Week 5 Fantasy Football RB & QB Rankings: Must-Starts, Risky Plays & Top Streamers (Ep. 2246)
64m 11s
The fantasy pros running back rankings for Week 5 highlight Chase Brown as a top-tier option due to a significant spike in touches following wide receiver injuries and a favorable matchup against the Dolphins, who rank poorly against running backs. Other standout performers include Cam Scataboo and Quincheon Jeddakins, both valued for consistent touches and strong efficiency. Kalmanungai and Manual Wilson are elevated due to recent explosive games, though concerns about workload sustainability and matchup volatility remain. Lower-tier backs like Amarie and Hampton face significant risks due to a broken offense and low floor, while Ollie Gordon shows promise in a tough Bengals game, proving his value as a flex option. The analysis emphasizes the importance of game script, injury impacts, and offensive line health when evaluating backfield depth. Overall, the rankings reflect a season of inconsistency, where volume and upside are key, and trust in a player’s workload must be balanced with matchup and injury risk. The episode also introduces Polymarket as a new prediction tool for fantasy fans, with a free $25 offer for new users.
This is an I heart podcast guaranteed human. Welcome into fantasy pros the fantasy football podcast. This is the running backs ranking episode terror Roberts here filling in one more time for Chris Welsh on the ranking shows this week. And of course, I've got Pat Fitzmorris and Andrew Erickson with me. So I will ask you guys how you're doing. I pat you know from a rankings perspective. I know you had a good week. So how you feeling? How you doing doing pretty well following up a really bad week in week three. So it felt good to get the taste of week three out of my mouth. Um, yeah, everything is going well so far. Always feels good to have done waivers for the week. That's always a chore on Tuesday. So here we are recording this on Wednesday. Feel like that major task has been put to bed, which is always nice. Yeah. That one is always a painful one, especially if you wait till last minute after all of your work and you're doing it at midnight. Yeah, I can maybe I was doing that test with this week. Yeah, possibly Erick said, how are you doing? Doing good, got a couple weddings coming up this weekend. My sister's getting married, one of my best friends is getting married. So a fun filled weekend, but still got to get the ranks in, got to help people set their fantasy line up so that we're all good to go 9 30 AM kickoff in London. So be ready. Make sure you have auto pilot for those west coasters out there can be brutal. You don't want to wake up too surprised and active. Yeah, that is a fantastic reminder after Terry. But Lauren, last week I know it did get a lot of people unfortunately. So always be good to go on that one. Before we dive into the rankings did want to give some shout out here to our top accuracy. Rankers this week, John Hesterman, another nice week. Don Hesterman with dynasty league football. Then we have Jagger May in second with Roto wire and then Jeremy Popolars. I am so sorry. If I said your name wrong with FT and congratulations guys on the excellent rankings this week. And of course, you can find all of our expert rankings at fantasy pros dot com slash rankings. Let's go ahead and dive into our top 12 running backs for week five at the top. Of course, it is Demier Gibbs followed by B. John Roberts in it to Jonathan Taylor. Hold it down at three Kyron Williams with the big jump after the massive game. Coming in at number four and a match up against Buffalo. Then we've got Derek Henry, Chase Brown moving up in a good match up, a plus match up against Miami. Then we've got James Cook, Christian McCaffrey, Jalen Moore and moving on up as well as he continues to handle the workload. We'll see how this continues to go with him moving forward. Then we've got Javante Williams coming up the strong week. Ashton Genty and the Andre Swift holding it down there at number 12. Let's talk about one running back in this rankings area. Let's let's pull out Chase Brown to discuss because he's a very interesting one because we've got a interesting week. We're still waiting on entry news to come through with these bangles wide receivers and of course that meant that we saw a significant leap in receptions and he was excellent with them. 11 receptions, 11 targets, 71 yards. ECR has Chase Brown at RB six and you guys are right on point with that. When both have him at RB six fits, talk to us about Chase Brown. Yeah, it's nice that he has two pass to value. It could be running, could be catching the bond last week, not much going in the ground for the bangles. Nine carries for 10 yards for Chase Brown against a tough Jacksonville Rundee, but he did have those 11 catches to kind of salvage his fantasy day. Chase Brown is averaging 19.8 touches a game and he said at least 15 touches in every game so far. And yes, the bangles offensive outlook could be diminished if they have to play without one or both of Jamar Chase and T Higgins. Chase has the concussion T Higgins, the doctor injury, but their absence would likely mean that Chase Brown would probably get an all all you can eat buffet of touches this week against the dolphins. We're giving up the third most fantasy points per game to running backs. They've allowed seven touchdowns to running backs this season. So pretty good matchup for Chase Brown and you figure he will be prominently involved because of the wide receiver situation. Andrew, Erickson, how are you feeling about Chase Brown as well? Yeah, I think you're betting on the touchdown upside and the volume with the bangles running back. I think the dolphins run defense hasn't been so so bad. Again, fourth, high stuff right in the NFL. I talked about this last week with Aaron Jones, but he still showed when you get the volume, he had 20 carries for 94 yards against this defense, 4.7 yards per carry, even though the bangles can't run the football. And they may not even try to run the football. It's going to be the Chase Brown show. And I think that this is an opportunity for him to really step up, you know, with those receivers banged up, they can really build the offense around chase Brown. And I think it's really interesting when you look at the usage last week. Obviously, we saw the receiving pop off, but that's not just because he was catching passes out of the backfield 12 slot snaps for Chase Brown last week. That was a career high. So they are using him more as a slot receiver and not just a traditional running back. And we look at how you actually attack the dolphins. Third, worse defense against slot receivers this season. So it may not be in a very traditional way that we see a RB1 performance from Chase Browning, it's the dolphins, but I think based on the receiving, based on the touchdowns, he is going to get there one way or another. I love it. Do that shift to him lining up as a receiver, you know, operating like Christian McCaffrey. There are other ways that you can go about getting it because the receiving yards have been a little scant for him, unfortunately, for the first three weeks of the season, but big boost last week. And we should get a nice boost this week as well. Let's move on to our running backs 13 through 24. We've got Aaron Jones at the top still going strong with the absence of Jordan Mason, then we have Jeremiah Love against Detroit. That'll be an interesting one to see how that usage is with him playing through the injury. Then we have Basel Tutton, Quincheon, Jeddakins, a manual Wilson moving on up in the rankings after the big week. Cam Scataboo, then we've got Kalmanangayat 19, Braylin Allen as well stepping into lead back role, not massive usage last week, but did at least have a vast majority of the stats clear RB1. And we've got Bucky Irving, Ramandre Stevenson, Omari and Hampton, and then closing it out, moving into the top 24 is Decoray, Croskey, Merritt, probably an indication again of how scant things are unfortunately at running back this season. So let's talk about quite if this is like a really good range for us to key in on here. So let's pull out Quincheon, Jeddakins first and talk about him coming off with a very solid game, a little extra rest this week because they played Thursday night football, ECR has him an RB 16 fits. You're a little bit higher at RB 14, Ericsson, just slightly lower at RB 18. Ericsson, I'll start off with you apprehensions for Quincheon, Jeddakins this week. Are we seeing a repeat or should we be a little bit more cautious? I still think that he's a solid RB 2 play. So I haven't met RB 18. You saw him out produce an out carry. He and Sanders last week. Sanders really didn't get involved until the second half of that Browns game against Pittsburgh Steelers, Juddkins played 66% of the snaps, 17 carries and the big number that obviously we're excited about the most is the targets, right? Seven targets basically put up a career game in terms of the receiving usage, which was not the case in week three and then in week two, he did have a receiving boom. So the receiving I think is going to fluctuate a little bit with Quincheon, Jeddakins going to do something like let they do like receive Sanders kind of acting in that role at times. So it's going to depend on just the specific matchup and how the game kind of flows. One thing I just want to point out with Juddkins is the last two games he's been better, the Browns have also played at home. So I think that that matters significantly because when you have an offensive line, like the Browns, that is shaky and I would say still below average, because it's a lot of new pieces that are starting to gel and maybe they are starting to show signs of improvement. But now you're going on the road again to play the New York Jets. He was bad the first two weeks of the season because they were against two tougher run defenses on the road. Now, not saying that the Jets are tough for undefensed obviously from what we saw last week from them getting boatraced and trucksticked by the Chicago Bears. But the Chicago Bears kind of run them basically on everybody. So no run defense is really going to look good. Still, Jets are allowing 4.3 yards per carry. That's above the league average of 4.2. 