Week 6 Start Sit Advice (Part 2) | Sneaky Starts & Players to BENCH (10/16 Fantasy Football Podcast)

The Fantasy Football Today segment highlights several key matchups and player evaluations throughout the NFL season. Central to the analysis is the Denver Broncos' offensive collapse under quarterback Bo Nix, who ranks among the worst in the NFL in pass efficiency and yardage, with a 2.9-yard average per play and minimal offensive output. This instability makes players like Jalen Waddell a risky but potentially valuable flex option, especially as high-powered defenses force the Broncos into early throws. The Giants–Saints matchup is named the “game of the week” due to its rare alphabetical proximity and high fantasy value, with Cam Skadaboo emerging as a must-start running back given the Saints’ weakness in run defense. In other games, the Bears–Falcons game features Caleb Williams, whose inconsistent play and team defense make receivers like Burden and Odunze viable flex options. The Panthers–Eagles game presents a high-risk, high-reward scenario with Bryce Young, who may thrive in a shootout environment despite defensive pressures. Multiple teams face injury concerns, including key offensive linemen and receivers, which limits roster predictability. Overall, the segment emphasizes cautious, flexible approaches to roster construction, prioritizing players with consistent targets and matchups where defenses are vulnerable. The analysis underscores how quarterback performance, defensive schemes, and injury reports shape fantasy outcomes, urging fans to avoid overreliance on traditional rankings and instead adapt based on real-time game dynamics.

This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports. What a play! Can you believe this? It's a no-like game. It's time to dominate your fantasy league. Off to the races, and he stays on his feet. He's just going to go the distance. Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath. Welcome to the show, and happy Friday, everybody. Start or sit for six NFC home games, including the Giants hosting the Saints, Chicago, and Atlanta. We're hoping that the two starting quarterbacks are ready to go for this game. Carolina at Philadelphia. We know one of the starting quarterbacks would not be there. We did a bonus podcast on Jalen Hurts yesterday, and we really hope that he gets better soon. Arizona's at the Rams. Washington's at San Francisco. Do we like Terry McLaurin this week? And Dallas is at Green Bay on Sunday night. I'm going to give the listeners and viewers a peek behind the curtain. Dave, good morning to you. What's up? When that game went to overtime last night, I was really mad. I didn't want to watch any more of that game. It had nothing to do with fantasy. I was over that game, and I just didn't want to watch it anymore. I was excited because it meant that there were more opportunities for some guys to get stats. Unfortunately, none of the guys who I used in fantasy got any of said stats. So, yeah. Well, there is. It's such a major problem at quarterback for Denver. May I give a stat? Yeah. Let's take it off with maybe the most damning stat that I've ever seen a quarterback have. And it came from our own researcher, Doug Clawson. Oh, I was going to. This is great. Okay, go ahead. Go ahead. There are 701 qualified quarterback seasons through six games in the past 20 years. Bo Nix ranks 701st out of 701 in average pass length. 4.5. 4.9 ADOT. Oh, that's not. No, 4.9 air yards per attempt, not per target. 4.9 air yards per attempt. And in the second half, his average pass was thrown behind the line of scrimmage. Oh, man. Yeah, he threw for, what, 107 yards. Good morning, Jamie. Good morning. Let me. Okay, here are a couple more stats from Douglas Clawson from CBS Sports Research. The Broncos averaged 2.9 yards. The Broncos averaged 2.9 yards per play in yesterday's win. The fewest in 318 games in Sean Payton's head coaching career, including the playoffs. Their 168 total yards was their fewest in a win since John Elway's first career start in 1983. And Bo Nix is averaging 5.6 yards per attempt. That's the worst in the NFL. He has, this is amazing. He has a 13-3 career record when he averages six or fewer yards. That is the best all-time with a minimum of 15 starts. Again, 13-3 when he averages six yards per attempt or worse. All other active quarterbacks have a 283 winning percentage in starts with six yards per attempt or less. And he's 13-3. All right, so let's cut to the chase. Jamie, cut. Should we keep or keep or cut Jalen Waddell? And are there any other fantasy takeaways from this game, which didn't have a lot of fantasy-relevant players? I would think that in a 12-team league, if you saw Jalen Waddell on waivers, you'd probably pick him up. So if you can hold him, hold him. You know, I don't think this is an easy fix because this is, you know, Bo Nix playing scared and tentative. And clearly it's not Davis Webb. It's the quarterback. So Sean Payton taking over play calling duties isn't going to fix things. The hope would be, and it's probably going to be a few times this happens, is that they're just getting blown out early. And he has to throw the ball and push the ball. And then we get some opportunities for Jalen Waddell. Because clearly we have at least one game of Waddell getting hyper-targeted and being successful. So the potential is there. But it's hard when you see the sample size of what this is, what this quarterback is, what this offense is. And, you know, how much of it is still just a byproduct of the ankle injury and he's afraid to be who he could be. He's never going to be great. But he obviously has been better than this. So I think just looking at it as you can't start Waddell anytime soon. You know, we're still in bi-week hell. It's, you know, the start of it, not the middle of it. So you're going to have some tough calls to make when it comes to your roster. I think, you know, we got off to a great start with R.J. Harvey. And you got lucky with the touchdown. But, you know, they went away from that, throwing him the ball. And then Dobbins is going to kind of just hover in this low-end RB2 flex range. You know, again, another touchdown, another situation where a touchdown saved him. But just let's keep in mind, Jonah Coleman's return is coming. So it's going to get messy. Even there. So it just feels as if Denver is going to be one of these lost offenses that you just can't say, OK, they have this player or these players. It's probably a situation to avoid most weeks if you can. But to your point, what happens when they face high-powered offenses and Bo Nix has to throw? And you can make the argument that he needed to throw in the second half on Thursday. Just did the little dink and dunk routine. It's Arizona. It's Kansas City. It's Carolina. Their next three games before the bye. Maybe some of those game scripts will be favorable where they've got no choice but to let Bo let it rip. Scott Turner. This was the first thing I asked Scott Turner about on Wednesday. And he thinks Bo Nix is just overthinking things. And if he just, like, calms down and just does what a play is designed to do, he'll be able to operate and be a much more effective quarterback, at least throwing downfield. So, yeah. I mean, that's certainly possible. Just to your point about high-powered offenses, he threw 42 passes against San Francisco. It was terrible. Yeah, but he threw 28 against the Chiefs. He threw 31 against Jacksonville. He threw 34 against the Rams. And, yes, he was terrible against San Francisco. Sure. He's only had one game with more than 214 passing yards. He's probably the worst quarterback in football right now. But we know he does have a history of being better. So hopefully things change. It's tough to trust anyone on the Broncos. I will say. Good thing for J.K. Dobbins. He has two to three targets in four straight games. So he's at least giving you something in the passing game. It's not like Emmanuel Wilson last night. Quarterback's throwing to his running back. Yeah. R.J. Harvey led the team in receiving last night. So there's that. 31 yards. 31 yards and three catches. He was started in 24% of leagues. Dobbins in 46% of leagues. We'll see what the future holds for Emmanuel Wilson. It's not like he was a bad player necessarily last night. It's just the game script was terrible. They're not usually trailing by two scores in the second half. And he was off the field for much of it. Helani was in the kind of hurry up offense and he got the touchdown. But hopefully, Charbonnet has to come back next week. If he doesn't come back next week, he's out for the season. He needs to be activated next week. They could activate him and then make him inactive if he's not ready. There's a difference between the two. Helani played all but four snaps in the fourth quarter in overtime. 