Welcome to the ringer fantasy football show, my name is Danny Heifetz and I'm dreaded by Danny Kelly and Craig Coral back and we are going over all the players you need to add after week two, entry week three, for the NFL season, emails, fantasy court emails for power hour on Wednesday, emails, trivia questions here, so it's going to work. We're going to go position by position. We're going to give the top pick from a position and then like the waiver wire, only one of us gets them. So we'll do a trivia tiebreaker and then we'll figure it out. We'll try to help you figure out which positions and which players that each position out of waivers. It's not that complicated. A lot of players got hurt this week Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Sequan Barkley, Jacob Dobbins, Rico Dattles, Jadarian Price, Jonathan Brooks, the whole Mike Evans, Jayden Reed. There's a range of brutal out for the season to boo booze and everything in between. We will go with running backs, but we do have to start with Caleb Williams, who I thought was getting carted off with like a torn ACL. I would not see him play football for a year, to our own Tom Pelicero here at the ringer posting that Caleb Williams avoided any major injury to his entering Sunday, test confirmed. And the team is not even ruling Caleb Williams out for next week's game on Monday night football against the Eagles. Well, that Benji was an unsaid that he's planning for him to miss some time. Yes. So in theory, he could be practiced. He'll miss a week or two. And now so what do you make of Caleb Williams going from a fallen hero to now kind of a meme where everyone's like, oh, look, it's like my dog when he gets back from the vet and it cost me $800 and he's fine. Yeah. The most popular meme on socials today was basically me stubbing my toe and then it's like a picture of Caleb Williams, like getting carted off, like pumping his fist, like, you know, crying and whatnot. Not maybe, you know, look, it's easy to make fun of that in the moment. I'm sure he thought it was hurt really badly. Well, if you tell me when you pulled your hamstring and I saw it was a giant bruise on your hamstring. You had a grade one hamstring strain. How painful was that in the moment? You know, I didn't have the game on the line like Caleb did also didn't scream that much. My friends thought I was fine for two hours, you know, so we all have different pain thresholds. Exactly. Yeah. So, you know, I'm at like great news though for the Bears. I. Yeah, you're right. Look, he was in pain. You don't want to mock anyone for the reaction to pain. Williams said that, uh, should we rank like the best memes of Caleb Williams getting carted off? Sure. My favorite. You have a power ranking. I think the number one has to be the someone posted me waking up with a sore back on that weird hospital couch while my wife is giving birth. Yeah, take him to towel off your head and waving to the crowd. Running back, DK, actually a lot of players and waivers this week. I feel like week one was a little light. There's Devon Velae, maybe Kaelin Black and then Kaelin Black got hurt as soon as we did the episode. Covid that it's Monday night football is later tonight. Rams giants, obviously needless to say if there's any big injuries and Rams and giants, that would affect some of our thoughts here. But with that said, there's some big games on the board, DK, I'm curious. Who is your number one running back? You would add after week two, entering week three for Fantasy football. There's a couple of good options at running back this week and it's hard to figure out which one is the top one. I think I lean Jonah Coleman of the Broncos, who basically came in late in the game. He looked pretty good, scored a touchdown, he had 10 rushes for 39 yards. He played 42% of the snaps. RJ Harvey missed the game with a hamstring injury, I believe, or a groin, a hamstring injury. Dobbins left the game with a hamstring injury. The thing that complicates this is we don't know when RJ Harvey will be back, it could be this week. Apparently Dobbins is okay, or at least that's what he told reporters that he's going to be fine. There is a very uncertain rotation with the Broncos going forward, but I just want to try and grab a piece of that upside right now before, if he ends up starting for them for like three weeks or longer, you kind of want to get on that train right now. I would probably go Jonah Coleman. I agree with that. It's running back as tricky this week because you have until the end of Tuesday to submit your waivers and the next 24 hours will be very important in terms of what the injury news says because the other guy I'm thinking about specifically for like, you need a one-week pick. Tank Bigsby, the eagle is running back. If Safequans out, I think I would take Tank. Yeah. He had the stinger and people think it's like a neck, is it a disc issue, is it a shoulder issue? No one really knows. And he came back in the game, but then he ended up needing an MRI after the game. So we're recording Monday afternoon. We