Week 5 Fantasy Football Reactions & Injuries + Early Week 6 Waiver Wire (Ep. 2256)
47m 31s
The podcast provides a detailed recap of NFL injuries, storylines, and fantasy implications following a busy weekend of games. Key injuries include Quinchon Judkins (ankle), David Montgomery (groin), Traveon Henderson (high ankle), and Trey Harris (hamstring), all of which pose short- to mid-term risks for their respective teams. Marvin Harrison’s trade to the Texans is highlighted as a strategic move to give him a more consistent role, while Drake May’s strong return validates him as a reliable fantasy asset. Jalen Warren’s dominant performance in Pittsburgh underscores the importance of maintaining his role in the offense, with concerns raised about splitting carries with Rico Dotto. Chase Brown remains a risky, underperforming option, and the Eagles’ depth issues, particularly with Damien Pierce as the only viable running back, are noted. Fantasy players are advised to stay cautious with wide receivers and running backs facing injury risks, while also keeping an eye on returning players like Caleb Williams and Devonte Smith. The discussion also highlights the volatility of waiver wire decisions, with players like Mason Taylor and Jeremy Bernard emerging as potential value picks. Overall, the analysis balances injury concerns with emerging trends in team dynamics, offering a realistic outlook for fantasy football strategy ahead of Sunday night football.
This is an I Heart podcast guaranteed human. Welcome everybody. It's a fantasy pro Sunday night recap where we recap all the games that happened today, all of the injuries. I'm your host Scott Bogdan. I'm joined by Tara Roberts and Dr. Deepak John. We're going to go over all the stuff that happened in the NFL today for you. We're going to talk some injuries first. Then we're going to move to the storylines and headlines. And then who we panicking on on the panic meter. And of course, answer some of your questions before Sunday night football starts at the end here. So Tara, how was your Sunday? Was it a good one for you? It was a great Sunday as a fan. Yeah. Um, you know, from a fantasy perspective, got messed up by CD on Thursday. But we persevered on that. But yeah, as a fan of Green Bay. Hello, that was shocking. Yay. Christian, you're in love. Got a nice big win. And a lot of your guys look good doing that in Deepak. The Texans go on the road and get a dub finally and make a trade from Marvin Harrison, Jr. So all kinds of moving and shaking for your Texans. Yes, sir, we're right back in him. And Super Bowl hunt. And that's see, this is my fault. I picked the Texans to go to the Super Bowl. So I will take the blame for the initial bad star clearly on me. But maybe, you know, CJ Stroud reuniting with his old, you know, wide receiver, maybe we can get something moving in Harrison, obviously needs a change of scenery here. But let's go ahead and get into these injuries. It wasn't the worst Sunday ever, but we did have some here. And let's start with Quinchon Judkins, Deepak. You know, we didn't hear about this injury in the game. And then after the game, all the reports are he's in a boot. So was there anything you were able to see from this? Or was this, um, was it just kind of like a tough one to know about because we didn't see the specific injury? Yeah, I think it's a more of kind of, there's no video that shows, yeah, he clearly got injured at any point. The concern here is that they had him in a boot. It's the same side that he had the prior ankle fracture dislocation on. So keeping in mind, he's still relatively fresh from that injury. And it usually takes about 12 months to regain your full kind of explosiveness after that. So he's not quite there. That would be December. With that in mind, we're suspecting a sprain kind of based on the verbiage that's been thrown around so far. Really just have to follow the practice ports on this one. Man, that's tough. If Judkins is down, Tara, is there a, because Raheem Sanders got banged up too, right? Deepak, so is there a browns running back? You trust? Or is this going to be the Denzel Boston Harold Vannon show? I mean, I suppose in theory, Gillil McLaughlin is on roster. I mean, I would wait and see because at least we know with, I mean, I just, I can't get there. He does have receiving upside, right? So let's wait and see what I mean, my preference would be if we can have Raheem Sanders. But again, that one is, you have this gross. But Baltimore up this week, that's doable. Tennessee after that. So if this is a long term issue, yeah. And Gillil McLaughlin is the only one on roster. Then we got to look that way. I mean, he made a bunch of tacklers for the Steelers look silly on Thursday night. So, you know, it's still got a little juice left in there, I guess. Deepak, Dave Montgomery, your guy went down with a groin injury here. Woody Marks took over and looked great. So the pivot is pretty easy. But this groin injury, is this something that could have been affecting him previously, which is why he looks so bad. And now, obviously, he has to miss a little bit of time with it. To my knowledge, he hasn't really been dealing with anything that's been reported so far. So my suspicion is this is a new injury. The average on these is about one to two weeks. And most players would miss at least one week. With that being said, milder forms are ones that sometimes players try to come back. Same game, which is what T Higgins did last game and then played today. But with that with him being ruled out, we would suspect he misses at least a game, at least that's certainly what the data would favor. Yeah. And that's just Tara. That's just wheels up for what he right? It is. Yeah. And you know, hey, you might be thinking that he's not on waivers. Check it out. 53% rostered in Yahoo League. So you never know someone might have rage dropped after the Texans have been just performing so horribly. He looks so much better than David Montgomery. I think there's hope and they really do like him. So if he's out there, for sure. Yeah, this is a tough one because I want it like they Montgomery look so washed. I