Week 6 Matchups + Wheel of Shame - Fantasy Football Podcast for 10/16
51m 47s
The podcast delivers a comprehensive fantasy football analysis centered on injuries, team performance, and start/sit decisions. Key issues include the Broncos’ quarterback struggles, with Patrick Mahomes’ inability to execute under pressure—highlighting a lack of confidence and poor decision-making—while injury reports plague multiple teams, notably Jalen Hertz (potentially missing weeks due to a blood clot), Mike Evans (groin injury), and others. The Saints’ offense is underperformed, with Kendra Miller showing more consistency than CJ Donaldson, suggesting a strong value in Miller over the rookie. The Chargers vs. Chiefs game is flagged as a poor fantasy pick due to the Chargers’ lack of offensive talent, while the Bills-Raiders matchup is praised for its high-scoring potential and value in running backs and wide receivers. The team also highlights emerging opportunities in injured or underutilized players, such as Cyrus Allen and Christian Kirk, who may offer upside in deep leagues. Overall, the discussion emphasizes risk mitigation, injury awareness, and situational analysis, with a clear warning against playing teams with poor depth or high injury risks. The fantasy faceoff segment underscores the importance of flexible, data-driven decisions, especially in high-scoring or injury-prone matchups.
Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Oh, welcome in. Friday, October 16th, the Fantasy Footballers Podcast, Jason Moore is here, Mike, the Fantasy Hitman, and Andy Holloway. So we're back, Mike, we had, they played football last night, this is what they call that, and the Broncos, I mean, the Broncos, what a team, 17 to 14 and over time, over the defending champions, dominant victory, incredible offensive performances throughout. Bonix had 17 completions, for 107 yards, they had to be like the first quarter, I'm assuming, took him 27 attempts. Oh, that's the whole game. Yeah, 27 attempts to get to 107 passing yards. On, on price mix, I had my, his passing completions, I was never scared. Yeah, of course. Yeah, of course. Man, he's, did you guys see the, the Fitzpatrick? Yes. I didn't get to watch. Oh, baby, so good because it's like dishonoring the quarterback position. It's so good because it is real. It is not networked and, you know, I mean, put through a filter. Put that on here. No, we can't do that. Basically, what he said, he said, he's just, I mean, he said what we're all seeing, which is he is not playing competitive football. I believe he said it was disrespectful to the quarterback. Absolutely. I saw this was like to us watching. There were like 1600, you know, times where Bonix was in a certain situation where he, and he was the first one of all time, like to run out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage. What are you doing throw the ball away? It was really frustrating to watch. And part of it for me, this is speaking, this is the quote, is Bonix is not playing competitively. It's almost disrespectful to the quarterback position. How he's playing the game right now. First of all, you talk about that winner. The guy doesn't want to throw the ball. That's fine. Fitzpatrick said he's throwing it to the flats. He's throwing behind. But he has no trust from his coach. Peyton calls a screenplay on third and eight. Just run up and get let the clock keep going. What does he do? He throws it away. Seattle gets the ball. They have a time out and then an overtime blah blah blah. They come back. He got really fired up about the run. I don't remember it was regulation or in overtime. You talk about the run to the right side. Yeah, that was that was the final. And you watch Fitzpatrick back the day out there when he's got a run to pick something up. Oh, body is on the line. The only thing that matters was that one yard and Bonix. Not willing. We're not there yet. And it's very confusing. Is it his? I mean, his ankle. We have to remember he like he destroyed his ankle back in the playoff game against the bills. He had. I think he bets a injury man. Please. If you remember, I think there was like multiple cleanups, including one that was like more recent to closer to training camp. So I was any of that that stopped from turning up field or throwing down field. No, he's easy to throw with his ankle. Yeah, but just I'm saying the run like the mental block of like being scared that you're going to hurt your ankle again through for a hundred and seven yards. Yes, his coach does not have confidence in him. Dobbins was 17 for 41. Luckily, Dobbins and Harvey scored because the total offensive production was embarrassing. Waddle, unplayable. Oh, we got no, no, no, this guys. I don't even know if you realized it because the game was so bad. This was vintage. Waddle. He got knocked out of the game, guys. Yeah, he missed the look. He went to the locker room or not. He was out. But then he came back. Yeah. Jalen Waddle style. Yeah, this game. It got a little bit exciting when it was like going over time and who's going to win. But the three and a half quarters of this game just brutal the watch so boring. JSN awesome. He's always going to get there. I mean always it felt a little little sketchy. That was another one. I had more on like 93 and a half receiving yards and more on and first half he had like nothing. Yeah. I was not this was the least scared I've ever been. I was like it's going to have. It always happens with Jason. And Seattle two picks Seattle ugly ones saw what was going on with the manual Wilson. They're like this is just way too good. For what is happening for fantasy football purposes. You know who we got to get touches to valus Jones junior. To be fair. That is disgusting. Halani when given this you off to behavior. He was a sickle. Halani was he had some really nice runs there, including the touchdown. You know at this point moving forward with Broncos players. You are terrified. Just say Broncos and chargers. Listen, not playing them. I have bone nicks because he has a game against Arizona next week and I am actively looking for. Yeah, I don't know if I'm looking for a pivot because the the basic philosophy of cam wards out there. The philosophy. Yeah, the philosophy for Denver is if we have any sort of lead over close just pretend like we have a 60 point lead and play that offense. Which is just protect the ball. Don't screw up. Don't take sacks handed off and punt it and let our defense try a score is gross. It's also Friday. But clan Friday. Today's winner of a $100 gift card to fantasy champs.com goes to Tyler McGee. Tyler McGee. Congratulations. Every week we give a hundred bucks away to a supporter over there at join the foot.com and Tyler you are today's winner. Let's go ahead and jump into some news news and notes from around the league. The cultural least. Darius Slayton who never played. Can you release someone that never played. Apparently. And what's wild is falling in the