still don't have any updates on Safequans. So if Safequans missing the game, Tank is number one for me. If not, Jonah Coleman is number one for me. Yeah. I agree with that. I think that no matter the results of Safequans MRI, like if you have Safequan Barkley, I would just add Tank Bigsby, or if you're going against Safequan because the eagle's play Monday night football against the bear. So if Safequans out for that game, you might not know on Sunday when you sit the rest of your lineup. So just having Tank Bigsby in your lineup will make your life easier, or if you're playing against Safequan, like having Tank Bigsby will make their life harder. Overall, I'm kind of like, if you're running back, it's one thing to not handcuff your running back before the season. Once your running back gets hurt even a little, I'm like, just add the backup if you know their backups going to get a lot of work. I feel that way for Ash and Gentie with Mike Washington Jr. and the Raiders just have Mike Washington. Gentie's ankle got tweaked at the end of that game. Just have Mike Washington on your team, even if Gentie's going to play. And honestly, I'm at Johnson for the Chiefs who looks great and he's not playing a ton, but at this point, Ken Walker is so good. But if you have Ken Walker just to add, I'm at Johnson. You know what I mean? There are certain players that do feel like they would get a lot of the work for the starter and Tank Bigsies at the head of the line. However, I do think that number one guy's Jonah Coleman this week. That would be my pick this week for every. None of you guys think Alvin Camara is the actual pick here or what do we do with Alvin Camara? So we have to talk about Travis HN. So the first half of Bill Parnell pointed this out immediately. Travis HN had two touches in the first half and Alvin Camara had 10 for the Saints game against the Ravens, 10 touches for Camara. Travis HN got paid basically the same amount of guaranteed money as Ken Walker in free agency. And Ken Walker is basically leading the NFL and everything. All-purpose yards, touches, all this stuff. And then Travis HN is again, like being outtouched in the first half by Alvin Camara who we thought was retiring six months ago. Yeah. I kind of don't really understand it. I guess the Saints were losing for the majority of the game and maybe Camara. But again, it was the first half of the game. The game wasn't a blowout. I was really surprised that Camara was playing so much because HN week wanted seven catches. And then this week he had two catches and Camara came in and played a lot more. So now I'm kind of like, I don't know, I'm, I'm, I think I'm less bullish on Camara and I'm more just nervous about ETN or HN. Yeah. Camara had four catches. Yeah. Like how much of a disaster is this? Like is ETN a by-law or do you guys feel like this is a bad sign in a huge red flag? I think HN's a by-law, but he's a by-law because the people who drafted him are worried that it's like the worst pick they made in the entire season and maybe you used your fourth pick on Travis HN and the Saints are running the most plays and being amazing and having a great like come back offense and Travis HN's barely part of it. So I think that's what you need for a by-law is like the person has to totally regret taking that player. I think Travis HN looks better like he has way more juice. And I do kind of think it's a quirk of, I don't want to say randomness, but I don't think it will continue. I think Travis HN will get the ball more going forward. Put it this way. We'll probably do a by-law sell high episode after three weeks because it's kind of hard to make a trade after two weeks, so we usually do it after three. If Travis HN continues this week, I would try to trade for him because people are going panic if Travis H. It doesn't get a larger workload next week because it's a running ton of plays. They did just lose their tackle, Kellyn Banks. Yes, Kellyn Banks. I mean, that's a minimum of 10 weeks to the high ankle sprain. So they're they're surgery lift tackle. Yeah. So the same thing left tackle. I mean, honestly, I don't think it's a spread. I would be a broke his ankle. He had a severe high ankle sprain is what I read. So it's going to get he has to get surgery and I like that tight rope baby or whatever. I would be a hard avoid for the Saints backfield because not not only does Alvin come here throw a huge wrench in it. But if you remember back in week one, Kendra Miller had like nine carries. He got the touchdown. It's just I think it's going to be a massive getting the ball a lot. They get this they have this undrafted C.J. Donaldson guy who's getting snaps every game too. It took to me. It just looks like a a nightmare rotation at running back and every week is going to be a little bit weird. I think that they're going to they're going to pay him. I think there's an element of hot hate. I think what it comes down to I just think sometimes this randomness, but here's the thing. Most of the times I'm pretty happy to be like, I'll write off this