Week 5 Start Sit Advice (Part 2) | Sneaky Starts & Players to BENCH (10/09 Fantasy Football Podcast)
80m 15s
The fantasy football analysis focuses on key matchups and player performances impacting fantasy value. Bucky Irving’s goal-line success highlights his potential as a high-upside running back, though analysts caution against trading him without sufficient depth in the receiving corps. Dak Prescott remains a dependable quarterback, but Dallas’ offensive inefficiency and key injuries—particularly to C.D. Lam—create uncertainty. The 49ers’ pass-heavy offense is expected to face a tough defense in their game against Seattle, with George Kittle and Deebo Samuel as top targets despite defensive pressure. Minnesota’s game against New Orleans is viewed as a high-risk, high-reward matchup, with Tyler Schuck offering value despite past struggles. Brian Robinson Jr. emerges as a strong flex or starter option due to consistent workload and explosive performances, especially in a favorable matchup. Injury reports across multiple teams—including Kyle Menongai, Malik Neugent, and Justin Jefferson—add volatility to fantasy decisions. Overall, the discussion emphasizes balancing risk and reward, leveraging player matchups, and prioritizing depth and upside over traditional rankings. The analysis concludes that while some players like Irving or Robinson show strong potential, success depends heavily on injury status, team dynamics, and matchup factors. Fantasy managers are advised to evaluate depth, trust in quarterback performance, and situational upside before making trades or lineup decisions.
>> This is fantasy football today from CBS sports. >> So what a play. >> Can you believe this? >> It's a no again. >> It's time to dominate your fantasy lead. >> It's to the races. >> What he stays at his feet. >> He's just got to have the distance. >> Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath. [MUSIC] >> Welcome to the show and happy Friday. Everybody, big day for fantasy football today. We've got two shows today. We've got the starter set for the NFC home games. Then we've got the mailbag at 10.30 a.m. Eastern. You might hear it on Saturday in your audio feed. Chicago at Green Bay, San Francisco at Seattle. The last two times the Niners played Seattle. They scored a combined nine points. What do we expect nine times? What are we expecting this time? Minnesota is at New Orleans. Can we start any Saints? The Giants are at Washington. The bills are at the Rams on Monday night. Detroit's at Arizona and Baltimore is at Atlanta on Sunday night. But first, Tampa Bay 24, Dallas 16, your Tampa Bay. You're up 24/10 with eight minutes and 36 seconds to play in the fourth quarter. You're at the one-yard line. Fourth and goal at the Dallas one. Do you kick it to make it a 17-point game? Or do you go for it, Coach Dave Richard? >> You kick it. >> Easy answer. >> Coach Jamie Eisenberg. >> No doubt, you kick it. >> I have to admit, I've at first thought, go for it. Go for the jugular, and then they took a time out and they went to commercial and I said, "What am I doing here? You kick it." But they didn't kick it. They honestly almost blew it. If Jake Ferguson didn't drop that ball, who knows what would have happened. >> Do you want to land and drop the interception? Potential politics, man. >> Not bulls by fire if that happened. >> Yeah, I mean, right. >> Both coaches may have sealed their fate with what happened there or may have changed their fate. Did you write, sure? Well, all right, so we'll talk about the fantasy impact here. Bucky Irving. Pretty cool. 86% started. >> Goal line, Bucky Irving. >> They did get Sean Tucker in at the goal line a little bit late in the game, but yes, I was very surprised, honestly. And that's huge development, but do you think this is a sell high on Bucky Irving or just 100%. >> 100%. >> Yeah, in what regard? Like, what would you? What do you think? >> Well, I mean, look, first off, this was amazing, and he's capable of this, you know, I don't advise you to say capable. He's capable of being a great fantasy asset and a great starter and a borderline number one running back. We've seen that in his profile. It was Ruggier, the starter of his second year. He's just in what I still think is a bad offense, and he just happened to play a really bad defense. And if you can get great value in return for him, then that's something you should try to pull off if you have enough running back depth. That's the problem is a lot of people don't have a lot of running back depth. So, you know, he's gotten off to a good start so far this season. You know, this is what, three good games out of five that he's had, certainly two. >> Two and a half. >> Yeah, so like, I don't know what you're expecting in return for him. Like, it's easy to say, okay, I need receiver. So I'll go trade Bucky Irving for maybe AJ Brown, or somebody who's, you know, never do that. >> That's what you're talking about, realms of receivers that were drafted ahead of him or players that were drafted ahead of him that are in some tough spots or coming off injuries, et cetera. You know, this could be one of those situations where you're selling high and maybe buying high, you know, so just, you know, hey, I have running back depth. You have receiver depth. I'll trade you, you know, one for one. >> Why would you not trade him for AJ Brown, Adam? >> Well, I don't know when AJ Brown is coming back and AJ Brown had a pretty sooner than later. >> I get a pretty serious high ankle sprain and, you know, those are the types of-- >> Well, listen, I think that's a fair concern is to trade for somebody that you have question marks for, that even though he was drafted ahead of. But what I was getting at is like, that's the type of trades you're probably looking to make at this point for somebody that was underperforming or injured or whatever. And you're hoping that the rest of season is great for that player while you're getting rid of Bucky Irving while he's at his peak. I think the question I'd have for Bucky is just how confident are you that he is the goal line back? Because Baker may feel it could be back next week and Baker will throw to him. He had four more targets in each of the first three games, even if he's not playing on third down. But it's that goal line role that I think he really needs. Most weeks he's not going to be this amazing as a rusher. So, you know, how confident are you that is, you think it's going to be maybe be like Bajal Tutten where it's maybe he's not the exclusive goal line back, but-- >> A great comp. >> Yeah. And I think he could be better than that. What did he show us last night in short yardage situations? >> He doesn't. They don't need to put Sean Tucker in there. It's like they just don't-- >> Right. I almost think Sean Tucker. I can't-- I'll verify it if you want me to. Didn't most of his work come after Bucky had a tunnel work and maybe they just wanted to have somebody grinding down the clock and taking some carries off of a poor Bucky. >> I think Bucky got banged up a little bit and sat for a bit. But Sean Tucker got that fourth and goal at the one carry and he got stuffed. But he scored last week in that situation. >> I'm not ready to say that Bucky is won the job, but maybe the coaches will be more open to using him there. Certainly. If he did on Thursday night, they might continue just feeding him. And we know that coaches will do that when they've got a running back who they've, you know, gained trust in throughout the game. And if you're worried about Sean Tucker, if you're worried about the Bucks offense because they're not going to have a lot of games like this where they're playing with the lead. They're just not. I think you could try and trade him and there's definitely like a small increase in his value after this game. It's not going to be huge. If you can turn him into somebody, maybe if you want to go a step higher than AJ Brown, I don't know if you would trade him straight up, but I don't know if you would get straight up. T Higgins, Christian Watson, Garrett Wilson. I think AJ Brown is kind of like right below those guys with the chance to leap way ahead of them. If he's right, and if what we saw last week from Drake Mayward, he turned a corner, turns into AJ Brown being the type of receiver that we've known him to be when he's healthy. So I don't mind chance if I need a receiver long term, and I've got the running back depth to do it. Now, if I don't have the running back depth, I'm keeping Bucky, even though I don't love the schedule moving forward. Okay. Perhaps I was a little hasty to say I wouldn't do that for Brown. I just, I a little afraid of the ankle, but we're just trying to get the range of player. And I think we did that. Yeah. Bucky, Baker Mayfield could be back next week, and maybe that'll open things up in the passing game a little bit, because if you started a Mecca Buka, you got the 14 yard rushing touchdown, but they're not really making chunk plays in the passing game with Jalen Daniels who played a really nice game. Not unless guys are wide ass open downfield, and the Cowboys just bust like they did on test Johnson. I think the takeaway here, and we've kind of seen it from a Buka before, is that his athleticism is a okay. And I don't think you have to worry about the toe being a major issue anymore. Yeah, you have to worry about the quarterback, whoever it may be. Now on the Dallas side of the ball, Jamie C.D. Lam, quad injury, apparently it's a bruise, not expected to be a long-term thing. But the Cowboys are basically the Cowboys, I guess, except when you look at it, Dak Prescott's only had one, his season so far looks like Jared Goffs. One huge game for Goff, it was a Buffalo for Dallas, it was at, for Dak, it was against Washington. Everything else has been 21 or fewer fantasy points. Do you have any concerns about Dak Prescott? Not really. I mean, he's still going to be one of the better fantasy quarterbacks. He always has a game like this, where there's either a lot of yards and a minimal touchdowns or the interstag just going to be refluxy, yes, the tips, so I'm not, no, I'm not worried. And they only had the ball for 20 minutes and 39 seconds, it's similar to what happened in week one with them, they just didn't have the ball a lot. So the Cowboys still look like the Cowboys. If C.D. Lam is going to miss time, maybe Jake Ferguson steps up, he missed basically four games last year and Ferguson was a monster. He had a 23% target share, he had four touchdowns. He scored 17 or more fantasy points in three of the four games. Ryan Flanoi had one good game last year and three bad games. And George Pickens was insane. He