Week 7 Winners & Losers: Biggest Takeaways From Every Game! + Early Waiver Wire, Injury Updates & More! (10/25 Fantasy Football Podcast)
1h 15m 45s
Week seven of fantasy football delivered a mix of standout performances and significant downturns. Running backs like Tony Pollard and Judd Kins stood out with multiple touchdowns and high yardage, while Cam Skataboo returned to action despite a hamstring injury, reaffirming his role as a reliable low-end RB2. However, the Panthers struggled, with Bryce Young facing heavy pressure and poor passing efficiency, leading to a complete collapse and strong fantasy losses for wide receivers like Sam LaPorta and Nico Collins. Collins, in particular, faced consistent shutdown coverage and a drop in targets, raising concerns about his long-term viability. Similarly, Justin Jefferson’s performance against the Colts was underwhelming, with limited targets and no big plays, sparking debate over whether he remains a top-tier receiver. On the positive side, rookie wide receivers Omar Cooper and KC Concepcion delivered breakout games, showing high potential for future value. The Bengals’ second-half surge against Baltimore, led by Joe Burrow and a dominant offensive line, highlighted a shift in team strategy and performance. Overall, the week emphasized the impact of defensive schemes, injury management, and offensive execution—key factors in fantasy success. Teams are advised to monitor emerging players, assess injury risks, and adjust strategies based on shifting matchups and performance trends.
>> This is fantasy football today from CBS sports. >> It's time to dominate your fantasy Lee. >> Now you're some combination of Adam Dave Jamie and he. >> Welcome to your week seven recap. It's Sunday night, October 25th. Counting down the days to Halloween. >> I love Halloween week, but before we get to that, let's recap week seven and what we saw, the good, the bad, the hot takes, we have a new segment today, guys. Listen to hot takes. >> Yeah. >> All right. >> I'm glad we found something to fill the extra time we have on Sunday nights. >> It's going to be a quick one. I'm going to give you guys like a five minute maximum for the segment. It's going to be fun, fast paced, good, old, fashion fun. Okay, who are the top five flexes for week seven? Not quarterbacks this time. Tony Pollard's got to be up there. Non quarterbacks Pollard is going to be up there. >> Yeah, one. >> Judd Kins is probably going to be up there, I would think. No, he had two touchdowns, almost 100 yards. >> He's got a flower. >> Dave Flowers is two. Nice heat. >> Yeah, he had a good time. >> I'm tied for two, tied. >> Who could, who could? >> No. >> Who could would be close. He had a pretty good game. >> Mike Bride had a big game. >> Mike Bride is three. Let's keep it going. >> Jammo had two touchdowns. I'm not sure on the other side. >> He had four or five, keep it going. We need one more. >> Oh, did he score Tiggins? >> See, Higgins, oh my gosh. >> But did he score? That was, I know he had a great second half. >> Yeah. >> He didn't score. >> It had six catches, 140 yards in touchdown. So it's power. >> He did score. >> Flowers, Mike Bride, Higgins, Jamies and Williams. Those are five great players from week seven. Who's the biggest winner today? The biggest winner of the day was the biggest loser of last week. And that's fantasy football. Cam Skataboo got his job back. Played fantastic. Maybe pulled up a little lame on his last run, hopefully not. >> He did, he said he felt his hamstring. But he said thankfully we have a buy next week. >> Yes, I think he'll be fine. I think he will be. Listen, it's still a little bit of a three headed backfield. All three of the Giants running backscored in this game. But Cam was the clear lead rusher, doesn't have the passing game role that we would like. But he's back in that low end RB2 mix on a weekly basis. >> That's great. He was not the only running back that got banged up in the game. Tyrone Tracy left in the first half, did not come back in. And the schedule moving forward is not bad for the Giants. It's Philadelphia, Washington, Jacksonville. Okay, I lied, two of those games were pretty bad, Indie, San Francisco, Seattle, Cleveland. >> What are you? This is a bad situation. >> This is not an easy, you know, I looked at the Philadelphia matchup and I went, "Oh, that's not so bad." And then I just kept on reading and I was like, "Oh, I guess I shouldn't have stopped reading after a while." >> Well, listen, Dave Houston's supposed to be a bad matchup too. Now the theory, the theory is that the move to JJ McCarthy opens up the run game and that's why they went to him to begin with. I don't know that Skataboo was much of a winner before the Tracy and her injury. At the time of the injury, they had basically the same amount of touches. So that's just something to keep in mind. But I do think, yeah, he's like, we could have been looking at a situation where we were dropping Cam Skataboo. It's nice to know we don't have to do that. >> It was 56% of the snaps, both their snaps inside the five. That was after the Tracy injury for Skataboo. >> Okay. Dave, biggest loser, same game? We could look at that game and see some big losers. Nico Collins is definitely on the list with two PPR points. That's weird. The Panthers, pretty much across the board are big huge losers, Derek Henry, Sam Laporta. I don't know where he went. I think you can make the case for Nico to be a pretty big loser and now people are going to start questioning just how much of a must start he is with Houston having so many other options and really a step back, I thought, for CJ Stroud against the Giants. >> Bad game for the Texans and what happened to Nico Collins last week, Travis Hunter followed him around the field. What happened this week? Deonte Banks shadowed him in a game where the Giants basically played. I don't know how much they did it, but they played like a boxing one where their defense played zone except Deonte Banks. He played man coverage on Nico Collins for a lot of this game and it was weird. That's not an excuse. You can't be getting shut down two weeks in a row by Travis Hunter and Deonte Banks. 10 targets over his last two games, two points, six fantasy points today. It's a by week and then at the chargers at Cleveland, I guess we got to call him what, a number two receiver going forward? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So I think I asked you last week, hey, Nico Collins was drafted at the two three turn, where are you drafted him now? In a week ago, we all said, yeah, same two three turn. >> Yeah, I think you can talk them at least around now. >> Okay. >> His schedule, you can rate the schedule, Adam, since I'm bad at it tonight. Chargers, Browns, Colts, Ravens, Steelers, I think it's fine, but do we have, what's the deal here? Is it that they have, they're spreading the ball around too much? Is it the match of the last two corner backs he's faced? What's the time? >> I would say if, those are good corners, but those aren't, if those guys are shutting him down, then a lot of guys are going to shut him down. >> All right. Well, we have another loser, and it's an email of the day, this is not the loser, the email is not, he's, I'll determine that. >> Email of the day is from, and he says, I have a friend who will trade me a five pound bag of candy corn for Chase Brown. Should I go for it? >> Is it PPR? Didn't he, he get a little dinged up in this game also? >> I didn't think he was, I think he got twisted up on a tackle, and he was kind of dominating touches at that point, and then that was right before P Ryan scored the touchdown. I mean, it wasn't a good game, but I don't think, I don't think this was quite an even split before that happened. >> No, and the playing time was heavily in Chase Brown's favor, two of three snaps inside the five, you know which snap. He was not on and what happened on that based on the box score. They both played six of ten snaps on third down. I don't think there's going to be a P Ryan take over here, but there's still going to be a lot of P Ryan being annoying, occasionally getting some of those high value touches, certainly is the more physical back. And there really wasn't a lot of evidence of Chase Brown's explosiveness, and I know that the Bengals are trying to like get that out there and find ways to get it moving. The space where that offensive line made improvement is in pass protection in the second half, because Joe Burrow had all day. They need to find something in the run blocking that can help unlock Chase Brown a little bit. >> Jamie, did you think this was a good day or a bad day for Chase Brown? Because on one hand, production was bad, 11 carries 39 yards, but four catches 19 yards. On the other hand, he dominated it as we just said. He dominated touches and snaps and all that stuff, so how do we look at this game for Chase Brown? >> Bad. I mean, look, you don't walk away from a performance from a first or second round pick that was unproductive and say, oh, that was good. So. >> I know. >> It's encouraging that he didn't lose work, but it's not encouraging that he was unproductive. >> Right. >> One more time, Adam. >> Tennessee, Atlanta, that's in Spain, I believe, Pittsburgh, and then Washington. Those are the next four games for the Bengals. >> I mean, look, Tennessee might be an easy matchup, right? They get rid of a good run stopper and then Quinch on Judkins runs all over them. Atlanta, I think they're like a decent run defense. Pittsburgh and Washington are very good run defenses. Matchups shouldn't matter, really, for Chase Brown, but they yet they are. >> I don't think that they're not a good run offense, and so I think it's more that he needs to play in games where the other offense is pushing them, so he gets more catches. >> So in watching the game, it felt as if they were trying to force themselves to run them all in the first half. And then it was just throw the ball a second half. And again, watching games with Pete Periscope, Rand Carthon, some pretty knowledgeable football pages. They should just go a whole game without just running it at all. Just don't even try. >> Yeah, they're right, they think at it. >> All right, well, Joe Burrow had what, four touchdown passes in the second half. And I would love to see the time, I mean, they only had the ball for 25 minutes, they didn't run a lot of plays at the first half, it was a joke, but anyway, those are some of our winners and losers. Sunday, I want to talk to you about Sunday, because we're having a great time with these Sunday morning Q and A's, and we, you know, either depending on whether or not there's a Europe game. It's also our schedule. When there is one, we're live at 8.30 AM until 9.30 AM, and then again, 12.15 to 1. But next week, there is no game in Europe. So it's probably, it's either going to be 11 to 1, or like 11.30 to 1, we'll figure that out. But we'll be back to our normal schedule there. But join us to get your questions and answers on Sunday morning at youtube.com/fantasyfootball. Today, okay, ready for some hot takes from the audience. We've got five minutes on the clock. And your reaction to these hot takes, this one is from Nick Drum. Josh Jacobs owns the Green Bay backfield, and will be a top 12 running back rest of season. Is this by the first half or by it, by cell or just, you know.
