Week 7 Mailbag Q&A! Start/Sit, Waivers & Questions Answered! (10/23 Fantasy Football Podcast)
1h 24m 6s
The transcription blends lifestyle and entertainment content centered around shopping, fashion, and fantasy football. It highlights live shopping on Whatnot, where real-time product demonstrations allow collectors to inspect rare items like sports cards, offering transparency and savings. It also promotes Stitch Fix as a personalized styling service that delivers clothes based on individual preferences and lifestyles. A fantasy football segment features fan questions and debates on player trades, injuries, and lineup decisions, with commentary on trade ethics and player performance. The discussion includes personal anecdotes about fashion choices, such as wearing socks or shirts with holes, leading to humorous self-criticism. Additionally, the show promotes a range of products—from home security (SimpliSafe) and healthy meals (Factor) to financial tools (Cash App) and career training (Year Up United)—offering practical solutions to daily challenges. The tone is conversational, blending humor, personal experience, and expert advice to engage audiences across different interests.
If you're like me and love the hobby, you know how hard it can be to hunt down those rare finds without paying full retail prices.
Last week, I took a shopping trip on Whatnot to look for a specific Fernando Mendoza rookie card auto, and I honestly had a blast.
Whatnot is the largest live shopping marketplace in the United States, and it's completely changing how we shop online.
You're not just staring at static photos on a screen. You watch sellers show the real card live before you buy.
I hopped into a stream, asked the seller a question in the chat about the card's surface, and they immediately held it up to the camera and showed me every angle in real time.
The energy in the stream was infectious, with collectors breaking boxes, ripping packs, and pulling everything from rare prism colors to unbelievable one-out-of-one cards.
Did you know four sports cards are sold on Whatnot every second?
Beyond sports memorabilia, you can find everything from luxury bags to gourmet food, making it easy to shop live with sellers who know the hobby and score incredible savings on items you love.
Download Whatnot today and get $20 off your first live purchase. Search Whatnot. That's W-H-A-T-N-O-T in the App Store.
Sign up and take a shopping trip.
I'll be honest with you, I've never really enjoyed shopping for clothes. It's just not my thing.
But I do like getting nice clothes, and I like looking good, and I like feeling confident when I get dressed.
So what's the solution here? It's Stitch Fix.
This is an online personal styling service that has helped so many people get better style effortlessly.
So stop scrolling through a bunch of websites, and stop driving to stores, and just go to Stitch Fix.
Here's how it works. It's very simple.
You take a quick style.
You take a quick quiz.
You share your size, your vibe, your budget.
You're going to get linked with a stylist, and an actual human being, by the way.
So you get linked to the stylist, and they do the rest of the work.
You get sent a fix box with clothes that actually fit you and make sense for your style and your needs.
And then you try them on.
You keep what you like.
You send back what you want to return.
The returns are free.
The shipping is free.
No subscription is required.
And you're going to get a free try-on for your first order.
So get started today at StitchFix.com.
That's StitchFix.com.
This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
It's mailbag time.
We should have a good one for you today.
Welcome.
Welcome to the show.
It's Friday, October 23rd.
You might be listening on Saturday.
Hope your weekend is going well.
Happy Friday, Jamie.
Happy Friday, Adam.
Happy Saturday, Dan.
Happy Saturday, Adam.
First of all, I just wanted to ask, man, are you okay?
Look, I don't know what I've gotten here, but I probably got a few dollars to spare.
If you need a new pair of socks, I got my wallet on me.
I got your Venmo.
I mean, socks, shirt.
It's a big week for you.
You've had quite a while.
Quite a week.
Let me ask you a question.
Don't answer it if the answer is too, you know, inappropriate.
But when it's cold out, when it starts to get cold out like now, you know, cool and cold overnight, what are you sleeping?
A good question.
I'm somebody who can't sleep hot.
So not only do I usually sleep with a crack open in the window, even when it's pretty cold out.
Nothing inappropriate.
Yeah.
I sleep with just. Typically like pajama pants.
I like those.
No, never socks.
I don't understand people who sleep in socks.
Are you one of those people?
Sometimes.
It has to be really cold, I think.
I've never understood that once in my life.
And then just a t-shirt and no comforter at any point.
I'm just a sheet only guy.
I've never. Yeah.
I can't be hot when I'm sleeping, bro.
I can't be hot when I'm sleeping.
I have to be cool at all times.
Wow.
Comforter, sweatpants, long sleeve shirt and hoodie.
Let me ask you a question about the. Let me ask a question about the holey socks that I saw from earlier this week.
Yeah, yeah.
When there's a hole like that in a sock, you don't immediately think to throw it out?
Your thought is I can get away with this?
I've said a lot of my socks have holes in them.
Most of them have holes like on the ankle.
This was the only sock that has a hole like on the bottom.
Yeah, because then you're feeling that.
The one on the bottom. They need to be thrown out.
That was the worst thing ever.
That's a mean trash.
But then the hole in the shirt, in the arm. That was worse than my sleeves, Jamie?
The sleeves were worse than that.
The sleeves. No, the sock was one billion percent worse.
The sock is weird and worse because you're like stepping on. I guess like you're just. That wasn't like. The shirt, you at least explained, had sentimental value to you.
It is something that makes you feel comfortable.
I just sleep in it.
I need crappy clothes to sleep in.
Which I get.
But that doesn't mean you need to bring it to the show.
The fact that you're wearing the socks that had the Grand Canyon of holes in it. Yeah.
And you still haven't thrown it out.
You still have not thrown it out.
You got to throw that out.
But I. All of this would have been fine for me if you didn't, at prior points on this show's
history, call me a slob, on air, call me a slew of names that have really been redacted
since by you or tried to be redacted since by you and not, in my head, I've never let
you redact any of them.
So it really just comes down to you saying things to me and getting away with them.
Getting away.
All right.
Well, we'll revisit that in a bit here.
Let's answer your YouTube questions.
What we have today, we have your questions.
So at YouTube, obviously, your email is at fantasyfootballatcbsi.com.
That is the letter I.
Your Apple podcast questions, your Spotify questions.
And of course, the fantasy cops are here.
I have like six fantasy cops, you know, issues in the notes.
I don't know if we'll get to all of them.
Oh, no, we'll get to all of them.
Could it be last week, though?
Because the best part was you found one email that agreed with you.
Every YouTube comment.
That was unreal.
You're so full of crap.
Adam.
No.
That is true.
What Jamie's saying.
That is true.
What Jamie's saying.
Do not let me read them here.
I'll read.
I'll read it for you.
We went back.
Jamie and I did the stats on the show that we did.
We did the regular stats.
You can't box score advanced analytics.
Everything.
The tape.
You just can't find one email that agrees to you every time.
No, I found a lot of people that did.
Honestly.
Oh, yeah.
Adam, you are absolutely out of your mind on this.
You cannot let Puka and Ken Walker go through.
Diggs and Gordon Cook is a full tier or two below.
Don't need to read them all.
Jamie, we the fans know the fans were here.
I'm so mad at Adams.
Adam's dumb take that Ken Walker and Puka trade isn't collusion.
Adam be tripping.
I saw it, but there were.
I'm not even sold that like the email Adam said.
I'm not sold that it wasn't Adam from a burner account sending that email.
That's true.
Right.
We don't know that.
There's no proof that didn't happen.
It reminds me of like that.
Oh, yeah.
I have a girlfriend in Canada kind of thing.
Like my girlfriend.
I have a girlfriend, but she's in Canada.
Like type of thing with Adam saying people agreeing with him on this point.
You cannot let this trade happen.
Look, some people supported me.
I'm telling you.
Yes.
Oh, yeah, sure.
I'm telling you.
100% right.
How about that?
There's a comment that you didn't read from this one.
From who?
You just had to scroll for like two minutes to find that.
It's there.
I agree with Adam.
We don't even know if it's true.
I'm on fantasy cops because Dan has no sense of consistency.
But Puka and Ken for literally anything is a big veto.
All right.
I'm not getting a lot of love in these comments here.
So I'm going to stop reading them.
OK, let's let's get to your YouTube questions.
Let's get started with.
Omar Cooper Jr.
Or Jalen Waddle.
That's a great question to start with.
I'm going.
I'll go with Cooper.
Adam might be the most dishonest guy on the Internet today.
Geez.
Wow.
Brian, that was.
That's a little too much.
Can even for me, Jonah Coleman really take the RB one job in Denver?
No, I don't think so.
I only think that would happen if Dobbins misses a game plus with injury.
And Coleman is just absolutely fantastic.
What do we got here?
Fanon.
And Hawkinson.
If he even took that job, would it matter?
Fanon, Hawkinson or pits at tight end?
It's pits on paper, but I'm intrigued by Hawkinson in this matchup.
Worryometer on Adam Sox.
Seventy five.
Yeah, it's good.
Seventy five.
That's way too low.
It is.
What are we talking about?
It's a ninety nine.
It's a max.
It's a it's a hundred because hundred.
Yeah, it's ripped.
It's literally should be thrown out.
It'd be worse.
And I say this as somebody who has no style, no sense of fashion, nothing, and probably has old clothes that should have been thrown out.
Years ago, like my Monday shirt from Wisconsin, it's like 15 years old.
But out of and it has a hole in here, by the way, no one's ever seen.
It's got a little rip in the armpit area.
It's a Monday's Wisconsin shirt.
Monday's bar in Madison.
But I'm never throwing that shirt out.
