Week 5 Recap: Monster Mike Evans, D.C. Clock-tastrophe, Packers Are Back, NFC Least, and Marvin Harrison’s New Home
115m 15s
The episode analyzes key games from Week 5 of the NFL season, focusing on standout performances and critical mistakes. The Ravens edge out the Falcons in a tense overtime game, where a dramatic 8-minute drive underscores the flaws in current overtime rules, which are seen as anti-climactic and unengaging compared to college football’s format. Mark Andrews’ inconsistent play contrasts with Isaiah Wynn’s near-perfect efficiency, highlighting the unpredictability of wide receiver performance. Michael Penix Jr. struggles with mechanics and accuracy, while the game’s setting in Atlanta adds irony given Tua Tagovailoa’s prior success in the same venue. The Washington Giants’ overtime ends in a tie due to poor clock management, including a fumble by Kyler Murray and a missed field goal, revealing serious coaching and communication breakdowns. Drake May delivers a breakout performance against the Raiders with 400 yards and five touchdowns, proving his recovery from early-season struggles and elevating him to top fantasy quarterback status. Jalen Warren achieves a rare feat by combining an 80-yard catch and 50-yard run in one game, joining Herschel Walker as one of only a few to do so. Jumir Gibbs dominates with 200+ yards and 9 touchdowns in five games, setting a modern fantasy record for points per game and demonstrating the effectiveness of high-volume, targeted usage in offensive schemes. The episode concludes with a broader critique of modern football coaching, where over-reliance on data and overthinking leads to bonehead mistakes, emphasizing that despite technological advancement, fundamental decision-making in high-pressure moments remains inconsistent and often disastrous.

Welcome to the ringer fantasy football show, my name is Dana Hypton. I'm joined by Danny Kelly and Craig Coralbeck and we are going over all the games from week five, starting with Falcon's Ravens. Craig, we demand strand. We demand Jack strand. They could have used them. Actually, no, I guess two in strand just come in and throw picks immediately. But there was no sign. I wish we cut to the guide. Was the strand guy there? I don't know. With the sign. Yeah, was he there? That's a bummer. I was really bummed from Michael Penex. Seeing him with the towel over his head, this poor guy, Collins was talking the whole game about, he's like, it's not the injuries. It's the recovery. And recovering three times and fighting your way back. And then like 10 minutes later, he takes a shot, maybe breaks a couple ribs and then he can't play the final series, which was really brutal because I think Penex is a likable guy. Yeah, Ravens beat the Falcon's 30 to 23 and overtime. Ravens came back. Actually did it anti Raven, where they actually came back down from eight and then actually went to overtime and then one overtime and had a dominant Derek Henry drive that actually went to plan for once. And they actually just took up like nine minutes, eight minutes of game time and then got it in the end zone. Despite DK, Mark Angey is trying to drop every ball imaginable. Oh my lord. This was the only thing DK texted us during all of a sudden that football is every time Mark Angey was just targeted. He would just be like, another ridiculous target to Mark Angey, so for hands. Can we go through what he did in this game? He, first off, he dropped a touchdown. I think in the first quarter, he fumbled on his first catch of the game later. He also, which came to touch them. Yeah, the other way, which for the other team. And then he was, he caught a two point conversion, but it was promptly punched out of his hands. He caught another pass in a crucial situation late the game, which was promptly punched out of his hands. Um, I don't, I don't understand the deal with this. It like, what he, somebody in my mention said this, he's the, he's the worst good player I've ever seen in my life. I don't know if that makes any sense. You hate the worst good player. DK has hated Mark Angey's from the beginning. You didn't like him in 2019. I mean, it's been years and years. He's good at catching. It's, it's the holding. That's the problem. That's the holding of the ball. That really matters. Um, my God. And, and also just like juxtaposition of what Isaiah likely did today versus what Mark Andrews has been doing is, is, is so dramatic and stark. I see a likely Schrodinger's touchdown every Isaiah likely touchdown has to be within like two inches of the line or the end line or something. I mean, it's just I, I, I'm happy for Mark Andrews that the Ravens won this game because otherwise people were going to be all over him. I'm sure they will be anyway, but this was it. This was a really tough showing. I, I do feel bad though for Michael Pentax Jr. because he was playing well in this game. I don't think he's great, but like he does. I do watch Michael Pentax that I find myself rooting for him. I've won a U2. I don't remember who texted during the game. And we're, was like, I don't know if Michael Pentax is bad or if he's really good, but his throwing motion looks bad. Yeah. I think like, he kind of has a little fill of rivers to him. Like the way he throws it's like a push or something. Yeah. Yeah. Every time he throws it, it looks like it's like in the ball slipped a little bit or something, but then it goes to the right spot. And so I don't know if it's like he's not that good at throwing or if it just looks ugly. And that's why I think that, but he's because he's left handed. I might be. I literally during the draft process, someone was flipping like the highlight package for Michael Pentax. So it was like revered. It was mirrored. So he was throwing with his right hand. I was like, Oh, he looks like it. Just he looks like a normal thrower in this. It's totally normal. No, there's no way. I, you know, can I give you my, because he's left handed and we're like, this looks wrong. Can I tell you like, this is embarrassing because you watch him a lot. Every single time Michael Pentax throws lefty, I'm surprised. Right. And that was different. Did he do that? The throw, but every time he bootlegs to the left. And I'm like, then he go, I'm like, no, wrongs on many throws left. I'm like, right. You know, every time that happens in day-to-day life with me. I'm left handed and people very close to me sometimes. I'll just like pull out a piece of paper and start writing something down. They'll be like, man, I keep forgetting your left hand. They know me for 15 years. I'm like, that always left-handed people are always scary people. Oh, I think I barely remember your left-handed. This is a great set, ESPN had. I think because to have played tonight, I think the Falcons of the third team ever to play two lefty quarterbacks in the same season, which maybe that doesn't sound like much, but just even when you have a lefty quarterback, the Falcons of the first team to be like, screw it, we'll have two lefties. Like, you just, teams don't do it, teams hate it. But yeah, Tua was terrible. Michael Pentax, he's so bad. I can't believe Tua. I cannot believe how quickly this guy threw the fucking game away. And I actually kind of believed a little, the teensiest bit just because this game was in Georgia. This game is in Atlanta at the Mercedes Benzdome, which is where Tua and Jalen Hertz, they're like, you know, it was Harry Potter, like the Twin Wands. They were just like forever and twined because Tua replaced Jalen Hertz in the national championship and he won the game. Then they're gonna touch down the Devante Smith. Oh, yeah. I was like, 28. Tua used to have incredible arm strength. It's the hip injuries. No, everyone, for everyone, Tua is not so many injuries. People forget the hip injuries are what's limited to his arm strength because it's really leg strength. And you thought the magic of the stadium was going to propel him to victory? A little because like then a year later, Tua got hurt. And then Jalen Hertz came in and beat Georgia in the same stadium. And Jalen Hertz didn't transfer instead. So like, I don't know. I just part of me was like, it'd be kind of nuts if Tua won in the stadium again. Then he just immediately threw the same interception. He always fucking throws, which is just on. It's unbelievable. It's not seeing the defender. We called that the burger this in 2026. It's yeah. Yeah, Kyle Hamilton just immediately knowing how to intercept them. But yeah, so the Ravens win that probably was how it should have gone. But Atlanta almost went 3 and 0 in this prime touch stretch that we made fun of them. I was going to say I kind of felt like coming out of this. I'm still pretty impressed with the Falcons overall. Sure. Even though they did lose, it just feels like they are such a more professional team than they were in those first two weeks. So at least there's that. He just needs panics to be healthy. I mean, I'm assuming he didn't even go into the tent. He just like kind of didn't go back in because I think he knew he had done something. But it was funny that he didn't go into the tent. But this game, I feel like from a fantasy perspective, it wasn't looking great for like, like if you had a, you know, if you were down 20 points and you had like Drake London or something like that, or it was a little scary or Zay flowers. But the second half, there was a lot of ketchup. Drake London started coming on. They started Thursday flowers a ton. Over time helped a lot for Derek Henry. So it ended up being an actually like a decent fantasy day across the board for everybody involved. I got to say that the overtime drive that the Ravens had where they marched down the field eight minute drive, something like that. The NFL still hasn't figured out overtime. I think I think it's just still bad. The last thing I want when we get to overtime, I just watched four quarters. I just watched a lot of football and then we started a new quarter and I just watched another 10-minute drive that could end in a field goal that can happen in overtime. I don't know what you want to do. I want them to do what college does. Start on the 25 or the 20 and the end zone's right there. That's what I want to do. I don't want to see them have to manufacture an entire drive that could take nine minutes. Where's the fun in that? No, that's dumb. Well, I mean, we'll get to the Giants commanders too. It's horrible. It's stupid. Like college overtime is a hundred times more entertaining than pro overtime. Yeah, but it's also more unfair. Like the coin flip has a way larger influence in college football over time than any other format. Well, that's fine. You can tweak with that, but I think just starting closer to the end zone is just the move. Like, I want to know if you can get the ball in the end zone, not if you can work your way down over seven minutes and maybe the other team only has two minutes left. That's stupid. I think a new overtime is pretty good. I don't see what's wrong with it. Like the Ravens, they held it to be exciting. And I don't think it's exciting. It's like, everybody, each team gets a possession and also you could just have a nine minute drive and eat up the game and kick a fuel goal in the games. They also think they scored a touchdown on the overtime drive. No, I know that I'm just saying it could have ended in a fuel goal and you could have a nine minute drive that ends in a fuel goal, which is not what I want out of overtime. Do you feel though a decay? It's supposed to be exciting. I want it to be exciting. I don't know if I necessarily want the college rules, but I understand what Craig is saying.
