Week 7 Fantasy Football RANKINGS & Tiers: QB, RB, WR, & TE + Starts & Sits (10/22 Fantasy Football Podcast)

This week’s fantasy football rankings emphasize key positional shifts and health updates. Sake Juan Barclay’s return makes him a must-start running back, while the Bears’ backfield shows promise with Rochon Johnson and Deandre Swift, though Swift’s recent injuries limit his upside. Jalen Warren is considered a borderline top-12 option due to reduced targets and reliance on Rico Dotto. Chase Brown and Ramandre Stevenson face uncertainty, with Brown having strong potential in zone-based schemes and Stevenson appearing inconsistent and high-risk. Josh Jacobs returns from injury and is seen as a high-upside play due to a high-scoring matchup against the Lions. For the Vikings, Aaron Jones is slightly favored over Jordan Mason, but both are considered flexible due to uncertain workload splits. The Seahawks backfield is deemed risky, with Manu Wilson and Charbonne being safer choices. Wide receiver rankings highlight strong performances from Matthew Golden and Christian Watson in Green Bay, while Xavier Worthy and Kenyan Sedeek are viewed as sleepers due to favorable matchups and target volume. Quarterback rankings feature Caleb Williams and Kyler Murray as top-10 options, with Kyler Murray benefiting from a strong offensive scheme and a loaded receiving corps. Dak Prescott is sidelined due to inconsistent production and a lack of touchdowns. Tight ends are boosted by Kyle Pitts’ recent resurgence and Pat Frymer’s birthday matchup against the Saints, making him a top-tier flex. Overall, the consensus leans toward starting high-upside, high-scoring matchups with cautious flexibility in positions where injury or inconsistency is present.
[MUSIC] It's week seven. We got a fun fantasy football today, plan for you. I'm Jamie Eisenberg, that's Dave Richard, that's Heath Cummings. We're going through our week seven consensus ranking, showing you everything you need from a start-sit perspective, from running back, wide receiver, quarter back, tight end. And we got some good news at the running back position, sake Juan Barclay's expected to return for this week. So is he back to being a must-start fantasy running back? I mean, I have 20, 26 expectations for him, so a number two running back. But yeah, I would put him in my lineup. It doesn't take much to be a must-start running back this week. He's the top 20 guy for sure. It's Dallas, too, it's a great match. You got sake Juan Barclay, you got Chase Brown, you got all these guys that we drafted, or Marin Habs is not playing this week, all these guys that we drafted back into the first round, beginning part of the second round. They've been disappointments, hopefully this will be the week, at least in the case of Barclay and Brown that they deliver. And we'll show you where those guys are ranked. But first, let's talk about the guys that are on a buy. We have four teams on a buy once again. So you're not going to have James Cook. You're not going to have Basel Tutton. You're not going to have him are in Hampton, Rashad White, for what that's worth. Those guys probably flex plays at this point. J'Corey Croskey, Merritt, going to miss at least three more games for the commander, so White will be the lead running back there. If he's on waivers, go pick him up. But no, James Cook, no Basel Tutton. Those guys have been must-start running backs. And pretty much, at least for the case of Cook, consistently ranked in the top 12. So let's show you our consensus rankings. In terms of the top 12 running backs, and we have a guy that's playing tonight in Deandre, so if you want to talk about the Bears' back, field, and Jalen Warren. So let's start with the Bears' back field. Heath, I know you're very excited about Rochon Johnson. Deandre Swift has not really benefited, I think, to the extent that a lot of us would have hoped with Menongai out. Menongai may return in the Bears' next game, but he's not going to play in Thursday nice matchup against the Patriots. How much do you love Swift? And then just talk about your excitement for Rochon as well? Yeah, I like both of the Bears running backs. This Patriots defense is good. The run defense is not as great as it was last year. In fact, I think their past defense is a little bit better than their run defense for the Bears. Their run offense has been a little bit better than their past offense. So I do think that both Swift and Menongai can be good. I wonder if the reason that Swift hasn't gotten the boost without Menongai is because he's really not been healthy. It seems like every week he has an injury or two that he's dealing with. Now he's on a short week. I think we get at least 40% of the offensive snaps will go to Rochon Johnson. You can expect somewhere between 10 and 15 touches. Those RB2s or RB1Bs for the Bears have averaged really close to a fantasy point per touch. So I do think Johnson is very close to the RB2 range. I don't actually see a big difference between him and a Ramandre Stevenson where Josh Jacobs is weak. All right, so interesting there and just in what you can potentially get out of Rochon Johnson. And then Dave Jalen Warren, we were so excited with the way that he had performed in the three games that Rico Dotto was out with the toe injury. Then we get last week's game against Tampa Bay and it wasn't to the same extent for Jalen Warren. So what's the expectations in this matchup against the Saints in Paris? I think the matchup is clearly better. You look at the box and they've been pretty good against the run. And you saw Warren end up with more touches than Rico Dotto and certainly more playing time. So I don't mind going back to the Jalen Warren well again. Is he a top 12 running back? He's not for me because I do know that Rico Dotto will take some work away. But he talked about it. Like it doesn't take much to be a most start fantasy running back. And here's a guy that's going to play 70% of the snaps for the Steelers, lead the way and touches for them against New Orleans. You saw the Giants running back. So we're able to at least piece together last week. Yeah, I think Jalen Warren should be in lineups. Two total touchdowns for Tyrone Tracy. Nothing for Cam Skatibu. We'll talk about the Giants back. They'll coming up in a little bit. Let's show you the rankings 13 through 24. And again, this is where we start to get some of the decisions that you might be making or struggling with. And one could be Chase Brown. Do you start him? Do you have any confidence in him? You got Ramandre Stevenson. Heath told you he likes a guy like Roshan Johnson in the same range as Stevenson. I think that's more telling about where Ramandre is at this point. And then we're going to get Josh Jacobs back. We'll save that one for the end of this little conversation here. Dave, when it comes to Chase Brown, last time we saw them was their buy. They had their buy week in week six, week five against Miami. Samajepi Run was the best bangles running back. Who's going to be the best bangles running back in week seven? I think it's set up for Brown to be the best running back. But I am very worried that it won't be by much. The Bengals talked during their buy week about how they want to utilize the run game based on the weaknesses of their opponents. And that would mean against the Ravens, a lot of zone running, not a lot of gap running, and not a lot of throwing to the running