But a sock, a sock, you feel you feel a hole in the bottom.
I don't understand how you could go on with that.
And the toe and the toes would have been worse.
That's why I don't think it could be a hundred.
Would you trade Tetero McMillan for what you're talking about?
It was this big.
Yeah, but the fact that you're justifying.
Yeah.
Where the holes are in your sock.
No, I just think.
You're right.
I'm a mess.
Like if it's just in the ankle, play on.
It's like a whole like system for like what?
This is really the serious question I have for you, because I know what the answer is.
You're going to lie no matter what you say.
You're only going to throw out the one bad sock.
You're going to keep the other one, aren't you?
No, I'm going to throw them both out.
I think he's keeping the other one.
I think they're both probably ripped.
Anyway, would you trade Tetero McMillan for for Javante Williams in PPR?
No, it's a very fair trade.
I think if you need a running back, that's a great trade to make.
I would take Javante on that side.
Pick two.
Jalen Royals, Kanata Mumfield, Kobe Parkinson.
I'm in hell.
That is hell.
Go Rams.
You said Rams?
Yeah.
Both Rams.
Yeah, I can't start Jalen Royals with any kind of confidence.
I'm fine with that.
And I'll never start Royals, right?
Royals.
No.
Hold on, let me get my guitar.
There are more holes in Adam's logic than in his socks.
That's true.
Cause there's only one hole in a sock and there's a thousand holes in his
logic.
There are more holes in my socks than just one Higby or Juwan Johnson.
Johnson Higby for me,
Kelsey or Hawkinson Higby.
If Puka's out.
Yeah.
Uh,
Kelsey,
but I do like Hawkinson's matchup and I'm perfectly fine playing him this
week.
Here comes Dan going on a,
a fantasy.
Uh,
I'm not going to call it a rant,
but fantasy side note here.
Here you go.
This is for you.
Is John Dotson a thing?
Oh,
you knew about my hot since John Dotson love on Monday show.
I talk,
I talk about it on Tuesday too.
And Thursday.
Um,
I don't know if it's a consistent thing,
but I do like the fact that from what I've seen,
he's getting these isolated matchups one-on-one on the outside on the
boundary.
And all the defensive attention is focused post-snap on Drake London,
given what they've seen and pits for that,
for that point.
And obviously Bijan around line scrimmage,
just constant one-on-ones.
And he looks good,
man.
He's getting open Dotson.
He was a former first round pick.
I liked him at Penn state and Penix is throwing the football pretty
well.
To me,
it's an underrated asset that I think you may struggle to find
consistency with,
but it's fine to play in your flex at times.
Cool.
Chris Godwin or Pat Friermuth.
Godwin.
If a book is out,
well,
what about if Baker plays versus not?
If Baker doesn't play your,
your,
if,
if it book is out,
but Baker's out,
you're still playing Godwin there.
Jamie.
No,
then I could see going,
it's his birthday Sunday.
Yeah.
Well,
it's also national tight end day or something before the,
before this morning show,
I looked in national for whatever.
So I only look at one year national tight ends.
Last year was not a special tight ends day.
It was very normal,
but I think I saw a five year case of it.
I'm going to have to now find this on Twitter that somebody tweeted last
night where like it is,
there was a slight uptick in tight end touchdowns for national tight end
day.
I think,
which by the way,
is there a national receiver running back?
Why is there only a tight end day?
Oh yeah.
Can we make one for like the players who have been like,
can we have national?
Yeah.
Would you trade national charge?
I mean,
we can start it.
Would you trade shade?
I love it.
Chase Brown for Jalen Coker and Josh Jacobs.
I would not.
I would take the Coker and Jacobs.
I need to.
Okay.
I would not.
Um,
would you true?
Let's see.
A sock with a hole is no longer a sock.
T Higgins or Jalen Coker in PPR.
Okay.
What a transition.
Um,
actually I'll go with Higgins here.
It's way off.
Mel wrote Jamie CVS.
Can Adam get a raise please?
And it's just funny because he wrote CVS like the pharmacy.
There are times I'm sure for all of us where people have been like,
wait,
you work for the pharmacy.
They have a sport.
Like people get,
I,
uh,
I think if you really,
really were stuck,
you can use a CVS receipt as a sock.
I thought he was just,
I thought this comment was just based on how often you're sick.
When is the last time I was sick?
Oh,
your eye counts.
The eye counts.
You'd be on the injury report.
Something was wrong with you.
Laporta or Josh Jacobs.
You know what it is?
It's probably that you have so many holes in your socks.
Like you rub your feet and then you touch your eye and there has to be some germs there.
That's nasty.
If you knew anything about me,
you would know that I would never rub my foot and then touch my eye.
Yeah.
Never.
All right.
Ask Dan the question already.
We got to get to at least one of these.
All right.
Laporta.
Three more.
Half PPR,
I go Laporta.
Laporta.
Should I drop Emmanuel Wilson or Jordan Mason for Charbonnet?
Yeah.
Wilson.
I have a lot.
Yeah,
not Mason.
I wouldn't be surprised if Wilson were better this week just based on the reporting,
but yeah.
Yeah,
but long term.
Let's see.
Vele,
Woody Marks,
or Omar Cooper?
Cooper.
If Devante Smith doesn't play?
Oh, no, I'm sorry.
Woody Marks.
Woody Marks.
It's Woody Marks,
but honestly,
I think I might go Woody Marks if Devante Smith does play,
which he will,
I assume.
But you guys probably disagree with that.
I'm on Woody Marks here no matter what.
Giants run defense is horrible.
Adam's favorite player is Sock Bowers.
That's not funny.
Sorry.
Sorry to you.
No, nice try.
I didn't mean to be a jerk,
but I don't find that funny.
Braylon Allen or Quinn John Judkins?
Allen if Brees is out.
Yeah, Allen if Brees is out for sure.
And then Boston,
Godwin or Bernard?
I actually would go Godwin if Buka's out and Baker's playing.
Otherwise, I'm going Bernard if it's PPR.
I'm going Bernard regardless.
Would you say you're going?
Yeah.
Yeah, probably Godwin with Baker and no Buka's interesting.
And then likely or Chigokonko rest of season?
Likely, likely.
This is an embarrassing question.
No, just kidding.
It's fine.
Jeez.
Speaking of embarrassing.
I shouldn't be.
Let's ask you a few questions here.
Okay.
First one is,
do you know who?
A lot of money on the line here, Dan.
Yeah.
Oh, nice.
Let's go.
Do you know?
The problem with these questions are like inherently I'm rooting for Jamie,
so I may try to game theory it and just figure out.
No, no, no.
Be honest.
I don't do that.
We need honesty here.
Do you know who Phil Donahue is?
I've heard the name.
It doesn't count.
I've definitely heard.
What did you say?
That doesn't count though.
He knew that would be your answer.
I think.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Hold on.
NBA.
Tell me if I'm right or wrong.
NBA.
That is not correct, but keep going.
Who did you think Phil Donahue was?
Something with like an NBA official.
Oh, Phil Donahue.
That was Donahue.
Donahue.
Donahue.
Okay.
But not Phil.
Okay.
That's.
It was Phil.
Was it Phil?
Phil Donahue?
Yeah.
Yeah.
No.
Phil Donahue was a talk show host back in the day.
Okay.
So that I'm out on already.
I've already.
All right.
Adam's up 1-0.
All right.
Next.
Do you know who Whoopi Goldberg is?
Yes.
I know who Whoopi Goldberg is.
Okay.
No, but that wasn't the answer though.
That wasn't the question.
Okay.
That was.
He's going to know now, but.
Can you name.
Can you name anyone.
Well, actually, no.
I have two more.
Have you seen any of the Lord of the Rings trilogies?
Now, Jamie doesn't know about this one.
So, Jamie.
Yeah.
I'm going to put you in the private chat.
Don't read the private chat.
I'm going to put my answer.
Jamie, you put your answer.
Has Dan seen Lord of the Rings?
All right.
I got my answer here.
I'll just do the opposite.
It's fine.
Okay.
Jamie does the opposite.
Dan, have you seen Lord of the Rings?
So, this will be a technicality.
It'll be up to the judges to decide.
I've seen scenes from Lord of the Rings.
I've seen stretches of 20 or 30 minutes, but I've never seen a full movie from start to finish.
Oh, Sam decides.
Sam, was that yes or no?
That's a no.
Yeah.
You got to see the whole movie for it to be.
Respect.
All right.
So, it's what?
Two to one?
Yeah.
Dan, can you.
You phrased the question wrong though.
Can you name anyone on The View?
Of course not.
Of course not.
Wait, wait.
Hold on.
I could guess Michael Strahan.
Is that his show or no?
No.
Okay.
Then, I can probably guess The View.
It's one of these talk shows that I've never watched or put any time or thought into at
any point in my life.
I really hope this is not a CBS show that you're asking me about.
It's not.
Thank God.
Is it Michael Strahan?
Yeah.
Is it Nate Burleson?
No.
He's part of our.
I don't know.
I got nothing here.
Regis Philbin?
No.
It's not Regis.
Is that his one with the Kathy Lee or something?
Whatever her name is?
Unfortunately, Regis Philbin died six years ago.
I'm sorry.
He's not on.
R.I.P.
Regis Philbin.
Whoopi Goldberg is on The View.
No.
No shot.
All right.
So, technically, you win, Adam.
Three to one, right?
Three nothing.
Three nothing?
