We had the kind of chaotic day where just go down young man, we had the kind of chaotic day where this is a Marcel Reed podcast. We had the kind of chaotic day where I don't even know if Rich Rod running all over a rank team is even going to make the cut, I mean, we've got a lot to get into here on this fantastic week three Saturday night, yeah, we are like moments ago, the game came to a conclusion. Sam Levitt picked off in the end zone, a pendulum that swung back and forth. How about for Michael? I thought about Michael, you know, Michael Snowden joined us on the on the lock spot on Thursday. He was the winner of the auction, you know, to join the lock spot. We appreciate that, the charity auction, and what a night they must be having starting right now, Tom, where do you, how do you want to pull this apart, because I think we have to sit in the moment. There's a lot that we want to talk about, but Ole Miss 32, LSU 24, Lane looked like he was going to just rip their hearts out again. I mean, did you, were you headed that way? No, I was, I don't know if you, I wasn't like convinced LSU was going to win the game when the comeback started, but I was, you know, I was happy that they were making a game of it because honestly, for the most of the first half, I thought it was going to be a pretty boring blowout. I thought we wouldn't have much of a fun game to be talking about tonight, but I'm, I always had, I mean, I had more faith than jambless from the very start, and it's like even though he wasn't, like, he got off to a slow start in the second half, I felt like at some point, he was going to get things back in order and he was going to leave him down the field for a drive to know to put them back ahead, and that's what happened. But I, I do think it was encouraging, like Sam Levitt very clearly early in this game was not ready. He was nervous. He was jittery. Yeah. He was, the nerves were very much like he was dropping back and taking off immediately. And like whether there was pressure there or not, it's like he had decided before he snapped the ball. I'm going to do three step drop and then run for my life. And it was really throwing that LSU offense out of rhythm. And then it took him a while to settle down and we saw it once he settled down, like his legs are a nice bonus, but he can throw the football a little bit. Once he settled down, he made some really nice throws, and it, but it just took him a little too long. And by the time he did, you thought maybe it was too late, but LSU worked its way back in. And just, I mean, I don't, that was just an incredible football game, Trinidad Jambless made plays when he had to make plays. I continue to watch every single week when they play and he just makes throws that, you know, we talk about our, we talk about Dante Moore coming back. He would have been the number two pick in the draft. Daryl and Mensa is going to be going very early in the draft. He's my QB one and I just don't see anybody else who is able to make throws that he makes on a regular basis, both on, you know, on platform and off platform in schedule and off schedule. It's just like he puts a little too much zip on them at times. That's really his one flaw and it kind of hurts his accuracy with some of these throws. But his, his ability to put the ball and zip it by guys without, you know, like the, the one touchdown he threw where he kind of held the safety off with his eyes and he just threw a dart right above the linebackers outstretched hand into his receiver in the end zone. It was just a beautiful throw, the kind of thing. I just don't see a lot of other kids making in this level. And if he was six three, there'd be no question he was the number one pick in the NFL draft, but he's six feet. That's really the only knock you have on him, but just an incredible performance for Ole Miss, an incredible win for Ole Miss and also peak golding deserves a lot of credit because my wonder about this team coming in, golding being a defensive coordinator. You never know how they're going to approach a game, you know, in defensive coordinator sometimes tend to have, you know, defensive coordinator tendencies. They get really conservative in big spots. He hasn't shown any of those and I think that he's also proven he's got kind of a brain on him in that when they scored that touchdown at the end, like Kirk and Chris are talking about analytics while they're going for two. The reason they went for two is because they knew Lane was going to go for two if he went down and scored a touchdown. So they're like the extra point doesn't really matter because you know, so we have to get this two points because Lane will go for two if we don't. So they got it and then Lane had to go for two, but of course it didn't score the touchdown. So just his aggressiveness and his like for thought, his ability to think ahead and strategize is what the other team's going to do. Very impressive. Golding, he's been there for what five, six games now. He's got a lot of huge wins already. You know what, Bud White, I mean, all the fault starts you would think that we're LSEs defense on the two point try. I mean, goodness, guys, you know what, but now's a great time for us to remind you that this is a reaction show like all is a reaction shows are brought to you by our very good friends at Monello. All right. Say it. All right. So we weren't even popped in rolling yet. Okay. There we go. Who has who has more big wins in their career? Pete Golding or Lane Kivin? Pete. Pete. I don't think. Right. It's not really much of a comparison. I think Lane Kivin's a great coach, honestly, but like it's kind of wild that goldings got to be a more great wins than Lane Kivin does. To the top spot on Trinidad, right, it's, it's just the quick draw, man. If he was in like, you know, 18, 20s, I don't know, Laredo, Texas, that guy's winning every duel out there. It's like, all right, 10 steps turn around and you're dead. Like he's just, he just like, man, like the time it takes for him to go from identifying the guys open for the ball being out is just like, as an opposing DC, it's got to be just so frustrating, man. Like it just, that is just crazy. And like they won this game really in the first half, you know, like points in the first half count as well. And you know, credit the LSU for their courageous comeback Trinidad was 21 of 27 for 242 in the first half. And honestly, I didn't think LSU's defense played that poorly in the first half. But I don't think they played that much better in the second half. Like they changed some things out there in the third quarter that they played well. They brought a little more pressure. But a lot of those throws in the first half were not wide ass open. It was just Trinidad, like just firing at pens, man, and, and, and sticking it, you know, it's like, geez. Like if he's going to play like this, all right, it's, it's why you're scared to bet it under this game. Honestly, because you saw, you saw the playoff run. You know, ask Kirby Smart, you saw the end of the game there against Louisville and then you saw it tonight. Like, he wasn't quite as good in second half with the arm, but then the legs came up super clutch with some of the design runs and, like, this is a scary good for me, man. Like, I think he's, like, legitimately better than he was last year. How do you give the credit and the blame for the way things were going early with LSU failing to find success on offense? This is an Ole Miss defense that I think a lot of us identified in the run up as the liability, that of the four units here, that was maybe the one, especially with the Louisville game. We'll get to the cards later, but like with the Louisville game as our data point, it kind of felt like we're like, all right, well, I don't know if Ole Miss is going to be able to get stops. How did you see that early on where LSU just was not able to generate a lot? I thought some of the pressure stuff that Ole Miss was running was really good. They also, like, LSU's offensive line had not really been tested, you know? Clemson doesn't really have dudes up front like they used to have. Also, Clemson's best offensive tackle was suspended for that LSU game. So Ole Miss has some real bodies on the defensive line, and this is the first time we've really seen, like, LSU's offensive line actually be challenged by it. I imagine this is probably what they'd look like some days in practice against their own LSU defense. So, like, if you're late, it's probably, okay, like, there's some stuff here we probably can't run. We're going to have to figure out some stuff. We're going to have to run Levit. I think more than we had planned to run him in this game. And, you know, I mean, credit to them for making some nice adjustments there in the second