Week 2 Waiver Wire: Must-Add Players, Top Pickups & FAAB Advice (Ep. 2190)

It's WeaverWire week two. I'm Chris Welsh, that's Pat Fitzmore's and the Athletics own Jake Sealy. We've got it all into the sun today. We're talking running back as wide receiver ads our top five overall, but we are gonna jump right into the show to have a battle of WeaverWire. Sometimes we are gifted that one beautiful name that everybody agrees on. It's not necessarily the case, but there's a lot of guys and we've got a battle at the top of the WeaverWire this week because both you find gentlemen have different picks. We are Devon Veile versus Kalon Black. That is our WeaverWire at the Tippie Top number one and let's start with you Mr. Pat Fitzmore's because you are on the running back side of this. Kalon Black being your number one WeaverWire priority this week, talk to us about the usage. What you're doing as far as actually dropping that number one Weaver claim and what fab for Kalon Black. - Yeah, so I see some parallels between Kalon Black and Blake Korum and not just because they're both they two draft picks from big 10 schools who are national championships while they were there. They are number two running backs in really good offenses with outstanding play designers and guys who on their own might be able to have a little bit of stand alone value. Like probably not guys you would want to count on for say week two to start in a pinch. You could probably flex either of them. Maybe Korum or so then Kalon Black right now just because we don't know how much of the Kalon Black role in week one was that it was a game in Australia and they were probably trying to manage Christian McAfry a little bit after his lower body soreness in the preseason. But I do think while obviously Kalon Black is probably the most essential handcuff backing up Christian McAfry who we know is dealt with myriad injury problems over the years and anything happens to McAfry and all of a sudden Kalon Black is like our fab bidding recommendation is all of it pretty much. But like I do think there might be a little bit of stand alone value here and I know it's been hard for Kyle Shanahan to resist giving CMC 20 to 25 carries or touches every week. But he is coming off a 450 touch season if you count play off games and Shanahan maybe it was lip service but he was talking earlier in the year about wanting to manage McAfry and I think he knows that things don't look as good for this offense if he has to do without Christian McAfry for any length of time. So maybe we see more Kalon Black this year. Maybe we see Dibo help out with some of the lifting in the running game. But I think just for the handcuff value alone, Kalon Black is invaluable. And like Korm, he's not going to catch a lot of passes. He's going to rotate in 40% of the plays maybe tops, probably not that much, not as much as Korm. But if anything happens to him and I do think there might be a little bit of stand alone value for Kalon Black and he looked really good in week one Welsh and I know you're a 49ers guy so you got to help me tag team GK here and work him over in the corner. Yeah, I mean it was very impressive on the usage. I'm a little bit wishy-washy if that's going to continue especially with hands of the injury stuff that was going on and they really want to get him 14 plus touches and traveling and whatnot. But the stand-alone value is interesting. The Blake Korm analogy kind of makes a lot of sense. And from a stand-alone value standpoint, he had 14 carries, 65 yards. He also caught a pass, 26% on Yahoo. And I think because a couple days have passed, he might not be at the tipping top for everybody's waiver priority. But Jake, we don't have a consensus here on what the top waiver is. You're not into the running back and we're going to talk about running back ads and a little spoiler alert. He's not even your top running back ad unless you want to change that you still do like him. But what do you think about taking the top hand cuff priority versus a guy that kind of had it to an established role from a week one on Sunday and that's why you ended up going with Devon Valey as your top waiver priority? - I mean, it comes down to needs and I don't disagree much, but there's a lot of ifs in there. And that's really what it comes down to, is the real truth is, when are you ever going to feel good about starting black unless we get a definitive quorum type value, which we never feel great about starting quorum anyway? It's that he could look like the better runner like he did in this game and Kyerson gets the goal line touches, by the way, all three of the goal line touches the Christian McCaffrey, five out of the sixth or down touches and opportunities to Christian McCaffrey. So it's not that I'm dismissing killing black. And if you are stout, like let me make this clear, if you are a strong team and you're like, well, Valey would be my fifth or sixth wide receiver, then the answer is black. That's really what it comes down to. It's not that I'm against black. It's just, with how many injuries we're already seeing a wide receiver to start this year, people are fishing for wide receivers. Like that's the biggest thing. So it really comes down to need. It's not that we're, you know, diametrically opposed on this one. It just comes down to the fact that Valey is a clear option until Tyson comes back. He was a clear option last year from weeks 12 through 15. He was actually a top 25 wide receiver and one of the best target getters out there and that's going to continue as long as Tyson's out, which is for a while. And that's even what you want Johnson doing his thing. So it just comes down to if you need wide receiver, we don't know flowers as today. We're going to talk about that later. We don't know the situation with a lot of wide receivers who got banged up in week one after already getting banged up in preseason. It just feels to me, like I'm looking at my