Week 8 Waiver Wire: The BEST Pickups & Streamers to Add Right Now | Fantasy Focus
1h 2m 42s
The podcast recap centers on a mix of fantasy football strategy, injury updates, and team performance analysis following a Monday night football game. Key highlights include Javonte Williams’ clutch 21.5 fantasy-point game against the Cowboys, which shifted the game’s momentum and sparked discussion on running back depth, especially with Sayquan Barkley and Damien Pierce struggling with injuries or limited playtime. Aaron Jones’ “day to day” status is seen as a positive but uncertain factor. The hosts also review long-shot fantasy picks, noting a disappointing 28% hit rate, and emphasize the need for better selection strategies. Quarterback streaming is evaluated with Geno Smith and Kirk Cousins as top options due to recent strong performances and favorable matchups. Running back depth is analyzed, with Jonah Coleman, Dylan Samson, and Helen Black highlighted as potential bench pickups. Wide receivers like Omar Cooper Jr. and tight end Hunter Henry are noted for their matchup value, while Brian Thomas Jr. is identified as a tradeable asset with strong upside. The discussion concludes with reflections on overreliance on injured players and the importance of monitoring depth, especially as the trade deadline approaches. A lighthearted segment on fantasy “haunted house” memories and regretful draft choices adds a personal touch, underscoring how inconsistent players and poor decision-making can impact fantasy success. Overall, the recap serves as both a strategic update and a humorous reminder of the unpredictability in fantasy football.
[MUSIC] >> What's good friends, welcome into fantasy focus. Football alongside Mike Clay, you feel Jace, my name is Daniel Dopp. You're on a Tuesday to recap Monday night. Football diving into some wave or wire. We're going to have a little bit of fun too at a fantasy haunted house. It's going to be, Michael, way to go, thank you. >> Wow, way to go. >> I'm going to dress up on Friday. >> They used to do that back in the day, like in the 30s. They would have like a guy behind a thing and they would, you would be the sound effect for the radio show that's happening. You know, and think about how good you'd be at my special skill, guys. >> I guess you're good at that business. >> Anyways, this past weekend we went to a Halloween party and there was a haunted house and my middle of my three children realized that. So the incentive, we said, if you, we asked a friend, where do they get this bag of candy they were carrying? And they said, oh, well, it's at the end of the haunted house. So we went over to the haunted house. My oldest and my middle came with me and they were definitely not interested in going into this haunted house and being scared as they saw other kids like practically crying on their way out of it. So my middle, we walk up there and she was like, hold on and just sprints around it and goes and grabs like three bags of candy for them to come back. She could hear some of the, ooh, from inside that. >> That's adorable. >> All that gaming system. >> That's right. >> The irony is my oldest, if you kind of open, she would probably bleed a Tootsie roll. My little one is like zero interest in sweets whatsoever. >> No way. >> No sense. Yeah. >> Oh, that's funny. >> You put a bagel with butter in front of her, domination. >> She's in. >> Yeah. >> You give her a cupcake and she's like, she'll lick it once and then throw it away. >> I love that. >> I love that. >> But yeah. >> All right, you're Mr. Not sweets guy. >> Yeah, once in a while. Once in a while. But yeah, I lean away from it. >> Yeah. >> It's not good for you guys. >> Everything in moderation. >> Everything in moderation except for fantasy football guys that you do as much as you want without having to worry about it. I don't know. Retrophysmack.com. Use the promo code trophy. We get 10% off your order over there. Grab yourself a trophy or a belt or a chain for your league. Let's dive into a little bit of news here. Mike, who is going to headline the Super Bowl halftime show? Uh, X Y. It's some two letters. It's a two letter guy. ST. That's what it is. H O V. Oh, I've heard it, easy. Okay. So that's high praise for any music maker. All right. That's what he looks very angry in that photo. It's like he just got the Super Bowl, but he doesn't look happy about it. I know why because the Eagles aren't going to be playing it. That's what it is. That's what it is. That's fair. So isn't the really interesting part about being the halftime show artist is that don't you have to pay to be the halftime show artist? That's a great question. So I believe it's I think the dynamic in play here is that the artist pays to be the headlining act. Yeah. But the boost that you get in the various music services, right? Yes, one's presented by Apple music. So certainly Apple music at the very top of it. Like right after the halftime show, these artists all go to the top of the charts, right? Because it's on the mind of 50 plus million people domestically. And then, you know, probably another 50 million globally. And they all skyrocket to the top of the charts, which not like JZ is some like, you know, mid-tier card performer. But apparently the idea is that you have to pay, but you end up getting more. Yes. What you pay. So everybody wins in the end. That's how the field pays to be on the show. That's exactly right to be on the show. Yep. So you get more followers on we said that was secrets news. Well, now it's out there. Okay. Field Road is a poem that says, if you have a money problems, I feel bad for you, son. I got 99 problems, but a bag ain't one. Right. Go follow me on threads. I feel the ace. Oh, I love it. Go. See, you got your, you got your boost. All right. Actually, I got I just got content starts at 10 0 3 35 a.m. A little bit of Aaron Jones news really quickly. This happened at the very end of the show. Just want to make sure that everyone knows about Aaron Jones, injury, not as significant as we had initially thought it was going to be. We got a tweet from Adam Schefter saying that he is not considered to be not considered to be significant at this time. And they describe him as day to day. So good news there on Aaron Jones. But I hear day to day, usually the player plays the next game. If it's week to week, they do not. So I suspect it'll be ago. The good news is he doesn't have to play 80% of the snaps. Jordan Mason's there. I'll handle most of the carries and defer passing down work to Aaron Jones. But I'll be projecting. As if it's everything's normal for the time being. The bad news is they're about to get smashed by Detroit lions. No big deal this weekend. No big deal. I don't know about that. But I just wanted to make. We'll see a little better defensively for your lions last week. Yeah. A little bit better. Little worse factor. That's right. You guys could use Brian branch in the Eagles secondary as they got smashed this week. Monday night football recap. Unfortunately for Mike and the Eagles 38 to 21 for the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas did some things that none of us in fantasy football are very happy about, including running. They're starting running back at the very end of the game. When they didn't need a touchdown. But they wanted to get it to make sure that field could win starts of the week. You share about that. Why don't you go ahead and take over here field because I don't even want to talk about the rest of the day. Javonte Williams didn't have a single catch last night or told me that going into the game. I'd say to myself, I am nervous. Javonte Williams at halftime at 58 rushing yards. I needed 20.2 fantasy points to tie Daniels. So 20.21 to win. I'm not even sure what we would do in the event of a starts of the week tie. But low and behold, second half Cowboys come out there running. And by the way, do you want they just a really good player? Look, I very much enjoy watching him. He runs hard. He runs effectively. But if you're not thrown on the ball at all. Yeah, it's, you know, it's an uphill battle to get to 20 to get to the end of one fantasy points. And what happens with just two minutes and some seconds left to go. Why did Vante Williams do yards out? Were they going to lose if they didn't score that touchdown? No, they weren't Daniel. But I told you guys this before the show. Not only did I win, or I guess eclipse, Daniel and starts of the week. So avoid punishment. Three leagues of mind were determined on that Javonte Williams touchdown. Good for you, baby. Like things were swung in a matchup on that last second touchdown from Javonte Williams. We gets 21.5 fantasy points. And I think the cool part about this game for the Cowboys is that we always say in our analysis during the week. It's like, you know, they kind of know what the Cowboys are, right? It's quarterback two wide receivers and running back. Yep. And that was the case last night as 23.28 fantasy points for deck, 21.5 for Javonte Williams, 24.4 for CDLAM and 15.7 for George Pickens. That's like as orderly of an outcome for the Cowboys as you could imagine. Pickens touchdown catch was ridiculously good. So beautiful. CDLAM had a couple of great catches as he is wants to do. It's still clearly CDLAM over George Pickens, but Cowboys are pretty easy. The Eagles, Mike's Eagles are the complicated side of this. Yeah, much tougher now, especially when you're talking about the running backs here, Mike, with all the things that happen in this game. Yeah. 10 snaps for Sayquan Barkley. 