half, and, you know, for obviously scoring, you know, what they got to touch on in the first half. But, like, they kind of lost the game in the first half. It was 24 to 7, going to halftime. And when you have trend of dad, the way I was thinking about was like, all right. They're good for like at least one hero, he tried to add drive and probably a field goal. I know I think they only got what just just the one drive But it was enough also on the two point Do you think they were trying to get LSU to blow their final time out and then LSU jumped and like oh? We may want to go for this Possibly if you if you run it out you take the five-yard penalty you kick the extra point there's not a real big difference In your futile accuracy right from you know from the two first from the seven I thought they were just trying to get them to burn the final time out and then they're the LSU jumping they jumped again Shoot at this point might as well go. That's it's possible. I want to give them more credit than that I want to say he was like playing playing space chess Yeah, that's kind of what I think I that's what I think I think that they're doing that full The princess bride. Well now you think that I think that you think that I think you know that they they would sort of hit that level in terms of the Pete Lane battles. I mean what they talk for 25 minutes earlier this week, you know It's still text all the time. I mean, you know that speaking of that like when they were goofing around like did you see the pre-game? I'm like they look like gold and was tickling him and like when they went to shake hands for like if you're an old miss fan Does that kind of piss you off a little bit? Yeah, I think you want a little more of like the pro wrestling like hey man. Yeah, like at least pretend that we hate each other for for today Yeah, like you won the game, so they're gonna forget about it But if they had lost and then you would have seen that all that And see okay, he was just still he's playing he's playing Puttin his butt before the game. I mean we lost man. Hey, so a gosh I'm gonna do something that that's gonna embarrass myself, but it might make you laugh So it's worth it. He got b-roll Mogged. All right. He got b-roll Mogged laying new when the camera was gonna be running for the clip because Pete Golding's a rookie. He don't know when that to keep an eye on that camera because that's not shot right then, right? That was clipped 45 minutes ago, right? Pete's got to have better camera awareness To know when the cameras are capturing for what they're gonna feed into the broadcast I mean, that's that's the thing is like Lane probably knew and Lane probably knew what it would look like Lane's experienced at this Pete will figure it out. I mean Nick was great at doing the I'm standing my place. I'm not giving you anything, but I'm being show me and talking with my hands, you know I might do a little pat on the back So I'm gonna say that was Lane sort of big in it big up in him to make him look like the tickle monster and the freak let's look at this all this hatred in the rivalry. Oh good to good to go Dude That was that like Shout out Will Eccles I mean that guy just dominated for Ole Miss like that that was to have your best events of player Who was a monster last year had been like good in moments this year, but like wasn't dominant against Louisville Mashed up against probably LSU's biggest weakness on the offensive line, which is that guard spot And just have him eat like that. That's just Yeah, the massive massive mismatch there. Okay, so what about the If you're LSU you're disappointed, but not panicking or because this is Again, like 51 to 10 against Clemson. What does that do for me now? I I think you are Not panicking, but you're margin for error has shrunk quite a bit now If you look ahead to the future schedule, which striker thankfully has put up here on the screen I mean and it looks a lot more winnable after today and honestly like after they played for about 40 minutes against errors on the state You know Kentucky still looks pretty winnable obviously. You know Mississippi State I think like honestly like based on on how how Camario played today you're very happy to have that game in Baton Rouge Auburn, I think you go in there expecting to score like 60 Somehow which which that was wild You know Bama. I think that's a worry, right? Like are you you're probably favorite rally Bama in Baton Rouge, but Probably not by as much as you would have been you know had you won this and I you put it look well Texas obviously is a worry at Tennessee I don't know. I mean we'll see like Georgia Tech That's Tennessee's good way at this point and text kind of awful. So I still think if you get 10 and 2 you're good And I think at 9 and 3 you're dead in the water. So you can lose one more if you lose two more You're Brian Kelly and Brian Kelly got fired for going 9 and 3 and he did not have a $50 million roster My concern is like I'm not totally worried about my team, but while the Texas A&M game looks easier Kentucky looks more difficult Kentucky did beat in and Kentucky was kind of hanging around with Alabama for a half last week before it kind of just wore out Mrs. Sippy State looks tougher Auburn not that concerned about Alabama. Yeah, Texas yet at Tennessee won't be easy I think what I'm looking at here though Like of the games left on my schedule. I feel like I've got the better quarterback In most of them outside of I mean who knows what Keeling Russell's gonna look like by early November He might just be one of the top five cubies in the country by that and the way things are going, but I don't think I don't think lev is better than arch. I think I would take lev it over But would you take him over Kamario right now not today not not always playing today, man. Yeah, I saw both those quarterbacks today I'd rather have Kamario Taylor today than save lev it. I mean that's concerning to me Now the rest of Miss Sippy State's team no, but Kamario makes that game scary right like like I think you watch that Miss Sippy State's down 13 nothing in Columbia and you still felt like I don't know maybe I'm crazy I still felt pretty good Miss Sippy State like they should not be this price life honestly like like So actually on a camp block and I'm anything special at receiver Miss Sippy State has a better quarterback like Let's see how this plays out Oh, no, I'm not good. I'm not good out anybody, but there were there a few people in the CBS sports slack that were Right now off Kamario in the Bulldogs when they were down 13 nothing. They're like oh, I guess that was a fluke I was like uh-oh uh-oh Don't listen me me and Shane Beamer got the same string being arms as soon as I saw him doing that big let clap You know trying to fire the crowd up. I was like oh gosh Oh, no Yes, this is this might turn the other way really quickly and it and that's Kamario is too good, you know, you just You can't you can't bury that for the um for the Ole Miss side. I mean you've got a win against LSU You've got a win against Louisville We're going to do re-ranking the top 25 later in terms of you know where they stack up against the very best teams But And this is it's tough not to be excited about the work that's been done What's what can still be accomplished um in your opinion you you've got the two best wins in the country right now Right now nobody has a better resume than you do I think Ole Miss is getting in at nine and three if little if little what keeps looking at like this Then you have a tremendous non-comfortable like if they I don't think you're going to go nine and three But if they did go nine and three I think they're going to get in I think they could go nine and three you lose to Texas Georgia and Florida. Yeah, no I mean, it's certainly within a realm of possibility Right, I mean that's the thing because I just did that real easy with the road trip to a Florida team that's buzzing right now and the number one and Uh, number two teams in the country I agree. I mean like this This is a heck of a win for them. Like you have have this one in pocket. That's nice Hey They are a lot better than I thought they were going to be With the secondary started playing like something today And like that that was our real big question big game breakdown because all offseason the narrative and and it I think it was Made sense in the offseason. Okay, we brought in these guys. We're healthier in the secondary two We should have more cohesiveness. We're gonna have fewer busts It's Louisville. Uh, that was not actually the case. You know, and so I think there was a major question like You know, could lanes key skiing guys wide open and I mean how many times did that else you just have dudes run it free Deep in the secondary lane is always good