I still need you guys both to decide on a movie I need to watch next.
I didn't think he'd know who Whoopi Goldberg was.
Yeah, but that wasn't one of the bets.
Okay.
Yeah, I told you.
I know Whoopi Goldberg.
Watch Braveheart.
But it has to be something Jamie also thinks I should watch next.
Jamie?
What?
What movie should I watch?
I need a movie to watch.
Oh, no.
I agree.
Braveheart.
Go watch Braveheart.
All right.
Braveheart.
Sounds good.
All right.
We're going to read some emails in a bit.
We don't have a ton of news yet.
Brees Hall is questionable.
Caleb Douglas and Jalen Wright are going to play for the Dolphins this week.
Adonai Mitchell is going to play.
All right.
So, that's actually.
Wow.
Jamie, what do you think about that?
That's big news.
As Omar Cooper Jr. was a big guy for you on the waiver wire.
Now, Adonai Mitchell back this week.
Yeah.
I think just even if Mitchell was not going to play, I think he just stashed.
And remember, Dolphins just don't give up a lot of production to wide receivers.
And Garrett Wilson is not going to have two straight games where he's going to be limited
like this.
So, I would just stash Cooper.
It's very similar to Jeremy Bernard last week.
You know, with Roman Wilson and Michael Pittman out, when those guys come back, it's going
to be a problem.
I think Cooper is just too good to completely limit his production or the upside of him
is too good.
To limit his production.
So, well, Adonai Mitchell will probably be the sacrificial X.
I think Cooper will end up playing some, getting some opportunities.
So, don't play him this week, but keep him on your bench.
Don't cut him.
If he has a bad game.
Okay.
We'll be right back with your emails at fantasyfootballatcbsi.com.
And yes, the view is an all-female cast.
And Dan just named men on talk shows.
I don't know.
I don't know talks.
I named one guy.
You named Nate Burleson and Michael Strahan.
Wow.
That was just scratching.
Scratching.
And clawing like the cats in your house at your socks.
All right.
We'll be back after this on Fantasy Football today.

This is from G
from a city north of Raleigh,
North Carolina.
Dan?
North of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Asheville?
Sure.
Says, hey, Gregory, Jacob.
People love Carolina, by the way.
I have some reverence in my heart.
I want to visit Carolina,
all of it.
You've been there or no?
No, I've never been.
I want to see Raleigh.
I want to see Asheville.
People say this is like
the up and coming great state.
Okay.
Dear Gregory,
Jacob and Johnson.
Gregory, Jacob and Johnson
from Carolina?
No, not necessarily.
Absolutely no idea who this is.
Thinking like basketball players
from North Carolina,
but I don't know.
Abbott Elementary?
I haven't seen that show.
I've heard it's good, though.
Okay.
Which wide receiver,
in PPR,
are you lowest on
rest of season
and is the best one
to trade away?
Okay.
Nico Collins,
Matthew Golden,
Jalen Coker,
T. Higgins,
Parker Washington.
Wow.
That's a stacked,
stacked wide receiver corpse.
He obviously would be looking
to trade one away
given probably the settings.
No, it's not corpse.
The S is,
the E and the S.
Core, yeah, the S is,
the P is signed.
I've gotten that wrong
for about six years running now.
Anyone who listens
to Big Blue Banter
would know about that.
Such an issue for me.
Keep saying corpse
even though I know it's a core.
The one I would probably
try and trade would be Nico.
Me too.
Because there's still
a lot of value here.
Because of the injury history?
Jamie?
Go ahead, Jamie.
No, there's still
a lot of value here
and I mean,
I think he's still
going to be awesome,
but you know,
you have now Tank Dell
thrown in with Marvin Harrison
and CJ Stroud's playing amazing,
but you know,
there could be a,
I don't think so,
but a pitfall coming.
So I would try
to maximize his value
still while it's at its best.
I would be trying
to trade Jalen Coker.
Not that I don't believe
in him from a talent standpoint.
I'm not sure I'd buy
into Bryce Young
in that passing game
playing at the level
they've played at
for these first six weeks.
Question from the chat.
Does Dan know
what CBS stands for?
All right, let's bet.
Hold on.
Double or nothing?
Double or nothing?
This is tough.
There's no way Dan knows.
It's very clear.
I think I got a good guess.
I never get a chance
to say first,
so this doesn't really.
Okay, you're going to say no.
I'm not taking the opposite.
I'm taking no.
There's no bet on this one.
All right, no bet.
Yeah, you can have no bets.
I'm going to go with,
this is a guess
that first came to my mind,
Central Broadcasting Station.
No.
It's weird, though.
It's Columbia Broadcasting System,
I believe, right?
Don't hate it, I guess.
Don't hate it, yeah.
Columbia Broadcasting System.
I truthfully don't know
the origin of that.
I'm guessing from Columbia, New York,
probably somewhere around there.
Columbia Records, maybe?
I don't know.
Back to the email.
Sorry.
NCFootball at CBSi.com.
This is a trade from Crosby.
I got offered Jalen Coker
and Chase Brown.
I would give up
Zay Flowers and Jordan Mason.
So give up Coker and Chase Brown.
No, give up Zay Flowers
and Jordan Mason.
Get Coker and Chase Brown.
Yes.
I think you got to do that.
I just think that,
you know,
the big question this year,
who is this year's JSN?
Who is this year's JSN?
Pretty clear that with Lamar
Jackson on the field so far,
it's been Zay Flowers.
So I'm not saying
that's going to continue.
I think it probably will
to some degree, but. I forget the number now, Adam.
I think, did you remember it?
Jacob said it on our Monday show.
I think together,
Lamar Jackson and Flowers
have had 48 routes.
There's either 46 or 48 routes
together or snaps, past snaps.
You son of a. I am almost going to curse.
Why?
Because. Was that your stat?
This is my stat.
Oh, sorry.
Sorry, I thought it was Jacob.
No, no, say it, say it.
I forgot what it was,
but yeah, keep going.
I mean, the reality is
the net-net of this stat is
Flowers and Lamar
have been unbelievable,
like unreal together
when on the field,
and Adam's going to have to
grow out a pretty big beard.
It's something like
60 fantasy points
on the 48 routes
or something like that.
And Adam, get ready
to grow that beard out.
Yeah, I'm already,
I'm already ready already.
Not like Devante Smith's
going to get there.
Okay, this is from Jared.
I have Kittle and. What a bad bet that was.
I'm thinking of trading
likely for DJ Moore.
He has Kittle and likely.
Would you do that?
It's non-PPR.
That's too low
for selling likely.
That's way too low.
All right, but it's not the,
if you can't make it happen,
it's not the. It seems like it's a situation
where it's shallow league,
not a lot of tight end starts,
so you're not really getting
good offers back for likely
despite him starting hot.
I like the idea of selling
likely somewhat high.
They had an easy schedule
of Giants with a stretch.
Jameis was most of his production.
All that's good and checks out,
but like DJ Moore right now,
all we've seen from DJ Moore
is bad so far.
He's been injured the entire year.
No, I don't agree.
He's been good
when he's been on the field.
Has he?
Yes.
He had 100 yards
against the Texans.
That's it, right?
He had six for 67
against the Chargers
on 10 targets.
That's not great,
but I can live with that.
He's been better than A.J. Brown.
Just to circle back
because I looked it up
while you guys were talking.
Do you know who was better
in week one?
Jalen Coker or Zay Flowers?
Oh, was it Coker?
Flowers played a half.
He left at halftime.
That's fair.
Yeah, that's fair.
Yeah, Flowers,
when he's on the field,
is phenomenal.
Also, we gave a lot of advice
out this week
on Beyond the Box score
about buying low on A.J. Brown.
I feel totally off
on all of that advice now
having watched last night's game.
Do you guys feel
what I felt watching that?
That A.J. Brown
looked insanely slow
and definitely not healthy?
No.
I wouldn't say insanely slow.
He looked slower
than historically.
Those vertical routes
were crazy bad.
He was,
the defender was,
step for step
with every single one of them.
I felt that he looked,
he looked slow.
Look,
I could be wrong about this.
I felt he looked slower
than he did on Sunday.
The week before, right?
I know.
I didn't know what that was.
That was the weird part
because I watched that game
and I looked fine.
Right.
That's how I felt.
I don't know,
but it's just a theory.
And I said it
on this morning show,
Friday morning show.
He played,
he comes back
from a high ankle sprain,
plays almost every snap
on Sunday,
then has a short week,
Right.
Maybe it's just a lot for him.
Yeah, that's fine.
It's kind of like
just a prayer at this point.
I'll say this though.
I still rescind.
I do not want to buy him
right now,
personally.
You do not?
Okay.
No.
I was thinking of trading for him.
I'm out on that now.
I'll just let somebody else
have that headache
for the year.
Okay.
By the way,
45 routes for Zay Flowers
and Lamar Jackson.
45 routes,
which is about,
it's a lot for one game,
but there will be,
about eight wide receivers
a week that could get that
or something.
He has,
in one,
roughly one game,
1.5 quarters worth of routes,
16 catches,
353 yards,
and two touchdowns.
That was the stat, yeah.
353 yards.
It's insane.
Yeah.
They look so good
when they're on the field together.
Let's see,
from,
from Paul.
You could actually
pull ahead in the bet though, right?
If Smith has a big game this week?
Yeah, I could.
It's total yards or it's per game?
I forget.
It's fantasy points.
