Week 3 Waiver Wire: MUST ADD Players, Injury Replacements & Streamers (09/22 Fantasy Football Podcast)

This is Fantasy Football today from CBS Sports It's time to dominate your fantasy Lee Now you're some combination of Adam Dave Jamie and he We are into fantasy week three. Let's go. Hope we have some two and a you guys have any undefeated teams still several oh wow Amazing really that no All right, yeah, we're into week three. We've got I think the real question is how many winless teams do we have? Oh and I I got a couple one only I'm tanking both of my dinosaur leaves one I'm trying to take the other one I'm not I'm winless in both Yeah, and I've got one other redraft league where I've started oh and two that's it that's pretty good I think I have said out of 14 not bad maybe three winless Redraft teams. Yeah, it's no good. We got to get a win this week We got some quarterbacks coming back Michael Panic's junior Tyler Murray are coming back But we of course have more quarterbacks who are injured like Jackson Dart last night However with Jackson Dart with Caleb Williams. We don't have season ending injuries. We still don't know with Jade and Daniels We had a lot of running back injuries last week, which usually means a good waiver wire week However, these running back injuries might be very short term So it's a little bit of a tricky week when it comes to waiver wire priority Jamie What does it look like who are the top three players to get for week three? The top three for me are Jonah Coleman Bryce Young and Dalton Schultz. I think you're looking at There's an opportunity here. You said it. We may get JK Dobbins back in RJ Harvey back But what if we don't and Coleman looked good and his performance against Jackson was a really good run defense. I was glad that he was involved in the passing game If one of the two are out I still think that you can use Coleman as a flex kind of both are out then I think he's A must start running back even against the Rams Bryce Young has been awesome through the first two games this season But it's now seven of his last 10 games going back to last year over 20 fantasy points Again kind of coincides with Jalen Coker's emergence And then Dalton Schultz just coming off this amazing performance But it's now 22 targets in two games One of them without Nico Collins. We don't know if Collins is going to return and he did very well in two games against the Colts last year So uh those three Assuming that the Broncos backfield is depleted would all be must starts for me if again Coleman is the starter for Denver Jonah Coleman Bryce Young Dalton Schultz And you know if you if you add Coleman and then both Harvey and Dobbins play this week Are you gonna stick with him? You know just say this is a guy I want to have Because look, Dobbins is always hurt and maybe I just stays the third down back. I would I would say If you add him and those guys return Go look at JK Dobbins player page go to where it says career Go look at how many games he has missed and then know that he's already dealing with the hamstring injury So I love JK Dobbins. I'd love to see him stay healthy He said in the preseason when he had the minor injury I forget what it was Um that he wasn't gonna let I think it was ankle Um, he came back right away to practice sounds like he's gonna return this week in some capacity But it's just unfortunately what his history has been and Jonah Coleman Maybe the future of this Broncos backfield and they're coming off a win where he had a big partner So wouldn't be surprised if he now is working his way into a bigger part of the rotation If everybody's healthy and you know may end up Playing more than one of the two. I think if it was gonna be any of them it would be Harvey Okay, Dave. So Jamie's top three priorities this week are Jonah Coleman Bryce Young and Dalton Schultz One thing about Bryce Young Maybe you'll start him against Cleveland this week I don't think it's clear what kind of matchup that is Trevor Lawrence lit them up And then Baker may feel struggled but Baker's not really playing that well But then he's got to troit the following week which looks like one of the best matchups for quarterbacks Then he doesn't buy then he's at Philadelphia So I guess what I'm saying is with Bryce Young maybe in the next four weeks There's only one matchup that you really want to start him in However, I'm not really approaching it that way. He's playing so well I want to see where this goes You don't have to start him immediately But I feel like it's a kind of guy that you want on your team because he's so I legitimately be breaking out Normally, I wouldn't put a quarterback in the top three Unless it was overwhelmingly obvious you can make an argument that it is for Bryce Young We just lost three starters like we're down Caleb Williams Jane Daniels and Jackson Dart like there's three managers and every league looking for quarterback right now And so if he's not a priority for every league where he's still available, which you know, it's not that many leagues I don't know what you're doing. All right, Dave. Who are your top three priorities this week? First of all, I think it's a get which in need week in a vacuum Coleman is to middle my number one I would put short second and I would put Denzel Boston third and it's not to slight Bryce Young This is not me saying that Bryce Young's gonna be bad if you lost Caleb Williams or Jackson Dart You better go get Bryce Young, but this is gonna be you know three teams In every league that need a quarterback if they don't already have a backup quarterback And there's probably going to be another quarterback on the waiver wire that could be Not as good as Bryce Young, I think they're staying hollow with Bryce Young But I don't I don't think you have to make him a priority unless you have to unless your quarterback situation is dire Then of course you're going to put Bryce Young at the top of the list if your tight end situation is dire You're going to put Dalton Schultz at the top less if your receiver situation is dire You will put Denzel Boston as one of the top wide receivers on on your list But if you don't have a dire situation then I think what Jamie said about Jonah Coleman is good And he's somebody who you you want to roll the dice on you're gonna make the commitment for a couple of weeks I know when I drafted him You remember how crazy I was over Jonah of course My month ago when I drafted him I wanted to commit to him for a month just see what would happen There was a lot of really good stuff that he did in week two There was some bad stuff he didn't week two as well And you think about Sean Peyton and what his track record is with running backs He doesn't put it all on one guy's plate And so I worry about Jonah Coleman being a mega breakout And I don't think it's going to happen as long as Dobbins is healthy And eventually RJ Harvey will come back So no matter what the situation unless it's legitimately what we saw in week two Where it's Dobbins is out Harvey is out That's when we'll see Coleman getting a ton of work But short of that you're going to see Coleman split That being said if we're just you know taking a roster spot And we're we're going to see what we get with somebody We're going to do a little investing Then Coleman's the guy So what is your thought? Let's say Dobbins is out And I think Dobbins is going to play this week But you're picking up Coleman right now Because we know the history of JK Dobbins So in your opinion If Dobbins at some point suffers