Week 5 Winners & Losers: Biggest Takeaways From Every Game! (10/11 Fantasy Football Podcast)
73m 8s
Week 5 was one of the most scoring and unpredictable fantasy football weeks, with 11 players reaching 30+ fantasy points—up from just seven the previous week. Drake May dominated as the top fantasy performer, posting 47.5 points in a spectacular outing, and was recognized as the biggest winner. Conversely, Chase Brown struggled with minimal carries, a fumble, and a lack of targets, leading to a major fantasy loss despite being a talented player. Jaden Daniels, returning from injury, delivered a strong 32.3-point game, while Oli Gordon showed significant promise as a reliable running back. Multiple teams faced injury setbacks—highlighted by the Bears’ offensive collapse, the Eagles’ injury toll, and poor performances from Jalen Waddle and Josh Downs—creating value opportunities on the waiver wire. The Dolphins’ poor defense allowed for high-scoring games, while the Packers’ strong defense stifled several offenses. Tight ends like Malik Willis and Jalen Warren emerged as consistent performers, with Warren especially notable for his all-around contributions. The week underscored the importance of depth, injury risks, and matchup analysis. Fantasy managers were advised to hold onto healthy, high-volume players like Daniels, Gordon, and likely, while staying cautious about overvaluing injured or inconsistent performers. The schedule for the coming weeks, with several teams playing on the road against strong defenses, suggests that fantasy success will depend on adaptability and timely roster adjustments.
This is Fantasy Football today from CBS Sports. What a play! Can you believe this? It's a no again. It's time to dominate your fantasy league. To the races, play states, play states, play states, play states, play states, play states. Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath. Sunday night recap of Week 5. A lot of scoring. Game of the Week was a hit. Everyone loves that. And here we are, break it down to the games. What was the game of the week? Oh, the Seahawks 49ers, of course. Yes. Very good. Dave sort of ruined take. Oh, sure. Blame me. No, no, I don't know. I'm happy. I was going to do Bill's Rams, but they worked out. All right. And you should have done both. Top five scores. Go. Any position. Drink, mate. Yeah. You drink, mate. He's got to be up there. Jargolf's got to be up there. Christian Watson's got to be up there. Jaylen Warren. Jamira Gibbs. Yup. Those guys should be up there. You nailed them. There are two others. Joe Burrow and Isaiah likely are basically tied with mindset. They likely. I don't know who who had it in non decimal, but in decimal, they're tied at 32 points. Very good. Jamis Winston with 31, Bucky Irving, 31, Jaden Daniels, 31. Parker Washington, 30. How many? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, 11, 30 point scores this week at all positions with Sunday night and Monday night still to play. How does that compare to last week? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Seven last week and we had two teams on buy. This was a much better fantasy week, much more fun. I hope this whole show is you counting things. Okay. Let's count to one winner. He's who's the biggest winner from fantasy week five. Mike is no longer dismayed. I would like to officially nominate QB1 Drake May for the LOL. Remember when we were worried about him award. Drake May was spectacular. He's running. He's throwing. Doesn't even need Romeo Dubs. Awesome, awesome fantasy day for him. And maybe more importantly, he's one week closer to getting AJ Brownback. Second career, 300 yard game for him. He's been QB1, and this is obviously pending Monday night and Sunday night, but really Monday night. QB1 back to back weeks. Yeah, pretty good. He looks great. It is help that he just isn't really facing a lot of past rush pressure. That was the one thing that I was a little bit worried about from him against the Raiders, but he crushed them. He crushed them. And when you look at his schedule, I don't know how many defenses are in front of him now that are going to put a lot of pressure on him. He's playing great. It's buyback all the way in time. Okay. Well, Dave, if that was the biggest winner, who is the biggest loser? We got to talk about Chase Brown. Yeah. He has 12 plus PPR points in one of his last four games. It's that sound right? It sounds right to me. No touchdowns in those games. His unofficial snap rate today was 60%. That's low. His schedule coming up isn't so great. I am hoping, but this is just strictly hope that the Bengals go into their buy and say we need to get him going. We need to get our run game going. But those might be two separate conversations. They might say that they want to get their run game going and not necessarily put it all on Chase Brown. We got away with one last week because of all the targets in the catches, and he's still at a few targets and catches today against Miami. But this is Miami. This was supposed to be the game that he would go off and have huge numbers in. And we would say, all right, all's well in the world. Chase Brown's a man. 13 carries, 39 yards, his longest run with seven yards. He really just did not have a ton of room. And he didn't even have the most carries on his team. It's a major p-run at one more. I think you have to lower expectations now for Chase Brown. Jamie, how do you feel about that? Chase Brown also had a fumble. At the time of the fumble, he had six carries. P-Rion had four. You didn't even mention that. Yeah, and after that, P-Rion got some work. I don't know. This is a terrible day for a guy who was 100% started. Chase Brown. Should have been a layup. I mean, Dolphins' run defense has been absolutely atrocious for the majority of the season so far. So, you know, I mean, look, you don't have to worry about starting him next week. So you had a reprieve if he's been, you know, killing your fantasy team. I still think there's a by-low opportunity here because he's so talented in placing this offense. And when they're healthy, they're going to score points. And so this is just one of those games where Joe Borough, you know, it was some stupid touchdowns in terms of micaseki. Some Ajay P-Rion and Tanner Hudson with the first three scores for them. So there's reason to be concerned. There's also reason to, you know, want to still have this guy on your team. What are the reasons to still have this guy on your team? I, again, very talented offense, very talented player. You, you saw the catch potential last week and I know it was because of the injuries the Y receiver, but there's always going to be those, those type of games and they're chasing points and they're throwing the ball a lot that he's going to be involved catching the ball more so than he was today. I don't know. I mean, if somebody's selling chase ban, I'm still buying. Now listen, Joe Borough wasn't playing for much of the beginning of last year, but he didn't score more than 13.1 fantasy points in any of his first seven games last season. And then it took off. Chase Brown, in case anyone missed that, I know we had a weird audio thing. Didn't score more than 13.1 PPR fantasy points in any of his first seven games. And then he just went berserk. So hopefully he could pick it up. Now you say the Dolphins defense is really bad. They give up a lot of fantasy points, but coming into the game, they were only allowing 4.1 yards per carry to running backs. And so far he has face teams that are allowing 3.4, 3.5, 4.1, 2.5, and 4.0 yards per carry to running backs. So the schedule hasn't been as good as it might look on paper, but still he should have been able to do more against the Dolphins. And would you like to know who he's playing after the buy? Yes, he has Baltimore, Tennessee, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Washington. There's some good matchups, some bad matchups. He should be basically matchup proof if they throw to him enough, but they're not. I mean, it's three or fewer catches in three or five games. And then the one game with 11. You said something this morning in regards to say Juan Barclay, if we were redrafting him, we'd draft Barclay at this point knowing what we know. It's the same thing with Chase Brown. He would be more of a third round pick at this point than anything else. And I think the three guys that are in that range that, you know, if you're looking at it with him, are in Hampton. Like, you're not drafting any of those three guys. Chase Brown saw say Juan Barclay or Hampton in the first two rounds. Yeah. All right. Well, that was the biggest winner from Heath, the biggest loser from Dave. Jamie, who is the biggest tie today? Well, I mean, if you want me to tell you the player that has a winner from a fantasy perspective, it's the guy who tied with the stupidest play at the end of the game. And that's Jane Daniels. Look, we were worried what he was going to do physically and not having Stefan Diggs and not having a hundred percent of Terry McClure. And the rushing was there, which is what we're hoping to see from him. The majority of the time when he's on the field that he's, we know he's capable of that. He's not going to do that on a weekly basis, but that's the reason why we love him as a fantasy quarterback. So stupid decision at the end of the game from a reality perspective. But great to see Jane Daniels not afraid to use his legs and run and be a dominant rusher at that position. Okay. NFL memes with the tweet. tweet of the year. Jaden Daniels thought the clock would stop at five seconds out of respect for him. That is so funny. And that was just a wild sequence and then the Eagles Jaguar's game was insane. How did they win that game? How did they lose that game? The Syrian is a moron. Yeah, he took a responsibility. He said he should kick the ball out about did the Jaguar. Yeah, it's time. No poop. Huh? Did they have any time? Yeah, no time. No, none. Yeah, so you kick the ball out of bounds. It goes to the 40. It's not that unrealistic for them to get into Cam little's field goal range. They're 10 yards away from being able. I don't know that it was the wrong decision. You don't let him get a chance. He said he should have kicked it out of bounds. I don't know if they could have kicked it in the end zone. I don't know if they often kick it in the end zone. But or like through the end zone. But he said he should have kicked it out of bounds. But that, that I don't think would have been a great solution either. Unbelievable. All right. News and notes. Caleb Williams could be back next week. We'll Shipley left in the second quarter with an injury. They got Carolina next week. We don't know if it'll be safe. We'll embarkly back. If Shipley will be back. If it'll be Damien Pierce. Quinshaw and Junkins was apparently in a walking boot and Rahim Sanders left with the hip injury as well. They get Baltimore next week. David Montgomery left with a groin injury. Woody Marks had a lot of work today. They get the Jaguars next week. The toughest run defense in football. Aaron Jones left. But then he returned. Travian Henderson left. And Dave is going to talk about Ramondra Stevenson as a winner a little bit later. I think you can make the case even if Henderson hadn't left Stevenson a winner. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, the Texans acquired Marvin Harrison Jr. Heath. What do we think about this? Or they are going to acquire him? Um, you know, I think if you have him on your dynasty roster, it gives you some reason for hope. Perhaps this coaching staff will unlock something in him. Use him in some way that it wasn't going to get any better in Arizona. So hopefully that does here. He's reunited with CJ Stroud. That's about the most positive thing that we could say right now. And he's on a team that's like normally you would think he's going to the Texans. Well, they just play defense and run. They can't run at all. So you're going to get 35% play defense. Yeah. Um, do you think, uh, you don't have any effect on Nico Collins? No. I hope not. It'd be weird if it did. There's just so many guys. There's so many guys in that two through six spot that they have on the roster. It's just frustrating. Yeah.