1.6 of those yards come before contact, which is 9th most in the NFL. They've only hit ball carriers behind line of scrimmage on 27% of the carries, which is the third lowest rate in the NFL. But with Judkins, again, the whole sample size, he's averaging half a guard carry coming before contact. That is the fifth fewest despite being hit by line of scrimmage at 39% of his carries, which is below the league average or excuse me, right above the league average. He also has the third worst-ruching success rate. So I don't want to just wipe away everything from Judd to get to be seen the entire season from one game where yet he is looking like he's getting healthier coming off of his season ending injury from last year. So I do think that it's overall positive from what we saw on Thursday night. But still, he's a player and it browns offense that doesn't play nearly as well on the road as they do at home. 68 rushing yards per game at home. That's Kunchun Judkins career average. On the road, it's 44 yards per game. So that's the only thing that I'm really kind of just keeping expectations and check when it comes to Juddkins. Because I really think that Thursday night was a much better spot and even the week before against Carolina. Whereas I think playing on the road against New York Jets, maybe a little bit of a tougher spot for him overall for the offense. Yeah, I'd be curious what the home road splits are for Dishon Watson. Because again, you know, this offense ebbs and flows with him. So as long as he's pushing forward, puts the offense in a good position, specifically for Kunchun Judkins. But the question is, is what are we going to see on the road against the Jets? Pat, for you? Now, I know, you know, Erickson pointed out that everybody, you know, everybody struggles to stop that fantastic Chicago run defense. But is it match-up that's really carrying you forward here? Yeah, I mean, it's no worse than a neutral matchup.
As Erickson sort of pointed out, the bears maybe skewed what the Jets run defense looks like overall for the season, but I think it's at least a decent matchup. And I guess the one big drawback with Judkins, like the rushing efficiency is kind of never there on a weekly basis, like it's it's going to be under four yards per carry pretty much every week, but Judkins is averaging 18 and a half touches a game said 20 and 23 touches the last two weeks. Um, and Erickson said it, the 15 receptions this year, Judkins only had 26 receptions in 14 games last season. So this increased usage in the passing game kind of raises the floor. And he sort of needs that passing game usage because he is averaging three yards per carry. But, um, and I agree we can't count on five or six catches every week. It might just be two or three, but that still helps the cause. And I do just feel better about the Browns offense this year, like this is an actual grown up competence offense right now because the passing game is working to a degree. I don't think to Sean Watson is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, but he's been functional and he's got a really group good group of pass catchers. So that gives Judkins a better touchdown outlook than he had last year when the offense was really struggling. So if you're pretty good about him, I think he's just outside RB one range this week. Let's talk about another running back in this range slightly after when Sean Judkins coming in at RB 18 and ECR, cams, scatabo, hold it down. It's been a weird season for him because it's been a weird season for the giants, the injuries they've dealt with and whatnot. So he's not coming off of a massive game in terms of fantasy production, but the carries are there. That a minimum of 18 carries and three or four games this season. So ECR's got him at RB 18. You guys are Sam Winchdom right around that. Erickson at RB 17 and fits at RB 19 fits. Let's let's talk about cams, got a boot here. What should we expect from him out of this week? It's a good question because the first couple of weeks of the season, it seemed like this giants regime didn't really want to lean into him as a workhorse, which was the case last year before he got hurt. Then the last couple of weeks, it seems like they're back to work horse usage with him. So it's just kind of hard to tell. Of course, they had pretty positive game scripts the last couple of weeks in wins. So that probably helped cams, scataboos cause. I don't love the match up this week. He goes against the commanders who have a past funnel defense. The commanders have a lot of the fifth fewest rushing yards and sixth fewest rushing attempts this season. Pretty good run defense. So that's why I'm a little below consensus on him. Yeah, that makes sense. I know, you know, looking at Jonathan Taylor last week, we need those touchdowns. So he's got to have those touchdowns. And I wonder, we did see Naji Harris last week having an uptick there. So it gets a little bit shaky. So I think this is kind of the appropriate range for him. Erickson, how about you? Just slightly higher, but kind of same sentiment around cams, got a boot. We also saw Naji Harris fumble the ball. So I think there's a scenario where he may get shadow round here. And all the work goes to cam scataboo. The giants may mix up their RB two and make Devon Singletary active who's been active the last couple of weeks because it seemed like they're rotating this RB two slot when all paths lead to cam scataboo, right? Like, why are we mixing around who the RB two is when it's so clear that scataboos is the best running back on this team. And when he's healthy, he should be the focal point of the offense, alongside with the Malik neighbors and Isaiah likely in the passing game. So I'm just buying the workhorse role with cam scataboo, acknowledging that the commanders don't have the worst run defense in the NFL. This game could go any which way, right? It's a divisional game against the commanders who are bringing back Jaden Daniels. You could see the giants have a lead. You could see the giants can blown it. There are just so many different scenarios that this game could play out. But I feel confident that scataboos is going to get 20 touches no matter what happens. He has 23 and 19 of the last two games 18 and 16 the first two weeks still on the season 19 touches per game. And comparing him to someone like a judgekins where both kind of identified as bruiser running backs, Kim scataboos still 15 yards after contact per attempt. Juddkins is the eighth worst in that category. So we're still getting the bulldozing cam scataboos running over defensive players. And you know, this isn't necessarily built the last for scataboot for week five. I want to make sure that he's in the majority of my line. It's because of the three down skill set. He does similar to judgekins. His receiving has been kind of up and down this season. But when you have someone like James Winston, who's less up to take off and run, I do think that in a negative game script, you could see scataboos get more involved in the passing game like we did see a couple of weeks ago. So that's why I haven't one spot ahead of judgekins against not that I love this giant's offense way more than a Cleveland Brown's offense. I think that you're probably lukewarm about either of these, but any game that James Winston is the quarterback in anything can happen. Yeah, completely agree on that. When we'll go one spot back from ECR and it's interesting because we go from the guys in Quinshot, Juddkins and cam scataboos who are the clear workhorse backs, high level of touches. And then we go to someone who arguably has higher upside in Kalmanungai, but the touch guarantee is completely different popping off last week against the New York Jets. We talked about it. 30 carries massive game. ECR has him at RB 19. So big move up after the big game. And you guys are kind of in the same area. Erickson, you have him at RB 19 and then Fitz, you've got him at RB 21. Fitz, we'll start off with you. I mean, how do we handle these? We saw that, you know, Deandre Swift is what RB 12 and ECR now we've got Kalmanungai. So that's two bears running backs in the top 20. We know they're a run heavy team. How how do you handle this with Kalmanungai specifically in terms of trusting the workload? Yeah. So Deandre