backs either. And the zone running would seemingly help Chase Brown because he's more explosive. But we've seen him be a big factor in the passing game. All season long, really. And if he's not going to get a lot of targets against a Ravens scene that's great at defending the pass against running backs, then I don't know how good he'll be. Number two fantasy running back. But don't be surprised if he and Samajepi are on end up having about the same amount of carries in the game. You're concerned about Ramandre Stevenson a little bit or a lot? A little bit, I think he's still an RB2 because of the state of the running back position. But last week, we saw two things that I didn't like. One Travion Henderson was working more on passing downs, more in the two-minute drill, which is something that has been all Ramandre Stevenson for most of the past year and a half. And then the other was what got to the fourth quarter, the Patriots had the lead, and it was Corey Kiner time. And Mike Frabel seemed to kind of take a fence at the notion that that wasn't a good plan. I don't think we'll see Kiner again in a large dose, but there is the possibility of this being a 300 backfield. There's always the possibility. Listen, we've already seen it twice this year. Ramandre fumbled, he got benched for almost the rest of the game. Henderson got most of the touches. Ramandre just played to block. Last week, Henderson fumbled, he got benched. They've got other guys they like. So I just think he has a lot of risk. Gotta be probably a touchdown-dependent fantasy option at this point, because the work in the past game could be a little questionable. That's kind of saved Ramandre. And then we got Josh Jacobs coming off the commissioner's example, as he is expected to play, not a guarantee. So just keeping eye on that, I would personally roster Pierre Strong, more so than Marcel and Lloyd at this point, because I just don't think Lloyd's very good, and Strong had a great game last week against Dallas. Heath, I know you have Josh Jacobs as a sip, but I want both your takes on just the Packers running back. So you don't want to play Jacobs even if he does start this. No, I'm very excited that he's back. I hope that he looks good, but he hasn't played all season. He may have some rest to shake off. And I don't think that there's going to all of a sudden be a huge change in what the Packers do offensively. They've been awesome passing the ball. They're facing Detroit, who their secondary is going to be better this week. It's still a bad secondary and bad corners, I think. And so we'll see Christian Watts and Matthew Golden getting these huge downfield targets. I've got 10 1/2, 11 1/2 carries for Josh Jacobs in this game. I don't think he does a lot in the passing game. Kind of like Stephenson, he has to score a touchdown. It's better for him, because he's in a game where there's going to be a lot of points scored. But this over under tonight's pretty high, too. I think you're counting on the touch on, like he said. And I think he'll get a little bit more work than that. It's his first game. He's got fresh legs. This Lions run defense has run hot and cold this year. They tend to play well against weaker run games. But they haven't stopped anybody who's been good running the football. And it's not like Josh Jacobs forgot how to play football. He should be able to run efficiently and certainly better than what we've seen from March on Lloyd. So I'm a little more optimistic about Jacobs in a game that's expected to be super high scoring that he can find the end zone and maybe even rack up 70 yards on the way. All right, so there's a couple of looks at some ambiguous backfields. Let's keep that going as we show you the next list of rankings that we're talking about here. Running backs 25 through 36 in our consensus PPR rankings. And we have the Viking situation. You saw Aaron Jones on the other list here. He's still top 24 running back consensus wise. Dave may not agree with that. But Jordan Mason is going to return. And then we have the Seahawks backfield, because Zach Scharbernay is going to make his 2026 debut coming back from the ACL tear. So Dave, Aaron Jones is the guy that you are recommending people to sit to this week. I would recommend sitting both Vikings running backs if you can. Who's the one who's going to be most likely to score? I would figure that the more physical Mason, again, with fresh legs. He missed time because of a thumb injury, would be the one that they would use in short yardage and goal line situations. And shorter that, they might mix and match the two of them over the course of the game. And they both might get a decent amount of work. Look, they're playing Indianapolis. Their run defense isn't particularly great. So unless there's something where Aaron Jones just continues to dominate touches, and Jordan Mason is eased back in, I don't think we can feel good about starting Aaron Jones. I think this is one of the more difficult ones, because Aaron Jones has been awesome. And so how much do they want to rest him take off of his plate versus how much do they want to give the ball to the guy who's been absolutely awesome recently? I think it's pretty much a 50/50 split on whose scores. I have the carries projected pretty close to a 50/50 split. So the reason I have Jones just a little bit ahead is because I think he's far more likely to see three or four targets than Jordan Mason is. That's really the only difference right now for me between them. And it's funny, you both had almost the same thing. That's what we saw in week one. Fourteen carries in a touchdown for Jordan Mason. Twelve carries in a touchdown for Aaron Jones. Yeah, that's a good one. Neither one had a catch. Only one target for Aaron Jones. Now we have seen Jones involvement in the passing in the last three weeks, which ironically enough, coincides with Kyler Murray coming back as the quarterback there. But now you have Jefferson, Addison, and Hawkinson, all healthy. So we'll see how this all plays out. I think you can get away actually with both. I do think the matchup is so good. So not necessarily slam dunk. You're still starting Aaron Jones, but as at least the flex. And I think you can trust Jordan Mason, potentially as a flex as well. The Seahawks backfield, look, you're going to get Charbonne. We have no idea how this is all going to play out because last week it was another three guys sharing with Emanuel Wilson, George Hullani, and then they threw Avila's Jones in the mix. Now you have Charbonne back. I think if you want to just be smart, stay away from the Seahawks back that we can because the Chiefs run defense. Top 10 and few as fantasy points allowed to the position. I would just try and sit in Manu Wilson. So if I'm going to play a Seahawks running back, I'm just going to go to Charbonne and hope that he scores because I think that's what his role will be. We'll see who gets used in the passing game. It's going to get really messy next week, though. Wilson and Charbonne both do something because the Darian Price could come back from the chest injury. One last look of the running back rank list that we're going to show you is 37 through 48. And more ambiguous back goes. You got the carnal situation. So it does not appear that Darian, my love, [BLANK_AUDIO]
