The transcript blends two distinct topics: a promotional segment for ButcherBox, and a fantasy football analysis. The ButcherBox section emphasizes convenience, quality, and customization, offering a $20 discount and free chicken in every box as incentives for new customers. The fantasy football segment focuses on evaluating team performances, player roles, and matchups. Key discussions center on the Dallas Cowboys’ struggling offense, particularly Dak Prescott’s inconsistent play and George Pickens’ declining production, leading to a “don’t buy” recommendation. Regarding the Packers, analysts question Josh Jacobs’ viability due to a poor run game and weak offensive line, though he may provide scoring opportunities through receiving. The Giants’ quarterback decision between Jameis Winston and J.J. McCarthy is debated, with McCarthy’s arm strength and better playmaking in recent games giving him an edge. Tight end Tucker Craft emerges as a strong buy-low candidate due to high target volume and favorable matchups. Other notable mentions include Malik Neighbors, Jalen Coker, and Devontae Smith, with analysts noting their potential in specific matchups. Overall, the segment provides actionable fantasy insights while promoting a meal-prep service.

What a play!
Can you believe this?
No, I can't.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
Off to the races!
And he stays on his feet!
He's just gonna go the distance!
Now, here's some combination of Adam,
Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
What's up, everybody?
Welcome to Beyond the Box Score,
Monday, October 19th, week six.
We're recapping it.
Kind of a dud last night.
You know, almost every game yesterday,
I think there were only three games that were not one-score games.
What was your game of the week again last week?
What was your prediction for game of the week?
Giant Saint.
Well, it was gonna be Packers-Cowboys.
But that wasn't really a game of the week.
No, neither was.
It should have been the Jaguars-Texans.
But even if you go back to Thursday,
all but three games so far have been one-score games.
But that makes it sound like it was a really exciting week.
But it wasn't.
But it wasn't, right?
I mean, like the Giants game being a one-score game was kind of dumb.
The Falcons game being a one-score game was kind of dumb.
The Jets-Patriots game was a one-score game.
That was a pretty one-sided game.
Sure.
You know?
Well, anyway, that's what it was.
Jacob, what's up?
Hey, what's up?
I'm sorry.
I'm calculating stuff back.
Back.
And here, just unbelievably bad stuff for Green Bay's backfield is what I'm finding.
Well, you know, it's about to be Josh Jacobs' backfield.
But how good is that?
That's one of our topics today.
What can we expect from Josh Jacobs as he is probably going to be there starting running back next week against the Detroit Lions?
And who's better for the Giants pass catchers, Jameis Winston or J.J. McCarthy?
No decision right now on a starting quarterback for week six for the Giants.
At what point do we rank Jalen Coker ahead of Tedaroa McMillan?
I'll tell you that in weeks one, two, and six, the three healthy games for Jalen Coker.
Coker has four more targets.
He has about 40 more yards.
He has two more touchdowns.
He is wide receiver five per game in those three games.
McMillan is wide receiver 18 per game.
But he's really good.
He just doesn't have any touchdowns in those three games.
And then we'll give you some buy-low candidates.
But let's start with the tweet of the day from Adam Schefter.
Schefter says,
If the Commanders lose tonight on Monday Night Football,
the NFC East would become the. the first division in NFL history to be winless in consecutive weeks
in which all teams in the division played a game.
And amazingly, two of the teams played each other last week.
So the only way for this to possibly happen,
for the division to go winless two straight weeks
with there being a head-to-head matchup,
would obviously be the tie that the Giants and the Commanders gave us last week.
But speaking of the NFC East losing,
the Cowboys lose 13-23 to Green Bay.
Has anybody ever said a score?
Like that? Weird.
23-13 the score.
Which team do you think is averaging more points per game,
Green Bay or Dallas, this year?
Green Bay?
The way you led that, Green Bay.
It's actually not even close.
It's Dallas.
They're nice.
I'm going to throw in the occasional mix-up.
I like it. I appreciate it.
Green Bay is 22nd in points per game.
They're back-to-back in yards per play.
Which team do you think has a higher pass rate?
Green Bay.
Has to be.
Is it not?
Dallas is first. Green Bay is third.
But yeah, they're both super pass-heavy teams so far.
I guess there's also been game scripts
where Dallas has had to go super pass-heavy.
Yeah, a lot.
Dallas, I think one of the key things here,
when you look at Dallas,
they've been an underachieving team.
I mean, even being ninth in points per game
is not really what you expect.
You expect more, especially when they're number one in pass rate.
They've run the most plays in the NFL.
Wow.
No, no, no, no.
They're number one in pace.
I'm sorry.
They're number one in pace in the NFL.
But one thing you have to consider,
they have three games this year
with 55 or fewer plays.
And I think that's holding back some of their stats.
Because their defense is on the field all game.
Well, Jacob, what do you think?
I think the Pickens manager is really annoyed right now.
The Dak Prescott manager,
he's QB 18 per game right now.
He's really annoyed.
The Givante manager is happy with the production,
but four games with 12 or fewer carries
might be a little nervous right now.
The Lamb manager is fine.
But what do you think about the Cowboys in general, Jacob?
Yeah, I've been saying bye, George Pickens.
But I mean, the further we get into this,
it's like it's not working very well
the past, the drop back game.
Dak has looked uncomfortable.
He was under pressure a lot last week or this last night.
Their average depth of target was super low.
Like their throws, the sticks are very low.
Like it's, it operates like what we're seeing
with like Caleb Williams was similar this week.
I'll talk about that with like Luther Burden.
But it doesn't feel like it's by design necessarily.
Like with Caleb, with Patrick Mahomes,
like it's by design, the way that they're playing.
This one feels like one of these offenses where
it's kind of like the Rams, weirdly,
where like the drop back game should be good,
but it's just not right now.
There's no rhythm or comfort with it.
I think what's most interesting to me,
and I love this about how the NFL changes
and the chess match is always revolving.
Like for a while, there's just was no solution
to stopping the Dallas offense and pass game.
And finally, some coach said, you know what?
Like, let's just put six on the line of scrimmage
and blitz six.
A lot.
And that's so rare for a coach to see at the NFL level.
Like you'll see teams send five.
You'll see teams mostly send four and drop seven.
But to send six at such a consistent rate,
like teams have over the last two weeks with the Cowboys,
it's really screwed up what the Cowboys want to do offensively.
And specifically, it's something that can get to Dak Prescott.
