Week 6 Preview + David Pollack & Brooks Austin | The BFW Show 10.07.26

Brandon Walker and Liam Blutman break down key college football matchups, focusing on the Alabama-Georgia showdown as a potential playoff game, with Georgia appearing favored due to a strong defense and momentum. The discussion highlights Indiana’s bold non-conference scheduling under Kurt Sagnetti, contrasting it with criticism that top teams like Ohio State play too many weak opponents. Other games, such as Indiana-Nebraska and Oregon-UCLA, are touted as high-stakes, unpredictable matchups driven by tactical depth and narrative tension. The hosts critique coaching decisions, like Tennessee’s quarterback changes, and challenge the idea that youth development is consistently prioritized. The conversation also touches on broader cultural trends, including fan loyalty, merchandise, and the growing influence of lifestyle branding in football culture. Throughout, the show emphasizes the unpredictability and excitement of college football, urging fans to engage through subscriptions, social media, and direct participation. The segment blends analytical insight with humor and fan-driven commentary, reinforcing its mission to deliver authentic, thought-provoking content beyond surface-level analysis.

[Music] All right. Hi. Hello Brandon Walker college football show. I'm Brandon Walker welcome into my basement and Liam's apartment. I guess I don't know where he is probably probably is apartment. Welcome to everybody. Good to see everybody showing up chat. Please come on in. We'll get to you in a minute. We've got our week six preview of college football. We've got Alabama Georgia. We have Liam Blutman here to talk about his UCLA Oregon trip which I understand that he is going to be allowed to call plays personally for Bob Chesney and the UCLA Bruins is that truly. Yes by the client the offer I have full trust in teen Kennedy. Okay fair enough so he's going to Blutman by the way who played the whole I never get to go to games card last week is going into a second game in a row is going out to Austin Stadium in Oregon to try to take down the Oregon ducks does Oregon know that you're coming. I don't know I was thinking about telling landing I'll be there but he'll send me on the field after we be in my guess or he beats us there's a bunch of scenarios. Really only two. I think that's a lot. I think that's just UCLA beating Oregon or Oregon beating UCLA. That game kind of tickles my titties a little bit. There's several games like tickle my titties a little bit. That's a show. Yeah I just I don't think it's the if you look at it like next week is going to be crazy but if you look at this one you don't think oh my god this knocks me down but. Love this Texas Oklahoma smells to me there's something about an Oklahoma team getting a by week in a new lease on life and knowing they have a quarterback in an offense that they can key on that is kind of up and down anyway I don't know I'll discuss it later we got David Pollock showing up later we spent about 20 minutes with him to talk Georgia and Alabama to talk Oregon we talked a lot of stuff. Lot of shit with David Pollock and then Brooks Austin the film guy stops by this is our new Wednesday spot but I think Wednesday works better but last I would like for the numbers on Wednesday to blow the numbers on Thursday way so please like please subscribe please tell your friends about us tell your friends that we actually say stuff here on this show we don't just take both sides of the issue so please bring me as many money human monies as you can so before we get to our. Our watch ability what do we call it our game watchers guy we break down thank you the ball watchers guy before we get to that I do want to talk about this Indiana scheduling thing because it blew up yesterday when it was announced at UMass and Indiana UMass actually won a couple games therefore they're too good to play Indiana UMass Indiana said they're not playing their game anymore Indiana immediately replaced them with Jacksonville State so which I said we need to talk about Kurt Sagnetti's non conference scheduling mantra the way he goes about scheduling. His non conference games what Indiana fans heard me say was I hate everyone who's ever been born in the state of Indiana and they're all pussies and I and and tear the whole thing down and Kurt Sagnetti doesn't deserve to ever coach again not what I said what I said was Kurt Sagnetti walked into Indiana started thumbing Michigan in Ohio State in the eye started saying fuck you Michigan fuck you Purdue fuck you Ohio State and then he said Google me I win and then he went out and he won he took Indiana from the basement to the penthouse. And immediately went to the top of the sport so if you're that bowl of a guy and that brass for guy why not act like it if you're on top of the sport and the number one the raining champion and you are sitting on top of the sport act like it why are you still scheduling the western Kentucky's and the hours of the world I'm not asking you to schedule one every week but Ohio State's playing Texas Michigan's playing Oklahoma. Minnesota playing Mississippi State that they're all going out and playing these big time teams all I want Indiana fans to answer right now is this. If I told you as you try to stay at the top of the sport that over the next five years this would be Ohio State's non-conference schedule. 2026 North Texas Howard Western Kentucky 27 Jacksonville State Kennesall State Indiana State. 2028 Austin P Eastern Michigan Miami of Ohio 2029 Ball State Eastern Illinois Western Kentucky 2030 Indiana State Delaware 2032 Yukon by far and away the best team they've got signed up for the next seven or eight years. If I told you Indiana fans as you fight to stay on top of the sport that Ohio State plays that non-conference schedule you would call Ohio State magnificent pussies you would. Every single fan base in every single college sport is going to defend their coach and Indiana should defend their coach more than anybody because he is what got you here. But it's okay to look around the sport and see Clemson playing LSU and see Alabama and Florida State and see Texas no Ohio State and see all these teams getting together and playing and meanwhile the champion is basically rendered useless in the first month of the season. What's your favorite Indiana highlight from the first month of the season casual fans. You don't have one because they took them out they they took themselves out they don't play in September. Now we're going to see him this weekend and we'll see if they are to the level they were last year I have a feeling they probably are. Does he does Indiana have to play big time teams out of conference. No, just don't have to go to media days and say SEC schedules like cowards. You don't have to say fuck you to everybody. You don't have to say Google me, but he does those things. So why stop there. And Indiana fans will also say well, what about Notre Dame Miami. Yeah, I ripped them for their shitty schedules too. It's not really Miami's fault. They're in a conference conference just sucks, but Notre Dame is their fault. Anyway, not that big deal. It isn't going to change Indiana's trajectory right now. They're on top of the sport. They've won 21 games in a row. It's just as a ball watcher. I don't want to see Indiana play Howard Western Kentucky and whoever the entire month of September. I feel like I haven't even gotten to watching the end of play football yet outside of the one game against Northwestern, which was conference mandate a game. All right. What do you think Liam Blutman? I know you. I get from both angles. Unfortunately, I get from Signe's point of view where there's in his eyes, much more risk than reward and playing non-conference tough opponents. It doesn't want to shoot himself in the foot with, oh, we went 10 to but we lost non-conference game to Texas Tech and that's going to keep us out of the playoff, where if we went 11-1 with three gimmies at the beginning of the year, we're in the playoff. I get from that point of view, but yes, things that's unfortunate. I think we need to adopt new scheduling. Well, yes, the option of beating Texas Tech. Of course he does. There's no provision in the rules. It says they can't beat Texas Tech. I just think it's anti-thetical. I think it's anti-thetical to who Kurt Signeady is. He's so branch. He's so bold. He's so good. Why would he then stop? It's like it's like when Moonlight Graham field of dreams was running around the field and he was running. He was sliding. He was winking at the pitcher and he was doing all these things. But when it came time to go save a little girl, he stopped at the gravel and looked down. It's like, oh my god. I'm scared of that gravel. That's what he is. Kurt Signeady is scared of the gravel. Yeah, you've been around college football for a long time, brand. You've seen some of the most two faced fake individuals in the sport. There will continue to be though. Yes. Though men of yesterday, men of today and men of tomorrow will continue as long as this sport goes on as long as this industry continues on. It's no surprise. It just is what it is. Chalk it up to the game. It's a great call and Simmons once said. He also took his penis out and peed all over the game. Yes, he did. What do you make of Tennessee changing quarterbacks with George McIntyre? Josh Hypole, who by the way, has that one incredible year with Hinden Hooker. Not a whole hell of a lot of quarterback development outside of that one. I think he's been living off that for a while. They started the season with five star freshmen face on Brandon. They let him start against Texas. He got sack 10 times. They tried to run him back out there last week. They replaced him. In the short term, Macintars of freshmen himself, I think he's a red shirt freshman. In the short term, maybe Macintars a little bit more ready, but do you sacrifice a face on Brandon for the future? Have they already, have they already destroyed this kid? Like, I don't know. There's some possible quarterback management going down their Tennessee. You even keeping up with this? - Yeah, I think that there's a reason my Tennessee is maybe the only team in college football that went into a season with two freshmen as they're starting quarterback. Whether it be true freshmen or red shirt freshmen, they're the only team that prioritized youth in future, which will have been great in 2010 and use it as a building and the learning of developmental gear and look how much we're saying ourselves up for 2011, 2012. We're gonna be so good with all these experience. Nobody does that in this day and age. There's no point for it. They shot themselves in the foot right before the season started by doing this. - All right, we've got Alabama, Georgia this weekend. It's obviously the game of the week. We'll break it down in a minute a little bit more, but the weather wise, we're still looking at a potential hurricane, category two hurricane slamming into the Mississippi and Alabama and Florida Gulf Coast this weekend, which puts the game in jeopardy, a Tuscaloosa Saturday night, of the two options that have been bandied about and maybe they've even ruled one out, but moving into Atlanta or moving into Sunday afternoon, I say why not a little Sunday afternoon football? Let me know the NFL's there. Does that get you going to roll? - Yeah, I mean, it does. Here's an issue, brand. I planned the trip to Oregon before all this and the only nonstop flight back is at 215 Pacific time. So don't love that. I'll play under the lights on Sunday night. That'll get all these men, woman fired up too. - Yeah, that way I could wait all day for Sunday night. - Heck yeah, man, we gonna let him know. - Or let him play at 9 a.m. Sunday morning, I don't know. Just do something, just make sure they play. Sunday afternoon one o'clock sounds about right. Let the NFL get going and then slide in there. I mean, I don't know what it would do to the ratings, but who cares? Who really gives a shit? Because the Taliban and Georgia, it really matters. The winner of this is basically in the playoff. I think the loser will probably be fine. And we've got some high-ism implications. Like everything about this game. The one thing that I believe right now is I really believe in the momentum and the SEC conveyor belt of momentum and how it picks you up, takes you to the top of the mountain and immediately spits you off. I say that because Keel and Russell is absolutely it right now in SEC circles. He went on into Starkville, was dominant, was amazing, was great, 3rd and 19, 3rd and 17, dot, dot, dot. He's just great and everybody's telling him how great he is. And now he's second in the highs behind Jeremiah Smith. But this Georgia defense is not the Mississippi state defense. And this SEC conveyor belt has been chewing people up and spitting them out. They let LSU feel great for about two weeks. They let Ole Miss feel great for a week. They let Florida feel great for a week. And now Alabama looks like their average in 45 points game. Oh, it's a different, it's a new day. This is the best team he's had yet. And here comes Georgia. I just wonder about this SEC conveyor belt. And I also wonder if Saturday night, maybe we're talking about Gunner Stockton as the quarterback that comes out of this game. These are just thoughts. I don't know, we'll break the game down more in a minute. All right, Chad, Brandon, would you rather, Brandon would rather do this show than watch the Braves not a true fan. Old sardine, thank you for being here, sir. I make a lot of money to talk college