Week 6 Waivers + #AndysHole - Fantasy Football Podcast for 10/13
from Fantasy Footballers - Fantasy Football Podcast
49m 10s
The Fantasy Footballers podcast blends live football analysis with a humorous and heartfelt anecdote about Andy Holloway’s historic hole-in-one, achieved after 2,399 shots over 10 hours in the rain. This personal story underscores the show’s theme of passion and resilience. The episode then transitions into comprehensive fantasy football news, highlighting several key injuries across teams—such as high ankle sprains for Trayvon Henderson and Andrew, and hamstrings for Devonte Smith and Debo Samuel—shaping roster decisions. Waiver wire strategies emphasize top targets and matchups: Jeremy Bernard and Kendrick Born are highlighted as breakout opportunities due to receiving roles and weak defenses. The team also evaluates running back depth, favoring Damien Pierce over Woody Marx due to better defensive matchups, while noting the potential of rookie James McCollum. Quarterback analysis focuses on Jordan Love and Kyler Murray, both facing weak defenses and showing strong recent stats. A defensive critique of the Chargers’ special teams decisions adds depth, while the hosts advocate for flexible roster planning using custom waiver rankings. A final trade debate between B. John Robinson and Ken Walker concludes with a preference for Walker due to better scheduling and injury risk concerns. The episode concludes with a reminder to tune in for upcoming matchups, fantasy draft reanalysis, and the importance of staying agile in response to injuries and roster changes.

>> Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright.
[MUSIC]
>> Welcome in.
[MUSIC]
>> Good morning, everybody.
>> What a Monday night.
What a football game.
>> That was very bizarre, with a very bizarre football game.
>> 37, 34.
>> It's funny because of the first half, it's like, oh, wasn't this game 54 and a half points?
It's supposed to be a high scoring game because it's late, I think we're going in the second half or something,
7 to 13, the defensive slugfest it felt like.
>> Yeah, Josh Allen completed 12 passes, guys.
>> He also out and they scored 37.
>> He out ran James Cook, he had 121 rushing yards.
>> [LAUGH]
>> It was a crazy crazy game.
>> The offense was Josh Allen and James Cook running.
>> And then on the other side, 24 targets for Pukinakua, 24.
>> It could not be more imbalanced of the leading.
The most targets on the Buffalo Bills that I'm seeing would be Tide Johnson at 4.
Khalil Shakir had 3, and then Tide and Superstar from Weeks 1 and 2.
>> Yeah, I remember him.
>> Ran 82% of the routes that you wish you started Kyle Pitts this week, Mike.
>> Yeah, that would have been more points than one catch for seven yards.
>> Yeah, I mean, Mike is, what do you do with this?
>> I will talk about it, I mean, it's waver day, we got the Monday night football game.
>> Big show, but yesterday was not all Monday night football, we had a event that
trended top 10 on Twitter, thank you, Footclin.
Thank you for participating in Andy's hole, hashtag Andy's hole,
which got up to top 10.
We were number nine in the United States of America.
That was a good time on X.
>> Yeah, we headed out at about, I don't know, I started at like 10.45 yesterday morning
on this very easy task, hitting a hole in one.
>> So easy.
>> And people don't know really what happened.
They were following along.
There was a torrential downpour at one point, this dog was out there.
>> Just swinging in the rain, we're all under canopy.
>> I was hiding as much as I could.
>> I don't want to be wet, he's soaking wet out there.
>> What is rain?
>> Swinging, you swung for basically 10 hours.
>> Yeah.
>> Thousands, 12,000, over 2,300 shots, body, no longer working.
>> How's your hand?
>> A couple blister, they feel broken.
>> You were, my left thumb is numb.
>> You were, like, just numb.
>> I want to show, we're going to show the YouTube, go to youtube.com/fantasyfootballer.
This is Andy at the end of the night, the last shot.
>> Yeah, a lot of close calls.
>> You golfed absolutely, you blew my mind.
You were golfing so well that we were really upset on the green.
We're like, this guy sucks and in the nicest way.
You were putting everything by that hole.
>> It's hard to get in some hashtags.
>> It is.
>> Yeah, it was a, it was a difficult trial to try to shoot that many shots.
And for those that have asked, I saw on Twitter, it was about 130 yards out.
And anyways, we got, we have a clip.
>> Andy at the end of the night, his, his couple final swings, we're going to smell it.
>> I don't think I got it left.
My left ankle has started hurting for no reason.
>> Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on.
>> We are watching his fall in one that he got at the end of the night on the 2,399 shot.
>> It was unbelievable.
He's a king, a king of them men on, unreal.
>> My God, I still don't believe it.
>> My God, my God, my God, my God, my God.
>> You have to go watch this.
>> Where are you going?
>> We realize this is terrible podcast audio.
So please go to YouTube if you want to see this video, just people scream.
>> Also, if you didn't, couldn't tell they went in the hole.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, yeah, hold on.
>> Andy Paul, we're the greatest fan of mine.
>> I do have the official, that's all marked up.
>> Hole in one, 10, 12, 20, 26.
>> We are going to be putting together a full video of the day.
>> I can't, it was worth it.
>> It was worth it, the stories, the, the, the, the, you will want to see this video.
