Week 5 Start Sit Advice (Part 1) | MUST-Start Players & Big Names to AVOID (10/08 Fantasy Football Podcast)
81m 15s
Fantasy football analysts discuss a week filled with injuries, weather risks, and unpredictable matchups. Key players like Jayden Daniels, Braylon Allen, and Emmanuel Wilson are recommended as must-start options due to favorable matchups and recent performance. Wide receivers such as Ramandre Stevenson and Alvin Camera face significant risk due to injury concerns and poor defensive coverage, especially against the Rams and Vikings. The Eagles vs. Jaguars game is viewed as a high-risk pick due to multiple offensive line injuries and a struggling offensive scheme. Trevor Lawrence is highlighted as a top-tier quarterback with strong completion percentages and a favorable matchup. Running backs like Traveon Henderson and Jalen Hurts are seen as potential breakout candidates if key starters are sidelined. Injury reports from practices, including limited appearances from players like T Higgins, Jamar Chase, and Keenan Allen, add uncertainty to lineups. The team also emphasizes the importance of weather, particularly with a hurricane threatening the Gulf Coast and possible rain on the East Coast. Ultimately, players are advised to prioritize flexibility, watch for injury updates, and consider matchups involving poor defensive lines or volume-heavy offenses. The analysis concludes with a focus on high-upside players and caution against overreliance on injured or limited players.
>> This is fantasy football today from CBS sports. >> So what a play, can you believe this? >> It's a no again. >> It's time to dominate your fantasy lead. >> Go to the races, play stays at his feet. Just gotta go to the distance. >> Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath. [MUSIC] >> Okay, week five, let's dance, let's do it. I have a feeling I might hate fantasy week five when it's all said and done. I'll tell you why in a little bit. Welcome to the show, everybody. Whether you love it or hate it, we're still gonna set our lineups and have fun. And hopefully win our leagues. I'm Adam Azer, with Jamie Isberk, Jamie, which game are you most excited about this week? >> I was torn when you asked me those 30 seconds ago between the Lions and the Cardinals and the Bills and the Rams. And I think I'm gonna go to Lions Cardinals. I think it's gonna be a lot of fun, a lot of points. It's the fantasy bananza that we crave. We're very thankful for Lions Cardinals this week. Heath, which game would you make your worst enemy watch? >> There are so many this week. >> Really, a lot of great options, but I will go with Giants Commanders. >> Are you trying to tell me something? Because I will be watching that game. On paper, it is looking like just to me in my opinion, such a bad week for quarterbacks. If you go through the quarterbacks and where they currently rank, not the weekly rankings, but where they rank in fantasy points this season. Josh Allen is QB1, he faces the Rams. They allow the fewest yards per attempt in the NFL. QB2 is Brock Purdy. The last two times he faced the Seahawks, he scored a combined 10.5 fantasy points. QB3 and QB6 are on a buy this week. QB4 is Jared Goff, the Cardinals Lions game is our savior this week. That is great. QB5 is Tyler Shock, he gets Minnesota, hopefully with Chris Olave. Joe Burrow's top two wide receivers missed practice yesterday. Lamar Jackson is unlikely to play. We might have a low scoring week here, but you know what? >> I thought Tiggins was at practice. >> He was not. They said he was going to be at practice, but then he was at DNP. >> There was two misleading reports yesterday, one positive, one negative. The Ramandra Stephenson report by Mike Raeble said he wasn't going to practice, then he was limited. Tiggins report said he was going to practice, and then he didn't practice at all. >> Yeah, there were a few others, I think, where coaches said something and it didn't end up happening. I can't remember what they were, but those were the big ones. But we still have some players that we love, so let's get into the players that we love brought to you by StitchFix. If you're like me in close shopping, it's not your thing. StitchFix has you covered. Get style today at stitchfix.com/football. Jamie, three players you love are Matthew Stafford Monday night, a manual Wilson against San Francisco and Quincheon Judkins at the Jets. >> For Stafford, he's the start of the week, excited to see him take on this Bill's defense, which we know has been bad, and I think it kind of shows in our rankings how excited we are about Stafford for this week, so hopefully he delivers, he's had two really good games, two really crappy ones, but the last two games he's been over 50 pass attempts. We know this Bill's defense has been very forgiving to a few quarterbacks that make Drake May look much better last week with giving him, allowing him to go over 30 fantasy points. He did that with 54 yards of Russian and should take that into account, but this defense is not great, and Stafford should have another strong performance, the best game so far this season is only true home game, was when he took on the Giants in week two. For a manual Wilson, I think we're going to get another week of every touch going his direction and the majority of every touch going his direction. He's now played 10 games in his career with at least 10 carries, and he scored 11.7 PPR points or more in seven of them, so I think that's kind of the floor you should be looking at here. San Francisco's run defense kind of been all over the place, struggling at times and looking a little bit better at others, but there have been four running backs that are scored at least 12.4 PPR points against them so far this season, and I think in manual Wilson is going to be a very good number two running back potentially once again as a number one guy. And Quinch on Duckins, I hope his role in the past game continues, it's two of the last three games he's had at least five receptions, so that's been I think a big boost to his production score this first touch down last week. He's not the same guy as Kalmanangai or Jamir Gibbs, but those two running backs have combined for 69 PPR points in the last two games against the Jets defense, so Judgans has an opportunity here to be a very good number two running back as well. You like Judgans or Wilson better? I like Wilson better. He's you like staffer this week? He's number one. Excellent. Let's go. As you love this week, Jaden Daniels against the Giants, Braille and Allen against Cleveland and RJ Harvey at the chargers, what about the fact that digs and McClure in both mispractice yesterday? It's Wednesday. What's over under eight and a half Wednesday practices forced to fund digs and Terry McClure in rest of season? They're wide receivers in their Thursday, thirties with all types of health concerns. As long as one of them is playing, I think listen, I hopefully he can stay healthy. But I liked Jaden Daniels answer they said, "So how much do you have to protect the elbow if you're running?" And it's the third down four yards away and he said, "Is it the fourth quarter?" So I think he's still going to run a lot. I think when Jaden Daniels is active, you just start him. We all have him at the top 12 quarterback. I just like him the most. The Giants defense did some good things in the second half last week. I don't think this is actually a very talented unit right now, so I don't think they're going to provide much resistance. And the commanders don't have a whole lot of a run game. Jaden Daniels might be their best passer and their best rusher. Jaden made reference to a manual Wilson getting all of the Seahawks touches, Braylon Allen's literally gotten all of the Jets running back touches since Priesthall got hurt. It is not a great matchup against the Browns, but they do have an higher implied point total this week than they did last week. It was 19 and a half last week, it's 21 this week. They're the favorites. And I expect him if they run a normal amount of plays, they were averaging 65 offenses plays per week through the first three weeks of the season. They ran 33 last week. That will make a big difference in whether Braylon Allen's good, but you should expect around 60. You should expect around 20 touches for him. He's a must start or must start RB 2 for me. And then I kind of buy the RJ Harvey. I don't think he's going to have 10 targets per week, but this team can't run the ball very well. No Nix is throwing the ball about four yards per pass attempt. And RJ Harvey is one of the best guys they have, probably behind Jalen Waddle after the catch. So I still think we can really optimistically hope for six or seven targets in this game. In full PPR only, he's a top 20 running back for me. He also has the biggest gap between his full PPR and non-PPR ranking. I'm interested though, because he has been more efficient as a rusher so far this season than Dobbins. That's probably because he's played in more passing situations and had an easier defense to run against, but I wonder if we start to see a few more carries for Harvey. We've talked a lot about how bad he was as a rusher last year, but he was also a rookie. He may have improved. He's been better this year. I also want to say that Braylon Allen, Cleveland, they're fifth best against running backs, but they're actually giving up 4.8 yards per carry to running backs. They just haven't a lot of touchdown yet. So like Basial Tut and Bucky Irving, Chubel Harbor, Jaylen Warren, they all ran well against Cleveland. So maybe it's not such a bad matchup for Braylon Allen, even though again, they haven't given up a touchdown yet, but who else, who hadn't given up a touchdown? Who the Falcons played last week? Falcons played the Saints. Falcons hadn't given up a rushing touchdown going into last week's game. They give up two to Alvin Cameras, so that's that you never know. All right. The only issue I have with Heath's picks right now is that he picked a couple of rain games. We got to keep an eye on the weather this week, because there's a hurricane going up the Gulf Coast. Then it could impact some games and there also could be rain on the East Coast. So the Giants game in Washington, the Jets game at, I was trying to think of where the hurricane might affect. Like Tennessee, I think that's one of the games that Kevin is looking at. Yeah, maybe just be bad weather, but there might be like indoor stadiums there. But there could be some weather this week. We'll keep an eye on it right now, and nothing too concerning. All right. Those are the players we love. Thank you to StitchFix for sponsoring today's players we love. It was Jayden Daniels, Braylon Allen, and RJ Harvey for Heath. Now to the players we avoid. Ramandre Stevenson for Heath against the Raiders, Alvin Camera against the Vikings, Khalil Shakir. That one's interesting to me at Minnesota, at the Rams on Monday night. Go for it. Heath. Yeah. Let's start with Shakir, since that was the one that you thought was interesting. I'm a little bit worried. You mentioned Josh Allen against the Rams. I'm a little bit worried about the receivers that we just picked up off the waiver wire. Shakir and Keon Coleman, neither one were my top two wide receivers to pick up this week. The Rams have not allowed a wide receiver to have more than 50 receiving yard in a game. It's kind of like the opposite of the Brown situation. They've given up quite a few fantasy points to wide receivers because they give up three touchdowns to the 49ers wide receivers in week one. I think they give up two touchdowns to Darius Cooper last week, but they have shut receivers down in terms of yardage.