It is just kind of like a funny, extra period of football that it's just kind of bizarre. I, when I was thinking-- - You're saying, you're not saying it's bizarre. He's saying he's annoyed 'cause it resembles the game. I think that's the point, is people one over time resemble the game, not for it to be like manufactured to be exciting. - I don't know. The thing I always think is funny when overtime starts, and this is maybe just because they've changed the rule so many times over the years, is that the referees give this big long spiel about how overtime works. And I feel like some coaches still don't really know the rules, which is, you know, it's maybe a little foreshadowing on what we'll talk about with another one. - I'm just watching two teams punt in overtime. I don't need that. I don't want that. (laughing) - I think I agree more that it's better than the college. I think I agree more with Typhus on this. I don't think I really want the college one, the college version. - The college one is electric, dude. (laughing) - Electric. - It's, yeah, it's, I think there's, you know, qualities for both of them, but I think I prefer the NFL version. - I have like, what's your favorite NFL overtime memory? I feel like I could rattle off like 10 iconic college ones where you're like on the edge of your seat. Now it's like, oh, NFL overtime, eight minute drive. Feel goal. - Nice. - It is a little anti-climactic. - It's super anti-climactic. - No, I feel like the problem with, no. I actually disagree a lot. I think that the current overtime they got is pretty good. It's like appropriate. I don't think it's entertaining. - I don't even know what to do with that, but like Cheryl, to appropriate seems like the whole point. (laughing) It's appropriate. It's the goal. - No, no, the goal is entertainment. It's sports, maybe. The goal is entertainment. - Craig wants the XFF. - Craig hates, you're mad that the Ravens ran the ball and had an eight minute drive. - I'm not like, I'm not like pissed about this right now. I'm just saying, I think, I think people want to be entertainment when they want sports. I don't, it's why they changed baseball because baseball was long and slow. - Oh, you're just mad, the Dodgers lost. That's what this is about. - You're mad that Dodgers lost the Scooble on the mound. - What the fuck are you talking about? (laughing) - Are you mad? - I never knew it was that long with this. - There was an overtime game in NFL and I watched it and there was another overtime game earlier today in the NFL and ended it tied. I'm like, it's kind of boring. I want it, I'm saying baseball did a good job where they made baseball more entertaining because it was boring. Don't you agree with that? Don't you agree? They made baseball more entertaining, which is the goal to be entertaining. - I'm not bored watching overtime. I'm surprised by this tank. I don't watch overtime and think that like, I don't know, I don't get it. Anyway, I clearly wish to talk about it. - I'm not bored. - But okay. Washington Giants the overtime was boring. - Nobody scored. - Let's just get into it. What about Washington Giants the scoreless corner? - He's scottable and it's fine. - Clearly you had no fucking ties to this game because my fucking heart in this game, I almost-- - Yeah, that's the whole point, general fans. Obviously you're a fan. - You're a fan. - What about this was boring. Kim scottable fumbled with the game on the line and then Washington thicketed. You think that was a bore of all the words of the universe? You think Washington Giants overtime was boring? - Kind of. - Nobody had seen scored. - It was like kissing the whole ending of ties, like kissing your sister. It was like a totally unsatisfying. - Yeah. - Yeah, that's not the end. Of course the ending was unsatisfying with the tie. But like-- - It was like two, it was just two inept, idiot teams fucking up. Fucking everything up at the end. - Yeah. What if I feel like I'm in the fucking toilet zone? What are we even talking about? - You always try to take what I'm saying and make it like at a 13 out of 10. I was just kind of casually saying, like I think over time it's a little boring and then you ambushed me. - Yeah, Craig, go on the hottest take and say this, all right? - Yeah, yeah. - I'm mad that you think Giants Washington's boring. I don't know of all the things that I, nobody was bored but anyway. - I think it doesn't like it when we disrespect his Giants and I get that. - I'm mad. - You talk about this game though. Let's talk about over time. - So the one division leading New York Jack. - God damn right. So my loser for the week is the NFC Least, which I, everyone's seen the step by now, but the NFC East, the windless, NFC East as a division does not win a game this week, even though two of the teams played each other and then the other team played someone who is 0 and 4 and the other team is winning with eight seconds left and yet none of them won. Giants tied a division opponent and gained ground in the division, which is just an all-timer. Cowboys lost to Jalen Daniels and undrafted rookie free agent for an 0 and 4 team on Thursday of football. The Eagles were winning with eight seconds left. - Oh my God. - Honestly almost worst in the Ravens game that they lost 'cause at least that one was a weird decision and the Thursday night game was the Cowboys looked like they weren't trying, which was crazy. - Second time this year that's happened. - Two out of five, not great. - In America, two out of four. - I have a team I've ever seen. - The Eagles again, winning with eight seconds left at lost and they are there under 500 for the first time in five years. And then yeah, and then Giants came, Scataboo had one job, which was don't fumble and then he fumbled and they kind of-- - Maybe he's in where gloves. - Dude, he's like, there's a goalie in Ted Lasso season four that's just, I mean, it's not spoilers at the first five minutes season. Golly doesn't wear gloves. And they're like, "Why?" She's like, "I want to feel everything." And like, that's Scataboo. And then all of a sudden, he fumbles. - He probably wasn't back in the lead. It doesn't aren't gloves. - In the rain, probably. - Yeah. - What are we doing? - And then, yeah. And then obviously Washington has a game winning field goal. I mean, with 50 seconds left, they let the whole thing drain away and then they just don't kick the field goal. So I think the overall end of the east, it's an abomination, but I will say this, as a Giants fan, I don't think the Giants or Washington should get the tie. They should both have lost this game. They should both get a loss. - That's actually pretty good, take. - Yeah. - They don't get, 'cause you get like a half a win. - Well, 'cause Scataboo-- - You should not get a half a win. - You gotta lose full loss. - Well, they missed a field goal. Giants missed a field goal and then they fumbled and then the commanders ran the clock out. - Literally. - Horrible. - Literally ran the clock out. - Literally ran the clock right out. - I think like however bad you think the way that the commanders ended the game, however bad you think that was, it's actually worse somehow. - It's true. - Going back and just like rewatching that sequence, I am just appalled. Appalling is the only way that I can describe this whole thing that went down. I don't know exactly what happened. I think as one of the announcers will say, who was, Mike Tomlin was saying on Sunday night, football, he's like, I don't know if we'll ever really know what happened there. - I love that. - Because no one's going to fucking admit it. - Yeah, that's the situation. - But it sure feels like they thought they had a timeout. Based on everybody's body language, the way that it happened, they basically had the ball in field goal range with 50 seconds left on the clock. And then they very, very slowly huddled up. They waited like 10 seconds before they even huddled and they huddled for like 10 seconds. They ran the play and then it was like, they didn't even snap it until there was like-- - 13 or 14 seconds left. - 13 second mark, Washington snaps the ball. - With no timeouts. No timeouts. - No timeouts. - They should have just kicked a field goal at that moment. - Oh, it was a 23 yard line. It was like a 47 yard field goal or something. It was a no-brainer. First of all, as Magic Johnson posted, my no-ready owner of Washington, I'm in total disbelief. My commander, such poor clock management in today's overtime game against the Giants, all we had to do was kick the field goal. We would've won the game before. - I don't know, I gotta say he missed that. - He did nail that. - He is dead on. I mean, I can't, yeah, I can't put it any better than that. They should have kicked the field goal to win. - I'm curious what you guys think. So my immediate reaction, 'cause I was watching this and I was kind of, I was in shock as the clock was ticking down and I was thinking that Jayden, I was like, I don't know why they were doing this for one. I get in theory, you know, if you miss the field goal, you don't want the Giants to have like nine seconds or something to go get another field goal. But I'm like, kind of overthinking it. And I was thinking Jayden's gonna throw it away and I'm wondering if we're gonna get an intentional grounding. And maybe like, there'll be a runoff or the kick will be further away. Never in my wildest dreams that I think that they didn't know what the fuck was going on. And then he like starts running and gets tackled. And I'm like, oh my God, like this game is, this is over. And so at that point, I thought that the whole, everybody involved didn't know the timeouts. The announcers thought they didn't know the timeouts. I think the announcers are projecting 'cause the announcers, if you watch the click, if you rewatch the clip, the announcers definitely didn't realize that there were no timeouts left. - Oh right. - 'Cause they were, if you're listening to them, they're not pointing this out. So I will say, if you see the sideline, the moment Jayden Daniels is tackled, the sideline for Washington's freaking out. The sideline clearly did know. - They know. - There were no timeouts. - Which makes no sense. - They know. - They know, but the offense, P-players on the field. They didn't know. - No, they didn't. - And so that's what I'm wondering is like, where in the chain did it break down? Because Jayden Daniels either said he knew, or the real answer is I think the offense called a play. And why David Blow and Dan Queen called a play was insane. But I also, Chris Paul, the guard for Washington said that in the huddle, it was communicated to them that they did not have a timeout. - Lying, that's what I'm wondering. - Because like, none of the players look like they know. - Yeah. - The whole thing is sad. - They definitely didn't know. There was a, you could see the play call come in to Jayden Daniels helmet. And he was nodding his head. Like, God it, God it, God it, God it. And I have to believe that they didn't tell him in that moment that he had a timeout or something. Because if they told him right before the play, that he did not have a timeout, why would he have done what he did? Nobody must have told him in that. He just must have thought he had a timeout. - So he basically, Jayden, I feel like if Jayden fucked up, I feel like he would have fell on the sword a little more than he did because in his press conference, he kind of subtly was like, yeah, I mean, it starts from the top, like all the way to the bottom, but ultimately it's my fault. And yeah, no, the most charitable interpretation is they told him.
him and he had a brain fart, but also why are you calling the play? And I think that's the nice version is that calling the plays insane and they told him that he had a brain fart. In reality, I don't know if they told it. I know there's a whole thing of how could you possibly be on the field in that situation and not know. The reality is you have to tell the coaches are telling you in your radio like what the situation is and what you're supposed to do. And he should know, but realistically, like most quarterbacks in their 20s, like you're telling them exactly what to do in that situation. Maybe like it cut off right before he said, and remember, we have no time out. And remember, this is really important trip, trip slide X Y red rover. And there's no timeouts. Remember that. It must have been that. It's like so straight out of like a friggin slapstick. And remember, this is the most important thing. Remember, just don't never. You're fine. The thing about like high fifths, what you're talking about, the thing that makes it so egregious to me is again, it's just how slow everything went. It's not like it was, oh, hurry up and get to the ball and we'll run a play and whatever. Like it doesn't get lost in the chaos score bug or had no sound on you. Thought it was the end of the first quarter, the way they were behaving. Yeah. Yeah. It was the it was he literally stood there. Jane Daniel stood there after the last play for a good like 10 or 15 seconds, looking at the sideline, getting the play call in. He moseyed over to the to the huddle. They huddled up for like another or 10 seconds. They were moving so slow. It was incredible. I would argue. I don't think I even thought about this till just now. Maybe this is obvious. Maybe the most damning part of the J and Daniel's behavior is that he neither at the whole well, did he know they had a time out or not. He wasn't calling for a time out either. He's just laying on the ground. He didn't know how much time was on the clock. And the whole funny thing is I think the reason the coaching part is insane is not only did they fuck up the communication. They were so overthinking it because again, you're in the position. You have the 45, seven yard field goal, whatever. They already called the reshot white run to set up the kick. So when you're calling a pass play, you're trying to waste what? Four seconds. Like that's insane alone that could call like the risk reward of calling a play with no time outs to kill four seconds versus what happened. Why they would even do that is insane. But yeah, it just doesn't make sense. This team's worth like $10 billion. I don't understand how they could possibly be. I just never know how they could be in this situation. Anyways, it was a tie with all that said the game and the game ended and it was a tie. Kim Scataboo gets the Josh Hard Award for just being bailed out of an all time fuck up because the same way Josh Hart missed a dunk and then the next one, the finals anyway, Kim Scataboo fumbled away this game and the potential division lead five game. Yeah, not quite the same as being not quite the same. But yeah, but no one will ever remember it really. Yeah. And we're if you let where do you lay more Dan Quinn, David Blow, Jaden Daniels, fucking this up. Oh, man. I don't know. To me, it's got to be Dan Quinn. I mean, it's your job to make sure that your players know the situation on the field. And if your players didn't know it, to me, that's the coach's fault. I don't know. To be honest, like I kind of feel like it's Jane Daniels fault. Just I feel like he they're my the best case of area over this or I think is that he went to roll out and he was trying to kill a few seconds before throwing the ball away. He's trying to get out of the tackle box. And then he just panicked and held on the football and got tackled instead, which is like a huge mistake, but ultimately like not quite as damning as all these other scenarios where it's like they didn't know they had a timeout or whatever. So to me, the best case scenario is there's just like a brain fart by Jane Daniels. And it is what it is kind of deal. But if it was more than that, like they legitimately didn't know they had a tie they had no timeouts. Like that's pretty that's pretty. I see what the sideline did. But then for whatever is the players in the field did not decay the reason why I think I disagree with you is because if you watch the play when Jaden goes down, he is not panicking to get up quickly. Yeah. None of the players around him, none of the offensive lineman really do anything either. It's kind of hard. The receivers are not. I don't think he was like, Oh, I got to throw this away because he went down. He was kind of just laying there and then looked around and was like, why is everybody freaking out? And then he kind of got up. That's the real issues. Jaden had the least awareness on the field. And the irony of the whole thing is I thought Jaden Daniels played great. And this whole return from this elbow injury is completely overshadowed. He had to, Jen Jaden was run for a hundred yards and two touchdowns in this game. Yeah. Two big touchdown runs. And again, washing. Yeah. The whole thing, the whole game was kind of funny because Washington was just in the middle of this run of the mill blown lead where they