Points per game, though, or points total?
Both.
Both.
How does that work?
What if you split?
You have to win both, or the bets.
Oh, interesting.
All right.
Then you have a shot.
Let's go back to it here.
I'm sorry.
I've been way too distracted today.
This is from Paul.
Should I play it safe with Kendri Miller or roll the dice with Brees Hall?
You know, because Kendri Miller is at 9.30 a.m.
Oh.
You'll know.
Yeah, you'll know.
Yeah, we'll probably have.
But if you don't, let's say you don't, I would play Kendri Miller.
If you don't have anything.
Is there anybody else you could find, like Bam Knight, who plays later?
Right.
All right.
This is from Michael.
Rank these receivers rest of season.
Remember, the Saints go into their bye next week.
So if you have no need for Kendri Miller, there's a good chance Travization can return
week nine.
Luther Burden, George Pickens, Jamison Williams, Rasheed Rice, T. Higgins.
Wow, that's tough.
The only easy thing here for me is that Jamo's last.
Yeah, Jamo's last.
Burden, Pickens, Jamo, Rasheed Rice, T. Higgins.
I agree with you right now, but what if Jamo has another good game and Pickens doesn't?
I still think he's last.
Jamo's not last for me.
I think Rice is actually last for me, for sure.
Obviously, he could come back.
He could do some stuff when he's healthy, but I just haven't liked what I've seen from
Rice at all at any point this year, and the role is just not what it was in the past.
Who's first?
Maybe.
Burden, Pickens, Higgins.
Burden's first for me, actually.
Or Higgins or Burden is first for me.
I go Higgins, Burden, Higgins.
You know what, though?
This Cole Komet injury could be big for fantasy, and we're not.
Just given what the Bears now have the opportunity to do, so they can either start to put more
12 personnel with Sam Roush out there, but he's a rookie from Stanford, and I don't know
for sure if they feel comfortable with him knowing all the assignments, being out there
for a lot of snaps.
So if they don't, then they're pretty much just going to go 11 a lot of the way, and
then Burden's going to have a lot more snaps.
He's done all this production despite pretty low.
Very low snap shares.
So if you think of it like that, Burden clearly has the highest ceiling of this group.
All right.
I still take Higgins.
Yeah, those are the two best.
Question from Tyler.
Oh, Tyler has a question about who players with good fantasy playoff schedules, and I'm
going to do that on Wednesday's show.
Nice.
We'll be ready to do it.
We'll take a look.
It'll be a little early.
That's a great exercise, though, for trading.
I'll be looking forward to that episode.
Speaking of exercises, you see me on the Peloton?
This week?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
I saw you on the Peloton.
You look like, you know, the whole time what I was thinking, because you were kind of struggling
up there.
No offense.
Oh, I'll tell you why.
But go ahead.
Yeah.
Like watching you versus Kyle.
It was like, Kyle's fine.
And for some reason, you're just having a near heart attack on it.
I was thinking the whole time, though, like, imagine me up there.
I would be done.
Like, I would last like a half a second up there, especially if you had if we had pizza
time before that.
I'm sorry to bring it back up.
I'm sorry to bring bad memories back for Jamie and myself.
And I'm sorry to drag it again on air.
But my God, is that a bad pizza spot?
Unbelievably bad.
Stop with that crap.
But no, what happened to me?
It's true.
I was doing the Peloton and doing starter sit on NFL play action.
And Ali Love, who's a Peloton instructor, pretty famous one.
She's running it.
And I'm Kyle and I are biking.
And first of all, I'm speaking the whole time.
Kyle Brand isn't.
But for whatever reason, the resistance.
It goes from zero to 100.
She'd be like, I put the resistance up to 60 or whatever.
It kept going to 100.
Oh, you're at a broken bike.
You didn't spin it the right way.
No, I did.
I spun it too much or I don't know what happened.
But every time I look down, it's at 100.
And that was really hard.
So you had a broken bike.
I did not have a broken bike.
I don't know what happened.
I thought maybe you got to turn it the right way.
Is it a big conspiracy to get Adam?
Like, this is like a rig Peloton conspiracy.
To no one's surprise, I've never used a Peloton in my life.
So.
I don't know how this works, but.
That was my first time, I think.
You got screwed.
It was like banking to 100 every.
Honestly, when you first started that little.
I don't want to.
I don't know what to call it.
But like, I guess like an excuse is what we can probably call that.
When you started that whole excuse rant right there.
I really thought when you said, Hallie, it was going to be another thing.
We're like, your wife is at some problem that led to you not being able to do something.
A big call.
A big phone call.
Yeah.
I was doing it on the highest resistance.
It's basically the whole segment was crazy.
It was a lot of fun.
But you did good.
Honestly, I thought you did good.
The segment was fun.
I thought it was funny.
I didn't even know how that came together.
Where was that?
New York?
Bro, that's that's in the old.
You don't know.
Total Request Live TRL.
Do you?
Carson Day?
No.
Oh, no.
I've heard of that old TRL studio in Times Square.
It is the most incredible set.
It looks amazing.
I love.
I love doing it.
I actually do remember TRL.
Yeah.
You see Times Square outside.
It's really cool.
Anyway, this is from this is from Dick.
Trying to set aside my bias as a Packers fan.
Am I crazy to trade away Matthew Golden for DeAndre Swift?
Interesting.
Pretty fair deal.
Yeah, I think that's pretty straight up fair deal.
It's like the McMillan Javante deal.
Like they're just that's fair.
I don't think it's crazy.
Chris wants us to sit one.
I always think you're done and then you just keep going.
All right.
Sit one.
Blake Corum, Bucky Irving, Woody Marks, Jordan Mason.
Corum.
Corum.
It's easy.
And Chris says it's not easy if you think Mason's going to have not have a big week back.
But I do.
Thanks.
You guys are as much of a role, if not more than Corum.
Well, yeah.
You guys are like, all right, forget it.
Sorry.
Go ahead.
Sorry.
Go ahead.
There's a lot going on here.
I just want to see if you've ever had lifesavers.
The candy.
Yeah, of course.
I've had lifesavers.
Look at me.
I eat candy.
I eat crap all day.
Slob.
Oh, yeah.
We asked this question last week.
Slob says the guy with holes.
And his socks.
And he's wearing a shirt with holes in it.
And just rolls into the.
Just yes or no.
Dan, just yes or no.
You like candy corns?
No.
That was symbolic.
That was a layup.
Strong no.
All right.
Disgusting candy.
From Wesley.
Adam, can Dan answer a yes or no question in just one word?
No.
No.
Strong no.
Wesley says, hey, Andy, Red, Brooks.
And Haywood.
Is that Shawshank?
Feels like a sports question.
We should know.
What's Shawshank?
Oh.
I have Shuck and I'm worried about the matchup and the weather.
Should I pivot to Geno Smith, Michael Pennix, Baker Mayfield, or Malik Willis from Shuck?
Geno for, um.
I'd go Pennix.
Pennix is interesting.
He's been so good.
I'm okay with Pennix or Geno.
I would definitely not play Shuck this week.
I think it's going to be a bad Shuck week.
Yeah.
I wouldn't be too worried about the weather.
Just yet, by the way.
Just don't think Shuck's playing good football.
He certainly didn't last week or the week before.
From Lewis.
I need a running back and a flex.
I've got Emanuel Wilson, Roshan Johnson, sorry, Christian Kirk, and Jonah Coleman.
So if you have Emanuel Wilson, Christian Kirk, and Jonah Coleman, pick two.
Oh, and Bam Knight is still available on waivers.
I don't think you could trust Coleman, so I would probably go with Kirk and Wilson.
I would go with Kirk.
He's a flyer, and I would look to the waiver wire.
I think it's going to be a bad week for Wilson against KC.
I would not want that in my lineup.
I think you could pivot.
So I would go Bam Knight if you can get Bam Knight.
I think there's other flyers.
There's other flyers, too, that you could consider as well.
If it doesn't have to be a running back, then yeah, there are plenty of receivers you could look at.
That's what I'd be at.
And this is from Matthew is our last one.
Give me a flex in PPR.
Kendrick Bourne, Marvin Harrison Jr., Zach Charbonnet, Kendri Miller, and it's not going to be Damian Pierce.
So Kendrick Bourne.
Marvin Harrison Jr., Charbonnet, Kendri Miller, PPR.
Just one?
I know who Dan's going with.
I don't think you know who I'm going with.
You're going with Marvin Harrison Jr.
Damn, you know who I'm going with.
There's only one?
Yeah, pick one.
I'd go Charbonnet.
Charbonnet's a safer play.
Harrison Jr.'s a locker room narrative play that I feel good about.
Ready for the fantasy cops?
Yes.
Let's see how many we can get.
Time for the cops, baby.
This is from Justin in Scranton.
Last week, I had a situation.
I had a situation where a trade was accepted three minutes after the Josh Jacobs news broke.
I offered Josh Jacobs for his lad, McConkie, and he accepted immediately after the news broke that Jacobs was coming back.
Now, my interpretation is that this offer had been, you know, out there for a while before the news broke.
So the offer was McConkie for Jacobs.
He accepted it once it was, you know, determined that Jacobs was coming back.
I had zero time to rescind the trade, and I was looking to receive something of value.
As we heard nothing about the Jacobs situation in the previous six weeks.
Please advise on what you think is fair in regards to reversing the trade or leaving it as is.
I asked the league commissioner to reverse the trade, and he said no.