So I would rather if Jamar chases out, I'm expecting to against play right now, but if both are out for sure, but if Chase's out, I'd rather start Myers for the bingles. I'd still rather start my guy, Malik Washington. If you have to start him as a flex, or if you're just, I know a lot of people are desperate. I, you don't have to run away from him, but Ramandre, it just feels too risky to me for what the upside is. - Yeah, he's still getting fewer rush attempts per game than Travion Henderson. He's not 100% healthy right now. He has probably the biggest, if the ball gets knocked out of his hand, he doesn't get to play for a while risk. And so we're kind of counting on him having a really good day receiving. I think he's more of a flex than an RB2. And I, it was a great first game for Alvin Camera without, it was a second without HN. I don't, I don't really buy it just. - Yeah, and Jamie and Dave are right there with you on Camera. You all have him 27th to 29th, so to sports line. But Stevenson, if we go back to the Stevenson graphic and look at the rankings there, Jamie, you have him 19th, Dave 17th, heath 27th. So Jamie, why the optimism for Ramandre's Stevenson against the Raiders? - I mean, it's really just about the touchdown and catch potential that he's shown. And so I'm hopeful more so than anything else that the Patriots offense got back on track a little bit last week. I think this is a tougher defense that they're playing. So there's not a lot of running back that I love to be honest with you. I probably should put Braille now in ahead of him when I saw that he was 20th and that Ramandre's 19th, so if I had that decision, that's one that I would change is Braille and over Ramandre. So it's not a slam dunk. And to be honest, I wouldn't even say it's a guarantee that he plays. I know that he got in the limited practice just say, which is a positive sign, but it didn't sound very optimistic from what the beatwriters were saying yesterday. So we'll see what's going on there in full. I would love to see a couple of Traveon games, not that I have a lot of stock in either of these two running backs. We have maybe two teams of Ramandre, two teams of Traveon. So I'm gonna be happy in one sense and disappointed in another. But I think it'd be fun to just see what Traveon could do. You know, as we saw last year, he was so amazing. I averaged 24 PPR points per game somewhere in that neighborhood in the three games that Ramandre missed. And two of those games were over 28 points. So let us hit for a game. - Yeah, pretty good. 12.7 points, 28 points and 32.3 fantasy points in PPR for Traveon Henderson in those three games. But all right, back to the players to avoid. Jamie's got Tyler Shuck against Minnesota. Oh, man, Ali Gordon against the Bengals and all of the Eagles in London against the Jaguars. - Yeah, Shuck is not necessarily like a must sit guy. That do happen ranked 12, so he's still in the top 12. Looks like Heath agrees with me. Minnesota is just so dominant at pressuring the quarterback. And we saw what it looked like for Shuck against Atlanta. He was running for his life. I know he was only sack twice, but he was just hit over and over and over again. And so I think you just gotta put it in perspective. Like this is just not gonna most likely be a great week for Tyler Shuck. So I'm not necessarily running to the waiver wire to replace him the only guy that I would start over him that we weren't considering as a starter prior to this week. At least the majority of leagues would be Jacobi Berset because I love his match up against Detroit. But Shuck, if you can find a replacement for him, I think it's the right, if you can find Berset on waivers, that's the guy that I would start over him. But the volumes just still be there for him leaves the NFL in past times with 180. And so hopefully can find a way into a little bit better production than the 17 points he gave you last week. As Adam alluded to, I think on Wednesday show, if one of those two short yardage touchdowns from Camara goes to Shuck, it's a much better stat line. And you feel a little bit better just about the way that he came out of that game. A lot of assists for whatever reason. Then you're gonna see Shuck, I'm sure he'll be an agreement like just plummeting down the rankings there at quarterback. In the case of Ollie Gordon, look, it was great. You got rewarded with the fab that you spent on him. And I hope that he has another solid performance. It was nine carries, he broke a long run, got a touchdown, I get the team that doesn't typically give up touchdowns. And now he's facing another one. The Bengals are only allowed two touchdowns to run him back so far this season. One was last week with Chris Rodriguez. So it sounds like Ollie's gonna remain in the lead role. It also sounds like according to Halfly, like they're gonna give a little bit more work to Jalen, right, also is coming back from the foot injury. So we'll see how just this split goes. I think he's a good flex. I hope he doesn't know the strong game. It would be amazing that Ollie Gordon ends up with better production per game than Devon Hian. But that's the case so far. The two games that he's played the majority of snaps. He's been the best offense running back so far this season. But I'm just being a little bit, I'm just a little concerned taking on the Bengals with I think their run defense is still very good. I know they've been a production to running backs. Fantasy-wise, it just hasn't been in the way I think that Ollie Gordon's gonna get there without scoring a touchdown. And then the third guy I forgot already. - It's the Eagles, and I don't know. - Oh, these Eagles, yeah. - If Dallas Goddard plays, was he was limited yesterday? Would you change your opinion? - No, no. I'd be a little concerned that he's gonna be on a snap count. Look, they lost two offensive linemen this week. Cam Jurgens, I don't think, was guaranteed to play, but they trade Jurgens to Baltimore, Lane Johnson retires, no Sequan Barclay, no Tank Bigsby, most likely, no Devante Smith. Jalen hers through for 93 yards last week, and they're playing the Jaguars, which deep, who has a defense right now that looks to be one of the more dominant ones in the league. So, I just don't think this is a good opportunity to play the Eagles unless you're stuck. Like, I'm stuck in one league. I had to overpay for Will Shipley. I hate it. I hope he has a strong performance, at least gives you something in the neighborhood of a top 30 running back this week. But I just have no confidence in the Eagles offense. Right now, I don't know how anybody can. I think Will Shipley might be my favorite Eagles player this weekend, and it's not because of the running. I do think he's not to share early downs. But every single week, the Jags have given up at least five catches to a running back. Last week, it was 11 to Chase Brown. And I think Will Shipley will be the pass catching back. I wish that was something that Jalen hers did with some success, though, that's the problem. You know, we're set up here for a game that should be a running back pass-friendly, a pass catching, a pass catching running back should have a friendly performance here because of the situation, the opponent, and everything that goes into it. Like, I hope that's something Sean Manion is like, we have to do this. Let's do this. Let's work on this. Let's keep it going. So there'll be some receiver that has a good performance. My guess is you get better showing from Wix. Could be a touchdown from Cooper. If Goddard plays, he's definitely in the conversation. There's just so many good streaming tight ends this week that why would you risk it with playing Goddard less than 100%. Well, because Devante Smith's not playing. I mean, if he were 100%, what a great opportunity this would be. And I don't know how-- Agreed. I don't know how injured he is. I mean, I don't know that he's going to be on a snap count. What if he gets in a full practice on Friday? Or something like that? I mean, it's a great opportunity. There is one thing the Jaguars have struggled with, and it's been number one wide receivers. We'll talk about that game. It's the first game we're previewing. We'll talk about it pretty soon. We can make the case for Wix. But it could be Darius Cooper as the number one receiver. Could be McIleman. That's the problem. Being 7.5 point underdogs is crazy. Is it? No, I mean, just to see the Eagles as 7.5 point underdogs is crazy. I mean, they kind of-- I don't think officially, but it felt like they waved the white flag yesterday with the trade. I mean, maybe. Yeah. I guess Jergens was playing Goddard because Dickerson was out, and he wasn't doing very well at Goddard. Yeah. They liked their center, apparently. They got a second round pick and a fifth round pick out of it, I think. Yeah. It's concerning. I think a lot of teams could be touched down underdogs if they didn't have three of their five starters on the offensive line. Their number one wide receiver, their number one running back, or their number one tight end. I'm not saying it's a wrong spread. It's just you don't see the Eagles 7.5 point underdog. And look, to be fair for them, they did get ball and back at practice. They did get Quenia Mitchell back at practice. You know, those were two guys that they missed last week, and Mitchell, who knows if you-- I'm sorry, Mitchell got hurt last week, but there was some thought that he wasn't going to play. So that's a positive for their defense. Huge. Yep. All right. We got more injuries for you in a minute. Sunday morning, we do have the 9.30 AM Eastern game in London. Okay, injuries, news and notes. Lamar Jackson may not play. That's a Sunday night game. Jayden Daniels is expected to play. Running back news, Ramanjai Stevenson was limited. He has a chance