I'm Jack Weiss-Peace Thomas, and on this season of the Black Lits podcast, we're outside asking why? They don't want a whole bunch of little elevators, smock 'em access and whartin' with the Kings on their own. And when you look at a lot of different cultures, feel like we need to know where you came from. And considering this is Black Reading Month, the only real question is, "What are you reading next?" Listen to Black Lit from the Black Effect Podcast Network on our iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. People have no idea how tough it is, Jesse. How tough this job is, and you may think you know what I'm talking about. No, no, no, no. The problems you think we have are not problems at all. Our problem lately has been Savannah State infiltrating the live chat with Southern Miss Football propaganda. You never know what issues are gonna crop up. Fortunately, I have it on good authorities. She is not watching the show live tonight. But you are. Thank you so much, Tuesday, October 13th. You have our Lord 2000, 26, jam packed, high atop a pleasant Downtown Nashville, Tennessee, and clear throat live as live can be. Tell it to your friends in the live chat. Several big predictions on the show tonight. By the way, live chat, does anyone think that Brigham Young can beat Notre Dame? Mitch does, but he's not in the live chat. So do you think that Brigham Young can beat Notre Dame? Do you think Tennessee can beat Alabama? These sorts of pressing questions we will answer on the show tonight. There's some overreactions in College Football. There's some lies being told in College Football. I'll discuss that. And also I have terrible news. The JP poll is wrong, in my opinion, and in the opinion of Fandall. Big, massive disagreement between myself and Fandall versus the model tonight. It's for mature ears only. It takes a very, very advanced intellect to understand the concept of power ratings, but we will discuss. And also, who's the best team in the country right now? There's a strong Georgia sentiment out there. Is it valid? It's a jam packed Tuesday night show. They're watching us in Jefferson, Georgia, Cleveland, Ohio, Denver, Colorado, Clayton, Indiana, Bradley. Show me that live sub counter on our on our path, on our journey to 600 K subs. We are less than 19,000 away, Jesse. We could do that overnight, no, that'd be a little aggressive. But still, thank you so much if you're already subscribed to the channel. About every 100,000 subs, we start tracking it live on the show, and that's where we are right now. And if you're watching, doesn't cost you a dime to subscribe, it just helps us out. It's more cosmetic than anything, right, Jesse? No, it helps us. It does help us. We appreciate it in advance. I know you're strongly considering if you haven't already. Ohio State and Indiana play this Saturday. It's big noon kickoff. We will be there. I will be on the sideline for this game. This game is proudly presented by Jimmy John's, and it's a delicious matchup. They didn't ask me to say that. They have asked me to remind you barbecue brisket sandwich still available. Jimmy johns.com, Jimmy johns out, but let's be real. This is a delicious matchup. Now in the big 10 championship game, they played in Indiana one, and it's surprised. I don't know if it was a lot of people, but some people. Indiana is on a 22 game winning streak. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the third straight year they play as top five teams. Now question, because this is kind of snuck up on us. Does that make Ohio State Indiana the big 10s premier rivalry right now? By rivalry, I just mean like the premier matchup. I don't mean there's this story history between these two makes you wonder. They snapped a 30 game losing streak to Ohio State last year. Did Indiana. These are the number one and number two teams at Fandall in the big 10 odds. So paper popper stat to get us started here. Ohio State number one team in FBS in scoring in the first quarter. That's courtesy of our friends over at Letterman row, and that leads us to asking about starts because you got to think to yourself, well, what does Ohio State have? Well, they got the best player in college football, right? So it's popular, and it's going to be popular this week to hear people say, you can't let Jeremiah Smith go off. Well, why not? He did last year. I'm looking at a stat line here, Jesse. Correct him if I'm wrong. You had eight catches for 144 in the big 10 title game, right? How many points do they score 10? So yeah, hey, if he goes off for double that, yeah, you probably got issues, but I don't think Jeremiah Smith 158 receiving yards here necessarily correlates to a surefire Ohio State win, although it certainly doesn't hurt him to me. You can't let the Ohio State passing attack go off. You can't let them hit X plays on you left and right. You can't let Devon McEwen go off 245 yards receiving right now on the season for him. Nate Roberts, the tight end is their third leading receiver with 160. Chris Henry's got 151, which just means what Jesse, it means we're waiting for Brandon and his breakout game. That's what we're really waiting on and it could come this Saturday. I haven't given up on Brandon. Jesse has let it be known in that locker room. Jesse's given up on Brandon and his, but I haven't, but we got a long way to go. We do have a long way to go. So if Jeremiah Smith gets his and I assume he will to some extent because I don't really think that there's a responsibly called defense, Brian Haynes can listen to this and clip this all he wants to. I don't think there's a responsibly called defense in America that's going to shut Jeremiah Smith down. And by that, I mean, if you do call a defense that shuts Jeremiah Smith down, it probably came at the expense of 14 other holes being sprung somewhere else. I'm really interested to see Ohio State face this defense of front from Indiana. So right now Indiana, we just saw him in person last week. We're double dip in Indiana. We're basically an Indiana beat writers show now. That's what we are. They are seventh in FBS and sax per game. They are seventh in FBS and run defense. Not shocking. Indiana plays pretty good defense right now. Now, the Ohio State ground game. Good. Would not call it elite thus far, but good. Ohio State's offensive line. Wouldn't call it elite, but would call it pretty good. I think they're getting the right tackle back, Philip Daniels. So there's a lot of good here. Now, the thing about college football that you learn over time is if you're like really, really talented like Ohio State is and your position groups are good, then you're set against nine out of 10 teams you play. Every so often you face a team that matches your good production and your elite personnel with elite personnel of their own. Indiana does that. Now, if Indiana's elite personnel, especially up front defensively, if they're scaling that in correlation with, you know, what their potential is, they can shut you down. And that's the kind of problem that Ohio State run into sometimes. They ran into it against Indiana last year. They ran into it against Miami last year. Not many teams do it to them because not many teams possess that kind of personnel or that level of execution. I want to see if Indiana can do that again. I want to see if Indiana can really, really clamp down on Ohio State's overall rhythm and overall offensive production because they dealt with some of those issues last year. Indiana, in the Indiana game, like I said, the Miami game, you're sitting there watching it and you know the kind of players they have on the field, but you're like, man, you have 10 points on the board. The middle of the third quarter, you know, they got like 13 points on the board. It's fourth quarter. Even to some extent, the Texas game earlier this year was like that, although that's a way, way different dynamic because they got out to an early lead. So, they probably called the game a little bit different. Also, does Indiana find rushing success in this game? Because this is one of those things. Now, if you want to doubt something about Indiana on this stuff right here, they have the number 19 team in the country in rush yards per game, but I just watched Nebraska clamp them down pretty effectively this past Saturday. And I think more so than anything if you watch that game, you understand the explosives to Marsh and to Charlie Becker. Becker, by the way, in this game had six catches for for 126 last year.