averaged over 100 yards per game and had five touchdowns in four games and he averaged 3.03 yards per out run, basically like the best wide receiver in football practically went. And we saw yesterday when C.D. Lam is out. All right. Do we have an update on Tyler Geiton, their left tackle? No, he left with a back injury, I haven't seen anything on that. Okay. Because that's going to be pretty important too. Dak was really pass rush sensitive in this game. Yeah, that's going to be, that's, that could be blueprinty moving forward. And especially Ertsman, if he doesn't have C.D. Lam, because that's usually his go to when he's pressured. Anything else? Well, C.D. Also should have had like a 53 yard touchdown. Dak missed him when he was wide open. Yeah. He's doing great though. He's averaging 19 catches in the last two games. No, he's not. Not averaging 19. He has 19 right? Yeah. He's averaging 22. He's averaging eight yards past the last two games. No, nine and a half. All right. That's Sunday morning, tune in to fantasy football today at youtube.com/fantasyfootballtoday. com slash fantasy football today. We'll see you there here are your news and notes. We're still not expecting Lamar Jackson to play. Sean Peyton is going to call plays for the Denver Broncos. Okay, it only took five weeks. And here we are. And hopefully he can get things turned around. Jane Daniels is full go. And since and this was interesting. Cincinnati's safety Jordan battle told the meat so stupid so stupid that Malik Willis has a tell that Malik Willis taps the ball before every throw and that the defense could use that as a key to break on the ball. Why would you say that? Yeah, I feel bad. He must be like really embarrassed. You know, I think I would I would think he made a mistake. He shouldn't have said that out loud. Do you think people are saying what's a battle? Did that he just say what's a battle? Running back news. Ramon Dre's diva is still limited. You guys ranking him still? Yes. Yeah, he sounds like he's going to play it. Yeah. Okay. He won't be at 100% but he'll play. How about the commanders? We don't know if he doesn't play. Might lose a jump. Yeah, right. How about the commanders waving Kachron Allen? They're rookie. I think a six-throwing pick running back. That's wild. Yeah. I mean, you got, you know, 30-year-old Austin Eccler and 20s, what, seven, 28-year-old Rashad White and seven-throwing Jakory Croskey Marriott. Why would you get rid of a younger player? Yeah. You must be struggling. White and Eccler seem kind of repetitive but redundant. How many teams off the top of your head? Do you see putting in a claim for Allen? I can see Green Bay right away. Miami. Miami? Maybe even Seattle. They liked him in the draft lead-up. I think he's a solid prospect. He won't be on the street for long. Ashton Gentie was limited. So guy goes full on Wednesday and he's limited on Thursday. You got to just have your antennas up. Ashton Gentie limited with foot and ankle issues. Jalen Wright limited. Rico Dowdell still limited. Seikwang Parkley mispractice and Damian Pierce on the active roster. Let's see. Chris Brooks mispractice again for the Packers not looking great for him. They signed Pierce strong. So the idea of carrying Brooks as a deep stash is out the window for now. We'll come back to him. But for this week, you don't have to do it. And Marshawn Lloyd had five catches last week and a big route increase with Chris Brooks injured early in that game. So maybe that matters for people who are desperate. Cam Scataboo was limited but he lost the no contact jersey. So it looks like Scataboo is okay. Tony Pollard mis 20 powers back in practice. He's fine. Now Kyle Menongai may not be fine. He's got turf toe and he might have to miss this week's game. Maybe one to two weeks. They said there was a report for Kyle Menongai. So keep an eye on that. Alvin Camera practice. Jeremiah Love should be fine at wide receiver. We're still waiting to hear on Justin Jefferson. He wants to play. Jordan Addison looks like he's going to play. Jamar Chase practiced. So he's in the concussion protocol. He has to clear it but getting out there on Thursday was a positive sign. But T Higgins did not practice. There's definitely a scenario where they both, there's any scenario. Two zero or one of them could play at Miami on Sunday. Jamar Chase and T Higgins. I'd be very surprised that T Higgins plays this point. All right. See if he gets in a practice on on Friday. DJ Moore mispractice. Not a shock. That's their first practice of the week. Malik neighbors back. That was good to see. Michael Pittman out several weeks with a foot injury. Roman Wilson with an opportunity. Chris Olave and available on half of CBS leagues. There you go. Chris Olave, you guys expected play, right? Yep. Yes. Now the commanders wide receivers. We'll talk about that game in a little bit. But neither Diggs nor McClaurren practice yesterday. Who do you think has a better chance of playing? Diggs. Diggs. Carnell Tate limited with a back injury. Again, a guy who went from full on Wednesday to limited on Thursday. Carnell Tate. Same with Don Tavy and Wix. He has a hamstring injury. We talked about that game yesterday, Jamie. If Don Tavy and Wix were to miss the game. What would that mean for Darius Cooper, a McCuy lemon or even Goddard if he plays? It's a it's a boost for those guys. I mean, clearly Goddard would be the one that if you're talking just ranking flex options would be the easy number one choice. But Cooper's coming off a seven target game, score two touchdowns. That's going to be a guy. Clearly, Jaylen Hertz leans on McCuy lemon at six targets, five catches. You know, so both those guys will get a boost. It's just hard to have faith in the Eagles offense right now with their offensive line and the defense that they're facing. And a couple of Dallas Goddard, by the way, was limited again. He says he's going to play. All right. All right. Good because I have him and Kelsey. I think he said I didn't paraphrasing. If it's up to me, I'm going to play. Oh, well, it's not up to him. Mike Evans mispracticed. Lab McConkey mispracticed. Quentin Johnston was limited. Oh, here's a tight end note. Colby Parkinson was limited in the first practice of the week. Why does that matter? Not necessarily great for Tyler Higby, if you're counting on him against the bills on Monday night. And on the offensive line, it looks like Jackson powers Johnson for the Raiders. Their offensive guard is training in the right direction. The offensive lines we might be worried about this week could be Minnesota, Chicago, Chargers, of course. And then on Eagles. What's that? Eagles. Eagles. But that's going to be every week. Yeah. All right. Let's see. Um, on defense, the big stuff, Jeffrey Simmons. You mentioned the Cardinals for the offensive line. I didn't today. I did yesterday, but I should have. Yeah. Cardinals offensive line beat up this week. One strike against Per Set. He's also, I mean, he's realized what's going on with that offense. But Jacobi Per Set is going to talk about this for a stat of the game. He's got one of the lowest ADOTs in football. His yards per attempt is horrible. They have really nothing going on down field. You even look at Tramock Bryant. Tramock Bryant is not like he's a downfield guy or anything, but his ADOT is like 5.3 yards or something. That's super low. And his explosive play rate is way down. So they got to push the ball down field. And teams do that against the Lions. Lions give up the most big plays in football. Here's a big one. Seattle defensive tackle Leonard Williams mispractice with an ankle injury. So if he doesn't play, that could help the 49ers. Aziz Al Shire might be back this week for Houston. Aaron Donald was limited. Both starting cornerbacks for the Patriots have not practiced. Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis. If they don't play, would you move Kirk Cousins ahead of Drake May? No. I might. All right. There are other defensive notes. But it's time for one question for each game. But it's also time for a commercial break. So we're going to pay the bills. We'll be back in two and two. Fall is here. And that means football fantasy football. And of course, Caramel apples. You know, I'm a big fan of the flavor. So when I heard about the new Caramel apple, five hour energy shot, I had to give it a try. And you get that sweet and tart apple flavor followed by a smooth buttery Caramel finish. Chicago's at Green Bay. Who do you trust in the Chicago passing game? Trust is a tough word with that team. Um, I'm going to start Luther Burton and Colston Lovelin and I'm going to hope that Rambo Dunes A plays well once again. I like that Odunes A had a good game last week with Beijing beat up on that zone heavy jet defense. That's what the Packers run as well. Packers have a hard time getting pressure on the quarterback. So Beijing will have time to make some throws downfield. I thought he made some great throws to Odunes A. I might be a little more bullish on Odunes A. Then Burton. Burton's getting a lot of short manufactured targets. Odunes A might be able to come through on more explosive plays. So put me down for Odunes A1, Burton 2, Lovelin 3, although you can't deny Lovelin in the targets last week and overall just the Chicago offense playing in structure, playing on time. If Beijing isn't going to be stressed, he should be able to connect with all three of these guys. Okay. And let's see what's our next game here. It's San Francisco at Seattle. What do you expect from the 49ers offense this time, Dave? I think they'll have a hard time winning downfield. I looked at who's winning in like short area throws against zone because that's really the only way you can complete passes against the Seahawks and it's Dibo and it's Kittle. And so with those two guys, I think you've got to start Dibo as more of like a flex than a number two receiver. And as long as Evans is active in playing, that's going to be the case. I'm going to start Kittle just because it's George Kittle. And if Evans ends up playing the Dibo's a flex and Kittle is like a low end number two receiver, but I don't I don't love