just wanted this to be something that maybe had been bothering for a couple of weeks. So you could come back and look better, but it just does not look good right now. And then Deepak, I'll try to be on Henderson left with an ankle injury. Obviously, pretty easy lift to Ramondra. Stevenson and specifically because Corey Kiner also had a fumble in this game. So Ravel's never going to let him touch the ball again. It should be all Stevenson. If there's no Traveon, but how long do we expect Traveon to miss with this ankle injury? Yeah, the concern here is that this may be a high ankle. So we're talking in if that's the case, you're usually two to three week average. And sometimes players have quite a production dip when they come back. So we know a little more to probably get an MRI tomorrow and know totally about the severity a little bit reassuring that he was bearing weight on it limping, but bearing weight right away. So we'll know certainly a lot more after an MRI, but there is some concern long term of this one. How does a high ankle sprain affect burst? Because that's like the only tool in the bag right now for Henderson, because the vision just is not there. It's like Trent Richardson vision. So he's, you know, he's either 30 or one 30 or one does well, the high ankle when he does come back affect his burst a little bit. The burst in a straight line is usually well preserved in that the high ankles really evolved in rotation. And so planting and twisting, but obviously as a running back, you're making all sorts of fast cuts. So running backs and wide receivers tend to see the biggest hit from it when they come back. And and straight line burst, as you say, wouldn't be totally affected. All right. Well, it shouldn't affect him too much when he comes back, but obviously we're going to have to know how long it is just even in there. Right, Tara? No, you're not interested in Corey Kiner or maybe even just more Drake May. He's looked good the last two weeks. Yeah, that's true. Boost of Drake May, um, Ramandre Stevenson has a very nice clear floor. I would not make the pivot because most of us were not starting Travegan Henderson unless we had to. So if you don't want to keep going down that road, how about, um, how about TJ Hawkinson with the concussion? I mean, I know we've gone over concussions like a million times. It's eight to nine days, typically, correct? Yeah, you're exactly right. TJ Hawkinson. And then I throw the other one in their case, he concepts the own, just, uh, both concussions diagnosed today. Uh, and Kenyan Cedic actually as well. So average is about eight days on these, uh, most players, about two thirds will miss at least one game with majority returning that second week. Now about a third of players in Jamar Chase showed us this week. Do make it through the protocol, uh, without missing any time. So that's our hope with all of these guys. But in most cases, they would miss one game. Come back to following. Luckily for Hawkinson by week next week. So he should be back. No problem. Kasey conception is the one we're looking at that coin flip with. Is there, I mean, Isaiah Bond got a lot of time today. Tara, and he looked good. And this would not be the first time he popped quite frankly. There were a lot of times last season where he looked better than Jerry duty. And like he should have been the one that was getting more intention in the offense. So I definitely think that wouldn't be worth an ad for a low end flex option. And we'll shiply with this foot injury depock. There are no Eagles players left. It feels like the line is beat up. The running backs are beat up. No Devonte, Dallas got it just came back. So how long do we expect a foot injury to shelf will shiply one of the very few healthy players on the Eagles before this game? Yeah, they don't they don't have a lot of info on this one out there. If we're going with the most common diagnosis, that's going to be a sprain, a midfoot sprain. And that would be about three weeks on average. But again, very little info out here. Keep in mind, they called sake one week to week. And he in most cases would miss at least one more game. So we're kind of TBD on on both of those players. Well, man, Tara, uh, Damien Pierce. I know Jaden blue is on the practice squad. Maybe somebody else from a practice squad. They should have picked up Kate Tron Allen. We're Washington. Cut him. Uh, what are your thoughts on the Eagles run game right now? You would think they would go run out and get a Kareem hot something. You would think because Damien Pierce, look, he, a starting running back as a starting running back. Again, guys can't turn our nose up to it. And I do think it's very clear. I know we might have some, you know, residual feelings for blue. But at the end of the day, probably going to be Damien Pierce that they would try to rely on as a early down back and a goal line back. And that's the value in the Philadelphia offense. So yeah, if they're both out on where do we go? We saw it a little shippling that touchdown came guys. So it did. Don't turn your nose up to it. Yeah. Yeah. And that's, that's very true. And a good point to make of like, even if we don't like this guy, he has a role. And specifically in this offense, that role is likely to score touchdowns. Um, Trey Harris left with a hamstring injury, deep pocket. This one was kind of late in the process here right about before half time of that chargers game. Uh, what are your thoughts on this hamstring injury for Trey Harris? Yeah, Trey Harris. And I would kind of group DBO Samuel with that as well. They both had hamstrings today. Uh, when you have like a sudden moment of