for one or two of those and Off top of my head. I mean a lot was happening tonight. I was you know It was very tough to keep up with everything head on a swivel. Yeah, but head on a swivel that kind of day, but I didn't have I saw great contested catches right You know, like I saw some gates after the cat. He had any like like if he did scheme them the TV The TV I'm not obviously the game just ended so I'm not a chance to watch the the all 22, but like I don't think he had any of the TV showed or if he did love it didn't see him No, yeah, exactly. There were no converted plays that were very obvious scheme of bust type situations We start going out is a big deal is a big deal by the way like because he's their best receiving option and he's pretty special And when he was in there he showed it, but like I think that they they have a bunch of like number two's at receiver this year And without him that's a very different offense. Wait. You said Trinidad you meant trade-as trade-as. Yeah. Yes trade-as green. Yeah Dealing with something right Holly Rose on the report about that He got high load. Yeah On the leg and it looked like he was grabbing the knee. I mean I'm not a doctor, but like His head was down like he was pretty dejected like Coming out the sideline who to me it looked like oh like one of his reactions. I know I'm not coming back in the game The last hit. But wasn't he already sort of like he was already dealing with something according to Holly Rose. Yeah, Holly Rose from the first half. Yeah, right No, I can't overlook. Come on lacy, too He was, he had a shoulder injury. So Ole Miss is going to be dealing with that too, and all likelihood. - I was thinking about that in terms of the pucker factor. As you know, like all of a sudden it's like, Lacey's not in the game and LSU storming back. And oh gosh, and now Lane's going to break our hearts again. So I've got no emotional investment in the Lane Ole Miss breakup, but I guess for everybody there in Oxford is, you get to have your night tonight. Anything else on the vibes or sort of like emotional factor of this that's standing out or that stood out during the game? It was nice, I'll say this. It was very nice when the football started. It was a good football game between two top 10 teams. We spent a lot of time talking about the not football. - Yeah. - You know, and I just, it was good when the football started. So we'll continue to spend that thing forward. All right, let's continue to let the tailgate keep rocking and rolling. We got a lot of things on the agenda here. - Louisville or where we going? - Yeah, buddy, we gotta go to the list. There was a moment that truly I think is among the most stunning moments of the last 25 years of college football. Yeah, I just think we need to go ahead. It's not fun, not fun for anybody, but except for Barton Simmons, who actually is a big part of the cover-through podcast. So let's celebrate Barton and definitely not talk about anything else and more. - Next. - Back here on the cover-through podcast and the statistic ESPN put it up on the broadcast in the last 20 seasons of college football. If you had the ball and the lead entering the final 10 seconds, your record was 1046 and one. 20 seasons of football that have been 1046 teams who had the ball with the lead in the final 10 seconds. And I was elated to find out this reference because Tom, it's exactly where my mind went. I was like, this is trouble with the snap. Like this is that unlikely. And sure enough, when like the ESPN stat gave the backup, it was 2015 Michigan, Michigan state is the anomaly here. I, for those who are unaware, if somehow you have not gotten a chance to see this. NC state intercepted Jared Curtis's attempt to score the game winning touchdown and had the ball inside their own five yard line. And as CJ Bailey attempted to take a safety with the three-point lead, the ball was knocked free. It was stripped and recovered in the end zone for a touchdown. Now adding insult to injury because we do a host of show once a week called the lockspod. - Yeah. - The spread was three or three and a half. And because an extensive review determined that not only had the ball been freed, but it had been freed and recovered for a touchdown with one second left, one second again, it meant that they had to kick it. - Kick it to the point. - That, that's, that's one of like the all-time kick in the dick bad beats, man. Like, just, especially like if you had three and a half. - Yes. - No, like holding that was just. - Hey, what do you mean there's a second left? (laughing) - I did the HQ post game for this. And I told Tommy Tran, I said, you know, I've been covering the sport professionally for 20 years. Okay, and I was watching the sport long before I started covering it for work. So that's a lot of Saturday afternoons where my ass has been on the couch doing nothing but watching college football for the entire day. And I have never seen that before. And that is the beauty of this sport. There, no matter how many dumb things you see in college football, there's always something dumber. Just waiting to come around the corner and show you, nah, you wanna see stupid. I got stupid for you. And like this to me, it's like probably Mario not kneeling, but this was not a coaching decision. Like this was actually the right decision. Like let's just take the safety and run out the clock. It was CJ Bailey with the day, like what are you doing? And he stutters 'cause he must have, was he looking at a clock? Like I mean, it's just, yeah, he started to go down and then he realized I had to kill more time. But the problem was when he started running again, he started running forward, run backwards. Run away with the ball. Like, oh, like not even tucked it is for a while. I know, just hold it like this and move around. Like, yeah. Oh, man. All he had to do was run backwards and then like pulling Orlovsky, step out of the back of the end zone. There's a safety game's over. But he ran towards the tacklers with the ball out. - I mean, I think part of this is on coaching. I do kind of expect that a guy that's played that much football in Bailey can do better than that. Like that was just really kind of insane. I'm like still stunned, man. This is bizarre. And now I wonder if I can sense he's going to go in the tank. - I don't know how I mean. - Like that. That's got a quick watch written all over it, man. With the way that season's going downhill. I know it's a door and team, they'll probably fight back. That's a hard one to get over. - The, I've not gotten a chance to check in with my friends, Joe Ovius and Joe Gileo. I'm sure that their reaction was electric. Taking the phone calls and hearing how NC State fans because Wolfpack's not for soft people. NC State shit is real, you know? I mean, it's just like sometimes, man. You just, you can't believe the way that it goes down. - And they had this game, this game was lost before then, but it was lost there, right? Like it, they should not, they, they, they, they, they should, like it was what, 27 or 24 to 7, 27 to 7 at some point. - Yeah. - Third quarter. - Yes, the failures extend beyond the final sequence. But certainly the final sequence encapsulates a lot of frustration that I think, you know, it's, if you've been following NC State football, the Philip Rivers years with the random lost to Maryland. You know, you're, you get in there with J. Sam and Nihem Hines and Chubb and like all these dudes and you lose the Boston College on a pass interference penalty in the end zone. You know, it's just the wildest, stupidest results along the way seem to prevent that engine from turning over, right? (imitates car engine) but it just like never quite turns over. Shoo. Tough stuff. - Hey, congrats to Vanderbilt, a big win for them. This one's, this one's a ball game according to Bud Elliott, as we told you. - They know it not earlier, they will. - 100%. I mean, also look like Vandy tried to give them this game at the end, like that's a first down interception from the 16 with, when you have two time outs in pocket. Like that's a very fresh move. Also, it wasn't Curtis there leading Russia as well. - Oh yeah, Vanderbilt, I mean. - I think they got one there, man. I think he's gonna be a stud for them. - He did some, he did some freshmen things and he had a couple throws that were dots. Like he was on this hash thrown to that corner of the end zone and that was something, that's the reason why he's Jared Curtis, and then he just sits back off his back foot, let's it rip, and that's why he's a freshman. - You go from a quarterback who's a card carrying AARP member to a dude who was probably getting to allow it six months ago. There's gonna be an adjustment for the Dave Doran side of this. Did you get a chance to catch