match up for Evans. He's the one that I'd probably worried about the most. I'd almost rather he not play. And the 49ers can focus on the run game and then keeping passes short and sweet to Debo, Kittle, McCaffrey. You're saying you like Debo better than Evans? I don't I don't think I can do that if Evans plays. No, yeah. All right. I'm not going to be sky high on any of these receivers. Yeah, it stinks. It's definitely like you look at New Orleans. We're going to talk about next. The fact that New Orleans, which is been good for fantasy San Francisco, which has been great for fantasy. They have arguably the two toughest matchups. And speaking of which, Jamie Minnesota's at New Orleans, would you start any Saints? I think shop is still a low end starter. I think you're still you're definitely starting a lot of a unveil a still a number three receiver. So you just down great expectations. Joanne Johnson's a low end starting tight end this week as well. It's just the, you know, Dave mentioned the blue print against Dallas. Clearly the blue print against the Saints is just put pressure on on Tyler Schuck. And he he didn't have his best game last week. He could have had a better game if the the two short runs for Alvin Camarripe. One of those becomes a touchdown for Schuck. But the the benefit for him has been the volume. And I don't think that necessarily completely goes away because the Vikings offense is an app. So it's not like they're going to dominate time of possession. So I think Schuck's has an opportunity to play well. I just would prefer if you can find somebody else. So he's in that mix of cousins and Rogers. And I would start per se over him. So he's he's 12 for me not not in the same spot. The other the other guys are for the most and I lowered Joanne Johnson who was like fifth or sixth last week. He's closer to 10. A lot of they still must start guy and and Valle is still a number three or zero. I don't know if you want to talk about it now or not Adam. I actually thought Schuck played well last week. I thought the offensive line was a huge liability. Oh, I I totally agree with you. Okay. You know now it's a what I would think is a much tougher opponent as opposed to what he played last week. It's kind of true. There's there's there's there's an encouraging game and Kellin Moore's past that makes me feel okay about Schuck. And so Jamie talked about like that gaggle of quarterbacks. For me, it's from like QB eight all the way down to QB 15. You could like throw them all in a hat and pick one out and say, okay, this guy has huge upside. You might as well start him. I've got to figure out how I feel about each of those quarterbacks probably before the end of the day on Friday. But Schuck is clearly in that group and you can make the case that he can overcome the past rush because he's got mobility. He didn't really have much in that last week. But he can run a little bit and he's still throwing the ball very well or he could get beat to bits by this Vikings past rush and end up being the worst of seven or eight quarterbacks that we're talking about. Yeah, I was already talking about that game and many other games to try and like come do an idea on like where these guys should be in my rank. So we'll come back to it. But yeah, it's like, you know, you want to trust Tyler Schuck leads the NFL and pass attempts. We saw Jordan Love in week one. Have a ton of past attempts against Minnesota and you had a solid game. That's why I had a kind of a fluke 81 yard touchdown to Christian Watson. That was should have been in a legal block in the back on that play. But he did well in that game. He played all right. But you also could see the Saints. If the Saints are in your lineup, you could see them rooting your week and completely screwing you like a lot of quarterbacks do against and not just quarterbacks. Like that cross got. Yeah. Like a lot of a lot of players against Minnesota. It just happens all the time. Giants are out Washington. Can we really trust Jaden Daniels if his wide receivers are injured and keep in mind only Matthew Stafford has done well against the Giants. That press got Cam Ward Jacobi percent. They all average 5.1 yards per attempt or worse, which is just weird. I don't get it. But can we really trust Jaden Daniels if his wide receivers are injured Jamie? I'm still starting him. So, you know, that that list of quarterbacks that they mentioned. Jaden Daniels to me is ahead of that group just because of what he should be able to still do with his legs. I know there's a concern with the elbow, but I don't think they're going to change who he is as a quarterback. Dramatic at least. You know, they're going to I'm sure, you know, work on some of the things to make sure he's he's somewhat safe in any event. It would be nice if he has one of the two top guys. If he doesn't have both, then you should be a little bit more concerned. Buffalo is at the Rams. Dave, who will be the best Buffalo pass catcher? We've talked a lot about the wide receivers, but obviously concade assuming more is out. It's going to have an opportunity here. Tough match up for him. Dave, who's the best bill's pass catcher? You can hit the music now if you want to. Concade is the one that I would say will be the best. I think Shakira will get the most targets. I am worried about the match up for Keon Coleman. It doesn't have to do with his talent. It's Trent McDuffie who's been really good against opposing receivers. He McDuffie's either going to go head up against Concade or Coleman. And it could be Concade. And if it's Concade and maybe I've got to study this a little bit more than obviously I'm all out on Concade and I'd be much more in on Keon Coleman. But this is really a spot where I think the mismatched quality of Concade, unless the Rams do what the Patriots did and that's double team of every single pass route. He should be able to shine. He should be able to play more. The bills are going to have to throw in this game. So I want to lean into all three of these guys, but Concade is the one for now that I like the most. It's just, it's pretty amazing that they've allowed 85 receiving yards to opposing tight ends on the season. Total, right? They've been really good. And it's like somewhat circumstantial. You know, they got likely with the game that Dark Guy Hurt. He still had 10 targets in that game. Kiddles were at the start of the season before he was, you know, fully back. And then the last two weeks have not exactly been the best of tight ends. Right. But that's still amazing that it's four games and under a hundred yards total to the position. How many targets have they allowed? Or have they seen? It's not really allowed. It's 12 catches for 85 yards. I don't know what targets are. Okay. Well, 12 for 85 isn't very good. Okay. Let's go to our next game. It is Detroit at Arizona. Jamie, Jameson Williams or Jeremiah Love? I probably still stick with love, but I'm excited about Jameson Williams against his defense. It's pretty bad. Okay. I'll take Jay. Oh, easy. Jamie, oh, easy. Interesting. Easy, you know, for Jeremiah Love. Why? He's not a hundred percent. Like, I talked about it with Scott Turner on Reality versus Fantasy. If you read between the lines, it just seems like they're trying to keep him available for the entire season and they're really trying to limit his reps. And I don't, I don't, I can't love a running back whose reps are going to be limited, especially if the floor is coming out and saying that they like Tyler Algiermore in passing situations. I don't think Arizona's going to be playing with a lead. I think the lines are going to be able to do whatever the heck they want offensively. And I could see Jameson Williams having a week just as good as he had last week. Maybe fewer catches, but triple digits in the yardage. We can stay on JMO here and we'll just skip them when we get to the game. But like Jalen Waddle, you know, I talked about yesterday. I can't really figure out why with Waddle, why he's good some weeks, why he's not. I can't figure it out with Jameson Williams. You know, Dave, I sent you a stat about the coverage schemes that he might do well against, but I think it's such a small sample size. And I don't know, like it does really well against cover three and not cover two. And what did I say, Arizona doesn't, doesn't play a lot of cover three. Or they do whatever the hell I said. But yeah, like what's, what's the reason why you have confidence in Jameson Williams because his target share was 23% in week one. It hasn't been higher than 16% in any of his last three games. Even last week, 16% target share. And yet he still had a lot of catches in the game because they threw 50 something times, which could happen. Right, right. And I don't know if you're going to have to do that. That's fair to say. So that's why I said, I don't think it's going to be as many catches. But it's one thing to say, okay, he's good against this coverage scheme. He's bad against that coverage scheme. When you don't have good football players on your defense and you can't generate a pass rush and you're letting faster receivers run free. It doesn't matter what scheme you're running. Jameson's more talented. Malik neighbors was more talented last week. And he had James, he's always more talented. That's the thing. He's always, he's so talented. He just I get it. But they're going to be able, they're going to be able to get spots where he's open. And I would be, I would be surprised with Jared Goffi ignored those spots. I want to go back to the Ramside or do you want me to save this? No, let's save it. And I look, I love Jameson Williams. It's just, it's frustrating because you can't predict, you can't predict him. No, but you do know what kind of upside he has. Yeah. And so you've got to make the choices of fantasy manager. Do you want to, it's FOMO. Do you want to leave a guy who could go off for five, one, ten and one on your bench? And if you are, are you doing it for a running back who might get 14 touches? And it's a, it's a favorable matchup. But is he going to really bust out for a hundred total yards and a touchdown himself? And I would say no, I think there's more upside with Jameson Williams. Yeah, there's always more upside with Jameson Williams. There's always more downside too. I have about Jameson Williams or Emmanuel Wilson. He's got like a steadier role. Well, I'll take James. Jamie, I look at Baltimore and Atlanta. I see Brian Robinson, Jr. is on the most activated list, which is a cool list. If you're on CBS Sports.com, you can see who people are putting in their lineups to start. He's only 20% started as of now, but that's a big increase from last week. Do you have any interest in starting Brian Robinson, Jr.? Yeah, I'm forced to in a couple of weeks. I made this comp on on CBS Sports Network with Dave and Heath yesterday. Oli Gordon had nine carries and had a hundred yards and a touchdown. And everybody's excited to start in this week. Understandably so. Brian Robinson, Jr. has had 10 plus touches in each of the last three games. 10 plus carries in each of the last three games. And he's coming off a game where you score three touchdowns.
