Week 6 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Rankings: Best Pickups, FAAB Bids & Players to Drop (Ep. 2257)
54m 39s
The waiver week analysis centers on Woody Marks as the top running back target due to David Montgomery’s injury and the Texans’ reliance on Marks as the sole back. Marks' improved performance, including better pass-catching and consistent yardage, makes him a compelling RB2 option, especially in shallow leagues where he's more likely to be available. Other running backs like Kendrick Miller face significant limitations due to poor offensive lines and minimal touches, reducing their value. Among wide receivers, Jeremy Bernard stands out as a strong option in Aaron Rogers’ passing game, while Jordan Tyson, though injured, may return early and offers value in shallower leagues. Waiver claims are recommended to be aggressive—up to 25–30% for Marks and $6–$8 for others—especially for desperate 12–16 team leagues. The overall waiver landscape is described as chaotic and unpredictable, with few reliable options. Injury reports for players like Quinchon Judkins and Debo Samuel create opportunities for short-term value. The analysis emphasizes that while Marks is the clear top pick, other names like Tyson and Bernard provide strategic backup options depending on league depth and matchup dynamics. A key takeaway is that just because a player is rostered at high percentages doesn’t mean they’re available—availability and injury status are decisive factors. Ultimately, success hinges on understanding team matchups, offensive line stability, and league type to maximize value.

Over 50% rostered for this running back who is gonna take over a gig for at least a couple of weeks with a major injury. There are some wide receivers that are coming off of injury here soon and we might wanna target. There's some other just big performances that are going to be attractive to your fab and your waiver wire claims. But how attractive and who is out there? That's what we're gonna be covering on the week six waivers. I'm Chris Welsh, I'm back. We've got the great and powerful Pat Fitzmorris and the athletics one and only, Jake Saley. - Thank goodness. - Both of you find gentlemen. It's great to see, yeah, thank goodness. It's good to see you guys both again and it's good to see your take on what is kind of a squirrely waiver week. Per always, there's always like some decent wide receivers what's gonna look good out of it. But the running back situation is unique as we always do tackling the top name here. This is probably the highest roster percentage of a player we've talked about in previous weeks and we've kind of had battles, you know, battles between players. One reason we don't have a battle here was Jake is so anti one of these players. But the top dog to talk about for this one is Woody Marks. Now, Woody Marks at a 53% roster percentage on Yahoo, just scratches the line. Just puts his foot and puts it right over the line of like where we would usually talk about because any deep leakers are gonna go, not a my league. But there's plenty of 10 teams and you know what? There just still might be some floating out there 'cause the Texans job hadn't exactly been the most exciting outside of week one. But in Montgomery, suffer's a grown injury expected to miss multiple weeks. They've got a week eight by. So that gives a little bit of a runway. So Fitsy, let's talk about your take on Woody Marks here again. We are towing the line of roster percentage here but he looks like he's kind of the clear cover boy for waivers for week six. - He is and we're back to where we were late last season with the Texans and Woody Marks having the backfield to himself. But he's actually played a little better. It seems this year than last year and maybe the Texans offensive line is if not quite where it wants to be at least on the come up. So he's gonna have this backfield to himself. He not only is gonna get a vast majority of the carries while David Montgomery is out. He is a pass catching running back. So that's gonna help his value a little bit. And the only thing is that talking about the availability, he's more likely to be available in the shallow leagues where people are less apt to need him. 10 teamers, leagues where it's just kind of easier to fill those starting spots in the leagues where people most need him with those deep 12 teamers for those 14 teamers, where the depth is gonna be stretched by a 14 by week. He's probably not available. - Mr. Jake Ceeley, Woody Marks, 53% roster percentage Jags is gonna be the week six matchup. There's a by week and week eight. Like what's the level of attractiveness that Woody Marks holds if available out there? 'Cause you know there's some people out there that were probably like, you know what? I'm just, this Texan saying it just kind of vaulted him out there and there are gonna be people battling in waivers but how aggressive should battleers be and what do you think even based on the matchups coming out? - Yeah, so I think that's the point where I was gonna go with it too. It's not just the fact that if he is out there, blow your number one spot, spend your fab, do what you gotta do. I would consider this for the people there like not in my league. Well then here this is for you and your league. I would consider him a by-hi. I'm also because talked about it for the past few weeks. I think he's looked better than David Montgomery. And now that's relative to this team but if you look at a lot of his numbers, the yards per touch isn't as good as last year but part of that is the offensive line and like he's doing the best he can. Fitz brought up the fact that he's been better in the passing game but also if you just look at it, you take like EPA rushes of over 10 plus yards, touches over 20 plus yards, touchdowns and first downs per attempt. Like all these things like he's better than last year to back up what I'm saying. Like what I've seen it, I think that if you watch the games and you said you didn't know these two players, you say that guy looks like the better player, that's the better running back. So I would consider him by-hi. I'm not saying like go crazy to go get him in trades or everything like that but if somebody's gonna say, oh you know what? I don't really as what Fitz was saying is like, yeah you know maybe I had depth, maybe I'm in a shallow league and I still had him and I just don't need him. But you can go buy for like low end RB2 value. We have the week eight buyer for them. You're gonna get the next two weeks with that workload that we used to have him as an RB2 last year when he was super inefficient. And then what if he comes out of the buy and he keeps the lead and David Montgomery ends up being a time share as in the short yard, maybe steal some goal line opportunities which will be frustrating. But what if it ends up being a 60/40 split out of the buy and Montgomery's in the back half of it and you still have an RB2 going forward. So that's why I think if you're running back needy, I think you can quote by-hi and like I said, if he is available, this is one where I'd actually be more aggressive than we were last week. And you know what, I love that you pointed that out because I think that's the big determining factor is like, what if the share looks even bigger coming off of the buy? We're just expecting that Dave Montgomery, but Dave Montgomery's benefit in more inefficient than he has efficient on this team. It's one week where he's been rostrible and what he marks has looked a lot better. It's Jags and Week 7, Giants and Week, I'm sorry, Jags and Week 6, Giants and Week 7. That's great. Within the buy. Yeah, yeah. Terrible is in great. So it looks really good for what he marks. Fitsy, what's your take on the percentages of spending here? 