gave up 14 points to get to overtime. James Winston played great. And now it was a good comeback. But yeah, man. I brutal ending. It'll be interesting to see what this leads to in in Washington. I mean, when Dan Quinn gets fired, this will be in the first paragraph. Yeah. Honestly, like this is whenever, you know, probably at the end of the season or whatever, but this is like one of those X for ownership that they can't get over or GM's and ownership, probably a dumb comment. But I think this one will stick with people longer than a lot of these things because because the tie, every time you see the record, you remember the fucking totally. It doesn't just disappear. What do you mean we were eight and eight that year? Oh, yeah, there was a tie. That's true. It's just it'll never go away. It's like, honestly, the whole season will just be like, right? Yeah, the one with the fucking tie where they ran out of time. Can't spill time without the tie. Okay. The other, the other I didn't see least thing that happened. The other incredible macular timing was the Eagles Jaguar's ending where the as almost out doing the Cowboys giving up the shortest game, winning drive ever with the seven seconds to the Ravens a couple weeks ago, the Eagles and Xerionni come in and take a two point lead with eight seconds left. And then perhaps over correcting from that Cowboys game where they kicked the ball out of bounds, the Eagles kicked the ball to Jacksonville. So then Jacksonville then in a bad beat, bad run out for Xerionni, the Jaguars then return it 50 yards zeros on the clock. The referees add the second back, which was correct, but weirdly happened at the end of each half. The Jaguar's got a second added one second back on the clock. Put one second back on the clock and then the Jaguars kick of 57 yard winner came little to win the game. And this was a crazy game, but Xerionni, after we're just kind of took all the blame. I'm curious what you thought of this decay. I do think it's it's different from the Cowboys situation for a couple reasons because not as bad. It's not as bad, but the Jaguar, it's not as bad. It's more nuanced. The Jaguar, it's a bad beat, but the Jaguars did not have a timeout, which was the difference. And also the Jaguars returned to the opening kickoff of the game for touchdown. So like it was not shocking as much as other ones where it's like, Oh, kickoff touchdown. It already happened two and a half hours ago. So, but also it's kind of miraculous at the same time. It was simple enough where I think most people at home, we were all texting about this. We were like, it was like, because I was X, I watched the second half of this game. This was the London game. It was 630 Pacific when it started, but I watched the second half. And it was obvious when it happened, you're like, wait a minute. Why would they, they have no timeouts? Like, this is obvious. Even if the Jags get the ball at the 35, if you kick it out of bounds, like, or if you kick it, you know, if you get a touchback, what can they do? Like other than I guess a PI down field, which would get you a second play, there is basically no realistic scenario where they would probably be in field goal range. So it's not as bad as the Cowboys screw up because that was ridiculous. But once again, it's like, I don't know. It's like these coaches, it's like, we have too much information now. I feel like there are more bonehead mistakes despite having more information in analysis at your disposal than ever before. And I don't know if every coach is over thinking it or if there's like the devil and the angel on your shoulder of the analytics versus gut check. And they can't decide what to do now. But it feels like there are just as many bonehead mistakes now, just by having much more information. Yeah. The, uh, this was a weird game, though. I mean, again, the two players were ejected on the first kick, on the opening kickoff of Eagles, Jags. And one of them was named Brian, Brian Thomas Jr. And it's not even Brian Thomas Jr. It's a Brian white. On the Jags, the other one. Yeah. Yeah. You wouldn't know it because Brian Thomas didn't have any fucking catches in this game. Uh, but then yeah, the Jags had a second and 40. And then their punter, they did a punt. And the long snapper got hurt. So the Jags defensive tackle had to do the field goal stamps and the pun snaps. And all of that happened before the Eagles, the offense even went on the field. And so it's just a bizarre game. And so Devon Hamilton is this defensive tackle. And every Jaguars field goal, the MVP of this game was the holder for Jacksonville who every single field goal had to stand up and grab the ball and put it down. So it's just a weird game overall. But um, yeah. Shout out to a beer of dill of returning a ball 53 yards. He can tackle this pretty electric return. It was pretty good. I do look like quietly hung around for like 12 years. Yeah. In his league. He's always fun to watch actually. DK, who's your winner of the week? Let's see a little positivity here. I'm going to go with Mike Evans who had an incredible incredible game in the party nighters. Well, for the 49ers, not for me, certainly. Because that was like an absolutely horrible game to watch. Like my way of my heart out. I got to say Mike Evans. I don't know if you guys saw this. The this uh, Tervant eggs was talking shit to him from like basically chirping at him, kind of chasing him around the field after a play. Mike Evans turns around like who is talking to me? And he literally turned him around. It was one of the greatest moments in professional
football history, I think. He literally looked at him and hesitated for a sec, grabbed him by the shoulders and turned him around so he could see his nameplate and tell and figure out who the fuck was talking to him. It was the greatest, like, who are you, moment? It was, oh my god, it was classic. Even as a Seahawks fan, I think that's one of the greatest things ever happened, Richard Sherman tweeted after the game, he was like, damn, I wish I would have thought of that. It really was the best, you know, because after the game, Mike Evans was like, no, really, I didn't know he was. I just wanted to sing. And one of the fact that I want to know he was, so Mike Evans, like, you know, so I grabbed just spun you around. Look at your name. It was like, who is, who are you? Who is talking to me? He was, he was like, all right, it's fucking digs. Something about the idea that Mike Evans genuinely was like, I actually don't know who you are. It's the biggest, like, the biggest alpha move I've ever seen in my life. He literally grabbed it, grabbed it by the shoulders, like, he was like a seven-year-old kid, turned him around to look at his back, and it was like, oh, okay, I see you. He's stitched it in the back of your shirt somewhere, who are you? Anyways, Evans was awesome in this game. He absolutely torched the Seahawks. Seven catches, 113 narrows that touched out. I also had a two-point conversion. He was really clutch late in the game. Every time they needed a play, every time the 49ers needed to come up with something, he was there to make just like a ridiculous catch. There was, there was several moments in this game where I was like, holy shit, he's the biggest person I've ever seen. He's just towering over anybody that the Seahawks would put on him. And it was like a little, it was just like, a little kid trying to, you know, jump up and grab the ball when Shaq is like, you know, backing him down in the paint. It was crazy. I saw this stat from Doug Clausen. I swear, I've mentioned this guy every week. In terms of EPA, pretty to Evans is the best connection in the NFL right now. By EPA, that makes sense because obviously my Kevin's is not better than he was when he was younger. But watching my Kevin's this season for the Niners, even though he's so banged up, my Kevin's feels more impactful than he was. Big time. Like every catch my Kevin's has is just for a first down or for the biggest play of the game. Yeah. Yeah. Greg Rosenthal, buddy. He pointed out that Evan's leaving for less money to go to the 49ers quite possibly swings the two divisions because him leaving is obviously been really bad for the Buccaneers. The Buccaneers are really. And then, you know, huge for the 49ers who are now five and oh and beat the Seahawks in their in their building. Huge win for the 49ers. Terrible, terrible loss for the Seahawks on so many levels. This was one of like most frustrating games to watch. I could remember for the Seahawks. I think what the other thing about my Kevin's is that I think he feels like a Niner. Like I think he kind of embodies their spirit. Like, he fits in right next to George. The digs in the victory. Yeah. Debo. Oh my god. Grind out like no matter what. We have no idea who's healthy this week, but we're going to win anyway. My Kevin's has that. I mean, the guy's playing with broken ribs. Every time he catches the ball, it's unbelievable. There was a close-up of him walking to the sideline. He basically has to leave after he makes a catch every time because he's in so much pain, he's got to like gather himself before coming back in. There was a close-up of him walking off the field after a catch, and it's like his eyes are closed. Yeah. He's just angry. He's teeth. I'm like, man, this guy is dying out there. And he doesn't know. And Tom Brady's sitting there like, I love this guy. Yeah. I mean, yeah, they have a history too. Like all my Niner's friends, my Niner's fans, friends were texting today that they were like, Mike Evans is like the best true wide receiver Brock Brady's ever had. Because like Debo, kind of a different style. Yeah. It's pretty impressive that I mean, they didn't even have that much time to play together. Mike Evans, like, didn't play a lot and or didn't practice a lot in August and trade. Oh, he had like five different entries. Like they have phenomenal chemistry despite not really, you know, it's like point guard power forward type relationship that Brock Brady and Mike Evans have in the red zone. It's very impressive what pretty has with like kind of the first real true wide receiver he's ever had. I feel like I decided today that Mike Evans when he's up for the Hall of Fame, I'm going to be like fucking demand that Mike Evans makes the Hall of Fame. Like he's actually that good. But also this game was crazy and Mike Evans was the portness storm. And again, how many turnovers were there this game? Seven. Seven turnovers, which is the most friendly game this season. This was an awesome game. One of the games of the year. I don't really feel that way, but objectively, I think you're right. Yeah. It was a terrible game for me to watch personally. The Seahawks have a better if there was some cool over. Seahawks have some fucking massive problems. It's it's quite frustrating to watch. The defense is really good in their offense. Just it's they're pulling a stride from last year. They their offense just can't get out of there. George Alani Fump. They were trying to go to halftime with like five seconds left and just run the ball out, run the clock out. And Halani fumbles in the fucking end zone like an idiot. Like I was just like, what are we doing? That was like so brutal. You guys have first of that fumble was that was like true. Yeah, one of the worst. It was. Yeah. Oh my god. It was almost like don't think of a polar bear. It was like don't fall. They only don't fumble. Don't fumble. Don't think it is. Oh god. The you guys also have a weird inability to reset. Donald just second week in a row throws a pick on the first drive. And then he also throws it. He threw another pick on the first drive of the second half, right? Trying to remember there's just so many turnovers. But yeah, it's like both your running backs fumble. Yeah. So I think he yeah, he he was targeting a royal on like a crosser and just like dramatically under through it. Yeah, the see I feel like this is the same shit we were talking about last year in the sea, actually where I'm like, they're playing great. They're a good team clearly, but they just have a massive turnover problem that starts with Donald who can't stop turning the goddamn ball over there. There's people in the Seattle area that truly like genuinely and not ironically want true lock to start now. And that that just kind of gives you an idea of where the sea ox offense is right now. They have no run game. They're terrible at running. And they're constantly putting Donald into bad situations on their down. And he's not helping because he's making terrible decisions. Our best player, Jay Sen, is amazing that he dropped like a play that maybe would have been like a either put them in a position to tie the game or win the game. There's like this deep pass down the field that it just kind of went right through his hands. Man, just a brutal, brutal loss for the sea ox. I don't like the 49ers played awesome. I think they deserve to win that game or whatever, but like it was really frustrating from the sea ox point of you. You mentioned Mike Evans might flip two divisions, leaving in free agency. I think Ken Walker leaving might flip two divisions leaving. That's a good call. Ken Walker. I watch the sea ox. I'm like, man, I look at, you know, obviously, you know, Josh Job got picked on by Mike Evans all day, a cornerback. But I'm like that. Josh Job kind of got Ken Walker's money. And I'm looking at him like, man, would you rather have drafted a rookie running back and pay Josh Job or kept Ken Walker drafted a rookie cornerback because holy shit, like I feel like the sea ox with Ken Walker undefeated. And I look at, I don't know who you know, the chiefs wouldn't be the same. So I don't know. Yeah. So it's a tough pill to swallow because I love Count Walker. Just brutal. I also want to just shut I think Fred Warner might be the defensive player that you're so far. Fred Warner is the most impactful linebacker of the league. He forced a fumble early in the game. This whole game was just like fun fun fun funables and turnovers and deep deep in each other's ends. It was like they kept giving each other short fields every time. It also can't be. It cannot be overstated how injured the Niners are. I mean, Debo Samuel and Jacob Cowling left the game with an injury today. Like Brandon Cooks was an was an integral part of the team at the end of this game. It's week five. Brandon Cook is involved. It's it's crazy what the Niners are dealing with. They're best player. They're one where receivers broken ribs and he's like 34 and they have a 33-year-old tight end with it Achilles Terry's working. And then he has their other 200 receivers got hurt. It's unbelievable with their dealing with that's why party to me is easily the MVP. And I do think Warner's the defensive player here because the 49ers defensive line is down six guys and their defensive lines playing great. And to your point, the 49ers are down basically six pass catchers in the passing game is great. And like that's just it's elite. But yeah, the Craig, who's your winner the day? It's got to be Drake May. It's got to be Drake May, baby. He's so wild with two. It's wild with two weeks. Can we change it two weeks? We argued six four days ago whether or not he was the he was the worst pick you can make at quarterback through the first month of the season. And now he might be maybe the best. The path beat the hell out of the Raiders today 45 to 17. Drake May had 39 fantasy points. It was the most of his career. He had 400 yards five touchdowns zero turnovers. He took one sack. He was like borderline perfect in this game. He threw four touchdowns. He ran one. The deep ball was totally back. He was eight for 11 on deep balls. It looked like last year where he was just like and it was like an extension of a run a 30 yard pass where he would just drop it in the bucket. And he was throwing a guy's like pop dogless and Kyle Williams and Efton Chisholm. Efton Chisholm the third. I was going to say that's too Craig. It's almost like a pretty situation where their play the Patriots are playing with a skeleton crew in this game. They were down to four receivers because AJ Brown and Matt Collins, the two top receivers, they were theoretically are out with injuries. They lost their left tackle. Wilk Campbell in this game. The rookie came in, Caleb Lomo and played well. Kyle Williams had a touchdown. Efton Chisholm had some big plays. I mean, it was and then Henderson. Trivia and Henderson got hurt a lot. A rookie tight end. Eli rared in their throwing. He's good. It was just like he was making chicken salad with chicken shit out there. And it was really, really impressive. Again, it's crazy how different it looks two weeks from how much things can change for him. I think that's a testament to how they've coached him and also just how important confidence is because he's clearly got his confidence back. And now you look at the patch schedule.