7 for 62 and a touchdown. He came out firing. He looked good. Had maybe a little bit of a setback mix in there. It's hard to tell if he just wasn't fully healthy coming in or if he tweaked things. I know his back was an issue as well. So he's dealing with a few things. He looked great when the ball was in his hands. Yeah. But he just could not stay out there on the field. So he was limited. Damien Pierce played a lot in this game. He had 14 carries for 47 yards. Also had a touchdown. Very little involvement in the passing game for the running backs in this one. So we were talking about this before the show. This is going to be a situation where we have to monitor all week long. So tough. The sake one healthy enough to be to play more in this game. If he's going to play 10 snaps again, we're not going to we don't want to start him. Yeah. I know he scored in this game, but you can't count on seven carries and two targets to get you RB two numbers. Damien Pierce also left the game in the fourth quarter and went to the locker room. We don't have much information on that right now. If Barclay's out and Pierce goes, then he's the starter. Yeah. But what if Pierce and Barclay are out then we're looking at Elijah Mitchell who filled in and at G you know, he had some mistakes as well. He booted the kick return opportunity. So this is one for later in the week. We'll continue to keep eyes on this one. We'll be preview the equals next game later this week. Again, swashington. We'll talk a little bit about what it's going to look like. If Damien Pierce hadn't left the game or if we got some information this morning, like a he had cramps, he's fine. I'd be saying when we get the waivers, you should add them just in case because they want his clearly laboring. Who knows with the team now at what two and five, they should be making bigger picture decisions. He leaves the game late. He eventually does return. I'm sorry, he does not return. So you're sitting here like, I mean, you could add Damien Pierce, but we could get a tweet tomorrow morning from Adam Schaefter saying he's expected to miss multiple weeks. And I just don't think Elijah Mitchell would inspire much confidence as a week eight starter. Feel really bad for sake one. I really do because to your point, he was looking awesome. The best we've seen sake one look all season, but it's also very obvious. Just so much pain. He was in from the get go basically. Yeah. They want to put the team on his back, but they just can't right now. He's not healthy enough. By the way, he heard his back. He's healthy. Yeah. If he's healthy a few weeks from now, he could be a league winner potentially. I mean, they still have to play the games and he's going to be a huge part of it if he's healthy, but he's just not right now. By the way, one more thing. Mikhail Lemon cuts seven of eight targets for 67 yards and a touchdown. It's going to be a forward. Yeah. First touchdown. This offense, I think is, I mean, not saying anything bold here, probably going to struggle throughout the rest of the season with Tanner McKee out there who's been fine. He's holding down the four. It was a good matchup, but lemon. Maybe this gets him into the flex conversation. Remember done TV and wicks, Devont A Smith were both out Wednesday returns going to make it harder for lemon to be a consistent factor in fantasy. So if he's out there on waivers, I'm not super aggressive about this one. Maybe put a dollar out there throwing my bench in case he's a number one receiver again this week against Washington, but not spending up too much. Okay. Let's move ahead and talk about long shots and we'll check in on starts of the week here, guys. Long shots for this week. Pretty easy. Honestly,
none of us hit unfortunately. I had two to at well. Field at Jalen Brooks. Mike Breven span four. At least went with the tight end position and then the producers had Will Mallory. I'm telling you, it was Mason Taylor this week. He was 0.3% rostered. We've had him a couple weeks in a row and didn't use him this week. Finally got in the end zone twice. Super frustrating. You know what this is? We screwed ourselves over. You know why? Because last year we were so good with our long shot picks. The game was easy to us. Yes. This game is humbling. Yes. Two out of seven, which still when you consider the percentages that we are picking players from is pretty good. That's a 28% hit rate. But we got to be better guys. And by the way, let's do better. That's on me. And Mike, because he hasn't hit either. It's on both of us. Is this what you guys felt like all last years? What I feel like right now, like I already hit. And you guys are really just feeling embarrassed. It's just one. Yeah, I'm embarrassed for you. You just need one hit all year. Oh, yeah, it makes it just hit it one time. It is for me. And this is probably not very good thing to reveal out my golf game. But like I could go triple, triple double. And if I hit a birdie on the four, if I make a birdie on the fourth hole, I'm like, you know what? If you only count the holes that I birdied, I'm one under for the day. I'm doing well. Well, I need. I love that. Let's do a start to the week. Check in as well. Mike, we're going to start with your squad. How'd your team look? It looks good because I went with the old Packer stack. We're in love. Jaylen Warren, Matthew Golden, Tucker Kraft. Actually 58.36. I could have lost with that number. So it's fine. I don't know. I mean, it was a fine day. It was enough to win. I don't know. You just have to not be the slowest bear, right? That's exactly right. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Next one up here. You really get dominant performance from my squad. Dominant. Dominant Aaron Rodgers, 13.08. Jalen Goker, 1.9. Sam Laporta, 2.8. Vante Williams. My guy, 21.5. Fantasy points to get me to 39.28. Again, ugly. Ugly. But. Not the ugliest. Not the ugliest. No, let's take a look at my squad. Just got him. Bryce Young, gross. 5.4. Braille and Alan did some things. Christian Watson. Also wasn't bad. 10.7. Not as good though. And then Isaiah, likely 3.238.72. Fantasy points. Fival. It's a fantasy fun. You need to like one more catch. I know. Or one more broken tackle. Anything. Anything, honestly. So I've got my punishment wheel here. I had six points. Was how many I won by last. 0.56. 0.56. That's crazy. Vante Williams can go suck a butt for all of it. How I feel about that. I don't really show, dude. By the way, the segment we're doing this year, I feel great about it. Good. Oh, look at me. I'm mine. I'm going to pay punishment up one last night. One loss. Yeah. We should that should never happen again. All right. We obviously replaced the, you have to pick out the loser's punishment. Yeah. Is there anything else that we added to this that? Everything is everything. So we have a Californian start of the week. So you've got to pick only from California. No, it's the SNL skit where they talk like Californians the entire time. You have to deliver your entire lineup like that. That's that dude. Yes. That's exactly it. So that's what it is. So we got a couple things in there. We also got Chad's choice, which we will figure out the day of. So here we go, guys. I'm going to spin it for that. That's not your actual spin. No, no, no, no. Here we go. Three, two, one. It's a really good spin. Salt spin here for everyone listening. One block away from safe by the bars. Hi, I'm fantasy high guy. Yeah, you did a pretty good job. You got a pretty good. There's five seven five. Is that what it is? I believe it's five seven five. All right. Like five syllables and then seven syllables and then five syllables. Five syllables. All right. Okay. Pressures on. Remember, I wrote three. But we have one of them written up here. Yes, there it is. 10 points to win. 57 yard touchdown. Flag on the play. Pain. Pain. Pain. Oh, which was not on there. Oh, yes. Mike Clay smarts. Farts. Smell bad. It's a good start. That's five, right? Okay. All right. I got the first pitch. Yeah, you have told next week. All right. I have until. Oh, yeah. I just feel it's going to pay his off this week. Or whenever. You've told everyone figured out. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like between this week. All right, really quickly. Before we dive into the waiver. It's knockout League update. Our producers, Zach and Christina are eliminated. Here is a real photo of both Zach and Christina. Not edited at all. Not photoshopped. Photoshopped. Players hitting the waiver wire. Josh Allen. Because he was on a buy. Deandre Swift. Amari and Hampton. Jalen Coker. Tough week. Garrett Wilson. Tough week. Sam Laporta. Tough week. Was a not a great one for them. So we got a couple of people in our knockout league. Hitting the waiver wire. And with that. 11 teams remain. We're getting close, my friends. We're getting close. Let's dive into the week eight waiver wire here. Let's do it. As a reminder. A couple teams on a buy. Texans. Saints. Giants. And 49ers. At the quarterback spot, guys. I don't think that there is a priority ad. At this point of the season. We're just talking streamers. Right. Yes. I would agree. Yeah. Priority ad meaning like a guy that you add a plan on starting. Correct. That's not what this is. At this point of the season right now. Every once in a while. Because of an injury or something that happens. We'll have a priority ad. Geno Smith after a 23 point performance against Miami. Taken on the Las Vegas Raiders. Park cousins has four games over 20 fantasy points. Taken on the jets. Those are probably my top two for this week. I don't love either one of them. But I think they would be the two options that I would look at. Yeah, I agree. I kind of like Geno. He's coming off a good game. And by the way. Revenge game. Oh, that's right. Just prior team. The Raiders. So a little added incentive. Interesting. I looked a little closely at Geno. Because I wanted to see if maybe when the matchups good if he'll be appealing based on what he's done. So far this season. He's had two good games. One was Miami. One was your Detroit Lions in three when he had 26 fantasy points. Otherwise averaging 11.1 points per game. Four of those five games were against defenses 21st or lower in fantasy points per game. The exception there was the Bears where he was not great in that one either. But. There's two best games where against the two easiest matchups. This is an easy matchup against the Raiders this week. They've allowed six most touchdowns and fantasy points. Only some guy named Justin Herbert hasn't hit 16 and a half points against the Raiders this season. So the floor should be high for Geno. Why do you look at you when he said that? I don't know, but it's not cool. Nice. I'm just looking around. I could be looking anywhere. You guys just happen to be on this side. Okay. That's why I look over here trying to have a conversation. Okay. Got it. Got it. I also feel like Justin Herbert a lot. I'm trying to every time I think of Justin Herbert. I think my field failing. That's it. Oh. Oh. Field. So. So sorry, baby. It's not your fault. Seriously? Like five days a week with this guy. I know. Six days a week honestly with this guy. Seriously. Yeah. Great. Real question. Kirk Cousins has had more games. You said he's got. There's been two good games for a Geno. Yep. Because he said two good matchups. Kirk Cousins has had four good games over 20 fantasy points. He's the NFL in passing touchdowns. Do you still like Geno over Kirk Cousins there? I do. Playing each other this week. Yeah. I've Geno a little bit ahead. But you get streamable. Close. Yeah. You're in the right idea though. These are the two guys that are I think are the most obvious, potential streaming ads. The only other obvious one would be the quarterback that plays the Detroit Lions has always been good this week. I am out. You had me. I was out at Calamari. Yes. I'll talk about that more during our fantasy graveyard. Yeah. Sounds good. It's tough because the match. I mean Detroit did play better against love. But they've also allowed 17 plus to every quarterback. They have faced so far this season. Yeah. So if Murray's floor is around 17 points maybe, but your point will get more into that. By the way, one more note on Cousins. The only thing I'm scared about streaming him right now is if he struggles at half time, you might be like up there down by 10. It's time. It's coming in. Sure. It's going to happen this year unless they start winning games, which is unlikely. And by the way, Cursed playing fine. Like he's playing well, frankly. Yes. I agree. I think the leash is a little longer on him. Maybe a little bit, but I mean, it's got to be cool. If he starts struggling, it's going to be a quick hook. I think is they're still hanging in the playoff race. Yeah. Yeah. If they lose in games, they're going to give Mendoza a shot to bring him back. There's a reason you take a quarterback first overall. Let's talk about some running backs here. Whenever you have three running backs, you definitely have one running back then for Broncos. Yeah. Nailed it. Jonah Coleman feels like the guy that we would talk about here. We talked about him a little bit yesterday, guys. I don't think it's a priority ad, but I think maybe Mike does. I don't maybe you do as well. How do you feel about Jonah Coleman? Yeah. I think it's a priority ad just because there if something happens where it becomes a two-man backfield. Let's say JK Dobbins gets injured or something like that or certainly if RJ Harvey misses time. And maybe it doesn't even require that. I mean, maybe they like Coleman enough. The fact that he came off IR like that and immediately played half of the snaps and passed out JK Dobbins that quickly, which I did not expect. I thought he'd be a rotational guy. Tells me they like him a lot. He ran the ball well. He had two targets as well. And he ran six routes, but had some involvement there. And remember, the game before he got hurt at 13 touches, 58 yards into touchdown as well. That was week two. They tried to get him going. He comes back from IR. They get him going again. So it's going to be a factor here. Okay. So I think the I got caught up in these semantics of priority ad, but I understand with everything that you're saying and agree with it. He should be on benches, but he doesn't have standalone value yet. Yeah. Well, it could materialize potential, you know, you mean into something like, yes, you got to get this guy.
because it's like, because he's going to start this week because of something like he's and he got her Mike Washington's out there, being an auto star. Yeah. I got you. I got you. Let's talk about Dylan Samson. Also, only rostered in 8.7% elite guys, at least worth just like Jonah Coleman, not the same kind of guy, but worth having on the end of benches. Do you believe? I mean, I, yeah, I mean, he's the number two running back for Cleveland. If something happens to Quinshawn Judkins, he's probably in line for a healthy workload. But what does that mean to you right now in this backfield? Not priority. Yeah. But it means, okay, fine. A trotious year of waiver wire pickups. I'm okay with that in Dylan Samson. I feel like there's 15 running backs that could kind of like fit in this range where you're sort of just looking like RB twos that could maybe do something if a role materializes. Yeah, this one's less compelling to me than the next couple that we have coming up. But yeah, that's fine. Yeah, okay. You might almost have to snaps in his first game back since we, remember you got her what was the opening kickoff and we won, he played 47% of the snaps in his return. So just a young player named to watch again, some of these guys just worth a quick mention just so you know that. Okay. All right. Let's talk about Seth McGowan. And the real question here is, we got the trade deadline coming up pretty soon next week. So today. Yep. And there's been at least some conversation around some of these big names J T being one of them. It's wife making tiktoks about it. Is that a thing that, no, I'm serious, his wife literally made tiktok and addressed the speculation of a trade. Really? Yeah. Okay. All right. So let's just say if something happens, maybe we want to be thinking ahead in case a trade does take place. Obviously, if you have John in the tailor, you just got to wait and see what happens. What about this backfield behind him, is there anybody worth going out specifically and grabbing field gates if JT does get for you guys, because I already had McGowan and like all of our league. Thanks. Are you already did this already? Yes. Yeah. I've been, he's one of, there's always a guy every year that's like a guy that's on and off the end of my bench. Yeah. Throughout the whole season on every league. And that's who it's been. McGowan. If I, like if someone's hurt and I need to add like a receipt, you know, it's kind of like that guy. And he always ends up back on waivers. I could always scoop him up. So sorry to you guys, but for everyone else out there, yeah, he's one of the more appealing undervalued insurance running back. And by the way, so even if you, if you don't in two weeks from right now, if Jonathan Taylor remains a cult, then you could feel free to drop Seth McGowan, unless you have the, if you need to, because absent Jonathan Taylor getting hurt, he has no role. So the things he has going for him is that the Jonathan Taylor smoke seems to be real. Not guarantee he gets traded, but it's certainly within the realm of possibilities. McGowan has shown well when he has gotten opportunity to these so far this season. And the cult have a very, very thin