waiver article that I'm already writing up and I have a lot more wide receivers that I would go after in week one than running backs. But that's only because we don't really get the bait. Like if Christian McCaffer got hurt, this would be 100% of your fat. And that's why I agree inherently with you and inherently with fits and the fact that if I don't need a starter, there is no more upside than somebody behind Christian McCaffer. Tank bigs being the likes of that. So that's really what comes down to it. If I'm looking to try to get stand alone value, I wouldn't chase that part of it. Although it might develop and I hope you're right about that. But I think that there was a lot of overseas Christian McCaffer workload, not being 100%. I think that played into it a lot. - They laid nine targets, seven catches, 69 yards, had a score, looks phenomenal in there. The last thing I don't think either one of you guys hit though, do you burn your number one waiver priority? Let's start with you Pat on Kaelin Black for you. Are you gonna burn a number one waiver priority? - Only if I have Christian McCaffer on my roster that I'm doing it. - Okay, are you gonna burn a number one waiver priority on Vaila? - I don't think there's anybody this funny. The only answer I think to burn a number one waiver priority is Kaelin Black, if waivers are thin and like you said, you have Christian McCaffer. I don't even think you need Christian McCaffer. I just think if waivers are thin and you're looking for that game breaker. So that's really what comes down to you. - And then Fab on Vaila for you Jay. - Five, 10% percentage. Okay, and then Kaelin Black for you Pat. - I'd say 10%. And more if you have McCaffer. - I was gonna say I actually think - I think McCaffer will for more than Vaila on waivers. Fat boys. - I think you will too. And if I were of McCaffery stakeholder and like I'd go 20%. - If you had like three strong running backs though and a top team in your league as Christian McCaffer, you think there's let's call it standalone value in going and trying to snipe Kaelin Black on your team. You're already kind of locked in. Would you wanna drop 20% to make sure you get him? Is it just solely tie is the last thing on this but solely tied to just Christian McCaffery for you? - It kind of is like I think his and I put this in this week's Fantasy Pros waiver article now available at fantasyproes.com. True value I think for Kaelin Black I put it $9 and desperate need which to me is if you're the Christian McCaffery stakeholder $17. - Okay, perfect. So those are the top on the waiver part. So kind of a lighter week. It's funny though, there's a ton of names. There's a ton of speculation. Not burning a number one waiver wire priority. Not really going over into that 15, 20% tile range. So it might be just a lot of picking and choosing which we are going to do. We're gonna look at our top running back and top waiver wide receiver ads and then kind of little piecing it together across the board. Pat, you've already mentioned Kalon Black as your number one waiver wire priority. So that's gonna be your top running back. Seely, let's talk about your top running back because I think you gave the caveat of what the reason for Kalon Black would be, but he's not your top RV ad. And then we'll talk about a few other names that we're interesting, but Jake, who do you have? - Yeah, Woody Marks only because he's still at, actually, I don't know how he dropped a percentage point on Yahoo overnight from 50 to 49, which is kind of weird. - I think three touchdowns would be the reason behind that day, like Dave Montgomery, three touchdowns. - And who cares, the fact is Woody Marks actually look probably honest, and maybe it's matchup, but he looked better, I think, in that game than he ever did last year as the lead, and maybe that's the real testament is that maybe Woody Marks is better as a timeshare, but we don't know. The real thing here is that he's at 49%, whatever it is, I know a lot of people are probably watching be like, well, he's not available in my league, and that's the thing I wanted to put him here for, is he shouldn't be, because Bradley and Alan, Woody and Marks tank bigs be, and we can go, probably a list of 10, Blake Davis used to be in that group with Kalon Black and stuff like that, but these clear options that are going to get bell cow work, which is what we're chasing, where even if he's just Woody Marks from last year, and something happens to Dave Montgomery, guess what, he was an RB2, as inefficient as he was. So that's really why he's there. If not there, 100% my top pickup, and I see the other names here already, and it's just kinda, the top pickup would be agreement with Fitz that it's Kalon Black if Woody Marks is already taken. - Yeah, I think we can all agree, Pat, that if there's one thing that's true from the waiver wire this week, it's not a good running back week. I mean, Kalon Black is fun. Woody Marks can be kind of fun, it's not strong. The strength is in wide receiver, what if it's what you're looking for. Some other names that are floating out there. Kendrick Miller got some surprising usage. There's mentioning charts out there that was like early downs that Kendrick Miller was getting used, but Travis H and ended up getting like all the goal line stuff regardless. But still, nine carries, 30 yards in a score. Chris Brooks, I wanted to throw out there. He ended up getting seven carries, 29 yards, the first couple carries for the Packer, Grayline Allen, 10 carries for 40, how to score that ended up getting pulled back, and the Tajay Spears, there's some different owner roster percentages. Kendrick Miller is 0%, Chris Brooks, 0% Grayline 15%. Can I jump in real quick? There's a name that's not there that I would take over all of them as the clear backup, 25% rostered. The other Robinson, the other B Robinson for the Falcons, like the backfield is the one thing that does work for them. And