football. You dumb cunt. Why wouldn't I do this show on a Wednesday night? I'm doing this show every Wednesday night from here on out. The Braves are great. If you want to go watch the Braves, please go watch the Braves. I'm talking college ball in here. Face turn. I thought that was nice. I thought that was, that's about the nicest you're ever going to see somebody call somebody a dumb cunt. Was that rude? Listen, if it's rude to call somebody a dumb cunt, lock me up. Seven, seven-year-old cousins watching. Learned some new vocab today. That's good. All right, keep someone you're young. Please keep this game sacred on Saturday night. Says Austin Harvey. There's nothing. I don't like the word sacred in college sports. We play games on Tuesday. We play games on Wednesday. Play the game when you can play the game. I would rather play Sunday afternoon and decent weather to play Saturday night in a slopfest. I don't want to see Keelan Russell and Gunner Stockton play in a foot and a half a water. That's just me, though. That's what I think. I apologize to me, Brandon, old sardine. Okay, you're right. Face turn. I apologize. I apologize to you that you were born such a dumb cunt. Oh, okay. What? Okay, I don't know how to do it. Leblum, and I don't know what, what do you want me to do? Yeah, I don't know what I just, I can't stop thinking about Saturday and the the argument. And yeah, that guy was, that guy pulled me, that guy was sitting in front of eight of his friends, pulled me over there and tried to embarrass me in front of his friends. And that's why I had, and then he said, well, yeah, come back, come behind the stands and call me fans. Oh, I just get back behind the stands and call them fat. I don't know what to tell you, man. Anyway, hello. How you doing, Chad? We'll get to you in a second. What does Bobby Bones want? Bobby Bones. Yes. Yes. We got, by the way, next week, we got some very, very, very, very, very, very fun guests coming to the show. Draft game sports with the number one sportsbook for live betting. There's another line out there that I just think, what? What are we doing? And it's a little Friday. By the way, sneaky little Friday night here, Blutman. Oh, dude, Friday night. This is the first slow of the year we're like, this is good Friday football. I'm very excited. We get a sneaky little Friday night. We've got BYU Iowa State, I believe we got Iowa Washington and we're not going to hold off. Yeah, Iowa Washington, BYU Iowa State and FSU Florida State Louisville. Am I correct? Uh, yes. I'm correct. I'm going to go on my own. Yes, I'm correct. Completely right with Dave on this one. I don't rob a Dave on everything. I'll tell you when I think he's being stupid But I ride with him on this one. So we got Indiana Nebraska Texas A&M Missouri and UCF at Oklahoma state I wrote down one in this in this window. I mean wait for us NC State by the way It's going to be this crazy game. They're just gonna go like six over times I'm calling my six over time shot wait for us North Carolina state Those two teams keep playing in some crazy ass games They're gonna get together and they're gonna do it again NC State borderline one of the most watchable teams of the year this year Just because you never fucking know what's gonna happen. All right Indiana at Nebraska my player to watch is in this game Lee Unblutman Because Indiana like I said didn't play anybody in September has the one close call against Northwestern Or they ended up winning now they on the road and a to a five and over Nebraska an unranked five known Nebraska But if we got a six and over Nebraska with a win over Indiana it is one of those that rattles the foundations of of the sport It doesn't doesn't change anything, but it makes a lot of noise out of Lincoln Nebraska a place that a lot of noise hasn't been made a long time Nebraska has been getting back to this spot for a big game for several years now and can't quite Make the putt they get on the green, but they can't make the putt in the end I hasn't lost in 22 games now they go on the road to this team I think the player to watch is Anthony Kalandria 13 touchdowns two interceptions 1100 yards through the air another 270 running to ball two touchdowns I wrote this down Indiana Indiana is the number seven rush defense in the country and that's fine they haven't played anybody Nebraska number 17th and rushing offense That's where this game is decided and I just don't see Nebraska being able to for four quarters Commit to the run establish the run and win this game with the run It seems like every single time Indiana's had a big game for the last two years and somebody's tried to beat them with the run They have shut it down the defensive line and the defense is too good for Nebraska to win this game Thoughts William Blumman. Yeah being having Jamal Role back in the mix is Massive for Nebraska healthy Jamal Role is a game changer true freshman terrific This is my dandy lion game, which you pick up a dandy lion and you Blow which way does it blow and flow. It's it's going to be bizarre because Indiana could finally go in the right direction They've they've been stagnant whereas Nebraska all of a sudden they could blow towards being a real legitimate Playoff contender with the win and solidifying themselves as a An actual good football team with we've seen that from the braska in recent memory This is a very intriguing ballgame. It spreads only seven and a half brand though Well clearly clearly Nebraska winning this would be the more interesting result because Indiana Riding high defending national champs going into Lincoln Lincoln's been wanting to pop for several years We were out there in 2022 or 2020. No, it's 2023 the year Michigan won the title We watched Michigan Nebraska actually sat in stands for two the two quarters And it was just pathetic because Nebraska got beat 42 to nothing that day They never had a chance and the crowd just wanted they were dying They were dying to make noise, but they were so quiet and so depressing Uh, but this they will be loud. They will be early. They will be incredible Lincoln has been wanting to explode for a while and this is their opportunity I don't you know, it's not like Josh Hoover has had to go in a toxic environment so far at Indiana and prove himself It's not but you know Charlie Charlie B from Nashville Tennessee. He's got there. He's got Nick Marsle. He's got these guys That can that can that can that can help him. I don't know. I I think Indiana probably Looks a little sloppy looks a little rusty Doesn't really go and just destroy this team but end up pulling away winning like a 24 to 13 game or something like that I just think it's not going to be pretty not going to be beautiful, but it doesn't have to be Yeah, I think this will be Indiana's best Game best effort of the season. I expect them to flip the switch and And and when by double digits, uh, uh, agree if not if not It's time to it's time to hit the pamper Brandon But Kalandry at Kalandry is the player to watch because if Nebraska is gonna win this thing He's gonna have to he's gonna have to make some throws and he's gonna have to he's gonna have to run the ball He's you know Against that Indiana defense that makes no mistake. You better have a quarterback that makes no mistakes And that is I puts the onus on the other quarterback. This guy's only been there what five games now If they were to pull this upset is cuz Kalandry it turns into a super beast on Saturday, uh, the ball watching watching guy bring it back up Got a and m mazoo. I do think mazoo is in danger of uh, having everyone tell him how good they're smart their fart smell all week That being said a and m's not a very good football team and I just don't know the Marcel Reed is the kind of quarterback to go on the road and beat a decent Missouri defense Uh, beat a really good Missouri defense. Actually, he's not Camario Taylor and then Yeah, that's that's all I got to say about that UCF OSU Uh, Oklahoma State to me might be the number one team to watch in this entire country I just think is as Texas Tech refuses to show us That they're what they were last year as BYU apparently refuses to show us they are what they were last year Here comes little local home estate after losing to Tulsa put it all back together going on the road and beaten West Virginia beaten the Oregon And I think they've got Texas Tech coming in a few weeks This is a nice little tune up for that so uh, there we go with that bring up the 230 slate the middle slate Is there a game in that early early window Liam that we miss and we should talk about I really just that wake when I think Yeah, I and wake wake is another one that if you did the most watchable teams of the year like they're up there and I think What do you I was thinking today dickert for South Carolina job you think you get some bigger job in that I'm sorry Why but like why would you take that I I don't I don't see South Carolina is a very attractive job and yeah, you're able well It's a bigger and better opportunity than than wait for us. I mean yeah sure But it's also in the gutter of the SEC and it feels like a dead ed job order state job That's more attractive. Yeah, it's a much more windable conference. I'm starting to think you know where are where the opportunities for these guys and who are the guys They're gonna be be filling these spots because we're we're gonna start seeing some firings very soon like I'm thinking If Shane beamer goes down there to Florida this week and just gets absolutely boat raced that might be it Yeah, if if Loxley gets uh gets boat raced that might be it like honestly don't it just so it's right But we're gonna start seeing these openings come up and and the rumors are about to start flying pretty fast And dickert is gonna be a short list guy. Uh-huh completely agree Uh, let me do Venmo and then we'll get to the uh the middle window. We got David Pollett coming up. We've got uh Brooks Austin the film guy coming up. I gotta I gotta figure out Jeff Collins if we're gonna go on Wednesday He can't do it on Wednesday. So I gotta figure it out Um, let me tell you something about college football Nobody in this sport knows how to do anything halfway. You're not gonna just go to the game But did we just go to the game on Saturday, Liam? Or do we go to tailgates and see some see some fun shit? We seen it all Brandon You're gonna make a day of it. You're gonna go to the tailgate the food the gear the traditions and somehow you're $300 deep before Kick off then your buddy finally pays you back for the stuff you bought for everybody Good take that money and put it in your Venmo balance and spend it with the Venmo debit master car because in college football There's always something else to buy more food more gear more cowbells Whatever your school considers a Saturday necessity and with the Venmo debit card You can spend your Venmo balance right away with no monthly fee or minimum balance That's important because apparently nobody in college football has ever heard of too much cowbell Spend your balance instantly with the Venmo debit card No monthly fee or minimum balance learn more at Venmo.com slash card Venmo balance account required to use a balance and get the card effective November first 2026 the Venmo master card is issued by the band court bank in a um Ella L.A. W.L. says Just curious where the line I faithful on Beelomah currently I hate that man for making me sit through an 80/20 Wisconsin asking about you back in the day That's a good question. I do wonder where Illinois fans are on Beelomah probably you probably just ready to put on this year and and give him a chance to Put it back together next year. That's not a that's not a fireable coach or anything. So you just uh, you just give him another run at it next year, right Yeah, we also actually have some breaking news. I'll be while you We have breaking news out of well that that's that that was very very timely from about 10 minutes ago starting running back Uh, their best offensive player probably best player and team LJ Martin out for a month Out for a month Lucky bloodman. Give me that BYU schedule out for a month. Oh see this is Notre Dame's got a fucking horseshoe of their ass man like you're gonna go out to BYU next week and you're gonna have to face Bare Bachmeyer with no running game no running threat the Notre Notre Dame always it's unbelievable Uh, so over the next month they got ios state this weekend. You think ios state alive underdog Notre Dame next week at UCF and then Arizona state coming in let go one more and then oh boy There you go. Well, what's today? Today is uh, the seventh In one month you're telling me one month from today they play you tall this says at least a month too, so It could be it could be bad. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Um bring back tape. Well, he's at the white socks game right now So I can't bring back tape, but he'll be here. He's a Monday's guy. He's a Monday guy. Yeah Brooks Austin's a Thursday guy or Wednesday guy Uh, watch Notre Dame still blow it. I don't know how they would uh, I'd they're like um, was that spread? I think there's early behind On BYU nearer name. Yeah, the Notre Dame 10 and a half bring up the middle window there uh. lukey blutman we've got uh. u_c_l_a_ at organ texas o_u_ o miss vanderbill u_c_l_a_ at organ i was looking up the rushing stats are really one of the i know that u_c_l_a_ can run the football i know that and i looked up the stats organs thirty seven in the country against the run now stats to this point the season are still a little wonky because not everybody has played anybody organ kinda had i mean that organ play local homestate like organ's played a little bit play boysy with thirty seven in rushing probably not where you wanted to be in rushing defense print out where you want to be as organ do you know this is a loady question do you know leads the country in yards per carry leham it's got to be uh. got to be one night no no i'm talking as a team got a u_c_l_a_ do you know how many yards per carry u_c_l_a_ averages this year eight point three that would be crazy six point nine five point nine five or i know who the second how much the second place team averages per carry i'm so the five two that'd be crazy six point five three but when you're talking leham when you're talking a hundred and thirty teams in a lot of them and lead it run in the football the fact that they are forty uh. you know they're they're they're they're point four away they six point nine five to six point five or six point four something like that that is a mammoth gap every single time u_c_l_a_ as a football team that includes sex that includes quarterback kneel down that that includes so many things it includes backup tail backs every time u_c_l_a_ runs the football they're getting an average of seven yards of carry that's fucking crazy that is that's that's significant stuff now they're going up against a disappointing or again defensive line if you're going to go on the road in alston stadium you're not going to go up there and say niko throw for three hundred fifty yards and five touchdowns get out of here with the win you're going to hand the ball off the way night hand the ball off try to establish field time possession try to shorten the game try to do whatever you can to make sure organ doesn't get the ball very much and i think u_c_l_a_ can do it didn't really win i doubt it but the the blueprint for u_c_l_a_ to shock the world on sarday and send organ to the outhouse incident organ on the on the outside looking in this playoff is very much there you're u_c_l_a_ fan yet what do you think uh. well i am unbiased i pride myself on being the number one unbiased called football personality and all the land as you could tell i think u_c_l_a_ jeff called spout a great video about the russian attack with dean can he's cooking shout jeff i think u_c_l_a_'s ahead of a curve that i think will end up saying more of down the road eventually i don't know when but u_c_l_a_ shuffling in offense lineman in and out in and out they're playing like nine ten offense lineman their bodies are so fresh when they go into the fourth quarter they have the upper hand there i think that is a trend that you will see other teams adopt weather it you know be a college football think probably not have a thing but he is very interesting in u_c_l_a_ wins that way um. but but but can u_c_l_a_'s defense to do anything to stop down to stop uh. stop organs offense in those receivers yet i i i think they can call him here to pride himself on gang after a car back being bullies the blue and bullies he calls on my call in the legion bruise sammy on the sego you got to talk to charles david's brand he's he brought up sammy on the sego i've been annoying you with the mesego talk for eight months now this guy is one of the premier defense players in gaming you also have the recognition for you should be on a n_f_l_ defense he's an elite linebacker there a really good defensive unit that hasn't played up to their speed they've had some entries hopefully tao johnson's playing this week but yeah bring up the guy again uh. man yeah you should be you should be but uh. you know this is it's it you still have the new coach smell the honeymoon but also you've started strong he's changed every single way you play football yeah and and he's turned uh. what was you know i don't know if laughing stock was the way to put no laughing stock is more than accurate so so he took taking a laughing stock and and put some physicality and some meanness into it and you don't see a lot of physicality meanness out there on the left coast so uh. i think it's a fascinating game i i do think organ probably wins it i don't know do we have do we know when dotting more is going to play football yet i don't know i think it's just going to be a week by week case thing i think don't he's gonna want to get back out there i think it might be in his best interest to sit back and just prepare for the NFL get back fully up to speed practice a lot be a great mentor for dill and i think that's what they might do also yeah go ahead go ahead i think they might be better with rio like i don't know if i'd say that well i do you didn't say that i did so so i don't have to say that i'm not gonna say that you could say that the boy they were good when he came in the other night man and he's it's not like he he's not new to this this isn't a freshman back up this isn't somebody you hope turns into like he spent two years in the big ten competing at a high level and having moments where he was really good having moments where he was bad but now he's in a better situation with better athletes around him i don't know i i think it's such a brilliant piece of roster building well i i don't know if i can call it roster building going out and buying the most expensive backup in the country so i can learn for a year isn't exactly reinventing the wheel and then everybody would do it if they could do it but still it's good that they did it because i think it's a very soft landing spot where dante more i thought something was missing for the first month of the season anyway and now dill and rio is coming in and i think they can be just as good as they were going to be regardless yeah i still looking it's like u_s_c_ is soft to sharman and i felt like rio was throwing some floaters in that game that he got away with but i was uh. was having with my mic whaver it's okay cool you c_l_a_ hasn't won organs it's two thousand four leave it with that alright then we got texas oklahoma i'd like to pontificate about this one it stinks man it smells it doesn't it doesn't feel right oklahoma still one of the best defenses in this country and i know they they lost uh by a billion to uh. georgia well you know their quarterback put them in awful spot all day long they lost a michigan the quarterback there was a tie game the quarterback put him in an awful spot quarterback's awful geometers awful the offense is awful they have had two weeks to get their offense back to some semblance of being pretty good the texas offense meanwhile hasn't exactly been great it's been good for moments against ohio state and a moment against tennessee i mean tennessee held that team to twenty points ohio state held that team to what twenty what was it twenty four points uh. so it's not like it's not like this team has exploded when they played good defenses they get in that building it's a different environment the fifty fifty one the most beautiful crown shot you'll ever see if oklahoma can pull him into deep water and keep arched to like uh. his inconsistent self maybe arch has one touch down pass and they go the fourth quarter is ten to six arch makes a mistake all of a sudden oklahoma shortfield bam their thirteen ten and texas is freaking the fuck out that's what i feel like i see that's what i feel like it's going to happen on started i feel like oklahoma after being dead and buried has a punch for texas it's a it's what thirty nine and a half is the over under there's a big time narratives game we look at like outside looking at man oklahoma stinks texas isn't always up to speed out syncs sometimes this is the least exciting red river in recent memory that's what makes us such a very exciting red river the unpredictability of this nature what could happen in the fifty fifty crowds split the momentum shifts that happen in the carnival every year is an exciting game always no matter how dead in the much of a dud it seems what a narrative shift this could be for john mit here just completely regain so many oklahoma fans who are throwing them away burning his jersey what a narrative shift that this could be for arch to finally get a big signature win away from home where he plays at an elite level what a game i think it's brand i feel it's like seventeen sixteen down to the very very final second jersey has a good point in the chat what about the texas defense it's elite and there's a chance texas defense has a sack foul fumble and a pick six in the first 15 minutes of the game there's a chance there's twenty one nothing in the first quarter because john mit here has given up fourteen points and uh. texas has thirty seven yards of offense two first downs and they're twenty one nothing there's a chance that absolutely happens so uh. i'm just you know this texas offense hasn't shown enough i'm going to take over this game and choke my opponent out the texas offense will let teams hang around and if material can just not kill him if he can just not kill him that defense will let them hang around and that's what i see happening on Saturday uh. we have uh. if you're looking to maintain your home field of energy fall check out reobey yes reobey where's my uh. where's my tire inflator my basketball inflator right here uh. they've got so many handy little Good says 2027 draft class was so hype. 2027 quarterback draft class was so hype in the off season and all of the big keys the big QBs have been disappointing. Nope. I mean, Arches is still going to have tantalizing draft stuff. If he comes out, Dante Moore, I don't think the scouts love Dante Moore. CJ Carr has been very good. Darian Ments has been very good. Trinidad Chameless has probably shot up draft boards. So if you're just basically an arch in Dante, Dante Moore with concussion, Arches just being up and down, I think you could make that argument. But there are guys up and down the 2027 draft class that are still really fucking good. And I'm missing a couple by the way. Yeah. Yeah, it's not our fault. It's no way it's fault that all these people wins this season and didn't have Drew Mestemaker at the top of the charts. Or Darian Mentsa and just ranked the quarterback play incorrectly. You know, like Drew Mestemaker, I think you talked to him, Pollock, he just talked about on his show and he's sweet stuff. He thinks Drew Mestemaker's QB1 in this class. And that is the fact. If Mestemaker is number one in this class, that auto to 75, I pulled your stage going to be fantastic. So I might hold on to that thing because I really like it. And then I know that this quarterback draft class is deep and good and, you know, it is October. Arches has plenty of opportunity to next eight games just ball out and just shoot up the draft boards. But if a quarterback didn't exist, this draft class has Leonard Moore, Jeremiah Smith, Colin Simmons, like if there if there was not a quarterback in the draft, it's still a top 10 draft of this century. Like it's still, I think it's still a loaded ass draft. Yeah. Oh no. Jeremiah Smith went number one. Yeah. Yeah. We have to take like the dolphins. Don't like any of the quarterback. So they take Jeremiah Smith and Kamario Taylor next year. That's what's what's going to happen. What? Shucks, man, that stinks. Let's bring up the last window here. Hey, Brandon, hey, Liam, good hair day for the fellas. Thank you, Dave 10x. I appreciate that. How much is UK beating LSU guys as Nolan Mulliken? I don't think they are at all. I think this is an LSU flex or muscle situation. This is just my thoughts. If Liam thinks otherwise, that's fine. I know that Will Stein's a very good coach, the offensive line for Kentucky's good. But everything that they've done that's been exciting this year, what's Kentucky done? They beat A&M on the road. A&M is awful. Still a decent win because Kentucky wasn't winning this game last year. They beat South Carolina on the road by coming back from 17 down, winning 31, 30 or whatever it was, 35, 34. Find like good, better than losing. But LSU has quietly been rebuilding the robot over there, quietly been rebuilding RoboCop and I think they're going to come into Lexington, a well oil machine. And I would imagine they're going to go to smoke Kentucky. That's what I think. Obviously, I've been wrong a lot. So we'll see what happens. You got to read on that one. It just really interesting that the spread is dropped from 10 to 1/2 to A&M 1/2. That perked my eyebrows up a bit. Bring up the last window there because that's where we do have Georgia and Alabama for now. LSU Kentucky. And then a last stand game USC and Penn State as Penn State fighting for respectability in year one and USC fighting for its playoff lives. If you can even should I even consider USC having a playoff life at this point? I guess you kind of have to, don't you? I guess you have to, but you also don't have to. This is more about Lincoln saving face in his job than anything else. Yeah. I mean, I feel like if they, if they go to Penn State and lose this game, go ahead and crank up the moving trucks in Southern California. Because there's just no reason to keep going with the Lincoln Riley experiment. If five years in, you're not winning this football game. You already have no excuse for being five years in and getting shit house by organ every single time you play, but at least that's organ. If they go on the road, they go to Happy Valley and can't keep up with the Penn State team who got absolutely gutted by Northwestern. Then what are we doing, Lincoln Riley? What's the point of any of this? Real tough look when the cross sound rival to is, again, things going immediately. Immediately. Alabama, Georgia, obviously the game of the week, Liam. Yes. There's