So he offered Jacobs to get McConkie, and I guess it had been out there for a bit.
And then the McConkie manager, after the news broke, three minutes later, he accepts the trade.
He gets Jacobs.
He gives up McConkie.
And now the guy who traded for McConkie and gave up the trade.
Gave up Jacobs.
Wants it reversed.
No way.
Yeah, this is cut and dry.
No reversal.
Your fault.
And the fact that it was out there for a long time is actually your fault.
That doesn't help your case.
That hurts your case.
Manage your trades.
Don't leave them out there for a while.
Play fantasy.
Understand the game better.
It's my take.
It's not a bad trade either.
It's fine from that standpoint.
It's not good.
You would want to get more for Jacobs.
But that's your fault.
Rescind the trade.
You don't just leave trade offers out there for a while because this type of thing could happen.
Yeah, but I don't know.
I mean, okay.
Slightly different.
to take, surprise, surprise.
a like if a trade is accepted like three weeks later or something and people sometimes they
just forget people forget it no you but but that's on you that's on you dude but with this
particular one you knew there was always this possibility that news on josh jacobs was gonna
break like so then you don't have offers out there with jacobs in it that's i'm saying even if i even
if i wanted to give some leniency on a guy forgetting in the josh jacobs case i don't have
any leniency like that's part of no leniency that's part of offering josh jacobs so i'm sorry
no leniency in any regard for that if if your theory is correct that the trade offer was out
there for a while how would the person receiving mcconkie feel if he accepted the trade after
mcconkie was injured and then we found out that he's going to be out for right yeah would he want
that rescinded right now we're opening the door to subjectivity and i can rescind this i can rescind
that terrible yeah by the way dan that might be one of your worst takes out no i i agree with you
dumbass
but oh
here we go
it's a bad take you're right also our producer sam davis thinks that you have not seen shawshank
redemption i've seen shawshank redemption oh you just didn't know the names okay yeah i just didn't
know the names but i remember now andy i do remember it once what's andy's last what's andy's
last name warburg i don't know too afraid i don't know the movie that well all right this is from
dr jones dr jones says hold on let me start the music over here
here allan carl jim and gary
oh i knew it was all people leaders damn it oh all right way before my time i'm the fantasy
commissioner of my work league and a fellow manager and i disagree on how i handled a deadbeat
oh i'm sorry i am the fantasy commissioner of my work league and a fellow manager and i disagree
on how i handled the deadbeat manager at the end of week four i noticed the manager was playing
drew lock at superflex instead of a viable player and he lost by two points had he started any other
player he would have won going into week five i watched to see if this was a fluke sure enough
no movement and they were starting two players drew lock and jaylen coker who was on a buy
since this manager was playing me i set my lineup and then i set his lineup to beat mine using jamie's
week five rankings i figured i would set a precedent versus me that he was going to go ahead
and the commissioner was going to set the lineup of this inactive manager i then went to work i
then was work on finding a potential replacement and let the deadbeat manager know that they needed
to re-engage in the league the manager did not so once again i set that manager's lineup but i made
no waiver additions this resulted in a starting lineup um blah blah blah with joe burrow at qb
instead of drew lock and the result of week six was that the deadbeat manager won and he handed
the 10th place team a loss and uh and by the way i'm sorry i'm sorry i'm sorry i'm sorry i'm sorry
that team that loss is now very upset and saying as the acting commissioner i should not be editing
non-participating managers lineups and he should get his win back because he would have won
if this commissioner didn't put joe burrow in the lineup so again that was a little i didn't read it
very well he starts uh in going into week five he edits the uh inactive manager's roster when
he's facing him and he gives himself a loss because he edited the guy's lineup and then he
does it again in week six and the team that lost to the inactive manager in week six because the
commissioner said his lineup is this is angry and wants wants to win what do you guys think
jamie first so if he had done it for week four when he first noticed it
and or assuming it was week four then he would have had to do it week four
he knows at the end of week four end of it yeah yes i didn't really specify when that but he
he noticed in week four um he's trying to rectify it in week five i appreciate that the commissioner
is trying to make it a more competitive league he's trying to find a replacement option for the
the deadbeat manager etc etc this has to start in week one if you notice this and if you're going to
do this you're going to say it to the league listen this person is not an active participant
i am trying to replace him to take over from this point forward i am going to to make it fair and i
don't love this but i think the only way to do it i'm going to retroactively set his lineup from
week one through week whatever and allow all of the potential no way removes no nothing to to stand
if he's going to do it okay if he's going to do it but since he did not do it since he did not do it
from the beginning you have to let it go and allow all the stupid mistakes to continue now adam you
don't just get to that it's not a bad take by jamie considering the circumstances obviously
though for me if you've heard me on the show you probably know i'm going to say i'm completely out
of line at any point i'm okay with the commissioner texting after a week to a manager that's inactive
and saying hey man look this week you had drew lock in your lineup you gotta try to put active
guys moving forward we're trying to have a competitive fun league you're hurting the
competitive balance and then hopefully that guy takes it seriously if he doesn't you know where
i stand he's kicked out of the league he's gone you want to have a fun sounds like you did that
oh this guy did get trying to find a replacement yeah yeah yeah in season it's going to be tough
and then so how do you fix it in season that's a good question um
i honestly don't hate jamie's idea because i think if you're going to do it one week it has to be for
all the week can i just say i don't get the impression that this manager was inactive
each of the first three weeks i think it probably started and that does happen right some people
because he put in lock at some point yeah some people lose interest super early but in three
weeks he gave us real lineups it this is a really tough honestly this is a tough decision um it does
happen a lot i've always taken the approach as commissioner of just like look this guy's not
i'm not gonna i'm not gonna interfere with it every week it just kind of is what it is i know
that's how you that's the that's the that's the easiest way to do it but i'm just saying if he was
going to try and be fair and wreck and and do it against himself and he actually did that then he's
got to do it consistently throughout the entire part of the season he's got to be consistent with
it now there is an easy way to do this i don't know if this is the case on every other site
we have a button on cbs that just says optimal lineup uh makes it easy for people that don't
pay attention you just push the button to set your lineup based on projections and it's done yeah um
you're not exactly you're not spending more than 10 seconds of just opening the page hit the button
close it um i would if if i was going to do this myself i would just say hey everybody's getting a
win if it works out that way if not it's just his lineup is set for what he left it and that's what
it is yeah yeah thank you all right we'll be back uh but i do appreciate that the commissioner's
trying i mean we got to give that guy credit yeah absolutely absolutely sorry you've been
put in a tough spot thankless job we'll be back after this on fantasy football today

back here with some fantasy cops and this one is from jeremy and he says okay
all right that's it better get this dan that was dan doing the horrible singing about me
greetings robert jimmy john and john paul uh these are beetles no these are led zeppelin led zeppelin
yes all right please settle this dispute in my highly competitive highly dramatic league
you
this season we've instituted a rule in which you can declare a bench substitute for a questionable
starting player in the event that the player is a late scratch it's
a great help to the league mates who have busy lives and may not have time to swap last minute
scratches the substitute bench player must be announced to the league prior to kickoff on
sunday we've had no issues with this rule until week six where my opponent left quinshawn judkins
in his starting lineup and did not announce his desired substitute until 1 11 p.m eastern on
sunday our commissioner swiftly rejected the request the requested substitute was rashad white
and if it had been allowed i would have lost my match up to him on monday night football
what do we think also i texted my opponent during thursday night football questioning why he didn't
start jk dobbins over judkins as judkins was likely to be ruled out by sunday he replied quote
i'll play rashad white if judkins doesn't go
so
you
got the intention but he didn't get it in until 1 11 p.m what do you let it go what
it should be allowed come on i don't think so we've gone past the point of like i i can give
advice here i'll do my best because this is such a subjective thing now right like you i do feel
like you set the standard though like you gotta say it you have to put it out there right like
that's the rule the rule is you have to you gotta say it to the whole league before kickoff
with that said i'm open to this idea more than you'd think like i kind of hate in fantasy even
like i'm open to like early you know like the the gambling sites offer you like the injury
protection if your guy gets out in the first quarter or whatever like error the first try i
don't know what it actually is you can like get your bet back or you take that leg off the parlay
i'm open to the idea of like changing fantasy in a big way and allowing these like early game
injuries to be substituted out i mean i got generally speaking i'm more open than and
then ever to best ball because of this or like some kind of format change i think there's been
a lot of matchups this year in fantasy that have been decided by early first quarter injuries so
oh yeah i completely agree so you agree with me it was two to one dan that this should not the
substitute should not be allowed they should not be allowed based on what they the standard is set
also dan it's oh no i love that he's just like making random noise that's what they did i always
wondered like does he meet you like
hey i'm jeremy vetter nice to meet you oh he doesn't say that because his name is eddie vetter
oh eddie vetter yeah
i need you guys to talk because i have to cue something up this is not the first time dan has
done his eddie vetter and i have an old sound bite so i got a good vetter it doesn't sound
good on air but in live it's better um jamie how you doing today buddy so dan when you saw his uh