this post game press conference? - I didn't know. - Sure, it was rosy. - I'll wait to elaborate too much. Save some for a pun for the review just because we don't need to make this all, especially early in the show with a lot to get to, but he kinda came on. He said there's no reason he should have been touched. Like his instructions were to spend as much time as you can and go down before any contact is made. He should have never been touched. So on one hand, if some fans like, why are you throwing CJ under the bus? And the other side is like, well, I don't know. That was the instructions for her. - That sounds like a coach is pretty tired of CJ Bailey. Being if I'm reading into this and I am like, I, yeah. - Also like, listen, how much is he getting paid? - Bailey? - No, CJ. - Oh, we don't, like, at this point, like, I'm not saying you can rip the kid to new ones, but when the kids screw up and they're getting paid as much as they're getting paid. paid, you can criticize them. - Yeah, it's also like, NC State's kind of like if the A's decided to sign Gianbi in Moneyball, as opposed to letting them walk. You know, and they're having to try to fill everything else around that, 'cause if you're not exactly flush with cash, like you need to be able to keep playing really well. And so far this year, it's, he's not been very good. - Which is why I agree with Bud. I think Quitwatch is a very real thing here. - Yeah, I, yeah, like. - 'Cause that's gonna play a role in that locker room too. When the guy that's getting the money is doing that. - Let's end on a happy note before we turn the page. The Vanderbilt Commodores have won 10 straight home games. - Look at that. - Do you know when the, do you know when the last time Vanderbilt won 10 straight home games? - All right, so did I play seven last year? You're three and over this year? - 19, 28, 19, 29, and 1930. The last time that Vanderbilt football won 10 straight home games was the great depression. Recession indicator, Vanderbilt. - Turned out, the only depression was for Vanderbilt's opponents. - Oh my goodness. Bud Elliott, what'd you see from Marcel Reed today? - I mean, we're, we're, we're bounce passing bubble screens. A and M, honestly had guys open. Even when Terry Bussie went out, like, Craver continued to be awesome for them. - Craver was good. - Like, dude, he's incredible. And like, it makes me wonder, like, okay, if your tech's saying M, and they lost a ton of last year's team. So like internally, I kinda doubt that they had a lot of pressure. Like, hey, we have to be a playoff team this year. But man, like, if they did at that internal pressure, like, they have to know he's not good, right? Like, they got to the playoff last year, kind of in spite of him. And he just not like a, a plus factor in a major conference in quarterback. Like, he, he, just way too many misses on wide open guys. If I'm, if I'm A&M's offense according, I'm just spiking my headset repeatedly. Like, they scheme guys open against Kentucky. And he just blatant terrible misses, like throwing it right to defenders as well. Just brutal, man. Like, like, one of the worst quarterback performances you would see all weekend relative, like, how open guys were. I don't know, I, I. - I think that's fair. It's like, if we were going to break. - I would take Curtis over him. I would take sevens over him. God, I might take Byron Brown over him. - Takes good inches over him. - No doubt. Like, what S C quarterback would you know? I would take follow over him. Like, who would you not take over him? - I, I think that it is fair to grade Marcel Reed and say that today, given his experience as level of success prior, this performance was as underwhelming as an ESC quarterback. - I would not take the Arkansas court over him. - Yeah, but he had misses like, like, he, he played like crap. - Oh, I'm just judging the performance today. But like my expectation for KJ Jackson or AJ Hill, whoever you roll out there, right? - Yeah. - My expectation for either of them is low. But I'm saying Marcel Reed fell short of expectations and underwhelmed more than any SEC quarterback. Maybe Matier, I don't know, like, I just, that game I didn't give a microscope to. I was more like, monitoring it over here on a fifth screen, but one great. - Yeah. - Problem is, like, that's kind of like, four straight, not great games. - Mm-hmm. - He was not good against Arizona State. - No. - Like, they covered, but that was not his doing. - That's a team. - He made a couple of nice throws in the second half. I shouldn't say, like, every throw was bad. - Absolutely. Like, yeah, like, if you go back to last year, he struggled against Miami in the playoffs. He struggled against Texas, you know, in the last game of the regular season. The week before that they had played Sanford. But the week before that, you'll remember was the South Carolina game where he might have played the worst half of football that any of us have ever seen from a quarterback before rallying in the second half to kind of, you know, play better and finish with, you know, 439 yards and three touchdowns to come back and win the game. But like, the kid we saw in the first half of that South Carolina game is who we're seeing a lot more of in 2026. - And, like, a reasonably decent quarterback shuts the door at Kentucky in like the 20th minute of this game. Like, A&M was getting great looks. They were scheming them open. And he's just missing, like, sizable chunk layoffs. And then I'll, like, just, I mean, you guys saw the fork down play. Guys wide open. If you don't bounce it to him, maybe win the game. I don't know. - The other side of this? - Yeah, can we get a big hell, yeah, for Will Stein? - For sure, huge win for Will Stein. Get a top 10 win on the road this quickly. But also, like, and this is, this is credit to Kentucky 'cause I was not very high on Kentucky at the line of the scrimmage. Like, when I was looking at this team in the off season, trying to figure out how good this team is going to be. And I talked about it last week. How I was kind of concerned that, you know, despite the final score, Arizona State was kind of beating Texas A&M up quite a bit on the line of the scrimmage. Not like dominating them, but they were winning far more than you would expect them to. And Kentucky was winning far more than it probably supposed to be against Texas A&M. So it's like, Marcel Reed is a big problem, I think, for the Aggies. But I also think that they're offensive and defensive lines are not nearly as good as they were last year. And I think they lost their time problem. Yeah, yeah, they needed to read to take a jump, right? The quarterback came back, all the experience veteran pieces on the O'Lide DeLine did not. Like, you need that senior quarterback, who I assume you're paying a pretty good bit for now, could take a jump. Like, if he's the same guy he was against the two decent teams you played last year, then, you know, you're in trouble. Which is why I think all of us went under on their win total. - Mm-hmm. - Oh. - Right, I mean. - I'm up for it too. - Yeah, yeah, you're crazy. Okay, we'll see. - Man, I just, I also went under on Ole Miss stuff, so I'm not gonna feel too great about myself right now. - My general, I'm a goldfish here. Tom, what would you make of Louisville's win? - Hi, listen, I'm very impressed by what I've seen from the Louisville offense, even going back to the Ole Miss loss. They've looked very good. Lincoln has looked incredible. He wasn't brilliant today, but he makes enough throws. He's good enough with his legs to extend plays, and then also just their run game in general with the Brown Brothers is phenomenal, and it's really-- - I mean, Isaac's back. He's good, and he like, he had like two or three plays with the-- - Oh, Evan's the Betsy. - You know, just like, gasp, take your breath away, types of-- - Come on, it's good too though, and then like, so that's all good, but if I'm gonna be honest, the defense stinks. The defense got torn apart by Ole Miss, and the defense got torn apart pretty good here by SMU too, like SMU rushed for-- If you take out the sac yardage, they averaged over six yards per carry in this game. Raphael tore them apart. So that is a concern. - He definitely did. I will say the edge rushers for Louisville came up huge in critical situation and got like some big times, but Lumin was nuts for them. - Oh, they also had some personal foul penalties. I mean, that's like-- - Yeah. - My notepad was foul. - I was very surprised. - They finished with 11 penalties for 110 yards. Very uncharacteristic for Louisville. - So now, five yards, Tom's wish. - No, no, no, no, no, the Louisville experience, this is like straight from early in the game. The Louisville experience, massive fourth down stop with