is not that hard again this year and may getting his mojo back a little bit. The next five weeks did the pat's play the jets, the bears, the dolphins, packers and lions like hyphids rest the way for the next five weeks. May is the top two or three quarterback in fantasy, right? Yeah, he has to be. Yeah, it's crazy, man. How much this lead can change perception wise over that we had him as a bilo. We thought he was like completely broken. He's in the bird book. Yeah. Yeah, it's great. I mean, maybe that's what fixed him. He usually is. Drake, man, should thank us really. He's fixed. It's to just give up all hope. It's usually when they get better, but he was outstanding. I mean, like, the raiders were borderline. Like, I don't even really remember what it was like to watch the raiders play today. It just felt like every time I checked in the past, just had the ball. Here's the mark. Here's the difference, though. I will not entertain the idea that like nothing was wrong because the fact that Mike for right for able said at a press conference might quote my concern level for this team is very high right now. He said that shit week three. You know what I mean? Like, like, he was like, we're gonna stop choking the life out of every play in week three. And like, that's really what happened is like Drake may stop trying to choke the life out of every play. And he's like, he stopped thinking. He was thinking too much. And they caught it before they had to use the Y word with Yips 26 of 34 today. It's one play at a time. I feel like with this thing with this type of stuff where it's all mental and it's like you complete one pass and then you complete another and then you complete another and then it's three in a row and then you're feeling better and then you hit a deep ball and then before you know it, you have your confidence back. I do feel like that was most of what was the issue here. And now AJ Brown eligible to come back next week. He's out of the boot. They said he looks pretty good. Maybe he'll miss one more week, but I think AJ Brown is going to be back soon. All took was to sacrifice the red the red socks died so the drink may could live. That's really what happened here. Um, just like the Yankees died so that James Winston could tie. Uh, right. Yeah, fucking Yankees suck. The ringer fantasy football show is brought to you by Fandals. Fandals now available everywhere. You didn't think it was going to be, but he is. Jalen Warren on the Pittsburgh Steelers, Steelers beat the Colts today, 34/22. Kind of a really fun Steelers offensive performance today. Jalen Warren, the number two running back on the day in fantasy 34 fantasy points started us off with an 80 yard touchdown catch to kind of get your beak wet. And then he went on to do a hundred 180 yards, two touchdowns. He became just the six player in NFL history. And the first person since Herschel Walker in 1986 with an 80 yard touchdown catch and a 50 yard touchdown run in the same game. Wow. He is like the most reliable player in the Steelers. Last three weeks since Rico Dotto went down. He's been fantastic. He's the number seven running back on the season. And I got to say, most guys like him should be in a in a split backfield. I don't want him to be and I don't think he should be. Like when Rico Dotto comes back, I don't think they should split time. Jalen Warren is really good. I think he's. He can't strengthen. He does. Like I was going to make a Derek Henry comp where I'm like, weirdly, despite his small stature, he gets better as the game goes on. He's really hard to bring down. He's clutch. Like I think he's a really great player. And I don't want Rico Dotto just getting 12 useless carries because they don't want to overwork Jalen Warren. I completely agree. He has the size to be on the field for all three downs. Like he can run between the tackles. He has all the receiving ability. Obviously, but I agree. I don't think because the reality is anything doubtal brings between the tackles theoretically that's better than Jalen Warren. I think what you lose in the actual dynamic ability of the Pittsburgh passing game is like huge because the reality is still running out of people already. I mean, like every team, but Michael Pittman's on injury reserve, not that he ever really made an impact, but I think Ben Scorronic got hurt today, which may not mean anything to you, but mean something to Aaron Rogers. Roman Wilson got hurt today. So it's like, okay, it's DK Metcalf, Jeremy Bernard, Friar Mooth, Thornow Washington, Jalen Warren and Jalen Warren's probably the frankly number one in the pecking order for who Rogers trust with the game on the line. So it's like, why would you take that guy off the fucking field? I agree. He's more than Kenny Gadewell too. Like Kenny Gadewell obviously is a legend and the Lions game is amazing. But Jalen Warren's a better rusher between the tackles. More dynamic player. Yeah. When when was the last time? I'm trying to think because he reminds me a little bit of Austin Eccler in the sense that I think, yeah, Eccler was an undrafted Friagent, wasn't he? Yeah. Yeah. And Warren, I'm just looking down the list of players right now in terms of the highest scoring running backs. And Warren's got to be one of the only, maybe two or three guys that are undrafted Friagents that are actually scoring a big fantasy point, certainly not this year, but it's very rare to see what he's doing. Obviously, he's a veteran at this point, but extremely impressive that he's done all this and he was undrafted Friagent. You know, he really reminds me of like today, and I've never thought of this before today, is he honestly who's less Kenny Gadewell and he really was more like Aaron Jones. Look, he looks like Aaron Jones was really good. Yeah. Yeah. And he kind of he's kind of big passage. He can like streak down the sideline like Aaron Jones good. He can really do anything all over the field. Yeah. Like Jim Warren, he's kind of in the Parker Washington bucket where because he was never really considered as any kind of highfalutin draft prospect, you're like really, there's always like a ceiling on what you're willing to compare them to, but I'm like, if Jalen Warren was a freaking second and a pick, we'd be freaking out about him, right? We've been Sean Judkins did what Jalen Warren did today. We'd be fucking sad. He did another one of these places that Jalen Warren did where he just made a tough looking catch look incredibly easy, so smooth. The way he catches it immediately turns out feel he has a he has a it's like a gyroscopic feel and balance. Yeah. And the way that he moves around and like finds these rushing lanes and it's so funny because I this is just like picking on Justice Hill, but I had this thought watching like Jalen Warren compared to Justice's Hill. Justice Hill, he's exposed to everything, but he is so out of control at all times. You can barely run without falling down. I swear to God, it's just he there was one swing pass in the game where he awkwardly turned like catch it. Then he it took him like three steps. He dropped it like through the ball out of bounds and he fell down. I'm like, what are you doing out here? Like just catch the ball and run. And when Jalen Warren does it, I'm just like, man, he makes it look so easy. And there's a lot of guys that just man, it just make it look so difficult, but he's so smooth, so impressive. And he's tough as hell. I just love everything about him. It's a problem. I think Craig, you're totally right though. He gets better as the more volume he gets. It's like he gets stronger as the game goes along. My problem is Jumir Gibbs. Jumir Gibbs was a problem too. He's pretty good. I, uh, everyone knows he's good, but I don't want to let this pass without going through how good he's been. Jumir Gibbs, it lines destroyed the Cardinals today. The Alliance 145 to 21 games never close. Games is just automatic. Having them in fantasy is just a gift. 25 carries 150 yards to touchdowns. Also five catches 56 yards. So 200 yards of discrimination to touchdowns. Jumir Gibbs has nine touchdowns in five games, past Barry Sanders for most touchdowns before turning 25. Number one, running back on the week, but the number one running back on the air. But the thing I want to mention is that Jumir Gibbs is 140 fantasy points in five weeks, which is 28 points per game, 28, which is the fourth best mark in the, it's since 2000. And the only people ahead of them through five weeks, it's priest home's in 2002, which is the year he broke the touchdown record. Christian McCaffrey in 2019, Marshall Falk in 2000, which is also when he broke the touchdown record. And then the fourth most is Jumir Gibbs this season. I just did the math. He's on, he's on pace for 450, or 449 touches this year. He's averaging 26 touches a game. It's, it's incredible how they're using him. He was just, he's the, it's a perfect example of why some people maybe don't like snake drafts, where if you don't get the first or second pick, you're fucked because it's like, if you have Jumir Gibbs, you're probably doing really well this year. And he's worth every dollar in an auction league. I mean, he's just been incredible. He's had three games with more than 30 fantasy points already. That would be a good season if you had three games with 30 fantasy points. He's done it in five. I saw she, she'll tweeted this, the, the Lions, according to EPA for playup, the best offense in the NFL. You wouldn't know it because their defense is so bad, but their offense is unstoppable. They're the perfect fantasy team of the year. I mean, you want everybody involved. Yeah. Tika, who's your problem? You guys, Christian Watson is a problem. You guys were absolutely right about this. You guys both loved him coming into the drafts this year. I was a little hesitant because I was worried about the injury thing, but like, man, he is.
He's been one of the most, he's been one of the best value picks period in fantasy football. He's the number two receiver only behind Jackson's with a jig based average of 19 points a game. It's time for the league lead with six touchdowns. He went absolutely nuclear today. He had six catches, 143 yards and two scores. I swear every, he had 29 fantasy points. I think every time I looked up, because you're watching like eight games in the early slate, every time I looked at the Packers game, Jordan Love was just chucking it as far as he could. They're playing three flies out, it was all a game. It was like incredible and they were kicking the Bears ass too. They were totally pouring it on as the game went along. It was like the Mat LaFlaur like fuck you Ben Johnson game. So that was, that was real though. There's a good stat on this. I ESPN had this stat, Jordan Love had five completions that traveled 30 yards in the air, which tied Ben Rothisberger as the only player to do that in a game since 2006. Really? He had as many like he had more fire and Rodgers never had a hit what? I think three different completions in this game that traveled 40 or four different, four completions that went 40 yards in a game. Aaron Rodgers never did that in his entire career. Wow. Well, that's how it felt. That's definitely how it felt. I love the way the Packers, they have, I don't know, it's a certain genus a qua the way they run their play action, where as soon as they snap the ball and he kind of does like a little half for a lot, I'm like, oh, this can be a big play. The feeling where you're just like, oh, yeah, this is going to be something good. You know when like an outfielder, like a fly ball is hit and he kind of, he, he tracks the ball and then he kind of backs up so that right when he catches it, he can like co-hop and chuck it to third. Yeah. That's kind of what Jordan loved as after a play action where you're like, oh, he's crow hopping and watching. This is good. Well, also, I will say between Christian Watson and Matthew Golden, the Packers are sneaky high on now, Bill has this great fake metric that is very important, which is when a player shoots a three, how confident are you that the ball is going in, which is unquantifiable, but a really good signal of how a player is playing in the Packers right now. When Jordan love throws the ball deep out of frame and like the camera pans, I am so confident that that ball is going to be completed downfield. I just expect someone to be wide open, wide open, the way that they design, they leak out their tight ends, like Tucker Kraft had a big play today. They have two really good, deep receivers. I think this is the first, the strongest I felt about like when they're going to load up to throw a play action pass, since like Russell Wilson, peak era where as soon as Russell Wilson would roll out, I'm like, oh, this is a touchdown. And so, you know what I mean? Like you can just tell before he does it. I'm like, oh, yeah. I'll still the court of exams, give you time to lock it for 60. I had this for, I mean, the Packers are so back. That's really what this is, too, like the Packers are so, the Packers, it was so over for Green Bay. It was so over. The Falcons had the two worst offensive performances of the season came to third Thursday of football, destroyed the Green Bay, Green Bay looked horrible. The offensive line was a mess. They couldn't run the ball. They couldn't stop the run. Everything was a disaster. And then the Bears came in and Ben Johnson made everything personal. And the Packers fucking destroyed them. The Packers won 31 to seven today. And it felt that bad. They made Ben Johnson bench Tyson Beijing, because he threw two picks. They bear his case kingdom, they didn't, you know, they ran the ball. It wasn't that bad, like 70 yards, but it felt like it was 270, it felt like, you know what? Marshall and Lloyd trucked a guy for a touchdown. And I think that's more important than any of the stats because it was like, for the first time, the entire year, I was like, oh, he could, maybe he's good. I do. Yeah. Yeah. It felt like that should have been worth like a hundred yards and it's a, but really truck stick. It was like, it was a brutal run. It was like a Derek Henry level. You're right. It was a career reviving run for Marshall, but Matthew Golden had a career high in yards. He had 123 yards. And yeah, Christian one. So yeah, the Bears, the Packers are back. They needed to stomp the Bears. You do now. Packers are three and two Sunday night next week, Cowboys Packers, it's going to be just a fire. Part two. That was the, that was, that game was also a tie. Last year, I can't remember that because probably we were in Dublin, it's probably so boring. Oh, is that right? We were in Dublin. Oh, yeah. That's right. Good time. Can I, can I throw a hot take out there? This game was actually good for the Bears. It's good. They lost. It's good that their offense looked terrible. It's good that Baygent got benched and that case keyed him promptly through a pick. All this is good because now people will shut the fuck up about the offense running better without Caleb Williams. Who is, who was saying that real people into it? No one's fucking saying that. Oh, it's being said. Who? Who? Ten weird people on Twitter. That's not a real, that's not real life. No one in real life thinks that Caleb, the offense is better with Tyson Bay. I disagree, but that's fine. I think