'Cause I'm not sure if your excitement level was quite at Jakes 'cause Jake is like, burden number one, burn high fab. You know, that probably means for people is like, he's actually not one of those guys. You probably have to go like 30, 40%, but you could probably go 20, 25%. But Fitsy, what's your take on fab percentage and waiver claim to Woody Mark? I agree with that. If you're desperate at running back, I'd be willing to pay up to like 25 or 30% just because there are so few suitable alternatives to him this week. Well, if you use the word scorely to describe waivers this week, that was a brilliant euphemism for dog excrement or whatever you might otherwise use to describe waivers in Week 6. Yeah, a more appropriate family-friendly, family-friendly version of it. Well, we can talk about that. That's definitely in the realm of possibility of what other running backs could be floating out there. We will hit those names here in just a second. But before we do, it is game time. Do it for Cila. Do it for Fitsy. All right, so what are the running backs look like? So going into this week, by the way, is just to update as we always want to do. We do have some bi-weeks. We've got a heavy set of bi-weeks. We've got Cincinnati, Detroit, Miami, and Minnesota. So you're going to be without running back perspective, Chase Brown. You're going to be out to mere gives, which is the big one, Aaron Jones. If you care about Ollie Gordon. So you got some big shoes to fill for waivers this week. Unfortunately, you don't have big shoes. Outside of what he marks. They're a little bit smaller. Woody marks coming off of his 15 carry 62 yard output, 4 for 23, really the best overall output of any of these guys. But here's some running backs. I'll throw out at you. The one that I thought about, and actually, I'm going to stop at this guy for a second. And then we'll kind of go through these other names because I think they all belong in the same range. I thought there might be the possibility of putting Kendrick Miller up against Woody marks. He was 11 for 30, got the touchdown, kind of speculated with HN out that Miller, Camera, wasn't an all Camera output. He's around 12, 12.8% roster percentage Kendrick Miller, 11 for 30 with a score, Fitsy. Any excitement, anything for Kendrick Miller again, this is definitely the squirrely group here. But Kendrick Miller does seem like someone that could potentially fill some shoes. What's a you? It's hard to get excited because the Saiyans offensive line has been really bad since they lost Kelvin Banks. They're stunned tackle to a high ankle sprain, I believe. And they've got Alvin Camera in there, and Alvin Camera's been dealing with this back issue, but it's not so debilitating that their concerns about his availability. So he's going to be playing. We only saw Kendrick Miller get 14 snaps on Sunday. Now he did get carries on a high percentage of them. He had 10 carries in his 14 snaps, but it's just not much happening on the ground for the Saiyans right now. And my percentages are off. It's even less, not even 12.8%. It's 7%. So I'm going to go read, check all my roster percentages here, but now I'm messed up. But this is the one Jake where you were like, no. We'll just say this, you were like, no, on Kendrick Miller. This is about I think the other like real name outside of Woody Marks. It looks like, you know, there's some goal line equity. There's some, there's some type of equity. It's not exciting, but you really weren't excited about Kendrick. No, it's Woody Marks.
I don't want anybody else. It's a bunch of steamy pile of whatever squirrely word that was the euthanism for it. Yeah, it's but you know what, excrement. Now it really comes down to like the only other name we haven't mentioned it yet. I would actually be on a steamy appears just because he's going to get offset by bell cow volume, potentially if Barkley isn't back and Shipley is out. And even that's like, no, because the biggest thing about Kendra Miller, zero touches in the fourth quarter, zero. They, they, they are snaps even on top of it, not just touches snaps. Like they, once they were down, they went to the Alvin Camaro, CJ Donaldson split backfield. So if we're doing a full blown committee in this mess of a backfield with what fits brought up is just, I know they get the giants, but you're basically saying are the saints in it? Cool Kendra Miller might be an RB three are the saints out of it. Cool Alvin Camaro might be as RB three and then CJ Donaldson is just going to be hanging around just in the background somewhere. So like, no, this is what the packers were before this before they went down to two. So maybe if we got down to two, maybe if Camaro gets hurt again or Miller gets hurt or CJ, like I can't believe we're saying that CJ Donaldson needs to be out of the equation, but he's going to touch. He's the only one that got touches like consistently through the game. He got touches with Kendra Miller when they were closed. And then Camaro had, I think like one or two. And then Camaro got the touches in the snaps in the fourth quarter and CJ Donaldson was still sprinkled in the third quarter. So I want nothing to do with him. I want nothing to do with all the rest. I know, but all, but I mean the chargers are just this, it's Los Angeles Saints. Same thing. And their offensive line is even worse. So you can go down the list. I know you want to throw out some of the other names, but the only one I would have mild mild mild interest in. And then again, that's kind of in a situation like I was last week. I'm not saying that this just bringing up the examples. I had Woody Marx, Braille and Allen and somebody else is my RB two is because Kenneth Walker is on a buy. So if you're in that kind of situation, you have to be like, okay, I just need a body to throw in as my RB two for Damien Pierce. That would be the only one I have interest in. So Kendra Miller again, 11 for 30 with the touch on Damien Pierce. As you mentioned, only 2% on he went 11, but only for 14 gross potential workload there. The Cmd Vidal situation, it's going to show it's in a manifest in another way and here in a tiny bit, but he's 2% on he was 8 for 57 in a score. It's all gross. Taje Spears is actually the funniest one because he literally had zero yards rushing, but he had nine catches and it was like for like 20 something yards, which is it's absolutely the line of scleries across the board. 23 yards. Corey Keiner, 6 for 52. We can throw out a little McLaughlin, Pierce Strong. Those are a few names here. Fitsy, I'd be curious. What are the names of interest here and what are the feds? Let's let's talk about Fab for a second. Then we'll go back to Jake here. Throw Kendra Miller back in here as far as like what you would do for Fab, but are there a couple names on this RB Adless that if you're in desperation world, you would potentially put a buck or two on it. What does it look like? I don't think I'm going to double digits on any player in Fab this week. Like if I were really desperate in a 14 or 16 team league, I don't want to go more than like $8 for Kendra Miller. The one guy I think we should maybe keep an eye on this week early as far as the injury news goes Julio McLaughlin for the Browns because Quinchon Judkins was in a walking boot reportedly after the Browns Juds game on Sunday. And Raheem Sanders, Rocket Sanders went out with a hip injury in that game and they already had Dylan Samson on IR with I believe in knee injury. So it's possible Julio McLaughlin is top of the heap for the Browns in week six. And this is a guy who I think was the college all-time rushing leader coming out of Youngstown State with more than 8,000 yards when he came out averaged 