his hole in his shirt what did you think the hole in the shirt was more appalling to me than the hole
in the sock everybody's had a hole in the side maybe you wake up you forgot and nothing's left
you know sock day you gotta gotta buy new socks or do laundry but the hole in the shirt i mean that
just was appalling to say the least especially from someone who had passed this called me a
slob has called me countless names all fair that people aren't privy to oh here we go i think it's
the way apparently we need it we didn't take a second commercial did we yeah we did oh it's not
that it's this
uh i can't find it i can't find it i'm sorry all right one last fantasy cops here
uh hold on be right with you there we go
thank you
let's see which one are we gonna do here
i'm gonna do they're gonna do them all no it's too late
oh too late what's wrong with you
all right what do you think about this this is from uh from across the pond okay dan from
whole england from where whole england hula oh wow five years running turn the music off
with friends turn the music off well it's too loud we can't hear you yeah we can't hear you
dude all right dan from england 10 team ppr league josh jacobs was dropped on october 17th
and became available on waivers
the highest bid was sixty five dollars but the app rejected it with the message
roster slot is reserved due to a pending trade as a result jacobs was awarded to the next highest
bidder for sixty one dollars this platform's rules give some information about why a bid might be
blocked but based on what i can see and the information shared by the manager who placed
the sixty five dollar bid i couldn't see an obvious reason why the bid should have been rejected
um his ir players were still in ir eligible slots the pending trade was a two dollar bid
two for two deal but i think i may have spotted the explanation the manager may have attempted to
trade davante adams before moving him to ir and he then moved adams to ir and tried to claim jacobs
using the newly freed roster spot my theory is that if the pending trade had gone through he
might have exceeded his bench limit i wanted to handle this fairly and avoid any accusations of
commissioner bias because he's the one by the way the commissioner here is the one who got sixty one
dollar bid for sixty one so
and he's the commissioner so what should be done here there was some weird technicality the sixty
five dollar bid didn't go through he thinks because josh jacobs was involved in a trade
offer and not put in ir and then he was put in ir and blah blah blah so who should get it the sixty
five dollar bid or the sixty one dollar bid sixty five yeah i think so too i think it's just a stupid
technicality from the site um as dan quiner or choiner says in the chat this is similar to dan's
that i made over he's preseason roster limits i have not being able to draft another fantasy
cops to end it with uh and this one is i don't know who this is never thought i'd have to use
the fantasy cops but this seems silly not to mention there were two trades that i shot down
due to collusion with various effects in our 12 team ppr flex and super flex leagues the first
was rj harvey for dak prescott not the worst trade ever but the guy giving up dak had mentioned
how he didn't care about the league anymore he didn't change his lineup this week and he kept
lamar in so why is he making trades as such as i decided to veto the trade and talk of replacing
the manager so then the other manager dropped all of his players in protest anyway what would
you have done there trade gets made rj harvey for dak prescott the guy who traded dak said he
didn't care about the league anymore wasn't setting a competitive lineup yeah this is
collusion so it's a form of collusion i guess um i don't know if it's technically collusion
because i mean we don't know if that match or greed but it's not collusion so maybe i have a
new i'm open to a new way for vetoing i used to be collusion only i'm open to if you have and i'm
not used to this but if you play in these leagues with these like baby quitters that just like quit
on the year it's week three week four they've already given up and they've made any kind of
comment that leads you to believe that they have quit then i'm now open to quitting vetoing i've
never heard it like i don't play in these leagues i do feel bad for this and now based on all the
fantasy cop submissions we've had i think we need to think of as cops as those three like a solution
in fantasy for like these leagues where people are just quitting early like maybe like what we
talked about on the last fantasy cops like you have like a projection based starting lineup
i don't know what you do but like the solution is definitely not just let this guy who said
i don't care anymore on my team i quit like trade harvey i trade dak for harvey you don't let them
you do not let them make trades i don't do anything about it because like let's say
dan and i are you know fighting for a playoff spot and dan plays a team that has quit and
doesn't set a lineup right and then the next week the commissioner kicks that guy out of the league
right finds a replacement and all of a sudden they set a lineup and i lose i'm i don't like that so
i don't so basically what you're saying as you agree with jamie's logic from earlier that you
poo-pooed on and and took a crap on and i really should use the other word based on what you said
earlier about me said to me which is if you're going to do it you have to do it retroactively
you can't let the three weeks go by with the bad manager and then change just wouldn't change it i
would just let it keep going no i i just bad news the problem with going retroactively
was in that case i don't think the guy was was inactive for week one but uh anyway no but you
got to do it from the moment that he wasn't active which that's why i was asking week four so like
from week four on if you're going to make the change you got to make it from every week that
there was seemingly uh yeah a uh unusable lineup or whatever you want to phrase it and just do that
or it just has to be you're you're letting it go just just whatever you do consistently all right
but let's get to the second part of this because this is the other trade that was vetoed the other
between a new player who's playing for the first time i appointed this is so stupid i appointed
another player to review all of his trades
such a bad idea but that player decided to trade with the new guy
the new player didn't really know the trade so i struck it down for a collusion i told him that
the trade would be fine normally but because this is a new player i can't have the overseer
trade to himself in essence
what is the question like what do we do so like two so dan and i are in a league i've never played
before dan is overseeing my trades to help me out and then we make a trade together but but
apparently the trade was fine he said it would have been fine if they weren't you know overseeing
it well should this trade go through or not no i got no idea man this is a wacky league we got to
figure this thing out guys two wacky leagues bro if you think it's a fair trade why not jamie
is it a fair trade that's what he said he said uh i told him that the trade would be fine normally
because this is a new player i can't have the overseer trade to himself in
essence. But who is the trade?
I don't know. He didn't put it in there.
I mean, it's a fair
trade. If it's fair, then fine.
I mean, then
we're judging what's a fair trade, what's not fair
trade. Yeah, but you've now decided
to appoint a third party to
oversee it. It's not a third party. He's
part of the league.
It's a conflict of interest completely.
I'm sorry.
I don't know what to say.
This league needs fantasy psychology,
not fantasy. Yeah, it doesn't need fantasy
cops. It needs a lot more.
I can't believe I got rid
of the, hey, I'm Eddie Vedder
thing from Dave. All right, well, thank you all
very much for your
comments. Let's get to
Spotify here.
Woody Marks or
Ashton Gentry and
Burrow or Purdy?
Two fun ones.
I'm going to go
Purdy on the quarterback
situation, on the quarterback spot.
Gentry, for sure, if
Washington
is out.
That's a good point. It's pretty close
if Washington
is in. I'd probably still lean Gentry just because the match
was good. I'm fine with that.
I think we went over this on
something like 18 targets
over the last three weeks for Gentry or something in that
range. Good roll in the passing.
I'm okay with that. Gives a nice floor.
I traded Josh Jacobs for Chase Brown. What are your
thoughts?
We went over this on the Monday show, didn't we?
Yeah. That was so long ago.
You got blasted.
You got blasted.
I got blasted for what?
It was a 77%
in the chat. Your side got
24%. Jacob and my side
got 77%. I said Jacobs?
You did. Are you sure?
I'd rather have Brown here. You might have not.
You might have just, what's it called?
Devil's Advocate. I think that's kind of what I was
doing. You'd rather have Chase Brown.
I guess I would honestly say that if I
knew Josh Jacobs was going to play
for the rest of the season,
I think I probably
would take Jacobs.
Yeah, I guess there is still a chance
he won't. There absolutely is.
Yeah, if that video surfaces. I don't know.
But I think I'm probably
a little more worried about Chase Brown than you guys are.
I hope I'm wrong, obviously. Yeah, I'm not
as worried. That's a big factor.
Would you give T. Higgins for. Baker practicing
as normal again today. Wow.
I did not expect him to play this week. That's
a big change. Would you give T. Higgins
for Basil Tootin?
Yes. I love Tootin, but
it's probably a no from most people, I would say.
It's a fair deal. You're getting a
player that is trending
up versus a guy that's very good.
As Jamie said earlier this week, you have to
overpay sometimes for running backs.
There just aren't that many good ones. Yes. That's
100% true. I know
you guys did this earlier in the midweek.
It's kind of crazy this week how dry
running back is after like 13 or 14
guys. It's terrible. It's bad.
I got offered Justin
Jefferson for my Christian Watson.
Wow. I think
Justin Jefferson for Christian Watson?
I think that's a yes for me.
I'd rather have Jefferson, yeah. Same.
Should I drop
Emmanuel Wilson to pick up Emmett Johnson
for an upside stash?
I would, yes.
I deem Johnson to be the
single best stash you can have in fantasy football.
Who is it? I'm sorry?
Emmanuel Wilson. Drop
Emmanuel Wilson. Pick up Emmett Johnson. 10-team
PPR. Yeah, I keep
seeing the same players getting
dropped in a lot of leagues, and I understand it because of
roster crunches. Emmett Johnson,
Kalen Black, Mike
Washington in some cases. These guys are
league winners if they get the jobs.
It's really
true. I shouldn't say league winners. They're must-start running
backs if they get the job. They're going to be at least in the top 20. Some of them could
be league winners. Emmett Johnson actually
looks when you watch him play like this could actually
be a league winner. Kalen Black looks explosive.
You know what these guys
have the potential to do.
If you're in your
leagues right now and you're
managing through, a lot of big-name players were
on bye in week six,
in week
five, we had two teams on a bye that were pretty
prominent. If you can sort of
manage through what you just went
through, or your injury situations are
not bad, don't hold on to
Emmanuel Wilson. Don't hold on to Kendra
Miller. Don't hold on to these guys that
you've already seen in
roles. Wilson was good, but you know
it's coming. Miller just hasn't done anything.