no questions. This is, this is maybe an SEC championship preview. It's possibly two playoff teams. I certainly think the winner can go ahead and punch their ticket to both the SEC championship game and the playoff, especially, I mean, Georgia's got Ole Miss left on schedule. Alabama's got LSU. Neither play Texas, though. Georgia's got Florida as well, but I don't think that'll be a problem. It's a team in Alabama who scored a lot of points. The quarterback looks very good. The running game is better than it's been. I still don't think it's great. The receivers are great. The tight ends are good. They can score, but they haven't faced a defense yet of really any quality. Mississippi State just doesn't have a defense that is that is great this year. They are facing a top five defense in this country. Chris Cole, they have not seen a Chris Cole yet. They've not seen, um, defensive back. Bolden. Yeah. Bolden Robinson. Yeah. They've not seen anybody that looks like anything Georgia has. I still think it's that SEC thing where you win a big game, everybody cheers for you and then bam, it goes right down. I think Georgia wins the football game. Alabama fans say, "Why do you hate Alabama so much?" I don't hate Alabama really. My mom's Alabama fan. I just think Georgia, and maybe it's working with Liam Blutman. He told me last year the 2025 national title can go to whoever they want. Georgia's winning it next year in 2026. And he said the other day that I have 135 teams in the country. Georgia will be 130 of them by double digits. I just think Georgia has been waiting for this opportunity. Now Kirby has had problems with Alabama, more so than any other team. But I just think I just think that, um, that this is more about Georgia than Alabama. Yeah. And maybe Alabama is one of those teams that could keep it within double digits against Georgia. The one thing I'm looking at here is once again, I'll bring it up every week for when Alabama plays. How do you as a defensive front? How do you as a defensive coroner dial up pressure on Keeling Russell? There were too many times where Mississippi State, low Mississippi State couldn't get inside on them and create some havoc. And he's too happy feedback there. And he's having the blast and he's able to process and scan and dissect you like a sixth grade frog. It's too easy for Keeling at times. You really gotta dial it up and get after him and force him into making mistakes. So that is the one thing I'm looking at here. And that's why Georgia's defense as a whole because there's just too many guys to single out one. That's my player of the week to watch as good as he is and he's very good as sharp as he is as good a command of the offense as he's had. He's six games into his career. He hasn't seen anything like Georgia. He hasn't seen anything like the, even if it's home, the home environment on Saturday, like he's seen Florida State, Kentucky, Mississippi State, South Carolina. I can't remember the others, but that's who he's seen. Georgia is, he's going to be looking across the line at six first round picks. I like, like I'm just thinking over next three or four years is six seven first round pick. Like how many first round picks are on that Georgia defense? It's, it's multiple in an eight to small number. No, it's a very large number. And they got a few specimens and, hey, man, if Keeling goes out there and wins this game this week and then presses, he's got ease that you might be looking face of sport. Riley Jackson says Kirby shits about against us every year. Georgia lost Alabama 2421 in the regular season. That's 100% true. And then beat the living fuck out of them in the SBC championship game. Like that. Let's not act like that didn't happen. That absolutely happened. But again, it doesn't really matter because Thai Simpson won the game last year than the loss of game, but Thai Simpson ain't there anymore. It's a different Alabama. They look more physical. They look better. This is, this is a team that can win a national title. Right? Georgia's team that will win a national title. So it, yeah, I'm kind of just, I'm kind of just saying that because you said it. Thanks. That was a great bar low like credit to you. Yeah, I do, I do be saying bars too slow. Adam, you too slow and then finger got me. Yes, sir. It got to keep you on your toes. You guys do realize This is by BBS Colvic. You guys do realize the curve. Kirby needs to rematch to beat Bama, right? Kirby's 2-0 when he has already lost a Bama on the regular season, the SEC title. That's pretty crazy trash talk from an Alabama fan. You realize Kirby needs the game to be important to win it, right? That would you realize? I'm kind of pretty important game on Saturday. Well, let's say wait until Brandon finds out Texas had a buy too, Brandon Simmons. I obviously know Texas had a buy, but that's not the point. That is not Texas had a buy, that's great. But Texas wasn't struggling. You dumb fuck. Texas wasn't, Texas was gonna be fine whether they had a buy or not. Texas probably needed to physically get better after Tennessee, sure. But Oklahoma needed to reset, send 'em home, and figure something to fuck out. And this was a respite. I don't understand face turn. I like having the chat. Just be a little smarter. Just, I wish I could, if I could sell merch, then when somebody shows me they're smarter enough to be here, I send 'em a shirt. And then they, Brandon Walker's Ball Nowers or something, I don't, obviously Texas had a buy week, but they weren't struggling. The reason you pointed out about Oklahoma, they desperately needed a break. Desperately needed it. Fuck. Fuck. No more cussing. I'm going to face turn, face turn. WVU dead, absolutely not. They got who? Arizona this week? They got some, there's some sneaky games here, Blutman. There's some sneaky games this weekend that are a little bit off the radar. Like, Ole Miss Vanderbilt. As bad as that Ole Miss defense is. Like that Vanderbilt quarterback's been looking for, the Vanderbilt offense been looking for something to break out with. Like, Ole Miss defense might be the answer or Ole Miss might be in about 50. All right, here we go. Coach Ware says not mad, just don't say UCLA has together year one when USC had a good year one under Lincoln. Again, okay, don't cuss. What the fuck are you talking about? What does UCLA have it together in year one matter when we're comparing 'em to USC in year five? USC in year one doesn't matter anymore 'cause that was five fucking years ago. We're in year five of Lincoln and UCLA's already looking better than them. It's a joke. Here's your brain. Jesus. Face turn. Face turn, man, we got NTSU UNLV this week. Boise State, Fresno State, Arizona, West Virginia, Case State, Houston. That's a sneaky one. Yeah, great ball. Taco marks as BFW favorite starting lineup figure behind you. Let me look. We got, I don't know what that is. Wark Dunn, Bo Jackson, Dunn Flutey, Danny Wurfel, probably Danny Wurfel. Joe Namath, Larry Fitzgerald, Eric Dickerson, and Adrian Peterson, probably Danny Wurfel. That's a pretty sick one. Did you see the Georgia Tech Helmet? I'm sorry. There's a New Georgia Tech Helmet. Brad, Brad, Brad. Did you see the Arkansas State Helmet? No. No, I probably got the Arkansas State Helmet. Did you see the Utah Helmet? Well, fuck show them to me. What are we doing? They're just looking at all these helmets. Well, who we got there? Oh my goodness. Yeah, I didn't even like that. My goodness. Is that the Ramlin wreck? Is that Georgia Tech with the fucking? Oh, Georgia Tech, you beautiful bastards. That's suck. That's a government limb. That's up there, man. I need you to see that. I need your pad. I need good Lord Georgia Tech. Stun on these hoes, Georgia Tech. Fuck. That was our, our, our, it's helmet. Has, has helmet game gone through the fucking roof this year? I think helmet game. I think they're starting to toy with some things. I think the Arkansas State one you'll see. I think it's hit or miss. But more teams are trying to like the, to lean into the mascot stuff hard. So if Luke, he's got that one, Ray. Who we got here? Oh boy, boy, boy, look at that thing. Not as good as Georgia Tech as Georgia Tech might be a top 10 helmet I've ever seen in my entire life. But boy, that's, that's good. I like that. If you're Arkansas State, why not? Why not go? So we have a Utah helmet as well. The Utah one, I'll, I'll let you be the, the judge of, oh, you're not as high on the Utah helmet. I think it's now got to be careful because I found out last week, Utah fans are maybe the most sensitive. I've ever seen in my entire life. And when I rank Morgan Scali's the eighth best higher the offseason, they, they cannot handle it. And they break down emotionally. I think it's a tacky helmet. You think it's tacky? I see whites. It's, it's a, can I say? I think it's a good idea. It's, it's, it's over, it's, it's, it's overdone. It's too much. I think, I think, I think there's a little bit too much ice, a little bit too much white. If they had pulled back like 30% on, on, on how much ice was hanging off the Utah, I think they got something. But I like the mountains. Yeah. They're tacky. You didn't like it. Okay. All right. All right. Two more Georgia Tech helmets again. So many Georgia Tech helmets again. All right. There are, there are other helmets that we missed. Oh, well, always, we'll stop the show and talk helmets. Jesus. We got to do more helmet segments. As too late, wore those fucking Martigrow helmets yet. Yeah. They already warm. I'm talking about, I know we saw them in, in August, but have they worn them. I haven't seen them. Look at those Georgia Tech lids. Shout out to the Tech Boys down there in Georgia. That's pretty sick. All right. Also, my says Kentucky has a new helmet. Kentucky has a new helmet? They do. Well, it's like Wisconsin has a new helmet, but they're just an old helmet. Yeah. There's letters. Okay. All right. Find me. Brandon, what happened to the Martinsburg helmet you had behind you a few weeks ago? Right here, Martinsburg, West Virginia. I want my entire basement to be nothing but helmets. It's all I care about. I've got like 12 right now. I want to. That's just Kentucky's helmet. What are we doing? What? What did we change there? Does the K's a little different? It looks like the K's fatter. Is the K fatter? I think the K's fatter. That's a fatter K then they're normally they normally have. Right. Yeah. Fat K. Hold on. I'm looking at the West Virginia's. The West Virginia has one too. Someone's it's cold rush week. Cold rush week. All right. It's cold rush week in West Virginia. Every every tweeders is in black and white. I don't know why you'd be in a rush to go get the cold. It ain't going nowhere. Yeah. It's just okay. Kind of hard. All right. Have you seen that guy on Twitter that has like 200 helmets? Well, there's dudes who have thousands of helmets. And I envy them. I'd like to be that dude. You have it? We got to get to, by the way, we got to get to David Pollock and Brooks Austin. Okay. So you don't have it. All right. Well, maybe we'll have the West Virginia helmets next time. I'm pulling it up. Come in. It might not. I thought someone knocked on the door. Anyway, you're pulling it up. Okay. Well, I guess we're just frozen here. We're just sitting. Sitting. Did you have a good dinner? Who? Yeah. A really good picture. Uh, sure. I just had. I don't know. I see Liam. Yeah. This was my. Yeah. This was the issue. Yeah. That's. No good element. Yeah. Yeah. Thank God. Thank God. Thank God. You slow the show down for that. It's all they put out. That was bad. That's what I was trying to find. All right. We will be back Saturday night. Me and Liam. But for the next 30, maybe 40 minutes. You know how much time each of these hands. Pollock was like 25. He was a little bit over. We got a total of 50 minutes. Ooh. Total of what? 50 minutes. Oh, you said 50. I thought you said 15. So we got 50 minutes left in the show. Yeah. Oh hell. Enjoy everybody. All right. Coming up right now. It's David Pollock. It's David Pollock. All right. This weekend. Don't know if the hurricane's going to get it. Don't know what's going to happen. But as of right now, we got Georgia Alabama this weekend. And I know somebody has played in several Georgia Alabama games. Actually, have you? Hold on. Yes, sir. Was Georgia now about playing every year back then? How many times you play Alabama, David Pollock? Played him twice. We were 2 and 0. But that was before Alabama wasn't Alabama yet, right? It was pre-saving. Correct. Nick was at LSU. So we were playing LSU at the same time. Okay. All right. All right. Now, we're going to play Alabama, though. It doesn't matter. They don't ask you how or who. They just ask you if you beat them. Thanks, Kippy. We'll take it. We'll take the wins for sure. So a lot of big games, a lot of big players are happening in college football right now. But this is the, this is the market. This is the one that's going to sell all the tickets this weekend. Alabama certainly announced it. himself to the world last week if they hadn't already. I mean, their offense is going crazy all year, but they went into survival and just absolutely in every way, shape and form dominated Mississippi state. Alabama had his coming out party. Georgia hasn't really had to have it yet. Their toughest game has been Oklahoma at home. They won that easily. What jumps off the page with this matchup? Georgia and Alabama on Saturday. First of all, I love the humility of saying that it was a beat down on every level. I love that you're able to admit that. If you're going to therapy this week, I mean, you feel