going to play again dealing with that ankle injury sat out week six, most likely going to be out in week seven as they take on Denver. And then you have the Giants backfield. So they got rid of one guy for us. At least we don't have to worry about Naji Harris being in a mix. But now we got this report from ESPN that it could be Tyrone Tracy Jr. Dave, that's a sleeper for you for this week. So give me the breakdown of the Giants backfield in a very difficult matchup against Houston. I have a hard time believing that Tyrone Tracy will have the backfield to himself. And I could very easily see three running backs, mixing and matching. But we saw the Giants have a pension for leaning on Tyrone Tracy inside the 10 yard line last week. Got a couple of catches in the game. Not a great rushing average and only six carries. But that speaks to just how they were utilizing so many guys. If he's their most explosive guy, number one, that's kind of sad. But also number two, he's the one that'll be on the field the most. And I think he is at this point their most explosive guy, not necessarily their most physical guy. This is another situation I'd like to avoid. Tracy would be my pick, but he'd be a biweek at best replacement. Last week, we saw for the Cardinals Tyler Algier struggle. Zondam and Bambnite better. Neither guy was great though. What are we thinking this matchup against Denver? I think it's probably going to be a 50/50 in the first quarter. And if one guy's hot, then that guy's going to get more touches. I would actually lean towards Tyler Algier just because I think he gets the first crack. He was ahead of Bambnite coming into last week. I think Knight has to take it from him again. He might do that. I almost want to start both these guys over the Giants just because I think there's a better chance that one of them has a good game. And I it devin's single Terry could be the best running matchup for the Cardinals running back too. Yeah, Broncos have actually struggled against opposing running backs from a fantasy perspective. The Texans not so much in terms of where the Giants are facing. All right, so we've covered a lot of our starts and sits. I just want to get to the few that we've missed. So he if you like Woody Marks as a start why? We don't expect David Montgomery to play did not practice on Wednesday. George Orden also went on something called practice squad injured reserve or something like. Yeah, there's a reserve for players on the practice one. Yeah. So their current backup running backs are Daria Gumballale and Duce one. Yeah, it might be 25 touches for Woody Marks. It could be very easily be 20. This is a very good matchup against the Giants. They're going to be playing with a lead. Woody marks at the top 16 running back. The Giants allowed the biggest played Alvin Camera in two and a half seasons last week, 31 yards. And so they are not very good at tackling. That's a problem. So Woody marks top 15 fantasy running back. A running back has gotten at least 12 PPR points or more in every game this season against the Giants. And this would be the guy that keeps that streak going. All right, Dave, you like Quenchedown Judkins, which is interesting because I know we just did another segment on another show and you were talking about his role in the passing game. But now you got Dylan Samson coming back. Sure. And I think that's going to impact what that potential could be for him catching passing. Dylan Samson will play an obvious passing down situations. But he's still going to get targets. Judkins will on first and second downs. And when Deshaun Watson sees zone coverage, he checks it down to his running backs a lot. Quenchedown actually leads the Browns in target PPR on rate and yard PPR on rate against zone coverage this season. It's crazy. And it's kind of a tell on Deshaun Watson and where he's at right now in his career. But on top of that, I think he's going to see the most opportunities carrying the ball. And that's important too. Tennessee's run defense is solid. But I do see them allowing a bunch of fantasy points. In fact, they've allowed at least 12 and a half PPR points to five of six running backs that they face this year. Cam scattered with 13 PPR points against them. So if you can do that, I think Quenchedown Judkins can too. He's a number two fantasy RB. Hopefully he's healthy. Just keep not in the practice port, but trending in the right direction. And we'll see another practice report that we got a monitor. And that's the Jets. Braille and Allen is the start of the week for us this week. So hopefully it's going to be a situation where he is the feature to running back once again. The last two weeks have been fantastic for Braille and Allen 12.4 PPR points are more into the last two games. And the Dolvins have a lot of running back to get 15 or more PPR points in every game so far this season, including the great Samaj P. Ryan, the last time that they played. So I think this is an opportunity for Braille and Allen if he's the guy to still be a must-start option. And if Bressal returns, I was still start Braille and Allen as at least a flex. So just to recap the starts, Woody marks for Heath, Quenchedown Judkins for Dave. Braille and Allen, for me, the sits. We kind of went over this already. Josh Jacobs is the guy that Heath wants to sit Aaron Jones, the guy that Dave would get away from and Emmanuel Wilson for me. The sleepers we touched on a little bit as well. Rocheon Johnson for Heath, Tyrone Tracy for Dave, and just Mike Washington just a note to keep an eye on last week played more in the second half than Ash and Gentie. The Rams defense line is really banged up right now. So if they decide to give Mike Washington more work, he could be a sneaky play but that's more for deep leagues if you're going to start him just something to keep an eye on moving forward. We're going to take a break. We come back and get into the wide receiver rankings. Again, a lot of big-name players missing. We'll tell you you can start for you who are some players you might want to avoid and a couple sleepers as well. That's next here on F50. Coming back to Fantasy football today, we're talking about the wide receiver rankings for week number seven. Get you set to get those lineups right. But unfortunately, you're going to have some big names missing. We got four teams on a buy. Once again, let's show you the wide receivers who are not going to help you for this week and this starts with the guys in Buffalo. No DJ Moore was not played for the last few games. No key on Coleman, no Khalil Shakir. Parker Washington will not be able to help you this week. Man, it's been tough for Ladden Maconking, Quentin Johnson anyway. And we know that there is not going to be term a corn for the rest of the season. Go pick up Antonio Williams if he's out there. Stefan Diggs is going to be a borderline must start wide receiver starting in week eight and beyond. All right, let's take a look at the consensus rankings one through 12 and tell you about the players who are going to play in week number seven. And we have a pair of packers that have cracked the top 12 this week. And that's Matthew Golden and Christian Watson. Dave, are they just going to dominate the Lions? Or do we have any concern that now that there is maybe the threat of a run game? The passing game may not be as successful for the Green Bay Packers offense. It's it's not about it being successful. It's about it having as much volume as it's had. And it's not going to happen this week because Josh Jacobs, it is his first game back