4.9 yards per carry. His first three seasons in the league had 55 catches over his first two seasons in Denver. Guy can actually play a little and there's a chance he's the number one back in Cleveland. It's really same thing on any of these days. I know you said you said your interest was so little I would just be curious at the money. That's the only thing you didn't say on Fab of like who is it the guy you were saying Damien Pierce with the any potential workload that could be floating out there. What is that I think it's like four dollars and I missed them. No problem. Honestly, that was the one other name I was saving because I knew you're going to bring up all the rest of the names. Kiner's interesting if Henderson's missing significant time just because okay, you're one more injury away from they probably they signed somebody off their practice water off the street. But little burst in his game could be a 50/50 split on the Patriots offense. It'd be a desperation RB three for deeper people out there. But the other name I was going to bring up is what Fitz just said about McLaughlin. If we knew like let's put it this right now right now today, there's no Barclay. There's no Shipley. There is no Juckins. There is no Sam Rheem Sanders. I would go higher on McLaughlin. I would go seven or eight. I would rather have McLaughlin even going against I mean the Ravens versus going against the Jaguars. You know what I'm going to start against the Jaguars. So I would go in that situation there to go back to the Woody Mark situation is that like the ranks can be close for that. That's why I bring up the Jaguars. But I think McLaughlin would be interesting in that situation. The weird thing was like the Juckins was there's no news about it and then the boot and I've seen something like happened earlier this year. I forget who the player was but it could be as something as simple got stepped on and cut his foot and they just don't want to make sure something happens walking out the stadium. I know exactly what you're talking about like he left the stadium and then it was like the very next day they were like it was just to protect this foot on the way out of the stadium. I feel like it was a wide receiver. God is awesome. I know. Someone in the comments is going to get it. But I know. But anyway, so like hopefully that's the case. But if not, yeah, I agree with Fitz. I'm McLaughlin. All right, it's Yucky and it's gross running backs. It's Woody Marks. It's maybe small sprinkles of Kendrick Miller, Damien Pierce and everything else. Sorry, Joe back in. Well, she did it like for everybody that hates when I do that. But how weird is that that the top waiver pickup for two weeks in a row is getting to face Jacksonville? I just thought about that. That's why I was bringing up. Oh, like that is like the Jaguar. Who's playing the Jaguar next week? Yeah, well, actually look, I think I actually have it up here. Oh, go pick up. That's the going. Sorry, Jeff, until you're done. Oh boy. He's absolutely. Yeah, they get the cults. I think they're not great that all these hot waiver pickup suddenly going against one of the best run defenses in the NFL and like hit like the like the two years since week one last year, they're there of a buy and then they have the cults. Whether you're stepping up to the starting line of a marathon or just trying to take the first step toward a big scary goal, the conversation in your head is usually the same. When you sign up, that's fp pod to get $25 free after you deposit just 10 bucks. Let's go look at the wide receivers. Now this is where we have got some differences. I had didn't even really ask you guys because we had a consensus that the top name was Woody Marks on running backs. The top name on wide receivers. It's not the same. So Jake, why don't you kick us off here? Who is your top wide receiver ad? And then after we get your big wide receivers, we'll go through kind of a list of some others. But who tops the list for you? For me, it's if flashed a little bit earlier this season. It's a rookie playing with a quarterback who inherently hates rookies. But I'm going for Jeremy Binard. It really comes down
to. There's nobody left standing next to DJ Metcalf. Well, we had Michael Pittman, who was a drop candidate and then got hurt. And then on top of we had Roman Wilson, which looked like he was going to be exciting. We talked about him last week. And the concern was that Fitz brought up at the time was that he wasn't even getting past Bernhardt. It's not counts, but he was getting used. And then he dislocates a finger and they said it's going to be multiple weeks for that. So it was like, we weren't sure last night, whether or not that meant this time. And it was going to be like at an I Michel situation he does this time. And I think Mitchell needs to be brought up as well, by the way, but I would go for Bernhardt. He's the number two Aaron Rogers. Thank you, Mike McCarthy. You turned back the clock for Aaron Rogers, not to prime, but at least five years ago, Aaron Rogers. And he continues to produce every single week. And you saw what Bernhardt can do. And the thing that I like about what he does is I think he fits better alongside DK Metcalf than Pittman does, which is what Roman Wilson was doing, which is why I like Bernhardt. So I think like the opportunity here is hit like it's here. It's here for him to start producing this week as a Y receiver three. Yeah, I had, I mean, I was big Roman Wilson. I kept trying to put Roman Wilson on the sheet weeks ago. We couldn't get him on, but now all these guys are we had the last list and you're gone. Yeah, I was in here for it. Yeah, that's when it was all exciting. But the interesting thing is I didn't put him on the next segment we'll do, but there's a part of me that wanted to be like, do we need to start actively, really 10 man leagues in the cut or keep of DK Metcalf. Like DK is just empty. It just, it's, you know, it's like, oh, you might have that one guy. I know the week before it was like a big game, but you just get like those low in receptions or snow yards. There's just never big games. I'm ever playing DK Metcalf unders. I know it's a bit dramatic because no one wants to be like in 10 team leagues. It feels like that. It's just funny that we would have it or maybe I'm the only one that's having the consideration of cutting him. And then we're actively kind of excited about Bernhardt. But it seems to be the other wide receivers, the non DK role that plays up a little bit. Fittowitcher take on Bernhardt. You gave a face to when I said the DKs. You clearly don't want to cut DK and still put them out there. So let's start there. Yeah, I think DK is just volatile. And maybe Jeremy Bernhardt will be less volatile than DK. But this is pretty interesting that the Pittsburgh passing game is one we maybe do want to buy into now. Because yeah, last year Aaron Rogers is average depth of throw with six yards. This year is up to 8.7. Who would have imagined the Aaron Rogers Mike McCarthy reunion in Pittsburgh would be going this well. But three straight games with three touchdown passes for Aaron Rogers. And he's averaged 275 passing yards of game over that stretch. Bernhardt has this kind of well-rounded skill set. He's good after the catch reliable hands. And just he was like regarded as a team leader at Alabama and just seems like a guy who does things the right way. And you kind of have to be that guy if you want to play with Aaron Rogers as a rookie and see the ball. Let's talk Fab for a second waiver claim. Jake, let's go back to you. What's your fab look like and how high up on waivers? What type of claim would you use on him? I don't think I would burn the number one unless you're like 14 