it's a real thing. He's a boss run by Tyson Baygent's father. Well, I'm just saying it's out there. And that's good for the Bears because now they don't, now that, that's dead. Do you think Case Keenan was a little bummed when he had to go in? He's like, no. Definitely. My last game was pro. I didn't know. I don't know. No, that'll be the last throw of my career. Damn it. It's like shit. No, I totally agree. Craig, we're so, you know, we're not, we're so over. It's so over. We're so back. Look, we, I've already said it's over for the Chargers, right? We, we basically already agreed it was over for the Chargers. I now think it is so over for Jim Harbaugh, like I think it's just over. This game, dude, I could talk about this game for 30 minutes if we really wanted to. They lost to the Broncos 23 17. They were up 17 to 10 in this game and they blew it. One particular play where they're up 17 to 10 and it's fourth and one with on their own 40 with 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter and they decide to go for it. They can't, they can't get a first down to save their life and they decide on their, in their own territory. Well, winning the game, they're going to go for it. Yeah. It's the most inexplainable decision. Bonics. Was that the one where Herbert, Herbert's in shotgun and then walked up and did a sneak like that was a surprise? Yeah. Also, like, why don't we push him? Everybody touch, but why would you not? Oh, my God. But Mary and Hampton has, at least put him to good use, have him at least push Justin Herbert. I would probably be the best he can do. He's got the biggest thighs I've ever seen. He can push, push Justin Herbert, Bonics is having like the worst game of his career. He had 120 yards today, he's like, all these stats about how bad Bonics was. You're not going to punt to him. They were one for, the Broncos, thank God for Jim Harbob because Sean Payton will be getting killed today. Sean Payton, the Broncos looked worse than they ever have. They were one for 12 on third downs today, worst of the season. Jim Harbob decides to go for it and not punt. Well, I know. Imagine. Can you imagine how much better the Broncos will be when Sean Payton takes back the play, calling from David's web? Oh, God. The charges outgained Denver in this game and they lost. It's Craig, Craig's disbelief. Over the charges every week is just tickle. Well, everyone's to blame because like McDonald's is still a mess. Herbert's Interception at the end of the game was once again, every week he throws the worst interception I've ever seen, it's like his eyes. It's like he's Vince Vaughn at the end of Dodgeball out there. I don't know how he's making these throws. He's a different person now, Justin Herbert. Let's sleepy Jim. It's sleepy Jim. The presser. Oh, my God. I mean, can you play the audio? Can we have it? Yeah, I pulled it, yeah. When you're all in five, what is the message that that works, you know, that kind of gets through, or is there one? Uh, yeah, I don't know what that message is the, um, it's just in the, yeah, the players that just fight their hearts out. If you close your eyes, that seriously sounds like Biden, look, we finally, we finally beat Medicare. What? Let's get him off the page. The long, the longest pauses, it's, it's an eternity. I can't handle it. Ever since DK said that George Clooney said we need a new candidate. We need to do nominee. We need to do coach. Look, I love Jim Harba. I do too. We need to do coach. I don't look. I'm not having fun. He's great. Jim Harba is awesome. Yeah. It's like the team. I mean, they lead the league in turnovers. They are second and offensive penalties. They've taken the second most sacks. They're third to last in yards. I don't like what. And then it's a mess. It's a mess from the time. And then Harba's like, I don't know. I'm sorry. I wanted to hear it again. I think it's so, it's. Close your eyes. Yeah. It's a presidential debate message that that works, you know, that kind of gets through. Or is there one that I don't know the message is is it's just like it's it's over. It's over. It's over. I don't know. I like you can also say like they for the charger started for rookies today on the offensive line. Three of them were making their first career start in the same game, which hasn't happened in 50 years. So it's like, it's just a disaster across the board. Herbert looks miserable. I feel like usually Herbert is stoic. Now he's starting to actually look upset. Hmm. Lied McCunkey was active in this game, despite like how injured are you where you have a player who's hurt just be active. I know. There's no other option. We've been doing this. haven't seen something like that in a minute. We're like this guy. Yeah, he's a fan of fantasy.
he blurb was like he's active, but you he's not going to play. Yeah, don't play him. They just I don't have other players. Do you train there? It's not hurt. And I'm like, can I go and go in? No, no, we're just out of there. They're out of warm bodies. They just don't have any left. Dude, my interest of thought was that I think that charges are going to go in 17. I mean, they have a very hard. Well, they play the dolphins. So maybe they'll win that game. But I'm like, I don't know. I think the dolphins are better. I do. They play more competitively. The dolphins are kind of like, yeah, exactly. They're competitive on five team. Yeah, those charged. There are shenanigans are she and her Mike McDaniel and Jim Harba. I think are my are going to go. Oh, it's 17 and at the funniest thing in the world would be the chargers get the second pick in the draft. Take Jeremiah Smith and then we talk ourselves into the chargers. Next. Let me make it. Let me make it very clear. If the charges draft Jeremiah Smith, I'm all the way back in. Jeremiah Smith is can we make a pact? Can we make a pact right now? No. Yes. I don't want to. I don't give a fuck about what's gone on with Marvin Harrison Jr. Jeremiah Smith is one of the five best receiver prospects of I have ever seen with my own eyes in my entire life. He is literally a hall of fame, level prospect. There's no chance that he's not going to be in an awful play or zero. I don't care what happened, Marvin Harrison. Okay, I can get on board. Imagine him with Herbert. Oh, dude, Herbert and McDaniel. Think about it. Mike McDaniel and Herbert together. We should do that. That should be our bit. That should be our bit next year as we just pretend this year never happened. No, it is our bit every year. We do this every year. We've already done it. What are you talking about? It's like they'll changing at the leaves. I'll be back in three weeks when they look good against the judge. That is the good question. How many quarters in a row? How many drives in a row do the charges have to play really well until you're like, I think this is going to work for what? Yeah, what is with this team? Good scoring drives in a row. I'll maybe be back. Speaking of Marvin Harrison, though, that one's over too. Oh, yeah, it's over. It's so over for Marvin Harrison, Jr. in Arizona because a little bit of news that happened right after the game ended, right after the section, the situation around the news. Yeah, was very speaking of like reports that we've never seen before. A couple of different reporters reported this morning or yesterday, I can't remember what I was that Marvin Harrison was traded. However, we're not going to tell you the team he's traded to. And we might not for a week or so. So we're finalizing. I thought was so funny. They're, they're finalizing a trade. It's not, they don't know to which team. I'm like, so it's not being finalized. They're just calling teams. Mm hmm. And then right after the Texans beat the Titans, they, they spank them. The head coach, Demiko Ryan's comes out and says, yes, we've traded for Marvin Harrison. So I guess the cat's out of the bag. So anyway, Marvin Harrison, Jr. is now a Texan, which is kind of strange in a lot of ways. But it does make sense because he's reunited with CJ Stroud his college quarterback. They did have an electric year together in college. Harrison had 1200 yards and 14 touchdowns, catching passes from CJ Stroud. Stroud was apparently a big part of the trade process, vouching for Harrison's work ethic, which is a big thing because Harrison completely gave up in Arizona. The effort was quite literally atrocious. It was appalling to watch some of his routes. So if he didn't get, if Marvin Harrison, Jr. knew he was not going to get the ball, he just jogged. Yeah. And he wouldn't block either when he was being asked to block, which is, you know, just, I just, I don't know. There was a lot of issues. There was some, there was something but outside of blaming the Cardinals being some trash organization or whatever. Frankly, maybe I'm just projecting to which I know, but the way Marvin Harrison was reacting, it was hard not to look at him be like, is this just like an entitled devil, baby? Like, I'm sorry. It was actually crazy. I want competitive moments and competitive games where Marvin Harrison Jr. just didn't give a fuck. Yeah. Um, so yeah, that it was a second round pick in 27, which is way more than I would have expected for a guy like Harrison, the way that he's played. I would say Monty Austin for good job getting that much for him, honestly. Yeah. What did you, did you think that it's like to, do you think what, what it's more likely to decay in three years, you're like, that's an absolute steal from Marvin Harrison Jr. Or it's kind of shocking the Cardinals even recouped that much value. Uh, Texans were own four like that could have been like the 34th pick in the draft. That's pretty high for Marvin. So like, is anyone think he's a top 30 wide receiver in the league? I mean, that's, I think a steep. He has to be a completely different player. The history of former top five picks. I, this was a graphic that was shown during the game. Top five picks traded within their first three seasons since 67, Tray Lance, Trent Richardson, Aaron Curry gains Adams and then you go back into the 80s and 70s and 60s, where it's been 40 years since this work for the team. They got the player. Right. And so like, basically, most, if not all of these were abject failures after leaving their original team. The reason they were top five picks and traded was because they were not good at football. So the old one of these that really worked was like a modern shot. Right. Who ended up making four. I think Trent Richardson, after he was traded, we had one year where he did something, but I can't, he had a month, you know, he seems already traded. They did the DeAndre Hopkins trade. Cardinals in Houston, right? Five years ago, whatever. Yeah, I think those were different, those were different from front offices, but they did make the trade. Yeah. But the, the, the, the, whenever a trade like this happens, it does remind me. And again, there's a whole thing. Marvin Anderson Jr. wanted it. He made it sound like the Cardinals wouldn't buy him a joke's machine. It was disingenuous. He wanted some $50,000 seeker machine. And it's weird because in one hand, just buy him it. Like, who cares? Like, it's a, it's a quarterback thing. But he also had an NIL deal with this company. And I'm like, I don't really know. So he'd abide himself and he was mad about it. That was the thing that came out of middle of this. But overall, like, my friend described survivor to me this way, which I don't really watch a ton of it. But like, I watched a season with my friends and they were like, if there's ever a vibe toward a player and survivor, you don't, that you don't get what's going on. Like, you're seeing an hour, but everyone is also spending 23 hours a day that you don't see together. And so like, you just got to trust how much time they spent together. The Cardinals saw Marvin Anderson Jr. every fucking day for three years. And we're like, a second done. Yeah. So the odds, I'd say of it working are low. But I do like that. He's reunited with his quarterback from college. I think there's a, there's a theory that he could be a lot better in a different system where he's being used on crossers and digs and things, you know, that maybe strut is more comfortable throwing than, you know, he's been mainly doing in Arizona or maybe, you know, there's also kind of the thought that like they had him shoehorned into one role in Arizona and maybe not the best role for him. So I don't know. There's a chance that this works out. But for sure, I mean, look, look, the same way I don't want to give up on quarterbacks. I don't want to give up on Marvin. You're like, this quarterbacks were Kyler Murray and Jacobi Berset. That's quite those are two ends of the spectrum. Right. Right. So it could work. So we'll see the Texans are kind of have a weird strategy lately where they just keep trading for receivers and as their running game gets worse and worse. So maybe they should just spread out and just give up the idea of being balanced and, you know, the funny thing is, should they have just like gotten camjergans, they gave me both one for a second who's going to help them more. You can make the argument. Probably not, but it's just funny to think about. Uh, anyway, do you have any there? It's so over. We're so back. It's so over for every poor bastard quarterback that has to play the Viking's defense this year. You guys, the Vikings are putting quarterbacks in absolute hell. Uh, they beat the Saints today, dominated defensively. And, uh, Tyler shut came into the season or sorry, came into this game as the quarterback five. Tyler shut had negative points in fantasy today. What was the score? Let's see here. Hold on. Sorry. I didn't have a 20, 20, 23 to 13. It was worse than it sounded though, because the Saints touchdown came from the defense, just picked up a fumble and ran eight yards from touchdown. Right. So Tyler shut today, 16 to 25, 96 yards, two picks, negative points, man, negative points in fantasy. Part of 10 on third down, 3.3 yards per attempt. And again, it's just the Vikings are pressuring and blitzing like crazy. They had a 65% blitz rate today. Uh, on the year, their blitz rate is 67%. They are, the Vikings on the year first and points allowed first and blitz rate 67% first and pressure rate, first in defensive success rate, first knee, paper, dropback defensively, first and opponent, third down conversion rate. They are just putting guys in absolute hell. And I saw this stat, opposing quarterbacks are averaging six fantasy points per game passing, fantasy passing points per game. And they have to, uh, Daniel Jones next week, by the way. So that's going to be, uh, very fun. I also thought on top of that, like, I actually thought Kyler Murray looked way better this week, not like amazing or anything. And like you start, I mean, one, just completing the ball, like, you know, he started 11 for 11. It was kind of fake. But he ran and was more mobile than he'd been at any point this season is a Viking. I, you know, obviously, a heart like immediately into the season. I thought this was the first week that he actually just looked like the Kyler Murray, we thought of like, at the very least, he's going to be like really dangerous as runner. And just that element being back, - I thought it was good, but he doesn't need to do much. Like the-- - He can't.
