Week 8 Start Sit Advice (Part 1) | MUST-Start Players & Big Names to AVOID (10/29 Fantasy Football Podcast)
1h 26m 27s
The fantasy football show features a heartfelt tribute to departing producer Thomas Schaefer, celebrating his impact and steady presence over 2,276 episodes. Analysts provide detailed player rankings and matchups, focusing on standout performances from Trevor Lawrence against the Colts, Rashad White in a breakout role, and Josh Jacobs in a run-heavy game against the Panthers. Geno Smith is recommended as a strong start against the Raiders, while other players like Brenton Strange and Omar Cooper are highlighted as promising fantasy options due to favorable matchups. Several players are advised against due to poor defensive matchups or injury concerns, including Patrick Mahomes, Harold Fanon, and Caleb Williams. Injury updates show key absences, such as Taylor Moten and Jalen Phillips with the Panthers, and limited availability for others like Rishi Rice and Jalen Waddle. The discussion emphasizes flexibility and situational analysis, with rankings adjusted based on team dynamics, game scripts, and player health. The show wraps with a promotional message from Hymns, promoting health and confidence as key to personal success, reinforcing the theme of taking control. Overall, the segment blends deep fantasy analysis with emotional respect for team contributions and a clear focus on data-driven, player-specific strategies.
Whatever's holding you back, hymns has a real plan for it. Be confident, be hymns. See home games on today's show. We're talking Cleveland in Pittsburgh. We're talking to Indianapolis at Jacksonville. The Raiders are at the Jets. Do we have two quarterbacks worth starting in that game? The Patriots are at Miami. Do we have one quarterback worth starting in that game? Kansas City's at Denver. Do we have zero quarterbacks worth starting in that game? Tennessee at Cincinnati. Baltimore at Buffalo. Welcome to fantasy football today, presented by hymns. Whatever's holding you back hymns has a real plan for it. Okay, it's Thursday, October 29th, and this is the worst show that we're ever going to do. It finally dawned on me. Why? Oh, you didn't get it all day yesterday? No, I didn't. Yeah, today sucked. I just hated Heath as usual. Yeah, it's nothing to do with he. Yesterday was a great show. I'm sure. Yes, it was great. Today's, you know, Heath, do you know why today is terrible? It's yes. I know. Actually, I don't agree with you. I understand why you're saying it's terrible. But if you if you love something, you have to set it free. And we're going to throughout the show, we're going to set it free. We'll get to that in a minute. Thursday night, injury updates. We'll get to that in like 10 minutes. Matthew Golden is questionable for tonight. So we're just going to have to keep an eye on it. If he's good to go, I'm sure we're going to play him. If we get a snap count thing, then you know, check Twitter or something. We'll try to update you, but we just don't know right now. We're hopeful that he's going to play. But the Panthers will be without two starting offensive lineman, you know about their right tackle Taylor Moten. They played most of the year without him, but he's out for the year, but also Damien Lewis, their starting left guard is going to be out today. And Dave pointed out that the Panthers allowed a 42% pass rush pressure pressure rate when the bucks did not blitz on Sunday. So that's pretty bad. And edge rusher for the Panthers. Jalen Phillips is out today. All right, enough of the bad stuff. Let's get into the players. We love for fantasy week eight brought to you by stitch fix. Well, if you're like me and clothes shopping isn't your thing. Stitch fix has you covered get style today at stitch fix dot com slash football. Jamie, we got Trevor Lawrence against the Colts Rashad white. That's a bold one against the Eagles Sunday night and Hunter Henry who's going to try to make personal Hunter Henry history. Like that alliteration. As your players, you love Trevor Lawrence Rashad white Hunter Henry history. Oh, are you doing the trade Tucker thing with Hunter Henry? A little bit. Yeah. Good. Good. Good. Go ahead, Jimmy. Yeah, Lawrence has started the week coming off his by week last time. We saw him 35.3 fantasy points against Houston 25.7 points in three of his last four games. And he has a great history against the Colts 23.1 points in each of his last three meetings 23.1 or more in each of his last three meetings. Colts have allowed three quarterbacks to season to go over 26 fantasy points. I think Lawrence is going to have an opportunity here to have another big outing. The only concern and we've seen this a couple times whichever Lawrence is that they don't have to push the the pedal a little bit because of the inept Colts offense that we're probably going to see. But I think Trevor Lawrence has still a big game in front of him. And I do think I don't think you could start him based on this, but I do think you're going to get a Brian Thomas showcase game. And that should help Trevor Lawrence stats as well because obviously that's how Tom is going to get the ball for Rashad White. Look, 11.1 PPR points or more in three of his last four games. He's going to be the lead running back as we know coming off the by week still for at least three more games. I hope he performs well enough that he keeps the job and doesn't lose it. But you're still talking about Austin Eckler and Jeremy McNichols as the competition. And I think that you know should allow Rashad White to have a good game. And the defense is obviously falling apart. They have a lot of running back to score at least 10.8 PPR points and five games in a row. So I think that's kind of the floor that 11 point range for him. Three guys though. Cardin Williams, Shuba Hover, Javante Williams, clearly Rashad White's not in their range of talent, but scored at least 19.1 PPR points. So I think that's an opportunity for him to hopefully stay hot. And then for Hunter Henry, as you referenced, I'm assuming you're saying he's not going to have a good game for five, five games in a row. He has never caught a touchdown in five straight game. Oh, no wait. Hold on. I'll tell you. Well, he didn't catch touchdown last week. So no, that's not that. Hunter Henry has scored double digit PPR fantasy points in four straight games. He has never done that in five straight games. And I think he's got a Jamie. I think he's going to make Hunter Henry history. I think he's going to also, you know, here come the Miami Dolphins number three. And most fantasy points allowed to the position. He's, as you said, playing well, 11 PPR points or more in four straight games coming off a seven for 70 game last week, two touchdowns in his last three outing. So I think it's a chance for him to be really productive once again. Top five titan for me. Top five. Wow. So is that ahead of time over leveling, for example. Oh my. I would do against Seattle. That makes sense. He said you with two. He's. Yeah. Okay. Would you start him over Tucker craft? Yeah. I have crap or so. No. By the way, especially Bolden's out or limited a tweet here from James Palmer. And James is a NFL on prime insider. So he says Matthew golden listed as questionable. There's a lot of optimism. He's good to go green Bay is expecting him to play. I'm told. And Carolina has been preparing for Matthew Golden on this short week. Is a sigh of relief. Good news to start week eight. And listen, there's some bad news in week eight as well. Because this is the worst show that we're ever doing. But he who are the three players. That you love just to recap Jamie had Trevor Lawrence who he has ranked fifth and he has ranked third. Jamie has Rashad white who he has ranked 23rd. And he also has 23rd and Dave has him 24th. So it's a good start for a shot white. It is not like he is an absolute must start slam dunk. But he's top 24 guy. And then they both like Hunter Henry. All right. He's how about you? You know, the Panther should be preparing for Josh Jacobs. We are going to see a lot of Josh Jacobs tonight and the good, you know, dipping his toe in the water game last week. Love the past game involvement. But this is going to be like the forest gump leg braces game leg braces falling off game for the Packers run offense. They have not been able to run the ball at all all season along the Panthers are the perfect cure for that. Giving up over five yards per carry this season. They're awful against the run. Bucky Irving just ran wild on them. Kenneth Gainwell just ran wild on them. Sean Tucker had a 50 yard run or maybe 45 against them last week. Coming out party for Josh Jacobs. I don't even love him as much as everybody else. I'm going to move them up. Start Josh Jacobs with reckless abandoned start. Geno Smith. It's a revenge game. We haven't talked enough about revenge games this season. But it's revenge game for Geno Smith. That's not why I'm starting him. I'm starting him because the Raiders are terrible against quarterbacks that go up the six most points to opposing quarterbacks. And Geno has suddenly a fantastic cast of past catchers, Jared Wilson's obviously awesome. I think it's a get right week for him. Omar Cooper is emerging in the battle for who can be the second best rookie wide receiver this season. He's definitely in contention has been awesome the last two weeks. He has two tight ends. He's still got an I Mitchell who gets open. But didn't matter last week and then start Brinton Strange. The three games before Jacksonville went on by I think I'm alone on this one. Probably because Jacksonville is going to beat Indianapolis so easily they won't throw enough passes. But the three games before they went on by this pass offense got a little bit more concentrated and it was two guys. It was Parker Washington. It was Brinton Strange. They were actually had the same number of targets in the last three Jacksonville games. So I think you can start both of those guys in the pass offense. Yeah, Brinton Strange has been good three. I don't know if you said this with three straight games with seven to eight targets. Did you say that I said that he had the same number of targets as Parker Washington the last three games. Yeah, that's pretty good. And you know, I don't know. This is good. And Colts are 19th against tight ends. Colts like they're not statistically as bad against positions as I kind of in my mind feel like they are. But I do think the Jaguar should have a pretty good game against them. All right. So for Heath, it's Geno Smith against the Raiders. He is top 14 for everyone and 14th for Jamie 11th for Dave 11th for Heath. The question with every, you know, question will quarterback this week is golf Caleb Williams or that guy. How would you rank those three? I have Smith over Williams. I currently have golf over Smith, but I may change it. I have it got Smith Williams. Okay. That's