody else other than Alberto. Last time Georgia Tech was out and the offense ain't working. The offense just seems to be broken. I think that's where Pat and Arduzzi in this pit defense really tee off and I think after three losses in a row uh close lost in North Carolina disappointing close loss to Boston college and then kind of running into a buzz saw last week against Miami. I think they snap it. I think pit still got the bones of a good football team. Give me the Panthers. I think minus seven and a half. Yep. Yeah. Panthers minus seven and a half three star lock. Come on Pat. Got it. This is the time to be able to dig it in because I don't know if uh I don't know if Georgia Tech's getting black up out of the dirt on this one. That's I thought about it. Yeah. Uh bud. Where would you take it? All right so uh last figure I went two and five on games where I beat the market close. So get right on that. Um the three I hit early this week. Sudden minutes minus two and a half. It's way at a range now they're they're three and a half uh UVA plus 14 that got bet and then old DOM uh is still there for me at plus three against Marshall. Uh I think Marshall's defense is not nearly as good as some of the defenses that have given this old DOM offense troubles to go and give me old DOM plus three. Whoo. Ricky Ronnie trying to get the monarchs back on the right side of things. It has been a tough tough season around Norfolk to to be able to find some success but maybe Marshall provides that opportunity. I I root for you uh root for you bud um okay Danny what would you like to do? Uh there are two teams that are facing off against each other and I think this uh point spread is sharedly by the logos next to them. Um there's one that has a couple of wins in the big 10 already and there's one that's still searching for their first win in the big 10 on the year Penn State is playing host to Purdue. What's the best number I can get? Is it nine and a half? I think you can get both sides of this. There's a nine and a half and there's eight and a half depending on what side you want. I want Purdue and the nine and a half. Let's go. Barry Odom has had a much better squad this year. He's got a couple quality wins. They took Wake Forest to overtime. I think they might be the better football team. Penn State gotta be getting awful tight up there from Matt Campbell, desperately need a win. Do you trust them against this team? I don't. I'll take Purdue in the points. I have something in this game. Go and give me the under. I think it's kind of a circle of wagons game for a coach like Matt Campbell. I don't have a lot of faith. Penn State offense is going to get right, but I think with with some time to prep for this, they can keep Purdue's offense and check. Just kind of a slog. 55. It feels a little high for me. I like that. Tom. Might have more later. Yeah, I could see that. Wow. I don't think I don't think Iowa State has answers to stop Oklahoma State's offense. I do not trust Oklahoma State as a total team to lay nearly double digits in aims at night in the rhythm of this season with a lot of other landmines around. But I don't think Iowa State has answers defensively. I'm going to go Oklahoma State team total over 34 and a half. I think we can get up to 35 against the cyclones. I think Drew Mestemaker and the offense keep humming. That's a way for me to be able to take some of the things that I like the most about this team without having to saddle up with the parts that make me the most nervous, which would include Oklahoma State's defense. I'm just a simple kind of man. So I'll just take Oklahoma State minus eight and a half. Just lay it. Like that. Oklahoma State, whoo. Longest ATS win streak. So wow, look at that. No way. Thanks for jinxing me with that graphic. No way they would not win nine in a row against red. Certainly not now. All right, but all right. We already hit a fishy. We already hit Minnesota. You know, man, I just don't trust this Cal team. Traveling East to Raleigh, Circle of Wagon's Wolfpack minus six and a half. Lay it for Dave. For Dave. Let's go. Noon Easter time on Halloween. You know, I do, I do something. I take the kids somewhere before we just got to occupy the day. People talk about Saturday, Halloween, like it's great. What are you going to do with them all day long? The neighbors are not ready to receive the trick or treating until you get to Twilight, but the kids wake up and they're ready for their costumes. Well, I mean, take them to Carter friendly. I will say this is our you know, this is our costume game at Little League. Right. So which is good because we're in the middle of playing the five best teams in league in a row. So our confidence is not really peaking right now. So maybe Saturday's loss will not feel quite as bad. Or maybe the other team will play like crazy because they can't see through their masks. I was just thinking I think this is a great way to level the competitiveness. If everybody has to play in costumes, it's kind of like a race at a baseball game, you know, where we're just like, it doesn't matter how fast you are, but you are in an inflatable dinosaur suit. So you better, it's different set of skills to be able