30 of 34. There were 34 snaps. He played all but four of them. So Wilson definitely got. That game scripted out and then Vilas Jones became a thing. It was it was actually smarter. The Seahawks to find some fresh legs for the short week. But if we had known that Vilas Jones was going to even play a little bit and get what do you have for carries like you? We might have been a little bit more squeamish on Emmanuel Wilson being aggressive with him as at least I was. I had him as a top 15 running back that went to hell. Yeah. All right. And Jackson Smith and Jake was pretty good. And I guess people Arnold is. There's going to be some talk about Drew Locke. I think. I mean, it could be probably a little hasty, but those two intercepts. Actually, I think about it from the chat. I think there will be fan chatter about it. Right. Oh, they're not. I don't think they are now. I think Kirk Herbstreet actually had a very good game last night. He made some very good points. And he talked about how Torrey Horton ran a bad route on that interception in the fourth quarter, which didn't end up costing that. And there was no excuse for the interception in overtime. And he didn't take the take. Darnold completely off the hook for that interception. It was a bad decision, but it was a bad route by Valus by Torrey Horton, who was mad at himself on the sideline afterward. He's right. Darnold struggling again with typical offensive line was. Yeah. And now the Chiefs Chiefs next week is going to be tough for him. And then after that, it's the Bears. It's the Cardinals. It's the Raiders. So things will lighten up. Yeah. Okay. All right. That's it for Thursday night. Football. This is where I do the theme. Do we do the theme on Fridays? I don't remember. I don't remember. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Sunday morning, 830 to 930 a.m. As we get you ready for the London game with the Jaguars hosting the Texans should be a good one. And 830 to 9 a.m. On YouTube dot com slash fantasy football today. And then just a slight programming change for this week. Instead of noon to one Eastern, we'll be back at 1230 to 130. One Eastern for a 30 minute pregame show to answer your start or sit questions. YouTube dot com slash fantasy football today. News and notes. All right. We expect Michael Penix. Are you guys still confident that Caleb Williams is going to start for the Bears? Yes, I'm confident he's going to start. I didn't like hearing what he had to say about his hamstring, though. He said he reached top speed, you know, that he's that he ran like super fast, basically. And he feels like comfortable running. But yeah, it was a serious hamstring injury. So we'll see what happens when he's out on the field. Jalen Hurts, we know he's got the blood clot in his calf, and we don't know a timeline, but it could be a really long time. It could be short. There's no timetable. Let's just put it that way. Lamar Jackson, mispractice. He still could play. We'll see if he gets in a practice today. Travion Henderson was limited in practice. Jamie, we talked about this game yesterday. I guess it's starting to look pretty good for Travion Henderson. Would you agree with that? And what are you going to do with Ramondre's ranking? Still going to start Ramondre. Still going to have a lot of confidence in him. I would not start Henderson just with the risk of potential re-injury or just limited workload, but it just lowers the ceiling for Ramondre. Okay. Is he going to be in your top 15? He'll be close. All right. And other running back news. Dylan Sampson was limited. Quinshawn Judkins mispractice. So, Dave, who would you – if Sampson starts, who's going to be your highest-ranked Browns running back? I'm sorry, if he plays, who's going to be your highest-ranked Browns running back? Sampson. Okay. Ja'Cory Krosky merit mispractice with a groin injury. Now, they play on Monday, so that was their first practice. He dealt with the groin injury last week in practice, but I believe he was limited. But I know a lot of people have been dropping Rashad White. Austin Eckler barely played last week. Maybe you want to pick up White, see what happens here with this groin injury. They got Monday night game at San Francisco. Tajay Spears mispractice with a knee issue. If he were out, Jamie, would that dramatically affect Tony Pollard's ranking? I think Pollard was around. I think Pollard was around 20th or so. So, Pollard's two best games so far this season came when Tajay was dealing with that ankle injury or foot injury, whatever it was. And, you know, that's where he saw a little bit of a spike in the passing game. So, look, any absence for any backfield is going to help. But we're sitting here talking about Dylan Sampson and Damian Pierce. And so, you know, Pollard's track record and resume, obviously, much better. So, not the most difficult of matchups against the Colts. So, he might bump up a couple spots. Saquon Barkley mispractice. Missed practice. Now, yesterday, we did our bonus pod about Jalen Hurts. And at that point, I had seen a report that said Devontae Smith was not seen at the beginning of practice. However, Saquon Barkley mispractice. Devontae Smith did get in a limited session. We'll talk about that shortly. Jeremiah Love mispractice again. If he's out this week, well, we'll talk about this game. But, Dave, real quick, where would you have Tyler Algier at the Rams? At minimum, RB21 in full PPR. I still think he'll share. I think we'll see Bam Knight play a little bit. But, I would imagine Algier will continue to handle all the passing downs, the goal line stuff, and split the rushing workload. Not that there's going to be a lot of rushing. I think the Rams can get on top of the Cardinals here pretty easily and force a pass-heavy game for Arizona. And that should help Algier get in the neighborhood of three, four catches. Maybe break a couple of plays for more than a couple of yards and be serviceable this week. Tom, a non-guy mispractice. DeAndre Swift practiced in full. Rico Dowdle practiced in full. He's probably going to play this week. Sean Tucker did get in a limited session, so that's good news for him. Alvin Kamara. What about Trey Tucker? Nope. It's just Sean today. What about Chris Tucker? Chris Tucker? Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth? I said Sean Tucker. That's a Chris Tucker joke. I got it. Everybody gets it. And Ashton Gentry is getting healthier. All right. Tank Dell did not make the trip to London. DJ Moore mispracticed. We're not expecting him. Josh Palmer had a non-contact. Jersey on. He might come back this week. Stefan Diggs mispractice. Josh Downs. Oh, did he get back in practice yesterday with Josh Downs? I think he did. I think he did as well. All right. Yeah. Check for CD Lambs. Good. Jalen Coker's good. Devante Smith was limited. He's going to try to play. He wants to play. We'll see what happens with Devante Smith. Would he be in the top 24 if he plays? Yes. Okay. And if you want to maybe if you're in a deep league and you want to stat, I can't say this with a straight face. But if you want to maybe if you're in a deep league and you want to stat, I can't say this with a straight face. But Demarcus Robinson for the 49ers, he could be back maybe next week. If you're looking at that, if you're going that route, I might go Christian Kirk had a second practice since joining the 49ers because he got hurt in their first practice of training camp. Kyle Shannon was actually pretty positive about Kirk. So I think there's more appeal for him. Nice. Full practice for Josh Downs on Thursday. Jamie, I have no idea what the answer to this question is in the chat. Has Dan ever seen Rush out? Oh, well, we got a new one. All right. I'm going to say no. Um. Yeah, I'm also going to say no. No, you have to say yes. No, I don't have to say yes. But yeah, hopefully we're not both wrong. All right. Remind me, Sam, our producer. Remind me to ask other stuff in practice. Rashad Bateman's been missing practice. Say Flowers was added to the injury report with a toe injury. I'm sure we expect him to play. Crystal Lave has been out with an illness. Guys with illnesses this early in the week usually play Mike Evans. The Ravens, Jacoby Lane's been practicing in full so they could activate. Yes. And A.J. Brown was limited. And we just don't know. A.J. Brown's status is up in the air. And maybe McConkie and Quentin Johnson get back this week. Darren Waller was limited. Offensive line injuries you need to know about. Not expecting Will Campbell this week, although I think he was at practice yesterday. And both Giants offensive tackles are on the injury report. If I had to guess, I would say the left tackle plays and the right tackle doesn't. That's a problem if there's no Andrew Thomas. We can talk about it. When we get to that game. It's a problem for the right, if the Jermaine Illuminor's out too. And then, you know, Dallas's defense might be getting a little healthy, is going to be getting healthier this week. I'm curious to see what that unit looks like. We still love the Packers offense, though. And let's end it there. Okay. Taking a break and coming back with one question for each game on Fantasy Football today. We'll be right back. Fall is here, and that means football, fantasy football, and, of course, caramel apples. You know, I'm a big fan of the flavor. So when I heard about the new caramel apple five-hour energy shot, I had to give it a try. And you get that sweet and tart apple flavor, followed by a smooth, buttery caramel finish. It's basically that classic fall caramel apple flavor in a convenient, portable shot. And I love this. It's sugar-free. Whether I'm getting ready for a podcast or taking my son to his flag football game or just trying to keep up with everything on my schedule, I love having one. And if you're a caramel apple fan like I am, this is a pretty easy way to get that fall flavor without all the sugar. We've got six games to talk about today, and I feel like, one of the themes is a matchup where one team has a lot of tough calls and the other team is super simple for, like, Chicago and Atlanta or Arizona and the Rams and maybe Carolina and Philadelphia now with the state of Philadelphia and Washington and San Francisco. But this first game is not like that. New Orleans at the Giants. One question for this game. Jamie, can you trust