what Jamie has right now as well, but we might change that Josh Jacobs against the Panthers tonight and Brinton Strange against the Colts. And thank you to Stitchfix. truly, it is a really good, convenient way to shop. And it's, I don't know, I just, I love it. I really encourage you to use it. All right. Heath, who are you avoiding this week? I'd like to stay away from most of the chiefs and Broncos game. But in particular, I've got stay away from Patrick Mom's bad last week against Seattle hasn't been throwing the ball. Kenneth Walker's already won run wild on this defense once much better past defense than it is a run defense. This is nothing. I guess that outlandish because we all got him ranked 20th or worse sports line a little bit higher at 16th. I do not, I would definitely start June of Smith way, way, way over Patrick Mom's and a couple other streamers as well. On the other side of that game, I would stay away from the Broncos offense. This or Broncos running backs, I could say Broncos offense. Broncos running backs. This is turned into one of those back fields where I think maybe somebody else has more certainty, but it's just like the grossest three-man split you could think of. I wouldn't, you could tell me that Jonah Coleman's going to be the lead back this week. I would believe you. You could tell me that JK Dobbins is going to be the lead back. I would believe you. You could tell me the Broncos can't run the football against the chiefs. And so that RJ Harvey's going to be the best back. I would believe you. They're all flexes at best. I don't want to start any of them. And then as good as he was last week, I would stay away from Harold Fanon. I know he scored 11 points against the Steelers. The last time they faced, he had three catches for 27 yards. I am not optimistic about the Browns offense in this game. In case you can step she own is really emerging. And I don't want to start Denzel Boston either, but he's going to be a factor. I actually think that Browns Steelers game is one of the toughest ones to preview. It's got the most questionable, not the most. Yes. A lot of questionable players like do we start them on the right right on the border. That's why it's going to be the first game we break down. Jamie three players to avoid for you. He's had my homes, the Denver running backs and Harold fan in junior. You have Caleb Williams at Seattle on Monday night, just giving me fits. And Tony Pollard at Cincinnati and James and Williams against Minnesota, which is giving me even more fits. I appreciate you taking those tough ones here in that bearers game and that Lions game, but Caleb Pollard and James and Williams. The latter two are not necessarily avoids. Just don't love. So it's hard to bench two players like that. Caleb Williams though, because of his position, I think you can get away from him. And I know, I think the perception of Caleb is, wow, he's been awesome. And he has at times, but he's played four games in two of them. He's been under 20 fantasy points. So while he's played well, sometimes the fantasy production just hasn't been there. And now you're taking on Seattle. They've allowed only two quarterbacks to go over 20 fantasy points. It was my opinion of looking Marcus Mario to game. And Brock Purdy barely got over 20 fantasy points. And that's Brock Purdy. So I think Caleb is going to kind of hover in that range. I just don't think he's going to have a great performance because of Seattle's defense. So if you can avoid starting Caleb, I would do so. Pollard is a little bit tricky because he's coming off this monster game. And when he's been involved in a passing game, he's been great. And this is a defense that's sort of been a little up and down against running backs. But I think we saw last week when you're facing a suspect passing attack. And you know what this team is going to try and doing the times we're going to try and run the ball. They just dominated Derek Henry. So I think it's going to be a little bit tougher for Pollard. If he doesn't score and doesn't get the catches, then I think it's going to be a rough game for him, which we've seen a few times where he's actually run well, but just hasn't given you the fantasy production. So more of a low end number two running back for me. And kind of the same thing with James and Williams. Not the best history against Minnesota and Brian Flores as you would expect. Only one touch. And actually only one game with double digits and PPR in the five meetings that he's faced. Flores and you actually missed one of the games of the six meetings that these two teams have had. And so James has been awesome. The last three games four touchdowns in his last two outings. But as we know, this is a Minnesota defense. That's been great. You know, you you touched on this four passing touchdowns in their last 15 games going back to last season. Only two wide receivers have scored touchdowns against them this year. So it's a little bit difficult to trust. James and if he's not finding the ends on I just don't think these would be a great game for him. So it was I wrong about I had to not that it matters for in the last 14 games. So it was nine last year and six this year. Okay. I think it's 14. I really hope it's 14 because I actually because you said 14. I was like I close for you said 14. But it was all right producers four touchdown passes against the Vikings in their last how many games. This is for all the marbles. Extremely important stuff here. Anyway, it's I can't wait to talk about those games tomorrow. Tony Pollard, by the way, I think you have backed it back with a shot white, right? And I would start white over in PPR not PPR. I go Pollard, but he's I'm going to give you the last work as you had powered 14th. And he is this is one of those weeks where I'm getting my rankings a little bit more updated after the show today. So he is 18th for me now tied with sports line. And I think like a big key probably is TaiJ Spheres who did not practice on Wednesday. Pollard's involvement in the passing game spiked without Spheres last week. If he has the involvement in the passing game, I think he's pretty close to a must start RB two if he doesn't. And I think he's closer to where Jamie has him. And in the in the 20s, like Jamie's saying, Sid and then it's kind of a getaway from him if you can. But it's not like there's definitely 25 running backs you want to start over. And there's also the game script thing. They've lost only two. They've only been like blown out twice. And I don't even know if I'd called week one against the jets of blowout. The Titans lost by 13 to the jets in that game. They had 10 running back carries. They lost by 23 to Houston. And that game they had 17 running back carries, which would be great if they all went to Pollard, but they're not all going to go to Pollard. They've actually been very competitive in their other five games. They've all been one score games. So he's been getting a lot of work. But you know, like Bengals, they might run away with it. We'll see. And that's not good for for Tony Pollard. I also, and I know it's a weird narrative to sort of attach to a fantasy angle. But if they are going to trade him, do they showcase him or was that a showcase game last week? Or do they put him on ice for a little bit because they don't want to get hurt? That's a good point. All right. Well, we got to take a break. I got to tell you a couple of things. First, then we'll take a break. First of all, FFT Dynasty. Make sure you're listening to it. Great show hosted by Heath. And you can see on YouTube, was a special Friday edition this week will be Friday at 1 p.m. Because I was out on Tuesday. So Friday at 1 p.m. FFT Dynasty. Love it. And Sunday, we've got an NFL on CBS double header filled with a spectacular slate of games. First, the red hot bills host the Ravens. What a great way to start things off. While the Browns and the Steelers battle for the top spot in the AFC North, huge game. And then it's a division showdown out West when Patrick Mahomes leads the Chiefs into Denver against Bonix and the Broncos. JB and the guys kick things off at noon Eastern live in Denver with the NFL today. We will see you Sunday with the NFL on CBS and streaming on Paramount Plus. This is an awesome slate of games this week. I can't wait. And we'll take a break. And then we'll tell you why this is the worst show of the year. If not ever on fantasy football today. Be right back. Today is not. I love I love seeing the different versions of your hair and all the ads. You look so young. I thought you recorded that like seven years ago. Listen guys, today's not a show I've been looking forward to. And I mean that in all sincerity. It's been about two weeks now or I've had this date circled. I've just I can't even like to see the clip of Charles Barkley kind of weeping because Ernie Johnson said it was going to be his last year hosting inside the NBA. It's kind of how I feel right now. Today is Thomas Schafer's last day with us. Not on Earth, but with us here on fantasy football today. And we're going to pay tribute to Thomas Schafer throughout the show. But legitimately and pretty emotional about this. You don't know what it's like to have this extremely calming. Well, maybe you do. Hopefully you do. Extremely calming steady presence in your life. And that's what Thomas is because this show is fun. But the job can be a little chaotic. And Thomas has just he like keeps us on schedule. And he's always so chill. And it's super important in this job. And he take a lot of stress out of my life. And I'm sure everybody else is life. And we are going to freaking miss him. And our show has grown so much since he took over as producer. So stay tuned because every game today has a Thomas Schafer stat of the day, stat of the game. So we'll be doing that. We'll hear from him. I hope at some point. But guys, I was I was not looking forward to today. And here it is. No, you're right. I mean, it's it's it's always difficult when you lose somebody from our work family, you know, to go on to the I think for him bigger and better things. You know, we're as as he's he's alluded to, you know, you you love something you said it free. And you know, it's been it's been an honor to work with Thomas to work for Thomas in a lot of ways, you know, and to have him guide guide the ship. You know, he's he's awesome. And you know, we're all rooting for him in his next venture. And, you know, thankfully, he's groomed Sam to to take over and we're excited for Sam's tenure. But obviously, you know, we're going to we're going to miss Thomas. And I did my last ad read with him yesterday when I got off the the stream yard. I was like, Oh, man, this is a, you know, the patience that this guy has with me. You know, amazing. So we love you, Thomas. We're going to, you know, we're going to miss you a lot. Yes, I you know, I just want to focus on the positive. Really happy.