So check that out, make sure you subscribe.
I know we're a fantasy football show, but, but this is a moment, you just made a hole in
one when you said you could, after 2400 shots, it's, it's an achievement of mankind.
>> Well, and shout out to the crew who kept me positive, despite the body breaking down
over 10 hours and 2,399 shots, I still to this moment where you can believe you did it.
>> Do not believe that that ball went in the hole.
>> I didn't believe it until Mike ran all the way down the hill, and he looked into the,
into the hole.
>> I had to make sure it was in any hole.
>> In any hole.
>> Siananigans.
>> And, I don't know what these people were doing.
>> So, we had to beg this dog to stop and take five minute breaks here and there, and
get some electrolytes.
And I, I don't think he rested more than 20 minutes over the whole 10 hours.
>> Yeah.
>> Combined.
>> I had one bathroom break, which probably meant I wasn't drinking enough, but, but we got
it done.
>> Yeah, enjoy the video, Matt's going to put something fun together to show the highlights
of that day, but my goodness, what, what a Monday night.
And we were watching the Monday night football game, Mike was giving play by play, the, the
night was magical.
So, there you go.
We had to reveal that, because I wasn't going to keep that in.
>> No.
>> There was no way I wasn't going to tell what happened after the end of the night.
>> After you made a hole in one?
>> After the hole in one.
>> Unbelievable.
>> And it was a hole in 2,399.
>> This isn't a Marvin Harrison trade here.
We got to talk about it.
>> Wow, we haven't even talked about it.
>> Yeah, we did.
We did yesterday.
>> Yeah.
>> I don't remember that guy.
>> But we, we'll transition back to football here.
You can go watch, watch what happened, you two.com/thefantasyfootballers.
Let's get into some news.
>> News and notes from around the league.
>> All right, Patriots running back, Trayvon Henderson officially diagnosed with a high
ankle spring.
He's going to be sidelined multiple weeks.
>> That's, oh, it's okay, they called him a fast healer.
So, is that really what they said?
>> Yeah, the healing speed of Trayvon is legendary, which might as well be Wolverine.
He's probably good to go right now.
>> Also, currently Andrew, high ankle spring and probably won't play for a couple weeks,
but he won't need surgery.
>> There you go.
>> Ramondra is suddenly hyper-relevant again after a decent week.
Brown signed Audric Estimate from the Vikings practice squad with the Junkins injury, day
to day with--
>> Junkins.
>> Oh, yeah, Junkins.
I'm sorry.
Day to day with an ankle injury.
>> Their backfield is just depleted at the moment.
>> Heem Sanders has hurt.
>> Yes, he is.
>> So, Gilliam McLaughlin.
>> Yeah, we can talk about Gilliam McLaughlin as a waiver wire pickup.
>> And he's an important one.
Guys, look, he's on the Cleveland Browns, everybody.
You may not know that.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah, he made one play this year.
David Montgomery, week to week with a groin injury, Texans have a buy in week A. I mean,
Montgomery going away in the acquisition of Marvin Harrison Jr. Like, this is going
to be a pass first, second and third team.
>> It's going to be tough for Montgomery, I think, because to my eyeballs, Woody Marks
has been the better running back over the course of the year.
And now that it's like, okay, we have to give Woody Marks everything.
If Woody has a couple good games, I think the backfield can flip.
>> Devonte Smith with the hamstring has a, quote, shot to return for week six this game
against the Panthers.
>> Okay.
>> So, he might be back.
That would be good.
Debo Samuel will miss at least a couple of weeks with the hamstring injury.
Brandon Cooks is the quote, next man up in the 49ers receiver room.
He had one catch, it was a touchdown.
The Falcons are optimistic that Michael Pentax will be able to play in week six against
the Bears.
There's also talk of Kayla playing in that game.
>> Did you see the clip?
I don't know.
I haven't dug into the context of it, but in the, in the huddle right before like the,
the game losing turnover, B. John's like tapping to a, it's like turning to a round
and pointing to the sideline like, no, no, no, no, you're not, like sub him out, it was
crazy.
It was, I don't know what happened, but he definitely turns around and points his sideline
like, whoa, two of us, two, it's like, that is so brutal.
When the whole team just knows and then you go out and throw the pick and he gets, he
still gets to be the back up, no, no, for now.
Yeah. AJ Brown. There's hope. Mike Ravel says that there's a chance he practices this week.
Okay. But it could be good. I mean, Drake May looking much improved.
I think AJ Brown will be a league winner in the fantasy playoffs. I don't know how fast he'll
get off to, you know, when he gets back, is he going to have a couple weeks where it's a slow start?
That's possible. But I do think come the end of the year. Drake May has looked back to being
what we hope Drake May would be. And he still needs a weapon like AJ Brown.
What is this news on Tyler Shuck coming through right now?
There it is. Kellyn Moore was asked directly. This is from Jeff Noick. Yeah.
Asked directly whether Tyler Shuck's hand is broken. Quote, it got banged two weeks ago.
And he's just wearing some protective layers because if he saw Shuck's non-throwing hand,
he's he's got the fingers taped together. And I mean, when it happened, you know, it's the
his hand took a pretty big shot. But I guess they're just saying, yeah, he's fine. He'll play through.