said four total as four touchdowns in the last two games and as 8.7 PPR points are more in three straight games. I don't know if there's a huge difference here in terms of what the workload may or may not be. Summing Jalen right is playing. I would expect Gordon to have more but I don't know if it will be by much just given how the Dolphins offense typically operates. So not to say that you shouldn't be excited about Gordon but you should probably be a little bit more excited about Brian Robinson and when we start to talk about you know the Kyle Manon guy is the Blake Corms, Trayvon Henderson's the number two running back to the back of running backs that get work or maybe enough work that you can buy into it. This Falcons offense in the last two games with Michael Pentax has been amazing. They scored 80 points. The run game has been exceptional and Brian Robinson Jr is a big part of it. So it's going to be tough to say okay must start guy. It's going to be tough to say he's anything more than a low end number two running back or flex but if you're just starting to look at it to some of the questionable backfields you know throw tendency in there if you want but Washington and Denver and some of these other situations where these running backs aren't necessarily one standing up standing up above the rest. Wouldn't talk me of Brian Robinson I'll score them again. Okay Brian Robinson Jr now Jamie says he's forced to start him. He's got him 36. We're not telling you you should start Brian Robinson Jr but a lot of people are and okay that's our last game. We'll talk about that in a bit. Chicago is at Green Bay. Now we discussed the Bears offense. Let's discuss the Bears defense. They give 37 points at Carolina 12 or fewer 12 or fewer points in each of their last three games against Minnesota, Philadelphia and the Jets and their DST's been actually good. They they blitz a lot. They have 10 sacks however they've seen the fewest amount of plays by far. 192 plays have been run against the Bears. The next fewest 228 I mean that is a huge gap and they're also yeah. Is that a weak four stat like where were they coming in the week four? Yeah right the Jets right but even if you added like 30 plays you know they still had what have seen the fewest plays in football. Well it's crazy. So anyway the one thing I noticed about them and also about Jacksonville who we keep praising those two teams are in the bottom six in yards per play defensively. Jacksonville has the fourth worst yards per play and the Bears have the sixth worst yards per play. I thought that was weird but anyway what do you expect Dave from the Packers offense? Can we trust Jordan love that you know and then like Tucker crack whatever the Pat you know who's on the Packers. I don't have to name them. I'm in a weird spot with them because I can't get away from Christian Watson or Matthew Golden and fantasy but Jordan love is like barely on the fringe of that group of quarterbacks. I guess he should be included because he does have upside because he's throwing to Christian Watson and Matthew Golden and let's not forget about Tucker craft either. I'm starting those three guys but I'm not crazy about love and that's a great talk. It's sad to hear but also I know I know this bears the defense is better. How much am I buying it after they held the jets to 0 for 7 on third downs they did barely at the ball and then fill it off the other week before just that offense isn't what we thought it was. I kind of feel I feel like the difference is when the Packers have the ball they will throw a lot because I don't really believe in their run game and it's just going to be a matter of how aggressive the bears are with their past rush. I think they're going to be pretty aggressive. They'll probably play a lot of man to man. Jordan love really does will to under pressure a good amount of the time at least that's his history. I think I'd try and find a better quarterback than Jordan love if he can this week is a by-week QB he's fine but he's to me he's not a top 12 QB. I think Jamie has him 12th right around there so he's who do you have him ranked over Jamie. I'm open to an argument. I'm struggling with him cousins Rogers that whole group as well so it's just one of those situations. I think you know that they're going to throw the ball a lot that's just their ML right now because they can't run the ball. You would expect just given how the bears offense has been operating that they're probably going to be chasing points just based on how their games have gone so far this season they lost another defensive player one of their better ones Nedran Cooper so you know it's not going to help I think just looking at it right now the history of Jordan love is 30 plus pass attempts he's typically been 20 fantasy points or more and I think that's kind of where he'll be so a low-end number one quarterback. Yeah there's one thing holding him back based on his history and that he just does not run in fact of all qualified passers there's like 29 of them. Jordan love has the fewest rushing yards he has negative eight rushing yards and that is because one he doesn't run but two he took three knees to he kneeled down three times last week and he's one of those guys when he kneels down he runs like three yards back every time and then he kneels down so he loses you a lot more fantasy points so you don't want him to take the other on his rushing yard. Yeah so he's that negative eight rushing yards but it is no I mean it is a big deal it's not like like now he's like Jared Goff he has to throw for massive numbers because he used to be a 250 is rushing yard kind of guy I think and it's not happening right now for whatever reason. All right Tucker-Craft or Colson Loveland. Craft still craft but it's getting closer. Tucker-Craft or Isaiah likely. Likely. Agreed. Tucker-Craft or Joanne Johnson. I'll take you on. I'll take you on. Okay. Green Bay running back or Brian Robinson Jr. Brian Robinson Jr. I think I think I would lean B Rob as well. It's cool. Do we really think March on Lloyd's going to get a bunch of targets again because that would be a differentiator. Again it was directly related to Chris Brooks getting hurt. His route participation rate more than doubled. And now they've added peer strong they might give him an opportunity it's probably it's gross either way it's probably safer with Brian Robinson Jr. It's just one of those situations where they haven't been able to feature one guy over the other and so the touches may be similar for Robinson versus the top packers running back for this week. So take your chances with the team that's running the ball better. Start Watson, start golden now. Tyson Baygent we're not going to start. Probably not. He had a solid game just five week replacement in the super flex league obviously. But the other guy. I mean you are talking about case key in a matter of strong game Tyson Baygent wasn't bad. So Ben Johnson's offense works. But Baygent got a little lucky on this team are tough. I mean they are tough. I think let's just start with Loveland here and then we'll work on the the committees, the backfield and the receivers. Loveland may not be a backfield for many. They're might not be and then that would be an easy decision obviously. Yes. Loveland is 12 for Jamie 15th for Dave 21st for Heath. Gaseki or Loveland. For Gaseki if the receivers are out. Yep. And if one if Chase plays or Higgins plays. I still might go Gaseki if one. Yep. But if they're both there then I'll take Loveland over Gaseki. Yeah. All right. You guys don't have that. I mean there's reasons to be encouraged by Loveland. It's obviously not go back to him as a must-start guy. But you do have a nine target game. Like that's what we're asking for from him is to not necessarily be nine per week but you know anything north of six is encouraging. And so after the sluggish start I don't know if it's a Beijing thing. I don't know if it's a Ben Johnson thing. I don't know if it was a matchup thing last week against the Jets. There is a history with these two teams obviously and they played each other three times after week 14 last year. In two of those games Loveland was 12 ppr points or more including the monster game in the playoffs. Any average 14.2 ppr points against this defense. So you're again now down a linebacker now looking at this way the way that this team has played and how much that the bears had the ball and Dave talked about how he targeted Beijing targeted Odunze. Loveland's to let the team in targets. You know so this is an opportunity here for him to hopefully build off this as opposed to regress. So I think if you were looking at it depending on who your streaming tight end had been in place of Loveland. If you took John Johnson you should stick with John Johnson. If you took if you drafted Loveland and likely or Loveland and Kittle you know you're starting those guys over Loveland for this week. I would start Loveland over Kinkade. I just think the matchup is brutal when you've seen two bad games for Kinkade and the route participation and the playing time has changed a little bit for Kinkade the last couple weeks. So for me I would lean Loveland but fair argument. I just think you're looking at it right now is like this is why you invested in this guy was to be featured in the offense and he finally was featured in the offense. Was it a huge game six for 57? No way but nearly a touch that's what you're nearly had a touch down two weeks and we've been saying that about Loveland almost every week this season. Two weeks in a row two weeks in a row. But now we're talking about the involvement and if the involvement's there I'm going to start. All right so that's the one big difference is that his target per route rate went crazy in week four. It was it was practically 35 percent. So more than one out of every three throws from Tyson Bayesian was going to close in Loveland. That's amazing. Does it continue? That's what worries me and so I don't want to get too excited. I'm going to I'm he's just outside of my top 12 and he might get pushed in there if all these other receivers end up coming back healthy in Cincinnati and Minnesota. Well you heard earlier Dave like so doonze better than burden Jamie likes burden better than Odoonze Adam likes relief Raymond better than George Pickens. No not anymore. We're not going to start relief Raymond. He's 53 percent rastered. Real quick all right I've got a lot of questions about the Bears receivers that should help but we'd start both Packers receivers over them right. Yes yes. Josh Downs are a Bears receiver. How do you rank them Dave Odoonze down. Doonze burden down. Doonze burden down okay. Keon Coleman are a Bears receiver. Khalil Shakir are a Bears receiver. Bears receiver. Bird in Coleman.