for him. And I guess more importantly, does this mean Johnny airport's not going to be in the chat anymore? I love it. All right. Plenty more, uh, play where it's all this stuff. Oh, there he is. Just real quick. Um, no, it's been so fun to work with you guys. I've been watching and consuming, uh, fantasy content and specifically fantasy football today. Um, Jamie Dave's articles when I was, uh, in middle school. So it's totally been, uh, full circle, not to like date you guys, but it really, really, uh, has been crazy to work with you, learn from azer, launch, FFT dynasty with heath. Um, so it's definitely better sweet. Um, but I guess the one thing I won't really miss is all the breaking news podcasts, but I'm really, really hoping that when I turn in my equipment today, about five minutes later, we get, uh, Jonathan Taylor to the Minnesota Vikings. And then I just wash my hands a bit. You can't, come on, Thomas, you can't. Fantastic. That's great, man. Yeah. Uh, Thomas, like, yeah, those breaking news podcasts, it's like something happens. The producers, Thomas and Sam, they have to create, uh, a show basically a YouTube thumbnail, link and all that. Get us go and produce it and, uh, edit it, get it up quickly there. Um, gosh, Thomas is next job. All the stories will start off. Quote, I used to work with this guy named Adam and he would definitely, he's gonna have a lot of stories. No doubt. Johnny airport just said, today's our last thing. All right. News and notes, uh, Lamar Jackson expected to play. So if you have Lamar Jackson, Jordan love and, and Bryce Young, what are you guys doing? Playing Lamar Jackson or Lamar Thomas. I was fine. Okay. Uh, the chargers are sticking with Mike McDaniels as their offensive coordinator. Well, that might be Daniel. Yep. I wrote Mike McDaniels. I wrote Mike McDaniels and what did I say? Josh or Mike? He said Mike. Oh, but with a mess. Yeah. Mike McDaniel as their offensive coordinator. Uh, Jeremiah love was limited. Tyler Alger mispractice. They're at Dallas this week. Jamir Gibbs mispractice with a shoulder injury. Also, I'm on Ross St. Brown mispractice, but those guys are expected to be playing, be playing against Minnesota. St. Juan Barclay mispractice and Damien pierces on IR. And I know I put in some bids for Elijah Mitchell, and I have no idea if I got him, but uh, you did in one league. Yeah. I think it's interesting though that they elevated Jayden blue and they put Mitchell back on the practice squad. Yeah, I, I hope that I think that's just procedural, but it was just, yeah, a little weird. Uh, but I can't sit here and just take Saquon Barclay at his word that he's going to play right now. So yeah, after what we saw on Monday night, even if he does play. I mean, there's no guarantee he's going to make it through the game. Yeah. Kenneth Gainwell mispractice, Aaron Jones mispractice. We probably expected that. We'll call him day to day for now. And Breast Hall and Braylon Allen were limited. And I offered Heath Breast Hall and Braylon Allen for Bazel Tutin. And he hasn't hit any button yet. So decline. You're really trying to trade away the jets. Yeah. I am. Um, you should. As he was talking about both Geno Smith and Patrick Holmes, that league where you offered me Jordan love and Breast Hall for Deandre Swift, I have Geno Smith and Patrick Holmes. And I'm just going to stick with Geno. Be fine. Okay. You should probably try to trade Breast Hall to somebody that you haven't been telling for the last month that you're really worried about. Listen to me. You don't care. Uh, Michael Wilson, limited with injured ribs, carnal, tape mispractice with a shoulder injury. Devonte Adams could be back at the shorter end of the six to 10 week timeline. DJ Moore practice. We're very hopeful that more of a non-contact Jersey, though. Yeah. Yeah. That sucks. But hopefully he gets back out there, gets practicing with the if you follow his timeline, it was every week. The two weeks that he missed, it was non-contact Jersey on Friday. And then they would rule him out. So this is a positive sign that it's at the start of the week at least. It'd be nice to see him in a full practice on Thursday. And I just realized that right, right, so we can make decisions or whatever by, well, I don't know, we're going to start Coke or McMillan over him and go in and Watson anyway. You have no wide receiver decisions in that you're starting everybody. Yeah. Um, I forget it. Whatever. Moving on. Jalen knows how for the season that sucks. Josh Downs wants to trade. Stefan Diggs mispractice. He's expected to practice today. Traylon Berks was limited. They play Sunday night against the Eagles. Jalen Waddle mispractice with a chest injury. He's legitimately questionable. We may not have Waddle this week. He's hopeful, though. Rishi Rice, though, he was limited. And they're at Denver. And he's already basically said he doesn't want to start many players in that game. Jamar Chase mispractice. Assuming he's fine. Lad McConkey and Trey Harris were limited, I believe. Ameca Buka was limited. It's good stuff when these guys who are coming off. So a Buka is also non-contact Jersey. And McConkey surprisingly is still in the concussion protocol. Yeah. But obviously trending in the right direction. I thought the bulls quote about a Buka didn't sound as positive as I was hoping for. He just said he has to do more than he's doing to get ready to play. That was yesterday. That was Monday. I thought that was yesterday. Okay. Because I know he said something at the beginning of the week. Monday or Tuesday that was a little bit more pessimistic. And then he showed up a practice. Yes. Okay. And Don Tavy and Rickson Devante Smith both missed practice. So did Kobe. There was a walk. There was a walk through. It wasn't actually official practice. So Kobe Parkinson mispractice. Let's see. Tyler Warren was limited. That's good to see. And then at the offensive line, nothing too major here. Chiefs are getting a little healthier. Patrick Sir Tan looks like he's going to play this week. Tremac Delphi practice for the Rams. So that's cool. Carlton Davis practice. So we might get three very good cornerbacks back this week. Sir Tan McDuffy and Carlton Davis for the Patriots. All right, guys. We're a little behind today. Let's get through one question for each game here. Jamie Cleveland's at Pittsburgh. Do we like the wide receivers in this game? DK. Yes. Bernard is a flex. Concepcion is a flex. Start them in three or three leagues. Boston probably still starting in three or three leagues. But he's the one that I'm the most concerned about. He calls her at the Jaguars. And the Jaguars, I said this on yesterday show, but it's very surprising. They give up the fifth most fantasy points to wide receivers. So how do we feel about Keenan Allen and Josh Downs? I've got Keenan Allen as a high end number three wide receiver. And Josh Downs is just kind of a desperation flex. I don't I don't know. Like we have this squeaky wheel o meter. I'm not sure where request requesting a trade is at on that meter. But yes, yeah, it's it's super squeaky, but he's not asking for more targets. He's asking for a new team. So I think Keenan Allen's the only one you would start. He's in number three. And if you want to, you know, if you want a squeaky wheel, you got to do what Garrett Wilson did. Say you want to stay on the team, but you want more targets. That's kind of what we're looking at here. Would you rather start Keenan Allen or a Brown's wide receiver? I've got Keenan Allen the highest. Yeah, I think I'm really close between concepts. You want to know. And as I'm thinking about, I probably would prefer Allen. So I have to double check that. Raiders are at the jets. Garrett Wilson. I assume is the highest ranked receiver in this game. Who's the second ranked receiver in this game? I'll go back to you, Heath. It is for me currently, Trey Tucker. And I know everybody's worried about a fool. He's never had three good games in a row. He had also, it also never had two good games in a row. But listen, I think you could start Tucker or Cooper as a number three wide receiver. Okay. And look, it's not like Omar Cooper Jr. couldn't fool you either. He's got 11. He's a very similar profile the last two weeks. He's just been awesome with it with it. Yeah. I told Jamie this on who has more. But Heath, did you know that Omar Cooper Jr. has more 50 yard receptions than the Los Angeles Rams? About that. I believe that. The Patriots are at the Dolphins. Jamie, who's the best flex? AJ Brown, Ali Gordon or Ramandre Stevenson? Ramandre. I mean, the Dolphins run defense is tried and true awful. So I think this is another opportunity for Ramandre to come out and look, it was Fuki last week how he got his 22 PPR points with only six carries. I believe it was. He had five catches, 93 yards, but the big play, the 48 yard touchdown at the end of the half pushed him over the top there. I just think that this is he's still the lead running back and the Dolphins can't stop anybody on the ground. Okay. So then AJ Brown or Ali Gordon? I would go Ali Gordon to Hunter Henry 3, AJ Brown 4. Oh my gosh, really? Yeah. Wow. Okay. Dolphins are like top five against receivers. We'll talk about that later. Heath, we just start anyone other than Ken Walker and the DSTs. I'm still starting Travis Kelsey. Not necessarily excitedly, but he's a start. Broncos are 23rd against tight ends. What about Rishi Rice if he plays? He will be in the number three wide receiver conversation ahead of Keenan Allen. Probably not. Wow. Really? Okay. Tennessee's at Cincinnati. Jamie Tony powered or Chase Brown? I go Chase Brown. You know, this feels like a get right spot for him. I think he's going to get the work like we saw last week. Hopefully he does get the end zone opportunities, goal line opportunities. And like I told you earlier, I think it's going to be a little bit of a difficult game for Pollard. This run defense has been very good. They're actually number three in fewest fantasy points allowed to posing running back. So some guys have had success against them. But I just think if Pollard is two receptions or less, that's been the number. I know it's small, but that's been the number. He hasn't been great. And so, like Keith alluded to, if Taijay Spears misses almost everyone's
