Week 6 Mailbag Q&A! Start/Sit, Waivers & Questions Answered! (10/17 Fantasy Football Podcast)
1h 14m 43s
The Fantasy Football Today episode blends entertainment and expert analysis, featuring a dynamic mailbag session where fans submit questions on player trades, lineup strategies, and fantasy league dynamics. A central theme is the debate over trade vetoes, particularly in cases involving collusion—such as husband-and-wife trades—highlighting concerns about fairness, integrity, and league competitiveness. Hosts critically evaluate high-value trades, such as swapping injured players for elite assets, arguing that such moves often lack balance and may indicate manipulation. The discussion extends to real-world league controversies, including a commissioner trading injured players for high-upside ones, prompting accusations of favoritism and power abuse. The hosts emphasize that vetoes should not be used to block trades based on perceived unfairness, especially when no collusion exists, and instead advocate for transparent, competitive environments where fantasy managers can build strategies through depth and smart decisions. The show also includes lighthearted segments on movies, coffee habits, and personal anecdotes, reinforcing the camaraderie among hosts. Ultimately, the episode serves as both a practical guide and a cautionary tale about the importance of integrity, consistency, and fair play in fantasy football.
This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports.
What a play!
Can you believe this?
It's a no-like game.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
Off to the races, and he stays on his feet.
He's just going to go the distance.
Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
It's mailbag time!
Everybody's three favorite words on a Friday.
Or a Saturday.
Mailbag's one word, right?
Yeah, just double-checking.
Welcome to the show, everybody.
Adam, Dan, and Jamie here.
I've been told there's going to be a lot of nonsense on today's show.
Don't blame me, but blame Dan.
Dan's bringing the nonsense.
Well, it's not all originated from me.
I have a story I need to get to from Jamie that we're saving for the mailbag.
It's been on my mind for like 48 hours now.
It really has.
It's that good of a story?
What'd you say?
I don't know.
I'm about to find out.
It's something I think that could only happen in the state that you were born in
and the state that you've fled since.
Yeah, I was born in New York, bud.
Oh, wow.
The state that you grew up in.
The state I grew up in was Florida, yes.
All right, today on the show—
We have a movie question for Dan, too.
Oh, we do have a movie question.
We'll get to that in a second.
I want to hear it, yeah.
All right, so YouTube comments, emails at fantasyfootballatcbsi.com.
The Fantasy Cops are, of course, here today.
Apple podcast question.
You know, we got a bad review on Apple, and here's what happened.
Don't like those.
Someone said, I'm rescinding my five-star review because they didn't answer my question.
That left a five-star review.
They didn't answer it.
I'm not lying to you.
Apple podcast, it just, for whatever reason, the comments—
I know—I have two comments from this week.
I know more than that exist.
They just don't show up consistently.
Sometimes I see comments.
Next time I check, they're not there.
I didn't intentionally skip your question, so—
There's no intentional skipping going on on this show.
Not on Apple.
It's an Apple podcast.
If you leave a five-star review and I see it, and it's like a relevant question, I will read it.
It's just—it's a kind of a finicky app, I guess.
It's just—it's good for listening to shows, but for the comments, it's a little—
I'm not going to go too much further into detail, though, but I will say this.
If you're the type of person that leaves a five-star review, then rescinds it and leaves a one
because you didn't get your question asked on a show where we're answering a lot of questions.
That's—it's something.
It's something.
All right.
Let's get to some YouTube comments to start the show.
And we'll start with this from VomitDuty.
Okay.
Wow.
That's what you did before the show, right, Adam?
Nope.
I was restarting my computer to fix it.
Dude, your eye looks good, Adam.
Eye's healing, huh?
Thank you.
Yeah, it's almost—almost—
Good.
Almost good now.
Starter, one wide receiver, one running back, and one flex.
Braylon Allen, Quinshawn Judkins, Ramondre Stevenson, Luther Burden, Jeremy Bernard, and Denzel Boston.
I think the running back and the flex are easy.
Well, the running back is—
Well, running back's Ramondre, right?
Ramondre, Ramondre, Ramondre.
And Allen is the flex.
And then Allen, for sure, with the workload.
And then I think I would go with Luther Burden, personally.
I would, too.
Okay.
So that would make Quinshawn Judkins the vomit and Jeremy Bernard the duty in this one.
I guess so.
The receivers are tough.
I think just the workload for Ramondre, even with Henderson potentially playing,
and Braylon Allen makes it, to me, easy.
And then pick your favorite receiver.
Dan, how much butter do you have in your coffee?
We went away from the butter in the coffee about a year ago.
But I use the French press.
That's a big French press kind of guy.
But now my new thing is a pinch of Redmond sea salt in each brew of coffee.
And I think it makes a huge difference.
Cuts a lot of the bitterness out.
One of my coffee friend snobs, shout out Brett Childs, really disgusted with me
because I get good coffee.
I buy good coffee.
He's like, why are you buying good coffee and putting salt in it?
I'm like, it's a pinch of salt.
Try it before you're not.
Knock it.
Back in the day, you were convincing us that putting butter in your coffee
was the right thing to do.
It was not bad for you.
It was great.
Yeah, it sped up your metabolism.
It's just fat.
You're not putting any carbs in.
It's actually not that bad for you.
Yeah, but probably it was horrible for me at the same time, and I didn't know.
All right, Uncle Palacios says, I can't get right with RJ Harvey.
Bench him, 10 plus points.
Start him less than one point.
Yeah, that's the Harvey experience, this year at least.
I think generally speaking, you should be benching him, though.
Yeah.
I mean, look.
He's not going to get a touchdown every week.
Yeah, the touchdown was fluky.
Would you trade Chase Brown for Michael Wilson and Marshawn Lloyd?
I have Walker and Tootin, and I need them now.
No way.
No.
Not even considering this one.
Oh, Dan's family is here today.
Dan is everyone's favorite.
Oh, thank you, Truly Epic.
I believe Truly Epic is the one that thought that you would be smarter than.
Is that right?
Yes.
I mean, Adam, let's be honest.
Adam's going to beat me in an IQ test, I think.
I don't think so.
Adam is just that kind of guy.
This is his.
This is his type of test.
We're going to do it next Friday.
I'm going to set up a 10-question IQ test for the two of you.
I find myself to be somewhat quick-witted, no street smarts, and negative street smarts.
And as far as IQ tests, I just don't know.
Adam's the type of guy who got the 1,500 on his SAT.
Oh, I didn't get a 1,500.
You know, he studied all day.
He did all his homework.
He told the people in class, like, Robert over there didn't do his homework.
He was that.
I was not like that at all.
Adam was a rat?
I copied a lot of homework.
I did some things that I regret.
You didn't copy homework ever in your life.
I did.
You did not copy a homework ever in your life.
I know that for a fact.
You'd be a Chad GPT guy?
Yeah, I would.
And that's sad.
Because, yeah, you know, I just didn't like school.
I didn't like learning.
I just, I shortchanged myself.
And I really regret it.
Same.
I really regret it.
I feel like all of that's just the kid's experience.
Like, we all did the same thing.
And then now that we're older and our brains have developed, we're like, oh, I'm going to do this.
I'm going to do this.
And then now that we're older and our brains have developed, we're like, damn, I would have enjoyed learning about that stuff.
That's true, right?
We should Billy Madison it.
Go back to school.
Trade.
I would Billy Madison.
Jalen Coker and Omarion Hampton for DeAndre Swift?
That's an interesting offer.
I think I would do that one.
I think it just depends if you have the receivers to cover yourself.
Because Hampton is, you're getting an upgrade at running back with Swift over Hampton.
But you're losing a pretty good receiver in Coker.
This feels like a breaking point, too, for as far as, like, when you can trade.
You can trade Hampton and what you could get back for him.
I tried trading him the last two weeks.
Its value has only gone down since.
That's what I'm saying.
It's going down and down.
But we're almost at the point of crater.
Like, if you could even get a Swift type back for him, that's good.
We're getting, we're nearing the point of, like, you're getting nothing back for this guy.
If these guys were the Three Stooges, who's who?
I don't know the Three Stooges.
Dan is definitely curly.
Yeah?
I don't know if I like that, but I'm taking it.
He's the goofball.
Dan's 100% curly.
I agree.
Sam, how do you?
You know who the Three Stooges are.
I would be Mo.
Everybody knows the Three Stooges.
Adam would be Larry.
Larry's the leader, right?
No, Mo's the leader.
Mo's the leader?
Oh, damn it.
Damien Pierce or Blake Corham?
I'd be the one that smacks the two of you around, though.