I know Bajan is 10 times better than Brian, but at the same time, he's 25%. If something happened to Bajan, again, Woody Marks is the testament to this. It will be more bell cow work as an inefficiency, but you're telling me if Bajan Robinson, I was just gonna say Robinson, that's why I said, if the lead Robinson got hurt, that people wouldn't be scrambling to go pick up. The whole reason Brian was drafted as like a eighth ninth tenth rounder last year, because he was behind Christian McCaffrey, and then Christian McCaffrey gets, you know, makes the entire season healthy, and then as I was like, oh, nobody wants Brian Robinson anymore. Like, there's nobody else. They're not turning to anybody else in that backfield or something happens to Bajan. - It's not a great waiver wire week when that's the, when they just-- - When it happens here on our-- - Go and meet it online all the time. - It's like, he's a really cool handcuffs. Like, you know, it's not a good set up here. But Fitsy, those are some other, again, 'cause you had Caleb Black, he's got Woody Marks. You can speak on Woody Marks, but you also Kendra Miller, Chris Brooks, Braille and Allen, there's just some interesting names. What of interest of that group might you have, Mr. Pat Fitzmars? - Yeah, let me talk about three of these guys. And one guy we haven't mentioned, who, depending on when people consume this show, could either be totally off our radars or could ascend to the top of the list. It's Jonah Coleman for the Broncos. And we know Sean Payton has been fond of using two or three way backfields, dating back to his time in New Orleans. Jonah Coleman, really impressive in training camp. Adapt is both a pass catcher and pass blocker. And Sean Payton's running backs do 10 to catch. A lot of passes. So I think he's interesting. Can't wait to see what his role looks like against the chiefs. - 33% roster percentage for him, by the way, just going into the game as we're recording. It's just wanted to know. - Well, since you jumped in before he gets to the other names, I'm gonna jump into Fitz. That's a great, like, this is for places like Yahoo. I think that's the only side that really does it consistently, but others might. If you can drop people off your bench that have already played that you didn't use and then go get, you can't, or like, to get, - Jonah Coleman. - Jonah Coleman, I know, I don't know what to do. I want to bring for it on that, 'cause I was about to say Emmett Johnson, too, is that go get those guys tonight before something potentially happens and you beat everybody else to the punch. So I want to throw that nugget in there, too. - Taijai Spears, I know the Titans offense was a tire fire in week one and it has been throughout the preseason, but it is worth noting that Spears only played one fewer snapped than Tony Pollard and ran 17 routes while Pollard only ran eight. So I really do think this is a split backfield. Kind of bad news for Tony Pollard owners. And I just want to comment on the Chris Brooks usage. I think that might be kind of fool's gold because part of the reason I believe he played as much or more than Martian Lloyd in that game was just they trust Brooks and Blitz pick up and you're going against the Vikings where Brian Flores is sending guys from all over the place and you want someone who can handle that and not get your franchise quarterback creamed. - So Jake, I guess I'd ask you 'cause Fitz, he didn't touch on it. Kendra Miller, any take or thoughts on Kendra Miller, people are making a big adieu about Travis Hens value early on and like he wasn't being used. You know, it seemed like in the first half I was like what's happening? It was also just because they were just atrociously bad on offense. It was three and out. It seemed like every other drive. But any take on Kendra Miller. - No, not unless Cameras stays out and Cameras sound like he was potentially in play for this week and sounds like that if that's the case he'll be out there for a week too. - The Kendra Miller thing is more about the panic for Edgehen. It's like, oh God, Miller's a good player. It's just that he's made out of glass is the problem. - Okay, then just real quick 'cause we're gonna do a top five at the end of the show. You're overall top five. Jake, what's your top three running backs of this list that we've put together? Obviously you have Woody Marks at number one. Probably Caleb Black at two. - Black between the two. - Okay. - Brian Robinson would be the other three. Like I want nothing to do with the Titans backfield because that's just the dirt version of the Steelers and Braille and Allen's, like I like Braille and Allen, but I think Isaiah Davis would be involved more than people might think or believe. I agree with Fitz on Brooks. Lloyd, look better. Got a little bit more work as the game went on. I think that's just let's see if Lloyd is 100% and then we are talked about Kendra Miller. So it would be Marks Black and Brian Robinson. - Are Marks and Black in the same percentile of fab like in the 10% range or is it like, 'cause what Marks is above Black for you? So is it like generally the same? - No, that's the funny thing. If I'm doing fab, I think you have to be and would be more aggressive for Black. I think you can sneak Marks through under 10% just because it's kind of like, yeah. Like to what you said, he actually dropped a percentage point in roster shit because the three Titans down to David Montgomery. Like, oh, there's no value there for what he marks. So yeah. - Fitz, what about you? Your top three of the running backs here. - As we sit here now before Monday night football, I would have it kale on Black, Jonah Coleman, and then Ty J. Spears. - Well, you cheated on that one. - Yeah, if not Monday night football, that's a really good point still. - If Jonah Coleman is not involved tonight, I'll kick him out of the club and sneak in Woody Marks. - Yeah, and I would say he'd be the