Week 7 Studs & Duds + Andy Freaks Out! - Fantasy Football Podcast for 10/26

The Fantasy Footballers podcast episodes explore the highs and lows of fantasy football through candid discussions on player performance and team strategies. Hosts Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright emphasize the emotional toll of the game and the necessity of perseverance, especially after disappointing weeks. They analyze key performances, such as Tony Pollard’s explosive but inconsistent stats, Caleb Douglas’s promising rookie debut, and K.C. Concepcion Jr.’s breakout moments, while cautioning against over-reliance on any single player. The segment also highlights injuries and offensive struggles across teams, particularly among tight ends and running backs, with players like Chase Brown and Kyler Murray facing skepticism due to inconsistent production. Trade rumors for Jonathan Taylor are discussed, with the hosts believing he’d thrive in a dominant team like Minnesota but noting the high cost of his contract. The hosts stress adaptability, caution in fantasy decisions, and the need to monitor team dynamics and injury trends. The episode concludes with a reminder to stay grounded, keep strong bones, and remain vigilant in selecting players amid volatility in the NFL season.

Welcome to the fantasy footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore and Mike Wright. Welcome in. Okay, I'm going to go off. Not everyone can handle the pressure, dude. No, listen. Not everyone can. They don't got the stuff. Andy's not handling it. He doesn't got the stuff. I have to talk for a second. Doesn't have the stuff. I have the stuff. I don't know. Talk about your weak bones. Go. Welcome into the fantasy footballers. What I want to say is that, number one, we have the best job on planet Earth. I'm thankful for it. I'm thankful for the Foot Clan. We just celebrated 2,000 shows. There is no better job in the world. I want people to understand. I don't take that for granted. Number two, there is just nothing. There is nothing like the feeling when you have a miserable Sunday related to fantasy football and you have to say to yourself, I got to go talk about this tomorrow. I can't forget about fantasy. All you out there. You can go do something different today. You can turn the show off. I bet you. I guarantee you there are people out there that when they have a bad week, they don't want to listen to this show on Monday morning. I get it. But to know that I got to wake up and I got to go put the Monday Pundays in, I don't want to think about fantasy. I got to go do the show and talk about fantasy. I know what the bad ones are going to be, Jay. I can find some players. No, my players are fine. I'm going to get median. I shouldn't even be that pissed. Doesn't got stuff. But I'm telling you, when you freaking. When you freaking face Tony freaking Pollard. The Tony Pollard one is amazing. When you have Goff, Gibbs, and Amon Ra, and you face Jameson, and he gets multiple touchdowns, and they tried to give him a third. They really did. And then Luther Burton has his best game of the year against you, and they all have the best game of the year. Why is Tony Pollard's stats up on the screen? Context. I know he's the number one on the list. It really should be four touchdowns. When I knew I was facing Tony Pollard, I was like, sweet. Yeah. 37 points later, I'm going to lose to another crap team in our league. I don't know. They scored a lot of points. Oh, yeah, they did. Don't worry. I scroll back to every week they played this year. Oh, you know who else they had? They had Bo Nix, who they were able to acquire because you dropped him, and they picked him up and played him against you and beat you with him. But don't worry. I dropped him for Geno Smith, who had a great week, right? He did. Geno was great. But then I traded for Jared Goff instead. Jared Goff was okay. I'm so smart at job. Jared, those bones. You shouldn't want me on this show. I don't deserve to be here. Get this man some milk. 2,000 showers should be it. Do we have milk in the fridge here? Should we get him some calcium? We're warming up a bottle for him right now. It's lonely up there. Yeah. I tried to tell you. It's tough at the top. It's a super duper champ. It's tough. You guys think I got it. Like, oh, Mike's got it all together. It's hard. Shut the hell up. It's hard, man. I'm telling you. I didn't want to do anything. Oh, and to boot, it's just, you know, Mike, I got weak bones. There you go. I got weak bones. Let's react to the weekend in a different way. The trophy will probably shatter you into 1,000 pieces. You don't deserve it. It's so heavy. I've won the trophy many times, Mike. It suited me well. All right? Then get it together. Act like a champ. I know. I know. I'm mad at Tony Ballard. I'm sure he'll be in this. In this segment. Honestly, if you had kept all of this rant towards Tony Ballard, we would have rallied. The best part is I'm looking at the Monday pun day. Shut up. And I don't see any Tony Ballard puns in here. There's none. For the good, because Andy. Well, I put them together. Listen. Unless Brian submitted it, no one else played him. Tony Ballard. No, he was starting. I saw the stats. He was starting in 40% of leagues. Oh, man. 40% of leagues. Fantasy is real. Fantasy is. It impacts you. Jason is playing for next year. He's living a dream. Oh, dude. This is great. He's living a dream right now. I don't remember the last time that it has been so. Because I'm playing for 2027. I've sold my assets. I'm acquiring picks. And it's wonderful. I've got nothing to lose. You better be working. You've strengthened your bones. Oh, I'm. Because I don't want none of this from you. I'm going to milk a protein regimen right now. I'll be fine. All right. We're into Monday pun day. You sent in your reactions to the weekend. Nothing on this show so far has been sophisticated. So we need to get to what we're all about. Sophistication. And let's start it off with Omar Goodness. Yes. How about Tony Goddard? Just adding that one in for you. The Immaculate Concepcion. And Boss Jacobs is back. All aboard the Pollard Express. Choo-choo. I told you there was one in there. I'm going to keep adding them. What about a T. Mendis Higgins? And Hunky Irving? Oh, Emanuel Thrillson. Oh, also played Emanuel Wilson. Sorry. What about this guy? Yay, Emerson Williams. Yeah, and Zay Powers, of course. All right, Andy. This section's for you. The bad of the weekend. Like Bryce Dung. Oh, Sam Laporta Potty's back, everybody. Tyler Higbust. And Jalen Choker. Oh, what are his skid marks? This week was Isaiah Unlikely. Yeah. Chuba