to get that down. Yeah, our practice last night was terrible too. Like I would I would fade if we're going if we're going to play like we practice, um, inside or trading allegations from T-Ball to league. So some of our kids throw throw way too hard, right, for other boys to catch. So like we have two kids who can really play shortstop. You got to play the other one at first base. But like sometimes we got to move it around and like, can we learn how to flip? Like guys follow the flip and they're like, let's risk it and it goes, you know, 40 degrees that way and like this is. Oh, you're kind of talking about Walker Eget throwing passes, right? Yeah, correct. Let's see if Walker Eget can flip it against a Boston College defense that has been playing some good football recently. Give me Duke Boston College under 48 and a half. Actually, I think you can get something better than that. Yeah, let's see. Yeah, I hit this earlier. Now 48 and a half's best. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Give me BC plus seven and a half. Like, I got to give it to him. I thought BC was going to be terrible this year and they're just not that bad. Limited, but good football is being played over the last couple weeks. Limited in what they can do. Yeah. And I think Duke is also kind of limited, you know, so. Nate Shepard, I mean, just like before this gets clipped, Nate Shepard is very, very special. Let the record show in the transcript and otherwise. Nate Shepard, very, very special. But there's this Duke team, I think this game could be played in a phone booth and I'm pretty sure Boston College wants that. I think my entire card, all those is contiguous states. Like, I got like four bets in North Carolina. You know, I got, you know, a couple others over there. A beautiful mind stuff happening down here. Look at that. Look at that. Look at that. Danny, where'd you like to go? Take me to Annapolis, where Navy is hosting Notre Dame. It's been a while. Gillette Stadium season. Oh, is that where it is? Is it? Oh boy, that might change things. You think Navy's going to lose that tremendous home field. Remember Bill got the stadium built with the sunny side and a shady side, right? Yeah. Yeah, it could be a tough one. Give me Notre Dame. Lay the points. They are coming off a by-week. They would really love to. Remember, leave no doubt. I know Miami's coming up next week. There's a little bit of a temptation towards the look-ed spot. Notre Dame's five and one against the spread in the last six games versus Navy. They're nine and two against the spread in the last 11 games following an against the spread loss. I just, I've seen this story too many times. In fact, a lot of times Navy's ranked. And it's like, ooh, it's going to be a test for Notre Dame. And they just shut them out. They have more time to prep for the offense that they're going to face. I think Notre Dame waxes them. Can we start calling Danny a traitor? Because every time I fade a service academy, it's like Danny. Well, there was day, traitor, Danny. Yeah, day, traitor, Danny. I don't feel kind of bad fading the troops. But this, you're right about this. It, it's always later in the season. And you talk yourself into it. Like Notre Dame's going to take it easy and they don't. You know, it's really the Irish. Maybe they're exactly. They're the comments. They're the ones that are turning, turning the tables on America. Anybody else got a Notre Dame Navy lock? Maybe. Um, the trees are coming across the country too, but it ain't just the bears. We're bringing the trees too. Yeah. And they're coming off a big win against NC State. Louisville, uh, been sitting at home. They tend to score points when they are playing in the comfy confines of the artist formerly known as Cardinal Stadium. Give me Louisville team total over 41 and a half. I, I thought about this. And then last night, uh, you know, a couple of guys I follow at Louisville, are like, how the hell did we get more banged up during the buy week? Because Lil Wayne McCoy, I think is probably going to miss, right? A couple linemen. I think there was a safety. I don't know. They're all misses though. I'm going to sit on this one. Yeah. I just, I was looking at their scores at home. I was looking at Stanford's defense. And I was thinking that if the cards are going to come back with a fury and with the vengeance in the second half of this season, man, there's a good opportunity. Only one more home game to left for Jeff to be able to win at home in front of season ticket holders, boosters and things of that nature. Be, be nice to put a big old boat load of points on the board. And I think they've got the skill talent to be able to do it. Birds over trees. Trees may stand there, but birds can fly away. Birds poop on the trees. Not the other way around. See, see? Now, let's not even talk about pollination time. Where would you like to go? I would like to go to, no, you know, let's stay, no, yeah, let's stay in the ACC. Let me see here. Let me just make ever. Yeah, it's still there. Give me wake minus 12 and a half against Virginia. Just like, I think they're a much better football team right now. I think Virginia is kind of a mash unit really banged up. Have