woods is they had let go of like like the giants let go of OBJ. Yeah. And they signed Braxton Burios and then they let go of him. Well, you I think it was. You got hurt. Yeah. But like Darius Slayton had he not been signed and not played by the colds probably would have returned to the giants and maybe played. But it doesn't matter. The Eagles say Quan Barkley did not practice again on Thursday. Devante Smith limited on Thursday. Okay. Octavian Wicks did not practice Thursday. Good Lord hamstrings for all of them. And also. Yeah, we should re bring back up the jail hurts news. Because I was towards the end of the show. We got breaking news on yesterday's podcast. And if you did not hear it. Jalen Hertz. It was reported that he is going to miss this week's game with what was described as a superficial blood plot in his calf. Later reports seem to imply that the that the plot had moved and that this could be a more potentially serious situation where look we went through this with Chris Olave last year. Who missed an extended period of time. The report on hurts right now is his there's no imminent return. It's just out indefinitely. The latest there's a tweet here from John Clark. Who is from NBC Philly says Jalen Hertz could miss more than one game. It could be weeks or months. And then if he's on blood thinners, you you really cannot play. This is like. It's a little. Yeah. Scary thing. What Jalen Hertz is having to deal with right now. And they signed Joe Milton this morning. Yeah. I it's it's too early. We're waiting for more reports. But based on the history of this type of thing. And what you need to do with the blood thinners looks like it's going to be three months. So for fantasy purposes, man, if it's three months, that's the that's everything. Yeah, that would be the rest of your year. And again, you we say, oh man, Devon T Smith, maybe he's coming back. Okay. It without Jalen Hertz. I don't know if he gets back this week. It's terrifying. Devon T Smith gets a downgrade rest of season. And. Would you even want to play him coming off if he's active? No, I wouldn't. Yeah. I get to play him. I probably don't get to play against Mike in our dynasty league. But watch out if I do. Yeah, we'll see who's the starter and how long there the starter and what happens in in a nightmare season now for Philadelphia. Common unguy did not practice again on Thursday, recovering from toe and thumb injuries. Caleb Williams practiced in full again. So he'll be back. He had a weird press conference. The weirdly aggressive press conference where he would not reveal the grade on his. That was kind of embarrassed. He was really upset because he's like about how things were a false report. So I'm not going to tell you the truth about it. That'll help that it was, but it guys it was a. It was born really serious. That's not how we do it. Man. That doesn't just say it was a grade one. And that turns into us doing this conversation doesn't happen unless you. You know, you just got to you put your face into it. Go out there. Playful. Just say it was whatever great. It was a great one. It was great too. I'm it hurt. I'm practicing. I'm going to go out there. I'm going to ball out. Yeah. Yeah. I won't tell you from showering. You know what I mean? The March action did not practice again on Thursday. So the latest on him. He could still play. But I really, I really, really doubt that he plays this week. Grinch on junkins did not practice again on Thursday. We expect him to miss Dylan. Dylan Samson was upgraded to a limited practice with the knee. So it is possible. Wait. Do we have a report for today? Junkins is out there? What's seen?
Looking at this immediately both seen this a.m. Well, okay, what's with these ankles just getting better over what? What are you on porting on injuries? Travy on Henderson yeah, he was out there. He lacked this scene. Not only was he practicing, but he looked fine. He was like cutting on the ankle. And so I would expect him to be out there. Maybe that's not a little bit more. It's not a high ankle. Spray mate. Well, no, a high ankle spray. I used to talk about it. It was usually either zero weeks or three weeks. Unless it was like a surgery. I arsed it, but just so weird. Yeah. Well, yeah, they certainly couldn't be the same thing. No, not the same degree. It's like a hamstring. Breeze Hall and Adam Mitchell are officially out. Cool. Can you get Breeze Hall gets Mike in our dynasty matchup? No, you don't. Yeah, I know. Can you answer the full practice? You should clear the question protocol. Omar Cooper, Jr. We'll be back. Crystal Lava did not practice again Thursday. Cool. I get to play him a kid's bike dynasty. Are you playing Mike? Yeah, this is my whole team. But we're not doing this. I know it. It's an illness. So hopefully he is good to go by Sunday. But it stinks. And we have some matchups today. We'll get into Jeremiah. I loved to not practice again Thursday with his ankle injury. They're trying to take it easy. Rashi Rice did not practice again Thursday. Cool. There it is. There it is. Yeah. So I will say this. He's. Remind her. They're coming off the buy week. He's not practicing Wednesday or Thursday. He's not playing. Like there's. This is. No, and they signed Justin Watts. Yeah. Rashi, if you've got him, uh, don't have him in your lineup. DJ Morton practice. I don't expect him to play with the buy week coming up and Mike Evans did not practice. I didn't like the report. No, we don't. It's his ribs. But it's also now a killing soreness. We do not like that. It's everything. And I don't think it matters. I mean, he's the one guy that's like, if he doesn't practice, I don't like that word ever. I get it because usually when you hear Achilles, it's you tore your Achilles, not sore. That's not as. Once his name is Kevin Durant and the NBA finals and it was sore for game one and game two. We had one on the 49ers called Christian McCaffrey. It was soren. Then it was tore. Well, if he plays, I would imagine you're playing him, right? I mean, because Mike Evans, so far this year while he's been injured and has him in practicing, if he's out there and active, he is pretty much a must start. He had one game with less than double digit. Well, still we have. We have JCM not practicing due to a groin injury. And this was interested because he was playing great on Sunday and then he was gone and we didn't really talk about it. So here it is. Yeah. Okay. So many injuries. So much to talk about. More matchups and we'll make up for one situation we forgot yesterday due to the breaking Jalen Hertz news as well. Fantasy forecast, presented by prize pigs yesterday. We did talk through the Texans Jags game in London, Bears, Falcons, Ravens, Browns, Titans, Colts, Jets, Patriots, Saints, Giants, Panthers, Eagles, six more matchups to talk through today. We also have the fantasy faceoff to finish the show. But while the Jalen Hertz news broke, we had been talking about the the Saints game and that caused us to forget to talk about the running backs for the Saints, which is a potentially good thing that we didn't talk about. Maybe that's the gift that we gave. But I don't have a Miller. The name of the listener who is, look, my friend, you are down bad. You are down bad. If this is what we're talking about. So who, what was the snap break down last week? So I'm seeing Camera at 12 snaps, Kendra at 14 and CJ Donaldson at 19. Yes. Yes. Put away. Right. It was a blowout. No. No. The Saints were not crushed last week by the Vizillion points. It was close enough. There's 23 to 13. Yes. They made a Vizillion point. Where I don't think you're, you know, benching guys. It was definitely a handling. The Saints offense couldn't really do anything against the Vikings. The Vikings offense should have been able to do more, but they couldn't. They did enough. But yeah, it was like Camera last week. He only had five opportunities. 