All right. I think it's a little weird that they did it. We'll talk about it later. It's not applicable to fantasy. Meanwhile, CJ Stroud, three games with Nico Collins, more than 20 fantasy points and all three. So don't overlook him. And Debo Samuel left with a hamstring injury in the third quarter. He was immediately rolled out. As was Casey Concepcion, it took a big hit to the head in the first quarter. TJ Hockinson, unfortunately, he left in the first quarter, and they get a buy this week. So hopefully he can come back. I think it's a concussion for Hockinson. It is. Yes. So he should be back again. Well, you don't never say that, but hopefully back in two weeks against the Colts. The Dalton should the Dalton should come back. Or did he just get hurt? He got hurt. All right. What should I look at that? I'm looking at it right now. He played 32 snaps. So about half the snap. So I would imagine that something happened. I say he played into the now. He was on the field for the last play of the game. It was a kneel down. He was there. Okay. Isaiah likely left in the fourth quarter in overtime. Overtoned off. So that he had a huge game. Hopefully back next week for the Saints and against the Saints. And Kenyan Siddyk left with a head injury. They're at New England next week. There are a lot of offensive line things to know about. Left tackle, Anton Harrison for the Jaguars. Left tackle, Will Campbell for the Patriots. Right tackle. Titus Howard for the Browns. Right tackle, Jameen Erluminor for the Giants. They all left with injuries on defense. The Chicago Bears had a lot of injuries. We don't know if it was maybe because they left because of the score, but four defensive players for the Bears got hurt and they get the pack of Falcons on the road next week. They lost the Packers. They're at the Falcons next week. The Bengals got a little banged up. They're going in their buy. The Eagles got a little banged up. They get the Panthers. And there was one other team that got seriously, the Patriots maybe. I don't know. But the Bears are the big one. Yeah. They lost some players early. Look at the waiver wire, Jamie. The born identity waiver wire. Who are we looking at on the waiver wire? Yeah. Kendrick Bourne is probably going to be the lead receiver to go get. Kamani Vidal running back was one that stood out. Obviously Damien Pierce. If there is no Barclay or Shipley, three quarterbacks, I think made the list so far. Aaron Rodgers has just been great. Jacobi, not Jacobi, sorry, excuse me. James Winston coming off another strong game as well. And I would still look at Kirk Cousins. The easier match up next week at home against Buffalo by comparison going on the road to play New England. So there'll be some injury guys that we look at, again, from the Eagles backfield. And then try the any tight ends that stood out that you should go get. Hunter Henry, a nice guy. Henry was one. He's every week is going to be like, oh, Hunter Henry, oh, yeah, that same group of guys like Dalton Schultz and Hunter Henry. And this week was Hawkinson, you know, Gaseki, you want to go back to him just because it touched down. Oh, Brian Strange. He's been playing well in Pat Frymouth. Oh, Jeremy Bernard was another receiver with Roman Wilson getting hurt. All right, I didn't mention the targets. Yeah, go ahead. The current tied in four and fantasy points per game is available in 100% of leaks. I don't think I know how to pronounce his name. Oh, the car. Oh, Tegan, Kiti Oro. No, Quitorano, Quitorano, Quitorano, Quintarantino of the Cardinals. Tegan, um, 20, if CD Lam is banged up, Jake Ferguson and Ryan Flanoi will see what his injury is, but obviously those two guys will benefit as well. You're joking about Quitoriano, right? Of course. Yeah. But Roman Wilson did leave and I forgot to mention that. All right, we're going to get into some winners. Let's do one right now. Let's get into the post-pounding performances brought to you by Woop, the wearable device that gives you personalized insights into your sleep recovery, your strain, and how daily choices may be influencing your overall well-being. I think I just saw who heaths Woop, uh, just a moment ago. And if you want to learn more, head to join.woop.com/fft and it's spelled W-H-O-O-P. Heath, give me your two winners. I already gave you one of them, so I'm just going to give you one more. And that's Oli Gordon. Another fantastic performance, apparently, he's just going to be better for fantasy than Devon H.N., which makes perfect sense. Didn't do anything in the passing game. This was a terrible performance from the Dolphins offense for most of the game. But I think if nothing else, if you spent all that fab on Oli Gordon, you got two great weeks and now you have a legitimate cell candidate if you don't believe in it. Like, people might actually give you something for Oli Gordon. And you might just want to keep starting them. Would you take chase Brown for Oli Gordon? Oh, I 100% take chase Brown. Would you have an action genty then I assume as well? Yes. Yeah. Dolphins have had eight snaps inside the five in their last two games. Big turnaround from the first three weeks of the season. Adam thought you were making fun of them. This is a positive trend. No, no, no, no, no. It's huge. It's wild. It's amazing. Good for them. Yeah. And he's he isn't catching passes, but he's getting so much work. So that's good. You can hold them or like he said, you can try to sell high. By the way, your other sell your other winner was Drake May. So you got we got an email from Mike. Oh, good. Yeah. And he said, we owe. So he is still this made he is still this made now. Mike is a guy who had a bet with Heath last year. A Drake May bet. He was offended at Drake race. Drake May's preseason ranking from Heath. So they made a bet. They donated money to St. Jude. Nobody had a girl beard. And he emailed us again. He gave us something really cool that I'm going to show you after the break. We'll be right back to see what we have to do for Drake May and some more winners and losers from week five. Drake May scores 47.5 fantasy points. And we get an email that says, no, where do I go? Got me? Did you lose me? We hear you. Okay. Sorry. Drake May has this amazing performance and we get an email from Mike that says the Patriots started one and two last year. But you guys put Drake May on the worryometer two weeks ago. You had the audacity to rank him ninth this week. Please have the crew fill out the attached form and send it to me by Tuesday. So here is the Drake May apology form. And God, I'm having so many internet issues here. Reason for behavior. Why were you mean to Drake May? The media convinced me he was a bust. I didn't watch the actual games. I don't know ball. I thought he wouldn't bounce back from the Super Bowl. I was jealous of Drake May. Or I thought Drake May lover, which is Mike was delusional. And I hear by respect Drake May going forward. So you have to fill this out, guys. That's great. It's really good. The reason that we ranked him so low is not on there. It was because he kept giving the ball to the other team and looked completely lost. But I'm glad he's figured out he was awesome today. And it's good to have him back. It is. It is absolutely. Okay. Dave's winners are Ramondra Stevenson and Woody Marx two guys who had their backfield teammate get hurt. Yeah. Kind of easy to put them together and call them winners. Because of that, we don't know what the long term prognosis is for their backfield mates. But even if their backfield mates were back, I would still say that they're winners. Let's start with Ramondra started in 48% of leagues. That number's going up 4.9 yards per carry three catches had to touch down his schedule. Moving forward next seven games. There's a buy in there. But it's Jets Bear, Stolphin's Packers, Lions, Chargers, Bills. I love this schedule. And we know he's going to be the passing down his back. We know he's going to be the goal line back. As long as he holds on to the football, he should be good to go as a regular starter as a number two fantasy running back moving forward. He could even be a top 12 running back. If there is no trade down Anderson, maybe even top 10. Let's get crazy. Woody Marx has only started in 14% of leagues. He finally had some efficiency. Finally, a Texans running back with efficiency 4.1 yards per carry. He had four catches. We know that he can play and passing down and we're going to see him continue to get those check down throws. He held up decently as the lead running back with Montgomery sideline. His schedule is tougher. He's got Jack Smill next week. But even if Mati's out or especially if Mati's out, you're still going to go with Marx because he's going to get a lot of work. They've got the giants after that, then a buy than the Chargers after. It's not really that great of a schedule. The schedule lean is much better for a moderate than Woody. But at least Woody Marx, if you've got him on your team, the floor is a buy week running back. And the ceiling is a low end number two fantasy running back in half and full PPR. And maybe something gets going here with him because he's had a little bit more juice than Montgomery. Really all season long. What's your favorite juice? Apple, orange, prune, get you prune. Well, how do you think I am? Put me down for orange. Jamie Heath. Happy to favorite juice? Yeah. Eliminate count? No. It's not a juice. There's a difference between lemon juice and lemonade. Does fruit pie count? Yeah, it's multiple fruits. Fine. Okay, Heath, your answer. I like a nice cherry juice. What's not a thing? Yeah, I do 100% of the thing. We always have multiple containers of cherry juice in our refrigerator. Oh, I thought he was going to name his favorite beer. I thought he was going to say like, oh, burnt ends. Would you rather have Ramajra Ramajra Stevenson or Ali Gordon rest of season? Ramajra, I agree. We're just going to continue to take a beating at the hands of Ali Gordon, but Ramajra is who I'll take. Jamie, Braylon Allen and Jayden Daniels were your winners. Braylon Allen was awesome today. He did fumble. He had a drop as well. But the conditions were not great. But 24