aggressive athleticism, sets up great field position, except for the pick from your personal foul. No, no, don't worry, you still get the ball. We said going into this, if Jeff Brahms gonna get a quality win, if Louisville's gonna get a quality win, this had to be it because of what was left. Now he's got it, now we flip to the other side. They are not a trustworthy team, but they're good. So what happens? There, I mean, my- My official prediction is they're going to lose a game we don't expect them to. They're going to give up like 40 points to a team that probably hasn't scored 40 points I'll season at some point. Tar heels. Yeah, it might be like, yeah, that might be Billy Edwards's best game in college for all we know. Wake for, I mean, I mean, wake for us a little trappy maybe, geolopez and the Robbie Zell offense. You know, we'll see. I think the respect Lincoln's legs makes Brown so much better. Yes. It just holds the backside it like a couple of those runs are like, oh shoot, like they had to respect Lincoln keeping the ball there. It's, I mean, they could certainly lose one, but most of that schedule did not figure we can. Lincoln keen holds is a really like there, there have been a lot of players. This weekend, oh, I'm like, man, that is an awesome fun college quarterback. Yes. I don't need NFL draft brain to be able to say Lincoln keen holds can be a very dynamic, scary, effective game changing college quarterback. I mean, he had two years. He might because I've only got him if, yeah, I don't know where he falls in the red shirt rule where he gets grandfathered in, but I don't know if I've got him at four games. So he's 23. Yeah. No, he's a 23 chip. So he's going to have next year as well, yeah. That's kind of scary. Yep. Are you two years under Brahms? Okay. Okay. What about the SMU side of this? I mean, it was disappointing, like I think SMU's defense is not great. I don't think they're awful. I thought Louisville just had a really nice offensive day. Like that's just quarterback and play call are beyond the same page, explosive running back. And they seem to have hit on all the transfers they took at receiver, you know, McCoy is dangerous, Richardson is dangerous. Like we knew those guys had flashed before, but they're, they're like consistently playing to their level. They got Joliel Skinner playing somewhat consistently, like that's kind of a miracle in itself. Like that, that's, that's with those guys are clicking. That's a really dangerous offense. I mean, where are they dogs? I think if Vottax is going to be tough, yeah, we'll probably talk that game later, well, there are obviously dogs at the Irish, but I just, my, my concern here is, I don't think the, yeah, I don't think the defense is terrible. I think the defense was actually, they didn't get a sack, but they were getting pressure. They couldn't bring King holds down, but they did finish with seven tackles for loss. I mean, really, what ultimately killed us and you was the turnovers, like they had three of them. Yeah. Two interceptions from Jennings. They had the fumble that they lost. And I mean, they lost by 10 on the road with a turnover margin of minus three. Like they're going to regret losing this game because it kind of hurts them a lot when it comes to the tiebreaker scenario, but this is also a team that I think is good enough to win the rest of their ACC games. So if Louisville trips up, it might not matter. I think that if you want to have, if you want to be frustrated with Kevin Jennings, I think that's fair. Yes. Yeah. We bring a lot of up. We bring, I mean, we bring a lot of the unfortunately CJ Bailey's and others like, God, the loyalty of this guy, he ain't going anywhere else. You know, like let him get celebrated and he gets propped up and that's great. And then that just makes it hurt more for the fans, in my opinion, when he's the ones, like, well, you've been our starting quarterback for three years. You know, you've, you've done, you've played a lot of games, why? But you know, it's college football. It happens. And that's, you know, him being on quarterback and just some funky looks. And ultimately, like, what happens is Cinderella, right? You get the rain delay. And Cinderella, but like, you know, clock strikes midnight and Daniels turns back into Daniels. And the offensive line can't hold up for 60 minutes, it held up for like 40 and the defense kind of turns back into what we've seen the defense be for the prior 12/4 of this year. And Keylon, he just makes so many good throws, man, like just off balance, getting it out to, if you're a DC, like, cool, we got him, oh, sweet, we're coming, we're coming free on this pressure. He's like, boom, here's 30 to the wide side of the field off my back foot, totally on, like in stride where we're going to yack on that too. It's like, okay, what the hell do you do with that? So I, I think Bama's really good, you know, floor states studs, played like studs for a lot of the game, you know, Bama has a lot more studs, I guess is the best way I can put this. Thing I hated about the World Cup with the hydration breaks, wasn't that it allowed the television networks to squeeze a commercial break in, halfway through the flow? It was that it gave teams a chance to adjust their strategies, I gave them free time outs. The weather delays today, it's no coincidence to me that a couple of games completely changed. After or weather delay, because it gave Alabama and everybody a chance to adjust what they were doing. So we need lighting delays, can I'm just, just let's give me some, give me some space here. I'm just going to, I'm just going to propose something here. Can we wait until somebody's actually hit by lightning before we decide we have to stop every game because somebody might be hit by lightning because the odds of a person being hit by lightning incredibly low. Lighting delays rules become a completely detached from the actual historical risk. How many people have been hit by lightning at a game or killed by lighting at a football game? I asked G.P.T. to find a documented case of a player of fan being killed by lightning or a division one college ball game in the last 50 years. No results. Couldn't find one. None. None. Meanwhile, lightning deaths in the U.S. have collapsed in the 60s and 70s. You have about 70 to 100 Americans were killed every year by lightning. Today it's closer to 20 or 30 annually. There were no lightning delays when I was growing up watching football and I don't remember anybody being dead. I don't remember anybody getting struck by lightning. He didn't like the risk of heat stroke at some of these games probably greater. Yes. We should take a 30-minute break anytime the sun comes out from behind the clouds. Yeah. Right. This is. No, I mean, making these folks sit in the stands. It's not like it's so dangerous that the people are remaining in the stands because they're like, "This is stupid." You can leave the stands. But Lashley said after the FSU. game that when he was in high school back in Arkansas was like the last time that like there was a power out of JD game and there was a wild delay and they weren't sure what was going to happen and they came back out and the game ended up being 70 to 63, you know, like craziest game you've ever been a part of. The people who are actually a part of the execution of these games are used to delays happens all the time. There's lightning. We're playing we're playing football in the fall in wild temperate. It is not in a vacuum. They are mostly not in stadiums or arenas. You get hit with delays all the time. It's just part of sports outside. So I'm not I'm good. You just could say this. Okay. The Clemson North Carolina game was delayed because of lightning however many miles away from the stadium. It was blue skies when they delayed the Clemson North Carolina game and then guess what came. Keep in mind you there's like seven minutes left in the game. Guess what actually came a half hour later. The storm where the lightning was. The game would have been finished. We could have played the eight minutes. I know I know I know that's all right but because lightning struck 10 miles west we have to get everybody off the field. I think I think Alabama giving up 36 points to Florida State is not nothing. But they also gave up like 180 yards total to Kentucky last week which that result looks better after today because Kentucky moved the ball well on a nm. I also think that like clearly Mike Norvel has a like a vendetta against Alabama because of what happened in the playoff a couple of years ago because Mike Norvel is saving his best for Alabama the last two years. Like he's he's out for he is he's in a go with our second princess bride reference of the day. He is in a go in a go Montoya. You took my playoff