practice. So that's not really a thing that we have to worry about now. But if he does miss the game, then that helps Tony Powers case. Baltimore is a buffalow. We're expecting a big one here, a bananza. And I realize that Lamar Jackson and Zay flowers have not played a full game together yet. So let's get that going. Get ready. 30 points per game. And Dalton concade starter said he had eight targets in his last game. Heath and the Ravens see the fewest tight end targets per game in the NFL starter said concade. This may be the strongest consensus we've had all season. He is the most borderline startable tight end that you've ever seen. 13th for every one. 12th for sports line. I would start hunter Henry over him for sure. I'd start Chico Conco over him for sure. I would start Brenton Strange over him personally. So probably more of a sit than a start, but not a run away from. And we're going to find out out on your theory if DJ more plays is he better? What that's my theory. You said that you thought he I think that was my theory. Oh, I'm sorry. Excuse me. Excuse me. Sorry. Heath's theory. I apologize. Can I show you guys a Zay flowers clip rule? I think it was actually a pain on an exterior. I can't show this. Never mind. I forgot. I'm not allowed to show that. Go on Twitter. I posted a clip of DJ Turner trying to cover Zay flowers, which he barely did, by the way, in week seven. But he got so burned by flowers that he tried to push him when he was behind him. Just had a depth desperation. It was crazy. And he didn't shadow him. I don't know. Flowers even had a cat. And he had one catch on Turner, but like it was like crazy trying to watch this really good cornerback follows flowers who is. He looks like the fastest player in NFL history right now. Cleve that Pittsburgh. All right. Here's your Thomas Schaefer stat of the game. We asked some of the producers and CBS who have worked with Thomas for some fun facts about Thomas Schaefer. So I don't know how true they are. But here we go. Thomas Schaefer sat at the game. Thomas worked at the golf channel before joining CBS sports. And he consistently breaks 80 golfing. And that's great because Dan broke 80 like one time and he told the entire world about it. Anyway, let's go. There it is. Look at that. Look at that wristwatch with the 77 on it. That's very cool. DeShawn Watson is a sit. He did throw for 308 yards. But how about the other quarterback, Jamie? Do we have any faith in Aaron Rodgers? The last time he played Cleveland, he had a massive game and he's been good most weeks. He has been good most weeks and he was about two feet shy of another big game. Another touchdown last week when he came at calf. Didn't find the ends on. They may have scored a touchdown. He may have thrown the touchdown. Adorno Washington after that. But he's playing well. 20 more fantasy points to four of his last five games. And like you said, the best game he's had this season was against the Browns. In week four, he did throw three touchdowns. He also had 10 receptions in that game. So I think he's okay as a streamer. There's just so many good streamers this week that have better matchups. You have Jacoby Brissett. You have Gino Smith. You have still Kirk cousins. So these guys are in good spots. I would actually just because the matchups take a chance on Kyler Murray over Aaron Rodgers this week. And I'm probably in the minority there. But I just trust this Detroit defense tool out of fantasy points. So Cleveland's not I think a layup, despite what he did against them last time. But I also think that they're going to give him a little bit of a problem. So I could see Leon Jalen Moore and Leon Rico Dattle have a little bit of a fuel go fest and not necessarily huge game for Aaron Rodgers. You have him or Caleb higher. I have Caleb higher. I got Caleb one spot higher too. So cool. And then how would you compare like every time I see some flashes from Quincheon Judkins. I get excited. I it wouldn't shock me if he just went like a good run here. But the steward's are really good against the run. 3.64 yards per carry. They do a lot of receiving yards to running backs. But I assume everyone's going to I assume most people are going to start Jalen Warren. Teeth. How would you wear Warren versus Judkins? Warren versus Judkins. Yeah. Is it easily Warren Warren is a must start running back. Judkins like the way that Jamie described Tony Pollard as I think is exactly how I feel about Quincheon Judkins. You're probably going to start. I mean, he is ranked inside the top 24. I am not super optimistic. But it would be really interesting to see a second week with him and Dylan Samson. And does Judkins get any targets? Because if if Samson's like consistently the passing past catching guy, that's a problem. So the last time these two teams met, Judkins had a huge game catching the ball. I think it was five catches on five targets, five on six targets. Samson is practice one's day. So you know, playing in his first game after the knee injury, you wonder if there's some sort of a hiccup there. My guess is it's probably just maintenance, but something to keep an eye on. Very similar to the Pollard Spears situation. If there is no spears, Judkins should be great. And to your point, Adam, it was week four, very good game. Week five, look like he was playing well, gets injured. Week six misses comes back week seven and he's great again. You know, so Judkins, I think was starting to build towards something and then, you know, suffered the ankle injury I think was. Yeah. Yeah. And he's had like, if we look at Pittsburgh as a tough matchup, he has not run well this year in the tougher matchups. Jacksonville, 12 carries 33 yards, Tampa Bay, 12 carries 21 yards. Pittsburgh 17 carries 53 yards and a touchdown, but he did have those six catches for 43 yards. Route participation rate went way down last week with Dylan. Samson back. It's not a third down thing. He's got a lot of, he's got some catches this year. Judkins, he has one target all year on third down. It's the first and second down passing role that I think Samson ate into a little bit. So that's a big injury. We'll keep an eye on it. I think we expect Samson to play, but yeah. But he's still a start. And then that brings us to the receivers. And I don't know. Jamie, if you want to expand on it, you said Metcalf was a start. Everyone else is kind of in that flex discussion here. It's these guys are going to be tough calls. I don't really know why Aaron Rodgers didn't throw to his wide receivers last week. He just threw to his running backs a ton. But what are we expecting from the four receivers who are going to get a lot of questions about this week? Metcalf, I think has just been very steady. You know, and I think you make a case, you know, he had a better game prior to the Saints game. I forget to play when he had 15 targets in the 11 catches. So his fantasy production was better. I thought the Browns game was his best game, you know, just in terms of how he performed and what his production was. So could you get something similar? I don't think this Cleveland secondary has exactly played lights out where you're running away from opposing receivers against them. And so to your point, will he involve his receivers enough? I think you just sort of the way I'm approaching it as like I was all in on them last week. I didn't trust the Saints defense. I thought it was going to be a continuation of what we saw from Rodgers. He's going to go in the spotlight game and, you know, throw the ball over the place. And it was the run game, which is so dominant. So I think you just treat DK Metcalf as a number two receiver and hope that the targets continue to be there for him. And Jimmie Bernard, you just take a little bit of a step back just from what we saw last week and still trust him in three or three or three leagues. You just don't consider a must-start guy in two or three leagues, which is where I had him last week. So would you start in PPR? Would you start Judkins or these wide receivers? The wide receivers in PPR just, unless Samson's out of Samson's out there for story. Yeah. And then for Concepcion, look his best game prior to the wide receivers or just the- No, the Steelers. Just the Steelers. I think for the Browns guys, I think you asked about both. I'm sorry. Yeah. For the Browns guys, look, Concepcion, six or more targets in five of his last six games. The one time where he didn't do it was the Jets game where he suffered the concussion early in the game. His best game prior to last week was the Steelers game. He had 11.4 PPR points in that game. So I think he's going to be in that similar range. He's very difficult to trust and not in half PPR because of the lack of touchdowns. He hasn't scored one yet in the season. And Boston, one of his best games was against the Steelers, but he's really struggled since then. He does have a touchdown in one of his last three games. But the Steelers, the last time they allowed a touchdown was the Browns game in week four, last three teams that they faced. But I'm sorry. I think even one touchdown to a high receiver in last three games was DeVon Bayley last week. So they've done a much better job just in limiting opposing receivers. And I think Boston and the targets were there from last week. It's just like how he's talked about the Broncos running backs and he touched on this a little bit with the fan and sit. It's you can tell me fans going to have a good game. Sure. You can tell me Concepcion. Sure. Like I would buy any scenario of one of these guys playing well. I just don't think we've seen enough consistency to say, this guy is trustworthy yet. So Boston, with a step back and Concepcion on this step forward, I'm going to lean on the guy that the targets have been consistent for. So I'll start Concepcion over Boston this week. And Boston was actually having a terrible game against the Steelers. They ended up with four for 89. He had a 60 yard gain on busted coverage. And that's he basically is just reliant at a big place every week. It's hard to trust. There's also Rico Dowdell. Would you start Rico Dowdell over any of the wide receivers? Not yet, but he did run really well last week. And I liked the involvement in the passing him too. So just something to keep it on. I think he has nine catches in his last two games. I'm really close to him over Boston. And then Harold Fanon Jr. We talked about at the top of the show. I got I'm sorry. I got to confuse the thing I said about the touchdowns was the tight ends. Fanon scored against them in week four. They have not a lot of touchdown to a tight end in the last three games. Yeah. Fanon is 14th and 15th for for heath and Jamie. He Davis. No, 14th for Jamie 15th for heath. Davis higher has him 10th. Let's read some questions here. DK or Coker. We're going to Coker, right? Yep. Boston or Dowdell just did that. Pretty close. Juddkins are followed. Juddkins for me, but which backup plays. Probably Paul, probably followed for me. I didn't realize that I didn't think Samson was injured. I feel like this maybe just a maintenance day. I'm not disagree with that.