Scrubbered. Chuba Scrubbered. I refuse to read this one. No, Mike, it's yours. Yeah, it is yours. Ken Grown Walker. Yeah. How dare you? How about Poop Douglas? Everything he's given you. Okay, I like that. Jacoby Lame. Nico Colonoscopy. That's my favorite. Yeah. I'm trying to let you end on a high note every week. Nico Colonoscopy. Monday, Monday, every Sunday night. Some good ones this week, guys. Appreciate it. You leave. Ken Walker alone. At the Fantasy. I mean, I got. It was a bad game. Part of last night was Ken Walker getting doubled up on by Emmanuel Wilson in my matchup. At the FFBallers on X, if you want to submit them. Let's jump in. Bank on it smartly. Presented by U.S. Bank. All right. We are looking at three players deciding whether their performance is. This week are something you can bank on or not. And of course, we're starting with Tony Pollard. Why not? Tony Pollard. Don't. Does he play? Does he play Andy next week? Let me look. No. Oh, no. You can. You can set the. Stop showing his stats. Just stop. That's part of this segment. Yeah. No, but I. Twenty five carries. One hundred twenty nine rushing. There's three rushing touchdowns. Three receptions should have had more rushing touchdowns. First. The best part of the day for Tony Pollard when I was facing him was that four minutes into the game. The announcer goes, his seventy seven rushing yards are the highest on the season. Four minutes in. Yeah. I just did a quick. I thought the Browns had a defense. I did, too. So Tony Pollard weeks one through six scored a combined. Oh, don't do this. Forty seven point three points. Thirty five yesterday. Yeah. Yeah. I'm aware. First Titans player with touchdowns on the first two drives of a game. He was great. Can you bank on it? Don't bank on. No, you cannot bank on Tony Pollard. This is it was going to win that game. What was our bet? So what was our hundred dollar bet? You definitely did not win that. I definitely did not. I mean, I know I won the Pittsburgh part. Yeah. Well, you did cover the spread. You said it was going to be a blowout. But the other one, the bet was the spread. Right. The other one was you thought that the Pittsburgh game was going to be a blowout. I thought that the Texans would easily cover their ten and a half point spread. They lost the game. Oh, yeah. So we split. Yeah. So no one knows anybody. I like how you just dunked on me on both of them, even though I mean, you said both were going to be absolute blowout. It was 19 to 10. And then they went off size is 19 to 10. Not a sufficient enough win. No. Hey, Jay. I mean, triple the spread. Who won the game for the Giants? The Giants. No, no. The quarterback. Oh, nine, nine, nine, nine, nine looked great. That's Brooklyn. Nine, nine. Nine, nine for the unsophisticated. I've watched the show. Just sounded funny. Caleb Douglas. Nine, nine. Dolphins wide receiver. Two for 70 and two. First game back from the injury. This one is really I think it's really exciting because you have a player who looked so good in camp. The drumbeat was higher than just about anyone in all of, you know, preseason football. The opportunity was there. He comes out week one and looks pretty good. He was like, oh, okay. Week one. He gets seven targets. Five for 94. That's more than pretty good for a rookie. Absolutely. Rookie in his first game after all that drumbeat. And then he gets injured in week two and we haven't seen him since then. Then he comes out and day to pick here. And I know. Yeah. Day to pick. I know, you know, he only had three targets. This wasn't some monster game, but he looked good again. He broke the tackles. He had the 63 yard touchdown run where he stays in. Bounds tightropes. The sideline is it's just exciting to have. I mean, we have no rookies this year. It's like. Like, this year's rookie class is just doo-doo comparatively to what we are used to having at this point in the season. So I'm really excited to get Caleb Douglas back on the field. This is a team that needs weapons, needs, you know, somewhere to go. And, you know, if I'm calling bank on it, I would definitely continue. I would continue to bank on the player. You know, I'm excited for him. I'm not excited for – He's only played two full games, five for 94, two for 70, and two touchdowns. Malik had 30-something fantasy points this week because the Jets' defense sucks apparently. We learned some stuff this week. I mean, there were a few situations where you thought, this is something I could bank on, like playing defenses against Miami. And then Miami came out and had a pretty good performance overall. So it wasn't – so looking at the Miami distribution, I mean, am I seeing this? Right, three targets for Washington, three Douglas, three Bell. I mean, it wasn't like a ton. It wasn't like someone else hogged the target share while Douglas only had the three targets. Yeah, well, it was a very unique situation for the Dolphins this week because they were up. And so that's something that we don't expect to have happen often and hasn't happened yet, that they, you know, were leading a game all the way until the end, therefore not throwing the ball that much. But, yeah, I mean, I think – I think it's pretty exciting. I'd go bank on it for Caleb Douglas. What do you – I'm bank on it. I mean, I'm going to pick him up for sure. So I guess – Mike, play the game. Well, I'm – Stop. I'm trying to think – Stop. You get to say one or the other. On record, don't be a baby. Have some strong bones. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Shirting little baby prince. Bank on it or don't bank on it? Let's get to your pinky. Bank on it or don't bank on it, Mike? We're going to – we'll bank on it. All right. K.C. Concepcion. Got it done. Eight for 129. Same for the Browns wide receiver. Now it came at the expense of Mr. David Boston. Or did I say David? Arizona. I always go back to the old school David Boston. Gearhead? Yes. I love that. Yes, the gearhead. That's all I think about with Boston. Yeah, because he got busted for steroids. Is the promise of David Boston he was going to be the next big thing. And he was. He was humongous. He probably took – There was a reason he was so humongous. He probably took all stuff that's legal now. You know what I mean? And he's in trouble. K.C. Concepcion Jr. for the Browns. He's highly drafted, targeted on 36% of his routes. He had one of these great plays where it was like a little screen, and then he just like hid himself beneath blockers and ran an extra 30 yards down the field. You know, I've been waiting for a game like this from him. The 10 targets was awesome to see. Fannin was more involved again this week. But it's still – it's still Watson. Yeah. So, sadly, I lean – I think Watson can only give us one. I lean on the don't bank on its side for Concepcion, not that you wouldn't want to pick him up or have him on a roster, but would you feel confident putting him right back out there next week? I mean, maybe. Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't necessarily feel confident to make him a starter next week. It's ironic because what we're really talking about with both of these players, Concepcion and Douglas, is relative to expectation, right? Because if I had to put a player in my lineup next week, I would probably rather have Concepcion in my lineup than I would Caleb Douglas. But, you know, whether or not – whether or not you're going to be able to bank on Concepcion being the number one target in this offense, that I am skeptical of. I still think David Boston has shown more so far through the rookie season. You just did it too. Denzel. Son of a gun. You put a mind worm in me. Yes, Denzel Boston. Denzel Boston, I believe. We're at a hot start. Denzel, Denzel, Denzel. Hot start. It's a good show. It's a fun time. Emotions are flying high. I think Denzel Boston will continue to be the primary target. There's a lot of mouths to feed there. I would love to have Concepcion. It's great to see a true breakout. It's funny because I just feel like if you could start Concepcion, Boston, Fanon on any given week. Yeah, I mean, any one of them could break out. Don't you feel like you're kind of rolling the dice? You are a little bit. I mean, Concepcion had, what, ten targets. Boston had eight targets. And ran more routes. Yeah, it just did. Okay, so you still lean that side. I still lean on the Boston side. So I'm not going to bank on him being the number one target. I lean on that it's Watson and there's only enough production for one player per week. So don't bank on it? Yeah, that's where I lean. I just, my psychology is in full tilt. Yeah. Yeah. And it's so sad to see. I'll be fine. I'll be fine. Now, you do realize Travion Henderson next week is going to go nuclear. No, no. He'll get benched. He'll get benched by Papa Josh. Oh, okay. I'm not worried about it. So then whoever he. He can't go nuclear. Or Jordan Mason then. Oh, for sure. Yeah. There you go. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, didn't Aaron Jones get banged up? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Mike is on a full. I love. Mike is on a full campaign to get Jonathan Taylor traded to the Minnesota Vikings. Well, it's kind of. It's curious to me that interest because of how bullish you guys are on the. On Jordan Mason?. infinite talent of Jordan Mason. Well, you're overdoing it. Lots of puns in there for Jordan Mason as well this week. Yeah. Overdoing it, certainly. I mean, the thing is, Jordan Mason's a very good runner on the ground. He's not involved in the passing game, which we've talked about. That's his downside. He'll need touchdowns to really have a great game. The thing was is we think he's going to be their primary runner on the ground, which he was, right? 15 carries, 17 opportunities, 68 yards on the carries, ran four and a half yards per carry. You know, when it comes to fantasy, you're going to need the touchdown or receptions, and he's not a receiving guy. So you're going to want the receptions in this game. But he's. He is their leading runner, running back for an undefeated team. And that's, you know, coming off of the waivers or off of your IR slot is still valuable. Yeah, he's definitely valuable. I agree with that. I think he's very capped, like you said. So you would want. I mean, Jonathan Taylor trade rumors are on fire right now. Yes, they are. Lots of different potential destinations. Seattle's one of them, which is insane. Probably won't happen. I don't think. That would be ridiculous. I don't think that they would do that and then look the fool, so to speak. But Minnesota's on the list. They're on the list. You know, they're a team that's going to win on defense, running the football. Denver's on the list. Denver would be an interesting problem. I don't doubt that Taylor. If you trade for Jonathan Taylor, you're getting all the work. You're better. I mean, there's just no world that I. You might have a worse situation or a worse game plan. Like, maybe you don't run as much as Indy runs or something like that. But you trade for a guy like that. As Mike put it. As Mike put it yesterday. It's like getting Saquon or getting Gibbs or getting. It's a top-tier, number-one talent. And he's got. He comes with his contract that is, you know, a super-expensive, you know, workhorse contract. If you were to trade capital and then have that contract to affect 40% of your running bacterias, it makes no sense. So, yeah, wherever he goes, he'll get the work. I think that, you know, Mike. If he goes. Yes, if he goes. A lot of smoke to the fire. Do you want him to go? Mike does. Here's the question, because the Colts are. Like, they are not good at football. I want him to be traded. It's very personal reasons, because I invested my league of record draft capital for next year into Jonathan Taylor. So, I want him to go to the best possible situation. Him on the Colts is fine. Like, it's still, I think, worth the trade that I made for him. But there's definitely better scenarios out there for him. He's had correlation in his career of being, like, when they're a good team, he's a top-five guy. When they're a bad team. He's more. He can have mid-games. He scored yesterday. Yeah, he is similar to Derrick Henry in the sense that if you look at splits and wins and losses, this is a guy who's going to dominate if they are winning ballgames. Like, you know, last year when the Colts were the number one seed in week eight, he was the number one running back in fantasy. He wasn't top five. He was far and away ahead of Christian McCaffrey, because you can just continue to give him the ball. So, you want to go to a team that's going to win games, and that's why. I think if you go to a team like the Minnesota Vikings with that defense, they're currently undefeated, they're just going to give him the rock. My other thing is, the Vikings, they're my. I want them to win. They're my second team. My family's from Minnesota. Really, you're first now. Yeah, that's. Yeah. Well, when you said, for personal reasons, I legit thought it was because you were a Vikings fan. It's both. Yeah. Because the Vikings. And you love Kyler. The Vikings are. Oh, the undefeated Kyler. You heard his voice break in the middle of the word. The Kyler J.J. McCarthy stuff this year is going to be. A disaster. A