were the difference. You presume, slash assume, those may be the difference here, unless their ground game just churns a whole lot better. And it's tough to do against Ohio State. Who knows, maybe Nebraska is just secretly the best run defense in the country. I remain to be seen on that. But I think it really comes down to whether Josh Hoover can flip this number right here that I'm looking at. So Ohio State's defense has not allowed a cat buster pass all year. Their top 10 and explosive passes allowed. And that's the kind of stuff that one Indiana that game last week. You can call it busted coverage. You can call it whatever you want to. I'm just saying it counts. And Ohio State is not immune to making mistakes either. Like their college football players. Can you find that once or twice? And if you do find it once or twice, is that good enough? Do you hold them, you know, down in the teens or 20s? Can you do that? These are two of the very best coaching staffs in America. You could easily make the case they're one and two would not push back on you. The fan dual number on this game right now, as you see on the bottom of the screen, is Ohio State minus three and a half. What does the model have on the game? It thinks it's even tighter than that. The model has Ohio State minus two. And I have said before within the past week, and I will say again, Kurt Zignetti's not going to hurt me anymore. If I'm going to be wrong from here on out until they lose a game, I'm going to be proven wrong by Indiana losing. I will not throw on that clown nose again. I did that once. I don't like that. It didn't feel good. It felt good last weekend to pick Indiana to win. And then they won. I found out what everyone else felt like all of last year. So I'm taking Indiana to win this game outright. And I will adjust my predictions moving forward in accordance with the outcome of this game. Taking a very safe approach, Jesse. Very safe approach. We will be there this Friday afternoon. We will be on campus right there in Bloomington. Obviously the first football game that we've ever attended at Indiana University. But the day before Friday, I welcome all of you to join us. Myself will Compton, Taylor One, Busson and Pate will be live from this is Eastern time, right? Two to three Eastern on the campus right there at Indiana. And we will be live on ESPN then. And we will be live on the sideline, although we can't broadcast that because of rights per pie plural of purpose. But we'll be right there to watch it all go down with you guys Saturday, high noon. Looking forward to that. And by the way, at Pate State Material dot com right now, the T shirt specifically themed for this week is there. The don't tread on Saturday tour is headed to Indiana. We're looking forward to it. I hope that we would get to this game. We're getting to this game. And for one week only, we put out a themed shirt. I don't know that we're going to another Indiana home game this year. And so you could call it a collector's item, Jesse. I would call it a collector's item. Yeah. Also, since we're a few minutes into the show now, you want me to drop a teaser? I'll drop a teaser. Jesse's a vegan, but I know a lot of you are hunters. I'm from the south. I'm from the rural south. Everybody hunts in the south. And even the people who don't hunt pretend they hunt. Translation, they all wear real tree camo to school. We all wore it to school. You could relate to that in rural Pennsylvania, right? Jesse, isn't that what the hallways in Harrisburg high schools look like just camo left and right? Of course they did. You know, I know the folks at real tree, Bill Jordan and the folks at real tree, Harris County, Georgia. So we've always grown up around each other. And I just, I wouldn't be too shocked just in time for hunting season. If you see a little real tree paid state partnership, I wouldn't be surprised at that. That's just some of the stuff I'm hearing. That's all I'm saying. And it wouldn't shock me if you heard more on that during Sunday show. That's all I've heard. Let me know if you've heard anything further. All right. Let's continue. I'm Lacey Mosley, author, actor, standup, comedian, creator and host of scam goddess podcast, the true crime comedy podcast, all about robbery, fraud and those who practice it. Get worse with Kyle Peru is not one of those podcasts. So if you're interested in getting thinner, going to therapy, starting peptide, setting boundaries, taking supplements, making your better getting closer, then I would humbly recommend other podcasts. But if you're interested in blackmail, love, bombing, cloning yourself, or getting revenge, then we've got a little something, something for a dastardly individual like you. Take a listen to some of the incredible advice we've given so far. Fake a back injury. Get the spray tan, up your alcohol consumption. Only women should be allowed to have guns. Kill them. Kill them. Kill them with a gun. Listen, it's already over. I'm all about lying if it's something that really happened. The next time a bear is running at you, you just calmly stop what you're doing. You look the bear in the eye, and you say this isn't you. Do not preserve relationships. You don't need them. You only need one thing, and that's the get worse podcast. Listen to get worse with Kyle Peru on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, everybody, it's me, Debbie C'monBell. This season of my podcast who's with me, I speak with two-time Emmy winner and weirdly one of my best friends, Kevin Avery. Everything up to that point, Bill G was a comic. Us going on the road doing battle mountain in Ely. Yeah, you took me, you were one of the first people who took me on the road. Which is funny, because at the time I was like, I don't know if I like this guy. With rapper, actor, the beat digs. The jump off for me was Hamilton, and it was the most popular thing in a very long time. But it was still for me, it was me and my friends making something dumb. Bruce Lee's daughter and Brandon Lee's sister, Shannon Lee. Listen to who's with me with Debbie C'monBell on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. On big lives, we take a single cultural icon. People like Jane Fonda, George Michael, Richard Pryor. And we pull apart the story behind the image. And we do this by digging through the BBC's fast archive. We're talking iconic moments in broadcast history. I'm not just a boxer, I'm educating, I can talk all week on millions of subjects. And forgotten interviews that change how we see these giants of our culture. Well, if changing the system from the ground up is revolutionary, then I'm revolutionary. We're here for the messy, the brilliant, the human version of our heroes. When I go on stage, I like to dress as slutty as possible, because it makes me dance better for some reason. I'm Emmanuel Jocci. I'm Kai Wright, and this is Big Lives. Listen to Big Lives on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get podcasts. Alabama at Tennessee, 3rd Saturday, in October, 330 Eastern kickoff, ABC, Sean McDonough, Greg McElroy, and The Booth. Good for McElroy, finally calling an Alabama game. Good for him, this is a big opportunity for him. And look, anytime Sean McDonough is in the building, something special is probably about to happen. This game is presented by Factor. Jesse just consumed a factor meal the other day, and it sustained him, and some say it was the best produced show we've ever had. Not me, per se, but some folks did say that. And at the very least, he was nourished. So we appreciate Factor being on board for this game and for the entire season. Does Tennessee have a streak going right now? I need to ask, what are people's opinions of two games? Jesse, would you say two games is a streak? Press, yes or no. Two games, yes, that's a streak. Okay, well, then Tennessee has a winning streak at home versus Alabama. This was what four years ago, this is exclusive I Josh footage of chaos in Nieland Stadium. After that walkoff field goal, tipped field goal at that. I was there. I witnessed all of this. It looks like a scene out of a movie. Maybe even a horror movie if you're Alabama, but a movie nonetheless, I have walked this exact corridor and I still don't know how they got that goal post out of there without tearing down fencing, but they did. So that was four years ago. And then two years ago, they did it again and they stormed the field again. And I don't know if I told the story about Galby's equipment getting trampled. Rest in peace, Galby, he's still alive. I don't even know if I told that story, but it happened. And so now, here we are. Tennessee with a two game according to press winning streak at home over Alabama. Now that's the good news for Tennessee. I don't know if this is a paper popper, but it is a thing that's written on the piece of paper.