Swift fumbled and got benched last week. He'd also lost a goal line fumble against the Vikings in week two and what turned out to be a nine three loss. So I guess Ben Johnson was kind of fed up last week and Manungai was running well and Ben Johnson just stuck with them. So I don't think Deandre Swift is going to be dog housed this week. But maybe there's a little more risk with him than usual because another fumble probably puts him back on the bench, in which case, if you're playing Kalmanungai, you feel good about that. But look, Manungai has a thumb injury. There was a photo of his hand in his glove last week and it looked like maybe his thumb had been dislocated. But Ben Johnson has said the injury wasn't serious. Sounds like he fully expects. Manungai to play this week. But Manungai had 10 carries in each of the bears first three games, like exactly 10 carries all three. I would bet he's closer to 10 carries than 30 this week. And Manungai doesn't really deliver a lot of values. A pass catcher five catches for 39 yards, only five targets here. So I think it's going to be back to sort of one a one b with Swift Manungai. But I will say the rushing outlook does look pretty good against the Packers. I mean, the bears do lead the league in rushing yardage. They're averaging just under 200 rushing yards a game as a team. And they've got a backup quarterback Tyson Beijing starting in place of the injured Caleb Williams. So they're incentivized to run the ball. And the Packers just lost their best run defenders, you know, Tara, linebacker, Edger and Cooper to a torrent of killies. That's going to hurt. Like this is not the game where you want to be missing Edger and Cooper against a team that loves to run the ball. Yeah, it's such a good matchup. And it's interesting because me, you know, when you look at what Bucky Irving did against them last week, it won't show unfortunately because that the goal line touch went to Sean Tucker. We had the receptions going to Kenneth Gamel and to touch down. But yeah, if you add all that up, it was a good, successful week for the Bucks running backs. So it's a good matchup. Erickson, does matchup help you feel a little bit more comfortable with this knowing that we could get that regression back to 10 carries? I also care who the bears play because I kind of talked about this with the jets and their matchup going against the bears. They can run on anybody. Give me the 85 bears defense against this bears offense. And I might take this bear. I mean, I will go that far, but you get my point here where Ben Johnson is going to run on every single defense he plays. So if they have a starting linebacker out, great. More to the bears in terms of what kind of production you could expect. And one thing that I thought was really noticeable about this particular game is common on guy look like he was kind of taking over, even in the first half, for Swift got soft benched. He had 12 carries in the first half. So to fit this point, first three weeks, 10, 10, 10 carries on the dot, first half only 12 carries for 54 yards. So he had already in that particular matchup in week four had already exceeded his normal workload. And then obviously he got the 18 carries in second half because Swift fumbled. So it really was like the perfect run out for a common on guy in week four. But man, I'm thinking this might be closer to a 50 50 split, even if Swift is back in his normal role, because that's what we saw happening last week. And obviously got exacerbated a little bit because of the fumble. So my non guy too, it's so crazy. Like ranking him behind guys like judgekins and scataboo because they have the projected workloads. When I look at my non guy, I'm like, dude, this guy's so much better than both those dudes. Like, he looks so absolutely fantastic. And I didn't pull his advanced metrics where he ranks, but I guarantee it's all top five success, right? Top five explosive run, like he's going to be number one or in the top five, top 10. And most of those rushing categories because the dude has been absolutely blowing out. No nonsense runner hits the hole. It gets exactly guards he needs. And I mean, it's probably just because he's wearing number 25. But it's like, is that catchable Charles out there? Like that dude looks absolutely unstoppable. So again, if the thumb checks out, dude, I want to find a ways to get him into my lineup. But I'll just take, you know, whatever ends up happening with the volume. All common on guy is shown is that he can be an absolute monster. Look at players this year.
you're with multiple hundred brushing our games. Ken Walker, James Cook, B. Jean Robinson, Kyle Menunga. Yeah, yeah, you're preaching to the Kyle Menunga choir. He was in my starting lineup last week in my favorite dynasty team, possibly out of desperation, but hey, it worked out. Somebody else who worked out last week, we'll talk about a manual Wilson. He has actually moved up. Once we, you know, decided, you know, prior to this, you know, the, the running backs we were going to talk about, a manual Wilson actually moved up as we slept last night, significantly. He is up to RB 17 in fantasy pros, ECR, which means that because he is risen, fits in Ericsson are just a little bit lower. Fits has him at RB 20, Ericsson at RB 21 coming off the big week. We'll still probably have to, you know, ensure that we are not getting Zach Charbonne back this week, but it doesn't particularly look like it and what workload, but he really have in a first game back. So it is the manual Wilson show in a match up with San Francisco. Fits, talk to us about a manual Wilson. I think we can feel pretty good about the volume outlook for him. After the 21 carry day last week against the chargers, three catches for 39 yards and a touch on four targets. That was kind of a pleasant surprise George Hullani, only one target. So unexpected for a manual Wilson to play a bigger role in the passing game than Hullani, but it was a very run friendly game script for the Seahawks last week. They scored the go ahead, touched down against the chargers five minutes into the game, led the rest of the way. They were able to run the ball. I don't know if they get as run friendly a game script this week against the 49ers who can obviously deliver a bit heavier punch than the chargers can, but we know Wilson's going to get a big percentage of the running back touches again. So the 49ers defense also a little banged up up front. I can't quite get to mid range running back to, which is where he is in ECR, but I think you're probably starting a manual Wilson in most cases this week. Yes, a manual Wilson, our former packer coming through. This is what I thought it should have been from the jump. I'm not sure why we kept experimenting with with not to die in price. He deserved it, but with George Hullani, as a goal line back and trying to early downwork it just it wasn't it. So this is this is the direction that it should be until we get Zach Charbonne back. How comfortable are you feeling with this matchup this week? I feel the same way that Fitz does where I'm not trying to get out over my skis on a manual Wilson because there's a game script where he could get totally nuked in terms of what Seattle does offensively. And if you look at where was he in the commander's matchup. Jerry Price got knocked out of the game pretty early. He was RB 62 on the week because it was a game where the Seahawks were trailing. It was more back and forth where they weren't just controlling it because the week before against the Cardinals, Wilson had another big game. So I did feel like it was weird last week how low Wilson was ranked, even though we knew that Jerry Price was not going to play. And now I feel like maybe we're overcompensating for one. Now he's just the locked and loaded bell cow. He's going to see every single touch 25 official opportunities last week, 76% of the 33 running back opportunities from the Seattle Seahawks. So you feel good about that as an RB 2. But if the 49ers jump out 10 nothing, are we going to see Wilson involved as much in the passing game? I believe he ran less routes than George Hollande did. So although he was hyper targeted three or four targets, he ripped off that big reception. You obviously caught a receiving touchdown. Is that really sustainable? Again, he had two carries of 15 yards. That was 30 of his 81 yards total. The other 19 carries 51 yards. That was 2.7 yards per carry. So going back to the comparison of him and Judkins and Skatibu versus a guy like Manungai where Wilson's probably not going to win you the week with efficiency again, 3.9 yards per carry along the 15 yards. And he has to get the volume. And will that be as easy to attain in a more back and forth match against the Death Star offense like the San Francisco 49ers? So that's the only pause I'll push on in Wilson where don't go too aggressive trying to get him into your linus. But based on the fact that we have two teams on by two running backs like Chuba Hubbard and Kenneth Walker, you're still probably going to be starting Wilson in most cases. Yeah, I got completely agree on that one. We feel comfortable with him as an RB 2. But you just need to rely on the guys that have brought us here in terms of game script team environment and just being just a little