carries 116 yards and a touchdown and Jaden Daniel scored 32.3 fantasy points against the Giants. Yeah, just to recap Daniel's the fact that he was running in this weather was great to see with the first game back from his elbow injury. So aside from the brain fart at the end of the game, I think there's still plenty of reasons to want to start. Jaden Daniel's rest of season as long as he's healthy. You should still continue to carry a backup quarterback because of the risk of injury for him. And again, did this without the fond digs and a less than 100% of Terry McCorn for Braille and Alan. I think as long as there is no brief haul, you're going to start Braille and Alan as worst case scenario number two running back and maybe a borderline number one guy if he continues to get this amount of work. So you'd like to see a little bit more involvement in the passing game. I just don't know if there's going to be his profile. But you know, to me, this is just a better version of what you're getting from Ollie Gordon, just based on how he's going to run in the offense. So are you at all concerned about Breeze Hall when he comes back with how well Braille and Alan is played? He's not bad last week either. Slightly. I think, you know, just going back to the off season and Dave did a good job illustrating this a lot about Frank Rex history and what Aaron Glenn wants to do is to use multiple running backs. I'm going to guess short term. It would be more Braille and Alan than we want to see long term. Hopefully Breeze Hall is, you know, the featured guy to the level that we need him to be. But I think that Braille and Alan and Breeze Hall can both coexist as long as Breeze Hall is getting the work in the passing game. That seems to be something that he had before the injury and should have once again. Jets schedules really nice moving forward too. If you can, I don't think you can really buy low on Breeze Hall, but maybe someone's got Breeze on their bench and their desperate for guys who they can win with now. And if Breeze is out next week, I would try and make the move for him. Well, thank you to Woop for sponsoring this week's pulse pounding performances with Woop. Well, can you just as as Giants fan take us through the end of that game? It's not going to be that exciting from my perspective because I was doing my notes like once the one o'clock games end, I start doing the notes. So I had the game on my laptop and I'm doing my notes on my other laptop when I obviously thought that we're going to win. It's got to be fumbled and I was just like, this is ridiculous game. Remember, they were down 14 in the fourth quarter. So a tie, I would've settled for a tie then. And then they could drive down the field and I'm resigned to my fate. But I wasn't really paying attention just like Jaden Daniels at the end there. I didn't realize what was going on. And nobody did until like three seconds left. They were like, I don't every time else. So I mean, I got my Dan Schneier and one other guy group text and it just didn't seem like it was a Giants day. They are so lucky to get that tie. So lucky. And yeah, I don't really have much to say. It was just everything he's working out for you like the Cowboys lost Thursday. The way that he goes lost the last three Giants games, two interceptions in the end zone on like the final play of the game. And that, I mean, it's just they've had such bad luck for so many years as like finally coming around, I guess, but they stink. Any of those four teams could win the division, you know, like I've been saying, but the Giants stink. They have to be Saints next week or it's over. They're not going to beat any good teams. And Tyler Shuck couldn't be the good team today. The Vikings are five and no anytime you have a player going up against the Vikings at the possibility for them to just kill your lineup as they are Jamie. And he had negative points to fantasy points today. So Tyler Shuck is one of your losers and Jalen Waddle. Oh, you know, Davis Web is a winner today, by the way, just to say that. But I think Bonix just a big loser across the board. Tyler Shuck, you got to keep an eye on this left hand injury that he's dealing with that, you know, might contribute to some uncomfortable performances for him. But yes, this was Minnesota. You know, we were concerned going into this game that he would struggle. And it was worse than we ever imagined. So hopefully he bounces back next week's a much better matchup, much easier opponent. We've seen what the Giants defense has allowed to a lot of quarterbacks already this season. So hopefully there's an opportunity here for Shuck to look like the quarterback that we know he's capable of being. And you should go right back to him as a starting option for Jalen Waddle. I think it's just we have to consider him as a number three fantasy receiver at best until he starts to show some more consistent performances. This was just awful. You know, the fact that he just couldn't get opportunities. And, you know, forget about Pat Brian. I don't think that was ever going to be like, Oh, Pat Brian's out. Now this is going to be what saves Jim Waddle. I was under the hope that Sean Peyton taking over. You made the big aggressive move to get this guy feature him. And I just don't think Bonix is capable of making anybody look that great. You know, so at this point, I'm hoping he could just be what Portland Sutton has been the last two years, which has been a borderline number two number three receiver. I think Jalen is having a breakout season still within their own possibility, but just hard to count on. Would you rather have a rest of season Michael Wilson? Michael Wilson. Michael Wilson schedule gets really hard. Don't care. He didn't even do that well today against the lines. I can't he's on the right team. I'd rather Michael Wilson than Jalen Waddle. And you'd feel that way of Carson Beck with a quarterback for errors on a two, right? Probably. No. I don't know of Carson Beck could be worse than Bonix. We know. So like the way Bonix is playing now, but we've seen two years of Bonix being fine. He's fine. I didn't think he's good, but he's had a half this year where he's look good. He's struggling. He's struggling. And I thought maybe being down seven points in the second half to the chargers in week five could get him fired up. Nope. They still found a way to win it. It was a touchdown. It was a good touchdown throw. Nice post route there. I think it was a post route to to Portland Sutton. It was a bullet. That's for sure. And then two field goals. Dave, do you agree? Michael Wilson over Jalen Waddle rest of season? Yeah. I mean, I'm taking the L for Waddle for sure. You know how excited I was about him this year, but part of it was predicated on Bonix taking a step forward. And he's taken two steps back because opposites attract. And wait your hands like a maniac. Whenever I hear two steps back, I think of the Transylvania two step plus it's October. You know, but who was Dave floating? I don't know. Opposite. What? Yeah. I don't know. I chattel it. You know, chattel it. I'll let you know. Willie Nelson. That's one of the one of the one of the one of the really really memorable music videos. Yes. Of our, I guess childhood. But Adam was like a super child back then. You know, the old pair may have never put on MTV. I like being the one who gives the references. Dave's losers are Chase Brown and the Chicago Bears who scored seven points. But Paula Abdul. Oh, opposites attract. So can we just forget? Can we just throw this out the window for the Bears since they're probably getting Caleb next week? Oh, great. You remember what it was like when Caleb was the quarterback in the first two weeks of the season? Week one, they put up a ton of points. How did Odoons? I do. How did Burden do? How did Loveland do? I'm going to be sick, man. I loved one was another guy. Everybody was excited about him. And last week, double digit PPR points were thinking, okay, he's turning