defense is unbelievable. - How many quarterbacks would you start despite them playing Minnesota in fantasy? Is it like five guys or is it-- - We're about to be tested with that. So I misspoke, they actually have a buy coming up and then after that, they have the Colts. I would not start day of Jones. I don't think I'm breaking any-- - I would start Jared Goff the week after. - Not breaking any news. But yes, the next four quarterbacks after that are Jared Goff, Josh Allen, Jordan Love, Brock Purtey. - Yeah. - It's gonna be hard. I feel like you have to start those guys, especially Josh Allen, obviously. Goff is maybe a little marginal. Love is maybe marginal, I would start Purtey. - Oh, wait, yeah. Goff is number three quarterback in fantasy right now. But yeah, it's like Goff is-- - You probably have to start those guys. - Goff is the, so Brian Flores is a woodchipper for any quarterback below the processing line. Basically, he's just a great lit mistest for whether you're a real adult NFL quarterback to can sit that back in third and seventh or whatever, because he's basically like, here's all this shit you have to look at. Can you actually figure out what's going on? And a quarterback like Matt Stafford at times is able to shred him. Like, I think it's smarter quarterbacks, Matt Stafford. - Daphne. - You can deal with the blitz. - Yes, guys, you can deal with the blitz. You know all the answers and everything. But it's kind of like, honestly the, you know what it's like? It's like the third Harry Potter that the fucking, the boggirt or whatever comes out or the dementors come out. And it's like, if the quarterbacks were really good that can cast a patronus, the dementors can't really do anything. But if you can't, your soul gets sucked out of your fucking mouth. And that's what happens to Tyler Schuck and all these bad quarterbacks. Is their soul gets sucked out of them. But Matt Stafford and all these guys can rock 'em. So I mean, I honestly think the answer is Josh Allen. Borough. Dach. Man, I guess Caleb, just because I mean, yeah, my homes, Caleb, they had a field goal versus him. It was in the rain, but still, like that should say something. So that, it's a very short list. I mean, they're the easily the best defense of the NFLs. I mean, close. And look, the last two weeks, Malik Willis and Tyler Schuck have combined for 2.3 fantasy points. (laughs) The last two weeks. I mean, obviously, that kind of just goes to what you were saying, Hyves. I think Schuck has been good. I don't know if he's a high level processor yet. Malik Willis, same deal. I think he has some potential, not a high level processor. But yeah, I mean, they absolutely just shut those guys down. It's fun. Like, Andrew Van Ginkle and Josh Mattelis, they just have these versatile. They're able to do this thing that sounds good, but other people can't do, which is, what if you have these guys play all over? And it's, you know, and just like, you never know what they're doing. But if you don't really know what you're doing is the defensive coordinator. You end up with the worst of every situation, instead of the best. And like, if you're Mike McDonald, the CEO, I'll see what the Vikings are doing this year, which is like, Andrew Van Ginkle is in coverage as much as he's blitzing, as much as he's in pass coverage, or like, just, like, metallic. Like, they're all over the fucking field. It's really, like, it's cool. You really just never know what's going to happen. Okay, anyone else? I will just say we're so back. I just want to quit. The Giants and James Winston and James Winston passing inflation is back. - I know, that was, yeah. That was good to see. - Everyone's going nuts, likely neighbors. James is just, I, it's like, you know, it's like we're not here for a long time. We're here for a good time. That's dangerous. - Exactly. - That was really what, like, the 80s were like, we're everyone was just doing coke. And they're like, I know it's bad for me, but we're having a fucking blast. - Yeah. - Exactly. - It's better than being boring and bad. - Yeah. So, you know what? We're gonna have a great night. Let's not worry about tomorrow. - Is they likely 94 yards to touch on the number one tight end by a ton? Are you 27 points? No, they're turning ahead. - He looks like a different player in New York. I don't know if it's the Jersey or what? He just looks completely different to me. - It's not split in time with Mark. - Right, right, right. Yeah. Honestly, he's the second best player. - Likely is Kenneth Walker at tight end. They're finally letting him play a lot. Imagine that. - He's always, and look what he's doing. - And look what he's doing. - He's a could never. - He's been this good for five years. Malik neighbors also had 11 catches. 20 targets, 121 yards of touchdown. - Change. - And he should have had another 40 yard touchdown. - 20 targets is so good. - He really, neighbors really should have had 160 and two touchdowns. 20 targets for neighbors. - So I like to see. - So, and giants are back, baby. - Time now from a very, very serious, very important segment. America's favorite segment. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - This is serious. - Far, we're shot. - DK, cam scataboo. No gloves cam. Bear hand scatty. Last week's seven points, this week's six points. I feel like week one with Dart, scataboo looked like something. You know, he had a touchdown, looked electric. We were talking about how he tries harder than anyone in the league. Since Dart went down, scataboo does not have a touchdown. He's the RB26 on the season. Is there enough juice left with cam scataboo? Is he a guy you should still be starting? Start or fart or shart? Perhaps is the question for cam scataboo? Where are you at? Is this a fart or shart? Kind of like the post-dart era of cam scataboo. - Mm. - Try to ignore your priors here, 'cause I know your thoughts. - I know, I am trying to. Here's the deal. I think it's more of a shart than a fart because he's not catching any passes is the problem. I'm just looking at his numbers now. He has 10 catches on the year. - Now I would like to-- - Is that right? He has 10 catches in five games. - That's correct. When you say shart, that means like on an average week, you don't think you should start cam scataboo. - No, I mean more just like I don't know if it's going to change. I think he's a borderline starter. You could still put him in your lineup. I don't think he's going to be whatever one was excited for him to be before the year. If that makes any sense. So whatever that is, shart or fart, I think it's, I don't think it's going to change much because they're not getting him involved. It's basically like the Jamest Coral area where he's too busy fucking chucking it down the field. And he doesn't look for cam scataboo as a dump off option. And also he just scataboo, I'm sorry, I haven't looked that great to me. I don't know if there's, if he's like begging him. - Well, maybe he just don't know what great is this. - I'm just begging him. I'm begging him to be better than Ash's genty following. - I love him so much, I don't even care that the giant should have lost solely because he fumbled today. Well, I just weren't losin' the rain. And I, do I think John Harbor will hold the fumble against him? Absolutely. We saw what happened with what's his face? Tyrone Trace? - Tyrone Trace? Yeah, he's like at the bottom of the Hudson River. But I relegated to special teams. - Naji Harris, I also fumbled. And I think the coaches will just ignore that that ever happened. I think for whatever reason I, as much as I love scataboo and I think scataboo should actually be on the field like 85% of the time. - I agree. - I think that Naji Harris is like somehow destined to become the starting running back for this time. - I would buy love on scataboo, I still believe. - I love scataboo. - Do you think he's gonna be more involved in the passing game as we go along? - Yeah. - You think he's a fart, not a shark? - I think he's a short-term shark that'll then become fine. Like he'll change. I am worried that Harbon will hold the fumble against him. I really am. But I think scataboo's better. I am really frustrated by the insistence on making Naji Harris like a part of this offense. And it's solely because Greg Roman doesn't wanna teach other people how to run whatever the fuck Greg Roman wants to run in the running game. And they just trust them to block into other shit. But I'm like, man, I just can't believe they couldn't find someone else to do that. Now I just, I'm so uninspired by every time Naji Harris touches the ball. - Any other guys, a fart or a shark here? - I'm gonna turn this around on you guys. Fart or a shark, Jeremiah Love of the Cardinals. - Of the Cardinals. - Cardinals. - What the fuck was that? - Cardinals. - I don't know, I made it into three Cardinals. The Cardinals. - Set the scene here. What am I looking at? - Okay, look, he got sound bitten. This week soundbited when he basically said this is gonna be the longest year of my life. - DK, I love that. - Soundbitten is amazing. - You just, it's like, it is, it can ruin a guy. Because people were talking about him saying it's gonna be the longest year of his life. - That's good. - I think if I'm trying to get into his-- - If I'm trying to get into his-- - It's almost viral, you get soundbitten, that's so good. You didn't even know it, you tripped and fell into that. - It's like I'm scataboo. - You don't know great, just when you see it. Wow, you really don't. - Mark Zuckerberg once said about Twitter, he was like a clown car that drove into a gold mine. (laughing) - That's okay, you don't have to get me in. - Soundbitten. - Anyways, what I was gonna say about that was, I feel like if I'm getting into his head, I think what he meant by that was quite literally, I'm going to be playing more games than I've ever played in my life. It's gonna be the longest year of my life, the longest season of my life. - I'm literally-- - I have to, I have to manage my body and they have to do a good job of managing the workload that they're gonna give me. Basically, it got soundbitten into God, this fucking sucks, I hate it here, I'm gonna be the longest year of my life, I just can't wait for it to be over. Like I think that's kind of how people took it. - He's like the literal doctor from a resident. (laughing) - I'm just gonna be the longest year of your life. - He's like, no, it just started in July, it ends in January. - That was how I interpreted it. Anyway, he was kind of like talking about managing his body and everything, anyway. But that being said, 12 rushes for 22 yards today, for Jeremiah Love, one target, zero yards in the past weekend. - It's just another example of like, because he can catch passes, people assume that as a rookie, he will be the past protector. And Mike little baby Laflare is like, no, he's not. - Yeah, and that's a huge problem, 'cause they're always losing. - He also has, and this was supposed to be the, you know, the rainbow strip game against the Lions, Lions defense has been horrible.