That's the stuff.
That sounds about right.
Blake Corham or Damien Pierce?
I'd go Pierce.
Ugh.
Touch it.
It's going to be a volume game.
I know that Pierce has the volume, so we should be going with him because of that.
I think Corham has a better chance of actually scoring.
I would go Corham.
Dave is definitely Shemp.
I don't really get that.
Like, I know there's a Shemp.
I don't even know who Shemp is.
He's the fourth Stooge.
I thought there were three Stooges.
Yeah.
How could there be a fourth?
It's called the Three Stooges.
That's the youngest guy on the podcast who apparently knows the Three Stooges very well.
Shocked.
Would you trade Kenneth Walker and Devontae Smith for CeeDee Lamb, Bucky Irving, and Carnell Tate?
No.
Only if, like, you'd have to guarantee that Jalen Hurts is going to miss the rest of the season and Devontae Smith is going to struggle with this injury.
That's the only way I would do that.
I guess that's true.
If a toe injury, it's like you're trading an injured guy.
I just, CeeDee and Bucky, it's interesting.
I like Tate.
It's not the worst trade offer.
I just don't feel like if I drafted Kenneth Walker, I'm seeing it out for the rest of the season.
I'm seeing if he can win me.
It's basically like when you look at trades like that with different positions, like Walker and CeeDee Lamb are on.
If they're on par, I would take Walker over Lamb.
And Smith and Bucky Irving are on par.
I would take Smith.
So that's the way I view it.
Yeah.
That's a good way to view it.
And I think Walker's the best by far.
I can't commit to saying I'd take Smith over Bucky, though.
I can't either.
But I'm just saying, like, that's how I view it right now.
True.
Half PPR, Omari and Hampton, Kendri Miller, Tyler Algier.
If nobody is out in their respective backfields, I'll take Hampton still.
But if there's no Jeremiah Love, I'll take Tyler Algier.
I think it's Algier.
If Kamara's out, and he was limited practice, I think, yesterday, I would go Kendri also over Hampton if Kamara's out.
Agreed.
Neighbors for Kyron Williams.
No.
Yes.
I'd rather have Kyron.
Oh, you'd rather have Kyron.
Yeah.
I would definitely rather have neighbors than any kind of PPR.
I love that picture.
You know where that picture is from, Adam?
I love that picture, too.
Yes, I do.
You do know what it's from?
I don't even want to be here anymore.
It's so good.
It's such a funny concept.
Don't take it off.
Don't take it off.
I'm taking it off.
For him to be like, I'm going to do this funny disguise, and it's bad.
It's too much.
If they were the three amigos, who would they be?
I don't know that either.
Yeah, not surprised.
Dan and Martin Short.
No, I think-
I would love to be Martin Short.
I think Dan is Chevy Chase.
He's like the-
I don't know if I love that.
He's really kind of off in his own world.
Oh, yeah.
That's cool.
True.
I think I am Martin Short.
I'm making the ridiculous jokes.
I think it's a male plane, and then I won't say
the punchline and you're steve martin yeah that's a great movie all right and the movie that we want
to know if you've seen and we both said we both have the same answer okay that doesn't give us a
buck but let's see what happens rush hour somehow no i should really should have did you say yes or
no we said no well said no i really should have seen rush hour it's crazy how i haven't seen rush
hour i know i'd like it it's fine that's the that's the one with jackie or it's not that good
like you're overrating it it's not like a timeless classic or what's his who's that who's
chris who are the actors chris tucker it was adam made a mistake earlier this week and put
trey tucker as sean tucker in his notes and oh that he was injured so i made a joke about it
this morning and adam said or dave said chris tucker because dave didn't know the reference
and then adam made a chris tucker joke and then said has dan seen was you said or somebody said
in the chat i thought i don't i didn't say as dancing i think somebody said in the chat i really
should
see it i really and then adam weaseled out of what should have been the bet when i said no first
that you hadn't seen it usually adam answers first and i counter and i just for fun you know
but adam goes no no i don't have to agree with you it's gotta be all right so here's what we
need to find out this is not related but i'm curious now that i've seen rocky that was the
big one i had to see yeah what's the next movie and it's not just adam's pick it's between you
two braveheart i guess i just said it's not just adam's pick it's between what you two decide
the next movie i don't know the entire entire list of things you have not seen that's
just assume i haven't seen anything essentially except for the really good movies in my opinion
um major league i've never seen a superhero guy are you sure i want it i've seen i've actually
saw the marvel all the marvel ones okay star wars i've seen all this the good star wars i haven't
seen like the one through three i saw like a i once watched this like two hour cut up of just
the scenes you need to watch from the from the bad one through three movies i didn't finish the
original trilogy and like the crappy ones with like you know what i'm talking about you definitely
finished the word i mean i didn't finish the word actually i cut it off sam you said the curse word
part of it you gotta be on my team here okay i have to edit it so no i'm not on your team
respect all respect to sam right there but yeah so no star wars because i've basically seen the
good ones what else all right we should get back to fantasy football over here but okay let's get
back to fantasy football it's my favorite movie all right let's go to um rogers or shuck
rogers uh he didn't say the t at the end yeah like that see thank you frank um uh bruce hall
and adni mitchell ruled out yeah i saw that rishi rice or cam scataboo if rice plays
rice for me if he plays winston daniel jones or deshaun watson
winston winston for me too he's the top 12 for me this week
uh odunze dk
boston or abuka sit one oh abuka's the sit
would you beat the waiver wire for omar cooper jr
you can snatch him in an ir spot still so yeah i think adonai mitchell's the better get
than him yeah yes okay all right that's it for uh youtube for now we'll come back to those later
sunday morning youtube.com slash fantasy football today we'll have plenty of your questions there

eastern to get you ready join us at youtube.com slash fantasy football today we'll give you the
news and notes as they unfold and we'll start with our emails now at fantasy football at cbsi.com
and this is from andrew grade the trade george pickens george pickens no george pickens and blake
quorum giving those guys up pickens and quorum for chase brown and coker
i don't mind the trade what'd you say jamie i'd rather have the coker side
so it's pickens and yeah you get coker and chase brown on that side i think i'd rather that side
as well it's obviously like this is the the breaking point with chase brown right you're
going into the bye week you have to decide right now put your foot in the dirt is this going to be
a thing now with samaj ap ryan taking this amount of work that we got last week or is that just a
game and fluky game script if the ladder hits and it's fluky game
script brown to me is still one of the better buys like he was two weeks ago because the
touchdowns are going to run hotter than they have and there will be games where the receptions are
up like we saw two weeks ago so i'm willing to take that bet if all i'm giving up is pickens
who's not going to be the most consistent player either in my opinion all right this is from nick
who's had the better points per game pickens or coker after last week maybe pickens oh coker or
brown i would i mean that's the receivers you're training i would say coker i guess i don't know
because he left early yeah he did uh oh yeah actually i'd say pickens but pickens had a bad
week four but the fact that that tells you why you should be making this trade uh from nick
half ppr redraft league which running back do i trust in week six omari and hampton
marshawn lloyd or tyler algier if jeremiah love does not play i'd still go lloyd
i think i'd go algier algier for me if if love is out lloyd is very tempting though
but not hampton uh this is a trade from angelo davante adams and giovante williams
okay giving up adams and giovante get tootin and christian watson
i'd rather have the adams i'd definitely rather have the adams giovante you know on paper i i
agree with that but heath really opened my eyes about giovante's schedule it is really bad late
in the year what is it how could it be like i i'm curious how this is this may sound ridiculous but
i don't really see any team slowing down the cowboys offense he's not running that well
it doesn't matter he just gets the touchdowns it's the same everything i understand that but like
you know injuries he could oh yeah with the defense being a i don't it's not even like
it's if someone could slow down this dallas offense and if someone could tell me the dallas
defense is going to step up so there'll be different game scripts then like last night's
seattle broncos game for example if we could get those then i'm like all right i'm worried
about jvante here's but until then he's just here it is seattle week
13 a buy-in week 14 yeah rams in week 15 jaguars in week 16 and then a good matchup in week 17
against the giants so just just start with the first game that you you brought up the broncos
just got two rushing touchdowns from their running back i know but they didn't run the ball well i
mean that's not what javante does he doesn't run the ball well he just gets touchdowns on the best
off matchup it's still it's a it's a very bad matchup but it's also a bad matchup on the other
side like you're giving you got to be the it's not a bad idea to sell high on players when you
look at a schedule like that i think it's a bad idea to sell high on players when you look at
i totally understand the concept but you have to be getting an overwhelmingly great offer and i
don't think that's the case well you're getting agreed on that i think you're getting a better
wide receiver in watson over adams i'd rather have watson than adams yeah but you brought this up
i don't remember recently but puka's playing with a pre-hernia situation if puka goes down
who would you rather have oh gosh yeah adams so right but also it's just like you're trading two
of the most consistent touchdown scores over the last 20 something games everyone could say oh it's
luck it's the touchdowns
are going to regress they don't regress adams can't be guarded one-on-one with his release
package off the line of scrimmage in the red zone he scores all the time and javante williams scores
he's on the best offense he just scores there's no one else taking those red zone touches he scores
all the time as well all right so i just feel like these guys are the ones scoring points the other
guys are projected points i hear you mo i hear you all right we're gonna take a break here we'll be

emails at fantasy football at cbsi.com that is the letter i stefan is in a redraft league and
he has bowers and craft but he can't get much for craft should i trade tucker craft for omari and