highest roster percentage player of everybody we've talked about would be Jonah Coleman, not to be, 'cause I definitely don't, I don't love the peanut gallery of, - He's not available in my league, like, okay buddy, great. But I would say Jonah Coleman is like, there's no league I've ever seen Jonah Coleman not get drafted in. Can I let's panor to the masses and give everyone in deep leagues like one guy who is available in your league. It's Raheem Sanders and with Dylan Sampson, apparently sustaining some sort of major knee injury, Raheem Sanders is the handcuffed at Quinchon Judgans. - Okay, deep deep leagues there. So running back ads. - You want super, super, super, super. - Look at Devon Singletary. Another tire of Tracey's never gonna play another snap for a long time. - Good point. - You guys are just playing a game of chicken, just like how do I think Raheem, I think Sanders is so good. - I'll mark it when you go. - I think so. By the way, not as Jay Harris. - Can you give me the opportunity to be on Vaki? - Yeah, Kendra Miller is 0% on. So I'll just point out like, anybody under Kendra Miller is fine because they are fairly on, but I think Sanders is gonna win that one. Top Wide Receiver ads, this is going to be a little bit more meaty. There are a lot of players out there. So obviously we know the top wide receiver ad for Jake is Devon Veile. There's some other really interesting names. So Pat, let's have you start this one. You can comment by the way if Veile is your actual true number one or if there is another guy in here. So who is your top wide receiver ad for the week? Veile would be my number one. And people are going to groan when I mentioned this name. Debo Samuel is rostered and only 48% of YAHU leagues. And look, I know he's probably rostered in your league, but there are leagues where people only go four or five bench spots and Debo might not be there. Obviously with the Dijon Stribbling injury and Debo's very encouraging week one usage, he would be a target for you probably in such a league. Beyond Veile, Don Tavine Wicks, only two catches, but they were both pretty impactful, a 64-yarder and a nine-yard touchdown, four targets. But Jalen hurts only through 25 passes in week one. And it's Wicks snap and routes routes counts that have me sort of excited. Only two fewer snaps and two fewer routes run for Don Tavine Wicks than Devon Te Smith. And Wicks played 15 more snaps than Rookie McIleman. So that is kind of interesting. And then it's it's kind of a model. You could talk me into any of Ad9 Mitchell, Khalil Shakir, who gets a really nice week two matchup against Detroit, missing its safeties. And we saw what Tyler Schuck just did firebombing the Lions on Sunday, Denzel Boston, Caleb Douglas, two young guys who the Boston Douglas thing is interesting. I'm going to let Jake talk about Caleb Douglas first. And then maybe we can win on Boston versus Douglas. Yeah, you you went down the show list. He went down the show sheet there. So Jake, your number one here is Caleb Douglas. I was really impressed because I'm a Chris Bell guy. And I was super impressed just seeing Douglas out there and seeing what some of the usage was. I mean, I wasn't impressed with the offense overall or Malik Davis just sitting in the pocket and just getting eaten up at times. But Caleb Douglas was definitely out there with some higher production 11% roster percentage. Talk to us about Caleb Douglas because he is the top of your way wide receivers. That is after Valey, of course. Yeah. And that's the real thing is so I always approach waivers. Unless I have a definitive news, I'm chasing ceiling. Like I don't want waiver replacement level type of players. I want potential top 25 running backs, potential top 35 wide receivers. And Caleb Douglas is essentially Sandra Tillman if Sandra Tillman was actually playing good football or ever did. Let's just be honest because I don't even know he's roster anymore. They let him go and don't think anybody picked him up. But that's the truth. Like that, I just bring that for the similarities. And I say that to say like Chris Bell is coming. Chris Bell is going to be one of the top two wide receivers. But he's going to do it alongside Caleb Douglas. Like there's a name that's not even on this list. I would not chase Malik Washington. I don't care that he led the team in routes. I don't care that he led the team in targets. I watched a Maligator arm a play. I watched him fumble late in the game. And truthfully, let's be out. Malik Washington is playing there because he's holding the spot for Chris Bell. He'll be get kicked to the number third or the number three spot. But it really comes down to no matter what Caleb Douglas is going to be one of the two. And I actually think that you watch that game beginning to end. Yeah, you're right. Malik Willis, that offensive line wasn't doing any favors. Let's give the Raiders some credit getting in his face. There were some bad decisions, but there were still the flashes that we saw of Malik Willis previously being like this, talking this all season is like, oh, somebody's going to get a pretty good quarterback. We think. And there was those flashes there. And there was some of that two kale Douglas. There is one that I really wish Bell would have picked up. I think he just missed them on the one. But there's the upside that there will also be better passing days from Malik Willis. And if Douglas stays up there and Chris Bell at some point, like both of them could be top 35 if not better wide receivers. And that's why I don't disagree so much on Diablo Samuel. I just don't love the fact that it's always tough. And you guys both know this. I'm not saying there's something that you don't know. It's always tough to evaluate wide receivers in game injuries and what happens after that because it's not like a running back where like, oh, this is the next man up. We know this is going to happen. Wide receivers are