There were a few times I felt like where he wanted to get
through his progression and couldn't
because he didn't have time.
Sometimes he did.
But like Jacob said, there were a lot of throws
short of the sticks because of it.
And as far as pickings goes,
he's got a lot of throws short of the sticks.
It's gone from a buy low to me to a don't buy at all.
I saw some things that were concerning last night
from an effort standpoint last night.
And I think everybody saw those things
and they tweeted about them.
As this gets worse, and they're currently two and four,
I could totally see this dude checking out
considering they did not sign him to a long-term contract.
And he has a history of this kind of stuff.
So I don't really have a good vibe feel
for where pickings is at.
I mean, six for 73 is not terrible.
Sorry.
I have a good beyond the box question.
All roads lead to Ryan Flournoy.
Really good stash.
Ryan Flournoy, he's actually got more targets
than I realized this year.
He's had four, six, eight, five, four, and nine targets
in the six games.
I mean, four targets in every game for Flournoy,
who is 8% rostered.
He ran 95% of the routes.
He usually runs about 75% of the routes,
primarily working out of the slot.
He was on the slot about half the time.
Yeah, I don't know if pickings is a buy low anymore.
I wouldn't call him a sell.
I'd probably just call him a hold.
Yeah.
I wouldn't sell low.
I wouldn't sell low on him.
They should still be throwing a lot.
I mean, Dak is throwing the ball a ton.
I think, again, they've had some games
where they haven't run a lot of plays.
I think their defense is going to get better,
which has its pluses and minuses.
Well, they're just going to get healthier.
They're going to get healthier.
I guess so.
They could get healthier.
I mean, but if you don't get pressure consistently
against the Packers offensive line,
I don't know who you're getting it against.
That's a good point.
Yeah, but I actually think that's fine for them.
I mean, it's just going to lead to more throwing.
But yeah, hopefully they get things fixed.
I mean, when you just look at, like,
how often Dak Prescott is throwing and the yards and stuff,
it doesn't look that far off
from what you'd expect from Dak Prescott.
I think you just need more touchdowns.
And then you think about the interceptions
the last two weeks.
Ferguson dropped that ball.
I can't remember if his first interception
against the Bucs was also a tip.
I feel like it may have been.
But Ferguson dropped that ball, and it was intercepted.
Yesterday, CeeDee Lamb just slipped on a route,
and it was intercepted.
So not everything has been Dak's fault.
But yeah, this offense is disappointing.
And the Packers,
it's weird.
Like, last night, if you didn't watch the game,
Christian Watson and Matthew Golden had a. If you want to call the one for Watson a drop,
it's a little harsh because it was deflected.
But if he catches that ball in the end zone,
I mean, that is three catches.
It went right to his hands.
Three catches for about 90 yards
and three touchdowns that they dropped.
And. It's going to cost me a key fantasy matchup
that I needed, literally.
Are you more optimistic about the Packers' offense, Dan?
I want. I want to be
because Jordan Love just looks so good to me
playing the position.
His ability to anticipate space and throw into space,
the flick of the wrist,
the way he generates both velocity and spin on the football.
It's just fun to watch.
And he makes these dime throws.
The problem is,
I know he played the Dallas defense.
And I know that everyone who's played the Dallas defense
has found some success.
Even, I mean, like, some of these defenses,
the Cowboys, the Colts,
like, even Cam Ward found some success yesterday
against that bad of a defense.
So I just don't know how much I
i want to make of it and i still have major concerns about this packers offensive line
will jacobs help alleviate some of those concerns sure they're a little more multiple on offense
teams can't maybe tee off as much they have to respect that they actually have somewhat of a
threat from a from the running game standpoint but it not sold because i've never seen jacobs
run behind this bad of an offensive line with the packers um probably have to go back to his
raiders days to find that so i still feel like i'm a little concerned with the packers because
of their offensive line i will say this is it's not just the cowboys this is the third straight
game where he's gotten the ball out very quickly i feel like the first three games are like oh my
gosh we're terrified this could be a complete disaster and since then they've really really
emphasized getting the ball quickly and it's worked pretty well yeah that's a fair point
all right uh so also these receivers are insane matthew golden's so freaking good
like i know he's the drops are annoying but like the guy is open all the time and like him being
such a freaking good receiver i feel like he's going to be a pretty good receiver i feel like
route runner allows them to do this stuff where he's actually throwing past the sticks consistently
they're throwing down the field and getting it out quickly it's it's a big week for tucker craft
he's tight end 16 per game right now he's frustrating he's on pace for 105 targets and
if he were anywhere near as efficient as he were last year you know 105 targets for tucker craft
would be a top five tight end if not you know top three tight end basically but he's not even
close in his efficiency and uh i think the target the target per out run rates
solid it's fine it's but he's got detroit this week and they're worse they're the worst team
against him so he's he's the clearest buy he's the clearest buy a tight end in my opinion we're
going to talk about like by lows later and he's who stood out the most to me it's been loveland i
think but i think if you can buy tucker craft like the fact that these receivers are playing so well
is actually i think really good for him it's not like his volume has dropped off to adam's point
like he's still getting a lot of targets and now it's like matthew golden legitimately scares
defenses over the top but there's one aspect of that that
you know we have to bring up and that is third highest pass rate in football for the packers
previous two years they were 28th and 31st or something like that what happens when josh jacobs
comes back that's our first big topic we'll get to that in a second uh but jacob once again give
us the beyond the box score rundown for the week yeah we're doing uh usage breakdowns so digging
all this stuff we had a bunch of changes this week like first week of marvin harrison jr um
travis uh we got like travis
hunter snaps this week like there's a bunch of fun stuff to dig into this week so that's every
wednesday um and then dan and i do a film breakdown too um and i'm very excited for that damn because
we got like caleb williams back in our lives like that bills raiders game is very intriguing to me
um there's a obviously i want to go back and dig back into the jacksonville game that was fun to
watch that on sunday morning jacksonville houston like there's a bunch of really cool games this
week um so find us every tuesday at uh 11 a.m eastern time live and dan and i are breaking
down film and just talk about everything we just learned and we'll see you next week
all that good stuff you know who i love in week seven assuming his backfield mate doesn't come
back okay what he marks really oh my gosh the giants are such a layup for running backs they've