to play this week, but we're not super optimistic right now. Shkory Kroski Merritt and Rashad White were both limited. Breeze Hall still week to week. Rico Dowdell was limited. That's a bummer if you have Jaylen Warren, Seikwam Barkley mispracticed and they elevated Damien Pierce. The Eagles did who leads the team in carries this week? Shipley. Yeah, but it's not a big gap. Max Sharbanay was limited, but we've already been told he won't play this week. And George Halani was limited. Chris Brooks mispractice. And, you know, we got five catches. I think from Marshal Lloyd last week. So maybe it shouldn't be overlooked. Caleb Johnson have a decent game before he fumbled. Tony Pollard mispractice, but he's fine. I think Kyle Menongai and DeAndre Swift Swift both mispractice. Are you guys concerned about either Menongai or Swift missing this game? Not yet. So Ben Johnson talked a lot about his running back yesterday. And he said, talked in length about DeAndre's fumbling and how he has to fix that. He said in regards to Menongai, he's not, I'm going to paraphrase, he's not concerned about the thumb, but more just giving him rest from general sornice after all the work that he had. So it sounds like both should be fine. But obviously if one misses, the other one becomes more than just a mustark. I like 10 top 10 potential for that particular run. Camara mispractice. You got, you know, remember, he got hurt during the game and then he came back in. So probably okay. And Jeremiah Love was limited, but they've said that he should be fine for this week. Jeremiah Love. Now to the wide receivers, Jordan Addison has minor hamstring sornice. He should be fine. And Justin Jefferson was limited and he's planning to play, but it's not a guarantee for Justin Jefferson and the Viking sign Odell Beckham. Jamar Chase and T Higgins both mispractice right now. We're ranking T Higgins. We're not ranking Jamar Chase. Malik neighbors mispractice with knee sornice. This is, we have to keep an eye on. He said he was more sore than usual. So obviously this would be terrible for Jamis Winston. If you have to stream him this week at Washington, Chris Olave was given a rest day. They held a walk through. So Olave was listed as a non participant. We've got to keep an eye on Chris Olave status. Stefan Diggs and Terry McClure and mispractice, at least McClure was able to work off to the side. As he said, they're in their 50s and they're injured. So they're going to mispractice. Devante Smith mispractice. Jalen nailers in the concussion protocol. Deonte Thornton could play this week for the Raiders. Keenan Allen was limited in practice. So maybe he works his way back. Mac Holland's mispractice. Adonio Mitchell was still week to week. Tank Dell was limited. Caleb Douglas mispractice. Doesn't sound like he's ready yet. Zay Flowers was limited with a foot injury. Rashad Bateman has a shoulder issue and Lad Maconkey mispractice. Actually, did he mispractice? He did mispractice. But there was another one, I believe, that was a pre-practice report that he was going to practice and then he did not. There it was. But at least there's a little optimism, I guess, about Maconkey and Quentin Johnson was limited. By the way, with Keenan Allen practicing in a limited version yesterday, would you rather have Keenan Allen or an Eagles wide receiver this week? Keenan Allen. Probably wicks for me. Keenan Allen or Dante Myers? Myers, if any of the bangles guys are up. Yep. Even if just one of them's out. Okay. I'm going to read you at Dante Myers quote. It's not it's for about him. It's from bangles.com. Zach Taylor put the 511, 186 pound Myers in some elite company when talking about his ability to make tacklers miss a stat that Myers leads next gen stats for NFL receivers with multiple catches. Quote, in terms of make miss bursts to go get big plays, he's close to Jamar as we've probably had. Jamar's obviously top of the chain there in terms of any ball he catches, he can go to the house. And Dante, I think, is probably next in line with that ability. Pretty cool. Mason Taylor practiced in full. He's, do you think that affects Adon? I Mitchell? No, because I don't think Adon and Mitchell's going to play it. Might affect Kenyan Cedeek. If Mason, I think the high guy on Cedeek and the only one with him on the top 12. I did not have Taylor ranked. So I would lower him a little bit, but I think Cedeek would still be the guy. I say I likely was limited and Dallas Goddard was limited. The offensive lines that are really beat up are the Eagles, the Vikings right now with their left tackle Christian Darryl saw in the concussion protocol, their right tackle limited, their right guard, I think out maybe their left guard out. Atlanta's left tackle. J. Matthews mispractice. The chargers are obviously a complete mess. And Chicago's offensive line right now is pretty beat up. We'll check the Thursday practice report. And pair. Oh, and the, the Cardinals too. You got Paris Johnson, their left tackle out for the season and right guard Isaiah Adams out for the week against Detroit. There are some big defensive injuries, but we'll, I think the most important one to know, I don't know if it matters for the Patriots. It does matter. I think for Brock Bauer's, because I think Gonzalez would line up on Bauer's, Bauer's lines up out wide almost 50% of the time, which is so much more than any other tight end. Christian Gonzalez mispractice and so did the other cornerback Carlton Davis. One question for each game, Eagles are at the Jaguars. Jamie Starderson Trevor Lawrence. I would start in my, I think the concern would obviously be the lack of volume that we may see here because of what the Eagles probably failed to do, but I still think Trevor Lawrence always has the potential for a big game based on what his profile is. I'm just hoping that he has to push to tempo a little bit and play a little bit to the level that I think we need from, from an upper echelon quarterback, but you kind of ran down the list of players for this week and, and some of the games in performances. And I just don't think this Eagles defense right now is playing very well. So I would trust Trevor Lawrence as a, as a top 10, potentially top five quarterback. I might have him ranked a little toy. Jamie's got him fifth, Dave, sixth, he's tenth for Lawrence. And he is actually on paper having a phenomenal year, 69% completion rate, which is unheard of for him, 8.1 yards per tenth. It's never been higher than 7.2. The area arts have basically been the same. So that's not why the completion rate is better. The off target rate much lower. This is, we're just, this is going to be the Trevor Lawrence section. When we get to the game, we're going to skip him. Would you start Trevor? So yeah, I just want to point that out. Like the Jaguars, they don't run plays. They are, like, they run like the third fewest plays. They're really low in pace. He hasn't thrown 30 passes yet, but he is playing great. Um, would you start Trevor Lawrence or Tyler Shuck? Lawrence. I have Lawrence one spot higher. Preset or Lawrence? That's when I'm probably going to switch and go percent. Lawrence for me. Lawrence or party? Pretty. Uh, I think I have party once but higher. All right. Uh, next game is the Colts at the Steelers. Heath Josh Downs or DK Metcalf. That may be determined by Keenan Allen. Right now, I have Josh Downs ahead of DK Metcalf. They've kind of been similar in that they're getting. We love the targets. We haven't always loved the actual fantasy production. Um, I will take Downs over DK if Keenan Allen's out. I will take DK over Downs if Ellen plays Cincinnati's at Miami. Jamie if one of the Bengals receivers played, let's say Higgins plays and Chase sits, who would be the second best wide receiver in this game? Uh, Dante Myers over Malik Washington. Yes. Heath, you agree? No, you like Malik Washington? You know, big, big Malik Washington guy. No, they're like, they're like 20s, 28 and 30. So they're very, they're very close. Okay. And that's with Higgins play. Okay. Right. If Higgins were out, where would you guys rank Dante Myers ahead of Downs, ahead of Metcalf, uh, top 20 riders here, probably 24ish. Okay. Cleveland's at the Jets. Braylon Allen or Denzel Boston, Heath. Uh, Braylon Allen, for sure. Um, like Boston has that big playability and may even have more weekly upside, but it's very difficult to be a guy that you just want to start every week with his A dot. Um, you, you've referenced it before like he's just big getting a lot of stuff down Stelfield right now. And he had a 60 yard gain on busted coverage last week. Otherwise, I think it was 60. There's a big chunk. Otherwise, it really wouldn't have been a very good game for Boston. Um, okay. The next game is Denver at the Chargers. Jamie, what matters more when you preview and project Denver at the Chargers, the Chargers offensive line injuries or the, or the Broncos cornerback injuries. The Chargers inept everything. Uh, yeah, there are offensive line matters more. Do you think they're going to struggle in this game? Yeah, I mean, they should have all their games. Yeah. Oh, you face the Broncos. You face the Broncos without Sir Tan and maybe without Riley Moss. But the last three times they play without Sir Tan. I think it was just him at four times actually. Um, they actually, they were great. I mean, it was three times. Yes, they were great defensively. They have a lot going for them. They have a great pass rush. Houston, that's the key. Yeah. Houston's at Tennessee start or sit, Carnell, Tate. Heath, would you believe the Texans allow the most fantasy points to wide receivers? i i wouldn't believe that it's factually true i