hamstring tightness and you feel it in-game and it stops you kind of in your tracks. Usually you're looking at at least that kind of moderate severity grouping of those hamstring injuries, which average is two to three weeks. So we're in most cases looking at multi-weekaps and then re-endery risk is really the concern I think with these guys because if you get re-endered, it kind of bumps you up one level of severity and the average on that is somewhere around the 15-20% range. So there's pretty significant when you come back Yikes, I mean Tara, it's Brennan Thompson is down, it's Quentin Johnston is down, Ladma Conkey was active and barely played. Trey Harris is hurt now, then we're down to Darius Davis, Marquez Valdez Scantling, Theo Whis and then on the practice quad is Gary Jennings. So I guess maybe some tight-end action out of the chargers moving forward if Harris is going to miss time or just no action. I mean, I can't even get there. It was I mean, Arondik Aston had one target, no receptions. You would have thought that, you know, with all the wide receiver injuries, they would have turned that direction. No, it was a blocking, what a blocking tight end and then a little bit, a Charlie Collar so it's really tough to, maybe a boost to Keaton Mitchell, but even then so it's not as if we saw anything prolifics, but you know, hey, he got receptions probably more than the receiving core will continue to get at this point. The last two I had for you, Deepak was Kenny and Sedeek went down with a concussion, obviously going through Proto again, seven to nine days, whatever the normal thing is. And then Roman Wilson with a finger wrist injury, what are your thoughts on those two and are there any others that I didn't get to here? Yes, so as Sedeek, I think in general, you would see most players either miss one week or miss zero, more commonly miss one week and come back to falling without a production hit. The Roman Wilson injury, they didn't tell us yet, like, is it a fracture, is it a sprain? Now we're seeing a lot of hand and finger injuries for wide receivers cause a decrease in the production for about three weeks. And that's obvious, I think, by mechanism, just inability to fully craft that ball with full grip strength. But with that being said, you know, a lot of them are playing through and so we'll just have to follow the practice reports on this one. Yeah, Terry, your recommendations for Sedeek, I got to imagine that's Mason Taylor. Yep, Mason Taylor, they like him. I mean, that was even the risk to Sedeek's volume to begin with. So, yep, and then on the other end with Roman Wilson, who I was so helpful for, Jeremy Bernard continues to look at. So hey, he took advantage of his opportunities, showed a lot of promise this offseason and preseason. We thought that might be a little bit of something. We got Pittman on IR. So yes, that is 100% one that you really do need to look at. Yeah, we really should have expected Bernard more than Roman Wilson because he is such a good blocker. He actually started his in pop Warner playing offensive line. So the dude knows how to block, even though he is, you know, a little light, but dude knows how to block and he's probably going to be out there a little bit more than Roman, especially now because of the centuries. So all right, I think that is everything depocked. We get to all the injuries. We didn't miss anything. No, didn't miss anything. I would just throw in that Caleb Williams and Lamar Jackson both trending towards potentially coming back this coming week. Data with slightly favorite sake one missing and Devon T Smith has a good chance at coming back potentially this week. All right. Get some pieces back for Philly, please. We need them. Well, thank you. Depock, we are going to let you go and Terri and I will come back to go over the biggest story lines of week five right after these messages before we move on. Let me tell you guys about a new prediction market called polymarket. It's a stock exchange for sports buying in and selling out on your terms when your team goes down to 20%. You can buy in and sell it off at 40% when they come back to double your money. They're so confident. You'll never go back to the other guys. They're giving you a free $25 on your first trade need to deposit just $10. And now they've launched a new feature squads a group chat where you can see what everyone is trading on. So download the Polymarket app today and use the code fp pod when you sign up. That's fp pod to get $25 free after you deposit just $10. All right, Terri. Time to move on to the story lines for week five as we roll on here. First up is Marvin Harrison getting traded to the Texans. The Cardinals getting back a 2027 second and a six going to Arizona. So this is not something that actually happened on the field today, but big, big move here and we obviously need to talk about it. So what are your thoughts about Marvin Harrison moving on to Houston? It is best for him. He was out there basically running cardio with Arizona. And I think it's good for Houston because while we have seen, you know, some of it, it's interesting, right? Because finally, we did actually see a little bit push forward from Jalen all had a nice day, five receptions, got a touchdown, Xavier Hutchinson. I think we know he is Xavier or K Sean booty, got a nice little catch, but it never hurts for a team that has a very clear wide receiver one in no true identified wide receiver to especially in particular on the outside to go out and see if a talent did, you know, well, I know some people think that there's a lot of lack of talent with Marvin Harrison, but former first round pick, a guy who, well, prior to this year has been proven to have spike weeks and put up numbers. It's just a matter of consistency. Can we get him into a situation where he is utilized to the best of his capabilities. Can someone help coach him up a little bit to push through some of the flaws that he has? But it's a better opportunity in Houston than what he was getting in Arizona. I know that people will give the whole cell high on Marvin's in junior. If you can and, you know, realistically, the buy market is probably a little suspect and not really out there, but it doesn't hurt to try to see if you can get something just because we know at the very least he clearly will play second fiddle to Nico Collins. So the opportunity is for him to be the consistent wide receiver to when he didn't get that in Arizona. So upgrade for him, but let's not overreact too much. Yeah. I agree. Right. But that's the measured position of Marvin Harrison right now is you kind of