bit cautious because this game could go another direction. We got one more running back that we're going to talk about in this area and it is a heavily debated one. But before we do that, I need to tell you guys about this new prediction market called Polymarket. It's a stock exchange for sports buying in and selling out on your terms when your team goes down to 20%. You can buy in and sell it off at 40% when they come back to double your money. That's Fp, POD to get $25 free after you deposit just $10. All right, let's talk about one more running back in this area. Amarie and Hampton, this is an interesting one that has been rapidly moving up ECR. And I kind of get it. But I want to hear the arguments for both you, Fitz and Ericsson because you guys are lower than consensus on this one. So Amarie and Hampton, ECR right now, RB 23, Ericsson, you have him at RB 27 and then fits at RB 31. Ericsson, what is the, well, we know the apprehension here, but talk us through the apprehension with Amarie and Hampton. He plays on a bad offense, but it's probably going to play without it's two starting tackles, Joe, all injured with a neck. Roshan Slater is already been ruled out. I believe with a high ankle sprain. So an offense that could barely get off the ground. This is the classic guy poking the thing that's dead with the stick is it's dead. It's dead already. Like this Charter's offense has nothing left in the tank facing the Denver Broncos this week. Even though they're at home, we know there's going to be no Charter's fans at that game. So I don't understand why you can have any confidence playing on manhand. Yeah, score last week, but that's really it. He was out snapped out, carried out touched by key in Mitchell last week. So to me, Hampton is just a classic touchdowner bus type of play. And if he scores, you're like, great, sick. I love it. But if he doesn't score, then he's going to be a total zero for you in your line for the most part. So yeah, that's really my take on a manhand that I don't know what else there really is to add fits. Yeah, I it's funny because when I checked the rankings Tuesday afternoon, I saw that I was on consensus with him. I initially had a Marbi 25 ECR was at RB 25. Then I thought more about it. And I just decided that was too high and dropped him to RB 31. I just looked at the five or so guys, five six guys behind him. It's said, no, you know what? I would play all these guys. I had a Vomarian Hampton guys like Will Shipley. And who else was on that? Some other situation. I think a manual Wilson might have been a guy moved up ahead of him. Or maybe I already had Wilson there. Alvin Camera was one. So Erickson said it. I mean, the middle of this offensive line was awful as it was last year. And now they just lost their tackles again. So the offensive lines going to be terrible for an offensive was totally dysfunctional anyway. Yeah, it's a backfield by committee. Last week, it was 26 snaps for Keaton Mitchell, 25 each for O'Marion Hampton and Kamani Vidal. And Mitchell led the backfield and touches with 15. Broncos' run defense hasn't been great statistically, but they've faced some really good running backs. Kenneth Walker, Basel Tutton, Kyron Williams, Christian McCaffrey. Chargers do actually rank ninth in rushing yardage, which is a surprise to me, but a committee backfield. And they ranked ninth in rushing yardage with those two tackles. Now they don't have those guys. So I just don't want to play O'Marion Hampton this week. It is touchdown or bossed, but the floor is really low if he does not get it in the end zone. Yeah, I'm kind of right in between you guys and ECR for the same reason. It's a weird situation because yes, Denver is typically a better matchup on the ground. But the problem is also, is that I wonder, we've got the Pat Cirtan injury. So technically speaking, they might have to attack through the air, especially if they're going to be playing from behind, which I would anticipate, they will be playing from behind on this one. So Denver being a better attack on the ground is because they're in these competitive games where you can't because they're playing these great teams, as you mentioned, these great running backs. It might be a little bit different of a situation with O'Marion Hampton. So that is a good one to keep in mind. It's a touchdown or bossed situation, at least the opportunity for a touchdown still exists. He still somewhat has the goal line priority there. So there's hope on that. And so I understand why he's up in ECR, but it definitely is one of the riskier situations compared to more of our higher volume guys that you guys have ranked ahead. As there has there ever been a more obvious first half under than the average in the Broncos game, where we're going to look up and it's going to be three to nothing, because the Broncos can't score on the first half. They have one touchdown in the first half this season. And the Chargers can't score in four quarters. So this is a matchup before this season that we would have been excited about. Now it's going to be like watching paint dry. Who's going to go into this game in LA, right?
They're they're jaded and they're down as fans. Yeah, it's weird. And then I'm tainted because I've been watching 10,000 videos of bonics failing to pass over the middle and checking down. So yeah, it's just up in very interesting situation with these two teams and the areas that they're struggling at. Let's talk about RVs 25 through 36. It is an interesting range, but it's a required range that people need because of all the injuries that we have going on and some of our injury guys that are benefiting from increased volume fall into this range as well. So we've got David Montgomery coming in at 25. David Montgomery, please, to the sea, can you give us something that we've got RJ Harvey, Tony Pollard, Ollie Gordon moving on up in the rankings after showing as the RB one there in Miami in a difficult match up as well. Then we've got Alvin Camera, now not success on the ground, but success on check downs. We'll talk about this one as well. And we've got Travy on Henderson and RB 30, then JK Dobbins will shiply moving on up in the rankings with the injuries to say one Barclay and tank big speed. Then we have Tyler Algier after a strong week last week. Woody marks at 34, Keaton Mitchell still hanging around at 35 and Blake Korum. I'm moving down a little bit after the continued dominance of Kyron Williams. Korum closing it out at RB 36. All right, we're going to pull out a few guys in this area and it's the ones that you want to know about the most. We're not messing around with the with the knowns of the JK Dobbins and whatnot. No, we're attacking the ones that you've recently added on waivers. I've got question marks about whether you can trust them after last week. Alvin Camera is one we'll start off with at RB 29. And Erickson, you guys are a little split on this one a little bit, but slightly above consensus. Erickson, you are at RB 25 fits. You're at RB 28. Erickson, are you are you feeling the love with Camera? Let me guess, it might be pass volume that is pushing this one forward. Yeah, to be honest, this entire range of running backs, I really had trouble ranking because I don't like any of them in any other spots in particular, whether it's because they're in committees, whether it's because they have brutal matchups, whether it's because I just don't know how good they are or how much confidence I have, how much juice they have. I mean, Camera on that wheel route, like five years ago, that dude is walking in the end zone untouched, and in this current state of Alvin Camera, I mean, that linebacker was all over him like, you know, white on rice, dude. Like, like, so completely Camera is not in his prime anymore, and that's very apparent by, you know, the way that he looks in place. But he is getting the usage terms of a receiver, you know, caught five of his seven targets for 35 yards. So you're not expecting him to get any type of rushing production. That was not the expectation against a good Falcons front seven, and there's no way that should be the expectation against the Minnesota Vikings who are up there with CLC ox as the best overall defense in the NFL. Like Brian Flores is just doing amazing work with that defensive unit and making a life miserable for opposing offenses. I don't like the Saints offense in this spot coming off a poor performance against the Falcons. On a short week, I know they're back at home, I believe, but even so, like, this is a really tall task for Tyler Schrock and company. And if Camera is not going to be ripping off big plays, and he has to get there by like chugging along, it's got to be catching passes out of the backfield. And you know, you can get pass interference call. He'll get in the ball at the one yard line, and you just cross your fingers. They don't give the ball to CJ Donaldson because that has happened at times before with short third and one. And if the goal line, they didn't do that last week. So one thing to just point out as Camera did have his knee checked out during the Monday night game, probably going to be in the age of report this week is probably not going to practice a lot this week because he's a veteran. But if he's shooting up and he's out there, I do think that