yes. Yes. David, you don't think it'll be top 12 rest of season. Uh, it's going to be close. Okay. Uh, he did Josh Jacobs or Chase Brown rest of season. Jacob's. Yeah, Jacob. I think if you're going to say the other guy other than Jacob's, you have to feel pretty confident in the tape because there is a chance that that that he gets suspended. Oh, he's, please remember that everyone with Josh Jacobs. Uh, Ben Myzerah says, oh, it's becoming difficult to start Chase Brown on a weekly basis. We agree with that. Yes. Yeah. I'll probably start in next week. Next week's Tennessee, we said. Yeah. It is from CJ hot take Texans defense sucks. Yes. Yeah. Yes. I don't agree. Sucks is too far, but they don't really matter. Apparently not. Jay, Jay MacArthur, awesome. He really did. Kind of crazy. Yeah. From Jacobs, the dolphins won the Jalen Waddle trade. Yes. Yes. Yes. This was the best game for the Denver offense. And in the game, Jalen Waddle only had so many targets, didn't have any huge plays and then hurt his shoulder. What do you think it was that the Broncos really figured out this week, Dave? Uh, they were able to run the ball. I think Jamie's right. And sure. And they, the Cardinals couldn't get pressure on both. I mean, they got like a 60 yard rush touchdown. Yeah. They were playing man. The man receiving touchdown to RJ Harry. Yeah. Yeah. It was like, it's a bad combination. You know, at bare minimum, they've built some confidence. And that's bone X could use that. By the way, Heath, we started Brock Perty over Malik Willis and Bone X, basically. I mean, we stood, you know, we should have sat shouldered everybody. Jacob Williams. Oh, no, he just read his TM 42 says Cam Ward is the worst bust since Jermarkis Russell. No, there's been worse one since no, since Jermarkis Russell, Josh Rosen, Josh Rosen was pretty. He was accident. But these guys were a number one overall. I would just remind everyone that at this point in Bryce Young's career where Cam Ward is, Bryce Young was on the bench for Andy Dalton. So it's not over yet. But God, it looks bad for Cam Ward. Oh, here's what I get to play the music here. Hot Take from Dark Link. He says, Cole man is taking over in Denver. I don't think that's, I don't think that's a hot take. I don't. I think Cole man will take over in Denver. I will. I would still expect JK Dobbins to be their lead running back in the near future. Yeah. Good luck trying to figure out which one to use. Right. Yeah. You got to wait a little bit for things to shake out. But Sean Payton after the game was ecstatic over how Coleman played and said he wants to get a more touches. Caleb says, Blake Korum is better than Kyron Williams. No. No. He's going to look better four weeks out of the year. This might have been one of them, but he's not at all. Bill Van Sickle says, Malik neighbors is a top three receiver rest of season. You buying that yet Adam? No. Top three? No. You buying top five yet? Maybe. He's up there. But I still, what I said last week, Drake London over neighbors said they, you know, London's got better this week. Barely. Yeah. I would still take JSN. I would still take Puka. I would still take a Monroe Saint Brown. Jamar Chase. I would still take March a city lamp. No. I would. I would still take Zae Flowers obviously. I would. And Drake Clinton from sky. Derek Henry is officially washed. Oh, dude. I think anytime he stops and starts his feet, you could, I don't know what you could do. Count of five. Yeah. They took on another injury on top of it. That was problematic. But it all adds up to where if he's not getting a lane to run through, he's he's done again. It comes. Buffalo. And Lamar, hopefully, hopefully. Yeah. Hopefully that. Lamar is playing next week. I think so too. But I, Lamar is playing DJ. More is playing next week. Rebecca Bukas playing next week. I looked at it. Wow. I looked at it. I'd look went through his game log twice. I think this is the first time in Derek Henry's career that he has gone six straight games in the same season without averaging more than 4.3 yards per carry in any one of those games. So he's not washed. But what is it when like he's no longer one of the best rushers in the NFL, I don't think he's still like he lost a step. Maybe he lost a step and a half. He still has a lot of steps on most of the running backs. Would you rather have Derek Henry or Jalen Warren rest of season? How's it going? Still Henry, last week goes here. Probably. The way the Warren played today, it's an easy call for Warren. I just don't know if he's going to play like that every time. That's why we have. And I know that Derek Henry at some point, Lamar back, line gets figured out. So I don't know that they can figure that line out. All right. A few more here from Dan. Pot tape for just 75 cents a day. You can help the best male podcast. By the way, you were five minutes and 45. Okay. Fine. I'm just going to read the last two then from nap time takes. They flowers are so good you shouldn't be able to shave from now until the draft. And from Jesse Dan Campbell is a good tactical coach. Really bothers me that the Lions won. They did not deserve to win with that nonsense. This is the worst game I've ever seen. Those teams and the refs were atrocious. The rep for awful. The red zone decisions were terrible. Jamira Gibbs taken in the was terrible. And almost like destroying the leg in the process. Yeah. Not throwing the same report on national tight end day. Yeah. No good. Okay. We're going to take a break. We'll give you the news and notes. Not a ton of them, thankfully. And we'll do some more winners and losers. We'll go through the early waiver wire, the goal line work, the almost touchdowns and recapping each game when we come back. The core short from Viori is one pair I keep reaching for. Just wanted to note that the Titans, I was watching Red Zone happen to catch this little snippet. The broadcaster said the Titans have been in no huddle a lot today. And it seemed to be helping Cam Ward. They ran 18 no-huddle snaps. That was more than anyone at that point in the day. That was before the four o'clock game started. But maybe they're trying something a little bit different here. Certainly helped that Tony Pollard went crazy today. Running back, both giants, two giants running back, Scott Hurt, Tyrone Tracy, Jr., and Cam Skataboo. Tracy's apparently didn't seem to be too serious. Skataboo was the last play of the second or last play of the game, his last play. And he said he felt something in his hamstring. He said, thankfully, we have a buy next week. Jamir Gibbs, Dan Campbell said he should be fine. Woody Marks left, but came back. Aaron Jones left. Remember, he's been playing with the sprained knee ligament, MCL PCL MCL. So he did hurt his knee. We got to keep an eye on that one for Aaron Jones. Boy, I am nervous about just even previewing the Detroit Minnesota game. I don't even know that's going to be a lot of tough calls in that game. Jalen Wright left in the fourth quarter for the dolphins and CJ Donaldson left early for the Saints. They go into their buy and hopefully get Travis H. And back in week nine. Why, I mean, I said it on the Sunday morning show, but it just unbelievable to stat line there were Tyler Schuck led the team with seven rushing yards, followed by Kendrick Miller's six rushing yards, followed by Alvin Cameras, five rushing yards. Jalen Waddle, it was either an arm or a shoulder. It was late in the game. Carnell Tate left at return. Jalen Noel hurt his toe, and he's got a buy in week eight. RJ White said it was tough though. Yeah, I read that it was surf toe two and sent it to the host of the show. You sent me that? Yes. Sorry. In a walking boot. I saw the walking boot thing. I didn't see the turf toe thing. Okay. You didn't even say the walking boot thing. Well, I mean, guys were walking boots like literally all the time. They sleep in them. If I had a player that was in a walking boot after the game, that's information I would want to know Adam. If Adam had a walking boot, it would have a hole in it. What they all do. They have a hole at the front. It was bad news. By the way, my socks came today and I got the wrong size. So I got to go a little bigger. And on the offensive line, Carolina writes out how he would sleep then. Taylor Moton. He was got to go through his garbage and find the old socks. I tell her, Moton, for the panthers, he broke his leg and he's going to miss a lot of time. Venga, Yawane, the rookie offensive guard for the Ravens left in the first half. Did you say to her craft? No, he got hurt. He was hurt during the game. I didn't see whether he returned. Oh, I thought I saw him in their late. I'm sorry, but also I he may have returned. I wasn't sure. Kobe Parkinson got very beat up in this. He was in and out all game long parkinson