Shakir Odunzay if more is out. - And Dave, what's your order? - Odunzay, burden, Shakir Coleman. All at minimum number three wide receivers. - Now, if Menongai doesn't play easily Swift to the moon, if Menongai does play Jamie, how do you view them? - I view Swift as a high-end number two running back. Must start guy still and Menongai as a low-end number two running back high-end flex. - How would you view them compared to a manual Wilson again, San Francisco? - I would go Swift, Wilson, Menongai. - How about versus Luther Burton? - I would start both Bears running backs over Luther Burton. - They have only had double digit PPR fantasy points in the same game three times in two years. And one of them was actually before Menongai became a thing. So I know it's tempting 'cause they are running like incredibly well as a team. But one of them was the season, right, week one. - Yes. Yup, week one they both had 20 or more. Week seven, week 13 of last year and week one of this year. I think that's pretty much it. Let's check the comments here. Questions from the chat, Odunzay or Shakir? - We answered that, I'll go room. I would go Shakir if more is out. - Burton or Valle? - Burton. - I believe I have Burton a few spots higher than Valle, yes. - Golden, Downs or Dante Myers? - Golden. Golden's gonna be the guy even if the Bengals receiver set. - Crafter Higby. - Crafter, K-R-A-F-T. - K-R-A-F-T or F-A-N-N-I-N-J-R. - You gotta put a space in between the N and the J. - I did, I paused. - It's the craft for me. - Craft, put us close. - Odunzay or Karnel Tate? - Tate. - I have Odunzay ahead of Tate. - Christian Watson or Matthew Golden? - Watson. - Agreed. - Matthew Golden or DeAndre Swift? - Swift? - Swifty. - I'll start Golden. - Especially when I guys out. - If Menongue is in, I think I'll start Golden. Otherwise, Swift. - They're close. - Golden or Tuton? - Golden. - Agreed. - There's the SD starter set. - I don't mind 'em. - Low end starter. - I think they can get to the quarterback. I think they can rack up some sacks and maybe even find a turnover or two. - We'll be back to talk about San Francisco at Seattle when we return on Fantasy Football today. - The Strato Tech T from Viori is one of those shirts you put on once and immediately get why people love it. It's incredibly soft. Stretches with you, dries fast, and still looks sharp enough to wear from a workout to the ballpark without missing a beat. It's become my go-to-t for pretty much everything. Visit the website for full terms and conditions. - San Francisco at Seattle and just something that I don't like for San Francisco's offense. They have been becoming more pass-heavy each of the last two years. They are now 29th and pass rate. I don't like that. No, I don't think anyone has more than eight targets. Everyone's targets are down, like the Caffrey's targets are down. So Brock Perty's averaging 28.3 pass attempts per game. It's only four games and things can change, but I'd love to see them throw the ball a little bit more. Maybe they'll have to in this game. All right, like you've got all these must-start guys, Jamie, for the 49ers and they're facing the team that basically humiliated them twice at the end of last year. Are you trying to get away from any of the must-start guys for San Francisco? - It's so hard to with the two teams going to buy in all the injuries. Really, it comes down to how much do you trust Mike Evans and Debo Samuel, because Perty's having an MVP season. You're not benching him. Kiddell is Kiddell. A Caffrey's not benching him. So do you have replacement options for Evans or Debo? I think just looking at it, Seattle's secondary has obviously been amazing. There's only been one receiver so far with double digits in PPR. That was Terry McClure and number two and a few as fantasy points allowed to the position. So I think if you're just, you know, they're probably just considered high and they should be considered high end number three receivers. Or for me, I have it as Evans is a high end number three receiver. Debo is just a mid-tier number three receiver. So it's probably gonna be, it's gonna come down to who gets the touchdown if they do catch one. I have more faith in Evans doing that than I do Debo. Just keep in mind both these guys weren't on the roster last year when they played them. So that changes things a little bit. Plus, you might not have learned Williams secondary has still been a little bit questionable for Seattle by comparison to last year in terms of just the overall play. Not in terms of the production allowed. So we'll see how good Purti is against his defense. It's not gonna be easy. So, you know, just don't expect. I think this to be one of those weeks where Purti McAfrie and Kittle and their receivers lead you to your fantasy victory. You just hope that they help you get there and not ruin your week. - If you have Stafford and Gough, definitely start them over Purti. Other than that, you know, maybe Trevor Lawrence, Dave has Lawrence one spot ahead of Purti. Jamie has Purti two spots ahead of Lawrence. Heathen has them back to back. But we're not starting Jaden Daniels and we're not starting percent over Purti. But you guys have, you both have Purti one spot ahead of Purti. So if somebody wanted to take that gamble, it's certainly not crazy. And then Kittle, yeah, I mean, even Seattle last year, they weren't very good against tight ends. And who's sitting George Kittle at this point? We'll talk more about, I'm sure we'll have some Evans and Debo questions in a minute. Oh, what was I gonna say? I don't remember. Dave, for Seattle, Sam Darnold, you have him 19th. I think Jamie has him 17th. How do you feel about Emmanuel Wilson? Is he a must start after last week? - He's gotta be because of the workload alone. And because we can expect him to see North of 15 touches, maybe even a couple of catches, he caught a touchdown last week. And we know he's the goal line guy for the Seahawks. I just think you roll with that as reasons for him as a number two running back. - All right, I don't know. - There's two floor situations where I think matter here. 12.3 PBR points are more in every game. 49ers a lot of running back to hit that number. And 11.7 PBR points. Seven of 10 games in Wilson's career. We've had at least 10 carries. He's hit that number. So there's a 70% success right here if he's getting 10 carries, which barring injury should happen, then you're looking at hopefully him hitting that number. That puts him in the range when number two running back right out of the gate. And so the role in the passing game was important last week. He's gonna continue to have the role of the goal line. I just don't see anybody on the roster taking him off the field for significant stretches again, barring and injury. So it's not the easiest to matchups, but there are numbers here that suggest that if he just gets the work that he's been getting, he at least got last week that he should be successful. - It's not the easiest to matchups. They're given up 3.9 yards per carry to running backs. But you know, find a running back and get 24 touches and tell me you're sitting that guy, you know, it's-- - They can't do it. You can't expect what he did last week though. And then just the one other point that's worth bringing up here is-- - Is this the game of the week game? - Wow. This is the day where we had the sea hawks where you kind of took the bills and the rams are being named. So it's the game of the week, hey! - We better have two games of the week this week. - What's wrong with this game, Niner's at sea? - NFL Y, this is an amazing game. It's an amazing game, but I don't know if I'm ready to start everybody in this game. We're talking, we just went over reasons why we're a little pessimistic for the receivers. - The bananza has been retired for years, for years. This is not the bananza. This is just the game of the week. And you ruined the bills rams with your unique thing in music, by the way, I will say. I had completely forgotten about game of the week until you did that. So I do thank you for ruining bills rams. - I don't believe that. - I swear to you. - There's no way. - I swear. If I don't know if I would let you host another ride of it, if you forgot game of the week again. I forget all the time. But let's let's go. What's that? - It's the offensive coordinator for Seattle. His name's Brian. That's his name. - Where did he, Brian Florey? - Okay, yeah. - And where did he used to work? - At Marvel. - Let's go. - Not at Marvel. - A furry or a flurry? - No, the dairy queen would have been the better joke because of Florey, although it's a blizzard at dairy queen. - Nick Fury. - Look. - Yeah, so maybe a different fast food. - In fact, I get to go with that as a present. (laughing) - Impressive? I don't know. Impressive. It's the right word. I think Kyle Shannon will be on top of that and the defense will be on top of that and that could make things harder for Wilson. You're still starting him. It's the workload. It's the opportunity. But I don't think he does nearly as well as he did last week. - CBS, feel free to hire me so that I can remind Adam about the game of the week. Thank you, Mel. - You're hired, Mel. (laughing) - Say it in a resume. All right, bird in or Mike Evans. - Evans. - Bird in. - Nice beard, itch. That was day of itching that beard, very vocal. - Oh, you could hear that? - Yeah, that's the problem. - I'm sorry, that's terrible. I apologize. - Evans or Watson? - Watson. - Christian Watson. - Darnold or Persept? - Persept, Jacobi. - Lawrence or Purdy? - Purdy, Trevor. - Evans Valle or Roman Wilson? - Evans. - Purdy or cousins? - Purdy, agreed. - A manual Wilson or a beat up Ashton Gentie? - A beat up Ashton Gentie. - Gentie, but it's close. - Evans or Jalen Warren in the flex? - That's not close, Jalen Warren. - How is that not? - Are we sure it's Jalen Warren? - It's a doubtful place. - Still Warren. - It's still Warren.