been for a while and they're just not playing very good football. And I think wait, coming off the buy just, yeah, can really kind of help clinch their, their past to the ACC championship game here. Yeah, I, I, I played, I played UBA 14 and a little bit north 14 earlier in the week just on numbers, but yeah, like they, they do look banged. Sneaky revenge game here. Not no reason to jump against your pick here, but remember, Wake had that wild game where they beat Virginia last year with no offensive touchdowns. There's just field goals and a carload. Hernandez return to be able to get that done. But Virginia is a totally new team and a team that I think is more banged up than Wake is. Also Charlottesville to Winston, not that far. I bet I think I think it'll be a I think it will be a packed house, but I think you'll see some blue and orange in there as well. Much love to to my friends, Davis and Caitlin, a house divided for this one right here. Wake grad, UVA grad, Virginia fans really traveling for football right now. Yeah. I I think Charlottesville down to Winston as a fine roll down the hill from Virginia's wine country to a to a very pleasant country club known as the dash over there in the in the triad. I mean, basketball does start next week. It's true. I think we'll see we'll see. All right. Now, you know, with with all this candy, it is important to take care of your teeth. I think he I think he did okay last week. He also had that L issue first half. All right. Auburn comes to Oxford with a match up between two of these physically worse defenses in the SEC. Home and weight trends are interesting for this game because Ole Miss plays well at home while Auburn has played better on the road this year. That is true. Like Auburn's home field of advantage like the last half decade has been like almost nonexistent. OK, where we go here. Stop a totalizing. All right. So the only advantage Ole Miss has in this game is QB and a much better scoring offense. However, Ole Miss is banged up. No lacy multiple offensive line injuries may take away some of this advantage. This has been thinking the spread is too high. I'll stay away from the full game and take Auburn plus seven and a half in the first half. Auburn covered this line against Georgia Tennessee and UF. The only time they didn't was LSU last weekend and LSU is getting healthy. Unfortunately Ole Miss is not give me Auburn first half plus seven and a half. A lot of emoji to the emoji. Anybody got Auburn Ole Miss play? Do not. No. There are only an Ole Miss, but yeah, a lot of no thank you. Rocky one lacy just. Yeah. Well, we it had been suggested not by any like superiors but just by peers that we leave a little bit of of room between the dentist and the club just because the dentist man like overstepped his balance a little bit, right? Yeah, we had had to but I think we've allowed for a little bit of growth. We've allowed for everyone to really stay focused on the task at hand. We got some training. And now I think that we can safely provide a cover three buffer to be able to take it to the one place, the only place where the tunes are bumping and the vibes are high. Let's take it on down to the club. This chair is not as mobile as my other ones. Can I ask one question. Sure. When you were thinking about who was going to play the saxophone, was I in the conversation? Like, was I considered? I'm the producers, plain. Talk to a striker. He made the video. Maybe own people can. Yeah. Yeah, that's walk on down the hall, knock on the door. Yeah. I was going to stay silent because I thought it was just me, but a couple of people on Twitter were like, should have been Kens. All right. I'm just saying if we're going to actually pull receipts on this, Barton's got you on episode count and might actually lap you on episode count, you know, like cover. This isn't what have you done for me lately, League, okay? I've covered three. It was not the reason, but when we're picking the name cover three and transitioning from the 24 seven sports college football podcast, a real mouthful to be able to drop every single time you're trying to tell someone to listen to your podcast. His number at Yale was three. And so we are a kind of actually honoring our former co-host with it with the name as well. Sure. Okay. How are we doing? Hey, listen, I just wanted to know if I was a thought. If it was just like an auto like you're better than being a pick me girl, Kens. Come on. Let's go. It's fine. I'll make my own AI videos. Yes. Come on. Well, here we go. Chip was not AI in that. That's just true. No, I'm sorry. I mean, why would I? Okay, two picks. Then I also have an HQ segment. I'm being yelled at in seven minutes. Usually I'm here on the numbers plays. But this is like a vibes play at this point, the season where who is specifically looking for style points did this a lot last season with Ole Miss and their team total knowing they had to really, you know, win in style. And you know that Lane, when he was there knew what the spread was, knew what the team total was, etc. I think UCLA is in a very similar situation at this point. So I would like to take their team total over. I've seen 31s, 33s. We have them for 37. If you're