Yeah, I'm gonna put Tucker craft it. You just had to keep running it back out there to make sure they didn't have to throw a tie. There would be I'll look up craft's last snap. Okay, and I'll leave it at that. Let's go to the early waiver wire here. Oh, Dude, he played 57 of 65 snaps. All right, Tucker craft. He came through with an early touchdown Jamie anyone come to mind for early waiver wire? Geno Smith and Michael Penex Smith gets the jets this week and Penex or the Raider The Gino Smith does not get the jets this week gets the Raiders. Excuse me and Penex not an easy matchup against Tampa Bay, but he's played well now back-to-back games. Okay, Tampa Bay is that I think they might be a terrible matchup. Yeah, but he's he he's playing well. So yeah, just someone to consider Well next if you want but they get the chiefs that's not gonna be easy I think there's several running back situations to look at you mentioned the Giants injuries so it could be Devon Singletary if you want to just get ahead of the by-week. It could be Tyrone Tracy if this is gonna be a long-term injury for Scataboo with the hamstring. It might not be any of them. So just keep that in mind I Think if you looked at it and you saw what Transpired for part of the game you better make sure K-Lan Black is rostered because Christian McCaffrey Sat for a little bit and we know what that could mean if there's anything that lingers there He seems to be fine, but still just in terms of handcuffing it Zone of a night just in case there's still a lingering absence for Jeremiah Love he's the better of the two running backs there for the Cardinal should have had to touch down drop one in the end zone John Coleman obviously should be rostered in many more leagues than he is right now Wide receiver is I'm sorry KC Yeah, Concepcion for sure is probably gonna leave the column another rookie for the third straight week Trying to think that anybody else receiver wise. That's widely available Caleb Douglas. Yeah Douglas is going Three catches right not a crazy amount of targets no, but two touchdowns and just you see the explosion Yeah, okay, okay again some more time Yeah, we'll have for you. I'll have a little preview on Monday and then the full show twice on Tuesday once on Our podcast and then one on CBS Sports Network. Okay, let's get into the risers and followers brought to you by whoop the wearable device that gives you Personalize insights into your sleep recovery your strain and how daily choices may be influencing your overall well-being Heath they and Jamie they always have their whoops on and if you want to learn more head to join dot whoop dot com Slash FFT whoops spelled WH OOP join dot whoop dot com slash FFT well, let's talk about those rookie wide receivers Jamie Omar Cooper junior five targets. He caught all of them for a hundred and fifteen yards in a touchdown He was started in 46% of leagues. That's almost about the amount of leagues that KC Concepcion is rostered in he's 50% rostered He had eight for a hundred and twenty nine on ten targets. I think you said something Earlier in the week, maybe the people before I don't know you say like it feels like a big game is coming and here it was for KC Concepcion So Cooper and Concepcion. Yeah, great to see for both these guys. I think for Cooper Just you know the fact that and I Mitchell was active and Garrett Wilson was coming off a bad game We may have a Garrett Wilson problem, you know, if if this is yeah, you know, these I look at the geno Smith problem. I'm up to it. Garrett Wilson has a problem with Geno Smith Yeah, you know, I don't know how much of that was not enough targets or if that was just a particular play they're they're they're got into a heated argument on the sideline So we'll see what happens moving forward. Maybe there's a squeak wheel game coming Again good matchup coming up against the Raiders, but for Cooper, you know, I don't think you have to worry about and I Mitchell to the point of Not considering him in in the starting conversation, especially with four teams on a buy and still the injuries at the position for Concepcion, you know, the targets had been there for him We just had not seen him have this breakout game and here it comes and I think the thing that's encouraging if you're just looking at the entire Picture of the of the Browns offense. It was still nine targets for Denzel Boston and I think eight targets for Harold Fanon. I got that confused But a plus for all three of them and so the the fact that they're all potentially going to be involved They're not all going to produce Boston was you know the disappointment today But if they're all getting chances, you like that for these guys So I think concepts you know now moves into the starting conversation and three or three really because again the targets had been there for him Aside from the game we left the concussion. It's been basically six plus so Just you know continuing to see strong Performances from these guys as they as we always say they get better usually as the season goes on And so we're hitting that point in the season where you like to see the jumping off point for maybe some more just consistent numbers Season high and past attempts for to Sean Watson, but not by much it's 36 He's been at 33 a couple of times. So it wasn't like a crazy past volume game But 36 was still a lot for him. All right. Let's go to Dave's winners. Tony Pollard man first game with more than 13.6 PPR fantasy points started in only 49% of leagues Quinchon Judkins started in 63% of leagues and he he was great today And so it's Pollard and Judkins for you just over under total yards two touchdowns And he only played this is Judkins and he only played 52% of the snaps So there could be some opportunity for him to carve out a little bit of a larger role for the five and two Cleveland Browns. This is a team that's finding ways to win games stay in games. They're not getting blown out It's the Steelers the Saints and the Texans in their next three games I think as far as RB twos go he's basically locked in and Maybe that changes if he has a stinker against Pittsburgh I think it might take two games of him having a stinker for me to back off and say, okay Maybe we rushed into Quinchon Judkins with Pollard I I respect the Cleveland Browns defense and I really like what I've been seeing from Brown or from Pollard rather Leading up to this game and then obviously he goes out there This is a game where the Titans are competitive and they've been competitive in a bunch of their games this year And now here he is with 25 carries gets he also had three targets three catches for 26 yards. So over a hundred and almost a hundred and fifty no 155 total yards. Thank you. I math is good. I didn't need heats up and now important more importantly than that if Tennessee keeps losing They might trade Pollard Pollard could end up in a situation where he's on a contending team And he's going to regularly get in the neighborhood of 20 touches and he'll be good because he showed us today that he can be good So if I've got Pollard on my team. I'm pretty happy long term Um, can I claim Judkins for Wednesday's so high, please? Can I can I claim Pollard? Yeah, no, that doesn't mean they're not winners It's just oh great. They don't totally but I think the one thing like they made a great case during a week about Judkins as a starting fantasy running back But I correct me for wrong the case you made was because of his involvement in the passing game right and I I Push back on a little bit just because Dylan Samson was gonna be active and I thought that was where the Samson can get used And that's what we saw today. So I think the fact that Judkins did what he did mostly with his rushing We just haven't seen that and as you alluded to Adam briefly is that the Titans had a change in their defensive line And so a good run defense went to a very mediocre one at least based on what we saw today And so I think we can see a situation where Judkins going up against the Steelers next week. It's not gonna be this I think we're giving Elliott a little too much credit Who oh, Tennessee the defensive lineman for Tennessee if I could just say I didn't I didn't disagree with anything you said about these two guys man. How could you not you know look you've got a lot right Sure if you can turn them into a better starter that you know you're gonna Feel great about using then of course by all means no the only thing I did just disagree with you on and in fact their values went up today Yeah, the only thing I did disagree with you on was that Cleveland actually has a pretty bad run defense Just in terms of one metric, which is yards per carry allowed to running backs going into this game It was Panthers Raiders Saints Giants Browns as the five worst as they're one Achilles heel. They're not good against the run So was it based on is that a consistent thing every game because I know that they got busted up I I think Pittsburgh a few weeks ago, you know look we can go back But I don't know if it's every game, but that's been their weakness defensively But and look Pollard Kovatt another touchdown. He lost right. He lost one. Taji Spears didn't play today So that that helped probably the receptions made me a little bit he had three receptions, but Pollard like Pollard No, they they use Michael Carter in the Taijay role tart. He's gets a ton of work. It's just like You know and unfortunately like I have powered in a league and I'm annoyed because I haven't started them all year and Right, I'm never gonna know this performance again And now I'm two point on the Browns like at least 4.8 yards per carry allowed to running backs in five of seven games So this was obviously his best game, but all three of his like quality games Have been when he's been two receptions or more. So it's it's almost like and I know he runs routes on on Very he runs routes and doesn't get opportunities. So he's been used, but it's just Very clear like when they use him in all facets of the game. He's much more productive. Yeah, all right And let's get to heat swimmers cam scataboo who we talked about and Bucky Irving 92% started 24 carries a hundred six yards two touchdowns one catch or four yards only 11 pass attempts for Baker may field Yeah, I think that was kind of the thing I wanted to say first off and we said it earlier in the week like he's been awesome as a Russia Bucky has and I still think with Baker back We're probably going to see five catches a lot more often than we see one catch This is just a game where Baker didn't have to throw it because the panthers were a complete disaster Um, but I think I think Bucky's a top 12 running back. I'd rather have them than chase Brown. I'd rather have them than Josh Jacobs cool All right, and losers he thought yeah, we got to talk about the panthers. I can't believe we're going to have our habits all