a longer term injury What is the split looking like between Coleman and RJ Harvey Coleman running down Harvey passing down Coleman at the goal line Okay, Jamie you agree with that? Mostly I think they'll mix and match a little bit Not as like the Rams or Bears type situation But I still think Harvey will get enough Work on first and second down to be somewhat relevant And Coleman will catch passes probably on first and second down as well So I don't think they go completely away from Harvey In terms of the using him as a rushing down guy Because they've done it already the season with Coleman with Dobbins Let me double check Let me double check one thing on Harvey Give me 30 seconds. Yeah, that's fine. It is the culprit is inside the five Okay, I just want to say because I can foresee it We're sitting here leading with Jonah Coleman And people are going to pick him up and they're going to go I can't believe you told me it really is a long term thing But there's also like no guarantee that Dobbins and Harvey are going to play this week And you know you'd have a starting running back But it's kind of also just because we know this This is why we like him in the preseason Now he's got this opportunity here potentially Alright, so there's that Dalton Sholtz Jamie Does it bother you at all that Dalton Sholtz has done a lot of his work this year I don't necessarily want to call it garbage time But trailing in the fourth quarter For example this past week He had eight catches for 72 yards on nine targets And a 45% target share in the fourth quarter alone against Cincinnati And so much of it was Cincinnati had a 20 to 6 lead the entire time in the fourth quarter And they just let him catch these short balls And CJ Stroud so far like we don't expect the Texans to be 0 and 2 And trailing all the time CJ Stroud so far has 58 pass attempts in the first three quarters of two games 58 pass attempts in six quarters And in the fourth quarter of the two games he has 35 pass attempts So with Sholtz are you Do we think maybe it's over inflated because of these game scripts that are sort of unexpected for Houston I mean I'm not expecting him to average 11 targets for games So no, I'm not expecting him to you know do what he's been doing And so however you want to Categorize or separate it you know from you know when he's getting it done The thing that I think you know you're just looking at the week three game You know the colds are going to come out and score on the first drive because that's what they've done You know so they'll probably be trailing again if they don't get the ball But this Texas defense has clearly not played to the same level You know facing Josh Allen and Joe Burrow back to back weeks is much different than facing Daniel Jones So we'll see what they do In week three I just think you look at Dalton Sholtz right now If Niko Collins plays you dial back expectations if Niko Collins is out Yeah, you're still looking at somebody who we said when Jayden Higgins was injured This is going to be the guy who's second on the team of targets. We love that scenario. So There's a lot of passing going on right now in Houston that we didn't expect There's a bad defense in Houston right now We're struggling the offense Houston that we didn't expect again I think that has to do with who they played so we'll see but I still think you're just looking at Shulton when you get to like you know Dave said You got Colston loved one struggling. You have a you know Maybe scenario of Kyle pits bouncing back, but still we don't know what it's gonna look like with Michael Penex We have maybe Brock Bauer's coming back. We have maybe this maybe that you know Tucker craft whatever You know some of these tight ends were struggling it feels pretty good to look at Dalton Shulton You know getting those opportunities and coming off this monster game and now facing a Colts team that just got beat up by Travis Kelsey So I think there's an opportunity here for Shultz to be a top 10 to it Okay, last question here before we're gonna move on here But Jonah Coleman Bryce Young Dalton Shultz Denzel Boston They're all rostered in about 50 to 60% of league So for the people who have been listening to 10 minutes for 10 minutes and going well I can't get any of these guys who are some names of of players that are much more available And yes, we will do this later. Yeah, we'll do this later But just a few names here that we should prioritize for the people who are going I can't get any of these guys Dave I mean, there's two obvious running backs and tank Bixby and manual Wilson just with the injuries that Well, you know, you're looking at there with potentially sake one Barclay being out and potentially Darian Price being out now Similar to the Broncos. It sounds like those two guys are going to Potential or the starting running backs there are gonna potentially play I think when you go to quarterback, you know, if you want to go very deep You're looking at Michael Penex, you know playing for the first time this season and hopefully he takes advantage of the Weapons that are available to him You have now Marcus Mario and James Winston. We know that they've had very good You know, they have both have a good history of helping fantasy managers when put in this situation So hopefully those guys take advantage of a Geno Smith and CJ Stroud both have great matchups this week If you just want to go in a week-to-week basis and straddle coming up Excuse me. Geno schedule coming up is very favorable as well So you know, there's quarterbacks that can help you in the in the dire situation that a lot of fantasy managers are in with with those three guys being out Receiver, there's you know, plenty of guys, you know Dante the Wicks at and I Mitchell both coming off strong starts the season you know both Or at least in week two in the case for for at night Mitchell So there are receivers that can help people talk about a lot of others as well and then at tight end, you know, you have Similar to Geno Smith like Kenya Cedeaks matchup is as good as it gets around a gatson's got a great situation now Pat fryermuth has an unbelievable history against since daddy bangles Ten games. He's played them in his career. He's averaging 14.6 PPR points against them and of those eight games He's scored at least 11 PPR points or more so he just beats up on the bangles Helps with their problems that we've seen over the last several years and then struggling so there's there's lots of different ways You can go with with this The and you know, I agree with Dave Denzel Boston's the number one receiver you get the reason I didn't put a receiver There's just because there's so many options that kind of you know sliding scale, you know from Boston But like Boston and Tucker to me are almost identical in terms of what they're capable of doing and and have done so far at least Coming off week two so like I think it's almost in your best interest like you could play defense as well You know by picking up shults or a quarterback to block one of your opponents from getting what could be a starting option for the rest of the season Okay, well that was basically the segment There's a few other names definitely to throw out a little bit later when we talk about that later. Hey real quick real quick This is a strike against Jonah Coleman after all so 56% success right inside the five last year for RJ Harvey Five of his seven rushing touchdowns came from inside the five I wonder if he's the default goal line guy in a world where Dobbins is