Drop those guys. Go
get Emmett Johnson. Go get
Kalen Black. Those guys could turn into
the lottery tickets that win your league. By the way,
Emeka Buka is practicing, but we just don't know
the question.
Okay, that's a good sign, though.
Aaron Johnson wants to know if
Seth McGowan is worth a stash
based on the. Same thing.
He's another one in that range
of the three guys Jamie mentioned. Not the same upside
because the offensive environment is terrible, but
still.
Okay, this is from Kyle.
Nope, this is from
Nammy
Nuck. I don't know. I've held Jordan
Tyson all year, and I just got offered
Ladd McConkie for Jordan Tyson. Should I
take that deal? In a heartbeat.
In an absolute heartbeat.
We don't know, A, when Tyson's
coming back. B, we don't know if it's a re-aggravation
immediately. He's had so many injuries
in his history, and he's going to be trying to play through
sort of another one again.
Okay, take McConkie.
It's an easy one for me.
All right, that's Spotify.
Let me pull up some Apple Podcast questions. I have seen
a lot. Make sure it's a five-star
reviewer. We won't read it. Hopefully they're still
there, because sometimes they just disappear.
Okay. It is weird
how they just. We've got to grade the trade.
Dear Dan, Jeremy,
Kevin, and Isaiah.
Oh, I think I know this.
I can't say I have any idea. Yeah, come on, Dan.
Dan, Jeremy, Kevin, and Isaiah.
Who's Dan, though?
Jeremy, Kevin, and Isaiah. Are these Giants tight ends?
Shockey, Boss, Blakely?
Oh, they are. No.
Who's Dan? Dan is Dan
Campbell. Dan Campbell.
Oh, I can't believe I missed this
one. Yeah, me too.
Damn it.
I did get the Dan, though, which was good.
By the way, name two movies
that Whoopi Goldberg's been in. Just curious
if you can do that.
Let's see.
Name one.
There was a movie
I've seen her in. It's like in New York City.
She's kind of like. No, it's like
something like a sister act or something.
There you go. She's like a nun or something,
right? Yeah. I've seen the one.
I haven't seen it, but I've seen scenes of the one
where she's a nun.
I don't think I have anything else.
Eddie?
You ever see that stupid movie?
Eddie? It's like a kid's movie about a basketball player.
Ghost. Yeah, Ghost is the
best one, I think.
No, Sister Act is the best one.
What is? Sister Act.
Sister Act? Yeah.
Okay. I haven't seen that movie in so long.
I've made about a dozen trades in my
12-team PPR league trying to assemble a super
team. I'm 4-2. I traded
with a 2-4 team.
I just traded
Trevor Lawrence, Parker Washington, and
Matthew Stafford. Wow.
Superflex, they said.
No, it doesn't say that. Lawrence, Parker
Washington, and Stafford
for Josh Allen,
Michael Penix, who's going to be starting for him
in a bye week. Okay.
He has Trevor Lawrence, so he's got the bye.
That's why he had Stafford. I traded Lawrence, Parker
Washington, and Stafford for Josh Allen,
Michael Penix, and Michael Wilson.
Essentially,
the trade is Lawrence and Washington for
Josh Allen and Michael Wilson.
But he had Stafford, you said?
He did have Stafford, but he traded him for Penix.
Both of those are just week 7, guys, with
Lawrence on a bye.
I'm confused.
Tell me the trade again, Lawrence. It's basically
just like Lawrence and Parker
Washington for Allen and Wilson.
Then there's a couple backup quarterbacks in.
If this is a one QB league, that's basically what the trade is.
It is. He has Lawrence and Parker Washington.
Picked up Matthew Stafford for this week.
He traded Lawrence, Washington,
and Stafford for Penix just for this
week. Josh Allen,
and Michael Wilson.
Again, it's like Parker Washington and Lawrence for Allen
and Wilson. Think of it like that. Now, I will also tell you
because it's a big downgrade of wide receiver.
He has
Olave, Golden,
and Jeremy Bernard.
I don't like it.
I also don't like this, by the way.
But I'm never really a big fan of upgrading
a quarterback in one QB leagues.
Even with Allen. Allen's the one
that might make me think twice, but not
losing Parker. Parker Washington's really legit.
Alright, this is from. TNW.
I like this question from the chat, too.
Dynasty contender. I just traded a late
second round pick for Ollie Gordon.
Grade that. And then
would you start Ollie Gordon or Jeremy Bernard
at flex this week in half PPR?
Jeremy Bernard for me.
And the trade. Late second round pick for
Ollie Gordon. So here's where I
stand on that. And I just made a
similar trade in Heath's Dynasty League. It was a
second, which I hope is going to be a late one because I'm
4-2 for Chuba Hopper, which is probably a little
bit better than Ollie. Much better.
Probably much better, but maybe you think
long-term, Ollie Gordon could be more of a thing. I don't know.
It's Dynasty. He's younger.
I am generally. What'd you say?
With HN healthy? No. True.
If HN comes back, fine.
From now playing Dynasty for the last
decade, probably straight, and I know you've been playing for
a while, Jamie. The more I play,
the more I lean into. Draft picks are
the most overrated thing in the world in Dynasty.
And rebuilding is the most overrated thing in the world in Dynasty.
When you tank and start to rebuild, you are never coming
back. You may get lucky to come back,
but you're putting yourself in a much worse position than
you think. The chances of you actually making
a comeback from a full rebuild are way
less than people think. And also, the value
of these draft picks is way over
inflated, in my opinion, based on playing
Dynasty. So I'm now looking to be,
generally speaking, a trade-your-picks
kind of guy. So come at me in any of the
Dynasty leagues we're in that we've auctioned off for
St. Jude. Come at me. I'll trade my
picks. I think the thing that you have to do
and get lucky, and I'm going to be in one of these situations on the wrong
side of it, is that I made a trade last
year where I was in contention,
to get John Upton-Taylor.
I traded Travion Henderson and two first-round picks for Taylor
and a second-round pick.
I don't remember what it was.
And my team has continually gotten worse since the trade.
It's just like bad luck?
Injuries, bad luck, players not performing well.
And so I'm going to be a middle-of-the-pack first round.
My pick is probably going to be middle-of-the-pack first round
if things just go the way that it continues to go.
So the person that I traded the first-round picks to
is going to benefit by getting a pretty standout player next year.
The thing that you're talking about typically that ends up happening is
you're getting late first-round picks for teams that are contenders.
And those don't always end up hitting
because we know just the variance of how these guys go,
picks 10, 11, 12, whatever the case may be.
You've got to get lucky.
Very lucky.
I think the way that you always want to try and trade if you can,
if you're trying to unload players, is you want to try and get –
I gave an example.
This didn't work out, but this is the type of trade I would try to do.
Chris Towers and I made a trade a few years ago,
I guess three years ago at this point.
I traded him.
I was in contention.
He was not.
Stefan Diggs, this was his Houston year.
Okay.
Stefan Diggs for Ricky Pearsall, who was injured.
I would much rather take a chance on a player that I've seen in Pearsall
with the hope that, okay, I see that this kid could be good.
Now, granted, it hasn't worked out, but you get the point.
I'd rather take a chance.
I'd rather take a chance on that young player than,
hey, I'm getting your 12th pick.
Right.
Right.
I mean, a lot of these late picks have been really bad, too,
and Dynasty's late ones have not worked out well, worthy.
Even the one that was expected to work out, Brian Thomas,
not working out well.
It's just not –
It's true.
All right.
Let's go back to some great trades here from Apple Podcast.
Trade Bucky Irvings and T. Higgins for Brees Hall and George Pickens.
Bucky Irvings.
Irvings and T. I like the Bucky side better.
I agree.
Me, too.
Trade Bucky and Burden for Nico Collins.
I have Kyron Hubbard, Jonathan Taylor, and Bucky.
So, Bucky and Burden for Nico Collins.
That's an interesting trade.
I think I might rather have the Bucky.
I would also rather have the Bucky side,
but I feel like that's a little bit more too hopeful from us, Jamie,
on the Bucky front, maybe.
Well, if you think that Burden and Nico are going to be close,
I would say from ranking and rest of the season,
there's probably five or six spots between them.
You might be right, yeah.
At minimum.
You're kind of just getting Bucky for free.
Yeah.
I think I like the Bucky side, too.
This one is from Killa Cam.
Receive Jamar Chase and Kalon Black.
Do you know?
Okay, I got a question.
Crazy Eyes Killa?
No.
Do either of you know who Killa Cam is?
No.
Okay.
It's Cameron.
But you've heard of Cameron, right?
The rapper, yeah.
No, I haven't.
You haven't, Adam?
You've never heard of Cameron, the rapper?
Well, he used to be called Killa Cam back in the days when he was with the DITC,
which was Big L and some of the guys that he came up with.
So he used to be called Killa Cam.
Now he's Cameron.
But you don't even know who Cameron is, so.
I don't know any of the words that you just said for the last 30 seconds.
I just have no idea.
Grade the trade from Killa Cam.
I receive Kalon Black and Jamar Chase.
I give Higgins, Jacobs, and Jadarian Price.
Sorry, what was it again?
Caleb Douglas is going to play this week.
Give Jacobs, Higgins, and Jadarian Price.
Get Jamar Chase and Kalon Black.
Jacobs, Higgins, Jadarian Price.
So it's Jacobs and Higgins for Chase, essentially.
Oh.
Yeah.
Yeah, I think I'd do that.
I think it's a classic upgrade trade.
Chase?