team league and you'd need waivers. We are hitting the buys. I mean, we hit two last week and we have four this week. And there's some significant names running back to which we didn't really kind of talk about. But there's significant names up by this week. And it's not going to stop for a while as everybody knows. So if you need waivers. I mean, like last week, we almost lost chase on top of everything where I was looking at one guy. I'm just bringing up like home league where he's down to potentially starting like I forget it was I think he was going to throw in a serious Cooper, which would have worked out for him. But like if you're that deep, I can sit. That's the point I want to bring up is like I can see having to burn the number one just because waivers are picked thin at this point. If you're in your typical 12 team league and you still have rolling waivers, I'd probably like, yeah, if I have the three or four, I'll take a shot on it. And I'd probably go somewhere between five and 10, depending on how desperate I am. I think these, you could push 10. You could actually, if you're going to go back to the thin, I think you could push up into the teens. I'm a believer dollars or percent percent. Okay. All right. It just because you know, 10, $10 at this point could actually look more like 20% in some leagues, which you may have to end up going. I mean, again, uh, 15 here needy. Yeah, yeah, exactly. I mean, flex leagues. I'm 14 team league 20%. Honestly, yeah. I don't even look and Jake, but there's someone on this that has been killing the flex leagues lately. I'm killing it right now. Fitsy, what would you your level of excitement on Bernard? What would you burn and what would the fab look like? Forty eight dollars, maybe more if you're really desperate at wide receiver. Okay. All right. What your guy, let's talk about yours. You're taking a different angle on the wide receiver this week. And I think it's going to be on a lot of people's mind. So Bernard was not your top wide receiver ad Fitsy. It was who? He's totally a not a my league bro kind of guy, but it's Jordan Tyson, who is suddenly for the first time all season available in more than half of Yahoo leagues, only 49% rostered. So it's the shallower leagues where he's going to be available. But this is a guy you could make a case for being valuable in shallow leagues. The eighth overall pick of the draft and a guy who was really drawing rave reviews and training camp before he introduced hamstring in a joint practice between the Saints and the Jaguars in mid August. When on IR has been there ever since and now they're talking about there was a report from Adam Shaftor VSP on last week that he could return Jordan Tyson as early as week seven. But since the Saints of a week eight by it's more likely to be a week nine return for Tyson, a guy I think would be worth stashing because the Saints are throwing it around quite a bit. They like to play to fast offensive pace under Kellen Moore and just the talent level we're talking about with the top 10 draftback. Is it but you feel compelled you got to do it now? Like this is when you need to you need to get in on weeks. So you need to get what is it like four weeks in front of Tyson if he's floating out there right now? I mean there might be some leagues where it's not recognized that he's available and maybe you could get by with a buck or two. But I think if you really want to make an earnest attempt to actually get him you're going to need to go somewhere from like six to 12. Seely if you were faced with Bernard or Tyson both on wavers right now. Is it still Bernard over him and what would you put on Tyson? I would still go Bernard. You still have Tyson where they floated out potentially week seven maybe which sounded doubtful now two weeks ago and then they have the week at buy. So why are they going to bring it back before week eight. And then on top of it it has nothing to do with the talent. Like I am a Jordan Tyson believer. Let's make that clear. I have to do with the recurrent injuries and the fact that valet plays good enough that they don't have to slam him in there. I think that the problem comes down to like a case he accepts you on or a Kyle lemon or just anything like that where it's like hey you know what we can bring him in a long slowly. He should take the number two. He's much better town. Like the talents again not a question. He's better than valet. He should be the one and two with Chris Alavi. It's just how quickly does that happen. So they come out of the buy they get the browns. Caroline looks like a great match up Chicago's great match up Cincinnati particularly like I mean you have a really green Bay Carolina Tampa like the rest of the schedule is like please like go by the way get some saints. If you want to buy some on saints at Chris Alavi coming off that game Tyler should come off that game. The rest of the schedule maybe has two or three landmines for the rest of the season for the Saints. So by the way buy that passing game. But all that being said I was still taken are because I get the production now. I don't have to wait three weeks and I'll have to potentially longer. Like we're assuming but this is again the soft tissue soft tissue soft tissue and it's the same injury same injury same injury and now it's two different legs but this is one of the legs. The only has to and once you have a third injury has probably happened until the will repeat so that's why and but I agree with fits that if he is out there and you don't need a Bernard like he shouldn't be sitting on waivers. The the profiles are really different. I think you could make the case that you get a higher upside with Tyson just because of the level of prospect he was bought the immediate availability of Jeremy Bernard is going to make him more valuable to some people than Tyson would be. Yes, by the way, see like did you approve of my flex standing flex like standing. Well, I mean, you're I mean, you're going to be in like tied for third. You're just having a smash week. So I haven't haven't. Well, you said it's pretty good. You say like smash. You say smash and I was like, I was expecting to be like, no, I think it's I think the top three are undefeated. No big deal. No, no. What would leak or you look at us? I think I was. No. No. Just make it stuff over. Make it up. Fabb is making up record standings. Make it up percentages. Not fab bids, but no one I need to look for my phone as a camera. All right. Well, now I regret even what happens when when well, it goes, watch too much baseball for a week. This is what happens. Yeah, I was in LA actually. I was cruising around LA. All right. Let's talk about some wide receiver. There's some other wide receivers though. Bernard, by the way, six for 89 targets. That's what that looked like. That was the Roman Wilson line before. Richard Bateman still floating out there. Five for 62 this week. Kendrick born. This is one I thought was nice and sneaky too because his roster percentage is super, super low and Marvin Harrison is getting shipped out of town. Two percent. He was five for 70 on eight targets. Pop Douglas with his two percent roster percentage was four for 65. He had the two scores. Darius Cooper, two for 71 in the score. And then we had a nice little addition from Fitsy here. No, I think it was Cele of Christian Kirk. Christian Kirk is going to be coming off of the IR here shortly. So those are thinkers, some of the most intriguing names out here. Fitsy, why don't we go to you? Give me a couple names that you have interest in putting some waiver claims on out of this list. Maybe there's a name I did mention, but I think those are kind of the top dogs here. Kendrick born is the big one. Yes. It just, yeah.