out Harvey is active Coleman is active And that obviously takes some of the upside away from Jonah Coleman Okay Just to let you know Tuesdays and Thursdays were on CBS Sports Network Not every Tuesday and Thursday, but we will always record a show and whether it's on CBS Sports Network or not like today It's not on CBS Sports Network. It really depends on how badly you need the quarterback the tight end the receiver the the running back But I I don't think I'd be in for any more than like 10% on any of these guys Maybe you could talk me into 15% on Coleman if you just want to take the chance on the upside But I don't think that this is just like last week to me where I don't think this is a break the bank week for anybody I'm pretty tempted with Bryce Young. I mean, it just not break the wall. What are your what's your quarterback situation? Yeah, even if I have a good quarterback situation like I would spend Yeah, I think 10% on Bryce Young if I had a quarterback situation if I didn't I think you know 20 to 30 Might might work for me. Is that crazy? Okay, I mean it clearly depends on You might have to do a little work here to see who else in your league desperately needs a quarterback this week There's three managers in every league that needs quarterback. Assuming they don't have a backup already. Yes Right, and it's it yeah, it's a rough week. I was up by five points My opponent had pukinakua as you know he was scratched There was another league member who had Malik neighbors and no matter what he already lost week two Both teams decided to trade one another and said in the fantasy group chat There was a part two coming to this trade after week two was over Remind you these two members are family And even though I got extremely lucky with Malik neighbors scoring 1.1 fantasy points I wound up getting the win. Is this collusion? Should this be illegal with an entire when an entire trade cannot be finalized on the day of the transaction This is definitely collusion Well, I mean, it's collusion if they have the second part right there's no collusion which they admitted to Well, they haven't done it yet though Yeah, it's not collusion if they hold on to the players for a considerable amount of time right if they if they make a trade back This week then it's collusion. I don't know that the second part is necessarily trading the players back but I don't know like what if they like tried to stand for the rest of the season. It's clearly not collusion They've made a trade that's normal fantasy football stuff Yeah, they literally win to the fantasy group chat like yeah guys. We're just going to trade back after a week. No, no, no, no Clarify they did not say they were going to trade they did not say they were going to trade back They said there was a second part. That could mean two running backs being added to the deal right? So that's why it's a gray area here Yeah, I think it's so we know what part to to do is we can't really adjudicate. - I think you really have to put a rule, and I obviously don't do this 'cause I'd never see this happen in my leagues. But if this kind of stuff happens, there needs to be a rule in your league where if you trade a player to a team, you can't trade those players back for like three weeks or something like that. There's got to be a period of time where those players are kept on the team. I don't know if that really helped. That's a tough one. So what do we think in general? Is it like let this one stand? - I think we need to know what part two is and hope we get that answer before Friday. So email whoever wrote you back and say we have the official fantasy cops on Friday and we could answer that question when we get to it. - All right, quick shout out to our boy, June, another longtime listener. He was eliminated from his guillotine league when Matthew Stafford took three kneel downs at the end of the game. - That's amazing. - News and down, we had an art guillotine league and I don't know if Sam's on the stream or not, but it was Sam and my own came down to Kiron Williams. I think it was Kiron Williams. Sam definitely had Camp Scataboo and I think Sam ended up losing. - Yeah, lost by a one point. - Yeah, just brutal. I'm on a text saying with my own and he's sweating and how it was just, it was both you guys just had rough weeks and sorry Sam. - Yeah, I lost Nico Collins too. I was actually going into it. So that's a 75.9 to 74.3. - Oh, that's brutal. - That's a tough way to go. - All right, Jackson, Dart, knee injury, sprained MCL that could be maybe one of those four to six weeks or weekers we'll see. Jaden Daniels, we still don't have a timeline here with his elbow injury. Dan Quinn did say expect him to return this season but now they're exploring more things here. Caleb Williams week to week with a hamstring injury has not been ruled out from Monday night football against the Eagles. I really hope he plays, look forward to that game. Sam Darnell expected a practice on Wednesday. He could play at Washington. He's another guy you can get on the waiver wire if you place at Washington. Kyler Murray is going to start this week at Tampa Bay. So I guess you guys would just rather have Bryce Young than Kyler Murray rest of season at this point. - I have Kyler second on the list but yeah, I think at this point looking at what Bryce Young has done, I was leaning toward Bryce. - Michael Pentax Jr. is going to start on Thursday at Green Bay. At running back, Jonathan Brooks is gonna miss some time. He re-aggravated his groin injury. If you drafted Chuba Hubbard, congratulations. JK Dobbins has a hamstring injury, so does RJ Harvey. Dobbins, it seems like they're expecting him to be ready for week three against the Rams. Rico Dowdall, not sure about this one. He left with a toe injury, gets the Bengals this week. Jalen Warren tremendous usage after Dowdall left the game. And St. Juan Barkley has a stinger, kind of weird we haven't really heard anything on this one here. We'll keep an eye on St. Juan Barkley and what it means for Tank Bigsby and all that. - Question. If St. Juan Barkley were out and JK Dobbins were out, who would you rather have this week? Tank Bigsby against the Bears or Jonah Coleman against the Rams? - Coleman. Do we know if RJ Harvey is out too? - No, but Tyler Bade took that Harvey role. Let's say he's out. Let's say he's out. - Then it's Coleman over Bigsby. 'Cause we know Bigsby's gonna wrap, excuse me, with Will Shipley. - Yeah. - Please, the announce guy, Bigsby, the writing down sky. - All right, wide receiver news. Nico Collins may miss another game. Zay Flowers could play this week. Ooh, at Dallas, that'd be awesome. Oh, that game's in Brazil, right? Is that right? - Yes. - Yeah. Oh, is that mean we have an early game on Sunday? - No, 430. - Okay, 'cause when we have early games, our Sunday show starts at 930. Any, 830, yeah. Okay, well, we'll say about that, I think, next week. Michael Pittman's status is unclear. Mike Evans looks like he's gonna play, but they're gonna monitor him. He's almost certainly gonna mispractice on, well, I wouldn't say that. Mike Evans is gonna be on the injury report. Jaden Reed, we don't know. Caleb Douglas left with an ankle injury. The cult signed, a Sanderius Slayton, Alec Pierce is going to miss several weeks. If not more, I mean, he could miss the season at this point. Right now he's gonna try to avoid surgery Alec Pierce, but he's gonna miss some time. Jalen McMillan, this I thought was so interesting that Ted Hurst just completely played over Jalen