close. Pertie or Jacobi Prasette. Pretty job Brock Pertie. Emanuel Wilson or Braylon Allen. Both of you. The initials are EW, so I said who? Now, I will say this about Pertie. Last year, you look at his game log. He did not do well against tough opponents and he destroyed easy opponents. This year, he's already done well against the Rams. Now, the Rams were sleep deprived, so I don't know if that counts. And he scored 23 points last week against the Broncos. It was a bit of a struggle, honestly. And it picked up when Sir Tan got hurt. And George Kittle had that late touchdown. So he didn't play great. It was the worst game Pertie's played this year. But already, he's had two good performances against really good defenses. Seattle's DST, they're about eighth in the rankings. I suppose you can get away from them. Or you could just one of the best DSTs against a team that gives up the fewest fantasy points at DSTs. I wouldn't drop the stocks. You could take your lumps and then use them next week against Denver. OK, another tough game. And I think one of the good things about Tyler Schuck is that he gets that rid of the ball quickly, even when he's not being blitz. He-- he-- one of the fastest releases in the NFL-- not like how fast he actually throws the ball, but how quickly he gets the ball out of his hand. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. Look, the easy ones in this game are what? Aaron Jones-- like, you're talking about the best matchup right now in fantasy, the Saints give up the most fantasy points, the running backs, 5.3 yards per carry. 5.2 yards per carry. They have faced amazing running backs, though. Start, Aaron Jones. I assume Justin Jefferson is a no-brainer if he plays. Yep. If he doesn't play, then it gets a little trickier. Who's a better player at his position if Jefferson's out? Addison or Hawkinson? I think you've got to go Hawkinson at this point, just based on what we saw last week and how Kyler's playing. So it's-- I hope it's close, meaning that they both play well, and Addison has a big game. Because look, two weeks ago it was Addison in the game. The Jefferson got hurt against Tampa Bay. Yeah. Last week, it was Hawkinson and against Adolphin's defensively. You could see both playing well against New Orleans. I think you just go with the-- I would just go with the hot hand and go Hawkinson, who had 13 targets as we-- Are you guys ranking Jefferson? I'm sure we will after today if he practices again. OK. And if Jefferson plays, would you start Kyler Murray or Tyler Schuck? Chuck. Chuck. Kyler Murray or Kirk Cousins? Cousins. I hope Kyler comes out and has a good game. They have yet to play a full game together. Kyler and Murray. So we have no idea what this will look like. Kyler and Murray. How about Kyler and Jefferson? They've yet to play a full game together. So it would be nice to see something positive, and then you could say, OK, maybe this is a quarterback to use moving forward. He's averaging 11 fantasy points per game. So it's been ugly. You think they played Call of Duty together yet? No. Wow, they haven't even done that yet. Wow. So Tyler Schuck is about 11th or 12th in the rankings. And yeah, we know the deal here. Jordan Love had a good game on 42 pass attempts. Kyler Williams was terrible. Baker Mayfield was terrible. Malik Willis was beyond terrible against the men outside of eye rankings. And Tyler Schuck does lead the NFL in pass attempts, so certainly could have 40 plus. And then Alvin Camera, starters it, Dave. Don't want to start them. Don't love the matchup forum. Touchdown dependent. Although we had a couple of nice targets, and they tried to get them going even a little bit more than they did, high end number three running back. Camera or Devon Valey? I go Valey. Need your reaction as Valey. One thing I don't like about Valey, he has been so far one of the least efficient wide receivers in football. More is that he doesn't get targeted that much. But 51 wide receivers have 20 or more targets. Devon Valey is 45th out of 51 in yards per out run. He's 39th in yards per catch. He's 36 in yards per target. That's not good. But he's 47th out of 51 wide receivers in target per out run rate. They just don't throw to him a lot. They just don't throw to Joanne Johnson that much. Those guys are only succeeding because they're throwing more than any team in football. If you get a game with 35 pass attempts for Tyler Schuck and the rates, the target per out run rates basically stay the same, you're going to be in trouble with Valey and Joanne Johnson. I just want to point that out. They're going to have to score probably. But I don't think that'll be this week. Yeah, you never know, right? Like we didn't think. Of course you never know. All right, that's why they play the games. But there is a game in Kellen Moore's history where he went up against Flores when he was with the Vikings and granted different team, different quarterback, better quarterback, Ed Justin Herbert. I think that's a better quarterback. Diled up almost 50 pass plays in that game. And it was all about getting the ball out fast and they outscored Minnesota to win that game. And I wonder if Kellen Moore is just going to settle on, okay, I don't have a run game. I know that I need Tyler Schuck to get the ball quick. Adam, you talked about that Schuck's doing a lot of that already. Maybe that's their game plan. And then so volume is king, it has been king. And I think you can buy into it for everybody in the New Orleans passing game. I'm fascinated to see what's going to happen when Tyson returns to everybody, but mostly Valey and Joanne Johnson. 'Cause they've been so serviceable. And it's hard to envision that continuing. I would put it like a 20% chance, but I really think Jordan Tyson could be, not exactly a league winner, but close. I just think he's so much more talented than the other guys other than Olave. - On the volume. - Yeah, yeah, right, exactly. And combine that with the volume. And I think Tyler Schuck, I had doubts about how good he was. I think those doubts for me are gone. I think he's a good player. It could be really exciting for Jordan Tyson, who's still a few weeks away, but definitely someone you wanna stash if you can. All right, my last question here, we'll do something like 'cause Devon Valey's like 28th, 29th, Cameras right around the same range actually at running back. Weird kind of note that, I don't know, for whatever reason, in his history, Tyler Schuck, when he's blitzed, he has an 8% running back target rate. I don't know what that's all about, but you would think like against this team, like this is what the Bears did. Don't put off to the Andre Swift and he had a big game as a receiver. Maybe we can get five or more catches from Camera, hopefully, and give him a little bit of a floor. But my last question is, when you put Johan Johnson, Tyler Schuck, Devon Valey, and Camera in your lineup, are you concerned about the Saints scoring, like seven points in this game and just being horrible? What is your level of concern about the Saints being complete duds? - Hi. - Hi. - How are you? - No, I'm not, it's not high for me. It would be at most medium. Camera or Will Shipley in the chat. - Camera, I think I have Shipley higher. - Valey or Digs? - Digs, stuff on if he plays. - Valey or Roman Wilson? - I struggle with that one right now, Valey. I believe I have Roman Wilson higher. - Let's see, do I have anything else from this game? - I do not, I have Valey higher. - A lot of Tyson stuff in here. Valey, wow, really, not a lot of questions from this game. All right, I guess I have to do it myself. Valey or Valey or Ali Gordon, PPR. - Valey, I think I like Valey better. - Valey or RJ Harvey? - I'll take Valey, so. - And what's our next game here, we're done with this game. Start the Vikings, DST. You guys don't have them as a super high end starter, but they're start worthy. - Oh, here's the big one, Giants at the commanders. - How we sound? - Division winning Giants. - Listen, man, if the Eagles lose at 9.30 a.m. and then the Giants win at 1 p.m. - Wow. - That's I think a two game lead in the division. - Dave, do you really? - It's over at that point. - Yeah, it's completely over. Do you have James Winston 9th? - I do. - You know where he's in that group for me. - I know, he doesn't even have a right. - Not in the top 24. - Yeah, no, I get it. And the downside for James Winston is 27 pass attempts, no touchdowns, three interceptions. The upside forum is almost a little bit better than what he gave you last week. I think the commander's run defense is for real. I think their pass rush is a paper tiger and I think they're secondary is terrible. And so last week proved that if James has a little time, he can still make reads and get the ball where he needs it to go. I thought both of his touchdowns were actually good and the timing was a little bit sharper. The release was a little bitty bit sharper. There are still issues obviously with him where you look at him and you go, this guy is not even like a top 25 quarterback in the league. But if the giants can't run the ball, it's gonna fall on Winston's shoulders. And I think the case can be made that he can get you to, let's call it 250 yards and a couple of touchdowns. And that's not amazing for fantasy, but we know that if the commanders can play back and Jane Daniels brings it, then he's gonna have to do more than that. So I like him. I probably have him rank two I and it's somebody I need to lower. But I think he could still be a top 12 QB. - Okay, I love the ball take there. Jamie, do we like him? - Yeah, well, I mean, there's one other thing. All every quarterback to fake face Washington, except for Daniel.