Yeah. With the Marvin Harrison junior trade now, Kendrick born is the clear number two receiver for the Cardinals. Number three in the target packing order behind Tramock Brian Michael Wilson. And then we some have five catches, 70 yards, eight targets Sunday for the Cardinals in their loss to the Lions. And I thought that passing volume was going to come way down for the Cardinals this year, was after drafting a running back top five. Well, so far going into week five, uh, Jacobi Brissette had averaged 38 pass attempts a game. And I did not look to see how many through yesterday, but, um, so now he's like at 40 attempts a game. Yeah. I mean, the passing volume is great. And Kendrick born is going to be a big part of that. This wasn't his first good game. He had eight catches for 75 yards back in week one against the chargers. I think Kendrick born is kind of a plug-and-play pickup right now. You could start him kind of a tough matchup against the Rams in week six and then Denver in week seven. Maybe they get Patrick's or tan by then or did Sir Tango and I are maybe Sir Tam can't come back. But tough matchups, but given the past volume for the Cardinals and born's prominent place in the past catching packing order, I think he's a really good pick up. Yeah. And I think this is pesky a non like wavered leagues and Yahoo push it up to around 6%. But still under 10% rostered kind of across the board. A silly same thing. Is there a guy or two that really tickles your fancy besides Bernard that you would be trying to put some fab on? Be born. I'm not as excited as Fitz is mostly because I don't expect them and I knew the 47 numbers because I was going to say I don't expect them to throw 47 times the game. And, you know, Quentin Tarantino catching two touchdowns. Thank you very much. But at one side, let me throw you guys just because I'm here locally. And they're starting this process, which means it's coming soon with the trade. There's a couple of local reporters out here that are already saying and by the way, after the Marvin Harrison trade, the Cardinals are not currently looking at changing the quarterback. What that means is it's going to be Carson back time in a couple weeks because this trade signaling that this team is moving off of those pieces. So just throwing that out. If it's long term, if it means anything to anybody, I'm not sure that they'd be comfortable throwing 47 times the Carson back. But we might be a few weeks away from them making that major change. Just wanted to throw that as an addition. I love they do. They have a week 14 buy. So maybe it's not like they do it before the buy. They get Washington at home and Philly at home, those two weeks right beforehand. But the schedule right before that was what I was going to bring up, which is why I'm not like again, I agree. Kendrick Bournem would be next to the list of the guys we're talking about ahead of I add a Christian Kirk and I was going to bring up his name, but at Rams Denver at home at Dallas is nice. But then at Seattle Rams again at Kansas City, like looking at that schedule, the only game I feel good right now talking about starting them in is the Cowboys game. And like that's just really what comes down to is not it's not the fact that like some of those all fences can't force the factor is that also there's a good enough defense is that I don't know percent throws 40 times in those games, like even by necessity. So that's all I'm saying. It's just like I think Kendrick Bournem is not going to be anything more than a wires here before for me. But again, they like you can't thumb your nose up at that and every single league out there. So he would be next. And then Christian Kirk, like just we said it for years, when healthy, he's productive. And I only put added them to the thing is because Christian Kirk, we saw Brandon cooks get too tired. Like they called the back the one on a penalty and they're like, you know what, we're going to run the exact same play and get the touchdown anyway. And they did to Brandon freaking cooks in 2026. But really what it comes down to is Debo Samuels, heading for an MRI today on that lake, which MRI with soft tissue usually means some bad news. Maybe we're surprised by it. And then if Debo Samuels only missing one week, you kind of throw that out the window. Cause Kirk is potentially. So they said on I think it was October 2nd, where he said he was about two weeks away. That would be we're coming up on the two weeks for this weekend coming up. Does that mean he actually plays as it means he comes back to practice this week? Who knows? But all that being said is like deeper leagues Christian Kirk, if Debo's out and he's actually on the field is the number two to Mike Evans. I mean, technically he's the four behind Kittle Evans and Christian referee. But it's Brock Perty in this off. And so Christian Kirk and Debo Leagues a fab fits on on both. Oh, sorry. I thought you're asking me. Sorry. Yeah. Well, no, for both of you guys, what did we do? Fat? What was your fab number on born and we'll stop there? We recommended three to six in the waiver article. This okay. I'm in the same window as that. And then on Kirk, is that just is that like a zero dollar bid or a dollar bid for you, ceiling? I throw like a dollar or two of 14 team league. You might have to go three or four depending if people are waking up and paying attention to the fact that he's about to return in the injuries to that team. Is there anybody else on this list that did anything for any? We don't have to go into crazy analysis, but Bateman, pop Douglas Cooper to make three