better. Here's the thing about me and people. This is the reason people think I'm an asshole because I will tell the truth in every single circumstance. I will tell the truth about every team in America when a team looks good or is overrated. I'll tell you that. That includes my team and when that my team showed up to that game and was outclass in every single way. Camario Taylor had a little injury issue, little hurt. It wasn't really ready for the big moment fell behind 14. Nothing. And we didn't have the athletes to stay on the field with them. Now that doesn't mean Mississippi state can't have a nine and three season and take a huge step this year. But when it came when it came to Alabama, Mississippi state, there was a big difference in the two teams on Saturday. And if I didn't say it, I'd just be an asshole. Well, I mean, you still can be that, but yes, I think that you're absolutely right, though, Brandon. Like when you look at Alabama before the season, people were hesitant to put them in the playoff. And with good reason, what do we see? The last time we saw Alabama last year, Indiana went frying pan upside their dome. Like they made they made them look like every other team Alabama did for a lot of years, George and the SEC championship game, the lack of physicality. Well, when you're watching Alabama now, you're seeing more of that. You're seeing more nasty. I see more nasty offensive lines tight ends like they're involved. They've got a little swag to them. It was a difficult situation. But here's what we know about this game. I feel very confident in saying that whoever wins this game, you got half the SEC championship figured out. Yeah, you got half of it because neither one of them play Texas. And both of these teams, obviously with their consistency level, it's been impressive. But I think Alabama, they're just reminding you that they do something really, really well. They find quarterbacks, man. They've done it for Sabin finished his career doing it there. And they found another one. And this kid's he's special. He's really good. And when you think about Thai Simpson was the 13th pick in the draft, and this is not a knock on Thai Simpson, there's so much better at that position now. And that's crazy to think about. But his ability to take off and go 50. But more importantly, his want to stay in the pocket and beat you from the pocket. He's just got that special to you. So it's been fun to watch. Bama find themselves again, get a little bit of magic. And then we're right where we always are, Brandon, like Georgia, Georgia Alabama's a big game. So you mentioned it and you hit it pretty much nail on the head. And I say it a lot more crudely. But over the last few years, since Kalanibor got there, the way to beat him was physically, you know, run through their face and hit him in the face and watch him with her. And they did that against Florida State Open the season last year. Oklahoma did it to him a couple of times. Indiana certainly did it to him in the playoff. And Georgia did it to him in the SEC championship game where you hit him in the face and you watch him fall. And they don't really get up. But this year, they got Keel and Russell. And they do have a little bit of that edge and that little pissed off goodness about them. They got that they look more like the next ABN Alabama team. So it would get off the bus, punch you in the face, smile at you and turn around, get back on the bus with the 59, nothing to win. So I think you're right. And Keel and Russell. Mississippi State got him into like 3rd and 17, 3rd and 19, 3rd and 11. And it was dart, dart, dart. And if it was 3rd and 7, it was an 8 year run. Like he is, if he's not the best quarterback in the country yet, which, which maybe isn't, he is going to be very, very soon. He has reservations to be the number one quarterback in the country. And it's going to happen very soon. But let's go the other side. Because Georgia is excellent elite. Everybody knows they're on top five team. Gunner Stockton hasn't even had to really do anything yet. But that defense is is back to I think the 21, 2021, 22 era where it was just dudes all over. I'm talking about dogs. I'm talking about 6 foot 3 running a 4 4 just absolute freak athletes. That's what the Georgia defense is right now. And I'm not sure we've seen it on the biggest stage yet, David. Now, and that's why I'm kind of excited to see like when you watch last week, it makes sense. It's Vanderbilt. It's before big game. A little bit of a hangover. They still win by 24, right? Like they still take care of business. But I'm excited to see this defense. I'm excited to see the passing game and the past rush. Because here's the thing. Here's where the sides more than anything for Georgia. Can they get TFLs? And they get sacks. Like we know that you're not going to line up and pound them. That's just not possible. It's they're too big. They're too strong. But you can throw on first down. And you can if you have a little bit of balance, you can you can keep them off kilter enough to hold them at bay. The secondary for Georgia, really good. One of the best in the country. You're going against three dudes that can absolutely scoot. They can run. They can fly against the quarterback that wants to throw it. So I'll say this. I'm absolutely sold on Georgia. I know who they are. I know what they are. But I think I'm going to find out more about how good their defense is this week because they're blitz heavy right now, which is very weird to say and show. Like they're they're over 50% blitz and they've played several teams without much of a pulse. If I'm going to beat Keelan Russell, I've got to heat him up. I've got to make him feel uncomfortable. And here's the thing, man. Here's the here's the little sneaky thing that you know is going to happen, Brandon, from college following college football. I know good and well, Kirby will have a plan that will confuse this young man. He'll confuse him. Like he will. And then how good does Keelan Russell respond because he hasn't seen all the things. And here's the thing. The last point, you better get him now, brother. You better get him now. He's still green and learning and growing because he going to be a problem. He's going to be a big problem. He's going to be the number one pick in the 2028 draft. I think like he's going to be very, very, very, very, very, very good. But the one guy that jumped off the page to me with Georgia, I know you talk about the defensive backs. Chris Cole in the middle of that defense. Freakily. What even is that guy? Like that guy? That guy is he's six foot three. He looks like he's six foot six in the middle of that defense. He's just running around. He's running like a four three. He chased John Matier, sideline to sideline. It's he is a freak among freaks. And that's why I'm talking about the Georgia defense because I felt like last year they were young and you didn't look there and say, Oh my God, what is that demon in the middle of the defense now? That's kind of back. And they, they used to have like five of them. And now they got it again. I think it's a fascinating matchup. Did you in your four years of playing coach football? Do you have a weather game? Did you have a game? Like, if this is a hurricane, if this, if this is played in a slot fest, did you ever have a game where you look back and like, Oh my God, I can't believe we played in that shit stuff. Well, I was, I was in, I was in Ohio with the bangles. So we played in some nasty, nasty weather. But no, this sounds like it's going to be, you know, tropical storm-esque. We never, we never got to play in that. But it will, I think that we will change obviously the game and what they can do is I don't, you think they'll, some people keep saying like they'll move it to Atlanta. I'm like, bro, they're not going to move it out of Tuscaloosa. Alabama is not going to let that happen. I think it's more likely they move it to Sunday afternoon. I think it's more likely they just move it back a day where the forecast looks like it eases up a little bit and they just, they, they play it. I don't think it would be fair to move an Alabama home game to Atlanta, Georgia. That's crazy. Even though it's not exactly foreign to Alabama to play Georgia in Atlanta. It happens all the time. But still, that just wouldn't seem right. I don't know why you would just move it back a day and let them play on Sunday. Yeah. And it's distractions, obviously, and it'll be interesting to see how you handle. But man, what is with the weather this year? Like, I swear, we've got more lightning delays and cancellations and things move around. It's, it's weird. Yeah. It's why it's why I moved to northern, the northern suburbs of Chicago. I don't have to worry about the heat. I don't have to worry about the lightning. I just have to worry about it being negative nine degrees in two weeks. So that's, that's going to be a fun time. Let's go around the country. Real quick. Jeremiah Smith coming into the season. We knew he was the best player in the country, perhaps. He is running away and hiding with that distinction. He is maybe the best receiver prospect I can remember. You can put him on a field with an elite defense like Iowa till Iowa. By the way, we're throwing a Jeremiah Smith a bunch and they can do nothing about it. I haven't seen a freak to this level in a long time. What do you see? I see a freak 100%. But how about Arthur Smith coming in, man, and taking this thing to another level? Like what do you do in the NFL, Brandon? In the NFL, it's about maximizing your dudes. You only get to pay so many. So you better take a wide receiver and you better know how to get him the ball 55 different ways. And that's exactly what they're doing. Put him out wide, put him in the slot. They've handed him jet sweeps. They've thrown him screens. What you haven't seen a lot of. But like the long strides and the change of direction down the field is really where he's just, I mean, if they get him in the slot and you don't get hands on him, like it's a wrap it. And there was a time when I was like Malachite Tony, like maybe he's the best receiver because he can take the short pass and go long. He can take the long pass. He can take it. He can throw it. Last year we saw him throw it. We see him snap it in the wildcat. But but Jeremiah Smith is showing like, wait a minute, you're going to know where I'm at every single play. And I like what Ryan Day said. He said he talked to Arthur Smith. He was like, Hey, if he's single covered, he's open. If he's double covered, he's open. When he's triple covered, we'll start to have a conversation. So Oregon and UCLA is another marquee game this week. And UCLA Bob Jones and he certainly has changed the tenor of that program. They run it down your face now. But well, I want to ask about Oregon because they got the quarterback situation with Dante more, you know, and he's out and Dylan Ryeola steps in. And they got two high quality quarterbacks. But do you like Oregon's chances to climb back into this national title race after that embarrassing week two loss? Then to get back to where they we thought they were. to begin the season. >> I think I'll be more than climb to answer that question after this week. And I know that sounds weird, UCLA, but I can tell you this, Brandon, like, you know, yeah, your preseason picks, what do you do? Like, you try to hold on as long as possible. I've picked Oregon to win a national championship. And after the Oklahoma State game, I told everybody, I'm jumping off with two feet off this bus. Like, I'm out, I'm off. And to me, the part that disturbed me the most was, when you watch this defense, like, I think a Dan landing, I think of the great defenses, their eye discipline is so bad at times. And when I say that, that just means, like, seeing plays happen and seeing pullers and all these things, let me tell you something, that is exactly what UCLA does. That is who they are offensively. Like, they're going to use Nico in a million different ways. They'll put him at an offset running back and fake the jet to him and run it with Wildcat. They're going to snap at the way night. They have great tight ends that block. They have a passing game that's good, not great. Like, I think I'll be ready to say that after this week because I still have boys in my stead head. I still have Oklahoma State in my head. And it's not, I think the offense, when I go to the offense, it's, where's the run game? Like, where's that physicality that we saw, too? So there's a couple of things that still give me calls for pause with Oregon. >> So you sound like you think UCLA might have a little something for Oregon this weekend? >> Yes. I think UCLA and who they are and what they look exactly like Indiana did a couple years ago. >> Oh, wow. >> It looks like they're disciplined. They're tough. They're structured. They run the football. The highest yards per carry in the country. Like, they do it a million different ways. They stop the run and they run the football. That's an age old philosophy that we've learned about college football. So they look like that. To me, I don't know how much, how far Nico can take them. And I wonder about that spot, but the other spots and who they are and what they are, they just, they have, they have that remnants of what Indiana was several years ago when they were starting to prove themselves and who they are. >> So David, here's a fun fact about me. I'm a crybaby ass bitch. And I, I, I, I, I whine and I cry and I yell and I pout and I do all these things and I'm a performative little asshole. But yesterday, it was announced Indiana