Circling back to the AJ Brown thing, I will say I completely agree with you
that there is a pretty good probability of AJ Brown being a league winning difference maker.
And I am very terrified to make a trade for him right now. Sure.
It's like you're still taking on a bunch of risks. Yeah, it's like the injury risk than the Drake May,
like, you know, Jekyll and Hyde, it's potential and, you know, more injuries. And I don't know.
Like I think that is true, but it would depend on the price for me. If somebody wants to get rid of
him, I think it might be harder now with the news of practicing and Drake May playing well. But
yeah, any other news we got? As you guys hear about, I made a hole in one. I did. I did. I was.
I realized that my even reaction on this show is, is kind of muted because I'm, I'm more tired
than I realized. I'm pretty like a adrenaline drop just now. If that ball did not drop in the hole,
I think we're doing a two-man show with Jay Gris. I mean, it really all of the pain is now worth it.
So you guys ready for the waiver wire? Let's go.
Waiver wire presented by T-Mobile. Alrighty. We are getting the Chiefs and Panthers back from
the buy. Welcome back, Ken Bone Walker. My sweet. I had a sweet melon. Ken Walker.
This week, though, burrow and chasing Higgins, the bangles on the buy, Ollie Gordon and the dolphins.
You don't have the lions. Jameer Gibbs goes to the buy. Almanra, La Porta, all those guys.
Goff has been playing well. And then the Vikings also on buy this week.
Between the injuries and the buy weeks, there is, there's significant decisions to be made
for every team. Most people are not putting out the roster they drafted. They're putting out
some other players. We got some big names to talk about on the waiver wire. So let's get into it
with the running back position. Trying to keep these two, you know, lower roster names.
But the two at the very top that are starters. Marshall and Lloyd Woodie Marx.
Woodie Marx is going to be taking over for a while. And Marshall and Lloyd finally showed a
little something. Maybe when every pass you throw down field works, that defense is less inclined
to try to stop you. But Marshall and Lloyd did put his shoulder down. Broke through a defender,
scored later in the game. It was an impressive performance. And you get Dallas this week.
Yeah, the one, where are you guys with these two? Cause Lloyd scored two touchdowns.
And the play was, I mean, that's the good stuff for football is when someone absolutely gets
trucksticked. But he was 10 for 31 on the date. Like this was not a all the sudden. Oh,
Marshall and Lloyd figured it out. We got the running game. No, he was a beneficiary of a couple.
Yeah, their offense was really clicking, especially with the Jordan love saying,
hey, check this out. And then he just bombs it down field to Christian Watson.
But, you know, he he's available in about
close enough. Close enough. I guess he's rostered in that. So it's less than that. But like Woodie
Marx, probably the better player, but his might be temporary. And he's going up against Jacksonville
this week. Yeah, I think this is a matter of, do you need to start this player? Do you have
Jumir Gibbs on by and you need to pick someone up to start this week? Because if I was starting someone,
I would rather start Marshall Marshall Lloyd against the Cowboys than Woody Marx against Jacksonville.
Longer term, I actually, you know, Mike, you, you just said, if if Woody Marx gets the
opportunity and does perform well, there is a world where he could use Sir David Montgomery.
Now, I don't think that's going to happen. I don't think either of these guys is a great long term.
Pick up in the sense that you've got a tough matchup this week for Woody Marx, then a game,
then a buy week. So it's like, you're not really looking at someone that's going to be great right
now for the next month. And then putting your reliance in Marshall Lloyd, who has looked pretty
bad. The majority of the year, the touchdown really saved them and he's got a good matchup. I'm
not like going out there and dumping massive amounts of of fab for either of these guys. I have
Lloyd one spot ahead. We have no idea what's going on. Josh Jacobs, we had confirmation that the
Packers have no information. We are approaching that week six. I mean, we're going into week six right
now, which is kind of the default starting point for a domestic violence suspension. So he will
be missing this week. That will be the six weeks. I don't know. At that point, they start asking
the Packers start going, okay, we need to hear something. Not that they have any control over it.
I mean, we just don't know what in the world's going on. Like is this a like a standstill because
the league won't act until it has the video and Jacobs won't provide the video and they're trying to
and they're trying to basically force Jacobs to show the video at some point in time or the NFL
PA gets involved. We have not heard any news in a while. I know Al Borland, a resident Packer fan
here has been befuddled by the entire right. I mean, you've just been like, what in the world's
happening? Yeah, absolutely. And it's not just not just because I'm a Packer fan, but as a person
that needs running back help on my team. I want to trade for Josh Jacobs, but I can't do it until I
know. It's just yeah. So starter wise, you might also see Damien Pierce starting this week against
Carolina, because Shipley and Tank Bigs, we are on an I R sequence still questionable. Damien
Pierce is almost available everywhere. Not an army, not an Arley, you know, Mike's got him.
Kendra Miller. What did he do last week? 10 for 30 and a score. Yeah, he looked okay.
Camara was not great. Would you rather play J would you rather play Damien Pierce, but that's
it's an unknown like his sake one was weak to weak with the hamstring. I would say he probably misses,
but there's, you know, let's just assume that he's out. Are you would you rather play Damien
Pierce against Carolina or Woody Marx against Jacksonville? Oh, man, that's really tough.