given up i think 12.3 fantasy points which is great but they've given that up to a running
back in every single game including tyler algier alvin camara tony pollard it's not even good
running backs it's not even like a must start running backs so what he marks i mean he played
he's played 81 of the snaps over the last two games um with montgomery leaving you know two
games ago if he does that against the giants now if montgomery comes back it's a different
conversation if he plays 80 of the snaps it gets 18 19 touches against the giants i think he's
gonna have a very good game or at least i'm very very curious to hear your guys thoughts on the
giants game what the hell happened in that game like all sorts of weirdness in that game looking
at the box score yeah yeah we're gonna get there that's one of the big topics stupid uh all right
uh so we're gonna get there that's one of the big topics stupid uh all right uh so we're gonna get
so let's go through the news and notes real quick i think we'll get we'll get into josh jacobs um
i think we'll do that before the other stuff after the news because it just plays in with the
green bay discussion but yeah the giants haven't committed to a quarterback they're at houston this
week i think i think a lot of people are probably going to go with what i you know the logic that i
said yesterday which is you really want jj mccarthy playing at houston in his first start with the
giants let jamis go out there if he fails you're going into a buy seems like the right time to make
the change that's kind of how it's going to be i think it's going to be a good time to go out there
i feel like what i would lean but click curious with dan what do you think dan it's tough i just
went back and watched the table get into more of this later but if they feel mccarthy has gives
them the best chance to win i think they should play him and there's some there's some things that
we saw on tape that could lead me in that direction specifically what it would mean
for the giants run game which has been dead in the water and just what it means on those like
third down plays where teams are just playing man because they know jamis can't
escape the pocket and won't run when mccarthy will problem is there's also the negatives like
mccarthy mostly just through first read the entire game yeah so like that could be eaten up
potentially by houston next week i'm glad i watched the all 22s i gotta say it was not as good as i
as i thought it was especially not seeing malik neighbors wide open three times because like you
said first read well yeah he's kind of yeah um okay anyway jalen hurts is it looks like he's
out for the season it's very unfortunate it's got the blood clot and he i think three months was the
timetable given i don't know if they make a deep playoff run or something maybe he can come back
but you can drop jalen hurts and it looks just plan on him not playing again this season that
really sucks tampa what do you think they're gonna do at quarterback you think they're sticking with
mckee he really didn't look good in this game well then i get nanny dalton back because he
signed with yeah that's what i was surprised dalton signed so they lost him i wonder if if
we could see joe milton at some point oh gosh
uh i got i've got some math i think here's some math for you okay so uh tanner mckee averaged 4.8
yards per attempt yesterday and that's that's unrealistically bad yeah uh for his career he
averages 6.1 yards per attempt which is not good jalen hurts this year has averaged 6.1 yards per
attempt however i'm going to give jalen hurts his career average of 7.4 yards per attempt all
jalen hurts in the other corner you got 6.1 yards per attempt tanner mckee now jalen hurts last year
he averaged 28.4 pass attempts per game i feel like that's that's pretty representative of jalen
hurts so if jalen hurts averaged 28.4 pass attempts per game and 7.4 yards per attempt
he would throw for 210 yards per game how many pass attempts would we need from tanner mckee
at 6.1 yards per attempt his career rate to get to
210 yards per game the answer is not that many 34.34 yeah so you could argue that even though
hurts is a better quarterback than mckee if you get 35 pass attempts a game from mckee which i
think you probably will sure you're gonna get about the same amount of yardage as what you'd
normally get from hurts plus hurts has never thrown more than 25 touchdown passes in a season i don't
think he's ever been on pace for more than that because he runs for so many so that is a weird way
of saying that
we're not quitting the eagles yet
it's a weird way of saying we're not quitting on the eagles receivers and tight ends yet
just dude this is maybe something that only i care about but mckee lemon's gonna have like
the worst yard per run right of all time
and then we're gonna see how he's a bust it's gonna be the same thing that happened with
with gold and too heavy of a lean on the analytics and then boom you actually watch the tape and this
guy's awesome maybe all right uh but i don't know if that's the case with lemon just let me be clear
i haven't watched this video yet i don't know if it's the case with lemon i don't know if it's the
but i don't know if he's playing awesome tampa bay planning on starting jaylen daniels this week at
carolina denver's not making a quarterback change this week at arizona oh jaylen daniels is already
locked in no that's right no they're just playing who did you say they're planning on it okay because
i thought baker might yeah but that's the plan uh wide receiver we got mcconkie with a concussion
he has a buy this week dobbs with the shoulder injury mooney with a neck injury don't i haven't
seen have you seen anything on davante adams no and it's very odd because it was not
non-contact end of game and i just saw something tweeted out earlier that not a single reporter
asked about the injury to show mcveigh bo's game no that's not true he said he didn't have an update
well that's what i read oh i read the opposite yeah maybe i misread that all right and then the
the offensive line stuff uh you know we got to keep an eye on the giants possible the giants
we without andrew thomas both starting tackles next week again at houston against danelle hunter
and and uh will anderson that's good great for jj but it's even more possible that the patriots are
going to be without and they're already without one starting offensive lineman who's on ir they
could be without three others because they're playing thursday at chicago yes and they signed
two linemen today so they're going to be terrible up front against or at least on paper terrible
up front against the bears on thursday and that is it for the news and notes are we going to take
a break when we come back we'll get into josh jacobs and some snap counts some stats you need
to know some buy low candidates the giants passing game and more after this
okay first big topic comes from adam plank and he says can we trust josh jacobs to be a starter next
week at detroit the packers offensive line doesn't inspire confidence in me and jacob i think you said
you had a lot to say about this subject here so what do you think about josh jacobs going forward
um yeah no idea where he'll be at if he's just like locked back into workhorse role right away
if the backfield will change in the way that it's been used but what we do have in terms of data is
just 14.2
expected fantasy points per game in total.