playing Nevada and you're still only minus 115 to make the playoff as an undefeated team, like I think that coaching staffs young enough to understand what needs to be done here with the style points. So I like their team total against Nevada. And then similar mindset would be with Nebraska to cover the spread as well. I believe it's seven and a half, but another team that technically is on the outside looking in. But if there is a shot, like they have to be winning convincingly. So two teams in the playoff style point era right now. I feel like both of those good at it. And Nebraska's home road splits are pretty phenomenal. So just Nebraska spread not team total. Correct. UCLA team total and Nebraska spread. Alright, get you 32 and a half on the UCLA team total and Nebraska minus seven and a half. There's no seasons out there, right? No. What was the UCLA team total? 32 and a half, 32. And that's what Ole Miss was rocking late in the season too. They were like 30. I mean, it was a little lower than that, but they weren't playing Nevada respectfully. Wrong one. No, that's the same one chip. Come on. With YouTube. I just didn't know if the team total was that high. UCLA only asked to win by one. They still have a zero in the loss column. Yeah, they're if they go 10 and two, like, yeah. I had actually, I had actually sort of hint like circled Nevada plus 22 and a half. But if you're going to throw out that gaudy number over 30 with the way that UCLA's offense has been playing, they are in a take care of business. Stay healthy, shorten the game, run the football, get stops. I'll go on the other side. Give me that UCLA team total under. And we'll turn this into a little bit of a lock fight here in the club. I might get thrown out. I know that you've got bouncers that that can definitely throw even my buffed up AI upper body. It would still get shocked. Yeah, I think that this is a business game for the Bruins. I don't think you prove anything. You beaten a bad business style though. What are they? You see you see a mission at the end of the year? I don't think what are they style for? Yeah, they've got a zero in the loss column. If they don't need to, they're big 10 team. Oh, that's what Ken says. I don't know about that. I think that depends on what happens. You've got to put the rich factor into the model. It's not rigged. It's it's personal. Influence factor. Influence. Yeah, it is human influence. Right. It's not rigged. It's human influence. It is a it is. What if you get all these like 11 and one big 12 teams? They're big 12. Yeah. They do play. They do play each other. Look, because because leaving UCLA out, UCLA out in the scenario would mean you only take two big 10 teams. And that's just not happening. If it like, like, if it was, I just don't think they're going to be USC and Michigan. I'm not sold on a 10 and two UCLA. I will. I'll use the L.A. heel. You have just you have dug your heels in deep. I know it's such a good Twitter rage beat. They love it out there. It's not even my opinion. I just like read the odds. I'm like, wow, that's pretty crazy. Yeah. The fans will make it. Well, we are going to get our America decides first rankings release coming up here shortly. So that will change all the, I mean, changes the market, changes the odds, changes. It'll be the first time that this collection will, you know, Gus Malzone cycling in and bringing his experience, Doug Gillan cycling in and bringing his experience. We can see we've got like three new committee members. We don't know what their impact is on the committee. So we got to wait to find that out on Tuesday. Unless you have an 11 and one or a third big 10 team that is 10 and two, I could see them getting left out if you're already giving three to the big 10. Right. Which is possible. But I think if they are the third, like, that's Lock City to me. I think 11 and one's Lock City. I would not put 10 and two at Lock City. I think that would require very likely other things helping them out. They're 10 and two and they lose the last two in a row. I think that hurts them. I think they could be out. Recent season brutal in this in this world. Man, 10 and 0 to out of the playoff in a big 10 that has say over the whole dag on format. Not as much as the other people to have some, but not as much as the SEC. All right. Best of luck for me on one of your picks. Worst of luck on the other one. And thank you very much. - Thank you, Tim. - Please do not be late for your appearance. We appreciate it. I'll make sure I get the right one here for your tunes playing it out. - Appreciate it. I'm trying to-- - I probably shouldn't be saying this. - What? - I'm probably shouldn't be saying this, but I'm really trying to get them to send me on the road with you guys wherever you go. So that's a good word for me. - We gotta get our subscriber count up. So tell the cover three tailgate, make sure that they subscribe. We don't get let out of the house until we hit our next subscriber. So please get the subscribes up. We appreciate it. - Yeah, then we can all party together, guys. Come on. - Yeah. - Let's go. - All right, good. (upbeat music) - All right. I think I could potentially have one left, but if I'm