he gets high value opportunities. So even if it's another lackluster rushing day, I think that he could still score touchdown like he did to rushing touchdowns last week on Monday night. And then obviously involved in the passing game because I got to imagine that Kellyn Moore is going to try to at least get Tyler shocked to the blitzest common date. You got to check them all down. You got to get rid of it roster, you're going to get intercepted. So having those easy outlets like Camera out of the backfield, I think will probably part of the game plan this week. Yeah, has to because that offensive line is not checking out whatsoever struggling so badly. Fits, how are you feeling about Alvin Camera this week? I kind of see it the same way you guys do that Erickson does. Saints ranked 27th in rushing art age Camera's averaging three yards of carry only average 3.6 yards of carry last year anything he gets in this game against Minnesota is probably going to have to come through the air. And maybe Camera does get a ton of receptions against the Vikings. It's not hard to imagine Tyler shocked throwing a bunch of quick passes to Camera's away of coping with all the Vikings blitzes. But you would think that running backs would catch a lot of passes against the Vikings for that reason as check downs against blitzes. They've only allowed 13 catches for 91 yards to running backs. This year that's the fifth fewest receptions allowed to running backs eighth fewest receiving yards. So they have not been a great matchup for pass catching running backs. I just I think it's kind of a bleak outlook overall for Camera. Maybe you get kind of a scammy PPR game where he has seven catches for like 30 yards. That's probably your best hope of getting like a 15 point game out of Alvin Camera. That or or he falls into the end zone a couple more times that that we hope for that he falls in a couple more times because guys and that dynasty league where I mentioned I have to start through running backs. I will be starting Camera this week again. So hopefully that falls through for me specifically. Let's talk about another one of those sketchy running backs that actually did pull through. There was a lot of criticism on Ollie Gordon and whether or not he would step up and be the lead back. A lot of Jalen right shippers, but it was Ollie Gordon that came through in a difficult matchup as well. So that was good to see. He is at RB 28 and ECR right above Alvin Camera and you guys are split on this one. Erickson you were feeling Ollie Gordon at RB 24 fits just a little bit more skeptical at RB 29. Erickson, start us off with Ollie Gordon. Again, I hate all the running backs in this range. So saying I feel good about Ollie Gordon is more about the all the running backs and how I feel about them because I could easily move him down 10 spots and be like no biggie also could move him up. I think it's like the Bengals matchup that at least gives me some encouragement about him being able to potentially I mean he's had two good weeks for fantasy right? Like there's no you can't take that away from Ollie Gordon like he's shown up when he's been given opportunities and has not been in the most sexy way. Again, he would have been a bus last week. We hadn't ripped off that one big play against the Minnesota Vikings and you have to the jail right stands were right. Again, I write I ranked right above Gordon and when he started I was like sick. I was right and then both guys looked like they were going to be a total bust in the first half because basically none of them did anything right actually out carried Ollie Gordon in the first half where I have four carries for 10 yards. Ollie Gordon had two carries for 15 yards of bail so I had two targets. So they each split with four opportunities of peace and then the second half Gordon kind of took the lead had seven of his nine carries in the second half with obviously the big run play finishing 85 yards and a touchdown. So right only had one second half carry third and two that lost three yards. So right was coming off his injury. So there is a chance that he does get more involved. But I don't know I mean if I'm Jeff Halfley I've seen two games of Ollie Gordon. He's like pretty decent. It's like I feel like that would be the guy that they just continue to lean on in a match up against the Cincinnati Bengals that teams can run on. So that's really it. I got and I got again I also will any pushback I will take happily because it's also Dolphins offense. So like there's there's no like you're never going to feel secure in any way about like well you got to fire up his dolphins running back lock them loaded top 20 guy. So yeah. Yeah it's it's a weird one. I mean it's tough to judge. The Dolphins offense has looked slightly better in Malik in Malik Willis's defense. I made the subpar 100 yards that was that was bad. But there were a couple of situations where it should have come through in terms of some passes that would have had some volume. So it should have been just a little bit better. And again we've got the Cincinnati team that we talked about before that is dealing with the injuries of their wide receiver. So will this be more of an opportunity for them to keep a slightly closer game? I don't know we'll see. But you're right it's just this weird range where all of these guys are continually getting pushed up here. It's with Ollie with Ollie Gordon. How comfortable are you feeling? Not super comfortable. I mean I do have a ranked lower than Erickson but if you're one of the people who dropped a ton of fab money on Ollie Gordon. Like I did in the fantasy pros company league last week you're probably forced to start him again as I will be this week. And Ollie Gordon did help me to my third straight win after Tara Roberts had left me battered and bloodied with a blowout victory over me in week one. So I've won three straight now. Yeah. Ollie Gordon is probably going to be the lead guy. Although I think it's still kind of a fluid situation. And like Erickson said it was Jalen Wright who got the start last week. It's possible that this week Jalen Wright gets a little more run just because I think it's easier to run outside against the Bengals because of Dexter Lawrence in the middle. And maybe that means a little more Jalen Wright and a little less Ollie Gordon. But Gordon did wind up out snapping Jalen Wright 22 to 12 last week outtouching him 11 to five. And yeah Gordon had that 53 yard run on Miami's first series of the second half. It was pretty much all Ollie Gordon after that. So I think it's he's going to be at least one A if not the lead guy until it's not working. And maybe that happens right away. But yeah, I think
he is the any port and a storm guy. And if you picked up Olly Gordon, you were probably in a storm at running back and you're probably forced to start him again this week, just like you were last week. Yeah, continue to roll on if that went. But the question is, are we forced to start? We'll shiftly this week. Are you guys actually going to recommend it? Are we doing it? ECR has him at RB 32. You guys just slightly higher. Not a ton. Fits at RB 30, Ericsson at RB 31. Again, it's in word one of these weird ranges. My Clemson boy talked to me about him. Are you trusting him as a three-down back or do you think that Damian Pierce is going to arise and awaken and take some of that workload? Ericsson, how are you approaching? I mean, we're going to get Jane Blue, probably the reliable running back that's on the Ecos roster. Is he going to get the nod and the sign up from the practice squad? I think that's the bet, right? And we saw it play out last week where the Olly Gordon where, okay, even if he's going to get the workload, it's a terrible matchup. It took one big play and a touchdown and like, boom, he ended up paying off. So that's really the case of when you do get volume, you do have opportunities where even in terrible matchups, like you have here, I mean, the Jackson Jack was that what gave up 11 rushing yards last week to chase Brown, just like absolutely brutal. And you have the offense of the Eagles that was already super dysfunctional and already super broken. And now they don't have Lane Johnson for the rest of the season after he announced his retirement and the splits of how bad this team is. Over the years since Lane Johnson basically has been with the Eagles, it's just this team goes from top five offense overall to a bottom five offense and just an overall efficiency. I believe Bill Barnwell tweeted something out about just the total QBR with all their quarterbacks going back to Carson wins and Jalen Hertz and whoever's been under center, it's just been a really bad for the offense. So that all being said, well, Shipley, maybe get you the ship this week because he's going to probably play a lot. They trust him. And I think that's a big pack factor because they trust him in pass protection, which means he's going to have opportunities catch pass out of the backfield. Well, Jalen Hertz throw to the running back. He doesn't usually. Who else would I throw on the ball to because they don't have Dallas got it. They don't have to want to Smith. Wicks. My kind of lemon is going to be another derriest Cooper game. Maybe look, when Nick Sireani first drafted Will Shipley, he talked about