am starting carnaltate as a number two wide receiver. It is a little bit risky, especially with the change in defensive play color, but he's been really good lately. And he is the clear number one wide receiver. And he was a first round rookie wide receiver that we all think is very talented. And the Texans haven't been good yet. So I'm starting. And I skipped a game. Raiders at the Patriots. Jamie is Romeo Dobbs. He must start the Raiders have allowed the six fewest points to wide receivers, but again, this is kind of a touchdown thing. They've already allowed 70 or more yards to four receivers. Is Romeo Dobbs a must start? No, but he is in three receiver leagues. Yes. In two receiver leagues, he's in that blob of carnaltate and Denzel Boston and probably should still be DK Metcalf and Josh Downs and Dante Myers with or without any other guys. Like there's just a lot of guys that you can make cases for and against. He's had two very good games. He's had two very mediocre games in terms of Romeo Dobbs. He's coming off a nine target game where Drake may look great. It also was against Buffalo. So take that into account. I just think you got to be realistic with Romeo Dobbs. Like if you have him and you need him, start him. If you have better options, which hopefully you do, then you probably shouldn't. He's 50% started for a reason. Yeah. I changed my take on this game as I did some research. And I'm excited to hear what you guys think about it. We'll get to that game. That's game number four Raiders and Patriots. Also funny comment from Johnny Airport. That shirt color really brings out Adam's eye. Yeah. We're a bright red shirt. Beautiful. Um, Philadelphia's at Jacksonville. This game is in London. And I talked about Trevor Lawrence who's twice been good for fantasy. Twice been bad. Hopefully he can throw more. But we discussed him in one question for each game. And Jalen Hertz is a sit. You know, things should get better for them. They threw for 93 yards last week. And they ran 47 plays in 23 minutes. But yeah, he's a sit. Um, all right. What do you think about Will Shipley, Damien Pierce? I think that we'll probably see around 13 rush attempts for Shipley, probably five to eight for Damien Pierce. I think most of the targets go Shipley's way. It's just whether it's three targets from Jalen Hertz or five or six. Like it probably should be in this matchup. Um, I would view Shipley as a high end flex Pierce. You're only adding and very deep leagues. Um, I'd rather not have to start any of them. How would you rank Shipley compared to Romeo dobs and carnell Tate and Dante Myers and those guys? Tate is the top of that list for me. And full PPR, I would also have Dante Myers over him. Um, who was the other one? Um, dobs. Dobs and him are kind of the same guy for me. I think there's good potential for both of them. I would probably start Shipley. Who's your favorite Eagles wide receiver? Wicks. Jamie. Yeah, I would agree. Uh, you know, last week was disappointing, but much tougher opponent. So you hope to see something that you saw in the first two games, uh, from Wicks where he was 12 PPR points or more. It's been a little bit of a downward spiral for him the last couple of games. But I think that's just type of player that he is. He's going to have some strong performances and some disappearing games. Um, I just go back to, you know, the start of the show with players to avoid. Like if you could avoid Eagles, this is the week to do it. Yeah, I just think God are really, I mean, I'd be more interested in him in the first game of the year. He only played one. He got hurt in the second game. First game of the area at four catches 77 yards and two touchdowns and now no Devante Smith. I don't know. Jamie didn't seem too optimistic about it. No, I think he's, he's, he's definitely in the, the back end starting option, you know, so like we're discussing today on CBS Sports Network, your favorite, like backup tight end or, you know, guy that's ranked in the, in the top in the 13 through 24 range consensus wise. So like he has Sadeek as a guy that he is interested in. And you could definitely make a case for him based on how he should have performed last week. If they threw the ball a little bit more, given his target share. I would rather go back to Colston Lovelin over Dallas, God are just based on what he showed last week. Um, Tyler Higby's coming off a strong game. You still have Dalton Schultz getting for the most part, being the second guy in terms of targets. Like that's a guy you could debate versus Dallas got it. Jake Ferguson's got a great match up tonight. You could debate him versus Dallas got it right now. I hope in a week from now, that's not the case. It's just if you're Jacksonville, like what are you trying to take away? They don't have a lot to have to worry about the takeaway. This team is just stripped so down to, to its core without any of their star players. They're plus a bad offensive line and a quarterback who's struggling. Like there's just a whole mess of things going on here for Philadelphia. Pretty bad. Okay, um, then let's move over to the Jaguars, uh, Basel Tutton starter, Sid Heath. He's an RB two. You're probably starting him. But it, I mean, it could be a situation where you have two better running backs. Okay, I think I love to see them just put more on his plate. Like give him some more catches, give him some more opportunities. Don't take him out of the ball line. Like he could, he could in theory be a top 10 fantasy running. Like there, that's, that's the potential with the way this offense is performing in how he's looked like. I tried to acquire him yesterday in our super flex league. I offered O'Marion Hampton straight up for Basel Tutton, and it was rejected. Interesting. Yeah, because they don't take him out of the goal line all the time. He does have two one yard rushing touchdowns, and he's just playing so well. Chris Rodriguez is really not much of a factor. He does get in sometimes as short yardage, but it's nowhere near and even split. So yeah, I mean, that could have, I thought it was an interesting trade offer, but I'm pretty high on Tutton. Jamie's got him 15th, Dave 14th, Heath 19th. Tutton and Emanuel Wilson are basically back to back for all of you. Jamie with Emanuel Wilson slightly ahead, Heath with Tutton slightly ahead, Dave with Wilson with Tutton slightly ahead as well. Okay. And then the Parker Washington, is that the only wide receiver you want to start? Yeah, I, you know, Jacobi Myers has one great game. He had a touchdown in week one. He said three or four games with four targets or less. And so Mitchell playing, I don't think that helps him. It's just a matter of like they can pick and choose who they want to, you know, get involved here. Like that's Liam Cohen's, I think, evil genius. Like, you know, the New England game was Myers. I don't know if that was a revenge factor or not, but it's just hard to bank on anybody else besides Parker Washington. Like last week, you know, I was, you know, moderately excited about Brent and Strange. You really only had to do with the Bengals match up and he comes out and has a strong performance. I don't think you can count on that again. Let's read some questions here to help us out here. Parker Washington or Josh Downs? Washington. Yeah. Parker Washington or Bucky Irving? Parker Washington. Yeah. Jacobi Myers or Don Tebian Wicks. Wicks, I guess, Wicks. Wicks, Godwin or Don Te Myers. Myers. Unless both writers, viewers for the correct split. Yep. Tutan Golden McLaren or Parker Washington. Pick one. Just need one. Wow. Parker. I go Parker. Braylon Allen, Basil Tutan or Emmanuel Wilson. Pick two. I would sit. Braylon Allen. I would sit. Wilson. Shipply or Ramondra Stevenson. Man, Ramondra if you please. That'll probably come down to whether Ramondra gets in a full practice for me. Dallas Goddard or Kenyan Sedeek? This one I probably would go Goddard, but it's close. I think that the tight end position as of Thursday morning is the most unsettled. So like if Mason Taylor is back and Dallas Goddard gets a full practice on Friday, then I'd probably go Goddard. But I don't really think Goddard's going to play this week. The Jaguars DST is a must start. The Eagles DST is eighth for Heath, but 23rd for Jamie. Yeah, I'd moved him down to I do think that they might have like I don't think the players are giving up. And the defense sounds like it's mostly going to be at full strength. And I think there's a lot of talented guys. So I do think they could have kind of a last stand kind of game. But they're down to 13th now for me. Okay. They'd be so disappointing though. I mean, they are. Yeah, the thing is like this is it's a really winnable division. In fact, I might still pick them to win the division. I don't even know. I mean, just like I know the giants of the commanders aren't that good. Are the cowboys? I don't know. They lost the giants with Dart. But yeah, I mean, they could they shouldn't give up here. They could definitely win the division. I don't think they're giving up. I mean, you know, look, they got value for a player that I don't know if he's a free agent end of the season. So I don't know what that factor is. So jargon's okay. So they still I'm under contract. Like you said, he wasn't playing his he wasn't playing the position. He was in as well as he would probably play as normal position as natural position. So that makes sense for the bank, for the Ravens to go get a center, given what they're they're looking at. But it just feels as if when they're best offensive lineman and a cornerstone or their franchise, I know there's off-field situation going on. They're retires. And then they trade away another offensive lineman, which when you looked at this team, that was still one of the strengths of this team. And now you don't know when Barclay's going to come back. You don't know when Demante's miss going to come back. The quarterback obviously. see has