feeling squirrely, but I could also be out. How is everybody else looking with the remainder of the card? - I have three left. - Okay. - Let's go Tom. - We'll go back to the well again with this one. Colorado State Utah State over 63 and a half. Just points, points, points, points, points, points, points, points in every single Colorado State game it never ends and I don't want it to. And then let's see. I will take, go to the other side. Under 54 and a half in Illinois, Maryland. I, Illinois won their game last week. They're still limited offensively with what they have at quarterback right now. Now, maybe going on the road I would expect. They'll still have more of a conservative approach and Illinois's run game has kind of just gotten going in the last few weeks when they made some changes to their offensive line personnel. They've been a much better run blocking unit and they're leaning more into it. And I don't know if the market's caught up to that yet and they're also moving pretty slowly. And then Maryland, we'll see what they look like in their first game post-locks. And then finally, and I have a hint that I might not be the only people on this play. I will take Georgia's Southern minus five. Just, I like that number. Just, I don't like App State in this spot going on the road to State's bro. Is somebody else on it? - It's time for the producer pick. (soft piano music) - When we can join Tom on his last pick of the day, we bring out the lock. It might be a couple's costume, but since Taps on the road, I had to just break it out by myself. So we got the key in the lock, but I'm just solo here. It looks like a best when I have it down on camera. (laughing) We gotta go with a beautiful, beautiful situation when Striker pulls out the Halloween costumes. And that is with the ultimate he's still in the lead guy in Max Johnson. I mean, this guy was a freshman in college when I was a freshman in college. That was six years ago. Now he is at Georgia Southern coming off a buy. Danny talked about teams coming off a big win. That's what we have here in App State after they shocked Jamie and overtime last week. Georgia Southern has beaten this team three times in a row now, including twice last year, both in the regular season and in a bowl game. Let's lay that five. - And then to go a little deeper, Georgia Southern, six and one against the spread this year, including three in oh at home. And we know it's on Halloween. What if I told you, Georgia Southern, four in oh all time in Halloween games, including the last one 2019 against Appalachian State? - Hmm. - What if I told you? (laughing) - Listen, this is like the number. (laughing) - How'd you spot this one? Where did this one come from? How'd you sniff this one out? - Looking for teams in the let down spot. The hangover spot. We're gonna go to Oklahoma with South Carolina coming to town, but we're not trusting. - That wasn't the way you listen. You collect them all, you find the best one. That's the locks process. That's the locks. That's the locks. - Also an ultimate rivalry game name, the deeper than hate game. - Yeah. - Georgia State and App State. - You gotta throw out the record books. - Got it. - We'll do it together. - That's your books are gone. (laughing) - Love it. I give it up for the producers pick. They've been dialed in all year. They got the locks. We appreciate it. Striker and Taft. Quick point of concern before we start to really hit our closing stretch here. - I've got UCLA team total under 33 and a half minus 111. - Oh, where'd you see that? I'll tell you what I saw. - Hit that. - Yeah. - Yeah. - It was 32 and a half at a different book that. - Okay. - Yeah. That would be the moments, you know. I was sitting there as I wait a second. If I can get a 33 and a half, that could be significant. - A lot of games ended 32. - What? - Lot of teams end up with 32 points. - Well, 33 and a half mean 33 does show up. - Sorry, 33, my bad. - Yeah. - Whatever. - All right, well, what else do we want to hit? - Gimme Syracuse getting nine and a half against SMU. SMU, we've seen them in this place before. Like they're just, they're setting up pretty for a big matchup where they host Wake Forest. They probably look at Notre Dame game. Circle, that is a big potential win. Steve and Jelly is back in the lineup for the orange. That SMU defense, I am not sold on. I think they can score a lot. Could be a shootout vibes, but nine and a half points is too many for the home dog. - I got you a good news for you, Danny. - Yeah, 10 and a half. - For maybe 10 years. - But like this got bad during the show. So you can get 10 and a half now. - All right. - Perfect. - Let's go say I love that. - I don't like the bet, but I'd rather get you 10 and a half than nine and a half. - Thank you, especially. - And then I need a three star lock. I'll get my last one out of the way. Let me go to the birthplace of college football to Piscataway, New Jersey, where Rutgers is playing host to Michigan, come into town. Now I know Rutgers has been a little bit of a sieve versus the good defense. It's 40 plus points. They surrender to Indiana, Northwestern. But this Michigan offense is not those. Tommy Carr is getting the start again. KJ Duff actually makes me a little bit scared that he could score some touchdown. The big physical receiver, but I think Michigan's defense is really good. Big 10 unders have been cash in. I'll make it my three star lock under 45 and a half. - Let's go. - Okay. - You know, the only. - I hear you're feeling extra nice. - No, no, no, no. It's 45 and a half. It's just like it's your three star lock, right? So you're committing yourself to being invested in Michigan Rutgers. - Yeah. - That is my only problem with this move. - But it is that noon when I have to watch all these games anyway, because I'll be in studio. So it makes that one not this one. And what everybody's gonna be irritated is when I ask them to move it to the middle one and go sound up. - Come on guys, it's 20 to three with 20 minutes left. I'm locked in. - Yeah, like people think we're biased against teams. No, we are biased against our days, okay? Like I go, I try to go light in those hours leading up to the podcast starting, 'cause I don't want to be thinking about a lock, right? I want to be thinking. - Even better, this is why I love the chat. Gayjay Duff is out. - Oh. - Man, make it a six star lock. - Good. - Take all the stars I've gotten and put them on this one. Uncut chimps type bet right here. For Danny, just like on the line. - Let's stall a little bit. - Okay, here's one thing I was thinking of. There were a lot of games that it sounds like we all looked at and might have be excited to talk about it, but not necessarily feeling the most confident in terms of a best bet. I was glad the dentist was able to get in there with Auburn Ole Miss. Then we just had reference from Taft to South Carolina, Oklahoma. It is a game between two, four and three teams with individuals that are going to be playing in the NFL. It is a tight spread under a touchdown. I have no clue what to expect, which is why I haven't said a word about it here on Locks. The obvious after the upset factor has to be taken into consideration. Maybe Oklahoma got some confidence after being able to get multiple kind of plays, moving the ball down the field. What are the overall expectations here between the game cocks and the Sooners? - Blood. I don't know. - I don't know. - I don't know. For me, I still think Oklahoma's clawing away, but I think their defense is still really good, but Lenora Sellers is kind of kryptonite to good defenses 'cause he can do with his legs. Nothing would surprise me in this game. I could see Oklahoma win by 10 and I could see South Carolina win and outright. I have no idea. - I don't want to make Danny watch that game alone, so I'm going to jump out in the Rutgers team total under 14 and a half. - Oh, what a guy. - Yeah, let's go. - Oh, God. Missouri is playing Arkansas. I've already checked our hunting calendar. Our glorious two weeks will be opening soon, but they have not opened yet. The white tailed deer will be in the rut soon, but that is not where we are quite yet. Arkansas home game rival Missouri in town. I don't see anything positive that could happen for the Tigers here. It's not like a big win is going to change the way anyone talks about Missouri, but Arkansas, can saw Ryan Silverfield year one knows how much a win here could mean. Is there any upset danger here? Or do we think Missouri? Missouri is a better football team in a vacuum wins this game a ton. 745 PM Eastern time 645 local in Fayetteville, not a vacuum. What do we think? I thought about laying Missouri in the first half, but I wanted four. So we're not getting that. I think like to get off the mat, like, you know, take a swing spot for Arkansas. I was pretty priced in here. So for me, it's Missouri or past. Northwestern at Oregon. We talked about a little bit on big game breakdown. I got another game where there could potentially be to big talking points coming out of it, but yet in a spread's tight, I got no clue. Are you are you ready to bet on Oregon's downfall with Northwestern and Altson Stadium? Like, is that how confident you're feeling in Oregon's downfall? I mean, if I get if I get a flat three, then I might go small on Oregon here for the duck, like just to say, you can't come on. That number is so small for the bodies that are out there on lining up for the ducks. Yeah, I just hope everybody best Northwestern game day. So I can scoop some really cheap Oregon going back to that game last week. Illinois broke some big plays in the run game. Had some explosives which helped them put points on the board. But overall, Oregon's defense was still very good. And as I said, I'll last said on Saturday and I said, if Oregon had just stuck to running the ball, they would have won that game. They fired their offensive coordinator who was bringing out like, like just weird swinging gate plays when they just had to stick to, you know, ham and cheese sandwiches to win. I have a feeling Oregon's going to have a much more basic. Let's just run the ball kind of approach here. And it might look a little bit better this week. Any other games that we did not get a chance to to mention that I can think of in terms of like sort of big, big ones that people are going to be talking about are watching any leans or thoughts. But what