12 snaps. He had three carries. One fewer than CJ Donaldson. And even though Donaldson led in snaps, it really was when they ran. The ball was Kendra Miller. Kendra had 10, 10 rushing attempts. And so it's kind of a, it's, it's a duty situation. I mean, it's like, I don't really do the, and I say no duty free. No. No. Not even taxes. Not due to you. Why? This is, uh, this is got. This is the battle. Spell the other one, Jay. Yeah. I'd go IE. Yeah, I would too. Me too. But you can do you best. To do it. How are you? How are you? How are you? You want to do. But yeah, it's, it's disgusting. If I had to start one of them, I think I would start Kendra Miller for potential touchdown. I actually, I'll say this, I have liked. What I've seen from CJ Donaldson before. Like he's, he's had some snaps where he's, I mean, he's a rookie and had some, some plays that he looked okay. But I mean, how about none? Yeah. That's why I'm saying no. I'm saying you're down to bad, my friend. Ben Chimalt. I will say that this, Kendra Miller is a junior in the popular start sets. Travis H and Junior is really, really, really taking the Michael Pinnix approach. And it worked very well for Pinnix and it's just like, just watch to a play and then I'll look great. Pinnix did not get back out there too. It was going to be the starter and then they watched him and they're like, dude, we need Pinnix so bad. And right now it's like, we need Travis H and Junior. Would you play Damien Pierce with the match? Yes, I would. Or would you play Kendra Miller? I would play Pierce. All right. First match up for today, the Steelers at three and two at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who just got their first win, their one and four. It's in Tampa. The Vegas line is Pittsburgh minus two and a half over under 39 and a half. The Tampa Bay defense has actually been, yeah, they've been good. And then they were even better last week in a game where we expected them to lose. This is the second lowest like over under number of any game in week six. And you can see kind of why I mean, I don't understand how Jalen Daniels gets it done against Pittsburgh. I mean, their offense is like a mechabooka nine targets turned into something like 39 receiving yards last week. If you watch Daniels play and this will probably be his last start for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If you watch him play, he has, it's like 1,001 I'm running. That's about how it goes. There's no check downs. There's very rarely, you know, we saw a lot of that with Baker with with Bucky. I wouldn't count on receiving work with Bucky. He was lucky last week. He did get one pass on the six yard line. He scored on it. Bucky will get 15 plus opportunities in this game. It'll be against the Pittsburgh defense built to stop him. On the other side, Rogers has been playing pretty good football. But, you know, to me, I looked at his prize picks projection, which was 231.5. We have our fantasy forecast at the end of the show. Taking his last was on the board for most of the week. It didn't end up in my lineup. But I would expect this to be a very low scoring game. The running games get it done. And ultimately, I think Pittsburgh will be kind of the bigger bully here. But what do you guys think about your start sit decisions with guys like, you know, DK Matt Kaffa Bucca? Yeah. With those guys, I don't want to play them. I think that there are better options out there. A Bucca finally had a good game. But remember, it was a rushing touchdown. That's not going to be happening on the regular and the passing work just wasn't there from Jalen Daniels. DK Matt Kaffa is like, you can always start him because you know, he's going to get nine targets in this game. Will he get, you know, 30 yards? I don't know. I doubt it. Yeah. Last week was the first time he didn't get the target. It's even more scary. And Warren is dog. Uh, he's amazing. You can't not play back week one for me. I'm just mentioning it. Like they said that when he comes back, it's going to go back to a time chart. Well, I believe that I recently the most recent thing I saw from McCarthy was like Warren's are dude right now. Yeah. He is whatsoever. And we're going to ride the hot hand. They have to. He's been 7.5 5. 5.5 6.7. He's been up there with, I mean, he's been playing like beach on, I mean, that sounds outrageous. But every time he touches the ball, he's great. He's had breakaway runs right now. And if a leaders in yards from scrimmage, he's number three behind beach on. And he wasn't, you know, the full workhorse guy to start the year. So Warren is in Bucky Irving is in. He's getting enough opportunities every game. And I think that you're not going to pass on the Steelers as easy as you're going to run on the Steelers. The, the bucks opportunity in this game is let their devins have been playing good, shut down air and Rogers. You're at home and then run the ball as much as you can. So to me, it's like Bucky Irving, Jaylen Warren in Bucke Deke Meckef and Pat Frye, too. Pat Frye, me. What's going on? He looks like I'm a Jeremy. I'm a man. Yeah. We'll talk about Jeremy too. I mean, I just mean like the consolidation is starting to happen with Pittsburgh where Roman Wilson, Michael Pittman, gone, Frye, Muth had two touchdowns last week, 23% target share last week. And in Gerber, Bernard, he was the one that had the nine targets. Meckef only had four last week. So the problem, the problem with the Jeremy hype is you'd love to have a much better matchup than agreed. The lowest overrunner and a situation where you might be winning and handing the ball. I would also say the biggest, you know, the biggest thing for me is it was one week. You know, so it's like, I need to see it again. Well, I mean, he's really had two opportunities and to be like a out there as a starter and both opportunities, he's gotten a bunch of targets. This one was far more production and there was that's, I think you would share it. But I like how you looked in week two, like, yeah. There was something about.