Jones who's a mess had at least 30 fantasy points this season. Yeah. Without a room. So I can't ignore that. I can't turn my nose up at that, even though James is not, he doesn't look good, but the opportunity in the matchup is good. I just turned my nose up at the camera. I really hope there was nothing up there. Jamie, can we trust? I'm sorry. No. Of the running backs in this game, any of the running backs in this game, it's unfortunate that the commanders actually have a very good run defense. The giants have a terrible run defense. You wish the matchups were switched, but can you trust any running back in this game? I'm starting scatable. You know the fact that they've been using him in past nut situations is good, so hopefully that continues. But it's not with the expectation of a huge game, so that being said, you know, scatable is not Jonathan Taylor. Taylor still had, you know, typical Jonathan Taylor production, it was touchdowns. So hopefully that's what happens with scatable this week. But you know, he's in that low end number two running back range. The commander is the is the backfill you got to keep an eye on because jacory crossing merit on the injury report, shot bites on the injury report, Austin nuclear. I don't think they'll give him, you know, his his full workload. And part of the reason I think that they got rid of cage on Alan is Jeremy Minnickle's practice window opened off of the public. So we'll see if he's going to be somebody that they use as well is just again repetitive skill set with jacory crossing merit, just not as fast. So what will they end up doing? I don't think Minnickle plays this week, but Eccler, somebody I think is worth stashing because if Rashad White can't go and Eccler has that role in the passing game, didn't really have a last week, but obviously that's his skill set. You know, is that something that they can, you know, lean on moving forward, depending on what they decided to do with Rashad White? So it's just really hard to have any faith in the commanders back. But I think if they're all healthy, I would still lean toward Bill. Just, you know, this is a game that the commanders play with elite. I would probably help him in, in, in regard to, I think Giants win, but I'm just saying as a game for the commanders, clearly, I think the commanders probably win this game. But if they're missing both digs and McLaren, that would be pro, then I think the Giants would win. And then we, you know, we're going to get a lot of questions about Antonio Williams. And he played, even with just one guy missing last week, he played a ton. They had a third string quarterback in, didn't have a big game, but he had a big touchdown called back. There's enough. Hey, targets. What's that? Hey, targets. Can you hear, even if just one of those guys is out, I wonder if we're sleeping on Antonio Williams. Dave, what do you think? I think we are a little, well, I am a little bit and he should be higher in my rankings. And with Jane Daniels back, you know, the one thing that stands out to me about Daniels from what we saw in his, whatever was six, seven quarters of, of play so far, he liked Stefan Diggs. And he was leaning on him quite a bit. But he also evolved a little bit with Antonio Williams. We saw him week one Antonio Williams had the touchdown. If there's no McLaren, it's not like, it's not like Antonio Williams. There's plays in the McLaren role. But he clearly can see opportunities and there are plays designed for him. So I think he should be in the number three receiver conversation and full PPR. Okay. I'd also like to comment on, on Scataboo, just one other thing that I know as we talked about coverages and what does it mean? And it's a small sample size. James has barely played this year, but it against two eyes zone. The top guy and target per out run is Isaiah likely. That's not a big surprise. He's blowing away everybody else on the charts. Bowling neighbors is next at 24%. Scataboo is next at 22%. And Scataboo is averaging almost two and a half yards per out run when he's facing zone and two high safeties. And that's what the commanders do a lot of. And I think that's the reason to go over the top on Scataboo. It's not because you're hoping he scores a touchdown. It's not just because he's going to be 15 touches. It looks like James looks warm and he checks down to him. And that's somebody who can get you some easy fantasy points. I love it. It's tough. Well, Jamie, give me the rundown on the commander's wide receivers. Could we talk about Williams, but where are you going to rank digs? Where are you going to rank McClaurren if they play if one plays? It's, it's a tough moving pieces here. I'm very skeptical McClaurren plays because after missing last week and not returning to practice, I'd be hesitant to trust him. So if digs plays and McClaurren plays, I will rank digs ahead of McClaurren for this week. If one of them is out, assuming McClaurren is out and digs plays, he is a number two I'd receiver. And Antonio Williams is a mid tier number three receiver. If they are both out, Antonio Williams is a high end number three receiver, similar in the same range of what the Bill's guys would be if DJ Moore is out behind Dante Myers. If the Bengals guys are out, meaning both. And in the same sort of range of Devon Vela and Roman Wilson and those guys. So I think you got to give him, like right now, if you're listening to the show, go pick him up because you always drop him if you have to for hopefully somebody else that has some long term value. But short term, this may be a great opportunity to trust Antonio Williams because it could be the number one receiver for the commanders and a positive match up against the giants. Starts. Likely, he's fifth for these guys. Start neighbors. Jane Daniels is 9th or 10th for these guys. We talked about him in one question for each game. We have a lot of questions from the chat about this game. I went up against Bucky Irving. Should I play likely or craft and half PPR? Likely, likely, likely, loveland or Dalton Schultz and non PPR, likely. Agreed. Daniels are shook. Daniels. Agreed. I don't know. I might go shuck over Daniels. Amani Tumor, Santana Moss. Santana. Yeah. Moss. Daniels in the rain. Yeah, I might rain in this game. Daniels in the rain or Jalen Hertz versus the Jags. Daniels. What other quarterbacks are on waivers? Well, we got to drop Hertz. I mean, I think you could. Maybe. Bill or Brian Robinson, Jr. I think I have it right now, Bill, but I'm going to change that and go Robinson. I have Bill higher. Jane Daniels or Jacobi Brissett? Brissett. Brissett. Okay. Start one. Dobbs. No, no, start two. Dobbs, Shakir, Antonio Williams, Loveland and Higby. If the top two commanders receivers are out at Go Williams, if more is out, I probably will go Shakir. Next. Sorry. Ask us something. Dobbs. That's a good spot. Yeah. That's a good spot. All right. Last one. Jacori Crosby, Marit, Marvin Harrison, Jr. or Adams, nose hairs. What's the target program your nose hairs don't you nose hairs? I don't have to trim my nose hairs there. It's tough. Wow. Yeah. They know where they know where to be. All right. Next game. Next game is Buffalo with the Rams. It doesn't count. You don't think you're ready for it. Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford. Allen, but it's close. It's almost Allen by default because you know that he can put on the Superman cape and run for a bunch of touchdowns. I agree. It's close. I'll play a different song for this game. Just for fun. Start James Cook, start Kaird Williams. One thing I'll just point out about James Cook, if you're looking to trade or whatever. He started the season with seven targets in his first two games. Since Ty Johnson has come back, Johnson's eaten into some of the routes run on first and second down. So the targets have been down for James Cook. But he's the man. We've talked so much about the bills wide receivers throughout the week, and we're not expecting to E.J. More at this point. I don't even know what else to say. Please go to one question for each game for that. Dave is higher on Concade than Jamie. I don't know if I should be. Look, let me say this about Concade real quick. He has five targets in his last two games. This is the fourth. Combine. Combine. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Fourth time in his career, he's had consecutive games with fewer than five targets. He usually balances back. He usually don't go away from him, three straight games. I feel like you have to sort of not look at the recent trends and just think overall about who Dalton Concade is and how much they might need him in this game. Right. Yeah. And so the question is, is his route share dropping because he's not healthy or he's falling out of favor in the Buffalo offense? It was only one game. It was only one game where the route ran. I know, but people have pointed to that as a reason why you should get away from Concade because now it's looking like 20, 25 Concade. I thought what the Patriots did to take him away was actually brilliant and I'm a little nervous. They do the same thing to Bowers and they're just finding defenders to just get hands on Concade. That's what they did last week. They got hands on Concade as soon as they could. He would run. He would face one defender. He'd be stopped. He'd run another defender or get hands on. It was like he was double teamed and taken out from Josh Allen's Reader. And I think the bills reacted by saying, all right, let's just get him out of there so that they can't do that. And they played the least amount of multiple tight-end formations that they had all year last week against the Patriots. I don't know if the Rams are going to do the exact same thing, but what I will tell you is that the Rams, it's not just the 85 total yards that they've allowed to tie to ends and granted they've been played a ton of great tight-ends in the circumstances are what they are. Teams have thrown to their tight-ends 29 times against the Rams this year and only 12 of those 29 passes of Concade. They have been outstanding covering tight-ends and that might be what sends him tumbling down in my rankings because if the Rams are already proving that, yeah, against average to above average tight-ends, they're able to really limit their effectiveness. I don't think we can look at Donald and continue.