issues as we've noted time and time again and it gets magnified when he doesn't have his players there. So the way that they've looked in barely beating the Titans and losing the last two weeks, it doesn't exactly inspire confidence for what they're looking at rest of season. So to Heath's point, obviously the defense is still mostly attacked when they're healthy. They should be able to carry them in some games. We've seen that now with two franchises that are expected to have great defense and not doing so the Texans and the Eagles. So can the Eagles bounce back? It just doesn't feel like it against the team that seems to be as one of the cornerstone top tier teams of the league right now. It's interesting because like if you look at the past blocking grades and stuff, I don't think Jacksonville's offensive line is actually playing very well. No, it's one of the worst I could at least so it is an opportunity if the Eagles can, but they haven't played up to the potentially yet either. When I checked last week, there were only two teams that were per ESPN that were top 10 in both run blocking and past blocking and now I'm looking again now. The bills and the Rams are the only end of Niners. Three teams that are top 10 in both run blocking, past block win rate, Courtney ESPN. We have strayed too far from the subject. Colts and Steelers. My son just got an interesting tradeoff regarding the Eagles. He just texted me. He would be giving up a Maureen Hampton and Parker Washington and getting Sichuan Barclay and Ajay Brown. What? Sichuan Barclay and Ajay Brown for who? Hampton and Parker Washington? Yeah, I told him no. No way. Keep the Washington side. You know what? Even though we're going to have a two hour show today, why not talk about the Eagle who scored twice last week. That's from Marcus. And it's a great point. I mean, we've said we like Wix better. We said we don't really want to trust any of the Eagles, but we should talk about that. If they get seven targets last week, he's got three touchdowns in his last three games scored against Titans in week two, scored the two touchdowns last week. He's obviously somebody that Jaylen Hertz trust because he's giving him some 50/50 opportunities although you can probably make a case that a lot of Jaylen Hertz throws or 50/50 opportunities. I think Cooper is definitely in the number three receiver conversation. Should not be far off from Wix, but you know, it just feels as if like if you're if you're looking at it from a pecking order standpoint when everybody's healthy, I shouldn't say they've got her place, it would be got her one. I would put Wix to Cooper three. We're going to take a break. Colts and Steelers, when we come back, we've got six games to go. Colts are at the Steelers. Aaron Rodgers has not had a 300 yard game since joining the Steelers, but the last two games, 292 and 299 yards, dare I say he's playing well. The completion percentage is horrible, but he's throwing the ball down field. He's averaged 10 or more ariards per pass attempt in three or four games. Aaron Rodgers did that one time in the previous two seasons combined. It's a different Aaron Rodgers and I wonder what that's going to mean against this Colts defense, which is giving up the six most points to quarterbacks, which is giving up a lot of big plays. Although I went and watched the big plays and a lot of them were like great throws, but DK Metcalf, you know, he had two big catches late in the game last week. I obviously see the potential here for the Steelers' Heath against the Colts in this passing game. What do you think? Rodgers is at the top 15 quarterback for me this week and I would obviously start him over Jalen Hertz and Justin Herbert and Bonix and a lot of other guys. I think the hope for the Steelers' offense with Mike McCarthy taking over has mostly happened. They are running more plays. They are throwing more. They are throwing down field more. They aren't throwing 75% of their passes to running backs and tight ends. It's a cautiously optimistic situation. It's a good matchup against the Colts. If you had to start Aaron Rodgers, I wouldn't feel that bad about it. Dare I say, did you write that in there? Me? Yeah. No. Why? No, no, Dare I say he's playing well. I felt like it was… No, I did that, but yeah, no, I didn't. I wish I had like a dare T-shirt on right now. I think they know, Jones, that Aaron Rodgers or Jalen Hertz? He just said it and I agree. Aaron Rodgers. Sorry. Aaron Rodgers or… Dare I say, he just said that already. Aaron Rodgers or Kirk Cousins? I would go Kirk, but I've gone back and forth on it. The matchup definitely favors Rodgers, but Cousins is playing so well right now. I mean, they're both playing so it's just really like whoever's available on waivers, I would pick up. All right, last one. Rodgers or Jalen Daniels? I think there's more long term appeal for Cousins. Daniels. Daniels. Daniels. What are you looking at me like that, Heath? Do we have him close in our rankings? No. People might be wondering. They may not be ready to trust Jalen Daniels. I know that Rodgers has had a better season, so I can understand. Yes. Start, Jonathan Taylor. Josh Downs is number two wide receiver. We talked about him and Metcalf. They're pretty similar in the rankings. Are there any tight ends that you would start over, Tyler Warren? Not for Heath. Heath has Warren 3rd and Jamie has him 12th, so no, 7th. You got to update your list, dude. 7th, 7th. There you go. Yeah. But it's a little bit of a difference. And Jamie has him 9th. I mean, Dave has him 9th. Were you again? Rodgers or Hertz? Would you start? Would you start to want, Jonathan? If you wrote there, I say in your notes, throw you off someone. Completely. Give me off. Do you want Johnson or Tyler Warren? There I say Tyler Warren. Yep. Dalton Concade or Tyler Warren? Warren. Warren. Okay. Rodgers, we talked about Jalen Warren. If we go down to a place, Jalen Warren or Josh Downs DK Metcalf. Still Jalen Warren. Yep. Why so confident in Jalen Warren, which just doubted on the way back potentially? I would not expect a typical workload for Dowdle, but he's going to be a nuisance. So, you know, you've gotten the Jalen Warren full workload scenario for the last two games and it's been absolutely amazing. I just hope that he's shown enough that he's going to be the lead back. I know what Mike McCarthy said, but production is production, performance is performance. So dare I say that Jalen Warren has earned the right to be the guy that. But you have him right to the top 10. Are you going to drop that? Yeah, I mean, he'll fall into the, you know, low teens, right? When you say 13 or 14s, that low teens are high teens. That's the low teens. Low teens, yeah. So he'll still be a must start running back, but he won't be as high as he is right now. Don't tell me you don't have him right to the top 10, but I just refresh the rankings page in its top 10. We're not ranking Rico Dowdle. He had a limited practice after missing two weeks. Well, I. Why would you think. What the page says? Of course. Because we don't. Like you're talking as if Rico Dowdle has already been announced as the weak five starter. That's why I said. Dare I say. I said. We're not sure he's going to play yet. All right. How about it? I think it's also worth noting. Like it was 75 yards of game the first two weeks of the season when Rico Dowdle was there for Jalen Warren. So. It's fine. All right. All right. Roger's already heard. Now listen. What do we think about Roman Wilson this week? You love him. He picked him up everywhere. I did not pick him up in a league. Did I? Yeah. Oh, I didn't check that out. That's there are people that have their team's name after you. I didn't check anything today. He is. Right in the Shakir Coleman range for me. He's kind of a low in number three wide receiver, but he's made some big plays. You can make big plays against the Colts defense. I think the nice thing about it is the targets have been consistent six in every game. The production last two weeks has been fun. He's the type of receiver that if you're stuck this week, he doesn't at least in my opinion present the same upside as Myers if the Bengals guys are out. Coleman or Shakir if DJ Moore is out. But can easily be somebody that you plug and play for this week. And definitely somebody that can be an end of bench type receiver for you. Michael Pittman apparently went through the locker room yesterday in a scooter. Oh, yes. So his foot is still a problem and not that he's been a problem for Roman Wilson. He's been a problem for Aaron Rogers. I think you're just looking at right now like he's established himself. Roman Wilson has the number two receiver in this office. And just to be clear, it was one of those scooters where you bend your knee and you rest your knee on it. He wasn't riding a scooter. Yeah. And see, I picked up Roman Wilson in one league. That's sure about all the others that you could like I picked him up and like three. So yeah. I mean, I think it could be a consistent number three receiver as we're dealing with all these injuries and by weeks. You're starting a Steelers tight end? No. No. Are you starting the Steelers DST? Yes. Yes. Let's go to the next. Oh, wait. Questions from the audience. Here we go. Downs over Waddle and Jamo or Jamo? No. I would if Keenan Allen was out. I wouldn't have Keenan Allen as back. Roman Wilson. Chris Godwin. Lee Keaton Mitchell. Sit one. Godwin. Yep. Roman Wilson, Malik Washington or Jacobi Myers. Washington. Yep. PPR Josh Downs, Romeo Dobbs or Matthew Golden. Golden. Yep. Briskette or brisket or Rogers. Jacobi said, I'm the only person with Rogers, but I'll, I'll stand by it. Roman Wilson or Keon Colman? I'd go call him in this more. I have Wilson. Next game. Cincinnati is at Miami. Miami is not scored more than 13%.