about them. Bryce Young, 14 of 27, 163 yards, one touchdown, two picks for 7.4 fantasy points, they got blown out in this game against Bucky Irving's Buccaneers, Tampa Bay 43, Carolina 13. So you have Bryce Young as a loser and Sam LaPorta, who had won catch for 18 yards on two targets on national tight ends day. Yeah, it's the Bryce thing's weird because it was obvious today that the pressure really bothered him and a lot more of the pressure is turned into sacks than they have throughout the year. It wasn't the offensive line injury because he was getting sacked and pressured and harassed from the very get go in this game. He has a 44 percent pressure rate, which is well above average, and he's getting pressured in like 2.5 seconds, which is faster than average. But every like half of the games, he still has a high pressure rate. It doesn't really seem to bother him, and he has a good game. So it's clear that if a defense can get in his head early and get to him early, it's having an impact on how he plays, which isn't that abnormal for a maybe slightly above average quarterback. You have to feel nervous. The LaPorta thing, like I saw some people joking about, this is what he gets for talking about his contract. And I hope that the Lions are not petty enough to do that. But what I worry about is they had the buy week, and they come out of the buy week, and it was everything they could do to get the ball to James and Williams. And I think it was about the buy week last year when Dan Campbell inserted himself in the conversation and wanted to get the ball to James and Williams more. So you're still probably, you're going to start San LaPorta again next week. He's still a top six tight end for the year after this complete dud. But I'm at least a little bit nervous that they're making another move towards more James and Williams. Yeah. Oh, it's a good point. It is exactly. I think, yeah, you're right. The buy week, each of the last two seasons now, but we'll see if this continues. Okay. Right away, love, absolutely love. He's trying to reverse most of this by sending San LaPorta as a loser after the first quarter. Yeah. I will neither confirm nor deny that was my intention. Just to put it out there, LaPorta played all but two snaps in the game. So that makes it even more sus. I do think that it's a little bit of a different situation this year compared to last year. Lions are really unhappy with their play calling going to the buy. Campbell took over after that. I think they like what they're doing with Drew Petsing. And Drew Petsing knew kind of a lot of the schematics that he was going up against because he worked with Johnathan Ganon for years in Arizona and Ganon's the defensive coordinator now for the Packers. And so maybe he just figured that this was a better game for J-Moda to get targets and to get utilized rather than LaPorta. It'd be hard. I don't know if there's a stat for this to find somewhere because LaPorta did run routes on a lot of plays. Yeah. But he was blocking beforehand on a very high percentage of those. And Ganon and the Packers the last few weeks have just been sending a bunch of guys to the line of scrimmage and getting after the quarterback. And it kind of seemed like the plan was, you know, if we use LaPorta to chip, they can't cover both the Monroe and Jamison for long enough. And with these guys all of the line of scrimmage. It's a good thing. Unfortunately, if that was the plan, it's quite likely to be the planning against Minnesota also. Just something to keep in mind also. The Packers are top five and few as fancy points allowed to the position. And this is who they've shut down so far this season. It was Kyle Pits in the first game with Pentix. We've seen what that looked like since then. Lovelin in week five. So that was no Caleb. And then last week, Jake Ferguson for what that's worth. So they've done a really good job on 10 and so far the season. Okay. Also, I want to share a quote from the Carolina games from Yaya Diabi. He had three sacks for the books today, three of their five. And he said, it's just that we know this Carolina offense so well. They know us and we know them. So we just came with a game plan and attacked. We just got after Bryce and tried to take away his first read and just be aggressive. It's pretty interesting. Kind of candid quote there. All right. Losers from Dave kind of talked about him. Garrett Wilson with his four PPR points. The only thing I'll add to what we've already said is look at his schedule from week 14 on. It's Denver. And then after that Arizona, that's a good one. New England and Minnesota, Minnesota and the fantasy championship and Christian Gonzalez to just shut him down last week in the right finals. So this is you almost want to wait for Garrett Wilson to have a good game and then try and flip him for whatever you can. And you might get the good game next week. It's not a terrible matchup for the Jets next week. So I think let me ask you this. Who is more concerned about because they have basically the same thing going on right now. Nico Collins or Garrett Wilson. Garrett Wilson. Yep. Why? Because I think the threats to his treasure chest of targets is legit. The receivers that they have briefs all coming back again, discussed earlier in the show. I was just going to say we have a longer track record of Nico being elite than we do Garrett Wilson. Yep. And I'm not ready to say that CJ Strouds turned back into a pumpkin just because he didn't have a great game. This week nine targets in two games for Garrett Wilson. It's kind of crap all of though. Not feeling near as smart about my CJ Stroud Bryce young super flex strategy. One week, one week. Yeah. So far. I think it's the same. It's a great question for Nico and Wilson because you're seeing other players around them develop. And so you can make the case obviously CJ Strouds a more competent quarterback than Geno Smith. But at the same time, Geno Smith is probably going to throw a few more passes. Most games than CJ Strouds. So there might be a few more opportunities. They're probably going to be chasing points more often than not. So that's a lead to the Jets throwing a little bit more. So I think it's pros and cons for both. But they're both in a little bit of a bad situation right now. It's one of the reasons I gave you Nico as a loser for this week is that, you know, tanked out plays. Marvin Harrison's there. You know, maybe the jail and all toe injury is going to be a benefit to them, but they're going to their bias. We'll see what happens. But the part of the reason why we've always loved Nico Collins has been him and maybe something else. You know, now there's, well, there is something else. And so we'll see how much that matters. But I would imagine Marvin Harrison can get more comfortable. Tanked out is going to get more comfortable and healthier. And so it just may not be Nico dominating targets. It's going to be those games. But, you know, we've now seen it back to back weeks with just Marvin Harrison. And, you know, they're using Hutchinson here and their Dalton Schultz has been, you know, a factor clearly. And it's just the upside is not there for Nico right now. I would add one key difference between the two is that the Texans still can't run the ball. And so as long as that's the case, you don't have to worry about them having games where oh, they're just going to run down. But everybody is a bad run defense. And that will be the end of that. Again, the counter that would be as bad as the Texans defense has looked, that's a much better defense than the debts. And the debts are going to be a more shootout situation. So I think we got more target opportunities for Garrett Wilson when things are right for him. All right, fellas. We're going to take a break and get to Jamie's losers. One was Nico Collins, and we discussed earlier. And the other is the Vikings, horrible performance offensively for them with the Colts in town. And they do get the win. They go to six and oh, but wasn't pretty. And what does it mean for Justin Jefferson? We'll be right back on fantasy football today. Jamie, you want to talk about the Minnesota Vikings as a loser this week? Yeah. I mean, look, give the Colts credit. Their defense played, I think, better than at least I expected. But, you know, coming off the by-week, mostly it's the passing in because, look, Jordan Mason is going to do these type, he's going to have these type of games. He's not going to catch, not going to be involved in a passing game. We'll see what happens there in Jones, but they'll find somebody else I think to share touches with them where it's clay borne or DJ dollars or whoever. Mason is what he is. He's, to me, a definition of a traffic. You're going to have Kyler Murray. The positive is 39 rushing yards. So it's now back to back games with, you know, basically he's averaging 40 yards per game on the ground. That's awesome. His career average coming into the season was 36. So you, you, you like that at least, you know, it, it's a little bit of a safe floor. It's just what we saw from the, the passing game here against the defense that had been pretty bad at stopping passing games. No sauce gardener on the field. I was hoping to see not necessarily like a 350 yard game from Kyler Murray, but you know, maybe 250. We get 150 and it's bad for everybody but Hawkinson and Hawkinson only benefits because he scored the touchdown. So I'm hopeful going into next week as they play Detroit. Most teams have had success against Detroit. Green Bay not so much this week, but if we have to see Kyler get these guys involved, can they be successful? So it, it's almost to the point where, I should say to the point, it's coming off this game with the intent of I'm not going to start Jordan Addison. Hawkinson is going to be in the streaming conversation and Justin Jefferson, I think you just have to treat him as a number two, high end number two receiver. We can list a bunch of guys. I'm sure that we, we would all for comfortable starting over to person right now, but the one good game that he's had with Kyler, it was when nobody else was there. Yeah, but it's not like the other guys did a lot today. It's just that Kyler was terrible. I'm being in the front. Exactly. 150 yards. Hawkinson had five targets, but Addison only had three. So it was at seven targets on 24 pass attempts. That's a very good, that's a pretty good target. Cheers not great. Oh, no, it's a great target. What the hell am I talking about? But yeah, this is I think a, you know, a concern that everybody had about Justin Jefferson. He's like, Kyler Murray runs a lot. So he had only five carries with 39 yards and then he only threw 24 passes. So he had one big run, Kyler. Yeah, 35 yard run of his 39. I don't know. I mean, I feel like Jefferson's still a top 12 receiver. Can we name 12 guys we'd rather have than Jefferson? Yes.