you know, Rogers is basically like quiz to Bernard. He's like, and gave him a whole bunch of scenarios. - Who's your favorite quarterback? - Who's fault is it always? - That's probably in there, and he's like, yes, chef. - Who's the best cracker's quarterback all the time? - But it's in like, okay, here's the coverage, here's the situation, where do you go? And it's like, and because Aaron Rogers doesn't want, Aaron Rogers just trusts, who he trusts. And Bernard, yeah, there it is. It was from Nick Faribah, so like we, he Rogers extensively quiz Bernard, about coverages in each situation, of the cult select to run by down distance, and that turned into nine targets for Bernard. So like, I don't, he's not a must play by any means this week. He was my number one pick up. I think he's in like, flex consideration. But this is just, this is- - Would you rather play him the Metcalf or? - It's pretty close. - I mean, I see those guys similarly. - It's pretty close. - I would go Metcalf ahead of Bernard, but Bernard is on the must watch list. Like to me, he's not someone I'm playing, but I, you got to keep your eyes on him, 'cause he's a rookie that looked good and has opportunity. - Yeah, the difference between the two is like, Metcalf has been getting kind of big boy targets, you know, further down the field. So it only takes one or two to hit, where Bernard will probably- - Bernard will probably PPR his way. - Yeah, he might, he might, Mike. The Cardinals are one and four, and they still get to play in the NFL. They're taking on the Rams in Los Angeles, who are two and three. The Rams and the Super team, underneath 500, won't be for long. They're favored by 12 and a half. - I'm told we got good news for Jacoby Berset that he is no longer- - Remember the Cardinals? - He no longer owns the lowest yards per attempt. - Thank you, Luke. - 'Cause Bonyx. - The overrunner in this game's 51 and a half, so you're like, "Oh cool, Cardinals no, they're at 19." (laughing) The Rams are at 32. Let's start there. Start Stafford, start Kyron, start Korum, start Pukka, start Devante, start Higby. - Okay. - There's my start of the week. - I like that. - I did have a good question on VB. - It's Colby Parkinson's course too. - Yeah, I wouldn't either. I could also see a situation where they don't need Higby, although the matchup against the Cardinals tight end is so easy forever through multiple coaching staffs. It's just like, I don't know, something in the locker room, but would you start Friar Muth or Higby? 'Cause that's, I think the exact level. - I would start Higby on a team that is projected for 32 points instead of Friar Muth on a team project. - Yeah, that's funny. - Like, shows I'm playing against you. - Tell us what I started the week, so I have to say that. - Question in terms of confidence for Korum. 'Cause I know points wise came through 14.7 points for fantasy. That was nine opportunities. - If I can't play him over here. - If I can bet, would you? - Oh yeah. - If I can bet Korum's, if I can bet whatever, Korum's over in the fourth quarter. Like, you know, I think that at the end of this game, you're gonna see Korum making people go in the next week, being like, "Ah, it's a split." It's a split now for the Rams. 'Cause that's what happens if they're gonna blow out the Cardinals, which they very well might. Maybe the Cardinals put on a shine, but they-- - They're coming off a loss now. Cardinals, we're already gonna get killed. Now, Chameleon Bay is furious. - Yeah, so-- - This is not gonna be hard. - I would imagine if you're up to scores in the fourth quarter, you're gonna work Korum into this game. And if you work, Korum and it's going to work. He's going to succeed, so I don't mind starting Korum. - Wait, Michael Wilson's prize projections is five and a half reception. - Prize picks? - Prize picks, thank you. Prize picks, projection at five and a half reception. Gosh darn it, I did not see that one. (laughing) - Well, look, I actually am pretty worried about Wilson this week. I-- - Are you? - I almost put him his last projection into most. - Oh, wow. - Yes, I am pretty worried about it. - Just six catches? - Yeah, I mean, I like that more than a yardage number. - Yes, oh yeah, you know, I don't want yards. - But to be fair, I mean, he's had two games. Actually, three of his five games, he's not had six catches. So, it's not been quite as easy-- - McDuffy. - It's not been quite as easy and, you know, you want to let Jaylon, or what is it? Jaylon Brooks and Kendrick Bourne and these guys, I mean, McBride and Wilson were double teams on every play last week. Jacobi Brissett's not playing good football. Cardinals have no explosive running game. Jeremiah Love might miss. - I don't think Jeremiah Love plays in this game. What I've been seeing from beat reporters is like, there's kind of an expectation. Not saying he, you know, absolutely is out, he could play. But I think right now, the real, like him, not playing is very realistic. You have to be prepared for that to happen. If that happens, obviously Tyler Algier, all alone, still you're playing against the Rams, not a great matchup, but all alone. I mean, the opportunity's great. I play Algier above that whole, like Damien Pierce, Reigns players. - I