And it says here, Kaelin de Bohr is six and O off a loss at Alabama. So that's a streak too, right, Pres? We have multiple streets. Some streak has to die here. What's the attitude from Alabama? They're off a loss. It's a tough loss. Half the folks down there convinced the official screwed them. And if they get a rematch, they'll beat Georgia by double digits. Others are convinced. Georgia's the better team. And actually, it should have been a wider margin of victory. And then there are some people who just haven't come out of hiding yet. So I don't know what their opinions are. But the team can't afford to think like that. And the staff can't afford to think like that. This is a huge rivalry game. What kind of attitude? What kind of effort do we get from them? That's a banged up team. The center position, Ryan Coleman Williams, like that's a banged up football team. Doesn't matter. No one cares because everyone's banged up. You got to go win a game. You're going to find out a lot about the overall DNA of that Alabama team. In other words, you're going to find out if people are right when they say, boy, I watched that Georgia Alabama game. I think those may be the number one and number two teams in the country. Well, I got no doubt about Georgia. We'll find out about Alabama because if they really are that, this game won't be in doubt. But the number on the game's eight and a half right now. So let's dive into it. Not all quarterback competitions are created equal. As Mima always taught me growing up. Pretty prophetic. She must have seen what was coming. So slight lean towards phase on Brandon, making the start in this game. That's my personal opinion. George McIntyre started last week on the road at Arkansas. It sounds like phase on Brandon is sort of being prepared to start this game. We'll see. Josh Hyple not picking up the phone call that I didn't make earlier today. Look, it'll work for him if the ground game works here. Very obviously no matter who starts quarter back to Sean Bishop is the key to this game for Tennessee 6.3 yards per carry. So far this year, Tennessee. Oh, there's another good paper popper. Good job, Jesse Tennessee 41 and 2 when they rush for over 175 yards. They're 9 and 19 when they don't. That is per ESPN stats and info that Jesse found in the pack. So credit to both yes, equal credit 60 40 ESPN. I think that's fair. And Tennessee force a slow start from Alabama. So if you try to, you try and think these kind of games through in your mind, your big fear obviously is Alabama comes in highly pissed off and it's 14 and nothing with 10 minutes to go in the first quarter. And that's like, oh no, they're for real. And then there's the other scenario where it's a slow start for Alabama, but then they pull away late. There's the third scenario where it's 10 to nothing. So Tennessee and Alabama looks like they took a cattle prod to the neck and the hangover effect from the Georgia game is real. You play the game because you don't know which of those is going to unfold. But what I do know is Xavier Gilliam is one of the best defensive players in the league right now for Tennessee. He's got five sacks. That's fourth in the SEC. He's got 22 pressures. That's number one in the SEC. And I probably am looking at a backup center, possibly starting for Alabama. And if not, you've got a very shaky injury situation at center. So that's something to pay close attention to. If you're talking about a quarterback and Keel and Russell who's been sacked the second most times of any quarterback in this league and you may be a little shaky up the middle, something to keep an eye on Tennessee leads FBS with 25 sacks. Is that right, Jesse? 25 sacks. Number one in the country, Jim Knowles. That is Jim Knowles' secondary look. That's the question because if that comes into play here without Ryan Williams, mind you for Alabama. If that Alabama wide receiver room really is as deep and as versatile slash versatile as we think it is, then you'll see Rico Scott step up. You'll see lots of your brook step up. Hey, Noah Rogers tore it up in the spring and he's been seen sparingly since he came back from injury. Maybe this is the Noah Rogers breakout game. There I say Tennessee's past defense on paper on this Tennessee's got the number 20 past defense in the country. I don't think it's the 20th best past defense in the country. I just think you got to test it can Alabama test it. You got to have time to test it. You'll learn a lot about them. I'm going to say before or say again, like I said before, there's a lot of talk coming out of that Georgia game that people are convinced. Georgia's one of, if not the very best teams in the country, but so is Alabama. That game could have gone either way and the second part of that statement is valid. We'll find out if the first part is valid. We'll find out if your Alabama's are really tit for tat with your Georgia's and Ohio states and Notre Dame's because if they are, they won't suffer from the symptoms that normal teams suffer from. The normal team comes off of what happened last week and they crash in this spot. This is for my money, the toughest place to play in the country, going in and in the stadium. A normal team would crash and burn there. Are you an ordinary team or is there a little something extra about you, a little something special because if there is, all that stuff won't matter and you will outplay them because you're that much better than them. Alabama, 25th in the country, 3rd down conversions, Tennessee 101st, 3rd down's a key stat here. Just as it was last week, Georgia was almost magician like and Gunner Stockton was almost magician like on 3rd down. Whoever ends up in the game at quarterback for Tennessee, can they do that sort of thing? But then the other side is, can you do that? Can you avoid busted negative plays? There's something to watch. I think the key for Tennessee is not needing 35 or 40 pass attempts here. Part of that is, well, you can't be playing from behind. But then even if you don't play from behind, the other thing that greatly behooves you keeping the ball out of the air is, you're 81st in giveaways and Alabama defensively is number three in the country and they're really good at scoring defensively too. What you need to do, what Tennessee needs to do is repeat version sort of what Georgia did last week. Georgia leaned on the ground game, but when they went to the air, they were deadly efficient with it. If you could replicate that kind of game, hypal always emphasizes running the ball well. But if they can pick their spots when they go to the air and they can be really, really lethal and precision based, that's how you win this game. It wouldn't be a massive upset, by the way, it would be a mild upset, I would say. So Mike Matthews, Braille and Staley, I mean, those guys have their shot against a Bama pass defense that's talented, but still in the 100s in overall statistics, you know, pass defense. So let's take a look at what the model says compared to Fando. Fando has got this at Alabama minus eight and a half. The model's been terrible with Alabama games all year, except last week, last week, model had Georgia winning by two and Georgia won by three. So Jesse, I'm going to do something here. I'm actually doing this a couple of times this week. I don't know if on these breakdowns we're doing tonight. I'm doing this again, but there are a couple of games. The model is highlighting this week, like this one right here. It only has Alabama minus five. I'm not sure dynamics are properly baked in here at the quarterback spots. So I'm going to go the other way. I'm not betting the game, so really there's no consequence here other than my reputation. I'm going to go Alabama minus eight and a half. I think that's the right side because I really do think that they're a good enough team to where they do circumvent the normal trends that you would expect to pop up here. But I don't feel great about it. We'll see. Maybe coming out of it, we'll be here Sunday and we'll say, "Oh, man, I can't believe I even sweated this game." Maybe, I've been at this game the last two times it's been at Neelan. It hasn't felt like you would expect it to feel either time. I tend to see two game winning streak at home. I was at it last year too, I think, Zabie and Brown pick. That was last