a running back in this game? They both, on paper, have great matchups. I'm going to trust Cam Scadaboo. I'm going to be. I'm going to be sketchy a little bit on the Saints, but Scadaboo's still a must-start guy. Oh, okay. The Giants have one rushing touchdown this season, but the Saints give up the most fantasy points to the running backs. Chicago's at Atlanta. Dave, what's your approach for the Bears' passing game this week? I would tread lightly, especially if it's Caleb Williams at not 100% back under center. We don't know what that looks like. Oh, we do know what it looks like when Caleb Williams does play, though. We've seen two games of that, and the receiver targets are kind of all over the place, unless you're Kalief Raymond. I don't have any of them as top 24 guys, I don't believe so. Flexes? Yes. For Burden and Odunze, sure, they're flexes. But Kalief Raymond might be a flex, too. I hope not. Jamie, start or sit Bryce Young? Start. It's a challenging matchup, but he's been 25-plus points in three or four games this season and gets co-corrected, so he's a top-12 quarterback. So I know Philly's defense has been traditionally great under Vic Fangio, but we've seen some, you know, leaky performances so far this season, so I would still start him. He's still a top-12 quarterback. Two of the last three quarterbacks to take on the Eagles have had at least 25 fantasy points. It's true. One of them was Case Keenum. I still don't feel like this is a good matchup. I mean, the Eagles are 20th against quarterbacks, but I think we respect them, as Jamie was kind of alluding to. We respect them more as a defense than with that number. Yeah, it's just, it's just, you also got to respect Bryce Young. the whole Panthers offense, and he's getting back Jalen Coker. It sounds like he's getting back his right tackle. And that Philadelphia offense is, I don't know how effective they're going to be with Tanner McKee. Well, is that bad for Bryce Young? I think that's bad for Bryce Young. I just think Carolina's kind of feeling themselves, and maybe in the late second half, they do go to a more run-heavy approach, but I think that Bryce Young will be able to find some numbers here. I don't hear the matchup. Now the Panthers are three-and-a-half point favorites. They started as like one-and-a-half point dogs, then got to one-to-one-and-a-half point favorites, now three-and-a-half with the Jalen Hurts. I thought John Breach's theory was going to get or not theory, his research was going to get tested here, but not so much now. You never know. I mean, the Eagles, they're capable of winning a game. They really should have beat the Jaguars last week, I know, with Hurts, but without a lot of guys. Anyway, Arizona's at the Rams. Dave, are you starting any Cardinals other than Trey McBride? I'm going to start. I'm going to start Michael Wilson. I would view Jacoby as a bi-week quarterback, and we already talked about it. If there's no Jeremiah Love, I'd be interested in Tyler Algier as a volume-based low-end RB2. Kendrick Bourne to be started in three-receiver leagues. Yeah, that's a good one, too. Yes. Kendrick Bourne or a Bears receiver? I've got Bourne behind Burden and Odunze for now. All of them are in the top 36. What'd you say, Jamie? Bears? Both Bears, guys. Okay. Washington is at San Francisco. Yesterday, we talked about the Steelers receivers, the Titans receivers, the Colts receivers. All of them are kind of tough calls, but maybe good matchups, that kind of stuff. What about Terry McLaurin, Jamie, versus Steelers, Titans, and Colts receivers? McLaurin is ahead of all of them. His ranking will go down if Stephon Diggs plays, but I think it was encouraging the way he performed. Despite some of the struggles for Jaden Daniels last week, given the fact that he wasn't 100%. So, a little bit more time to rest this week with the Monday night game. Probably chasing points against the 49ers. I think it's worth using him as a number two receiver, given the injuries and, more importantly, the teams that are on a bye this week. Yeah, and a Niners defense might be just pretty damn good. They're seventh best against wide receivers. We will see. And finally, Dallas at Green Bay. It was kind of tough to come up with one for this, Dave. Start or sit, Tucker Kraft. You got the music ready? I think you start Tucker Kraft. He's got a good. I want to start everybody in this game. I think it's going to be high scoring. I don't think there's going to be a lot of defense being played. So, if you've got somebody who's a Packer or a Cowboy, suit them up. Put them in. The way I thought about Tucker Kraft is I feel like I'm going to get a lot of Tucker Kraft questions this weekend. Bowers, McBride, Likely, and Kittle. Definitely ahead of Tucker Kraft. Because Tucker Kraft. In fact, looking. And this is the last game we're going to talk about. But if you look at the Green Bay receivers and their target shares, you had a graphic that had all their target shares for five games. Watson, Golden, Kraft next to each other. What you would see is that Matthew Golden has been the most consistent by far. He has had a 20% or target share or better in all five games. Christian Watson's been 20%, 38%, just under 20%, 10%, 25.8%. Tucker Kraft, his target share has been. This is not good. 15%, 10%, 16%, 23%, 16%. Only one game above technically 16.1% target share for Tucker Kraft. That's an alarming stat. But I named those four tight ends that are the consensus top four. Bowers, McBride, Likely, Kittle. You got it. Would you agree there's no tight end other than those four that has more upside this week than Tucker Kraft? No, I wouldn't agree. Who would you put there? Tyler Warren still belongs in that conversation against Tennessee. If there's no Rasheed Rice, Kelsey belongs in that conversation. Who are the four you said? I didn't catch Likely. Yeah. Kraft is a good start. I view him as more of a middle of the pack and maybe a little more. I didn't say stardom over Warren. I just said more upside. No, I don't agree. This is the game you want to attach yourself to. I would agree with the more upside, but yes. Those are the four. Okay. But you guys do have Tyler Warren ahead. Jamie has Juwan Johnson ahead of Tucker Kraft. Dave also has Juwan Johnson and Travis Kelsey. But that's like Kelsey, Juwan Johnson, Tucker Kraft are back to back to back, basically. So, Kraft, you know, the targets haven't really been there consistently, but the opportunity is great and we want as many players as we can in that game. And Dave, I got a new rule. You're going to ruin the game of the week for me because that was clearly going to be the game of the week. I'm going to pick a new game of the week. And that's fine. I can pivot. I can be flexible. Can you change the song then to This is the second best game of the week, yeah. Yes, just give me a few minutes. I have to figure out what it's going to be. New Orleans is. I mean, I'll tell you what it's going to be. No. No, you're just going to. Well, I'm not allowed to. Okay. New Orleans is at the Giants. Oh, I definitely have the stat of the week. Stat of the game for Saints-Giants. All right, Jamie, this one's for you because Dave already read it and he hates it. If you look at all of the NFL teams in alphabetical order, New Orleans and New York Giants are next to each other and they are facing each other. Can you name the other matchup this week between teams that are next to each other alphabetically? Next to each other alphabetically. Yeah, and not by mascot, but by location. By location. Well, you know, by state, city. So, Dave, can you? If I think about it, do I have to think about it? It's not the Colts and the Titans. It's not the 49ers and the Commanders. It's in the AFC. It's in the AFC. It's definitely not the game of the week. It is the Chiefs, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers. What a stat. And then the other stat of the game is. Chargers get the nod over the Rams because their team name starts with a C. Yeah. What about. What about. What about Patriots-Jets? New England-Patriots-New York-Jets? No, because New Orleans is after New England. Yeah. And the Jets are behind the Giants if we're playing the. Yeah. See, now you're ruining it, Adam, because you're taking the team's nickname and implying that that's part of the order that they're in. Well, how do we know for sure that the Giants are ahead of the Jets? Because who would line up first alphabetically? Dave Richard or Dave Ratchard? That's. You have to go to those next steps. You said it was by the city name, not by the team mascot. But you have to use the tie. Okay. The other stat of the game is that the Saints give up the most fantasy points to running backs. But I said the Giants only have one rushing touchdown this season, and they've got five carries from the five-yard line or closer. Skadaboo has three of them. Najee has two of them. Najee got stuffed at the one-yard line last week. Oh, man. Jamie, you said Skadaboo is a must-start. I want to press you on that, because he's been pretty bad. I mean, in the context of what we're looking at this week, yeah, he's a must-start guy. So you've got to have a pretty loaded roster to bench Skadaboo, which, listen, some people have Chuba Hubbard and a great first-round pick, and they're only starting two running backs. Or Jalen Warren and a great first-round pick, and they're starting two running backs. But given the matchup, given what I think the Giants are going to try and do, I'm going to guess Cam Skadaboo is still going to get in the neighborhood of 18 total touches, and I'm going to