This is supposed to be a game where both teams are putting up big numbers and, you know, Jacobi percent dropped back and passed or he dropped back 47 times 47 attempts on the day. They're passing their they're averaging more past attempts this year than they did last year, which is unbelievable. That's the coast. Yeah, it's a chair. My love really should get the it's a good nominee for coast and leveling cook chair for Jacobi percent 47 passes. I bet you're in my love caught one. No. No, we're not. And it was like a bit it's this happens all every frickin year where you're like, oh, don't think of him as a running back. Think of him as an offensive weapon. That's why you're taking him in the top five because he's such a great pass catch like no. You got to actually give him passes if that's going to play out the way that you've kind of like presented it to us. And I feel like Jeremiah love he's just not being utilized in the past game nearly enough. It's a cancer attitude issue to present bracelet and and James similar playing styles in the sense that they want to push the ball down the field. They're looking to their first and second reads rather than dumping it off. And I think that's really affected love. So my question is like, is this going to get better? We're not even dealing only with the injury situation, which he's been hurt the whole year basically. Now we're like, is he going to just get gamescripted out of every game? I would lean towards short rather than fart. I could also see this as a situation where it's like week 13 and they like shut him down for the year. We're like, he tweaks the ankle and they're like, we're one in 12. We don't need to do this. Yeah, there's no incentive to just give him the ball over and over and he's got the ankle thing. Yeah, I don't know. Have you disagree? No, I don't. I think you get a share of my love could end up being a by low because I think that at some point, like down the road, it wouldn't be shocking to see him being pretty good. But I agree. I said we didn't want Cardinals outside of Trey McBride and I don't regret it. What about Michael Wilson now? Do you think he's going to? I mean, can you believe we didn't fucking stick to that thing we said we do, which is we drank Michael Rick Wilson three rounds ahead of Marvin Harris. We were low. I did rank Michael Wilson ahead of Marvin Harrison. We did rank him ahead, but we said it'd be like by 30 spots and we fucking cowarded it out. We said we'd have Marvin Harris, a junior like outside the top 120 and Michael Wilson would be like 70th and we that was so it was probably the best take we ever had. Is it disconcerting that Michael Wilson got Marvin Harrison today? Is it like shining how it's like whoever the wide receiver one is in Arizona, just they completely ignore them. They're ready. They're doing cardio out there. Yeah, I don't know. Definitely. I mean, he's going to get like 15 targets again. Agreed. I wonder if the entire legacy of this show will just be the decay invented sound bitten. Oh, I love the sound bit. Sound bit. The other person that sound bit was Luther Burton who said that he was going to make the packers quit. And then they lost 31 to seven inside of Franklin was like, you know who quit Luther Burton. What was the whole what was the whole quote? Oh, you got guys that never really made a real play in this league talking about making somebody quit. Oh, I love that. That's good. Who is this fucking guy? I'm turning his that's turned it as dirty around to see who he is. You'd be honest when the Luther Burton clip kind of in a Jeremiah love sense. It wasn't like a literal doctor thing, but like I, I think some of these guys just like don't know how to answer these questions and like honestly have no time for them. And they're just like somebody was like, what will it take to beat the packers? And he's like, I don't know you beat him. You beat him so bad that they want to quit. I don't know. Like that was kind of how he said it. He didn't like have just aired. He wasn't like we beat him so bad. They fucking quit. And he was like, I don't know. I guess you got to score so many points that they don't want to play anymore. I think that's why we slowly beat out any interesting thoughts out of players and coaches because eventually we hang on every lot. Yeah. And then in the world. And then because also the other teams see the video like, oh, fuck this guy. I love this. I don't know being like he just love the way he ended it with. He quit today by the way. I just love that. He didn't want to play no more. I just love that. I want that to be known. What was the guy that was talking about John Jennings? He had no Collins. Oh, my God. That was a river. He said, I want that known. I want that known. What were the other better quotes of the day? Oh, this one was funny. This was not from today, but it was making the rounds over the weekend. Jordan Battle of the Bengals told the media before the game about a tell that they had identified for Malik Willis the way he he pats the ball. So basically, Jordan Battle. I don't know what the question was like, how are you going to beat the dolphins or whatever and Jordan battle just goes into their full like telling everyone in the world what this tell is that they figured out. And then he went out and obviously people like don't tell this before the game. You idiot. But then he went out and had two interceptions today. So I guess he made up for that. I think this is the Babe Ruth calling your shot. This was so football quotes. I don't know if I've ever seen anything like this. I've seen players say we have a tell we're going to beat him up whatever he just said it. You're not just for the game said it and then just goes out and has two picks in the first half. You know, hard it is to get two picks and a half. I will say that the tell was that he does a little tap on the ball before every throw so they were saying that they can use that to know he's about to throw the football, which I don't know if that's so much of a tell or just kind of a tendency or whatever, but he got two picks. I watch both of the plays and I don't think Malik Willis tapped the ball on either of them for what it's where he did what? No, I didn't see that. Maybe he did. When I rewatched him, I was like, oh, I don't think that was why that was picked. It was just a bad throw. I'm a pork into those those. Anyway, I thought it was hilarious that he just told everyone to tell don't do that next time, man. You know, that is a real thing is that defensive backs have tells that they like they'll have a little like brotherhood, Umerta and they'll pass around. Yeah, and you're not supposed to tell it until that player's like retired. That's true. And so someone did this once. I forget who Chad Johnson had to tell. Yeah. In some cornerback broken. So Chad Johnson. I mean, a lot of players do this, but you got to keep like someone fucked up George Pickens, which is like a lot of it. You guys only put their mouth guards in if they're getting the ball or gloves. So Chad Chad Johnson, when he was like a Justice gloves or something. Yes. He would tighten his gloves when he was getting the ball. Not even a pass play getting the ball. That's interesting. You can just tell with body language. If you watch my receivers, the way they jog out, you're like, oh, this is a run. Yes, or yeah, exactly. Sometimes they'll just like hear the beginning of the play and lean out, but you're not supposed to tell him and then a defensive cornerback. I forget who told Chad Johnson about it. And then he got kicked out of the fucking corner back. He broke the code. He did. Wow. The other best quote of the day was, you know, you know who delivered Eric Collins announcing for the not surprising whatsoever. Because Lamar Joe Barrow just tossed up this ball. And Eric Collins like, oh, tomorrow chase your fan. I like the good golly. Good golly. Yes, I've been so like I know totally. So so innocent. Good golly. It's it's a treat that Eric Collins got Joe to watch Jamar chase. That's like the perfect. Cause Jamar Chase is the most likely to do some ridiculous thing, which he did. Oh, yeah. That catch was insane. Insane. Perfect combination with Eric Collins. That's like peanut butter chocolate. Those two. If it's give us a doubt, I'll back up from the microphone. Don't. Oh, that's fun. Oh, I love that. I've been just yelling that at what time is it in DC? Don't worry about it. Third quarter. It's one thirty. It's one thirty a.m. Right. It's like twelve or forty. Ornids are down twenty three in the third. I would like to break the fourth wall and talk to the the listener listeners of our podcast for for one tear. When they when they just when you guys you and hyphids and I think Austin was Eric camera. Austin showed us them. We were watching these in a hotel room at the Super Bowl in New Orleans. Those day the draft and Detroit. Oh, okay. Sorry. It was on some work trip close enough. One of our work trips. No, it doesn't just ruin my story. Well, I just. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. What was the date? I need to know. Was it May 1st? Was it April 30th? What was it? Here joke is factually incorrect. So I remember. It's fine. But anyway, I've never seen these chuckleheads laugh harder than when they were watching. They were watched it for a solid 30 to 40 minutes. Just laughing. I swear, I don't think I've ever seen you guys laugh harder. Might be the hardest. I've laughed as an adult like top five. No question. You were losing your minds. I was crying. Like a 10 minute video. It's worth your time every time. Like, if you're like a group of guys and you guys are bored at night and you're like, dude, you put on YouTube videos. You watch fucking South Park or something. Put on Eric Collins too. It'll be worth it. It's so funny. But what? The guts of a cat burglar. That's the one that I always catch with. Oh my god. Just makes me miss Gus, man. All right. He's still alive, by the way. Is he? Worst ref.
- Well, worst coach decision of the day, I wonder what that is. - Well, that's tough, there's two. - It's, come on, it's Washington. - Nick Cereonis, I would defend Cereonis for once. That was just a bad run out, literally, man. - Well, it just depends on how you want it. Like, Cereonis was an actual decision. In theory, we don't know if Dan Quinn's was a decision. - It's true, it was a lack of it. Well, they decided to call a play. Dan Quinn himself was like, that's it. - We don't know what, maybe it was the wrong, maybe Jane ran the wrong thing, all right? - The irony is, the Eagles thing, I almost think if people are being too hard on the Eagles, if frickin' a duel against tackle, five yards earlier, they can't make the field goal. And if it's five yards later, they're out of time. - Yeah, I agree, and kickoff returns are rare, but the second it happened, I was like, they have no timeouts. Why wouldn't you just kick it out of the end? - It's not ideal, but it's not worse than having a minute to kick a field goal and then not doing it. - It's a little bit like, I didn't do kick the field goal. - I can understand what you're saying, Hi Fitz, because on some level, you have to expect your team to execute for like just one play. - Yeah, literally. - And actually just defend the kickoff and tackle the guy, like your coach to do. I remember, 'cause Mike McDonald said this after the C.O.X. loss, where people were asking, why didn't you just run a sneak when the Halani thing happened right before the half? He's like, we just need to be able to execute a run. And I'm like, I kind of get that, you're right. - You should just, you're a professional football player. You should be able to just take a hand off a run. - You have to be okay with 99% like 99% things being happening, you know what I mean? - I don't think there is a good play to run on your own one. I think they're all bad. - Right. - And all of the, every time I see one that screws up, I'm like, that was a bad play, they shouldn't have done that. But I've seen every single type of play go wrong. And I'm like, I actually think they're all bad. It sucks to be on your own one. - This is the new thing now that we've bullied them into going fret and forth down and fourth and one. No one has ever said, I didn't like that call. It's just, I didn't like that play. - Yeah, I didn't like the results. - I didn't like what you call. - I didn't like what the fuck did you want the one? I sometimes people throw, sometimes you try to get a run, sometimes you sneak, I don't know what you do. - Honestly, I'll tell you what I don't, I hate. Which actually the Ravens did today in a work the second time. I hate what the Jaguars do at the goal line. - The Jet Sweep. - The Jet Sweep to Basel Tune, that's what I was going to say. - Chris Rodriguez, the two running backs on the field, they put motion Chris Rodriguez out wide. And they take Zach Bond, the Eagles linebacker out wide. So now it's Zach Bond's at cornerback. And I'm like, that is so smart. Now they can just run up the middle. And you know what they do? - And they run out. - They give Basel Tune to fucking Jet Sweep. And they run right at fucking Zach Bond. And I'm like, why is Chris, Zach Bond tackles him for a loss? - He clogged him. - Why is that Chris Rodriguez blocking Zach Bond in Ireland? And then they're like, you're right, you're right. Next goal and sequence, we try again. And they just put Chris Rodriguez in a wildcat and they fall start. And it happened again with Derek Henry tonight. 'Cause you know what you do? You know what they do when they're wildcat? A running back is doing the cadence. And you know what nobody's used to? The fucking running back doing the cadence. And the offensive lines. - Including the running back. - Yeah. No one's confident, they don't fall start. Even the tight ends, I'm getting sick of. - The header he played was crazy. He, first of all, it was a terrible snap. He barely caught the snap. And then Jose Flier was ran into him. And like, hit him in the face. - The snap was so far left, I think he was just like, well, I guess I gotta run this way now. - Yeah. - And it works. - Wait, oh, the other best quote of the week, which we didn't talk about, but it's kind of like this, where you're like, oh, just do some new cool shit. And you're like, yeah, there's stuff you don't think about. Did you see the Packer Center talk you about Tucker Kraft in the Tishbush? - No. - So obviously the more teams should do the Tishbush, the Eagles have stopped. The Eagles should do the Tishbush. But the, some teams have a tight end do it. So the Seahawks have a tight end. A.J. Barnard does it. The Chiefs have a different player do it. Like some, and the Packer Center was asked about Tucker Kraft doing the Tishbush. And Sean, the Packer Center's answer was, you know, the problem is Titans aren't really used to shove in your hands right in the guys' balls. But the quarterback, you gotta really get right in the nuts. Like right, right into my sack. And the Titans, they're a little squeamish, man. - Right. - No, it's unspoken. The Titans, they just, they just don't want to do it, man. - They're a little squeamish. - Yeah. - They just don't want to get in there. It's like, Shaq, not wanting to shoot free throws granny style. They just don't want to do it. - Exactly, it works. - Exactly. - They don't want to do it. - You know what I mean? So, you know, sometimes stuff, you know? There's a lot to football. It's kind of like when that center was like, yeah, Tom Brady made the buck center. He was like, your ass is too sweaty. - I mean, it's a legit turn. - Yeah. - Anyway, okay. I have a new category called the Trey McBride play of the year that did not matter at all, but it was really cool. - Oh yeah. - Goes to Trey McBride. - McBride, I think, is one of the most stress free players to ever own in fantasy. They throw that guy the ball 15 times a game. He tries his hardest every single play. He's super athletic. He's like hurtling people. He could be down 40. He's doing everything he can to get the first down. He's just the best. I love Trey McBride. - He had a, I don't know what the route was, but he was very closely guarded by Defender, went up in the corner of the end zone. It like bounced off his hands, and then he batted it back to himself and then caught it, it was incredible. And he was in the air the whole time. It was an incredible display of focus and athleticism to do it, just an incredible catch. - He's amazing. - He's the antithesis of Mark Andrews. - Yeah. Fuck yeah, he is. Yeah, wow. - He's bump setting and spiking it to himself. - Just for style points. - You were so right about Mark Andrews. - I'm actually quite sad about the route I was about. - You know what's so funny? So much of our early arguments were, I hated Mark E's brown and you hated Mark Andrews. (laughing) - Yeah, it's tough. - If only we'd listen to each other. - I know. - Other one we have to do the flex category here, Lucille Bluth, I don't understand the stat line and won't respond to it. This one is kind of just like our weed and simulation. So there's this new thing people have, there's new account called QB Gami, which is kind of like score Gami, a score Gami's when there's never been a score before. Sometimes it'll be like 53 to 17. And like, oh, that's never happened. Now they're trying to do a quarterback Gami, which is like, how's this quarterback stat line ever happened before? - It's just yards, touchdowns and interceptions, right? - Yeah. - And when I ever had 234 yards, three touchdowns and two picks. Oh yeah. So quarterback Gami had this thing that Case Keenam had 108 yards with no touchdowns in one pick. - Today, Case Keenam for the Bears, 108 yards, no touchdowns, one pick, which is, which the last time that's happened was last year by J.A.G. McCarthy. - 108 yards is zero touchdowns in a pick. Last year, yeah. - Specific, yeah. Tyson Beijing, his stat line today. - Also, for the Bears, before he was benched, 87 yards, no touchdowns, two picks. Last time that happened was last year by J.A. McCarthy. (laughing) - So you're telling me this game was twice as much J.J. McCarthy as anyone's ever seen. - Two bad J.A. McCarthy, J.A.G. McCarthy won. (laughing) - Which is saying a lot because Hyphids, your giants used J.A.G. McCarthy today. - They're using them like Naji Harris. - What in the hell is happening, dude? - I. (laughing) - Johnny, Johnny. - No, like literally, what is happening? Why are they doing this? (laughing) - They must think he's a different guy. Like there's, I say, who did we trade for? - Yeah. - Dude, I, yeah. I, that being like, yeah, we're gonna run J.A. McCarthy out one. I have no idea. This stat line, the idea that Bage and Keaton both, like the last one time anyone did this separately was J.A.G. McCarthy. They, the odds of this. - Never do a J.A.G. McCarthy. - Yeah. - They try to calculate this. - The game is he played. (laughing) - Oh, he's only played like 12. (laughing) - What are the odds of that? - So the odds of this, I don't know. I will not pretend to understand the math they did to calculate this. But they said that the odds of two quarterbacks on the same team, matching a shared quarterbacks stat lines, in the same game, at these exact numbers, relative to the probability of the whole set, is more or less 1 in 416 million. (laughing) - I believe it, I guess. - Yeah. - That's not important, you know. You never know what you're gonna get with that. - He was meditating under the goalposts in the rain. - You guys sent the picture of the pregame fucking back. - He's sitting in the pouring rain in a cotton sweatshirt just meditating before the game. - Dude, he better, here's the thing. I can't tell if I hate meditating. - Part of me, I can't tell if I hate it 'cause I'm jealous and I kind of want to, I kind of want to be a meditation guy. Part of me, like, I was, you know, David Lynch or whatever, meditation 20 minutes a day for 50 years. And I'm like, fuck, I should probably do that. But there's something about it being under the goalposts. - No, it's performative. That's what people have. It's no one has a problem with meditation. Meditation is probably really great for you. And I have nothing against meditation. It's doing it performatively in a, Russell Wilson style thing where you're going out and all the cameras are looking at you and you're going through your plate, check out the air. - But, like, magically, all the microphones can hear you. - Rehaving in the eyeways of the airplane, on the way to the game or whatever, it's all performative. - It is worst guy you know energy. Well, you have to get ready to take those two handoffs in Wildcat format.