after all. So I would imagine that he won't see the type of work certainly like he did in the first nine games last year when he averaged 21.1 touches per game. High scoring shootout against the Lions should be tons of opportunities for both wide receivers to put up huge numbers completely agree with this ranking. All right. So hopefully these guys deliver and we'll see if they keep up being as you know borderline top 12 guys as they've done so far through the first six weeks of the season. Let's show you the rank list 13 through 24. And he's we have a couple guys on this list that are playing in Thursday night's game with AJ Brown, who is coming in at wide receiver 20 and Luther burdened the third at number 24. Which of the two do you like better and how will they do going head-to-head against each other facing their respective defenses? I've got a slight leaning on AJ Brown. I think the matchup is better for him. And the upside is higher for him if he can be AJ Brown again. And we just like what we saw last week was not what we were hoping to see. But hopefully all the rust has been knocked off. I think a lot of people expected that we would be ranking AJ Brown closer to 12 than 24. If he can have one good game then we will be back there. Again no Romeo dobs. So that was a that's a change that the the Patriots are dealing with here. And so you know not that it impacted the targets last week for Brown. I don't think Romeo dobs dropped those passes. No no he actually got hurt holding on to his touchdown. Where AJ Brown you know was dropping balls left and right. So for that changes in tonight's game against the Bears. I'll show you the list 25 through 36 and we have an injury that we're keeping an eye on right now that we just don't know how it's going to impact by the time we get to Sunday. And that's a mecca of Bucca. So you see him coming in at 35 if he was active healthy. No issues. He'd probably be closer to top 20. Just given the way that he's performed and the secondary that he's facing because the Panther still down there to stop to top starting cornerbacks with a Bucca coming off two very solid games with 25 targets in his last two games. And Baker may feel now expected to play. So that's just one to keep an eye on there. So that could change how the rankings look. You have some questionable situations here because you don't know if Rashi Rice is going to play that will impact Xavier Worthy. Devon Veile has got a tough matchup. Denzel Boston coming off a bad game. Great matchup though for him. We'll talk about some of these guys as well. Let's show you the list of 37 through 48 because there's a guy in this list that's coming off an amazing game. And that's Omar Cooper Jr. He's how do we feel about Cooper knowing that there is a chance to add an eye Mitchell could also play this week and facing a Miami defense that I don't think is great. But they've been statistically amazing against opposing fantasy water receivers. That's because they're always down by two scores. The other team doesn't need to say right. I'm a little bit worried about Cooper even if Mitchell doesn't come back this week because I think the start of the week is going to get 20-plus Rasha Thompson, Braylon Allen. I think Garrett Wilson is unlikely to have two bad games in a row. And so I'm not sure it leaves quite enough for Cooper unless he just has a big play which he has the ability to do. So I would view him as more of a boom or bust flex. And I will be lower on him if Adam Mitchell is back. Listen, we got really excited about Kenyan Sedeek for one game when Mason Taylor wasn't there. And then Mason Taylor came back and now he's out snapping and out targeting Kenyan Sedeek. I wouldn't be surprised if Adam Mitchell comes back and is the number two wide receiver again and Cooper's just their number three. Stash Cooper doesn't mean you have to start him. And if he has a great game, we could potentially be a must-start guy moving forward. Especially if Geno Smith has a good game because he gets a revenge game next week against the Raiders and that could be fun for the entire Jet's Pass game. Let's talk about some starts and sit here and Dave you had a guy that we I just mentioned briefly and Xavier worthy as a start. Now how much does that matter rice playing, not rice playing? Oh and very difficult matchup though this week you get to see August back in Paris the last very difficult matchup and obviously for she rises back and playing for Kansas City then yeah you can't feel good about starting Xavier worthy but his role changed and I think a lot of had to do with the fact that rice wasn't on the field. Lower 8.4.29 yards that means a lot of short throws from Patrick Mahomes. He had a high target chair 24% of the targets went his way that's huge and 10.4 yards per catch. That was the second best for him on the year and you know that the way that Seattle Seahawks played defense they really deter you from taking shots down the field. They're okay with you taking those little short passes and so if Mahomes is going to keep that up we're
he's going to catch a lot of them and in PPR that might be enough to make him a top 24 wide receiver on the week. It's keeping eye on what Rashi Rice's situation is moving forward and don't worry about that though with the Titans because Carnot Tate is really stabbing himself as a go-to guy for Cam Ward and finally scored his first touchdown last week. That was nice. I'm not sure I'll score another one for a while but he should get enough targets and enough catches and enough yards to be a top 24 wide receiver. I think most weeks Tate was the best rookie wide receiver coming into this year. He's been the best rookie wide receiver at least until we get one more week of Jimmy Bernard this year and so I think it's hard to be encouraged by Cam Ward but he's throwing the ball to Carnot Tate a lot. Start him. Yeah it's been fun and Wanda Robinson 11 and more PPR points in three of his last four games. For me I'm going to go to Jimmy Bernard another rookie wide receiver and he came back. I've started them both. They were both awesome last week. You got 15 targets for Mecca. Last week 11 catches 93 yards. You got 12 targets for Bernard. 11 catches 87 yards and a touchdown. He's got 21 targets in two games since Roman Wilson has been out and the Saints have allowed six receivers score 13.4 PPR points or more and we've already had one game where you've had two receivers hit that mark which was the Falcons with Jahan Dotson and Drake London so two receivers in this game could do the same thing for the Steelers as well. So there's a couple of wide receivers they could sit on the same team. Let's talk about some wide receivers. Start on the same thing. Let's talk about some wide receivers that we want to sit. Dave Jalenwaddle has been awful. This could be a matchup though we actually had some success. The matchup does seem favorable but who's this quarterback? It's Bonyx right? It still hasn't changed. It's still that guy and he just hasn't played well. I need to see it first and I know that this matchup suggests great things. He's had some favorable matchups along the way and he's fallen off because in part of Bonyx. He is currently 34th among all wide receivers in targets per game and 50th in PPR points per game. That's bad. I need to see it before I believe it as a bi-week replacement wide receiver fine. If I'm desperate at wide receiver fine but I can't start