are you looking at? Yeah. Give me Baylor first half, pick him. I was waiting the whole show to see if you see half might get bet. I could get a cheaper price on plus a half, but it didn't happen. So go ahead and give me Baylor, pick him first half Friday night. You really waited the whole show. We were talking about that. Yeah. 70 minutes ago. But hey, it's before we've read that it's before we read the recap. So it is officially still still in the realm. I set the odds at minus 175 that I will forget to update that pick because on Thursday and Friday night, I'll just be looking at the top of the dock, whereas Baylor's now at the bottom. I'll completely forget that one. It'll be on Saturday night. I'll be like, well, yeah, what the hell happened in that game? And I'll update the dock. Striker's going to have to cut that out because this air's on Saturday. Right. You look so happy to make him work. End of the show. We can just chop it, you know, and that's fair. That's fair. I guess Striker has to spend a little less time searching for costumes and making AI videos. Let's review the week nine action that we've got on the board. But has Florida State minus five and a half FAU plus 14 and a half of high state minus six and a half Minnesota plus 21 North Carolina plus 14 and a half old to many plus three Purdue Penn State under 55 in C state minus six and a half Boston college plus seven and a half and Baylor first half pick them. Chips. Got North Carolina first quarter team total over three and a half Florida, Georgia, first half under 28 and a half Ohio State minus six and a half Arizona, Texas Tech under 55 hit minus seven and a half Oklahoma state team total over 34 and a half Boston college Duke under 48 and a half Louisville team total over 41 and a half UCLA team total under 33 and a half Danny's on Florida State minus five and a half Florida, Georgia, first half under 28 and a half Minnesota, Indiana under 42 and a half Arizona plus three and a half North Carolina plus 14 and a half Cincinnati plus seven Purdue plus nine and a half Notre Dame minus 30 and a half Syracuse plus 10 and a half and the Michigan Rutgers under 45 and a half times locked in on Florida State minus five and a half Florida plus 12 and a half Ohio State USC under 51 and a half Arizona Texas Tech under 55 Mississippi State team total under 14 and a half Oklahoma state minus eight and a half Wake Forest minus 12 and a half Colorado State Utah State over 63 and a half Illinois, Maryland under 54 and a half Georgia Southern minus five and Rutgers team total under 14 and a half and now it's time for the money line sprinkles. Last week on the sprinkle report, but brought it home with white oaming plus 181. I was able to get back a little sprinkles on top for Kansas. Thank you very much and Arizona State, some big 12 sprinklin, Danny also there with Kansas as well and Tom, he told you he told you you CF and I L L, a couple nice wins for Tom to be able to really jump back into these jump back into the top of the sprinkle competition. So, Tom, with a couple winners and a couple nice ones at that, 223 and 305, why don't you get a start with the started with sprinkles for this week. I mentioned this earlier in the show and now we've got Brandon in the check, right? Tom, why nothing from Wisconsin, Iowa, well, there is something from Wisconsin, Iowa, Brandon, give me Wisconsin plus 150 just to win it out, right? Chaos team, anytime they're a dog might as well throw them on there, don't worry about the spread. Coastal plus 194, every Johnson is out and that really flipped the line to Colorado being favored against Kansas State, but do you really want to bet on Colorado as a favorite? Are we really sure that they are still not capable of losing to a Kansas State, even without every Johnson, give me Kansas State plus 115, Danny wanted the points. I don't give me Purdue plus 285 and wouldn't it be hilarious, USC plus 223? Oh, it would, it would be funny, the, it would be insufferable in some ways, but funny, but certainly funny. Okay, I will take Wisconsin plus one, what'd you say, 150, okay, I've got Cincinnati plus 210? I feel like some of my numbers aren't always the best numbers, you know, yeah, that would be going into the nip, something that's been mentioned here already, give me Boston College plus 245, I do think they have been playing some better football as of late, did not imagine that I would be watching these locker room video celebrations of Boston College where they really do feel like they are all in having some success and having some what? Having some success and enjoying, enjoying the 2026 season and then I don't, I do the idea of unity is so important to me, but what's done is done, give me clump plus 180. Here comes the dabbo boy, put my money, where my mouth is, does he do a rant if he does, does he like go up there and you saw us, I was told we were cooked and I was done, he's been saving him up all year, I know that's true, he hasn't gotten a chance, there was one like the small one against Carolina and then, you know, yeah, yeah, all right, Danny, I will take the Purdue as well, I already took them with the points, but why not get the win outright, I will take Arizona