Carolina is such a bad team against the run specifically, but the offensive line injuries for
Eagles. Jacksonville is the team that absolutely shut down in Philadelphia is run game. Like
Damien Pierce was 11 for 14, but it wasn't all just a Pierce issue. I mean, a lot of it is, but
Jacksonville is just they are, they're very, very salt. Like right now they're number two
as in like they're the second worst matchup for running backs. Yeah, I think I lean Pierce
over Woody Marx. You also can throw out Kendra Miller. I mean, this is why I'm not dumping fab on,
like there is an avenue here where you go, hey, Marshawn Lloyd is a great start this week. Maybe
he is. You know, he was 10 for 31. I will say this 26 snaps in the first three quarters,
zero to Caleb Johnson. They beat the tar out of the bears. The fourth quarter is when Caleb
Johnson came in and got nine years. So like it was Marshawn Lloyd and there was clarity to who
Lloyd and Pierce strong. Yeah, but still vast majority to Lloyd. You might look at the snaps and go,
oh, at the end of the game, he was low or whatever, but that was not how the game was playing out when
they were in the game. If Lloyd was available on waivers in your league, which he isn't in about
half of leagues, I'll ask Al Borland this just because you were talking about running back depth.
There's a chance Lloyd of all these names that we mentioned is the running back for the rest of
the season for the Packers. What kind of fab would you be willing to drop out as somebody who's in the
trenches fighting for running backs? If Marshawn Lloyd was sitting there, how much of your $100
fab budget would you pay to put him on your team? I think I'd go about 50. Yeah, I think I think
Lloyd is the one that he's already on my team and he's my RB one. Yeah, I said like a Packer's
fan and 100% of that dropping 50. He's already on your team. He's your RB one. If I would probably
drop 40 to 50 if I didn't have a running back or my running back was knocked out just because
I think Lloyd has the highest odds of these players like Monty will come back at some point and say
come on, might be back this week. Kendra Miller has to deal with the return of H and plus Camara,
Brian Robinson Jr. That's a backup player like Rocheon. What in the world happened with Mike
Washington Jr. this week? Yeah, I was bizarre. I mean, Jenty was Jenty was so hurt. It was Dylan
Lauby. Dylan Lauby. And I was like, is he hurt? Like he had one opportunity, one snap.
And Ash and Jenties, Jenties clearly hurt, he is not. not look anything really like we and it's just this is how it's going to be for the
Raiders and eston genty and you just got to hope that he keeps getting all those checkdowns
because on the ground ashen gentry knows disaster will shiply just went down for multiple
weeks due to what a torn plantar fascia which by the way I think sometimes is the better
path to healing on that injury I remember that in the past with like Eli that's what's
on the table for genty he's dealing with plantar fasciitis on top of the ankle injury if
he tears it it will be a multi week absence that makes genty really trepidatious yeah
he's really everything is just pure volume for him at this point I mean like still good
in the receiving a but on the ground like he's a 3.3 yards per carry on the season yeah
that's kind of a story with him the last 2 years Julio McLaughlin could have an opportunity
in Cleveland they play Baltimore Baltimore has been good against the run oh yeah that's
a Sarah okay yeah Sarah McLaughlin available goodness gracious Keaton Mitchell Emmett Johnson
if you want to you know Emmett needs to be in a roster it is the season that you can cycle
them you can stash your favorite but if you have spots on your bench right now where
you're like yeah you have I have this low tier wide receiver who it like nothing's happening
for them there's no momentum start putting insurance running backs on on your bench follow
injuries it's like what if it's like find the backup to the backup as well like Damien
I put I threw Damien Pierce on my bench over this weekend and leave the record because
it's down to Will Shipling Damien Pierce yeah you always want and then if you have an extra
spot you want to take the shots on those backups Emmett Johnson and Caleb Black those two guys
are available in the majority of leagues silly which is crazy I mean by week for Kansas City
might have led to the number for him so but those two guys must be rostered in all situations
and then there's also and Roshan Roshan absolutely due to the manangai we know he's going to miss
a couple of weeks there's also a running back out there playing the majority of snaps
who had nine receptions this week that you still don't want to pick up which is Taj A
Spears mine receptions yeah the Titan you see I mean if you look at the first 21 games
of Will levis his career and camoards will will levis wins almost every category more
wins better numbers the Titans score mean 20 points one time yeah right now you're
basically targeting ten seven three you're targeting teams defenses playing Miami playing
the Titans it's wild charger charger I mean you're not wrong maybe Denver maybe and the Giants
but that's not that's because and Tampa right now with Jalen Danielson but we'll take
a break and we'll get into the rest of the positions here as we talk waivers heading
into week six by the way I was glancing like I have Bucky Irving right I he's on my team
and I was like well this is good advice here on the show maybe I should just take a look
at Kenny Gainwell and see if he's sitting out there he shouldn't be on a roster but
lo and behold he's my RB 2 Albourne that's what I saw Albourne and has Kenny Gainwell how's
that been working out for you which is what's his performances he's not actually my RB 2
but he's on your roster he is I think he was in my starting lineup this week he has two points
three points two points nine points seven and four RB 48 my team's pagan in there Gainwell
has looked nothing like Gainwell last year in any way he's been the least efficient runner