really quick points about the wide receivers. Absolutely. Yes. Alright. So with the Eagles, I think Darius Cooper's fool's gold as soon as Don Tavy and Wix or excuse me, as soon as Devonte Smith comes back, Cooper is going to get his snaps cut to next to nothing. Don Tavy and Wix is the better ad, I think, on waivers and he's available in most Yahoo Leagues because he's going to continue to be a full time guy. I think pop Douglas is fool's gold for the Patriots. I would rather have effed in Chisholm who ran more routes and played more snaps than Douglas, but Douglas said the big plays Chisholm quietly five for 57 last week after the big touchdown against the bills in week four. And last point I'm going to make like we should probably at least monitor the status of CD Lam's quad injury because if there's any chance he misses week six, Ryan Flournoy, almost a hundred yards last week, big play guy and in the Dallas offense is the number two receiver. That would be a guy you'd probably want to start sneaky. I do like the Flournoy. Don't pronounce the R. Flournoy. By the way. Oh, no, no, no. Yes. Yes. Flournoy. Yes. Flournoy. You don't pronounce the R, which is the weirdest thing ever to look at that name and be like Flournoy. But anyway, yeah, Jeremy, Jeremy Bernard is Jeremy. By the way, it sounds like every time I say it sounds like the same Jeremy in my head, Jeremy Bernard, Tess Law, Flournoy. All these guys have been in like what like my next men up kind of like hand cuff wide receivers. So I'm really glad that Fitz brought up Flournoy. And that fact that if CD Lam is out like I had somebody start Flournoy against me in a desperation spot. So ticked off. It's like really like why why could my tray Harris hit like that jerk. But like I completely agree on the fool's gold throw Kyle Williams into that fool's gold too. He was a great desperation play this week. But AJ Brown, it sounds like he could actually come back this week. The two others that I would throw out super, super deep leagues. If Jordan Askins not back and TJ Hawkinson is out. I know Gavin Bartholomew did something like that. But Joanne Jennings would be the kind of like the Kyle Williams next week. We're like, Hey, you're desperate. You need to hope for a touchdown. And then I actually think it's a really big bounce back scenario for Harold Fanon, given the weather. But KC conception on probably missing some time. Super deep leagues. If you need a desperation, Isaiah Bond has talent. And that's, you know, he kind of filled the role 100%. It was like, hey, conception goes out. It's Isaiah Bond. I know that catch that he should have had as everybody is going to be like, this is why he's frustrated. But that's why he's Isaiah Bond. And that's why super deeper leagues. Like I said, I actually think this is a bounce back spot for Fanon. But those are deeper, deeper ones to bring up just for people out there in like the 14 team leagues. All right. Let's jump into some quickkitters here. Our first quickkitter is keep or cut. I put together a few players. I want to get your guys's take on. And I think the biggest one I mentioned it earlier, a Marion Hampton. I know now you don't want to consider any of these big guys. I said DK Metcalf and you guys looked at me like, you know, like I dropped on when you love. But a Marion Hampton 14 for 33. This week, it was vital. Last week, it was Mitchell, the snap council. Nothing looks good. At what point, maybe put yourself in the 12 man if you need to, but keep or cut Fitsy or Marion Hampton. Here's my conspiracy theory and why I do not want to cut a Marion Hampton just yet. I think my Daniel could get fired as early as this week. In which case, I don't know where Jim Harbock goes, except other to kind of go back to caveman ball, the sort of offense he won a national championship with at Michigan, in which case, you would figure out Marion Hampton would be prominently involved. Seely keeper, cut a Marion Hampton. My problem is I don't care because the offensive line is so trash and he doesn't fit the offense. And maybe they do go, but that's the big thing. I'm like, Fitsy is really like we've talked about this point. Like this is what it is. It's like, Hampton is actually not a great fit for the Mike McDaniel offense. I didn't rank him like that. I'm not saying like, haha, I told people that this is like, I should have ranked them lower, but I thought Mike McDaniel could do enough with this offense that would offset the despairing like Hampton's between the tackles. Hampton's not in the space in his own concept. And that's really what's killing him so far. But the offensive lines killing him on top of the fact they're down three guys again. You saw how miserable it was in that game. But I agree with Fitsy for one thing is that you could at least throw him in a trade. Somebody is still going to see a Marion Hampton and you, I mean, he's only a piece to add on at this point. He's not going to drive the trade for you. But if you drop him, he's immediately getting picked up. It lead by half the league is going to pick him up just because they could. Yeah, well, no, because they can also stash him on the best of things. So why you could get some trade value from him, like throwing as a two from one type of deal is because something's going to be like, it's the Drake May from three weeks ago where we sat here and like, go pick him up, go pick him up, go pick him up for everybody that dropped him because you're getting him for free. And now you can just throw him on the bench and not have to worry about it. Jake, I'm very in Hampton for a Woody Mark.