the corner. There's Bears Offences playing on time. And then they run into the machine that is the Green Bay Packers defense. And just a total mess. Beijing got benched. Case Kingdom wasn't particularly good either. And Romo Dunes had nine targets, three catches, a fumble. Burden was getting just a bunch of short throws. They had one nice play, a 23 yard catch, but just it's ugly. And now you're going to ask Caleb, William's come in. And yeah, I think Caleb is still great as a fantasy quarterback. But you know what he's going to do, Adam? He's going to hold the ball and move all over the place. And you know, I don't know if there's anything that you can really set your watch to with this Bears offense. They've got so many guys that can contribute. And when things are going right, maybe two of them do. Maybe. And I'm talking about the passing. The run game, I think, is a lot easier to kind of predict what's going to happen. Aren't they central time, Dave? Yes. Thank you. Well, when they're at home anyway. Anyway, 246 total net yards, they allowed four sacks. Just 10 of 40 throws were quick throws. That tells me that things were going on that weren't jiving with what they were doing last week. You've got to give credit to the Packers defense for stepping up this week. It's now time for heaths losers. Dave's were the Bears and Chase Brown, heaths, losers, or Josh Downes, 51% started out targeted by Keener now. And RJ Harvey, one target no catches. Thanks John set that in before the half was over. So you're like just the Harvey's done because early in that game, it was Tyler Bade playing on passing downs. And it was RJ Harvey. I think he had in the third quarter two carries for six yards. Just a complete lack of involvement played 35% of the snaps at a season low, 4% target share, only a 7% target per route run when he was at like 40% for the season. Just an absolute Sean Payton middle finger to the RJ Harvey fantasy managers can RJ himself apparently and disaster on that front. It's it's so discouraging for Josh Downs.
I think everybody that I know that evaluates talent at Wide Receiver thinks Josh Downes is so much better than he ever produces. And Keenan Freaken Allen comes back and out targets him. And this is what Keenan Allen has been doing. The last two years of his career is not being good at producing yards or fantasy points, but still getting a bunch of targets and ruining young Wide Receivers that we like. And he did it again. And even when he wasn't there, it was kind of spotty from Josh Downes and Daniel Jones looks awful. And so, yeah, I guess he's a number three wide receiver who could have a 15 point spike week. Yeah. And I think what's so discouraging is that you actually got 267 passing yards and 44 attempts from Daniel Jones. And after two straight weeks with a 30% target share of better, you got 14% target share of two straight weeks now for Josh Downes. And I think like he's fun because he gets open, he kills defenders and stuff like that, but he's still really small. He doesn't do much on the outside. I don't think he's making a bunch of contested catches. So from the top. They just have three guys that do the same thing. Well, yeah. I mean, he does it better than Keenan Allen, but yeah, I don't know. I don't think he was ever going to become like a star, you know, I don't know, mate, that just me, but. Well, no, I, but we thought he was going to be a number two wide receiver. Yeah. And if he was going to become a star, it would be because they traded away the one wide receiver in front of him. And the other one had a chronic injury, he kept him out, it just didn't like him, everything was there. You're going to still hold them, though, right? Don't drop Josh Downes. No, not a 12 team league and a 10 team league, I probably would. You could talk me into dropping them in a half PPR or a non-PPR. He's definitely jobable, non-PPR. Yeah. Yeah. All right, some, some goal line stuff before he got hurt, well, Shipley got a goal line touchdown. If you were paying attention this morning on the noon show, no, on the, on the eight thirty and nine thirty show, I definitely was, had a hissy fit when that happened. So, um, I thought of you when it happened and kind of giggle, giggle a little. It was not good. It was embarrassing. You had a hissy fit. Yeah. I was so certain that will Shipley was not going to have a good game. And, and then there was a stupid passenger appearance penalty that set them up. I, right? And as well. And we had a, like, an entire segment on the eight thirty show, Jamie, where Adam talked about how he didn't want to start Will Shipley. So he was going to pick up Ken, Dirk Bourne to start over him. Yeah. Um, and so like, he really, he'd put himself out there and it ended up, Will Shipley got hurt and it worked. Yeah. I didn't want Will Shipley to get hurt. But I just, you know, it's just so frustrating. Anyway, uh, Ramanjai Stevenson, goal line, Chris Rodriguez was in at the goal line a lot. Basel Tutten got a jet sweep at the goal line where a play where Chris Rodriguez was also in. But I think it's pretty clear they're both going to be used. But Rodriguez might be preferred. Kendrick Miller had a goal line touchdown. That was weird. Alvin Camaro. I got like no work in this game. Kendrick Miller was their guy and he scored at the goal line. He was hurt though. So. Yeah. There was some speculation that he wasn't at a hundred percent that something happened in the game. It was a sideline. He played into the fourth quarter. But something might have happened there for Camaro. And this is a bad day for Camp Scataboo, even before the fumble. He ended up with a decent stat line thanks to overtime. But Najee Harris was in at the goal line and Scataboo just couldn't get anything going and that run game is struggling. A lot of almost touchdowns, but I think you'd rather hear us recap the game. But for those of you frustrated with Almanra St. Brown, he almost had a touchdown. Ali Gordon knows. Yeah. Yeah. Ali Gordon had a second touchdown overturned. Well, the neighbors had like three almost touchdowns and one real one. DK Meccaff drew a defensive penalty, defensive pass interference in the end zone on the next play. Pat Fremius scored. I'm going to come back and talk about Jacksonville and Philadelphia. That's our first game. We'll look at all the Sunday action when we come back on fantasy football today. So the Eagles lose a heartbreaker, Jacksonville, 19 Philadelphia, 17. But the Eagles only had the ball for 25 minutes and they threw 40 passes. Jamie, do you think this might be closer to the new normal or do you at least we'll see a more pass heavy team even when Barclay comes back because this team, well, I guess they ran it decently with Barclay, but do you think we'll see more passes than usual from Jalen Hertz? Or do you think there's just kind of a one off? I think it's kind of a one off, no Barclay, no Biggs B, Shipply gets her, you're pointing against Jaguars, it's just, you know, why would you try to run into the strength of that defense as opposed to at least maybe trying to have some plays in the passing game where teams have had more success doing that now granted they're doing that also without Devonte Smith on the field. So it was just kind of I think see what works and maybe they felt comfortable enough with putting the ball more so in Jalen Hertz and then in Damien Pierce's hands, which would make sense. I would not be expecting it to continue like that. One Barclay is there because one Barclay is there, he will be their best player, at least if he's 100%. So hopefully we get a healthy sake one Barclay next week and we don't have to deal with Damien Pierce. All right. Adam, we talked about it this morning by the Eagles right now. Well, I think we had a consensus on that but we've a comment up here about this upcoming schedule and I think that's what you want to highlight. Carolina, Dallas, Washington, New York Giants over the next month. Yeah, but I've already made the point that they have struggled against Tennessee, Chicago and the Giants. That's true, but they're also going to I think going to get healthy the next month. I hope so. I think they're healthy is a different healthy now because of the offensive line changes. So I, you know, I thought they held up much better than I expected in this game given Jacksonville defense, but what will they look like when they're healthy and what will their situation be meaning like where are they out as a team at that point because it's just it's going to get ugly moving forward with what Suryani did today and the pressure that usually come from that city and on that team and so how will they respond they've weathered a bunch of storms the last couple of years when things have gone through, you know, gone the negative route. So hopefully they continue to do that and and hurts can get right and Smith gets healthy and it's good to see God are back out there and have a great day today, but know that they find something in Darius Cooper, you know, that they could that this could be a threat for them to at least