Yeah. I'd be willing to try. I mean, we named like eight before with the Mollink neighbors, I was like, that's where that's where it gets difficult after that. JSN Puka, Chase Lam, St. Brown neighbors, Flowers, Olave. Yeah. London. London. It's nine. This is where it gets rough. And you got the Packers, guys. You got Luther Burton. Yep. Yep. Nope. No, I'm not taking Luther Burton over Justin Jefferson. Jamie. I'm taking the Packer, guys. You will make the bet. You can name the terms. Oh boy. No. I mean, I get a haircut for a month. It's heterobic, Bill. And like, it's going to look like the caveman. No, I'm on top of that. For three months. One good game from Justin Jefferson next week against the Detroit Lions, and everybody's going to be just fine with it. Yeah. Again, that's why I was on the fence. Like he's, he's in the top 12 conversations though, but it's, it, it, it's not encouraging. Yeah. Right. It's a conversation and right now it doesn't look that way. Also, yes. Somebody asked if, I don't, you really think Jordan Mason is a trap back? Yeah. I was going to just, I'm not going to push back hard on it, but especially of Aaron Jones is out. Like that's who's going to be working near the goal line. He's not going to catch passes though. That's fine. That just means he's not going to be in a bunch of passing downs. That doesn't mean he's a trap back. Right. He's going to win. He's not, I don't want to say to her and say that I love Jordan Mason and you should go and trade for him, but I think he'll get his fair share of short yardage touchdowns. I think he's going to be awesome if Aaron Jones who's been playing with the knee injury since week two and re aggravated it. It seems that it's a re-aggravation, but regardless he has a knee injury. If he's hurt, I think Jordan Mason is going to be great. He was very good last year. He averaged a shy of 13 PPR points per game in the games that Jones missed. He's got a score. Yeah, I probably. He's got a score. That's fair. Yeah. He's going to be, he's going to hover around RB20 for the time that Jones misses if he's up. Yeah. You're going to want to have a team. Oh, thank you. Woo. Didn't really see a ton of you know, super interesting goal line stuff. It was disappointing that some IJP Ryan got the one yard touchdown run. It doesn't mean he's the goal line back. You're going to see like Jordan Mason was in and goal the goal, but they weren't at the goal line today. There was some Sean Tucker, but a lot of Bucky Irving near the goal line, K long black got a goal line carry and he got stuff that I'd say that they had your chance, but then McCaffrey got hurt, came back in and and he had a long touchdown run, K long black. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I don't know. Nothing really changed. Kendrick Kendrick Miller for the time being until Travis H and his back is the clear goal line guy. And I don't know what's the deal is going to be when H and does come back. A lot of almost touchdowns today, Jermior Gibbs, I'm not going to really give Jermior Gibbs the almost touchdown thing because they were letting him score. So I think they kind of cancel each other out. He didn't deserve the touchdown is what I'm saying. It's probably like very close to my least favorite non injury part of football is what is what which part the sliding inside like I know the math works, but it's just like one of those things where analytics makes the game less fun, but he screwed it up though because they had a first down, if he just goes two more yards, he gets a first down. He got the first down. No, he got it. He got it eventually. Oh, the second time. Yeah, yeah. No, he got the first down when he slid the second time. Twice they try to let. I don't know. I don't know. Basically letting him go, he stopped short. He stopped short. That's my move. Stop short. There was such an incredible sequence toward the, I think it was the end of the first half of the Saints game where like Camara almost caught a touchdown and then shocked, ran, tried to run for one and he fumble that a bounce and then shocked, didn't get in on a toge push and then Kendra Miller fumble that the one, but he was ruled down and then shocked the retouch. It passed the Devon Valley. It was crazy. All right. Anyway, speaking of that game, which I actually thought was a good game until the second half was pretty crappy, but Pittsburgh 16, New Orleans 10, Jamie, in a good game. Jamie. This was awful. That's what everybody said. The terrible game. It was not even a top five game this week. The first half was good. What are you talking about? What's, uh, what are you, you, you said that that, uh, Jerry Bernard was going to be good. I think probably we all did. What happened here with the Pittsburgh passing game, he that's part of the reason it wasn't a good game. Nobody was, like, Jalen Warren was awesome. Yeah. Everything else sucked. We had two touchdowns in the game. Two. That's good. I liked it. Devon Valey and Darnell Washington better than one. Yeah. At least, at least Devon Valey was good. Now there's going to three good day for Chris Boswell. Well, it was until the end, even he got screwed because they had that penalty that took away a few goal at the end. They just need to get me, um, yeah, I, uh, I don't know any major takeaways from this game. I'm just going to throw that to you guys. I would say that if I don't know if there's good reason to hold many of these Saints players through the buy, the running backs obviously make some sense to hold on to them. But Travis H&N could come back. We don't know for sure. Oh, Lava, obviously, you're going to hold. He's a stud. But Valey, even with the touchdown and the good game, Shuck with a good stat line, it's, it's almost like the inverse of last week where his, his stats were kind of walkie and he didn't play well last week, but the stats ended up being great. This week, he didn't, I don't think he particularly played great in his yardage was great and he only missed on eight throws. You could let him go to. I think you could either pick him back up in a week if you wanted to, or just find another quarter back. Do you think Jordan Tyson is going to make Tyler Schuck more of a must start if he ever comes back? Yeah, but we don't know when that's going to happen. I mean, we all got excited because Jordan Tyson was on their flight to France and was out there with them. And I don't even know if he practiced. I don't think he did. Okay. No windows are being opened. Yeah. I'm just, I'm, we're waiting. I'm happy to have him stashed. You're not going to drop Jeremy Bernard though, right? We'll give him another week. For sure. Yeah. All right. And Jaylon Warren. I'm also tired of watching DK Meckhaff run down the sideline and then like jump in vain for a pass. It's just not catchable. That's not what happened on his, on his deep reception, but I've seen it so many times this year where they're, they're trying to nail down the fade and I don't know if they're going to necessarily get it nailed down to like week 15. All right. And yeah, that's, that'll do it for that game, although there was a really cool quote about linebacker Peyton Wilson and his interception interceptor Tyler Schuck in the red zone was a huge game and he said, quote, that's honestly just a credit to our coaches and what we do every day in practice. I've rep that play no lie more than 20 times now. Just gambling a little bit and undercutting it. So that was really, Roger said he, he pulled that off in practice this week against him. That's the Roger's, yeah. Yeah. That'll played 46% of the snaps. I think that's notice, that's worth noticing too. All right. Cleveland. 27, Tennessee. 24. This was a good game. Yeah. That was a fun game. Yeah. I think if you have car and L. Tate, be excited. Keep starting him. Is there any thoughts to maybe case the conception of being better than Denzel Boston rest of season? Who would you rather have? Still Boston buzz close. Yeah. Coin flip. Maybe. No one before I make a call. Yeah. Boston plays more. That's, that's for sure. He's out there pretty much every snap. Fanon, Boston, Boston had a very bad game. Yeah. Pretty sure that first interception was the only interception to Boston throw two. Anyway, the first one was the broadcast was saying it was Boston's fault. He ran a pretty sloppy route and ran behind the defender and then he had a drop on the very next drive. Okay. And Fanon, I think, is just going to drive people crazy here. We talked about Pollard. I think we're, and Jamie, give me a final thought on Harold Fanon, Jr., six catches, 91 yards on nine targets. After two straight games with I think fewer than two fantasy points. Yes. He was under two. Yeah. Yeah, you're not going to start him against Pittsburgh. We'll see what happens after that game, but I think he's just going to be in that 10 to 15 range most weeks, probably where we'll rank him. And if you need him and he's playing well, you know, this is who we lose next week, we lose. Giants, Texans, Niners, and so Kittle unlikely, yeah. If he's available on waivers or he's on your bench, then there's nobody else available. Right. Yeah. All right. Speaking of the Giants and the Texans, Giants win 27-21 in overtime and JJ McCarthy played well, even though the stats weren't good, but had four different Giants score rushing touchdown, which was weird, including James Winston. We talked about the back field here. Neighbors looks great. Any concerns? Oh, I'll give you a stat here. Crap. I sent it to Dave. Let me see if I can find it. It's about, I say it likely. And JJ McCarthy in summary is likely since McCarthy took over, likely he's got something like a 17% target share and I think it's even lower. Yeah. Malachi fields was what? Round 22, 23%. I don't remember the fields one. I know that he had five targets today. Here it is. It's a 15.9% target share for likely and a 22.7% target share for fields and that wasn't all today. That sends him McCarthy has come in.