to the running back position in green bay which i haven't i don't have that total number for every
team i had to manually calculate that looking at the players but from what i can tell that's
by far the lowest i looked at other teams that have had like running back injuries haven't been
able to run the ball well um teams that came to mind are like seattle and new orleans their number
is 23 it's 14 per game for uh the packers i looked at like houston and the giants their number is like
18 um the browns is actually the lowest number i found it's 17.6 expected fantasy points per game
to the running back position the packers is 14 they just haven't been able to run the ball at all
um receiving has never really been a big part of jacob's um fantasy value so i think there's at
least a chance that they just continue to not be able to run the ball they continue to lean
pass heavy and that his values mostly touchdowns yeah but they might they might i don't know invert
and lean into him but i just
you
i feel and then the ground game and it's just like kind of what we've seen in the past but
i just feel like jordan loves playing well enough that that doesn't really make that much sense to
me right i it kind of reminds me of houston where it's like they haven't been running the ball well
but they like seem to want to and like that's at least what we've heard from them in the past
that's at times like been a you know they're we want to play run and defense and everything
but cj shroud's balling out so i think they're probably going to keep doing that that's my guess
at least yeah i think that's spot on so some numbers for the
packers run game they are 29th and running back carries per game they are 32nd dead last in yards
per carry by running backs 27th and running back touchdowns per game um jordan love is 23rd and
running back target rate he's never really been much of a running back target guy but josh jacobs
again here's just some math josh jacobs has run more than 40 percent of the routes in the two
seasons that he's played with green bay and he's had a nine point seven percent
target share in those two seasons based on jordan love's current pass attempts per game if it doesn't
change and josh jacobs has a 10 percent or 9.7 percent target share that's 62 catches 62 targets
and 51 catches that's three a game basically uh if if he keeps his route rate and his target share
consistent and jordan love keeps the same amount of pass attempts per game so that would be pretty
good there's about 12 running back 12 like fantasy relevant running backs who are getting 51 or three
per game or more um and if people are asking what's the josh jacobs news he's off the i don't
know if he's off the exemplar list now but he will be he's eligible to play this upcoming week he's
expected to be the starting running back yeah but at any point he could get suspended again he
hasn't actually been technically suspended but he could get suspended at any point you know there's
a video out there if the nfl sees it and it's bad it's up in the air i wouldn't mind trying
to sell josh jacobs because i'm thinking about it like i like i know there are only what i say 19
or 22nd in points per game but i feel like they could be a lot better um they got a lot of talent
and um you know the starting running back who is he's been a stud when he's been healthy the last
couple years but three years ago he held out and he's awful i think he averaged 3.5 yards per carry
in 2023 he did and this year he's missing six games now coming back he you know with this
offensive line he might might not be that good so
depending on what you can get i like the idea of him as a sell it just really does depend how
your league mates are viewing him and maybe you wait a week or two for him to score a couple
touchdowns before you do it because i think everything you said is true even if the the
rates will go up from what you just went over adam all of those rates will go up and lean a
little at least a little bit more run friendly i just don't think it matters like if he gets
another 20 yards or 15 to 20 yards rushing a game i don't think he was ever really that efficient
since he joined the packers they weren't i mean he got a lot of touches but it wasn't like he was
pulling off explosives
so it's really just a touchdown guy but that's great though if he gets jaylen warren or josh
jacobs warren i think of him similarly to kim scataboo obviously this week changed the equation
for scataboo for jacobs yeah oh wow i definitely take him over scataboo but uh at this point but
i'm saying like similar type of setup where it's like the team can't run he's not getting targets
he's just like a big grinder that doesn't give you a ton of explosive plays in an offense that's
only able to pass right now
um let me show you a couple of screenshots from last i just think they are like the the thing is
they are able to pass right that's the only reason i'm i'm pushing back at all it's like
they are able to pass right now and they're passing really well that's what i said that's
all they're able to do yeah but like it's just that means he should have some scoring opportunities
sure and really in fantasy that's all you need at this point to be a starter you need to score
touchdowns let's take a look here uh well this is pierre strong the one final thing i'll say about
that before we take a look at this one i'm going to take a look at this one i'm going to take a look
we take a look as one pierre strong has been better than expected in my mind and i read that
they had a plan for him preseason before he got hurt and two a lot of the passing that's been
successful this is interesting to think about have been long passes and so they've been targets in
the end zone and that doesn't help jacobs so it is i'm not like as i think about it more i feel
like he does seem like a really good sell candidate pierre strong i think could have a
better run here this he hesitated it's a clear hole like in between uh the guard and the
tackle there or the center in the guard whatever it is and he hesitated and he and he got stopped
and then this one drove me crazy you're marshawn lloyd here you got the hand oh no do you go with
path a or path b which i know which one he goes with he went with b and he lost two or three yards
on the play but it's like you want to make the out to be the offensive line like where's the
vision like cut cut back dude i mean and that could be something that improves with jacobs
yeah back in the game because he definitely is you know a professional running back
we'll see i just i like your case for him being a sell right i i just i think he might get off to a
slow start i think it's kind of hard to expect him to be really good out of the gate detroit's
got a decent enough run defense and and who knows but um i look i have him in a couple leagues i am
not viewing him as a savior i am not viewing him as um he's going to come back and be an rb1 i think
he's going to be an rb2 i think he's going to be not stylistically similar but similar to like
bucky irving where
you know he's like bucky's probably what i don't know rb15 ish some you know some good weeks he was
great usage yesterday but really bad for fantasy right kind of think he's going to be sort of like
that um different but sort of like they are not a lot of good running backs right now the position
has been crap would you trade him for chase brown yeah yeah i take chase brown in a heartbeat over
him all right uh but i guess not everyone would so i think it's definitely worth considering him
as a trade candidate let's do a youtube poll
let's do a youtube poll chase brown versus josh jacobs let's go with full ppr
let's see what the people know that makes it too easy go with half ppr fine fine half ppr i don't
think it's too easy but fine okay uh should we go to the other big topics yeah let's hit them
all right and we'll at the end we'll do the uh the stats and the snap counts and all that stuff
big topic number two is about the giants and it was which quarterback is better for the
pass catchers from mark low it's jamie or jj or jamis
who gives neighbors and likely the best rest of season all right dan i think you can go first here
what do you think it's interesting before this game i would have said it's definitely jamis
without a doubt um and yesterday was the first time i think of jamis's career he didn't attempt
a 20 plus yard pass which was crazy to see uh but jj played better than i expected i know you maybe
had a different read on it adam but i thought he threw the ball really well in this game the problem
is what we talked about in the last game was that jj played better than i expected i know you maybe
talked about pre uh show which is he did lock on to it was pretty much all first read um he still
has the issue in my mind of when he throws outside the numbers on the outbreakers it's just low and
away all the time but there are a couple throws in this game the likely throw toward the end before
overtime the 20 yarder that he kind of just like sizzled over the second level in between the
third level the play where he escapes the sack steps up resets the pocket and drills neighbors
for like 47 where like the ball jumped out of his hand there's i think i saw the numbers on it from
gps tracking um he averaged 49 miles per hour 49.1 miles per hour his his throws average jamis was
down at 41.4 and that makes a big difference when it comes to throwing some of these timing based
routes and you could see it with some of the plays that he made so it's tough to say he's going to be
a little bit more inaccurate than jamis but jamis was inaccurate too i saw charting from yesterday
that said that jamis uh over since he took over the giants starting quarterback has been one of
the most inaccurate throwers in in
in the nfl i think he was 36 out of 39 quarterbacks and he missed a lot of throws from my from mine
out so like the whole negative to jj missing throws due to accuracy issues it's still the
case with jamis who you know had issues with his arm really throughout his entire tenure
here with the giants this season at least so i don't know really i think overall it's probably
a net negative right because they're going to run the ball more they're going to have more of a
design run game rpo stuff things that probably don't help neighbors and likely but i do get
a feeling that this coaching staff understands it's bread and butter and it's bread and butter
is creating matchups and one-on-one situations in space for both neighbors and likely if you look at
this it's been one of the pleasant surprises offensively for fantasy football in the sense
that it's one of the most concentrated passing games and i give kudos to the coaching staff for
that these are two great players likely and neighbors who are getting open consistently
and making spectacular catches um and so some of these off-target throws from jj i think they'll
reel in they did in this game likely touchdown was pretty high and neighbors are going to be
able to get out of the field and i think neighbors is two cat big catches down the field were pretty
high throws that they were able to just snag in there
Isaiah likely is the number two tight end in fantasy right now
on a per-game basis.