backfield beyond Seth McGowan if he becomes the guy. The downside is that we don't know Jonathan Taylor is going to get traded on top of that. If he does get traded, the one good thing the cult have going for their offense would be going away. And this could be a bottom. I mean, it's already close to a bottom five offense. It could be legitimately one of the two or three worst offenses in the NFL. If JT is gone, it might be hard for Seth McGowan to chew up anything in the way of yards. On top of that, it could be that Jonathan Taylor is traded while Quentin Nelson. Their best offensive lineman DeForest Buckner, Keenan Allen, all their veterans are gone. This could just be a total tanktastic season by Indianapolis. So I think it's a worthwhile ad right now. But if Jonathan Taylor is traded, I'm not guaranteeing you that Seth McGowan is going to crack my top 20 of running backs in a given. Yeah. He to me as someone who has him on quite a few teams. He's slightly more appealing because JT could be traded. Well, the appeal was already like, he's an interest in running backs if something happens to him. So it's not really changing that much. I still think he's a borderline, rough, cerebral guy. I'm not going out and turn 10 bucks in my 10% of my fab on him. It's a guy that I would add this weekend when I put some on an IR, then I would add McGowan to the end of my bench, just like I would other insurance running backs. What if a contender decides to reach out and say, hey, we want to grab Tony Pollard because we could really utilize a little bit of help here? This one to me is a little less appealing because I think they'll use multiple backs. I actually experienced I think kind of as a limited ceiling. He's the next man up there, but he's a passing down specialist who's probably going to have a cap on how much rushing work he has. And they'll probably just, in that case, you're like, all right, we're just given up for this season. And again, Michael Carter will be busy or Nick Singleton. They'll take a look at, you know, they have other guys there as well that will play. So he has a higher floor than McGowan. Yeah. None of these guys are standalone options. Helen Black at all interest you guys after the little bit of injury scare from 100%. Because unlike the guys that we have been talking about, if something happens to CMC and injured his thigh last week, but it sounds like he'll be fine coming out of the buy. But if CMC is out for a game, Helen Black will be a top, I don't know, 12 running back for me. 15 running back at worst. It's offense. His skill set. Absolutely. He's really good for them. Yeah. If he goes on waivers, I add him everywhere. I mean, he might be the most appealing number two back that doesn't have standalone value right now. Like not a Blake core. Yeah. Exactly. I mean, not that I feel great about starting core, but you know, he's in a different category. Helen. Yes. Agreed. Agreed. Yes. Let's talk about a couple of wide receivers. We had two of them that didn't do too badly here this week. Guys Omar Cooper Jr. Yep. Who weeks in a row? Black's teammate. Yes. Absolutely. Two weeks in a row. Six for 103 in a touchdown. 22.3 fantasy points. Two weeks ago. This week. Five for 115 in a touchdown. 22 and a half fantasy points. Seven targets and five targets. So not getting a ton of volume. I'm sure that we would love to have a little bit more there. But at least worth this is one of the things that we always talk about. Young talent being able to get better in the rookie season second half of the year. This is what the end of your bench is for in case a guy continues to bloom and develop here. Love Omar Cooper as a guy that needs to be added. A little bit of a tricky one. He's manning the slot for them now with 80 Mitchell on the outside. Gare Wilson on the other side and I know that he's had two good games, but keep in mind his targets from game one with 80 Mitchell out to game two. Last week, he went from seven targets to five. He went from 82% of the snaps to 64% from 24% of the targets to 17%. What was the difference 80 Mitchell return to the lineup and was somewhat limited in that game. So I worry about consistency here because I don't know about you guys. I expect Gare Wilson to be heavily targeted and bounce back and that was not the case. He's had two straight duds, but not the kind of player that generally has two straight duds. So certainly three straight. This is a good match against the Raiders. So that's enough for me to keep Cooper on the wide receiver three flex radar. But just wouldn't surprise me if he fades off a little bit. That's fair. That's fair. We've been talking about him a little bit because he was a guy that was getting a lot of volume, but not turning that volume into production finally happened eight targets in three of his last five games. He also has nine carries so far this season. Just another one of those guys that needs to be on the end of the bench. I think so too. Yeah. I think that's the important part here. I'm not going crazy over the eight for one 29. I hope it's the start of something great for Casey Concepcion. But we were talking about how remarkably inefficient he was through the first six weeks of the season. He finally turns it on in the seventh week of the season. I don't think that means he's a guarantee to continue to do so. He intrigues me though. Intriguing. Yeah. A boost in Ariards last week. Yeah. There you go. See on it was a big drop in the short area. Yeah. Yeah. So that was his first good game. So I love the 25% target share and the nine carries in his full games this year. But yeah, we need to see him more consistently before he's a starter. What do you? Do you guys know what Brian Thomas Jr. is rostered in in our leagues? I got him. Probably way too high. 43% of leagues. Okay, so he's available in over a half a leagues is he and he's got to be another guy in this trade radar that we're talking about? Well, he's a pretty straight forward one because if he stays with the Jaguars beyond the trade, there's a lot of them. He's an auto. No, no value. But for two weeks, if you've got some roster flexibility, he has already circulated as a trade candidate. And I think it's almost illogical for the Jaguars to hold on to him at this point. They've made major investments in Jacobi Myers and Travis Hunter, Parker Washington will soon get a contract. Yeah. Like at some point, it's just a matter of how many roster spots do you have one position? It would be to me logical for the Jaguars to move off from him, even if it's kind of admitting defeat on a draft pick. And I don't know the Brian Thomas Jr. will ever get back or close to the form he showed as a rookie, but he's definitely talented enough that if you threw him and enter or input any of the roster, sorry, wide receiver, needy teams in the NFL right now. If you sent him to San Francisco, I'd be in. I'd love that. It would be a reunion with Mac Jones, but if you sent him to Kansas City, I'd be intrigued. That one's probably not likely because the Jaguars and the Chiefs competing in the AFC, but name a team right now that could use some wide receiver help throw Brian Thomas Jr. there and his stock goes up. It's a little bit of what we talked about with Marvin Harrison, Julian Houston, the theoretical value in Houston is better than the actual value in Arizona. Houston's still kind of a tough spot for Marvel because they have a lot of wide receivers right now in general. But BTJ, at least an interesting ad for the next two weeks, definitely an easy if all said it great. Easy if then if if he stays in Jacksonville and bye bye. Yeah. His last two games with the Jags, he has zero catches, which seems bad to me. By the way, you could. So the trade deadline is 4 p.m. Eastern time, two weeks from today. So for BTJ, two weeks from right now, if it four or one, he's still a Jaguar and you're like, you could just put him on waivers that night to try to claim somebody else. Fantasy trade deadline is still a little ways away for what it's worth. Yes. You don't have to worry about that. That's right. All right. Last one really quickly. Tide ends Hunter Henry. What kind of has me intrigued for straight with 11 plus fantasy points taken on Miami this week. He's the one guy that we would look at at the tight end spot. And we talked about the Patriots wide receivers last week, AJ Brown is back, but they're so thin there. And that's going to remain for at least one more week. They've played a lot of two tight ends. Yep. And they've got two very capable past catching tight ends in Hunter Henry and Eli Riordan. He's a touchdown maker. Yes. He has a touchdown maker. He's got a great report, Drake May. Yeah. And Hunter Henry, did we say this on this show? I can't remember if it was on this show or if it was in a conversation I had somewhere else offline last week where it's he's good enough to always be mentioned when you're talking about potential fantasy tight ends, but not good enough that we're telling you to add him. And he's an auto start for the rest of the season. That's a perfect.