Who says no? Wow. I mean, that's the point at that's at the point is where we're at now. Hey, look, if you have Hampton, go get marks. There you go. There you go. All right, Keeper Cut, David Montgomery speaking of you guys kind of alluded to this. Obviously, there's an injury floating out there. He's been kind of a nothing burger. IRs will allow you to stash or whatever, but from an overall generic standpoint, Jake, Keeper Cut, Dave Montgomery, 10 team and no IR, he gone 12 team no IR, you can make a case. He's gone. No IR is the right thing. Like no IR, you can make a case in 12 10 teams. See you. 50 same thing. Dude, Jake said it perfectly. Just do okay. That is so potentially cut. And then another running back, Sean Peyton took over the offense. Things are going to change. Things are going to be off awesome. It's going to be RJ Harvey, right? It wasn't three for seven on the play calling. It was JK Dobbins. So Fitsy, Keeper Cut, RJ Harvey. I'm keeping. He had 20 catches in his first three games. Jake, I mean, he's also one injury away from being volume. So he's one one away wide receivers. I'm going to probably continue so you just keep putting them on here, speaking of that offense. Sean Peyton takes over. It's going to go all the way to Jalen Waddle, right? Two for 19 for Jalen Waddle. The misery continues. Jake, Keeper Cut, Jalen Waddle. I'm going to use the quote that I always do from happy go more. There's a problem. You're not any good. And I'm talking about bone nicks. Like you can't fix bone nicks. Like I do think that some things are going to change. You saw, you saw Sean Peyton's fingers on that game because you saw what happened with JK Dobbins. So like I do think things are going to get better. Guess what, though? At home, I guess Seattle this week. So I was getting better this week. But you can't drop Jalen Waddle. You cannot. I still think I brought it up on this very show and said that if teams want to focus on them, they will take him away because he's Jalen Waddle. But that's not a bad thing. There will be better days. That's what you can't move on from Jalen Waddle. Just plug him on your bench and understand suckers life. But I would actually go by low because I don't invest in him anywhere. I would go by low on Jalen Waddle right now. But see Keeper Cut, Jalen Waddle. Keep. Okay. I mean, I think it's fun to do these because I think these are the questions we see in the live streams at this point. The frustrations of the big frustration plays. Like you might get us on the next one. Yeah, well, the last one doesn't say I think it's a little bit easier. I wanted to pick names that I think people are going to ask whether we think it's obvious to hold or not. The last one though, I think it's a little bit easier. Romeo Dobbs. Romeo Dobbs drops a one for 16. AJ Brown is coming back. So I mean, the offense is rolling again. Maybe AJ Brown fixes and helps and creates some separation or something for him. But it's been bad. So Jake Keeper Cut, Romeo Dobbs. You can cut him mostly because it's not that AJ Brown, I think really fixes him. I think it's kind of what fits brought up earlier. It's just worth it like chism. Like we have multiple pieces being built. I think it's AJ Brown. And then I by committee, including the Titans, fits you agree? Yeah. Dobbs has been overpriced since draft season. Okay. So Dobbs because of the Packers. Yeah, kick this. No, I mean, he's he's fine, but he's just your replacement level NFL wide receiver. Yeah, yeah, the tough to even get out there on by week performances. I'd rather put Bernard out there right now than Romeo Dobbs. So that's why I think he's kind of an easy cut. All right. So Keeper Cut, you guys can let us know who else do you think are those hard decisions. And you can give us some suggestions in the comments below. That's fantasy pros.com slash plan. All right, top streamers for the week. Jake, why don't you start us off here? Since there'll be no kicker and our boy Fitsy will pick up that, but top quarterback top tight end and top defense that you are picking up going into week six. Yeah, I'm going to go with the quarterback. That's cubie 11 and fantasy points for a game, which is just shocking beyond like, no, people would have said you're crazy. And also, by the way, he's cubie 11 coming off a one touchdown game. And that's Kirk cousins going against the bills. So everybody's attacking the bills. It helped everybody get right except for Justin Herbert, when it got Jake Maywright, and he gets the bills next week. And then again, two, three touchdowns in every game until last week and that blow up against the Patriots, which he still had 14 points in, like it's just crazy that Kirk cousins is being productive. So I'm going for him going for wall or tight end tight end waivers are recur streamers are becoming super thin at this point, because a lot of the decent ones are now well over 60%. But one thing for touchdowns or first downs per reception, the league leader, shocker Mike Evans, you know, number two, Darren Waller. So, I mean, I know it's a small sample because he doesn't have the volume that everybody else has, but 84.6% of his receptions have been first downs or touchdowns like that's insane. By the way, Mike Evans is 87.5 to give you an eye there. And then the Carolina Panthers come out of their buy for a match up with the Eagles, which I know have sometimes stifled tight ends, but it's been kind of more like the tight ends they face that's still an area of the slot that tight ends the middle of the field where Darren Waller can do damage is something they're still susceptible to. And then defense coming out there by with what might be like the biggest smack in the face that any could possibly have is that guess what the chargers get the face the chiefs on the road coming out of the chiefs by. Oh my god, chiefs might be my number one defense this week. I can't believe nobody was like looking ahead and like holding on to them for like coming out of that by. I think the chargers have committed 13 turnovers in five games, which is such a disaster. All right, Fancy, what are you looking at for your top quarterback, tight end and defense and kicker streamers for the week? Yeah, Aaron Rogers is the top streamer. We've talked about how he's thrown three touchdown passes and three straight games as average 275 passing yards over that stretch and gets the past funnel boccaneers defense this week. Stick with the Steelers for streaming tight end really bad week for streaming tight ends, by the way, so we're just going to go with the touchdown dependent Pat Fryermouth has not had a 50 yard receiving game this season, but he does have four TD passes. Maybe he gets another one against the box. Chiefs are far and away the best streaming defense, but look, the Saints defense has been really bad, but it is generally not bad policy to stream a defense against James Winston who takes a lot of sacks and throws a lot of interceptions and the giants are playing the Saints this week. And then a kicker, Chris Boswell, another stealer, boccaneers, I believe are allowing 15 points a game to kickers this year. I don't know if that is really kind of a sticky stat or whatever, but Boswell's always getting opportunities to kick field goals for the Steelers and then Harrison Butler stream him against the Chargers. The Chiefs are averaging just under 30 points a game. Chargers are giving up over 25 points a game. All right, then