just think it's gonna be a painful week for the Cardinals. You always play McBride, of course. Algier, if he's alone, you have an option to throw him out there in that same tier as Pierce and whatever. Who's another, Ken Ray Miller. - Yeah, I'd play him over those guys, if he's alone. - I've been so, like, unimpressed with Algier. On his opportunities, am I stupid? I mean, he's averaging 3.4, a carry. - A lot of times his carries are those situational carries where you're expecting, you're needing him to get a yard or two yards, and if he gets two and a half yards, it's like he did the play and it was good. So yards per carry go down. That's just kind of how he's been utilized. He's been more of, he's been worked into the passing aim enough where I think he hasn't done much in the passing aim, but targets are there. If he's alone, there's enough opportunity. - Okay. Let's take a break and we'll get into some more matchups and let's Mike, you have anything else to add in that one? - I do not. - He's still a huge cardinal fan. - I do, brother. - I really enjoyed. - My life has been unburdened. - Yeah. - Oh, we got. - Hashtag Bidwell out. - We have, I mean, there is an actual movement. Which way, hey, shout out to Mr. Raysie Sports getting this one going. Like, there's a, people are raising money. We're putting billboards up to get rid of Bidwell ownership, which it won't happen, but I love the effort. I love what's going on. But I'm just like, okay, 'cause you don't care. - It bothers me not, I don't care. And that's a peer-honest, I'm not doing a bit. I've just, I've removed myself from emotionally. - Yep. - They can't hurt me anymore. - Stupid chargers giving us one win. We're gonna ruin our draft. - Nice day when it happens. - Freaking chargers. All right, we'll take a break. We'll be right back and talk about those sweet, sweet chargers going on the road to Kansas City. (upbeat music) - Why, why, and I know, I know why, okay. - But why, why are these, like, hyper-controlling, stupid owners of teams? Never able to, like, reach a point at any juncture of their lives where they just decide, I will change. People change all the time. Human beings change. - I think it's the billions. - I see, that's why I said I know the answer to the question. - Do infinitely wealthy people change? - That's, yeah. - No, no, they don't. - No. - No, because they live in bubbles and they make their employees clap for them as they walk through the entirety of the cardinals building and when you think, when you have-- - Give up control. I don't, Bidwell could own the team. - That's the, if he gave up all control. - There are only two ways out of the mess in Arizona. One is that Bidwell sells a team that's not gonna happen. - No. - The other is that he gives up president of football operations control. He hires a legit person. That person hires the GM and they go to work and also they get permission to spend money. - You actually had a brief time in Arizona where this happened. - Yes. - And it was when Bruce Ariens was given a huge opportunity and power and control of this team and he has the kind of personality that would match like Tomlin coming in or somebody that is gonna be demonstratively convicted about their opinions. And Bruce Ariens in the cardinals had a successful run and for a long period of time they had a good team. They went to the NFC fighter game. - The parmer, Carson Palmer Arrow was very strong for us. - Now it is, now it is yes, men. All right, the chargers are O and five and they have a projected or an implied point total of 17. And they failed to hit their implied total in four or five anyways. The chiefs are four or no. The games in Arrowhead, the chiefs are seven and a half point favorites. The overrunners 41. - I mean, the NFL surprises us all the time. - Yeah, yeah, seven and a half. - And this is me. - This is a divisional matchup. A very important game, obviously for the chargers, for the coaching staff, for the human beings pride and they're gonna give it all they got. Now with that out of the way, they are about to have their pants pulled down and spanked on their bottom so hard by the Kansas City Chiefs, it's unbelievable. They're coming off of a buy to a team that is an atrocious disaster of a mess with no offensive line other than rookies. And I mean, they're just, they're going to embarrass them. Is how I see this happen. - The chargers will play very hard in this game because it's a divisional game. They don't have the personnel. I am the contrarian who wants to click buttons. I want to. - Yeah. - I want to click buttons and say the chargers are gonna find a way. I just don't see the path because you, look, if you told me that the bet is on one quarter, I think the chargers could have one quarter. I don't think you can do it over the course of this game. And I think the start, sit decisions in this game are beyond painful. I mean, there's not, you shouldn't play chargers. - You shouldn't play chargers. You shouldn't play any of them. You shouldn't play lad because he's injured. If he's active, he's not healthy. You shouldn't play Hampton because maybe he's not even the running back you should play on this team. - You're gonna laugh so hard when we get to the fantasy phase.