that I can imagine I mean he was golly is 2.6 on the year and you're like well he catches
the ball right he's got 11 catches in five games it's weird so only a guy like Al would
have a money to I mean I'm sitting there going like if I was trying to ensure Bucky Irving
it's probably Sean Tucker might be the way things are right now all right let's talk about
the very important wide receiver position here and a guy that we all have in the top three
of our waiver rankings this is my number one pick up of the week it's Jeremy Bernard
of the Pittsburgh Steelers who second round rookie yes I mean he he he has had like flashes
he had eight targets in week two four for 35 in that game but this past week nine targets
six catches 80 yards I believe the quote from someone on the team was like football just
comes easy for him and you no longer have Michael Pittman who's on IR you no longer have
Roman Wilson who's hurt you know they don't have Kenny Gainwell anymore and Roger's favorite
target so Jeremy Bernard when you have a rookie that has upside and potential to me this
is I don't blame you if he's number one on your list at all it's all positional preference
like what do you need most I think I have a couple running backs ahead of him because I
think those are more rare but Jeremy Bernard like I think he'll he'll be highly contested
on the waiver wire this week Jay and six for 80 opportunities Metcalf is just wet fart
of a wide receiver and I have Metcalf who would you start next week the process I mean
say you still it's right start Metcalf but what do you say and some other like just everything
in me would not want to watch DK Metcalf anymore uh gurney uh gurney you know Jeremy alone
uh yeah uh he's his name is spelled with a G if you don't know I know but you might
be going out there like searching on the waiver wire like where's this Jeremy Bernardo
here in about GER me um ERMI but he's he's a good prospect I didn't think my my notes
on him were plays the entire field and seems very reliable an NFL wide receiver for sure
maybe not a fantasy star but he's he's good and he's getting the opportunity um and they
they need him right now so yeah I think he's a good pickup he's not necessarily my number
one pickup um if I'm looking at a star because of Rogers is only production right yeah it's
not good just good numbers right no I mean for me it's just a matter of like the
depending on what you need other positions who might be available um there's a quarterback
available in like 40% of leagues which is mind blowing that should be picked up immediately
and then um I still think Don Tavy and Wix is a very good pickup he's been on the field
he's been getting the targets he's proven over and over that he's you know able to go
out there and put up a bomb touchdown or 70 plus yards get enough targets and so um
I'd rather have the Steelers offense than the Eagles offense right now so that's where
if you want to lean gurmy Jeremy well we have another update what no look it we need
to figure this out yeah I don't know this is from a parody account I I'm a let's be honest
with the people there are multiple places that say that he the name is pronounced Jeremy
yes so not Jeremy not three syllables two Nick Faribah who is a Steelers beat reporter
Jeremy which is how I was announcing wash your hands because you got want to get the
germies off yes right Jeremy the artist how I have always pronounced it but then all right
we were we were told by some places that he it's Jeremy yeah that's why I call him
gurmy but that you know that's the one in gurmy it's not spelled gurmy it's spelled
Jeremy yeah okay so Jeremy now we yeah yeah hey Jay Jay pronounce this word g-e-r-m g-e-r-m
gurm thank you yeah I got a point proof yeah yeah yeah goodness gracious so Jeremy Bernard
all right I'm going back I'm going back to Jeremy um Jeremy Bernard huge pickup I think
Kendrick Born is a huge pickup I agree with that because he had eight targets this past week
and in the absence of Marvin Harrison he had already had some productive games Arizona passes
a million times a game because they have no running game and look eight targets you can't
ignore that you're going to have the Arizona Cardinals and high over unders every single week their
defense is abysmal I mean they they they have given up 45 points 36 points 36 points 31 points
in a row so yeah you want a wide receiver who's gonna be on the field getting targets I I like
that a lot so born to my number two wide receiver this week yeah I think that is a huge pickup
and then some other names to remember I mean Don Tavine Wicks it's just been 50% rostered all year
and we'll stay there he always has the potential to have a nice game he did have eight targets this
past week we just talked about Devantesmith returning also Goddard's back and you saw how frequently
Goddard was targeted in this offense I I still I'm kind of Luke warm on on Wicks Jason I know
you're a little more bullish maybe just the opportunity every week a starting wide receiver
I just I know about Darius Cooper who's good Darius Cooper just went two for 71 scored another
touchdown how does he keep doing it I don't know I mean I you just you you can't project a guy
he played the most seven catch and wide receiver you know the catches on the year and he has four
touchdowns seven catch I mean don't
How do you not start? Right? No, but yeah, seven catches on the season is tough. I would, you know,
I think the entire season Don Tavion Wicks is going to continue having his role. He's going to be on the
field. He's going to get deep shots. So he's like, Jeremy is a player who we hope could break out
and his back. Then Cooper's going to lose snaps. Yes, he will. But the last two weeks without him,
90% and 85% led the team in snaps last week. And you get the the unknown rookie upside situation.
But I agree. Like, ultimately, the depth chart is going to say Don Tavion Wicks next to Devantesmith.
So that probably makes sense. It's just always interesting when a rookie starts to have success.