Dave, any long-term concerns about likely? - Maybe a touch just because if this is gonna be McCarthy's tendency to throw down field and to give his receivers a chance to make plays, then that obviously hurts Isaiah likely. Again, I think I'd really prefer to double check the film and make sure that that's what it is before we go with it. But it makes fields and if it does come down to it being McCarthy just has eyes to hit to the sideline and where these receivers are going 10 plus yards down field. And then he had some amazing throws in this game. Then by all means, Malachi fields will be somebody that we could end up adding off of waivers not this week 'cause they're on by, but the week after just to see what happens. - Yeah. - The likely got dinged up as well, right? He finished the game, but he was hurt in the game. - Right, but the ding happened late in the game. - Yeah, late, but it happened, yeah. - He's a very good sell high candidate because he's going into a buy weeks together, a place in this week. And he's what went into the week is tied in two, tied in three. - I did one overall, two per game. - Okay, so somebody might have interest in that if you're concerned. - Not he's turned out my trade. - I did. It was what a barn burner of a trade that was. - You know what that was? - Those guys combined to score four fantasy points this week. - Yeah, the porta unlikely is bad. Yeah, and I, you know, I gave that stat about Woody Marks and it haunted me all week. But four times last year, it's 16 to 19 carries and you failed to score nine fantasy points. And now you can make it one time this year, disappointing. Cincinnati first time the Giants held a running back under 12 pb always. - Yeah. - It just took them missing like three starters from week one. - I know, it's crazy. - Yeah. - Cincinnati 30, really bad game for the Texans. Like they just didn't play well. Cincinnati 35, Baltimore 13. - Speaking of halves, this game was a tale of two halves. The Bengals looked like a total mess in the first half. And then apparently Dramar Chase yelled at everybody in the locker room and they came out and scored 35 points on Baltimore. And it's 35 unanswered. It's just an amazing smackdown of a half by the Cincinnati Bengals with T Higgins at zero catches at halftime and finishing with 7, 6, 148 and the touchdown. Just awesome performance by Burrow. He said after the game, he gave the credit to his offensive line. It's deserved. That line did a great job protecting for him. And they didn't really, they threw a good amount. I don't have the second half numbers. I can pull him up, but he's just awesome. He continues to mess with the Ravens and Baltimore desperately needs to get Tyler Huntley off the field. They, other than the great played is A Flowers where he just speeds away on a short throw and just turns into a big yak play for a touchdown. Like there really wasn't a lot to feel good about Tyler even though he had almost 300 yards. Like if you had the completion of his career? If it was the 48 yards longest. If you had to guarantee like for your life that Zay Flowers was not going to catch a pass on a given play, how many defenders would you feel like you needed to put on him? Oh, just whatever. I don't know. Except of those routes today. And it wasn't like the, yes, the one where he caught the screen and just ran real fast. That was cool, but like the one over the middle where he came back to get the ball between two defenders like, oh, yeah, he's really great. He's awesome. He's like, he's like Ecklin Doyle's good too. He's like a worse version of Malachi Tony. You know what I mean? I don't know about a worse version of Malachi. Yeah, very, very similar. We don't have to really, I mean, look, we talked a lot about Chase Brown. You know who the bangles are, although I, and you know what the Ravens are, right? But and Henry, we already discussed earlier. We're hoping Lamar Jackson gets him going and also Buffalo next week. But Micah Sikki has a touchdown in four straight games and all about one game this year. He's 50% roster in one target. We can't, we can't go in it because Sikki, right? It's too lucky. Nope. And non-PPR, he might be a good starting option. Buy a week tie then. All right. At best. Hmm, next game. Atlanta 29 San Francisco 20. By coming at a great time for the San Francisco 49ers. Brandon Cooks was a dud. Christian Kirk was started in 17% of leagues. Didn't play much, didn't get a target. So we know what the nineers are right now. I guess I'm good. He was almost good. Yeah, you're right. You know, three catches, 56 yards and had a touchdown reversed. Six targets. What's that? Does that call? No. Well, he got his feet in. He got his feet in, but his elbow hit the grid. He went to the ground on his side. And his elbow hit the ground in the Balkan loose. But two feet and one elbow should be a catch. Not the elbow was out of balance. I was joking. Oh, well, that was the second one of those. He had one like three plays before that. Now, 18 points per game is good for most players, but for Bijon, it isn't. And he didn't get there today. It's three straight games where he has failed to score 18 PPR fantasy points, and he had 15.8, 7.3. And then today, somewhere in the 17s, I think, for Bijon. Jamie, do we have concerns about Bijon Robinson? Are you okay? It's light, but not that you're ever considering benching him. I think if you're trying to trade him away, you're trading him at a terrible time. If there's a Bijon manager that's frustrated, and we'll take a package for him of some less significant players, you should try to explore that. But look, he's still getting work. He's still going to be very good rest of way. You know, I don't have any looks, but good and bit concerns that are going to make me change my opinion of him. - There isn't a human on the planet that would say, oh, this is the end of Bijon Robinson. - Well, that's what I said. I said, yeah, Jamie, is this the end of Bijon Robinson? I forgot I said that. No, I'm just saying he was the number two player in fantasy. What are we looking at here? We're looking at the number two player. - We're looking at a guy that everybody's starting every week. Let's talk about somebody else. - We're talking about trade value here. Is he a top five player? Bijon Robinson, it's not going to change much. Everybody still loves him and thinks he's awesome. He's not Jim your Gibbs, okay. - I would guess that not every Bijon manager loves him right now. - He was better than Gibbs. - He was, I think he was a little bit better. Gibbs had five catches also. It was close. Oh, Gibbs had the fumble. So yeah, no, Bijon was definitely better. I would, he had a three game. Bijon had a three game stretch last year. Weeks eight through 10, that were considerably worse than this three game stretch. - Yeah. - And if history is any indication, man, you're in first some good stuff because he basically won fantasy leagues after that. - Is there a worry about Christian McCaffrey because he had an injury today and he played four total snaps in the second and third quarters combined? - Well, I mean, he came back and he's got the bi-week. It was a thigh injury, you know, I don't know. What do you think? - I'm not thinking. - I think he's fine. I think he'll be fine too. But if you're gonna make people wonder about whether or not they should trade a superstar running back with unbelievable upside McCaffrey's the one you should talk about in that Bijon. - I think that is so unfair what you're saying to me right now. I think it was absolutely appropriate of me to bring up the last three games for Bijon Robinson. - What are the numbers in those last three games again? - They were 7.5 fantasy points, 15.8, 7.3 and today was I think somewhere around 17.5. - Right, so his best game in his last three was today. Everybody is gonna be satisfied with that from Bijon Robinson. - Yes, the 