backfield. There's four backfields you don't want in any given year. The problem is the Saints are running one of the fastest offense in the NFL and so many plays, not just because they played a bunch of overtime and then the throwing, but the pace they're running so many plays per game that believe it or not Travis H and as much as it's kind of a disaster. If you just look at straight snaps, right? Travis H and his believe are not ninth and snaps total. Now part of that's over time in the Saints having more drives, but he has more snaps than Chavante Williams or Chubar Bucky Irving just raw snaps. I'm like, the Saints offense because it's running so many plays and Tyler Schuck looks really competent. Even with the left tackle going down, I'm like, I think he's a huge buy low. So all this to say is I kind of think Camaro is also a viable player because I'm like, damn, well if Camaro's going to play and the Saints are going to be throwing this much, I'm like, Camaro might get a lot of catches. So 14 touches in this game. That's the thing. I'm like, he doesn't look great, but I don't think he looks, I don't think Camaro will necessarily stop playing. I, you know, it probably is his last season, maybe. I don't think he looks like great Alvin Camaro standards, but I think he's serviceable. Yeah, he's still Alvin Camaro. It's kind of crazy. He probably is the most season long value. But if you're really in a pinch for this week, if Jackie Dobbins comes back and these people come back, you could play Alvin Camaro. I, you know, it's a fascinating thing, the ETN thing. If you should go after him because you could probably get him for very cheap right now. And I have the discourse on line. It's like he's one of the worst picks and drafts. And he's in a complete time share. And others are like, this is an obvious by low. You should go after him now. I think it's a by low. I think it's a room. I think you should always remember this time of year, how much things can change, like even within one season. This is a thing I want to be better about next off season when we talk about fantasy of like, we're like, this is what he did last season. This many points. It's like, dude, it's a roller coaster, man. It goes up and down in the vibes. And for any player, you look at like Bryce Young last year, just in December, beats the Rams. And then the Monday night football against the Niners, we were like, maybe he shouldn't start. And then they almost want to play off game against the Rams and like a five week stretch. So it's this simple. They are paying him 14 million a year. Like, like, he's going to play. And he's not like, he looks good kind of. So I, I, I'm, they gave him four or 12 million dollars per year for two years, like he's going to play. So I think Travis H, it's a by low. But that doesn't mean Cameras not a viable player. So we're landing on Jonah Coleman, correct? Yeah. I think he's the, yeah. That means it's time. Wait, hold on. I have an important announcement. Okay. Today's showdown time is presented by car heart. Oh, nice. Every showdown needs a stage, which means someone has to build the stadium, prep the field, assemble the goalpost, even make the footballs. Okay, bone. Johnny is breakfast was an Earl Grey tea and a Greek yogurt. Lovely. Said he's getting a colonoscopy. Oh, I mean, that sounds healthy. Yeah. Clean. So John, so the last episode, Sunday night, the band we did or the song at the end was ZZ top was the band. So John writes that ZZ top famously played the Lagrange tour in 1974, where 80,000 fans unexpectedly showed up and the concert resulted in a riot at the University of Texas where the fans were upset that they had to pay for a barbecue plate that was not included in the ticket price of the concert. They started a riot. Yeah. How much money was the concert ticket? What year was this? 1974 for ZZ top. So the concert ticket price did not include a barbecue plate? No, it did not. And people were like screw this. I'm spending so much money. You're telling me barbecue's not included? That is what I'm telling 74. I don't know how much was the concert ticket? 80,000 people showed up. Yeah. I guess I don't know what that means with 80,000 people showed up. But yeah. I guess it means paid for a ticket. All right. Wow. I could I kind of have no idea where to go. Same here. All right. This was 50 years ago. Yeah. You guys ready? Yeah. All right. Three, two, one, seven, 60 dollars, 60. Yeah. I have to say something. I wrote down my guess as a head of time because I don't want to be accused of anything. So Mike, I guessed two. Two dollars. Yeah. I guess you used to be like a quarter. Well, 50 years ago, a popular band, two dollar ticket for a month. Well, here's what I went on. My dad always talked. My dad went to college for like $250 a semester or something or $400 a semester. And I was like, okay, well, if my dad went to college for $300 a semester, 50 years ago, then like what did a concert cost? And I kind of just went with two bucks. Houses used to cost like $12,000. Yeah. That meant it's so