give them something consistent on the other side from at least maybe a touchdown perspective because on Tavine Wicks has disappeared the last two games he could have had a huge game today. You missed the jailhards, miss them on a big throw. So it's going to be I think just a work in progress, but really the the thing I would like to see is Barclay and Smith on the field because you're right Heath, the schedule is going to be very favorable for them. Dave, what are your thoughts on the Jaguars coming out of this game? Anything earth shattering? No, Parker Washington's a stud. We were worried about him for the last couple of weeks really after last week and it came out right away first quarter, 51 yard touchdown and then really got Jacksonville back into this game with a 27 yard touchdown. That was just an awesome throw, awesome catch by him. Brenn Strange, Jamie talked about it that somebody to consider off the waiver wire. And Tutton got a ton of work. He just wasn't efficient with it when I wrote in my notes so many times burst with Tutton. When you watch him, you see it, but it's not he just hasn't been able to live up to maybe the ceiling expectation of what we had for him. I still think he's going to be a number two fantasy running back. And I wish he had more targets, three targets in this game, two catches that actually helped you out a little bit. It got in a double digit BPR points anyway. I like Tutton and I wonder if he's going to he's already got a grip on the the running back workload. I just wonder how much more he needs to do to kind of push Chris Rodriguez off to the side. Well, who has more PPR fantasy points per game, Basel Tutton or Chase Brown Tutton. Chase Brown. I feel like Chase Brown. Chase Brown. Well, but chase Brown is at 13 Basel Tutton's at 12 point seven. Yeah. The two touchdowns called back last week don't count for Basel Tutton. So Tutton, look, he has Houston this upcoming week. That could be tough. They have a great one defense. Then he has a buy. If he struggles after the Houston game going into his buy and you believe in Basel Tutton, he's got Dallas and Washington in week 16 and 17. I mean, you don't have to look at the schedule. If you believe in him, that might be a time we'll revisit it, but that might be a good time to go get him. All right. Let's go to our next game here. It is Green Bay 31 Chicago seven. Dave already talked about Green Bay. Heath. What do you think about March on Lloyd who had two touchdowns today and you can see Caleb Johnson had seven carries, but all of them were in garbage time. Is March on Lloyd? He's only 58% roster. Is he a thing until Jacob's comes back? Well, he certainly is going to have to be in the waiver wire. Yeah. It's somebody that we're going to have to talk about. I think Pierre Strong did kind of fill the Chris Brooks snaps. He did. It still may be a three headed backfield. This Packer's offense has been one of the bigger roller coasters of the season and Dallas next week, then Detroit, then Carolina. Yeah. We may want to start March on Lloyd. Okay. Remember, they're still working in some new offensive line, but not a desired play today. I think I'll actually, but yeah, they're hoping we get better on the line. Maybe they'll get our own banks back at some point. I played and start. They're one of the few teams that consistently challenge down the field. It's fun. They just take shot after shot after shot and you saw it with Watson today, saw it.
Golden like that that's going to help you know Jordan love have some big games you know to his point about them being a rollercoaster. I just I hope it continues you know I I don't think they're going to ever become a good running TV when Jacobs is there like they're not going to go back to being as good as they were with this offensive line but they could certainly be better with a better running back that being said Marson Lloyd is probably a winner coming out of this game with the production that he got you in the first game of that Brooks Giants and the commanders tie at 27 their second tie in the last five years I think it's weird and my question is you got Jamis Winston here was the 326 yard three touchdown game that was inevitable right 32 almost 32 fantasy points for him. Jamis Winston and Malik neighbors with two great games in a row and is this the time to sell even maybe Malik neighbors are you just buying it or likely I mean likely injured mate perhaps we'll see but they got the Saints that's fine then add Houston then a buy then at Philadelphia and then it's kind of a mix of match with good and bad matchups but just hold them or sell them you think neighbors specifically. I think you hold excuse me I think you hold 20 targets is ridiculous I don't know how many times the Giants will be in a game where they're gonna run their way to victory and even though JJ McCarthy got in a few snaps in this game even at a couple of carries I think it's I think they're gonna live and die by Jamis and if they're doing that that means that two dudes are gonna get the ball thrown to them every single week a whole lot and it's gonna be neighbors and likely. Yeah he wasn't a very happy and vice-versa with Darnell Mooney they're exchanged on the sideline not that that has been a factor but still. Just when you see a team do it against Arizona and Washington and going to overtime against Washington you know you just wonder because I thought about the Giants after week. Yeah but Cowboys they've sucked the next two weeks. I think if you if you take off 10 points on both those guys on neighbors and likely like that's still awesome if you take 15 points off of likely like still still great like there's there they're they're gonna get hyper targeted and they're both playing very well with a quarterback that has no fear about challenging in tight spots and giving them opportunities to win. So if you're selling them you're selling them for I think I don't want to say superstars in the case of likely but yeah superstars like likely is in the conversation to be a top three tight end this season and neighbors is back to being a healthy hopefully healthy version of himself which is pretty awesome so I don't I don't think you should be trying to get rid of them unless you're getting something amazing in return. And it was actually an amazing second half for them like the first james was terrible in the first half he was 7-16 he had no touchdowns I have a right here 72 yards passing it was disgusting and then all of a sudden james did what james does and he just turned into like the best deep ball thrower ever and yeah it's Washington look at their schedule you tell me how many tough tough defense is pass rush plus secondaries they have left Houston's on their I know I just I mean yeah they have I was driving the point home at yeah but and then like look at the Washington schedule the Washington the next month for the commander sucks I mean it's it's at San Francisco then abide then the Eagles then the Rams and then it lightens up considerably they got Minnesota and Jacksonville in the in weeks 16 and 17 and they also have Houston later in the season like Washington schedule is not good I would take anything I can get for for jacority crosskey merit not anything I can get but I would take something for him yes and I don't know I wouldn't I wouldn't be so sure that jaden Daniels is gonna he didn't really do much as a passer today they had no downfield passing game they didn't have digs but whatever he did was McClure in a full go I saw him at 75% route rate I that almost felt I was kind of surprised yeah but he didn't have a good game I mean he didn't have that going to throw on the ball no and he doesn't with jaden Daniels I think the thing you got you got to continue to hold for for jaden Daniels is that there's not going to be a fear of risking a fear of re injury because of the elbow and so if he's gonna run that's a great sign and so yeah is he gonna you know be a dominant passer in the current state of his health and the current state of this team no my biggest fear would be is if they fall out of playoff contention do they just shut him down so like you know you're talking about the end of season schedule I don't know if they get there because of just how this this goes now you you said which I agree set up see yeah it's an MC you know so they could still stay in it but you know they're the one team at at least for me that feels like they're the least likely to win the division so I think just looking at it like McClure and Diggs will be number three receivers probably on a week-to-week basis Daniels will be in the sixth to 10 range you know depending on six points or four points unless he just continues to do this with his legs then he'll just you know keep creeping up but you kind of know what they are would you say you thought the pass rate was seven percent yeah yeah I'm seeing I'm seeing 80% so is in that same range and pretty much every single snap that McClure and played on well he played 34 snaps so about 55% snaps in the game almost all all but 10 were pass plays which makes