He's number one overall.
He's number two per game.
He's averaging 17.9 points per game.
He's a better player than I even realized.
His hands are amazing.
He has made really good catches.
His touchdown catch, or was it a two-point conversion catch,
was really good.
And the touchdown catch where he high-pointed was amazing.
And you're right.
And that was kind of my note.
So my notes on McCarthy, his third pass of the game,
didn't see Malik Nabors coming open across the middle of the field
because he threw it too quickly to Malachi Fields, who was blanketed.
The next throw was an interception intended for Fields,
not necessarily McCarthy's fault.
That was just a miscommunication.
He thought Fields was going to sit, and he came through.
That's just no reps together.
27-yard completion to Nabors, but you already talked about this.
The throw was a little high.
Nabors made a great catch.
Then the 49-yard completion to Charlie Jones was a ridiculously lucky catch.
And I'm going to show you the screenshot of that one.
See if I think it's this one here.
There's Nabors.
Like, Nabors is wide.
It may not look like he's so wide open here,
but he is blowing past his defender, streaking across the middle of the field.
And he throws deep to Jones, and he gets a 47-yard completion.
But, like, he's not even looking at Nabors,
who has his hand up in the middle of the field.
And then later, we have this one.
Okay, this is the last play of the game.
Nabors gets wide open.
Could have been a touchdown, last play of the game.
At this point, McCarthy is feeling the pressure a little bit.
He's just about to start running backwards and scrambling.
If he had waited an extra split second, maybe he sees Nabors.
There was also the play where he threw an interception that was overturned.
And that was a pretty bad throw.
So, in my opinion, he did make some great throws.
It's very obvious to see that arm talent.
Like, honestly, I think he has one of the strongest arms in football.
That might sound crazy, but people thought I was crazy when I said that about Kevin Williams.
Not on the deep half.
Not a deep from a deep.
He has limitations to it.
Like, it caps out.
Velocity, though.
Velocity-wise, yeah, on the short and intermediate.
He fires it in.
He fires it in there.
So, that's great.
Thomas is losing his mind in the behind the scenes here, listening to this.
But, at the same time. I forgot the whole Vikings thing.
Yeah, no, at the same time, I thought there were a lot of mistakes.
And he was pretty lucky in this game.
So, I think I prefer Jameis get another shot here.
I think the broader point is this.
Over the last three games, Giants quarterbacks are averaging 324 yards per game
on 43 pass attempts per game with eight touchdowns.
They're at 7.5. What are they averaging in the run game?
2.1 yards per carry?
7.5 yards per attempt is good.
It's the same as Jordan Love and Geno Smith this year.
It's not amazing.
6.2% touchdown rate is really good.
That would be third or fourth highest.
This might be the time to sell neighbors and likely.
It's not a bad call.
You've had Arizona. This is hard to keep this up.
And New Orleans.
And who was before that?
It wasn't Tennessee.
It was. It was. Oh, it was. Oh, Washington.
It was Arizona, Washington, and New Orleans.
I talked about this.
Over and over.
Now you've got Houston.
You've got a bye.
You've got Philadelphia.
You've got Washington.
You've got Jacksonville.
You could argue there are really no good defenses in the NFL
other than maybe Denver and Seattle.
No, Eagles defense is still great.
Minnesota.
Come on, brother.
And Minnesota is best in the NFL.
100% Minnesota.
Yeah.
But, like, okay.
I tell you, Malik Neighbors has Houston.
Who are the great defenses?
Let's do it real quick as fast as we can.
Malik Neighbors has Houston, Philadelphia, Washington, and Jacksonville
in his next four games.
You'd say, oh, that's a tough schedule.
Houston is 31st against wide receivers.
Philadelphia is 28th.
Washington's 29th.
Jacksonville is 27th.
I don't know what to make of that.
On paper, it's a great schedule.
It looks like it, right?
But I don't think it is.
But that's not what. I never judge it off of that personally.
And this is a debate in the fantasy community,
and you could go either direction.
I don't go by. This team is giving 26 most points to wide receivers.
I just go by game flow and game script.
If I feel like a defense is going to dominate an offense
and get off the field a lot and puns a lot,
that, to me, is a bad matchup.
And I think the Eagles are going to be the best defense
and the Eagles have proven that.
To me, the Eagles are still one of the elite defense in the NFL.
To me, it's actually astounding how well they've done
considering how bad their offense has been
the last three weeks.
I guess so.
All right, Jacob, how many tight ends
would you take over, likely, rest of season?
Yeah, Dan and I talked about this last week.
He had them basically at tight end five rest of season,
and I think that's fair.
I had them at tight end 10,
but I was like, anybody from tight end six through 10
is about the same to me.
The one difference is I had Tyler Warren clearly ahead of him.
They're all basically the same,
but I do have concerns.