And so something to pay attention to. Jordan Tyson, what is your thought process
with Jordan Tyson? I mean, he's probably rostered in your league, probably on an IR spot.
I'm saying about 65% and we did get the word, at least the report was that Tyson won't practice
this week either. I'm just so I'm still not convinced that there will be like, I feel like he
could just be a roster club. He could be he definitely could be. It's just the the fact of he's
what? Where was he drafted top number eight? And the number eight overall pick who we don't know.
Who was our number one wide receiver? Yeah, I mean, he should he's an unbelievably talented wide
receiver. And in the short stretch where he was healthy for the Saints, you know, because he missed
the beginning of camp. They drafted him knowing he was injured. And then he comes back and we're
just seeing highlight reel after highlight reel him. Moss in these guys and and break in the ankles.
It just just looked like I was like, oh my gosh, I have to have him on my team. And then he
reactivates the hamstring that he's dealt with forever. So it's it's it's definitely could be a roster
clog. He could very well come back finally after you roster him for the next three weeks. And then
re-anger the hamstring. He could be worthless. But I don't think there's a lot of people if you play
fantasy for upside. I don't think there's a lot of people on the waiver wire who's like, there's a
world where he comes back and him and a lobby are just dominating. Shuck in the offense that plays
fast. And all of a sudden you've got a top 15 wide receiver. That's just not usually in the cards.
Yeah, that's interesting because I think the one real variable there is it's like, I might not see
the path today. But if they lay or or a lobby got hurt at any point. Sure. When you're the eighth
pick overall, you have the chance to come in and dominate other players don't. I've been impressed
with Ryan Flanoi of the Cowboys so far this year. Plus the CD lamb quad injury, which we were told
at the time of the game. It was nothing to worry about. But I haven't heard any updates about
CD lamb. And if if lamb misses, then Flanoi becomes a very interesting play. But he was on 71% of the
routes. Like he is close to a full-time player. He's just the wide receiver three. I have a few
thoughts here. I'm curious your opinion. One, when I go in and I look at waiver wire pickups,
I am often times going into the week five stats who's on the waiver wire and sorting by targets
and receptions. You know, it stood out to me that Kenan Allen had nine targets last year on the
return. So if you are looking for the potential performance of a player, targets go a long way.
Kenan Allen out targeted Josh Downs, which it's annoying, but it happened. He had nine targets
his last game before going down to as well. So it's it's not going to be like. The nine targets
doesn't lead to no 115 yards, at least the 45 yards, but you know, that stands out to me. By
the way, it's another good moment to remind people as we walk through these players and discuss
the context and potential for them, you know, we have waiver rankings as part of join the foot.com.
We have custom waiver rankings just to who's like all of these players, how we rank them and who's
only available in your league. Those are all available in the ultimate dashboard. So you'll be able
to like import all your teams and see custom waiver rankings where the guys that are already
rostered are not part of those rankings. So you can you can end its custom scoring system, but
you can go take a look at that. I'm kind of done with Trey Harris and I'm kind of not chasing
Demario Douglas. Yeah, that's fine. Honestly, I think often Chism is a player that I would rather chase.
He I mean, he played 76% of snaps ran 74% of the routes and that was coming off of a 13 target
game. And this is the wide receiver for the New England Patriots second year wide receiver who
is finding his way into that role that has been like, you know, the the Edelman Westwelker
could be a highly targeted role. What we wondered if Dobbs was going to inherit. He's not playing
that role. So it's at least worth paying attention to a guy who, you know, has had 18 targets in
the last two weeks on what could be a good 19 targets on what could be a good offense.
And then Antonio Williams, I don't think we mentioned him yet. The rookie for Washington.
He was so disappointing. It was and I get going after him still, but he plays against the Niners
who have just been the best team in the NFL and then goes to a by week. So it's a it's a hard
pick up for me. At tight end, I think there are two super interesting names. Brenton Strange,
Pat Fryer Muth, both for different reasons. I mean, Brenton Strange, they have been involving him
more and more and more double digits the last couple of weeks. Seven for 68 is awesome.
One of the tackles was right by the goal line. And then the Muth got loose two touchdowns.
All the reasons we like, Jeremy Bernard's potential are, you know, that's there for Fryer Muth.
Trust of Aaron Rodgers. You don't have those other pass catchers. Mechaps sucks.
There's lots of reasons to like Fryer Muth this week. I'd only get it's going to cost you
much to get strange or Fryer Muth. And I bet you Mike is looking at both of these guys after three
weeks of Dalton and Kate Farts. Yeah. Aaron Rodgers talked up Fryer Muth's camp. All the
beginning of the year as much as he was talking down Michael Pittman, he was saying the best camp was
he was just talking about how good Fryer Muth and Roman Wilson were this camp. And so if you want
a guy, we saw it, right? He trusted Kenny Gainwell last year and then he threw it to him a ton.
I think Fryer Muth is a fine pickup. And also Darren Waller off of buy. So that's in the rear
view mirror. You don't have to deal with a buy week going forward. You know, he's he's been
used around the goal line. Had a couple big performances. And you know, if Bryce Young is
balling out, you could do worse. I want to put Mike on the spot as a quick D tour question right here.