points yet. So that's not great. How do you feel about how do you feel about the Bengals offense in general, Heath like Joe Barrow? And you know, I know it's dependent on who plays and whatnot. But just the fact that they may not have to do much in this game. Like what's the deal? You don't have to do much to have a good fantasy day against the dolphins. Like at one point late in the game, Brock Purty was 22 of 23. I think like Patrick Mohams didn't throw a whole lot of passes still at an okay day from what I remember. I'm starting any was it bad? No, it wasn't bad. He played great. He had 24 pass downs, but only scored 19.9 points, only one quarterback is scored more than that. So and that was perfect. Yeah, to be fair, the cousins in week one through three touchdowns, you just threw two underceptions against them. Yeah, I will start any of our Bengals starters who are active. So burrows a star chase Browns a star T Higgins a start of E plays, Jamar Chase is a start of E plays, Dante Myers is a start if one of Chase were Higgins misses. I think the only one that I'm a little bit less certain about is Mike Gassicki. And this is just the type of guy that it is a revenge game. And he has scored a bunch of touchdowns. But the targets have been so low that I have a hard time calling Gassicki a start. But I understand a lot of people are going to stream him. Yeah, I know we're going to get so many Gassicki questions on Sunday. I'm already Gassicki of them. Yeah. This is kind of what I found at his production in week four. Um, I mean, actually, I didn't even that concrete. He had a 16.7% TP target per out run rate with T Higgins off the field. So Jamar Chase missed much of the game. But it was really when T Higgins left that we saw a spike for Gassicki. And even then it wasn't that great. I'm going to say he had three catches for 40 yards. Yeah. Yeah. But he had, he had, um, he had his touchdown. He had three of his targets with Higgins off the field on, uh, no, sorry. All right. Let's just look at target per out run rate because Higgins played a lot. 10.7% target per out run rate last week with Higgins on the field. That's terrible. 16.7% target per out run rate with Higgins off the field. That's still bad. But it is a big spike. So if Higgins plays, you have to wonder how much you're going to like a Sicki. But I do, I do love the revenge game narrative. And also the dolphins are terrible against tight ends. I mean, you could have stopped terrible. Yeah. I think the, the thing to keep an eye on here is if they're both out, there's reason for confidence in Myers, Gassicki, and to a lesser degree, Mitchell Tensley. If one plays, Myers and Gassicki become extremely risky. If both play, you're not starting anybody else. Yeah. Agreed. But also you say the dolphins are terrible. But from a fantasy standpoint, they're, they're bad against their bad against their good against receivers and yeah, they're good answer receivers. They allow the third fewest points to receivers. But this is, this is what the bangles used to be as well. Whenever you can run on teams to the level that teams are running on the dolphins, you just don't throw the ball enough. And when they have been thrown against, it was tight ends. You know, so that's the thing that benefits Gassicki here. And so hopefully if you did invest a lot of fab in Gassicki or a lot of fab in Myers, we would all much rather see T Higgins and Jamar Chase play because those guys are roster starting to really, but for the people that are desperate in chasing these positions and maybe handcuffing them to chase or Higgins, you're going to get some quality production if both are out. Again, if one plays, it just becomes extremely risky because one of Myers or Gassicki will probably do something. It's just hard to expect both. And this should be an unbelievable game for Chase Brown. Like, this is what the Chase Brown manager has been waiting for. You got really, I don't want to say lucky, but you got the benefit of the the the PPR boost last week with the 10 catches. This is a game where he should have a dominant run performance. And if you are completely stuck, look at some JP Ryan because there may be an opportunity for him as well. I just want to clarify one thing. Just the dolphins have been good. I think people probably I know you guys know this. The dolphins have been good against wide receivers because of the number of times people have thrown on a per target basis. They've been awful against wide receivers also. Yes. There it is. They don't stop wide receivers. There's team stop throwing. They match the team stop throwing. Teams started their tight ends against the dolphins too. It is a lot like previous bangle seasons. It's also a lot of who they've played. I mean, they played the Raiders who don't have a wide receiver that is going to command a lot of targets and Jack Beshcord to touch down against them. They played the Vikings without Justin Jefferson. And who knows Jordan had Addison, you know, popped up an injury port was dealing with that hamstring injury at some point during the game. So it's like there's been some circumstantial stuff here. Rashe rice. That was the game that he got going a little bit, you know, after a sluggish start was against the dolphin. So when you throw on them, I think you're going to have success. Like Keith said, it's just we just don't see it. All right. Malik Willis is a sit. We'll get to Ali Gordon in a second. Well, how about this? Ali Gordon or Malik Washington? I would probably go Gordon's upside, but Washington safer. I think I'd go Washington and full PPR Gordon and everything else. And in terms of Chris Bell, are you starting like pretty much all the waiver wire wide receivers, the Bills guys? Yeah. Yes. Okay. I mean, yes, I know it's tempting to say that, but he did have a 60-ish yard touchdown call back because he just barely stepped that abounds. He's one of these players that you'd love to see like a Denzel Boston type performance from him every now and then because he's capable of it. We saw it from Caleb Douglas in a week one. I still think that somebody you want to keep an eye on. You shouldn't be. You shouldn't need to roster at this point, but hopefully he gets healthy. I would love to see what they look like when everybody's there. You know, I mean, Malik Willis, he got a little overshadowed because of who he is by comparison to Jalen her. He had a game under 100 passing yards as well against Minnesota, not surprising because Minnesota is so good and he's not. But there still could be some potential for Malik Willis at some point this season to help fantasy managers. He's still running. You know, so you're getting that. Okay, so let's do some oligord and stuff here. We got some questions from the chat and we'll start with this. Kasicki or Goddard? I would go Kasicki if the receivers are out. Yeah. And just to be clear, like we're not expecting Goddard to play at this time. Sure. And if one receiver's out or if two receivers are out. If one receiver is out, still I would play Kasicki. Kasicki or Johan Johnson. Same thing. You'd have to be the receivers up. Johan for me. Period. Malik Washington or Keenan Allen. If he plays. I'd go Keenan, Washington for me. Angles DST or Jags. Jags. Yeah. Ali Gordon or Dalton Schultz at Flex. Gordon. Similar to what he said about Washington. Ali Gordon or Scataboo or Tutten, we need to. Ali Gordon said. I agreed. Sit Gordon. Ali Gordon, Quinshon, Judkins, Emmanuel Wilson, Bucky Irving, pick two. Wilson and Judkins for me. I think it's Bucky and Wilson for me. Would you start Ali Gordon or Devon Valey against the Vikings? Valey. Valey. Denzel Boston or Ali Gordon? Boston. Gordon. Okay. Keon Coleman or Gordon? Gordon. If more is out. Heath is higher on Gordon. Gordon or Jeremiah Love. Jeremiah Love. Okay. All right. Next game is the Raiders at the Patriots. Okay, this is the one where I've changed my mind on something. I think at the beginning of the week and I went on NFL play action and said it. I was saying to sit Drake May. And I said, you know, it's a horrible week for quarterback. So he'd probably end up being close to top 12 or something, but I wasn't too optimistic. I think the more I dug into it, I really don't think the Raiders defense is good. I think they're great. I think they're great at one thing. And it could be a huge problem. They're great at rushing the passer. They barely blitz and they get home a lot. They, well, they get to the quarterback. I don't know if they sack them. Fourth best pressure rate, something like that. And they barely blitz. But you look at some of the other stuff here. I mean, I think they could easily be beaten. So I've been more optimistic about Drake May. However, Drake May versus Kirk Cousins is a tough one. Who do you guys like? May for me. Do you like May this week? Yes. Relative to what quarterback is this week. I think Drake May is like he's a top 10 quarterback. You can obviously make a case for Drake May versus Cousins, Drake May versus Rodgers, Drake May versus Jacobi Berset. You know, these guys that weren't expected to be fantasy starters that have played better than at least in the case of Rodgers and Cousins and match up wise. Definitely favors Perset. Is he completely fixed because of one good game still doesn't have AJ Brown. The Raiders for what it's worth as have been a good team in terms of fantasy points allowed to pose in quarterbacks. I think part of that is who they played. Malik Willis Justin Herbert being two of those guys. So, you know, I'm hopeful that May runs because I think that's a big part of his fantasy production. It was such a big part of him as a rookie. It was part of enhancing his production last year and you saw it. He doesn't need to go for 54 yards. I think we all love 30 plus points from our quarterback but realistically, can he live in that 23 to 25 range or 20 to 25 range, where you'll just be happy with him as a starting quarterback and confident and starting him week to week? That's I think we'll be. So, I don't know if the ceiling is there. I just think Buffalo's defense is that bad and they were missing some guys last week. So, look, he struggled against them last year when they came to his building and he finished as an MVP candidate by the end of the season.