funny. That meant they're like, should we buy this apartment? It's upper the West Side Central Park. It costs $28,000. My initial thought was $20. And I was like, no, it's got to be more than that if they're pissed that food wasn't included. But maybe I know that's the only. I said to you said 60. What did you say? What did you say? Well, I mean, minimum wage was like a dollar 20, I think. I said seven. The good job. The answer was eight. DK. Well, yeah. All right. Yeah, eight bucks. All right. That was my bad. That was my bad. All right. I'm going to take Jonah Coleman. There's a couple of guys that I want to mention if you guys don't say I'm going to go for it. Let's get into this. I mean, 14 touches. He's a veteran. The team really trusts him. It's probably the right answer. I don't love it. But yeah, that's that's what I would go with. No, I'm just playing the Raiders this week at home. The only other person I'd go with is like Caleb Johnson. He's on the Packers. I'm a little torn. I think I worry the Packers are one of those teams that the run game will suck. The Packers offensive lines devastated. I was going to say Caleb Johnson too. I'm glad you mentioned him because I think, uh, and this is something that can happen ever you game. You see, like, Ramondra Stevenson and Travy on Henderson had this last last week too, but Marshawn Lloyd, I think fumbled late. And then Caleb Johnson was the one who started over time period. And he looked better to me. I just saw like he also fumbled. They got the ball back on his fumbles. So maybe that matters. Um, but he's just running downhill. And though, I thought he looked pretty good in the scheme that they were running. Um, and maybe he ends up being the starter for them going forward because Marshawn Lloyd to me has not looked that good. Caleb Johnson, the issue with Caleb Johnson to me, well, the upside to me is easy, which is they play the Falcons on Thursday at football. And then the Packers play the Bucks, the Bears, Dallas, Detroit, like teams you could run on Carolina. Like those are like, you can run on the Bears, Cal, like he would have 10 days to acclimate. And then you have Bucks, Cowboys, sorry, Bucks, Bears, Cowboys, Lions. That could be a good thing for the Packers. My problem is, if you have a running back who's banged up and you have to make the decision on Thursday, you're probably not going to play them like just realistically, like you're not going to necessarily want to speculate and put Caleb Johnson in for Thursday football. Here's my other issue at the Packers. And this is just why I'm concerned about the Packers overall. So I couldn't believe this Rob Demovsky, he has been at this. The Packers used all eight of the offensive linemen that were active on Sunday. They were literally had three linemen get hurt. So they were down to their final five offensive linemen. Then one of them got a stinger. So the offensive staff for the Packers on Sunday had to talk on the sideline about whether they would put Tucker Kraft in at offensive line. All right. Craig, who you got? Tank Bigsby. All right. Can't believe I'm a Johnson. I think Tank is good. I think Emma Johnson should be on rosters. I think you absolutely should add him. I mean, they already talked about Andy Reed was talking about how he's going to earn more opportunities. But again, if if Kenneth Walker gets hurt, look at Johnson has like lead winning potential. If Caleb Johnson wasn't playing on Thursday night, I might have taken him because I do think him playing the Falcons and him looking like the best running back on the team is not nothing. And Tank Bigsby is a one maybe two-week thing knock on wood if sequence not that hurt. But there's a chance that Caleb Johnson is the best season long pick on this list. There is a chance of that. Yeah. And I think that he will just kind of be the starter, but the problem is will he just kill Johnson just a starter for she can't run. Yeah, we'll see what happens. The other guy to mention real quick is a manual Wilson for the Seahawks to Darian Price. I was calling Jadarian Price to Jadarian for this whole time. I think it's actually Jadarian. That's what they were saying on these broadcasts. Anyway, Jadarian Price shoulder injury. clear if it's going to make him miss any time, Mike. Donald said today that it was not that serious of a shoulder injury, but he could miss time. You think I thought you'd add a manual Wilson? I think a manual Wilson looked good in this game. He was mainly garbage time against the Cardinals. That's a huge caveat, of course. But I thought he looked good. He's going to be their early down guy if a Jadarian price can't play. And then I think colonial come in and play like third down, long down and distance, things like that. All right. Showdowns like that could never happen without the people who make it possible. A lot of receiver injuries this week too. TG. More got hurt really quickly into the game. Jaden Reed had a really scary looking injury on basically the pack or second play of the game. Just a lot of injuries this week