just have to see what is going to go on with him moving on because we heard the floor talk about how well he has his role. Well, his role is running cardio, right? It's like clearing everything out. So Michael Wilson and Kendrick born and Tramock Bride and everybody else can work underneath and a couple of targets of games. So hopefully the Texans involve him a little bit more. I wouldn't like this if Jayden Higgins was still around this season, but obviously no Jayden Higgins and they can work out any issues next year there. They started one in four now, so they need to get on it. So getting another target, I think is a very, very smart, but yeah, I think, you know, cautiously optimistic is probably the phrase we need to use about Marvin Harrison moving forward here. Are we officially done with Colson Loveland? That's going to be number two for you here. Obviously, week one blanked at Carolina, one for three against Minnesota, four for 31 against Philly had a nicer game last week's nine targets, six catches and 57 yards against the jets. And then today another stinker, five for two and 19 yards. Now Caleb Williams has been out since week two might be coming back next week. I got another guy I'm going to surprise you with after this, but tell us about Colson Loveland first. Yeah, and I had a comment that I wanted to show, I was saving it up, I saw it, so I wanted to give the little shout out there to Chris who said, I think it's time to drop Loveland. So I thought we could discuss that as well over doing this one right here because there has been technical promise. Like there were games where, you know, he was just short of a touchdown. If the touchdown had been there, yeah, it would have looked like a much better week. I don't know if we can drop him yet because we're seeing inconsistencies from everyone. Burma Dune, Zayl, Luther Burton, it's not as if anyone has in particular like stepped out and just really stood out. I mean, even Khalif Raim and the little pop that he had earlier, again, continued inconsistencies. Caleb Williams coming back will get this offense back on track from past perspective and it's anyone's game. Of course, Ben Johnson is ultimately who is driving the choice of who's game it is, but Loveland still has the opportunity and there were several games where it should have been a better stat line in theory. So I'm not quite dropping him, especially because a lot of our guys that are borderline streaming options are shaky as well. So unless you really, really have a solid, really dependable option at tight end or, you know, and there's no one else that's buying in your league. Then yeah, I'm not quite at the 100% drop yet yet. Yeah, I'm, I'm there with you and look, it's hard for us to sit here and tell you to keep a guy that has been, you know, a drag on your starting light up. So, you know, if you're in a small enough league, if you're in a 10 man toss him, if you're a 12 man with shallow benches and there's a tight end you like out there, I don't hate it. So obviously it hurts because you spent such a high pick on on Colson Loveland, but I am okay if you do feel like you need to move on. But I do think that when he gets Caleb back, there's going to be more consistency. He's still running a ton of routes. So I think there's something in there. The guy I want to tell you.
his prize you with in this conversation, Chase Brown. We had a comment somebody saying, hey, look, don't let Chase Brown get away with it. He's been awful all year. And he hasn't been great. And last week was, you know, two weeks ago, and last last week, he scored touchdown before that. He had eight yards, but it was another bad day today. He fumbled. P Ryan got his touchdown. It was just a really bad look. So what are your thoughts on Chase Brown moving forward? Is he a guy that you would try to, if someone is buying maybe trade him or you just so confident in this Bangles offense that you're holding on to Chase Brown? I was low key hoping for a good day for. I did spring this on you. So I apologize. Yeah. No, no, it's okay. I was hoping for a good day for a potential sell high because I have been getting a ton of Chase Brown trade questions in lives over the past couple of weeks. And I find myself saying, I don't like that side, the side with Chase Brown for some reason, because I mean, at the end of the day, this is a high powered offense and theory, but it's high powered through receptions. And Chase Brown's value comes through receptions. His efficiency on the ground has been some par whether that's him, whether that's the run blocking. I like, I have not looked close enough into it to really be able to make that determination, but we have consistently seen that what we were hoping for from him is a fairly safe floor. And if the floor isn't there, we know he traditionally just doesn't have top five upside because the touchdowns aren't there. They go through Jamar Chase and they go through T Higgins. So we're looking for a baseline. And the baseline hasn't really been there in a couple of games. It's not a panic situation in my opinion because I think the Summage AP right thing was an anomaly, right? And he's still the lead back, but he's not a by low for me quite frankly, because I think that people that have him still hold him to a certain level of value. Gonna cost so much. Yeah. Yeah. The cost doesn't make sense. So when I'm getting these trade questions, I look at it and I'm like, just cost-wise, it just, it doesn't make sense in terms of spending and giving up that much to get somebody who is subpar performance. And we don't know exactly what it can turn around to. Yeah, I mean, it's been tough. And I do like Summage AP Ryan is, you know, how Justice Hill will annoy us every once in a while by scoring a touchdown or two when you're like, come on, just give that to Derek Henry. I feel like that's kind of P Ryan's role in this offense. Maybe a little bit more than that as well. And when we see him fumble, you know, when we see Chase Brown fumble, then it is a big issue. So number three here, May is back, right? Two good weeks in a row, 2237, 269 yards, three touchdowns last