McMillan. Jalen McMillan barely played well. They said McMillan is not fully healthy yet, but he's getting closer. So we'll see what that split looks like, 'cause I think Hurst and 8% of leagues is a good pickup for deep leagues, but not if McMillan's gonna get more play. And Malik neighbors has this shoulder issue, his shoulder popped out, they popped it back in. We'll see if he's able to play, I assume he would. He returned and had one horrible catch for one yard against the Rams, it gets the Titans this week. Dallas Goddard, sprained MCL, he's gonna miss time, hopefully goes on IR for your roster spot. And Zach Earths was signed, he is 35 years old, but he did average about 10 points per game in each of his last two seasons with Washington. That's not bad. Brock Bowers will practice this week, hopefully back. And David Najoku and Charlie Kohler are both on IR. So we do have some deep league tight ends that are interesting. And then we've got a lot of offensive line stuff here. Giants really horrible night in terms of injuries, including left tackle, Andrew Thomas, Patriots right tackle. Mike Onwenwu, long-term injury. Is he officially out for the year? - Not yet. - Thanks up. - All right, not officially. - Top three at each position, Jamie, who are the top three quarterbacks to get? - Yeah, you mentioned two quarterbacks already. Bryce Young would be one, and then Kyler Murray would be two. And I go back and forth between James Winston and Marcus and Mariotta as the third one. If you need somebody for a one week situation or maybe a little longer, you can go with CJ Stroud or Gino Smith just based on their schedules. But we've seen what James and Mariotta have done when given opportunities to start as recently as the last two seasons. And so I think there's lots of upside there, especially if league neighbors is healthy for the Giants. So depending on what you're looking at, what you need, if you feel more comfortable with Stroud or with Gino Smith, I'm certainly fine putting those guys ahead of James and Mariotta. But the top two for me are locked in and Bryce Young and Kyler Murray. - I agree with the top two. No love for Jacobi Berset. - He's up there, I mean, it's been a little frustrating so far to start the season. Then he threw the ball 37 times. I got you 18 fantasy points in week one, very disappointing game against Seattle in week two. We know the schedule's not getting very easy as it moves along. This is easier in week three than it was last week. But I think just as much upside with James and Mariotta, as we've seen similar to Berset, as he came in last year, you know, if you start to look at some of the sample sizes for those guys. And then when you look at the schedules for Stroud and for Geno, I think you can make arguments that those guys are in just as good a situation. So as we know, as we've already talked about, there's lots of managers that need quarterbacks right now. So if Jacobi is in the top three for you, or maybe even number one, just based on what he did last year, sure. Go ahead. - All right Dave, who are your top three running backs? - Coleman's number one, Bigs B's number two, if we're working on the assumption that Sequan Barkley is not gonna play this week. And maybe you even stash Bigs B because Sequan hasn't looked like Sequan so far this season. And then Emma Johnson's number three. And if that's more of a stash play, you're seeing the guy who's the backup to Kenneth Walker, the third getting, looking good on limited reps. They're talking about giving them more reps, which makes sense. They've given so much work to Kenneth Walker through the first two weeks that they've gotta take some work off of them. I know that sounds terrible to people that have Walker, but he's still gonna get it over 20 touches a game. Johnson would be third for me. So give me Coleman, one, Bigs B, two, Johnson, three. If you don't wanna worry about the Eagle situation 'cause it could be very short lived, then Emma Johnson would jump to number two. - Gosh, I hate when we don't know our running back status when we're making our waiver claims. I just hate it. It's an argument for pushing your waiver night to Wednesday night instead of Tuesday night. But it's really frustrating here. - We won't know with the Eagles if you're going on that assumption. - That's true. - Well, they won't get a practice report, but we can get a report about saying it on Berkeley. - And just keep an eye on it, and I agree with Dave on the first two. I'd actually just, and Emma Johnson's awesome. So if you're just taking a long-term approach, that's what you might need. - Yeah, let's rest a season deal. - He might be number two easily if you just wanna avoid it, but Emmanuel Wilson, if there's no daring price, clearly the C-OX told you who their backup guy is right now. So, you know, Wilson coming off 21 carries has got an opportunity to take on a Washington defense that might be horrible. So, I think Wilson is in the discussion for the top three. Just one thing about the Eagles situation is, it's probably not gonna be all bigs, because we saw Will Shipley play a lot and he's another one, like if you are in a deeper league and you can't get bigs, because Bigsby was drafted and a lot of deep leagues are ready. Like, take a flyer on Shipley, and maybe he has another seven for 24 or a couple of catches, and especially if it's a full game situation for the Eagles, taking on a bad bar as defense. - All right, and I forgot to mention the generic price news. He has a chest injury, but it doesn't seem like it's a big, or as a shoulder, I forget what it was. - He left the game with what was classified as a chest injury, and then Mike McDonald said it's more of a shoulder. So, we'll see, but it's, this is where it's tricky. Like you said, we have all three of the main injuries sound like they're not serious, but you also are talking about, we don't know how price will play through pain and what the C-OX will do. We don't know what Barclay's situation is right now. We do know that Dobbins has a terrible injury history, but it sounds positive. So, you just have to be a little bit cautious with your fab. You may end up spending too much on somebody that doesn't help you immediately. - Okay, wide receivers, Jamie, who are your top three wide receivers? - So, Dan's all Boston, I agree with Dave, but I really struggled with between him and Trey Tucker, just because I think there's opportunities for both to be successful, and you saw what we were hoping for for Trey Tucker in week two when he had five catches for 119 yards and it touched down on seven targets. So, there's plenty of upside there. Boston is the. the much higher ceiling if things hit for him. It's just you don't want to chase the fluky touchdowns and that's the thing that's a little concerning. But Sean Watson is playing much better than anybody expected. Boston is showing that he's a playmaker and I hope this continues. I just don't know if like that when you see the touchdowns the garbage time one we won against Jacksonville and then he's bouncing off defenders against Tampa Bay. Like you just don't want to overestimate what he can do rest of season. But there's just so much to love about what he and concepts you don't can eventually become. I put Richard Bateman third. We do expect say flowers to come back, but you've heard me say this now for basically two weeks since Jacobi Lane's injury is that there's two guys missing. So whether flowers returns or not, Lane is not coming back anytime soon. And Bateman, very