I have concerns that the Giants offense could turn into a pumpkin.
And so, like, if you're not getting crazy Jameis drawback volume,
if they try to go J.J. McCarthy ground and pound,
lean into Skadaboo or something,
is kind of what my thought was.
And obviously, after one week, it's like,
well, I don't know, guys, J.J. McCarthy's got the strongest arm
in the whole league, and we don't even care about Skadaboo.
I don't know.
He has a very strong arm, though.
I was impressed.
Not strongest in the league, but I think it's up there.
The Skadaboo thing's a nightmare for Skadaboo managers.
What the hell?
Darvall benched him, essentially.
I'm going to tell you three wide receivers
directly ahead of Malik Neighbors in points per game.
And tell me if you'd rather have them or Neighbors.
Nico Collins.
Nico.
Nico.
Tedderall McMillan.
Neighbors.
Neighbors.
Oh, wow.
I was going to say McMillan.
And Devontae.
I even debate Neighbors over Nico.
I'm close on that one.
The only reason I'm considering Nico
is because of what you said, Adam,
which is actually a great point
about how the schedule has kind of played a role in this.
And Devontae Adams.
Oh, no, I'm sorry.
Devontae Smith.
Definitely go Neighbors.
Yeah.
Devontae Smith, the Tanner McKee for his season
and maybe Joe Milton.
What are we talking about here?
He was a wide receiver, too,
in catchable air yards this week.
Devontae Smith.
I think that the drop back volume thing,
we actually could PPR scam our way to some points
if Devontae Smith stays healthy.
I like that.
And Devontae Smith only ran like 72% of the routes.
Yeah, he wasn't fully healthy.
He also left briefly in the game.
So what was his target per route run rate?
I have it in here.
It was a 41.2% target per route run rate.
So, you know.
He has like the third highest first read rate in the league.
They've really been force feeding him.
Okay, we got, let's see.
Let's, you know, this one I think we can do pretty quickly here.
At what point do we start making Jalen Coker
or start ranking Jalen Coker higher than Tedrow and McMillan?
Last week, this past week, I did it.
I think he's had a lot of really good slot matchups.
That's what he had this week.
A lot of defenses were easy to attack through the slot
where T-Mac is facing Denzel Ward,
Kenyon Mitchell or whatever.
But I do think that's going to be the case at times, you know,
is that defenses are going to be more focused on stopping McMillan
and he is doing a lot of the dirty work to clear out space for Coker
and then Coker is really good.
If you get him in advantageous matchups
and like really force feed him like we saw in this game,
then like he can be really productive.
They're both really good for fantasy.
I would rather, I would like to be glad to have either of them.
Yep.
This was a big game for me too
because they were both able to produce against a defense
that I feel is still very good.
I will say Tedder McMillan has a super low catchable target rate too,
which can come with running, you know,
big boy rats on the outside and everything.
But I also think it can be kind of random.
So I think he could be even better than he has been.
McMillan.
Yeah.
Well, I think just look at like,
forget about the Detroit game with no Coker,
but you look at weeks one, two and six,
the three games they played together fully healthy.
And I said Coker's wide receiver five per game in PPR.
McMillan's wide receiver 18 per game in PPR.
It's 27 targets for McMillan.
It's 31.
But what I like is five red zone targets for both of them,
three or four green zone targets for both of them,
two or three end zone targets for both of them.
So the fact that in those three games,
Coker has two touchdowns and McMillan doesn't have any,
that's really the biggest reason why there's such a gap
in their points per game.
You know, I don't think the gap is that big,
whether you like Coker or McMillan better,
it's pretty close.
Just to point out though,
McMillan does still have matchups against,
Patrick Sertan against Minnesota against DJ Turner with Cincinnati
against Seattle in week 17.
So those might be games where you're going to favor the slot guy.
Like, like Jacob was saying over the outside guy.
Okay.
We'll be back with some buy low candidates and some numbers you need to know
from week six after this.
Welcome back.
I don't really have that many buy low candidates.
I need you guys to carry the weight here.
You good to go?
Yeah.
Yeah.
We just did shows like this last week.
Um,
I think a lot of it's still relevant.
Uh,
Michael Wilson on paper statistically is like one of the biggest
underperformers at the wide receiver position.
So if you buy into like,
you know,
big win against the Rams,
Jacobi is going to keep playing.
Um,
if you buy into how well Wilson and Jacobi play together last year,
then I think he makes sense as a buy only AJ Brown and Jamison
Williams are underperforming their expected fantasy points model number.
Um,
more than Michael Wilson,
a wide receiver.
Speaking of AJ Brown,
101 catchable area.
Yards.
He turned that into 27 receiving yards this week.
Um,
I think got three of 10 targets.
So he was wide receiver seven and catchable area yards.
That's a really strong number that he had 43% first three target rate.
Drake may is QB two in catchable area yards on the year behind only CJ
Stroud.
I watched the game and I thought AJ Brown was getting open a lot.
Yeah.
Um,
I watched today.
That was the only guy I was going to throw in in this segment was AJ
Brown.
I thought he looked good.
Yeah.
I was,
I was worried that he might just look really rusty or slow or whatever.
Not,
not confident in his health,
but he looked good to me.
Just kind of,
I don't know.
I,
it,
maybe it's that he's getting old and he sucks now and can't catch a ball,
but my guess is it's kind of a random thing.
No,
I think he,
I think he's a super obvious by low,
almost so obvious that it's like,
why even put him on here?
Um,
because of the crazy,
like 33% target share in his first game back and Dobbs is hurting Hollins or,
but what do you think about that offensive line?
I mean,
is that gonna,
is that going to hold everyone back?