appearance to prepare to die. That's what he's trying to do. So what about the Gators? So my take is like this phylo Jones quarterback battle was never a battle at all and they had because phylo looks really good. Do you remember when there was some doubt about Kalani Sataki and whether he was going to be able to cut it at BYU? Yeah. And he just he stuck to it like different fundamentals different foundation you know foundational pieces a very different coach but that's what I see with Jeff Levy. He's just a stuck to he stuck to just doing him and being him and what a huge road win for for this Mississippi State program here which the game the performance what what what stands out the most as we're sitting here Saturday night. That they were I mean this is a team that went on the road last week one by 25 against Minnesota and they come out here and they fall behind early on their second straight road game and they're down two touchdowns and they didn't really seem faced like they're just like okay well we still got a lot of game left we still have a really good quarterback and we'll figure things out and you that that's really promising to see from a team with a young quarterback and a team that's not really used to success that they were not like they weren't bothered by it they were just they were still very confident they still believed that they had every chance in the world to win the game. And then they went out and won the game like they stormed back. It was 31 to 23 by the end of the third quarter. So Camario is, he just looks freaking real. And Lenoris, like there are still the moments where he does something really, really cool and really, really promising. But it's just the mistakes he makes are just so kind of like hitting your head against a wall kind of stuff. And at some point when you've played as many snaps as he has and he's still making those same types of mistakes, you have to just accept, okay, well, this is who he is. And I just, yeah, I think that they're the better team with the better quarterback one. And I didn't think I was going to be saying that about Mississippi State and South Carolina on September 19. He's still the same guy who could not read the same defense for like 40 minutes of that bowl game against Illinois when I was sitting there in his stands with a guy who used to be on Illinois staff and was like, we're in the same call here again, right? Like, I mean, some of his interceptions today, you just can't have their their their backbreakers. And like, he's got a lot of physical talent, but like, the eyes are a talent too. And he just doesn't see it well. And like, just, I mean, that one interception is horrendous. Like, you can't, you can't do that as a senior at home. It's a backbreaker. On Camario, I was really worried about Mississippi State's tackles this year. Like, some of these guys, they took had not been good prior. Guys, he put up that performance today with his, one of his tackles, putting up a 38 PFF grade. Usually that's like, hey, Ola, watch out. Like, that's a lookout block. Like, every other drive that just getting you absolutely rocked and you're fumbling and didn't remember the Titans when they were still being racist. Like, I kind of blocking. Yes. When they had to put in the other guy, okay, he had a 26 PFF grade. Like, Tater's like, okay, yeah, cool. I'll just sidestep this complete lack of a block. It's okay, guys. Yeah. Man, that they he just like total command of this offense completely. Impressive, impressive stuff. I'm not, and tailgate's trying to go ahead and ship him off to LSU next year, which is a fair, fair college football statement. I'm a sit in the now. I'm going to sit in the now because he just shrunk together back to back road power conference wins at Minnesota and South Carolina to not easy places to win. I don't know because they play enough teams. Like to me, South Carolina is not a somebody to get, right? Like, it also has been retired now. I think it's very much within the realm. Yeah. Because I mean, their life doesn't get any easier. No. I mean, who can Mississippi State get? They could get family and start. They can get Oklahoma. Although, do we count that? Worthy of, I think, you know, making sure we dig into this one. Did Texas Tech prove enough to you to assuage some of your doubts? No. No. I mean, this is a good win. Like, don't get me wrong. Getting the win was great and who knows? Like, if they don't send Tommy Castellano out there on the first snap of the game to for a pick. To throw the pick. Dumbest interception that, I mean, just like maybe the game goes in a very different direction because I mean, that definitely played a huge role in Houston jumping out to a 10-nothing lead. Joey McGuire is already said, will him is our QB1? Oh, yeah. Even though he, you're the starting quarterback that you had or at least, I don't know if he was the starter. The quarterback who threw the first pass cost just seven points. Just overall, like, they're a good team, but they are not the team from last year. And I think that's very evident through what we've seen from them through three games. Now, they are 3 and 0. So that's what matters. And they just beat what might be one of the better teams on their schedule that they see all year in the regular season. So they're still very much in contention to win the big 12. They're still very much in contention to get to the college football playoff. I just, they're not the same team they were last year. They do not have the same margin of error. Will Hammond, I think, has a chance to be better than Baron Morton by the end of the year, but he's not better than Baron Morton was right now. And defensively, they are not the same that they were like, Houston was able to move the ball on that pretty effectively on the ground in the air. Like, that defensive line, they had to finish with three sex, but just overall from down to down, they didn't look nearly as impactful and as effective as they were last year. I don't think there was good tackling as they were last year. It's crazy to think when the guy who got like a trillion tackles and never missed one leaves and goes to the NFL, your tackling gets worse. So they're good. They're just not as good. Agreed. And I wonder what that does. Like, them being not a super team. Does that make it more likely more likely this is a one-bed league? No. Explain. Oh, um, Utah, BYU, Texas Tech, the lack of crossover games. Obviously, you've got Utah and BYU as one. Houston has not a nobody, though probably going to be taking a step back, like not a ranked team, but I could see them stacking together enough wins that they jump back in this thing a little bit later. I just think that Texas Tech and the 15 dwarfs was more of a one-bed scenario than necessarily being a competitive situation. How about this? When Clemson and SMU both made the playoff in 2024, neither of them were world beaters. They both got in at what? The 10 and the 12. I could see, I could see big 12 getting to ACC, getting one, but big 12 maybe is holding down the nine and 11 or something along those lines. Also, like the big 10 might not get, you know, I think I think the big 10 will have more to do with whether the big 12 gets two in or not. Yeah. BYU and Utah are both not looking suspect. No. No. And I think that Utah hasn't played anybody yet. I get it. I get it. I get it. I get it. I get it. I get it. But look at the rest of the schedule. I don't know how many times they are going to. And if the college football playoff comes down to a lost sorter, then BYU and Utah are going to have advantages. BYU plays an underday. I know. I know. There are some people who work for ESPN who really think that they will not do the lost sorting thing this year. And I'm curious if that's like their hope or if they have a real, like, they've been told something, you know, like why? I listen. I definitely know that they've not been told something because the college football playoff selection committee leaves their hats at the door. God. Chip's not going to question the integrity of anybody on that committee. I am not ready to put them on any kind of, I mean, last year was the Mount Rushmore. To do what they did at the final rankings, you know, to have the gumption to swap. To correct their own mistake or. Yeah. I mean, it takes, so it takes a real, real standup individual when it, when you're called to task to do the right thing, you know. See, Connor gets it. Mark's Antonio is in there. That's no nonsense. Antonio is talking to ESPN people. He's just here with opinions. I thought that for Houston, it was a little disappointing. They jumped out to that lead, made a couple of bone headed plays down the stretch. And like Willie Fritz said, there's no moral victories. They showed up to win. They