small sample size, but it's now eight games going back to 2024 with at least five targets. He did it again in week three, where he gets you 15.8 PPR points or more and now six of those eight games. So there's just an opportunity here for Bateman. If flowers is out, must start wide receiver against the Cowboys. If flowers is in, I think he's still a starter in three receiver league. So you can go add, and I'm actually can go down Tavy and Wicks. There's just a lot of different players this position that you can sort of say, all sort of fall in line as number three receivers. I just think when you look at Boston and Tucker situation, it shouldn't change anything. Bateman situation could change. Mitchell situation could change when Omar Cooper's back. Obviously down Tavy and Wicks now has a plus because Goddard's out. We don't know what they'll do as accords, but maybe McIleman starts to get a little bit more run. So there's lots of different guys. I mean, we'll talk about only gets a position, but I think for me, it's the top two locked in and then Rashad Bateman right now is there. - I agree with the top two locked in. When Brock Bowers is back, I wonder what that means for Trey Tucker and whether or not we can count on him to think more than like a low and boomer bus flex. I think they're staying power with Denzel Boston. He had a 94% route rate in week two. It's like 97% week one. So we know right away, he's a full-time player for the Browns, seven targets in week two. That's huge. He should have had two touchdowns against Tampa. He had one ball go right through his hands. I kind of wish that that wasn't the case, but I do think that he's, I think he's going to be a good contributor as long as to Sean Watson is the quarterback. And I don't worry about the play and the almost touchdown where the ball went. I think it was right through his hands. It was really close. It could have been knocked away. I don't remember off the top of my head, but the bottom line is, I think that there's staying power. I think that there's room for him to get you like five for 60 every week. And that's a number three receiver. - If you had to pick right now-- - I look for right now. - For both of you. If you had to pick right now, who would you say is the best rookie wide receiver rest of season? Forget about what they did in the first two weeks. - How can I forget about what they did over the-- - No, no, no, no, you don't get that production. - Oh yeah, no, I cannot say Cornell Tate. - No, I think it's either Boston or Tyson. Because if Tyson comes back, the way that this New Orleans offense has been operating. - In fact, if that dude's out there and you've got IR spots, stash city. - You just wonder though, if Ailei's done enough to make that a problem? - I'm gonna say Malachi Fields. I'm gonna say Denzel Boston. Yeah, I've been impressed too. It could always go super south with the Sean Watson obviously, but yeah, I'm glad you brought up that almost touchdown because the touchdown he had was completely fluky that was ridiculous, but-- - He actually, he actually, hold on, he had the ball and it looks like it got knocked away. - Okay. - I don't think it was a drop. - Yeah, it's fine, and you know-- - He wasn't credited. - He plays all the time, it's, yeah, but it's tough. It's a good question, Jamie. - Oh, can we do that in a drop? - Dave, who are your top three tight ends? - Shultz is number one, that's easy. Just too much target volume. Check down guy, he's almost running one of two routes every single play. And whenever they're up against zone coverage, he's gonna get a lot. I put Gadsden second, because without Nijoku there, without Kohler there, it seems like he's gonna have the opportunity to play a lot for the chargers. And I don't know, I think that Justin Herbert could use a short area target. I put Firemuth third, and it's not with a lot of confidence. I just like the match up this week, and if you're getting him, you're streaming him. So Shultz won, huge staying power, especially in PPR. Gadsden, Firemuth two and three. - Yeah, the only thing I'll change to that is my God, parents Ferguson finally got involved last night, and he looked awesome. And Puganoquo may not play in week two, but this was expected to be the third option in this passing game, and Stafford finally looked like Stafford again, and the Rams, back in America looked like the Rams again. So, give me Terrence Ferguson. He might be, you know, if you want to talk about deep league options, like, hello. - He held on 80% of leagues. - Yeah, I mean, just an absolute stud, as we talked about in the off season, if you ever got the opportunity, and if they were gonna move on, remember, there was the talk of them moving on from De Monte Adams at one point. Like, this was a guy we were very excited about, and you finally got to see it last night, so. - You put him ahead of Gadsden and Firemuth? - Without question. - Okay. - Unless you tell me right now, Puganoquo's coming back, but we just don't know. - Yeah, I mean, Puganoquo was warming up, right? He was questionable the whole way. - Yeah, but I don't think that, you're not gonna get this from Ferguson, but I think there's opportunities still for Ferguson to get plenty of chance. And remember, Colby Parkinson was a streaming titan by the end of the season. This kid is much more athletic and productive than, or has a chance to be more productive than Colby Parkinson. - Who was? And I think what I would say is this, right? Like, Terence Ferguson probably has more long term potential. Pat Fryermuth has a 13.5% target chair in each of his first two games. They've thrown 79 passes in two games. That's not great, but, you know, this is what I, okay, long-winded way of saying, if you maybe want to pick up Ferguson, you can't get shoals, get Ferguson. If you think that there will still be options on the waiver, like Pat Fryermuth, like O'Ronda and Gadsden, maybe people just won't pick them up. There might be other options. Like, TJ Hawkes is playing the book in here, as they look like they're absolutely horrible against titans. Darren Waller, I mean, Hunter Henry. I mean, I'm surprised Hunter Henry's that on this list, by the way. - He's on the list. It's like, there's a lot of time jobs. It's Kenya Sidiq, if you want to trust the-- - Yeah, but I mean, Sidiq, look what the Lions have done. They may know a fan look like a star. They made Johan Johnson, look like Johan Johnson. And then Dawn Kinkay just absolutely obliterated them. - I know, let me tell you about like, he's too much of a reach for me, I think. - He's not much of a reach, but if you're just playing matchups, like it's Firemuth and it's Sidiq. - Right, so the case for Ferguson is simply this. If there is no Pukinakua, we saw it last night. 