sometimes like set in what their design was for the game. And where the role might shift for the next game is where like the replacements come in. That all being said, I don't love the rotating of Diablo Samuel with the Marcus Robbins so much after the injury. Again, Diablo Samuel. And then it comes out like, Diablo Sam is valuable. He's on my waiver wire. I agree with this. It's just I'm shooting for more ceiling. I think Debo is probably capped at this point of his career as a wide receiver four-ish maybe three. Let's also talk George Kittle only played 50% of the snaps actually under 50% of the snaps. So I just don't know if there's enough there. So I do like Debo, but I would put him behind Douglas. And if you have the option, this kind of goes back to the Caitlin Black thing. If your bench is solid and you're like, well, this will be my fifth or sixth wide receiver. I'm never going to use them. Chris Bell over like half these names because it's going to happen. It's going to take time. I agree 100% though with fence is that actually posted and I said on my podcast and I posted in the waiver column before week one on the athletic is that to be a fan of McCoy lemon doesn't mean I don't think don't have any wicks is a great pickup. He is the number two. Lemon could take that job at the middle of the season. But as of right now, it's not it's wicks. There's going to be two valuable wide receivers in Philly until the lemon thing happens. You can stash lemon. Honestly, lemon and bell are kind of in the same boat right now. You're stashing for future potential. And wicks is the answer right now, even though it might only be wicks is similar to valet. You know the clock's ticking, but you're going to get value right now. There's there's two other guys I just want to hit on and then I'll get kind of your guys is top three is this is more of a production standpoint. Kendrick born had a big day. That kind of took away from Marvin that Michael was almost still good eight targets eight catches for 75 and Antonio Williams is going to definitely get some run here. Four targets caught all four from 64 yards and a touchdown really sneaking that offense. Fitsy any take on born in Williams and how do they fit into this this glob of valet and Douglas and Debo Samuel and Don Tevian wicks. Is there any interest in either one of those guys, Fitsy? I think they're both fools gold to be honest with you. I think they're both number three receivers in passing games that are not going to be able to support three receivers. So both of those guys had fewer snaps and ran fewer routes than the two guys in front of them in Washington. Terry McClure and Stefan digs in Arizona. Marvin Harrison Jr. Michael Wilson. So those guys three receive number three receivers who had good days and that's going to happen. But I don't want to chase that every time one of those guys pops up anything different for you, Jake. Like Kendrick born thing is took advantage of the underneath that's rip that born was just eating up the middle of the field against the chargers and the big thing there is man, I was holding out hope and not panicking completely after week one, but Marvin Harrison's like you're toeing that line. We'll save that save that save that we're going to talk about that. I'll talk about him later, but Michael Wilson was but it's not even just a number three wide receiver. It's Tray McBride, then whichever wide receiver is the lead, which it might be Michael Wilson now and then Kendrick born. So that's not one Antonio Williams. I will say this, no interest in Antonio Williams legit. We saw the concerns of the commander's offensive line had very little time to look for Terry McClure and Stefan digs was able to take advantage of it, but the one thing I will say going forward against the Eagles is I will be looking for potential slot number three tight ends against the Eagles because their corners are so strong that That's what they gave up when Jane and Daniels did have time and Tony O'Williams was able to eat up space and break away. And that's where he made his day. It's not going to happen every single week, but something to watch as a matchup specific. If you're looking for a Hail Mary play, that would be something to watch against the Eagles. The one day we kind of gloss passed, it's like, I'm picking up Adonai Mitchell. Like he did it last year for brief spells. He's clearly the number two. And on top of it, Omar Cooper got hurt. Like, and Sadeek's, by the way, coming, we'll save that one to come in for Mason Taylor real quick. But Adonai Mitchell's the number two. And Geno, hey, by the way, we're confident. He didn't look great, but he'll look confident. Yeah. And by the way, the knock on on Adonai Mitchell has always been how inefficient he is 5.9 yards per target going in the yesterday's game. 20 yards per target. It's good. I love it. 60 yards. I'm three targets. All right. Then your top three fits you. Why don't you give us your top three wide receivers in priority? All right. I'll leave Deebo off the list just because he's so widely rostered. I agree with Jake on Valle. To me, Valle and Don Tavy and Wix are close. And I think the reason it looked like it was kind of a decisive week one victory for Valle here and far as far as who you want to spend money on kind of fueled by volume. Saints through 56 passes and ran 90 plays in that game against the Lions, whereas Philadelphia only through 25 passes. But I do agree like Valle is just such a good pick up if you've got Zay flowers and lad McConkey on your roster. And you don't know if either of those guys are going to be playing in week two. I'll throw an Adonai Mitchell at number three. I mean, that did look like a competent offense. Gino is not bad when he's got time. And the Jets actually have a good offensive line in Mitchell's a former first rounder big and fast. No, no love for Caleb Douglas from Fitsy. All right. Sealing your top three. I mean, like a flow