week against Buffalo. But today, four touchdowns passing no interceptions and a rushing touchdown. This is the Drake May we thought we were getting. Dre is all the way back. No question, correct? Yeah, we're good. Yeah, I mean, there was, I mean, and Vegas's defense has performed decently well this season. So this is by no means the layup that we've seen in the past. So for him to put up these levels of numbers. And again, we don't have AJ Brown. This wasn't even really Romeo dobs. This was him spreading the ball around to F Frenchism and various tight ends. And you know, it was really a cow Williams. Hey, so yeah, yeah, finally, really good to see him effectively spreading the ball around, utilizing all of his weapons. And for as much as we ragged on him for the cupcake schedule last season and the rough start with a much more difficult schedule to start off the season, the cupcakes are going to hit like where we're hitting the jets or hitting the Chicago Bears who showed that whatever they had done defensively over the past three weeks was the poor set of quarterbacks they had faced. That is still the same struggle secondary that we saw all last year. Miami, Green Bay, injured defense, Detroit. So yeah, we're hitting a nice little month and a half here where we're going to feel super comfortable with Drake May on a weekly basis. So any fears we had? Oh, you take a deep breath and say, okay, he's his back on track, guys. Yeah, I think the time to buy him is over. Like if you were going to buy Drake May, that is over. I mean, it was bad. Remember the people that were saying like, look, I'm dropping him for Tyler shock in leagues. We saw people saying that and it got clips. So it looked like I said it, by the way, which is not something I said, but people were done with Drake May and it's tough, specifically, you know, you pay a high price for a guy and they don't perform well to start and you start out on three. It's, you know, obviously you're going to be bad about that. Number four here, can the Steelers really split touches when Rico Dotto comes back. Jalen Warren was awesome again today. Fifteen carries for 101 and a touchdown had a 50 yard touchdown there and an 80 yard receiving touchdown against Indy where Indian
apolis where DK Metcalf was really blocking well for him down down the field. And last week, 93 yards on the ground, 33 through the year, week three when Dotto got hurt. He had another almost 170 yards here. So Rico is going to come back soon. He almost came back this week, probably back next week. So what are your thoughts on Jalen Warren moving forward and can they really split with Rico? It would be morally, morally corrupt if they did that. He's on a roll. And I understand that Mike McCarthy had a vision for this offense in terms of utilizing multiple backs. But I just don't, we know that Rico has, you know, talent, right? But I just don't see how you let the hot hand be forced into reduced carries when you've been doing so well with him. It's been highly effective. So, and he just, he's such a well-rounded back, a three down back. You don't have to worry about past protection. And obviously Rico can block, but he's nowhere near the level of Jalen Warren. He's nowhere near the level of what you can do after the catch with Jalen Warren. So he is just the better back in terms of being a more well-rounded back. But again, this is Rico Dotto is one of, you know, Mike McCarthy's boys. And Mike McCarthy is steadily saying, like, we're not making assumptions. He's saying, no, we're going to get back to getting Rico in there. He's going to continue to be a part. It's going to be, you know, we're going to keep splitting carries. And I just, I, I hope that that is not the solution, but if you possibly have the opportunity to sell high on Warren, you might want to do that. If you can get that one over on your legmates because Mike McCarthy could legitimately force it back into a committee. Man, I just think it would be funny if Rico got usurped in this job because it's exactly what he did to Chuba at the end of last year in Carolina. So it'd kind of be funny because Warren is having these massive games exactly like Rico had when Chuba got hurt last year. The last storyline here for you, Tara, are we trusting any Eagles at all? I mean, you, you did kind of make a case for trusting Damien Pierce to maybe score a touchdown in a league. If you're desperate, like, I guess what are some of the names you're willing to start Damien Pierce over if he is playing next week? They've got Carolina coming up a buy, by the way, just for reference. Yeah, it would, I mean, well, because it would be theoretically that David Montgomery range, but now that he's injured, just think about that range where you say, you know, Travian Henderson, now I do. So I guess probably not a lot of people, honestly, you would start over him in that range. He'll be in the low end or high end RB 3 area falling behind your guys that are actual workhorses. But then you've got to consider the fact that we've got four teams on a buy. We saw, you know, what's going on with Quench on Jetkins. We talked about that earlier. A lot of the RB 3s are dealing with injuries. So yeah, theoretically, I could see him being someone that you would start as a low end RB 2 next week. Tony Pollard or Damien Pierce? You got me. I don't know who, who does Tennessee have next week? I am trying to double check the Colts. They're at the Colts who just gave up all those yards to Warren. I have might be Pollard still, but that's a tough one. Yeah, I could go that direction, because at least he's had, he has a baseline, a nice baseline of carries at least. So I could go more snaps than Pollard this week too. Not more carries, but he had like nine catches just a weird week as well. All right. We yeah, yeah, we're going to move on to the panic meters. All right, let's go to the panic meter. Tara, I put a couple of names in here first. Tyler Schuck 16 to 25 96 yards and two picks against the Vikings at was at home. Obviously the run game is crippled right now, but that has been very, very tough. What are your thoughts on Tyler Schuck?