I'm just telling you mispractice wasn't yeah, whereas with Pollard's back up spears like spears missed the game last week Lad or Jeremy Bernard I would go a lot of you place. I would go Jeremy Judkins bird and Boston pick one PPR I still go burden unless Samson's out. Yep Cooper or Concepcion Cooper it's Concepcion for me I still like I see Cooper, and I'm just like what who oh, I'm are yeah, right Judkins or Corham Judkins Judkins yeah, I'm gonna start coke over Judkins. Yep. Yeah, Samson, Dowdell or Harvey Dowdell yep, I would go Harvey and PPR Harvey. Yeah, I mean look things can change week to week last week. He had just a terrible role Coleman aid into both running backs rolls. It sucked and All right Bernard or Hawkinson We're lad. Oh, we're lad I didn't see that. I might I'll go Hawkinson. I Have Bernard Brown's DST or Broncos DST Broncos Broncos you know The numbers wouldn't really support that honestly that Brown's DST's been good almost every week and Including against the Steelers they get a ton of sacks In fact, you guys have the Steelers ranked ahead of the Browns. I had Had a tough call with them because I had a lot of the Browns from last week and You know, but the Browns give up the second most fantasy points of DST. So that does make sense I'm just worried with how bad the Browns run defense has been That the Steelers just hand off 30 times. Yeah, that's true is that's their Achilles heel All right, we'll be right back with another Thomas Schaefer stat of the game as we get into the Colts and the Jaguars after this There's the guy you are right now and there's the guy you know you could be Hymns is here to help you close that gap and get there There's a specific feeling that comes from actually taking control of your health not from talking about it But from actually doing it whatever's been holding you back Hymns has a real plan for it built around you Confidence is not an accident. That is a genuinely excited happy person Good times good times. I wish I had been at that holiday party Okay Yeah, sit the Colts except for Taylor. What if Tyler Warren plays we going right back to him? Yeah, yeah, and don't just sit Keenan Allen and you know, we had talked about him earlier thought that I'm doing one question for each game, but he's a Number three wide receiver. We wish we had as much faith in Josh Downs not quite there and All right Trevor Lawrence is a top five quarterback You know, I went back and I watched Parker Washington's touchdowns if anybody has a chance to watch the four touchdowns Parker we're insane every one of them was like a high degree of difficulty. It's incredible And he dropped one against Texans, right? Did he? I don't remember he dropped to keep pass. I don't remember was touched. I don't know does that make you nervous like he's doing things that are unsustainable Not with the targets being there, you know, I think the if there was like he's He's trying to think if he stands all Bostoning the his games, you know like these these Flukey players or last you know desperation scenarios then yes, I'd be concerned, but I mean he's consistently getting opportunities If you want to hear about Trevor Lawrence, that's at the top of the show the players we love Basil Tutton has a good matchup the Colts they allow the seventh most receiving yards per game the running backs They allow 4.5 yards per carry to running backs They should be good for for Basil Tutton. He's the top 18 running back Jalen Warren or Basil Tutton Well, that's a great question because I struggle with that one, but Warren. Are you laughing about who has more No, yeah, you just want you that was a great way to bring that up. You wanted it. Oh, yeah, it's this who has more hair Thomas or Trevor Lawrence It's Trevor Lawrence now, but I think of that picture of David Thomas I'm sorry, I interrupted you, but the good one from the chat there Okay, anyway, start Tutton Jacobi Myers or Keenan Allen. What do you guys prefer? That's a great one. I probably lean Allen, but it's close Yeah, I mean when when Myers gets targeting, you know, he's he's good five catches for 83 yards on 10 targets That was a shootout with Houston This is a 10 point spread. We may not get a lot of pass attempts from Trevor Lawrence just that's right to keep in mind And then there's the Travis Hunter factor as if there's also the Brian Thomas factor. They're going to feature him this week Well, I mean if they will if they want to win No, I hope he can catch the ball He's just been played based on what we've seen so far this season throwing to him doesn't exactly make him look more appealing Yeah, it's got it true. Let me just check Travis Hunter's roster percentage here He's an interesting guy could easily be the most added or the most drop player next week But he's 8% roster'd say probably won't be most drop. I added him in a couple of 14 team leagues just in case Okay, and Brenton Strange Yeah, he's already made the case The rankings are so different on this one Brenton Strange is Sixth for Heath and 12th for Jamie and 14th for Dave Jamie, why are you a little hesitant to start Brenton Strange? Oh, there's just a lot of good side ends this week You know, so I think Strange is a very good streamer if he was dropped I think if he's been your starter you're happy to have him in this game like you said It's been nine ppr points for more in three straight games So that feels like the floor the colds are struggled with tight ends lately So hopefully it's just another opportunity for him like he said he's been getting those chances And so anytime you're getting those opportunities you're going to I think have it for him at least he's going to have the opportunity to To be productive so Again, you know, you like him better than he likes him better than some of the guys I have higher than him That's totally fine. There's just a lot of good. I think Hockinson and like I have a conco once bought ahead of him Obviously, I'm very excited about Hunter Henry. You know, so these guys were available on waivers I think Strange is definitely in the conversation to be a starter Let's get to some chat questions here Jonathan Taylor or Christian Watson in ppr Unless you're concerned about them sitting Taylor. I'm playing Taylor. Yep Jalen Warren or Begell Tutton rest of season I'm still going to go Warren. I would too Retten stranger Travis Kelsey and half ppr I have Kelsey higher, but I can certainly see strange being better I just barely have Kelsey higher Okay, you have Kelsey. Oh, it's you must really like Kelsey this week He's he's at the top of the like like Jamie said like it's a it's a big group once you get far really too Especially with Kittle and likely not playing this week Begell Tutton chase brown or Jalen cocker ppr Uh, I go to I in ppr I think I have cocker heist. I mean, that makes sense also That's that's the debate there. I'm not chase brown ppr No, no defore's bonk buckner's gonna be big for this cold. That's true. Yeah, and you could run on them before that Yeah, Koram Caleb Douglas or Brenton strange ppr Strange Yeah, yeah Brent stranger key on coal man. I Can I could see Coleman if there's no DJ more he's clearly been very successful in that role, but if DJ more plays it's easily strange Yeah, yeah, and Brenton stranger Kyle pits Oh Strange for me. Strange. Okay, it's just Playing this team. I've been looking forward to hearing the Kyle pits versus Tampa Bay stats. Well, I did a short bit in my tight end Call on this week, but I knew that Jamie would have the full breakdown of it's it's incredible It's really incredible. Oh right the best tight end game ever last year, but it's not it's it's the last five games He just absolutely destroyed them interesting So did you say pits over strange, Jamie? Oh, you said there's two three there's three tight ends this week pits is my third ranked tenant I think coming I think coming into this season Oh more than half of his touchdowns in his career had been against Tampa Bay I love it this great stuff jaguars dst is top two Stardom Raiders are at the jets Thomas Schaefer's that of the game Thomas took over producing fantasy football today in August of 2022 He has been around for roughly 2,276 episodes and streams Wow, that's a lot. I'd like to see the chart of ffts
It's growth under Thomas because he's done a fantastic job. The rocket chip emojis. Yes. It's that of the game that may not matter. Kirk Cousins in garbage time. He has scored about 16.5 fantasy points in the fourth quarter in two straight games. Those games were against Buffalo and the Rams. He scored about six to eight fantasy points in the first three quarters of those two games. They trail by 10. At the beginning of the fourth quarter and one, they trail by 22. At the beginning of the fourth quarter and the other. Does that matter at all that he's garbage timed his way the last two weeks to production heath? I mean, does it matter for it should go be percent that he's done it for the last year and a half? Well, it's just the difference between facing the Jets and facing the bills and Rams. Right. No, I think it's a really tough decision. There's kind of three guys that are kind of in the same category for me. It's Geno and it's cousins and it's percent and those three guys are all not far from QB 12. I rank them Geno, cousins, percent, but I have a hard time arguing with rank than any order. I think in the case of cousins to your point, read the four teams that they've just lost to. Oh, we got the chiefs, bills, Rams, and Patriots. Those are four really good teams. And so my concern with him, I said this going in the last week is going to be my concern moving forward. They're going to bench them at some point. And if they stinking against the Jets early, you may get Fernando Mendoza in this game. So just understand the risk with her cousins. It's the higher risk, I think, than even per se getting benched and there's certainly little risk with Geno getting benched. So just understand that if you're banking on cousins, that being said, this is a game that they can win. They haven't had those chances. I know they've been in some games, but they haven't had those chances to go in and say, okay, we're going to be the better team. And you can make a case that they're the better team. Now with what's Gen T said yesterday, I don't know if that helps or hurts his cause, where he basically said, we can run on this team. There's some guys over there that don't want to tackle however he phrased it. That's rich coming from Ashton Gen T. It's extremely coming from. You should have said, Mike Washington Jr. can run on this team, but there's some guys that don't want to tackle. I just think that they can't run the ball. And so the hope would be is that the 45 and