hampton or try to trade bowers for a hall keep bowers i would not trade bowers um i don't think
i mean i don't like hampton i probably i don't like him
then i don't like craft that much either though i like craft i like craft better than hampton but
it's not such a bad trade if you have bowers i would wait till after this week and see if craft
goes off that's true i would trade i would be fine trading craft for hampton right now now to i agree
with dan i'd much rather keep brock bowers if you can but like if the hall is a hall then you explore
the hall would have to include a top tier player from running back or wide receiver
yeah here's a question from eric
eric says you definitely have to get the nose hair trimmers that you stick up your nose
way better than the
scissors with the curve okay okay all right it's a no that's a conversation from last week this is
from i remember wesley started the seahawks defense and emmanuel wilson they got me eight points
should i start jayden daniels or tyler shuck does my deficit impact who i start no you should not
start one over the other unless you have extreme conviction and i think in the case they're both
close for me um i don't know i would go with daniels i would go with jayden for sure this is
from michael if you had to trade nico collins parker washington or george pickens for a running
back which one are you moving and uh which one what are you moving on from based on what you
think the rest of the season is gonna be okay who's the best one nico i'd say nico are you
getting the same running back in return so like it doesn't
matter what what the compensation is yeah i think so maybe no i don't i mean i don't think so that's
the case if it's just moving on for that you're you're getting james cook yes in the trade no
matter what it's george pickens pickens all right no concerns about nico with marvin harrison and
tank dell not with the players coming back my nico concern is always just limited to him and
the injuries that he's played through in his career but that's not something i can project
or predict this is from patrick rank them for week six denzel boss
boston damian pierce kendray miller jacory kroski merit
uh boston miller if there's no camara
bill next for me at least i go pierce bill miller if everybody's healthy i don't feel good about
this pierce start at all he may get like 12 carries but i don't think they're going for
and much he's not gonna get receiving work about a jacory kroski merit start these are i feel about
better about anything than tanner
mckee and a bad beat up offensive line and a running back who doesn't do anything in the
passing game that to me is just like a dead start and that's kind of yeah i know you could you could
argue that for some of the other ones but it's like a true dead start unless he gets a rushing
touchdown that's jacory kroski merit though i mean he doesn't get that many no but jacory
kroski merit broke a 35 yard touchdown run damian pierce is not doing that one of the worst run
defenses in football the niners have a really good run defense i'm not saying he'll do it again
but at least he has to at least he has the skill set to do it yeah
i mean that is that is definitely true i can't really fight you on that jacory kroski merit
unfortunately he has three games with seven or fewer fantasy points in pp yeah it's they're
they're pretty much all awful plays except boston but you're just looking for the least awful
this is from jake ppr four point per passing touchdown all right we'll go real quick on this
rogers or stroud i go stroud it's close for me but i'd go stroud tampas defense is playing
better than they have in a while jacoby brissett or jayden daniels jayden by far kendrick bourne or
lad mcconkey a lot of people just based on upside from tyler should i trade parker washington
cam scataboo and tony pollard okay parker washington scataboo and pollard for amon ross
st brown in a 10 team half ppr league yes it's not as cut and dry for me that really depends on where
you're at but it's not as cut and dry for me it's not as cut and dry for me it's not as cut and dry
i think with um at running back specifically like if you can afford to do this mcafree and remandre
okay 10 team league you want stars and that's a star but if it's oh he said 10 team i mean he's
got parker watch you are giving up what i that's the only reason i'm considering because i believe
parker is a star too but he's not really a mon ross and brown level star so i'm okay with it
who do you think scored more fantasy points so far it might be parker total yeah it might be
they both had at least one bad game it is it might not be them yeah the the
thursday night st brown game just put him over the top he had like 37 or whatever all right from
charlie i got offered trey mcbride and tetero mcmillan for puka nakua so give up puka get
mcbride and tet interesting 10 team league and he has bad tight ends that's interesting it's a
relatively fair deal it's pbr it's less interesting to me because puka is just getting spam targets
and i am a little worried i don't know if you guys are i am a little worried about last week where
without marvin harris
and i know everyone's gonna laugh at it like what has he done it means nothing he's still
lining up on the outside drawing attention without marvin harrison they just double team
trey mcbride all game after the game jacoby brissett talked about it he's like yeah mcbride
was pissed he's like get me the boys i'm not gonna get you the ball like they're looking at
the screen the tablet on silent like your dog and so i am a little bit worried teams are just
going to use that strategy against the cardinals because they really didn't move the ball at all
through the air after they took away trey mcbride there was like michael wilson great player but he
wasn't defining that passing game last week but maybe no they just sat on everything and it was
yeah you know the shell coverage works um i probably still keep puka i think i might keep
puka based on that all right it's also you're you're you're buying ted off a monstrous game
that coker didn't play it's true that's awesome sure from shane for my second running back should
i go with jaleel mclaughlin or brian robinson jr mclaughlin i think uh mclaughlin and dacre shuck
dac dac lance from phoenix unless his name is lance phoenix which would be a very cool name
this is very what very cool name oh that would be pretty cool yeah i know we got a new quarterback
in philly we do we have it's not mckee joe milton joe milton joe milton is no they signed him you
signed him yeah he's not starting somebody jamie loves to give a fake headline it's a fake headline
that was such a fake headline such a veteran in the game yeah that's fake he got us all worked out
i was like oh they're not going to be able to do that they're not going to be able to do that
starting mckee how is that how is that a fake headline you made it seem like we're getting
i said they have a new quarterback i know you didn't say it technically but adam and i adam
and i went there immediately as probably did after the audience at least cousins or winston
from lance phoenix winston for me uh cousins for me cousins for me by the way dan i made giant
saints the game of the week no i did because you're joking dave dave i have a new strategy for
packers uh packers cowboys so i was like what's the second best game this horror is a horrible week
it's a bad week but it can't be giant saints could it well because he also then he he panic
pivoted and instead of just using an afc game which he could have he used some he just looked
at his notes and went straight i think texans jaguars would have been that but i so i didn't
i think what you got to do is because he's on to you clearly um is right out of the gate because
he doesn't he's not gonna expect it like the first or second question yeah i could also do it on on
tuesday or wednesday
you know i gotta i gotta really make him guess all right uh from from alan he says dear jordan
aaron and brett these are all packers quarterbacks obviously yes they are i need two receivers and a
flex and half ppr malik neighbors rishi rice michael wilson matthew golden and luther burden
so he needs four of these three of them three so neighbors neighbors
crazy
neighbors golden or easy so then it's rishi rice michael wilson luther burden
i think it's right to be plays and bird and wilson to be stuck i'm burdened no matter what in that
wow okay yeah i think it's going to be a nice week for him with caleb back in atlanta in the dome
see if i'm right or wrong jamie kyle wants to know how you value the two for one trades
when you're getting the elite player and um i get okay he's two and three with two running backs and
three flexes in his league you start three flexes okay he has jsn and bowers so i keep getting offers
of two good players for one of my studs how do you factor in lineup spots when one side gets two
starters at two and three should i be more willing to break up my studs for depth or does that just
lower my ceiling what's your rule of thumb jamie when you're giving up an elite player i mean
obviously you have to get two studs back in return for elite player you know so like we've we've had
a couple already i think that were fair so like the puka for mcbride terrell mcmillan in a situation
where you need to fill out starting lineups that type of deal makes sense so i don't want to you
know be giving away a star for something that's just going to fill out spots i want to be giving
away a star for two players that are going to be upper echelon and and hopefully equate to the one
star so it's all case by case and in this situation where you have a lot of you know flex spots to
fill you don't want to be running out damian pierce type players every week just because you have jsn
players and hopefully those guys carry you so it's either try and get lucky with waiver wire
options or try and turn one of those players into you know try to turn top three player into two top
15 players yeah and like last year i traded christian mccaffrey for nico collins and kyron
williams i always kind of reference that a lot in these situations it did not end up being a good
trade for me um but that's the right type of trade on paper it was good you know that's the one that
could go either way i thought mccaffrey would slow down that's the other thing is like you know maybe
keep it up i thought mccaffrey would slow down a bit he didn't i think the hours like what bowers
is doing is basically unprecedented i i can't imagine he's going to be this good going forward
he just simply if he's healthy he will be uh i think he will he won't be because he's not going
to be this but he's going to have the potential to be this why not adam well because how many we
said that about jsn he's averaging 24.4 fantasy points per game he is that would blow away
obviously i'm not saying he's going to have 24 saying though i'm saying okay but as long as the
he'll be the number one tight end he'll be a first round value but he's not going to be the
best player in fantasy right now he's arguably the best player in fantasy well let's revisit
a debate we had two weeks ago
Are you now willing to accept that I was probably right
on Bowers over McBride?