Because the buy weeks are happening. Ken Walker is now through his buy. Oh, this this. So this
question popped up. And I thought it was a great one. Oh, I can't wait to hear Mike answer it.
So would you trade B. John Robinson away who has not yet had his buy
to get Ken bone Walker who has had his buy? Would you make that trade? And I feel like these two
guys have been kind of interlinked on the trading talk. Sure. For a while, obviously the Falcons with
pinnocks have looked very good. But I mean, Ken Walker is setting setting a new standard.
Yeah, it's it's pretty it's pretty tough here to figure this out. I'm trying to look at
schedules. I mean, you do. I mean, in essence, you get one. You do you get a of Ken Walker.
You get a bonus game. Get an extra game of the guy who is outscoring B. John by like three and a
half fantasy points a week so far. Yeah. I was I went and looked at the game logs for B. John
and he's he's awesome. Yeah. And I went and looked at him for Ken Walker. And they're out of
this world. Yeah, saw that honestly between the two of those guys. And we're very early. We're
through five weeks. I'm looking at weeks 15 through 17. I know for those two players in particular.
So I but I always I've already know them. I already know the week 16. I looked at this is
watching right in week 16. Beach on his Washington, Tampa, New Orleans. Yeah. So that's that's not bad.
That's not bad. And then Ken Walker is Patriots San Francisco chargers. Those are work. That's
worse. That's that is worse. That's worse. But you get but you get an extra game to get to the playoffs.
And obviously I don't know if those matchups are overwhelming. Like if you throw
Minnesota. It's so good. I know, dude. I look I look because I always think about this trade
with you and me because you are the Ken bone man. Yes. And I and I'm looking at and I just don't
ever know what I would do if you had the guts to send that to me. Yeah. I don't know what I would
I don't know what I would do. I see B. John's jersey up over my shoulder. B. John has by the way
they gave me the stick. Yeah, they gave me the flag stick and the flag for the whole of one over
there at grass clippings. So you just have to shoot the ball 2400 times it's it. And you get a
free stick and it's Roy and pay them tons of money to rent it and everything. But B. John is like
B. John's like 40 yards. 40 rushing yards ahead of Kenneth Walker with an extra game. Yeah.
No, I think I think I would take the Ken Walker side. But it's an interesting conversation.
The I think the biggest fear to me is just we've seen Kenneth Walker injured plenty of times
in his career. And B. John is you know a young iron man at this point either player could get injured.
Sure. That's like my only consideration is just I don't think the wheels fall. You know I just
don't think you have to have Brian Robinson and him and Johnson for these guys. Yeah, it's
regardless. By the way, Higby Kyle pits mayor the other three names. Higby is a great start this
week against the Arizona Cardinals. Oh, yeah. I mean, look what Laporta did last week. Yeah.
He was the start of the week last week and killed it.
everybody. And then you buy into any of the Kyle pits resurgence five for 42 got into the
end zone. Or do you just just ignore the player? I think I ignore it. All right, let's take
a break. We'll talk defenses quarterback streamers as we continue the way we are. All right,
defensive options this week. There are a ton of matchups I love. I mean, New England
takes on the jets. New England's defense has been stepping up in a big way. Shut down
the the Raiders who had been moving the ball Kansas City off the buy against the chargers.
Remember Andy reads numbers off the buy weeks. Yes. And then combine it with being at home.
And then combine it with the chargers. And no, I mean, that's, is that the best start of
the week? It might be there. It might be the best defensive start. I mean, the Colts,
the Colts are, they get the privilege of playing the Tennessee Titans. And they're not going
to score a lot of points. Pittsburgh plays Tampa Bay with Jlon Daniels. I love that
start. Uh huh. Baltimore takes on Cleveland Cleveland takes on Baltimore. If there's
no Lamar, both might be viable. San Francisco's defense was out of control last week. San Francisco's
defense is only 30% rostered. And I know that they've lost all their players, but you just
have to give unbelievable mad props to the Niners and Shanahan. They're, they're, they're
done. They're unbelievable. It's just crazy that they've, they've lost all of their players.
And I think Shanahan probably would have spiked the ball if he was the head coach of the,
you know, Washington commanders. I have a feeling you would have pulled that off. Yeah.
So yeah, those are the big names on the defensive side. Do you see the Gaffa last night in
the, the coaching? No, what happened last night? Well, I was, it was hitting. Yeah, you're,
you're hitting a few golf balls at the end of the game to kick the field goal that won the
game for, for the bills. Yeah. They could have taken two knees to have the clock basically
run out and then kick the field goal. Oh, and they left time on the clock. They left
a, they left like tons of time on the clock, where if they had missed the field goal, bring
the Madden kid in here. You could lose the game so easily. A random kid on Madden can handle
the clock better than these guys. I mean, Nick Seriani this week. I, I don't blame Seriani
for that one. That was, I mean, that's on your specialty. Yes. That's on. That's funny
because when, when the kick happened, it was like, the announcers made it sound like a
good decision because they're like, Oh, you got to, you got to make them feel that so
you lose this time off the clock. You know what I mean? Cause you kick it out of the back
of the end zone. You get eight seconds or whatever. And maybe that's two plays and then
after they ran it back 50 yards, I mean, ultimately, well, wait, no, they don't have a time
out. You should have, you should have, it's a bit of revisionist history. Yes, that one
you needed everything. Just play special teams. Yeah, just tackle a guy. Or don't tackle
him. Yeah, or let it or let one more second go off of the clock before you, it was everything
had to be I rarely, rarely feel bad for Seriani. And this one, I feel a little bad for him.