start. What's the argument for starting Woody Marks or Tony Pollard ahead of Cam Skadaboo? Hmm. Passing. Something to make with Marks because of the matchup. I mean, Pollard clearly is in a better spot if there's no Tajay Spears, so I can. I would agree. Yeah, if there's no Tajay Spears, I would agree. I would start Pollard over Skadaboo. I'll stop saying. I mean, you're in a situation where you drafted Cam Skadaboo. He's playing the Saints at home. Like, you got. We're talking about, I think, a pretty small sample size of people that can afford to bench him in 12-team leagues, 10-team leagues is a different story. Are you. You've got Skadaboo. Do you get a little shaky over the possibility that he loses work to Najee Harris, including near the goal line? Yes. He's got four fumbles in five games. Would it shock us if he weren't starting? I mean. But starting is one thing. Leading the team in carries and being in short-yardage situations is another. And if he doesn't have those things, if they go full chargers with their running backs and everybody's playing a third, a third of the time, and it's somebody else at the goal line, we're having a very, very different conversation about Cam Skadaboo in four days from now. All right, let's talk about Kendrick Miller then. And this is another one. I don't even know what to expect. This was the first time that he's just completely. He's gotten so much more work than Alvin Kamara, basically. Ten carries last week. Kamara had three. It went, you know, when the two of them have had the opportunity. So. And I'm going back to last year with that. So, do you trust. Kendrick Miller. How would you compare Kendrick Miller to. Who would you say? Woody Marks and Damian Pierce, Jamie? Dave said that. Yeah, he's behind those guys. I think you're. This is a backfield that if you can avoid it, you avoid it. You know, people that are with four teams on a bye and injuries may not have that luxury. So, you're looking for a flex play. Miller is touchdown dependent. Kamara should still be the one that leads the running backs and receptions. C.J. Donaldson is going to be a factor to what degree will. I don't think ever know until the game unfolds. Um, I, I'm, I'm going to look at last week and kind of chalk it up to Camaro dealing with a back injury. If you recall in week four, he left in the game and then came back in the game. And so I don't think he's 100% healthy. We are talking about a 31, 32-year-old. I forget how old he is, but early 30s-year-old running back here. And this run game stinks. It's been terrible since week one. So my guess is Kellen Moore is trying to find some answer. And if Miller is going to be a little bit more successful on rushing down situations, it's obvious. You talk to any NFL coach or personnel, member of personnel staff, they don't want to be obvious. And Kendrick Miller on the field is obvious. Alvin Kamara is not obvious. So we'll see how just the game unfolds. If they're playing with a lead, I think you'll see more Kendrick Miller. If they're chasing points, I think you'll see more Alvin Kamara. Now, that didn't play out last week. But that was against a defense that just is tough to overcome. And I'm sure Kamara's health factored into that. So at best, you're looking at flex options for both of these guys. I would lean slightly toward Miller just based on the health situation. I don't hate that one bit. Last week, it was C.J. Donaldson that played the most. They were trailing. He's their third-down guy. He's their best pass protector. And over the last two weeks, this is to your point, Jamie, about Kamara and his injury. Donaldson has started to get more carries. This is another backfield. Avoiding it is probably a good idea. But they're starting to split this three ways. You'd almost rather that somebody is inactive. And if it's Kamara, then it's, okay, now we know. Kendrick Miller's the running-downs guy. C.J. Donaldson's the passing-downs guy. It's probably not going to happen. Leaning Miller makes sense if you have to start one of these running-downs. Yeah, and it's just, you know, last week, Ja'Cory Cross-Kamerit had 11 carries, 82 yards, and a touchdown. The week before that, against the Giants. The week before that, the Cardinals. Cardinals running back said over 100 yards and a touchdown rushing. Tony Pollard, the week before that, 17 carries for 74 yards. This is one of my favorite matchups for running backs. But not the best running backs to go with here. Now, we've talked a lot, you know, off the air, Dave, about Tyler Shuck and this matchup against this Giants defense. Now, who blitzes the most in the NFL? It's the Minnesota Vikings. And they destroyed Tyler Shuck last week. Who actually blitzed more than them last week? It was the New York Giants. The Giants went blitz insane last week in the second half. Against Jaden Daniels. And it worked. And you guys are very different on Tyler Shuck. This is someone we definitely need to talk about here. Jamie has him as a start. Dave would like to sit him. Dave, I'll give you the first word. It's not just last week with the Giants. This has been their M.O. ever since Brian Burns went down with an injury. They realized they can't get to the quarterback unless they blitz. And they've realized that they can really affect the game when they blitz a lot. And I thought their secondary took a step back in week five. It's the game of the week. Yeah. The first place Giants and the Saints. It's a game of the week surprise, folks. Second. It's the second best game of the week. Hey. And it's a terrible week on the NFL schedule. And I didn't really have that many options. Your octaves went up there a little bit. And that's saying something. I'm surprised you didn't pick Buffalo, Las Vegas. Buffalo's going to show up. Yeah, but there should be a lot of good fantasy production. This game's going to suck. This is a horrible slate. All right. No, but starter starter set. I love how you sing the song. And then you go, this game's going to suck. Let me close, though. It's going to be close. Look, let's talk about shock for a second. And maybe I was a little too harsh putting him at 17 earlier this week, but I still don't have him top 12. If you use them, I think you could expect in that neighborhood of 18 to 22 fantasy points. I hate the way that he's played really the last two weeks. And you almost have to give him a pass for week five. Because he barely had the ball. The Saints couldn't do anything with it against Minnesota. But you know, that's what the Giants are going to do. If the Giants secondary plays like they did last week in the rain against Washington. And I know that the commanders didn't throw for a touchdown, but they had open guys all game long. Then Chuck's going to have a good game. But if they do rebound and they do play better than Chuck's going to need volume just to get to that 18 point level. So I think I can find almost 15 quarterbacks that have, that same type of floor, but a much higher ceiling. All right. And that's, that's why I've got Chuck where I have them. You like Chuck. Yeah. I think the ceiling is still definitely in play four or five quarterbacks this season. They've gotten multiple touchdowns against the giants 10th and most fantasy points allowed to the position. Um, him struggling against Minnesota is not really something that I'm going to say, okay, now he sucks because every quarterback struggles against Minnesota. Um, I think just looking at it, you know, Dave has the theory from our conversation yesterday about this game on, on CBS sports network. That this is going to be a Jameis Winston game, which typically lends to a lot of throwing, which typically lends to the other quarterback throwing the ball a lot. And this is the guy who leads the NFL in past times, at least going into last week. So I'm expecting a lot of volume for Chuck. It has been too bad down. It has been two down fantasy games for him in a row week four. We know they got two rushing touchdowns from Alvin Camara, which is not, uh, that's a rarity, uh, based on how this team operates. So I'm just going to chalk it up to bad game against Minnesota. Yes. This may not be. This may not be the easiest of matchups based on how the giants are operating, but I don't think this is an indication of this is a team that's going to stop this team from being what they are from an identity standpoint. They can't run. They're going to throw. If Jameis is, I think Dave said the leader of the giants offense or the identity of the giants offense. I don't want to put words in your mouth, but however you phrase it, something like that. Yeah. Um, then this is now going to be a shootout. And if that's a shootout, I'll take my chances with Tyler shock against giants. All right. So it's the only quarterback, by the way, to have, to have multiple touchdown, multiple passing touchdowns. Cause I don't think Chuck is running ever since he hurt his hand. I think that's changed his game and it might be making them worse too. Cause he's uncomfortable with it. Can't hand off with it. The only, there's only one quarterback this year that has been North of 20 fantasy points with multiple passing touchdowns against the giants. And with Stafford. Yeah. And all right. So the, yeah, I mean, the weird thing is like the giants are ninth in defense and scoring defense right now. Uh, they're ninth in yards per attempt allowed. They're actually eighth in yards per play. Play allowed. They get a lot of interceptions. We'll stop talking about the, this game in a bit here. It's been a while here, but Tyler, Tyler shuck is definitely like shuckered. Well, first