and you managed to cancel their future game and, and Indiana's replacing that game with, uh, with Jacksonville State. Indiana, of course, has won 21 games in a row. They're the reigning national champ. Kertzignetti likes to go up on victim media days and say, yeah, we're just following the SEC schedule and model. Well, Texas playing Ohio State and Oklahoma's playing Michigan and SEC's doing all these things. Do you have, I want to ask an actual professional here. Do you have an issue with Indiana scheduling philosophy? The fact they don't have a power for team schedule non-conference in the next five years? Or is it just he smart Kertzignetti has figured it out, has figured out it doesn't matter. It's figured out just focus on the conference games and should I shut my whiny ass up? >> Well, first of all, I want to hear their whiny ass mouth right here. If you were making the decision and you were booking the schedule, Brandon Walker, you're booking it and you want to go win a national championship and you want to get in the college football playoff, what route would you go? >> So I actually would, so I do respect the way Texas and Ohio State do it. And I think there's an element here that Indiana has forced its way into the top echelon of college football. They are now in a elite program. They're in a conversation with the best program in the country and he is one of the best coaches in the country. And I don't think there's a problem in flexing that and showing that and saying, you know what, we're the best now. Georgia Tech, you want to not Georgia Tech, who's a good team doctor? Tennessee, you want to play us? Come on, Tennessee, let's play. Miami, you want to play us? Come on, Miami, let's play. We'll take care of our business in conference even if we were to lose it, we're going to still be there at the end because we're damn Indiana. And I don't see that. I see I see somebody saying, you know what, when game the system have a preseason from the first four weeks and then just worry about the big 10 schedule. And I think I would challenge myself a little bit. Well, and then guess what? He won a national championship at the end of the year last year. And nobody talking about that schedule at the end. So that's the ultimate goal. Here's the thing. Here's what we have to get to at some point. And we're going to get to it this year, which is going to be fascinating. And I'm sure you have so much faith in the committee like me said, nobody ever, no faith whatsoever. When we do have some of these teams, man, that have played very few teams, very few real teams. And now they're matched up against a nine and three team that has played four or five ranked teams that have a couple of wins. If the committee doesn't reward that and doesn't, and doesn't affirm that, then here's the thing. Why wouldn't everybody continue to do the same exact stupid thing? This is, this is such an easy fix. But this is just like a lot of college football. There's a lot of things that are easy that we don't do. Everybody should play. We should have a cross conference matchup from every single team. So Indiana should play an SEC team during the regular season, a big, a big 12 teams during the regular season and a SEC. We want to talk about best conference and who's this that and the other. Let's get a bunch of data points. Let's cross matchup all these things. It'd be a heck of a lot more fun for all the fans and it would be more competitive games. I mean, schedule disparity is a problem in college football that nobody acknowledges as a problem in college football. Like Miami is an elite team. Notre Dame is an elite team. But both of them pretty much only play each other. I know Notre Dame also plays BYU, but they have two or three games I got they got to get up for now counterbalance that with Ole Miss. Ole Miss has already played Louisville open the season. They've already played Florida. They've already played LSU. They got Georgia in Texas coming up on the schedule. They got Oklahoma coming up on schedule. They got Missouri coming up on the schedule. Like it's pretty crazy that we're asking some teams to run a race this 200 meters long and some teams to run a race this 10 meters long. So anyway, I just I get on my soapbox and I rant and I rant and I rant and it doesn't do anything. I know I don't accomplish anything. Anyway, and how stupid is the SEC is the first time we've ever seen them make a really stupid business decision. Hey, on top of that, now let's play nine conference games. Yeah. Like that makes a lot of sense. So the SEC did absolutely cave by the way to do all the people talking. LSU Lane Kiffin feel like it's been a rare quiet couple of weeks from them. They have Kentucky this week. Kentucky's been making waves. They are certainly coming a long way under wheelstein in year one. But you have the sense. I ask you the same question about Oregon. Do you have a sense of LSU can put the early season loss behind them and get back into this race? This national title race. I do. I feel I feel like if you're going to ask me to pick a team that's outside of the top like five, six, seven range. Yeah. LSU feels like the team. Now listen, to where the number seven at LSU, that means you're the best. Like you're the best of the best and trade as green and with weeks. They're both hurt. They need to get those guys back. Those are game changers on both sides of the line of scrimmage. But, but the biggest thing that happened to LSU, the biggest blessing was Sam Levitt getting hurt. Sam Levitt got dinged up and now Sam Levitt kept his behind in the pocket and it simmered him down. He's got plenty of arm talent. He's got plenty of ability to make plays down the field. You watch him early in the season. It was so fast, man. So fast like he's wanting to get out of there as fast as he can. Now, if he can continue to play from the pocket, I think that defense is dirty. I mean, it's dirty. It's so good. And so I think they'll keep them in every single game. Levitt's going to have that playmaking. But if he can learn to use what he has with his system and they continue to to grow, I think he'll use one of those teams. I feel like here's the thing. I feel like the ceiling for LSU is a lot higher than most teams. By the way, I did a shitty job of introducing David Pollock earlier. He's from the sea ball get ball podcast. You obviously know David Pollock. He tells me every single night on Colossal ball 26 that my play calling is terrible. Guess what, David? Eleven national titles in a row. Kind of they don't just happen by accident. So they happen by turning it to the lowest level and picking on everybody. I want to ask about the most fascinating conference in America to me in a sense that it's not the best conference. But the big 12, we're five weeks in. It's still wide open. I have no idea. You got Texas Tech who's good, but the quarterback play has been spotty at best. BYU is just a steady issue goes, but they threw for 60 yards the other day. Oklahoma state lost the tosses beginning of the year. And then they beat West Virginia on the road. They beat Oregon and they're obviously Drew Mestermaker is putting himself in the high husband. West Virginia's had a fascinating start to the season. I was good. Utah is really good with Morgan Scali out there. Arizona is not bad. All over the country, there's something interesting in the big 12. What are you making this league? And do you think at the end, Texas Tech will just circle around and say, Oh, by the way, we're the best team the whole time. I love this league. I love watching it week and a week out. It's the most competitive conference top to bottom. And it is consistently. I do not, I do not believe what I'm seeing from Texas Tech. Like I can't, I can't buy into this most inconsistency on offense. Like that you can't tell me that they can't run the football. I'm shocked that they can't line up and dominate. They got one of the deepest running back rooms in the country. Like they, they, the lack of consistency on that side. The defense is scored as much as the offensive score. And the defense, you know, will get more challenges down the road. A lot of good teams. Utah perks my ears up a little bit, but also we go back to they ain't played nobody yet. But I think offensively what I'm watching from them, they've replaced the line of scrimmage really well and they got more playmakers than they had in the past, which could lead to some good times. But here's the thing. Give me the cowboys, bro. I know they lost the Tulsa. I get it. If you watch the game, they had four, four down conversions that they missed. They turned the ball over several times. They were, they were learning who they are. Their defense is way better than I thought. And they got the number one pick in the draft. Like Drew Mesta maker is going to be the number one pick. And we, if Drew Mesta maker's last name was manning, he would already be He projected as the number one. pick in the NFL, in the NFL draft this year. >> You, you think come April drew mastermaker will be the first name called in the NFL draft? >> Yes. I see. >> I love it. >> I love it. I see so much greatness in that kid and first of all, his story, obviously you fall in love with and that's the immediate comparison to Josh Allen, zero stars coming out of high school. Zero starts. The dude didn't start a high school football game, like when I had him on my pod, Brandon was like, okay, I get it, dude, like you thought you were quarterbacked. But how do you believe in yourself when your coach in high school says you're not good enough to start in high school? He went to his coach and said, hey, coach, I want to help the team. He started at safety, 6-3, 2-15, Brandon, I could take you through the tape, man. And there are five or six throws a game that I'm like, that is arm arrogance. You should not throw that ball right there, buddy, can. He throws it versus man, he throws it versus zone, he's got enough athletic ability to shrug people off and make you miss, like the Cowboys defense is really good in the red zone, really good on third down. They play super hard. No one's going to stime me that offense and they have the most balance. So like if you asked me to pick, I think the most feared team should be Oklahoma state in that conference. >> Love it. I absolutely love it. And not just because I pulled a pull to a Drew Messmaker auto to 75 years today. And hopefully if he's number one pick and wins the Heisman, I can make a lot of money off that deal. That's neither here nor there. Let me ask about Miami and Notre Dame because they are clearly two of the best teams in the country. There's no doubt about that. You talk about the defensive talent on Notre Dame and the quarterback and then you talk about Miami. It just dudes all over the field. Darian Mensatoni, Mark Fletcher, I didn't even have to do anything yet. But they are clearly loaded. But they're both aiming towards a November showdown between the two of them and that's pretty much it. I mean, Notre Dame isn't sure to be why you used credit to them, but the ACC isn't challenging Miami at all. Notre Dame schedule isn't challenging them at all. Do you think we get to the 12 team playoff and these two teams are unprepared for the quality of teams they'll play or will it matter and they'll actually be fresher in everybody else? >> I think you can look at it both ways. I hate that Mason Heinz will got hurt for pit because I think pit could have competed with Miami because here's the thing. When you look at Miami right now, there's a lot great to look at. But there is several things that I look at, I'm like, their secondary right now is not good. It's very ungood. It's a struggle bust in the back end. They're not healthy. I get it. Offensive line that a couple guys go down this past week. The offensive line's not in a great spot right now either. It's not elite of elite. It's not like it was a year ago. So here's the thing with a lot of these teams and Notre Dame's in that category. Nobody wants to peak right now. This is not when you're supposed to peak, you're supposed to peak late in the season. And Notre Dame feels like one of those teams, like last year you saw them lose early in good a competition. But they got the quarterback. They got pass rushers. The run game is slowly finding themselves. It's 100% a blessing to be able to feel your way through the season like Indiana. To make those mistakes. To not have to play guys in the second half for the majority of games. You don't think that's helpful, that's 100% helpful. But also as a coach, you also, you like to know when the Shiznick hits the fan, what the heck do I have? And what do I know that I can rely on a lot of times you don't have those answers. And I think with Miami, there's, there's more concern with Miami to me than Notre Dame right now because of what I'm seeing on the offensive line and in the secondary. Last question. I'll let you get out of here. Thank you very much. By the way, check it out. David Pollock, see ball, get ball, podcast. My last question is this. Can you make me feel better and can you give props Camario Taylor and tell me that everything's going to be okay. Everything's going to be okay. I mean, I think if you look, think about if you started the season, like if before the season, if I told you where you were right now, like you'd have been jacked up excited. Yeah. Over the moon. Over the moon happy. I think levy has those guys believing the offensive system. Now here's the problem. Here's the thing I'll say, it's not going to be okay if Camario Taylor is in a boot again like he was last week and if Bothwell's