72% route rate, nine targets. That's awesome. Yes, buy into that. Week one, Pukas on the field. He had a 45% route rate. He had one target. - I've had that route week one. - Yeah, maybe you do, because the route rate, though, that's the difference. - Right, they didn't use them a lot. And maybe that was just because they were trailing in the game. - I'm not exactly sure what goes into it. We could research that if you wanted to. But the bottom line is that, as long as Pukas out, yeah, I'm with you on Ferguson. And that makes them a priority until we know if Pukas back. And if Pukas back, then maybe you pivot off of Ferguson. - Okay, so to recap, Bryce Young, Kyler Murray, and then James Winston or Marcus Mariotta, those were the top three quarterbacks for Jamie. At running back, Dave went, Joan of Coleman, Tank Bigsby, Emmett Johnson, a wide receiver, Jamie said, Denzel Boston, Trey Tucker, Rashad Bateman, at tight end, Dave said, Dalton Schultz, Aronde Gaston, Pat Fryermuth, but you just heard a spirited case for Terrence Ferguson. - Ferguson makes sense ahead of Gaston Fryermuth. - Okay, so Schultz, Ferguson, Gaston Fryermuth. They didn't look great against the Colts. They look much better clearly in week one. I think we'll see this Chiefs defense and Steve Spagnolo blitz the Snot at a Malik Willis. And Malik Willis through two weeks has really struggled when he's been blitzed. Makes sense to just trust any defense that's playing against the Dalton's. Because now they're down, Caleb Douglas, potentially. So this passing game could look even worse. Willis has exactly been tournament-prone, so that's a good thing. But I think he's gonna get hit quite a bit. And there's obviously the opportunity for him to have some turnovers on a weekly basis. So the Chiefs are a top three DST for week number three. - They also get the Raiders the following week, which may or may not be a good matchup, but it's probably not a bad matchup. So Packers back to back road games. Dolphins even back to back road games. They're finally coming home. So does that sort of give them a little bit of juice? Just being back in their building, especially being on the road. Dolphins stayed out west. for both of their games to start the season, after playing the Raiders in the 49ers. So, not that means you're getting away from the Chiefs by any stretch. But, you know, going back home is always a little bit of a good option. Somebody mentioned the Panthers. Yeah, you can go with the Panthers as well coming off a strong defensive performance, and taking on the Browns, but the Browns, I think, got a game's credit. They've looked much better than I think anybody expected. They've started slow in their first two games, and then especially last week, they started to put it all together, at least through the air. By the way, great news for the Chargers, they lost their left guard for a while. So, awesome stuff there. What would you take one? What's that? Which one? Not Pippins? Oh, okay, Yo-D, Kyo-D, Oaseka. A couple guys in particular that it's like, well, I guess you could throw a shuck in there as well. Guys who are rostered in about 75% of CBS leagues that I think would be just like, oh man, pick 'em up immediately. I'm not gonna say them yet. Who do you think are the shallow league guys that, it would make Jonah Colman look like garbage on the waiver wire? Number one, and it's not close, is Josh Downs. You mentioned Alec Pierce and his injury and Downs. Seven for 72, nine targets. They add variously, and I don't think that impacts Downs. You also have a looming suspension for Kenan Allen that could happen at some point this season. So Downs looks like the number one receiver and at least number two in terms of targets. Maybe number one, moving forward. So Downs would be first. Chuck would definitely be on that list. Joanne Johnson would absolutely be on that list based on what he's accomplished. I got one more. I'm trying to think if there's a running back one. - Yeah, Rashad White. - Yes, Rashad White. Yeah, I jumped the gun and saying that he did not look great in week one and looked much better. And the guy that I think we were all hoping to see in week two, mostly from a reception standpoint, clearly being one of the go-to guys in the passing game. So hopefully that continues. Jakory Krasky-Marit's gonna have games. I think when they're playing with the lead or have an opportunity to, who knows how that'll go, moving forward without Jay and Daniels in there. So Rashad White's a great call, yeah. - Yeah. - Shock is available in half of Yahoo Leagues. - Yeah, Rashad White is too. Yeah, 56% rostered. - We're shocked here. Shock is already rostered too high on sleeper. But if he's out there then do you like him or do you like Bryce Young? I kind of like Shock. - Yeah, I think there's probably a little bit more upside with Shock. Just, you know, I don't know if that's fair to say that's a Bryce Young. Just what he's done the first two games. But I think like you said before Dave once they get Jordan Tyson back, then this could be one of the best receiving cores in the league if they like continues to do this. - I did skip kickers. I apologize. Kickers that Jamie has on the waiver wire. Trace Mack against Atlanta. Spencer Schrader against Houston. Ryan Fitzgerald at Cleveland. And Will Lutz against the Rams. Those are some kickers to look at. If you could tell me in 15 seconds, what goes into your kicker waiver wire, picks? - Recent performance, environment, and project this core. - Recent performance, okay. Good stuff, good to know. And later in the year obviously we'll factor weather in with kickers as well. - Well, Dave, you waste a lot of my time today. What are we doing here? Talking about Jonah Coleman and Rashad White. You know what? I've got nothing out of this show. I'm just, no, these guys are available in my league. - Who are some of the deeply guys that we need to know? Even if you want to repeat some that Jamie mentioned earlier. - Sure. So these are going to be players that are available in less than 40% of CBS sports leagues. Jacobi Berset is the top quarterback for me. You can certainly look at Marcus Mariotas. Well, I don't love the match up from Mariota this week, but we know that he's going to be the starter for the commanders for the next several weeks, maybe even months based on what happened to Jayden Daniels. I, Gene Smith would probably be next best and he's available in about 80% of CBS sports leagues. So that's pretty good. Running backs, do I say his name, Adam? Do I say it? After we talked about him yesterday, we haven't brought his name up yet once. - Who is this? - Caleb Johnson. - Oh, yeah, yeah. - Packers. Okay, so how about some positive things about Caleb? He played as many snaps as Lloyd. He remains, okay. Well, he played as many snaps, he's pretty positive. No, he had some good runs, but he really only gets yardage when the offensive line is blocking. He's not a creator and he's not a burner. And I don't know how good of a pass catcher he is. And he's available in over 90% of leagues. If you're desperate for a running back, that might see eight touches and probably not work at the goal line and definitely will not work on passing downs. That's my ringing endorsement for Caleb Johnson. And I have to say his name first 'cause all the other running backs that we've talked about today, save for Emmanuel Wilson are rostered in 40% plus of CBS Sports League. So, yeah, of course, but Wilson would be the guy available in 95% plus. If Jadarian price was out, you could always start your week by adding a manual Wilson and then changing it off to Caleb Johnson or Keaton Mitchell or Devin Singletary. I'm gonna throw up just going over these names at one point. Do you think Josh Jacobs is back? And I know we don't know the answer to that. - Week seven. - Week seven. Oh, you're making decisions as if Jacobs will be back in week seven basically. - Week seven at Detroit. - Okay. - The alternative would be week nine at New England. - One of them. - Somewhere in there, you'll have them for the second half of the year. This is my assumption. It's not based on obviously any news. Nothing's come out. He remains on the commissioner's example list. I suppose that there's a chance that he stays on it for the entire