Okay, thank you.
Now let's take an IQ test, hot shot.
For Maggie.
I think the, I don't know this to be sure,
but like the teams that might be,
a team that might be in great shape
is the team that went Gibbs, Bowers, or Bijan, Bowers.
Like that start with Bowers at the end of round two
is just ridiculous.
Yeah, because I don't know what else
at the end of round two is outshining.
Walker in some cases made it there.
Walker if he fell, which he never really did.
London was there.
Oh, true.
Sometimes he fell all the way down there.
Oh man, Walker.
I think I have a Jamar Chase-Ken Walker league.
Yeah.
I took Chase third, or maybe second.
I think I took Chase second.
I took Ken Walker in the first round.
All right, this is from Maggie.
It looks like Caleb Williams will play.
Should I play Caleb or Trevor Lawrence?
And should I play Colson Loveland or Pat Fryermuth?
Ooh.
I split up the bears there.
You'd go, which ones?
Caleb and Fryermuth.
Yeah, you can't just say it's split up the bears.
Good point.
I would also do that as well.
I think Fryermuth has a nice matchup specifically.
And I just think I'd rather Caleb in a dome game
against Atlanta's defense that showed cracks last week
versus Lawrence in that matchup.
Okay, you guys ready for the Fantasy Cops?
Why do you have Dan first?
I've got like five Fantasy Cops.
Listen, I'm just going to be 100% honest with you.
I'm going to turn the music off.
Not the best Fantasy Cops this week.
They're not always going to be great.
Yeah, it's not anyone's fault.
We're not forcing it.
We're not rushing.
When they come, they come.
It's going to be tough to top that Uncle Jim story
or whatever his name is.
Do we ever get a follow-up?
Never got a follow-up.
I think Uncle Jim probably got wind of it.
What if, what if, what if we got catfished
and Uncle Jim actually sent us the email?
That's great.
I don't care.
It was great content.
All right, here we go.
I'm going to out myself.
That was a good job, Uncle Jim.
This is from Sam from Southwest Suburbs of Chicago.
In the pre-draft, okay, I am the commissioner.
I made it clear before the draft
that Josh Jacobs cannot be on IR.
Okay.
The majority agreed and didn't raise questions.
Now a league member is making a ruckus
about Tyreek Hill being on IR.
His reasoning is that Hill isn't on a team,
and thus,
he can't be on IR.
What are your thoughts?
And my interpretation of this is that
the commissioner has allowed,
has made it so that
Josh Jacobs cannot be on IR,
but Tyreek Hill can be on IR.
That's bad.
Yeah.
Nope.
That doesn't make any sense to me.
I think it's 100% no.
The only wiggle room you could have gotten away with,
and I don't think you should have,
is that Tyreek Hill was injured.
I mean, I guess you could say something like
the Tyreek,
the Josh Jacobs thing is only because he's on,
the,
well, no, I can't,
I can't even make, like.
He's not on an IR spot.
So, like, this was the detriment that you face
with picking up Tyreek Hill.
This was the detriment that you face
with carrying Josh Jacobs,
is that you should not be allowed to stash them
to benefit because of what their situation is.
You're hoping from a playing production standpoint
that you're going to benefit,
but given what these guys are going through,
whether it's not being signed
or being on the commissioner exemplist,
you should not benefit as a fantasy manager
by allowed to stash them in an IR spot
that should be,
that should be designated for players on IR
or the publicist.
Okay.
So, to be clear,
Tyreek Hill should not be able to be on an IR spot.
Yeah.
All right.
I have a,
I have a self fantasy cops to get to, too.
Oh, at the end?
Yeah, as a commissioner.
I didn't do anything wrong.
Okay.
Oh, you also have a great story
at the end of the year, too.
All right.
This is from Joe from Atlanta.
Joe says,
I have a dramatic fantasy cops for you.
A trade went down in my league.
The commissioner,
who is eighth place at two and three,
traded with a last place team
at one and four.
The commissioner traded David Montgomery,
Blake Corum,
and Alvin Camara.
Montgomery, Corum, and Camara.
Junk, junk, and junk.
He got Saquon Barkley and Zach Charbonnet.
The commissioner made a post saying,
if anyone wanted a veto, feel free.
Most responded indifferently
with the exception of one person
who confronted the commissioner,
asking him if he really thought
this was a fair trade.
And he used some particular terminology
to express his disdain of the trade.
The commissioner showed that
Charbonnet is hurt and hasn't played.
Saquon is hurt,
and he's already 50 on the season.
And the three players that he traded away,
Montgomery, Corum, and Camara,
they're RBs 28, 34, and 36.
The last place team stated
that he was done with Saquon
and said he didn't see how the trade
helped the commissioner at all.
The dissenting player then proceeded
to drop all of his players in protest.
What?
He dropped all the players in protest.
The guy, the one guy
who was upset with the trade.
Okay.
Then the commissioner kicked that guy
out of the league
and the group chat.
He put all the players back on the team
and let a new manager take over the team
for free with no league fee.
First of all, is the trade fair?
Secondly, grade the reactions.
Okay.
We should rename the league
the Real Housewives of Fantasy Football
for the amount of dumb drama.
I have a strong take on this.
Not only is. Is the trade fine?
That's. You can't play judge and juror of trades.
I talked about some,
maybe with you off-pod, Adam,
but last year,
there's a Corey Kroski merit for. I think you've done it.
I think you've done it on the air, too,
quite a bit.
Not this specific example.
Okay.
Where last year,
somebody traded Bill for Pickens
and the league went off.
The chat was going nuts.
How can this?
This is not fair.
And then Bill was the one who won the league.
It's like Barkley has been injured
and he is injured
and the Eagles online stinks
and now they're going to Tanner McKee.
He's not that amazing of an asset.
This is a terrible trade.
Obviously.
But you can't just say
a bad trade needs to be vetoed.
This is the whole point of this thing.
Okay, but it's a bad trade.
I'm not going to veto it,
but it's a bad trade.
You can't veto this.
I'm not vetoing it.
No one's vetoing it.
But it's not even that.
You can't veto trades.
You have to just find a more. If you want your league to be competitive,
then find competitive players
to play in your league.
You're not vetoing it.
We're not vetoing it.
But also,
aside from that,
the guy who dropped
this whole team in protest,
that guy is the worst.
Yeah.
Okay?
That's all I'm going to say about that.
I'm glad he was kicked out of the league.
I'm glad they found a replacement.
I hope he's kicked out of the group chat.
I hope this baby doesn't get to go
to any events moving forward
with the group of friends.
You have to really consider
your friendship with this guy
at this point.
It's such a big baby move.
It's hard to even explain.
So 10 out of 10 for his baby rant,
or his giant rant,
because it's just epic.
And then 10 out of 10
for them kicking him out of everything.
Yeah.
All right.
All right.
This one is from Brock.
He says,
Good morning,
Walker, Hurts, Mahomes, and Mahomes.
Oh.
Um, what?
The last four Super Bowl MVPs.
Oh.
I have a 12-team PPR league
with friends and their wives.
I don't think vetoes should be a thing
unless collusion is involved.
Agreed.
I traded away
Jamison Williams,
Omarion Hampton,
Josh Downs,
and Kenneth Gainwell.
This is going to be. No, it's not that bad.
For George Pickens and Jeremiah Love.
J-Mo, Hampton, Downs, and Gainwell
for Pickens and Love.
Perfectly fine.
It got vetoed by five votes.
However, I knew that two dads
did not like it,
and they had their wives veto as well.