Thank you.
um i don't i mean romeo dobbs had a touchdown in this game and has had some games and again
may is what is quarterback two and catchable air yards on the year so i don't think it's really
held it back that much like i think there could be production uh freaking pop douglas is like
a top 10 receiver over the past two weeks or something like just they had three new offensive
line injuries in this game that's in this game yeah yeah that that would be the only thing that
would hold me back but no i'm with you on it it's getting close i mean on paper at least it's
getting close to chargers level offensive line with like four or five guys they didn't expect
to have so what happens to the chargers is horrible we'll see if drake may can can overcome
that he's really freaking good uh go ahead that's yeah i was i was i mean it could be bad like we've
seen may at times i guess struggle especially when blitz and stuff and like just kind of make
heat it up but i also think he's somebody who can throw with anticipation and adrian brown
somebody who can just win 50 50s you know so i've in theory if unless adrian brown is toast like
those two feel like a
grouping that could be fine even with a bad offensive line um i think nico collins maybe
i know he scored a bunch of points the first three games that he played but he didn't necessarily
score a ton in this game and speaking of catchable area it's the only quarterback who has more than
may is cj stroud cj stroud has hit 200 or more catchable areas every game he just keeps doing
it every single game he's so locked in he has six games now with 200 more catchable yards which is
more than he's ever produced in any season he's six for six i i just am so impressed with him
and they have a really deep diverse room now there in terms of the pass catchers and i don't
know i think i'm i'm a little bit nervous to see that um nico might be limited all year because
they have all these guys that they can mix in so he's like a part-time player right now he's playing
like 75 of the snaps but if he gets rolling i think nico could just be an absolute like i said
him over neighbors earlier like he could be that good like a top five type of fantasy receiver and
you can get him for a little bit cheaper than that right now dan yeah so jacob hit a bunch of
that i love here um i'll start with just a follow-up on some of the ones i loved i had stroud
i have jaylen noel as a bylaw or whatever you want to call him noel sorry no no it's no i'm just i
i'm nervous about him and his playing time i just don't think that they care about him
i don't know if they care about him but i know they should man i mean
jones per route run this season it's everyone we expect all the studs j
s and london evans lamb puka watson nico and in that list is jaylen noel with 2.53 yards per
hour one run and he looks damn good on tape i just i don't know how they don't but maybe you're right
um because i also have marvin harrison jr as a clear buy for me i thought it looked awesome
week one with cj stroud that's the direction i would go gonna get better it's just yeah i feel
like he's a lot more likely to become a full-time player and he buries no you don't think they both
can hit i doubt it
this is one of the the only reason i say that is because of the context you provided before this
with cj stroud this is one of the most healthy passing games we have right now in fantasy
football to me almost by far if you look at the 200 catchable air yards per game i mean who else
is even doing that no one really but i guess it is still so he is still super reliant on big plays
feeling no so that's frustrating for ppr i still think if he's on your waiver where you add him
but i have harrison as a clear buy low i said him last week i hope you're able to
get him two weeks ago i said carnell tate i hope you bought him i still think he's a buy high
tate is doing things from a per route basis standpoint and from a per target uh per route
target basis standpoint that are in line with some of the better rookie receiver center nfl
so put those guys in the mix i'm gonna put a couple holdovers for me um terry mclaurin we
haven't seen him play yet this week but i thought he looked good against the giants last week on
tape and i thought more importantly jayden looked pretty good i'm buying that whole offense taking
a step forward a couple other guys this goes for me i'm gonna put a couple holdovers for me
back to the preseason to some extent because i knew their schedule was going to soften up
but it also goes back to what i saw last week which was the best version of him in three years
probably a football or two years at least kyler murray jordan addison the entire vikings i'm
pretty much in on rest of season as far as by logos i think we're going up with that offense
kyler looked way more comfortable in his last most recent game and going into this bi-week we'll see
what happens there so i put kyler addison maybe jefferson in that mix um we probably missed the
boat on it but colston love
i would throw in there uh with caleb back and really i'm good on buying in on any bears and
then finally for me well i'll do one more before that i'm in on this johan dotson thing just gonna
be honest i think he looks pretty good i watched all the snaps from last week and then this week's
game i think he looks pretty good out there and he was a former first round pick that i like coming
out of penn state um and he gets every single week he gets these one-on-ones because it's everyone's
just focusing on drake london and kyle smith obviously not like go crazy and trade for johan
dotson but if he's going to be a good pick he's going to be a good pick he's going to be a good
pick he's still on your waiver wire he's someone i would definitely look to prioritize him and
noel are just players who are playing well and getting tons of uh one-on-one opportunities
because of the other players around them and that's just something i'm always interested in
and both their quarterbacks are playing well as well pennix and shroud more so shroud but also
pennix last one for me would be tyrone tracy jr um as i guess it's more of a waiver but i'm also
adding half of these have been by low off your waiver where they're five percent rostered yeah
they're not high rostered players but a lot of people play in deep leagues that's why i bring
up where these guys are already rostered um and for tracy it's just simple as this on tape he looks
like the best giants running back i still think scataboo can be that but something weird is going
on scataboo was according to john harbaugh not benched just didn't work out game flow wise but
after tiki barber went on the fan and said i know this is more than just the fumble last week it's
and i and he's like very cryptic and wouldn't say much more than that i just get the feel that
harbaugh what'd you say he did a little bit he basically said like he said pass protection
things like that right but he didn't really go into i think it's a good call i think it's a good
you know i think the most likely scenario is that the giants don't have a good run game this year
or a good fantasy running back and unfortunately their next three games are houston a buy in
philadelphia so i don't know like are you gonna pick up the matters tracy and hold i am the buy
you know but i think it's worth a shot it's it's not naji harris i'll tell you that
so naji harris i think is quite frankly the worst running back getting
touches in football right now and i say that having to watch marshall lloyd every week i still
think tyrone i still think i i think if naji harris is cut today by the giants no team claims in the
rest of the season based on the tape he's put out there all right let's uh move on by the way i'll
get a few more oh yeah so you well you had sucker craft too so what do you think about uh 16 targets
and 48 receiving yards for a mecca book at this not epic i just don't i don't care anything that's
happening with jaylen daniels i don't care about like i'm just it looks so bad i don't care about it
so bad in the second half i had a bet on the stealer i shouldn't say that i had a pick them
league about the stealers and and i was just like i might they might pull this game out because
they've just completely solved this box offense in the second half i think casey conception's a
great buy i think he's had just a brutal run out in terms of like really weird uh misses from
deshaun watson on screens and crap like that um his catchable target rate is really really low
proportional to like the low average depth of target you would think that these would be easy
throws and they just haven't been and it's a small sample size but it's not it's a small sample size
i think over a larger sample size get the ball in his hands let him run he looks really good
and then he also got concussed on like the first play of the game so it's just been it's been a
weird year for him but i think it could be cool at the end of the year um and then two running
backs that i think are interesting i'm curious what you think about them um both their teams
really leaned into the ground game this week they're both out um and the teams haven't necessarily
run the ball that well i don't know what to expect going forward but both teams also got
wins this week which i think is important for like the trajectory of their team so it's
travis etn travis hn and jeremiah love okay would you buy either one of those i was just
looking up jeremiah love i hate his schedule but i do like the call because i think when you look
at week three they had just basically made him the guy he was the goal line guy he played i don't
know 66 of the snaps something like that and he got hurt right and i don't know when he got hurt
i can't remember that but he went back to being a 48 snap guy the next two games and then they
said he needs to rest they want to get him healthy so
yeah definitely feel no i don't definitely i possibly feel like his time could be coming
because it seemed like that that had arrived but they need to get him healthy if i like to schedule
better i'd be more in on it i i feel like he has a lot of tough run defenses there so i'm a little
hesitant but it's a good it's like brutal all the way till his bye week and then it's like the
fantasy playoffs are amazing so it's like i have no idea what to do with that hn one's interesting
too um he had a great usage in his last healthy game like it looked like finally
things were turning for him and i think they'd be wise to do it to get him more involved
and i think the key is jacob like you can get them so low right now yeah i do like that idea
would you trade josh jacobs for either jeremiah love or travis hn 100 for love i don't think i
would do it for hn necessarily i would consider it for love i would definitely not do it for hn
i don't think i'd do it for either guy by the way i don't think i would do it for love but i'd
consider it the youtube poll uh was apparently overwhelming i don't think i'd do it for either guy
over josh jacobs and half ppr let's let's see is the poll still up i'm gonna vote for jacobs just
for fun 73 to 27 chase brown listen man i said this a few times on the show last year it happened
they started splitting the carries between chase brown and samajay pirine pretty evenly for three
weeks like 60 40 for three weeks before pirine got hurt and that is when chase brown's success
happened because chase brown got off to a terrible start what's happening now got off to a terrible
What did his offensive coordinator say?