7.1, no one's gonna be satisfied about that. - Of course, five with 17 points from Bijon Robinson. - And you've got very high standards, sir. - If three gets around. - I think that's, let's say, I think you're okay with that from Bijon Robinson. I don't think you're gonna say, oh, he stinks. - No, I didn't. - I think we spent way too much time. - I agree. - I think Dave Richard. Okay, let's move on. - Oh, just wait 'til next week. - Tip of Bay 43, Carolina 13, a blood bath here. We talked about Bucky. There was a, you know, I asked Dave this morning, should I start Chris Goblin or Marvin Harrison Jr. And he was so emphatic about, that it should be Marvin Harrison Jr. And I didn't pay any attention to him. And there was a point in this game where Chris Goblin had a touchdown called back in a legal shift or a legal fashion. And then moments later, Marvin Harrison, I think caught a touchdown. I was like, I hate Dave Richard. - The correct answer was literally anybody else because they were both terrible, but Godwin at least did have that. Well, I don't think it's great that he had a touchdown that was taken away from him, but at least you had that going for you, so. - Wait, he had four of targets. - Yeah, that's five of 11 targets. Yeah, great. - That's great. - Almost 50% target. - Great, you know what? You still got 6.7 PPR points. - Okay, I'm gonna finish. - You almost had as many targets as PPR points. - That'll be amazing for his metrics. - We're not gonna say we're completely unconcerned because this is not the lions, this is the panthers after all, but we're pretty much gonna give them a pass and we're gonna start the big four next week. And for Chris Godwin, if the Buka misses another game, the fact that he had almost, - Jamie already said he was back next week. - Oh, okay, well, if Jamie happens to be wrong. No, we could consider him against the Falcons. Is that fair? We good with that summary? We're considering Chris Godwin against the Falcons. - That's the number three receiver. - Yes, I think you love names. - Oh my God, you're so personal today. What is your problem? - What's your problem? - Well, I love names. - You're making statements that are a little difficult to justify. - He had a four to ten PPR points this year. - He had a 45% target share. He hasn't played as the first game without a match.
a book. I had a 45% target share and I can't rank them in the top 36 next week. No, because you don't do rankings. Well, that's true. All right, Minnesota 16 and Indianapolis 10. Drop her whole Josh Downs and Kenan Allen. Hold Allen, drop down. You can drop kick them both squarely into the Sun. Okay. I personally don't care at all about what happens against Minnesota. But so like Kenan Allen, you know, he's been 9/9 and 11 targets the previous three games. What was his target share? Not good. He only have three targets on 20. Oh, on 22 pass attempts. Horrible game. I think I said 115 yards or something for Daniel Jones and he went under. All right, Jordan Addison, drop hold. Drop. It's Detroit next week. I'll probably hold. Jordan Addison or Chris Godwin? Booc is out. I'd rather have a Godwin. I would too. But we don't know if that's going to be the case. You'd rather have Chris Godwin. Okay. And yet what's wrong with me for you kidding me? I said if a book is out. That's what I said. That is also what I said. That was the whole point of my thing. I can't help it. That you are the number one fan of Chris Godwin. I'm not. There's not a lot of you left. I'm not. I'm just looking for some. I'm like, my am twenty eight. You're twenty five. You're thrilled with Godwin 6.7 PPR points, but you're ticked off at B. John Robinson getting 17 PPR. I'm thrilled with Chris. League Willis had a great fantasy. I'm 30 fantasy points. Ran the ball. Well, he was awesome. He now has his full receiving core. Is Molyke Willis somebody who might get into the streaming conversation again? I think so. Why are you changing the subject? I think we should compare Molyke Willis to Josh Allen since they're the same. Just like B. John Robinson and Chris Godwin are the same. That's what I think. You're the one creating topics for the show that are difficult to defend. If you think that it's, if you think that it's. And if you think Chris Godwin's going to get a 45% target share in a game again this year, we can bet on that. I don't think he will, but if he's going to lead the team in targets next week, and there's no ameka Buka, then I think he's probably the number three discussion. And I bet you, you know what? I bet your bottom dollar. You rank up in the top 36. Well, if you're going to do that, then you know he's going to be exactly at 37. All right. Who are you? Are you more excited about Olly Gordon going forward or freaked out about Breast Hall going forward? Oh, now that's a good question. Thank you. Not I guess more excited about Olly Gordon. He's a starter. Yeah. Wait, I messed up with Olly Gordon. I really thought that that was going to be like a time share backfield that wasn't going to score a lot of points because the offense was really terrible to start the year. And Olly Gordon is helping make this offense really, really good. And he's kind of started to bring it up. The receiving core is healthy for Miami. The offensive line isn't bad for Miami. Olly Gordon has been playing great. I think we, I think he's a winner. He's somebody that fancy managers can look and say, okay, I'm going to start him as a number two running back. We got that. I mean, he and and he did great against Minnesota a few weeks ago. Yeah. Would you rather Valley Gordon or Tony Pollard? The only reason why I would say Pollard is in the event that he gets traded, but that seems like something we shouldn't expect or count on. So I'll say Olly. Jamie Heath. I probably go Olly Gordon. If I had a concern about Olly Gordon, it's that they're about to play a bunch of teams that score a lot of points. New England, Detroit, not the Colts, then the Bills. And what happens? He's not, he doesn't really, he runs a lot of routes, but he doesn't, you have a lot of involvement in the passing games. What happens if they fall behind? I wonder, I mean, I guess they did against Cincinnati and he still had 18 carries, 88 yards in a touchdown, but we're not getting a lot of catches, but that could change. I mean, he had five catches in the two games before the Cincinnati game. So all right. And then, yeah, my, the only one who thinks presawls in a little bit of trouble, I feel like I am. I feel like we've talked about this for about a week and a half. And I think Braille and Allen's going to have a bigger role than he did before. Breesal got hurt and Breesal is going to handle most of the passing work and be the NRB2 and Braille and Allen will be attached down the pen and flex. I think we may get a coaching change soon, so who knows if that's going to determine the difference in philosophy. All right, we spoke about the Jets receivers and the Dolphins receivers. Unfortunately, none of them had a lot of targets. Greg Dolsich had a big game, five catches for 86 yards on five targets. That's two straight cans of five targets for Greg Dolsich Dolphins. And just remember when the Jets play the Dolphins against Mason Taylor. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Mason Taylor, at least I got something, right? He is the number one tight end. It's not, I don't know. It's not a Kenyan city. You can cut him. Denver 30 Arizona 16. All right. We discussed the Broncos running backs. Dobbins got the goal line touchdown, but it was a three-headed monster here. And on the other side of the ball, another bad game heath for, I mean, not terrible, but not good for Michael Wilson. Four catches for 55 yards. And we do get Dallas next week, but then it's Seattle Rams chiefs. What are we thinking about Michael Wilson at this point? I think he's going to fluctuate between being a wide receiver three and a flex depending on the matchup and how many good wide receivers are on a bite. Agreed. Kendra Bunch-Dropville. Braille and Allen or Jonah Coleman in rest of season from the chat. That's a good one. It is. You kind of want to say Braille and until you know for sure, Breeze is coming. I have a good fantasy etiquette situation. I made a tradeoff for her last week to a team that was very wide receiver Needy and I had a lot of wide receivers and I had no running backs. So I trade. I offered Keenan Allen for Braille and Allen and didn't get the trade accepted until the report that Breeze always going to play. I forgot that I sent the tradeoffer and then I went, oh, I should probably rescind that. I went and looked and it was accepted. What was I'm sorry? What was your offer? I offered Keenan Allen for Braille and Allen. Okay. Like this team was never playing Braille and loaded or running back even if he was going to start this week. And I wasn't going to play Keenan Allen. So I thought it could help each other