a half stands and we get a shootout and we get Geno versus cousins back and forth and you're getting that type of production from him. It's just when you look at it, they're, forget about the names. Bowers obviously is a different story and then still genty, but like Bowers points per game, amazing, genties points per game, very solid, cousins points per game, amazing, entry, Tucker's points per game, extremely solid. They have a legit top four, starting four in fantasy because Tucker's number two receiver in genties, borderline number one running back, cousins is top 10 quarterback. So like if you're just taking that alone, you're starting cousins and not even worried about it. And they faced the chiefs and the Rams and the Patriots, bills are a good matchup. But they've had some tough matchups, the jets aren't really that. I don't think the jets are a terrible defense. They are 17th against quarterbacks. They are 17th against running backs. They are 15th against wide receivers and they're actually 5th best against tight ends, but they've struggled the last couple of weeks against that position. So they seem like a pretty average defense. And I don't know. This is really a kind of a fascinating game with a lot of buzzworthy guys right now. And I think, you know, cousins, so let me just look at the rankings updated here. Cousins is 10th for Jamie and Geno is 14th. Cousins is 13th for a heath and Geno is 11th. So top 14 for both of them, for both of you, but Jamie prefers cousins and Heath prefers Geno Smith. Jared golf is like right there with those guys and that same range and percent and percent Caleb Williams is just behind those guys. Tyler Murray is behind those guys, right? Yes. Yes. Just behind Geno. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So that's those guys. We're going to start action Gen T because he's so involved in the passing game. And I think I asked who the second best receiver is in heath. You said Trey Tucker? I did. Jamie said Cooper. Jamie said Cooper. No, no, I said Tucker. Oh, okay. I'm sorry. Yeah. Is Garrett Wilson a must start? Yes. Yeah. I mean, you had the shower narrative, right? Of what they, they came out, they came out of the locker room together after the distribution of. They had a long conversation in the shower. Yeah. Okay. A shower is a great, you know, the best place to do your thinking, right? So you're just like the most clear, clear minded point of any one's day. Um, I really need to shower after this episode. Wow. It's been a while. A side note. It's not completely like I actually thought about this the last couple of weeks with your closed narratives and like the socks that you were wearing the day before and I was like trying to piece it together. I was like, well, clearly he doesn't shower before bed and he doesn't shower when he wakes up. And those are kind of the two times a day that people shower and see you just like you shower on in Thursday afternoons. It's really, it really varies. I was going to shower last night, but I got so late. So by the way, congratulations to the brewers. If you're a brewers fan, I guess this must be one of the best days of your life, amazing stuff. But I was up late last night. I didn't have a chance. I was going to shower this morning, but I had all the Thomas stuff to put in the notes. So, you know, after there's the afternoons, showers don't take that long. They do for me. I guess if you do it once a week, you get a really scrubbed. Okay. Trade Tucker or DK Metcalfe, Trade Tucker or Jeremy Bernard? I haven't met Kalf Tucker Bernard, but I can see somebody trusting Tucker more. It's fine. Yeah, I haven't met Kalf Bernard Tucker, but they are very, very close. And then where's Omar Cooper Jr. today? A head of Bernard, but right behind Tucker, behind those guys. He's a headache for me. I mean, yeah. Yeah. I had him versus Concepcion. And I think we're going to get more targets in one of my leads. We're going to get more targets, I think, for Concepcion. But this is a better matchup. Yes. Cooper has the better matchup. Yeah, I also think there's a couple of sleeper plays here, and clearly the Jets running back is something worth monitoring, because if. Yeah, we've got to talk about that. free-saw plays. I think you should start them. If free-saw is out, I think you start playing around. I think it could still be a sleeper, though, if free-saw plays, because of what the potential workload could be. And I think that there's two tight ends that could be considered sleepers. Your Mason Taylor has been playing much better. He's got six targets. He has to be the last two games coming off a two-touch time game. The Raiders are terrible against tight end top five. Most fantasy points are out to the position. And I do think Michael Merrick gets back involved here. This is not the Rams. This is a much different defense. Like you said, they've struggled the last two weeks. And I don't think that's a bow or step. I think this is more of a mayor step, because mayor is more the traditional tight end for them. So, they've been bad. And mayor, prior to last week, 12.2 PPR points or more, three of his previous four games, wouldn't shock me if he's more involved and productive. I just want to say, because I am the low guy, I think, on Cooper, and it's not a dislike of him. It's just in the projections process. Like if you average 10 yards per target, you are an elite wide receiver. And it takes a couple of months of that for me to believe you're going to continue doing it. Omar Cooper's only played three games. He's average 19.1 yards per target. Yeah. Just insane. So like that 12 targets over the last two weeks, he's been awesome with them. But if we're really expecting a squeaky wheel game from Garrett Wilson, I can't expect more targets from Cooper. Yeah. And just to keep in mind, we haven't seen, unless I'm missing somebody, even Cardinal Tate. These rookie receivers, they've given you a couple of games and then they fall off. And so it happens in Denzel Boston. It happened with Jeremy Bernard. Don't get upset with Omar Cooper if he has a bad game here, because there are, as he said, with the Geno Smith conversation earlier. This is a offense that has a lot of great pieces to it. It's just, you know, you're, I think if I saw it correctly, if the season end today, they'd have three picks in the top 12 in the NFL draft. Like that's amazing and can easily go address their quarterback of the future if they find the right guy. This team's going to be really fun. So, would you, let's get to Breeze Hall here. If he plays, would you start Breeze Hall or Quinshon Judkins? Hall. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Would you start Breeze Hall or Jalen Warren? Warren. Warren. Would you start Breeze Hall or Basil Tutten? Tutten. Tutten. Damn it. I want you all. I want you all. So I could make him force him to make the trade. But yeah, God. If you, if you see the rankings, one of us going to have to make it or two, well, he's never chimed in. So Dave and I were on opposing ends of this in our, in our ranking stuff. So I ranked Breeze Hall. Dave did not. He decided with Dave and didn't say anything. So that's why you see somebody posting in the comments. That's why you see Braylon Hound significantly higher for those two guys instead of me. We have this email thread and I've been just scrambling. And so I just saw the last message from Dave and I was just like, okay, I guess that's what we're doing. It was the last message. And then I looked at the rankings this morning and saw Jamie ranked him. So I will, oh, wait, and on that, at some point, I mean, I feel like he was fairly close to playing last week. That's what my approach was. He starts with a limited practice. And he's not the only one of those guys I think they're four of them aren't they, Jamie? It was Maconkey, a book.
D.J. Moore and freestyle. And why don't you tell us whether we're ranking those guys or not. I would rank for Kunky and I would rank, I would definitely rank freestyle. He's the most confident. We don't generally rank guys in the concussion protocol. Well, then I didn't know that, then just rank freestyle. Well, the way that I approached it was that fact when he practiced Monday, I thought hockey was playing. Yeah. I mean, the good news is I would start both. Jacob's and Chubba Hubbard over Breeze Hall. Yeah. And I was right in my guess over Braylon Allen, but it wouldn't surprise me. Braylon Allen were better if Breeze Hall were out. So that's unfortunate. I don't think any of us, I don't think the other two Heath and Dave don't have hall over anybody in tonight's game. Right. I knew England's at Miami. Thomas Schafer's out of the game. Thomas has been compared to the House of Dragon character with the foot fetish. He looks like that guy on House of the Dragon. We have a picture there. That guy. Okay. No, that's an insult. That's an insult. Yeah. I can see it. I'll take it and stride them. Yeah. I can see it. It can't all be great stuff, Thomas. I mean, that's two people on our show that look like a House of the Dragon. I'm very, very disappointing Halloween experience for me. It could not find an auto high tower cost to him anywhere. You don't need a high costume. Just get his clothes. Water cooler. Sad of the game is bad hunter. Please tell me, by the way, you have the timeout photo somewhere ready to go. What timeout photo when we start early and oh, no, I don't have that on Thomas's best moment. No, sorry. I gave you a stat about hunter Henry trying to make hunter Henry history happen. Practical stat of the game, though, is that the dolphins have allowed 15.8 or more PPR fantasy points to a running back in every game. That's wild. So listen, let's play this one out. Drake May is obvious. You're going to start him. Hunter Henry, we've already talked about the guys love him this week or like him a lot. Anyway, he's top eight for everyone. AJ Brown is a number two receiver. He's top 20, but just barely. Let's go. AJ Brown. I mean, the dolphins third best against receivers, but that's because only two wide receivers have more than six targets against Miami, so that's maybe one of the reasons why we're not really thrilled with starting AJ Brown also, he's been terrible. But Ramon. What's that yesterday with a knee injury on top of the ankle injury? Who is? AJ Brown. As a knee injury. He had a knee injury when he did his physical this off season, right? I didn't see that. I'm sorry. But yeah, like Ramon generally had six carries last week. My biggest fear, because I think I'm the lowest low guy on Rwondra is I think we all expect this game to turn into a blow out. And my biggest fear is that we get fourth quarter Corey Kiner again. Maybe. We got little Corey Kiner