chart because I feel like these are the ones if you're shooting for upside and if you have injuries. That's what I was saying when I was saying it's messy at wide receiver this week. And I can appreciate you guys giving the caveats to it because I think it is important for people. But there are so many wide receivers that there are different paths you could take. It's like our adoption right now. Yeah, sure, sure, sure. 10 second mention also of Denzel Boston. I put him in the Caleb Douglas class. He's kind of got headwinds like with Douglas. It's passing volume like Boston is insanely talented. But I don't think you want to touch him until she do her sanders takes over a quarterback. No, that was actually frustrating. That conception was the least in routes. Yeah. Even though he's targeted the most. But all that being said, Valey was be my number one no matter what. Yeah. I know it's a ticket. But we don't know that like Tyson's going to be 100% whenever he's supposed to come back or whatever. So Valey's number one. I would go Caleb Douglas number two. And then if I was purely chasing the ceiling, I would hope that Boston gets a new quarterback or and like sanders can play better than Watson Watson. Look like he's actively trying to get benched in that game. Yes. Mitchell's right there. The thing is is that if you need production, I would say Don Tevue and Wix would jump into their similar two fits. And then what do we need? You mentioned Richard Bateman, Jacobi Lanes. Yeah. He was out there the second most. I know he only had one target and didn't catch it. But there's the we think Z flowers is going to be okay. But Bateman was running as the two. It was a game. He only threw 25 times. Like that's not going to be the same every single week for the Ravens. So like, I think he might just get overlooked as in it. This is kind of what we're talking about here. So if you're just looking for somebody like, yeah, I'm going to take a couple of flyers and then throw like a zero or one dollar bit on like, hey, maybe I just get them that that would be the Bateman. He wouldn't make the top three, but like just the throw his name out there. All right. Well, we're going to do some keeper cut, rapid fires and top streamers. And then we've got the overall top five for each of these guys, Waverwire coming up. But first, let's talk about what not. Rapid fire keeper cut. This is a tough one after week one, but I put together a few names in here. Some are going to get scoffed at about a sentence or two on it. We want to go rapid fire here. You can yay your nae this. Let's start with keeper cut right out the gates. Carnelt hate Fitsy. Want to keep him for a couple more weeks. Jake keeper cut. Hard. Hard keep like definitely. But unfortunately you might mention it, right? Yeah, I was going to say you're probably benching him this week against the Eagles. Let's be honest. Okay, keeper cut Jake. Jayden Reed. Deckabye. If you need a live receiver, let's say like he was what the Jayden Reed was before. Golden. Watching that game, Golden was the second best wide receiver. Fitsy, keeper cut. Jayden Reed. I'm with Jake. If you have to move on, move on. Same problem with Jayden Reed. He doesn't play in three receiver sets. Oh, that's good. I kind of thought I would get pushed back. I knew I was going to get pushed back on the tape one, but I thought this one too. This is going to be an easier one. Then keeper cut. Fitsy. Joanne Jennings. Gone. Bye. Keeper cut. Jake. Dooses also because no matter of the quarterback. I said this in the preseason. Colour Murray is often been wide receiver tight end not wide receiver wide receiver tight end. So I was already worried about Jordan S and so this just makes it even more so. Goodbye, Joanne. The next three are going to be tougher and it's not most likely I'm going to guess you guys are going to push away from cutting, but I think you'll understand it mostly. Keeper cut. Jake. Malik Willis. After watching that offensive line, watching how they move the ball, he obviously can run some, but you know, he's not a top 12 or top 15. So keeper cut Malik Willis. Thousand percent keep mostly because he's not anybody starting quarterback. He was mostly people's number two. So you don't have to start him against San Francisco this week, but the rut, like as bad as it was, he's almost a QB one just because he ran and then ran for a touchdown. Let's say just this, I know I'm not rapid firing this, but DeWon Veile is out there. The only thing you can cut is a Malik Willis. You cut Malik Willis for DeWon Veile. Only if I needed a fourth one, if it's my if it's my fifth, if my fifth, whatever receiver, no, I'm older. I didn't draft Malik Willis to say goodbye already. You're trying to force Jake into a spot where he's already got Josh Allen. He's got Zayf Flowers and Lad McConkey, a wide receiver. Jake, you got a, you got a couple willis for DeWon Veile. If it's a keeper cut kind of same perspective as well. Like, I guess if you draft the two quarterbacks, there's probably not a lot else that's sitting out there, but I think there's some, there's some stuff to be worried about with the dolphins in general. Keep her cut Malik Willis for you. I didn't see the final tally on fantasy points, but he was right around 20, wasn't he? Like I'm keeping him. Okay, let me see where he was. He was 17, 17 points. He ended up being 12 out there. I think it probably won't be a QB one after tonight, but like, yeah, it's he's right there. Okay, keeper cut. I believe he might run the most routes, but what happened after the first, it felt like the first drive, right? Josh Downs fits. He Josh Downs ended up just disappearing in the second half. Again, I know he ran a lot of routes and everything like that, but the ball started going to Keenan Allen in the second half. Alec Pierce was running some in routes. It just, there was no routes for Josh Downs. It would be very overreactive, but I do want to