them on the hope that Bonyx has figured things out against Arizona especially after the way the Cardinals played defense last week and they were getting after Matthew Stafford. That blitz was crazy and if Bonyx is facing that it's going to be ugly for Denver's offense. I don't disagree with most of what you said just the one counterpoint would be this is what the Cardinals have allowed. Eight receivers at least 12 points for PPR points this season. One in each of their six games so far this year. So if there is one logically to do it you would hope that it's dailin well and that's not that that's a huge number but it would be nice to see. I would love it if you had that. Absolutely. I would take that right now if I could. Obviously everybody would love to see that. Heath Josh Downs has been miserable the last three weeks is going to continue one more week against the Vikings. It was basically everything Dave said about Jalen Wattel except worse. Daniel Jones is playing even worse than Bonyx. The Vikings defense is much scarier than the Arizona defense. Josh Downs has been a colossal disappointment. Listen he's probably not even the best wide receiver on his own team. That's Keenan Allen. I don't want to start Keenan Allen either run away from the Colts passing game this year. And to Heath's point he's 31st in targets per game. Josh Downs is and he's behind Jalen Wattel in PPR points per game. So he's getting more targets and getting less production out of it. You got to stay away from Josh Downs. I'm going to try to stay away from Michael Wilson this week and I know that sounds funny because we thought okay no more Marvin Harris and he's going to be awesome. He's been terrible the last two weeks. He's gotten seven targets into the last two games. He's only got eight catches over that span. No touchdowns, 62 yards. So it's been frustrating to watch and now you're taking on a Denver defense that even if they don't have Patrick's or Tan they still been very good against wide receivers at least in the last two games. And so it's just tough to trust Wilson. You're going to start him in three receiver leagues because the volume will still be there for him. But the lack of production has been alarming. Jacobi per said is struggling right now without that guy to take the top off and I think you're seeing it really be a tough go for not only Wilson but also Chan McBride. So hopefully Wilson gets going in this week if Sir Tan doesn't play. I think Sir Tan plays is just easy. Get away from Michael Wilson completely. Let's talk about some sleepers that we like for this week. Davey got Kendrick Born as a guy that you actually do like because if Michael Wilson is drawing double teams and that's part of what's been happening out in Arizona then Kendrick Born is going to be available against single coverage in the middle of the field and if PPR is a factor in your league then he's going to be able to rack up targets and get some cheap PPR points. Let me guess. He's that every week until Dave ranks him on the top 40. Well the equal Washington is going to be my sleeper wide receiver. Oh this is perfect. I'm just going to keep him up 40. Keep him up 41 and then I don't have to do any extra work. I appreciate it. Now he's been the clear number one wide receiver for the dolphins. He scored 10 to 12 PPR fantasy points each of the last three weeks. The negative is he hasn't scored any touchdowns. But also I think that highlights that there is more upside than what we've seen from League Washington. He's probably going to score a touchdown this season. He might score two or three. The weeks that he does he's going to score 16 to 18 PPR fantasy points. That'd be pretty awesome. I'm a little bit worried if Caleb Douglas comes back. I might move him outside of my top 30 but he'll absolutely be a top 36 wide receiver. A very high floor wide receiver three. There is a guy you can go pick up right now. He's available in about 70% of leagues on CBS sports. It could be the number one receiver for one of the best quarterbacks and best offense in the NFL. That's Christian Kirk. So we're going to see a situation where Mike Evans may not play this week. Kirk could be the number one receiver for San Francisco. Now you might get to Marcus Robinson back. I don't think that's going to be the case. Brandon Cook's has been involved. They could use anybody that they pull up the street at this point will probably be successful in this offense. But Kirk has been practicing. And Debo Samuel also not going to play. And the Falcons have just been awful against opposing wide receivers. Number six in terms of most fantasy points allowed to the position. Nine guys have gone to at least 11.2 PPR points or more. So I think he'll be a starter right away in three receiver leagues. And we don't know how long this Evans injury could linger. They do they're by next week. So something to keep an eye on there. But Christian Kirk, go pick them up and you might be able to start them for this week. All right, we're going to take a break. When we come back and again into some quarterback conversation. Again, a lot of big names on a buy no Josh Allen, no Trevor Lawrence. We'll give you some quarterback replacements. We'll give you some starts and sits. That's next on FFT. Welcome back to fantasy football today. We're talking about quarterback rankings here. I don't know what's about to happen. We're talking about quarterback rankings here for week number seven. We're going to get into our starts and sits. You think something's like we're about to surprise you. Yeah, this is weird. Now your birthday was two days ago. We're done with that. Okay, good. You're still 50. Good. We're talking about quarterback rankings here for fantasy football today. We're going to talk about the teams that are on a buy and show you the quarterbacks that are missing. We've got Josh Allen off, Trevor Lawrence off, no Justin Herbert, no Jane Daniels. So you have a lot of big name guys to replace in terms of not having Allen and Lawrence available to you. And let's talk about the guys that are going to be able to play this week with the the consensus rankings one through 12. And we have two of them playing tonight with Drake May and Caleb Williams. And so Dave, when you look at Caleb Williams last week was a very good game for him. Not a huge fantasy game for him. Is this going to be a great fantasy game for him taking on the Patriots? I think it'll be a little better than last week. I think he's a top 10 fantasy quarterback. And I loved that he was able to just operate within what the the play calls were. He didn't hold the ball too long. He didn't throw down field very much against Allen. They were really concerned about that Falcons pass rush getting to him. And I don't know if they're going to have the same exact type of level that concerned against New England because the Patriots, great defensive tackles, really some question marks on the edge. Certainly no elite guys that can come after Caleb Williams there. I don't like the fact that he didn't run either because we saw that earlier in the air. Now we know his hamstring is an issue. He's able to get away from pressure, but he's not taking running down field. He's not taking off was what I was going to say. And so that kind of limits the upside. But could he go out there and throw for 250 yards and two touchdowns? Of course he could. Yeah, it's kind of about about what I expect. I struggle