delight to watch how it plays out. I mean, the tweets are already out there about blowing it with the, we had a franchise quarterback and now we let him go. The Vikings are an undefeated team. Was Kyle here? Kyle, what are the. I don't know if the markets have moved for Super Bowl favorites. They're the only undefeated team? But they are undefeated. San Francisco's not Kansas City's team. They are undefeated and they are not the favorites to win the Super Bowl. Because we know. That says a lot about the Super Bowl. situation because we haven't seen a single week this year where you feel like their offense right now it goes jonathan taylor on the vikings makes they are so much better yes where are the vikings it goes that's not i'm saying all right here's here's the super bowl odds you gotta go all in order right now niners bills chiefs seahawks rams ravens jaguars good lord bears i don't i don't disagree with one ounce of that either and that's why they have nine yeah they gotta go they're a they're not they're not a fake good team but they're not a super bowl contender they don't have the quarterback to sustain so you have to run your offense three passing touchdowns on the year this you you make your identity jonathan taylor yeah what was kyler kyler yesterday was like 150 and one touchdown he is against a super beat up all right colts we got to take a break we'll come back with some more news all right for tonight's game the eagles already ruled out davante smith with the hamstring don tavian wicks with the ankle and saquon is questionable but expected to play lamar did not play in week seven they claim he is set to return in week eight potentially there's a claims there's a 10 game span i think or a 10 day span i think where they play a couple times and the the thought was hey let's not play in this one which was going quite well in the first half and quite poorly in the second half the bangles i don't know what to think of the ravens in general i don't know what to think about the bangles yeah the bangles were so bad in the first half like joe burrow going into the second half i think had double digit fantasy points he ends up in with a nuclear game and gets benched at the end they sorry but they pull him out of the game because it's done and he had done nothing in the first half this they they got to figure their crap out yeah it's um it's weird all right this this was annoying too we had the lions trying to waste a clock and jameer gives us too fast to slow down so he would have gone in for a touchdown and it tries to slide but tries to stop and spins his ankle they say he should be okay that was annoying to see christian mccaffrey was in and out of the game with a thigh injury should be okay they have a bye this week aaron jones left with a knee injury he's going to have an mri they say it's not significant day-to-day right now and then the giants have their effect of running backs which they very much needed all three of them in this game and then they were all like kumbaya afterwards giving each other hugs but scataboo he felt something in his hamstring on that big 42 yard run um they're reporting he should be okay tyrone tracy left with a hamstring injury and then singletary had the touchdown run they had their bye watching gibbs and camp scataboo it is very clear that no one knows how to slide like the quarterback strain but the running there's tons of quarterbacks who do it horrifically wrong as well who was the one that did the coffin slide this week just slid full lay down i don't remember i mean cam basically did that he just fell onto his back it looked like he hurt himself falling yeah very weird uh jalen waddle chest injury unsurprisingly always injured rashid jahid left early and jalen noel left with a turf toe injury the texans are another entire story you know john mcclain the uh beat writer and yeah the from die hard he also played right same guy yeah john mcclain played john mcclain in the movie now um he just went on a tirade against the texans because he's like the long-term writer just about how bad this offense is about how domico ryan's took over the defense and now it's worse the defense or the it's the worst bust of a defense in nfl history because they were so dominant i'm surprised to hear him say negative things about the offense i mean pretty good most of the year obviously they they weren't great this week but i mean they're two and five i mean they it's not been stroud's fault he's not blaming stroud he's just saying like the offense i mean it's not getting the job done you can't run the football you're not winning any games i mean you're not gonna make the playoffs at two and five and and you just traded for marv who looks like marv again the good news here is that they traded delightful feels good marv ran i believe six routes really it's something like that what uh he did get a touch down um and he also had a marv drop had a marv drop which was uh of course um but nico collins was two for six in a game like this i mean that is unexcusable yeah playing his target so his target share has gone from the high 20s low 30s to under 20 two straight weeks since the acquisition of marvin harrison that is called dumb well the best coaches is that the cardinals have their pick yeah the cardinals do have their pick all right let's talk studs this week's fantasy stud muffins joe burrow improbably the number one quarterback after a disaster of a first half dude it was insane and then drake may bow nicks malik willis and geno smith so hey bow nicks which just takes a 62 yard oh man one of the 62 we had some of the most mickey mouse goofy what happened to the defense but the the ramon we started with remandre stevenson's screen yes how in the freaking world did he score a touchdown at the end of the half and you have uh then there was two in this game you have bow nicks running and just running forever and you never see a defender enter the frame there was a a still frame moment on like the broadcast where you could just see him where it's like he was the only guy on the field it there was no one around for 30 minutes in any direction what are these these dbs are like man i got this guy locked yeah oh so long i've been locking it down for 15 seconds i do not need to turn around and see what's happening behind me that play was the exact same as the remandre one where there was a defender watching bow nicks and turning back to their guy we are not allowed to pass when you're 40 yards down the field this is wild and then rj harvey had a huge screen pass as well but geno was i mean i told you guys i didn't play bow nicks i played geno i played i