So it would have only gotten three votes.
I am the commissioner,
and I pushed it through.
Was that the right thing to do?
Ooh, wow.
Yeah, this is a great example
of why vetoing is stupid.
Hold on.
This is like the perfect example.
Hold on, hold on.
So it got the. I guess it needed five votes
for veto, whatever.
It got the five votes,
but he thought two of them
were fraudulent because
the two husbands
convinced their wives.
So he pushed the trade through.
I did ask some buddies
that had been playing for years,
and they said it was a fine trade.
And then once I did this,
a husband and wife combo
got a trade accepted
and wanted me to push it through.
It was Kenneth Walker
and Puka Nakua
for James Cook,
Stefan Diggs,
and Ali Gordon.
I'm afraid if I don't push it through,
all hell will break loose.
Please help our league
come to a consensus.
Yeah.
Well, is it. There's so much to this.
So first of all,
the second trade,
the really bad trade,
was that a husband
and a wife trading together?
Yeah.
So that's collusion.
Well, that's necessarily. Like, that's just blatant collusion.
What do you mean,
not necessarily?
They could be capable
of making their own decisions.
They don't necessarily collude here.
But they're two of the ones
that vetoed it, right?
He didn't say that.
Most likely.
We don't know.
He didn't say that specifically.
I mean, you needed to set. It's on you as a commissioner.
You should have set the rule
there are no vetoes in this league.
No, no, I mean, that's. You can't change the rule.
The rules are. He violated the rules.
So what's the rule?
The rule is that
the league can vote on it
if there's enough votes
it doesn't go through?
Yes, and that's what their rules are.
Okay, well, then he's wrong.
Then the commissioner's wrong.
Okay, so again, Dan,
you do this all the time.
Take your soapbox,
put it on the side.
Yeah.
I just said the commissioner's wrong.
Yeah, he's saying. I put it on the side.
The commissioner's wrong.
If that's his dumb rule,
then that's his dumb rule
and he has to go by the dumb rule.
But the second part of this
is the more troubling part.
There's literal collusion
in the league.
That's not. I mean, look,
it might be,
and the trade again
was Puka and Kenneth Walker.
Oh, it might be.
Of course that's collusion.
That's collusion, dude.
How do you know that's collusion?
It's two studs
for a stud and two junk.
It's an obvious collusion trade.
Okay, first of all,
to call Stefan Diggs
and Ollie Gordon junk
is not fair.
Essential junk compared to Puka.
Compared to Puka and Walker, sure.
But you're getting James Cook,
who's right on par with Walker.
No, he's not right on par with Walker.
Go look it up.
You're so full of crap.
You are the one who said,
you can't. This guy. You won't. You weren't going to veto
a Jacory Krosky merit
for George Pickens,
but this one you think
is so bad
that it has to be collusion?
Because there's
actual stars involved in it dude but i don't think it's i don't think you should veto it by the way
i never said you should veto it so don't call me a hypocrite i just said it's collusion and that's
different you don't know that it's collusion but yes it should be if there is collusion it should
be vetoed and the league is basically you have got three starters on one team two stars look it's a
bad trade but i wouldn't veto it adam i don't think i've ever seen your shoulder so high it's a bad
trade but i wouldn't you can it's not only is it a bad trade that's not why you should veto you
should veto it because it's a husband and a wife making a trade so you're telling me that husband
and wife are in the same fantasy league they're never allowed to make a trade you can't basically
yeah you can't make this trade it's basically yeah unless it unless it basically yes no that
is ridiculous so what if two best friends were in a dude they're sharing an account like all the
money goes to the same place you're a bed all the money it's literally like who cares who wins if
one of us wins we both win you know exactly and then one of them just traded two of the best
players in fantasy football for a guy who's up there with them but not even at their level and
then ollie gordon and and somebody like it's diggs and diggs who's hurt and not even that good
ollie gordon is a star adam adam i know but it's not with jamie would you veto this trade yes if
there are vetoes allowed yes you would not you're one thousand percent oh come on if a husband and
wife it's a bad okay no husband and wife what if it weren't that's totally okay that's a separate
question would you veto the trade if it weren't a husband and wife just two people in the league
i yes if there's vetoes in a league
where they allow vetoes then you have to what are you guys crazy in a league i don't play in
these kind of leagues but if there are leagues where you have vetoes you this is just like a
horrific trade excuse me all right isn't puka nakua playing with a pre-hernia right now oh give me a
break everyone could get hurt at any time isn't kenneth walker one of the most injury prone
players oh give me a break anyone get hurt at any time james cook could trip the wrong way and tears
acl like knock on wood i hope that doesn't happen but like we can't be predicting injuries tell me
which of those players he's equal to
it's a bad trade but it's not vetoable yeah it is you guys said it's not vetoable if your league
doesn't have vetoes which i completely agree with but if you're in this kind of league where the
settings have been set exactly where there are vetoes you can only veto for collusion and if i
told you that this was not collusion then you don't veto it i would question if it's collusion
if this trade is happening yeah this is i don't know how you can prove this is collusion but
all i know is it's a husband and wife making a trade and it's a god-awful trade all right we
gotta take a break you guys are i feel like you guys are saying things that you're not saying
that you wouldn't ordinarily say i feel like this is inconsistent with you're wrong no i don't think
i am i'd like to know what the chat thinks the chat is not on your side they haven't said a damn
thing about it uh yes they have god has said they're on our side entirely here's a couple
things here come on adam from nick's fanatic uh we've got i rarely agree with dan but we here we
are and he's right adam is now mad with dan that's not uh adam is right
no no no no there's one adam is right and now it's just because you you you did god this is like you
you led the question all right we'll be right back on fantasy football today
first of all the most inaccurate thing that you may have ever said is that this is a bad
fantasy cops i might have been one of the best ever yeah that turned out pretty good
for the record i do think the husband and wife aspect does make it a little fishy
oh yeah look who's backing down here no i i stand by the fact that if it were
a husband and wife i would never in a million years veto it and i don't think you guys would
either that's what i'm saying if there were vetoes allowed i'd veto it you can't veto for that you
can't feel you can't bad trade you cannot veto because it's a bad trade you veto because it's
a husband and a wife making a trade sure fine but you can't be like i said if it's not a husband
and wife you cannot veto because in a league where they allow vetoes you can that's the whole thing
so what so what what is the whole point of your jacori kroski merit george pickens story
my whole point is that veto shouldn't be a thing for that reason
i'm not saying i would veto this trade my you know my take i don't have to reiterate it i would
not veto this trade i do not believe in vetoes i would kick the person out who made the trade
yes dude i want a competitive league i don't want a league where someone is trading
that making that trade personally i think you're i mean look i i think i think you're
going a little it depends what you want or you could have a for fun league and then these trades
can just fly and that's fine and that's all good too it just depends what you want i'm just saying
i would want i wouldn't want somebody trading puka and and whatever for ollie gordon and diggs
and james cook truly epic here and he says adam is clearly right and also smarter by the way thank
you he is definitely a smarter by an iq test i would i mean we don't know that for sure but i
feel like it's the case okay i have to apologize to the other fantasy copsters uh we're gonna have
to move on no no way i mean fine we could do them quickly ready this is from brandon i'm gonna leave
it it's been around for almost 20 years last week one manager forgot to take out keenan allen before
the london game he texted the group at 9 31 a.m to see if he could swap out allen for someone else
and we allowed it the next week week five a different owner didn't take out jordan addison
in time and he waited until monday at noon to plead his case to replace him with someone on
his bench he only had one option he could have put in so it's not like he was trying to pick
his best bench option should we allow both moves one of them or neither of them alan yes addison no
this one hits hits close to home because last last year in the playoff league against uh our
friend adam i had the same issue with the 12 remember the 12 57 someone was like scratch at
the last second and i tried to change my lineup but cbs had already locked it you don't remember
this we talked about some fantasy cops and then we changed it for you no no i was not allowed to
change it this was not your league this was uh it was it was the other cb i told him to change it
for you i know he wouldn't do it he wouldn't budge respect who was the commissioner uh oddy collie oh
was oddy
oh i thought it was adam no he wasn't commish was he playing you he was playing me he wouldn't
allow it 12 57 roma dunzey was scratched late in warm-ups and then i went to immediately change
it at 12 58 posted on the message board that's great i cannot believe it took a zero in the
playoff match that's insane the game hadn't even started yet well anyway the commissioner ruled
that only way i'll make the change is if both managers agree to it and i you know what i
respect that i mean the the other side of it it's like the i forgot the case he made but it made
it it had some validity to it come on adam london that's not good enough all right last one