sense fishing usage and I do think like take the passing game numbers a little bit of a grain of salt is because while this was an overtime game it was a Washington playing it safe they've got a lead game for a lot of the second half like he threw 25 passes he averaged almost eight yards per attempt it was a pretty good day passing efficiency look good he looked good right all right but it's just a giant suck anyway let's go to the first place giants so New England 45 Las Vegas 17 and we talked a lot about the Patriots here heath what's your level of concern for action genty 10 carriers or 27 yards three caches for 50 yards you know I think he might be that borderline top 12 running back they just always make sure a little bit nervous this is a bad matchup in terms of rushing not sure don't well I think we can be pretty sure he was not 100% coming into this game it seemed like I with I thought their response to that would be maybe give my Mike Washington a few more carries and save ashton genty for passing downs and they gave Dylan Loughby some passing downs and used ashton genty on more the rushing downs and that's not that's not good all but I mostly I still think he's a borderline top 12 running back rest of season I'd rather have him than chase brown or basal to would you rather have Brock Bowers or Justin Jefferson rest of season Bowers Bowers he's amazing it's great all right and that's the that's that game who's the number one 10 and rest of season yeah it's got to be Bowers Kirk Cousins said gotta be Bowers I mean I'm on Bowers side but I don't think it's gotta be I know I was the one screaming that it should be McBride so I think I'd lost that McBride McBride was pretty awesome too he had a garbage time and the Cardinals offense looks bad I mean this was the lot that that was sick though it was a sick it was sick he's averaging five Mark Bowers is averaging five and a half more PPR fantasy points per game than Tramock bread wow insane and McBride's been incredible yeah right Bradson really good after the game Kirk Cousins said the Patriots pressure was really the difference in this it was they got home they got to him fast all right Pittsburgh they'll bounce back they'll bounce back next week Buffalo's defense bet here you go Pittsburgh 34 Colts 22 believe it or not when Rico Dattles back Jalen Warren is a is better than Ashton Gentie rest of season believe it I think I believe it we have we we have on CBS Sports HQ JJ watt or Ross Tucker depending on the time of day does they hit with our crew our NFL crew and I happen to listen to JJ watt talking to Joe Mousel one of our hosts and Joe asked him you know how much of a difference maker is Jalen Warren's offense and this is after and Rodgers on the field talked about it as well with Tracy Wolfson the reason I bring up JJ watt is because he's in the meetings with the coaches pregame and he said he's just the key to their whole team at this point you know that it just it makes sense like their offense just looks much better he's been awesome he's been awesome in the passing game when given opportunities Aaron Rodgers was talking about he said he loves him as a teammate and he goes part of the reason why is because he just so unsolvable as a blocker like I you're going to have a role for Rico Dattles this isn't going to be what Jalen Warren gives you but like he's he's he should be their guy if they go away from him Mike McCarthy's an idiot yeah but comparing him to Ashen Gentie I mean that's you know that's just a very valuable player and Ashen Gentie does not have a rushing touchdown this year that crazy no everything he's doing is is through the air including in this game is most explosive plays we're through there he also had a drop on top of it I agree I think Warren is better than Gentie rest of season we've seen it now for several weeks were Warren is contributing every which way for the Steelers how do you take that guy off the field other than maybe like two drives before the fourth quarter combined and you want to give Rico a little bit of run so Rico is the handcuff for Jalen Warren Warren is a stud the targets are great for him to I don't I don't really think this is much of a question and Jalen Warren is healthier than Gentie it's a question I mean if he's just said that Ashen Gentie's a borderline top 12 running by a Gentie on my team and I could trade him straight up for Jalen
I would do it. All right. All right. Fine. And then Jamie, I know you had originally DK Meccaf as a loser. You switched it to Jalen Waddle. It's pretty disappointing that he wasn't able to get anything. He did drop pass interference in the end zone, but only four targets against the Colts with the way the Rogers played today, too. You know, so it was, you know, big play by Jalen Warren. It was a lot from Jeremy Bernard. It was bad for argument getting involved. And, you know, this was so three of five games. Now you've had DK Meccaf nine targets or more. He just needs a volume. And so I went panic too much if you're in the DK Meccaf camp. But this was just frustrating to see Rogers, great game. Everybody else do something and Meccaf do nothing. Next game is the Bengals and the Dolphins. The Dolphins always make it interesting. Don't they? But they always lose 31, 24 Bengals. Joe Burrow with 32.6 fantasy points. I don't know. 190 passing yards. We talked about Chase Brown. Jamar Chase was great again. Bad day for T Higgins. He was 88% started. And he played a lot, but he only had four targets and a tough day for him. I don't really know what else to say about this game. We talked about Ali Gordon. He thought about Malik Washington, led the team in receiving again in a day where Malik Willis finally had a good fantasy game. But what did he throw for? I threw for 137 yards. I don't know. Any thoughts? I think it's three straight games from Alik Washington between 11.1 and 12.1 or 13.1. Maybe in this one, 11.8. It's just kind of what you should expect. Maybe he'll score a touchdown one week and give you a 15 point game. I think with four teams going on a buy, he's going to be ranked as a PPR number three wide receiver. Not this week. Dolphins are one of the four next times there's four other teams on a buy. He will be. That's good recovery. I got to learn from you. I'm just curious what they look like when Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell are actually healthy. It's not going to make them a good team, but I wonder what just the receiving, how it's all sput up. Yeah. Who has more action, genty, receiving touchdowns or Malik Willis passing touchdowns? I'll go genty. Go genty. They're tied. Sorry. I shouldn't have done who has more, but it's the only way I could bring that up. They both have two. Second touchdown pass of the year for you. You have all people who are allowed to do a tie on who has more today. Houston 26, Tennessee three. This was a mismatch. We talked about marks, CJ Stroud. Just brush off the Nico Collins. I hope he's healthy. I don't think he finished the game at 100%. Nico. Yeah. I know he finished the game, but I think he wasn't he favoring his hip a little bit in the game. That's what I was told with in the room. I watched the games. I didn't know that. Okay. Well, if I'm wrong, then maybe we're just spitballing on what we what I heard in the green room. Heath, why did you on the team that we share? How the hell did you drop Khalif raiment for carnal tape? I mean, this is a loss. We are. We, I think we've lost two in a row now. And you know, Khalif raiment had a great day. So we really missed him. Yeah, better than date. We came back carnal tape and then can we throw out this Titans game in general? Just no chance today against the Titans. I am just taking this as the Texans defense is mostly back. The Titans were completely overmatched. They won't be this badly overmatched most weeks. Maybe we got a little bit too excited about carnal tape a little too fast, but I think if you're going to do that with anybody do it with rookie wide receivers who are starting to show that they might be really good. I still think Tate's a wide receiver three rest of season. Tater downs rest of season. Hey, Minnesota 23 New Orleans 13. And just domination here. Minnesota had the ball for almost 40 minutes. Jamie Kyler Murray 65% rostered. We would assume that in two weeks, he'll have his full arsenal, Jefferson Addison Hawkins and my three sons. Do you think by do you think hold him through the by or is he expendable? Khalif Murray. I think if you're rotating him and with whatever quarterback situation you have, whether he's your backup or he's been your streaming starter, you probably need to find somebody. You probably want to keep your other players on your bench unless your bench is able to carry him. But look, this was his best game and we're talking 20 fantasy points. And like you said, we have yet to see this offense fully healthy with Addison and Hawkinson and Jefferson all together. And even the backfield, you know, being up and down with Mason, not being there. So who knows what it all looks like, the total picture. But