Up next on Fantasy Baseball Today Express. Welcome back to FBT Express on Saturday, August 29th. I am Frank Stample, joined by Scott White. And let's start things off with the schedule. 16 teams with 6 games and 14 teams with 7 games. Are you ready? Here we go. Orioles, Red Sox, Cubs, White Sox, Guardians, Tigers, Astros, Marlins, Brewers, A's, Mariners, Giants, Rays, Rangers. All of those teams have 7 games this upcoming week. And what about the Rockies? 6 games? All of them are in Coors Field. So you love to see that. 3 against the Orioles and 3 against the Cardinals. Starters sit these fringe two-start pitchers. And we have Trevor Rodgers. Who's coming off a bad start at the Rockies' home against the Red Sox.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's unfortunate that he's coming off this bad start. Because he seemed match-up proof prior to that. Trevor Rodgers in his previous 14 starts, I believe it was. I don't know. I don't have the numbers. Oh, here it is. 250-70 RA, 105 whip, 8.1K per 9. So he seemed match-up proof. Then he has a bad start. Then he has these two rough match-ups coming up. I understand getting squirrely about it in a categories league. But I still think he's advisable in most cases.
Speaker 1All right. What about Matthew Boyd? Who actually is coming off one of his better starts. He gets the Brewers and he's at the Marlins.
Speaker 2Yeah. He had been less reliable overall, though, prior to that. One bad match-up, one good. He's below Trevor Rodgers in the rankings. But I think still advisable. In most cases.
Speaker 1Freddie Peralta is coming off his best start yet with the Rays. And this upcoming week, he has a revenge game against the Mets and another at the Rangers.
Speaker 2Ranks lower than Rodgers and Boyd, but still advisable in most cases because both of those match-ups are favorable.
Speaker 1Mackenzie Gore went back to his Charizard ways and he scorched your ratios last time out. But now he gets two starts at home against the Athletics and the Rays. His numbers. Much better at home this season.
Speaker 2And the Athletics lineup is pretty weak right now. The Rays are not so good against left-handers. I am always reluctant to trust in Gore. But I think you have to this week with the two favorable match-ups.
Speaker 1Brandon Fott looks like he might be coming back down to earth. He has two starts, one against the Phillies and one at the Astros.
Speaker 2Yeah, I'd leave Fott for... For points leagues.
Speaker 1What about Sean Burke coming off a start where he walked eight? I think it was eight. That's a lot of walks. He was at the Astros and home against the Twins.
Speaker 2And though the walks haven't been high, the production has fallen off in general here for Burke. I might still start him in a points league, but he's pretty far down the two-star pitcher rankings for this week.
Speaker 1All right. And the last name I have here is Kyle Braddish, who has those... Same match-ups as Trevor Rodgers at the Rockies' home against the Red Sox.
Speaker 2CRA's over four. His whip's over 1.4 for the year. I think it's only for points leagues and even then far from a must.
Speaker 1All right, Scott. Who are some two-star pitchers that you are looking to add and stream for week 24?