perfect way to describe it. Yeah, I will say this. He had seven targets last week. He caught them all had a good day. That was his first game with more than five targets in a game this season. However, he's making all phones. Yeah, he is, he is recently, but he goes through these stretches, but he has a great matchup against Miami, who I was looking at this last night. They were the team that allowed the two touchdowns Mason Taylor last week. They've allowed at least one tight end touchdown and four there last five. The exception was the T. J. Hawkinson 13 target 13 catch game. Wow. A few weeks ago. So, uh, yikes. Uh, that's a, it's a good matchup. Third most fantasy point out to opposing tight end so far. This is a good, good streamer for this week. All right. Let's dive into the mailbag here a little bit before we go any further. Shout out to our buddy, Eric Moody. You can follow him on social media at Eric and Moody. Get your all your questions answered there. Michael Smith wants to know, would you bench Henry for Josh Jacobs? He has cost me two Ls in a row. What is happening with their Henry guys? No, I wouldn't mention for Josh for the first thing I want to say here is it's Eric Henry. You know, it's been a while since he's had a slump like this. But you look at the last, I looked at, um, I wrote about this for the playbook. Since the start of last year, he's the same number of games with 19 plus fantasy points as he does fewer than 12 fantasy points. So he tends to do this right because he's not involved in the passing games. So you don't get that floor from him. He's, he's going to do this. He's going to have some down games and he's going to have many huge games that are going to win you your week. So stay the course. We could have them are Jackson back this week and the big good matchup. Yes. They're playing the bills. I mean, this is an exceptional matchup. They should be running the offense through him field. They're playing the bills at one o'clock on Sunday. Wow. Why? Yeah. Why not? Why not have that be like a prime time game is what you're saying? Or at least the 425 national game of the week Sunday night footballs, the Eagles. I saw this one so watch Eagles. Here's what I was just locked in on me as you said that was so good. I totally feel you like I don't start laughing. I mean, I did. I totally feel you unlike the commanders and the Eagles. I just will say that it is harder to flex than it is to like the beginning of the season. The bills and if you knew the bills are playing the Ravens, like that should be an auto either prime time or 425 national game. It's surprising, especially in a week. And maybe the NFL just thought the LA game could be that big. But our three four o'clock games this weekend is only three in the four o'clock window. Chargers Rams. No chiefs Broncos. That's a good game. Yep. Patriots dolphins. No. I think what what what happens not to get why Patriots dolphins. Here's what I'm guessing is when the sausage is being made at the beginning of the season, you're saying two of those matchups, chargers and Rams and chiefs Broncos feel potentially very spicy. Even if the chiefs aren't a dominant team, Patrick Maholms, the biggest draw on the league, right? Like he generates eyeballs. The chiefs turns out are really good, right? The chiefs are now five and one. They weren't banking on the Chargers Rams being a total clunker of a game. So Patriots dolphins. I don't know why they put that there as opposed to, I guess you know what it is, Mike? Probably not a good West Coast matchup. There's really no West Coast games that you could like all the teams playing at home in the ones that packers maybe could have been. That's Thursday night. Yeah. Oh, that's Thursday, right? Yeah. The problem is the only teams that this is the last thing I'll say on this. The only teams that play on the West Coast that are hosting a game this week are, this is crazy. Actually, yeah, it's really long. What can I find them Broncos and the Seahawks? That's it. I explained it. Uber nerds and done, including me and chat. Just watch you to sit here, nerd out over the schedule of this week. Just talk more about it. So Michael, well, you know what? You know what? It has a fun fact. So in, at some point in the off season, when I get the first batch of projections, ready? Like I want to, I want to put them out there, right? But I can't do that like with the old schedule. That's kind of pointless, right? So I literally have to come up with my own schedule for the entire season. That takes a while. Wow. That's a half a day job or if that, or if not longer, where I have to match them up because that's hard to like, it's like a game to try and figure out. So there's no overlapping. So I literally create an entire schedule for the whole NFL season so that I have all the correct opponents in until the actual schedule comes out in May with all the projections aligned with the actual opponents. You really are. So yes, I am a skater. That is insane. Michael have to do it. It's very hard for the record. He's Lipscomb just texted the three of us and was like, thank you for that discussion, because when I saw the schedule yesterday, I had the same thoughts. I love that. So maybe you and the two cool for school chat are the ones that are in the wrong. Well, we only have two questions left because we use it so much time on the schedule. So here we go. Another question from Brady Warner. Omar Cooper looks legit despite the easier matchups, you think Garrett Wilson could be dealt at the deadline, guys. Well, let me start by saying I didn't think the jets would trade away Quinn Williams and Sauce Gardener last year. Fair point. So never say never. And I know that Aaron Glenn and Garrett Wilson are kind of spading right now. Yeah. I tend to lean towards Garrett Wilson staying with the jets beyond this. I would agree with that. I would be surprised. I would too. Yeah. Yeah. If I'm the, honestly, if I'm the jets, I want to keep Garrett Wilson in there. And then you have this unbelievable core of young offensive town of Omar and Kenyan Cedeek and Garrett Wilson and Breeze Hall. And now all you need is that quarterback to put in with their like you want to make sure that everyone's happy that I'd keep Garrett Wilson. I would not try and decent places along the offensive. One more question. Jordan Stuck wants to know I have Caleb as my quarterback. Should I stream a QB this week? I don't really love the Seattle matchup. Safe to say that we'll be discussed many times throughout the week here. Yes. But my initial thought is that if I have Caleb, I'm looking for other options. Agreed. Yep. One hundred percent. Agreed. That's the other matchup. Did you just see what they did now? Caleb is more at this point of their respective careers. More of a threat than Patrick Maholms to run the ball. But if we just saw when I get it, the chiefs have terrible weapons and the Seahawks have, sorry, the bears have very good weapons. But still that Seahawks defense, they feel like they got their mojo back on Sunday. Yeah. They shut down May too. They shut down Bonan. And May has been great since those first couple of games in the bad matchups. They shut down Bonix as well. And they're only kind of bad game. It's a 20 points in Marriota. And that was when in Washington, DC, that was on the other side of the we need to have home on these guys, West Coast teams going east to play in one o'clock games. These teams are asleep for the first half at minimum. I love that. See the Niners. If only we had someone that was super into the schedule to be able to look into that. One of the things we just don't have to offer up your service. Yeah. Somebody reach out. Please. All right, guys. Next segment. This one's going to be fun. Welcome to the house of fantasy horrors. We're going to go into four different rooms of the fantasy house of horrors and talk about some guys that we really regret. Or maybe don't believe they're coming back to life, whether or not they are a mere of lies with their production or a fourth one that's on a third sheet that I don't have the torture chamber. A fantasy player who's too talented yet too inconsistent to trust. Guys, let's start. I didn't know. But you have a great voice. Thanks guys for that specific shit. That wasn't the goal. Yeah. The ghouly kind of thing. I think so. Very ghouly of you nailed it. Why don't we start with the room of regret? We all regret many things in fantasy football. But none more than our friend feel Jates. That was scary. Feel what's the first one you want to start with. After I mentioned this name, we'll never talk about it. I'll be retiring from talking about this name for the rest of this season. Amen. Why do you look at me when you said that? A fantasy trash pick that you would absolutely undo, guys. I talked about them last week. This is my last time. I'm saying my piece here on Justin Herbert. Okay. We're done. His best finish is quarterback 22. He does not have a game with multiple touchdowns so far this season. Nope. The offense is God awful. He is largely to blame for that terrible woeful pathetic offense of the Los Angeles chargers. And the other part about it is that he plays a position where there are so many other quality options right now. Tell me about it. You could have thrown that energy behind Trevor Lawrence rock party. I didn't. I threw behind Justin Herbert. And for that, I regret. Well said Mike, what about you? What do you regret in vanity? Nice job, Mike. Yeah, I don't know if I blamed you or my love for this one. And I still I'm hopeful that he'll be better going forward. But what are we? What are we? But I regret being so aggressive in drafting because that's all not sure he's been fully healthy. And he certainly hasn't been utilized the right way. Does have 70 touches in five games, it's about 15 and a half a game. But he's played under half to snaps and four of five games. The efficiency hasn't been there. 