If it was just this week, I wouldn't be concerned because you can make the really good argument that, hey, this was a defense situation, but the last week somewhat debacle where he did not look bad, but the offensive line clearly could not, I mean, he was just trying to get the ball out as quickly as possible, almost to the fact that he was throwing it blind because the blocking was so bad and we know it was bad because there was no success on the ground. So yeah, we've got some mild concerns, probably like a six at the end of the day, it still has to be a high volume offense. I was slightly concerned with this matchup because Kyler Murray can't push enough offensively to force it into a, we got to push aggressive pass volume to chase. So that was my concern that we would get into this kind of weird area where this is just not an ideal game script for Tyler Schuck extreme volume. So panic meter six on this one. Yeah, I would say this is the panic meter higher on Tyler Schuck or for any offense playing the Vikings right now, the five and oh, Minnesota Vikings. Yeah, I agree with that one. The defense is just incredible. The only, the only relief you get is that again, Kyler Murray is just good enough, but not good enough to make it so that teams are having to like their scripted out of the game completely. So yeah, that's a real defense though, guys. That's a real one. It's working for sure. Our buddy, Mark here says Luther burden. What is your panic meter on Luther burden? Again, kind of like, I almost said, Marcus Colson, Colson, Loveland, that's show my age here. Colson, Loveland, you know, they haven't had their quarterback for the last, you know, two and a half weeks, two and three quarters weeks since Caleb went down. So there's part of that in there, but I don't know. I think there's a little concern for pretty much everybody that isn't swift. It's, it's more of a so if you make it compared, yeah, right? If you compare it to Roma, so let's look at, yeah, let's contextualize it. Roma, do him and Roma, do you say, like I would say, Rome is a panic meter, eight, then comparatively, yeah, Luther would be a panic meter, three, right? Compared to a Colson, Loveland, he would be lower in panic meter as well. So in the context of that offense, at least we've got a consistent baseline of target. You know, he's getting six or so. We know that he can be productive in terms of yardage. We wish that more touchdowns were there, but I have more confidence that he can at least give you the best floor between those three. So he's the one that I'm not that panicked over in the entire bears offense at the terms of pass catchers. So like a three. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Something low. I agree with you there. Jalen Waddle from Stevie was this supposed to get better with Sean Peyton calling plays now. Davis Web looking over there like, yeah, yeah. Uh-huh. You see how easy it is? Not it's bonix. It's bonix. Now, no, he, it's a bonix problem. Sadly, it really is. Um, the play calling is, it's not the issue. The man has an aversion to certain passes and he loves to check down. My panic meter is I can't comfortably rank Waddle in the top 20 at all because you're getting all or nothing. It's just a situation where you don't feel incredibly comfortable. We saw the Courtland Sutton touchdown and that is the Sean Peyton way is you never know on a weekly basis who is someone will get it, you know, a touchdown. Someone will be successful. You will never know who it is. So we're back to that. But we had last year with him and Troy Franklin and you know, Brian Marvin Mims, you never knew which direction it was going to go. So I just, my panic meter on Jalen Waddle is a seven. I genuinely, if you can bail out of that situation in general, I would advise it. Uh, and then we have one from Lehigh here. Nico Collins, now that Marv reunites with Stratt, do you have a panic meter on Nico or, uh, cause I really don't. I think this, all this can do is kind of help Nico. I guess if Marv came in and was the guy that we thought he was coming into the NFL just because he went to a new team, that would impact Nico. I just don't think we get that from Marv. So, uh, I think that's like a, you know, three percent scenario or something like that. So I don't have too much worry. But, um, you know, it, Lee, I asked a question here. So it's obviously on some people's minds. Yeah. I don't think it's super high. I mean, we've seen Nico split with talent, right? We saw it with a healthy tanked L with a healthy step on deck. So we've seen, it's not as if he has been exclusively the wide receiver one unquestioned in the past. And this is brand new territory. So I'm not panicked. It could cap the insane upside potential that he has in terms of, oh, the 150 games and whatnot. But at the end of the day, he's still by far at the best talent. Um, the only worry you could have is if CJ Stroud has a certain level of favoritism, you know, cause I, hey, I'm bringing it in my boy. And now we're going to have this connection. And I want to help him. So it's possible that plays a role. But Nico is still the alpha in this offense. Yeah. I like this comment here too. If Marv can't beat out Michael Wilson, hey, beaten out Nico. And I agree with that 100%. So, you know, decent question. I mean, obviously it's on people's minds. You never know how these new guys are going to interact. So absolutely, you know, pertinent question there. Let's go on to some questions from everybody before we get to the questions. So let me just scroll on back to it. And we will start at the top here. The first one is, wouldn't you trade away? Caleb and Will Caleb and Hubbard, Devonte Smith downs for Puka, CMC and black. I have Stafford at quarterback. So Caleb Williams, Chuba Hubbard, Devonte Smith, Josh Downs for Puka, CMC and black. I mean, I'm doing that in a heartbeat. Yes. Yeah. No questions. One hundred percent. Yeah. If that's