of all, Dave, you like James better than Chuck as of now. Yes. And probably even, uh, okay. I think I will still like James if both of the tackles are out for, for the giants. And it's because I don't really trust the saints defense. I don't think that they're very good. No, they have a hard time getting into the quarterback. Uh, James, Winston or, um, Jamis Winston or Kirk cousins as well. We've done that since Tuesday, but go ahead. Winston or cousins. I have Winston higher as of now. Cousins. Jamis or Lawrence. Jamis. That's what I struggle with right now. I have more entire. I like Chuck over Lawrence to Jamis or Brissette. Jamis. Jamis and Chuck over Brissette. All right. Jamis is like a streamer or a low end starter. And then yeah, Chuck is one of the guys that they're very, you know, far apart on with, again, Jamie, you list them as a start on NFL play action. Yeah, I did. I, I just, it's for all the reasons Jamie said, I just think they're going to throw a lot. And, um, I like Tyler Shuck. And what I said on play action was what happens against Minnesota stays against Minnesota. I do not care at all about last week. And if, if they had to buy last week, we'd be starting him. Oh, uh, against the giants, you know, it's just that the memory of last week is in people's heads. So we're not thinking at all about what happened against Atlanta. Oh, Atlanta. Well, I think Jamie had it right when he, you know, Camara getting those two goal line touchdowns was really weird. And, um, I watched the tape yesterday against of his Atlanta game. And I thought he makes some big time throws. So, you know, I, I just, I think he'll be fine. There's only one way to get away from him this week, to be honest, in my opinion, I understand Dave's theory on this, but if a lobby sits. Yeah. Oh, I mean, I don't even know if he's top 24 full lobby sets. There's also three major injuries in this game. And again, we have to move on, but, but both giants offensive tackles are banged up right now. And Abdul Carter, their best pass rusher. And according to some metrics, one of the best pass rushers in football for the giants has not practiced yet this week. So Friday is a very important practice report for the giants. If Abdul Carter doesn't play, then I think you definitely get even more optimistic about. And listen to what it's worth. Vegas is telling us something too, that they have the saints at one and four favorite in this game. Yeah. All right. Start Juwan Johnson, start Isaiah likely start Malik neighbors. We talked about, Sam Scadaboo that leaves us with Devon Valey, Devon Valey or Terry McLaurin. I have them back to back, but I'd go McClure. All right. Let's read some questions from the chat. Tyler Shuck, CJ Stroud or Kirk cousins, Chuck cousins, Shucker Lawrence, Chuck, Chuck, Winston or Rogers, Jameis Rogers, Camara or bill half PPR. No bill. Please pick to Shuck, Jaden Daniels, Dak, Prescott you're sending Shuck. I am sitting Shuck Kendra Miller, Devon Valey, Xavier worthy or Josh Downs in non PPR. Uh, they line down Miller. I think it's just one. I thought you said to Bailey. Is it one or two? One Bailey neighbors over a Bucca and Shucker Stroud. I have Stroud one spot higher. All right. And that's it for the giants and the saints. Uh, did you guys want to start a DST? Sorry. Nope. Not particularly. John. Giants would be the one, though, if you're going to start one of them. I'll always bank on the guy against Jameis. Yeah. But it's weird. It's like the Giants, I feel like their DST has actually been okay, too. I don't buy their defense, really, but it hasn't been bad. All right, we'll take a break. Chicago at Atlanta. I'll give you the sleeper of the game when we come back. Welcome back, folks. Your sleeper of the game. I don't really necessarily believe this, but I want to point it out. Michael Penix, Jr. is sixth in completion percentage, second in yards per attempt, sixth in passer rating. It goes Lamar Jackson, Brock Purdy, Jared Goff, Trevor Lawrence, Patrick Wilhelms, and Michael Penix, Jr. in passer rating right now. He's playing well. He's just not throwing the ball that much. Caleb Williams or Tyler Shuck? Caleb. Okay, so we like Caleb Williams enough. He's around eighth, ninth, tenth or so in the rankings, and the Falcons are 24th against quarterback. Quarterbacks. This game has like a lot of must-starts in terms of Swift is a must-start. We're not expecting Menongai to play. Bijan, London, must-starts. I guess that would be it for the must-starts. There are games that even have one must-start, so that's saying something. If Menongai plays, would Swift still be a must-start? Yes. But at this point, we're not expecting Menongai to play. Okay. Dave gave us a little bit of a quick breakdown, I guess, of the Bears receivers and I don't know if you even mentioned Loveland, but you called them flexes. Four targets in two games from Caleb Williams. Don't start Colson Loveland with confidence. So again, just hard to argue with the numbers. There was one game where they just dominated running the ball, and there was another game against the Vikings in bad weather. Yeah, it's true. And Loveland was open twice for big plays. In that game, in that first game, and he didn't throw it to him. And Loveland was open on the play Caleb got hurt. Yeah, exactly. A walk-in touchdown. Exactly. All right, so I understand not starting Loveland, but most people are still stashing him, which I think is the right decision. 93% roster. Odunze or Burden? Burden for me. I'm a little bit more optimistic. This Falcons defense is top 10 in terms of most fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers. Dave's heard me say this stat a billion times already. I like it. Four games in a row. Four games in a row where a pair of wide receivers on the same team have scored 11 or more PPR points. And that's the hope here. There's nothing you can say with any certainty it's going to be these two guys. Because Khalif Raymond has been a thing for two games this season. Ben Johnson has not given us any indication with any of the quarterbacks that this is somebody that he is going to give up more or less opportunities to. If you are going to hang your hat on something, it would probably be Odunze who has 16 targets in the last two games. But that's with two different quarterbacks. So I think you're just looking at it and saying, okay, what is Caleb going to do? Now maybe the hope is not running as much because the hamstring is a problem and maybe there's a little bit more on schedule. I don't think that's something that you could say with any certainty because that hasn't been Caleb's profile going back to his college days. That being said, you know, hopefully there's been some conversations with just, hey, try this, do this, you know, keep yourself healthy, et cetera. This is a team that does do a great job. And we've noted this time and time again, surprisingly getting pressure on the quarterback. So I'm sure Caleb's going to have to move a little bit and do some things that he's typically used to doing. So I'm going to hope that what I've seen since Caleb's injury, you've had a couple of good performances, not great for Burden. You've had one great performance for Odunze. I view Burden as a low-end number two receiver, Odunze as a number three receiver, and Raymond still is a dart throw. I do not want to start Colston Loveling yet. Dave, start us at Kyle Pitts. That's it. I know he scored last week, so what? We know what he did in the other games. I don't think anything's really changed with his role. Or any other dynamic in the offense. Well, it was his first game with more than three targets, but it was still only about an 18% target share. Hopefully this game gets high scoring and Pennix needs to throw more. He hasn't really been throwing that much. And then Jamie, in this running back hell week, you know how it works. Brian Robinson Jr. has like three respectable games in a row. People start using him in a bye week. Then he's terrible. Can we go back to him? Like, how would you compare Brian Robinson Jr. to, let's say, Kendry Miller and Kamara? I'd probably still lean toward him. I'd probably lean toward Kevin Miller, but that's the range. You know, I think he's in the flex conversation. It's like you said, it's three productive games, two of which were touchdown dependent, one of which he scored three touchdowns in. So what are we expecting from him? He's not going to be heavily involved in the pass game. That's just not who he is on this team. He's not going to get every goal line opportunity. Again, that's just not who he is on this team. So you're talking about a great, a best case scenario for him would probably be 10 carries, maybe a catch or two, and probably 40 to 50. 