wanted to play geno and then played him in a couple other leagues bow nicks ends up with the big game because of the the rushing he's still 222 and one through the air so i don't know you know if you're doing a bank on it like that would have been the one that i wanted to talk about is bow nicks it's like do you bank on that against arizona nope no i i don't do that nope kansas city next week venture venture broncos running back studs tony pollard at 35 bucky irving who i had at 23 nice who looked great again quinch and they looked like remember we were saying how much of a must win it was for tampa bay oh they and it was domination their defense we've been talking about it for a couple weeks their defense is really really good and and it's been um kind of overshadowed by the losses where you're just not giving them enough credit because they're not winning games and so you assume it's you know they can't be that good their defense has been shutting just about everybody down and they took it to carolina this was the first time in my life i've ever been in a game where i've been in a game where i've been my entire life that i ever started uh bryce young in any situation you did huh i did and that didn't work no i started him over kyler and and it didn't work and kyler was my option so that's how bad bryce young was but uh i i really do give a lot of credit to the tampa bay buccaneers defense i expect them to be one that we need to start um kind of nerfing our expectations of their opponents yeah yeah and maybe they have a chance in that division maybe that's what we're talking about quinch on judkins 23 fantasy points junkets remondre and mccaffrey rounding out the top five other names we're talking about patriots are another spot i think taylor could go to yeah well like they have a lot of investment in the running back but it's like you don't like your guys go get someone who go get someone who can help you they like they like remondre but yeah i don't know how much i i don't i don't know that i mean they would i'm sure prefer to have someone like jonathan taylor to remondre but they do like remondre um it's worth talking about cam scataboo scataboo went out there with 17 carries um it's it was still a it was still a time share but the clear and obvious yes you were benched for a fumble um from the week prior was unbenched and i mean he was really important for their team help them secure that victory i would consider trading them right now yeah yeah because i think that's a high and maybe the hamstring is going to hurt your trade value but you're going into a buy then you get to go to philadelphia the week after a couple of tough weeks i might consider saving like get somebody past their buy working him into a deal trading on the high because they are going to continue to uh i mean they're rumored too in the taylor talk yeah they are so that might be a consideration jonathan taylor was 18 for 95 and a touchdown against minnesota which is saying something emmanuel wilson got one last shot at this as the sole guy 24 for 101 dunking on my face look look what we could do if we give all the guy all the work what is ashen jenty uh a receiving back man yeah he is he has not been good on the ground i mean two years yeah he's been but yet is a dominant fantasy player he's a he's better this year than last year wide receiver out of the backfield for sure and and he's a very good receiver yeah he's got you know he had a uh you know uh sideline kind of toe tap yes feet in he had the over the shoulder touchdown catch on, you know, more of a bomb. He's a very good receiver. receiving back his receiving pace do you want to know what it is oh i would love to 83 catches for 800 yards and seven touchdowns that's good for a wide receiver but his inefficiency on the ground is wild it seems very likely we're about to get mendoza you're feeling yeah i think we're getting mendoza straight losses yeah i think we're getting mendoza now or in a couple games i don't know how that'll affect it but you've seen it you know you don't get the passing game hopefully you get as much passing work i think they should wait until the bye week you've got a stretch of hard games coming up here you get the jets this week but then it's the san francisco 49ers the seattle seahawks the denver broncos like sometimes teams might go i want to win those games and this might be my chance to try to win them with a different quarterback yeah yeah maybe but also you want to set your future franchise quarterback up for success and not have him start on his back for his first three weeks jacobs was 11 for 36 on the ground but was five for and i touched down through the air it's he has juice they don't well he has don't have it he is much better than the other running backs on the team it's the the seven targets i thought was pretty surprising like the the groundwork this is what i figured what happened is like that offensive line is is garbage jacobs is a better running back than the other guys it was i mean especially on the the touchdown run was like if marshall lloyd takes one of those two hits he goes down right so i mean he is definitely a different player than a different caliber of player than those other guys but are you going to get five for 55 every week no but you're also not going to get 11 for 36 the the lions have a very the lions have a very good rush defense we we expected that coming in he looked so significantly better than the other backs on that team and more importantly right off the street you know he he's got a lot of good defense he's got a lot of good defense he's got a lot of good defense he just went in and was like okay the other guys were still pulling work he was a he was a key call they said they weren't going to overwhelm him with snaps right he was a key cog to this um and and genuinely i think what we saw was very affirming to me of like he's going to work for fantasy for this team because it's a good offense they're going to find ways to score around the goal line it's going to be his and he's so much better than the other backs on this team and honestly he should have been a big part of the reason they won the game if the you know if the packers could make chip shot field goals yeah smack missed two of them oh man i mean one had a hand on it like a partial block but still yeah those are gimmies the difference in the game you gotta get that ball up uh rb12 rb11 rb13 rb7 who am i talking about core rb12 nope rb11 rb13 rb7 last four weeks last four starts is this ollie gordon it's ollie yeah ollie gordon 25 for 103 i mean this is the player that i was i thought this player you got this one i