or whatever they were doing, what were they doing when they're using him as basically a running quarterback? - Do you think he's, what if he's just, - I'm just stumbling into a pod, you know? What if he's not even meditating? What if he's like crushing the watch? That'd be awesome, right? (laughing) He's like not even, he like secretly has headphones in. He's like, "What's the thing to do Olivia Rodriguez?" He's like, "I love her." (laughing) - I love to do a tasty chain. - He's listening to "Farter Shark." He's like, "Farter Shark." They didn't scatter me, that's my guy. We'd never talked about the meme where someone's like, "When Jason McCarthy looks like Jackson Dark, "but doesn't smell like him. "But it was Dan early walking up, "it's all right. "It's a happy guy." - Thank you. (laughing) - It's by far the best video of the year. - I think we might have to skip two 10 Ns at Squared Kyle Pits and a lie 'cause he actually had a really good game. - Yeah, he had 13 points. - Yeah, so I was pretty good. I think in exchange, we might have to do two receivers who outscored Jalen Waddle in a lie. - We're so good. - God, I'm back with Waddle. - I feel like a million bucks after trading him away last week. (laughing) - I told you, you asked what you should do it. I was like, "You should do it." - Like, I traded him for Quinn Chun-Judkins who did nothing. He had five points, but you know what? More than Jalen Waddle. - Not my problem. God, I feel so jealous of you. - Two receivers who outscored Jalen Waddle in a lie. - Dude, the list is unbelievable. - But today Waddle, God, I see what you've done for other people and I want that too. - Waddle had 3.8 points today. - Okay, well, I'm going full PPR for this. - You never go full PPR. - Bow Melton. - God damn it. - We'll also play some defense for green day. - It's always so, it's just devastating to see the list of players. - You could've played. - It's unbelievable. - It just tries me and say it. - Jashon Jones. - I don't know how that is. - What? - Jashon Jones. - I don't know who that is. - No, he's actually on the Vikings. Jashon Jones. - Okay. - Vikings. - Reggie Virgil. - Oh, Reggie Virgil had made some plays today. - I think, yeah, I think I remember him. - All right, I'll go deep. Deep cut, you ready for this guy? - Okay. - You won't believe it, what is that? Cherry Judy. - Oh. - I unfortunately want to go out of Browns. Yes, Judy had a big play. He also dropped him perutal pass. I'm going to go, I'm going to go bow mountain. I don't know. - No, bow mountain did outscored Jalen. - God damn it. - He did. - To the Jones guy. - Jashon Jones did not. He was tragically half a point below Jalen Waddle. Jashon Jones, who none of us knew this did. - Who is that guy? Where'd he come from? - I actually did no idea Jashon Jones is, I'll be honest. - So this begs the question. Wait, did we already not burn yet? - He has not been burned yet, Jalen Waddle. - Oh my. - Is there any other conversation for anyone else? Like I know that we have a bit about Waddle, but like this, we're not forcing this. Jalen Waddle this year had started the week one. He had 0.7 points in week one. Maybe at 18 and we two. - So insulting. - Then he had five and then he had 12 in this week. He had three. - Man. I mean, there are other people. - Well, I was going to throw out David. Sorry, what's his name? The Ravens, Mark Andrews. Ravens died out. Mark Andrews would be my vote. But I think Waddle was awesome. - You just hated him. - That's not true, really? It makes me sad. I want him to do well. I don't hate him. It just drives me to say what he, he's just, you can't have the ball. - Every time the ball goes to him, you want him to drop the ball. - No, that's not true. - No, you do. - I started it on my team. I want him to catch the ball. - All right, so we can do him. We can do Jalen Waddle. David Montgomery, I think it's on the chopping block. Brian Thomas. - I mean Montgomery scored 27 points in week one and then has three, five, four and one. - Yeah, he might be. - He got the first 10 seconds in the game today. - And that is bad. Like I'm not trying to blame the guy for that. - No, but I'm just saying, like the reality of rage is that when you're losing your mat at your players that he has 13 points in four in a month. - It's particularly burn bookie because having three touchdowns and 30 points in week one and then just being unplayable for the next month is so burn bookie. There's something specific about that. - I mean, over the lat, I mean if I could just do right now, I can just do like week two on. So like just since that game where he had a week, I was thinking of the hundreds and hundreds of running backs. You could start it in. - He's probably two to five. I bet you he is the running back. I bet you he's like the 48th running back. 57th running back. - Do you want to, do you want to guess? Okay. - I was thinking 93, 92. (laughing) - This is from week two to week five. It's, I mean, I'll give you two running backs better than David Montgomery in a live last month. Raheem Sanders, Raheem Sanders, Tyler Badei and Kyle Euse check. - God. Fucking full back. - That's just brutal. - Tyler Badei. - Who's, where's Tyler Badei play now? - Denver. - Broncos, yeah. - Well, yeah, David Montgomery is 16 points in a month. So I mean that, he's like, if you have him, you're flocked. - Yeah. - I know. He was a guy that I was gonna count on as my Arby, as an Arby two on a lot of my teams. - Yeah. - So I think it's David Montgomery, even though he got hurt, but I don't think anything's changed. - Does it mean to do that if you get a concussion? Is that in poor taste? - Yes. - Well, we burned it, we gotta do Waddle. - What are we doing? We gotta do Waddle. - Has it been? - The Waddle experience sucks. - I'm angry at Jalen Waddle. - Yeah. - He's healthy, that's what's worse. - And he was like, there was so much promise. Like, everybody got behind the idea of Jalen Waddle. - Short pace. - Finally being unlocked. - Short Bade's wife said that she had a draft Jalen Waddle. She got roped into the shit too. - He had two catches today. - So when Short Bade takes back the play calling though, are you guys gonna be in? - He did, when do you think that'll be? - No, I heard next week, he's a man. - You know why we should also bring Jalen Waddle? - I can't wait for that. - They're playing the fucking Seahawks on Thursday night. You should not play Jalen Waddle. - I don't know how you can. - He has-- - It's not. - I was actually, I'm shocked. We didn't already burn him. I thought we did. - 'Cause we too, he was kind of good. - Yeah. - The other four weeks he has 66 yards total. - There's very few players we complain about more. (laughing) - Wait, what did you say I missed it? - The other four weeks that Jalen Waddle had the one really good game against the Jaguars. The other four weeks he has 66 yards total. - So that's, God, terrible. - What are we doing to ourselves? - The ironic thing is it's maybe not even Sean Payne's fault. It's maybe Bodex's fault, 'cause Bodex has been horrific. - No, that's his fault too. Sean Payne drafted Bodex and then did a giant victory lap about having Bodex after his rookie season. - Well, yes, I'm not absolving Sean Payne. I'm just saying it's been a disaster. But yes, Waddle is absolutely the pick here. - All right, I think, yeah, we should burn Jalen Waddle. - I'm taking, for shits and gigs, I took out, I just did, if you just look at week one, week three, week four and week five, we're Jalen Waddle ranks and it's below Dante Myers on the Bengals. - In fantasy points? - Yes. - Waddle has the, yeah, if you're a move week two, he has the, he's 94th in receiving yards. Behind Diambi Brown, Isaiah Bond, and Cody White, and Marvin Harrison Jr. - God. - Marvin Harrison Jr. is more yards than Jalen Waddle outside of week two. - I think the lesson is today, we're talking about Mark Andrews and Jalen Waddle again. Why do we keep doing this to ourselves? - I think the worst thing we've ever done with the show is DK hates Sean Payton, and we hate Jalen Waddle, and somehow we just decided that. - Yeah, that's gonna work. - Can't do that. - Can't do that. - It's like, actually, it's actually the dumbest thing we've ever done, and we've done a lot of things. - Next time we need to do the thing where we say things out loud and ask ourselves, does this make any sense? - Yeah. - We should write that in the player name. It should say Jalen Waddle and Boenix and Sean Payton, every fucking player card should say that. - God. - All right. Cool, all right, thank you, DK. Thank you, Craig. - God, I was wrong with this. - Thank you, Cam. Thank you, Nikhil. Thank you, Austin. Thank you, over listening. Emails to ring your fantasy football gmail.com. Send us trivia questions, send us waiver, yeah. Send us trivia questions, send us fantasy courts. We'll litigate your group chats, figure out what you guys are arguing about. Thank you, Lauren. - Lauren. - Who's up? Songs you're embarrassed you love. - Is it me? - Is it you, DK? - I have one in the holster if you don't have one. - Wait, I had the list. DK went Miley, I went Jesse J, hyphids went Imagine Dragons, DK went Avrilovine's catalog, I went Clumsy by Fergie, hyphids is up. - Oh, I'm up, sweet. Wow, do you use on it? Okay, let's see, I got a whole list. Oh, here we go. - I thought about that Clumsy song all weekend, Craig. - You got my trip. (laughing) - Oh, it's done by the end. (laughing) - Mine is Cruz by Florida, Georgia line. - Oh, I don't know if I know that one. - I love trash pop country. - Yeah. - I love the country that people who love country hate. Like. (laughing) - That's a great thing.
- Great call 'cause I do hate that kind of music. - Like, pop country's funny because people hate country music hate it, but people love country music also hate it, and it's like a great mix. - Oh, I know this song. - Yeah, yeah, it's like in "Cave me with a song." - Yeah, come on, it's just so good. - Yeah. - Dude, Florida, Georgia line, it's incredible. I'm sorry, it'd be great. - Absolutely, this is so good. - It's just, come on.