in general. DK, who's the number one receiver you would add on waivers after week two and early three? I think it's pretty clearly Denzel Boston of the Browns. He went for five catches, 95 yards, and touched down this week after scoring a touchdown in his first game last week. I thought to show him lots and played a lot better. And most importantly, Denzel Boston is playing almost every snap. He's played 93% of the snaps this year. He's running by far the most routes on the team. His role in the offense is, I think, pretty well established, at least through the first two weeks. He looks great. I really liked him coming into the draft. He's made a ton of noise in training camp and preseason. And so far he's been awesome. So I would say at the very least you have to grab him and kind of just see if this is real after two weeks. I echo that. He basically has like top 10 usage at the position. If you look under the hood a little bit at like route participation in targets per route. He's like top 10, top 15 in terms of how the music and how much he's out there. And I agree with everything DK said. I liked him coming out of the draft. I think he looks good immediately. He was good in preseason. He's catching touchdowns. He's like the only guy in this team that's making big plays. So as much as it pains me to recommend a Brown's wide receiver, they are playing Caroline of this week. So you could probably do worse. I was thinking about Denzel Boston too. It's weird because on one hand, you're going with the Browns. I actually think to Sean Watson played fine this week. Like he actually did, okay. It was the best he's looked at a minute. He was a lot of short passes, but yeah. Yeah. I mean, the thing is it was competent, but by his standard as the worst quarterback, we've seen in years. It was like Denzel Boston had one huge play where he broke a tackle run for touchdown. And if not, it wouldn't four catches for like 30 yards. But that's the point is he's like Nico Collins or Tenerovic Millen. Where Denzel Boston's a giant receiver who can break tack, who can break tackles, get open, win contested catches, but still like get yards after the catch. You can move for his eyes really nicely. The problem is with the Browns. I think if there are five receivers this week that you can add on waivers that I think are widely available, that I think are more likely to outscore Denzel Boston than not. Like I kind of think Denzel Boston is the riskiest receiver to just get one catch for 18 yards this week. But also Denzel Boston, I think is by far the most talented player available at receiver. And over the course of the season, you do want to bet on young, really, really talented people. So that's why Eileen Boston. But it is like like dude, we can go through the names, but I have five people that I think could slightly outscore him this week. I totally agree with you, Hi Fitz. It's a risk to grab a guy on the Browns, whose offense can be completely miserable in any given game. And then again, you know what I talked about all off seasons, like later in the season, they start playing that home games, the weather's terrible. I think all their games down the stretch are outside. And so that is obviously a concern. But I'm basically just marrying the steady drum beat of praise that we've seen from him basically since July, and if you read the draft, the real life draft right now, if you read to the real life draft right now, it was Denzel Boston, a top 20 pick in the real life draft. I think absolutely. Yeah. That's what this is. I mean, that's what we thought he would be. He fell in the draft. I think the Browns are like, Oh, he's still here in the second round. Like we have to take him even after they took Casey, Concepcion. And by the way, Casey, Concepcion is also playing a lot, but they're kind of using him for those shorter plays. I think that's why it's kind of hurt fan in a little bit to start the season is they're trying to get Casey, Concepcion manufacture touches now. And so that's I think kind of what made fans so good last year. And I don't know. Again, it's the Browns grain of salt, but I'm just betting on the talent and, you know, basically the production out of two games. All right. Craig, I think it's time. It's time for the Denzel Boston showdown time. All right, big money, big money. No way. He's no way. All right. This one's from Matthew and Houston. Matt. Matt. Matt, you're our guy. trivia. Matt says, my dad has always enjoyed another sport on Sunday, PBA tour bowling. Oh, wow. Okay. Yeah. I always wondered who was watching that. And I assumed 97% of the people watching the ESPN bowling had the ESPN free game show on and then let it running. And it was bowling. I love it. I was like, I didn't know. I was watching the bowling association. Is that PBA? I know there's no. Yeah. The game culture is much on the peak on the Pacific time zone. But if you had the ESPN one on and you left it on for like, I feel like my entire life, it was bowling would come on at one o'clock. Sure. So how much, how much, you know how