out. And then the breeze hall report comes out and I see, okay, the trade was accepted. I was like, oh, that's a little shady that they waited until that moment to see whatever my fault for not paying attention to it also. And then that worked out obviously my favorite thing. I think that's okay. Jamie, you're okay by me. I know about Dave, we're okay. Jamie, hey, Adam, Jamie said that Kendrick Bourne has dropped over the next week, they play the Cowboys. You just think he's dropped over Jamie. Jay said that Bourne has dropped over the next week, they play the Cowboys. Well, he called to Jay, but other than that, he shortened your name and Bourne's. Yeah, I mean, look, if you want to, if you need a receiver, sure. Okay. Yeah, we didn't expect them to do well against Denver. And Detroit 20 green base 17. But two games he hasn't done well. Who Kendrick Bourne? Yeah, he was bad last week too. Well, yeah, but he had eight targets each of the previous two games. It just was such a shame. They traded Marvin Harrison and went into this horrible, horrible schedule of Rams, Broncos, Cowboys, Seahawks, Rams, Chiefs. It's just a brutal stretch. Detroit 20 green base 17. What the hell happened in Jordan love? It seemed to me like the lions were just really defended the deep ball very well in this game. I think it was more that his past catchers, he throws a very droppable ball, very droppable ball. Like it was just drops all over the place. Matthew Golden really didn't take advantage of the opportunity today. Josh Jacobs played awesome, but also dropped a touchdown. It was a terrible game, but listen, we have a terrible game where you guys got guys dropping balls all over the place and you score 21 fantasy points. We'll take it. That's two weeks in a row. Last week they dropped three touchdowns. I mean, it's not it's three seasons in a row. Yeah. He has by far the most drop passes in the NFL. And they were different guys in the past. He throws a droppable ball. I love him. He throws a very droppable ball. That's really funny. I don't know that there's much here. What is your confidence level in Tucker craft? Because I know he caught the touchdown, but it was the best matchup in fantasy. He had six targets in this game on 45 pass attempts. So it really wasn't that great of a game. What's your confidence level Dave in Tucker craft? Still startable. Still the top 10 fantasy tie then. Still an offense that's going to throw a lot. I don't I think it's going to take a specific type of matchup where Green Bay just is going to be able to run the ball a lot and they can take some pressure off of Jordan love. And I don't think we're there yet. Okay. Carolina stinks against the run. There should be a big game coming for Josh Jacobs. Is that next week? Thursday. Short week. Nice. I don't know. Rams 35. Raiders 21.
- Come on. - Trey Tucker has now had two good games in a row. - Yeah. - It's a miracle. - I tried to find the last time he had back-to-back games with 12 or more fantasy points. I think it was 2024. But yeah, he's had two great games in a row now for Trey Tucker. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little annoyed by the Raiders. They didn't deserve to score this many fantasy points. Cousins in Tucker. Cousins especially. - Yeah. - Little bitter open. - Not a great game. - Your ball prediction on my come true, still. - Oh, man. My ball prediction this morning was the Raiders and the Colts have new quarterbacks next week. - More likely to come true. That one or Andy Reed being forced to step down at the end of the year. - Definitely this one. I also predicted it would be Riley Leonard and not Anthony Richardson for the record. - Yeah, it won't be Anthony. - Okay, do we have any takeaways from this game? Rams and Raiders. - Kyron had a fumble and he didn't play in the next series, but he came back into the game and finished with almost a hundred yards rushing. Not as much receiving as in previous weeks, but this was a blowout win for the Rams who were able to get by with a good run game, a whole lot of Pukanakua and not a whole heck of a lot. That's Davis Allen had a couple of touchdowns that he stole away from Higby and Colby Parkinson. So he was the tight end of choice and then Kirk Cousins just continues to get by on volume and garbage time and that's why he had the numbers that he had and finishes a quality fantasy QB. Genty still is terrible running the ball. The offensive line hasn't, it's better than it was last year, but nominally better. And it's what Genty does in the passing game that makes him a fantasy hero. - I think that's the big story of this game. Jamie, over the last three games, Ash and Genty has 28 carries for, let's see, 49 plus 15, 28 carries for 64 yards and one rushing touchdown all season, but it was last week. You know, he's on pace for 83 catches. Can he keep this going? Can he be this relevant and be this good for fantasy and be this bad at running the football? - I think it depends on who the quarterback is 'cause Mendoza is gonna have some drawing paint. So, you know, we're getting a little lucky here with these Kirk Bordel's efforts that he's given us in the fourth quarter second half of the game. - That's okay, man. - But he's just, he's not a very good runner. It's, you know, we can make the argument, excuse that the offensive line was so bad last year, which is fair 'cause it was, but they improved it this year and it's just, he's just not, I think, taking advantage of some opportunities that are there. We're, Mike Washington did last week in a couple of times this week, not as much, but this is still a good defense. I know they're missing guys, it's still a good defense. You know, Chris Schill is a really good coach and he had guys in place to make plays for the majority of the game and then they just, you know, the turnover, the staff for the intervention too, I'm just like, yeah, he did. - Yeah, so it was the, I think that was the one where they kind of got back in the game a little bit, at least made a little more competitive. I said it in the third quarter, like, why are you playing Puka at this point after, they're up 35, 6, whatever, 28, 6 or something like that? Like, you know, why are you risking his calf? And then they kind of needed to, you know, be a little bit more confident offensively, but I think just looking at Gen T, like, he's getting you fancy production. We talked about this, I think, on Friday show. Like, there are certain players, like, sometimes it's just ugly how it gets it done, but they're getting it done. So 83 catches, you don't want to see him have to rely solely on that, but he is relying on it and it's been productive. - Okay. Well, oh, man, do we do Gen T or, Gen T or Jefferson rest of season? And before you answer, I actually think the Raiders have a dreadful schedule. Next week, they're at the Jets, that's fine. At San Francisco, Seattle, at Denver, at Cleveland, by Chargers Denver in the last two games are Tennessee and at Arizona, week 16 and 17. But that's a pretty bad schedule. - And Minnesota schedule's pretty good. - Is it? - Yeah, I mean, we were talking about it with Kyler for two weeks. - Yeah, upcoming, the next three. - I'll take Gen T. - I will too. - Yeah. It's hard to find running backs, man. It's just a nature thing, yeah. - Yeah, that is Gen T or Jacobs. I think Heath, you said you'd take Jacobs earlier? - I don't think I did. - Sorry. - I'd probably take Jacobs in non-and-half PPR and Gen T in full. - Okay. - What about Gen T versus Godwin? (laughing) - And he left. He left, he bike dropped that. Love it. Oh, bad. All right, that's it for today's stupid show. We will talk to you tomorrow with Beyond the Box score. Summary:
FAQs
The top five flex running backs for Week 7 are Tony Pollard, Judd Kimbrough, Dave Flowers, Mike Williams, and Jamison Williams.
Yes, Cam Skataboo is a viable fantasy option after returning from injury and recording 24 carries for 106 yards and two touchdowns. He was the clear lead rusher for the Giants after Tyrone Tracy’s injury.
The biggest fantasy losers include Nico Collins (only 6 fantasy points after being shut down by corners), Garrett Wilson (4 PPR points), and Sam LaPorta (18 yards on two targets in a poor offensive performance).
Chase Brown had a poor performance with 11 carries for 39 yards and four catches for 19 yards. His lack of production and limited targets raise concerns about his consistency as a fantasy option.
Justin Jefferson is still considered a top-12 receiver, though his performance against the Colts was underwhelming. His role as a high-end number two receiver is more likely than a top-tier option given limited targets and a lack of consistent production.
Yes, both KC Concepcion and Omar Cooper showed strong performances with multiple targets and touchdowns. Concepcion had 8 catches for 129 yards, while Cooper recorded 5 catches for 115 yards and a touchdown, indicating potential as breakout candidates.