had a chance to win. They didn't. For Texas Tech, I'm going to get a little bit of confidence, a little bit of life. But I do think that my ultimate takeaway is that the big 12 is a lot more like the big 12 where anybody could win. Who knows? The, what was it? It would be the 2024. We could have four teams tied for first place with seven and two conference records. I just think a close loss to Texas Tech is not going to be excused like a close loss to Miami would be, nor should it be this year, which is why I was asking about the one bid thing. Gotcha. Yeah. There is going to be a temptation and a rush to grab some of these three teams with power conference or non-conference wins and be able to just sort of throw them in. That's where, for example, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, West Virginia. Do I think I even said this in the West Virginia blurb? Do I think West Virginia is going to fit anyone's top 25 in terms of a power rating or power ranking? No. But the three in oh, and they just beat a top 25 team on a neutral site. So, when you're trying to figure out spots 23, 24, 25 on a ballot, why not? Of course, I was like, who is Texas A&M beat that looks better than who West Virginia's beat? Now, Texas A&M in West Virginia, obviously the point spread is going to be favored in the Aggies way. But my thought here is that when AP voters get past 18, it's kind of a free for all. And I think that we'll see the voting points indicate that as well. My thought is Texas A&M falls out, but Oklahoma stays ranked. Oklahoma doesn't have a good win. They've looked like crap the last two weeks. Texas A&M, at least has beaten Arizona State, and they lost to Kentucky, who's now two in one who's only lost to Alabama. So, I actually think that Texas A&M has a better chance of being ranked than Oklahoma. Let's fair. I kind of do too. Chip, I think you did a great job. Just looking at this, I think you always do. I would be a little surprised Mississippi State is below the mountaineers. Oh, again, let me reiterate the way the voting points are broken up and the way it will look on Sunday, everything past 18 could be a crap shoot. That I mean, Washington beat Eastern Washington, but they were like eight voting points away from being ranked last week. And if all those same people who had them at the same spots on the ballot, continue to keep the Huskies in that spot, they could end up ranked. Even as like, why'd you break into the rankings? You just beat Eastern Washington, but the standard for being a top 25 team, I think for this balloting is low. Yeah, that makes sense. Okay. Yeah, that's my expectation. Like really no qualms with with one through 18 here. Just now that you have that kind of cut off. Rank Northwestern. I thank you. Ranked Duke. Ranked Duke. Duke will get Duke will get some attention. Not as much as they're not going to get it. Yeah, they're not going to get as much love as James Franklin is going to beat Maryland, but that's you don't want that to go. You don't think there's a chance USC could drop after really looking pretty ordinary against Rutgers today. The issue is all the other teams that are dropping around them. Like, I've got them at 12, but falling behind in the order, if that makes sense. Teams that were behind them last week are ahead of them in my projections, but because of the Texas A&M loss, because of the way that all those pieces are getting reorganized, that kind of shakes things up just a little bit. So again, for those listening at home that didn't get a chance to to see the graphic on the screen, I've got text. A&M, SMU, Houston, and Virginia falling out. As, but just, Tom just mentioned, Texas A&M hanging in or falling out. That's one that was a little bit of a big swing. They could be as high as 22 or 23, truly. Like Texas A&M could still be fine. If Texas A&M ends up at like 17, I'll be shocked, but my expectation is they'll get treated a little bit like Oklahoma did and end up right there on the cut line. And again, my projection is that there's just more teams that voters are going to be excited about. I mean, SMU could hang on to the top 25. If voters are lazy, if voters are lazy. No, no, no, I don't think any of the voters are lazy. I think they're all very dedicated individuals who watch every single game and pay attention and really break it down before putting in their ballots before they go to bed. And this was a game until the very end, where you had to like, you know, get another first down to give yourself a chance to kneel it out like, and so you didn't give the ball back to them. It's just, I don't know how you can be confident about USC going forward after this one. Like this to me was like a pessimistic win 'cause yeah, your offense is still really good. We could still score a bunch of points, but we absolutely have to. - I mean, they were favored by 24. They played like they were already up 24. - Mm-hmm. - So guys, like you have to go out and play still. Like we know you're not gonna really lose directors, probably, but it was just pointing. I didn't give it like main screen treatment, to be honest, because it's a record. You know, like there were so many better games on at that time, but you know, like not Chris. - Give me the ducks. - At those 84 points they put up on Portland State, got you reconsidering your feelings? - No, I just, we don't get a lot of bilo spots on their working ducks. And we'll give you an offense that can only score 14 points against New Mexico. Well, now you extended levels, right? Like, Matier had another two interceptions. He was only sacked once, but still the sooner's only ran for 1.9 yards per clip against New Mexico. Did the left tackle play? I don't know. Does should that matter? I think the drop off there is big, but your Oklahoma, the drop off shouldn't be that big. Like, and again, Jason that is doing an incredible job with that program. So I'm not trying to, you know, disrespect New Mexico, but you're Oklahoma. You were in the playoff last year. This is New Mexico. They do not have the guys that you have and the fact that you can't run the ball against them. Like this is a game where really all you should have had to do was run the ball. And you should have controlled the game, but you couldn't even do that. So you couldn't control the game. Now, your defense is so damn good that there was really nothing to lowboast could do it, you know, hurt you. But just it's, it is, is a tough watch. And again, they had 299 yards of offense and 53 of them came on one play. There is, are we giving it many kind of hangover pass here? Like loss hangover. I, I don't want, I don't think that Oklahoma is in that conversation. And if that we are given hangover pass, you give a hangover pass to Mississippi state. I would have given a hangover pass to Mississippi state if they had come out flat against South Carolina after beating Minnesota on the road in their second straight road game. Yeah, but like Oklahoma, I'm just saying like Oklahoma was so hyped. And now it's pretty clear like they're not going to make the playoff, you know. Is there some kind of like let down hangover effect here? I'll be very angry. Who did they play next week? I know how I think to take care of that. Thank you, Thomas. And so it's just very clear at the beginning of the season, we needed to clear whether he's going to go 10 wins or six and seven. I'd be six and seven. It's okay. I don't think they'll miss a bowl though. That's my prediction officially. We'll say like the schedule is already tough. And then like with Kentucky and Mississippi state and Florida all looking pretty good, like it just feels like it's getting a little tougher. Yeah, there are some schedules out there, and I'll try to figure this out for Monday. That like look a lot harder now, and there's some that look a lot easier, just based on like the groupings of who you play. Obviously, there's looks harder for sure. What about you mentioned Michael Hawkins? Fun win for West Virginia. Hawkins had to finish with four touchdowns total. I know he had two throwing one. Five, yeah. That's like an all-time scrambling performance. Like I watched every minute of this, just the magician stuff he was doing when he broke the pocket was incredible. I also like I don't want to put out a port out there that that that bow is hurt, but he got rocked in the first quarter. And somebody pointed us out on Twitter and I think it's correct. He did not have a design carry after that, which is kind of their entire offense because he's not a good thrower of the football. Like if you're not running the hell out of him, he's a negative. Yeah, he finished with only eight carries, but that includes three sex. So it was five carries. Yeah, he got destroyed. And I'm kind of wondering like, okay, I don't