plus 160, I already took them with the picks as well, why not take them for the outright win and then the Chip Kelly revenge game, give me Northwestern, I am worried about Oregon, we saw this last year with Penn State, a team that was picked to buy a lot of people to win a national championship, it makes a lot more sense to me when this Oregon team looks less than enthusiastic, since Dante Moore has been out kind of going through the motions, now that he's out officially, I don't feel that much better about it, Chip Kelly's going to be in his bag, and Aiden Childs can get it done, hmm, hmm, I mean this, there's, there would be something about the experience, imagine you've been having season tickets in Austin Stadium for the last 10 years, right? Watching Northwestern come into your house and beat you would, with Chip, yeah, that would be painful, that'd be painful, all right, but we'll be sprinkling, all right, I mean, I can't get off this number, Virginia plus 450, I mean, that is a big number, that's, yeah, UAB plus 280, go down to USF, San Jose State hosting Mexico plus 549, that's just, I just feel like it's tighter than that, man, I couldn't do it because I, I've declared to Mexico a wagon, so I got here sprinkling the Spartans, but yeah, it was very much in the, in the, in the running, like, all right, Georgia Tech plus 270, I mean, I just like, I think you get a lot of variance with these, with these QBs, and Miami looks sharp, but also like pit looked awful, so, you know, maybe they get off the mat, maybe they don't, Arizona State plus 600, this is just like, by the bottom, price. You know, like they're going to be why you I think it's closer to five And give me Washington plus two set me five in Lincoln Ah, like is Nebraska really that trustworthy and I don't like this washed in team obviously, but Nobody else does either like If Nebraska loses that game Are we in like serious Matt rule watch we're not in serious extension. I know but like Well, we're not in serious Matt rule watch. We just have to really wonder what Indian burial ground they dug up I mean like that is like true cursed type stuff like just not allowed to have success. I'll just like If Nebraska loses that game. I know rule just got the huge contract extension But Baylor's open You had success there Maybe you start wondering I don't know. Maybe you want to restart things. Maybe you just looking for I don't know It's just I mean this would be like what the four straight year where they start out hot and then they just completely collapse down the stretch Well, his top 25 wins were at temple. I mean if you want to like take him to where he said the most success You know, who do you think he's gonna have success there? It's Nebraska. Yeah, I yeah, like I think you know, they're kind of paying for their their prior sins of some really bad Staffires by Matt early on you know, some of those old recruiting classes. I didn't like like I I like what they're doing now I just think it's gonna take a little time to have but they like to see the dividends and their schedule this year is Way harder even with the big 10 being down than it was in prior years like they squandered a cupcake schedule an absolute gift for the prior two years Kind of the reverse Wisconsin, you know, and now they got two years of pretty tough Mm-hmm. All right, so any other sprinkles. That's it Beefy's beefy sprinkles But sprinkling Virginia UAB San Jose State Georgia Tech Arizona State in Washington I've got Wisconsin Cincinnati Boston College and Clinton sin Purdue Arizona Northwestern for Danny and Wisconsin U.S. C. Coastal Kansas State and Purdue for Tom Whoo, and those are your money line sprinkles for week nine Great week nine show. Great job. Where would you rank it among our our week nine shows? Like lockspots in history like is this a top five week nine locks pod top 10. It is not it is not a Halloween week locks pod that tops bud in the undertaker costume. That's true Not only was the costume excellent, but I think it was even a surprise reveal for us. Mm-hmm. Yeah Yeah, that one that one still probably takes takes the cake in terms of this time of year So I would we'll say top three Tom. We're costumeed up on Saturday night, right? I mean gotta be It's the last time we had an actual Saturday Halloween 22 years 2020 The next one is 2037 2020 would a great Halloween year though. I know there was no one of games. There was a guy was awful Did you had to stand six feet away from the door they put the candy on the porch and then went back inside you walked up And took it and then you sprayed some lice all on it put it in your bag and went to the next house This is what we pretend we all live in Chicago like Tom and I tell us no, no, we were under armed guards here Tbd, but my costume might be working, you know, like we'll see My might have the usual, you know, Viori Sunday joggers with a button down over top, you know, just kind of it Hopefully it's a great like if you have a costume It's just the top like you know, whether it's like a race car driver jacket or something like that. That's good to pair it with Yep, and maybe just maybe I'll be wearing this home field jacket celebrating a Tar Heel's victory.