how he reminded him of Danny Woodhead. So like, I just got to imagine they got to do something different in this offense. And I think maybe that's just why don't we just throw the ball to the running back? We saw that work last week. The chase Brown, right? Chase Brown had a really productive game against this defense because you can't run on them. So that Eagles already couldn't run the ball anyway. They're down to the third stroke running back. Let's just use Shipley out of the backfield. Have him catch a bunch of passes. Jags, defense, second most yards and targets to running back to the season. Now, obviously, that's heavily weighed by the chase Brown eruption in the receiving game last week. Before that was pretty modest production, but still like giving up a handful of catches to the run if they faced every single week. And at least Will Shipley is game script proof, where if the Eagles are down by a lot, he's going to be out there catching dumb off passes potentially. And if for some reason they show up and have a lead on the Jack Stone Jaguars in London, you could see Will Shipley also getting some goal line opportunities. So I will say too, and his one biggest start back in week 18 of his rookie season. He had four catches for 35 yards on a 53% snap rate. So I think maybe that's like the floor you could expect from Will Shipley. If he's playing 50% plus of the snaps, with he's splitting with Damien Pierce or Jayden Bluer, something along those lines. So tentatively optimistic for a guy like Will Shipley, who I actually like a lot coming out of Clemson. He was someone I drafted a lot of when he was a rookie, just based on Cyclone Barkley's injury history. Obviously, it hasn't panned out. But hey, man, you're never wrong, just early sometimes. Yeah, exactly. Could be a future chase, Brad. I don't know if I'll take it that far. But you make a great point. This is not a check down friendly team. They haven't been operating that way for years now, regardless of who's been running back since the arrival of Cyclone Barkley. And even when we have backups come into play, but they might have to be forced to change. So it'd be a test of what are they going to do? Or can they adjust their vision to best attack this defense? Pat, how are you feeling about Will Shipley this way? Kind of the same way you guys are. It's just you would think that they have to get him involved as a pass catcher because it's hard to run on the Jaguars. It's a really good run defense. And I don't know if Jane Blue or Damien Pierce are going to cut into the rushing load for Will Shipley, but I don't think we're counting on a lot from him on the ground anyways, probably going to have to do it as a pass catcher. And hopefully they changed the MO a little bit because they have to advance the ball somehow, and they are running out of players who can do it. And so, you know, Shipley is a good athlete. He was a former high school track and lacrosse star. It seems like maybe some dump-offs might be in his future this week. Let's talk about some deeper plays before we close things out, because yes, sometimes with all of the injuries that are going on you do have to go a little bit further back and ranking for some spot starts. Erickson, talk to us about Martian Lloyd. I trust him the most right now in this Packers Backfield because Chris Brooks is injured with an ankle and Caleb Johnson fumbled again. So that's my default makes Martian Lloyd the guy I feel the best about coming off a season high in snaps last week at 55%. He had 12 of the 25 opportunities for the Green Bay Packers. So right around 50% 48% and he's showed out a little bit more in the passing game. Five targets, five catches. And over the last two games, he has six red zone opportunities. So given the matchup against Chicago Bears who maybe they have turned a new leaf, turned the corner and are this elite unit. I think it's more about the game scripts and teams that they've played than them being some juggernaut on defense. So I do think the Packers can at least move the football on them, even if it's not on the ground again, going back to it's funny. It seems like every bad running back situation is facing a tough run defense or is it a bad running back situation where it's like, right, well, they're going to do terrible efficiency wise, but touchdowns and targets. That's how he score fantasy points. And that's the path I see from Martian Lloyd. If you can carry over this type of usage from week four against the Buccaneers where he is playing more snaps and they're trusting him on third down. So that's the thing for me that's a signal that, okay, the team is trusting him to play on third down in pass production. Then I can at least feel like I can trust him as a flex play against the Bears. Yeah, the perfect point there. Do we trust him? Not necessarily, but it's about what the team and the coaching staff trust. Pat, who is your deeper play? It's Jalen right. I wouldn't feel great about it, but I think you could flex him in a pinch just because I do think the Dolphins backfield is still kind of a fluid situation. And as I mentioned before, they might need to go more outside than inside against a Bengals Rundee fence that has Dexter Lawrence clogging up the middle. That's a very good point on that one. Guys, are you ready to play a fun game of a wide variety of streaming options this week again at quarterback fits? It's been wild at quarterback, huh? It really has been. It's a been a bumpy ride. We thought Drake Mary was terrible until he wasn't in week four. There are some other guys who maybe have looked better than maybe they are. Maybe Tyler Shock got exposed a little bit in week four. So yeah, it's it's trickier. It seems like this year to do quarterback rankings every week than it has been in years past. Yeah, Erickson, I don't know about you, but I got burned on quarterback rankings last week because I too had been giving Drake May all kinds of excuses and finally said, you know what? Back to the rankings. Back you go. And of course, he just pulls through. So quarterback rankings for you. Yeah, quarterback rankings have not been great for me. So I'm kind of blowing up my process a little bit because they just have been so atrocious in terms of where I finish accuracy wise. So I'm ready to spice things up. There we go. Spice in it up. And for sure, it is going to be because I am looking at the quarterbacks that we're about to talk about. And these are the ones that you guys have big questions about. And let's talk through our top 12 here. We'll run through the list real quick. Of course, Josh Allen at top because he is Josh Allen followed by Matt Stafford against Josh Allen this week. Buffalo. So fun match up there. Then we've got Jared Gough strong, holding strong and a good match up against Arizona followed by Joe Burrow without the potential of the wide receivers there. So that'll be interesting. Jack Prescott at number five to Lawrence at six. Then Jacobi percent Drake may write back into the top 10 of rankings followed by Brock party. Jordan love Jane Daniels and Tyler Schuck still holding on in a match up against Minnesota at quarterback 12. We'll talk about him in a second. Let's start things off talking about Jacobi percent. Let's go positive here because it was it was not a positive end to the game. Unfortunately for him against the giants. Interceptions turnovers pick six. It was nasty. But we have a match up against Detroit. It heals everything. So ECR has him at QB seven and you guys are split finally. We have done this whole set of rankings shows and you guys have been pretty much online and everything. But finally, we've got some split choices here. So the quarterbacks are going to be the real fun ones for us. Erickson, you are feeling Jacobi percent at wide receiver three fifths. You're remaining slightly more further back, but still in at QB eight. Erickson, since you are the high man, talk to us about Jacobi percent Detroit lines at home in the dome. It's not forward feel, but it's pretty close for Arizona. So Jacobi percent obviously coming off a lackluster performance last week. But some elements at play playing on the road against the New York Giants. This often. This is just filled with playmakers and the Detroit lines defense cannot stop anybody. So I'm really buying into Jacoby Preset having a monster game here is the number one streaming quarterback this week. And I think he can be a top three guy. We saw him last year put up gaudy type of numbers. Even if some of it came in garbage time, still counts. So even if they're getting blown up by the Detroit lines in the first half of this game, I still visit a scenario where you see Joe Kobe Preset drop back to throw 50 or 60 times in this matchup. I'm excited about where's Michael Wilson in the ECR ranks top 10 receiver. Tramack Bride has there ever been a more smash spot for the best tight end arguably in the NFL than against the Detroit line. So how does Tramack Bride become the tight end one? How does Michael Wilson become a top 10 fantasy wide receiver? And Jacoby Preset also not being that conversation as like a top five guy. So one of these rankings has to be wrong. And I think that Jacoby Preset needs to be ranked higher because specifically just looking at Tramack Bride, I don't know how the lines are