the biggest thing is that he ran. And when he runs, you're going to get good fantasy production when he doesn't, you're probably going to be left with what you saw the last two games. So I don't think he's necessarily a hold. My thought would be is how many people are picking up Kyler Murray on his by week? Yeah, the only real argument I think I could make for it is Colts, Lions, Bills, Packers coming out of the buy. Yeah. Now I asked you about Reese Hall, maybe being threatened by Braille and Allen. I asked you about Rico Dowdell and Jalen Warren. What do you think happens when Jordan Mason is back? Aaron Jones has been awesome. And he had another good game today. Heath. I think Aaron Jones is 31 or 32 years old. And they know his injury history. And they're 5.0 and probably thinking about January. So I think we'll see a heavy, not like Aaron Jones will be the lead back, but a heavy dose of Jordan Mason as the one B, especially on early downs. You've had Jones, each of the last three weeks, mispractice, play with a knee brace, left a game today, came back in the game today. Like he's been a hero for them, probably playing through something that's not, I'm sure, making him at 100%. So I think that's definitely one to watch. Okay. Jets 17, Cleveland 12, both of these team, not think about the Saints, not a word about the Saints. We talked about Vela. We talked about Johnson. We talked, we did. I'm flushing this game down the toilet for the Saints. They had the ball for 20 minutes and 23 seconds. They were two of 10 on third down. Shock was intercepted twice. The second one was a yolo ball at the end of the game. It was, I agree with you, flushing it for now. You flushing it and not in those house or your house, because the other day, well, and yeah, and I think we talked about shock as a loser. And I think we all look at Ola Vela and Johnson's stat lines as just a reflection of what shocked it. Yeah. Yeah. 100%. I mean, this is a combination of not having the ball and shock being under pressure and, you know, what I was thinking since Dave is the quicker slicker, looker, upper. If any quarterback ever makes their first start against a Brian Flores defense and does well, as I assume he didn't face them last year. I don't think he faced them last year. I'm just wondering, you know, because, you know, like I remember like a rookie quarterbacks versus bull, Bill Bella check. I think, yeah, yeah. I get a quarter back against this Flores defense is just the way, the way Jordan love played against them was really impressive in week one. Caleb Williams was horrible against them in a week, too. So it's just like, and not that it was, it was a third time. I'm rambling here, but you get the point. And it was rainy and all that other stuff. Jets 17 Cleveland 12. This was a game where both defensive lines dominated the opposing offensive line. Jets had eight sacks. The Browns have the Browns had four sacks. It was tough to anyone to anything to get going here. The weather was bad. Oh gosh. I don't even know what to say. Let's wait until the waiver wire show to talk about the running backs. But he's, we got another Denzel Boston touchdown. That was cool. He was only started in 42% of leads. And that was one of the rare occasions in this game where the wide receivers weren't completely awful. And Boston had a bad drop, too. But I say a bond to had a couple of nice catches, but terrible, terrible drops. It was just, I think this was probably the one game that the weather impacted in terms of the passing game. And I thought on the other side, it's just incredible. The difference between Geno Smith, when the guys open on time, and he's not pressured, he looks like a good NFL quarterback. And as soon as the Browns got pressure on him, everything just crumbled. It's a great point. Also, Isaiah Bond was wide open. It was open in the end zone. And Watson missed him. Watson played okay. Numbers are terrible, but it was tough. Oh, he was awful at the end of the game. He was bad at the end. Yeah. Also, but again, he was sacked eight times. So it wasn't all him. And Garrett Wilson's amazing. I call it the ball forever. Would you rather have Garrett Wilson or Jalen Warren? Or Jalen Warren? Yeah. Wilson. Uh, Jalen Warren. I think I, I think about the past catchers that'll eventually be back for the Jets. That might take a little bit off of his plate. Plus Breeze Hall will be back. I'll take Warren. Alright. Well, I don't know if you have Kenya. I had a very, very low route participation rate for Kenyan Sidiq. And I know he left early, but I saw it was like 20% or something. I'm going to look now 23% and that's still really low. And I do wonder what was Mason Taylor Mason Taylor was 63%. So I'm going to see what that says tomorrow because it'll be more accurate. And I'll take a look at just the first half. And I think it's possible Mason Taylor kind of took Sidiq off the field. Well, he's going to get dropped in a lot of leagues and then he gets the dolphins on week seven. So I'm just to keep that in mind. Denver 23 chargers 17. You know, it's just not just in Herbert's fault. I don't know why the defense has to play so hard against him. No, listen, I think I've told the story before of the first Super Bowl I ever watched was the Bears and the Patriots. And I started off cheering for the Patriots and by the third quarter, I felt so bad. I was cheering for the Bears. And by the third quarter, I felt so bad for the Patriots that I just wanted them to score.
and I got to that point with the Chargers when Dre Harris got herch day. It's an impossible situation and the Broncos played awful. - No, but Herbert's interceptions were pathetic. Is that especially that? - Yeah, and the fumbles were bad too. - Yeah. - Adam convinced me this morning of this afternoon in one league to start both Dre Harris and the rendez-gates and that worked out great. (laughing) - Yeah, the fact that it was like Charlie Kohler was-- - No, who was the guy that caught the touchdown? I'm sorry, I shouldn't admit this. - Oh, the rage back. - Football and Sports. - Yeah, that's gonna be crazy too. (laughing) - Ruchi? - Yeah, I think that's it. - Oh yeah, yeah. - Number 40. - How many-- - H for H back. - How many backup tight-end slash H backs caught touchdowns that Joe was crazy. Bangles had two. - Yeah. - No one, sorry, Hudson, I guess. - Good question. - Tegan. - Cardinal Coriano. - Tegan had two. - Yeah. - Oh man. (laughing) - All right, so anyway, thoughts on the chart. Who's the best chargers running back rest of season? - Lydanian Tomlinson. (laughing) - I don't want to-- - Look, I love Kean Mitchell and I think he's interesting to have on your bench, but they've gone to a three-way split at running back. And, you know, Jamie and I watched the games with Ran Carthon and Damian Harris. They worked for CBS Sports HQ. They give unflinching analysis on CBS Sports HQ. And I asked them both like, is that how bad is that for a running back to split with two other guys? And both of them just kind of like rolled their eyes and said it's the worst. And Damian Harris, of course, was with the Patriots and they used 17 different running backs from game to game. And you just can't get into a rhythm. You don't get a feel for what the opponent does or how they're playing. And Vidal had a very fortuitous run for a touchdown. And I don't want people to get excited for that because on his other carries, he had 15 yards on seven attempts. This run game stinks. This offensive line stinks. If you want to take a chance on a running back, I guess you start Hampton, but you're going to get games like this where he's averaging two yards of carry. And then Keaton Mitchell, I would like to think that they would use him more as an explosive option out of the backfield and catching passes. They did it last week. This week they didn't do it. I don't know why. I don't know why they do anything. There are mess, there are 0 and 5. They literally should not try and win another game the rest of the year. Put Justin Herbert on ice. Tank for Jeremiah Smith. And then just draft nothing but offensive lineman for the rest of your 2027 draft. And hope that you've got enough there. That will be the greatest summer of all time if they get to draft Jeremiah Smith. The greatest summer of all time. I think he's the one dude who might be able to, like, transcend all the back. He could block. No, they'll find other guy. I think he'll play. No, well, that day can fix too. I question, question. Would you rather have JK Dobbins coming off a nice game finally or a Murray and Hampton? Dobbins. I'll take Hampton. I think he'll be healthier all season long. I don't want to start either one. Detroit 45 Arizona 21. By so whole Jared Goff. I think we should try to sell high on Jared Goff. No, he's been 20 fantasy points more in every game and he plays with one of the worst defense in the NFL. All right. We'll just keep him then. Who's been you see? Jamira Gibbs get mad at him, like, just kind of play mad, but get mad at him for the sneak. No, no. They were talking on the broadcast about how Gibbs told