year, right? Near a half time, yeah, it was. Okay, let's move on. Oh, what a game here. Noter-Dame at Brigham Young. You know what? Scrap it. Noter-Dame at BYU. I'll say, "Yep, I'm going to do it. I'm going to say the initials, even though I can't round the Y off properly." Close your mouth, Jesse. It's like a flytrap in their Saturday 7/30 Eastern kickoff on ABC College game days there. It's a huge game. It's a massive game. We think it's the biggest BYU home game in most of our audience's lifetime. Most of our audience is 18 to 34. You guys weren't around, or at the very least you weren't coherent the last time there was a game like this. What was it? 1990? Miami in 1990? Yeah. A long time. Like the Braves hadn't even started their division title run in 1990. Just as a point of reference there that everyone understands. This game's presented by Fandool. In the interest of acknowledging Fandool here, Noter-Dame is a 10-and-a-half point favorite. Top 10 match-up. 10-and-a-half point favorite, huh? Brigham Young hosting number one, or their first ever top 10 match-up in Probo. It's never happened before. This is history. There are nine unbeaten FBS teams left in the country. These are two of those teams. It's a third straight 5-0 start for Kalani Sittaki and Brigham Young, by the way. So, I know some of you have watched these teams play. I know many more of you have not. You've seen highlights and you've seen finals. That's okay. They haven't played a ton of premier games. I don't want to tell you you got to watch every single game out there.
We do but we have no life outside of college football. I understand you have responsibilities and you have lives and loved ones and children in some cases and homework in some cases. Don't worry though. I've got the most important question here. What is BYU's offense in this game? Believe it or not, that's the breakdown. That's the question. There's 17th and rushing. Oh great, they ought to run the ball. Well, Notre Dame's number three against the run. So if that doesn't work, what else do we have? Well, not much Josh because they're 88th passing. And there is no LJ Martin in this game. It's bringing me Young's tail back. He's not back yet. So what we have to do is we have to look at the tail back position. But the problem with the tail back position behind LJ Martin is they just faced Iowa State. Iowa State's in the 90s and run defense and it didn't matter. The tail back position still only amassed 17 carries in 54 yards. Now there is a second part to that stat and that is bear botmire. At quarterback becomes a running back. He had 109 on the ground against Iowa State. So yes, they can still formulate a ground game here. It's just a whole lot harder. There are no pass catchers on this team with more than 20 receptions or more than 400 yards. And it's by far the best secondary they've seen. Leonard Moore is playing in this game. Just got to give you the idea of the talent on the field. Notre Dame top three have a great defense in the country. They're plus 13 and turn over margin. It just sounds bad, bad, bad, bad, bad. I guess if I'm trying to picture how this would happen, someone said just have a spy in the chat. It's edgy. Has anyone thought of that? Just spy, spy what? I don't just spy. So CJ Carr has not had to throw out of necessity much this year. The out of context crowd just heard me say CJ Carr can't throw under pressure. No, no, no, no. I said CJ Carr hasn't been put under pressure and had to throw this year. It's very possible. CJ Carr is the best passer under pressure in the country and we just haven't seen it yet. Like Gunner Stockton, Hatton had to throw under pressure until last week. And then he was put under a ton of pressure and guess what he did? He carved Alabama up on third down. So for all we know, Brigham Young will apply pressure and they will get Notre Dame into a bunch of third and five plus obvious past situations. And it won't matter. Because CJ Carr just say, Hey, remember me, but you've at least got to make improve it, don't you? You can't just let him run the ball for 52 times down your throat. So you've got to implement the Iowa method. Do they get Iowa games in Provo? Like do we know how much Iowa football moves the needle in Provo? Actually, they probably think that's very insulting because they think their style is their style that don't need to emulate anyone else to that I would agree. I'll see that. All I'm saying is we've watched Iowa do this from time to time. We've watched Iowa avoid two score deficits and they throw a crowbar in the opposition's bicycle spokes offensively. They play the most hideous game imaginable. They win third and fourth down. They just completely induce a fist fight at the line of scrimmage and they hold you under 3.8 yards per carrier, something like that. There you find yourself in the fourth quarter and you've only had the ball eight times and you're like, how is this game this close? You don't know. You're getting I would. So you need to get Cougar Jesse, who's amongst us hasn't been there a time or two. You got to get Cougar. How do we do that? I don't know, but there is the possibility that bringing youngs just better than you think because you haven't watched them play much of anyone and Notre Dame's not quite as good as you think because you haven't watched them play anyone. But the opposite could be true too. Notre Dame could be bottling up their best game here. Can Notre Dame be rattled? It matters a lot to me because they're number one in the country in penalties right now. They're just not getting flagged much. They're very disciplined, very mature outfit. Again, it goes back to the pressure thing and how much it matters in this game. How many unopened doors are there on this Notre Dame team? And how many ugly truths can they reveal? That's the thing about potentially elite teams who don't face tough schedules. Indiana was this last week. Like you get this deep into the season and then you finally face a test. Okay, so with Indiana, we found out, man, they had trouble running the ball against Nebraska. That's kind of surprising to me. So that was an unopened door that when you opened it, you found out, oh, there's some struggle behind this. But like I said, for every unopened door that shows an ugly truth, there may be, you know, just like a mountain of cash. It may be a big strength that just hasn't had to be flexed. I will say the whole big 12 has got to be rooting for Brigham Young pretty hardcore in this game. Like, think about the cumulative impact on the conference that this game could have. Let's take a look at what Fandall thinks. I just told you Notre Dame's a 10 point favorite. We got to be brave little toasters here. The model has Notre Dame minus six, six, Jesse. That's four and a half points deviation. I don't know how it's going to happen. And I'm not betting this. So again, I'm putting nothing on the line other than my record of picking games on this show, which has been much better than the public would lead you to believe so far this year. Jesse, you're taking Notre Dame, right? I am going to take Brigham Young plus 10 and a half. Will I regret it? Probably. But I'll roll with them. The model says so. And as we all know, the model's never been wrong except for later in the show when I'm going to throw the model against a wall. You want to go to that game? It's going to cost you a little bit. I'm just I haven't looked at the get end price, but I would I would imagine for the biggest game in Provo, Utah, maybe in forever. I would imagine it's pretty cheap or pretty steep. You can go to Seagheek right now though. Go ahead, Jesse. $410 in American currency. That's the get in price right now. Okay. Well, I can shave a little bit of that off for you. If you go to Seagheek and you purchase tickets and you're parking, whatever you're going to get right right there, check out for this game or any game, by the way, Interpromo Code, Pate 10, P-A-T-E-1-0. And that will get you 10% off any order up to $200. Now, look, if you're going to this game, you're probably paying over $200. So I'll just get you $20 off any order above $200. Seagheek, season-along partner, and we appreciate them. I'm Lacey Mosley, author, actor, stand-up, comedian, creator, and host of Scam Goddess Podcasts. Like, we got to have a higher standard. We got to have a higher bar or a lower bar, I guess, than just picking a game wrong. Someone put breaking young 37 to 6 in the live chat. But if that happens, call the National Guard. Do you even go back to South Bend? Alt-line. Yeah, Alt-Universe. What happens? Like, what is the highest alt-line that Fandall would offer us? You take a bad posture when you start scrolling, point-spreads, Jesse. I don't know if you know what you look like in here. It's terrible. Straighten up. Yeah, I don't know what the most violent alt-line would be. And those of you who don't know anything about betting have no idea what I'm talking about here. 37 to 6. Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and pass on that. But look, it's a bold prediction, very bold prediction. 24.23 in the chat. That's more likely. I also lean the under on this game. Okay, the week 7JP poll is out. Now look, here is what I'm leaning towards doing. I'm leaning towards just not posting this on social anymore and just putting it on the show. Because everybody who watches our show kind of gets it even if they disagree with it. And people intentionally don't get it out in the gen pop of the internet and social media. So what we have here is not a ranking. I do rankings on Thursday. This is just we've got our model here. And hey, by the way, Bradley, you know who stepped up and defended the JP poll the other day? Of all people. Your close personal friend, Uncle Lou, stepped up and defended us. And I went and watched every bit of it. Now I thought he assassinated my character and misrepresented me a little bit. Compare me to a vanilla bowl of ice cream at one point. Oh, ice cream's not so bad. No, I just don't throw coaches under the bus because I do have personal relationships with a lot of them. But he defended the JP poll and you know what? He's right. He was right about it. So what we have here is neutral field favorability as pointed out by the model. For the record, I disagree with some of this this week. I'm not going to call it trash because it has my initials on it. But I don't agree with a lot of this. Anyway, I got your feedback. And since I agree with a lot of your feedback, let's go through this together, shall we? Firstly, Eric said, until they can show their offensive woes are fixed, Oregon being at number 10 is surprising. Yes, yes, it is surprising because I, if if I saw Oregon play Utah on a neutral field tomorrow, would dump money on Utah. If I saw them play, look at Baylor at 17 and that's its own can of worms. I'll uncork in a second, like there are several teams behind Oregon that I, if I ran my own sports book, I would favor over Oregon. I'll tell you why they're number 10 because any kind of predictive power rating just largely bakes in talent ratings. And Oregon's talent ratings very high, just like Texas. I'll get to them in a second. Texas is too high on this. So that's how a point spread is formulated and that's why it would be like that. But sometimes it's like having a kitchen full of ingredients, but they're past their expiration date, so they're just kind of spoiled. It doesn't matter if the ingredients are in there. Some years, the pieces just don't come together. And it's not a one or two week thing. It's just a trend. It's just not a good team. Texas A&M fits that description. I think Oregon fits that description. So yeah, I mean Nebraska goes up there and plays them this week. The fear is always like what Florida did to Texas last year. Like Florida, bad team, but they had really good talent in the room. If that talent clicks on any one given Saturday, that's what they can do. So I do, I understand this, but Oregon's too high, I agree. Next up, yeah, Chris said the model is once again drunk on Texas. And this is not the first time for the same reasons. Any kind of predictive modeling is going to largely take into account talent ratings. Every position is graded. Every player at every position group is graded. And what else do you have to go on? You're talking about player ratings that are assigned out of high school. It's mainly just recruiting data. But then even after they've played, like you're assigning talent grades to everybody, if the sum does not equal that of the individual parts, then you've got a flaw. You've got to fly in the ointment there. And Texas being at four right now, I don't even doubt necessarily that the JP pull itself, that the model itself is wrong here. I would just pick some of these teams over Texas. Like if Miami played Texas right now, and Miami was a two-point dog, I don't care, I'll just take Miami money line. So that would be me putting my money where my mouth is on thinking the JP pulls a little wrong in Texas. Next up, there's a question about UCLA, Chubs, who I was told died in Happy Gilmore, but somehow still here. He said, "I only can assume UCLA is absent because of Nico's injury, and that's being taken into account." Not really. So let me explain this. So UCLA is one of the stores of college football this year. This is a really, really good case study for the difference in polls versus power ratings. So the UCLA situation, think about earlier this week. They're coming off the win against Oregon, and you don't know that Nico's out for the year yet. Fandall released the line on UCLA at home against Wisconsin, and the number was only UCLA minus three and a half. And when you shave home field out of that, in other words, if you were to put those two teams on a neutral field, that's Fandall essentially telling you UCLA would be like a one or a one and a half point favorite, meaning they're telling you we don't view UCLA in Wisconsin as being that much different at all. You're free to go bet that if you think they're wrong, but that's not what this is about. This is about what the number would be on the neutral field. So then when the announcement about Nico got made, now the numbers drop to what Jesse won and a half. They're telling you, without the quarterback, they think Wisconsin is about a half point better. So I'm only explaining that to show you the difference between those two things. Like if this were ranking, I think we may have UCLA like top 10 later this week, but that's not how power ratings work. So no, I don't think UCLA being this low is merely a reflection of the quarterback being out. I think they were, you know, border top, borderline top 25 at best, even with Nico. All right, here's where Fandall disagrees with the model, and I disagree a little bit. Baylor. Malik said, need Fandall Mike to explain because I don't believe Baylor would be favored over Kentucky, Mississippi state or Texas tech on a neutral field. And Malik, you are correct, sir, because we have hit up Fandall Mike and Fandall Mike says, in those games, Kentucky would be a three point favorite over Baylor. Mississippi state would be a three point favorite over Baylor. Texas tech would be a five and a half point favorite over Baylor, which begs the question, why is the model drunk on Baylor? It's not just Texas. From Austin to Wake Go, up the I-35 corridor there, something is wrong with the model. Doesn't go all the way to Dallas because TCU is nowhere to be found. Is it the DJ lag way effect? Could it be? I have nothing to do with this because I think Baylor's a little overrated here. Although selfishly, I guess maybe sentimentally, I hope the model's right on Baylor because wouldn't it be a fun story? Wouldn't it be fun for me to be able to dust off my year and a half old preseason SEC quarterback rankings and say, good for you, DJ. Good for you. Never wrong just early. I don't think that's going to happen. But we'll see. And also Kentucky is at 25 and Brendan hit me and said, I don't know why the model and odds makers are disrespecting Kentucky. I genuinely don't believe it's far-fetched to see them in Atlanta or the playoffs. Well, those are bold proclamations, but okay, okay. Let's say for the sake of argument, you're right. Let's say Kentucky is on the trajectory to push for a spot in Atlanta or a spot in the playoffs. There's no such thing as disrespect in modeling. There's no such thing as an odds-maker disrespecting you. If they're lower on a team, then they should be just bet the team.