with some jonathan dear sweetness the refrigerator the galloping ghost and iron mike
the bears legends yeah there we go i need you to review a major commissioner power trip and
double standard in my league love it super flex league earlier this season our commissioner jake
instituted a brand new mid-season rule requiring league votes on trades and he falsely accused me
of colluding with the commissioner and i'm not going to lie to you about that i'm not going to
when i tried to trade for justin jefferson claiming that trades shouldn't be used to
build quote super teams okay just stop right there that is pathetic jake like trades absolutely
should be used to build super teams but fair enough we'll keep going under that heavy scrutiny
my trade was blocked and vetoed now the commissioner has just turned around and executed
a trade with the exact same team to acquire that very same player justin jefferson for himself
and it went right through without an issue so i don't even have to read the rest of this but
am i right to call out this massive conflict of interest or is this just fair game
it's obviously a conflict of interest this one's pretty cut and dry here right
i don't know what the trades were i wish he had included the details like was
our was jonathan our emailer like so much more agree agree just what you say
was there a husband and wife involved
but look man like that's the thing like that's the thing like that's the thing like that's the thing
like you you guys agree that trades that you it's fine to make a super team with trades right
what do you mean yeah of course he he basically was saying this guy can't acquire justin jefferson
because it'll give him a super team that's crazy no that's the whole intent it goes back to the
two-for-one trades like if you are in a situation where you have a lot of depth and you're trying
to acquire somebody you're you're clearly making a two-for-one trade to get a superstar
you're allowed to do that this i hope everyone i hope everyone at home is feeling what i'm feeling
right now i hope everyone at home is feeling what i'm feeling right now i hope everyone at home is
feeling what i'm feeling right now this is so the exact opposite of what you guys were just
arguing with the other trade what is wrong with you two today no the other trade is is crap for
two superstars yeah it's not crap it's james cook stefan diggs and james cook and crap they're not
crap listen compared to the player yes they are here's what i want you to do here's what i want
you to do i want you to go when this is over go watch twins and go listen to what danny devito
says about himself danny devito stefan diggs and ollie gordon look we think about it and we think
that's the case but no we know that's the case no we don't dude ollie gordon has been good two
weeks the shoulders are up i know whenever the shoulders are up you're you're so wrong because
like are you why are you just completely ignoring what ollie gordon has done now look the fantasy
analyst in us doesn't buy it doesn't believe it but ollie gordon had 100 yards and a touchdown
on nine carries against the vikings and followed it up with a great game against the bangles why
are we just completely discounting that because he's not puking the cool or ken walker he doesn't
i know that it's oh but you don't veto that you just answered your own question i know that thank
you no you don't yes veto that adam you don't realize that i agree to some extent with you
my veto is based on the husband and wife aspect of it fine no you also and the timing like they
were pissed off at that commissioner went through no like if you have if a league has vetoes it
should never be used because you think a trade is unfair and giving a team a then why should it then
what's the point of having vetoes collusion collusion collusion collusion collusion collusion
if it's collusion the league is compromised immediately it's not like you can just veto
it and move on i don't play in any leagues with vetoes i agree with you they're dumb but i think
you guys are are really just not being consistent with your arguments when you say that no no no
we're being very consistent with our arguments i don't know yeah we're literally saying if your
league is allowing vetoes by the way i got a text from my buddy tom ferraro who uh loves
basial tootin um he's he i didn't know he watches our show he said 100 collusion okay if because
the husband of wife what i'm saying is if you took the husband if it was just two random people in
the league i would never veto that trade i would say it's a terrible trade i would never veto it
again we're not we're agreeing with you as long as it's not a league where it allows for vetoes
if it allows for vetoes you're essentially allowing the league to decide on every single
trade can i ask you a philosophical question because you're saying a league that allows for
vetoes how the hell could i veto a trade in a league that doesn't allow vetoes obviously that's
not what i'm saying by the way stefan digs caught three touchdowns in his first two games
like he's not
you
oh my god then he faced seattle and then he faced indianapolis with his okay adam go look at the
team where you have puka and offer puka for ollie gordon to them your best player and you'd have to
accept again i don't like the trade i would never make that trade it's not even close to being a
vetoable trade it's not even close to being one of those this shifts the balance of the league so
well i guess it's kind of close to that i cannot wait for you to get off the air with this show
and go to your wife and say can you just rub my shoulders please they hurt so much
this the entire
show actually my back is hurting me a little bit i think from all of this all right let's go to our
apple podcast questions here no we got more fancy cops don't shortchange it no we don't that was it
oh you want more for you oh you want mine um so this is a this is a tricky one um so uh i have
three father-son leagues with my three boys uh my youngest one is eight and uh i'd say about
probably 60 40 of the the league is eight and i'm not sure if it's eight or nine but i'm sure it's
the parents are doing a lot of the the waiver wire moves um probably maybe 70 30 the the the parents
are doing there's one kid who's uh who's 10 um who's uh his name is jack sobel one of the smartest
football uh minds you'll ever come across at his age um he dropped saquon barkley earlier in the
week oh i didn't notice until i was doing waiver moves waivers run on uh wednesday night right so
it's and i didn't look at it until and i'm the
commissioner so i didn't look at it until um it was like 11 o'clock i knew his dad would be awake
i texted dad i said hey um i know you're probably not paying attention but he dropped barkley i said
what do you what do you want what should which what what would you like me to do here he was
like listen he runs the team himself you know it is what it is and i was like oh man i feel so
terrible because i should have put it you know it's league for fun um but then i'm thinking i'm
like as i'm thinking it through there are people that put in claims
for barkley right and they're gonna be screwed if i had seen it earlier in the day i would have
just sent a message to the league yeah and so i said to him like i i gotta let it go i'm sorry
i felt awful no you did the right thing yeah you did the right thing i don't think you should feel
awful because the dad said like you know this is his team and he's running it the way he wants to
run it and also like it might be like a lesson for him too if barkley gets hot the end of this
year like you know don't move on from these players too early type of thing but also i don't
know if he his team and if you looked at his team like he's like he's like he's like he's like he's
does he need did he need the rosters like a healthy guy to play i didn't i didn't go like
yeah you know do extensive research on it i was just as i was like i saw it yeah i was like oh
man like if this was like a competitive league okay you made a mistake whatever you know
competitive being like you know adults doing it whatever the kid might have made a mistake for
all i know but his dad goes his dad said which is right he goes he knows what he's doing he
probably did it for a reason and look he may end up being a thousand percent right like that one
trade we we reviewed i'm in a league where did you tell your son to spend his whole way for
i'll tell you what i what i what i did and this would have constituted collusion but i i would
have done it just to make the the kid feel better about maybe making a mistake i said hey i'll put
in a claim for him if i get him i'll just we'll make a trade okay that's nice so and i and i even
said collusion be damned yeah i mean saquon barkley you know he's i won't even count the
two games he left with injuries but the other two games he scored nine points in ppr yeah you can't
you know he hasn't scored a touchdown uh they got some serious concerns like i i i don't know how
i'm gonna leave with adults here and it's a casual league and i went to office league they dropped
this week they dropped davante smith before the jaylen davante smith and lad mcconkey were both
dropped what yeah i that was shocking to me what league is that it's just an office league i plan
but most people don't even know if i left the company at this point okay yeah um all right now
uh did anything else or should we move on no we can move on all right apple podcast questions i'm sure
there have been more comments but i only see two of them grade the trade from chas i still need to
get the story from jamie on wednesday wednesday we'll get that okay grade the trade i received
in a half ppr league i received omari and hampton denzel boston and isaiah likely okay hampton
boston and likely i gave up chase brown and colston loveland i don't think it's that bad see i mean
if you if likely keeps it up it's
not that bad if likely falls off at any point yeah it gets real bad okay next up is from unless
p ryan is like a real thing now and then then it's fine this is from last week but i'll read it
anyway i have patrick mahomes and josh allen okay i trade one of them for a running back or a wide
receiver i have miko zay zay flowers uh coleman and marvin harrison so he could use a wide receiver