off because I have a player from this game and a line, a number from this game and you're going to crack up when I, when I read it to you. I can't wait to hear if it's more or less. I can't wait. Yeah. You will laugh. I don't, I don't think you start. There's no arguments. A single one. I mean, Charlie Kohler ran more routes than Gaston. Just forget it. Just forget it. Mike, do you have any disagreement there? No. No. Forget it. No. Play a home. Play, Ken Walker, who has 16% of his runs over 10 yards, which is insane. Oh, man, the Seahawks could have used him, huh? The receipt. I think it's the Seahawks ski, man. Like, I know Halani kind of had a couple things here or there last night, but watch, that was my overall takeaway from the running backroom is watching that watching how Kenneth Walker is used on the, on the Kansas City chiefs because he's the same guy. And, and like, I still think he was good for Seattle. He wasn't, he wasn't ripping off 16% of his runs for 10 or more yards. Oh, you have my homes. It goes along. It goes a long way. I mean, well, they were super well champs in Darnold and JSN. I mean, look, it goes a long way. The scheme. And to your point about, like, we have this conversation on the footcast yesterday, which is our extra episode for the foot clan about Hampton's bottoming dynasty value. The scheme is not right for Hampton in Los Angeles. If you look at what he was successful at, compared to what they're doing with him in Los Angeles, it's, it's a, it's not right. So if you say redemption at 22 years old, you know, he's 21, 22 years old, get to a different scheme. Yeah. Get to a different play call. But here's the question of the game. The question of the game is, who would you take a shot at to get some value at wide receiver for the chiefs? Because Rashi Rice won't be there. Xavier Worthy coming off the buy, they have injuries throughout this offense. Like, where are these going to get his opportunities in this game? Taikwan Thornton had his ankle injury. Yeah, he's done for the year. So you are down basically two of your three starters. So then the next guy up who has the most experience is definitely Xavier Worthy. It seems like if we're looking at how things worked last week, you had Jalen Royals come in for the Rashi Rice role and you had a rookie Cyrus Allen come in for the Taikwan Thornton role. The mid game, things changed, they've had a buy week. So they have a new plan and a new scheme. So I'm going to bet on the best player like that's, you know, it's like, you know, why don't you tell me who that is? I think it's Cyrus Allen. I think I know that that's a late round rookie pick this year, but he's a, he's a quality wide receiver. He had a bunch of drumbeat and camp. And you know, we said like, don't draft guys like this because they don't, they don't get on the field to start their career, but they do get on the field if they're good. And it usually takes something like this. So I think higher odds is, is Xavier worthy has the most fantasy points of these guys and that all of these guys are pretty irrelevant for fantasy points. They run the ball like crazy against the chargers. I'm not excited to start any wide receiver, but I think the upside play is Cyrus Allen because I don't think Xavier worthy is like a great wide receiver. Yeah. Yeah. Listen, I made this decision this week. I had Xavier worthy. I could have played on a buy weeks. I need a guy. I went with Kendrick Bourne of the Cardinals. Exactly. I took Kendrick Bourne over. Because I think Xavier worthy is kind of now in a position. You don't expand what his like strengths are because of an injury. He does the gadgetry stuff, the end of rounds, the screens, the occasional deep pass. And to go back to Cyrus Allen, he is a great player. If you're looking for somebody to stash, you've got an extra bench spot. You know, sometimes, sometimes you can't, you're like, oh, I have nobody to drop. Sometimes like, I got to pick someone up. If that's the case, Cyrus Allen is available in like 92% of leagues. Interesting. Yeah. And Kelsey. I mean, he should benefit from the wide receiver, you know, injuries and stuff. Would you please, Xavier worthy or Jeremy Bernard might, I think I played Bernard. I think Kelsey is the real true winner here. Yeah. Yeah. He should have a lot of opportunity. And then also possibly the passing work to Kenneth Walker or even that even in Johnson, the bills are four and one. They take on the three and two Los Angeles or Las Vegas Raiders. Formerly the Los Angeles Raiders. The Vegas Oakland Raiders, right. The Vegas line is Buffalo minus four and a half. The overrunner is a beautiful majestic 53.5 because ain't nobody believe in the Buffalo defense doing nothing, doing work. That's fun. This game should be like, do you love this game? I love this game. I love the Buffalo bills. The Buffalo bills offense has been absolutely indestructible. It doesn't matter. So long as Josh Allen is there, they're going to put up so many points and their defense. I mean, it's wonderful. I feel like this is there's a lot of green. They're not good. They're just not good. Yeah. If you want to like wonder if Josh Allen will have to he men himself over and over this year. It's looking like it. It's looking like that's so great. A potential way he stays tippy top of the board. I mean, we don't talk about Allen and Cook. Their auto starts every week. I don't think DJ Moore is on the field. So, you know, Mike, you're taking your shot. That don't decade rises from the depths of the grave. We're going. We're going one more. I understand it. I don't know if I do it, but I understand why you do it. Kim Coleman, Khalil Shakir, Shakir last week was the most productive wide receiver. I think Coleman has more of an upside play between the two of them. There's this tier of guys. So, Trey Tucker, my start of the week on the other side in this game, I would start over Keon Coleman. I would start over Xavier Worthy from the chiefs like that tier of guys. Just because I feel more confident that he will be the wide receiver of the team versus like, is it Coleman? Is it Shakir? I don't. I don't know. Yeah. Yeah. So, I think on the other side, there are a lot more questions. Jason, you brought up Trey Tucker because of the defensive, the lack of defense for the bills and the opportunity for him. Obviously, Bowers is your lock, but what are you doing with these, what do you do with the rest of these guys, like the running back room, who, you know, I don't know if Mike Washington was being up. And that's why you got one opportunity. It was confusing. But now he's off the board for me. Like, I don't see a healthy, gentsie not being played by a fantasy play. No, he's still playing. Yeah. Definitely in this matchup, you have to. Yeah. And the other thoughts on like Cousins is a streamer. He's definitely there. It's like the Cousins is in that. Cousins are Rodgers this week. Cousins. This game has a high over under, they're very similar arc types. You're not going to get rushing yards. You're looking for passing yards and passing touchdowns. One of them is playing a good Tampa Bay team on the road in Tampa Bay as far as defensively. And one is playing a great Buffalo Bills team. It's going to score a new year at home and also they are about a defense. I think Cousins is a fine play. Dallas, two and three taking on the Green Bay Packers and Lambo Packers with a big win last week. Three and two now. Vegas line, Green Bay minus one and a half. So that's fun. Also, the over under is 53 and a half. That's fun. I think this game might just be fun. Sunday night football, 53 and a half point over under almost a pick them game. Yeah. This is awesome. Let's start to the week on the Packers side. We did Jordan Love, Martian Lloyd and Matthew Golden in our starts of the week segment yesterday. Christian Watson's an auto play as his Tucker craft. And I think craft is coming around. The thing I wanted to see that I said for a few weeks is everything was like screen passes and short stuff. I wanted to see a downfield target caught a 49 year pass that it was almost a 70 yard touchdown last week. I want to see that progression. It's exciting. So the dependency on the passing game helps him and Golden Watson. Do you guys worry? I didn't get a lot of thoughts from you on whether you disagreed on the Lloyd opportunity this week. I don't disagree on the opportunity. He was the back that received the work when the game was in hand. And so if you're going to take a bet, Martian Lloyd is the bet. You're doing that against the Dallas Cowboys team that gives up a lot of points, doesn't have a great run defense. So everything makes sense. I am happy that I am not the one that made him the story. Yeah. I don't know. I'm not proud of the name. He hasn't looked good outside of one run. And so, but I get it. I mean, it's process versus results. And hopefully the results come from the process process says Lloyd should be a good start. Lloyd should get around 15 touches in this game and against the Cowboys. That should be a lot of fans. The Cowboys are the single worst team against running backs in adjusted fans. Oh, dude, I mean, they give up 25.6 a game and they don't have a lot of guys on the green by side. It's going to be a lot of Lloyd, that Bucky or a lot of Lloyd of like, it just him, oh, yeah, Bucky, like a video game, just running horizontally back and forth until it opens up. It's damning, but this doesn't, this doesn't work in the NFL against the Dallas Cowboys. It did. Yeah. I mean, the, you know, every week we talk about Dallas, it's pretty easy to tell you to start. It's the big four. Javonte, CD and George, yep, yeah. What was your oh, wow? My oh, wow was wrong. I was looking at the, I was looking at the price of projections 65 and a half receiving yards for Matthew Golden, but I thought I was still on Lloyd and I thought it was 65 and a half rush of yards for Lloyd. I was like, what is it for Lloyd? Wow. I can't be there. It can't be there. You can tell us on the, on the other side. We'll talk Monday night football. All right. Do you?