I'm just nervous about Jacobs, like what we're getting from him.
He's getting Chase.
He's giving up Chase.
That's what I'm saying, yeah.
And here's a trade from. My name isn't. Eric!
Didn't have a sound bite.
I traded my backup quarterback in Mahomes for Amarian Hampton.
What do you think?
Mahomes for Hampton?
Yeah.
But he doesn't need Mahomes.
I think that's worth it.
You know, you're taking a chance on hopefully maybe a coordinator change,
which I guess we would have heard of maybe by now.
But if you're never going to play Mahomes, why not?
Last one.
Who do I bench in a 10-team PPR league?
Olave, Christian Watson, Jalen Coker, T. Higgins, Jeremy Bernard.
You're only benching one?
Yeah.
Bernard.
Yeah, it's got to be Bernard.
Yeah, but it's full PPR?
Yeah.
What were the other options again?
Coker, Olave.
You can't.
Higgins.
Nah, you can't bench those guys.
Yeah, you got to bench Bernard.
Damn.
Oh, man.
I like Bernard this week.
Yeah, me too.
But that's 10-team leagues.
That's what the problem is.
Yep.
So here's a question from the chat.
Adam, Dan, and Jamie, what are your top four movies of all time, any genre?
I used to have a top three, and I don't really remember it right now
because it's changed.
Mine are easy.
I have to really think about mine.
Social Network, Now You See Me.
It's awesome.
Now You See Me.
It's just like a more recent one.
Dude, that makes it even funnier.
I know Braveheart is my favorite movie.
Terminator 2 has always been up there for me.
Such a random one.
I love Terminator 2.
Braveheart and Terminator 2?
When I was a kid, I saw Terminator 2 in theaters, and I was young.
I was like seven, and it just blew my mind because the special effects are still actually pretty cool.
But back then, it was amazing, and I just didn't know what – I'd never seen Terminator.
I don't even know if I had seen an Arnold movie at that point.
So just think of that experience for me.
It just opened up this world of action movies for me, and it's an incredible movie.
But I don't really have the answer.
I feel like the best way for me to answer this –
Your first movie and one of your favorites is an action movie, and you cannot get the fact that Tom Cruise is an action star through your head.
I feel like the best way to answer this is the one that we've seen the most because that technically –
I feel like that is proof based on the numbers that you like it the most.
So for me, that would be Pulp Fiction.
I've seen the most.
Rounders.
It would be up there for me, and I still stand by Rounders as a phenomenal movie with great actors in it and great plot.
I get it.
It's a little campy.
You have to like poker.
It's not a phenomenal movie.
You don't really have to like poker.
It's a phenomenal movie.
No, no, no.
Rounders is a phenomenal movie.
Pay that man his money.
When Edward Norton – the whole monologue trying to get Matt Damon to go back to the Taj and play poker, it's just awesome.
I guess you have to know poker and love poker.
It's fine.
So let's not put that one in there.
We can put Pulp Fiction, Goodfellas.
That's one of your favorite movies.
Why would you not put it in there?
It's your list, bud.
It's your list.
Goodfellas.
Goodfellas.
All right.
As you're listening, Sharon, our producer for CBS Sports Network, asked us this question Thursday.
If you can go back and watch any sporting event previously or current, but any sporting event in history or any athlete in history.
Keith had a great one.
He said Will Chamberlain's 100-point game.
Dave had the most innocent answer.
It's such a typical Dave answer.
He said he wanted to go something White Sox way, I think, when they won the World Series.
And he said, can I bring my dad?
Sharon was like, of course you can.
It's your made-up scenario.
I love that.
No, no.
But that's what I'm saying.
That's how Dave's just, you know, typical Dave.
Like, he's just another wrinkle to it.
Yeah, Dave, right.
Dave is very straightforward.
Yeah, that's a good one.
I don't get the question.
Like, do you get to relive it as if you don't know what's going to happen?
Or no?
No, just like you know it happened.
You know, so like Sharon said.
Like, if I could relive 07 Giants Super Bowl.
07 Giants Super Bowl versus Patriots, not knowing they were going to win that game.
I know.
I would relive that.
And I don't even care what I've missed before it.
I would just relive that.
My earliest, like one of my earliest sports memories, my favorite, because I, you know,
there was no baseball in South Florida.
It was the 86 Mets.
I grew up, I was a Mets fan.
Oh, wow.
As a kid.
And I remember just, I was 10, staying up watching that game, game six.
Yeah.
I think Miracle on Ice, the 07 Giants Super Bowl.
And for me, Hurricanes over Nebraska, 1990.
In 83, Orange Bowl.
I've seen video of that.
And it's like, I have always said, it looks like a frat party.
People are just going insane.
That's awesome.
So, but yeah, you'd have to not know the outcome.
That would have been really fun.
It's better, yeah, if you can go back and not know.
86 Mets is a great call.
I would love to see, since he was before my time, I would love to see Lawrence Taylor
play live.
I never got to see that.
And I just want to see what that was like off the edge.
When a time when it wasn't really like, they were inventing kind of these three, four linebackers
that are rushing the edge.
I just.
I just would have liked to see what that was like.
I remember watching the game live when he broke Joe Tyson's leg.
Yeah, like that type of, like, I don't want to see, I don't need to see that.
But like, just some of his other sick games, because that would be gross.
I don't want to see a broken leg.
Well, you know, you can't really tell he breaks legs.
Okay, good.
I just remember him pointing, you know, like.
Yeah.
Like, oh, you know what?
It's bad.
I didn't say it.
I think Miracle on Ice is the best answer here, because like, it's just.
For the best sports movie?
No, for the moment to go back to.
Oh, what you would want to, oh yeah.
Yeah, just.
Adam doesn't consider it a sports movie.
It's a coach movie.
By the way, are the current Miami Hurricanes the most overrated number one team ranked
in the nation in the history of college football?
I mean, you say that, but last week Georgia lost at home to like a three and four Auburn team.
No, I'm just saying that to mess with you.
But to squeak by Florida State is not great.
No, no.
The worst holding call I've ever seen in my life.
Actually, I saw another angle.
It wasn't as bad as it was.
Oh, stop it.
Oh, he saw another angle.
He shouldn't have been called.
He saw another angle.
No, he ripped him by the jersey and threw him down.
No, I mean, I don't think it was that bad of a call.
I did it first.
I'm trying to look for some questions here to end the show,
but I got to go.
Shaquan Barkley or Chase Brown?
Brown.
I'll go Barkley.
Wow.
Need a running back and a flex in full PPR.
Algier, Pierce, Pirine, Tracy, Wicks, Concepcion, or Mayer?
Holy cow.
Algier, Pierce, not Pierce.
Pierce, I think you got to start with, right?
Just based on the fact that you're guaranteeing the workload there
versus the rest of them, right?
No, Pierce is Barkley's replacement.
Pierce is Barkley's point.
Oh, Barkley's locked in.
I forgot.
I totally missed that.
So definitely not Pierce.
The running back for me would be Algier.
No.
Yeah, I agree with James.
What are you saying?
These are horrible choices.
No, yeah.
I was thinking maybe Pirine, but yeah, it's probably Algier, I guess.
I'd go Algier and Mayer.
Or maybe Concepcion.
Yeah, Algier and Concepcion.
I actually might go Algier and Tracy.
And then would you trade CeeDee Lamb and Chuba Hubbard for B.C.
John Robinson, Isaiah Likely?
That's it.
I don't think so.
CeeDee Lamb and Hubbard for B.C. John and Likely?
I don't think I'd do that at all.
So Lamb and B.C. John are first-round picks.
B.C. John's better, but not by much.
I like Lamb better.
Do you like Lamb better than B.C. John the rest of the season?
I didn't.
These last two weeks of B.C. John, don't then B.C. John me after these last two weeks, Adam.
Go watch the tape of that Bears-Falcons game.
He averaged seven yards per carry.
I know.
And how many fantasy points did he get out of that?
He got 24 points or something like that.
And the game was in the second half.
What does that mean?
He should be getting receptions if he's that valuable.
All right.
I don't know.
I think that's an anomaly not to—
The last week wasn't good before that either.
It's two bad weeks.
He's played four games with Michael Penix, and he has two targets in three of them.
So I did notice that.
That's good.
No, that's bad.
Yeah, that's my point.
It's a little bit of a red flag for B.C. John, but he had seven in the other.
He's still great.
I just don't know for sure if I think he's better than Lamb at this point.
I don't feel great about watching.
That Falcons offense against the Bears did not look great to me.
All right.
All right.
Don't do it then.
Okay, we'll talk to you—
But the other side of it is Hubbard is great.
Like, you can't—
Like, Hubbard is, at this point, what?
A top-what player overall for us?
You said on the show last week, Adam, he'd be a second-round pick if we redrafted today, right?
Yeah, I think you could argue first round, but yeah.
And you could argue first round.
Yeah.
So to me, it's like—
I wouldn't do the trade either.
I still like B. John.
Don't get—
I'm seeing the chat blow up.
I love B. John.
He's going to have his big, long runs and stuff like that,
but it just hasn't been the role I was hoping for for him.
I thought he'd be more involved in the passing game.
We'll talk to you all on Sunday.
Oh, crap.
I can't believe I forgot.
So it's—
We're going to go 12.15 to 1 p.m. on Sunday, not 12.30.
12.15 to 1 p.m.
We'll give you 15 extra minutes there to answer your questions.