remind him saying some of these is people are getting all like, ooh, people playing 10 man leagues. So keeper cut Josh Downs, everybody. I'm going to keep him, but yeah, it was bizarre that he had two catches before I finished my first mouthful of pretzels on Sunday and then just invisible after that. Did you pretzels? That's a good one. I'd just say chips pretzels. That's fun. Jake, same thing. Keep it in the perspective of like a 10 10 man league or something like that. Keeper cut Josh Downs. Yeah. If it was Vellie, Vellie, Vellie, if it was Vellie, no, but I could be tempted. Mostly because, again, it's that ticking window of Jordan Tyson, but for like, if I'm shooting for upside and downs is my fifth, goodbye for Douglas, goodbye for Boston, because I'm shooting for the upside. I don't think that downs is going to be anything more than a wide receiver three, which is valuable, but the ceiling isn't there now. Yeah. And then before this last one, again, I do want to point out, I think this is a lot tougher to do in week one to fully, you know, we're talking about rostrible ish players, you know, the first three or two of those three were kind of like, eh, these guys are way more rostred, but even I would agree, this is just for conversation. Finding guys, you're ready to just pull the plug on after one week after you drafted. Those are usually designed towards the bottom of the roster. So it's a tougher question. This is going to be a lot easier as we go on, but you, Jake, we're dying to give this away earlier. Keeper cut the final one, Marvin Harrison, who by the way, I did put a video out and everybody screamed at me because I had Marvin Harrison and Quinchon Juckins. I've only focused on my bad takes this week, but I did do a video where I said, don't play Juckins and don't play Marvin Harrison. Everyone screamed at me and that ended up working out, but keep or cut Marvin Harrison, 10 men, respective Jake, it's only it's only one week, but he's on notice. Like we, I called them into the office. We sat down. We had a conversation. I don't know. I can't happen again. Um, and so like you like, but let's be honest, like, you're not cutting Quentin Johnston. Like in that, like, there was opportunity that is there. The only problem is that, like, they're like, there's three targets. And there was 15 between Wilson and Kendrick Bourne. So if the Kendrick Bourne thing starts to be an issue, and this is a past happy offense that runs a lot of three, why would trademark bride and Marvin Harrison? It's just left to be, I mean, running windspring. He's conditioning out there. He's just out there just to take a defender away, because that's what it looked like in that game. He's on notice. He's on notice. It's very, it's very close. I'll give you one 18 league. You probably can cut Marvin Harrison. Thank you, you can cut him. Yeah, I actually, I do agree with this, by the way, again, reiterate one last time, me wanting to get rid of players after week one, especially where you have the equity of like a third or fourth wide receiver is low. There ain't no way you should be starting Marvin, but you tell him different. He's playing Seattle this week. You're not even starting. And then what's the point of holding on? So if it's keeper cut, Marvin Harrison, I want a little more information on what he is going to be in Michael Flore's offense, but he has made it on to Santa's naughty list. We are the three guys in office space. We're like, so what would you say you do here? Is like, I talked to the wide receiver or something? And that's the office, wait, you can't start him for the next two weeks. So should Alex, let's go after this. Like, say it, Jake, say, this is what? No, no, this is why you don't cut him, because if he does go off against Seattle for some reason, right? And then we like, they want the probably the arguably toughest defense in a league. And he shows up, you're going to be like, Man, I shouldn't have done that. But yeah, at San Francisco, at the Giants after that, if they're healthy, it looked really good last night. So, and then they get Detroit, which is cool. But then at Ram's Denver, like, Marvin Harrison's like, yeah, we had a conversation. He's, he's pushing the way out the door, possibly. jump to conclusions for his next career move for sure. Alright, those are your keeper cuts. They're going to become a lot easier as the, the weeks move on here. But you guys can let us know who are you, who are you cutting out of that list of any? I think reading Jennings are probably the easier ones. But you, the listener, and you make one of those tough cuts. Alright, last two things here, we're going to go our top streamers that we did not talk about quarterback, tight end defense and kicker, you could just get to blow through it. So Jake, why don't you kick us off your top quarterback, tight end defense going into this week? And will you do a kicker? So my top quarterback is Tyler shook. It did take a while in that game. Like, if you watch the first, actually, I had a buddy text to me in the first half, and said, did he forget how to play football? But it took till the second half and over time, but shook, going against the Ravens, which looks like has some chewed out potential every single week. And Daniel Jones didn't look great, but there were opportunities in that game. So I would say shook for quarterbacks, Hawkins said, I'm going back to it. I don't know that collar gets cleared. But even if it's wins or Kyler, I think that he's looking to be a 100% and possibly being the number two in what they have done to their offense, especially with it involving more tight ends on the field and what is a run heavier approach. I think this is a Hawkinson situation where we might get like, oh, I remember he has actually pretty good. And then the easiest, easiest like nobody wanted a week one. And then they show up against the Rams, which is why they nobody wanted them. But now the 40 