Whatever they did to fix him last week, get him more confident, playing well, hyper targeting who right now is the best receiver. There's gotta be some guys that make place for him. Hopefully that's continues. - And the other thing about May is that he's averaged 7.3 yards per attempt or better in three or four games. And 7.3 yards per attempt is what Matthew Stafford is averaging for the year. It's kind of average. And it's the past volume has been kind of an issue for him. And when you talk about that, there's only been one quarterback who's stored more than 30 times against the Raiders. It was Tyler Schock and he scored 32 fantasy points. So I just not really believing that the Raiders are that good of a defense. It's timeovers. - How many did my home throw? - What's that? - Oh, I don't know. But not 30. Or not more 30. - And again, that speaks to their defense. Like they got to place the chiefs with Rice leaving the game very early. - You threw 30. - Yeah, and overtime. - No, I didn't go to overtime. - That was another time. Oh, the call to overtime this car. - So anyway, the New England running backs, I mean, if Ramondra is out, where are you gonna rank Travion? - Top 15. - Top 20 for sure. - And Ramondra is in. Then these guys are much less appealing. We talked about Ramondra at the top of the show. The players to avoid, I believe, section. One of you was higher on him, but. - Yeah, I'm interested. Dave has Ramondra as a start for our show at noon. Let Heath and Dave debate that one. - Okay. And Romeo Dobbs is a number three receiver. Check the updated rankings. So I don't get yelled at. He is 29th for Jamie, 33rd for Dave, 35th for Heath. If Stevenson plays, who's the best flex for the Patriots? - Steven. - Probably. - Okay. What I'm encouraged by does is I think the absence of Mac Hollins, I assume he's not gonna play, is kind of a big deal actually. - Yeah. - Mac Hollins, 20% target per hour run rate are better in three or four games. He draws targets. Dobbs had nine last week caught two touchdowns. Hunter Henry, 16th for Jamie, 14th for Heath as of yesterday. Now it is 17th for Jamie, 14th for Heath, 22nd for Dave. You could do worse than Hunter Henry. The Raiders are 24th against tight ends, mostly because they're giving up touchdowns. They don't give up a lot of yards to tight ends. - Do you know what Romeo Dobbs A dot is this year? - No. - 16.1. - Yeah, it's high. If you're gonna have a high A dot, it's Drake May is a pretty good quarterback to have. That with, I think. - He was last year. - Yeah. All right, on the other side of the ball, cousins or stroud. - I like stroud better. - Same. - May or stroud. - May. - May stroud cousins. Okay, cousins is, he's not bad. Like the chiefs were giving up the fewest fantasy points the quarterbacks last week. Cousins were 26.6 points against them. He did throw 52 times though. All right, Patriots ninth best so far. - His worst game so far was week one, 19.8 points. - Yeah. - And that was with two interceptions on top of three touchdowns. He's been better than that in every game sense. So it's surprising because it's Cousins at his age, but I think this is a credit to what we talked about this obviously and their offensive line was definitely improved. And the Kubiac system has been great for him. - Yep. - Now start, startin' Bowers. (laughs) Stop Bowers and Genty. Michael Mayor Hunter Henry. Who do you like better? - Henry's definitely safe. Or one surprise me, Mayor has another good game though. - Yeah, Henry. - And Tucker really hasn't gotten a lot of targets since Bowers came back. He had eight last week, but again, more than 50 passes for Cousins. And four of the eight targets for Tucker were in the last minute and a half of the game. So you guys have him outside the top 36, Heath a little higher on Tucker than Jamie and Heath, but still not a guy we're looking to start. - He's one of these guys that's droppable if you can pick up Myers or Coleman or Roman Wilson. Mostly the bangles or bills replacements, like that's the type of receiver you can drop if you wanna pick up somebody that has more upside for at least one week. - You like DSTs in this game? - I don't like, but don't love. - Sure. - Okay, questions from the chat. Pick two, Cousins, Murray, Tyler Shuck. - Sitting Murray. - Yep. - If Jefferson plays? - Yep. - Yep. - Ramondray or Emmanuel Wilson? - Wilson. - Emmanuel. - May or Purdy? - Purdy. - Mayor Lawrence. - Lawrence. - I've got May. - Ramondray or Jeremiah Love? - Love. - Yep. - Say I dare, Cousins or Hertz? (laughing) - Cousins. - Cousins. - Gentier or Emmanuel Wilson? - You guys are dressed the same as the Avatar. - Gentie. - All right, Cleveland's at the Jets. I think we have three more games guys. Let's see if we can do it in 10 minutes. Start or sit to Sean Watson, Heath? - He's a high-end QB2 for me. I actually my favorite streamer. I love the fact that he's second amongst QBs in rushing. I don't think this Jets defenses one. You have to shy away from him. I think the Todd Monkan system is working for him. So, top 15 guy. - 13th for Heath, 18th for David and Jamie. To Sean Watson or Kirk Cousins? - Cousins. What's in for me? - Watson or Stroud? - Stroud. What's in for me? - All right, Quinchon Judkins. 14th for Jamie. Talked about him earlier. Heath, how come you're not as 16th for Jamie? - 16th. - You're not as high as Heath. You have been 20 seconds. I mean, I don't know if that's a big difference or not. I mean, it may be a bigger difference this week than it is most. He's got one game with more than 53 rushing yards. The receptions are awesome when they happen, but it's been every other week. So, I guess he's due for two targets this week. No, I just, I just not, that was a joke, but they're not reliable yet. So, he's an RB2. I just think a low end. - Okay. You heard Herbstree talk about it on the broadcasts that he felt like Judkins hadn't really looked like himself coming off the entry until last week. We finally started looking better. I watched some of his runs and met. He missed some two plays. He missed like the obvious holes. He could have had much better game. I don't know if that's a normal thing for him, but at least he was bouncing around out there and looked a little faster. Jets, by the way, give up the six most points to running backs. So, Boston and Concepcion. Jamie, how would you compare them to the streaming receivers this week? - So, if there are no bangles starters, I'd go mires over Boston. If one of the bangles guys plays or both, I would start Boston over mires. And I would start Boston over Coleman, even if Coleman Edgecare, even if DJ Moore is out. - You would start Boston over both bills guys, even if Moore's out. - Yes. - Okay. - I would too. The only wide receiver, I think, on the waiver wire that I would start over Boston as my league Washington. - And Concepcion has just got a hope for something, I guess, but he does have two straight games with eight or nine targets. - Yeah, he's just not doing much with them. It's, there's gonna be a game where he has like the Wondell Robinson, you know, six for 90 type game, seven for 98 for 99 for 90, he's based on his lack of yards per catch. It's just hard to envision it right now, but he's not a bad stash candidate in PPR. I'd like to, I've had thought about dropping him a couple times and I do not want to. - Concepcion, yeah. - Yeah, yeah. - Is Harold Fenn and Junior just an easy start at this point? - It's not easy matchup, but I think just given the fact that he's giving you three straight games of 10 or more PPR points. Last week was a little frustrating how he got it because it was touchdown dependent, but he does have three touchdowns in his last two games. So the way Dishon Watson's playing right now, I don't think you should have a lot of faith in his jet defense overall. I think it's a good start. - He is the definition of a borderline tied in one for me. - Sit Geno Smith, who is your favorite running back in this game? - Jack Allen. - He's made the case for Braille and Allen earlier. He had every running back touch since Breeze Hall's injury. Then I already, and I also said that Browns, they allow 4.8 yards per carry to running back. So I imagine Allen and Judkins are going to be started in a lot of leagues. - It should be. - What did you say? - It should be. - Would you start Allen or RJ Harvey in PPR? - Allen. - Allen. - Allen or Jalen Waddle? - Waddle, even at Dottle, please. - Yeah. - Okay. Waddle, even if who please? - I think Dylan Waddle, excuse me. I heard Jalen, I would start Allen over Dylan Waddle, excuse me. - I'll go Waddle and full PPR Allen in the wrist. - There I say, that was a mistake. - There you go. - Start care at will. - Although the Browns logo is bleeding into your shirt. (laughing) - Gee, you think of the name of the team of the Browns, you'd have more Brown and your helmet. But start care at Wilson, I know it was named after the owner. Very narcissistic thing to do, by the way. Any interest in Isaiah? - You would name your team the A'sers if you bought a team. - I would, I'd call them the Red Eyes. - The A's are the A'sers. - No one's interested in Isaiah. - Red Eyes will be so good. Do you get so many like airline sponsorships? - Anya Heath, Kenyan Sedeek, you're the only one who's got faith. - Yeah, it was a, it was a bad game last week, but I think that the Jets are probably going to have a little more success passing this week than Geno's