them his goal this year is to break Lidane and Tom Lundson's touchdown record. Oh, that's funny. And he has nine, I think, in five games now. And he got stuffed and golf did the QB sneak. And he just kind of like raised his hands up. Amazing. Yeah, they're a fun team. Is there any concern about Amon Ross St. Brown? He has scored 40.3 fantasy points in PPR in his last three games combined. I love somebody is. Yeah. They're going into their buy. So my, you know, if you got a St. Brown manager is one in four, go for it. He had 11 targets this week. He had 11 targets last week. James and Williams with the game. You try and try James and Williams from Amon Ross St. Brown. What a weird game for him. Yep. Two guys is 40. Nobody does. This is the James and Williams experienced. In frat. Yeah, but it hasn't been the experience this year. So high on Jamo now. Yes. Two good games in a row for him. If we can. I'm a little mad at Thomas for not putting Sam Laporte on the graphic. He thought of you when I left it off as like, he's going to see this and not be fast. What you should have done is made a separate graphic with Sam Laporte's head on one side and he said on the other side. I haven't talked about Jeremiah Love yet. I need that the cardinal. Yeah. So at least he got a lot of camera. I'll be trading in that gift. It's so sad. It almost looks like he hit the rookie wall in like week three and preseason week one. He just wants it to be over like he said it last week. Yeah. But I think it's just it's just another one of those like sometimes ankle injuries. If they don't, if you don't let them go away, they don't go away. Well, I don't hate everything Arizona right now. But here's the thing. You look at the cardinals, they just face the lines, I keep bringing this up. Their next six games, Rams, Broncos, Cowboys, Seahawks, Rams, Chiefs, two Rams, Broncos, Seahawks, Chiefs in there and then just get to Cowboys. And their offense really isn't operating at that high of a level. No. I think it could be, you know, if this is what, if they score, what do they score? 21 points against the lions today. Last week, they scored, let me just check how many against the giants, they scored 24 points against the giants. Now they threw an interception at the goal line to end the game. What the hell do we expect from this team against good defenses? It could be really bad. Yeah. And he's splitting almost evenly with Algier in terms of snaps. Algier is getting the high value touches, 12 of 18 on third down, four of six inside the 10. I, I, I don't know when there will be a good time to start Jeremiah. What about me tonight in Wilson and, and all on everyone? Well, I mean, you're starting me bright every week. Yeah. I think Wilson's a number to receiver every week. I think you want to pick up Kendra Bourne to see what this becomes. They're going to just throw this. This is what they was. What I thought they're going to be was 40 plus 50 plus pass attempts. Like that's going to be their MO and whether it's successful or not, that's just depending on who they play and how, how much you're excited about it. This was the week to get excited about them because Detroit stinks. And so I think in terms of the running backs, you know, you said this, which I don't think was wrong. Adam, when he had the big game two weeks ago, that he thought he's going to be a top 10 running back rest of season. There's going to be another gamer to no matter who they're playing that is going to pop off. Have a big run, big play. He's just too explosive. You sell them immediately. But that said, what happened that that week was he got a ton of work, Algier did basically nothing and he got the goal line work. And it just looked like, okay, the first two games, whatever you're having fun, now it's his show. Now it's his game. He re-injured his ankle. He heard his different ankle right here at a different ankle last week. That's what they said. Jeremiah love. So me, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have just brushed it off. Maybe he isn't healthy. But I'm just saying in general, I'm wondering, should I trade Trey McBride for Tucker Kraft and a good number two receiver or something like that? You got to get higher than that. All right. Tucker Kraft, part of it is fine, but you got to get not just a number two, so that's got to be like a borderline number. Well, like if you're trading for, if you still believe in AJ Brown and Devon Tay Smith, like that's the kind of trade you got to look. Okay. So yeah, Tucker Kraft and Devon Tay Smith from McBride, and that's a fair deal. If I need receiver help, I'm considering it. Yeah. Don't love it, but I'm considering it. All right. Now to the game of the week. Seattle 32. Nope. San Francisco 32. Seattle 29. Well, if you were nervous about starting your 49ers, you got 20 points from Purdy 30. You got a decent, you know, solid game from McCaffrey scored. Mike Evans. Mike Evans. Mike Evans. He was awesome. Love it. Yeah. He's every time he walks to the sideline, I'm afraid he's hurt. Yeah. Yeah. That's just how he walks. Yeah. There was a report. I don't know where it was that said. Somebody suggested John Lynch suggested to Mike Evans. Like, you're not playing. He's two weeks ago, and he said, no, I'm playing. And like the ribbon tree was that bad. Like they didn't want to risk him getting, you know, having further injury. And so for him to be playing through this and playing like this is just you're thrilled. And one of the greatest like smack talk moments, somebody said it in the chat. I don't know. Yeah. The turning digs around to look at his name on the back of his jersey. It was fantastic. Digs was talking trash to him. He just grabbed him by the shoulders and turned around and looked at his name plate. It was hilarious. That's cool as hell. I didn't see that. George Kittles sucks, obviously, drop him, no, just kidding. And Emmanuel Wilson, another game with 20 plus touches and a touchdown. And they've got a Thursday game against Denver. So they've already said it might be tough to get Zach Charbonne back for that game. So you might have another week of Emmanuel Wilson as a feature back. He did fumble once, but George Alani fumbled twice. I assume another big workload for Emmanuel Wilson and the Broncos run defense. So then no, no, today they were bad against Videll anyway, but all in one run, yeah. But I'm not ready to say they're they're well, but you can't judge them against the chargers because they're like their whole offensive line is like a preseason and he running back that's going to have 20. Any running back that's going to have 20 plus touches, you're starting and Wilson's got that. That was good. That was good. That was good. Could you put the chargers and Eagles offensive lines together and have a good offensive
It would probably just be the eagle's offensive line. He's on fire only if they all get to play at the same time. Well, that's right now, right? What's later gets better? You know, they're gonna say something. Krishmick Havry has been good. He has not been great. Yeah, he's having to take one barklier, right? Not hurt, playing, not playing great, at least he's scoring. That brings up a good point, because I was gonna ask you guys, I think we should have some sort of contest for the rest of the season that decides who has to write the Jameer Gibbs 400 touches article next summer, because nobody's going to want to do it, but he is going, like, he might have 450 touches. I mean, if you're building your team right now, which running back, you're picking. NFL? NFL team. This conversation with Ran and Damian also, Damian took Gibbs, me, Ran, and Pete Presko all took B. John. Is there a wrong answer? No. It's got to be a wrong answer, I'd say. No, yeah. Yeah. Thanks for watching, I listening, everyone. Oh, B, we've got some B. John's in here. I would go B. John, but I'm not quite sure why. He's bigger. He's bigger. Yeah, he's got the size to handle the punishment. Oh, anyway, you put them both on the dolphins. It was better. Olly Gordon. Yes. This is the strong, strong finish to the show. This is Tom Linson versus Terrell Davis again, right? Is that what it was back in the day? Was it not Tom Linson? Was Terrell Davis? Definitely not. I think it was Tom Linson. Barry Sanders. I'm sorry. It's Barry Sanders versus Terrell Davis. No, it was Marshall Falk, wasn't it? No, it's Barry Sanders versus Terrell Davis. No, I think it was Tom Linson versus Falk. I talked to him as well. Yes, yes. But the original Alexander had a couple of years in there too with Tom Linson. When I first started playing fantasy football, I'm pretty sure it was Terrell Davis versus it was late 90s. Well, Terrell Davis had like three years. He was Barry Sanders. Yeah, right. The best. All right. Good night, everyone. We will talk to you tomorrow with Beyond the Box score. Hopefully we'll talk a little more about Chase Brown, see if we can figure out what's going on there. And whatever else is on your mind. Thanks again, see he's Dave and Jamie. It's Thomas for producing. I'm Adam. See you tomorrow. [MUSIC]