Yeah, Shotgun favors Samaje Pirine.
Under Center favors Chase Brown.
They might start mixing and matching them.
I don't really think that's going to happen.
But listen, if we get back out there next week
and Chase Brown and Samaje Pirine
are basically splitting evenly,
I will be 0% surprised.
It is in the cards.
It is in the cards.
Just beware with Chase Brown.
All right, I'm sorry, guys.
I only have about five minutes left.
I have to go, hopefully,
to my last ophthalmologist appointment.
This is a never-ending eye problem.
It's still a little red.
I'm not loving that.
But, Jacob, are there any other. What the hell are we talking about?
Oh, his eye?
Yeah.
He's had eye issues for like a month and a half.
It hasn't been a month.
You're such an exaggerator.
I know.
He's such a little snot.
So, I just wanted to say that. That's a step up from the last thing you called me on air.
Luther Burden ran 42% of the routes yesterday.
And had a really good game.
What was that about?
Yeah, I don't know how much time you want to spend
on like advanced stats and stuff.
We can save this for our Beyond the Box course show on Tuesday.
I mean, you guys can finish without me.
I can go, you know.
Seriously, you know.
Well, basically, I think they ran a really specific game plan.
I'm really excited.
I watched the first quarter.
I want to go back and watch the whole thing.
But I just didn't have time this morning.
Caleb had an 83% completion percentage this week.
It was crazy.
He had 205 yards after the catch.
So, that's only the third game for any quarterback this year
with more than 200 yak.
Wow.
It was just his ninth career game
with a success rate of 50% or higher
in terms of dropback success rate.
His average depth of target was 3.9 yards
past the line of scrimmage.
He had, I think, the third lowest percentage of his throws
like going to the sticks of any quarterback
all year long in a game.
And when I say sticks, it's like the yardage you need
to gain a first down.
Also had the second most. the most play-action dropbacks of any game in his career.
Cole Komet ran more routes than Luther Burdens.
He only had one scramble.
So, I think it's like they went very conservative.
And if you. I sent out a cut-up of all the Loveland targets
and all the Burden targets.
And then I watched the first quarter.
Guys are. It was an. I don't want to say some masterclass.
I've only watched one quarter.
But people were wide open.
Every dropback, there were like two, three guys wide open.
So, I feel like they just. It was very easy.
They ran a bunch of screens.
I think they just. Ben Johnson was like,
I can just scheme this and kind of ease him in.
And then they got the big lead.
And so, they just went really conservative.
So, I don't. Luther Burden just hasn't been out there
for like one and two receiver sets a lot of the time lately.
When they go to bigger tight end packages,
he's like splitting that work or not even on the field.
That didn't. Nothing really changed, in my opinion.
It was just a game where that was really prevalent.
Those types of plays.
It was a weird game script and game flow entirely,
I thought.
He looked really good, though.
I mean, he's creating the act.
Like, he's been very good in that role.
It's like. It's kind of like the Jeremy Bernard game that we just got.
And Jeremy Bernard, by the way,
the only players who have. Or the only receivers who have more touches
than Jeremy over the past two games
are Malik Neighbors and Puka Nakua.
He has 18 touches over the past two games.
Pittsburgh Steelers rookie.
Sweet.
It's like that role,
but also there are designed plays
where Luther gets to be a downfield runner,
whereas Bernard's mostly around the line of scrimmage.
So, I think it's actually a pretty fantasy,
relevant role.
I think this is kind of the worst game script for him
because it was so run heavy
and all the big personnel running and everything
where he didn't play very much
and he still had a very good game
because they do design a lot of stuff to him.
All right.
I just want to add a few things before we leave here.
Tony Pollard played 76.1% of the snaps.
That is his most since week five of last season.
And I didn't have time to look it up,
but I think Tajay Spears missed, like,
the first four games of last season or something.
So, I'm pretty sure this,
this is his most or second most, you know,
since he and Spears have shared the backfield last year.
Jalen Warren played 75% of the snaps.
Bucky Irving played 85% of the snaps.
I think you could make a case coming off these performances
that Irving and Warren are by-lows,
but I also think you have to put it in context.
They're not,
I don't think they're going to win you your league necessarily.
I think they're going to be guys you start most weeks,
but it could be a little frustrating.
Chris Olave had a really, you know, pretty good game.
He only played 58% of the snaps.
He came back.
He came into the game with an illness.
Maybe that had something to do with it.
And if you have Darren Waller,
I think it's probably time to get rid of him.
Tommy Tremble ran a few more routes than Darren Waller,
but it was pretty evenly split,
and I just don't think he does enough when Jalen Coker's there.
So, I think you can move on from him.
I'm going to leave it up to you guys.