did last week. I think so. And he had four first read targets. Thank you, Jacob, for that stat. Cleveland's DST yesterday they were 44. I don't even know why a bother doing roster percentages on on Wednesday because a lot of leagues now run their waivers Wednesday night. For example, art will shiply last let yesterday was rostered in about 41% of leagues. Now he's over 60%. But the Browns DST they're out there three straight solid games. They're highly ranked this week. Denver is at the chargers. Heath, who are the players you want to start in this game? And stuff. The Broncos defense. Yeah. Even without Pats or Chan. Other than that, like I am going I would start in full PBR RJ Harvey over Omarian Hampton. I think Hampton and Mitchell are fine flexes. A lot old to low end wide receiver two. I don't really like I don't love anybody in this because they're the best flex. Probably Waddle. The issue I have with Waddle and I said it last week and it continues is I just don't know why. I don't know what happens when he struggles and what happens when he succeeds and what keys to look for. Oh well and matchups like this he does well. I don't know. It just seems completely random. His slot rate and his outside rate are all over the place like they use him differently. I don't know. So it's almost like you have to have blind faith in Jalen Waddle. And he's come through it decently since week one. Why do you call it touchdown last week? Yeah. Five for 35 and a touchdown. So it's not what he was terrible. I forgot. He was terrible against the Rams in week three. Granted, that is the Rams. I don't know. If both next doors for 200 yards, Waddle's come through with a good fantasy game. That's the pass game is struggling. It hasn't usually you get a player of his pedigree joining a new team and there's the boost right. The passing game gets better. The quarterback gets better. He's usually pretty good. The receiver. We just haven't seen that yet. So it's not like Pat Bryant being gone is going to be a huge boost for anybody because he's been getting like three or four targets per game, but maybe does help a little bit. I think you're just looking at Waddle as a number two receiver that you hope has a strong enough performance, but it just hasn't been consistent. And I should point out Durbin James is out and one of their cornerbacks for the chargers. He's injured as well. So it's a deplete like obviously their whole team is injured, but their secondary is a little bit depleted too. I should also point out this is something I was worried about preseason for Waddle. Cortland Sutton who's having a terrible year. He leads the team in red zone targets, green zone targets, and end zone targets. Jalen Waddle has two red zone targets. He does not have a single target in the green zone, which is 10 yard line and in or in the end zone, which is the painted spots behind the goal lines. So that's I don't know, maybe an issue for for Jalen Waddle. Obviously that could change what defining end zones. It was funny. It was good. Thank you. Thank you. RJ Harvey. I want to point out last two weeks he has career high target shares. Bonix has an unusually high running back target rate over the last two games, two of his top five in his entire career. So those of you who I see some people trading for RJ Harvey, I don't think you should expect like 17 targets or whatever it is in a two game stretch. Yes, 17 targets. It's this is like this is like the Broncos often starting to run it backs on steroids. Probably won't continue at this rate, but but it is happening. So he's worth a little Camara or the Camara or the new Camara RJ Harvey Harvey Harvey Harvey Harvey or Metcalf. Why not? It's a good one. I got Metcalf. I have Harvey. Which quarterback do you like better in this game? Next. He addressed his running or lack thereof yesterday and he said he still feels great. He's just trying to make more plays with his arm 25 rushing yards on the season. It's pretty bad. Yeah, that's terrible. Okay. And then sitting groom with McConkey plays, where are you going to rank him? Borderline top 24. So the fact that there is no Sir Tan is great. It's just how healthy is he? And I think that was something that was an issue going to last week. We kind of got sold the bill of goods that he was healthy. And he wasn't. I think your view him as a boom bus number three wide receiver, because he has the potential to be great and he has the potential to play after snaps. And if he's out, you like Tray Harris or Quentin Johnston? Harris, but not with a lot of confidence. Right. If McConkey's out, would you start Harris over O'Marion Hampton or Keaton Mitchell? No. No. Would you start Will Shipley over O'Marion Hampton and Keaton Mitchell? No. Hampton Shipley Mitchell. Would you start O'Marion Hampton or Keenan Allen if he plays? Hampton, probably. All right. We're not interested in C'monnie by Dell. Rodney Gas and at eight targets last week. That was cool. Listen, he's also in the streaming conversation if there is no McConkey because they just need healthy bodies to make plays at this point, but it's just the offensive line is such a disaster. Houston's at Denver's DST's start. Let me fly through a few questions here. See if we have any for this game. Waddle or Debo? Waddle. Yeah. Hampton or Jeremiah Love? Love. Yeah. Waddle or Christian Watson? Watson. Yep. Christian Tray Harris or Josh Downs? Downs. Yep. Flex spot, RJ Harvier, George Kittle. Kittle. Yep. Houston's at Tennessee. The Texans are getting a new play collar. Demiko Ryan's taken over, calling plays defensively. Hopefully that helps. CJ Stroud over Bonix and over Justin Herbert. CJ Stroud and Kirk Cousins. I think I asked you guys that earlier. I think you have Stroud, right? You went. Yeah. May Stroud Cousins. CJ Stroud over Jacobi Perset. Perset. I think Stroud for no. Perset. Now Tennessee they're giving up the fifth few as fantasy points to quarterbacks, but 26th in yards per attempt. Lamar Jackson scored 21 points and a half against them. So this is another one. I'm not really buying it that they're doing against. They did it all last year too, right? Did they? I'm not sure. Or they were good against wide receivers. One of the other, it was for the same exact reason. It's just like nobody has to throw against them. Yeah. That's true. This team though, they cannot run. So hopefully Stroud throws enough. And do you want to start? Like, how would you compare the chargers running back to the Texans running backs? I'd rather have the chargers guys. Both chargers over both Texans. Okay. So that is not. We do not want to start, David Montgomery, and Woody marks. And this is good run defense. They go up 3.63 yards per carry to running backs. And three running backs do have 20 or more carries against the Titans though. So again, they run, it seems run a lot. Don't throw a ton on Tennessee. Start Niko Collins. Start or sit Dalton Schultz. Thank you. Okay. Schultz. Yeah. I don't know. It's hard. This is kind of what tight ends do and receivers do it too. Up and down. There's no reason my Schultz can't have a good game. Schultz are Gadsden. Schultz. Schultz. Schultz or Gassickie. Gassickie if the receivers are up. Gassickie if both receivers are up. Sit cam ward. Tony Pollard or Damarian Hampton. Pollard. Hampton. Oh, this is a big difference here. He wants to make the case for Pollard. He's just getting a large share of the work. He's running very well. I think he's going to have a couple of catches. And I don't want to start Amarian Hampton. Pollard's 27th for Jamie 26th for Dave and 20th for Heath. Would you guys start Kyle Menonguy or Tony Pollard? Menonguy if he's healthy. Pollard for me. Okay. And then start or sit one day Robinson. Sit. Yeah. He's a low upside number three. Any Karnel tape questions in the chat here. Any Karnel tape questions. Karnel Tate or Tony Pollard. Tate. Tate. Karnel Tate or Denzel Boston. Tate. I think they're back to back. I go Tate. Karnel Tate or Ali Gordon. Tate. Tate. I'm excited that we got Karnel Tate, Heath and our 10 team lead. Yeah. Yeah. It was, I mean, it had to give up Klee Freeman, which is never easy. But we got him. We got him. We got him. Texans, DST. This is your last chance. They are number, they're top two in the rankings. I'm not seeing a lot of questions in the chat about this game. So I think I am ready to hang up the phone. And start Adam Azer, Jamie Eisenberg or Heath Cummings. Oh, Azer is questionable. And Jamie's Dave is spelled wrong. So we're going to go with Heath in this one. Thanks for watching. Listen to everybody. I saw a question there. Tate or Luthor burden. Oh, okay. I would go T. I'd go burden, but it's close. Is Adam a Red Sox fan? Yankees must have hurt you bad. But if you're thinking
Red Sox fan because of the color of my eye and my shirt. No, I'm not. We kicked the crap out of the Red Sox. Red Sox suck because if you lose that bad to the Yankees, you really suck because the Yankees are pathetic. They need to make serious changes to their organization. I am sick and tired of this complacency with just being okay. It is enough. They are losers and they are completely outclass by the type of a raise who spend almost no money on their roster is a joke. Do better, New York Yankees. FAQs
Josh Allen against the Rams and Brock Purdy against the Seahawks face tough defenses, but the Rams have allowed fewest yards per attempt, making Allen a high-risk high-reward pick. Purdy’s past performances against the Seahawks show low fantasy points, increasing risk.
Yes, Jayden Daniels is a safe start against the Giants. The Giants’ defense has struggled, and Daniels is expected to have a strong performance, especially as a dual-threat quarterback with high usage potential.
Ramarren Stevenson and Traveon Henderson are both injured or limited. Stevenson had a limited practice, and Henderson’s health is uncertain, making both risky starts with limited upside.
Yes, Braylon Allen is a strong option. The Browns allow 4.8 yards per carry to running backs and have given up no touchdowns, creating a favorable matchup despite being a low-scoring week.
No, Tyler Shuck should be avoided. Minnesota’s defense is dominant in pressuring quarterbacks, and Shuck has struggled with sacks and low production in past matchups.
Yes, RJ Harvey is a viable option. The Chargers have a weak run defense, and Harvey has shown efficiency as a rusher and is one of the best pass-catching backs on the team.