going to stop this guy. If he's going to catch multiple touchdowns in this game, you look at the lines this year. They have played cover three on 41% of the passing plays that's fifth highest in the NFL. They bride 28% target share against cover three, the fourth highest among all tight ends, especially after break. Bride got chewed out by that ref. Dude, guys out for the lead in this matchup against the Detroit lines. He's going to have a monster game. And if he has a monster game, Michael Wilson has a monster game, then by default, unless Jacoby Preset gets hurt and it's Carson Beck or someone else in their garden minchews in there. And I think that Jacoby Preset's going to have a monster game. Yes. Completely agree on that one. The Tramack Bride and his suspended ref, we're entering a new era here of punishment for the refs. Fins, you're slightly lower, but I mean, still top 10. So yeah, I mean, just talk to us about why we're looking at Jacoby Preset as a streaming option this week. Because the lines are giving up 28.4 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks and Jacoby Preset is averaging 38 pass attempts of game. The efficiency for Preset has not been great and I'm a little concerned that now he's going to have to play without Paris Johnson is left tackle, tourist biceps out for the season. Really good blindside protector. This is that make an already somewhat inefficient Arizona passing game, you know, maybe make it a little more inefficient. So the matchup couldn't be better, but I don't know that the Cardinal's offensive line is going to be able to keep Jacoby Preset clean for this entire game. So I think you're probably starting and I know I picked him up in a league to stream him this week. Erickson, you would start Jacoby Preset over Joe Burl without his receivers. Yeah. Yeah. I like both. I've seen too many times better teams go down to Miami and lay it turned and lay it absolutely before, especially. So I think that Jacoby just feels really safe. It feels weird to say that about a Cardinals quarterback, but if he's going to throw 45 times against the line's defense, I want to bet on that. Yeah. And then looking at the burrow thing, it's kind of like I'm torn because as we were looking at which Rick May, it's like, okay, we don't want to punish our superstars too much. But also it's not the past friendliest environment because this could be just a heavy lean on the ground game situation and it's not going to take much to beat Miami. So we've seen a lot of just mediocre-ish performances against Miami, despite the defense not being awesome. So that was a good little discussion point there. I like that. We're going to go on to one more of the streaming quarterbacks who went into super trust territory last week and then let us down a little bit. But to be fair, the volume was still there. It's Tyler Schuck coming in at QB12 and you guys are lower. You're not feeling the Tyler Schuck love. Tyler Schuck nation is going to be disappointed in both of you fits. You've got him at QB15, Erickson at QB24. Oh, man. I know the matchup is bad, but Erickson, no love for Tyler Schuck anymore. No, not against my core as in this defense. A fewest points were going to allow to quarterback 11.5. So I don't care how many times Tyler Schuck draws back to throw. I think that he's really going to struggle in this particular matchup coming off a short week. I also don't know if he's going to have any lingering effects from that hand thing that he was dealing with on Monday night football where he was getting a lot of work on his hand. Either he like banged it up or I think Kellan Moore said after the game that it was swollen. So that's something that I'm also kind of trying to keep it back in my mind. Olave got a little bit banged up towards the end of the game as well. I just think that this is going to be a slap of reality in the face of the Saints offense that without their starting tackle, you saw the past protection really break down against the Atlanta Falcons. So I just think that this is a week where Tyler Schuck, you don't drop him because the volume is so good. Leads the NFL in passing attempts, but this is not the week to play Tyler Schuck. I heard this is a founding member of Team Tyler Schuck nation, but you are convincing may not to be too overzealous on this one. Fitz, just go ahead and continue to add on to that. Yeah. Someone on Twitter, and I wish I could remember who it was to give them proper credit, but they had a good line about the Monday night game against the Falcons, sort of showing people how the sausage is made with Tyler Schuck, meaning it's not always as pretty as the numbers would suggest. And I worry that it's not going to be pretty this week against the Vikings who, as Erickson mentioned, have allowed 11.5 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, fewest in the league. And yeah, I don't know if Crystal LaVay is going to be okay. Hopefully he is because he getting hurt in garbage time, be a bad look for the Saints. And yeah, I just, there are better times to lean in a Tyler Schuck. He even last year, like his very first start was against the Rams, and that was the only team he faced all season, well over his run as the starter, over the second half of the Saints season. That was the only team he faced that was top 10 in DVOA against the pass. And he kind of struggled in that game and didn't have any touch on passes, granted his first NFL start, then against a bunch of softer defenses. The rest of the way Tyler Schuck was surprisingly good. So I think you might be a little matchup sensitive, and this is not the matchup you want. Bad matchup indeed. Let's talk to somebody else who doesn't have a bad matchup, but it's returning from injury. We've got Jayden Daniels all the way up at QB 11 this week. You guys are feeling good about it, Erickson, a little bit more optimistic in his return. You've got him at QB seven fits, you're on par at QB 11 with ECR. We have only seen one full game from Jayden Daniels this season, but he's back. We'll have to see if we get Terry McCormack back, but regardless, he's a top 12 option this week. Erickson, how good are you feeling about Jayden Daniels in this return? So I actually updated my rankings, moving down to quarterback nine. So closer to where ECR has him, I think I was a little bit more bullish on him just going back to scrambling and running around and doing his thing, but is that a guarantee when he's coming off another injury to his elbow? He's going to be playing with the brace for the first time. How does that affect how he plays and operates this offense? Now, the giant's defense, I'm not necessarily looking at as this juggernaut. You can't, you can throw on these guys, you can run on these guys, and even though the giants have some talent at the pass rusher, they're actually 31st in pressure rate this season. So the compromise off the line for the commanders, Jayden Daniels is making a lot of plays with his legs. The one thing that does point to me the direction of maybe being a little bit less excited so the giants man coverage, 34% of their plays, it's the fifth highest rate of any team in the NFL, ninth lowest yards per drawback allowed, 54% completion rate, 10th lowest when a man coverage and Jayden Daniels has been blunt against man coverage, dating back to last year, 5.4 yards per attempt, 4th lowest month quarterbacks, completed just 46% of his passes, second lowest completion rate over that span against man coverage. So I think that I kind of want to wait and see a little bit with Jayden Daniels to see if he's still running around in mobile and I guess I'm willing to miss a week of Jayden Daniels looking good and looking clean versus starting him be like, he's not running at all. He's a statue back there. He's getting smashed by a giant's defensive line that maybe does put a little bit more pressure because they have some talent. I can say Commander's Office I'm blind that I don't necessarily love. So I don't know. What about you? Like, I'm not really sure exactly how I feel about Jayden Daniels. I'm I again, I want to just put him right back at the top because like Elite quarterback, he's back from his injury, good to go, but obviously you're lower on him than I am fit. So you're also kind of pressing a little bit of the pause button. Yeah. Just I want to think he's going to be the same dangerous dual run pass threats that he usually is. I mean, he's played basically a game and a half this year and has 100 rushing yards already. But yeah, what does it look like? Hopefully the elbow injury isn't going to curtail his willingness to run because that provides so much of Jayden Daniels value. But like you said, it might not be the best passing game matchup even though I don't think all that much of the giant secondary, but they do have some guys who can get over the after the quarterback, even without Brian Burns. So yeah, I'm kind of on the fence here. But to me, he's still in low end QB one territory. And if you had him, he was probably your starter. Maybe you picked up some streamer. Well, I guess you had to to play for him. I can't imagine that you would be starting any of the streamers. You might have picked up over Jayden Daniels this week. What about what a per set? Well, per set. Yes. exception. Yeah just because.