offered to you, pull that trigger immediately. If you're offering it, I don't think he gets the job done, but you never know, ask and see. I think it's probably too low of an offer, but, you know, you never know unless you try. So give it a whirl there. This one, oh, right before here, do I start flowers or Devonte Adams this week? I am still going with flowers. I know the appeal of Adams, given the matchup, like we can maybe finally see an uptick. I'm expecting a better game than what we have had with Puka back. But I still trust Zay flowers more in terms of, I think we talked about this one a little bit in terms of this being the perfect scenario where Atlanta will force more pass volume because their offense is so good that it's not going to be, hey, we can let's just run Derek Henry. Only Derek Henry, no passes. We're going to keep Huntley at 15 attempts. Now he's going to have to push upwards a little bit to keep up with Bayjon and Drake London because Baltimore's defense is dealing with a lot of injuries. So I still have, I still have flowers higher. Yeah. I mean, unless you need like five points to win, you know, they're done. And all you need is a floor and, you know, Zay is sitting at questionable, then it's definitely say, if you need anything more than five points, I'm going to say for sure. Just because Devonte with Puka is different, you know, had the huge weeks, but it should be way better than last week and it should be way more than five points, but nothing's guaranteed. Let's see, even though they're on buy next week, should Mason be stashed ASAP? I did it a couple of weeks ago. So someone cut him in my league because we only have one IR spot in a big money league that I'm in. So somebody cut him a while back and I immediately stashed him. I had, I can't even remember who on the IR, but I dropped my IR guy picked up Jordan Mason and look, you know, if they were a little more interested in Dominic Clayborn or DJ Dallas or giving the ball to somebody else, then I probably wouldn't be as interested in Jordan Mason. But Aaron Jones got hurt and left and came back and they still didn't give any staff to anybody else, Tara. It was all Aaron Jones still. So it's obviously going to be Jones and Mason when Mason comes back and I don't know if Jones can survive another, you know, 25 carries. Luckily, they're on buy this week and hopefully we're going to get Mason back after that. Yeah, it's just such a, they really don't like anyone else in that offense. And this is not the first time we've seen Aaron Jones get banged up in the game. It keeps happening I hope that he holds up, but recent
history has shown that might not be the case, especially when he is getting such aggressive workload. Yeah, exactly. So yeah, I think if you have, if you're going to forward Mason right now, I'd go get him if possible. Let's see. What does Bonnie's injury do for marks? I mean, it opens up everything for marks because kind of like we just said, when Minnesota, I don't know that Houston has another back on the roster that they like outside of Woody, right, Tara? Correct. And they do like Woody a lot. And this has become a split back field where Woody has functionally looked like the better back. So I mean, hey, better days ahead. Now that the defense is back on track, hopefully across our fingers that stays and the offense is flowing. So at least we can get good game scripts for him to be successful on the ground. So it pushes him up if there's no Monty given the injuries. I mean, you know, early thoughts would be he would probably be a borderline top 20 back. Yeah, I think so too. I mean, just a really good spot for Woody marks being if if Monty's going to miss an extended period of time. Mr. Mr. Crimson says, man, I'm so tired of Hampton and Chase Brown. Not really a question here. Kind of a statement. But we talked about Chase Brown, Hampton, Tara. I mean, it's rough right now. I just, I think this is foolish, not giving him more carries, but he hasn't look good. So yeah, but I know I don't think he's looked necessarily so bad that we would say he shouldn't be getting, getting carries because no one else in particular, I mean, the offense, when they give him a chance, I would say that he is deserving of being the lead back. But they've made it very clear that philosophically, they believe this should be a committee. And I don't think that they're going to change it. And I'm not entirely sure why I mean, they trust commodity by down on third downs and they're taking they're not, you know, putting Hampton in that way. So I mean, it's just like they're trying anything and everything to get more bodies involved and try to get more offense. And the solution is probably just, I don't know man, he was Marri and Hampton. But yeah, it's very frustrating. I totally get it. The only reprieve we have is that at the very least, his job can't be fully stolen. So there's just a baseline there that you have to work with. Doesn't fully have it. Can't get fully stolen. Right. One says Hampton or Lloyd, I'm tired of the chargers RB situation. So would you go Hampton or Lloyd there? I am still not one. Lloyd got the two touchdowns. So that's very appealing. But it was also like, what, Tane carries for 30 yards. So it wasn't exactly like he was just like, um, absolutely killing it on the ground and dominating. They were playing from ahead. They're still a pass happy offense. And I do not think that the offensive line, um, and they're trying to functionally work with it as it is, right? But, um, the offensive line, is not putting the running backs in the best case scenario for them to succeed on the ground as well. So for him to have gotten what he did in this game, I think was a miracle. So he'll move up into a more trustworthy area of rankings. I would still go Hampton over Lloyd. I know that you're tired of it. You night. I get it. But if you think you're tired of Hampton, wait until you get tired of