team. I kid you not. Last year I was doing I think get up and one of the ideas for a segment they had was is Vegas disrespecting so and so by having them as an underdog. And I said, I'm not saying this. If I thought they were disrespecting him, I wouldn't waste time talking about it. I just go bet the underdog. There's no disrespect. You you just bet it. If anything, them disrespecting a team is actually doing you a favor. It's an early Christmas present or maybe you're wrong. We've all been there. Maybe you're wrong. Lastly, again, fan duel disagreeing here. It goes to show you there's not fan duels numbers. They are the models numbers for better or for worse. Plus 40 units on the season, betting these numbers on fan duel should be noted. Those numbers documented on the locker room every Wednesday. Let's see Michigan news. Hit us and said Indiana over Miami is shocking. Well, I don't know if it's shocking. I will tell you though that fan duel agrees with you and not the model. We hit up Fandall Mike and asked if Miami and Indiana played on a neutral field today. What would the number be? Miami minus two. So that is another area where a Fandall disagrees. We got Indiana five Miami six. And Fandall says, nope, you need Miami higher. Need Indiana a little bit lower. So there you go. The JP pull this late in the season, Jesse, that much disagreement between the model and Fandall. Do you think Fandall's getting a little bit out of shape that we've won that amount of money? Do you think they view this as sort of half time and then they'll get their get back later in the year? I'll just stop betting. I'll just go home. I don't care. Nope. Can't do that. That's unethical. Pulaski Tennessee is tuned in. Dallas, Texas is tuned in and Oslo Norway is tuned in. You would never make it in Norway, Jesse, never, ever. Missouri at Ole Miss has game of the week potential. And it's on SEC Network Saturday at 330 Eastern. This game is fueled by quick trip. Crispy snacks in a crispy game. Got it. I knew I'd fit it in some where immunity. So imagine this week for Austin Simmons. I mean, put yourself in his shoes for a second. He is at Ole Miss. And then he goes down and then some kid named Trinidad Chamblis from Ferris State comes in and Austin Simmons never sees the field again. And then he transfers to Missouri. And now he's killing it there at the only time he throws a pick. It's a tip ball. And all the while he's coming back to Oxford this week while the guy that was responsible for putting the whole roster together is at LSU now. That's college football, circuit 2026. The last time Trinidad Chamblis will not Trinidad Chamblis. The last time Austin Simmons was in Mississippi was just a few weeks ago. He put on a four and a half childlike classic. Well, he and Camario Taylor combined to do that, which makes you wonder what could Austin Simmons and Trinidad Chamblis have in store. I know all the headlines will be about quarterbacks as it should be. But what about Jamal Roberts? What about the Missouri ground game? Jamal Roberts, paper popper, Josh Maxson, feel free to use this up there in Columbia. The high amount of respect I've had for you guys this year. As you well know, Jamal Roberts fourth SEC player in 20 years to go over 200 yards and back to back weeks per ESPN research that Jesse found in the pack. I mean, when you don't have on a mod hearty, you are supposed to be hurting mightily at running back. And instead Jamal Roberts said, I got it. I'm good. We're good. Everything's good. No, it's not for Ole Miss. That's the number 111 run defense in the country. So in the interest of maybe keeping Trinidad Chamblis off the field, a couple of extra series. Jamal Roberts is the key there. The ground game is the key here. You could also say Missouri's offensive line has been a little undervalued. We should get Kubrick on the show and just do a Missouri offensive line breakdown. Imagine the thumbnail. Imagine the traffic. Missouri offensive line breakdown. 15 minutes, 20 minutes. Missouri third in runs of 50 plus yards. So they'll throw a catbuster run on you in a heartbeat. Ole Miss is 120 minutes in runs of 40 plus yards allowed. So you can close your eyes unless you're driving or working out or doing anything that takes hand eye coordination. And you could picture this sort of game where first and 10, no game. Second nine, no game. Third and eight gone. That's the kind of game it could be from Missouri. It's not like steadily ripping off 7, 6, 10, 8. It could be the kind of game where you wait, wait, wait, and then boom. An explosion happens. Only game Missouri doesn't hold the quarterback edge in. Do we think that's an accurate statement? The entire year this year. At least the rest of the way. Good very well. Be true. Because Austin Simmons has been incredible. The Missouri defense, Top 10 versus the run. 91st against the pass. Enter, Trinidad Shamless. Because we've already seen Missouri play Florida. And you know, it's one thing facing Aaron Filo when you get pressure on him. It's another thing facing Trinidad Shamless getting pressure on him. Because Missouri's got top 15, have a great defense. They're one of four power four teams with two players with at least five sacks. So they've gotten after the quarterback. If you pull that off against Trinidad Shamless, you've done something. People don't really get him on the ground all that much. There's a huge difference in in pressuring Trinidad Shamless versus getting them on the ground. And those are the kinds of plays that drive you insane because you can do everything right and still lose. There's a dynamics edge here. Think about Missouri. They're coming off that big emotional winning against Florida. Then they beat A&M both those games were at home. Then they go back on the road. Since the last time they were on the road, which wasn't Mississippi state. And that was a loss. Ole Miss, meanwhile, came off a buy. And then they splattered Vanderbilt. And I thought it was really important. They got extra rest for Kiwan Lacey. He had seven carries in that game, right? So it wasn't a heavy workload game. So look, you should get the best of Ole Miss here. Like they should be primed and ready to go. Let's take a look at what the model thinks in comparison to Fandall. So this number is currently Ole Miss, minus six and a half. Model agrees. Ole Miss, minus six and a half. I think in a game that could be so back and forth and so high variance because of explosive plays. There's a chance Missouri could win the game. But there's a really good chance it could be like a last team with the ball, last possession type game. So any points that I'm getting, I'm taking them. So I'm going to take Missouri, plus six and a half. I think I'd lean Ole Miss to win the game. But actually, if I were betting it and I was, this is going to sound ridiculous. Because I don't think I would bet, if I were going to bet money line, I don't think the value to be in taking Ole Miss money line. I would take Missouri money line because I think it's such a high variance game. But I'm not betting money line. I'm taking Missouri, plus six and a half. I do think Ole Miss will win the game, but I have much more confidence in Missouri, plus the points. We have partnered with court yard and Perez has been having a lot of fun with it. Actually, the whole staff has. So you guys have been asking, okay, what does that mean? What does that mean? Because like a lot of you were already on court yard, a lot of you are really, really big into the collectible space. So I will tell you now. I meant to tell you the other night. In the description of this video of the live show right now, you could go there and sign up for court yard because I've got a ton of giveaways coming. You know, for example, like I ripped packs open. Instead of me keeping that, which would be selfish, just giving those cards away. You know, the real good ones we pulled, Jesse, just giving them away, giving them away to who? Well, people who have signed up. So that's what I was trying to tell you. In the description of this show right now, you got a couple of links. The link that you want to click on if you haven't signed up already is to sign up. You go through that link. It'll already have our promo code in there. If you want to sign up for a court yard account, the old fashioned way, go ahead and do that. Just intrepate state as the promo code. But once you've done that, there's a doc in the description, right, Jesse? So just click on that doc, enter your court yard username. And we'll just have it there. We'll have it on file. And when we're doing giveaways, that's who we're choosing. That's the list we're choosing from to do giveaways. So it's not just random. We're not throwing it in the live chat. Someone just said, Jesse loves you and apparently Pokemon cards in the live chat. Did I tell the story about what you did the other night? Yes. So Jesse, first off, Jesse said a new PR on bench press before the show. I'm not going to give the number, the live chat can guess if they want to be a fun poll question in the live chat. But the other thing Jesse did the other night is Jesse walks in our meeting room after a show, right? And everyone's bragging like, you know, press says, well, I've got an IQ of 150. And I was like, well, I've visited all 50 states. And Jesse says, well, I can name all 151 original Pokemon. And I said, no, you can't cause that's insane that anyone could do that. He did it. He did it. He got stuck on one. Would you get stuck on? Do you remember one of the ghost ones? It wasn't hit my channel or hit my lea. I know it. Yeah. So courtyard, courtyard is in the right hand.