the, what's the sideways movie kind of like ruined, um, Merlot for like the international market. How much on the, on the opposite side of that, how much do you think the, who do you think you are, I am guy, help the bowling association in terms of like getting people like you cited about it. A lot. He undid all the damage that King pin did. Oh, God. Come on. Oh, hey, oh. No, I enjoyed King pin on my Craig. Oh, shut up. He said it was dog shit. He's actually lying out of his teeth, but that's fine. He fell asleep, which is arguably worse. Yeah. I don't think falling asleep is bad. I think the problem is when I woke up, I forgot I had been watching it and went about my day. Yeah. That's the problem. It is fun. It's fun. The movie was hilarious. You probably wouldn't have fallen asleep. It's hard to fall asleep when you're laughing. Do you know my honest review of the Odyssey was the next day, I forgot I had seen it to like two o'clock in the afternoon. And I remember thinking about it at all, I didn't, I just completely forgot I had seen the movie until like the mid afternoon. Um, did you like the Odyssey or King? No more, uh, you know, closer and run time than you would have thought. Yeah. I know. I can go along. Look. It's a good movie. I think if you guys watch the movie with me, you'd have liked it, Mark. I think that's probably true. With that laugh, I could read the phone book with you. It's contagious. Uh, okay. So Matt said, Matthew says, my question, how many perfect game 300s have been televised on the PBA tour and its entire 64 year run of being televised? So 64 years of PBA television, how many times have people build a sensational question? How often, how like often is are these PBA matches taking place? Is there like 10? I don't know. I don't know. Like a hundred a year. No clue. Okay. I want to know what the tour is like, like, is it an eight city tour? Are we talking like they go all over the country? Are people are pros hitting 300 all the time or is it like pretty hard to do? No clue. I made my guess, but I honestly didn't even think to ask how much they are bowling. Well, that's part of the, that's part of the genius of these questions is it's fucking impossible. Um, so 64 years. I'm making it less impossible. If you notice, I'm trying, I'm doing less, how many atoms are in the universe? I'm trying to make them somewhat do that. I appreciate that. Right, right, right. Um, all right, whatever. I have a number. So it's a 64 year history of the PVA. Oh my gosh. Okay. I think I'm ready. Three, two, one. Three hundred. Three hundred. Three hundred. I guess low. Craig guessed high. I said 120. Like it's Devonte Smith and Don Tavi and Wix, but if Goddard's out, like there's been a history of when it was AJ Brown, Devonte and Goddard, anytime Goddard is out, Devonte Smith would go crazy and Devonte Smith being out Goddard would go crazy. We'll see how much, but the passing, it gets distributed around. And so I do feel like Wix and Devonte will end up with a lot of the passing this week. And so they're, and also the Eagles are playing the Bears. And even with Tyson Beige, like the Bears defense is bad. And so I know the Eagles are going to want to run the ball, run, run, run. But like I, I just think Wix is competent to get five catches, 74 yards, like he just looks good and the, we'll see, you know, the drops are always a thing. Marcus Murray is going to start for Washington, but I don't want to play a backup quarterback for Seattle. Generally, Marcus Murray Oda has upside as a Russian quarterback, but I don't like that. Beijing, even Beijing versus Philadelphia is not ideal, but I'd rather do that than Murray Oda versus Seattle. I feel like there's no way that's going to go well. Totally, yeah. And then also Kyler Murray is going to play versus the Bucks. It's Kevin O'Donnell announced that. So Kyler, very possible is available in your league. Like, people might have never had him or caught him because he got hurt. But if Kyler's available, like, you know, if you brush young and Tyler Schuck are gone, yeah, you can check Kyler instead of Tyson Beijing. So I think between, I feel like between those options, someone is there, but I would avoid Mariotta. But yeah, I think Jayden Kaleb believes he's not gonna play this week. Defenses, I never wanna just go on the percentages of how rostered they are, just because there are plenty of very competitive leagues where people drop defenses. I want the Vikings defense is available in plenty of leagues. I've seen just 'cause people didn't want them. People saw the Bears score 59 points a week one, and they cut the Vikings 'cause they didn't want to play the Bears defense. The Bears offense. So the Vikings defense is kind of maybe available in your league, and they're playing the Bucks and Brian Flores is like clearly just having an incredible season. It's a defensive coordinator, and I think there were questions about the Vikings D 'cause they lost some players. And I kind of feel like to Sean's gonna be home and try to rip it in front of the home crowd.