Lloyd. Yeah, those touchdowns didn't come. All right. We're about to get kickoff for Sunday night. So we're going to wrap it fire a couple here. Uh, do I trade away Malik weight neighbors and Woody Marks to get JSN? Yes, I could do that. I would do that too. Uh, let's see, given the volume for neighbors today and the injury to Montgomery, would you trade away Malik neighbors? Oh, that's the same one. My bad. See, when Nico gets dinged up and misses another game or two, will it help Marvin from my guy, Jack Boyce? You know, that's a very good point. Um, because he would, you know, theoretically step in. And yeah, Nico gets dinged. So it's a good point to make. So, uh, yeah, I would say yes, Jack. Absolutely. I would see the next one here. Uh, I think that's the same one. My bad. I was just clicking all them. Uh, let's see. Oh, sorry. Oh, go ahead. Will AJ will AJ Brown be back? Let's go now. Yeah. It's right around the corner, guys. So if you're, um, yeah, get prepared for this one. Um, we did, you know, it's been a while since we talked about it with Deepak, but he, you know, there will be some regression when he comes in because there's got to be a ramp up to a normal workload. But given the way that Drake May is looking, feel optimistic. They did say that Nick that AJB would be back very soon. So it seems like it's right around the corner, potentially this week. So keep your eye on it. Let's see, uh, who, what do I do with Jalen Hertz and a eight manly drop T laws on the waiver wire from Michael. Oh, I have much rather start Trevor. I mean, he's been ranked above him. So yeah, I know you're probably optimistic because Jalen has the rushing upside and whatnot. No, yeah, I would start Trevor all day, every day. But it would be aware. There's a by week coming up right around the corner. Yes. Yeah. Trevor Lawrence, um, scored nine rushing touchdowns last year too. Yes. As it got on that horse this year, but it's in there. Uh, let's see two more. Who can I target to try to move Waddle and Loveland as a package? That's a, that's a by-low package right now. It is. That's, uh, maybe a Matthew Golden. That could theoretically be, yeah, just I feel like that one would be interesting that someone would be willing to flip value Waddle more at the very least and you throw a Loveland. I could see it. Yeah. Maybe if they have a decent tight end, you bring, you drag whoever they're starting tight end is back in that deal as well, something like that. So, uh, yeah. Okay. Uh, good pull in the middle there. And then would you trade McCaffrey Lam likely and cha, uh, I'm sorry. Would you trade, get this up on the screen. Come on. Would you trade McCarthy, Lam and likely for chase, Jamar chase, chase Brown and trade beyond Henderson. Caffrey Lam. I don't think I would. I think I would keep McCaffrey Lam and likely. Yeah. I mean, likely he's getting like 12 targets a game right now. So, um, and McCaffrey is the man, like him and Chase kind of even out. I would rather have Lam over Chase Brown right now and Henderson's hurt. So I would stick with what you have there, John. So, uh, that is going to do it for us today. Key Points:
Marvin Harrison is being traded to the Texans, where he could find more consistent playing time and better utilization as a reliable wide receiver.
Several key injuries impacted teams, including Quinchon Judkins (ankle sprain), David Montgomery (groin), Traveon Henderson (high ankle), and Trey Harris (hamstring), all raising concerns about short- and long-term availability.
Drake May is back on track with strong performances, including a four-touchdown game, making him a reliable and trustworthy weekly fantasy option.
Jalen Warren remains the top performer in the Steelers’ offense, and splitting carries with Rico Dotto is seen as counterproductive due to Warren’s proven effectiveness and well-rounded skill set.
Damien Pierce is likely to remain the primary running back for the Eagles despite injuries, with limited options for depth in the backfield.
Chase Brown continues to underperform with inconsistent results, making him a poor value in fantasy leagues despite being the lead back.
Roman Wilson’s finger/wrist injury may limit his receiving upside for three weeks, though he is expected to return soon.
Caleb Williams and Devonte Smith are expected to return soon, potentially restoring offensive balance to teams that relied on them.
Summary:
FAQs
Quinshon Judkins sustained an injury that has him in a boot, likely a sprain on the same side as his prior ankle fracture dislocation. Given that recovery from such an injury takes about 12 months, he is unlikely to play soon and may miss multiple weeks.
David Montgomery's groin injury is likely to be a one- to two-week injury, with most players missing at least one week. While some may return in the same game, the data suggests he will miss at least one game and may not return to full form immediately.
Traveon Henderson's high ankle sprain could result in a two to three-week absence. While straight-line burst may be preserved, there is concern about production dips upon return due to the injury's impact on cutting and twisting motions.
The Eagles' running back corps is significantly impacted, with multiple players injured. The lack of depth and limited healthy options raises concerns about their ability to sustain a consistent ground game, especially with key players like Shipply and Devonte Golston sidelined.
The trade of Marvin Harrison to the Texans is seen as a smart move, offering a consistent wide receiver option. While he may play second fiddle to Nico Collins, he could provide stability and depth, especially in a more favorable offensive environment.
Chase Brown remains a low-value option with inconsistent performance and a lack of reliable floor. While he has occasionally scored touchdowns, the offense is relying more on Jamar Chase and T.J. Hopper, making a trade or cutting him a reasonable option for fantasy managers.