I don't know if they're in good hands, but they're in the right hands. Go sign up. Someone guessed 95 pounds, 45. So now people are just guessing Jesse's bench press max in the live chat. There are a lot of double digit numbers in there. A lot of double digits. 135, 115 congrats big dog. Yeah, 112. You're like metric, you're European weights when I go and just divisible by five. I'm Lacey Mosley, author, actor, stand-up comedian, creator, and host of SCAM Goddess Podcast. The True Crime Comedy Podcast, all about robbery, fraud, and those who practice it. All the way up to today. [MUSIC PLAYING] There are thousands of podcasts that can tell you how to better yourself. Fake a back injury. Kill them. Kill them. You don't need them. You only need one thing, and that's the GetWorks podcast. Listen to GetWorks with Kyle Pru on the IHR Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. [MUSIC PLAYING] Hey, everybody. It's me, Debbie C'mell. This season on my podcast, who's with me, I speak with two-time Emmy winner and weirdly one of my best friends, Kevin Avery. Everything up to that point, Bill G. was a comic. Us going on the road, doing battle, mountain, and e-lead. Yeah, you took me-- You were one of the first people who took me on the road. [LAUGHTER] With rapper, actor, David Diggs. But it was still for me. It was me and my friends making something dumb. Listen to who's with me with Debbie C'mon, Bill, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm educating. I can talk all week on millions of subjects. I'm Emmanuel Jocci. I'm Kai Wright. And this is Big Lives. All right. It's time to talk overreactions. Several overreactions. I asked you guys earlier today. It wasn't what's the biggest overreaction been in college football this year. And man, I can relate to some of these, because I actually agree with these. I mean, campus rundown said, one of the overreactions is Oregon would just be perfectly fine after losing both coordinators. Yes. It seems in retrospect, we may have overlooked slightly how tough it is to replace both coordinators. And you could say this about A&M or Oregon, because Elko and landing are both dealing with different versions of the same thing. So it's tough. It's very tough, and the problem is it's like once you get out in the open ocean, you can't go back. Once you get out into the season, you don't get to turn around and go back to port. Oh, man, we've got a leak here. We need to address it. There's no turning back. You just sink or float, sink or swim, whatever you choose. But yet, it's been tough to watch, not to mention the quarterback injury situation. I mean, and Dan Landing's team, they got Nebraska this week, but they still got Ado, Ohio state laid. I don't want to overlook Northwestern. I don't want to overlook any of these games, actually. So at Illinois, Northwestern, Ado, Ohio state, that Washington game doesn't feel nearly as big as it once felt, but then again, who knows? Next up, this one again, I will admit, a lot of us fell victim to. One of the big overreactions was that Texas is back. It's the same verse every year. How can I speak out against that right now? Texas on paper, again, I keep waving the paper and then the microphone, Texas, same problems. Same problems that we've seen him have before. I mean, we're looking at B-roll right now, if you're listening to a podcast of The Red River Shootout, known by no other name on this show, with Archmaning executing the exact playbook Oklahoma needed to have happened to win a game. Cannot believe it. And this is not a team that's gotten through the meat of its schedule, and now they'll coast. No, they won't. They got Florida this week, and you can think whatever you want to Florida, but I'm not looking past anyone right now, but they got Ole Miss coming in there in two weeks. They got Mississippi State. They go to Missouri still. They go to LSU. Gross. So I'd be very surprised if Texas ran that slate. I mean, they have a lot of issues right now, and I mean, they're asking Sark if he's gonna give up play calling and he's given a definitive note. And he means it. He means it. So I don't know, Jesse. I don't know. I'm very disappointed so far in the output from Texas. Next up, oh, we're gonna address this, huh? I have the storm. 2001 hit us up and said the biggest overreaction has been your Florida comparison to 2019 LSU, biggest overreaction of all time. Hey, man, if anyone compared Florida to 2019 LSU, that would be a big overreaction. It may come as a shock to you to find out I didn't do that. If you've been scanning social media lately, you may think otherwise. Certain out of context social media clips did me no favors. But I have the unfortunate news to inform you tonight that we have the full context clip that we clipped from the actual show that no one bothered to go watch from a couple of weeks ago. So you've probably seen a lot of hubbub. If you're on Twitter, you're on social media, you've seen a lot of people casting aspersions towards the good name of this show. Dare I even say my somewhat good name? Let me show you what it all came from. Roll it, Bradley. - I think, I'm not saying I will believe this, but I think we're on the precipice of one more week of that happening and people go LSU 2019 on Florida. 'Cause LSU 2019, in the rear view mirror, you could consider one of, if not the greatest teams of all time. But I remember what it was like during the season. And during the season, everyone kept asking, "When is this gonna go off the rails?" First off, they kept saying, "Well, eventually, "they'll have to play Bama." But then they beat Alabama and then they were off to the races, but the first quarter, first half of the season, people kept looking and they couldn't quite figure him out. Shocking, I know. Yeah, that's what that all stems from. So, I mean, that's a show where we joke around a lot too. So, in the midst of all that, remember, this is when we're coming off the Florida Ole Miss game. If Florida was going to Missouri. And my whole point was, if they go hang 50 on Missouri, people are gonna get really out of control with what they're saying about Florida. That was it. That was it. No, didn't compare Florida to 2019 LSU. Next up, I will say it was an overreaction on social media, though. Next up, this is Happy News. This is very Happy News. Riley said, "It was an overreaction. The cancel, "Cocktober." Maybe it was. Maybe it was because like the Undertaker rising from the grave against Cain himself, Jane Beamer announced to the world, and so did Lenora Sellers, and so did Nick Harbor, and so did Dylan Stewart that Cocktober is not canceled against the University of Florida, no less, in the swamp the other day. And you know what they did, Jesse? They got a lead, and then they stretched the lead. They didn't give it up. I'm happy. I'm happy. It brings me a ton of joy.