year. But just the track record employers that have had the transgressions that he's had along with the no contest plea that he made. So Jess, he's trying to get his season back at some point. Yeah. - Okay, so Dave, give me like two or three deep league wide receivers that you'd prioritize. - Damon's a great one because he's available in over 60% of CBS sports leagues. Ad and I Mitchell's another one who had double digit targets in week two. And I think the Jets will be, I think the Jets are gonna throw the ball. Good amount this year. Maybe a little bit more than we gave him credit for they didn't have to do it so much in week one. They definitely didn't week two. Absolutely well in week three. And there's been up about Ad and I Mitchell with Gina Smith since August. So I would put him on the list. I would also put Xavier Hutchinson on the list. And then going to tight ends, we talked about him already. Terrence Ferguson, Roddy Gadson, Pat Farr Muth. Those would be the three. - Okay, yeah, I actually think the deep league wide receivers are pretty appealing for deep league wide receivers. But I'm thinking of my leagues. Three receiver PPR leagues. Xavier Hutchinson nearly had a 40 yard touchdown catch. CJ Stroud missed them. And I, you know, it seems like Nico's gonna miss another game. It's just my kind of gut from reading the T-Leaves. And if Hutchinson had caught that ball, you know, he's seven percent roster. He's probably up to 30 percent this week. - He wouldn't be top two though. He would not be top two if he had caught that ball. - Who would, who would be? - Well, I mean, Denzel Boston and Triton. - No, no, no, I'm talking about the deeply guys. Just no, no, no. - He would be a good short term ad. Because I don't think anybody's interested in starting Hutchinson when Nico's bad. - But he's got the Colts, right? And the Colts just at their past defense so far, against Zay Flowers at 150 yards and a half. And then you had Xavier Worthy, Jalen Royals with a touchdown. You had 80 yards for Taekwondo, Thornton, you know, is so like. - It's just, it's a good enough sample size when Nico Collins has been out small, but three games over the last two years. And he has six targets or more in all three of those. The weird one though was Jared Wayne like getting seven targets and yeah, a bunch of it. - Yeah, I like him. - Yeah, mm-hmm. - Okay, and there's also. - And then there's one more, there's one more. Khalifa Amin is like the only consistent bears passcatcher through two weeks of the season. - And the Tyson Beijing, though, that's the thing. - Yeah, probably. - I think Tyson Beijing is actually gonna keep this offense on time and that might actually work against Khalifa Amin, but if you want some, he's low on the list. Like every other receiver we've named should be ahead of Khalifa Amin. - Just also, that's weak. - One more injured placement because he played well and we too would be Keon Coleman's 4% rostered and had six catches and, you know, he's on the field a lot. So we'll see in against a bad charter defense. - Absolutely. And then there's Kendrick Bourne who, well, whatever. I kind of like Kendrick Bourne and that's in that deep league format and Ted Hurst I think is interesting, but again, I was a little disappointed. I guess the big mill one thing still lingers, but Ted Hurst could have had a pretty big game. Caleb, bigger may feel just did not play well. And keep an eye on another just deeply guys. Jeremy Bernard is had eight targets against the Patriots. That was a tough matchup. We don't know when Pittman's coming back and Bernard may get an opportunity to maybe supplant Pittman as a number to receiver there in Pittsburgh. - He's some Puril. Am I right? I bet. - Thank you, thank you. - Rams 28, giant six. Yeah, Jimmy J said Aaron Judge Hurst, Jackson Dart Hurst, this is how it goes, at least you had the nicks. And that is how I feel because you guys don't care. But my college football team is also extremely injured right now, but the giants last night, oh, I mean, Dart, then neighbors, Andrew Thomas, late in the game, and Andrew Thomas looked like crap the whole game I thought. And then Brian Burns, horrible guy. for the giants. Hopefully they get back on track. Their schedule is so much easier. Tennessee, Arizona at Washington, New Orleans are the next four games. Gosh, wouldn't it be great if Jackson Dart were available for these games? There's, there's, uh, there's so much like revenge game narratives between the giants and the Titans with coaches and players on both sides. Yeah, yeah. And what do you think about neighbors, right, Amy? One catch and, you know, he was okay against Dallas, but horrible in this game. Would you have long-term concerns for neighbors? Not really. I, you know, I got a little excited when James came in because we know what James typically does for a wide receiver and then immediately neighbors get hurt. So we just don't know the extent of what he's dealing with. Hopefully he'll be 100%. You know, you go back to the comments he made prior to week one about if he's not feeling 100% is he going to play? So you wonder if the shoulder's bothering him, if he's going to go out there. I love the fact that he came back into the game if he's not 100%. So that's clearly encouraging. But look, the giant's offense just looked lost last night. You know, Skataboo couldn't really do anything. It's just frustrating that he keeps coming off the field so much. I'm like, what was your, uh, what was your, your question? More touchdowns or catches Sunday night for Skataboo and Quorum? They pulled that one. Or I'm sorry, Quorum had one and Skataboo had four. Yeah, he's good to see at least. Yeah, I just, look, he's going to have games like this where, you know, when he's facing a good run defense, I think the Rams are going to have a good run defense. It's not going to be ideal for him. So I think you just kind of just throw this game out because dark getting hurt so early in the game, just kind of probably put them in a little bit of a shell shot mode. And then the Rams just did whatever they wanted to almost offensively. So great to see the Rams play at this level again. I guess really the only frustrating thing is which version of Devote abs we're going to get when Pukin Akku is back. So this is probably a sell high window for sure for him. Yes. Little Ferguson continued to be involved when Pukin's back. And Kair has got to stop fumbling. I glad they continued to go to him right after the fumble, but this is now I think you fumbled both both games. Yeah, Quorum, you don't want to do that. They just got possession. He got it back, you know, but Kair and again, the ball punched out twice. It's it's something he's got to clearly work on. So Skataboo played 59% of this now. So isn't really that bad. It was annoying when Harris was in in like a goal-the-go situation, but Skataboo's that was excited two minutes. So I don't know if Skataboo would have ever been in there. No, he wasn't there because he was in there on like the first play or he was in there on one of those plays and then they just took him out for Najee Harris or maybe he took out Harris for Skataboo, whatever was stupid. It was interesting that it wasn't single Terry because usually single Terry is their hurry up back. Yeah, well, it wasn't hurry up though, because it was like they got the ball after the fumble at the 10-yard line. So yeah, yeah, I'm going to throw out some names here for Adams here because I understand the cell high, but we also saw what he