was completely wrong i mean ollie has been awesome and and the fact is it hasn't been like he's doing this without any receiving work basically it's just on the ground touchdowns in four straight it's just been impressive and big it has been broken it's been super impressive because uh it hasn't been easy he is doing it on his own and almost every single game he's been doing it on his own and he has a long broken you know it's like a 20 25 yard run 22 yard run 53 yard run and they're all like they're not the usual where you know travion henderson finally sees a hole and is just burst through and is 53 yards untouched it's like he breaks six tackles along the way and then breaks through and runs he's been so impressive that so like for me i'm playing for 2027 our league of and i i'm starting to sweat just a little like oh no ollie gordon's playing so good that he's going to have to be involved more than what the expectation was coming in this year granted they paid h and a boatload so we'll we'll see but he has just been i mean the eye test ollie gordon and keep in mind this was a player in college who when he came out was he was coming off of a disappointing final collegiate season the year prior he was the best running back in college football um was you know a dominant player so it's like this isn't out of nowhere yeah no i agree top five white outs jsn t higgins zay flowers jameson williams and luther burn oh cool cool cool um i mean you don't need to talk about jason he does it every week no matter what against everybody i think the one thing you can say is right now i believe through seven weeks he's got the highest he's outscoring cooper cup in cooper cups in like best season ever he's just been unstoppable how just how dumb was the first coaching staff that had jsn dumb pretty dumb i mean like yeah they should never work in football you see uh kyle who is the oc that the jsn waldron yeah waldron shane waldron you like to have this player on your team yeah but have you seen how big metcalf is and to be forcing yeah like we're the ball and it's jsn's good for slip screens and bubble screens and just never work in the nfl again yeah go to that's a miss how many players have been like that but the oc doesn't go anywhere and they never have a career that right there are players that certainly have been in that boat and not gotten the chance to break out but uh here we are jameson williams he's back 15 8 or sorry wide receiver 15 13 and 5 in the last three weeks it's it's great but this is just i mean don't get used to it this is the jameson williams experience i i said this on sunday live start him every single week i start him every single week if he has three bad weeks in a row you start him if he has three good weeks in a row you start him you're going to have bad weeks you're going to have good weeks he should be hopefully in your flex for where you drafted him not as your wide receiver too i mean he was pretty unstoppable in the second half of last year and slow start and now he's back two of the three weeks is eight or more targets yeah i mean he is going to be like everything he said is right if you give jmo eight targets he's the best explosive flex you could have yeah luther burden four for 130 didn't score in the second half but you love to see we talked about that game also jameson had a a third touchdown yeah he got pushed out he got pushed out i mean really close almond raw managed to put up a bazillion fantasy points with no touchdowns nine for 153 on 11 targets he's the wide receiver four he's passed his by and he's doing what he always does which is great he'll finish at three he has to uh we've talked about a lot of these players omar cooper and the situation in new york is interesting because garrett wilson is furious upset angry yep um screaming on the sideline and yet omar cooper the rookie seemed to be everywhere in this game had multiple big time plays i mean this is what you wanted after you signed him yeah he looks great on the field i was talking to mike like this is a player reminds me a lot of luther burden where if you get the ball in hands he is such a good athlete so um you know he's able to create on his own the question was kind of like burden does he have a full route tree is he completely ready to be an nfl wide receiver that is the question and and but what you've seen is that he can he can break tackles he can run away from guys it's it's very exciting seemingly come at the expense of uh kenyan sadiq who has appeared the last couple weeks too people are wondering about trading garrett wilson and getting rid of him i i don't think they're gonna do that no not the team oh fantasy players players want to move on i was with you i knew what you were saying i i would not move on i i cannot fathom that omar cooper especially after care wilson's steaming on the sideline i think the problem is just that they do have like part of garrett wilson's special sauce in their disgusting seasons which to be clear the jets are on their way to one part of this special sauce was the complete target chair domination you did not have the capacity to target anybody else right i mean your number one tight end on the week this week is mason taylor oh dude rorson rorson i mean he's still a cat it wasn't a broke attack but it was a lion yeah he was climbing up over the back moss and i mean give me that he was crazy sadiq has had a huge week mason taylor's had a huge week omar cooper has had two huge weeks adnai mitchell has had two huge weeks the point being if they don't they play slow okay they play slow they also they're going to get breeze hall back they have braylon allen their recipe for success is to play slow now you can distribute the ball all over the place i personally am of the i you know squeaky wheel does he come back and get a zillion targets maybe but i think wheel has been getting benched this year i mean i i'm running back i don't think garrett wilson will finish at the tier you want him to finish at i think it will be fine but he will not be the player that i want him to finish at i think you will want him to be that is my opinion okay it's oh moss and taylor that's pretty good that's nice the it but much like nico uh i agree with what you're saying he was the only show in town so he would just it was non-stop double digit targets but three targets in a loss to miami to you throw your number one paid to be the number one like that say you got to go back in the film and go where did everything go wrong and we need to correct this only had six week before yeah um And I'm sure you will go fix it. It's just, you got three road games coming