do you happen to have the number for March on Lloyd 42 and which makes which is why I was like oh wow 62 well we're going to get into fantasy forecast and your or face off and you're going to you're going to laugh at one of the numbers that I found Monday night football is the Washington commanders who are one three and one taking on the undefeated San Francisco 49ers who are seven and a half point favorites the over unders 51 and a half so the last three games we've talked about over 50 point over under Mike you have Brock party as your start of the week. Oh man he's he's going to score a lot of points this week. You have now do you do you feel the same way about Pertie if I told you that like Evans was out this week. No really I do. See I don't I don't think he's the magic key to making this all works so far this season. I'm like if Mike Evans is out I'm still playing Brock Pertie but where I don't know if I'm like a start of the weak confidence. I guess you feel good. I feel good about it in the matchup the you know the commanders are literally dead last in fantasy points to quarterbacks and that's all quarterbacks. Obviously it's better with Mike Evans but around the goal line instead of passing the ball to Mike Evans they'll pass the ball to Christian McCaffrey or George and they just always get it done always would you start any wide receiver though of Evans. No no no I wouldn't know. Branding Crisian Kirk is back a practice. Yeah I will say Christian Kirk is a name to monitor. I just picked him up in our league of record J. I see because he was he's a very forgotten man like he was a he was a big addition where you know. Relic. He was an addition. He was an addition he was a mid level addition. I mean he's pretty bad last year. Yeah I was going to say he's kind of tough he's kind of cook. He might be but he will like he will get a ton of snaps for this team who was hurting a wide receiver. He's older Christian Kirk of Brandon Cook's I don't know but I mean I have to assume it's cooks but I don't know for sure. Why don't you tell me. Yeah I think it's like a question you might have the answer to. Christian Kirk is about to turn 30. Brandon Cook's is 33. Yeah there's your options now. But Kittle awesome. Kittle's going to I don't know be the Titan two on the week because Brock Bauer exists. Yeah kind of a down week last week right. Yeah five four 24 no touchdown. Yeah. The injuries are outrageous right now for the commanders. We got reports this morning. Do you want to cross he married is not a practice again. It's Friday. So it seems like he'd be out. But don't worry. Rashad White and Eccler are wearing non-contact jerseys. They're both hurt. Terram McLaren. Where's fat man. Terram McLaren had a rest day. Got up the fat signal. Oh man he's got to put up the fat signal. You talking about the guy they don't even have anyone. Yes. The commanders need him. Seems like Kate Tron Allen would be he should just show up. Be like I guess. So if JCM was out. I'm here. If JCM was out would you play like the 49ers defense their one vulnerability so far 25th against running backs. Would you play Eccler? No. Not because I'm in a non-contactors. Yeah. Who do you play then? If Eccler was healthy I would absolutely play Eccler in this match up. But I but but who else is going to play? It seems like if they were I mean that's all I'm saying. You have an issue that it's Monday night. We know that the 49ers like they do up they do give up more receptions to running backs than like you would expect. It's in terms of what that player is expected to do. So I don't hate it from a like a low level. I feel like I would make that move. Like I'm I'm thinking about that in a league where I have very slim like I'd play him over Mike Washington for sure. Yes. I would play him over Mike Washington. The opportunity is there. It's just is he healthy. What's what's the current health status of her shot white? I mean I know he has. He's also in a non-contact. He has the same time. I think they're trying to keep those guys from getting more hurt before they first activate them. I think those would be your two starter. If those two guys are both active then I'm I'm kind of out. Yeah. So Terra McClaren is on a rest day. It's the fund is practicing. Yes. Oh really? Peace of good news. He's practicing today. Which Stefan which being a you know a Monday night. That's basically yesterday missing the Thursday practice usually is like a bad thing. But having a Wednesday practice off would be fine. That's basically what his is so I mean they need him here with no running game. I would start Jaden Daniels for sure. He's going to be the running game. He had over a hundred rushing yards last week. Hey, you really can't sit even if the matchups bad and the projected point totals bad. You can't sit a guy ran for a hundred yards. Yeah. So that makes sense. And you're going to have to monitor some of these injuries heading into the weekend. We have the injury blitz podcast that comes out this afternoon by our injury expert Matthew Betts. That's part of the footclan and join the foot com. We do have a couple injury updates right now. Safe one, not practicing again on Friday. Seems like he'll be out. Devante Smith and Dante and Wix are practicing. Okay. So you can Tanner McKee your way to a loss. And Lamar Jackson not practicing again on Friday. So that sucks for a flowers and for Lamar. Mar managers. Yeah. So any other thoughts on this game or should we move on to the face on? Oh boy. I'm gonna see face off presented by prize pigs. Lucky me. Back to back boys. I was off to a good start and now on back to my comfortable spot at the bottom. Will of shame. All right, let's spin it. All right. We got some snacks, something Captain noodle. Oh, the pink pony club. Pony club. Oh boy. Look at you. Little beautiful. We didn't get my gloves or nothing. Bro. Yeah. This is good enough. Put your face in a horse head. Well, there is. It's a unicorn chasing. I apologize. Respect. Oh, you look good in that. Oh, yeah, yeah. It's nice. This is not great. Well, it's an upgrade. Oh, that's great. Is that right? Oh, no. It's very bad for sound. Yeah. That was that kind of disturbed me. I don't know what I look like. You look like a pink unicorn. Quarterback. Okay. Are you are you kicking us off? I guess I am. This feels like a weird thing I'm doing. Geno Smith. 