virus have some really nice matchups coming forward, including the dolphins at home, which even if the leak will just runs for a touchdown, sax and turnovers are always potential. So the 49ers are easy one. And then I'm just going to sit here. All fits takes this and let's see. All right, here we go. Yep, Jake literally said he's not gonna make it. He's not going to do a kicker. So I guess I could appreciate keeping with the get with the bit there. By the way, or almost I about the Niners defense, it looks so good. I'm not helping any of you because your king got your negative points yesterday, Mr. Aubrey. Yeah, I just put that out there. No, I know you hate him. So if it's he's going to cover everybody, because these Aubrey did keep that game under, which was, which was a good thing. Let's get your quarterback tight in defense. And then you can, you can pick up the slack. You can do two kickers. Geno Smith, not overreaction that he looked competent. It's all about the schedule. Geno Smith in the next three week has a three weeks, a tour of the NFC North with the Packers, the Lions and the Bears, three teams that have really good offenses that can force Geno to keep the foot on the gas and really suspect defenses. Like these are going to be good spots for Geno. Don't be surprised if he's a QB one over the next three weeks. Dalton Schultz at tight end, all about the matchup with the Bengals. I know the Bengals defense has improved, but this is a team that got absolutely destroyed by tight ends last season. Give up the most fantasy points to tight ends by far. They give up 116 catches, 1444 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns to the tight end position. Last year, defense, I just want the defense that's playing the Browns and the Buccaneers are rostered in very few leagues this week, because they had a date with the Cincinnati Bengals in week one. So the Buccaneers are going to be competed for with fab dollars this week. And then kicker, I'll give you two Tyler Bass missed all of 2024 with a sports hernia. He's back. He kicked three of three field goals, three extra points and that went over the Texans for Buffalo. And now they get a potential shootout against the Lions in week two and Cairo Santos for the Bears look Ben Johnson said he wants to break the NFL scoring record. Still around bears got off to a pretty good start with 59 points in week one against the Panthers. Not too shabby. You've already kind of laid the groundwork though that you are probably not over like the 15 10 to 15% marker with a special caveat to Kale on black. He's kind of trippy here. So give us your top five. And if you have any fab suggestions that you want to throw in, but we're no number one waiver wire claim no big fab number, your top five this week is who? Yeah, I'm going to go with Kale on black and number one, Debo Samuel number two, if you're going to count him, he's he's just under 50% yeah, who roster ship Devon Valey number three, Don Tavine wicks, number four, Taijay Spears number five. And if you're disgusted with me, including Debo on this list, then we can go with Jonah Coleman as the number six. Okay, and then we know Kale on and if Debo is probably that what 10 to 15, maybe you said you go to 20 on Kale on black, if you felt the need to have it, what what what what is Valey wicks here? What is that? That fab look like? So Debo, I'd spend up like eight or so four, Valey, he's around six or seven percent, maybe a little more if you were someone who had flowers and Christian McCaffrey wicks and Taijay Taijay Spears is a couple of bucks. And done done Tavine wicks is like five tops low percentages perfect. All right, Jake, your top five you had Devon Valey is your number one, this week's obviously he'll be at one. What does your top five look like? And that percentages? I was going to throw you a curshaw real quick, that curve just like take I just because you mentioned drops, I don't want to be don't don't panic about fan and yet, just especially because I think the buck in years watching that game, I feel like their corners are going to open up a lot of thing underneath similar to the Eagles, I just want to throw that out, I want to panic on fan and yet, because I know people are probably worried. So my top five, they're all under 30% is what I tried to go for here. I know like I agree, like the Debo situation, the Woody marks or whatever, but it is Valey number one, Caleb Douglas would be number two, talked about that earlier. Caleb black checks in at number three and can be number one, depending on your roster and what your need is there. And then those two wide receivers, I would go after Bateman, just because especially if flowers is out, you're going to get a really nice opportunity, and then flowers, even if he's back, as I mentioned, Bateman was actually out there the second most. And then similar to that, Don Tavion wicks, which it's a very close call before between all those wide receivers, we talked about before, if you wanted to argue one, and that's the thing is like wicks and Bateman would probably be in like the five to eight percent range for me, killing black, we talked about, and then Douglas and Valey would both be like the 10, maybe 15% depending on how needy you are. Sure feel like in previous year, the last couple of years, we've just we've had a guy in, you know, that number one that you just come out the gates out of week one is just not quite there, but you never want Kevin Ulgeltree, you don't want to do one of those. No, you don't, but you do love the poop and a kooas where it's like that. I would be honestly, it's a little tough because we're doing this before Monday night football, and it's like I do think Jonah Coleman could be one of those guys if he were truly available, but why guys trying to get JK Thomas hurt in the first game of this season. Bye bye, Jonah Coleman season. It's probably going to be week 8, but I'm here for there you go.