up. Yeah, we'll see. Trey McBride, Mason Taylor was number one. Trey McBride, Colson Loveland, Davis Allen. You know, everybody except for Tyler Higbee got involved in this game. It wasn't just Allen either, right? I mean, you had a Parkinson touchdown too? Yeah, the tight end for the Rams, it worked. It was four of them? Wasn't there another one? Parkinson did not score. Okay, who was the other tight end touchdown? Or was there two for Davis Allen? I thought Davis Allen had two. Oh, okay. That must have been his only targets. Eli Raridon on the list as well. Tucker Kraft, your start of the week, got into the end zone. Although, I've not been thrilled with the target totals for Kraft yet. No. But it was nice to see the touchdown. But then he basically didn't get the ball the rest of the way. Correct. I was not here in the studio. I was busy with my weak bones at home. Yeah. And I thought we had 12 for 12. Yeah. The price picks? Yeah. We did great. We did great. We went 10 for 12, I guess. Because Tucker Kraft didn't get another target or something? I was. Well, he had three. I needed five receptions from him. Yeah. Got three in the first half. We were cruising. Got one more, I think, in the third. And then. Nothing. And then nothing. Well, that game slowed down real bad, too. It was like. I expected a higher scoring game than what we got in that one. And then there was just like the missed field goals, the punts, the turnovers, the goal line turnover by Gibbs. Yeah. And fumbles. Yeah. It was a mess. And I needed 30 second half rushing yards from J.K. Dobbins, which when I made that, I did not realize Coleman was going to be active. But also, I'm like, I was driving home towards the end. And I thought I hit it because I see this huge breakaway run from J.K. Dobbins. And, you know, I was just watching red zone at that moment. And then later, I look and it's like, wait, where did all those yards go? Was it a highlight? It was called back. I didn't realize that. So you two have to, what, face off tonight? Oh, yeah, we do. Oh, OK. That'll be fun to not be involved in that. We'll take a break and get into the duds. Pooped in his big boy pants. Al, did you want to throw the refs in here? Or is that the, you don't like the refs in that game? Dude, it was so bad. Do you remember when they blocked both those kicks by smack? I figured. The refs jumped up and like put the hand up. I figured when I talked about the kicker costing them the game and didn't mention the refs, Jeremy would be fuming over there. I knew it, too. Well, here's one thing I noticed from that game to take the refs out of it, which there were some questionable calls. One in particular I thought was really revolting. A small push down of golf that was like a nothing burger. But you missed two kicks. And this was an example. Like, we get frustrated as fantasy players because we're just like, what's the phrase that you associated with Jordan Love? It was a, get a load of this. Hey, check this out. So part of why they lost this game, for sure, was because of that. It was when the play started breaking down a couple seconds into the play, so many deep shots by Jordan Love and the defense played them well. They were double covered, Matthew Golden down the field. Too many checkouts to Golden. Not enough to Watson. I mean, there were a lot of check this out plays where I felt like, man, why not sustain a drive? Why not throw like a, you know, tuck a craft? No targets almost in the second half. Get some first downs. Like, it wasn't working to go deep on every play. So part of me was frustrated with that because I just wanted to see these teams go back and forth, and it seemed like they were like, okay, we're going to run ball with Jacobs and then throw deep twice and then punt it. I think the final three plays where all they had to do was either, you know, score or make a field goal was, if I remember it right, they dialed up three plays to Jacobs. And they gained a total of five yards. Yeah, that's, that's what I'm saying. We're not watching it on, you know, from the sideline. Just want to throw it to Tucker craft. Yeah. Yeah. And well, and they throw it to save you on a bunch, you know, save you on was getting targets, but all right. Duds Brock Purdy finally got an L 27 for 42 picks. Kind of gross ones. My homes was terrible Baker. They, they barely use the quarterback position in this game. The amount of rushing. Whoa. What did you know? He had 11 pass attempts. I didn't realize that Baker Mayfield had 64 total yards. If you watch the game, they won 43, 13 Bucky or well, the defense scored a bunch. Bucky Irving had like 25 carries and didn't play for the second half. Oh, you know, gain. Well, and tuck Tucker at a breakaway run game. Well, got carries. I don't, what's the total rushing attempts for the team? I'll try and find that. Can you, can you check that out? Because I think it was in the fifties. I'm 50. I'm all right. I got, I got Bucky down for 24 game. Well at 14 and Tucker at seven is what I'm seeing. So 24, 21, 45 attempts. If they didn't give it to somebody else. I mean, like I said, they didn't need to do anything. It was working on every play to run the football. Uh, Bryce young, you were bad. Yes. Real bad. Um, running back duds, the big boys, Derek Henry, Ken Walker. Don't worry about those. They'll be fine. Agreed. I, I, I, although they walkers finally playing top half rush defenses, which will be something to pay attention to Denver next week. Yeah. I, I was, I was just so shocked with how well Seattle shut down. Not, not just Walker. I mean, shutting down Walker was the key to shutting down the chiefs, but I mean, they just made that game so boring because they, the chiefs could not do anything. And I, I'm, I'm just surprised with what we've seen out of Walker. That he couldn't get anything going. And I mean, are we played it? Derek Henry desperately needs Lamar back. Yeah. Yeah. I, those guys will be okay. This guy, do you want the panic alarm? Chase Brown? Yeah, I do. I mean, 11 for 39 on the ground. He has red zone opportunities to Samaj AP, right? Samaj AP Ryan had the one goal line carry, but the, we had, so we, the last time we saw the bangles, Chase Brown had seeded tons of work and opportunities to Samaj AP Ryan, who was good. And then they went on their bi-week and it was, Oh, what are we going to see? Snap 75%. Yeah. 70. Like everything went back to Chase Brown. Their offense was completely broken for a half. And then the second half was just the T Higgins show. So I'm not in a, I'm, I'm not excited. Don't get me wrong. This is not a, I'm a, I'm full caping shielding Chase Brown. From how bad it's