3.7 yards per carry. And guys, he hasn't cleared 19 receiving yards in a game this season. He actually is total targets in his last two games. So yeah, I mean, I was taking him. He was going into the third round. I was pushing late second round and so far, so horrible. I'm really hoping for a better second half with a good schedule. But definitely having some work right there because you know when a few spots after him often, who can walk her the third pain. Did you feel like when Mike mentioned something about like it's not his fault? It was an excuse. He was made a little bit a little bit. Yeah, I was. Do you guys remember what Mike Tom when you say about excuses? Um, excuses are like elbows and noses. Everyone has one. Oh, I never heard that expression before. It's just made it up. Okay. He said, or he used to say he probably still says it. He's a very good man with words. He said excuses are tools for the incompetent. Wow. Well, that's just one man's opinion. I think some excuses are viable and some aren't. You know what doesn't have an excuse. Feel already touched on it. I'm going to do it one more time. The entire
higher Chargers offense. Oh, Marry and Hampton for me guys. I was so in. I made a board bet with these two Yahu's that Oh, Marry and Hampton was going to score more fantasy points than Christian McCaffrey this year. Whoops. That one's over already. That you want to talk about regret. I feel it heavy there, didn't need that sound effect. He's running back 29 this year. He has nine catches this entire season. He's a way better past catcher than nine catches, 9.6 fantasy points per game. He's 24th in rush attempts. He's not touching the ball in favor of Keaton Mitchell and Kamani Vidal at this point. He's also in a three headed committee, unbelievable waste of a pick at the running back spot. At least a quarterback. I could find another quarterback off a waiver is that I could just throw in there and still have a starter, but a Marry and Hampton, no, it's just disappointment and regret weekend and week out every time you see him on your roster and you can't drop him because he's still a Marry and freaking Hampton. Yeah. I have an idea. Sorry. That felt more like a rant. That was good. I'm sorry. Glad you got that. That's important. Christian McCaffrey scored 144 fantasy points so far this season. I won't do this. Well, a Marry and Hampton outscore Christian McCaffrey through just seven weeks of McCaffrey for the full season. Honestly. I would say no. Yeah. At this point. Seven point five points for a Marry and Hampton. So he would need. He's at 144, he needed 86.5 over his final 11 games at seven point six. I like to think they'll come out of the buy and get him the ball more often, but I'm not confident in that. But by the way, kind of like you remember how much it was talked about that Mike McDaniel went out and he was like, I want Keen Mitchell, I know an alking old and we thought that was like all cute and stuff. And then that's not as funny now because you're like, yeah, that's not funny. Wait, why did he want a fullback in a situation? Maybe we should have thought about why he didn't want to go get superstar players because they could use them. Sure. Good. Sure could. All right. Next one up, guys. The fantasy graveyard. Yeah. A fantasy player that you are officially declaring dead. Mike, why don't you start first? Yeah. This one's maybe a hairball, but I tried to look at ADP. So it wasn't like. Oh, he was at 12th round picking. He's dead. Obviously. So I went with the guy that went in the at the round four to five turn in Trevian Henderson. There are five fantasy points now in five straight games and 11 of his last 13 going back to the last season. So it's been a while since he's been consistently productive in fantasy. Actually, never really. He's been consistently productive when Ramon tree's been on the field. He's handling. He's played 33% of the snaps when he's been on the field this year. 35% of the carries 4% of the targets this year. And over the last three games, he trails Corey Kiner in carries 21 to 14. It's only eight ahead of him in snaps. He's basically, he's not even one B anymore. It's Ramon trees the lead back. He's now two B or two B sharing that role with Corey Kiner does have a good match against Miami this week. But I'm not. I just don't think there's enough playing time or confidence from the coaching staff that this guy is going anywhere in fantasy. Last week when we talked about Corey Kiner, it was, we talked about how he's getting his hands on more opportunities in this. That's what we said. I think so. I think that's what we said. A few weeks ago, you had said that I think this was the end of the game. We're just kind of like saltin it out. Did you see something different that like it does kind of feel like Corey Kiner is now going to be a part of this offense this week or is this a little bit more of that? So what's interesting is we saw a slightly different variation of Corey Kiner's role. He still was in there to run the football. But I think we all kind of wondered if he's going to run the football on occasion. Could that be at the cost of Ramon trees instead of at the cost of as Mike has described traviant Henderson just feels like right now as Michael alluded to the things the Patriots trust traviant Henderson to do or so limited and they're predictable, right? Like he's really going to struggle in past protection right now. He's not a between the tackle as runner and in the passing game for whatever reason. They just don't feel like he has much more than just a screen guy. So from Andre will stay on occasion, efficiently busy on other occasions, not so efficiently busy. He'll be busy though. Yeah. Feels like you're playing Wacomull with him, try to figure out which weeks are going to be the ones. Field, what about you? I didn't dive into it. Yeah. I mentioned earlier, Kather Murray. He's not going to tickle my fancy this week, even in the matchup of all matchups. He has played four games this season, four games in which he has played and finished. He has zero top 10 finishes so far, just Kather Murray. In those four games, he has a total of three passing and rushing touchdowns combined. Zero games with multiple passing, multiple touchdowns. He has an Eclipse, even 250 passing yards in a game. And while the rushing is useful for Kather, if he's not going to score touchdowns, averaging 31 rushing yards per those four starts is not good enough. Even in the matchup of all matchups, I'm out on Kather Murray. I'm with you on that. Just doesn't look good. Connection with Justin Jefferson's not there the way that we had hoped it would be. I think you only hope is now the games are more competitive against better teams. That's a whole. They need him. He's been getting into the 200s and yarded. So if they have to score in the second half, maybe we get there enough, but I'm not willing to say he's in the graveyard yet. I'm leaving. I'm leaving a little of the soil off one foot out, coffin, just yet. Okay. We'll see. This is a big test this week though. I'm going to Mark Andrews, guys. Did you know that as they are likely left, he did, so that should have pretty up a lot for him. He's not saying about Mark Andrews. He got a big contract too. Like a little bit ago. Like he is clearly their number one tight end. Let's see. What has he done so far this year? Tied in 26. Got it. Okay. Seven point two points per game. Guys, how many games over 50 receiving yards does he have at zero, zero games over 50 receiving yards. In fact, five of his seven games, he has less than 30 receiving yards. Guys, he has one touchdown this year. If you're not getting in the end zone, he's not getting a lot of targets. No more than seven targets in a game. That only happened one time, by the way. There's just no point at a position, an island position in which we are looking for guys weekend and week out. It feels like with all of these targets that were vacated and it's now just him, he should have been a dude. And if he can't make it happen now, this season, I, he feels like he is in the fantasy