50 yards rushing with a chance to score. So could they play with the lead against a leaky run defense? Sure, absolutely. I think when you're sort of, I mean, I have one team where I was, you know, crazy stuck at running back, and he started, you know, so hopefully he scores. But you just can't say it with any confidence that this is somebody you want to rely on. So definitely not a starter in a 12-team league unless you're just really, maybe a starter in a 12-team league or larger. Kendry Miller ahead of him. Algier ahead of him. Blake Corum ahead of him. I would put Corum ahead of him this week just with the hope that he's getting some additional carries. I would start him over Algier unless Love is out. Unless Love is out. Okay. And just, it's also worth mentioning the Bears are very thin on defense in the front seven coming into this game. Very thin. All right. Chat questions on Bears, Falcons, Loveland, or Fannin. Oh, man. Welcome to hell. Can you get Higby? Can you get Fryermuth? If not, go with Fannin. This is the, like, the, come on with this question. Are you serious? Candy corn or Reese's peanut butter cups? That is like Josh Allen or Cam Ward. Loveland, I really love Dan like candy corn. No way. Not only does Dan like candy corn, he will go on a 15-minute dissertation about why candy corn shouldn't exist. I bet he has very strong feelings about candy corn. Let's not ask him that. Okay. Loveland, Fryermuth, or Higby? You need a speed round for Dan to ask him those kinds of questions. I have Higby one spot ahead of Fryermuth. Odunze or Jeremy Bernard or Bill? Jeremy, if it's PPR. Yeah, Bernard. Luther Burden or Braylon Allen? Half PPR. Braylon. Loveland or Higby? Higby. Luther Burden or Tucker Kraft? Kraft. I might go. I think I'd lean. Kraft too. I would have to double check to make sure that's how the rankings have it. Luther Burden or Mecca Bucca? Burden. I'll take a Bucca. I'm going to do some more Burdens here. Luther Burden or Marshawn Lloyd? In non-PPR, I take Lloyd and everything else. I take Burden. Yeah, I'm with you. Luther Burden or how about DKA Metcalf? Metcalf. I go Burden. How about Keon Coleman or Luther Burden? Burden or Khalil Shakir? Burden. Burden. All right. How about Carolina and Philadelphia? Let's go to our next game. And we've talked about Bryce Young. He is a start. He's top 12 for everyone. Get the updated rankings on Bryce Young. Sorry. He is 11th for Jamie, 6th for Dave, and 10th for him. 6th for Dave. Okay. Yeah. Start Chuba. Start McMillan. Jalen Coker. Is he better than? Like McLaurin and he's better than, I think, any receiver that we just talked about in the last three minutes. So you're expecting big things from this offense, Dave, obviously. Obviously. It's a good offense. The protection is going to be even better. I think he's even getting his guard back. Damian Lewis. So the bye week was great for Carolina. Go out there and play against the defense. By the way, they're familiar with this type of defense. This is what the Panthers run. The same type of scheme, more or less. So Philadelphia's. I know. They've got some good corners. I know their run defense is pretty good, too. I think Bryce Young and the Panthers will just. I think they'll win time of possession. I think they'll get some good games out of their guys. The only concern is if you're watching on the screen is the number at the end. They're 38.5 total points. Like they're not expecting this to be a high scoring game. Yeah. And I know that's landed towards Billy and I get all that, but sure. It's you never like to see anything under 40. This is the best defense that the Panthers have faced. I think. I mean, you could argue the. Browns and they didn't do well against the Browns. So, and that was the game Coker got hurt in, but McMillan was horrible. And Bryce Young had his worst game. So like you have them. And Philly's defense. I know they kind of fell apart at the end, but Philly's defense contained a really good Jacksonville offense last week. We can talk about implied team totals to Adam knows that I've been tracking this on the side. It has not been a good year for implied team totals being accurate this year. But I will tell you that I do think that the number for Philadelphia is now 17 and a half. I don't know if they're getting the 17 and a half with Tanner McKee. I think Carolina will get more than the 21 that they're projected for. So do you like any Eagles? Right. Got it. Don Henley got hurt as good in PPR. I think he fits what, what McKee does best. And what McKee does best is I think he can read coverage as well. And I think he can make good decisions and go through progressions quickly. I just don't think he's got the, the arm to attack downfield and that's a problem. So if we're going. keep it to short area targets in Philly and they scheme that up, Goddard will be chief among them. You also have still two corners missing for Carolina. They're both on IR. So hopefully that helps something if Smith plays. So he'll be a low-end number two receiver. You can't consider him as, expect him to be as productive as you would if this was Jalen Hurts and everything was perfect for Philly. And I think even if it was McKee with the offensive line that we thought going into the season, you'd feel a little bit more confident. But there's a lot of moving parts right now. So just lower expectations for Smith if he plays. Do we have the word on Landon Dickerson, their guard in Philly? No, I haven't seen anything. Okay. If he does not play, that means four of their five starters from week one are not going to be on the field for them. And I think that's problematic for obvious reasons, even against Carolina. And Damian Pierce is a low-end starter. I mean, he's going to get a lot of work. So hopefully he falls in the end zone. I like him as the best running back on the Eagles, but I don't know if he's not going to be alone. They're going to have somebody else in that backfield with them, Jame. So I'm nervous about putting too much stock in him as a bye-week running back. It's fine. Damian Pierce is a burden. Burden. Burden. But I'd start Pierce over Hampton at this point. I would not. But we're talking about maybe a poorly efficient, touchdown-less game for Damian Pierce as a reality. I think, you know, look, Carolina, they allow 5.4 yards per carry to running backs. However, they haven't been nearly as bad since week one, when the Bears destroyed them. The next week, they were kind of bad against the Falcons guys. But then Quinshot Judkins, 3.9 yards per carry. Jameer Gibbs, 3.1 yards per carry. I'm not saying it's a bad matchup, but I don't know if it's as bad as it looks on paper. So Damian Pierce, gosh, there was a play where they tried to toss it to him to the outside. He can't get the edge. He can't move. He's just not fast. Officially, if Devontae Smith plays, and we're not worried about him being on a snap count, where do you think he'll rank him? Around 20. Yeah, right in that range for sure. He'd be somewhere near McLaurin. For me, McLaurin, Denzel Boston, and Ibuka. But behind Coker. Behind Coker. Starters at Darren Waller. That's it. Bye week tight end. Yeah, I'm curious to see what happens to his route participation. Rate could go one of two ways. I could stay. It's been like high enough last couple games, and he's coming off a buy and, you know, getting into the swing of things, or you could clearly look and see it hits. It went up when Jalen Coker got hurt against Cleveland and missed the game against Detroit. So could that route participation go back down for Darren Waller? And then it's at least on the table. I feel like he's there. Jake Ferguson. Yeah, it's that center bus guy. And you'd rather start Jake Ferguson in the game that he's in because it's point total in that game. It's like 137 compared to 38 half. Whatever Jamie said for Carolina and Philly. Bryce Young or Tyler Shuck in the chat. Bryce. I'll take Chuck. Jalen Coker or Basil Tootin. Coker. Coker and PPR. I think it's closer or not, but I might still lean Coker. Juwan. Juwan Johnson or Dallas Goddard. Goddard or Friar Muth. Got it. Got it. Does that depend on Devante Smith status? No. No. Younger Stroud. Yeah. Young. Panthers D or Colts D. Colts. I'll take the Panthers. Panthers D or Jaguars D. Panthers. Panthers. Panthers or Texans. Texans. H-Town. Pierce. Damian Pierce or Tucker Kraft. Half PPR. Craft. Agreed. Damian Pierce or Jeremy Bernard. Half PPR. Jeremy. Half is close, but I'd still go with Bernard. You do a few more Damian Pierce's. Damian Pierce. Jamie, you said you'd start him over Hampton. Dave, you. I'd start Hampton. I had both the Broncos running backs ahead of Pierce. I also had Emmanuel Wilson ahead of Pierce. How about Damian Pierce or Ja'Cory Krosky Merritt at San Francisco? Pierce. Bill. Starting running back for the Browns or Pierce? Pierce. It depends if it's starting running back for the Browns. I think I would take Samson over Pierce if he's activated. But if it's just, you know what, if it's just McLaughlin, I might go with. It's not going to be just McLaughlin because. Okay, but it's not going to be just Pierce either. It might be Carson Steele. We actually had some good moments with Tanner McKee in the preseason. Ugh. I know. It's ugly. Also, I want to make a point about the Eagles. J.B. Richard or Dave Eisenberg. What is that? Point about the Eagles Dave. I don't love when the lead singer plays the drums. I just. I get it. It's just, you know, I love the Eagles, but I can't. I hate that. I do think Hotel California arguably best guitar solo. I know it's two solos, but ever Arizona at the Rams. Jacoby Percet finally threw the ball downfield against Detroit. And he has only two good fantasy games this season. He threw 47 or more passes in both of them and probably going to need that because the Rams are really good against the past second best in yards per attempt allowed in the NFL. Jamie starter sit. Well, actually, real quick, just start all the Rams that we normally start. Well, let's get to Higby, but Stafford Kyron, both receivers are no brainers, right? Yep. Okay. Starter super set. I would try to set him this week. You know, he's coming off a great game, but that was the perfect setup for him, which is going to be the similar, a similar setup, except for the defense, you know, so Detroit's defense stinks. You expected them to build the lead. You expected a preset to have to throw late in the game. He did all that. He was successful. I