last week. The one thing about the dolphins, they haven't been getting blown out. That's true. But they have played the Raiders, the Niners, Chiefs, Vike, yeah, I mean, it's actually a pretty tough schedule. They haven't really been getting blown out, so what's the spread here at seven? Yeah. I'm going to roll. That's a pick. Yeah. Um, the dolphins got screwed though for this four o'clock game, you know? Oh, because it's not going to be as hot. Yeah. Yeah. So with Ali Gordon, my concern is that he he does run a lot of routes, but he doesn't catch the ball. And I think part of that is what they've been competitive. What happens if they fall behind here? Malik Willis hasn't really been throwing to his running backs, but he did with Achan. You know, he was about middle of the pack and running back target rate with Achan. I guess I could see if they fall behind. I could see three or four catches for Gordon, because he runs 60% of the routes, which is great. But Jamie earlier, he ranked at Ramondra Gordon, AJ Brown. Heath, how would you rank those three? No, no, Hunter Henry, AJ Brown. So Ramondra Gordon, Henry Brown? Yes. Heath. I have Gordon, I think, at the top. Oh, wow. Okay. Go ahead, discuss Henry or Gordon versus Ramondra. Like I don't, I get not wanting to buy it, but I just, it's hard to doubt as good as Oli Gordon has been since he's gotten this role. And the Patriots' run defense is probably above average, but I don't think they're great like they were last year. So I just, I mean, as good as Oli Gordon's been, I'm just, I'm just going to start him. Yeah, I agree. I think just one of those things. I just think Ramondra's matchup is better and he's been as productive as Gordon and certainly more involved in the passing game. So that's why it's for me, I would lean Stevenson, but I think just looking at it, like Gordon's touchdowns and a touchdown and a four straight games. Like you said, Heath, this run defense has not been as, you know, dominant. They're still very good. They're just not as dominant. Now, the one thing would be is like, they're going to make mulecules win this game. You know, they're going to stop through their best of stop Oli Gordon. But every team has tried to stop Oli Gordon, and he just has run through them. You know, it's, my biggest miss so far this season by far was that Waverwire week of not being more in on Oli Gordon and kudos to him and people that that butt into it. He's been amazing. And just to make the point, our ranking of Oli Gordon is pretty much identical. The difference is Ramondra, like we all have 18th or 19th of Raleigh. Yeah. Okay. So Oli Gordon or Breeze Hall, if Breeze Hall plays easily in non-PPR, it's Gordon. Half it's probably close, full PPR, I probably would lean Hall, but that's in pencil. I think Hall is probably, like I'll have to do the projections once we get that, or I decide to rank him. But I'll probably put Hall just ahead of Gordon. Who's the best start in the Dolphins passing game, if there is one? I mean, this feels like Caleb Douglas is getting Christian Gonzalez. Yeah. Probably Malik Washington. I don't, I don't know if he will, but like, I think it'll be like a dunesay last week. So we take him on one side and, and yeah, like I thought Carl and Davis would stay on one side of the field. And I think you pretty much, I mean, Christian Gonzalez, I think you pretty much did. It was a different side of the field. And I thought but Carl and Davis back in this game. So I imagine those guys just stay on one side. And that means that regardless of where Caleb Douglas lines up, he's going to be against the difficult corner. He lines up out wide like 90% of the time. But is it Dolph such like a better start or no? I don't want to chase that, but he could be. You know, I mean, this, first time that we saw them all healthy and Malik Washington struggled as a result. Yeah, but it was only two targets for Caleb to three targets for Douglas and four for Chris Bell. But he's just, he's amazing. Like he, you know, we, we, and I know I get a lot of pushback whenever I mention Pete's name. But like, Chris goes said after the draft, he's like, I know everybody likes Chris Bell. Caleb Douglas is going to be better. Yeah. I think, and I don't know if that's the case, but it's certainly the case right now. I think they could, you know, I think they could use, they could shadow him with with Gonzales. I guess it wouldn't shock me because he, I feel like he's the key to winning this game for the Dolphins. They need it. I think the thing for me is like Malik Washington's in the slot half of his snaps. Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell are below 20% of their snaps. If I'm going to have to, I don't want to start any of the Dolphins wide receivers, but if I'm going to have to, I want to start the guy who's going to be on the slot. The most and it's Washington. He's the safest without questions safest. I mean, we have no questions here. Kora Maremandre. Maremandre. Yup. And then Kora Mareburden. Burn them. Burn them. Burn them. AJ Browner's Zack Sharbenay. AJ. Again, he's the top 20 wide receiver, but Stevenson or Rishi Rice, half PPR. Stevenson. AJ Browner, Coker. Coker. Max or Jags DST. Jags number one for me. I think Patriots are two, so it's right there. I have the Jags two and the Patriots three. Okay. AJ Browner, Braille and Allen, half PPR. It's Allen easily if Brie Sal is out. It's Brown for me if Brie Sal is. Agreed. Lab McConkey or Caleb Douglas? Lab. Caleb Douglas or Chris Godwin, PPR? Godwin if a poop is out. Okay. All right. Next game is. I mean, his target share was so amazing. Yeah. We have three games left. Oh, that's. 45%. Lot of games left. I think these games are pretty easy though. Thomas Schaefer's out of the game. Thomas is a massive Vikings fan. The team is 310, 243 and 2 in the regular season in his lifetime, but just 8 and 17 in the playoffs. Thomas, jump on here real quick. Do you think the Vikings are legit? Thomas is already out his new game. Oh, sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm trying to take the lower off. I mean, the defense is legit. I don't. I don't understand how bad this. How are all offenses this bad? You know, the 2000 Ravens won with an offensive-minded coach, Brian Belichack, or Belich. Brian Belich. And he was the Vikings OC with the 98 team. So maybe we have a legit shot. Actually, one of our research guys, Douglas Klausen, does an amazing job put together a packet about the Vikings and how they're basically the most lopsided team in this century in terms of their EPA on defense and special teams versus offense. But then he compared them to other teams that were so much better on defense and special teams than offense, where it's like their offense is dragging them down, basically, but they're really good. And those teams, including the 2000 Ravens, they were. Some of them went to the Super Bowl, some of them won the Super Bowl.
so the Vikings might be legit. - Where would you rank the Vikings in the NFC West? The NFC North's really good too, but the Seahawks 49ers Rams Vikings. - I mean, I think two or more facts like staff are the ones that can tear up the Vikings defense, and we've seen that in the past, so I don't know. I think we would actually have more success about against the Seahawks than the Rams, as crazy as that sounds. - I don't know if you're asking me or the guys. - It was definitely you, I don't like Adam. - Yeah, I'll get back to Kansas City in Denver here. We want to sit Patrick Mahomes, we're going to start Kenneth Walker. We'll come back to Rishi Rice in a second. You guys have Travis Kelsey, Ranked as a starter, Kelsey. Wait, he said you're going to move Kelsey? - Yeah, I think he could be like six. - Oh boy, I don't have that much confidence at him. I think I'm going to start Dallas Goddard over him. If Davante Smith doesn't play, and I don't have a lot of confidence in Dallas Goddard either. I don't know. - They're right in the same neighborhood, for sure. - Kelsey is a better chance to score a touchdown for sure. And the Broncos have struggled against Titans, they're 23rd against Titans. They just got crushed by McBride, but also Kelsey had 71 yards on five targets. Kittle had a good game, Higby had a very good game. This might be just a good, maybe I'll start Kelsey. - Kelsey had the big catch, I'm not mistaken. - Yeah, he did. - Like an AD hard catch or something. And I think Huffongo is not going to play again. - Okay, so Rashid Rice is tough. I assume you'd start Rashid Rice over any running back in this game for Denver, for Denver. - Yeah, he's safer. I mean, he did score a touchdown. I said safer, not safer. He scored a touchdown in the first game, but two catches for 19 yards. - Would you start him over Jalen Waddle if Waddle plays? - Yes. - Would you start Waddle period if he plays? - No. - Okay. He's got back-to-back games with seven targets. That's not bad. - Yes, and then Sean Peyton tried to kill him on the reverse. Rashid bowed next, tried to kill him. Excuse me. No, there's just enough body of work at this point. Like the chief defense is good. You know, when he's placing good matchups, then yes, maybe you go back to Jalen Waddle. It's frustrating. And now he's playing hurt again. Like. - Any one cash for two yards on three targets in week one against the chief. - I mean, we're gonna start to, you know, discuss who's the biggest bust this year and Waddle's gonna be on that list or close to it. - If he's out, where would you rank Cortland Sutton? - Number three receiver at best. - 36. - If he is out and Rashid rises out, is Xavier Worthy better than Cortland Sutton? - Barely. Barely. - But Worthy had one great game and one terrible game in the two that Rice has missed. And the terrible game was against Seattle. I missed if I have any chat questions here. But real quick on the DSTs. Oh, by the way, there's no way I would ever, in a million years, consider starting in. But if he has a good game, consider this a win for me than I call it. But Evan Ingram was actually good against the chiefs in week one and the chiefs are absolutely terrible against tight ends. It's crazy. But yeah, I would never start him. But if he goes, if he has a good game, you're welcome. Okay, Kelsey or Lad McConkey. - Lad. My homes are golf. - Golf. - Keep her league. Would you keep Ken Walker or Thomas Schaefer? - Schaefer. - Yeah. - Schaefer. - AJ Brown, Rashid Rice or Luther Burton? - Burton and Brown. - I would sit Rice. - Gross, this man has been on TV this week and had no shower, maybe the Harry Potter cloak. Cloak to the-- - Oh, no, please don't tell me you went to the city without showering. - No, I shot the last time I showered. Tuesday morning before I went to the show. - Yeah. Oh, 