graveyard. Yeah. All time. Baltimore Raven. Absolutely. One of the great tight ends of the last 15 years. Yep. We are toast. You're only hoping here as Lamar comes back after missing three games and get some going. And he gets on that touchdown run like he did a couple years ago to kind of save his season. Yeah. I mean, if Lamar is back, maybe you're scoring three, three and a half touchdowns per game. That's what, that's what peak Lamar offense is due. Yeah. It's possible. Yeah. That he scores a bunch of touchdowns, but I'm very nervous. All right. Next room in the fantasy house of orders, the mirror of life. You really have a future in this, a fantasy player whose numbers are deceiving managers about their true values. You want to go first? I'm a conkey, guys. Just mad. Matt. Okay. No, this is the opposite. He's deceiving you because of the fact where you're looking down at my long johns. You were in long johns. I am wearing long johns. Did that hold? It was chilly. These are really thin pants. That's why they're there. Okay. I just noticed those. Yeah. Yeah. This time of year, it's like 28 degrees in the morning and then 70. Yes. Afternoon. Yeah. But walking to my car, like, if I just have these pants on, anyways, you guys don't care about my pants. You care about my mirror of lives. Bad Maconkey though. I do believe it's a mirror of lies because I do believe he's better than this, even though the offense is terrible, even though everything else about the chargers that we have said is absolutely correct. I think there is one part that can still be usable for us in fantasy football. He has been hurt consistently over and over. He has not been 100% healthy this year. When he was healthy to start the season, he smashed the first half of that first game and then he's just been dealing with stuff, including the offense. I do not believe though, rest of season that, that Lad Maconkey is going to be as bad as he has been to start the season. I'm still believing in the talent. I can only believe in one talent right now in the Los Angeles Chargers team, but the one I'm believing in is Lad Maconkey still. Okay. I wrote about that same thing for the playbook. Really? So I'm with you. We're on the same page. Love it. I'm less optimistic, but agree to disagree. All right. That's a good summer. Yeah. Into the ground. Yeah. Into the ram's hands this weekend. Yeah. Oh, my guy is Quinchon Judkins. Oh. Okay. Okay. That's a tough name. More or less bullish on him. Okay. So it's just a mere of lies, right? Yes. So perhaps you're a little bit deceived. And this goes kind of hand in hand with talking about Dylan Samson earlier. So here's why it's deceptive. He's red hot right now. 21 plus fantasy points in two of his last three games. But guys, under 10 points and his other four games this season, it's one of your guys coming into the year. Hold on. I'm getting there. 17 plus. Plus touches in, uh, in five straight games, a lot of, there are a lot of some positives in there. But we swung through five with no Dylan Samson. The average four targets per game last week, he had one Dylan Samson back on the field. Oh, no. And if you look at the usage, Judkins 34 snaps, Samson's 31, a Judkins saw at a very clear edge and, uh, carry 17 to six, but pass routes, only nine for Judkins 15 for Samson. One target I mentioned for Judkins three for Dylan Samson. Also last year, the rushing efficiency wasn't very good for Judkins, 3.6 yards per carry, 3.5 so far this season. So I think this could be a little bit of a problem. He's going to be the lead ball carrier. He's going to be the lead goal line guy. But if you're split in snaps with Dylan Samson who's handling a lot of the passing down work, I think that you're not going to be getting consistent numbers near 20 fantasy points. I think that he's going to come back to earth and maybe it's a cell week for when Sean Judkins, I'm definitely a little bit nervous about the role, Samson news, uh, another young running back just 22 years old now, uh, is going to play in this offense. And if he steals passing down work and carries and is running the ball, well, it could be a problem.
with all of this is Judkins could be startable. Offences better than we thought it would be. Sure. But I think he's kind of at his peak right now. And that if he comes back to Earth next week and score six points, you're going to be in trouble. So now might be the time to consider your window will have closed. All right. All right. Why it's the mirror of lies. There is a player who is now nearly three and a half seasons into his career in those three and a half seasons. He has more than five catches three times. Marvin Harrison Jr. That might be accurate as well. Okay. I think he's actually only two and a half seasons into it. Oh, yeah. That's fair. That's fair. But he has been red hot over the past two weeks. Yes. As Trey Tucker, who has been dominant, he actually has three great games so far this season. I fear that we are falling into the Trey Tucker trap that happens usually two or three times a year, right? And it's possible that we kind of got those out of our way. Now the positives is that Kirk Cousins throw in the football a lot throwing the football effectively. He has four games, though, with 44 or fewer fans, fewer yards of this season does Trey Tucker. So he's actually not a bad play. If you're a prohibitive underdog and you're facing off against a strong team and you want the upside of Trey Tucker, just be careful here chasing those because a couple of weeks ago, it was a 44 yard touchdown catch against the bills and basically garbage time. Yep. He's kind of big play dependent, maybe too much so for my liking. Yeah. Schedule gets much tougher for the Raiders offense, especially for receivers. I have them a third hardest going forward to what it's worth. All right, guys. Last room of the haunted house. The torture chamber. I'm a bag of candy at the end. I want to suck your blood and fantasy points. Oh, man. A fantasy player who was too talented to bench, but too inconsistent to trust guys. I like the thought of someone just putting the show on rate issue. Yeah, like what is this? Did you guys really pick the same player? We did. Oh, did we really want me to go first and you guys can tag team yours. Sure. Okay. Sure. All right, mine's pretty quick. We actually have a theme amongst our picks. You'll notice that theme in just a moment. My pick is AJ Brown though. AJ Brown who has exactly three catches in his three games played the season two and a half games. He obviously left after two plus quarters in week one. Yeah. The matchup looks once again really good for the Patriots on paper this week. Dolphins lack secondary talent. They get gashed on the ground more specifically, but I like the Patriots upcoming schedule in general for AJ Brown. You got the Lions. You got the Packers, which is, we'll see, but the Lions, the Dolphins. There's some real matchups for AJ Brown to get going. Mike Dravel has downplayed the impact of the ankle for AJ Brown struggles. The Patriots are saying some, you know, he's drawing a lot of attention is what AJ Brown is saying about himself. That being said, at some point, AJ Brown's got to break out of this, right? At some point, right? Yeah. I would like to believe it. Uh oh. I can be just going crazy. Uh oh. I'm just going to do my taxes. Apparently, it's just open quick and personal. Oh, wow. Yeah. Okay. AJ Brown. Yeah. You pay to hefty tax on him this preseason. Yes, you did. Oh, yeah. Oh, well done. Well, that's why you're professional. All right. So you guys, you take the lead. Yeah. You guys obviously agree in the AJ Brown. You take the lead. Cuz I, uh, there's a big question because the, you're, you're saying what can Brown do for you? I think Mike and I are also kind of doing the same thing. We're going with Chase Brown. How the brown? It's so frustrating, guys. Chase Brown started slow last year. You heard me talk about him coming into this game. Actually, I talked about, uh, talked about him a lot last week, coming into this Baltimore game. Still wasn't great. 