just don't think he's going to have as much success this week against the Rams. And yeah, I am aware Phil Collins also does that with the drums and the lead singing. I don't love that either. So let's talk about preset real quick. And we will answer some questions that I've already been answered. But preset he was behind cousins and Rogers and and Jameis Winston on Tuesday. He's still behind those guys. Yeah, I started preset and probably like 10 leagues last week and I dropped him in almost every single one for either Rogers or Winston. Perfect. I'm sure you had a good week five then Jacoby reset or CJ Stroud against Jacksonville Stroud and Trevor Lawrence. I still start. I got a Lawrence a spot ahead of preset. Okay, reset or Sean Watson. I over Watson. All right. You wonder how much the Trey McBride exchange with preset may lead to him getting benched at some point. What is the Trey McBride with a yell at each other? I was upset with Jacoby preset and preset had to explain to him like I'm not throwing you the ball because you're being double teamed every time. They said that Michael Wilson and Trey McBride were double team like all game. I think Matt LaFleur said that I believe which the floor is he it's Mike Mike LaFleur be weird if Matt LaFleur start McBride, but I'll tell you one thing about the Rams man. They are awesome against tight ends George Kittle 12 yards Isaiah likely 33 yards on 10 targets Dalton Kincaid one catch for seven yards on two targets. This team is the best so far against tight ends. Of course, you're going to start yet to allow 100 yards receiving to the position. Wow. That's amazing. Yeah. Now granted some of it is circumstantial. You had the Kittle game where it was first game for him after the Achilles didn't play very much. You had likely with the quarterback change in bad weather, you know, so it's been a little bad weather. Oh, no, I'm sorry. That was in Los Angeles. That was the quarterback change. It it's just they're great. You're not sitting McBride though. Just don't expect great against the pass. That's what makes me nervous about Michael Wilson. Would you start Michael Wilson or Devante Smith if he plays? That's a close one. I probably still go Wilson. Just based on health, but yeah, I go Wilson based on volume. I don't think they get away from throwing to Wilson, even if McDuffie's assigned to him. Khalil Shakir is the only wide receiver with more than 50 yards against the Rams. Remember he had that long play catch late. Yeah, I one thing I love about Michael Wilson. He has nine red zone targets and he actually leads the team with six end zone targets. He's only had one touchdown this year, but I love that six end zone targets. All right. So, you know, he's going to be ahead of me. He's going to be ahead of like Jeremy Bernard and those guys. Is there any scenario in which you're confident in starting a Cardinals running back in this game? Loves out Algier low end number two running back. No, no confidence. They just allowed their first rushing touchdown of the season last week to James Cook. Yeah. I don't know what metrics you guys like to use to evaluate a defense versus running backs. I think you got to use everything, but I like yards per carry. Honestly, the best. It's a stat. It's not you've got to use all the stats that are available to you. That's one, but they're good. How many explosive runs they allow, how many negative runs they get. Miss tackles is a big deal. And is there consistency from game to game at this point? A defensive EPA obviously is a factor at this point of the season. The fact that they haven't allowed a lot of rushing touchdowns doesn't really necessarily matter that much. But look, the fact is Rams. Have a good defense. Yes. Hard to move the ball against that. You have a bad offensive line. You have a turnover prone quarterback. you have a situation where they're coming off a loss and they're pissed. It's just everything's bad for the Cardinals right now. All right, Kendrick Bourne. I'm looking for the Cardinals stats in here. And I'm thinking I'm going to find them in the fourth quarter. Dave is holding up a garbage can for you listening. All right, real quick, Kendrick Bourne or Devon Bailey? I'd go with Bailey. Kendrick Bourne or Cardinal Tate? Tate. Cardinal Tate. I didn't actually eat anything, by the way. Kendrick Bourne or Wanda Robinson? I've got Bailey, Bourne, and Wanda back to back to back in my rankings. All of them are number three receivers. Kendrick Bourne or Denzel Boston? Boston. Shipping off to Boston. Kendrick Bourne or the Bears wide receivers? Burden. Born Odunze. I think I'd take Odunze over Bourne. Tyler Higbee is 12th and 11th. Oh, no, I would vote Odunze over Bourne. Heath does not like Higbee as I'm 20th. You guys have him. It's the low target share. That's why it is like he's gotten six targets in each of his last three and 11 PPR points in each of his last three. But it's volume driven. The question is, are we really going to see a Rams offense that's going to take it easy and just run their way to a victory? Make it a simple, you know, 2110 type game? Or are they going to let Matthew Stafford keep padding his stats? I think they're going to let Matthew Stafford still throw. He won't throw it 50 times, but I'm curious what his over under is on pass attempts. I'm going to look it up. All right, let's go to the questions here. Bourne or Marvin Harrison Jr.? Bourne. Bourne. Rams or Chiefs DST? Chiefs. KC. There's a little Seinfeld reference for you. Adam is an anti-drumite. I'm not an anti-drumite. I'm an anti-drumite as lead singer, anti-drumer as lead singer-ite. Brissette or Jameis? Jameis. Algier or Hampton, if love is out? Algier. Yeah. You want to guess what the pass attempts are for Stafford? Yeah, I'm going to say 36 and a half. Jame? That's a great number. Thank you. I like that number, too. I'll stick with what Adam said. It's 34 and a half. It's 34 and a half. Ah! Start one running back in half PPR. Blake Corum, Tyler Algier, Dylan Sampson. Algier, if love is out. Sampson, otherwise. Sampson, if Sampson is in. And Corum. Yeah, Sampson. What do you think Brissette's over-under is? 43 and a half. 37 and a half. You nailed it, Jamey. 37 and a half. And it's juiced to the under. Oh, wow. It's an interesting interpretation of that game. Kendrick Bourne or Josh Downs? I like Downs this week. I'd go Bourne. Kendrick Bourne or Keenan Allen? Bourne. I think they're both right in that wide receiver three range. I might have Allen a tad higher. Kendrick Bourne or Jason Bourne? Jason. Yeah. You'll have more fun watching Jason than Kendrick. This is interesting. This is a very interesting scenario here for me. Who's more of an action star, Adam? Matt Damon or Tom Cruise? Matt Damon. My computer's about to die. So, well, not the one I'm recording on, but the other one. I might not have notes for a bit here. Let's go to Washington at San Francisco. Profile of the game, Christian McCaffrey. He is the number 11 running back per game. He is averaging 18.3 fantasy points per game, which is almost exactly one touchdown less per game. 6.2 fantasy points per game, fewer than he averaged last year. He is on pace for 101 fewer carries, 47 fewer catches, and 688 fewer total yards. He is on pace once again for one touchdown per game, 17 touchdowns for a season. The Commanders, by the way, allow the second fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. But running backs, pardon me. But you're going to start Christian McCaffrey. You're going to start Brock Purdy. By the way, I forgot to say, Matthew Stafford, I think he's like third for you guys. He's super high. Yeah, he is third. Brock Purdy is second. So you guys have Allen one, Purdy two, Stafford three, Jordan Love four. Heath has almost the same exact order. Drake May is fifth. You guys have all three of you about the same top five this week. The 49ers are pretty easy. George Kittle is a must-start. Mike Evans is a must-start, right? Yes. Top ten receiver, yeah. Is there a wide receiver sleeper, like a Brandon Cooks on the Niners this week? I don't think anybody that you want to trust. There probably will be somebody who scores or makes a big play. But I think just looking at it, as bad as the receiver position might be this week with bye weeks and injuries, you could probably find other guys that are better. Yeah, think about it this way. A Patriots receiver or a 49ers receiver not named Mike Evans that you would trust in fantasy. And I would lean into the Patriots, guys. And this is a tough one, I think. Start or sit, Jaden Daniels. Dave? Low-end starter. I think the fact that he ran as much as he did last week is a plus. It's not going to be the same type of explosive running against his own heavy defense like the 49ers tend to play. And hopefully he can find a touchdown on the ground. And one more through the air. And come through for that neighborhood of 22 to 24 fantasy points. Let's call it 20 to 24, not 22 to 24. Daniels or Shuck? I'm taking Daniels. Daniels. Daniels or. Yeah, I know you got Lord and Jordan Love better. Dak Prescott or Jaden Daniels? Dak. Same. Daniels or Mahomes? Mahomes if Rice is in. Daniels. If Rice is out. I think that's fair. It's almost weird that Ja'Cory Krawski-Merritt's in the top 24 this week. Is that just because. Yeah. Running back's so bad? Right. Yes. So would you start him. Which of the running backs from the Waver Wire show would you start over Bill? Marshall and Lord, I would start over him. And you said Pierce, Jamie? Yep. But not Woody Marks? Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah. Marks is ahead of everybody. Oh, yeah. Right. He's. He was not really in the Waver Wire show. All right. Woody Marks ahead of him. If for some reason Ja'Cory Krawski-Merritt doesn't play, he did mispractice on Friday. On Thursday, pardon me. Where would you rank Rashad White? High in flex. Mm-hmm. Would he be better than Terry McLaurin? No. No. Well, he might be, but I wouldn't rank him higher than that. So this doesn't. Okay, this doesn't make a ton of sense to me. You have Ja'Cory Krawski-Merritt ranked in the top 24 right now. Barely. If he's out, why wouldn't Rashad White be ranked higher than where you have Bill ranked now? I don't think he's as good a rusher. Yep. All right. I think he's. He's not, but he obviously would get more touches. No, I think you're right. You could make a case for him over Marshawn Lloyd if there's no Bill. But I also wouldn't expect. I would expect White to just have his role and maybe an uptick in carries, but not, like, dominating. I think Austin Eckler would see more work, too. Yeah, you would get Eckler there. It's a tough matchup. San Francisco is 24th against running backs. But again, the number that matters more to me, especially for Bill, is 3.7 yards per carry allowed to running backs. And they have given up the second most receiving yards per game to backs, but that was mostly R.J. Harvey. So I don't. This is a tough defense to run on. And. No Greenlaw. That'll matter. No Greenlaw will matter, but they've found some players on the D-line. Valdez. Valdez and Grayson Halton, I think is his name. Like, they're starting to, like, generate a pass rush without Nick Bosa. They're definitely doing a better job stopping the run. Fred Warner's obviously a huge part of that. Greenlaw is, too. I'm intrigued by the 49ers front. I think they're getting better. All right. McLaurin, we've talked about enough. Heath is not like McLaurin. He has him 32nd. You guys have him right around 20th. I don't know how to feel about him. I keep going back to this. They just. Jaden Daniels just doesn't throw to him that much, but he has these great. Like, sometimes matchups don't even matter with him. He was great against the Broncos last year. He was great against Seattle this year, scored 19.7 fantasy points. It's a tough matchup on paper. They give up the seventh fewest fantasy points to wide receivers. They've done well against the Rams guys when they were sleep-deprived. They did great against. They did pretty well against Waddle. Gave up a touchdown. Not good against JSN. You gave up a touchdown to Waddle at this point. You're terrible. That's pretty bad. I saw McLaurin's a starter for you guys, and then I'm assuming no interest in Chig Okonkwo. Not much. No. They were intentional about getting him involved last week, but let's see what happens. They were, yep. Yeah, you know what? Maybe he could get you, like, 10 PPR points again. And the Niners' DST is a start. Sorry to talk over you, but Diggs can't play. If Diggs is out, Okonkwo, maybe. If Diggs plays, what is that. Like, give me the. What changes in your rankings if Diggs plays? No, McLaurin goes down. Antonio Williams, I don't think you're even thinking about him. Okonkwo is down. I think that solidifies. Daniels is a top-12 quarterback. And Diggs is a No. 3 receiver. You could almost make the case that Diggs is better than McLaurin. Is Antonio Williams on your radar as of now with Diggs out? Low-end No. 3 receiver. Mm-hmm. All right. See if we have any questions for this game. Can I give you just quick stats on the 49ers' last three games? They haven't allowed a single rush of 10-plus yards. - Wow. - So they're doing a great job shutting down big plays against running backs but they've taken on arizona denver seattle yeah context matters yeah niners dst or panthers dst niners jayden daniels or bryce young good question bryce daniels bill or kendry miller bill as now agreed jayden daniels or drake may in four point may may rashad white or a browns running back of judkins is out non-ppr oh uh rashad but bill's got to be out we're saying that yeah yeah if bill were out yeah rashad white antonio williams or jacoby lane if he plays well he takes us out go find a patriots receiver you all right dallas is at green bay was gonna be the game of the week ruined it again dave called dac prescott a buy low on two wednesdays twins day show and honestly like his numbers mostly look the same he's as last year it's a little bit worse little bit lower yards per temp little bit lower touchdown rate like one game could change that but he more or less looks like dac prescott right and it's thirty six point eight pass attempts per game so and the cowboys look like the cowboys of twenty twenty five yeah but they are look they can get overshown back this week get von miller this week i forget a couple other players are practicing yeah that helps a little we shall see green bay fourth best against quarterbacks but they have not been tested so i've been basically just start everyone you know marshall lloyd will be a tough call but all four receivers are must starts jordan love is ranked ahead of dac prescott and dac prescott's ranked very high uh we talked about tucker craft during one question for each game he's like a top eight guy jake ferguson jamie start or sit i would sit him but you know touchdown or bust he his value was looking a little bit better at start of the week when we didn't know cd lamb was going to play uh now that lamb is in he just has not got enough targets but you know again 52 and a half is the expected total one surprising it goes over this these two defenses are not playing very well and we know that dac prescott will look for jake ferguson in the red zone so if he does not score you'll be disappointed i don't think we're getting a huge catch or yardage game from him but it could be a two touchdown game like we saw week two so one thing i'll point out about ferguson i'm not really a big ferguson guy because he was pretty useless last year when slam and pickens were healthy but he's had four to six targets in four straight games and his yards per target is 4.9 which is unbelievably bad so he should be doing better with five targets a game it's not like you don't start a guy who gets five targets but he should be at least better than you know the the combined nine fantasy points he gave us the last two games and like 23 or fewer yards in three straight games he shouldn't be that bad so uh yeah love is a must start start of the week marshall lloyd marshall lloyd okay you guys have him right around 21st heath has him 28th what are your expectations dave for marshall lloyd this is green bay's most utilized running back whether it's just anywhere on the field or near the goal line this season we know that he's capable of catching passes we saw last week he's capable of scoring touchdowns i don't think he's necessarily a great talent but in a game with projected to be sky high and scoring and a packers offensive line that i actually think has gotten better over the last two weeks better guard play that's good for their run game i don't think they've got a choice but to lean into marshall lloyd as their i can't say like primary or feature or any of those terms let's call him a 1a and he could be in the neighborhood of 12 carries hopefully he scores hopefully he finds 50 yards he hasn't done that yet in a game this year he's ahead of bill though right like by a notch for me all right i'm looking for some chat questions here and we'll end on that uh marshall lloyd or braylon allen braylon allen pick two parker washington george pickens matthew golden wow i'm gonna sit washington i believe i have washington the lowest of those three okay sit one christian watson tetero mcmillan zay flowers malik neighbors non-ppr sitting mcmillan i'm gonna sit flowers if huntley plays in non-ppr okay man lloyd or jeremiah love lloyd uh lloyd lloyd what'd you say can't trust love no we've all learned that the hard way oh boy haven't we ever all right folks thanks so much for watching and listening enjoy the games mailbag coming up in 30 minutes if you're gonna watch live otherwise uh we'll find out if dan has ever seen rush hour we're thinking no and there was a youtube poll and the audience is also thinking no for dave and jamie and Summary:

The Fantasy Football Today segment highlights several key matchups and player evaluations throughout the NFL season. 9-yard average per play and minimal offensive output.

FAQs

Yes, Cam Skadaboo is a must-start due to the Giants' struggling run game and high target volume. Despite some inconsistencies, he's expected to get around 18 total touches in this matchup.

Tyler Shuck is a low-end starter against the Giants, especially if both offensive tackles are injured. The Giants have shown a blitz-heavy defense, which could create opportunities for Shuck to gain volume and yards.

Jalen Coker is expected to be a top-tier starting receiver in this game, with strong performance potential due to Carolina's improved offensive scheme and better protection.

Michael Penix Jr. is a better starting option due to his high completion percentage and passer rating, despite limited passing volume. The Falcons are 24th against quarterbacks, making him a strong value.

Luther Burden is a better starting choice than Colston Loveland. Odunze has more targets recently, but Burden offers more consistency and is a reliable low-end number two receiver.

Damian Pierce is a low-end starter with potential, especially if the Eagles run a short-yardage scheme. However, he may not get significant opportunities due to the team's depth and defensive pressure.