and say, "Yeah, he's a superstar tight-end." I think you've got to be significantly nervous about him. I have him ranked too high. I'm going to move him down. Yeah, and the last thing on him is if you look at Concade's season. First of all, he doesn't run that many routes to begin with. It's 68% basically is the max. That's fine. It's not really good enough for consistency, I think, unless you're just the best tight-end in the world. And week one against Houston, he had a big game. He only had six targets. He had like a bunch of big plays. Week two is against Detroit. So maybe we just overrated him a little bit. The Detroit bump. Yeah, the Detroit bump for sure. Week one was encouraging, but it was just like all these big plays. All right, Shakira and Coleman will get to in a minute. As far as the Rams go, Stafford, we love this week. He's top three, Kyron Yes, Korum No. I didn't know until I watched the tape. Devante Adams had officially two drops. In my opinion, three drops last week. Two of them were big plays. One of them was a perfect throw in the end zone. So he could have had a huge game. So I assume we're just totally fine with Adams this week. Against his defense. Absolutely. Absolutely. All right, let's do it. And then Tyler Higby is top 15 or 16. If Parkinson plays, you're going to lower Higby? I think you got to be concerned. You know, the question becomes is, who do they prefer as they're receiving tight-end? Because you know, they're going to play a lot of multiple tight-end sets. And for two games, it's been Higby by circumstance. One was without Puka and Parkinson got hurt and Ferguson got hurt. The next one was without both tight-ends. So I would be concerned if Parkinson plays, because last year in similar situation, Parkinson was the preferred receiving tight-end. So it's just hard to say there's safety or guaranteed production here. So I have Higby as a streamer because of some injuries and whatnot. And I'm hoping that he's the guy, but it's a Monday night game. And so we may not know. So you'd like to have Parkinson ruled out ahead of time just to know that the opportunity is there for Higby and you go up to worry about it. And somebody mentioned something in chat earlier in regards to me saying, you know, Coleman or Shakir in regards to DJ more. It's really, if you have DJ more, you're picking up these guys, because you don't want to take the chance of more playing on Monday, unless he's rolled out. That's why, at least for me, why I'm saying Coleman or Shakir. It's a lot like a handcuffed situation. Now, if you are picking those guys up, you got to, you know, deal with the news on Sunday. And hopefully we get some clarity that did not practice Saturday for DJ more. Then you know that key on Coleman or Shakir. If those are the guys you're looking at are going to have the opportunity to start. All right. Let me see if I have any chat questions here about this game. Coleman, Veilayer, Dobbs, non-peasy. Well, you said you wanted to get into the receivers. Yeah, but we did in one question for each game. I don't want to be repetitive. Yeah, Coleman, Veilayer, Dobbs. I would go with non-PPR, Dobbs. If it's non-PPR, I think I like Dobbs best, too. Question here from Adam, he says, I have a ranked Veilayer, Coleman, Dobbs and full PPR. Coleman or Roman Wilson. Well, I've got Coleman a little bit ahead of Roman. I don't know if I like that. I might go Wilson Coleman or Shipley. Coleman, if more is out, agreed. Kormann Menongai, that's got to be Menongai, if he plays Coleman or Braylon Allen, standard scoring. Allen, Braylon Allen. Coleman or Luther Birden? Birden, birden. All right, and just to wrap it up, where do you guys have Coleman rank? Where do you have Shakir ranked? Coleman's at 30. Shakir is like 32 or 33. I've got Coleman at 30. I'm sorry Shakir at 30. Coleman at 31 among receivers. Okay, I think the next two games we can do pretty quickly here, Detroit at Arizona. I mean, start all your lions, except James and Williams is going to be, I guess, a tough call, but you're starting him. I think so. 19th for Jamie 13th for Dave. And then go off his top three, the port as a must start. Brasette is 8th for Dave. Another former coordinator facing his former team. Yeah, yes. Portonator facing his former team. Yep. Call at Brasette 6th for Jamie 8th for Dave. I'm going to light up one spot behind Brock Purdy. And then Jeremiah Love, Tyler, like, we would still start love over Al Jere, right? Yeah, of course, yeah, I encourage everyone to go listen to the one question for each game portion for this because we talked a lot about James and Williams and Jeremiah Love. Like, David's hesitant on Jeremiah Love and Jamie's got him six, like seven or eight spots higher in the rankings, I believe. Let's say I'll do some Jeremiah Love's Jeremiah Love. You could potentially get a squeaky wheel game here for Jeremiah Love after what he said. It's true. Jeremiah Love or Breel and Allen. Allen Love Jeremiah Love or Quinch on Judkins. Judkins. Love or Ramondre. Ramondre Love. Al Jere or Brian Robinson Jr. Robinson, I'll take Al Jere. Al Jere, Camara. Camara. Al Jere. No, I've Camara, my bad. Sit, sit, Marvin Harrison. Maybe that's a great en slip. Are any interested in Marvin Harrison? No, not till he gets traded. Michael Wilson is a must start. Michael Wilson or James and Williams. James and Michael Wilson. Okay. Tremac pride or Jacobi Berset, who scores more points? McBride. Number one, potentially number one Tide and number one and number two versus the best matchup. We like Tremac pride this week. But again, you know, five point five year and eight. Brian Berset may play. All right. Still we're going to fire up Tremac pride. Baltimore. Yeah, it's not mean that that'll change anything, but it does help. Should help. Baltimore at Atlanta. Is there a single tough call in this game, assuming Tyler Huntley starts? Andrews. I love the track record of Andrews with Huntley. I don't know why last year he had three catches for 34 yards in week eight. And he had four catches for 28 yards in week 17 in the two starts for Tyler Huntley. I'm looking a little bit deeper than two games last year. And when Huntley was certainly in the swing of things, Andrews was his guy. This is an offense that does have a lot of tight end usage and calls for not all of them go to Andrews. And Andrews kind of had his get right touchdown last week. When was this? I don't know. I don't love Mark Andrews, but I think that he's in the conversation of a low end Tide end in full PPR. You started over pits. I'd start almost anybody over Kyle pits, which is start Andrews or hit. Are your nose hairs available to play this week? And I think I'll take that's over the nose hairs. Andrews or Higby? For now, Higby higher. I mean, you got to keep an eye. Rashad Bateman is banged up in this game too. So I think he's full practice yesterday though. He is based up here. You're right. I'll check. I'll double check. Um, but I think the thing is, Dave is like, yeah, it used to be good with Huntley and Andrews. But once say flowers became the target hog last year, he's the one that that got all the targets. So you still, uh, he, he, I just, I just, and you still would start, say flowers in no hesitation. You have to, yeah, you can have all the hesitation you want. And there isn't a great track record with receivers with Tyler Huntley. Like, like I'm telling you, like the career track record for Tyler Huntley is, you know, on the Tide end, sometimes lead on the running backs, don't take a lot of shots downfield. The stat is 4 of 14 games. A wide receivers had 14 plus PPR points when Tyler Huntley has started. That includes a playoff game. Yeah. And it makes me, it just, it, it obviously dims the upside for Z flowers. But what are, what are we doing if you're sitting Z, who are you starting over Z flowers? Well, would you start like Michael Wilson over Z flowers? I would not, I would, I would not. Dave, would you start Jamison Williams over Z flowers? I would not. How about a manual Wilson over Z flowers? I would not, non KPR, yes. Okay. And start Henry, start Beijon, we already talked about Brian Robinson, Jr. Don't start Kyle Pitz, start Drake London. And last question in a super flex league, who's the best option? Tyson Baygent or one of the quarterbacks in this game? I go panics. I, uh, I think I would go panics for sure. By the way, the stat of the game was that Atlanta is home to the world's largest drive in restaurant. It's called the varsity and they are varsity. Yes. Oh, varsity is great. I've never had, I'd never heard of it. Much and very, what until yesterday when I was looking up fun facts about Atlanta? Oh, yeah. The varsity is great. FAQs
Bucky Irving showed strong potential in goal-line situations, and he's a valuable starter with good value. However, his value may be slightly inflated due to limited offensive support. If you have running back depth, consider trading him for a receiver with injury concerns or underperformance.
Yes, Jake Ferguson is a reliable option. He has high target share and has scored multiple touchdowns in previous games. With C.D. Lam out, Ferguson could see more targets and is a strong fantasy addition for the Cowboys.
Yes, George Kittle is a must-start for the 49ers. He has consistently performed well in key situations and is a reliable target, especially when the offense keeps the game short and avoids long-yardage plays.
Tyler Schuck is a low-end starter with upside, especially against the Saints. While the Vikings face a tough defensive matchup, Schuck has shown mobility and quick release, giving him a chance to succeed in high-pressure situations.
Mike Evans is a high-end number three receiver, but with limited targets, he’s not a must-start. His performance is more consistent when the offense is under pressure, and he may not be the best fit if the defense is strong.
Yes, Emmanuel Wilson is a solid number two running back with a high workload and consistent production. He has a strong goal-line role and should be considered a starter if he receives 10+ touches per game.