been, but I'm saying P Ryan is not the problem. It didn't take over. It is very helpful. Cause we, we talked about this last 20 routes for Brown, six for P Ryan. Like this is, you don't need to worry about five targets to zero 11 rushing attempts to four and 75% of snaps to 22% of snaps. The two weeks ago, the last time we saw them, it was almost 50, 50 across the board. So that part is really good. Makes you feel better about Chase Brown. Um, the, the reason I said, pull the alarm is just because gall darn it. We haven't seen him look remotely special. Yeah. There, there's so many plays where, you know, it's like, it's gall darn it. Yeah. Because I'm really frustrated. I'm watching. I want to say where, where is the Chase Brown of the last couple of years? And I'm starting to get scared from a dynasty value standpoint, because if he doesn't get it together in the next few weeks and show, he's the guy he's not going to be who they put, a ton of money into and, and, and, and, you know, invest and say, this is our running back of the future. And he needs that. He, he is, he's situational. Mike said it during, uh, watching games yesterday, Chase Brown goes as the Bengals go. Yes, he does. He, he is. If the Bengals are great, Chase Brown will be great. And the Bengals haven't really offensively been great. Um, but we, so the snap wise, I'm, I'm less concerned, but I just, I hope, I hope that we find out he was dealing with some injury and he's getting over it because he is not looked special. Well, yeah, I don't like P Ryan getting the goal line work when, like you said, the other stuff is not coming together yet. Dobbins. Chase Brown has one touchdown on the year. Yeah. Like he's a running back 25, I think. Yeah. Currently. And you know, drafted much higher, but terrible game for Chuba. I think you can throw that one away. Cause that game was like over before it started. JK Dobbins. You can't throw away because you have no, the return of Jonah Coleman. Coleman's going to take over. He looked so he's good. He's much better. He's their best back. And he can actually like where Dobbins, they don't feel comfortable throwing him the ball. Harvey, you don't feel comfortable with him running the ball. It was like Coleman can do everything. All right. We need to jump into running a wide receivers here. Nico Collins, two for six Garrett Wilson, two for 26, Justin Jefferson, four for 44. Who are you more concerned about with a more? I'm not concerned about Nico. I would say, say I'm saying Garrett or Justin Jefferson. Oh, um, Garrett. Oh, man. I, it's really tough. Can we get Carson Wentz back? No, no, you think you will. Cause you're winning. Yeah, but you were winning with Carson Wentz. Um, you're, you think they're going to put Carson Wentz? No, but I think it would be a better office if they did. I mean, Carson Wentz was also horrible at times. I mean, I think he's better for Jeff. He's a Winston esque option. He, he goes out there and is better. for Jefferson the way that Winston would be, but your team loses. Because he just breaks. At Detroit next week, I think that's going to be a very telling moment for Minnesota if they have to make some moves or not. Yeah. A.J. Brown, we talked about that one already, and then you had some disappointing duos, Tett McMillan and Jalen Coker. The Panthers game, you just need to throw it out. I mean, I think the Bucs came to Carolina, beat the tarnation out of them for a quarter, and then the game was just lost, mentally lost. D.K. Metcalf and Jeremy. Yeah. Christian Watson and Matthew Golden. Tight ends, LaPorta, Likely, Juwan Johnson, Higby, and Kelsey all struggled. Yeah, Likely was. LaPorta was another one of the squeaky wheels. Oh, yeah, that's right. That's what I'm saying. If you chirped up this year to the media about getting the ball, it has been the opposite. If you didn't see the – because Kyron Williams of the Rams, he got upset last week when he was being asked about what went wrong, and he's like, don't ask me. I wasn't getting the ball. Well, the Rams rewarded that with the entire first drive went to Corum. Yeah, they basically benched him for the first drive. That being said, then they gave him the big money, and he was great. But I'm just saying, this is – Of these guys, the LaPorta, Likely – LaPorta. LaPorta. LaPorta. Likely, Jawan Johnson. Lives in Florida. Tyler Higbee. That's what I was hearing. Were you? Yeah. I'm going to move to LaPorta. Where the old people live. Jawan Johnson has – It's me, Adam Thielen. Has put up a – I live in LaPorta. A stretch of bad games now where it's become – I mean, that's three weeks in a row where he went from the first month of the season being one of the most reliable tight ends out there to – I mean, he had – Here's his last – Just don't look at this. This is his last three games yardage. 16 yards, zero yards, seven yards. Absolute, you know, kick you in the sack type of numbers. And now he goes to bye. So the question is, should you just move on? Should you just cut him, not have to hold on to him? Yeah, I think so. I would not worry – I'm curious if it's like the – It has to do with the offensive line. Maybe they're bringing him in. How bad it is of like they just – They can't do the stuff that they want to do, which they want. They're like the best, worst team in football. Right. Like, I feel like I give the Saints on some levels more credit than I do the Vikings on the – Because their offense is something I enjoy watching. Yeah. With no running game, no protection. No. Tyler Shuck played – I thought he played well. I thought he played as well as he could given his circumstances. Yeah, I mean, it was like – But now bye week, and then the impending return – Probable return of Jordan Tyson. They only scored one – They said one touchdown in the game, and it was a drive where they tried to throw that touchdown away three times, scored on fourth down, and then never got another touchdown. It was just – The offensive line is a major problem for sustained drives. You can make a play where we're like, man, that's a great check play. Fix it. But, all right, we got waivers tomorrow, guys. I'll be in a great mood. And then Thursday night, preseason. Preview, mailbag, second half sleepers on Wednesday, starts of the week on Thursday. And you guys, you got a score to settle with this whole prize pick shame week. Just one catch. Let me put it this way. If Jason loses again, I know what he's going to look like on Friday. Okay. Let's put it that way. All right, that'll do it for today's episode. So thank you for tuning in and indulging us. Good luck on Monday Night Football. We'll see if we can talk.