can do. He's still a really good player, even at his age. Those catches he made were amazing. Devante Adams or Lad McConkey rest of season. Lad, I just don't know how injured the ribs are for him like and the the chargers look so lost. I might go Adams. I'm only happy when it rains by garbage. Baker may field is only happy when he is running around like a maniac throwing the ball a hundred yards downfield. Like just take the guy's staying to pocket. It's James with the Browns and his nine games, 19.3 fantasy points and more and five of those. Mariotta started eight games last season and scored 20 fantasy points or more and four of them. So it's almost like identical. How they'll do it is different. Mariotta and not all four of the games were scored 20 or more fans, but in four of the eight starts, he got 240 rushing yards or more. And James, we know it was going to have a lot of spike games. You know, I think you feel a little bit better about James because he played so much last night if he had a better game. But that was really, I think, just a byproduct of the Rams has been a great defense. Like you said, Adam, we get, we get the Titans this week. This should be one of those games where James goes off. It's tight. Titans, Cardinals, commanders, Saints. I'm going to, I'm going to guarantee it. I'm going to guarantee it. Ready? And I'll grow another beard if I'm wrong. James Winston is going to have at least one 30 point game in the next four weeks. No, 20, 26. He will hit 26 in at least one of those games. No, I think you're right. The thing 30 works. You know, I would say what about Kirk Cousins? There's just so many guys like Kirk Cousins could be okay against New Orleans. He was he's been solid so far. I'd rather start Bressette. All right, running backs, running backs here. Mike Washington Jr. and Woody Marks, Tyler Alger, these are shallow league guys. Plus, Rashad White would be the best shallow league guy. If you saw Jonah Coleman and Rashad White on your waiver wire, who you getting? What do I need? Right. Do I need to start it back this week? It's Rashad White for sure. If I need somebody that's a long term, it's Coleman, unless we know for sure that Dodman is going to miss this week. I think I would pick Coleman because of both of those guys are on my waiver wire. That means the waiver wire is kind of plentiful for backup run backs. And so I'd rather just roll the dice on Coleman, hoping that he's the guy this week. And if I'm wrong, then I cut him at some point and I pick up a different running back before Sunday. The Eagles are at the Bears Monday. The Seahawks are at Washington. Washington has been pretty good against the run so far to be fair. If both Sequan Barkley and Judarian price were out, how would you rank Tank Bigs B Will Shipley, Emmanuel Wilson, Jamie? I would go Tank Bigs B, Emmanuel Wilson, Will Shipley. Okay. There's also Emmett Johnson. There's Alvin Camera, who had five catches. He might just get just some PPR points. Taijay Spears. So many yards though. Taijay Spears stinks, but he's on this list because he's 50% roster at any place. And Caleb Johnson, yeah, Dave talked about him. And then there's DJ Dallas, who's another option. That's another injury. Just keep an eye on Aaron Jones that lead briefly in the fourth quarter within the injury. And it looked like DJ Dallas got his foot stepped on and then immediately Aaron Jones came back in. And Dallas was not listed on the injury report. I just wonder if it was like, "Hey, I don't care what you're dealing with. Go back in." And then he got absolutely blasted. Whereas helmet came flying off. I just hope Aaron Jones is fine because he ran really well. I'm going to reach out to some wide receivers that are available in shallower leagues and how many of them do you prefer to Denzel Boston? Rashad Bateman, unfortunately for Bateman, Zay Flowers looking trending in the right direction. For Bateman, they talk about using him differently and 25% slot rate by Farah career high, 8.7% motion rate by Farah career high, and those were things that existed in week one as well. It wasn't just week two and now he gets Dallas. So maybe he could be something this year, but we know how it is with the Ravens. Adonai Mitchell, like zero to 10 on the ado meter for Adonai Mitchell. That's amazing. Hunter Henry, you know, if you're, if you're struggling at tight end, Hunter Henry's guy, you can pick up. He ran. I think he led the team and route participation. He led the team in targets. Now, you see only, but yes. But he don't, but Drake may only through 22 passes. Yeah. Listen, this is what we said going into the week that you can say dobs or rom or tomorrow, Douglas or Matt Collins, right? These guys, it was going to be Hunter Henry is the one that was the preferred option. Same thing with the Texans. It was the tight end is the one that has the best opportunity. And both those situations came to fruition. Yeah, it wasn't a big game because the game script, I mean, they had a defensive touchdown. They barely had a throw, but the next two games for the Patriots are the jaguars on the road and then the bill is on the road. So, you know, you could get six, seven targets, maybe for Hunter Henry. Darren Waller caught two touchdowns. Remember, he had one called back in week one at Cleveland this week. Ronde Gatsden. You think Gatsden could be awesome? I mean, what an opportunity to hear for Gatsden. He was really good last year with, you know, five targets, usually the number I'll look for. And I think it was eight games, six of those he had 10 PPR points or more. So, when he got chances, he was productive. It's just a, do you want to trust the charges right now, which is just so hard to buy into with these guys and be like the bills for the most part have been very good at defending tight ends. So will this be one of those games where he just doesn't do very much and you get frustrated with him. He's still worth exploring though if you have some tight end concerns. And then there's Kenyans Diko as a great matchup at Detroit. Then he's at Chicago and Zach Erskine. Not great matchup. The best matchup. The best matchup so far. Yeah. Yeah. No, it's, it's true. I mean, there are 10 plus half PPR points or more to three tight ends in two games. They've played four tight ends. If you throw in Dawson ox and all four score touchdowns. Yeah, that's amazing. Mason Taylor. It's hurt. Any interest in TJ Hawkinson? Because Tampa Bay is also, but Tampa Bay is giving up the second most fantasy points to tight ends. Hawkinson's a touchdowner, but you know, I think when you look at Hawkinson and Brenton Strange and those type of guys, like if they score, you'll be happy with starting them. It's kind of the same thing with Jake Ferguson. He would two catches for seven yards in a week one. Then he comes back and has four catches and two of them are touchdowns. And so now all of a sudden, he looks like a potential starting option. So just don't chase those situations if you don't have to. But could easily do have one of those games. Yes. And we haven't seen what what Hawkinson looks like with Kyler. Anthony's asking Gadsden or Loveland. And I would for week three. And I would expand it to say how many of those waiver wire tight ends would you start over Colson Loveland this week? Loveland's 18th for me this week. Schultz for sure over Loveland. Ferguson would be over Loveland if we knew Nikko would be out. I'd like to hear some of those names that you've got ahead of Loveland. I have Hunter Henry ahead of him.