Speaker 2A lot of two-star pitchers this week are worth streaming. One of them is JT Ginn. He's at the Rangers. He's at the Mariners. Two great match-ups away from Sacramento. His strikeouts have fallen off recently, but he's been respectable more often than not, even during that time. So I trust him with those good match-ups. Peter Lambert hasn't been quite as sharp lately in the match-ups. They're kind of iffy White Sox and Diamondbacks. But overall, I think he's been a good enough pitcher that... I... When he has two... When he has two starts, I don't really think twice about using Peter Lambert. Aaron Nola's been trending up. A lot more strikeouts. Iffy match-ups, Diamondbacks and Braves. But I think to get that extra start in there, I'm willing to do it. Clay Holmes has looked good since coming off the IL. Newly with the Cubs. Not a lot of strikeouts, but that doesn't need to be a big part of his game because he's such a good ground ball pitcher. He gets the Brewers and the Marlins. One bad match-up. But one good one. Gage Jump has those same favorable match-ups as JT Ginn at Texas, at Seattle. Hit or miss, so he's further down the list here. But the hits are really good. When he's on, he's really on. And I'd be willing to roll the dice with those match-ups this week. Hayden Wesneski has a really good sweeper. Actually, his most recent start at the Yankees, the sweeper wasn't really there for him. He still turned in a good result. So... I think if you're looking for an extra start, White Sox and Diamondbacks, you know, don't love the match-ups. But Wesneski, I'd be willing to try him out. Jackson Jobe. The outings have been short and not always effective, but Twins and Guardians are the match-ups this week. I think those are decent enough to give him a look in a points league. And then Randy Dobnak rounds out the list here with two really favorable match-ups, Marlins and Blue Jays. He's been surprisingly effective of late. Has an extreme ground ball pitcher. More of a floor play than a ceiling play, of course. But with those match-ups and the way he's performed, I think he's a sneaky play. Only 15% rostered. Randy Dobnak.

Obviously, that's a favorable matchup, and it bothers me how slow people have been to buy into Jacob Lopez. Last seven starts, 233 ERA, 103 whip, 10.9 K per nine. We've seen this version before down the stretch last year, much of his minor league career. I get that when things go wrong for him, they go really wrong, but I think overall he's an effective pitcher and on a good run, great matchup. Start Jacob Lopez. The one I'm adding is Noah Cameron, who I just assumed didn't qualify for this list anymore, but he's a good matchup. He is less than 80% rostered, actually dropped under that. number recently for reasons i don't quite understand he's been on an amazing run since he started calling his own pitches um throwing a lot less fastballs the strikeouts have kind of started to to drop off a little bit but overall a lot more hits the misses and he gets the marlins this week which is of course favorable matchup all right let's go over

Speaker 2whenever he's at home willie castro same thing their home splits are so favorable and they both have good numbers overall it's mostly at home though where they've done their damage i guess i gave some thought to tj rumfield he's been cold uh but he's actually somebody who's about as good on the road at home rare for a rocky sitter so i left him off the list if you want to consider using him with a full week of home games though i get it walker jenkins recent call up i think he immediately has the kind of matchups that make you want to use him left-handed hitter only one lefty on the schedule um and he is facing the tigers and and white socks rotations at six games both of those rotations have fallen off pretty hard um got pitchers like jackson job drew anderson jose or kitty anthony k struggling sean burke i yeah i think i think walker jenkins is going to be fine first week in the majors tristan peters has as of this recording homered in five straight games is that correct or did the white socks play thursday they did not so yes he is riding a streak of five straight games with a home run good pull air rate not very good exit velocities but you can understand uh how he could maybe keep hitting home runs the main thing for tristan peters though is that the white socks have zero lefties on the schedule so you know he's going to play all seven of their games obviously he's hot christian incarnacion strand also very hot kicked off week 23 which we're currently in with three straight multi-hit games the orioles have the second best hitter matchups including a three-game set at course field and they have three lefties on the schedule which is important in incarnacion strands case because he does most of his damage against lefties ty france still available in like half of cbs leagues even though he's got a mid-800s ops on the air uh hasn't really slowed down the padres matchups are pretty good overall they get the reds in cincinnati and uh they get will warren and carlos rodan from the yankees rotation so i think good time to use ty france tommy edmund's been hot for the dodgers you mentioned they have the third best hitter matchups nathaniel low for the guardians with only one lefty on the schedule and they have the fifth best hitter matchups his numbers against righties very good mid-800s ops travis bazan has picked things up recently he could take advantage of that fifth best hitter schedule for the guardians also and dalton varsho now with the astros has started to come around um they're very good at getting bat speed from their hitters and that's always been a key to his success two home runs in his last five games of this as of this recording and they have the fourth best hitter matchups