a lot with him in the 9, 10, 11, 12 range. He has more upside than most of those guys and probably a lower floor than most of those guys. It's interesting. They do have an implied total of like 27 in this game. So that sounds pretty good from a point scoring perspective. Patriots defense does worry me just a little bit though in terms of maybe turning him over a couple times. All right, so we'll see what happens in tonight's game. And let's show you the list 13 through 24 of the quarterbacks that you may have some questions about. Certainly closer to the guys that are in top 15. And we all have sort of like a favorite guy that we like that's different from the consensus rankings for Heath. That's Tyler Schuck still a guy that's in your top. I know you don't love him, but so in your top 12 for Dave, that's Dino Smith. And for me, it's Kyler Murray. So Heath, it's Schuck brutal matchup against the the Steelers, but still could be decent enough to be a top 12 guy. He's actually, I think at 13 for me now, right behind Aaron Rogers. So he was the guy that I would like to sit, but I also think what he's done this season makes it hard to sit him. They throw the ball a lot. They run a lot of plays with that type of volume, even when you're an extremely inefficient quarterback, like he's been this season, 6.1 yards per attempt. You still end up scoring fantasy points, especially if you score three or four points per game with your legs. So it's hard to completely get away from him, but I would start Aaron Rogers in the same game over him. I do like the fact that despite the broken hand, you ran for 32 yards. For the first time, he actually got to running last week. And his offensive line took on another big injury. And so they're going to be without Cesar Ruiz. That's going to be a factor too. So talk about Geno Smith to have to. Yeah. You know, I actually think this game between the dolphins and the jets could be competitive. I think the dolphins can come off of the buy and figure some things out. I don't view the jet steve. I think they're improving defensively. But I don't think they're a shutdown unit by any means. And so I think it's going to push Geno Smith to have to throw the ball a little bit. It doesn't mean I don't like Braille and Allen. I like Braille and Allen a lot. But also Garrett Wilson, Omar Cooper, maybe Aaron and Mitchell's back to. If this game is competitive, Geno will put the ball in the air as a by-week QB. I think he's okay because there are so many other quarterbacks that you just look at and you go, uh, gross, I can't start these guys. It's the bone nexus of the world. Even the Michael Pentax is even after last week. I'd still rather start Geno Smith. It's guys like Schock and Kyler Murray that I would put ahead of Geno. Totally get that. And again, if you're looking ahead, it does get the Raiders next week, revenge, game factor, if you play as well this week, you'll be a little
a little bit more comfortable starting him next week. And you may have all his receivers available if that night Mitchell plays. For me, Kyler Murray coming off his best game last time we saw him in week five, ran for 51 yards, gonna have Jordan Addison, T.J. Hawkinson, joining Justin Jefferson, probably Solskarner's gonna miss the game for the Colts. So a great opportunity for Kyler Murray. Two quarterbacks who run to the same level of Marjacks and marks Mario to both had 35 yards rushing or more. So hopefully Kyler continues to use his legs and does some damage in that regard. Some start quarterbacks for us this week. Keith Bryce Young has been absolutely awesome. Is he gonna be awesome once again against Tampa Bay? - Yeah, I think I've got a pretty clear equation. Is Tederovic Millen healthy? Is Jalen Kocher healthy? Yes, yes, start, Bryce Young. That's what it's been. And this offense when those two guys are on the field are generating explosive plays in the passing game. At a higher rate than just about anybody else in the NFL. They're not even doing a great job protecting him in terms of keeping pressure away from him. But he's still completing passes when he's under pressure. He is getting close to being a must start quarterback. - I think he's there. And that offensive line had Taylor Motenback last week. The pressure rate was the lowest it had been. It might be all season but it might really be like their last four games. So they are doing a better job and they need that to do a good job because Tampa's gonna blitz the snot out of Bryce Young. I still think he's a great quarterback. - He has had four consecutive games of 20 or more fantasy points against Tampa Bay. So he's used to this and two of them came at the end of last season so he's playing much better in those two games he did have Jalen Kocher. So should have another opportunity to play well this week. Dave Kirkazins, this might be his last start. It's getting close to if they continue to lose then Fernando Mendoza takes over but he's gonna have a good game against the ring. - I wonder if that motivates him to go out and put up a good game against the Rams. And I think this is gonna be a high scoring game. And when you looked at this matchup maybe two months ago you thought, oh, you can't start any Raiders. Rams defense is awesome. We'll look at all the injuries that the Rams had. They had a bunch of injuries last week. There's no Nate Landman. There's no Poon Afford. There's no Kobe Turner. Those are three front seven starters gone and we know Miles Garrett isn't gonna play either. And then Trent McDuffy did not practice on Wednesday. If he misses the game that's another starter off the field. I don't really love many of the replacements that they have and Cousins has at least 22 fantasy points in four of his past five games. So I'm kind of excited about starting them. I think this could be a high scoring game. I think the Raiders can keep up with the Rams in this game believe it or not. The Rams are just so beat up on both sides of the ball. So to me Cousins is a start. - Well see how he does and I think for any of us that have been relying on Cousins as a fantasy starter we'd like to see them maybe win this game to keep him in that starting job for at least one more weekend they get the Jets in week eight. I'm gonna go CJ Stroud. I think it's just easy, very similar to Bryce Young. The way that he's performing both these guys have just been playing out of their minds right now and taking on a Giants defense that for the last two games. Over 32 fantasy points allowed to Jay Daniels and Tyler Schuck. You saw best game of the season. I'm sure they had to do a Jacksonville secondary but best game of the season with Martin Harris not in the field. Now you're putting Tank Dillon in the field as well. So should be another strong game for CJ Stroud as top five upside in this matchup against the Giants. Some quarterbacks that we're looking to sit. Heathie already kind of gave you take both sides for the Tyler Schuck maybe positive, maybe a little bit negative. Dave, I'm surprised at this. You're sitting in Dak Prescott. - I'm surprised and I actually have a ranked 12th. So this is a reflection of how I feel about the quarterback position this week which is that there aren't 12 guys that I love. And it's really just what we've seen from him. 20.9 and a few were fantasy points in four straight games. And the biggest thing that keeps me mildly intrigued is the touchdowns because we've seen fully allow multiple touchdowns to five of the six quarterbacks that they face this year. That's something that could keep him afloat. I just wish we would have seen that from him at any point within his last four games. So I can't pinpoint exactly what's going on in Dallas and why Dak Prescott isn't putting huge numbers. But I have a feeling that the Eagles will be very psyched to play Dallas. We know the defense is gonna let them down. Maybe that leads to a high scoring game but I'm a little nervous to trust Dak Prescott and expect big numbers from him. - He does play well against Philadelphia. 21.9 points are more than six of his past seven. The game's four games over that span with 31.1 points or more. So we'll see if that continues for the fantasy minute. - I think the one game he didn't do it to was week one last year when they just ran all over them. So he didn't have to do anything. And I don't know if that's gonna be the case. Again, top 12 quarterback, fine. Top 10 quarterback, I would say no. - It's tough to expect the Philly offense to be great just knowing that what they're dealing with. - Yeah, that's his defense isn't so great. - Yeah, I think for all of us, we're trying to get away from Patrick Mahomes. It's been less production the last couple of weeks and this is the Kenneth Walker revenge game. So you expect and you read the dial up a bunch of place for his running back who's been dominating this offense. The lack of star power in the receiving court right now, not that Tyke Wantthorton was a star but he was a big piece of what this chief's offense has done. And no Racheer Rice last week looks like Racheer Rice is gonna be out again. Plus you have the Seahawks who are just amazing against opposing quarterbacks. Easy to sort of bench Patrick Mahomes this week. All right, we're gonna take a break when we come back and get into the tight ends. We still have your questions coming up. We'll send them to us using the hashtag #askfft. We'll get to those as well at the end of the show. But tight ends next, it's national tight end day on Sunday. We'll tell you just how good the tight ends are gonna be. We're talking about tight ends for week number seven. And as I said, going into the break, it's national tight end day on Sunday. It's also a tight ends birthday on Sunday that we're gonna be excited about. And that's Pat Fryer move. So it could be a big day for him, but national tight end day has been very good for fantasy tight ends. Unfortunately, you're not gonna have Hunter Henry Colston loved one Jake Ferguson or Dallas. We got it playing on Sunday, but many of the other tight ends are except for the four guys that are gonna be on a buy. So no dulled, concave, no bread and strange, no round a gasked and no chico conco. Pick up o'conco if he's available. Gonna be very prominent in the passing game for the commanders without Terry McCorn on the field. All right, let's show you the rankings one through 12 and some different names that we have not seen in a while are on this list when you have Kyle Pitts returning to the top 12. You also have Hunter Henry who's in the top 12. And a guy that's just outside the top 12 Colston Lovelin, Henry Lovelin playing each other in tonight's game. I wanted to highlight these guys because Lovelin was good last week with Caleb Williams was what seemed like the first time in forever. And Henry's played very well in the last three weeks. Heath, which tight end do you like better? - I like Hunter Henry. He's actually my start for this week and Lovelin is my sit for this week. And so I think for Henry, it's just Drake May is absolutely on fire right now. They're down yet another wide receiver. Henry seems to get five targets most weeks and has a good chance at getting into the end zone. He's someone that you can trust as a low end starter and I would trust him over Colston Lovelin. I hope that what we saw last week is the beginning of Colston Lovelin being who we drafted him to be. There's not a sample size that I can find that makes me feel good about that because it's kind of like we had two good games, they weren't even back to back. But the bigger problem is last week Mason Taylor had four catches for 33 yards. That's the best game a tight end has had against the Patriots. This season not counting Brock Bowers who scores 91% of his fantasy points not playing tight end. Colston Lovelin's been in line quite a bit. This Patriots, not just the Patriots, the Mike Vrayble defense has been known for years to be great at shutting down. - Patriots even. - Right, yes. And it still is. And so I'm staying away from Lovelin. - They do a great job against tight ends and the only thing that I could say are in defense of Colston Lovelin still being a top 10 tight end is that Caleb Williams was playing in structure. And so when the play call comes in and it's a play design for Colston Lovelin, the ball got to Colston Lovelin and the fact that they were able to get him involved in the red zone, also a big thing. He should have had two touchdowns last week. Kind of ran his route the wrong way for what would have been his second touchdown. So I think there is room for Lovelin to not necessarily build on what he did last week, but still be okay for fantasy purposes. He has a top 12 tight end. - All right, so you're the only one that has him in the top 12 and you see where sports line is along with you Heath almost completely out. So still continue to stash him. If you're not going to start him, I would start Henry over Lovelin. I think Heath would as well. All right, let's show you the list 13 through 24 here. And again, similar to quarterbacks, just some guys that are different from the consensus that we like and Heath and I are actually in the similar ball, which I wanted to bring up because we have the RAM situation which we haven't really touched on. No Devonte Adams for this week. So Heath, Tyler Higby, you obviously Colby Parkinson in this group of tight ends in this ranked list. What are we expecting? Because there is no Terrence Ferguson. How are they going to replace Devonte Adams? Is it going to be these two guys in which of the two do you like better? Well, it's pretty obviously. I can't be better. Why Higby over Parker? - So I do think there is a little bit of mystery there and I don't want to express too much certainty. But what we've seen the last couple of weeks is that Tyler Higby is doing more of what Brock Bauer's is doing and that is playing in the slot or even lining up out wide occasionally. Colby Parkinson's doing more of what Michael Mayer does where he just kind of plays on the line of scrimmage and they throw it two and three yards down field. I think there's a lot more upside for Higby. The targets to Higby this season have been a lot more effective for the Rams than the targets to Parkinson. I expect Higby to pick up a lot more of the Devonte Adams slack, whereas Parkinson may have four catches for 35 yards. Maybe he's worth a touchdown. But I think Higby could actually be good without a touchdown. - I think you're right about that. I wouldn't forget about Davis Allen who runs the same type of routes that Higby does. He's working further down field and he's right. Like Colby Parkinson's going to work close to the line of scrimmage. If the Raiders take a cue from the Cardinals last week and they blitz Matthew Stafford a lot, then Parkinson can actually pick up a couple of targets that way because he'll chip a defender, turn around, Stafford will throw it to him and then he can make a play after the catch. He won't be as efficient as Tyler Higby. But if he's got a couple more targets in Higby and certainly in the red zone could work in a better role than Higby, then yes, you could see Parkinson having the bigger game. - We have seen at least one game where Puka was not healthy and Higby was awesome. That was the game that Ferguson got hurt in week three. In that same game, Konata Monfield had a big game as well. So just he'd rank the non Puka Nukua pass catchers for the ranch this week. - A Kyron Williams is number one. He's been awesome in the passing game. He's always been a guy that ran a lot of routes. They're throwing two of a lot. For me, it would be Higby's second, then Parkinson, then Konata Monfield. - All right, so we'll see how this goes and please, if you have an IR spot, [BLANK_AUDIO]