11 carries 39 yards, four catches for 19 yards. Guess who had to touch down again this week? Some Ajay P. Ryan, not Chase Brown. Guess who has under 10 fantasy points in three of his last four games? Chase freaking brown, but he's Chase Brown. He's a pass catching running back on a Bengals team that I still expect to score a ton of points. How do you bench that guy? Do I just sit here and just take it? Do I just take seven fantasy points when I get it in my starting lineup, Mike? Yeah. I kind of want to go back to a week eight shows at this time last year and see what we were talking about with Chase Brown because I thought this is kind of fascinating. He's averaged in about 12 fantasy points for game this year. I has one touchdown. It was in week one. Yep. Through seven games last season, through week seven. So this exact time of the year, 365 days ago through seven games, 10.1 fantasy points for game, his only touchdown was in week one. No way. Literally the exact same thing. His final 10 games, 21.2 fantasy points for game in 10 touchdowns. And if you look for even further back in his career, kind of similar where his peak games were down the stretch. So maybe this is just the time on me. There's a sort of layer in Cincinnati. That's kind of fascinating how he was actually worse at this point last year. That's right. And Joe Burrell missed some time, but very interesting. Okay. Wow. Chase Brown has a chance to get back on track. Yes. Both Chase Brown and AJ Brown. Hey guys, thanks for going through that fantasy house of horrors with me. Well done. Yeah. That was fun. You guys did a great job. What are you talking about that? All right. We're doing an elimination game to end things. Oh, first off, a couple of mailbags here. RGG. Dopp is better than the goal. Oh, thanks guys. I appreciate that. Thank you for that. Jose. Dopp is killing out of the show. Great effort on the voice. Guys, I'm just trying to have some fun here. Thank you. I appreciate all that. Justin Jefferson should be in one of these rooms. Oh, interesting. Which one? I thought about it. Yeah. Cause he's a little disloyal. September. We are Randy with an AY meeting. Good game two weeks ago. Scott White, some of these sound effects giving me chills as they showed some of the fantasy matchups are giving me chills. Last one here, Jess says, this segment has been great guys. Oh, thank you. Love it. Crushed a segment. I'd add to our producer Dave. Yeah. Go all of them. Great idea. All right. Let's dive into the elimination game we got here, guys. Last thing before we close the shot on Tuesday. This is evil. This is absolutely evil. You'll be presented with four things. On the screen, you must decide which one you're willing to have disappear from the world for ever. Yeah, I'm looking at this. Uh, first one's impossible. Yeah, I agree. Every day conveniences so easy, so simple. What are you talking about? All right. First four, every day conveniences. We've got GPS, online banking, streaming apps, and online shopping. Nice sub out one of them for Justin Herbert. And then I'll just pick that. I did what? Are you that mad at me? I didn't even look at you. I didn't even look at you when I said look. You know, there's a little side eye, a little side, but not really. I think the answer is pretty obvious here. I agree. This is the easiest. All of it. I'm curious what you think. I think the answer has to be online bank. Yeah, I agree. Oh my gosh. No, it's online shopping. Guys. No way. Why? What? What? I buy everything online. I know. I'm going to make you guys feel bad when I say this. I think so GPS. We drive everywhere. You can't not have GPS. I can't have a people. Right? Exactly. Online banking. If I go somewhere as a part of that, I have to be able to bank online because my bank is maybe four states away. Like online banking has to happen. Streaming apps. I can't not have streaming apps in some way. Shape performance. The only way to watch sports. I'm going back to getting rid of online shopping. I can go to a mall. Remember when malls were cool, you walk through malls and they were people in the mall now. Brutal. But that's because you've gotten used to it. I don't have time. I don't want to be in a mall for more than five minutes. So you're saying online banking? The only time I go to the mall is if somebody from my family orders something from a store that has a shop in the mall and to execute a return, we go to the mall, especially if it's a size exchange, got a medium needed large or vice versa. Wow. I'll go in a few times a year, but it's a thing. Yes. There's like not a. You don't want to go back to that where it's like, I don't matter. No. No. No. Imagine doing your holiday shopping at the mall. Okay. It's brutal. It's probably it's horror film. What if you just wanted to support small and local businesses? Have I made you guys feel better? Those aren't a malls. Okay. Generally not a malls. Yeah. Next one up. He tried to get us. I did. I did. Let's do it. You just do your online banking like once a month. My family lives in Texas. I don't have a bank that's all that you get to get a local bank. Fantasy focus elimination game guys. Another two here. We got the sporting events. Which one of these four sporting events needs to go? I've only heard of one of the Super Bowl March Madness, the World Cup or the Olympics. Man, I'm going to get myself in trouble here, but I'll say World Cup, not big soccer. I'm going to get myself in trouble as well and say this Super Bowl because we have it this year. Wow. Yeah. You want to get rid of the Super Bowl. I think so March Madness is like a month. March Madness is a month of awesome sports. Yeah. All right. Daniel. The World Cup is like three weeks of Super Cool. Also soccer is the most popular sport on the planet. Daniel. This is an American football. I know. That's the problem and the Olympics are like all of the countries coming together to celebrate like the country and like the Super Bowl is a one day thing. All of the rest of these are like multi weeks and months long in which people come together forever. Yeah. The Super Bowl is the easy one. I'm told you're supposed to leave the show. Now you're out. Thank you. I'm actually going to Olympics. Really? Yeah, because here's the reason why I'd I'd next the Olympics is there are certain events within the Olympics that I really, really, truly enjoy watching, right? The the one where they shoot the gun and they have to do the skis at the same time. Yeah, that's fun. Oh, like football. I'm not familiar with that one. But look on the summer front, I love some of the tracking field stuff. Obviously the basketball stuff is great, but there's a decent number of events that take place within the Olympics that I'm like, I don't even know what that is. I'm not that intrigued by it. I kind of caught the fever this summer with the World Cup. That was really fun to watch. And obviously USA is run to the quarter final helped that that be that much more enjoyable. So World Cup stays March madness and Super Bowl kind of speak for themselves. We all had different answers. Yeah, we did. That what I'm surprised by. I'm interested to see what chat thinks about that one. All right. Last one. This one's so easy. Condiments. Oh, yes. It's easy for which one goes here for we have four condiments left. It's ketchup. Mayo, barbecue sauce and hot soup. We all get it on three. Ready? One on three. One, two three man up. What?
Okay. Now hold on. I agree with you guys if it's American male, but if you have not had QP male from Japan, that's not what this is. What is QP male? It's just like Japanese male. It's just like made slightly differently than American male. Can we talk about it? Well, if you like American male, like if one of them said poop, I'd pick that one, but that's not there. You got to pick what's. Okay. If you like male, we're called American male. It's a personality flaw. I don't know. No, no, no. It's disgusting. Okay. But male is an unbelievable base in making other condiments. That's fair. That is fair. No, no, no, no. You use male in many different things that you don't realize. I understand I wouldn't just put like male straight on a sandwich, but I think that if I needed to, I could substitute barbecue sauce for all of the ketchup in my life and eventually get used to it. Here's the thing. So I think male was important. Did you guys ever, it was one of Malcolm Gladwell's books that had a whole chapter on now, ketchup was derived. It was like the perfect condiment because it's got one of the five taste buds or each of the five taste buds things like it's got sweet, savory, something like. What's the other one? Like umdami? Oh, oh, umami. Umami, right? Yeah. Sweet, savory, umami, two other things. Yeah. It's got all five of those sensations. That's why it's perfect. Yes. Do I learn recently? What? Like a ramekin, put one egg in there and then put a spoon of male and then a little bit of oil and put in the microwave for 30, 40 seconds. Delicious. So good. Jose and Dre is thing. Little trick. Oh, it works. It works. All right. Did you say it put an egg in the microwave for 30 seconds? Yeah. 30, 40 seconds. It's a little ramekin. It'll be up at like 180 degrees. Like it cooks it. Yeah. Really? Yes. It's wild. I was like egg in the microwave. Is it like a souffle? You don't taste any male. I throw a little salt and pepper on. I don't like that. A little quick hack of eating a little boost. You kind of just made the case for male. Yeah. You kind of did there. And you don't taste it. Imagine there's a time and a place for it, but if I had to eliminate one from that list, it's male. All right. Thanks for hanging out with us today. Guys, this is a fun show. We're going to be back tomorrow, diving into all the rankings that are week eight. Make sure you come and hang out with us and make sure you also get in your waiver claims as well with it being toothed. And I don't forget to love each other and be kind to yourself, you guys.