221.5 passing yards facing the New England Patriots. Yeah. I'm taking the look. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, come lay me there. My my green goblin is at quarterback. It's Josh Allen more flex than more than 14 and an, I'm sorry, more than 13 and a half rushing yards. So check it. Be. I'll play. It should. We didn't have 120 last. Oh, the unicorn is destroying the microphone. Sir, sir, we don't gobble mics. We don't go mics. Just just to make you a little afraid. Two weeks ago, Josh Allen did not hit more on that, Jay. What about the week before that? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I need oxygen. I'm just saying. I'm not saying it. It's always possible. But it seems like an easy one. We got to get him back in. We got it. We got to support the shock daddies. Tyler's shock 232 and a half passing yards. Okay. We're going more, baby. All right. I like, I like the support. Yes. Tap on the butt. Hey, look, it's the giants. It's the giants. What are you doing, unicorn? I don't know. I even lost. Wait, here they are. Yes. I look through his mouth hole. Here's the one that I thought was hilarious. Okay. It's my green goblin. It's a marine hampton. Oh, okay. It is 11.5 rushing yards. I've taken the more. Let's go, baby. Oh, man. Oh, man, Hampton. Oh, no. Pro Hampton. I love you love to hear it. Oh, I can't wait to see that one. Love to hear it. I am going out running back with Bay. She'll tune more. I looked at his. Yeah. I'm going with his receiving yard. Oh, it's just more than eight and a half more than eight and a half receiving yards. He has been involved in the receiving game. Oh, eight and a half. Yeah. I, you know, I'm going to be honest. My projection when I did the last night was seven and a half. It's gonna. Well, my green goblin is the running back position as well. You may have heard of him. His name is Ken Bone Walker. Oh, a green goblin on Walker. 59 and a half. Yeah. We'll take, we'll take the more. I thought about his regular one, but then it's cool. Oh, yeah. I wanted the green goblin, baby. Uh, Marvin Harrison Jr. Oh, here we, it, you're doing it, huh? I was going to do 20.5 or so. We are. I'm taking the more. I think almost all three of us did it. I pivoted out. I knew Andy would be honest. I knew he would do that. I actually doubled my line up with an additional Marvin Harrison 20.5 because that's that's a good one in on that. That's a great pick. I want to root for it. Um, and I'm, I'm going at wide receiver CDLAM in that, uh, you know, big high scoring game CDLAM more than six receptions. Okay. So, uh, you know, uh, these stay strong quad. Yeah. I mean, obviously that, that's the whole issue. He's looking for a bailout. - No, I'm not looking for a bailout. - Get that price-- - You looking for anybody a little bit hurt. - Yeah.
All right, my my wide receiver Jay. I'm joining you in the Jacksonville Parker Washington 61 and a half receiving yards. We'll go more Is it up to me? Yeah last one Tyler Higby 34.5 receiving yards. I'm taking them all right. I like it. I'm gonna go with Tyler Warren You know disinfect that Mike Tyler Warren five receptions. I'm going more Okay, he's been very involved double teams on Josh down. So expect them to have more and I'm hoping to have some correlation here between the giants and the Saints. I'm going Isaiah likely 52 and a half receiving yards. It makes sense. We'll see if they just end up in a in a throw fest as We would hope because neither team can really run the ball. I can't breathe Don't worry about it. FAQs
The discussion focused on Patrick Mahomes' lack of decision-making and mental approach, with concerns that he wasn't playing competitively. There were specific instances where he threw the ball away in critical situations, showing a lack of trust from his coach and a failure to execute under pressure.
Last week, the Saints' offense struggled, with Kendra Miller getting 10 rushing attempts and CJ Donaldson leading in snaps. The team's offensive production was limited, and the running game was heavily dependent on Miller, who showed promise as a potential touchdown threat.
The hosts advised against starting any Chargers players due to their poor performance and injury issues. They highlighted that the Chiefs' offense is struggling, with key players like Taikwan Thornton injured, and recommended focusing on depth players like Cyrus Allen as a value option.
Jalen Hertz is expected to miss at least one game, possibly weeks or months, due to a serious calf injury and blood thinner use. This has significant implications for fantasy teams, potentially removing a key wide receiver from the lineup for the rest of the season.
Multiple players including Jalen Hertz, Devante Smith, Mike Scupid, and others are injured or under the influence of recovery. These injuries impact team decisions, with players like Devante Smith being downgraded and others potentially unavailable for the remainder of the season.