Terrence Ferguson not going to return in week eight, but it could be a big difference maker until Devont Day Adams returns. Dave, you like Michael Mayer still, even in a tough match. - It's what the Raiders do. And I understand that this Rams defense has been awesome against Tidens. Well, one of the guys that helps them defend Tidens is Nate Landman. If he doesn't can clear concussion protocol, the guy that replaces him is terrible in coverage. Their defensive line is banged up too, so that'll give cousins just a little bit more time to throw down field. And because they've used Mayer so much, the only game they didn't use them in was against the Patriots. And that's a team that's great against Tidens. We talked about that and the Rams have been too. But if their personnel has changed to the point where they're having more backups in, I think that does open the door for Mayer to get in the neighborhood of six plus targets. - All right, so hopefully he continues to produce 12.2 PBR points or more in three of his last four games. All right, let's talk about some starts. Dave, you're going right back to Kyle Pitts. Three touchdowns in the last two games. He's finally looking like the guy we drafted. - Look at the smile on his face. Look at how happy he is. - I always love it when Dave's coming around on Kyle Pitts. - You have to at this point, because now we've seen him since week three. His A-dot has come down. He's been a short area target for his quarterback. Doesn't that remind you of what the Tidens did in Cleveland under-- - I think Michael Pinnix is learning the Kevin Stephanski off. - And I think Kevin Stephanski has learned that that's the best role for Kyle Pitts. So he's looking less like a wide receiver, more like a Tide-end, and more importantly, there's good things happening in the red zone. And so I think as long as that continues to happen, you can buy into Kyle Pitts as a bounce back candidate mid-season, I like him better than Colson Lovelin easily. - I would like him better than Colson Lovelin as well, and I also like Pat Frymer. I think he's going to be a big game for him. It's his birthday on Sunday, it turns 28. He's going to be celebrating in Paris. I think he has a big game on National Tide-end day. This is a great matchup. Four Tidens have already gone 10.9 PPR points or more against the Saints, and he's got 11 PPR points or more in two of his last three games. So this should be a big game for Pat Frymer. We were expecting a big game form last week. Didn't deliver. I think it had to do with maybe being on the injury report last week, but hopefully he comes through with a strong performance in this matchup. All right, some sits. He 30 gave you Colson Lovelin as a sit. Dave Harold Fanon, not buying into Dishon Watts and talking about this week is trying to get him more involved. - No, I don't see it happening. He's been under two PPR points in his last two games. 12% target share, or worse in his last two games. His run rate slid to 76% last week. I just think it's hands off of Harold Fanon. Right now, I'd rather start a ramps tie-down. And it's the way that Dishon's operating. It's been mostly Denzel Boston as you alluded to before the running backs had been involved in the past game as well. Mark Andrews, one catch, four yards, five targets last week, until Lamar Jackson comes back. I think you just sit, Mark Andrews. He could score. That's always in his game. Bangles have been bad against head-ends, but they have, again, a touchdowns the tie-downs, yet so far this season, at least consistently. So I would stay away from Mark Andrews. - Whoever the tie-down two has been in Baltimore, every game has looked better playing tie-down than Mark Andrews. - Yeah. - Yeah, Metz and Drus Schwabes was like that last week. - Imagine they had a guy, what's his name? Oh, Isaiah likely, he'd be doing wonderful things. - Oh, we like likely, where he is. - We love likely where he is. And we love where you send us questions and when you send them to us. Podcast Summary
Key Points:
Sake Juan Barclay is expected to return and is projected as a top-20 running back, making him a must-start option in fantasy lineups.
The Bears' backfield features Deandre Swift and Rochon Johnson, with Johnson likely getting 10–15 touches and performing at a RB2 level due to favorable matchup and offensive schemes.
Jalen Warren shows potential but is not ranked in the top 12 due to reduced playing time and reliance on Rico Dotto, though he could still be a viable flex option.
Chase Brown is projected as a top-2 RB, but his performance may be limited against the Ravens’ zone defense, and he could be in a close game with Samajepi Run.
Ramandre Stevenson is viewed as a high-risk RB2 due to inconsistent performance, fumbles, and lack of consistent touches, making him a risky flex play.
Josh Jacobs is expected to return and could have a breakout game against the Lions, with strong upside due to a high-scoring matchup and fresh legs.
Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason are both in question for the Vikings; Jones is a slight favorite due to more targets, while Mason has potential in short-yardage situations.
Pat Frymer is highlighted as a sleeper for the Titans, with a favorable matchup on National Tight End Day and a strong history against the Saints.
Summary:
FAQs
Yes, Saquon Barkley is expected to return this week. He is ranked in the top 20 running backs and considered a must-start due to his high upside and the favorable matchup against the Patriots.
Chase Brown is a top-2 fantasy running back this week, but his performance may not be significantly better than Samaje Perine due to the Ravens' zone-heavy defensive scheme, which favors explosive runners.
Ramande Stevenson is viewed as a risky RB2 due to recent inconsistency, fumbles, and limited touches. He may be a touchdown-dependent option with significant risk in a high-pressure game.
Josh Jacobs is expected to play and is projected to get around 10–11 carries. Given his fresh legs and the Lions' weak run defense, he could deliver a strong fantasy performance with a potential touchdown.
Both Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason are expected to share carries, with a 50/50 split. Jordan Mason is favored due to fresh legs, but Jones may see more targets, making it a difficult decision for a must-start.
Tyrone Tracy is a top contender for the Giants backfield, especially given his recent use in the red zone. However, he is considered a bi-weekly replacement due to the likely mixing of multiple running backs.