i have bijan ramondre braylon allen and yeah marks i mean yeah you got to package it and
that's the only way it works adam and i was talking about certainly this week and in one
qb leagues it's nearly impossible to trade a quarterback nobody's so i i didn't so i i didn't
for the sake of time when dave said uh by low on dak prescott i went i was looking at the most
traded players i think it's like 50 players before you get to the first quarterback right
yeah it's impossible trade quarterbacks i know it's impossible you could trade josh allen though
if you that i was just gonna say the next thing is if you want to trade a quarterback you have
to then go to trading josh allen
but you're never getting fair value in return you're not gonna get fair value but you're at
least gonna solve your conundrum of having allen in my homes every week yeah but i okay so i have
the league that i try to trade with dan i have lamar jackson bryce young and last week i had
to pick up jordan love and i think jordan love is gonna be my guy this week and then he gets uh
someone really easy gets detroit next week right and i don't want to roster three quarterbacks but
god i can't drop bryce young you know and somehow you can you basically have to
give that player away for agreed you know for a part-time rental so like he has braylon allen so
that just name just stuck stuck out to me like if you find somebody that picked up braylon allen
that does not need braylon allen but their quarterback situation sucks like that's the
type of trade you're making get it and the bigger problem is replacement the problem with this is
this is the conundrum too for the one qb leagues is like you offer me that trade adam and it wasn't
bad from a value standpoint obviously but then i looked at it and i was like all right whatever
like i have a crappy quarterback let me look at the wire jamis winston sitting right there and i
pick him up and he's like a top 12 play for me this week so i'm like why the heck would i ever
trade for bryce or whatever it was like when i could just put jamison uh yeah i don't remember
what i offered you whatever it was it was like fine value wise but it just doesn't make sense
when jamis is available sure okay and let's get to some spotify questions in a minute here
or no right now okay it's from spotify that's not it it's from spotify here we go
here we go uh what do you think of this trade give up garrett wilson and omari and hampton
okay bryce hall and davante adams
i like the hall side better i it's close for me i don't really love trading for
hall right now but i think i like adams enough that i'm probably willing to take that bet
because hampton's value is so bad if hall is healthy the schedule is going to be great
and yeah i mean we've we've seen already got off to a good start alan had a great game like
i could get a little i can i can see there's a potential concern of alan taking away a little
work from bryce hall but a lot of work there's still a lot to love about his situation what
if he takes away all the red zone work all right uh this is from uh i don't know who from garrett
will uh garrett wilson and parker washington it's not from garrett wilson garrett wilson and
parker washington okay for nico collins kyle menongai and denzel boston i need running back
depth i don't think i do that oh that's bad you're giving up too much this is from mason
okay my wife is struggling at running back she has hampton travis a chan price montgomery pollard
camara she has jsn and lamar should she shop them around to see if she can fill out her team or just
hold her best players and hope for the best 10 team ppr i wouldn't mind shopping lamar i would
never trade jsn though oh how about this though he's in the league with her you guys call them
collusion and kicked him out of the league he's offering her chase brown and malik neighbors for
jsn not enough that's interesting i i mean i i i wouldn't hate that but i think i'd still probably
prefer jsn but it's close and no adam we're not calling that collusion because it didn't happen
moments after the wife and the husband were mad that the commissioner let another trade go through
and then spite made a collusion trade which is pretty obvious to anyone who was following along
that besides you should i
trade ali gordon really for chuba hubbard yeah you should yes uh should i trade golden yes
Stevenson. Who would do that trade?
This is probably, if I had to,
oh no, well yeah, probably do something pre-last
week, maybe? Bi-week? Need a replacement?
Yeah, this must have been a late question,
because you're in a bi-week, you have Chuba,
because you would never do that trade otherwise.
Yeah, that's true. But no,
it was a comment
on our Week 6 Wafer Wire show on Tuesday.
This is from Troy.
Should I trade Matthew Golden
and Ramondre Stevenson
for Devante Adams,
Jacory Krosky Merritt, and
Dallas Goddard?
No. What is it again?
Golden and Stevenson for Adams,
I don't think I'd do that. Bill and Goddard.
I wouldn't
do it. Yeah.
And last one is from Ace.
Jaden Daniels or Bryce Young this week?
Jaden for me. Daniels.
And Emeka Abuka, Luther
Burden, Josh Downs, Devante Smith.
Pick two. Abuka, Burden, Downs, Smith.
Burden and Downs for me.
Smith and Burden, if Smith plays,
I'll go Burden and Downs.
Fine. Craft or Kelsey?
Craft.
Kelsey for me.
All right.
And we'll finish up with your YouTube questions.
But Jamie, let's hear your story.
So it's really more like
a for Dan story, but
we'll see if you enjoy the entirety
of it. I teased it a little bit yesterday.
So
I give, I
write the start, sit story in segments
and then Dan puts the whole thing together for
the full length column.
So quarterback, running back, wide receiver,
and I try to work ahead as much as I can.
There's a lot of like little pockets of when I'm
trying to catch up on some stuff.
So I try, my intent is, and I don't even know if Dan knows,
like I try to get Dan everything by like six o'clock,
the latest on, on Wednesdays.
Um, was running behind, had to take my son to, uh,
he goes to a strength and conditioning, um, with his baseball team.
So I drop him off.
I pull back in the driveway.
I have still like a couple of tight ends, kicker and defense to go.
So it's almost done.
It's like around 6:30.
There's a pickup truck right outside my house.
I'm not in my driveway, but right outside, like on the swell.
I'm like, this is weird.
Like an old beat up pick old beat up pickup truck with like a bunch of tires
in, in the, in the bed, um, of the, of the pickup, which is somewhat important.
So I pull in my driveway as I'm getting out of the car, I see this guy coming
across the street, dragging something.
And it looked like, uh, Adam will know this Dan may from his tripper, but it
looked like he was dragging like a big Palm front.
So I thought maybe it was like somebody doing like some landscape.
Or something, whatever.
So I walk around the car, I'm like, Hey, what's going on?
And I look and he's tying up an alligator and not just like a baby alligator, like
a six foot, big alligator that you live by water.
Do I live by the water?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I live in a neighborhood that's called Island lakes.
It's a bunch of lakes.
Okay.
Um, around they're more like canals, but it's, you know, you get the point.
Um, tying up the alligator, he's now moving the tires and there are, these aren't
small tires, like moving the tires in the truck, picks up the alligator throws in the
back of the truck.
He goes, I gotta go get one more.
Oh my, oh my God.
As if like, he's going to pick like a banana from a tree.
Like he going to get one more.
This guy is barefoot, carrying fishing rods and a net.
So he goes running back between two houses.
And I'm like, I go inside my, my 14 year old.
So I go, you gotta come see this.
Yeah.
Okay.
Whatever, dad.
Uh, I'm like, no, there's an alligator in a pickup truck.
So walk outside.
I take the, I take the dog outside just to take it for a walk away from where the pickup
truck is just in case.
And so like this, uh, this like other teenage kid comes walking down the street.
I go, Hey, there's a alligator in the pickup truck.
Yeah, sure.
Guy.
Um, he goes and looks, he goes, Oh bleep.
Oh my God.
Um, so meanwhile, I'm like, so it was fine.
Huh?
He didn't say the end of the curse word.
So it was fine.
Yeah.
He said, Oh, um, and so then I'm waiting like to see if the guy's going to go bring
back another alligator.
So this is why I was a little late there.
I'm sorry.
So, um, all of a sudden, like the guy comes flying between two houses.
He goes, it got away.
And he goes, you saw the alligator.
I didn't.
No, no, no.
It was probably running after the alligator alligator on the way.
And then he came back the next day.
What do you mean?
So he didn't get it.
I looked on the, the right.
It says alligator trapper.
So this is what he does for a living.
Um, could you imagine that as a career?
Well, he lost it.
He lost.
He came back the next day.
Cause he didn't catch the thing.
He didn't catch it.
Yeah.
So you just have six foot alligators, like roaming the, the air.
My wife, like a, like a week or so ago,
she took a picture from the one that's behind our house.
And she said, uh, yeah, be careful walking the dog.
Um, because she saw the head of the alligator in the, in the water.
And they're like six feet.
Uh, it was, I don't know if that was a big one, but, uh,
the one that you saw was six foot.
That's crazy.
That's massive.
That's a massive size.
That's taller than any of us.
Insane.
Just six foot alligator roaming the neighborhood.
Who has eaten?
Like, thank God for this trap or this note.
There's a question from the chat.
Who has eaten alligator?
I've wanted to try.
I will try it, but I've never have.
Yeah, I have.
Um, but not at like a good place.
Is it gamey or just tough?
I don't really remember.
Sam, I texted you if you want to post a picture.
I think it's, I think it's tough.
I would assume tough.
I don't know if it's gamey as well.
I would assume just tough.
Tough is not great.
Yeah.
Show the picture, but crop out the house.
I don't have my phone on me.
Crop out the houses in the background.
This is insane.
Wow.
Yeah, we don't need a neighborhood showing on this.
Okay.
Go to Google Maps.
You can see any.
Remember this place, RJ Gators, Jamie?