because I recognize October, me and my family, me and my household, we celebrate October. We don't want October to be canceled. We don't want Shane Beamer to be canceled. So who do they have this week Jesse? I don't, I don't, I don't have the schedule off the top of my head. They are off and then they've got Tennessee in a let down spot after the third Saturday in October. Sounds like we could have a little October run here and then they go to, they go to Norman, Oklahoma, very up and down. Shane Beamer, I think they smoked Oklahoma the last time they went out there, right? That was a couple of years ago. My memory is hazy. Anyway, yeah, October, not canceled after all. And lastly, let me address another, not a mistruth, but a misunderstanding. I've seen floating around the internet. Whoever blue and white is said, so Josh Pate spent all winter in all off season, off season, telling Penn State fans Matt Campbell was a great hire. He does more with less. He's the perfect fit, et cetera. Now six games into the tenure. It's flipped. Not enough talent. And Penn State won't spend to back him. Keep this up, Bradley. I didn't flip anything. I still think all of those things. I think Matt Campbell was a great hire. I think he has done more with less in his career. I think he's the perfect fit for Penn State. Nothing, none of that flipped. What happened the other day is after observing them play football this year, I looked and I said, I don't think they got good enough players. Maybe my expectation was a little higher than what they put on the field so far. I think everyone would say that. So I think everyone's disappointed with the product so far. But what what a lot of people took umbridge with. And I don't know why with what I said on the show the other night, which I will repeat again is personnel people front office personnel people in the big 10 independently. So not one multiple independently in the big 10 have expressed to me they don't think Penn State is going to spend to acquire roster talent for Matt Campbell like they do at other big boy big 10 schools. That ain't me saying Pat Kraft has or hasn't done anything. It's not even me saying I don't think they will. I have no idea. Jesse's the resident Penn State fan here. So I don't know the inner workings that they're in. I don't have no clue how much they spent on the roster. Truthfully I let Nikos handle that stuff. I just ask him I don't know. I'm telling you that's what people have expressed because they have not because I'm backing anyone up. Now I will say this if you think that I express that on the show the other night because I do want it to light a fire under some people because I want Matt Campbell to win at Penn State. You're dead on the money accurate. I do want Matt Campbell to win at Penn State. I like him a whole lot. But that doesn't mean it wasn't said. It was said to me. I chose to express it publicly because I hope it lights a fire under the right people because to me like Penn State football is huge. They had 114,000 people in that stadium the other night for a product that's been a losing product so far this year. I mean those those facilities are immaculate to massive fan base. I look at it and I say man if you invest this much in football why not go the extra mile and like invest in the roster to me that was the sentiment I was trying to express. Yeah I want him to win there a whole lot. I love Matt Campbell. So I mean I guess Veil lifted there. I think I've made that pretty clear over the last several years. Next up you two thumbs up. Oh you want me to tell them to like the video. Jesse wants you to like the video. I do too. Please like the video. Thank you so much for watching. I have not even had my monitor pulled up over here. Oh yeah good crowd tuned in. Good crowd tuned in. Appreciate you guys so much. I tried to type a smiley face but it never works. Sad. Okay we had a question. I'm gonna read it to you. We can all answer it together. It said in a year with so many teams having obvious flaws is it safe to say Georgia's the best team in the country because they don't have one. I don't think there's any flawless team. That includes Georgia. What you're looking for is the team with the least amount of flaws and the most versatility to cover those flaws in any given game. And yes I do think it's fair to say Georgia is that team. So like Georgia plays Alabama the other night. Incredible performance. They ran the ball against statistically a good run defense. They went into the teeth of a hostile environment. Like I thought they were the better team. In fact I think the officiating stuff being made a big deal of overshadows that the better team won the other night. I thought Alabama would win the game going in because I thought Alabama was the better team. They're not better than Georgia right now. So officiating or not. Like that's stood out to me the other night. The third down throws from Gunner Stockton. The throws period from Gunner Stockton. The speed the east west speed of that defense. Yeah yeah that that absolutely along with the fact that they don't have like a stud thousand yard type wide receiver one and they still keep finding guys. It's just like it's an it's an incredibly versatile team. So yes I wouldn't have a problem with you saying that but I don't view it as Georgia and then the rest of the pack. I think Ohio State is going to be a big factor here. Georgia 1000% is a big factor here. A Notre Dame. We don't know yet but I think my gut is they're going to be a big factor here. I think 1000% think Miami is a big factor here. I still think Indiana may be a big factor there and I think Alabama is going to be a big factor there. The difference with Georgia Bama's we've seen them play. What you wonder about Alabama being so young is what do they look like two months down the road. And the other thing is you got to be careful when you've seen a less than optimal performance from a team. I'm not even speaking about one in particular but like a team. Let's say Miami played FSU this weekend. They only win by three. I mean that'd be crazy because there are 21 and a half point favorite and you'd look and you say oh man something's wrong with Miami or Indiana last week and two weeks prior. They get by by the skin of their teeth. I think it's Northwestern and then Nebraska. You may be thinking oh man Indiana that's not the same Indiana. I keep going back to Miami last year. Miami they didn't barely beat Louisville. They lost to Louisville. They didn't barely beat SMU. They lost to SMU. Guess what they did at the end of the year. Played their best ball and were very close to winning a national title. So you got to ask yourself in addition to all the rest of the stuff you've seen which teams if they hit the gas at the right time have a card that can go 150 miles an hour like which ones can just blow the field away. I oh miss may still be that. That's a deficient team defensively. Technically and I'm just going to use capital T technically. Texas is talent profile says they're that. I'm not going there with Texas. Like I've dismissed them from this conversation for the time being. But yeah I got no problem. I mean I put Georgia number one but I'm telling you Ohio State, Miami, Bama, Notre Dame like those teams are going to have a lot to say about that. We've also we got to keep in mind this entire landscape now is such that one injury can so disproportionately affect it. The Georgia teams of the late 20 teams early 2020s, the Bama teams, the Clemson teams, the Ohio State teams, those teams they could be missing a couple of future first round draft picks and still win because they had more future first rounders behind them. That kind of depth rarely exists. Now I say that just as we're talking about Georgia and we just watched what Dwight Phillips did with Georgia's top two tailbacks out. So certain positions still fit that description. Georgia could certainly stand to lose a tight end or two for a game and they could still be okay. But by and large like line of scrimmage it's just not that way that much anymore. So you always got to, you always got to like be very careful when you start speaking to defenders like that. But yeah, I'd say Georgia number one right now. At Fandall, if you wanted to, you could go bet all that right now or you could go to Fandall, do something for free and that's play, pick them. So every Wednesday, a new version of the game posts on Fandall. Myself, Will Compton, Taylor LaWan, we all pick 10 games, the same games. So we all pick 10 games against the spread. You can go over there and you can enter for free. You just have to have an account. You can enter for free. A last week, we had over 236,000 entries. 181 of you went 10 for 10. So if you tuned into the Sunday show, we got in on Wisconsin plus three and a half. That number's not available anymore. So you need to have watched the Sunday show. I'm doing something that I think's insane tonight. We are betting on food. It's that time of millennium, Jesse. Rice is playing Tulsa. Rice is plus four and a half. Don't ask me why the model loves rice. It actually thinks the wrong team's favored. Again, don't ask. I'm not breaking down rice football tonight or ever until they join the Southwest Conference again, but we are taking rice plus four and a half. What has this show come to? I don't know. There's a super check. I hope Alex is watching. They want pocket t-shirts. Jesse, you've called for pocket t-shirts. Haven't you? Maybe we'll invest that $20 and we will go start pocket t-shirts. By the way, a lot of subs during the show tonight. We are 25 away from $582,000. So on your way out tonight, if you have not already subscribed to the channel, please do so.