not back, that dude's a hammer. Like, because because here's the thing that I'm watching the tape and I'm like, okay, I understand what people are doing to Mississippi state now. They're literally going to go four down. They're going to play two hang players out wide. They're going to be like, if you want to run the football, run the frickin football. Run it. We ain't letting these track stars hit their head on the goal post and let the band play with one big play. We're not giving you those. So Bothwell's the guy that can break those tackles because he's a big hammer. But he can't have one carry. He has to be a contributor in this offense and be a focal point or else it's going to get a lot harder for these guys. But Zach, Zach coming on the defensive side, dude, they've been so much improved, so much improved. Like, this is a team that they should be proud where they're out. But offensive line has issues for sure. The health right now definitely gives you concern for your two most impactful players on your squad that you need. So those things have to get solidified. But this still where you're at right now, you got to be like, okay, proof of concept, I believe. Are you willing to be put on the spot for a Georgia Alabama prediction? Sure. I don't mind that. I will tell you this. I go back and forth. I absolutely go back and forth and that's okay, good, but that's, and that's what people say. And I know how people like love up one side and the other bottom line is I think Russell's going to get challenged more than he has. I think it's going to be fun to see that. It's hard to pick against Georgia, but it's hard to pick against Alabama at home too. And Alabama still, for some reason, has had Georgia's number for a while now, but I feel like I have more proof of concept with what Georgia is right now than I do with Alabama. So I think this is in the 20s. You know, it's a lower scoring game, a fun game back and forth, typical Alabama Georgia. But I lean towards, I lean towards Georgia in the matchup because I feel like I have more things I trust. You just use a lot of football logic to explain that now, let me use my idiot logic to, to explain my reasoning for picking Georgia every single week. We have put an SEC team on the pedestal and it is almost, it is ended almost immediately. LSU beat Clemson 51 to 10 pedestal. Yeah. They go to Ole Miss. They get beat, Ole Miss pedestal, Ole Miss goes to Florida, get speed, Florida's on the pedestal, Florida goes to Missouri. They're off the bat and now Alabama, the way they beat Mississippi State, all of a sudden Keelam Russell's in the Heisman discussion, all of a sudden all these things are going great. Well, that wasn't a great defense he played and now he's going to play one of the best defenses of the country, maybe the best defense. It feels like the latest pedestal team that gets knocked off real quick, but that's just what I think. Anyway, that sounds pretty logical, by the way. That's pretty, that's pretty big brain right there by you brother. See David, that's the trick with me. You say things and you pretend like you're an idiot, but actually what you're saying is very rational and logical and you're smarter than everybody else. Anyway. Okay. All right, by the way, you did this to begin the season. We did great numbers with you. I appreciate that. It means a lot to my channel. It means a lot to me. So I appreciate that. And you said you would stop by in the middle of the season and you did. So I appreciate it. Absolutely, brother. Anytime. Thank you, man. All right. Thanks. That's David Pollock. All right. All right, film time, film guy time Brooks Austin, find him the film guy on YouTube. Uh, once again, I'm giving him this shine and he has more subscribers than I do. And yet he hasn't asked me to come on his show. It's really weird. Well, Braden, to be honest, I'm sorry, Braden, to be honest with you, um, why would you do that? Why don't you do that? I mean, is that not your name? That's what a bar still employee said your name was. I thought that was your name. I'm sorry. You know what my name is. It is Brandon Walker. Everybody knows. But let's just go with B walk, B walk, um, no, we don't do guests. I think the only guests we've ever had on our network are Gary Danielson, um, and Jake Butt. And I don't think you meet the quality of content that those two guys provide. So it's not the personal. It's just you. Uh, let me tell you something. I will bow down to Gary Danielson, but I absolutely am one, I am, I am, I'm as good as the content game is Jake fucking butt. Okay. Uh-huh. So and Jake Butt, that's for me to you, buddy. Anyway, you're giving us on too, didn't you? Uh, yeah, but again, no, I'm not saying I'm, but Jake, but fuck you, Jake, but all right. I'm not. And, and all, what all three of those people have a common Brandon is that they watch our program. They're like friends of the show because they watch our program, not just have me on. Do you, do you grind tape? Are you a tape grinder? Do you show up in the film studies? Are you in the chat? Like, what's up? When you're gushing about Kamari Otaylor, I do, yes. Yes. Okay. I take in what I need to take in. Anyway, it doesn't matter last week, Mississippi State, Alabama. So I'm working on a theory and I don't know how to work through it, but here I'm just gonna lay it out. LSU beats Clemson in week one 51 to 10 LSU is the is on the pedestal. Ole Miss beats LSU. They go up there. Florida beats Ole Miss. They go up there and every single team that I just mentioned on that pedestal got humbled. It feels like last Saturday when Alabama beat Mississippi State to sleep the way they did. Just eviscerated them. Man for man just punished them. Alabama has now reassended to that pedestal. They were that for 20 years and everybody's telling you how good Keeling Russell is and he's high as men and all this. Is there any world where Georgia humbles the hell out of them this week and does the same thing that's happened everybody else? Or do you think this is just that Alabama's up to this? Well, I think Alabama's up to this. Particularly the quarterback is. I do think he is this. I think he's unflappable at this point in his career and we're always six games in. But you guys at Mississippi State were put on the pedestal and then went down your leg with three turnovers in the first half. Like it's a totally different football game if we don't do that. One of which goes back for seven the other way. Like you know the deal that that game looks totally different. If we don't have drastic turnovers all catastrophically bad one at midfield on our first possession another one going back the other way and then the other the lollipop interception that gave them the ball what like the 19 like those are all like catastrophic mistakes that we can't do so and most of them self inflicted. We got to that ball the way we'll roll left comario. We can't air mail a ball in the middle of the field on a screen on our late release check down from the back and we damn sure can't fumble the football on a pump fake like those things are all self inflicted. So but I do think Alabama is legit. Um you you've been on this run because I listen to Brandon Walker college football show you been on this run saying that they ain't physical and that they ain't the bamba of old buddy uh they run the ball and they they not people's blocks off nowadays like these tight ends they cut clips every week. They're out there cutting the highlight tape every single week putting people on their back and breaking face mask and chin straps. So what I see is an Alabama football team that is extremely balanced and a quarterback that is playing out of this world right now. Um that's what I see and defensively they're terrifying from a turnover standpoint. Yeah they have five pick sixes at this point in the year. Um they led the nation and turnovers last year they led the nations and led the nation and defense of turnovers a year ago like they're legit Brandon. Yeah. No, I have no doubt about that. But let me let me speak to a couple things you said there. Uh number one is when it comes to the Alabama being physical talk and we're saying they play soft football. Now that has been a thing I've been saying since the board got there for the last two years and obviously this year it looks to be different. This team looks different. They they they look like they run a little angrier. Um this is it but but this wasn't unfounded like when they lost the floor to state to open the year last year. For us, they punched them in the mouth. They laid down a little bit Indiana jumped on them and play off. They laid down a little bit. You know Oklahoma went and went in there into Tuscaloosa last year with half a football team and they laid down a little bit and they did it a couple of years ago. So like this is it. I didn't invent this. I didn't say I just said compared to the old Alabama. This team will will wither and quit every now and then and I never saw that. That is soft and that is not it's but they're nowhere near physical that they used to be. Now they are running the ball better this year. The offensive line does look better. But there's still not running it like you would expect Alabama to run it. You would you would agree with that. Right. No. I wouldn't agree with that at all. Okay. So you see it better. I do. You're you're you're you see it better. I do. So I still don't see like that at the first one or come alone, but Daniel Hill definitely isn't a running back that's going to scare anybody. Certainly not Georgia. What do you think they run the ball on Georgia? That's two different questions. I asked you to be fair. Yeah. Well, I think that they're running the football to quote unquote, "Bamist standards." It may not look like that. Like the South Carolina game. They rushed like 140 yards because South Carolina couldn't stop a nosebleed in the past department. Like they were shredding their ass left and right. Okay. From a throwing the perspective. So but every other football game they have broken the will of opponents on tape. Like the Florida state game. Those guys want to know part of those tight ends. The even in the South Carolina game, Dylan Stewart, the reason he he is acting a fool is because Josh Ford is bullying him pushing him after the echo of the whistle. Like playing with tremendous amounts of effort getting the last push. And this past weekend, Brandon, they opened the football game in 13 personnel out of eye and run right at your face. So like they're back to this to a standard of like in the fourth quarter to win football games in college, what any form of football to win at a high rate, you have to be able to run the ball and stop the run in the fourth quarter period. If you want to protect leads, you got to be able to put teams away. If you want to get the ball back when you're down, you have to be able to stop the run. They can do this. They can do that now. Can they run the ball against Georgia? I have no idea because I don't think anybody can. Georgia's defense on the front four. They're rotating four defensive tackles right now that are playing elite football. Everybody talks about Chris Cole. He's great Elijah Griffin, Jordan Hall, Joshua Horton and and I'm missing one. They're all playing great. Oh, Valden zone, a true freshman, number 52. They're all playing great football on the interior of that defensive line and gave Arizona. Quintini's Johnson to book ends. There's tough is as it gets in college football. So that's a whole another question. But top to this point, Bama is back to their standard of in the fourth quarter. We're going to break your face off. Okay. See, so I like that. So I like being able to be checked on something. If I say I don't see the running game that of old Alabama and you somebody who's been grinding the tape says they are. Maybe I just have to listen to that. So that's fine. But let me throw eight run in the ball who eight run in the ball is BYU. BYU is out here trying to trick their way down the field. I just got done watching that. They're in trouble whenever they play you talking a couple of weeks. You're definitely a trouble against Notre Dame. You sound pissed off about what you saw in BYU. I expect I expect it to our BYU tape. I'll see them getting down hill not chasing C gap and beyond like doing speed sweeps and jet sweeps and fucking screen passes. That's not what I expect from BYU Cougar football. I don't think that's what you expect from BYU Cougar football either. Certainly isn't. Let me go back to Georgia real quick because I'm going to pause in another theory. Kielen Russell was already doing great things and was having a great year and then really turn if people weren't turned on him already. They really had their eyes turned on on a Saturday when he just showed out and third and 19 he's throwing darts, third and 17 he's throwing darts. It was fantastic. Is there a world because you just mentioned the three turnovers. You just mentioned Mississippi State Camaro when they weren't messing when they weren't fucking up. Move the football and then move the football and then Camaro went out early in the second half when it just got out of hand, but state move the ball. I get half time. I believe it was the total yards were separated by 15 yards or something. Anyway, I say that to say this Gunner Stockton. Is there a world where we coming to this game. Kielen Russell's the headline and we leave Gunner Stockton's the headline. Yeah, I mean, I think Gunner's coming off his best football game of his career. Obviously, I don't know if you noticed, Brandon, but I got my start in the