'cause I shave, you know, I have to look good. I just actually look good for that show. - Yeah, I, maybe I'm weird. I don't remember the last time I went 48 hours. - No, it's bad. - Unless I was camping or something. - This is very rare. Preset or my homes? - Preset. - Yeah. - Preset, my homes or color, Murray? - Preset. - Coleman or Dobbins? - Coleman. - If you didn't, listen, we don't have any idea. I saw somebody post, I don't know, if it's ESPN's depth chart, fantasy, something, whatever, but they list, I think it's not a fantasy thing, excuse me. They list Coleman as number one running back. And if you look at our projections from sports line, Coleman's the number one projected running back. So again, I don't think anybody knows, but Sean Payton at this point, but the momentum is definitely there for Coleman. - I feel like Dobbins might still be the goal line back. - Dobbins may still be their best back. I mean, it doesn't appear that way, but he could be. - Okay, I got to do a little more, Jonah. Jonah Coleman or Rico Dowdell? - Coleman. - It's Dowdell for me. - Coleman or Cora? - Cora. - Cora. - If both Vikings running back's play against the Lions, would you start Coleman over, either Aaron Jones or Jordan Mason? - I would consider it over Jones if he doesn't practice and then place. - All right, let's move on. Chiefs are Broncos DST, who do you like better? - Broncos, let's go. - Chiefs are the most fantasy bads. - They love the fewest fantasy points to chiefs to DSTs. And Broncos were bad against them in week one. So. - Yeah. - All right, Tennessee's at Cincinnati. Thomas shares a birthday with Babe Ruth, Bob Marley, Axel Rose, and Rick Asley. (humming) (humming) Rick Rollger there. Did you know that Thomas? - I knew the Babe Ruth and Bob Marley won. - Okay. - I didn't know about Rick. - Why would you? Okay, we talked a lot about Tony Pollard earlier in the show. Carnell Tate. Carnell Tate, Tony Pollard, Chase Brown rank them. Brown Tate, Pollard, for me. Brown Pollard Tate. - I wonder if Tate is gonna get the DJ Turner treatment here. I don't know if you love the shadow. - What, I would, yeah. - You love DJ Turner? - Yeah. - Are you related? - Are you related? - Good. (laughing) - You're related DJ Turner. - He's not great, but I love a guy who shadows. And I thought for sure he'd shadows a flower because he did it twice last year and he didn't do it at all in week seven. And look what happened. But that's not my mind, that's not my mind. So, all right, Carnell Tate. Wait, I'm sorry. Can you rank him again? I lost my train of thought there. - You only get Pollard Tate with Pollard in Tate. - Brown Pollard Tate for Heath. And Jamie, for you, it was what? - Brown Tate Pollard. And we're starting Chase Brown. Okay, Chase Brown or Rachel Tutton. Tutton, I've got Brown Hire and full BPR. - Chase Brown or AJ Brown? - Chase. - Chase. - Okay. - Start Joe Burrow. Start Chase. Start, like Chase this week. Chase from R Chase. Start C Higgins. And. - I just weigh over paid for Chase and Gatine League. - Would you pay? - 400. But the next size bit was like 285. Out of 1,000. - Yeah. But I've almost got chopped last week and I have so many weak 8 buys. It was like, if I don't want to end up losing with my budget still in my, so that would still have even money on my hands. - I don't want to shortchange the game, but honestly, we talked a lot about Tony Pollard earlier today. So, and I think Chase Brown a little bit too. So I'm not gonna just repeat it. Yep, I'm, so chat questions. Using Thomas as another excuse for Adam to sing and Rick Rollas. Okay, pick one. DJ Moore, Carnell, Tate, McCoy, Lemon. - I'll take more if he plays than Tate, then Lemon. - Yep. - Adam Shower's only. - I just feel that, that avatar by the way, that's amazing. - Which one? - Oh, Jay, yeah, I love it. Chase Brown, Ramon, Chase, Stevenson, or Rashad White. - Ooh, tough one. - Ramon, Chase for me. Chase for me. - Tony Pollard, Jonah Coleman, Eli Mitchell. - Tom Pollard. - Yep. - Next game. Last game. Thomas. - I feel like Mel must have like 50 leagues. - Maybe. Thomas, this is your last game. Think about that. The last game that you're gonna be your last preview game on FFT is Baltimore at Buffalo. We saved the best for last. Thomas Shaffer's out of the game. This is just for me. Thomas. - Wait, wait, wait, wait. How are we not doing the Vikings game today? - Ah, sorry. - How did you screw that up? - The bad job. - Thomas is by, let me read the sad game. Thomas is by far the coolest member of the FFT crew and often helps me with young person terminology. And that is going to be very hard to replace. - If you can only help you with air quotes. (laughing) - And let's see a little libido over there. There he is. - There he is. - Yeah, that's fantastic. - On official mascot, he's still alive and kicking. He's 17, about to be 17 years old, so. - Wow. - You're going strong. - What kind of dog is that? - A pulmaranian. - That's what I thought. I don't really know dogs very well. Very cute, his name is LeBinho, not libido. And he's friggin' adorable. - But Sam's younger than me, so he'll be, he's got the, you know, the words that I don't know. - Yeah, I'll help you with this stuff. - Sam is here.
I was gonna say like Thomas is just about aging out of the helping with the young guy Would you start in gray in your beard? It's you're your cooked. Oh, yeah, I don't know anything about that My my 14 year old and my 12 year old had a conversation last night. I had no idea what they said really not not a clue Not one word made sense nothing you gotta learn we got to reach a younger demographic. You got to learn Are there any tough calls in this game? Ravens bills. Yeah, I mean obviously if DJ more plays. I think he's a number two receiver if he's not You're gonna have some key on Coleman Clio Shakir questions, but we don't know that yet So if you have them send them, but I think Coleman is a Strong number three receiver. Look he scored touchdown three straight games and I believe it's three of the five or four The five that more is either left early or did not play he scored at least all ppr points So he's been very productive without more on the field now. Will he be productive with more of that's the question Shakir has got 11 ppr points or more in three straight games Heath's here heathed theory on Concade with more could come to fruition here, you know as as we saw the rankings We all a little bit concerned, but also a little bit encouraged by Concade borderline starter And I think for Baltimore you kind of know you're starting the triplets right you're starting jacks and you're starting Henry Starting flowers no matter you know no matter what for the skill player is even a fondly place This is kind of a proven week. Well, I don't I wouldn't say that actually for Derek Henry because I know the bills They give up a ton of fantasy points to running backs, but they actually so much of that is receiving they are 3.6 yards per carry to running backs and they've done most of that without ed Oliver and I assume he could come back this week He's missed much of the season For starting him. Yeah, of course you're starting Derek Henry, but yeah With it's not necessarily the best matchup for him, but Lamar Jackson seems to open things up for Derek Henry, of course Yeah, Coleman and right if you have any Coleman questions go ahead and fire away, but it's really depending on DJ more I was actually very surprised when I did the waiver fire Tuesday How roster Jacobi Laneis Getting five targets to straight games, but I think Huntley probably throws more than then Lamar Not as well though. Well, I'm just saying like there's a lot of investment in Jacobi Laneis 75% roster or 74% And so I'm curious if he has a big game like where the like you see the next guy he could easily be the next guy You know, I mean this bills defense is bad and like he could be you know There's two guys. I think we'll talk about next Tuesday if Lane has a big game Malachi field is one because he's played well and The next two rook your savers that were I'm yeah, all right. Let's read some questions here Rishi rise DJ Moore or James and William is picked to Sit rise there rise That's it JMO Is Jacobi Lane a start? Not yet, but no clearly people are stashing him and I get it Lamar or love Warren or craft You have to play craft. Yep, and then I would go Lamar. Yep Start Luther burden DJ Moore or Matthew golden Golden if you place. Yep, and if not burdener more more burdened if you place Michael mayor or Mark Andrews Mayor for me somebody in the chat was upset. We didn't talk about Mark Andrews like Most weeks he's not as good as the other guy he's playing with Whether it's Quavis or Hibner. I mean, is has that been the case with Lamar Jackson? I definitely well catching a touchdown they flowers hasn't been healthy. That's true. Andrews has one touchdown on the season and two games over 10 PPR points J Kobe Lane or Jeremy Bernard Gerard Okay, KC conception and James and Williams are Keon Coleman Sure Keon No, I'm not but let's do I would go JMO I would go JMO also Okay, but Coleman's been really good when DJ Moore's been out except that game against the Rams where he had like three catches called back on penalty It's not that he would have been that good with them, but he's been really good. That's the game he left. I think it's only bad game then yet No, that wasn't the game he left. That was that was a more than playing that one. No I'm almost positive. I think you're right. Yeah, and by the way four touchdowns in their last 14 games boy It's up now Five in their last 15 that's according to Thomas don't doubt Thomas on his last day Thomas Can't thank you enough The good thing Exhive lost touch with some of the guys who I you know was close with when we were working like Thomas like a bench ragger Great guy. We talk every now and then but not that much. We just talk every single day Here's why for fantasy football is great. I am in several leagues with Thomas including two dynasty leagues or one or two and I'm sure he'll stay in our leagues going forward and we will keep touched through fantasy football It's an amazing part of what we do here But we're gonna miss you more than you could even imagine Thomas. So thanks for everything you've done over the last what five years amazing stuff And that's it I can't even that's it all right too emotional the best Thomas. Yeah, we love you. Oh Appreciate you guys. It's been a fun ride Yeah, that will say good stuff. I mean look at least at least we'll still have him in the chat with Johnny. Yeah All right, see you later Thomas Bob's turn every now and then I hope so that'll be fun All right, I will talk to you all tomorrow with Startership for the NFC.