our top five. Oh, yeah, go ahead. It fits. Yeah, Chargers 13 turnovers. They're leading the league. The next closest Patriots and Saints at 11 each. Do you guys want to guess who the only team with one is just real quick before we move on? By the way, Charger defense is also or Chargers have allowed the defense facing them. Score double digits in all but one game, by the way. I feel like it should be someone fun. It's it is. Yeah, it's a fun offense. It's like the Lions. Yep. One turn over. Oh, look at so surprisingly. Commander's only two. How about that? I'm going to continue. Oh, wow. All right, top five. This is your top five boards for the week. These are the big white waiver priorities. You can kind of piece it together. Fitsy, why don't you give us what your top five on waivers is looking like this week? I'm going to go with Woody marks number one. Jordan Tyson number two. Jeremy Bernard number three. Kendrick Boren kind of tied four or five. I'll go Miller four born five. And if we just revisit the waiver money wise, it was like up to 20% on marks and then born you go down to around what like four bucks. Is that like the general spending range? Does that sound right? Or do you want to correct? I go up to I go up to six for born. Okay. So pretty aggressive there. See like your top five waiver board this week. Yeah. Number one is Marx as we talked about. Number two is a day we just I kind of threw in there earlier. We just kind of never really went into. But at my michael is down to 21%. Like at some point, coming back from the finger, like it's been three weeks now. And can you see just got a concussion, which is why you didn't see him pop off in that box. Gory saw a little bit of mason Taylor. But no, so deep. And he was the michael's the clear number two. Like I'm kind of really I haven't to hoping that he's back this week. That's really to comes down to. But if he is, he would rank higher than even the art. So that's really comes down to at my number three. And then I don't even want to go to four and five, but it's Damien Pearson. I'd take a flyer on Cory Kiner over the most of the rest. I could see go like it's like number five is I saw Fitz having born. I'd be fine with that Tyson is obvious. I kind of throw Tyson in there because the conversation we had earlier he would have been my number two. If you're looking for a long term Bernard would be my number two. So you can kind of see where I'm going there. I just gave like seven different lists, by the way. So yeah, you did. I do like the both of your number twos or both these like banged up wide receivers that, you know, you guys are kind of sneaking in value. But I think that's great. But I think you guys have both kind of said, well, I mean, maybe you a little bit more to really that you set like, it's like Bernard Mitchell Tyson marks like that's the range. That's where you're going to put the more aggressive waiver claims and money. Fitz is a little bit more spanned out on the money maybe there's not much of a separator, but they're
There's some interesting names, unfortunately, they're just not running backs. And that's, I know what people are trying to battle for, but there's some good takes as far as where you guys might be able to go and even in the trade market here, or kind of tackle some of these with, again, mentioning, as I did at the top of the show, you've got some bi-weeks. You got some big bi-weeks since that Detroit Miami Minnesota. I mentioned that earlier, but you got to Joneses out Gibbs and Chase Brown. - I'm sorry, I completely forgot to bring this up earlier. I was surprised. I made a note. I was like, "Hey, ask Fitz why he didn't say it." And you didn't. Emmett Johnson coming off the buy. That's been your boy the entire season. I just figured you'd bring him up at some point. That's, I actually made a note to say, as Fitz is going to say anything about Emmett Johnson coming off the buy. - No, I mean, we list him as a running back stash and one of the most valuable handcuffed running backs you can have out there. So, I mean, just no stain-alone value, bud. - No, don't forget he's out there. - I was certain you were going to bring him up. That's why. - I mean, generally, I don't like handcuffing my running backs until Thanksgiving, but if I had Kenneth Walker, I would probably make an exception for Emmett Johnson. - All right, friends, don't forget about our weekly WaverWire live stream. Podcast Summary
Key Points:
Woody Marks is the top waiver target among running backs due to David Montgomery’s injury and increased workload, offering strong value in shallow or deep leagues.
Marks has shown improved performance this season, with better pass-catching ability and consistent stats, making him a viable RB2 in fantasy football.
Kendrick Miller and other running backs face uncertainty due to offensive line issues and limited playing time, reducing their attractiveness in most leagues.
Wide receiver options like Jordan Tyson and Jeremy Bernard are available, with Tyson potentially returning early and Bernard thriving in Aaron Rogers’ passing game.
Top waiver value is concentrated in a few players, with Woody Marks being the most attractive at 53% rostered, while others like Tyson and Bernard require higher bids in deeper leagues.
Waiver claims should be aggressive for desperate leagues, especially in 12–16 team formats, where availability is limited and depth is thin.
Injury reports, including Quinchon Judkins and Debo Samuel, create potential for short-term value in waiver markets.
The overall waiver week is described as "squirrely" and unpredictable, dominated by a few high-value targets with low availability across most leagues.
Summary:
FAQs
Woody Marks is the top running back available on waivers. He has a 53% roster percentage and is expected to carry a significant workload due to David Montgomery's injury. He’s shown improved performance this season, including better pass-catching ability and stronger stats on key plays, making him a valuable RB2 option, especially in shallow or deep leagues.
Woody Marks is less likely to be available in deep leagues (12-14 team) due to the scarcity of available running backs and the higher depth of those leagues. He’s more likely to be available in shallow leagues where teams have less depth and are more likely to waive a backup running back.
Kendrick Miller, Damien Pierce, and Julio McLaughlin are among the other names worth considering. Miller has limited touches and is in a weak offensive line situation, Pierce has minimal workload, and McLaughlin could be a target if key players like Quinchon Judkins or Raheem Sanders are injured.
For a desperate running back need, fans should consider spending up to 25–30% on Woody Marks. This is especially true for 10-team leagues or in situations where depth is lacking, though it’s not recommended to over-invest given the risk of limited availability.
Yes, Jeremy Bernard and Jordan Tyson are top wide receiver targets. Bernard is available due to his strong performance with Aaron Rogers and potential matchup value, while Tyson may return as early as Week 7 after a hamstring injury, making him a valuable pick in shallow leagues.
Jordan Tyson offers the best value for shallow leagues. With a 49% roster percentage and a potential return from IR, he has high upside and is likely to be available in leagues where depth is limited, especially given the Saints’ offensive pace and his status as a top-10 draft pick.