RJ Gators?
Sounds familiar.
It was a sports bar in Coral Springs.
I thought there were multiple of them.
I think they used to serve alligators.
Oh, no, I used to have it at this place
called Dave's Last Resort in,
if anyone lives near Lake Worth.
It was, it was actually really good,
but it was fried.
It was fried alligator,
like kind of like a appetizer.
Okay.
Like calamari kind of, but alligator.
Yeah.
Is it like an octopus?
Like, I don't even know what I would expect alligator.
I think it's meatier than that.
That's meatier than an octopus.
Okay.
Okay.
Grade the trade.
No, we're back to football.
What'd you say?
We're back to football.
Yeah.
One in four.
That's a crazy story.
I need bodies.
It was, that's wild.
AJ, I'm not going to complain about mice anymore.
AJ Brown and Travis Achan for Higgins,
Laporta, Hampton, and Marks.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'd rather have the Higgins, Laporta.
Yeah, the Higgins.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Laporta is so good.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Alligator is fantastic.
Tastes like a chicken nugget.
Yeah, it actually is really good.
Okay.
There you go.
So it's not tough.
Bourne or Algier, half PPR.
Algier, if love doesn't play.
If not, I could go Bourne.
Sure.
Picked up Bourne and Bernard,
to keep away from a competing team.
Which do I keep rest of season?
I'd have to drop one for a kicker.
Bernard.
I would keep Bernard for sure.
All right, let's see that.
Let's see that alligator.
Oh, wow.
And that's being blocked off too,
by the tires.
That thing looks mean.
Look at its little hand.
So is it dead?
Did he?
No.
No, no.
That's like a live gator.
Yeah.
I don't even,
like what does he do with these things?
And the thing was like,
the tail was all curled up behind the tire.
Yeah, I could see.
It's obviously bigger than it looks in that,
because you could just tell by the size.
So like,
what are you,
are gators,
you have to trap them like they're a menace?
Like you're not allowed,
I don't understand.
Like you kill,
like I don't even get what you do with gators.
I'm not sure.
Yeah.
I'm not sure if he releases it or not.
Like what they're considered.
I don't even know.
I know like with,
because we've had like raccoon issues,
those get.
Okay.
Iguanas, they take away.
Yeah.
Oh, iguanas are diabolical.
Like iguanas.
Why?
During the winter.
Like it doesn't get that cold in Florida.
Great story.
But during like,
when it gets like in the forties or whatever,
they will freeze themselves.
And then fall from the trees.
I've seen that.
Yeah.
And then they're just like fine months later.
No.
Do you know the,
you've probably heard the stories of people that come to Florida,
find a frozen iguana,
take them home.
Oh no.
And it wakes up.
And they wake up in your bags.
Yeah.
Holy crap.
Yeah.
Don't ever touch a frozen iguana.
Who the hell is doing that?
Anyway,
like someone's like,
I'm just straight.
There's a guano home.
Why?
I would never want to do that.
Put it in my bag with my clothes and stuff.
There's dirty iguana.
No.
That is a great point.
Who would be a better gator catcher,
Dan or Adam?
We'd both be horrible at it.
Let me start by saying that.
Yeah.
We're both scared.
Adam,
I feel like you'd be a little more scared than me and hesitant than me.
I'd be terrified.
But what you do is you,
you like wrestle it and all you just,
they're,
they're jaws.
They're jaws.
Is that what you do?
I do.
Well,
you have to,
you,
you have to find a way to hold their jaws shut.
No,
I'm not doing this.
Their jaws are very weak to open.
That's what you can put a rubber band around their snout basically.
And they won't be able to open their mouth,
but they close.
But if you miss,
they're going to close on your hand and you're done.
Then you're dead.
Not dead,
but you lose a hand.
You got one shot.
You got one shot at it.
This doesn't sound great.
Dad acts like this is a new creature.
I don't have much familiarity with gators,
Julie Epic.
If we could,
this is not going to happen.
If someone would write us a million dollar check for St.
Jude,
don't put this out there.
You have to catch an alligator.
Don't put that out there.
No way.
Who has to catch him here,
Adam?
I was,
I went to a,
like I stood in an alligator pit at some place near Gainesville.
It was like an hour from Gainesville.
It was some like zoo.
And I stood in a pit with massive alligator.
I mean like 10 feet long.
It was crazy.
Did they like,
give them something, like a pill or something, whatever, to sedate them?
to try to find the picture uh all right so they were sedated alligators i assume or they were
just well fed and not hungry really grade the trade matthew golden and ollie and ollie gordon
the great ollie gordon for davante adams and jordan tyson i'd rather have the uh
i'll go golden and gordon yeah because we don't know what tyson's gonna play
yeah tyson doubt it okay how about sit one in ppr sit flowers watson jaylen warren or
javante williams wow oh that's tough it's really freaking tough i think i'd sit warren even though
they're all good plays and you have a great team yeah i mean you can make a case that flowers with
huntley but oh yeah still feel like in full ppr there's more upside or i guess floor to him than
warren yeah with dowdle back in the lineup but sir never gonna find that
picture sorry grade the trade cousins valet waddle cousins valet and waddle for some smith
and lamar jackson so you can't possibly davante smith why not because then it's just a joke of
a trade for the team that's trading for cousins valet and waddle that's a terrible i guess it
could be so then it looks like it is davante smith so yeah davante lamar side is a thousand times
better here so obviously james and uh and dan would i can't believe how bad the broncos passing
game is it's like shocking
and stunning to me what's going on there i watched a clip last night it was like here there was only
one pass attempt or completed that travel beyond the line of scrimmage or beyond the sticks
it was that waddle slant that was like behind him and he caught did you see ryan fitzpatrick right
oh that was crazy what ryan fitzpatrick said i've never seen that i know he's gonna apologize for
that or something something's gonna come out of that you can't just do that i don't think it was
crazy he's like this is disrespectful to the football to the quarterback he basically said
he's not trying out there he basically did say that he said
wasn't playing with passion i don't know how you measure that but i mean it was a little out of
bounds the quarterback keeper on third down did not look like he was i kind of agree with fitzpatrick
it didn't look like he was going all out for every yard on that play but he's kind of hurt and like
not running in general all right pick one kendry miller tyler algier damian pierce dylan samson
jaleel mclaughlin welcome to week six algier for sure if love doesn't play next is miller for me
if camara doesn't play uh
and then i'll go mclaughlin uh yes assuming everybody's healthy though i would go with
pierce yeah there's a big you could go it's me and jamie are off on are different on the
pierce things you got to pick a side there i'm just out on pierce completely this week
would you trade lad mcconkey and floyd maybe marshawn lloyd for t higgins yes i would want
higgins yeah and that's a great trade to make that quick before it gets pulled send mike evans
and omari and hampton get jaylen warren no oh no okay uh need a wide receiver three darius cooper
or quentin johnston oh johnston i guess i mean there's got to be somebody better on waivers like
go get uh tomorrow like douglas might be on waivers but he was probably picked up in this
waiver claim trying to think who's like very minimally owned right now um yeah demario douglas
like any of the patriots might be on waivers but he's probably picked up in this waiver claim
yeah i was gonna say that like the one guy if you're i think i'd go with quentin johnson over
this guy but laquan treadwell he gets targets yeah it's not terrible i don't want to end the
show on laquan treadwell no uh we'll uh we'll try forget it strike it from the record thank you for
for uh the two biggest hypocrites in the industry i am wow your left shoulder and your right shoulder

Summary:
FAQs
Using vetoes to block trades can create unfairness and reduce league competitiveness. It often leads to disputes, especially if trades involve collusion, such as husband-and-wife pairs, and undermines the freedom of players to make strategic decisions.
No, injury risk should not be the basis for vetoing a trade. All players are subject to injury, and such concerns are speculative. Trades should be evaluated based on performance and value, not assumptions about future injuries.
Yes, if two players in a league are married and make a joint trade, it constitutes collusion. This is a serious violation of league rules, and such trades should be vetoed if vetoes are allowed, as it undermines fairness and competition.
A two-for-one trade should only be accepted if the return is at least equal in value to the players given up. The trade must offer meaningful upside, and it should not be vetoed solely due to being a 'bad' trade if the value is balanced.
Collusion distorts competition by allowing players to manipulate outcomes to benefit their team. This undermines the integrity of the league and creates an uneven playing field, especially when players like spouses trade together for advantage.
No, a commissioner should not override a trade unless there is clear evidence of collusion or a rule violation. Allowing a commissioner to make unilateral decisions without consent can lead to accusations of bias and create conflict.