know who's the backup there? They had the interception in the third quarter, they missed a feel goal. Like they fumbled on their last possession. So yeah, it was just and then they couldn't stop Cincinnati. Like Cincinnati figured things out on offense and then just kept going. And the only thing that stopped them was a fumble of their own. So it was just, it was a very, it wasn't like any one cataclysmic event. It was just like a very slow bleed. And I'm sitting there and I kind of knew halfway to the third quarter. I'm like, I'm not going to get this. But what else stands out from the day for you from the notebook? I felt it was like a top heavy day, to be honest. Like, I mean, you had, you had a lot of blogs. I'm scanning here like other games that I watched. I, you know, what I didn't get eyes on that I'm curious, how the hell did Indiana not score 50 on Western? I don't know. Like they didn't have any turnovers. They did, they just play super slow. Yeah, like slow, like slower than normal. No, Western held the ball. Yeah, Western Western just did a Western. But if you, if you go and look at it, Indiana only punted once in the whole game. It was just Western, but it was like Indiana had maybe one missed field goal. Like one or two empty possessions. But Western was playing a lot of keep away somewhat successfully. I, my only thing for Indiana, which otherwise, I'm not going to be nitpicking the Hoosiers on this one. But I was like, Hey, and I need to go back and watch it to be fair here at 117 a.m. Eastern time. I, I need to go back and watch this drive. But how the hell did you let Western Kentucky have an eight minute drive on you with 17 plays? 15 play, yeah, yeah, you know, like that's, but that's what I'm doing. I'm like, okay. If man, like, there's some really unhappy football people in the triangle today. Yeah, if you, if you were on the right side of these line moves, okay. You grab Carolina plus three and a half, you grab into state plus three and a half. They both close three. You could be a South Carolina fan holding a North Carolina ticket and NC State ticket and a shoot. Who somebody else probably pissed you off. Like that, that's, that's rough. And that was probably not getting fired now. And the, the, and the Panthers are planning against the Falcons tomorrow. What could go wrong? A is Bryce in the big body bins. He's actually four and one against the Falcons. Okay. Just try not to give up 59 points again. Um, that's only a super bowl contenders. The Falcons do not categorize as these. Thank you for that. Uh, I mean, I will say Tate Reynolds got off to a very bad start. He settled in for second half, kind of started looking like a guy who I'm not going to say is a difference maker, but a guy you can live with, with, with room to grow. Like it was certainly better than what we saw the first couple games of the year. So that was promising. If you're comes in Gideon Davidson looked pretty good in the run game. The run game overall looked good after being kind of really stymied in the first half. But yeah, like that was the, the stoppage in that game just really changed everything. Because North Carolina was completely, they had the ball at the, like right on the goal line up to, with eight minutes to play, but also like they were playing the hell out of Clemson's bubble screen offense early. Oh, and then they quit tackling and then they quit tackling. And also Clemson started going quicker on offense and they had been, and it felt like North Carolina did not really understand what to do after that. Like that, that kind of to me that Clemson's offense looked a lot better after they picked up their pace. North Carolina's defense does not have significant trust or the depth. And that's what we saw when you have a two and a half hour delay. And then you come back out and the other team goes tempo and gets a little bit of confidence, you know? So, um, yeah, they showed up, they played the game. They needed to play to win the game, didn't end up winning super disappointing. Uh, don't love on fourth and one, when you've run the ball for more than 200 yards, deciding now is the time to really third leg Edwards to just drop back there and check it down the field. I understand to Lonnie Thurman is your best skill player, but, uh, man, that seemed like we're just forcing the ball to the guy with the star on the video game. I'm not saying like Bobby Patrino is one of the great offensive minds of football. So I am not smarter, but it's one fans at least are going to feel like second guessing a little bit. But, uh, about Northwestern saying goodbye to the little lake front of boat, trying handling a 41 to 70 and over Colorado. By the way, did you guys see like the clip of the Colorado players? Yeah, talking trash. Don't know this place sucks. It's like a library. Well, apparently you don't know how to read because you got your ass kicked in that library. Um, yeah, they didn't, they, they were looking for the signs that were like tackle the run game this way. I couldn't read the signs. Here's the misdirection section here's the misdirection this way. I mean, Chip Kelly was like, wait a second. I don't have to put the game in a child's hands. This is incredible, and it would an opportunity for me. Um, yeah, I, uh, that one was the go go offense went stop stop. Yeah, that was it went, it went. No, no, no, no games. Yeah, because for Northwestern, it wasn't as though they were offensively dominant throughout the game. That was a build to break as I saw it, right? That was maybe that was one of those rotation games for me. But as I was tracking as I was flipping it on and cycling over to it, it seems like it was a build to break where Northwestern's defense did such a good job of limiting what Colorado was able to do. That eventually the field position, the like all of it just sort of piled up on them. Yeah, I mean, honestly, the Colorado offense wasn't terrible. Like if you look like per play, they average what 5.6 yards, they rushed for five and a half a carry. It's just they couldn't finish drives and they couldn't hit any big plays. One scary for sure. No, whatsoever. And then on the other side, you had Northwestern just when you also had four turnovers, by the way. That doesn't know. Yeah, minus three, I think in the turnover battle in total. No hard grade yet for me on Notre Dame 17 point when it gets Michigan State. I tuned in when it was a little dicey. So I watched Notre Dame scoring plays to put it away. I didn't watch what got them there. Tom did or did either of y'all have that one on a primary screen in the 7 30 window. Never heard of times of other games. It was on the quad. There were, let me see if they ever got one real quick. Yeah, there are, there are two teams in the country who do not have a run of 20 yards or more this season. One is Arkansas and the other is Notre Dame. They're run games. I mean, they had a 17 yard run and a 14 power conference teams or do you say FBS? I think just power. I don't know if it's all of FBS. I know at least and definitely in the power for, but they're just, they don't like James finished with a 121 yards on the ground on 26 carries is a team though. The only average 2.7 of, you know, it's just, they have not. had explosives on the ground like they had last year with price and love. And that's something they're going to have to figure out because it's not like they're playing incredible teams. >>Unbelievable stat defense. I mean, again, it was Michigan state. But it was just a very like, like, pet fits game. You know, we're going to, we're going to, we're going to play a really good defense for me, very physical. We're not going to just do really anything on offense. They had 3.5 yards of play. Like, never a real threat to win it unless Notre Dame made major screw-ups. And then the Irish kind of kicked it into gear and blew it open. >>Middle of the day, box score lie for me was the UTEP Michigan game. Like it wasn't so I went back to see how we got there. You know, as you're watching on the scoreboard, you know, you see the 7-0. You see the 14-7. And you're like, oh my goodness. And then you see how you got there. And you realize that Michigan is moving the ball and scoring. They just are making dumbass mistakes that set up UTEP with short fields. And that over the course of four quarters, it ends up being 52 to 17. I caught up at halftime. You know, it's just sort of get a feel for it. But I don't feel like have a good grade one way or the other one, where the Wolverines are after their big win against Oklahoma. >>Yeah. >>Also on Notre Dame real quick, like, 35% of their yards, Michigan State's yards came on one play. Like they had 167 on the day. >>My big takeaway for Notre Dame was the defense just like. >>Oh, the defense is great. Yeah.