Georgia space. So every single week we start our film studies with Georgia football. I've watched every snap of Gunner Stockton's career and broken down every snap of Gunner Stockton's career. He hasn't played from a ball placement and decision standpoint and a playmaking standpoint in his career like he did last week. This is the best the kid has played up until this point in his career and he continues to get better. He seems to have all the answers right now he understands defense of like what they're trying to do to me as an offense what you're doing and where you're vulnerable. He gets his offense and the right plays it all time. He gets the ball out of his hands really, really quickly. They're extremely balanced. There's a lot of things to like about what Georgia does from a standpoint of if I were a defensive coordinator, I don't know what I start with with regards to what I try to take away because they win in so many different ways. That's what pro style offenses do. That's what balance football teams do. And in my opinion and Kirby smart's opinion, those are the toughest offenses to prepare for and to stop because they can beat you in a variety of ways, but you're right. There is a potential that Saturday night. First of all, I think whoever wins this football game that quarterback will be in second place behind Jeremiah Smith for Heisman. For Heisman conversations because that's how big of a football game this is. But yeah, there is very well a chance that Gunner Stockton, quote unquote out duels, Keel and Russell. It just won't look as fun. It won't look as flashy. It won't look as cool, but I don't give a damn. I've watched pro style college quarterbacks win national championships. And I think this guy has what it takes to do that from a standpoint of we don't beat ourselves. I have one game that gives me a weird feeling and I don't know why gives me this weird feeling, but I just see a world where everything's gone wrong for Oklahoma this year. Everybody's tell them how much they suck. They're terrible. They're awful. And then they show up to this Dallas state fair and they they just have a knack for keeping and they have a defense that's going to pull Texas down in the mud and down in the muck. And this is a Texas offense that has had a knack for getting down in the mud and getting the muck. Is there a world? Am I just am I being too. I don't even know what the word is am I am I stupid or can Oklahoma beat Texas? No, I don't think they can. There's a lot going against Oklahoma at this point. First of all, your buddy Brent Vennibles has never beaten Texas ever as the head coach of Oklahoma. You know that. I'm sure. And I don't see how the offense scores enough. Like I agree with you in the standpoint of like Oklahoma's defense is great. Like they're fifth in the country right now in total yards per game, but they're 25th in the country and points per game allowed. And the reason being is because their office is that bad. Their office leaves them on short fields way too often. often and may even give up points like they did against Georgia. But I do think there's a possibility here where Isaiah Satenga or Satania has enough explosives where they get into field goal range. They get into maybe a red zone area where it's all on the coordinator now to dial up a winner. And maybe he he punt returns something in flips field once or twice. Maybe their defense creates turnovers. But I think we're going a long way to say like maybe, maybe, maybe, like maybe Satania does it. Maybe we do it on special teams. Maybe our defense gives us a couple of short fields like that's way too much for me to think you're going to beat a Texas football team like this. Now that being said, Texas's offense has not played a clean game yet. Not one. And they really haven't in my opinion for like three years. I it's been a long time since I felt like I turned on tape of Texas versus power for opponent. And I'm like, God dang, they're unstoppable today. No, they seem to stop themselves quite a bit. And most of that the last two years is because their quarterback is very up and down archmaning will have one play where he looks like a future first round draft pick. And he'll have another play where he looks like you needs to come back to college for fifth year. So and oftentimes they are right back to back. So I don't really know what to do other than to say they're like, I think Texas wins that game 17 to three 17 to six. This one must have defense is violent. And they are very, very hard to move the football consistently against. Do you think actually film guy? Let me ask you this question. How many guys would I have to guarantee you can have on defense for your comfortable? You can stop Jeremiah Smith. Do I have to give you 12 13 14? How many I got to give you before you're like, yeah, Jeremiah Smith's not going to beat me today. Yeah, give me 13. But because like I would have said 12. Yeah. And we just dedicate two of them to playing him in man to man coverage. That's not enough. But they do such a great job now. And they really have, I honestly go back to the days of Marvin Harrison junior to Ohio State where everybody went into the game saying, well, we're just going to bracket him and play 10 on a or 9 on 10 everywhere else. We're just going to dedicate two bodies to him. And then Ryan Day got like really creative with motions and putting them in the slot and and creating stack bunches and doing things where we can't really bracket the number one receiver anymore. We just have to live with what they do against us. And it's only been put on steroids with Jeremiah because Jeremiah is so good at getting up onto the safety and stepping on his toes and and screwing everything you try to do. You can't play zone defense against them. Like that's what the secret has been honestly. The only way to get off the field against Ohio State in the last two years has been having the balls as a defensive coordinator to play man to man coverage in pressure with five. Miami did it. Texas did it in the second half. Those are the only two defenses to even remotely have success at stopping this mutant. And I don't know if anybody left on their schedule that has corner depth that that feels that good, right? Or pressure rates like Miami did. Miami didn't have superstar cornerplay last year in the cotton bowl. They said pressure rates out of the wazoo. And then looking in Texas in the second half. And it's like, hey, we paid $1.7 million for bow mascot. Why don't we see if he can guard to some bitch? And that's that's what happened. Do you think Oregon, do you think UCLA can have something for Oregon? Do you think UCLA can go in there and and beat Oregon? Yeah, I think runoffice travels normally in college football. Yeah. And they're forth in the country right now running the ball. Like they're very balanced. Now, I do think it's going to require them to risk maybe Niko Himalaya out of getting hurt. I said it on our show last night. I think there's a potential where Niko has more rushing attempts in this football game than the leading Russia from Oregon. I think this is a football game where if we're going to continue to hold the ball because we're not going to stop them on defense. UCLA's defense is very opportunistic. They turn teams over. They give up a bunch of yardage, but they force 12 turnovers at this point in the year. So that's what they live off of. They live, eat, sleep, and die off of whether or not we can turn you over. They're 114th and red zone defense. Like they're bad on defense, but they turn it over. So we can't leave our defense on the field. Our best defense is offense and running the ball. So yeah, that's the only recipe. They have to be able to run the football for over 250 yards. They have to maintain time of possession and they have to be opportunistic on the defensive side of the football. And I think Bob Chesney is one of these guys. I think Bob Chesney is one of these guys that is a damn good football coach and Lord knows he's handsome. Two more questions. Number one, I meant to ask a follow up to Jeremiah Smith is you've been doing this. I don't know how long you've been doing this. I assume before you did content, you did it forever. But is Jeremiah Smith the best player you ever seen on film as far as receivers go as since you've been doing this? Yeah. Yeah. Pretty comfortably. Not even a question. Yeah. I even think he's better than Julio because I always felt like Julio was stiff in college. And it's something loosened us up in pro ball. But there was some stiffness in his game. There is no stiffness in Jeremiah. I don't. Now I got into it with the Ohio State fans last year because before like Malachite Tony's obviously playing with an injury right now. I don't know what it is. But he's obviously not being used like he was last year from a physicality standpoint. But I said last year, I feel like Malachite Tony from a college football perspective provides more ways to get him involved and might be a better college football player. But Jeremiah Smith is the best wide receiver prospect I've ever seen. Because like we actually need a competent quarterback to get Jeremiah the ball. When Malachite's healthy like he can play quarterback, he can do jet sweep stuff like he can he can insert and block on duo like Malachite plays football on a really high rate. Jeremiah is just a mutant from a prospect standpoint like he is over here in his own territory that has really never been garnered. One last question. One last player I want to ask about and I've been going back and forth this fan base because I think if you're going to be at the top of the sport and tell people to go, you stop scheduling like absolute cowards. But now that that stretch is over, Indiana is going to Nebraska this week and then they got Ohio State at home next week. Does the world find out? Josh Hoover is fantastic at Indiana. It feels like he's been hidden. Everybody in Indiana has been hidden because they just haven't played major college football for a month. Are we about to find out that oh, oh, this Josh Hoover, he's he's good up there. I mean, I thought he was good at TCU. I just think anybody that plays in Kendall Briles' system is going to like they're going to put up a lot of yardage. You're going to put up a lot of points. But you also have to live with the turnovers. Like they're learning this in South Carolina right now with Lenora sellers, too. They lead the country or they lead the SEC in total yards per game. But they're a turnover machine because that's that's what the system is. That's what it always has been. Unless there's like one lightning in a bottle season with RG3 out there in the Briles system. But I always have thought he's really, really good. I love his toughness. He plays from the pocket like no other college quarterback, other than maybe Darian Mensa from a standpoint of I'm willing to die today. But I'm not going to flush out of this pocket. I'm going to throw this ball. And I respect the hell out of that anytime a quarterback does that as a former offensive lineman. That's what I respect the most. You can scramble all you want. That's cool. Do all the stuff outside the pocket. That's awesome. But when we have a free hitter that we can't account for and you stare him right in the face and throw over his head and take one off the chin. Those are my types of guys. And and Hoover is one of these. But don't get it twisted. Indiana's about running the ball. That's what they're about. They're about running the ball and playing great defense. And they've done that at a high rate for the last two and a half years. So we'll find out. I think the collager of test is interesting. I think he can extend plays. The thing that baffled me last week or the last couple of weeks with Indiana is the fact that Stefan daily didn't play the first two weeks. And if you've heard anything from signety, he's very open about how they don't really practice. I have no idea how that guy got in that type of football shape to play it with the motor that he plays at considering that they don't practice. It is a joy to watch Stefan daily play football. That do plays like his damn hairs on fire. You going anywhere this weekend? Yeah. I mean, we got multiple plans right now where if the hurricane moves the Georgia Alabama game to Sunday, I'll be going to UCLA Oregon and then getting on a red eye and going to a Georgia Alabama in Tuscaloosa. If the game just stays in Tuscaloosa Saturday night, I'll be there. Is there room on just paints, private jet? Oh, nobody. I'm flying coach. I don't, I don't do the private jet thing. Okay. Well, me either. I was just, you know, I was just, I was just making that's a lie. That's a blatant lie. Yeah, I fly with Portanoid. That's that's Portanoid's jet. That ain't my anyway. Brooks Austin film guy. Check him out on YouTube. He's got breakdowns of all the good stuff. He's more capable of this than. Well, I would say my self, but that's even an insult to him than anybody really. So check him out film guy YouTube. We'll see you again next week. I'm going back to watch big 12 football because people don't talk about it enough apparently. So I got to go watch that. I talk about it plenty. I think it's a fascinating leave. It's wide open, but you just told me to be why you can't run the football. Yeah, I mean, they can't throw it either. They have two straight up outliers. They ran for 300 against some tomato cans. Yeah. So it makes it look like statistically they can run the ball. But go turn that TCU tape off the last week. They are getting there. Rocked in between the tackles. All right. Thanks, Brooks.