the matchup is so exquisite. I agree. I think that's actually the ideal like scenario. You have Daniels and you can you can you pick up a percent, play him, give you a week to see Daniels. Hope that he looks the part and then you can dump her set next week or do something along those lines. Yeah, but like some of the other guys who might have picked up it, it could have been like Kirk Cousins. Yeah. No, I mean, you're you're still starting Daniels over guys like I would agree with that as well. Yeah. Let's talk about another streaming option. Someone who is not in the top 12, but I was happy to see both of your rankings because this was one of my recommended streaming options if you could get him. And I was surprised that QB 18 for CJ Stroud was a little bit lower than I would have expected. Erickson, you've got him at QB 11 fits at QB 15. I think he's a fine mid-range QB 2 floor with a higher upside given the matchup of Tennessee. So yeah, Erickson, you're a little higher. Talk to us about Jacobi Stroud. I mean, sorry, CJ Stroud. Yeah, CJ Stroud, again, we were Jacobi Pilled on this show because you're going to have a monster game. CJ Stroud coming off his best game easily of the season and one of the best games of his career. Now, up against the Dallas Cowboys defense, maybe not saying much, but getting Nico Collins matters so much for this passing game. Like, in this offense in general, because they can't function without Nico Collins in line up. I like how they're using Jalen Nollmore. Guys, I mean, how it's so obvious to just get this guy on the field and how much juice he has to offer to this passing game. So when the Texans actually put their best players on the field, go figure they are able to move the football and score 30 points per game against the Tennessee Titans. I think this is another matchup where CJ Stroud can find success, not afraid of this Titan's defense. And I think that there are team that you'd rather pick on through the air than on the ground. Texans can't run the football anyway, whether it's Montgomery, whether it's Woody Marks, it doesn't matter. Just put the ball and CJ Stroud's hands, let him throw it. They don't have guys that can stick with Nico Collins. Jalen Noll is starting to have a little break out here. They have Dolan Sholtz underneath. That's a tight end option. Stroud has gone over 300 yards in two of his four games this season, kind of quietly five touchdowns with no picks. So I think that CJ Stroud is in an interesting situation where yeah, flying under the radar took advantage of Dallas last week. And I think it makes sense for the Texans to be like, Hey, we're on four. We got to get going here at some point. Let's get our quarterback going in a matchup that he can win. So I think that he's a low in fantasy cubie on this week. Yeah, perhaps people think they'll try to get the run game back on track, but they can't afford to try. They need to go to the best option. And the best option is through the air to Nico Collins. Fitz, how are you feeling about CJ Stroud this week? Pretty good. Like Erickson, I do think he's in interesting possibility for starting this week. CJ Stroud is sixth in pass attempts and sixth in passing yardage. And that is without having had Nico Collins for a good chunk of this season so far. And Nico looked amazing when he came back last week. So yeah, Erickson said it Houston cannot run the ball again. So I think they're going to be imbalanced offensively. And they're going to skew towards the pass. And so far it's worked out for CJ Stroud. I think he's a good play this week. Podcast Summary
Key Points:
Chase Brown is projected as a top-6 running back due to a surge in touches after wide receiver injuries, with a strong matchup against the Dolphins, who allow the most fantasy points to RBs.
The Dolphins’ run defense is weak, especially against slot receivers, and Chase Brown’s increased usage as a pass-catcher and his high touch volume make him a high-upside option.
Quincheon Jeddakins is a solid RB2 with improved usage and receiving targets, though his road performance against the Jets is a concern due to the Browns’ offensive inconsistency.
Cam Scataboo remains a reliable RB2 with consistent touches, high rushing efficiency, and a strong workload, even against a tough Giants defense.
Kalmanungai shows explosive potential after a massive game against the Jets, but his workload is expected to return to a lower baseline, making him a high-risk, high-reward option.
Manual Wilson is viewed as a safe RB2 due to his high touch volume and a favorable matchup with the 49ers, though game script volatility presents a slight risk.
Amarie and Hampton is a high-risk, low-floor option due to a dysfunctional offense and lack of receiving opportunities, with minimal upside beyond a potential touchdown.
Ollie Gordon stepped up in a tough matchup against the Bengals, showing promise despite a fluid backfield, and may be a viable flex option due to his ability to produce in key moments.
Summary:

FAQs
Chase Brown is ranked as an RB6 by ECR and is considered a strong value due to a significant increase in targets and catches after the injuries to wide receivers Jamar Chase and T Higgins. He is expected to get a high volume of touches against the Dolphins, who have one of the worst run defenses in the league.
The Dolphins have allowed the most fantasy points per game to running backs and have given up seven touchdowns to RBs this season. With the absence of key wide receivers, Chase Brown is expected to receive a large share of offensive touches, making this matchup highly favorable for him.
Quincheon Jeddakins is ranked RB16 by ECR and is seen as a solid RB2 play. He saw a significant increase in targets last week and has improved performance against a weak run defense, though his road performance and the Browns' offensive struggles on the road are concerns.
Cam Scataboo is expected to see a high volume of touches (around 20) due to the Giants' offensive strategy and the team's need to rely on a workhorse back. Despite a tough matchup with the Commanders' run defense, his consistent performance and ability to gain yards after contact make him a reliable RB2 option.
Kalmanangai is ranked RB19 and has shown strong performance in previous games, including a 30-carry effort against the Jets. While he may see a reduced workload due to a potential return to a 10-carry baseline, the Bears' strong run-heavy offense and the loss of key defenders make this a potentially high-upside matchup.
Amarie and Hampton plays on a structurally weakened offense with multiple injuries to key linemen. The team is expected to struggle, and his floor is low—either a touchdown or zero. The matchup against the Denver Broncos, who are historically strong against running backs, adds significant risk to his fantasy value.