I mean, there's the rest of the game you can, right, go and go and see what I messed
up. Well, special teams cost the Rams last night. They lost them the game. Oh, McVeigh was,
you talking about the sub the sub 500 super super team. Yes. Yeah, yeah. And who, who share
a city with the currently owe and two in the NLCS Dodgers? Are they really owe and two?
I don't follow baseball, but is that true? They are clearly Jason. Who are they playing?
Who cares? Super teams out about it. And I am here for it. All right. That was the
waiver wire presented by team mobile. When you're updating your roster right before kickoff,
you've got coverage. You can count on just another reason. Game days are better with team
mobile. Check it out at T mobile.com/membership full stream ahead. Full stream ahead. I am, you
know, I'm going to let you guys go first. Jason, why don't you start? You're the lowest
rostered streamer. Sure. My guy is widely available, but I will say this, you're going to have
a good time. Yeah. You will have a good time first. Yeah. Yeah. No, always it starts with
a couple picks. I'm talking about James Winston. It'll feel a lot like the hole in one challenge.
Yeah. You got to stick with it. You got us and I'm also I'm talking to Matt Nagy as well.
Okay. Don't pull them because there is always the world where
you throw three picks and you and you pull them for nine or 18 now. But if James plays
whole game, he's going to end up with so many counting stats. It's all he does. He's going
to throw for 300 yards. He might throw for three touchdowns. And this is a great matchup
against the Saints. Their pace of play. We'd target these games. I love it. That being
said, I know that the other two guys are more roster, but specifically Mike, your start
of the week is my number one waiver wire pickup overall. Interesting. By a mile, he's rostered
most leagues, but he's still available in what 37% of leagues. The next two weeks, he's
a weak winner. It is Jordan love. AKA Mr. Check this out. Check this out. Check this out.
I don't know. Did they did they figure something out? And it might have just been the bears.
It might have just been the bears. I don't know. It's a packers. We've had a couple of
games out there where we thought people figured it out. The Dallas Cowboy game, you're going
to want pieces of this. The Cowboy's defense is 31st and EPA per dropback, 32nd and drop
back success rate. Like this, they're so bad. And based off of the heating up of Jordan
love last week, I'm pretty excited to if I if I like, I got them on my teams or, you
know, just checking the waiver wire because about about 40%. He's there. The next three
weeks, he plays the 26th worst defense for fantasy quarterbacks, the 31st worth defense,
worst defense for quarterbacks and the 27th worst defense for quarterbacks for fantasy
purposes. Like you're going to have a real nice time throwing the ball. And Stafford
is the QB two for a lot of teams out there. He started in far fewer leagues than he's
rostered in. And so I want to throw Stafford out there as they must start this week against
Arizona. I think what's crazy right now is Stafford is averaging like 48 pass attempts
of game, which is wild. And Arizona, they can, you know, they can find their way into
the end zone a few times. Aaron Donald looking forward to facing the Cardinals this week.
Got his first sack last night. But implied point total of 33 this week. I'll throw Stafford
in there as a final consideration for you if there's an opportunity to either get him
or just play him over somebody else. Stafford's lined up here for a long time before the
playoffs. You got Arizona Raiders, Chargers, Washington, Arizona, Green Bay, this is after
the by week, Green Bay, Kansas City. And then you then in your week 14, though, San Francisco
and in the middle of your playoffs is Seattle. Yeah, and if you're a week 18, let's Seattle
Tampa Seattle for your three playoff weeks, which is crazy. But yeah, I mean he's been like
he's, he's been much better than people realize he's been the quarterback for three weeks.
Yeah. Puka helps a lot. And then Adams around the goal line is unstoppable. They just,
they scheme up the McVeigh combo with Adams, just ability to high point a ball, two touchdowns
last night for Adams. He had a good game. It wasn't 24 targets. It was seven, but he had
a big game. So tomorrow we're going to do a fantasy draft redo the top 24 picks and
preview the Thursday night game because football never stops. And then we have starts of the
week matchup previews on Thursday and matchups and fantasy face off on Friday. So do not
miss a minute of it. Justin Herbert through the ball 24 times. Puka had 24 targets.
Oh, that's crazy. Yeah. Josh Allen threw it 19. Oh my gosh. Puka had more targets than
Josh Allen. There was no productive wide receiver for the bale's really other than Khalil
Shakir had an overtime play that brought him down to the 20 before by the way we didn't
talk about this. But James Cook fumbled twice. Sure. James Cook fumbled twice last night.
11 fumbled. He does have a fumbling problem. And they, I mean, it's funny like scataboo
and James Cook were 100% going to lose their team the game and then bailed out. So that
would have been more and more and more of a story. But that is going to do it. I need
to go to sleep. That is going to do it for today's show. We'll be back tomorrow. Thank
you for tuning in and supporting Andy's whole. And, uh, yeah. Enjoy the week. Good luck
